- 2:01Speaker 1: unto the Babylonian removal fourteen generations, and from the Babylonian
- 2:06Speaker 1: removal unto the Christ fourteen generations, and of Jesus Christ.
- 2:11Speaker 1: The birth was thus for his mother, Mary, having been
- 2:15Speaker 1: betrothed to Joseph. Before their coming together, she was found
- 2:18Speaker 1: to have conceived from the Holy Spirit, and Joseph, her husband,
- 2:22Speaker 1: being righteous and not willing to make her an example,
- 2:25Speaker 1: did wish privately to send her away. And on his
- 2:29Speaker 1: thinking of these things, Lo, a messenger of the Lord,
- 2:32Speaker 1: in a dream, appeared to him, saying, Joseph, son of David,
- 2:35Speaker 1: thou mayest not fear to receive Mary, thy wife, for
- 2:39Speaker 1: that which in her was begotten is of the Holy Spirit.
- 2:42Speaker 1: And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt
- 2:45Speaker 1: call his name Jesus, for he shall save his people
- 2:49Speaker 1: from their sins. And all this hath come to pass,
- 2:53Speaker 1: that it may be fulfilled that was spoken by the
- 2:55Speaker 1: Lord through the prophet, saying, Lo, the Virgin shall conceive,
- 2:59Speaker 1: and she shall bring forth son, and they shall call
- 3:01Speaker 1: his name Immanuel, which is being interpreted with us he
- 3:05Speaker 1: is God. And Joseph, having risen from the sleep, did
- 3:09Speaker 1: as the messenger of the Lord directed him, and received
- 3:12Speaker 1: his wife, and did not know her until she brought
- 3:15Speaker 1: forth her son, the firstborn, and he called his name Jesus.

- 3:42Speaker 2: literal translation Chapter two and Jesus having been born in
- 3:47Speaker 2: Bethlehem of Judea. In the days of Herod, the King
- 3:51Speaker 2: i Magis from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, where
- 3:57Speaker 2: is he who was born King of the Jews? For
- 4:00Speaker 2: we saw his star in the east, and we came
- 4:02Speaker 2: to bow to him. And Herod, the King, having heard,
- 4:07Speaker 2: was stirred, and all Jerusalem with him, and having gathered
- 4:12Speaker 2: all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he
- 4:16Speaker 2: was inquiring from them where the Christ is born? And
- 4:21Speaker 2: they said to him in Bethlehem of Judea. For thus
- 4:25Speaker 2: it hath been written through the Prophet, And thou Bethlehem
- 4:30Speaker 2: the land of Judah. Thou art by no means the
- 4:34Speaker 2: least among the leaders of Judah. For out of thee
- 4:38Speaker 2: shall come one leading who shall feed my people Israel.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Then Herod, privately, having called the meges, did inquire exactly
- 4:50Speaker 2: from them the time of the appearing star, and having
- 4:54Speaker 2: sent them to Bethlehem, he said, having gone inquire year
- 5:00Speaker 2: exactly for the child, and whenever ye may have found,
- 5:04Speaker 2: bring me backward, that I, also, having come, may bow
- 5:09Speaker 2: to him. And they, having heard the king departed, and
- 5:15Speaker 2: lo the star that they did see in the east,
- 5:19Speaker 2: did go before them, till having come it stood over
- 5:23Speaker 2: where the child was. And having seen the star, they
- 5:28Speaker 2: rejoiced with exceeding great joy. And having come to the house,
- 5:34Speaker 2: they found the child with Mary, his mother, and having
- 5:38Speaker 2: fallen down, they bowed to him, and having opened their treasures,
- 5:44Speaker 2: they presented to him gifts gold and frank andcense and mirror,
- 5:49Speaker 2: And having been divinely warmed in a dream not to
- 5:53Speaker 2: turn back and to Herod through another way, they withdrew
- 5:57Speaker 2: to their own region. And on their having withdrawn lo
- 6:03Speaker 2: a messenger of the Lord doth appear in a dream
- 6:07Speaker 2: to Joseph, saying, having risen, take the child and his
- 6:12Speaker 2: mother and flee to Egypt, and be thou there till
- 6:16Speaker 2: I may speak to thee for Herod is about to
- 6:20Speaker 2: seek the child to destroy him. And he, having risen,
- 6:26Speaker 2: took the child and his mother by night and withdrew
- 6:29Speaker 2: to Egypt. And he was there till the death of Herod,
- 6:34Speaker 2: that it might be fulfilled that was spoken by the
- 6:36Speaker 2: Lord through the Prophet, saying, out of Egypt, I did
- 6:42Speaker 2: call my son. Then Herod, having seen that he was
- 6:47Speaker 2: deceived by the mages, was very wroth, and having sent forth,
- 6:53Speaker 2: he slew all the male children in Bethlehem and in
- 6:57Speaker 2: all its borders from two years and under, according to
- 7:02Speaker 2: the time that he inquired exactly from the majes. Then
- 7:08Speaker 2: was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying,
- 7:14Speaker 2: a voice in rama was heard lamentation and weeping, and
- 7:18Speaker 2: much mourning. Rachel weeping for her children, and she would
- 7:23Speaker 2: not be comforted because they are not. And Herod, having died,
- 7:30Speaker 2: lo a messenger of the Lord, in a dream, doth
- 7:34Speaker 2: appear to Joseph in Egypt, saying, having risen, take the
- 7:39Speaker 2: child and his mother, and be going to the land
- 7:42Speaker 2: of Israel, for they have died. Though seeking the life
- 7:47Speaker 2: of the child. And he, having risen, took the child
- 7:52Speaker 2: and his mother and came to the land of Israel.
- 7:56Speaker 2: And having heard that Archelus doth reign over Judea in
- 8:00Speaker 2: that of Herod his father, he was afraid to go thither,
- 8:03Speaker 2: And having been divinely warned in the dream he withdrew
- 8:07Speaker 2: to the parts of Galilee, and coming he dwelt in
- 8:11Speaker 2: a city named Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled that
- 8:15Speaker 2: was spoken through the prophets, that a Nazarene he shall
- 8:19Speaker 2: be called. End of chapter two, read by Iswail in

- 8:48Speaker 3: Little Translation Chapter three. And in those days cometh John
- 8:54Speaker 3: the Baptist, proclaiming in the wilderness of Judea, and saying, reform,
- 8:59Speaker 3: for come nigh hath the reign of the heavens. For
- 9:03Speaker 3: this is he who was spoken of by Isaiah the prophet, saying,
- 9:07Speaker 3: a voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye
- 9:10Speaker 3: the way of the Lord straight, make ye his paths.
- 9:14Speaker 3: And this John had his clothing of camel's hair and
- 9:18Speaker 3: a girdle of skin round his loins, and his nourishment
- 9:21Speaker 3: was locusts and honey of the field. Then were going
- 9:25Speaker 3: forth unto him Jerusalem and all Judaea, in all the
- 9:28Speaker 3: region round about the Jordan. And they were baptized in
- 9:32Speaker 3: the Jordan by him confessing their sins. And having seen
- 9:36Speaker 3: many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming about his baptism,
- 9:41Speaker 3: he said to them, brood of vipers, who did show
- 9:44Speaker 3: you to flee from the coming wrath, bear therefore fruits
- 9:49Speaker 3: worthy of the Reformation. And do not think to say
- 9:52Speaker 3: in yourselves, a father, we have Abraham. For I say
- 9:57Speaker 3: to you that God is able out of these stones
- 10:00Speaker 3: to raise children to Abraham. And now also the axe
- 10:04Speaker 3: unto the root of the trees is laid. Every tree
- 10:08Speaker 3: therefore not bearing good fruit, is hewn down, and to
- 10:11Speaker 3: fire is cast. I indeed do baptize you with water
- 10:16Speaker 3: to reformation. But he who after me is coming is
- 10:19Speaker 3: mightier than I, of whom I am not worthy to
- 10:23Speaker 3: bear the sandals. He shall baptize you with the Holy
- 10:26Speaker 3: Spirit and with fire, whose fan is in his hand.
- 10:31Speaker 3: And he will thoroughly cleanse his floor, and will gather
- 10:35Speaker 3: his wheat to the storehouse. But the chaff he will
- 10:39Speaker 3: burn with fire unquenchable. Then cometh Jesus from Galilee upon
- 10:43Speaker 3: the Jordan unto John to be baptized by him. But
- 10:48Speaker 3: John was forbidding him, saying, I have need by THEE
- 10:51Speaker 3: to be baptized, and thou dost come unto me. But Jesus, answering,
- 10:57Speaker 3: said to him, suffer now, for thus, yes, it is
- 11:00Speaker 3: becoming to us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he doth
- 11:04Speaker 3: suffer him. And having been baptized, Jesus went up immediately
- 11:09Speaker 3: from the water, and lo opened to him were the heavens,
- 11:13Speaker 3: and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a
- 11:17Speaker 3: dove in coming upon him, and lo a voice out
- 11:21Speaker 3: of the heavens, saying, this is my son, the Beloved
- 11:25Speaker 3: in whom I did delight. End of chapter three, Chapter
- 11:37Speaker 3: four of Matthew This is a LibriVox recording. All LibriVox

- 11:53Speaker 3: Chapter four. Then Jesus was led up to the wilderness
- 11:57Speaker 3: by the spirit to be tempted by the devil, and
- 12:00Speaker 3: having fasted forty days and forty nights afterwards, he did hunger.
- 12:06Speaker 3: And the tempter, having come to him, said, if son,
- 12:09Speaker 3: thou art of God speak that these stones may become loaves.
- 12:14Speaker 3: But he answering, said it hath been written. Not upon
- 12:19Speaker 3: bread alone doth man live, but upon every word coming
- 12:23Speaker 3: forth from the mouth of God. Then doth the devil
- 12:27Speaker 3: take him to the Holy City, and doth set him
- 12:30Speaker 3: on the pinnacle of the temple, and saith to him,
- 12:34Speaker 3: if son, thou art of God, cast thyself down. For
- 12:38Speaker 3: it hath been written that his messengers he shall charge
- 12:43Speaker 3: concerning thee, and on hands they shall bear thee up,
- 12:47Speaker 3: that thou mayest not dash on a stone thy foot.
- 12:51Speaker 3: Jesus said to him again, it hath been written, thou
- 12:55Speaker 3: shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. Again, doth the
- 13:00Speaker 3: devil take him to a very pigh mount, and doth
- 13:03Speaker 3: show to him all the kingdoms of the world and
- 13:06Speaker 3: the glory of them, And saith to him all these
- 13:10Speaker 3: to thee I will give. If falling down thou mayest
- 13:14Speaker 3: bow to me, then saith Jesus to him, go adversary,
- 13:19Speaker 3: For it hath been written the Lord thy God, thou
- 13:23Speaker 3: shalt bow to, and him only thou shalt serve. Then
- 13:28Speaker 3: doth the devil leave him? And lo messengers came and
- 13:31Speaker 3: were ministering to him, and Jesus, having heard that John
- 13:35Speaker 3: was delivered up, did withdraw to Galilee, and having left Nazareth,
- 13:41Speaker 3: having come, he dwelt at Capernaum, that is, by the sea,
- 13:45Speaker 3: in the borders of Zebulun and Naphtalim, that it might
- 13:48Speaker 3: be fulfilled that was spoken through Isaiah the Prophet, saying,
- 13:52Speaker 3: land of Zebulun and land of Neptali, way of the
- 13:56Speaker 3: sea beyond the Jordan Galilee of the nations. The people
- 14:01Speaker 3: that is sitting in darkness saw a great light, and
- 14:04Speaker 3: to those sitting in a region and shadow of death,
- 14:07Speaker 3: light arose to them. From that time began Jesus to
- 14:12Speaker 3: proclaim and to say reform ye, forcome nigh hath the
- 14:16Speaker 3: reign of the heavens. And Jesus, walking by the sea
- 14:20Speaker 3: of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon named Peter and Andrew
- 14:24Speaker 3: his brother, casting a drag into the sea, for they
- 14:28Speaker 3: were fishers. And he saith to them, come ye after me,
- 14:33Speaker 3: and I will make you fishers of men. And they, immediately,
- 14:37Speaker 3: having left the nets, did follow him. And having advanced,
- 14:42Speaker 3: thence he saw other two brothers, James of Zebedee and John,
- 14:47Speaker 3: his brother in the boat was Zebede, their father, refitting
- 14:51Speaker 3: their nets. And he called to them, and they immediately,
- 14:55Speaker 3: having left the boat, and their father did follow him.
- 14:59Speaker 3: And Jesus was going about all Galilee, teaching in their
- 15:02Speaker 3: synagogues and proclaiming the good news of the reign, and
- 15:06Speaker 3: healing every disease and every malady among the people. And
- 15:11Speaker 3: his fame went forth to all Syria, and they brought
- 15:15Speaker 3: to him all having ailments pressed with manifold sicknesses and pains,
- 15:20Speaker 3: and demoniacs and lunatics and paralytics, and he healed them.
- 15:25Speaker 3: And there followed him many multitudes from Galilee and decapitalists,
- 15:30Speaker 3: and Jerusalem, and Judea, and beyond the Jordan. End of
- 15:35Speaker 3: chapter four. Chapter five of Matthew This is a LibriVox recording.

- 15:57Speaker 3: Young's literal translation five. And having seen the multitudes, he
- 16:03Speaker 3: went up to the mount, and he, having sat down,
- 16:07Speaker 3: his disciples came to him, and having opened his mouth,
- 16:11Speaker 3: he was teaching them, saying, happy the poor in spirit,
- 16:15Speaker 3: because theirs is the rain of the heavens. Happy the
- 16:19Speaker 3: morning because they shall be comforted. Happy, the meek because
- 16:24Speaker 3: they shall inherit the land. Happy, those hungering and thirsting
- 16:29Speaker 3: for righteousness because they shall be filled. Happy, the kind
- 16:34Speaker 3: because they shall find kindness. Happy, the clean in heart
- 16:39Speaker 3: because they shall seek God. Happy the peacemakers because they
- 16:44Speaker 3: shall be called sons of God. Happy those persecuted for
- 16:49Speaker 3: righteousness sake, because theirs is the rain of the heavens.
- 16:53Speaker 3: Happier Ye, whenever they may reproach you, and may persecute,
- 16:58Speaker 3: and may say any evil thing against you falsely for
- 17:01Speaker 3: my sake, Rejoice ye, and be glad, because your reward
- 17:06Speaker 3: is great in the heavens. For thus did they persecute
- 17:09Speaker 3: the prophets who were before you. Ye are the salt
- 17:14Speaker 3: of the land. But if the salt may lose savor
- 17:17Speaker 3: in what shall it be salted? For nothing is it
- 17:20Speaker 3: good henceforth, except to be cast without and to be
- 17:24Speaker 3: trodden down by men. Ye are the light of the world.
- 17:28Speaker 3: A city set upon a mount is not able to
- 17:31Speaker 3: be hid. Nor do they light a lamp and put
- 17:34Speaker 3: it under the measure, But on the lamp stand and
- 17:37Speaker 3: it shineth to all those in the house. So let
- 17:41Speaker 3: your light shine before men, that they may see your
- 17:44Speaker 3: good works and may glorify your Father, who is in
- 17:47Speaker 3: the heavens. Do not suppose that I came to throw
- 17:51Speaker 3: down the law or the prophets. I did not come
- 17:54Speaker 3: to throw down, but to fulfill. For verily, I say
- 17:58Speaker 3: to you, till that that the heaven and the earth
- 18:01Speaker 3: may pass away, one iota or one tittle may not
- 18:05Speaker 3: pass away from the law, till that all may come
- 18:09Speaker 3: to pass. Whoever therefore may lose one of these commands
- 18:14Speaker 3: the least and may teach men, so least he shall
- 18:18Speaker 3: be called in the reign of the heavens. But whoever
- 18:21Speaker 3: may do and may teach them, he shall be called
- 18:24Speaker 3: great in the reign of the heavens. For I say
- 18:28Speaker 3: to you that if your righteousness may not abound above
- 18:32Speaker 3: that of the scribes and pharisees, ye may not enter
- 18:36Speaker 3: to the reign of the heavens. Ye heard that it
- 18:39Speaker 3: was said to the ancients, thou shalt not kill, and
- 18:43Speaker 3: whoever may kill shall be in danger of the judgment.
- 18:46Speaker 3: But I say to you that every one who is
- 18:50Speaker 3: angry at his brother without cause shall be in danger
- 18:54Speaker 3: of the judgment. And whoever may say to his brother.
- 18:57Speaker 3: Empty fellow shall be in days of the sanhedrum, and
- 19:01Speaker 3: whoever may say rebel shall be in danger of the
- 19:05Speaker 3: gahinna of the fire. If therefore thou mayst bring thy
- 19:10Speaker 3: gift to the altar, and there mayest remember that thy
- 19:13Speaker 3: brother hath anything against thee. Leave there thy gift before
- 19:18Speaker 3: the altar, and go first be reconciled to thy brother,
- 19:22Speaker 3: And then, having come bring thy gift, be agreeing with
- 19:26Speaker 3: thy opponent quickly while thou art in the way with him,
- 19:30Speaker 3: that the opponent may not deliver thee to the judge,
- 19:34Speaker 3: and the judge may deliver THEE to the officer, and
- 19:37Speaker 3: to prison. Thou mayest be cast. Verily, I say to THEE,
- 19:42Speaker 3: thou mayest not come forth thence till that thou mayest
- 19:46Speaker 3: pay the last farthing. Ye heard that it was said
- 19:50Speaker 3: to the ancients thou shalt not commit adultery. But I
- 19:55Speaker 3: I say to you that everyone who is looking on
- 19:58Speaker 3: a woman to desire her, did already commit adultery with
- 20:02Speaker 3: her in his heart. But if thy right eye doth
- 20:06Speaker 3: cause THEE to stumble, pluck it out and cast from thee.
- 20:10Speaker 3: For it is good to THEE that one of thy
- 20:12Speaker 3: members may perish, and not thy whole body be cast
- 20:16Speaker 3: to Gahinna. And if thy right hand doth cause THEE
- 20:20Speaker 3: to stumble, cut it off and cast from thee. For
- 20:23Speaker 3: it is good to THEE that one of thy members
- 20:26Speaker 3: may perish, and not thy whole body be cast to Gahinna.
- 20:31Speaker 3: And it was said that whoever may put away his wife,
- 20:34Speaker 3: let him give to her a writing of divorce. But
- 20:38Speaker 3: I I say to you that whoever may put away
- 20:42Speaker 3: his wife, save for the matter of woredom, doth make
- 20:46Speaker 3: her to commit adultery. And whoever may marry her, who
- 20:50Speaker 3: hath been put away, doth commit adultery. Again, ye heard
- 20:54Speaker 3: that it was said to the ancients, thou shalt not
- 20:57Speaker 3: swear falsely, but thou shalt pay to the Lord thine oaths.
- 21:02Speaker 3: But I I say to you not to swear at all,
- 21:06Speaker 3: neither by the heaven because it is the throne of God,
- 21:10Speaker 3: nor by the earth because it is his footstool, nor
- 21:14Speaker 3: by Jerusalem because it is a city of a great king.
- 21:18Speaker 3: Nor by thy head. Mayest thou swear, because thou art
- 21:21Speaker 3: not able one hair to make white or black. But
- 21:25Speaker 3: let your word be yes, yes, no, no. And that
- 21:30Speaker 3: which is the more than these, is of the evil.
- 21:35Speaker 3: You heard that it was said, aye for eye, and
- 21:37Speaker 3: tooth for tooth. But I I say to you not
- 21:42Speaker 3: to resist the evil. But whoever shall slap THEE on
- 21:45Speaker 3: thy right cheek, turn to him also the other. And
- 21:48Speaker 3: whoever is willing to take thee to law and thy
- 21:51Speaker 3: coat to take, suffer to him also the cloak. And
- 21:56Speaker 3: whoever shall impress thee one mile, go with him too.
- 22:00Speaker 3: To him who is asking of thee be giving, and
- 22:04Speaker 3: him who is willing to borrow from thee. Thou mayest
- 22:07Speaker 3: not turn away. Ye hearn that it was said, thou
- 22:10Speaker 3: shalt love thy neighbor, and shalt hate thine enemy. But
- 22:14Speaker 3: I I say to you love your enemies. Bless those
- 22:19Speaker 3: cursing you, Do good to those hating you, and pray
- 22:22Speaker 3: for those accusing you falsely and persecuting you. That ye
- 22:27Speaker 3: may be sons of your father in the heavens, because
- 22:31Speaker 3: his son he doth cause to rise on evil and good,
- 22:35Speaker 3: and he doth sind reign on righteous and unrighteous. For
- 22:41Speaker 3: if ye may love those loving you, what reward have
- 22:44Speaker 3: ye do not also the tax gatherers the same? And
- 22:49Speaker 3: if ye may salute your brethren. Only what do ye abundant,
- 22:53Speaker 3: do not also the tax gatherers. So ye shall therefore
- 22:57Speaker 3: be perfect, as your Father, who is in the heavens,

