- 0:08Speaker 1: Off the Bench Hour two of Off the Bench Live
- 0:11Speaker 1: from the Raising Kine Studio.
- 0:49Speaker 3: All right, welcome back in OTV here our number two.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Always want to remind you of our friends over Buy
- 0:55Speaker 3: You Automotive. Buy You Automotive dot Com is the website
- 0:59Speaker 3: in the plus Louisiana. So look, you're gonna go down
- 1:02Speaker 3: to the dealership, check it out, walk around, certainly, do
- 1:04Speaker 3: that you're gonna find the vehicle that you've been looking for.
- 1:07Speaker 3: But let's say you don't have the time today or
- 1:09Speaker 3: the next week to get down there, but you're in
- 1:11Speaker 3: the market for a new vehicle.
- 1:12Speaker 4: That's okay.
- 1:13Speaker 3: You go to buy you Automotive dot Com and you
- 1:14Speaker 3: can buy that vehicle for Prysler, Dodge, Jeep Ram. They
- 1:18Speaker 3: got a little bit of everything down there in the
- 1:19Speaker 3: place Louisiana. Also the Black Widow Package. Nobody in the
- 1:23Speaker 3: country does it better. They just don't. Right, I've had
- 1:27Speaker 3: the Jeep, I got the f one fifty right now.
- 1:29Speaker 3: They do it in the Ram as well. Like it's
- 1:31Speaker 3: not just one vehicle. They do it in multiple vehicles,
- 1:34Speaker 3: and again they do it better than anybody else.
- 1:36Speaker 4: It is an absolute show stopper on the road.
- 1:39Speaker 3: Go check it all out of buyu Automotive dot Com.
- 1:43Speaker 3: All right, tatay, right here at the eight o'clock in
- 1:46Speaker 3: the dock, you've got the top ten quarterback rooms in
- 1:50Speaker 3: college footballs we get into.
- 1:51Speaker 4: A little LSU discussion.
- 1:53Speaker 3: LSU comes in in the top ten and TATA let
- 1:56Speaker 3: the good people know exactly where they come in.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Yeah, they commit a numbers in the top ten, which
- 2:02Speaker 2: I think makes a lot of sense because it's rooms
- 2:04Speaker 2: as a whole. Because when you so something came out
- 2:06Speaker 2: a week ago actually of best backups, and LSU didn't
- 2:10Speaker 2: have one on the list. That's fine. Landon Clark, Yes,
- 2:13Speaker 2: he played a whole year coming up a level in competition.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Who's on Long Street only played three games a USC
- 2:18Speaker 2: a year ago. But when you combine all three of
- 2:20Speaker 2: those guys Levitt, if fully healthy, Land and Clark and
- 2:23Speaker 2: Who's on Long Street, it makes a lot of sense
- 2:26Speaker 2: like LSU might have one of the deeper quarterback rooms
- 2:29Speaker 2: in all of college football. Because number one, it's Oregon.
- 2:34Speaker 2: We get it right. Matt's favorite quarterback Dylan Royola, who
- 2:36Speaker 2: matt actually just transferred over to Oregon if you didn't
- 2:39Speaker 2: hear that. So it's Dante Moore and Dilan Relo that
- 2:42Speaker 2: makes sense, I mean Dylan Rayolo multi year starter in
- 2:45Speaker 2: power football. But as far as their number three, there's
- 2:48Speaker 2: a drop off there that I don't think LSU has,
- 2:50Speaker 2: like Texas number two Arch Manning MJ. Morris behind him.
- 2:55Speaker 2: He's got ten career starts over multiple programs. I mean,
- 2:57Speaker 2: Utah's on there. You got Ole Miss with Trinidad, But
- 3:01Speaker 2: as far as the depth goes one through three, Lsho's
- 3:05Speaker 2: really the only team mentioned because it says Trinidad and
- 3:08Speaker 2: duce Nipe for a miss Grave who's behind them? Like
- 3:11Speaker 2: you got Julian saying, and they love their their their
- 3:14Speaker 2: freshman tav in Saint Clair. But Lshu's the only team
- 3:18Speaker 2: on here that has three well known guys. So while
- 3:21Speaker 2: they sit at six depth wise, they might be the
- 3:23Speaker 2: best one on this list.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Matthew kind of break down not only what LSU has,
- 3:30Speaker 3: but maybe the dynamic of what LSU has. You have
- 3:32Speaker 3: a guy in Sam Levitt that has got all the hype.
- 3:35Speaker 3: They have a guy that has made the College Football
- 3:37Speaker 3: Playoff with another team.
- 3:38Speaker 4: But he's been to a level that not a lot
- 3:41Speaker 4: of people are.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Going to say that they've been to in college football,
- 3:44Speaker 3: playing in a college football playoff.
- 3:45Speaker 4: They've got the young five.
- 3:47Speaker 3: Star stud and they've also got somebody from a lower
- 3:50Speaker 3: level that was really good at that level and has
- 3:53Speaker 3: a lot of snaps. And we've seen you know, Trinidad
- 3:56Speaker 3: Chamblis and others be able to go from you know,
- 3:58Speaker 3: a level that's not certainly the SEC or even the
- 4:04Speaker 3: FBS and thrive. So they've got a little bit of
- 4:07Speaker 3: everything in that quarterback room. And I would think that
- 4:09Speaker 3: if you're going to have three quarterbacks, you want them
- 4:12Speaker 3: to be a little bit different skill set wise, and
- 4:14Speaker 3: maybe even kind of where they're at, because it feels
- 4:17Speaker 3: like Lshu's quarterback room does have a little bit of everything.
- 4:19Speaker 5: I don't know, like if you're recruiting quarterbacks for a
- 4:23Speaker 5: certain offense, you kind of want everyone to have the
- 4:25Speaker 5: same skill set at least.
- 4:27Speaker 4: Similar skill set.
- 4:29Speaker 3: You don't want to pocket passer and a guy there's
- 4:31Speaker 3: still some differences, I think, like size wise, maybe the attributes. Yeah, yeah,
- 4:38Speaker 3: I mean, you know, it's you want a similar type
- 4:41Speaker 3: quarterback in your in your quarterback room because you're especially
- 4:46Speaker 3: with like lanes type offense.
- 4:47Speaker 4: He's got a very specific type of offense.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Right, Well, I mean you Marcus Randall and JaMarcus probably
- 4:53Speaker 3: not going to ever get confused for each other skill wise,
- 4:59Speaker 3: right And Jimbo recruits quarterbacks at a high level. So like,
- 5:03Speaker 3: what was the reasoning you think for that? Because you
- 5:05Speaker 3: tell me because I was a dual threat, you're more
- 5:08Speaker 3: of a dual threat than Jay Russ for sure.
- 5:12Speaker 4: That was a joke, by the way.
