- 0:01Speaker 1: Similar, well, everybody since he's in plastic surgery. Everybody now
- 0:09Speaker 1: Doctor Arthur Perry one of the best plastic surgeons on earth.
- 0:12Speaker 1: You can hear him. He's got a radio show here
- 0:14Speaker 1: every Saturday at six o'clock, Doctor Arthur Perry. But he's
- 0:17Speaker 1: really good. And his website is Perry Plasticsurgery dot com,
- 0:22Speaker 1: Perry Plastic Surgery dot com. And he's with us. Actually,
- 0:26Speaker 1: I hate when you're in the studio. I mean, I
- 0:27Speaker 1: love seeing you, but I can tell you looking at me,
- 0:29Speaker 1: going oh I can fix that. Oh that needs fixing.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Just just a few hours in the operating room and
- 0:35Speaker 2: we're all set Mark and and oh look look Mark,
- 0:38Speaker 2: Look what I brought for you. Oh no, what is that?
- 0:41Speaker 2: That's botox. It's botox. I've been threatening one day you're
- 0:44Speaker 2: going to break down. We're actually going to do it
- 0:47Speaker 2: in the studio.
- 0:49Speaker 1: I cry at a flu shot. So I just don't
- 0:51Speaker 1: like this stuff.
- 0:52Speaker 2: It's such a small needle. It's okay, mar.
- 0:54Speaker 1: It is tiny. The needle he showed me is tiny. Now,
- 0:58Speaker 1: and I know a million people they get boat talks
- 1:00Speaker 1: every two seconds. It doesn't bother them at all.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Ten million people last year in the United States. That's
- 1:05Speaker 2: a lot of people. It is so popular. He's looking
- 1:10Speaker 2: at me.
- 1:11Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:12Speaker 2: I will do it someday. Well, you know, we'll get
- 1:15Speaker 2: them there. Now, let me ask you a question. There's
- 1:16Speaker 2: a couple of these hotshot plastic surgeons. I don't know
- 1:19Speaker 2: that they're great. I see them in the newspaper all
- 1:20Speaker 2: the time. They're in the gossip comms, which is usually
- 1:22Speaker 2: a bad sign. But one of them, somebody calls it's
- 1:25Speaker 2: like two hundred three hundred thousand for a Facebook. That's crazy.
- 1:29Speaker 2: That's crazy. That is absolutely crazy. And you know, I
- 1:31Speaker 2: mean the truth is, how do people get in the
- 1:34Speaker 2: magazines and on TV? They get pr agents And it
- 1:37Speaker 2: doesn't necessarily mean they're the best. Some of the best
- 1:39Speaker 2: plastic surgeons I know no one's ever heard of because
- 1:42Speaker 2: they're full time faculty members. They are the best. You've
- 1:46Speaker 2: never heard of them. And yet you know the one
- 1:48Speaker 2: hundred thousand, two hundred thousand dollars face off crazy mark.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Yeah, so you don't have to spend that time, No,
- 1:53Speaker 1: you do not.
- 1:54Speaker 2: That is a true anomaly in the world, and there
- 1:56Speaker 2: are only a few people that could either get away
- 1:59Speaker 2: with that or find people should I say, stupid enough
- 2:03Speaker 2: to pay that kind of money, that's crazy.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Well yeah, and that's uh those it's those people that go,
- 2:08Speaker 1: I saw him in the pay Perry must be good
- 2:10Speaker 1: and then they pay that kind of money. But yeah,
- 2:13Speaker 1: doctor Arthur Perry, you can you can trust him. You
- 2:15Speaker 1: want to go to him. Now, speaking of facelift, that
- 2:17Speaker 1: look at that. If I lift my face like that
- 2:19Speaker 1: looks better? All right, Yes, yep, we gotta do it. Mark,
- 2:22Speaker 1: come on, come on, But four hours and you're a
- 2:27Speaker 1: changed man. But four hours, well that's how a facelift is.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Three or four hours.
- 2:32Speaker 2: But honestly, Mark, there are much simpler ways to look better.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Here.