- 23:29Speaker 3: Take heed your kindness, not to do before men to
- 23:32Speaker 3: be seen by them, And if not, reward ye have
- 23:36Speaker 3: not from your father, who is in the heavens. Whenever
- 23:39Speaker 3: therefore thou mayst do kindness, thou mayst not sound a
- 23:44Speaker 3: trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues
- 23:48Speaker 3: and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Barely.
- 23:52Speaker 3: I say to you, they have their reward. But thou
- 23:56Speaker 3: doing kindness, let not thy left hand know what thy
- 24:00Speaker 3: right hand doth. That thy kindness may be in secret,
- 24:04Speaker 3: and thy Father, who is seeing in secret himself, shall
- 24:07Speaker 3: reward thee manifestly. And when thou mayst pray, thou shalt
- 24:13Speaker 3: not be as the hypocrites, because they love in the synagogues,
- 24:17Speaker 3: and in the corners of the broad places, standing to pray,
- 24:21Speaker 3: that they may be seen of men barely. I say
- 24:25Speaker 3: to you that they have their reward. But thou, when
- 24:29Speaker 3: thou mayst pray, go into thy chamber, and, having shut
- 24:33Speaker 3: thy door, pray to thy father, who is in secret.
- 24:37Speaker 3: And thy Father, who is seeing in secret, shall reward
- 24:40Speaker 3: thee manifestly and praying. Ye may not use vain repetitions
- 24:46Speaker 3: like the nations, for they think that in their much
- 24:49Speaker 3: speaking they shall be heard. Be Ye not therefore like
- 24:54Speaker 3: to them, For your father doth know those things that
- 24:57Speaker 3: ye have need of before your asking him. Thus therefore
- 25:01Speaker 3: pray ye, our Father, who art in the heavens hallowed,
- 25:06Speaker 3: be thy name, thy reign come, Thy will come to pass.
- 25:10Speaker 3: As in heaven, also on the earth are appointed bread
- 25:14Speaker 3: give us to day, and forgive us our debts, as
- 25:18Speaker 3: also we forgive our debtors. And mayest thou not lead
- 25:22Speaker 3: us to temptation, but deliver us from the evil. Because
- 25:26Speaker 3: Thine is the rain and the power and the glory
- 25:29Speaker 3: to the ages. Amen. For if ye may forgive men
- 25:34Speaker 3: their trespasses, he also will forgive you. Your father, who
- 25:39Speaker 3: is in the heavens. But if ye may not forgive
- 25:42Speaker 3: men their trespasses, neither will your father forgive your trespasses.
- 25:48Speaker 3: And when ye may fast, be ye not as the
- 25:51Speaker 3: hypocrites of sour countenances. For they disfigure their faces that
- 25:56Speaker 3: they may appear to men fasting. Verily, I say to
- 26:00Speaker 3: you that they have their reward. But thou fasting, anoint
- 26:06Speaker 3: thy head and wash thy face, that thou mayest not
- 26:09Speaker 3: appear to men fasting, but to thy father, who is
- 26:13Speaker 3: in secret. And thy father, who is seeing in secret,
- 26:17Speaker 3: shall reward THEE manifestly treasure, not up to yourselves treasures
- 26:23Speaker 3: on the earth, where moth and rust disfigure, and where
- 26:27Speaker 3: thieves break through and steal. But treasure up to yourselves
- 26:31Speaker 3: treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth disfigure,
- 26:36Speaker 3: and where thieves do not break through nor steal. For
- 26:40Speaker 3: where your treasure is, there won't be also your heart.
- 26:45Speaker 3: The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore
- 26:49Speaker 3: thine eye may be perfect, all thy body shall be enlightened.
- 26:54Speaker 3: But if thine eye may be evil, all thy body
- 26:57Speaker 3: shall be dark. If there for the light that is
- 27:01Speaker 3: in THEE is darkness. The darkness, how great. None is
- 27:06Speaker 3: able to serve two lords, for either he will hate
- 27:10Speaker 3: the one and love the other, or he will hold
- 27:13Speaker 3: to the one and despise the other. Ye are not
- 27:17Speaker 3: able to serve God and Mammone. Because of this, I
- 27:21Speaker 3: say to you, be not anxious for your life what
- 27:25Speaker 3: you may eat and what ye may drink, nor for
- 27:28Speaker 3: your body what you may put on. Is not the
- 27:32Speaker 3: life more than the nourishment, and the body than the clothing.
- 27:37Speaker 3: Look to the fowls of the heaven, For they do
- 27:39Speaker 3: not sow, nor reap, nor gather into storehouses, And your
- 27:44Speaker 3: heavenly Father doth nourish them. Are not ye much better
- 27:48Speaker 3: than they? And who of you, being anxious, is able
- 27:52Speaker 3: to add to his age one cubit? And about clothing,
- 27:56Speaker 3: why are you anxious? Consider well the lily of the field.
- 28:01Speaker 3: How do they grow? They do not labor, nor do
- 28:04Speaker 3: they spend. And I say to you that not even Solomon,
- 28:08Speaker 3: in all his glory, was arrayed as one of these.
- 28:13Speaker 3: And if the herb of the field that today is
- 28:16Speaker 3: and tomorrow is cast to the furnace, God doth so
- 28:20Speaker 3: clothe not much more you, oh, ye of little faith.
- 28:25Speaker 3: Therefore ye may not be anxious, saying, what may we eat?
- 28:29Speaker 3: Or what may we drink? Or what may we put round?
- 28:34Speaker 3: For all these do the nation seek for? For your
- 28:37Speaker 3: heavenly Father, doth know that ye have need of all these,
- 28:41Speaker 3: But seek ye first the reign of God and his righteousness,
- 28:45Speaker 3: and all these shall be added to you. Be not
- 28:49Speaker 3: therefore anxious for the morrow, for themorrow shall be anxious
- 28:52Speaker 3: for its own things. Sufficient for the day is the
- 28:56Speaker 3: evil of it. End of Chapter six, Chapter seven of

- 29:24Speaker 3: Judge not that ye may not be judged, For in
- 29:27Speaker 3: what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged, and in
- 29:31Speaker 3: what measure ye measure, it shall be measured to you.
- 29:34Speaker 3: And why dost thou behold the moat that is in
- 29:37Speaker 3: thy brother's eye and the beam that is in thine
- 29:40Speaker 3: own eye? Dost not consider? Or how wilt thou say
- 29:44Speaker 3: to thy brother, suffer I may cast out the moat
- 29:48Speaker 3: from thine eye, and lo, the beam is in thine
- 29:50Speaker 3: own eye hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of
- 29:54Speaker 3: thine own eye, And then thou shalt see clearly to
- 29:58Speaker 3: cast out the moat out of thee brother's eye. Ye
- 30:01Speaker 3: may not give that which is wholly to the dogs,
- 30:04Speaker 3: nor cast your pearls before the swine, that they may
- 30:08Speaker 3: not trample them among their feet. And having turned, may
- 30:11Speaker 3: rend you ask, and it shall be given to you. Seek,
- 30:16Speaker 3: and ye shall find. Knock, and it shall be open
- 30:19Speaker 3: to you. For every one who is asking doth receive,
- 30:23Speaker 3: and he who is seeking doth find, And to him
- 30:27Speaker 3: who is knocking it shall be opened. Or what man
- 30:31Speaker 3: is of you, of whom, if his son may ask
- 30:34Speaker 3: a loaf a stone, will he present to him, And
- 30:37Speaker 3: if a fish he may ask, a serpent, will he
- 30:40Speaker 3: present to him. If therefore, ye, being evil, have known
- 30:45Speaker 3: good gifts to give to your children, how much more
- 30:48Speaker 3: shall your father, who is in the heavens, give good
- 30:51Speaker 3: things to those asking him. All things. Therefore, whatever ye
- 30:56Speaker 3: may will, that men may be doing to you, so
- 31:00Speaker 3: due to them. For this is the law. And the
- 31:03Speaker 3: profits go ye in through the straight gate, because wide
- 31:08Speaker 3: is the gate, and broad the way that is leading
- 31:11Speaker 3: to the destruction. And many are those going in through it,
- 31:15Speaker 3: How straight is the gate, and compress the way that
- 31:19Speaker 3: is leading to the life. And few are those finding it.
- 31:23Speaker 3: But take heed of the false prophets who come unto
- 31:26Speaker 3: you in sheep's clothing, and inwardly are ravening wolves. From
- 31:31Speaker 3: their fruits, ye shall know them. Do men gather from
- 31:35Speaker 3: thorns grapes, or from thistles figs. So every good tree
- 31:40Speaker 3: doth yield good fruits, but the bad tree doth yield
- 31:44Speaker 3: evil fruits. A good tree is not able to yield
- 31:49Speaker 3: evil fruits, nor a bad tree to yield good fruits.
- 31:53Speaker 3: Every tree not yielding good fruit is cut down and
- 31:57Speaker 3: is cast to fire. Therefore, from their fruits ye shall
- 32:01Speaker 3: know them. Not everyone who is saying to me, Lord Lord,
- 32:06Speaker 3: shall come into the rain of the heavens. But he
- 32:09Speaker 3: who is doing the will of my father, who is
- 32:12Speaker 3: in the heavens. Many will say to me in that day,
- 32:16Speaker 3: Lord Lord, have we not in thy name prophesied, and
- 32:20Speaker 3: in thy name cast out demons, and in thy name
- 32:23Speaker 3: done many mighty things? And then I will acknowledge to
- 32:27Speaker 3: them that I never knew you. Depart from me, ye
- 32:31Speaker 3: who are working lawlessness. Therefore, every one who doth hear
- 32:36Speaker 3: of me these words and doth do them, I will
- 32:40Speaker 3: liken him to a wise man who built his house
- 32:43Speaker 3: upon the rock. And the rain did descend, and the
- 32:46Speaker 3: streams came, and the winds blew, and they beat on
- 32:50Speaker 3: that house, and it fell, not for it had been
- 32:53Speaker 3: founded on the rock. And every one who is hearing
- 32:57Speaker 3: of me these words and is not doing them, shall
- 33:00Speaker 3: be likened to a foolish man who built his house
- 33:03Speaker 3: upon the sand. And the rain did descend, and the
- 33:07Speaker 3: streams came, and the winds blew, and they beat on
- 33:11Speaker 3: that house, and it fell, and its fall was great,
- 33:16Speaker 3: and it came to pass. When Jesus ended these words,
- 33:20Speaker 3: the multitudes were astonished at his teaching, for he was
- 33:24Speaker 3: teaching them as having authority, and not as the scribes.

- 33:51Speaker 3: Matthew Young's literal translation, chapter eight. And when he came
- 33:56Speaker 3: down from the mount, great multitudes did follow him. And lo,
- 34:01Speaker 3: a leper, having come, was bowing to him, saying, sir,
- 34:05Speaker 3: if thou art, willing thou art able to cleanse me,
- 34:09Speaker 3: And having stretched forth the hand, Jesus touched him, saying,
- 34:14Speaker 3: I will be thou cleansed. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
- 34:20Speaker 3: And Jesus saith to him, See, thou mayst tell no one,
- 34:24Speaker 3: but go thyself, show to the priest, and bring the
- 34:27Speaker 3: gift that Moses commanded for a testimony to them. And Jesus,
- 34:32Speaker 3: having entered into Capernaum, there came to him a centurion,
- 34:37Speaker 3: calling upon him and saying, Sir, my young man hath
- 34:41Speaker 3: been laid in the house, a paralytic, fearfully afflicted. And
- 34:46Speaker 3: Jesus saith to him, I, having come, will heal him.
- 34:50Speaker 3: And the centurion, answering, said Sir, I am not worthy
- 34:55Speaker 3: that thou mayest enter under my roof. But only say
- 34:58Speaker 3: a word, and my sir shall be healed. For I
- 35:02Speaker 3: also am a man under authority, having under myself soldiers.
- 35:07Speaker 3: And I say to this one go, and he goeth,
- 35:09Speaker 3: and to another be coming, and he cometh, And to
- 35:13Speaker 3: my servant, do this, and he doth it. And Jesus,
- 35:17Speaker 3: having heard, did wonder and said to those following, verily,
- 35:22Speaker 3: I say to you not even in Israel. So great
- 35:25Speaker 3: faith have I found. And I say to you that
- 35:29Speaker 3: many from east and west shall come and recline at
- 35:33Speaker 3: meet with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the rain
- 35:37Speaker 3: of the heavens. But the suns of the rain shall
- 35:41Speaker 3: be cast forth to the outer darkness. There shall be
- 35:45Speaker 3: the weeping and the gnashing of the teeth. And Jesus
- 35:48Speaker 3: said to the centurion, go and as thou disbelieve, let
- 35:53Speaker 3: it be to thee. And his young man was healed
- 35:56Speaker 3: in that hour. And Jesus, having come into the house
- 36:00Speaker 3: of Peter, saw his mother in law laid and fevered,
- 36:04Speaker 3: and he touched her hand, and the fever left her,
- 36:08Speaker 3: and she arose and was ministering to them. An evening
- 36:12Speaker 3: having come, they brought to him many demoniacs, and he
- 36:16Speaker 3: did cast out the spirits with a word, and did
- 36:19Speaker 3: heal all who were ill, that it might be fulfilled
- 36:23Speaker 3: that was spoken through Isaiah, the prophet, saying himself took
- 36:27Speaker 3: our infirmities and the sicknesses he did bear. And Jesus,
- 36:32Speaker 3: having seen great multitudes about him, did command to depart
- 36:36Speaker 3: to the other side. And a certain scribe, having come,
- 36:40Speaker 3: said to him, teacher, I will follow thee wherever thou
- 36:45Speaker 3: mayest go, And Jesus saith to him, the foxes have holes,
- 36:50Speaker 3: and the birds of the heaven places of rest. But
- 36:54Speaker 3: the son of Man hath not where he may lay
- 36:56Speaker 3: the head. And another of his disciples so to him, Sir,
- 37:01Speaker 3: permit me first to depart and to bury my father.
- 37:05Speaker 3: And Jesus said to him, follow me, and suffer the
- 37:09Speaker 3: dead to bury their own dead. And when he entered
- 37:12Speaker 3: into the boat, his disciples did follow him, and lo,
- 37:16Speaker 3: a great tempest arose in the sea, so that the
- 37:19Speaker 3: boat was being covered by the waves. But he was sleeping,
- 37:24Speaker 3: and his disciples, having come to him, awoke him, saying, Sir,
- 37:29Speaker 3: save us, we are perishing. And he saith to them,
- 37:33Speaker 3: why are you fearful, o ye of little faith? Then,
- 37:38Speaker 3: having risen, he rebuked the winds and the sea, and
- 37:41Speaker 3: there was a great calm, and the men wondered, saying,
- 37:45Speaker 3: what kind is this that even the wind and the
- 37:49Speaker 3: sea do obey him? And he, having come to the
- 37:53Speaker 3: other side, to the region of the garrisines, there met
- 37:57Speaker 3: him two demoniacs coming forth out of the tombs, very fierce,
- 38:02Speaker 3: so that no one was able to pass over by
- 38:04Speaker 3: that way, and lo they cried out, saying, what to
- 38:08Speaker 3: us and to thee Jesus, son of God, didst thou
- 38:12Speaker 3: come hither before the time to afflict us? And there
- 38:16Speaker 3: was far off from them a herd of many swine feeding,
- 38:20Speaker 3: and the demons were calling on him, saying, if thou
- 38:23Speaker 3: dost cast us forth, permittest to go away to the
- 38:26Speaker 3: herd of the swine. And he saith to them go.
- 38:30Speaker 3: And having come forth, they went to the herd of
- 38:33Speaker 3: the swine, and lo, the whole herd of the swine
- 38:36Speaker 3: rushed down the steep to the sea and died in
- 38:40Speaker 3: the waters, and those feeding did flee. And having gone
- 38:44Speaker 3: to the city, they declared all and the matter of
- 38:47Speaker 3: the demoniacs, And lo all the city came forth to
- 38:51Speaker 3: meet Jesus, and having seen him, they called on him
- 38:55Speaker 3: that he might depart from their borders. End of chapter eight.