- 5:15Speaker 5: Uh, you know, I would think I was probably recruited
- 5:18Speaker 5: to be more of a pocket gun. But anyway, I'm
- 5:21Speaker 5: just saying, like, if you are, if you're creating an offense,
- 5:23Speaker 5: I wouldn't want to have to if there's an injury
- 5:25Speaker 5: that occurred through the season, have to change it drastically.
- 5:29Speaker 5: There's always going to be changes that you're gonna work.
- 5:31Speaker 5: You're going to work around eight quarterbacks certainly skill set.
- 5:35Speaker 5: You're also going to work around his comfortability. Some people
- 5:38Speaker 5: even with the same type of skill set. And now
- 5:40Speaker 5: I'm putting like quarterbacks into like categories and boxes here.
- 5:44Speaker 5: That's unfair to do because there's no two quarterbacks that
- 5:48Speaker 5: are the same guy you just but you're you would
- 5:50Speaker 5: operate and call a make a game plan for one
- 5:55Speaker 5: person differently over another person.
- 5:57Speaker 4: Right.
- 5:57Speaker 5: That's why sometimes you'll see, like even in the NFL,
- 6:01Speaker 5: you'll have a guy that might be that backs up
- 6:06Speaker 5: on any given Sunday or a Saturday in college football,
- 6:10Speaker 5: that he's the backup, the primary backup, but if the
- 6:13Speaker 5: starter goes down, he might not be the starter, you
- 6:16Speaker 5: know what I mean, Like there might be a second
- 6:18Speaker 5: best guy, but the guy that's going to be the
- 6:21Speaker 5: backup on a game day is a guy that's more
- 6:23Speaker 5: complimentary to the game plan, especially if they're and you
- 6:28Speaker 5: see that a lot of times when the starting quarterback
- 6:30Speaker 5: can use his legs a little bit more and the
- 6:34Speaker 5: backup is a highly recruited or highly drafted, more pocket
- 6:37Speaker 5: passer guy and he would not fit that game plan.
- 6:40Speaker 4: So he's going to be the third guy that day.
- 6:42Speaker 5: But if the starter goes down, he's gonna be your
- 6:44Speaker 5: starter the next week because the game plan is going
- 6:46Speaker 5: to be a lot of different. But I think you
- 6:48Speaker 5: got you know, three guys that at least fit the
- 6:50Speaker 5: mold of what Lane Kiffen wants to do.
- 6:52Speaker 4: That's why he went out and recruited them, and he's
- 6:54Speaker 4: done that.
- 6:55Speaker 5: I mean, he's been It blows my mind how good
- 6:58Speaker 5: Lane Kiffin has been at recruiting portal quarterbacks. He gets
- 7:03Speaker 5: multiple highly talented guys to come and be backups and
- 7:09Speaker 5: be third stream guys. Yeah, we've seen it since his
- 7:13Speaker 5: days at All. I mean for years he's done it.
- 7:15Speaker 5: And it always blows my mind, like, man, why do
- 7:17Speaker 5: those guys go there?
- 7:18Speaker 4: What are they doing?
- 7:19Speaker 5: I guess that'd like about the long Street kid this year,
- 7:21Speaker 5: Like what what?
- 7:23Speaker 4: Why did he come here? Like, I don't know.
- 7:26Speaker 5: Maybe it's because it's a stepping stone to another opportunity
- 7:29Speaker 5: and you want Lane Kiffin on your resume.
- 7:32Speaker 4: Maybe that is.
- 7:32Speaker 5: And there's so many different elements to the college athletic
- 7:37Speaker 5: world now that you know, frankly, that we're not gonna
- 7:41Speaker 5: know or understand or be able to report on because
- 7:43Speaker 5: we just don't know those conversations that are being had.
- 7:46Speaker 5: Is this a one one year thing for a resume builder?
- 7:49Speaker 5: And it could be, And I guess you can't really
- 7:52Speaker 5: count anything out, but.
- 7:56Speaker 2: I love it.
- 7:57Speaker 5: Was the number one guy in the transfer portal for reason. Right,
- 8:01Speaker 5: he's got the experience, he's got the skill set coming
- 8:04Speaker 5: off an injury, assuming he's going to you know, everybody
- 8:08Speaker 5: assumed that he'll be healthy for the next season. And
- 8:11Speaker 5: he's been there. You've seen him in the playoff, You've
- 8:12Speaker 5: seen him execute, You've seen him be dynamic running the
- 8:16Speaker 5: football and certainly dynamic.
- 8:17Speaker 4: In the passing game. So the most experienced guy. So
- 8:21Speaker 4: that's that's who Laye targeted.
- 8:24Speaker 5: And thank god we didn't get soresby, Thank goodness, because
- 8:28Speaker 5: that was an option. But all these guys can do it.
- 8:34Speaker 5: I mean, all these guys. Recruiting quarterbacks is hard, man,
- 8:37Speaker 5: It's like drafting quarterbacks. It's a crap shoot, right, It's
- 8:41Speaker 5: it's you think you know. Sometimes you might even know
- 8:45Speaker 5: you know and still be wrong. Yeah, and then some
- 8:49Speaker 5: guys you don't even know that turned out to be
- 8:51Speaker 5: turnidud of Chambliss.
- 8:52Speaker 4: You know, you just don't really know how.
- 8:55Speaker 5: Especially that age of kids, who's going to mature mentally, physically, spiritually,
- 9:01Speaker 5: Who's going to mature at different times? Like if they
- 9:04Speaker 5: would have thrown me in as a freshman or sophomore.
- 9:08Speaker 3: Two and three, two thousand and four, I would have
- 9:10Speaker 3: been awful. I wouldn't I wouldn't ready in the Iowa game.
- 9:15Speaker 4: Shouldn't take me out. I played all three quarterbacks that day.
- 9:20Speaker 5: Did that was kind of piss They took me out,
- 9:23Speaker 5: So I didn't do anything wrong. Say Ja, Marcus should
- 9:30Speaker 5: put me in at safety.
- 9:36Speaker 4: You would have got deeper than the deepest.
- 9:38Speaker 5: Ye have no doubt. I can't get behind me. I'm
- 9:41Speaker 5: gonna line up sixty yards deep.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Sixty yards.
- 9:47Speaker 3: You should have done Hell, Mary, we lost a Capital
- 9:50Speaker 3: One Bowl, Drew Tate only bowl loss we had our
- 9:55Speaker 3: whole careers.
- 9:57Speaker 4: Terrible American boo.
- 10:01Speaker 6: I bet he didn't even cheer for the USA last I.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Bet he didn't he Drew Tate.
- 10:05Speaker 4: What Drew t is doing right now? He thinks I
- 10:08Speaker 4: don't coach.
- 10:09Speaker 5: He's probably great, great guy, but based on one fifteen
- 10:13Speaker 5: second interaction I had with him in high school.
- 10:16Speaker 4: Terrible American.
- 10:19Speaker 3: Oh, he is a He is a quarterbacks coach. We're
- 10:23Speaker 3: at the Ottawa red Blacks.
- 10:27Speaker 2: He expat.