- 2:36Speaker 2: It is the fall. Right, we're in October. We've gone
- 2:38Speaker 2: through the summer. Everyone was out having parties and on
- 2:42Speaker 2: the beach. Now we're getting ready for Thanksgiving and and
- 2:46Speaker 2: the Christmas season. Right, everyone wants to look good. But
- 2:48Speaker 2: there are some really simple things that you can do
- 2:50Speaker 2: to look good. And people just forget the little growth
- 2:54Speaker 2: on the face. Everybody's got kind of a zoo growing
- 2:57Speaker 2: on their face. Mark, you know, moles and sebary character
- 3:00Speaker 2: and the simple simple thing that you can do doesn't
- 3:04Speaker 2: cost a lot of money. You go in for a
- 3:05Speaker 2: session with a plastic surgeon and look better. You know,
- 3:08Speaker 2: I looked at some statistics. Forty percent of adults are single.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Did you know that?
- 3:13Speaker 1: Wow?
- 3:14Speaker 2: Forty percent, and it goes to like forty six percent
- 3:17Speaker 2: over the age of sixty. That's a lot of single people.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Everybody's a lot of happy people too. But everybody wants
- 3:24Speaker 2: to look better, right, you do. You know we we
- 3:27Speaker 2: see people on TV and in the movies and they're
- 3:31Speaker 2: not they're not unattractive, right. There's so you know, you
- 3:35Speaker 2: can make whatever judgments you want, but the truth is
- 3:38Speaker 2: we'd like to look at prettier and better looking people. Right.
- 3:41Speaker 2: So it's so simple to just clean up the things
- 3:43Speaker 2: on your skin, that's number one, and a good skincare
- 3:45Speaker 2: program that will take you a long way to looking better.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Yeah. We all know somebody with a big mole or
- 3:51Speaker 1: something's sticking out a little and that's not surgery, that's just.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Well, it's it's surgery. It's minor surgery, but it's in
- 3:58Speaker 2: the office and you know, forty five minutes later it's
- 4:00Speaker 2: gone and you look so much better. The psychologists use
- 4:03Speaker 2: this term called cognitive dissonance. You know, that's where you
- 4:07Speaker 2: look at someone and there's something wrong and you can't
- 4:09Speaker 2: quite put your finger on it. But it's the asymmetry
- 4:12Speaker 2: that a mole creates, or maybe a big brown mole
- 4:15Speaker 2: with hair. You know, no one likes that. Get rid
- 4:17Speaker 2: of those things. They're so easy, and some of those
- 4:20Speaker 2: could be cancer. So you know, it's a good idea.
- 4:22Speaker 2: You get two benefits. You have a medical benefit and
- 4:25Speaker 2: a cosmetic benefit when you do those things.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Now, I could look at them here, I could see
- 4:28Speaker 1: three things I could fix you look at me, you
- 4:30Speaker 1: see like forty two things. Right, it's a project mark.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Now, but everybody as you get older, look, we all
- 4:38Speaker 2: age right.
- 4:39Speaker 1: All right, So if I got a facelift like that,
- 4:41Speaker 1: it's four hours. Now, then what happens how long before
- 4:43Speaker 1: I look normal and go to work?
- 4:45Speaker 2: Well, you're out of work for about two weeks, that's it,
- 4:48Speaker 2: you know. And now with masks, yeah, maybe you get
- 4:51Speaker 2: in a little sooner now about two weeks really, and
- 4:54Speaker 2: it's it's a pretty easy recovery. No pain medicine other
- 4:56Speaker 2: than tile til bad word now, but.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Ha, tile and all not a painful thing.
- 5:02Speaker 2: No, it doesn't hurt afterwards, honestly, in a scale of
- 5:05Speaker 2: one to ten. A facelifts is somewhere between one and three.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Wow. Yeah, okay, Now these bags under my eyes, if
- 5:10Speaker 1: I want to get rid of those.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Even easier, Mar. Yeah, so there's some extra I'm looking at.