- 39:22Speaker 4: he passed over and came to his own city, and lo,
- 39:26Speaker 4: they were bringing to him a paralytic laid upon a couch.
- 39:29Speaker 4: And Jesus, having seen their faith, said to the paralytic,
- 39:33Speaker 4: be of good courage, child, thy sins have been forgiven thee.
- 39:38Speaker 4: And lo, certain of the scribes said within themselves, this
- 39:42Speaker 4: one doth speak evil. And Jesus, having known their thoughts, said,
- 39:47Speaker 4: why think ye evil in your hearts? For which is
- 39:51Speaker 4: easier to say the sins have been forgiven to thee,
- 39:55Speaker 4: or to say rise and walk? But that ye mai,
- 40:00Speaker 4: they know that the son of Man hath power upon
- 40:02Speaker 4: the earth to forgive sins. Then saith he to the paralytic,
- 40:07Speaker 4: having risen, take up thy couch and go to thy house.
- 40:12Speaker 4: And he, having risen, went to his house. And the multitudes,
- 40:16Speaker 4: having seen, wondered and glorified God, who did give such
- 40:20Speaker 4: power to men. And Jesus, passing by, thence saw a
- 40:24Speaker 4: man sitting at the tax office named Matthew, and saith
- 40:28Speaker 4: to him be following me. And he, having risen, did
- 40:32Speaker 4: follow him. And it came to pass he reclining at
- 40:37Speaker 4: meat in the house, that lo, many tax gatherers and sinners,
- 40:42Speaker 4: having come, were lying at meat with Jesus and his disciples,
- 40:47Speaker 4: And the Pharisees, having seen, said to his disciples, wherefore
- 40:51Speaker 4: would the tax gatherers and sinners? Doth your teacher eat?
- 40:56Speaker 4: And Jesus having heard, said to them, they who are
- 40:59Speaker 4: a whole heaven need of a physician, But they who
- 41:01Speaker 4: are ill, But having gone, learn ye, what is kindness?
- 41:07Speaker 4: I will and not sacrifice. For I did not come
- 41:10Speaker 4: to call righteous men, but sinners to reformation. Then come
- 41:14Speaker 4: to him, do the disciples of John, saying, wherefore do
- 41:18Speaker 4: we in the Pharisees fast much? And thy disciples fast not?
- 41:23Speaker 4: And Jesus said to them, can the sons of the
- 41:26Speaker 4: bride chamber morn so long as the bridegroom is with them?
- 41:29Speaker 4: But days shall come when the bridegroom may be taken
- 41:32Speaker 4: from them, and then they shall fast. And no one
- 41:36Speaker 4: doth put a patch of undressed cloth on an old garment,
- 41:40Speaker 4: for it's filling up. Doth take from the garment, and
- 41:43Speaker 4: a worse rent is made. Nor do they put new
- 41:46Speaker 4: wine into old skins, and if not, the skins burst,
- 41:51Speaker 4: and the wine doth run out, and the skins are destroyed.
- 41:55Speaker 4: But they put new wine into new skins, and both
- 41:58Speaker 4: are preserved together. While he is speaking these things to them. Lo,
- 42:04Speaker 4: a ruler, having come, was bowing to him, saying that
- 42:08Speaker 4: my daughter just now died, but having come, lay thy
- 42:11Speaker 4: hand upon her, and she shall live. And Jesus, having risen,
- 42:15Speaker 4: did follow him also his disciples. And Lo, a woman,
- 42:19Speaker 4: having an issue of blood twelve years, having come to
- 42:22Speaker 4: him behind, did touch the fringe of his garments. For
- 42:26Speaker 4: she said within herself, if only I may touch his garment,
- 42:30Speaker 4: I shall be saved. And Jesus, having turned about, and
- 42:34Speaker 4: having seen her, said, be of good courage. Daughter. Thy
- 42:38Speaker 4: faith hath saved thee and the woman was saved from
- 42:41Speaker 4: that hour. And Jesus, having come to the house of
- 42:44Speaker 4: the ruler, and having seen the minstrels and the multitude
- 42:48Speaker 4: making tumult, he saith to them withdraw, for the damsel
- 42:52Speaker 4: did not die, but doth sleep, and they were deriding him.
- 42:56Speaker 4: But when the multitude was put forth, having gone in,
- 43:00Speaker 4: he took hold of her hand, and the damsel arose,
- 43:02Speaker 4: and the fame of this went forth to all the land.
- 43:06Speaker 4: And Jesus, passing on thence two blind men followed him,
- 43:09Speaker 4: calling and saying, deal kindly with us, son of David,
- 43:14Speaker 4: and he having come to the house, the blind men
- 43:16Speaker 4: came to him, and Jesus saith to them, believe ye
- 43:20Speaker 4: that I am able to do this. They say to him, yes, Sir.
- 43:25Speaker 4: Then touched he their eyes, saying, according to your faith,
- 43:29Speaker 4: let it be to you. And their eyes were opened,
- 43:32Speaker 4: and Jesus strictly charged them, saying, see, let no one know.
- 43:36Speaker 4: But they, having gone forth, did spread his fame in
- 43:39Speaker 4: all that land. And as they are coming forth, lo,
- 43:43Speaker 4: they brought to him a man dumb, a demoniac, and
- 43:47Speaker 4: the demon having been cast out, the dumb spake, and
- 43:50Speaker 4: the multitude did wonder, saying that it was never so
- 43:54Speaker 4: seen in Israel. But the Pharisees said, by the ruler
- 43:58Speaker 4: of the demons, he told cast out the demons. And
- 44:03Speaker 4: Jesus was going up and down all the cities and
- 44:05Speaker 4: the villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the good
- 44:10Speaker 4: news of the rain, and healing every sickness and every
- 44:13Speaker 4: malady among the people. And having seen the multitudes, he
- 44:17Speaker 4: was moved with compassion for them, that they were faint
- 44:21Speaker 4: and cast aside as sheep, not having a shepherd. Then
- 44:25Speaker 4: saith he to his disciples. The harvest indeed is abundant,
- 44:29Speaker 4: but the workmen few. Beseech ye. Therefore the Lord of
- 44:33Speaker 4: the harvest, that he may put forth workmen to his harvest.

- 45:04Speaker 4: to them power over unclean spirits, so as to be
- 45:08Speaker 4: casting them out, and to be healing every sickness and
- 45:11Speaker 4: every malady. And of the twelve apostles, the names are these,
- 45:16Speaker 4: first Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother,
- 45:21Speaker 4: James of Zebedee, and John his brother Philip, and Bartholomew,
- 45:26Speaker 4: Thomas and Matthew the tax gatherer, James of Alpheus, and
- 45:32Speaker 4: Libaeus who was surnamed Thadeus, Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot,
- 45:39Speaker 4: who did also deliver him up. These twelve did Jesus
- 45:43Speaker 4: send forth, having given command to them, saying to the
- 45:47Speaker 4: way of the nations, go not away, and into a
- 45:50Speaker 4: city of the Samaritans, go not in, and be going
- 45:53Speaker 4: rather unto the lost sheep of the House of Israel,
- 45:57Speaker 4: and going on proclaim saying that the rain of the
- 46:01Speaker 4: heavens hath come nigh. Infirm ones, be healing lepers, be
- 46:06Speaker 4: cleansing dead, be raising demons, be casting out Freely Ye
- 46:11Speaker 4: did receive freely, give provide not gold, nor silver, nor
- 46:16Speaker 4: brass in your girdles, no scrip for the whey, nor
- 46:20Speaker 4: two coats, nor sandals, nor staff for the workman is
- 46:24Speaker 4: worthy of his nourishment. And into whatever city or village
- 46:28Speaker 4: ye may enter, inquire ye who in it is worthy,
- 46:33Speaker 4: And there abide till ye may go forth, and coming
- 46:37Speaker 4: to the house, salute it. And if indeed the house
- 46:40Speaker 4: be worthy, let your peace come upon it. And if
- 46:43Speaker 4: it be not worthy, let your peace turn back to you.
- 46:48Speaker 4: And whoever may not receive you nor hear your words
- 46:51Speaker 4: coming forth from that house or city, shake off the
- 46:55Speaker 4: dust of your feet. Verily I say to you, it
- 46:58Speaker 4: shall be more tolerable for the Lafs and of Sodom
- 47:00Speaker 4: and Gomorah in the day of judgment than for that city.
- 47:05Speaker 4: Lo I do send you forth as sheep in the
- 47:07Speaker 4: midst of wolves. Be ye therefore wise as the serpents,
- 47:11Speaker 4: and simple as the doves, And take ye heed of men,
- 47:15Speaker 4: For they will give you up to sanhedrons, and in
- 47:18Speaker 4: their synagogues they will scourge you. And before governors and kings,
- 47:22Speaker 4: ye shall be brought for my sake for a testimony
- 47:25Speaker 4: to them and to the nations. And whenever they may
- 47:29Speaker 4: deliver you up, be not anxious how or what ye
- 47:32Speaker 4: may speak, for it shall be given you in that
- 47:35Speaker 4: hour what ye shall speak, for ye are not the speakers,
- 47:39Speaker 4: but the spirit of your father that is speaking in you.
- 47:42Speaker 4: And brother shall deliver a brother to death, and father
- 47:46Speaker 4: child and children shall rise up against parents and shall
- 47:50Speaker 4: put them to death. And ye shall be hated by
- 47:53Speaker 4: all because of my name. But he who hath endured
- 47:56Speaker 4: to the end, he shall be saved. And whenever they
- 47:59Speaker 4: may pursu secute you in this city, flee to the other.
- 48:03Speaker 4: For verily I say to you, ye may not have
- 48:05Speaker 4: completed the cities of Israel till the son of Man
- 48:08Speaker 4: may come. A disciple is not above the teacher, nor
- 48:12Speaker 4: a servant above his lord. Sufficient to the disciple that
- 48:16Speaker 4: he may be as his teacher, and the servant as
- 48:19Speaker 4: his lord. If the master of the house they did
- 48:22Speaker 4: call beelzi Bull, how much more those of his household.
- 48:27Speaker 4: Ye may not therefore fear them. For there is nothing
- 48:30Speaker 4: covered that shall not be revealed, and hid that shall
- 48:34Speaker 4: not be known. That which I tell you in the darkness,
- 48:37Speaker 4: speak in the light, and that which you hear at
- 48:40Speaker 4: the ear, proclaim on the housetops. And be not afraid
- 48:45Speaker 4: of those killing the body and are not able to
- 48:48Speaker 4: kill the soul. But fear rather him who is able
- 48:51Speaker 4: both soul and body to destroy. In Gehenna, are not
- 48:56Speaker 4: two sparrows sold for a nassar, and one of them
- 48:59Speaker 4: shall not fall on the ground without your father, And
- 49:02Speaker 4: of you, even the hairs of the head are all numbered.
- 49:06Speaker 4: Be not afraid. Therefore, then many sparrows, ye are better
- 49:11Speaker 4: every one. Therefore, who shall confess in me before men,
- 49:16Speaker 4: I also will confess in him before my Father, who
- 49:19Speaker 4: is in the heavens. And whoever shall deny me before men,
- 49:23Speaker 4: I also will deny him before my father, who is
- 49:26Speaker 4: in the heavens. Ye may not suppose that I came
- 49:30Speaker 4: to put peace on the earth. I did not come
- 49:32Speaker 4: to put peace but a sword. For I came to
- 49:35Speaker 4: set a man at variance against his father, and a
- 49:38Speaker 4: daughter against her mother, and a daughter in law against
- 49:41Speaker 4: her mother in law. And the enemies of a man
- 49:44Speaker 4: are those of his household. He who is loving father
- 49:47Speaker 4: or mother above me is not worthy of me, And
- 49:50Speaker 4: he who is loving son or daughter above me is
- 49:53Speaker 4: not worthy of me. And whoever doth not receive his
- 49:56Speaker 4: cross and follow after me is not worthy of me.
- 50:01Speaker 4: He who found his life shall lose it, and he
- 50:04Speaker 4: who lost his life for my sake shall find it.
- 50:08Speaker 4: He who is receiving you doth receive me, and he
- 50:11Speaker 4: who is receiving me doth receive him who sent me.
- 50:16Speaker 4: He who is receiving a prophet in the name of
- 50:18Speaker 4: a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward. And he who
- 50:22Speaker 4: is receiving a righteous man in the name of a
- 50:24Speaker 4: righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward. And whoever
- 50:29Speaker 4: may give to drink to one of these little ones
- 50:31Speaker 4: a cup of cold water only in the name of
- 50:34Speaker 4: a disciple. Verily I say to you, he may not
- 50:37Speaker 4: lose his reward. End of Chapter ten Chapter eleven of Matthew.

- 51:00Speaker 4: Literal translation, Chapter eleven. And it came to pass when
- 51:05Speaker 4: Jesus ended directing his twelve disciples. He departed, thence to
- 51:09Speaker 4: teach and to preach in their cities. And John, having
- 51:13Speaker 4: heard in the prison the works of the Christ, having
- 51:15Speaker 4: sent two of his disciples, said to him, art thou
- 51:19Speaker 4: he who is coming? Or for another do we look?
- 51:24Speaker 4: And Jesus, answering, said to them, having gone, declare to
- 51:28Speaker 4: John the things that ye hear and see, blind, receive sight,
- 51:32Speaker 4: and lame walk lepers are cleansed and deaf. Here dead
- 51:37Speaker 4: are raised, and poor have good news proclaimed. And happy
- 51:41Speaker 4: is he who may not be stumbled in me. And
- 51:44Speaker 4: as they are going, Jesus began to say to the
- 51:47Speaker 4: multitudes concerning John, what went ye out to the wilderness
- 51:52Speaker 4: to view a reed shaken by the wind? But what
- 51:56Speaker 4: went ye out to see a man clothed in soft garments?
- 52:00Speaker 4: N Lo, those wearing the soft things are in the
- 52:03Speaker 4: king's houses. But what went ye out to see a prophet? Yes,
- 52:09Speaker 4: I say to you, and more than a prophet. For
- 52:12Speaker 4: this is he of whom it hath been written. Lo,
- 52:15Speaker 4: I do send my messenger before thy face, who shall
- 52:18Speaker 4: prepare thy way before thee Verily, I say to you,
- 52:22Speaker 4: there hath not risen among those born of women a
- 52:25Speaker 4: greater than John the Baptist. But he who is least
- 52:28Speaker 4: in the reign of the heavens is greater than he.
- 52:32Speaker 4: And from the days of John the Baptist till now
- 52:35Speaker 4: the reign of the heavens doth suffer violence, and violent
- 52:38Speaker 4: men do take it by force for all the prophets
- 52:41Speaker 4: and Allah till John did prophesy. And if ye are
- 52:45Speaker 4: willing to receive it, he is Elijah who is about
- 52:48Speaker 4: to come, He who is having ears to hear, let
- 52:52Speaker 4: him hear. And to what shall I like? In this generation?
- 52:57Speaker 4: It is like little children in market places, sitting and
- 53:01Speaker 4: calling to their comrades and saying, we piped unto you,
- 53:04Speaker 4: and ye did not dance. We lamented to you, and
- 53:08Speaker 4: ye did not smite the breast. For John came neither
- 53:11Speaker 4: eating nor drinking, and they say he hath a demon.
- 53:15Speaker 4: The son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, lo,
- 53:19Speaker 4: a man a glutton and a wine drinker, a friend
- 53:22Speaker 4: of tax gatherers and sinners, and wisdom was justified of
- 53:26Speaker 4: her children. Then began he to reproach the cities in
- 53:31Speaker 4: which were done most of his mighty works, because they
- 53:34Speaker 4: did not reform. Woe to thee Kazin, woe to thee Bathsada.
- 53:41Speaker 4: Because if in Tire and Sidon had been done the
- 53:44Speaker 4: mighty works that were done in you long ago, in
- 53:47Speaker 4: sackcloth and ashes, they had reformed. But I say to you,
- 53:51Speaker 4: to Tire and Sidon, it shall be more tolerable in
- 53:54Speaker 4: a day of judgment than for you. And thou Capernaum,
- 53:59Speaker 4: which unto the heaven was to exalted unto Hades, shall
- 54:03Speaker 4: be brought down. Because if in Sodom had been done
- 54:07Speaker 4: the mighty works that were done in thee, it had
- 54:10Speaker 4: remained unto this day. But I say to you, to
- 54:13Speaker 4: the land of Sodom, it shall be more tolerable in
- 54:16Speaker 4: a day of judgment than to thee. At that time,
- 54:20Speaker 4: Jesus answering said, I do confess to THEE Father, Lord
- 54:24Speaker 4: of the heavens and of the Earth, that thou didst
- 54:27Speaker 4: hide these things from wise and understanding ones, and didst
- 54:31Speaker 4: reveal them to babes. Yes, Father, because so it was
- 54:35Speaker 4: good pleasure before thee All things were delivered to me
- 54:39Speaker 4: by my father. And none doth know the son except
- 54:43Speaker 4: the father. Nor doth any know the Father except the son.
- 54:47Speaker 4: And he to whom the son may wish to reveal him.
- 54:52Speaker 4: Come unto me, all ye laboring and burdened ones, and
- 54:56Speaker 4: I will give you rest. Take up my yoke upon you,
- 54:59Speaker 4: and learn from me, because I am meek and humble
- 55:02Speaker 4: in heart. And ye shall find ross to your souls,
- 55:05Speaker 4: for my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

