- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: The drama that really just should not exist.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_00]: We will get to the bottom of exactly what is happening.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_00]: It's really not all that complex, but we're gonna dive into it very frustrating just to witness all the lunacy on online and even on major,
- 0:29[SPEAKER_00]: TV platforms, including NFL network, just people not paying attention.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_00]: But we'll dive into it.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate you all being here.

- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: Look, good while doing it.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_00]: You can also hit that high button.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_00]: So look, everybody's talking about Travis Hunter's no longer playing both sides of the ball.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: It's disappointing.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_00]: People are saying, oh, he's a gadget receiver.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_00]: Literally the host of whatever NFL network show is called in the morning now.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: I don't pay attention much of that anymore.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_00]: Brand, saying it's just disappointing that Travis Hunter's not playing both sides of the ball anymore.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_00]: At what point have the Jag war has ever indicated that Travis Hunter's not playing both sides of the ball?
- 1:26[SPEAKER_00]: When has that happened?
- 1:31[SPEAKER_00]: And you've got frickin' former NFL players going on social media.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think like, Brandon Fahoko, a couple of others, that are talking about, oh, well, this is how the league works.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: The team, people know before you do media knows before you do.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: because Travis Hunter went on Twitter yesterday that day before and was responding to the people talking about him not playing both sides of the ball and he's like where you get that.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: He's still playing both sides of the ball.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: He is.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: The jackwares have talked about him still playing both sides of the ball.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: What the jackwares have said is that
- 2:06[SPEAKER_00]: This goes back to early February, late January, you know, right after the season ended, James Lads Stone said, when you look at our roster, it'll probably be playing a little bit more corner than wide receiver, and that is paraphrase, and that's not the exact quote.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: He basically said, when you look at the depth chart, the free agent, some stuff like that, like you probably expect a little more corner.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_00]: But that shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, really.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: like that was always possible.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_00]: And I still think even though it's a little more corner, a little less wide receiver, which is the reverse of what happened last year, it was more wide receiver last year and less corner, which I think was in part due to,
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: The roster complexion at the time and the fact that he was further along that corner.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: They said that they admitted that they knew that he was further along at corner.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't feel like he needed to have this ramp up period at corner and he didn't.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_00]: Because when he was out there at corner, he was playing very good football.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: He was a really good cover corner as a rookie.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_00]: And the one blim-ish, I think you can put out there, was actually a play where he made a great play against the Bengals late in the game.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: He made an unbelievable passbreak up down the field and they called him for PI and it wasn't even close to PI.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: So I think as a corner, he's locked and loaded and we've talked about, I said I would not be surprised.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: If he's a top five corner very quickly, I think he is a top 10 corner right now and it's not just blowing smoke.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_00]: Coming out of college, I thought he was the best prospect that I'd ever seen.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: I think he is a great corner.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think he has the physical ability to be a great receiver as well.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_00]: What happened last year, a little bit with receiver was they were using him in a lot of underneath stuff.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: Not pushing the ball down the field as much with him.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously Trevor Lawrence was trying to learn the offense.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter was trying to learn how to play, receive a ready professional level.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_00]: He wasn't asked to play in a timing-based offense really all that much.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: And so on these outrouts, where it is precise timing, that's where I really kind of saw where Travis Hunter, I think, needed to just improve on the detail of it.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_00]: And look, he was probably swimming.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_00]: There was a lot going on.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_00]: But ended up having the injury, missed the back half of the season.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_00]: He's recovering from the LCL.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to play a little more corner this year than he does wider silver.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_00]: I think most NFL draft analysts wanted it to be that way, like full-time corner part-time receiver.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_00]: But where does the word gadget come from?
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: Gadget receiver.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_00]: I have no clue whatever the heck his name is from NFL Network.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: saying he's disappointed he's no longer playing on both sides of all what so forget about that now let's go to the gadget thing which I think was from a aggregator news source type guy on Twitter just just like aggregation reporter reporter uh there was no mention of him being a gadget player I think
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: If you're trying to take the word part time and make that mean gadget, that's just a wild leap, a truly wild leap because gadget, the word gadget when talking about a receiver implies that he's out there for some very, very specific kind of almost like,
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: plays that don't fall within the normal context of the offense, and I think that there might be some plays that are just straight up designed for Travis Hunter.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: We saw that last year, a few times, where they just gave him like a two-way go, and they're like, go make a play, and he did.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think in any way, shape or form is his usage, gadgetty moving forward.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think that what they were trying to do last year was get him to really understand how to play slot receiver in this offense.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: And the word gadget came out of thin air this year.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: It really did.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's pretty crazy.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: But I think that they're working on him developing as a receiver.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that the Jaguar's changing their corner back coach was a coincidence.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they want all of their corners to play at a higher level within the context of Anthony Camponele's system.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_00]: And that's why they got rid of Ron Milas and why they brought in Matthew Arrujo to be the defensive pass game coordinator.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_00]: He's somebody with experience within this system and somebody that Anthony Camponele has worked with.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_00]: and gotten a lot of good results out of in the second air.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_00]: So I am excited about Travis Hunter.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: I cannot wait to see him play football because every time he's on the football field, whether you're at practice or in a game setting, there's excitement, there's juice, there's energy.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_00]: I love seeing that, and beyond what is he playing, which it's clear, he's playing cornering in wider silver,
- 7:49[SPEAKER_00]: I still think going back to that night, a year ago, when the Jaguar has made that trade, the entire NFL world was excited about it.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, some people blasted the Jaguar, some people said it was too much to give up.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: I still think it's going to end up looking good for the Jags.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think Travis Hunter is that dude.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_00]: And if he's a all pro corner and a good third receiver, fourth receiver, productive, it's gonna look really good.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: It's gonna look great, fantastic.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: He's a star.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_00]: I cannot wait to see him play more football.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_00]: People are lazy, people don't care what they say.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_00]: And that's just like a symptom of the culture we're in right now.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_00]: People don't care.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_00]: Um, what, these are the context of things.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_00]: They don't care what's true.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_00]: They don't care what's accurate.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: They just care about having something to say.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: And that's really unfortunate.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully all of y'all out there are a little bit more on the side of like, what are the facts?
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: What does the team actually saying?
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: What does tribe is hunting?
- 9:04[SPEAKER_00]: What are we seeing?
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: Or is this just this nonsense, you see on social media from former players?
- 9:12[SPEAKER_00]: from aggregator reporters from NFL network hosts.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all being here.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully we don't have to talk about this again too much in the future.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_00]: Probably will.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: It just seems to keep coming up.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_00]: But again, really appreciate y'all support.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe y'all for good one.