- 10:31Speaker 3: He played uh for the rough Riders from seven to eight,
- 10:36Speaker 3: the Stampeders from twenty nine to twenty sixteen, the Red
- 10:41Speaker 3: Blacks in twenty seventeen. They went back to the rough
- 10:43Speaker 3: Riders in twenty eighteen. He had a long career.
- 10:46Speaker 2: That would you like to get what the killers up?
- 10:50Speaker 4: Red and Black?
- 10:51Speaker 2: Uh no, bloom gold, dang it?
- 10:53Speaker 7: No.
- 10:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:55Speaker 3: Then he coached the rough Riders in twenty three, the
- 10:59Speaker 3: Argonauts in twenty four to twenty five, and.
- 11:01Speaker 4: Then yeah Red Blacks. Alright, three time Gray Cup champion.
- 11:07Speaker 2: He's like a CFL merchant.
- 11:09Speaker 3: Ye all right, so he was the CFL rushing touchdown
- 11:12Speaker 3: leader in twenty fourteen.
- 11:13Speaker 4: Not a big deal.
- 11:17Speaker 3: Ken is a big deal because's six foot one ninety
- 11:19Speaker 3: He ran a four to nine six foot yeah right, yeah,
- 11:21Speaker 3: he's on six foot.
- 11:22Speaker 4: There's all right. I'll give everybody the backstory.
- 11:25Speaker 3: He went to uh Roberty Lee High School in Baytown, Texas.
- 11:30Speaker 5: So we were after our sophomore year, so he committed
- 11:35Speaker 5: to Texas A and M.
- 11:36Speaker 2: He's from Baytownley Tyler Lee over here, this guy.
- 11:40Speaker 5: So he went to Baytown Lee and he was like
- 11:43Speaker 5: one of the first offenses, like in Texas high school
- 11:45Speaker 5: football that was threw at.
- 11:47Speaker 4: Sixty something times. Again they threw it. That was that
- 11:49Speaker 4: was their offense.
- 11:50Speaker 5: And he got he was committed to Texas A and
- 11:52Speaker 5: M in like two as a sophomore. And back then
- 11:55Speaker 5: that that was unheard of absolutely iven heard of. No
- 11:58Speaker 5: one committed that early or got offered that early, and
- 12:02Speaker 5: so blah blah blah. A couple of years later, I
- 12:04Speaker 5: start getting recruited. So we're the same age and going
- 12:07Speaker 5: to our senior year. I'm committed, LSU's committed to Texas
- 12:11Speaker 5: or Texas A and M and uh. They start these
- 12:16Speaker 5: recruiting lists, start ranking me ahead of him. I guess
- 12:19Speaker 5: the guy Texas whatever. And so I see him. I
- 12:22Speaker 5: see him at like Nike. I see him somewhere and
- 12:25Speaker 5: I've never met him, and I go to him. I
- 12:26Speaker 5: was like, hey, man, I just wanted to introduce himself.
- 12:29Speaker 5: Nice to meet you. Cold shoulders man, no, cold shouldered me.
- 12:33Speaker 6: Like, didn't say anything at all. He didn't say one word.
- 12:36Speaker 6: He didn't even say what's up?
- 12:37Speaker 2: Nothing, nothing, cold shoulder.
- 12:39Speaker 5: Now, in fairness, probably didn't even recognize me. Probably might
- 12:44Speaker 5: have not eve even heard me. But in my brain,
- 12:46Speaker 5: chip on the shoulder. Got to find a way to
- 12:48Speaker 5: put a chip.
- 12:48Speaker 4: On your shoulder.
- 12:50Speaker 6: Punchable face, a little bit shaved the next In.
- 12:54Speaker 5: Fairness, I have no idea, don't know him, just whether
- 12:58Speaker 5: he did it on purpose or not. Give me the
- 12:59Speaker 5: cult older, Well you want.
- 13:01Speaker 2: A natty and Uh, I understand he was great in
- 13:04Speaker 2: that game, but I was not known for It's like
- 13:07Speaker 2: a QB factory. So I got thin. I think you
- 13:08Speaker 2: got I think he went up there.
- 13:10Speaker 5: They Uh, they did when Dennis FRANCHIONI took over the job.
- 13:16Speaker 4: They pulled a scholarship off scholarship and they gave it
- 13:19Speaker 4: to me.
- 13:21Speaker 2: So he loves you.
- 13:23Speaker 5: Actually, I don't know if they pulled it, maybe decommitted,
- 13:25Speaker 5: he's been what the actual story is. I just know
- 13:28Speaker 5: the way that I developed it in my brain and.
- 13:30Speaker 6: Never had any other interaction with him.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Again, well, so Iowa throws the hell Mary against Hans
- 13:36Speaker 2: after the game.
- 13:37Speaker 3: Six yard pass the guy that caught it is only
- 13:40Speaker 3: touchdown of his college career.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Of course, what of course savans last game?
- 13:47Speaker 4: Uh?
- 13:47Speaker 3: He said it says he originally committed to text A
- 13:49Speaker 3: and M, but de committed after R. C.
- 13:51Speaker 4: Slocombe was replaced by uh French. He said right. Uh.
- 13:56Speaker 3: Tate also noted that he would likely sit behind as
- 14:00Speaker 3: that was starter Reggie McNeil.
- 14:01Speaker 4: Yeah, because reggiemc'nil is a.
- 14:03Speaker 3: Freak athlete, So he chose to play for the University
- 14:07Speaker 3: of Iowa instead. Reggie McNeil from Lufkin Texas pick off.
- 14:18Speaker 3: He was first team on district. Well, yeah that was
- 14:23Speaker 3: my junior year though.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:29Speaker 6: LSU Baseball just got somebody out the portal.

- 16:37Speaker 3: from the Raisin Kanes Studio. Let's throw it to a
- 16:43Speaker 3: laundre blank space, Villa Real because we got a little
- 16:46Speaker 3: LSU baseball news.
- 16:48Speaker 9: Yeah, everybody is asking for some pitching depth. You got
- 16:51Speaker 9: a right handed pitchers. Don't all lefties, I feel like,
- 16:55Speaker 9: but get a right handed picture out of South Florida.
- 17:00Speaker 9: Sophomore year, he did have a four point two four
- 17:02Speaker 9: e r A and forty six point two innings pitch,
- 17:05Speaker 9: but he struck out fifty two, walked twenty five sixteen appearances,
- 17:11Speaker 9: eight of them were starts, so allowed less than a
- 17:14Speaker 9: hit per inning with his total forty one.
- 17:18Speaker 6: So I don't know. It's always good to have people.
- 17:23Speaker 9: Coming in, right, but I don't the e r is
- 17:27Speaker 9: a little high.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Hopefully I think that like if yeah, this can the
- 17:35Speaker 2: blow of Marco's pause, true, and another option to at
- 17:41Speaker 2: least compete for starting rotation outside.