- 55:28Speaker 4: Matthew Young's literal translation, Chapter twelve. At that time did
- 55:33Speaker 4: Jesus go on the sabbaths through the corn and his
- 55:37Speaker 4: disciples were hungry, and they began to pluck ears and
- 55:40Speaker 4: to eat. And the Pharisees, having seen, said to him, lo,
- 55:45Speaker 4: thy disciples do that which it is not lawful to
- 55:48Speaker 4: do on a sabbath. And he said to them, did
- 55:51Speaker 4: ye not read what David did when he was hungry
- 55:55Speaker 4: himself and those with him. How he went into the
- 55:58Speaker 4: House of God, and the loaves of the presentation did eat,
- 56:03Speaker 4: which it was not lawful to him to eat, nor
- 56:06Speaker 4: to those with him, except to the priests alone. Or
- 56:10Speaker 4: did ye not read in the law that on the
- 56:13Speaker 4: Sabbaths the priests in the temple do profane the Sabbath
- 56:18Speaker 4: and are blameless? And I say to you that a
- 56:21Speaker 4: greater than the Temple is here. And if ye had
- 56:25Speaker 4: known what is kindness, I will and not sacrifice, ye
- 56:30Speaker 4: had not condemned the blameless, For the Son of Man
- 56:34Speaker 4: is lord even of the Sabbath. And having departed, thence
- 56:38Speaker 4: he went to their synagogue, and lo there was a
- 56:41Speaker 4: man having the hand withered. And they questioned him, saying,
- 56:45Speaker 4: is it lawful to heal on the Sabbaths? That they
- 56:48Speaker 4: might accuse him? And he said to them, what man
- 56:52Speaker 4: shall be of you? Who shall have one sheep? And
- 56:55Speaker 4: if this may fall on the Sabbaths into a ditch,
- 56:59Speaker 4: will not lay hold done it and raise it? How
- 57:02Speaker 4: much better therefore is a man than a sheep? So
- 57:06Speaker 4: that it is lawful on the Sabbaths to do good?
- 57:10Speaker 4: Then saith he to the man, stretch forth thy hand,
- 57:14Speaker 4: And he stretched it forth, and it was restored whole
- 57:18Speaker 4: as the other. And the Pharisees, having gone forth, held
- 57:22Speaker 4: a consultation against him how they might destroy him. And Jesus,
- 57:27Speaker 4: having known, withdrew thence and there followed him great multitudes,
- 57:32Speaker 4: and he healed them all, and did charge them that
- 57:35Speaker 4: they might not make him manifest, that it might be fulfilled.
- 57:40Speaker 4: That was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying, Lo, my servant,
- 57:45Speaker 4: whom I did choose, my beloved, in whom my soul
- 57:48Speaker 4: did delight, I will put my spirit upon him, and
- 57:52Speaker 4: judgment to the nations. He shall declare. He shall not strive,
- 57:56Speaker 4: nor cry, nor shall any hear in the broad places,
- 58:00Speaker 4: his voice a bruised read he shall not break, and
- 58:03Speaker 4: smoking flax he shall not quench, till he may put
- 58:07Speaker 4: forth judgment to victory. And in his name shall nations hope.
- 58:12Speaker 4: Then was brought to him a demoniac, blind and dumb,
- 58:16Speaker 4: and he healed him, so that the blind and dumb
- 58:19Speaker 4: both spake and saw, And all the multitudes were amazed,
- 58:24Speaker 4: and said, is this the son of David. But the Pharisees,
- 58:28Speaker 4: having heard, said this, one doth not cast out demons
- 58:33Speaker 4: except by Beelzebol, ruler of the demons, And Jesus, knowing
- 58:38Speaker 4: their thoughts, said to them, every kingdom, having been divided
- 58:43Speaker 4: against itself, is desolated. And no city or house, having
- 58:47Speaker 4: been divided against itself, doth stand. And if the adversary
- 58:51Speaker 4: doth cast out the adversary against himself he was divided,
- 58:56Speaker 4: then how doth his kingdom stand? And if I, by
- 59:00Speaker 4: Beelzebule do cast out the demons your sons, by whom
- 59:06Speaker 4: do they cast out? Because of this they they shall
- 59:11Speaker 4: be your judges. But if I, by the Spirit of
- 59:15Speaker 4: God do cast out the demons, then come already unto
- 59:19Speaker 4: you did the reign of God. Or how is one
- 59:22Speaker 4: able to go into the house of the strong man
- 59:25Speaker 4: and to plunder his goods? If first he may not
- 59:28Speaker 4: bind the strong man, and then his house he will plunder.
- 59:33Speaker 4: He who is not with me is against me, And
- 59:36Speaker 4: he who is not gathering with me doth scatter. Because
- 59:40Speaker 4: of this, I say to you, all sin and evil
- 59:43Speaker 4: speaking shall be forgiven to men. But the evil speaking
- 59:47Speaker 4: of the Spirit shall not be forgiven to men. And
- 59:51Speaker 4: whoever may speak a word against the son of Man,
- 59:54Speaker 4: it shall be forgiven to him. But whoever may speak
- 59:58Speaker 4: against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him,
- 1:00:02Speaker 4: neither in this age nor in that which is coming.
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: make the tree bad and its fruit bad. For from
- 1:00:13Speaker 4: the fruit is the tree known brood of vipers. How
- 1:00:17Speaker 4: are ye able to speak good things being evil? For
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: out of the abundance of the heart doth the mouth
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: speak the good man. Out of the good treasure of
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: the heart doth put forth the good things, and the
- 1:00:32Speaker 4: evil man out of the evil treasure doth put forth
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: evil things. And I say to you that every idle
- 1:00:40Speaker 4: word that men may speak, they shall give for it
- 1:00:43Speaker 4: a reckoning in a day of judgment. For from thy
- 1:00:46Speaker 4: words thou shalt be declared righteous, and from thy words
- 1:00:51Speaker 4: thou shalt be declared unrighteous. Then answered certain of the
- 1:00:56Speaker 4: scribes and Pharisees, saying, teacher will to see a sign
- 1:01:01Speaker 4: from thee. And he answering, said to them, a generation
- 1:01:06Speaker 4: evil and adulterous doth seek a sign, And a sign
- 1:01:10Speaker 4: shall not be given to it except the sign of Jonah,
- 1:01:13Speaker 4: the prophet. For as Jonah was in the belly of
- 1:01:17Speaker 4: the fish three days and three nights. So shall the
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: son of Man be in the heart of the earth
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: three days and three nights. Men of Nineveh shall stand
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: up in the judgment with this generation and shall condemn it,
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: for they reformed at the proclamation of Jonah, and Lo
- 1:01:36Speaker 4: a greater than Jonah. Here, a queen of the South,
- 1:01:40Speaker 4: shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and
- 1:01:43Speaker 4: shall condemn it, for she came from the ends of
- 1:01:46Speaker 4: the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and Lo
- 1:01:50Speaker 4: a greater than Solomon. Here And when the unclean spirit
- 1:01:54Speaker 4: may go forth from the man, it doth walk through
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: dry places, seeking rest, and doth not find Then it saith,
- 1:02:03Speaker 4: I will turn back to my house whence I came forth,
- 1:02:06Speaker 4: and having come it findeth it unoccupied, swept and adorned.
- 1:02:12Speaker 4: Then doth it go and take with itself seven other
- 1:02:15Speaker 4: spirits more evil than itself, And having gone in, they
- 1:02:20Speaker 4: dwell there. And the last of that man doth become
- 1:02:23Speaker 4: worse than the first. So shall it be also to
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: this evil generation. And while he was yet speaking to
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: the multitudes, Lo, his mother and brethren had stood without
- 1:02:37Speaker 4: seeking to speak to him. And one said to him, Lo,
- 1:02:41Speaker 4: thy mother, and thy brethren do stand without seeking to
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: speak to thee. And he, answering, said to him who
- 1:02:48Speaker 4: spake to him, who is my mother? And who are
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: my brethren? And having stretched forth his hand toward his disciples,
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: he said, Lo, my mother and my brethren. For whoever
- 1:03:02Speaker 4: may do the will of my Father, who is in
- 1:03:05Speaker 4: the heavens, he is my brother and sister and mother.

- 1:03:28Speaker 4: Read by Maria James Matthew Young's literal translation, Chapter thirteen.
- 1:03:35Speaker 4: And in that day Jesus, having gone forth from the house,
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: was sitting by the sea, and gathered together unto him
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: were many multitudes, so that he, having gone into the boat,
- 1:03:46Speaker 4: did sit down, and all the multitude on the beach
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: did stand, and he spake to them many things, in
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: Simile's saying, Lo, the sewer went forth to sow, And
- 1:03:59Speaker 4: in his sewing, some indeed fell by the way, and
- 1:04:02Speaker 4: the fowls did come and devour them, and others fell
- 1:04:06Speaker 4: upon the rocky places where they had not much earth,
- 1:04:10Speaker 4: and immediately they sprang forth. Through not having depth of earth,
- 1:04:14Speaker 4: and the sun having risen, they were scorched, and through
- 1:04:18Speaker 4: not having root, they withered. And others fell upon the thorns,
- 1:04:23Speaker 4: and the thorns did come up and choke them. And
- 1:04:26Speaker 4: others fell upon the good ground and were giving fruit,
- 1:04:29Speaker 4: some indeed a hundredfold, and some sixty, and some thirty.
- 1:04:35Speaker 4: He who is having ears to hear, let him hear.
- 1:04:40Speaker 4: And the disciples, having come near, said to him, wherefore
- 1:04:44Speaker 4: in similes dost thou speak to them, And he answering,
- 1:04:49Speaker 4: said to them that to you it hath been given
- 1:04:53Speaker 4: to know the secrets of the reign of the heavens,
- 1:04:56Speaker 4: and to these it hath not been given. For whoever hath,
- 1:05:01Speaker 4: it shall be given to him, and hee shall have
- 1:05:04Speaker 4: over abundance. And whoever hath not, even that which he
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: hath shall be taken from him. Because of this, in
- 1:05:12Speaker 4: similes do I speak to them, because seeing they do
- 1:05:16Speaker 4: not see, and hearing they do not hear nor understand.
- 1:05:20Speaker 4: And fulfilled on them is the prophecy of Isaiah that
- 1:05:23Speaker 4: saith with hearing, ye shall hear, and ye shall not understand,
- 1:05:28Speaker 4: and seeing ye shall see, and ye shall not perceive.
- 1:05:32Speaker 4: For made gross was the heart of this people. And
- 1:05:36Speaker 4: with the ears they heard heavily, and their eyes they
- 1:05:39Speaker 4: did close lest they might see with the eyes, and
- 1:05:43Speaker 4: with the ears might hear, and with the heart understand,
- 1:05:47Speaker 4: and turn back, and I might heal them. And happy
- 1:05:51Speaker 4: are your eyes because they see, and your ears because
- 1:05:55Speaker 4: they hear. For verily, I say to you that many
- 1:05:58Speaker 4: prophets and righteous men did desire to see that which
- 1:06:02Speaker 4: ye look on, and they did not see, and to
- 1:06:05Speaker 4: hear that which ye hear, and they did not hear.
- 1:06:09Speaker 5: Ye.
- 1:06:10Speaker 4: Therefore hear ye the simile of the sower. Every one
- 1:06:14Speaker 4: hearing the word of the rain and not understanding the
- 1:06:18Speaker 4: evil one doth come and doth catch that which hath
- 1:06:21Speaker 4: been sown in his heart. This is that sown by
- 1:06:25Speaker 4: the way, and that sown on the rocky places. This
- 1:06:30Speaker 4: is he who is hearing the word and immediately with
- 1:06:33Speaker 4: joys receiving it. And he hath not root in himself,
- 1:06:37Speaker 4: but is temporary, and persecution or tribulation having happened because
- 1:06:42Speaker 4: of the word. Immediately he is stumbled. And that sown
- 1:06:47Speaker 4: toward the thorns. This is he who is hearing the
- 1:06:50Speaker 4: word and the anxiety of this age and the deceitfulness
- 1:06:54Speaker 4: of the riches do choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
- 1:07:00Speaker 4: And that son on the good ground, this is he
- 1:07:04Speaker 4: who is hearing the word and disunderstanding, who indeed doth
- 1:07:08Speaker 4: bear fruit and doth make some indeed a hundredfold, and
- 1:07:14Speaker 4: some sixty, and some thirty. Another simile he set before them, saying,
- 1:07:21Speaker 4: the rain of the heavens was likened to a man
- 1:07:24Speaker 4: sowing good seed in his field. And while men are sleeping,
- 1:07:28Speaker 4: his enemy came and sow darnel in the midst of
- 1:07:31Speaker 4: the wheat, and went away. And when the herb sprang
- 1:07:35Speaker 4: up and yielded fruit, then appeared also the darnel. And
- 1:07:40Speaker 4: the servants of the householder, having come nearer, said to him, sir,
- 1:07:45Speaker 4: good seed didst thou not sow in thy field? Whence
- 1:07:49Speaker 4: then hath it the darnel? And he saith to them
- 1:07:54Speaker 4: a man an enemy did this. And the servants said
- 1:07:57Speaker 4: to him, wilt thou then, that, having gone away, we
- 1:08:02Speaker 4: may gather it up? And he said, no, lest gathering
- 1:08:07Speaker 4: up the darnel, ye root up with it the wheat.
- 1:08:10Speaker 4: Suffer both to grow together till the harvest, And in
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: the time of the harvest, I will say to the reapers,
- 1:08:17Speaker 4: gather up first the darnel, and bind it in bundles
- 1:08:20Speaker 4: to burn it. And the wheat, gather up into my storehouse.
- 1:08:25Speaker 4: Another simile he set before them, saying, the rain of
- 1:08:30Speaker 4: the heavens is like to a grain of mustard, which
- 1:08:33Speaker 4: a man, having taken did so in his field, which less,
- 1:08:38Speaker 4: indeed is than all the seeds. But when it may
- 1:08:42Speaker 4: be grown, is the greatest of the herbs, and becometh
- 1:08:46Speaker 4: a tree, so that the birds of the heaven do
- 1:08:49Speaker 4: come and rest in its branches. Another simile spake he
- 1:08:54Speaker 4: to them. The rain of the heavens is like to leaven,
- 1:08:59Speaker 4: which a woman heaven taken, hid in three measures of meal,
- 1:09:03Speaker 4: till the whole was leavened. All these things spake Jesus
- 1:09:09Speaker 4: in similes to the multitudes, and without assimile. He was
- 1:09:13Speaker 4: not speaking to them, that it might be fulfilled that
- 1:09:16Speaker 4: was spoken through the prophet, saying, I will open in
- 1:09:20Speaker 4: similes my mouth. I will utter things having been hidden
- 1:09:24Speaker 4: from the foundation of the world. Then, having let away
- 1:09:29Speaker 4: the multitudes, Jesus came to the house, and his disciples
- 1:09:33Speaker 4: came near to him, saying, explain to us the simile
- 1:09:36Speaker 4: of the darnal of the field. And he answering, said
- 1:09:40Speaker 4: to them, he who is sowing the good seed is
- 1:09:43Speaker 4: the son of Man, and the field is the world,
- 1:09:47Speaker 4: and the good seed these are the sons of the rain,
- 1:09:51Speaker 4: and the darnal are the sons of the evil one.
- 1:09:55Speaker 4: And the enemy who sowed them is the devil. And
- 1:09:58Speaker 4: the harvest is a full end of the age. And
- 1:10:01Speaker 4: the reapers are messengers. As then the darnall is gathered
- 1:10:07Speaker 4: up and is burned with fire, so it shall be
- 1:10:10Speaker 4: in the full end of this age. The Son of
- 1:10:13Speaker 4: Man shall send forth his messengers, and they shall gather
- 1:10:17Speaker 4: up out of his kingdom all the stumbling blocks and
- 1:10:21Speaker 4: those doing the unlawlessness, and shall cast them to the
- 1:10:25Speaker 4: furnace of the fire. There shall be the weeping and
- 1:10:29Speaker 4: the gnashing of the teeth. Then shall the righteous shine
- 1:10:33Speaker 4: forth as the sun in the rain of their father.
- 1:10:37Speaker 4: He who is having ears to hear, let him hear again.
- 1:10:43Speaker 4: The rain of the heavens is like to treasure hid
- 1:10:46Speaker 4: in the field, which a man having found, did hide.
- 1:10:50Speaker 4: And from his joy goeth, And all as much as
- 1:10:54Speaker 4: he hath he selleth and buyeth that field again. The
- 1:10:59Speaker 4: rain of the heavens is like to a man a
- 1:11:02Speaker 4: merchant seeking goodly pearls, who, having found one pearl of
- 1:11:07Speaker 4: great price, having gone away, hath sold all as much
- 1:11:12Speaker 4: as he had and bought it again. The rain of
- 1:11:16Speaker 4: the heavens is like to a net that was cast
- 1:11:19Speaker 4: into the sea and did gather together of every kind, which,
- 1:11:25Speaker 4: when it was filled, having drawn up again upon the beach,
- 1:11:29Speaker 4: and having sat down, they gathered the good into vessels,
- 1:11:34Speaker 4: and the bad they did cast out. So it shall
- 1:11:37Speaker 4: be in the full end of the age the messengers
- 1:11:42Speaker 4: shall come forth and separate the evil out of the
- 1:11:45Speaker 4: midst of the righteous, and shall cast them to the
- 1:11:49Speaker 4: furnace of the fire. There shall be the weeping and
- 1:11:52Speaker 4: the gnashing of the teeth. Jesus saith to them, did
- 1:11:56Speaker 4: ye understand all these? They say to him, yes, sir.
- 1:12:01Speaker 4: And he said to them, because of this, every scribe,
- 1:12:06Speaker 4: having been discipled in regard to the reign of the heavens,
- 1:12:10Speaker 4: is like to a man a householder who doth bring
- 1:12:14Speaker 4: forth out of his treasure things new and old. And
- 1:12:18Speaker 4: it came to pass when Jesus finished these similes he
- 1:12:22Speaker 4: removed thence and having come to his own country, he
- 1:12:26Speaker 4: was teaching them in their synagogue, so that they were
- 1:12:30Speaker 4: astonished and were saying, whence to this one, this wisdom
- 1:12:34Speaker 4: and the mighty works? Is this not the carpenter's son.
- 1:12:39Speaker 4: Is not his mother called Mary? And his brethren James
- 1:12:42Speaker 4: and Josephs and Simon and Judas and his sisters? Are
- 1:12:47Speaker 4: they not all with us? Once then to this one,
- 1:12:51Speaker 4: all these and they were stumbled at him. And Jesus
- 1:12:57Speaker 4: said to them, a prophet is not with us honor,
- 1:13:01Speaker 4: except in his own country and in his own house.
- 1:13:05Speaker 4: And he did not bear many mighty works because of
- 1:13:08Speaker 4: their unbelief end of chapter thirteen.