- 5:16Speaker 2: You've got some extra skin of your lower islands. You've
- 5:19Speaker 2: got some fat in the lower islands, your upper island,
- 5:21Speaker 2: look at your upper islands. Mark, there's extra skin. It's
- 5:24Speaker 2: almost an emergency. That's about two and a half three hours.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Look these procedures, by the way, under local anesthesia, we
- 5:33Speaker 2: don't need to use general antesesia. It's nice, smooth intravenous
- 5:38Speaker 2: sedation like with your colon os could be, except no
- 5:41Speaker 2: tubes in the other side.
- 5:43Speaker 1: There.
- 5:43Speaker 2: It's a nice RESTful thing and it doesn't hurt, and
- 5:48Speaker 2: then you come out. You look terrible though, for about
- 5:50Speaker 2: two weeks because you're bruised and swollen, and then you
- 5:52Speaker 2: look great, and for.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Two weeks you got to put ice on it and
- 5:54Speaker 1: all that kind of stuff.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Now the ice actually, interestingly, we don't use ice anymore.
- 5:58Speaker 2: You shouldn't use ice because some people get frostbite injuries
- 6:01Speaker 2: and there's no benefit to it.
- 6:02Speaker 1: So you just recovering. Yeah, yeah, okay, what else Okay,
- 6:07Speaker 1: if you're a woman breasts, Now what's the trend now?
- 6:10Speaker 1: Is it bigger, smaller?
- 6:12Speaker 2: Well, certainly smaller than it used to be. You know,
- 6:16Speaker 2: it's always funny, Mark, you know when you see women
- 6:19Speaker 2: that have these enormous implants, like I saw one of
- 6:22Speaker 2: their Kardashians and these implants are up by her clavigals,
- 6:26Speaker 2: by her collar bone. That's crazy. That would be considered
- 6:29Speaker 2: a complication in cosmetic surgery. And yet I've had people
- 6:33Speaker 2: ask me to put implants that way. I say, I
- 6:35Speaker 2: can't do that, that's that's wrong, and they say, well,
- 6:38Speaker 2: the celebrities have it that way. It's like, oh my goodness.
- 6:40Speaker 2: You know, so now we're redefining what beauty is based on.
- 6:45Speaker 2: You know, this group of people from California who who
- 6:48Speaker 2: had bad cosmetic surgery. But you know, everybody sees it.
- 6:51Speaker 2: It's crazy. Yeah that we're talking to doctor Arthur Perry.
- 6:54Speaker 2: He's a great plastic surgeon. But there are bad ones.
- 6:57Speaker 2: So I see people I know they had a facelift
- 6:58Speaker 2: and they look phenomenal. It looked so natural. Then you
- 7:01Speaker 2: see the other ones who looks tight and plastic and
- 7:03Speaker 2: like muppets, like Boca ratan face of well, how do
- 7:07Speaker 2: you avoid that?
- 7:07Speaker 1: How do you know you're not going to get that?
- 7:09Speaker 2: You know, there's artistry in this. You know, we can
- 7:11Speaker 2: teach plastic surgeons how to operate, we can teach you
- 7:14Speaker 2: how to be good doctors. But the artistry, the artistry
- 7:17Speaker 2: is very difficult to teach. You know, either you're an
- 7:20Speaker 2: artist or you're not. And it doesn't take much to
- 7:23Speaker 2: pull a little bit too tight and you look funny.
- 7:26Speaker 2: And you know that's the hardest part to teach. I
- 7:28Speaker 2: teach over at the Colombian and Cornell at the Plastic
- 7:31Speaker 2: Surgery Residency program. And and you know that it's like ethics.
- 7:36Speaker 2: How can you teach ethics? Very difficult? Your mother has
- 7:38Speaker 2: to teach that. And artistry it's almost innate. You can
- 7:41Speaker 2: learn it. But and that's where you know, defining the
- 7:44Speaker 2: plastic surgeon a good or a great one, it's the
- 7:48Speaker 2: ability to create art with you as the media.
- 7:52Speaker 1: You got to have the hands. Guys. Hey, that's another thing.
- 7:54Speaker 1: If you get in botox, everybody does it. Now, do
- 7:57Speaker 1: not go to the hairdresser or the dentist for botox, right,
- 8:00Speaker 1: make sure it's a plastic surgeon who knows what he's doing.