- 17:44Speaker 9: Also like you could come to l s U and
- 17:46Speaker 9: thrive here yep, Like you have great people on staff
- 17:50Speaker 9: that can help you with your command.
- 17:54Speaker 6: He hit seventeen batters, So wait, do we commands a
- 17:57Speaker 6: little bit of pitching coach. I think we a good picture.
- 18:01Speaker 9: I know a lot of people don't believe that, but
- 18:03Speaker 9: I think he's pretty good.
- 18:04Speaker 6: I'm not gonna let a couple of anyway.
- 18:08Speaker 9: But uh, seventeen batters hit, so again, like a command
- 18:12Speaker 9: a little bit of an issue for Cayden, but you
- 18:16Speaker 9: do add some depth to that bullpen. He did start
- 18:18Speaker 9: his career at TCU, made fourteen appearances for them and
- 18:22Speaker 9: through twelve innings with a five point twenty five or right,
- 18:24Speaker 9: while striking out twelve and walking six, so you got
- 18:28Speaker 9: about like a fifty percent strike out to walk ratio.
- 18:33Speaker 4: All right, like sending a message though, I like hitting
- 18:35Speaker 4: seventeen guys.
- 18:36Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 18:37Speaker 9: Absolutely, we didn't have an issue with hitting batters this season,
- 18:41Speaker 9: So go get the guy that hit seventeen.
- 18:42Speaker 2: I'd rather hit him than walk them. MAT's like get
- 18:44Speaker 2: those number.
- 18:45Speaker 6: Was walking him to.
- 18:47Speaker 5: Do it?
- 18:47Speaker 2: A little bit threat threat everything? All right? Hey, and Jay,
- 18:53Speaker 2: we trust so we can joke about it because we
- 18:56Speaker 2: know Jay's got.
- 18:56Speaker 6: A BA right.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Well, I mean you just had to get pictures at
- 18:58Speaker 2: this point, man, like you just had to be people in.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Are we worried about the more than the field?
- 19:04Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 19:06Speaker 5: You didn't answer my question. Yes, okay, are we are
- 19:09Speaker 5: worried like we're running out of time or not? Enough
- 19:11Speaker 5: pictures have entered the portal and are available.
- 19:14Speaker 2: I mean, do you feel really good about Evans, Moore,
- 19:16Speaker 2: and Schmidt running it back with those three? Because you've
- 19:19Speaker 2: yet to bring in a.
- 19:20Speaker 6: Like I want to starter, right, you.
- 19:23Speaker 2: Yet to bring in a bona fide this guy's sec
- 19:26Speaker 2: weekend pitch?
- 19:27Speaker 4: Oh right?
- 19:27Speaker 3: Wrong or indifferent? I think they're telling you by their
- 19:29Speaker 3: moves that they feel good about it.
- 19:31Speaker 6: No, for sure, but I like, I trust Jay. I'm
- 19:35Speaker 6: just letting you know, like that's how I feel about it.
- 19:37Speaker 6: It's concerning, but I do trust him.
- 19:39Speaker 2: So we don't see field looks great in field nowtfield
- 19:42Speaker 2: looks awesome.
- 19:46Speaker 6: Yeah. I think the rest of the team is very solid.
- 19:53Speaker 5: So I feel like, if you're going to find some
- 19:55Speaker 5: pictures if okay, maybe you're not going to find Paul Skins,
- 20:01Speaker 5: I'm gonna find Kat Anderson. Okay, got it. Maybe you
- 20:06Speaker 5: just go find guys that aren't walking or hitting seventeen
- 20:08Speaker 5: batters that make people put it in play because your
- 20:10Speaker 5: defense is gonna be so.
- 20:11Speaker 3: Good and you were so bad a year ago at
- 20:13Speaker 3: free passes, historically bad.
- 20:16Speaker 5: So I don't okay, now that you've written this out,
- 20:17Speaker 5: I don't love the Sun, but I know you have
- 20:19Speaker 5: to have people. But maybe you just get people that
- 20:22Speaker 5: just throw a bunch of strikes, make him hit it.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Hear me, If it were me, I would strikes yea.
- 20:29Speaker 6: And then if I was the batter, I would just
- 20:30Speaker 6: hit a bomb.
- 20:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 20:33Speaker 9: But yeah, so he's the third picture that you added
- 20:35Speaker 9: from the portal landon Hood Diego Velasquez and then also
- 20:40Speaker 9: Brax and Batty. He's the picture from Texas who withdrew
- 20:45Speaker 9: his name from the MLB draft, the one I said
- 20:48Speaker 9: he kind of reminds me of Zach Cowan a little bit.
- 20:52Speaker 6: In terms of stuff.
- 20:55Speaker 3: Yeah, and again like another port Yeah, another part and
- 20:58Speaker 3: another point of reference when we're talking to LSU baseball
- 21:01Speaker 3: and what they've had in the portal. Again, they've had
- 21:03Speaker 3: way more success with guys that are in the high
- 21:06Speaker 3: school signing class not going to the draft. At least
- 21:09Speaker 3: it feels like right now they've had some top names
- 21:10Speaker 3: full out or a year ago, you really got beat
- 21:14Speaker 3: up a little bit by the process.
- 21:15Speaker 9: Yes, today is Jay's really putting in work with the
- 21:19Speaker 9: kids that are pulling their names from the MLB Draft.
- 21:26Speaker 4: But it doesn't matter. We're gonna win the national.
- 21:30Speaker 6: Championship even year or an odd year.
- 21:32Speaker 3: I mean, I mean, realistically, you have to get back
- 21:43Speaker 3: on track this year and it's it's gonna be a
- 21:46Speaker 3: very important season.
- 21:47Speaker 4: Now.
- 21:48Speaker 3: Obviously what Jay's done, the equity is already built up there.
- 21:51Speaker 3: But LSU baseball fans aren't used to not playing in.
- 21:53Speaker 6: The postseason, right was so crazy?
- 21:55Speaker 3: That is not something that they're used to be okay
- 21:58Speaker 3: with right, So this is very important year for them,
- 22:01Speaker 3: and there's gonna be a lot of thought and a
- 22:03Speaker 3: lot of you know, process oriented things that they go
- 22:07Speaker 3: through here in the fall to make sure they have
- 22:09Speaker 3: the right roster. But that's why there's a lot of attention,
- 22:12Speaker 3: a lot of eyeballs on every single portal addition that
- 22:14Speaker 3: they make.
- 22:15Speaker 4: Last year it was like, oh, you gotta a portal.
- 22:18Speaker 3: Cool, let's just keep adding to this already stacked right,
- 22:22Speaker 3: And like now it's like.
- 22:25Speaker 4: Seem kind of messed up here.
- 22:26Speaker 9: I also say that, like the other thing that I
- 22:28Speaker 9: don't love about this guy, which I'm sure he's great,
- 22:32Speaker 9: Like I don't want to I'm.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Sure he's a guy.
- 22:36Speaker 4: I don't want to great personality.
- 22:38Speaker 6: I don't want it to come off as negative as
- 22:41Speaker 6: it's coming off.