- 1:13:33Speaker 3: literal translation chapter fourteen. At that time did Herod the
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: tetrarch hear the fame of Jesus and said to his servants,
- 1:13:43Speaker 3: this is John the Baptist. He did rise from the dead,
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: and because of this the mighty energies are working in him.
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: For Herod, having laid hold on John did bind him
- 1:13:55Speaker 3: and did put in prison because of Herodius, his brother
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: Philip's wife, for John was saying to him, it is
- 1:14:02Speaker 3: not lawful to thee to have her, and willing to
- 1:14:07Speaker 3: kill him. He feared the multitude because as a prophet
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: they were holding him. But the birthday of Herod being kept,
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: the daughter of Herodius danced in the midst and did
- 1:14:18Speaker 3: please Herod. Whereupon, with an oath, he professed to give
- 1:14:22Speaker 3: her whatever she might ask. And she, having been instigated
- 1:14:27Speaker 3: by her mother, give me, says she Here upon a
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: plate the head of John the Baptist. And the king
- 1:14:35Speaker 3: was grieved, but because of the oaths and of those
- 1:14:38Speaker 3: reclining with him, he commanded it to be given. And
- 1:14:41Speaker 3: having sent, he beheaded John in the prison, and his
- 1:14:45Speaker 3: head was brought upon a plate, and was given to
- 1:14:48Speaker 3: the damsel, and she brought it nigh to her mother,
- 1:14:52Speaker 3: and his disciples, having come, took up the body and
- 1:14:55Speaker 3: buried it. And having come they told Jesus, and Jesesus,
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: having heard withdrew thence in a boat to a desolate
- 1:15:03Speaker 3: place by himself, and the multitudes, having heard, did follow
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: him on land from the cities, and Jesus, having come forth,
- 1:15:13Speaker 3: saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion upon them,
- 1:15:17Speaker 3: and did heal their and firm an evening having come,
- 1:15:21Speaker 3: his disciples came to him, saying, the place is desolate,
- 1:15:25Speaker 3: and the hour hath now passed led away the multitudes, that,
- 1:15:29Speaker 3: having gone to the villages, they may buy to themselves food.
- 1:15:34Speaker 3: And Jesus said to them, they have no need to
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: go away, give ye them to eat. And they say
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: to him, we have not here except five loaves and
- 1:15:44Speaker 3: two fishes. And he said, bring ye them to me hither,
- 1:15:49Speaker 3: And having commanded the multitudes to recline upon the grass,
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: and having taken the five loaves and the two fishes,
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: having looked up to the heaven, he did blessed, And
- 1:16:00Speaker 3: having broken he gave the loaves to the disciples, and
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: the disciples to the multitudes. And they did all eat
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: and were filled. And they took up what was over
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: of the broken pieces, twelve hand baskets full. And those
- 1:16:15Speaker 3: eating were about five thousand men, apart from women and children.
- 1:16:21Speaker 3: And immediately Jesus constrained his disciples to go into the
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: boat and to go before him to the other side,
- 1:16:28Speaker 3: till he might let away the multitudes, And having let
- 1:16:32Speaker 3: away the multitudes, he went up to the mountain by
- 1:16:34Speaker 3: himself to pray. An evening having come he was there alone,
- 1:16:40Speaker 3: and the boat was now in the midst of the sea,
- 1:16:43Speaker 3: distressed by the waves, for the wind was contrary. And
- 1:16:47Speaker 3: in the fourth watch of the night, Jesus went away
- 1:16:50Speaker 3: to them, walking upon the sea. And the disciples, having
- 1:16:54Speaker 3: seen him walking upon the sea, were troubled, saying it
- 1:16:58Speaker 3: is an apparition. And from the fear they cried out,
- 1:17:02Speaker 3: And immediately Jesus spake to them, saying, be of good courage.
- 1:17:06Speaker 3: I am. He be not afraid, And Peter, answering him, said, Sir,
- 1:17:12Speaker 3: if it is thou, bid me come to thee upon
- 1:17:15Speaker 3: the waters. And he said come, And having gone down
- 1:17:19Speaker 3: from the boat, Peter walked upon the waters to come
- 1:17:22Speaker 3: unto Jesus. But seeing the wind vehement, he was afraid,
- 1:17:27Speaker 3: and having begun to sink, he cried out, saying, Sir,
- 1:17:31Speaker 3: save me. And immediately Jesus, having stretched forth the hand,
- 1:17:37Speaker 3: laid hold of him and saith to him little faith,
- 1:17:41Speaker 3: for what didst thou waver? And they, having gone to
- 1:17:45Speaker 3: the boat, the wind lulled, and those in the boat,
- 1:17:48Speaker 3: having come, did bow to him, saying, truly God's Son
- 1:17:52Speaker 3: art thou. And having passed over, they came to the
- 1:17:56Speaker 3: land of Genessaret, and having recognized him, the men of
- 1:18:00Speaker 3: that place sent forth to all that region round about,
- 1:18:04Speaker 3: and they brought to him all who were ill and
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: were calling on him, that they might only touch the
- 1:18:10Speaker 3: fringe of his garment, and as many as did touch
- 1:18:14Speaker 3: were saved. End of chapter fourteen. Chapter fifteen of Matthew

- 1:18:43Speaker 3: Then come unto Jesus, do they from Jerusalem scribes and pharisees, saying,
- 1:18:48Speaker 3: wherefore do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders?
- 1:18:53Speaker 3: For they do not wash their hands when they may
- 1:18:55Speaker 3: eat bread. And he answering said to them, wherefore, a
- 1:19:00Speaker 3: so do ye transgress the command of God because of
- 1:19:03Speaker 3: your tradition? For God did command saying, honor thy father
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: and mother. And he who is speaking evil of Father
- 1:19:12Speaker 3: or mother let him die the death. But ye say,
- 1:19:15Speaker 3: whoever may say to father or mother. An offering is
- 1:19:19Speaker 3: whatever thou mayest be profited by me, and he may
- 1:19:23Speaker 3: not honor his father or mother. And ye did set
- 1:19:26Speaker 3: aside the command of God because of your tradition, hypocrites.
- 1:19:31Speaker 3: Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying this, people doth
- 1:19:36Speaker 3: draw nigh to me with their mouth and with the
- 1:19:39Speaker 3: lips it doth honor me. But their heart is far
- 1:19:42Speaker 3: off from me, and in vain do they worship me.
- 1:19:46Speaker 3: Teaching teachings commands of men. And having called near the multitude,
- 1:19:52Speaker 3: he said to them, hear and understand not that which
- 1:19:56Speaker 3: is coming into the mouth doth defile the man. That
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: which is coming forth from the mouth, this defileth the man.
- 1:20:04Speaker 3: Then his disciples, having come nearer, said to him, hast
- 1:20:08Speaker 3: thou known that the Pharisees, having heard the word, were stumbled.
- 1:20:14Speaker 3: And he Answering said, every plant that my heavenly Father
- 1:20:19Speaker 3: did not plant shall be rooted up. Let them alone guides.
- 1:20:24Speaker 3: They are blind of blind, and if blind may guide blind,
- 1:20:29Speaker 3: both into a ditch shall fall. And Peter Answering said
- 1:20:33Speaker 3: to him, explain to us the simile. And Jesus said,
- 1:20:38Speaker 3: are ye also, yet without understanding do ye not understand
- 1:20:43Speaker 3: that all that is going into the mouth doth pass
- 1:20:46Speaker 3: into the belly, and into the drain is cast forth.
- 1:20:51Speaker 3: But the things coming forth from the mouth, from the heart,
- 1:20:54Speaker 3: do come forth, And these defile the man. For out
- 1:20:59Speaker 3: of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murderers, adulteries, portums, thefts,
- 1:21:06Speaker 3: false witnessings, evil speakings. These are the things defiling the man.
- 1:21:12Speaker 3: But to eat with unwashing hands doth not defile the man.
- 1:21:17Speaker 3: And Jesus having come forth, thence withdrew to the parts
- 1:21:21Speaker 3: of tire and sidon. And lo, a woman, a Canaanidis
- 1:21:25Speaker 3: from those borders, having come forth, did call to him, saying,
- 1:21:30Speaker 3: deal kindly with me, sir, son of David, my daughter
- 1:21:34Speaker 3: is miserably demonized. And he did not answer her a word.
- 1:21:38Speaker 3: And his disciples having come to him, or asking him, saying,
- 1:21:42Speaker 3: let her away, because she crieth after us, And he, answering, said,
- 1:21:48Speaker 3: I was not sent except to the lost sheep of
- 1:21:51Speaker 3: the house of Israel. And having come, she was bowing
- 1:21:55Speaker 3: to him, saying, sir, help me, And he, answering said,
- 1:22:00Speaker 3: it is not good to take the children's bread and
- 1:22:03Speaker 3: to cast to the little dogs. And she said, yes, sir,
- 1:22:07Speaker 3: for even the little dogs to eat of the crumbs
- 1:22:10Speaker 3: that are falling from their lord's table. Then, answering, Jesus
- 1:22:14Speaker 3: said to her, O woman, great is thy faith, Let
- 1:22:18Speaker 3: it be to thee as thou wilt. And her daughter
- 1:22:22Speaker 3: was healed from that hour. And Jesus having passed, thence
- 1:22:26Speaker 3: came nigh unto the sea of Galilee, and having gone
- 1:22:29Speaker 3: up to the mountain, he was sitting there, and there
- 1:22:32Speaker 3: came to him great multitudes, having with them lame, blind, dumb, maimed,
- 1:22:38Speaker 3: and many others. And they did cast them at the
- 1:22:41Speaker 3: feet of Jesus, and he healed them, so that the
- 1:22:45Speaker 3: multitudes did wonder, seeing dumb, one speaking, maimed, whole, lame, walking,
- 1:22:51Speaker 3: and blind seeing, and they glorified the God of Israel.
- 1:22:56Speaker 3: And Jesus, having called near his disciples, said, I have
- 1:23:00Speaker 3: compassion upon the multitude, because now three days they continue
- 1:23:05Speaker 3: with me, and they have not what they may eat.
- 1:23:09Speaker 3: And to let them away fasting, I will not lest
- 1:23:12Speaker 3: they faint in the way. And his disciples say to him,
- 1:23:17Speaker 3: whence to us in a wilderness so many loaves as
- 1:23:21Speaker 3: to fill so great a multitude. And Jesus saith to them,
- 1:23:26Speaker 3: how many loaves have ye, and they said seven, and
- 1:23:30Speaker 3: a few little fishes. And he commanded the multitudes to
- 1:23:33Speaker 3: sit down upon the ground. And having taken the seven
- 1:23:37Speaker 3: loaves and the fishes, having given thanks, he did break
- 1:23:42Speaker 3: and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
- 1:23:46Speaker 3: And they did all eat and were filled. And they
- 1:23:49Speaker 3: took up what was over of the broken pieces seven
- 1:23:53Speaker 3: baskets full. In those eating were four thousand men, apart
- 1:23:57Speaker 3: from women and children. And having led away the multitudes,
- 1:24:02Speaker 3: he went into the boat and did come to the
- 1:24:04Speaker 3: borders of Magdala. End of chapter fifteen. Chapter sixteen of

- 1:24:34Speaker 3: In the Pharisees and Sadducees, having come tempting, did question
- 1:24:39Speaker 3: him to show to them a sign from the heaven.
- 1:24:42Speaker 3: And he, answering, said to them, evening, having come, ye
- 1:24:47Speaker 3: say fair weather, for the heaven is read. And at
- 1:24:50Speaker 3: morning foul weather today, for the heaven is read. Gloomy
- 1:24:55Speaker 3: hypocrites the face of the heavens. Indeed, ye do no
- 1:24:59Speaker 3: to discern, but the signs of the times, ye are
- 1:25:02Speaker 3: not able. A generation evil and adulteress doth seek a sign,
- 1:25:07Speaker 3: and a sign shall not be given to it except
- 1:25:10Speaker 3: the sign of Jonah the Prophet. And having left them,
- 1:25:14Speaker 3: he went away, and his disciples, having come to the
- 1:25:18Speaker 3: other side, forgot to take loaves. And Jesus said to them, beware,
- 1:25:24Speaker 3: and take heed of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
- 1:25:28Speaker 3: And they were reasoning in themselves, saying, because we took
- 1:25:32Speaker 3: no loaves. And Jesus, having known, said to them, why
- 1:25:37Speaker 3: reason ye in yourselves, ye of little faith, because ye
- 1:25:41Speaker 3: took no loaves. Do ye not yet understand nor remember
- 1:25:46Speaker 3: the five loaves of the five thousand and how many
- 1:25:49Speaker 3: hand baskets ye took up, nor the seven loaves of
- 1:25:53Speaker 3: the four thousand and how many baskets ye took up.
- 1:25:58Speaker 3: How do ye not understand that I did not speak
- 1:26:01Speaker 3: to you of bread, to take heed of the leaven
- 1:26:04Speaker 3: of the Pharisees and Sadducees. Then they understood that he
- 1:26:09Speaker 3: did not say to take heed of the leaven of
- 1:26:11Speaker 3: the bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and
- 1:26:15Speaker 3: Sadducees and Jesus. Having come to the parts of cesarea,
- 1:26:19Speaker 3: Philippi was asking his disciples, saying, who do men say
- 1:26:24Speaker 3: me to be the son of Man? And they said
- 1:26:28Speaker 3: some John the Baptist, and others Elijah and others. Jeremiah
- 1:26:33Speaker 3: are one of the prophets. He saith to them, And ye,
- 1:26:37Speaker 3: who do ye say me to be? And Simon Peter
- 1:26:41Speaker 3: answering said, thou art the Christ, the son of the
- 1:26:45Speaker 3: Living God. And Jesus answering said to him, happy art
- 1:26:50Speaker 3: thou Simon Barjuna, because flesh and blood did not reveal
- 1:26:54Speaker 3: it to THEE, but my Father, who is in the heavens.
- 1:26:59Speaker 3: And I also say to THEE that thou art a
- 1:27:01Speaker 3: roc and upon this rock I will build my assembly,
- 1:27:06Speaker 3: and gates of hades shall not prevail against it. And
- 1:27:10Speaker 3: I will give to THEE the keys of the reign
- 1:27:12Speaker 3: of the heavens. And whatever thou mayest bind upon the
- 1:27:15Speaker 3: earth shall be, having been bound in the heavens. And
- 1:27:19Speaker 3: whatever thou mayst loose upon the earth shall be, having
- 1:27:23Speaker 3: been loose in the heavens. Then did he charge his
- 1:27:27Speaker 3: disciples that they may say to no one that he
- 1:27:30Speaker 3: is Jesus the Christ. From that time began Jesus to
- 1:27:34Speaker 3: show to his disciples that it is necessary for him
- 1:27:38Speaker 3: to go away to Jerusalem, and to suffer many things
- 1:27:41Speaker 3: from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and to
- 1:27:45Speaker 3: be put to death, and the third day to rise.
- 1:27:48Speaker 3: And having taken him aside, Peter began to rebuke him, saying,
- 1:27:52Speaker 3: be kind to thyself, sir, this shall not be to thee.
- 1:27:57Speaker 3: And he, having turned, said to Peter, get thee behind me. Adversary,
- 1:28:02Speaker 3: Thou art a stumbling block to me, for thou dost
- 1:28:05Speaker 3: not mind the things of God, but the things of men.
- 1:28:09Speaker 3: Then said Jesus to his disciples, if any one doth
- 1:28:12Speaker 3: will to come after me, let him disown himself and
- 1:28:16Speaker 3: take up his cross and follow me. For whoever may
- 1:28:19Speaker 3: will to save his life shall lose it, and whoever
- 1:28:23Speaker 3: may lose his life for my sake shall find it.
- 1:28:26Speaker 3: For what is a man profited if he may gain
- 1:28:29Speaker 3: the whole world, but of his life suffer loss. Or
- 1:28:33Speaker 3: what shall a man give as an exchange for his life?
- 1:28:36Speaker 3: For the son of Man is about to come in
- 1:28:39Speaker 3: the glory of his father, with his messengers and then
- 1:28:42Speaker 3: he will reward each according to his work. Verily, I
- 1:28:46Speaker 3: say to you, there are certain of those standing here
- 1:28:50Speaker 3: who shall not taste of death till they may see
- 1:28:53Speaker 3: the Son of Man coming in his reign. End of

- 1:29:19Speaker 3: Young's literal translation, Chapter seventeen. And after six days, Jesus
- 1:29:26Speaker 3: taketh Peter and James and John his brother, and doth
- 1:29:29Speaker 3: bring them up to a high mount by themselves, And
- 1:29:33Speaker 3: he was transfigured before them, and his face shone as
- 1:29:36Speaker 3: the sun, and his garments did become white as the light,
- 1:29:41Speaker 3: and lo appear to them did Moses and Elijah, talking
- 1:29:45Speaker 3: together with him, and Peter answering, said to Jesus, Sir,
- 1:29:50Speaker 3: it is good to us to be here. If thou wilt,
- 1:29:53Speaker 3: we may make here three booths for thee one and
- 1:29:57Speaker 3: for Moses one and one for Elijah. While he is
- 1:30:01Speaker 3: yet speaking, lo a bright cloud overshadowed them, and LO
- 1:30:05Speaker 3: a voice out of the cloud, saying, this is my
- 1:30:09Speaker 3: son though beloved in whom I did delight hear him.
- 1:30:15Speaker 3: And the disciples, having heard, did fall upon their face
- 1:30:19Speaker 3: and were exceedingly afraid. And Jesus, having come nearer, touched
- 1:30:24Speaker 3: them and said, rise, be not afraid. And having lifted
- 1:30:29Speaker 3: up their eyes, they saw no one except Jesus only.
- 1:30:33Speaker 3: And as they are coming down from the mount, Jesus
- 1:30:36Speaker 3: charged them, saying, say to no one the vision till
- 1:30:40Speaker 3: the Son of Man out of the dead, may rise.
- 1:30:44Speaker 3: And his disciples questioned him, saying, why then do the
- 1:30:48Speaker 3: scribes say that Elijah is behoveth to come first? And Jesus, answering,
- 1:30:54Speaker 3: said to them, Elijah doth indeed come first and shall
- 1:30:58Speaker 3: restore all things. And I say to you, Elijah did
- 1:31:02Speaker 3: already come. And they did not know him, but did
- 1:31:06Speaker 3: with him whatever they would. So also, the son of
- 1:31:10Speaker 3: Man is about to suffer by them. Then understood the
- 1:31:14Speaker 3: disciples that concerning John the Baptist. He spake to them,
- 1:31:18Speaker 3: And when they came unto the multitude, there came to
- 1:31:21Speaker 3: him a man, kneeling down to him and saying, Sir,
- 1:31:26Speaker 3: deal kindly with my son, for he is lunatic and
- 1:31:30Speaker 3: doth suffer miserably for often he doth fall into the fire,
- 1:31:34Speaker 3: and often into the water. And I brought him near
- 1:31:38Speaker 3: to thy disciples, and they were not able to heal him.
- 1:31:42Speaker 3: And Jesus, answering, said, O generation, unsteadfast and perverse, till
- 1:31:48Speaker 3: when shall I be with you, Till when shall I
- 1:31:51Speaker 3: bear you bring him to me hither? And Jesus rebuked him,
- 1:31:56Speaker 3: and the demon went out of him, and the lad
- 1:31:59Speaker 3: was healed from that hour. Then the disciples, having come
- 1:32:03Speaker 3: to Jesus by himself, said, wherefore were we not able
- 1:32:07Speaker 3: to cast him out? And Jesus said to them, through
- 1:32:11Speaker 3: your want of faith? For verily I say to you,
- 1:32:15Speaker 3: if you may have faith as a grain of mustard,
- 1:32:18Speaker 3: ye shall say to this mount remove hence to yonder place,
- 1:32:22Speaker 3: and it shall remove, and nothing shall be impossible to you.
- 1:32:26Speaker 3: And this kind doth not go forth except in prayer
- 1:32:29Speaker 3: and fasting. And while they are living in Galilee, Jesus
- 1:32:33Speaker 3: said to them, the son of Man is about to
- 1:32:36Speaker 3: be delivered up to the hands of men, and they
- 1:32:39Speaker 3: shall kill him, and the third day he shall rise.
- 1:32:43Speaker 3: And they were exceeding sorry, And they, having come to Capernaum,
- 1:32:47Speaker 3: those receiving the didrums came near to Peter, and said,
- 1:32:50Speaker 3: your teacher, doth he not pay the didrums? He saith yes.
- 1:32:56Speaker 3: And when he came into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying,
- 1:33:00Speaker 3: what thinkest thou, simon the kings of the earth from
- 1:33:03Speaker 3: whom do they receive custom or poll tax? From their
- 1:33:07Speaker 3: sons or from the strangers? Peter saith to him, from
- 1:33:11Speaker 3: the strangers. Jesus said to him, then are the sons free,
- 1:33:16Speaker 3: but that we may not cause them to stumble. Having
- 1:33:19Speaker 3: gone to the sea, cast a hook, and the fish
- 1:33:23Speaker 3: that hath come up first, take thou up, and having
- 1:33:26Speaker 3: opened its mouth, thou shalt find a stater, that, having taken,
- 1:33:31Speaker 3: give to them for me and thee and of Chapter seventeen.