- 8:02Speaker 2: And beware of the really inexpensive botox because there's fake
- 8:06Speaker 2: stuff out there. There's there is you know, gray market
- 8:10Speaker 2: that means it comes from other countries. You have no
- 8:12Speaker 2: idea what it really is. You have to be careful.
- 8:14Speaker 2: You know, if botox costs six hundred dollars a vile
- 8:16Speaker 2: how is it that these storefront places are charging two
- 8:20Speaker 2: or three hundred. You know, something's wrong.
- 8:23Speaker 1: And it's easier now to do plastic search right than
- 8:27Speaker 1: like thirty years ago. The equipment's better, the techniques are better, right.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Well, there's absolutely there's refined techniques, you know, we you know,
- 8:34Speaker 2: surgical techniques are are certainly better now. For instance, the
- 8:38Speaker 2: facelift that you want so much before, you know, ten
- 8:41Speaker 2: fifteen years ago, we had to make incisions way up
- 8:44Speaker 2: into the hairline. Now we don't have to do that anymore.
- 8:46Speaker 2: We figured out ways. It's a little harder for the
- 8:48Speaker 2: plastic surgeon, but better for you facelift.
- 8:51Speaker 1: It's not for me, it's for a friend ou Oh okay,
- 8:54Speaker 1: but take a look that would be now what do
- 8:56Speaker 1: I do my next? A little saggy? All right?
- 8:58Speaker 2: So for men it's different. So for you, I could
- 9:01Speaker 2: suction out that fat. Okay, let me turn to the sidemark.
- 9:06Speaker 2: You know your chin is good, so we don't need that.
- 9:08Speaker 2: So we suction it out and we bring those muscles together.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Remember Catherine Hepburn, you know those bands in the neck, Yeah,
- 9:14Speaker 2: bring those together and the tighter we bring those. Then
- 9:17Speaker 2: you know your neck looks slimmer and better. So that's
- 9:20Speaker 2: so you put a hole in the it's a small
- 9:23Speaker 2: incision under the chin mark. There's no although although there
- 9:28Speaker 2: is a method for men where we actually do just
- 9:30Speaker 2: excize that skin. That's a simpler way. I might have
- 9:33Speaker 2: that myself. You know, it's one of these just take
- 9:36Speaker 2: out that skin right there and place an incision in
- 9:39Speaker 2: the middle. Not good for women, but it works in men,
- 9:41Speaker 2: particularly if you don't want a bigger procedure. It's a
- 9:43Speaker 2: smaller perce.
- 9:44Speaker 1: How long does that take.
- 9:45Speaker 2: It's a little under two hours. And how you don't
- 9:48Speaker 2: want the surgeon to rush two weeks of recovery. Everything
- 9:51Speaker 2: is about two weeks. Although if you're just doing the
- 9:53Speaker 2: neck with turtlenecks, maybe a scarf as it's getting warmer,
- 9:57Speaker 2: older out there, rather yeah, you could probably hide or
- 10:00Speaker 2: you could probably pull it off. In about a week
- 10:02Speaker 2: and you know what, Mark w Or will set up
- 10:04Speaker 2: the studio in your home. You know, you just there
- 10:07Speaker 2: you go the little comrades you can broadcast three days later.
- 10:11Speaker 2: What do you say, listeners, tell tell, We'll get Mark
- 10:15Speaker 2: to do it.
- 10:16Speaker 1: Oh, but you know they just banned. Uh. North Korea
- 10:20Speaker 1: has banned cosmetic surgery. Yeah.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not something, it's it's a It must be
- 10:25Speaker 2: good if they banned Oh my goodness. Yeah, breast augmentations.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Facelifts can't do it because it it goes against the
- 10:32Speaker 2: socialist agenda. That's what. What's his name, Kim John.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Kim Jong Moon.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, so I guess if you want cosmetic surgery,
- 10:39Speaker 2: don't do it in North Korea, although South Korea very popular.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Mark. Well, now, if you need anything anything, we do
- 10:46Speaker 1: recommend doctor Arthur Perry. It's go to your website.