- 22:41Speaker 9: But like, I just feel like we have the issue
- 22:46Speaker 9: where Casen, he was a middle relief and then you
- 22:50Speaker 9: turn him into.
- 22:51Speaker 6: A starter, clearly better out of the bullpen. Zach Cowan.
- 22:54Speaker 9: You would make him start and then you'd make him
- 22:56Speaker 9: come out the pen, and then sometimes you make him
- 22:58Speaker 9: a closer, which works when Zach Cowen because he's really good.
- 23:04Speaker 9: This guy like he started some games, some games he
- 23:07Speaker 9: came out the pin, Like, I don't need any more
- 23:09Speaker 9: confusion around, Like, if you're going to be a starter,
- 23:12Speaker 9: if you're gonna be coming out of the pin, because
- 23:15Speaker 9: it's different.
- 23:17Speaker 2: That's why I want a front line starter because honestly,
- 23:20Speaker 2: in a perfect world, I put Casen back where he
- 23:22Speaker 2: was as a freshman and Zach Cowen. You don't have
- 23:25Speaker 2: him this year, so you need somebody to take over
- 23:27Speaker 2: that role. Why not case In Evans. But looks like
- 23:30Speaker 2: he's gonna have to still start.
- 23:33Speaker 4: I mean there's flashes there was no for sure. Yeah,
- 23:36Speaker 4: Oklahoma game SEC for sure.
- 23:39Speaker 6: Yeah, I just.
- 23:41Speaker 2: When we didn't really get to see Cooper more. I mean,
- 23:44Speaker 2: what do he played two SEC weekends? Got hurt? Was it?
- 23:47Speaker 9: During the he was the one that like was not
- 23:50Speaker 9: walking anybody?
- 23:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean he was steady Eddie.
- 23:52Speaker 4: Out there, steady Eddie. I hadn't heard that all.
- 23:59Speaker 2: I hadn't used it in a long time.
- 24:01Speaker 5: College baseball is going to be impossible to create a
- 24:06Speaker 5: every year dynasty, I think because there's so much turnover
- 24:09Speaker 5: in the transfer portal, and it's like that for every
- 24:12Speaker 5: college sport. I get it, and it affects the smaller
- 24:16Speaker 5: you know, the the roster or the sports with smaller rosters,
- 24:20Speaker 5: certainly because you could change over all of your starters
- 24:23Speaker 5: every single year.
- 24:24Speaker 4: I have to.
- 24:26Speaker 5: But in baseball it's different than other of the other
- 24:29Speaker 5: sports because there's more money involved, So people are gonna
- 24:34Speaker 5: transfer a lot. It's different than you know, volleyball or
- 24:38Speaker 5: soccer or whatever. It is just because there's more money
- 24:40Speaker 5: being exchanged to these players because there's more it's just
- 24:45Speaker 5: more funds available at the big school. So you're gonna
- 24:48Speaker 5: hit some years. You're gonna maybe you hit two years
- 24:50Speaker 5: in a row, maybe ait three years. Like it's gonna
- 24:51Speaker 5: be impossible to hit on all your transfers every single year.
- 24:55Speaker 4: I mean we saw that this past year with LSU.
- 24:58Speaker 5: So like these teams, it's just gonna be hard to
- 25:00Speaker 5: be consistently in the World Series every single year because
- 25:04Speaker 5: every year are going to be so reliant, Like you're
- 25:06Speaker 5: relying heavily on a large portion of your lineup being transferred.
- 25:12Speaker 4: Players that are a little bit unknown.
- 25:13Speaker 3: I mean, you know a little bit about them, but
- 25:15Speaker 3: you haven't recruited them for three four years, and you
- 25:19Speaker 3: have to do it in a quick manner.
- 25:20Speaker 4: You got to put this roster together.
- 25:22Speaker 3: Now, sometimes it's gonna work out, Like for Georgia for instance,
- 25:25Speaker 3: like they had a couple of small school guys really
- 25:27Speaker 3: work out for them be some of the best players
- 25:29Speaker 3: in the country. Like you tried that route and it's
- 25:31Speaker 3: worked for you before and last year it didn't. It's
- 25:33Speaker 3: not just smaller school guys, but it's kind of an
- 25:34Speaker 3: example of can they take that leak.
- 25:37Speaker 4: Can they go from where they were? You know, can
- 25:39Speaker 4: they go from Utah Valley?
- 25:41Speaker 3: Can they be a star in the SEC and be
- 25:44Speaker 3: somebody helps you win the national championship?
- 25:45Speaker 4: You've had that before, you went to Grand Canyon last
- 25:50Speaker 4: year and it didn't work for you.
- 25:51Speaker 3: Yeah, right, Like, so there's gonna be some of that too,
- 25:53Speaker 3: And it's like putting all these people together that have
- 25:55Speaker 3: never been together as well.
- 25:58Speaker 6: It's all so mental to like.
- 26:01Speaker 4: And you just don't know.
- 26:02Speaker 5: You Like, let's say Caseon Evans, like he's got physically
- 26:05Speaker 5: got the stuff, Yes, he's got it, you don't know
- 26:08Speaker 5: when it's gonna it could click mentally for him, like
- 26:13Speaker 5: he could he's got the stuff to go and be
- 26:16Speaker 5: a top first round pick if like he can put
- 26:18Speaker 5: it together weekend week yet and maybe that clicks this year.
- 26:21Speaker 5: You just don't know. Yeah, maybe it doesn't. Maybe it
- 26:24Speaker 5: doesn't click to them until his third year in the
- 26:26Speaker 5: minor leagues.
- 26:27Speaker 4: You know, you just don't know. But he has the stuff.
- 26:30Speaker 6: Yeah, to be clear, I love Caseon. Yeah he's great.
- 26:35Speaker 6: Sometimes my humble opinion that.
- 26:38Speaker 4: Yeah, and look that's what we get paid to do. Yeah,
- 26:42Speaker 4: we get paid to do, but it paid the big buck.
- 26:44Speaker 6: Do you think that it's easier?
- 26:45Speaker 9: So it's like with Lane Kiffen, people were like, oh,
- 26:48Speaker 9: that's awesome. He got Trinidad Shambliss out of Farris State.
- 26:53Speaker 9: And it's very rare in football that somebody from a
- 26:57Speaker 9: small Yes, yeah, it's very rare in football that that
- 27:02Speaker 9: works out. It's more likely in baseball that it works out.
- 27:07Speaker 6: But it is you can miss with people like Zach.
- 27:10Speaker 5: Or That's what I was saying, like when the Lane
- 27:12Speaker 5: kives stuff like Lane gets a lot of credit, but
- 27:15Speaker 5: there's a touch of luck with that man, Like it's
- 27:18Speaker 5: an outre.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Theality of moving up a level in football is not
- 27:22Speaker 2: even close.
- 27:23Speaker 6: So you can play for like a Troy in baseball
- 27:26Speaker 6: and make it.