- 1:33:58Speaker 3: literal translation Chapter eighteen. At that hour came the disciples
- 1:34:03Speaker 3: near to Jesus, saying, who now is greater in the
- 1:34:07Speaker 3: reign of the heavens? And Jesus, having called near a child,
- 1:34:11Speaker 3: did set him in the midst of them, and said Verily,
- 1:34:15Speaker 3: I say to you, if ye may not be turned
- 1:34:18Speaker 3: and become as the children, ye may not enter into
- 1:34:21Speaker 3: the rain of the heavens. Whoever then may humble himself
- 1:34:25Speaker 3: as this child, he is the greater in the reign
- 1:34:28Speaker 3: of the heavens. And he who may receive one such
- 1:34:31Speaker 3: child in my name doth receive me. And whoever may
- 1:34:35Speaker 3: cause to stumble one of those little ones who are
- 1:34:38Speaker 3: believing in me, it is better for him that a
- 1:34:41Speaker 3: weighty millstone may be hanged upon his neck, and he
- 1:34:44Speaker 3: may be sunk in the depth of the sea. Woe
- 1:34:48Speaker 3: to the world from the stumbling blocks, for there is
- 1:34:51Speaker 3: a necessity for the stumbling blocks to come. But woe
- 1:34:55Speaker 3: to that man through whom the stumbling block doth come.
- 1:35:00Speaker 3: And if thy hand or thy foot doth cause thee
- 1:35:03Speaker 3: to stumble, cut them off and cast from thee, it
- 1:35:07Speaker 3: is good for thee to enter into the life lame
- 1:35:10Speaker 3: or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet
- 1:35:13Speaker 3: to be cast to the fire the age during And
- 1:35:17Speaker 3: if thine eye doth cause thee to stumble, pluck it
- 1:35:21Speaker 3: out and cast from thee, it is good for thee
- 1:35:24Speaker 3: one eye to enter into the life, rather than having
- 1:35:28Speaker 3: two eyes to be cast to the gahinna of the fire. Beware,
- 1:35:32Speaker 3: ye may not despise one of these little ones, For
- 1:35:36Speaker 3: I say to you that their messengers in the heavens
- 1:35:39Speaker 3: do always behold the face of my father, who is
- 1:35:42Speaker 3: in the heavens. For the son of Man did come
- 1:35:45Speaker 3: to save the lost. What think ye, if a man
- 1:35:49Speaker 3: may have an hundred sheep, and there may go astray
- 1:35:53Speaker 3: one of them, doth he, not having left the ninety nine,
- 1:35:56Speaker 3: having gone on the mountains, seek that which is gone astray?
- 1:36:01Speaker 3: And if it may come to pass that he doth
- 1:36:04Speaker 3: find it. Verily, I say to you that he doth
- 1:36:07Speaker 3: rejoice over it more than over the ninety nine that
- 1:36:10Speaker 3: have not gone astray. So it is not will in
- 1:36:14Speaker 3: presence of your father, who is in the heavens, that
- 1:36:17Speaker 3: one of these little ones may perish. And if thy
- 1:36:21Speaker 3: brother may sin against THEE, go and show him his
- 1:36:24Speaker 3: fault between THEE and him alone. If he may hear THEE,
- 1:36:29Speaker 3: thou disgain thy brother. And if he may not here
- 1:36:33Speaker 3: take with THEE yet one or two, that by the
- 1:36:36Speaker 3: mouth of two witnesses or three, every word may stand.
- 1:36:41Speaker 3: And if he may not hear them, say it to
- 1:36:44Speaker 3: the Assembly. And if also the assembly he may not hear,
- 1:36:48Speaker 3: let him be to thee as the heathen man and
- 1:36:51Speaker 3: the tax gatherer. Verily, I say to you, whatever things
- 1:36:56Speaker 3: ye may bind upon the earth, shall be having been
- 1:36:59Speaker 3: bound in the heaven. And whatever things you may loose
- 1:37:02Speaker 3: on the earth shall be having been loose in the heavens. Again,
- 1:37:07Speaker 3: I say to you that if two of you may
- 1:37:09Speaker 3: agree on the earth concerning anything, whatever they may ask,
- 1:37:14Speaker 3: it shall be done to them from my Father, who
- 1:37:16Speaker 3: is in the heavens. For where there are two or
- 1:37:20Speaker 3: three gathered together to my name, there am I in
- 1:37:24Speaker 3: the midst of them. Then Peter, having come near to him, said, sir,
- 1:37:30Speaker 3: how often shall my brother sin against me? And I
- 1:37:33Speaker 3: forgive him till seven times? Jesus saith to him. I
- 1:37:38Speaker 3: do not say to thee till seven times, but till
- 1:37:42Speaker 3: seventy times seven. Because of this was the reign of
- 1:37:46Speaker 3: the heavens likened to a man, a king who did
- 1:37:50Speaker 3: will to take reckoning with his servants. And he having
- 1:37:54Speaker 3: begun to take account, there was brought near to him
- 1:37:57Speaker 3: one debtor of a meread of town tllce, And he,
- 1:38:01Speaker 3: having nothing to pay his lord, did command him to
- 1:38:04Speaker 3: be sold, and his wife and the children, and all
- 1:38:08Speaker 3: whatever he had, and payment to be made. The servant, then,
- 1:38:13Speaker 3: having fallen down, was bowing to him, saying, sir, have
- 1:38:17Speaker 3: patience with me, and I will pay thee all. And
- 1:38:21Speaker 3: the lord of that servant, having been moved with compassion,
- 1:38:25Speaker 3: did release him, and the debt he forgave him. And
- 1:38:30Speaker 3: that servant, having come forth, found one of his fellow servants,
- 1:38:34Speaker 3: who was owing him a hundred denaries, and having laid hold,
- 1:38:39Speaker 3: he took him by the throat, saying, pay me that
- 1:38:42Speaker 3: which thou owest. His fellow servant, then, having fallen down
- 1:38:47Speaker 3: at his feet, was calling on him, saying, have patience
- 1:38:50Speaker 3: with me, and I will pay thee all. And he
- 1:38:54Speaker 3: would not. But having gone away, he cast him into
- 1:38:57Speaker 3: prison till he might pay that which was owing. And
- 1:39:02Speaker 3: his fellow servants, having seen the things that were done,
- 1:39:06Speaker 3: were grieved exceedingly, and having come showed fully to their
- 1:39:10Speaker 3: lord all the things that were done. Then, having called
- 1:39:15Speaker 3: him his lord, saith to him, evil servant, all that
- 1:39:20Speaker 3: debt I did forgive. Thee, seeing thou distcall upon me,
- 1:39:25Speaker 3: did it not behoove also THEE to have dealt kindly
- 1:39:29Speaker 3: with thy fellow servant, as I also dealt kindly with thee,
- 1:39:34Speaker 3: And having been wroth, his Lord delivered him to the
- 1:39:37Speaker 3: inquisitors till he might pay all that was owing to him.
- 1:39:42Speaker 3: So also, my heavenly Father will do to the you,
- 1:39:46Speaker 3: if ye may not forgive each one his brother from
- 1:39:49Speaker 3: your hearts their trespasses and of chapter.

- 1:40:21Speaker 6: it came to pass when Jesus finished these words, he
- 1:40:25Speaker 6: removed from Galilee, and did come to the borders of Judea,
- 1:40:30Speaker 6: beyond the Jordan, and great multitudes followed him, and he
- 1:40:34Speaker 6: healed them there. And the Pharisees came near to him,
- 1:40:38Speaker 6: tempting him and saying to him, is it lawful for
- 1:40:41Speaker 6: a man to put away his wife for every cause?
- 1:40:45Speaker 6: And he, answering, said to them, did ye not read
- 1:40:48Speaker 6: that he who make them from the beginning a male
- 1:40:52Speaker 6: and female made them? And said, for this cause shall
- 1:40:55Speaker 6: a man leave his father and mother and cleave to
- 1:40:58Speaker 6: his wife, and they shall be the two for one flesh,
- 1:41:03Speaker 6: so that they are no more too, but one flesh.
- 1:41:07Speaker 6: What therefore God did join together, let no man put asunder?
- 1:41:12Speaker 6: They say to him, Why then did Moses command to
- 1:41:15Speaker 6: give a role of divorce and to put her away?
- 1:41:19Speaker 6: He saith to them, Moses, for your stiffness of heart
- 1:41:23Speaker 6: did suffer you to put away your wives. But from
- 1:41:26Speaker 6: the beginning it hath not been so. And I say
- 1:41:30Speaker 6: to you that whoever may put away his wife, if
- 1:41:33Speaker 6: not for horedom, and may marry another, doth commit adultery.
- 1:41:38Speaker 6: And he who did marry her that hath been put away,
- 1:41:41Speaker 6: doth commit adultery. His disciples say to him, if the
- 1:41:46Speaker 6: case of the man with the woman is so, it
- 1:41:49Speaker 6: is not good to marry. And he said to them, all,
- 1:41:53Speaker 6: do not receive this word. But those to whom it
- 1:41:55Speaker 6: hath been given. For there are eunuchs who from the
- 1:41:59Speaker 6: mother's womb were so born, and there are eunuchs who
- 1:42:03Speaker 6: were made eunuchs by men. And there are eunuchs who
- 1:42:06Speaker 6: kept themselves eunuchs because of the rain of the heavens.
- 1:42:10Speaker 6: But he who is able to receive it, Let him receive.
- 1:42:14Speaker 6: Then were brought near to him children that he might
- 1:42:17Speaker 6: put hands on them and pray. And the disciples rebuked them,
- 1:42:22Speaker 6: But Jesus said, suffer the children, and forbid them not
- 1:42:25Speaker 6: to come unto me, for of such is the reign
- 1:42:29Speaker 6: of the heavens. And having laid on them his hands,
- 1:42:32Speaker 6: he departed. Thence and lo one, having come near, said
- 1:42:36Speaker 6: to him, good teacher, what good thing shall I do?
- 1:42:40Speaker 6: That I may have life age during? And he said
- 1:42:43Speaker 6: to him, why me dost thou call good? No one
- 1:42:47Speaker 6: is good except one God. But if thou dost will
- 1:42:51Speaker 6: to enter into the life, keep the commands. He saith
- 1:42:56Speaker 6: to him, what kind? And Jesus said, thou shalt not kill,
- 1:43:01Speaker 6: Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, thou
- 1:43:06Speaker 6: shalt not bear false witness. Honor thy father and mother,
- 1:43:10Speaker 6: and thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. The young
- 1:43:15Speaker 6: man saith to him, all these did I keep from
- 1:43:18Speaker 6: my youth? What yet do I lack? Jesus said to him,
- 1:43:23Speaker 6: if thou dost will to be perfect, go away, sell
- 1:43:26Speaker 6: what thou hast and give to the poor. And thou
- 1:43:30Speaker 6: shalt have treasure in heaven, and come follow me. And
- 1:43:35Speaker 6: the young man, having heard the word, went away sorrowful,
- 1:43:39Speaker 6: for he had many possessions. And Jesus said to his disciples, verily,
- 1:43:44Speaker 6: I say to you that hardly shall a rich man
- 1:43:47Speaker 6: enter into the rain of the heavens. And again I
- 1:43:50Speaker 6: say to you, it is easier for a camel to
- 1:43:52Speaker 6: the eye of a needle to go than for a
- 1:43:55Speaker 6: rich man to enter into the reign of God. And
- 1:43:59Speaker 6: his disciples, having heard, were amazed exceedingly, saying, who then
- 1:44:05Speaker 6: is able to be saved? And Jesus, having earnestly beheld,
- 1:44:09Speaker 6: said to them, with men, this is impossible, But with
- 1:44:14Speaker 6: God all things are possible. Then Peter answering said to him, Lo,
- 1:44:20Speaker 6: we did leave all and follow thee, what then shall
- 1:44:23Speaker 6: we have? And Jesus said to them, verily, I say
- 1:44:27Speaker 6: to you that ye who did follow me in the regeneration,
- 1:44:31Speaker 6: when the son of Men may sit upon a throne
- 1:44:34Speaker 6: of his glory, shall sit ye also upon twelve thrones,
- 1:44:39Speaker 6: judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And every one who
- 1:44:43Speaker 6: left houses or brothers or sisters, or father or mother
- 1:44:47Speaker 6: or wife, or children or fields for my name's sake,
- 1:44:51Speaker 6: an hundredfold shall receive, and life age during shall inherit,
- 1:44:57Speaker 6: and many first shall be last and last. First end

- 1:45:28Speaker 6: Young's literal translation twenty for the Reign of the Heavens
- 1:45:34Speaker 6: is like to a man a householder who went forth
- 1:45:38Speaker 6: with the morning to hire workmen for his vineyard, And
- 1:45:42Speaker 6: having agreed with the workmen for a denari a day,
- 1:45:46Speaker 6: he sent them into his vineyard. And having gone forth,
- 1:45:50Speaker 6: about the third hour, he saw others standing in the
- 1:45:53Speaker 6: marketplace idle, And to these he said, go ye also,
- 1:45:57Speaker 6: ye to the vineyard, and whatever may be righteous, I
- 1:46:00Speaker 6: will give you. And they went away again. Having gone
- 1:46:05Speaker 6: forth about the sixth and the ninth hour, he did
- 1:46:09Speaker 6: in like manner, and about the eleventh hour, having gone forth,
- 1:46:13Speaker 6: he found others standing idle, and saith to them, why
- 1:46:17Speaker 6: here have ye stood all the day? Idle? They say
- 1:46:21Speaker 6: to him, because no one did hire us he saith
- 1:46:24Speaker 6: to them, go ye ye also to the vineyard, and
- 1:46:28Speaker 6: whatever may be righteous, ye shall receive. And evening, having come,
- 1:46:33Speaker 6: the lord of the vineyard saith to his steward, call
- 1:46:36Speaker 6: the workmen and pay them the reward having begun from
- 1:46:40Speaker 6: the last unto the first. And they of about the
- 1:46:43Speaker 6: eleventh hour having come, did receive each a denary. And
- 1:46:48Speaker 6: the first, having come, did suppose that they shall receive more.
- 1:46:52Speaker 6: And they received they also each a denary, And having
- 1:46:56Speaker 6: received it, they were murmuring against the householderying that these
- 1:47:01Speaker 6: the last wrought one hour, and thou didst make them
- 1:47:04Speaker 6: equal to us, who were bearing the burden of the
- 1:47:07Speaker 6: day and the heat. And he answering, said to one
- 1:47:11Speaker 6: of them, Comrade, I do no unrighteousness to thee for
- 1:47:16Speaker 6: a denari? Didst not thou agree with me? Take that
- 1:47:19Speaker 6: which is thine and go, And I will to give
- 1:47:22Speaker 6: to this the last. Also as to THEE, is it
- 1:47:26Speaker 6: not lawful for me to do what I will? And
- 1:47:28Speaker 6: mine own? Is thine eye evil? Because I am good?
- 1:47:32Speaker 6: So the last shall be first and the first last.
- 1:47:36Speaker 6: For many are called and few chosen. And Jesus, going
- 1:47:41Speaker 6: up to Jerusalem, took the twelve disciples by themselves in
- 1:47:44Speaker 6: the way, and said to them, Lo, we go up
- 1:47:48Speaker 6: to Jerusalem, and the son of Man shall be delivered
- 1:47:51Speaker 6: to the chief priests and the scribes, and they shall
- 1:47:54Speaker 6: condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the
- 1:47:57Speaker 6: nations to mock and to scourge and to crucify, And
- 1:48:02Speaker 6: the third day he will rise again. Then came near
- 1:48:06Speaker 6: to him the mother of the sons of Zebede, with
- 1:48:08Speaker 6: her sons, bowing and asking something from him. And he
- 1:48:12Speaker 6: said to her, what wilt thou. She saith to him,
- 1:48:17Speaker 6: say that they may sit these my two sons, one
- 1:48:20Speaker 6: on thy right hand and one on the left, in
- 1:48:23Speaker 6: thy rain. And Jesus answering, said, ye have not known
- 1:48:28Speaker 6: what ye ask for yourselves. Are ye able to drink
- 1:48:31Speaker 6: of the cup I am about to drink? And with
- 1:48:34Speaker 6: the baptism that I am baptized with to be baptized?
- 1:48:39Speaker 6: They say to him, we are able. And he saith
- 1:48:42Speaker 6: to them, of my cup, Indeed ye shall drink, and
- 1:48:46Speaker 6: with the baptism that I am baptized with, ye shall
- 1:48:50Speaker 6: be baptized. But to sit on my right hand and
- 1:48:53Speaker 6: on my left is not mine to give, but to
- 1:48:56Speaker 6: those for whom it hath been prepared by my father.
- 1:49:00Speaker 6: And the ten, having heard, were much displeased with the
- 1:49:04Speaker 6: two brothers. And Jesus, having called them nearer, said, ye
- 1:49:08Speaker 6: have known that the rulers of the nations do exercise
- 1:49:11Speaker 6: lordship over them, and those great do exercise authority over them.
- 1:49:17Speaker 6: But not so shall it be among you. But whoever
- 1:49:20Speaker 6: may will among you to become great, let him be
- 1:49:23Speaker 6: your ministrant. And whoever may will among you to be first,
- 1:49:28Speaker 6: let him be your servant. Even as the son of
- 1:49:31Speaker 6: Man did not come to be ministered to, but to minister,
- 1:49:35Speaker 6: and to give his life a ransom for many. And they,
- 1:49:39Speaker 6: going forth from Jericho, there followed him a great multitude,
- 1:49:43Speaker 6: And lo, two blind men, sitting by the way, having
- 1:49:46Speaker 6: heard that Jesus doth pass by, cried, saying, deal kindly
- 1:49:51Speaker 6: with us, sir, son of David. And the multitude charged
- 1:49:54Speaker 6: them that they might be silent, And they cried out
- 1:49:57Speaker 6: the more, saying, deal kindly with us, sir, son of David.
- 1:50:02Speaker 6: And having stood, Jesus called them and said, what will
- 1:50:05Speaker 6: ye that I may do to you? They say to him, Sir,
- 1:50:09Speaker 6: that our eyes may be opened, And having been moved
- 1:50:13Speaker 6: with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes, and immediately their eyes
- 1:50:17Speaker 6: received sight, and they followed him. End of chapter twenty

- 1:50:49Speaker 6: translation twenty one. And when they came nigh to Jerusalem
- 1:50:54Speaker 6: and came to Bethphage unto the mount of the Olives,
- 1:50:58Speaker 6: then Jesus sent to decide piples, saying to them, go
- 1:51:02Speaker 6: on to the village over against you, and immediately ye
- 1:51:05Speaker 6: shall find an ass bound and a colt with her
- 1:51:09Speaker 6: having loosed. Bring ye to me. And if anyone may
- 1:51:12Speaker 6: say anything to you, ye shall say that the Lord
- 1:51:15Speaker 6: hath need of them, and immediately he will send them.
- 1:51:19Speaker 6: And all this came to pass, that it might be
- 1:51:22Speaker 6: fulfilled that was spoken through the prophet, saying, tell ye,
- 1:51:26Speaker 6: the daughter of Zion, lo thy king doth come to
- 1:51:29Speaker 6: thee meek and mounted on an ass and a colt,
- 1:51:33Speaker 6: a foal of a beast of burden. And the disciples
- 1:51:37Speaker 6: having gone and having done as Jesus commanded them, brought
- 1:51:41Speaker 6: the ass and the colt and did put on them
- 1:51:44Speaker 6: their garments, and set him upon them. And the very
- 1:51:47Speaker 6: great multitude spread their own garments in the way. And
- 1:51:51Speaker 6: others were cutting branches from the trees and were strowing
- 1:51:54Speaker 6: them in the way. And the multitudes who were going
- 1:51:57Speaker 6: before and who were following were crying, saying, Hosanna to
- 1:52:02Speaker 6: the son of David, Blessed is he who is coming
- 1:52:06Speaker 6: in the name of the Lord Hosanna in the highest.
- 1:52:10Speaker 6: And he having entered into Jerusalem, all the city was moved,
- 1:52:15Speaker 6: saying who is this? And the multitude said, this is Jesus,
- 1:52:19Speaker 6: the prophet, who is from Nazareth of Galilee. And Jesus
- 1:52:24Speaker 6: entered into the Temple of God and did cast forth
- 1:52:28Speaker 6: all those selling and buying in the temple, and the
- 1:52:31Speaker 6: tables of the money changers he overturned, and the seats
- 1:52:35Speaker 6: of those selling the doves. And he saith to them,
- 1:52:38Speaker 6: it hath been written my house a house of prayer
- 1:52:41Speaker 6: shall be called, But ye did make it a den
- 1:52:44Speaker 6: of robbers. And there came to him blind and lame
- 1:52:49Speaker 6: men in the temple, and he healed them, and the
- 1:52:52Speaker 6: chief priests in the scribes, having seen the wonderful things
- 1:52:56Speaker 6: that he did, and the children, crying in the temple
- 1:52:59Speaker 6: and saying Hosanna to the son of David, were much displeased.
- 1:53:04Speaker 6: And they said to him, hearest thou what THEE say?
- 1:53:08Speaker 6: And Jesus saith to them, yes, did ye never read
- 1:53:13Speaker 6: that out of the mouth of babes and sucklings, thou
- 1:53:16Speaker 6: didst prepare praise? And having left them, he went forth
- 1:53:21Speaker 6: out of the city to Bethany, and did lodge there.
- 1:53:24Speaker 6: And in the morning, turning back to the city, he hungered,
- 1:53:28Speaker 6: And having seen a certain fig tree on the way,
- 1:53:31Speaker 6: he came to it, and found nothing in it except
- 1:53:34Speaker 6: leaves only, And he saith to it no more from
- 1:53:37Speaker 6: thee may fruit be to the age. And forthwith the
- 1:53:41Speaker 6: fig tree withered, And the disciples, having seen, did wonder, saying,
- 1:53:46Speaker 6: how did the fig tree forthwith whither? And Jesus, answering,
- 1:53:50Speaker 6: said to them, verily, I say to you, if ye
- 1:53:54Speaker 6: may have faith and may not doubt, not only this
- 1:53:57Speaker 6: of the fig tree shall ye do. But even if
- 1:54:00Speaker 6: to this mount ye may say, be lifted up and
- 1:54:03Speaker 6: be cast into the sea, it shall come to pass.
- 1:54:07Speaker 6: And all as much as you may ask in the prayer,
- 1:54:10Speaker 6: believing ye shall receive. And he having come to the temple,
- 1:54:15Speaker 6: there came to him when teaching the chief priests and
- 1:54:18Speaker 6: the elders of the people, saying, by what authority dost
- 1:54:22Speaker 6: thou do these things? And who gave thee this authority?
- 1:54:26Speaker 6: And Jesus answering, said to them, I will ask you
- 1:54:30Speaker 6: I also one word, which if ye may tell me,
- 1:54:34Speaker 6: I also will tell you by what authority I do
- 1:54:37Speaker 6: these things? The baptism of John. Whence was it from
- 1:54:41Speaker 6: heaven or from men? And they were reasoning with themselves, saying,
- 1:54:48Speaker 6: if we should say from heaven, he will say to us,
- 1:54:51Speaker 6: wherefore then did ye not believe him? And if we
- 1:54:54Speaker 6: should say from men, we fear the multitude for all
- 1:54:58Speaker 6: hold John as prophet, And answering Jesus, they said, we
- 1:55:03Speaker 6: have not known. He said to them, he also, neither
- 1:55:07Speaker 6: do I tell you by what authority I do these things?
- 1:55:11Speaker 6: And what think ye? A man had two children, and
- 1:55:15Speaker 6: having come to the first, he said, child, go today
- 1:55:18Speaker 6: be working in my vineyard, And he, answering, said I
- 1:55:22Speaker 6: will not. But at last, having repented, he went, and
- 1:55:26Speaker 6: having come to the second, he said in the same manner,
- 1:55:30Speaker 6: and he, answering, said, I go, sir, and went not
- 1:55:34Speaker 6: Which of the two did the will of the father?
- 1:55:37Speaker 6: They say to him the first Jesus saith to them. Verily,
- 1:55:43Speaker 6: I say to you that the tax gatherers and the
- 1:55:45Speaker 6: harlots do go before you into the reign of God.
- 1:55:49Speaker 6: For John came unto you in the way of righteousness,
- 1:55:52Speaker 6: and ye did not believe him, and the tax gatherers
- 1:55:55Speaker 6: and the harlots did believe him. And ye, having seen
- 1:55:59Speaker 6: repairanted not at last to believe him. Hear ye another simile.
- 1:56:05Speaker 6: There was a certain man, a householder, who planted a vineyard,
- 1:56:09Speaker 6: and did put a hedge round it, digged in it
- 1:56:12Speaker 6: a wine press, and built a tower, and gave it
- 1:56:15Speaker 6: out two husbandmen, and went abroad. And when the season
- 1:56:20Speaker 6: of the fruits came nigh, he sent his servants unto
- 1:56:23Speaker 6: the husbandman to receive the fruits of it. And the husbandman,
- 1:56:27Speaker 6: having taken his servants, one they scourged, and one they killed,
- 1:56:31Speaker 6: and one they stoned. Again. He sent other servants more
- 1:56:35Speaker 6: than the first, and they did to them in the
- 1:56:38Speaker 6: same manner. And at last he sent unto them his son,
- 1:56:42Speaker 6: saying they will reverence my son. And the husbandmen, having
- 1:56:47Speaker 6: seen the son, set among themselves this is the heir. Come,
- 1:56:51Speaker 6: we may kill him and may possess his inheritance. And
- 1:56:56Speaker 6: having taken him, they cast him out of the vineyard
- 1:56:59Speaker 6: and killed him. Whenever therefore the Lord of the vineyard
- 1:57:02Speaker 6: may come, What will he do to these husbandmen? They
- 1:57:06Speaker 6: say to him, evil men, He will evillly destroy them,
- 1:57:10Speaker 6: and the vineyard will give out to other husbandmen, who
- 1:57:13Speaker 6: will give back to him the fruits in their seasons.
- 1:57:17Speaker 6: Jesus saith to them. Did you never read in the
- 1:57:21Speaker 6: writings a stone that the builders disallowed? It became the
- 1:57:25Speaker 6: head of a corner from the Lord? Hath this come
- 1:57:28Speaker 6: to pass? And it is wonderful in our eyes? Because
- 1:57:32Speaker 6: of this, I say to you that the reign of
- 1:57:35Speaker 6: God shall be taken from you and given to a
- 1:57:38Speaker 6: nation bringing forth its fruit. And he who is falling
- 1:57:42Speaker 6: on this stone shall be broken, and on whomsoever it
- 1:57:46Speaker 6: may fall, it will crush him to pieces. And the
- 1:57:51Speaker 6: chief priests in the Pharisees, having heard his similes, knew
- 1:57:55Speaker 6: that of them he speaketh, and seeking to lay hold
- 1:57:58Speaker 6: on him, they feared the multitudes, seeing they were holding
- 1:58:02Speaker 6: him as a prophet. End of chapter twenty one, read

- 1:58:28Speaker 7: Young's literal translation chapter twenty two, and Jesus answering again
- 1:58:34Speaker 7: spake to them in Simile's saying, the reign of the
- 1:58:37Speaker 7: heavens was likened to a man, a king who made
- 1:58:41Speaker 7: marriage feast for his son. And he sent forth his
- 1:58:44Speaker 7: servants to call those having been called to the marriage feast,
- 1:58:48Speaker 7: and they were not willing to come again. He sent
- 1:58:51Speaker 7: forth other servants, saying, say, to those who have been called,
- 1:58:55Speaker 7: lo my dinner. I prepared my oxen, and the fatlings
- 1:58:58Speaker 7: have been killed in all things are ready, come ye
- 1:59:02Speaker 7: to the marriage feast. And they, having disregarded it, went away,
- 1:59:07Speaker 7: the one to his own field, and the other to
- 1:59:09Speaker 7: his merchandise. And the rest, having laid hold on his servants,
- 1:59:13Speaker 7: did insult and slay them. And the king, having heard,
- 1:59:17Speaker 7: was wroth, and having sent forth his soldiers, he destroyed
- 1:59:21Speaker 7: those murderers, and their city set on fire. Then saith
- 1:59:25Speaker 7: he to his servants. The marriage feast indeed is ready,
- 1:59:28Speaker 7: And those called were not worthy be going then unto
- 1:59:31Speaker 7: the crossways, and as many as ye may find, quo
- 1:59:34Speaker 7: ye to the marriage feasts. And those servants, having gone
- 1:59:38Speaker 7: forth to the ways, did gather all as many as
- 1:59:41Speaker 7: they found, both bad and good. And the marriage feast
- 1:59:44Speaker 7: apartment was filled with those reclining. And the King, having
- 1:59:48Speaker 7: come in to view those reclining, saw there a man
- 1:59:50Speaker 7: not clothed with clothing of the marriage feast, and he
- 1:59:54Speaker 7: saith to him, comrade, how didst thou come in hither,
- 1:59:57Speaker 7: not having clothing of the marriage feast? And he was speechless.
- 2:00:01Speaker 7: Then said the King to the ministrance, having bound his
- 2:00:05Speaker 7: feet and hands, take him up and cast forth to
- 2:00:08Speaker 7: the outer darkness. There shall be the weeping and the
- 2:00:11Speaker 7: gnashing of the teeth, for many are cold, and few chosen.
- 2:00:15Speaker 7: Then the Pharisees, having gone to counsel, how they might
- 2:00:18Speaker 7: ensnare him in words, And they send him their disciples
- 2:00:22Speaker 7: with the heridian, saying, teacher, we have known that thou
- 2:00:25Speaker 7: art true, and the way of God in truth, thou
- 2:00:28Speaker 7: dost teach, and thou art not caring for any one
- 2:00:32Speaker 7: for thou dost not look to the face of men,
- 2:00:34Speaker 7: tell us, therefore, what dost thou think is it lawful
- 2:00:38Speaker 7: to give tribute to Caesar or not? And Jesus, having
- 2:00:41Speaker 7: known their wickedness, said, why me, do ye tempt hypocrites?
- 2:00:45Speaker 7: Show me the tribute coin? And they brought to him
- 2:00:48Speaker 7: a denari, And he saith to them, who is this
- 2:00:52Speaker 7: image in the inscription? They say to him Caesar's. Then
- 2:00:56Speaker 7: saith he to them. Render therefore the things of Caesar
- 2:00:59Speaker 7: to Caesar, and the things of God to God. And
- 2:01:03Speaker 7: having heard, they wondered. In having left him, they went away,
- 2:01:07Speaker 7: And that day there came near to him Satucees, who
- 2:01:10Speaker 7: were saying, there is not a rising again. And they
- 2:01:13Speaker 7: questioned him, saying, teacher Moses said, if any one may die,
- 2:01:17Speaker 7: not having children, his brother shall marry his wife and
- 2:01:20Speaker 7: shall raise up seed to his brother. And there were
- 2:01:23Speaker 7: with us seven brothers, and the first, having married, to
- 2:01:26Speaker 7: die and not having seed, he left his wife to
- 2:01:29Speaker 7: his brother, And like man are also the second and
- 2:01:32Speaker 7: the third, unto the seventh, and last of all died
- 2:01:35Speaker 7: also the woman. Therefore in the rising again, of which
- 2:01:39Speaker 7: of the seven shall she be wife? For all had her,
- 2:01:43Speaker 7: and Jesus, answering, said to them, ye go astray, not
- 2:01:46Speaker 7: knowing the writings nor the power of God. For in
- 2:01:49Speaker 7: the rising again they do not marry, nor are they
- 2:01:52Speaker 7: given in marriage, but are as messengers of God in heaven.
- 2:01:57Speaker 7: And concerning the rising again of the dead, did ye
- 2:02:00Speaker 7: not read that which was spoken to you by God,
- 2:02:03Speaker 7: saying I am the God of Abraham, and the God
- 2:02:05Speaker 7: of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. God is not
- 2:02:08Speaker 7: a god of dead men, but of living. And having heard,
- 2:02:12Speaker 7: the multitudes were astonished at his teaching, and the Pharisees,
- 2:02:16Speaker 7: having heard that he did silence. The Sadducees were gathered
- 2:02:19Speaker 7: together unto him, and one of them, a lawyer, did question,
- 2:02:23Speaker 7: tempting him and saying, Teacher, which is the great command
- 2:02:26Speaker 7: and the Law? And Jesus said to him, thou shalt
- 2:02:29Speaker 7: love the Lord, thy God, with all thy heart and
- 2:02:31Speaker 7: with all thy soul, and with all thine understanding. This
- 2:02:35Speaker 7: is a first in great command, and the second is
- 2:02:39Speaker 7: like to it, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
- 2:02:43Speaker 7: On these the two commands all the law and the
- 2:02:45Speaker 7: prophets to hang in. The Pharisees having been gathered together.
- 2:02:50Speaker 7: Jesus did question them, saying, what do you think concerning
- 2:02:53Speaker 7: the Christ? Of whom is his son? They say to him,
- 2:02:57Speaker 7: of David. He saith to them, how then doth David
- 2:03:01Speaker 7: in the spirit call him Lord? Saying the Lord said
- 2:03:04Speaker 7: to my Lord, sit at my right hand, till I
- 2:03:07Speaker 7: may make thine enemies thy footstool. If then David doth
- 2:03:11Speaker 7: call him Lord, how is he his son? And no
- 2:03:14Speaker 7: one was able to answer him a word, nor durst
- 2:03:17Speaker 7: any from that day question him any more? End of

- 2:03:40Speaker 7: Matthew Young's literal translation, Chapter twenty three. Then Jesus spake
- 2:03:46Speaker 7: to the multitudes and to his disciples, saying, on the
- 2:03:50Speaker 7: seat of Moses sat down the scribes and the Pharisees. All, then,
- 2:03:54Speaker 7: as much as they may say to you to observe, observe,
- 2:03:57Speaker 7: and do, but according to their work, do not, For
- 2:04:01Speaker 7: they say and do not, for they bind together burdens
- 2:04:04Speaker 7: heavy and grievous to be borne and lay upon the
- 2:04:07Speaker 7: shoulders of men. But with their finger they will not
- 2:04:10Speaker 7: move them. And all their works they do to be
- 2:04:13Speaker 7: seen by men, and they make broad their philacteries and
- 2:04:17Speaker 7: enlarge the fringes of their garments. They love also the
- 2:04:20Speaker 7: chief couches in the supper, and the chief seats, and
- 2:04:23Speaker 7: the synagogues, and the salutations in the market places. And
- 2:04:27Speaker 7: to be called by men Rabbi, rabbi in ye, ye
- 2:04:31Speaker 7: may not be called rabbi, for one is your director,
- 2:04:34Speaker 7: the Christ, and all ye are brethren. And ye may
- 2:04:37Speaker 7: not call any your father on the earth, for one
- 2:04:40Speaker 7: is your father, who is in the heavens. Nor may
- 2:04:43Speaker 7: ye be called directors. For one is your director, the Christ,
- 2:04:48Speaker 7: and the greater of you shall be your ministrant. And
- 2:04:51Speaker 7: whoever shall exalt himself shall be humbled, and whoever shall
- 2:04:55Speaker 7: humble himself shall be exalted. Woe to you scribes and
- 2:04:59Speaker 7: pharisee hypocrites, because you shut up the rain of the
- 2:05:03Speaker 7: heavens before men, for you do not go in, nor
- 2:05:06Speaker 7: those going in do ye suffer to enter. Woe to
- 2:05:10Speaker 7: you scribes and heresies hypocrites, because you eat up the
- 2:05:13Speaker 7: houses of the widows, and for a pretense make long prayers.
- 2:05:17Speaker 7: Because of this ye shall receive more abundant judgment. Woe
- 2:05:21Speaker 7: to you scribes and pharisees, hypocrites, because you go round
- 2:05:25Speaker 7: the sea and the dry land to make one proselyte,
- 2:05:28Speaker 7: and whenever it may happen, you make him a son
- 2:05:31Speaker 7: of Gehenna twofold, more than yourselves. Woe to you blind
- 2:05:35Speaker 7: guides who are saying, whoever may swear by the sanctuary,
- 2:05:39Speaker 7: it is nothing, But whoever may swear by the gold
- 2:05:41Speaker 7: of the sanctuary is debtor, fools and blind. For which
- 2:05:46Speaker 7: is greater the gold or the sanctuary that is sanctifying
- 2:05:49Speaker 7: the gold? And whoever may swear by the altar it
- 2:05:52Speaker 7: is nothing. But whoever may swear by the gift that
- 2:05:55Speaker 7: is upon it is debtor, fools and blind, For which
- 2:05:59Speaker 7: is greater than gift or the altar that is sanctifying
- 2:06:02Speaker 7: the gift. He therefore, who did swear by the altar,
- 2:06:05Speaker 7: doth swear by it and by all things on it.
- 2:06:08Speaker 7: And he who did swear by the sanctuary doth swear
- 2:06:11Speaker 7: by it and by him who is dwelling in it.
- 2:06:14Speaker 7: And he who did swear by the heaven doth swear
- 2:06:17Speaker 7: by the throne of God and by Him who is
- 2:06:19Speaker 7: sitting upon it. Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites,
- 2:06:24Speaker 7: because you give tithe of the mint and the dill
- 2:06:27Speaker 7: and the cuman, and did neglect the weightier things of
- 2:06:29Speaker 7: the law, the judgment, and the kindness and the faith.
- 2:06:33Speaker 7: These it behooved you to do, and those not to neglect.
- 2:06:38Speaker 7: Blind guides who are straining out the gnat and the
- 2:06:40Speaker 7: camel are swathowing woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites,
- 2:06:45Speaker 7: because you may clean the outside of the cup and
- 2:06:47Speaker 7: the plate, and within they are full of rapine and incontinents.
- 2:06:52Speaker 7: Blind Pharisee, cleanse first the inside of the cup and
- 2:06:55Speaker 7: the plate, that the outside of them also may become clean.
- 2:07:00Speaker 7: To you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you are like
- 2:07:03Speaker 7: to whitewash suppulcures which outwardly indeed do appear beautiful, and
- 2:07:08Speaker 7: within are full of bones of dead men and of
- 2:07:11Speaker 7: all uncleanness. So also ye, outwardly indeed do appear to
- 2:07:16Speaker 7: men righteous, and within ye are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.
- 2:07:20Speaker 7: Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you build
- 2:07:24Speaker 7: the sepulcures of the prophets, and adorn the tombs of
- 2:07:27Speaker 7: the righteous. And say, if we had been in the
- 2:07:30Speaker 7: days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers
- 2:07:33Speaker 7: with them in the blood of the prophets. So that
- 2:07:36Speaker 7: ye testify to yourselves that ye are sons of them
- 2:07:39Speaker 7: who did murder the prophets, And ye you fill up
- 2:07:42Speaker 7: the measure of your fathers serpents brute of vipers. How
- 2:07:46Speaker 7: may ye escape from the judgment of the Gahenna because
- 2:07:50Speaker 7: of this lo I send to you prophets and wise
- 2:07:52Speaker 7: men and scribes, And of them you will kill and crucify,
- 2:07:56Speaker 7: And of them you will scourge in your synagogues, and
- 2:07:59Speaker 7: will pursue from city to city, that on you may
- 2:08:02Speaker 7: come all the righteous blood being poured out on the earth,
- 2:08:05Speaker 7: from the blood of Abel the Righteous, unto the blood
- 2:08:08Speaker 7: of Zachariah, son of Barrachius, whom ye slew between the
- 2:08:11Speaker 7: sanctuary and the altar. Verily, I say to you, all
- 2:08:15Speaker 7: these things shall come upon this generation Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that
- 2:08:20Speaker 7: art killing the prophets and stoning those sent unto thee.
- 2:08:23Speaker 7: How often did I will to gather thy children together
- 2:08:26Speaker 7: as a hen doth gather her own chickens under the wings,
- 2:08:30Speaker 7: and he did not will lo left desolate to you
- 2:08:33Speaker 7: as your house. For I say to you, ye may
- 2:08:36Speaker 7: not see me henceforth till ye may say, blessed is
- 2:08:39Speaker 7: he who is coming in the name of the Lord.