- 27:27Speaker 2: To where Daniel Dickinson come from.
- 27:31Speaker 3: Valley.
- 27:31Speaker 2: I mean he was came in stud from day one, right, Yeah,
- 27:35Speaker 2: you can't just be like Lane Lincoln.
- 27:37Speaker 5: Just take go get a small small school, small school
- 27:40Speaker 5: QB turn into an I mean, it's kind of the
- 27:46Speaker 5: equivalent of like Brady in.
- 27:47Speaker 9: The sixth rounds, right. I miss Daniel and his uh
- 27:52Speaker 9: cross hearing.
- 27:53Speaker 4: Daniel cross hearing Bob to commit to that one time.
- 27:59Speaker 6: I forget what we said, Hey Dane Dickinson. But also yeah,
- 28:02Speaker 6: that was funny too.
- 28:06Speaker 4: All right, we'll take a break more ot B when
- 28:09Speaker 4: we come back here live from the raisinkin studio.
- 28:11Speaker 2: Off the Bench Sigret and I left me.
- 28:16Speaker 1: Want locked in LSU Football twenty four to seven. You're
- 28:20Speaker 1: listening to Off the Bench.
- 28:22Speaker 7: She was with the friends, left them standing there.
- 28:27Speaker 8: There was more than smoke in that song.
- 28:32Speaker 6: We burned through. I just told me about the hometown.
- 28:34Speaker 6: She was drinking tea, do, said I better slow down.
- 28:37Speaker 4: I was like it, Oh no, I ain't drinking by.
- 28:40Speaker 7: Myself now, said she little my access, So I kept talking,
- 28:44Speaker 7: reached throw the pack on the table by my wallet.
- 28:46Speaker 7: We saw off the light and I we had lived
- 28:51Speaker 7: with thirteen cigarettes, and I left me Want with the Windows.
- 28:58Speaker 4: All right, welcome back in O t B.
- 29:01Speaker 3: You're live from the rais of Kanes Studio. You can
- 29:05Speaker 3: never forget about our friends over aight, go Tommy's. Oh
- 29:08Speaker 3: Hey Tommy, Tommy's Windows, Doors and Siding. G E a
- 29:11Speaker 3: u X Tommy's with WI. That was an interesting one.
- 29:13Speaker 4: I don't know the website.
- 29:15Speaker 3: You will clearly see the difference award winning every single
- 29:19Speaker 3: year since twenty sixteen, the Angie Super Service Award Best
- 29:22Speaker 3: Windows in Baton Rouge and the Advocate. This year that
- 29:24Speaker 3: went to Tommy's Windows, Doors and Siding. See what they
- 29:26Speaker 3: can do for you. They also, uh, they can install gutters.
- 29:30Speaker 3: That's something that maybe you don't think about with them,
- 29:32Speaker 3: but that is a service that they have over there
- 29:35Speaker 3: at Tommy's Windows Doors. Inciding Go Tommy's dot com is
- 29:38Speaker 3: the website g E a u X Tommisvildewy dot com.
- 29:42Speaker 3: All right, Tae, you mentioned that CBS Sports, if I'm
- 29:45Speaker 3: not mistaken, put out a quarterback tier list and teer
- 29:51Speaker 3: lists are always funny, and look, we love doing them
- 29:53Speaker 3: here as well, and you're gonna agree, disagree whatever, But
- 29:56Speaker 3: you said that there was five quarterbacks right to that
- 30:00Speaker 3: are Tier one on their tier list. Now as our
- 30:05Speaker 3: quarterback here on the show, Matthew Clayton Flynn three names,
- 30:08Speaker 3: so we know what that means. We're going to throw
- 30:11Speaker 3: it to you to see which five that.
- 30:13Speaker 6: You think he really tried to sneak that in last.
- 30:17Speaker 4: Matthew clon Flynn means.
- 30:21Speaker 6: Means I'm on par with Jonathan Taylor.
- 30:25Speaker 2: Sex sales, sex sales.
- 30:27Speaker 4: Baby, you got it? Fan?
- 30:29Speaker 2: Uh So this is according to a.
- 30:31Speaker 5: CBS and you asked me. You asked me, It's like,
- 30:34Speaker 5: can you guess the top five? And I was like, well,
- 30:36Speaker 5: who wrote it? I mean or smart sports? Do they
- 30:40Speaker 5: know anything?
- 30:41Speaker 6: How open is their mouth when they breathed?
- 30:44Speaker 5: Brian DEARDA uh the easy top three quarterbacks in the NFL,
- 30:49Speaker 5: Josh Allen, Patrick, Mahomes, Matthew Stafford.
- 30:52Speaker 4: Those are my three for three. Those are those are
- 30:54Speaker 4: basically my top three. Yeah. I have Alan Homes Stafford
- 30:58Speaker 4: on as well. Yeah, those are the top thing.
- 31:01Speaker 5: I'm gonna say, Joe Burrow, that is correct, And I'm
- 31:05Speaker 5: gonna say tier lists are hard with quarterbacks. I showed
- 31:09Speaker 5: you all that last year. I did it every week
- 31:11Speaker 5: last year during the season. We're gonna do it again
- 31:13Speaker 5: this year. I can't wait. I'm going to predict what
- 31:16Speaker 5: the list says. Yeah, I'm gonna say, Lamar Jackson he
- 31:21Speaker 5: went five for five. Okay, I would have gotten that
- 31:23Speaker 5: one wrong.
- 31:24Speaker 3: I would have thought that they were going to go
- 31:26Speaker 3: something like Drake May or something to be a prisoner.
- 31:29Speaker 6: Of the moment, right, That's why I thought.
- 31:31Speaker 4: Drake May would be on there.
- 31:34Speaker 2: The tier down two. Tier two is borderline Stars. Now
- 31:39Speaker 2: they got twelve of them boys in there.
- 31:41Speaker 4: Yeah, I get that, I get.
- 31:45Speaker 2: I mean, Jalen Hurts is the number one name one.
- 31:47Speaker 5: Here, Caleb Donalds, Jared Goff, Justin Herbert, Jadon Daniels.
- 31:56Speaker 2: Donald, Caleb BONICKX, Jaden Daniels, Jared Goff, Party, Jordan Love,
- 32:02Speaker 2: Justin Herbert, Dak, Drake Made, Trevor Lawns. Yeah, it's all.
- 32:07Speaker 2: It's basically all the other franchise quarterback established franchise quarterbacks.
- 32:14Speaker 4: For sure. Caleb's to me, Caleb, I mean you can make.
- 32:18Speaker 5: An argument for that fifth position, Caleb Williams, Lamar Jackson.
- 32:24Speaker 5: A lot of people will say Jalen Hurts, I will not.
- 32:29Speaker 4: Mm hmm. Sam Darnold for sure, Dak Prescott. Ye, I
- 32:33Speaker 4: didn't say.
- 32:34Speaker 2: Dak is in that list, he said.
- 32:36Speaker 4: In that list of the I'm a bigger fan of
- 32:38Speaker 4: Dak than most people.
- 32:39Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm not. I'm not not a fan. He had
- 32:41Speaker 5: his best statistical year last year.
- 32:43Speaker 3: Now, yeah, he graded out as the fifth highest quarterback
- 32:46Speaker 3: in the NFL.
- 32:46Speaker 4: Last year.
- 32:47Speaker 5: He did have two absolute number one wide receivers. Find
- 32:50Speaker 5: a way to get the ball. Absolutely, he had a
- 32:52Speaker 5: great year last year. I think he's sound as fluid
- 32:56Speaker 5: as I want to see my quarterback being though.
- 32:58Speaker 2: The weapons are there, though, Jake Ferguson's a really good
- 33:01Speaker 2: tight end. Ravonte Williams I honestly didn't like when they
- 33:05Speaker 2: signed him. My heres like he won't good in Denver.
- 33:07Speaker 4: Jake is that is that desk left it up over there.
- 33:10Speaker 6: Talking about the Cowboys.
- 33:12Speaker 2: And he guys, it's always been.
- 33:17Speaker 4: A little bit.
- 33:17Speaker 2: It's always been this high.
- 33:25Speaker 3: I got a I got a quarterback that I feel
- 33:27Speaker 3: like needs to be in these conversations and has never
- 33:29Speaker 3: put in these conversations, and it it never makes sense
- 33:33Speaker 3: to me. It's almost like he was cast away at
- 33:36Speaker 3: one point in his career and then no matter what
- 33:38Speaker 3: he does, Baker, He's just not allowed back in the conversation, No, Baker,
- 33:43Speaker 3: let's see who.
- 33:44Speaker 6: Are cast away?
- 33:45Speaker 3: And I was like, well, just kind of like it's like,
- 33:48Speaker 3: no matter what he does, we have these conversations and
- 33:51Speaker 3: we haven't mentioned his name.
- 33:52Speaker 4: Ye at least I haven't heard it.
- 33:55Speaker 2: I know who it is.
- 33:56Speaker 6: I'm trying to I'm trying to get in your head
- 33:58Speaker 6: right now, and.
- 33:59Speaker 2: You're gonna be brazwory Lands.
- 34:01Speaker 4: Maybe I don't know, you said Trevor Lawrence. You said Baker.
- 34:04Speaker 2: Okay, I think I think you're talking about Daniel Jones.
- 34:07Speaker 4: No, no, no, no way, No.
- 34:10Speaker 3: He needs to be like a part of the first
- 34:12Speaker 3: conversation that we had the five names in the top
- 34:14Speaker 3: of the tier.
- 34:15Speaker 2: Oh, I was thinking a name we haven't mentioned yet.
- 34:17Speaker 6: We haven't.
- 34:18Speaker 3: He needs to be like we might have said it
- 34:20Speaker 3: in passing, but we haven't spent time on it.
- 34:24Speaker 2: Jared Goff Jared Golf, because that is my exact answer
- 34:27Speaker 2: as well.
- 34:29Speaker 3: Like Jared Golf a year ago completed sixty eight percent
- 34:33Speaker 3: of his passes through for forty five hundred plus through
- 34:36Speaker 3: for thirty four touchdowns, second most in the NFL, only
- 34:41Speaker 3: eight interceptions, and we never ever include him in this conversation.
- 34:46Speaker 2: In the top five, Stafford winning in the.
- 34:49Speaker 4: Top one, and he should be. He should be in
- 34:50Speaker 4: the conversation.
- 34:52Speaker 3: He got traded for Stafford, right, we all know that,
- 34:54Speaker 3: and so Stafford won the Super Bowl. Jared Golf did,
- 34:56Speaker 3: and so that's always going to be a part of
- 34:57Speaker 3: his career. But remember when he got trade for Stafford,
- 35:00Speaker 3: he was kind of like the throw into the trade
- 35:03Speaker 3: because they got a first round pick and he'd already
- 35:04Speaker 3: been to a super Bowl in that point. Jared Golf
- 35:08Speaker 3: deserves to be in the conversation now, if you want
- 35:11Speaker 3: to put him in there or not, but think about it.
- 35:13Speaker 3: We have these conversations about top five guys and he
- 35:16Speaker 3: is literally literally never and I'm not talking about just us,
- 35:20Speaker 3: anybody you listen to. He was second in yards, he
- 35:23Speaker 3: was second in touchdowns. He played really well last year.
- 35:28Speaker 3: I don't know what else he's got to do to
- 35:30Speaker 3: be a part of this conversation.
- 35:30Speaker 2: He's thrown for at least forty four hundred yards four
- 35:34Speaker 2: years in a row, and pretty much thirty touchdowns twenty
- 35:37Speaker 2: nine and then thirty thirty seven, thirty four.
- 35:41Speaker 5: It's hard to put him above people when you have
- 35:43Speaker 5: the conversation and when you start thinking about it. Now,
- 35:47Speaker 5: the stats. You can't argue with the stats. And I
- 35:50Speaker 5: think I told you, like making the quarterback top ten
- 35:53Speaker 5: lists was really hard. I think he fell between five
- 35:56Speaker 5: and nine every single week for me, Now your point,
- 36:00Speaker 5: I think I'm only had him at five maybe one
- 36:02Speaker 5: week last year for whatever reason, because it's always like, Okay,
- 36:07Speaker 5: whom I'm putting him in front of? I get it statistically,
- 36:11Speaker 5: but like if I if I am formulating an offense,
- 36:17Speaker 5: would I choose him or I choose this other guy
- 36:19Speaker 5: based on the skill set, based on a lot of
- 36:21Speaker 5: other things.
- 36:22Speaker 2: I think I think Stafford winning the Super Bowl year
- 36:25Speaker 2: one in LA puts it in a lot of people's
- 36:28Speaker 2: head that, oh, they were a super Bowl caliber team.
- 36:30Speaker 2: Jared Golf held him back, Like Jered Golf went to
- 36:32Speaker 2: a super Bowl with that team. He's been incredible in Detroit.
- 36:36Speaker 2: But like, I just think that when you look at
- 36:38Speaker 2: stafford success in LA, that's the that's what makes people
- 36:41Speaker 2: calltion on on.
- 36:41Speaker 3: Jared Golf's tied to Matthew Stafford's success, and we we
- 36:48Speaker 3: kind of judge him based off somebody else's career more
- 36:51Speaker 3: than we do his own career.
- 36:53Speaker 5: I judge him by the eye test. I don't judge
- 36:57Speaker 5: quarterbacks solely on stats. Now that plays a fact there,
- 37:01Speaker 5: but I judge him on the eye test.
- 37:02Speaker 3: They the Detroit Lions relevant though I know Matthew Stafford
- 37:06Speaker 3: could never do.
- 37:07Speaker 5: I think golf is great. I am a I'm a
- 37:11Speaker 5: big fan of him. I would put him over Jalen Hurts,
- 37:13Speaker 5: I'd put him over Lamar Jackson. I'm just saying this
- 37:16Speaker 5: list had him at five.
- 37:17Speaker 4: And I'm not saying, like this is our time.
- 37:20Speaker 5: You could make the argument to put him up like
- 37:21Speaker 5: people are gonna you can make the argument put him
- 37:23Speaker 5: over Joe Burrow.
- 37:24Speaker 3: If if if ESPN was on here in the studio
- 37:27Speaker 3: and they were doing the same kind of not one
- 37:30Speaker 3: panel member would say, bro, he's in.
- 37:32Speaker 2: Like tier three. There's people that don't consider in top ten.
- 37:35Speaker 4: That's that's that's egregious.
- 37:37Speaker 5: That's certainly and again people like I'm looking at this list,
- 37:42Speaker 5: I'm not putting him over Josh Allen, Matthew Stafford, Patrick
- 37:44Speaker 5: Browms and not because I know I hear what you're
- 37:47Speaker 5: saying with Matthew Stafford that he gets tied to him.
- 37:50Speaker 5: Just I've seen Matthew Statter for a long time I've
- 37:52Speaker 5: seen the things that he doesn't like.
- 37:53Speaker 4: I'm not putting him over that. I'm not taking him.
- 37:55Speaker 4: I'm not either. But I'm saying, but Joe.
- 37:57Speaker 5: Burrow, I could hear, and I I could here, Uh,
- 38:00Speaker 5: I can hear an argument for I'm putting Joe Burrow
- 38:03Speaker 5: over him. But you put Jared Goff on the Bengals,
- 38:06Speaker 5: smart Chase probably has as.
- 38:08Speaker 2: Many or just as many yards.
- 38:10Speaker 5: Right, you put Joe Burrow with the Lions, they're probably
- 38:14Speaker 5: just as just as successful. I think those are Lamar Jackson,
- 38:17Speaker 5: Jalen Hurts, Sam Donald. Sam Donald's a good comp though,
- 38:22Speaker 5: just because of a similar game style.
- 38:24Speaker 2: I think Golf is way better than I've been a
- 38:29Speaker 2: little bit of a Donald hater. And yes, he won
- 38:31Speaker 2: the Super Bowl, had sixteen interceptions a year ago. That's
- 38:35Speaker 2: a lot like I like Donald. But I'm not ready
- 38:37Speaker 2: to put it there now.
- 38:40Speaker 5: I might be taking Cayleb Williams over all of them,
- 38:43Speaker 5: everybody we just said besides the top three.
- 38:49Speaker 6: Same.
- 38:50Speaker 4: Yeah, I get that he went to I want. I
- 38:53Speaker 4: get that golf went.
- 38:54Speaker 5: To Super Bowl with LA, but a lot of his
- 38:58Speaker 5: success came out of Ben Johnson and the offense that
- 39:01Speaker 5: was established by Ben Johnson, right, and that's who and
- 39:07Speaker 5: like objectively, with Dan Campbell being the OC for the
- 39:11Speaker 5: and now it's Ben Johnson running Chicago who had developed
- 39:16Speaker 5: the same offense that you're talking about with Jared Goff,
- 39:18Speaker 5: but with objectively a more talented guy.
- 39:20Speaker 4: We measure talent by metrics, right at.
- 39:23Speaker 2: Least more athletic, bare minimum.
- 39:25Speaker 5: Stronger arm. Like, does that mean he's a better quarterback? No,
- 39:30Speaker 5: it doesn't, but I'm just like from the metrics so
- 39:37Speaker 5: and again I've been high on Cai Williams. I think
- 39:39Speaker 5: he's gonna be the next great one. Anyway, NFL is
- 39:47Speaker 5: in a very healthy spot at the quarterback position. That's
- 39:49Speaker 5: why it's fun to talk about this because there's so
- 39:52Speaker 5: many really really good Like we're in a really good spot.
- 39:55Speaker 4: That's why the NFL is so awesome.
- 39:57Speaker 5: Because you don't have a great quarterback play across league,
- 40:00Speaker 5: it's not as much fun. But when you do, when
- 40:03Speaker 5: you see great ones, been like a young, really good
- 40:07Speaker 5: young quarterbacks out there right now that are gonna be
- 40:09Speaker 5: playing football for a long time, so it's exciting to watch.
- 40:12Speaker 5: That's why these that's why these conversations and these lists
- 40:14Speaker 5: are hard to make.
- 40:15Speaker 4: Because there's so many really good ones.
- 40:17Speaker 5: Yeah, and you feel one week, every single week you
- 40:24Speaker 5: feel a little bit differently, which is also super fun.
- 40:28Speaker 5: Then you get to talk about it and give your
- 40:29Speaker 5: opinions and people have different opinions. Who are you taking
- 40:35Speaker 5: Caleb Williams or Lamar Jackson Williams, Caleb Williams or Jared
- 40:47Speaker 5: Goff at this point right now, Jared Goff, I know
- 40:52Speaker 5: like you've you've like you've turned me on to Caleb
- 40:54Speaker 5: Williams in as far as like the things that he
- 40:57Speaker 5: can do that like, there's not a lot of people
- 40:58Speaker 5: walking the earth that can do but until I see
- 41:01Speaker 5: you do it.
- 41:02Speaker 3: But I'm gonna appreciate Jared Golf in this situation. Jared
- 41:05Speaker 3: Golf had more yards, he had more touchdowns, And Caleb
- 41:08Speaker 3: Williams is the thing that I still need to see.
- 41:10Speaker 3: And I know why it's this low I do because
- 41:12Speaker 3: of his style of play. Fifty eight percent completion percentage
- 41:15Speaker 3: has to go way up for me to give Caleb
- 41:19Speaker 3: Williams over Jared Golf.
- 41:21Speaker 2: Yeah, Caleb makes the wild place.
- 41:23Speaker 3: He can make some of that when he's running around
- 41:26Speaker 3: and he's creating and he's buying time. He throws it away,
- 41:28Speaker 3: which is smart. That hurts the completion percentage. But like
- 41:31Speaker 3: if that number gets like sixty three even then I
- 41:34Speaker 3: think it's a different conversation. But Jered golf very efficient
- 41:37Speaker 3: with the football. More yards, more touchdowns, all those things.
- 41:41Speaker 3: But Caleb Williams is coming.
- 41:43Speaker 4: Yeah he is.
- 41:44Speaker 5: Adam in the chest said, really good, young qbs, Like
- 41:47Speaker 5: who exactly.
- 41:48Speaker 3: We'll talk about that because we do not have time
- 41:50Speaker 3: here in this what's left of this segment.
- 41:53Speaker 4: When we come back here on OTV off the bench,
- 41:57Speaker 4: I can give you seven of them, all right.

- 44:22Speaker 4: Lamar is still twenty nine, by.
- 44:23Speaker 2: The way, Yeah, this is this is my Google AI