- 2:09:06Speaker 7: twenty four. And having gone forth, Jesus departed from the temple,
- 2:09:11Speaker 7: and his disciples came nearer to show him the buildings
- 2:09:14Speaker 7: of the temple. And Jesus said to them, do ye
- 2:09:17Speaker 7: not see all these? Verily, I say to you, there
- 2:09:20Speaker 7: may not be left here a stone upon a stone
- 2:09:22Speaker 7: that shall not be thrown down. And when he is
- 2:09:25Speaker 7: sitting on the mount of Olives, the disciples came near
- 2:09:28Speaker 7: to him by himself, saying, tell us when shall these be?
- 2:09:32Speaker 7: And what is the sign of thy presence and of
- 2:09:34Speaker 7: the full end of the age. And Jesus, answering, said
- 2:09:38Speaker 7: to them, take heed that no one may lead you astray,
- 2:09:42Speaker 7: For many shall come in my name, saying I am
- 2:09:44Speaker 7: the Christ, and they shall lead many astray, and ye
- 2:09:48Speaker 7: shall begin to hear of wars and reports of wars.
- 2:09:51Speaker 7: See be not troubled, for it behooveth all these to
- 2:09:54Speaker 7: come to pass. But the end is not yet. For
- 2:09:58Speaker 7: nation shall rise against nations, and kingdom against kingdom. And
- 2:10:02Speaker 7: there shall be famines and pestilences, and earthquakes in divers places,
- 2:10:07Speaker 7: and all these are the beginning of sorrows. Then they
- 2:10:10Speaker 7: shall deliver you up to tribulation and shall kill you.
- 2:10:14Speaker 7: And ye shall be hated by all the nations because
- 2:10:16Speaker 7: of my name. And then shall many be stumbled, and
- 2:10:19Speaker 7: they shall deliver up one another, and shall hate one another.
- 2:10:23Speaker 7: And many false prophets shall arise and shall lead many astray.
- 2:10:27Speaker 7: And because of the abounding of the lawlessness, the love
- 2:10:30Speaker 7: of the many shall become cold. But he who did
- 2:10:33Speaker 7: endure to the end, he shall be saved. In this
- 2:10:37Speaker 7: good news of the reign shall be proclaimed in all
- 2:10:39Speaker 7: the world for a testimony to all the nations. And
- 2:10:42Speaker 7: then shall the end arrive. Whenever therefore ye may see
- 2:10:46Speaker 7: the abomination of the desolation that was spoken of through
- 2:10:50Speaker 7: Daniel the prophet standing in the Holy place, whoever is reading,
- 2:10:55Speaker 7: let him observe. Then those in Judea, let them flee
- 2:10:59Speaker 7: to the mounts. He on the housetop, let him not
- 2:11:02Speaker 7: come down to take up anything out of his house.
- 2:11:04Speaker 7: And he in the field, let him not turn back
- 2:11:07Speaker 7: to take his garments. And woe to those with child
- 2:11:11Speaker 7: and to those giving suck in those days. And pray
- 2:11:14Speaker 7: ye that your flight may not be in winter, nor
- 2:11:16Speaker 7: on a sabbath, For there shall be then great tribulation
- 2:11:20Speaker 7: such as was not from the beginning of the world
- 2:11:22Speaker 7: till now, no nor may be. And if those days
- 2:11:25Speaker 7: were not shortened, no flesh would have been saved. But
- 2:11:28Speaker 7: because of the Chosen, shall those days be shortened. Then,
- 2:11:32Speaker 7: if any one may say to you, lo, here is
- 2:11:35Speaker 7: the Christ, or here ye may not believe, for there
- 2:11:38Speaker 7: shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and they shall
- 2:11:42Speaker 7: give great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray,
- 2:11:45Speaker 7: if possible, also the Chosen, Lo I did tell you beforehand.
- 2:11:51Speaker 7: If therefore they may say to you, lo in the
- 2:11:53Speaker 7: wilderness he is, ye may not go forth. Lo in
- 2:11:58Speaker 7: the inner chambers ye may not believe, For as the
- 2:12:02Speaker 7: lightning doth come forth from the east, and doth appear
- 2:12:05Speaker 7: unto the west. So shall be also the presence of
- 2:12:08Speaker 7: the Sun of Man. For wherever the carcass may be,
- 2:12:12Speaker 7: there shall the eagles be gathered together. And immediately after
- 2:12:16Speaker 7: the tribulation of those days, the sun shall be darken,
- 2:12:19Speaker 7: and the moon shall not give her light, and the
- 2:12:21Speaker 7: stars shall fall from the heaven, and the powers of
- 2:12:24Speaker 7: the heavens shall be shaken. And then shall appear the
- 2:12:27Speaker 7: sign of the Sun of Man in the heaven. And
- 2:12:29Speaker 7: then shall all the tribes of the earth smite the breast,
- 2:12:33Speaker 7: and they shall see the Sun of Man coming upon
- 2:12:35Speaker 7: the clouds of the heaven with power and much glory.
- 2:12:38Speaker 7: And he shall send his messengers with a great sound
- 2:12:41Speaker 7: of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his chosen
- 2:12:44Speaker 7: from the four winds, from the ends of the heavens
- 2:12:47Speaker 7: unto the ends thereof, and from the fig tree. Learn
- 2:12:50Speaker 7: ye the simile, when already its branch may have become
- 2:12:54Speaker 7: tender in the leaves it may put forth, Ye know
- 2:12:57Speaker 7: that the summer is nigh. So also ye, when ye
- 2:13:00Speaker 7: may see all these, ye know that it is nigh
- 2:13:03Speaker 7: at the doors. Verily, I say to you. This generation
- 2:13:07Speaker 7: may not pass away till all these may come to pass.
- 2:13:11Speaker 7: The heaven and the earth shall pass away, but my
- 2:13:13Speaker 7: words shall not pass away. And concerning that day and
- 2:13:17Speaker 7: the hour, no one hath known, not even the messengers
- 2:13:20Speaker 7: of the heavens, except my father only. And as the
- 2:13:24Speaker 7: days of Noah, so shall be also the presence of
- 2:13:26Speaker 7: the Son of Man. For as they were in the
- 2:13:29Speaker 7: days before the flood, eating and drinking, marrying and giving
- 2:13:32Speaker 7: in marriage, till the day Noah entered into the ark,
- 2:13:36Speaker 7: and they did not know till the flood came and
- 2:13:38Speaker 7: took all away, so shall be also the presence of
- 2:13:41Speaker 7: the Son of Man. Then two men shall be in
- 2:13:44Speaker 7: the field, the one is received and the one is left.
- 2:13:47Speaker 7: Two women shall be grinding in the mill, one is
- 2:13:50Speaker 7: received and one is left. Watch ye therefore, because ye
- 2:13:54Speaker 7: have not known in what hour your Lord doth come.
- 2:13:58Speaker 7: And this know that if the mass of the house
- 2:14:00Speaker 7: had known in what watch the thief doth come, he
- 2:14:03Speaker 7: had watched and not suffered his house to be broken through.
- 2:14:07Speaker 7: Because of this, also ye become ye ready, because in
- 2:14:10Speaker 7: what hour ye do not think the Son of Man
- 2:14:13Speaker 7: doth come? Who then is the servant faithful and wise,
- 2:14:17Speaker 7: whom his Lord did set over his household to give
- 2:14:20Speaker 7: them the nourishment in season. Happy that servant, whom his lord,
- 2:14:24Speaker 7: having come, shall find doing so verily. I say to
- 2:14:27Speaker 7: you that over all his substance he will set him.
- 2:14:31Speaker 7: And if that evil servant may say in his heart,
- 2:14:33Speaker 7: my Lord doth delay to come, and may begin to
- 2:14:36Speaker 7: beat the fellow's servants, and to eat and to drink
- 2:14:39Speaker 7: with a drunken the lord of that servant will arrive
- 2:14:42Speaker 7: in a day when he doth not expect, and in
- 2:14:44Speaker 7: an hour of which ye doth not know, and will
- 2:14:47Speaker 7: cut him off, and his portion with the hypocrites will appoint.
- 2:14:50Speaker 7: There shall be the weeping and the gnashing of the teeth.

- 2:15:25Speaker 8: Then shall the rain of the heavens be likened to
- 2:15:28Speaker 8: ten virgins, who, having taken their lamps, went forth to
- 2:15:32Speaker 8: meet the bridegroom and five of them were prudent and
- 2:15:36Speaker 8: five foolish. They who were foolish, having taken their lamps,
- 2:15:41Speaker 8: did not take with themselves oil. And the prudent took
- 2:15:45Speaker 8: oil in their vessels with their lamps, and the bridegroom tarrying.
- 2:15:50Speaker 8: They all nodded and were sleeping, and in the middle
- 2:15:53Speaker 8: of the night a cry was made, lo the bridegroom
- 2:15:57Speaker 8: doth come, go ye forth to meet him. Then rose
- 2:16:01Speaker 8: all those virgins and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish
- 2:16:06Speaker 8: said to the prudent, give us of your oil, because
- 2:16:10Speaker 8: our lamps are going out. And the prudent answered, saying,
- 2:16:15Speaker 8: lest there may not be sufficient for us, And you
- 2:16:18Speaker 8: go ye rather unto those selling, and buy for yourselves.
- 2:16:23Speaker 8: And while they are going away to buy, the bridegroom came,
- 2:16:27Speaker 8: and those ready went in with him to the marriage feasts.
- 2:16:32Speaker 8: And the door was shut. And afterwards come also do
- 2:16:36Speaker 8: the rest of the virgin, saying, sir, sir, open to us.
- 2:16:41Speaker 8: And he, answering, said, fairly, I say to you, I
- 2:16:45Speaker 8: have not known you watch therefore, for ye have not
- 2:16:50Speaker 8: known the day nor the hour in which the sun
- 2:16:53Speaker 8: of man doth come. For as a man going abroad,
- 2:16:57Speaker 8: did call his own servants, and did deliver to them
- 2:17:01Speaker 8: his substance. And to one he gave five talents, and
- 2:17:05Speaker 8: to another two, and to another one to each according
- 2:17:10Speaker 8: to his several ability, went abroad immediately. And he who
- 2:17:15Speaker 8: did receive the five talents, having gone, wrought with them
- 2:17:19Speaker 8: and made other five talents in like manner. Also he
- 2:17:24Speaker 8: who received the two he gained, also he other two.
- 2:17:28Speaker 8: And he who did receive the one, having gone away,
- 2:17:32Speaker 8: digged in the earth and hid his lord's money. And
- 2:17:36Speaker 8: after a long time cometh the lord of those servants,
- 2:17:39Speaker 8: and taketh reckoning with them. And he who did receive
- 2:17:43Speaker 8: the five talents, having come, brought other five talents, saying, Sir,
- 2:17:48Speaker 8: five talents, thou didst deliver to me?
- 2:17:51Speaker 3: Lo?
- 2:17:51Speaker 8: Other five talents did I gain besides them? And his
- 2:17:56Speaker 8: Lord said to him, well done, servant, good and faithful
- 2:18:00Speaker 8: over a few things, thou wast faithful over many things.
- 2:18:04Speaker 8: I will set thee enter into the joy of thy lord.
- 2:18:08Speaker 8: And he who also did receive the two talents having come, said, sir,
- 2:18:13Speaker 8: two talents thou didst deliver to me? Lo other two
- 2:18:17Speaker 8: talents I did gain besides them? His Lord said to him,
- 2:18:22Speaker 8: well done, servant, good and faithful over a few things.
- 2:18:26Speaker 8: Thou wast faithful over many things. I will set thee
- 2:18:30Speaker 8: enter into the joy of thy lord. And he also,
- 2:18:34Speaker 8: who hath received the one talent, having come, said sir,
- 2:18:38Speaker 8: I knew thee that thou art a hard man, reaping
- 2:18:42Speaker 8: where thou didst not sow, and gathering from whence thou
- 2:18:46Speaker 8: didst not scatter, And having been afraid, having gone away,
- 2:18:51Speaker 8: I hid thy talent in the earth. Lo thou hast
- 2:18:55Speaker 8: thine own, And his lord, answering, said to him, evil,
- 2:18:59Speaker 8: so servant and slothful, thou hadst known that I reap
- 2:19:03Speaker 8: where I did not sow, and I gather whence I
- 2:19:06Speaker 8: did not scatter. It behooved thee then to put my
- 2:19:10Speaker 8: money to the money lenders, And having come I had
- 2:19:13Speaker 8: received mine own with increase. Take therefore from him the talent,
- 2:19:18Speaker 8: and give to him having the ten talents. For to
- 2:19:21Speaker 8: everyone having shall be given, and he shall have over abundance.
- 2:19:26Speaker 8: And from him who is not having even that which
- 2:19:30Speaker 8: he hath shall be taken from him. And the unprofitable
- 2:19:33Speaker 8: servant cast you forth to the outer darkness. There shall
- 2:19:37Speaker 8: be the weeping and the gnashing of the teeth. And
- 2:19:41Speaker 8: whenever the Son of Man may come in his glory,
- 2:19:44Speaker 8: and all the holy messengers with him, then he shall
- 2:19:48Speaker 8: sit upon a throne of his glory, and gathered together
- 2:19:51Speaker 8: before him shall be all the nations, and he shall
- 2:19:55Speaker 8: separate them from one another, as the shepherd doth separate
- 2:20:00Speaker 8: the sheep from the goats, And he shall set the
- 2:20:03Speaker 8: sheep indeed on his right hand, and the goats on
- 2:20:07Speaker 8: the left. Then shall the King say to those on
- 2:20:10Speaker 8: his right hand, come ye, the blest of my father
- 2:20:14Speaker 8: inherit the rein that hath been prepared for you from
- 2:20:18Speaker 8: the foundation of the world. For I did hunger, and
- 2:20:21Speaker 8: ye gave me to eat. I did thirst, and ye
- 2:20:25Speaker 8: gave me to drink. I was a stranger, and ye
- 2:20:28Speaker 8: received me naked, and ye put around me. I was infirm,
- 2:20:33Speaker 8: and ye looked after me in prison I was, and
- 2:20:37Speaker 8: ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord,
- 2:20:43Speaker 8: when did we see thee hungering and we nourished, or thirsting,
- 2:20:47Speaker 8: and we gave to drink? And when did we see
- 2:20:50Speaker 8: thee a stranger? And we received or naked, and we
- 2:20:54Speaker 8: put around? And when did we see thee infirm or
- 2:20:58Speaker 8: in prison, and we came on to thee, and the King, answering,
- 2:21:02Speaker 8: shall say to them, verily, I say to you, inasmuch
- 2:21:06Speaker 8: as ye did it to one of these my brethren,
- 2:21:09Speaker 8: the least to me, ye did it? Then shall he
- 2:21:13Speaker 8: say also to those on the left hand, go ye
- 2:21:17Speaker 8: from me the curse to the fire. The age during
- 2:21:20Speaker 8: that hath been prepared for the devil and his messengers.
- 2:21:23Speaker 8: For I did hunger, and ye gave me not to eat.
- 2:21:27Speaker 8: I did thirst, and ye gave me not to drink.
- 2:21:30Speaker 8: A stranger I was, and ye did not receive me naked,
- 2:21:35Speaker 8: and ye put nought around me, infirm and in prison,
- 2:21:39Speaker 8: and ye did not look after me. Then shall they
- 2:21:43Speaker 8: answer they, also, saying, Lord, when did we see thee
- 2:21:47Speaker 8: hungering or thirsting, or a stranger, or naked, or infirm
- 2:21:51Speaker 8: or in prison, and we did not minister to thee?
- 2:21:55Speaker 8: Then shall he answer them, saying, verily, I say to you,
- 2:21:59Speaker 8: inasmuch is ye did it not to one of these
- 2:22:02Speaker 8: the least, ye did it not to me? And these
- 2:22:06Speaker 8: shall go away to punishment age during but the righteous
- 2:22:10Speaker 8: to life age. During end of chapter twenty five.

- 2:22:41Speaker 9: And it came to pass when Jesus finished all these words,
- 2:22:44Speaker 9: he said to his disciples, ye have known that after
- 2:22:48Speaker 9: two days the passovercometh, and the son of Man is
- 2:22:52Speaker 9: delivered up to be crucified. Then we're gathered together, the
- 2:22:56Speaker 9: chief priests and the scribes and the elders of the peace,
- 2:23:00Speaker 9: to the court of the chief priest, who was called Caiaphas.
- 2:23:05Speaker 9: And they consulted together that they might take Jesus by
- 2:23:09Speaker 9: guile and kill him. And they said not in the feast,
- 2:23:15Speaker 9: that there may not be a tumult among the people.
- 2:23:19Speaker 9: And Jesus, having been in Bethany, in the house of
- 2:23:22Speaker 9: Simon the Leper, there came to him a woman having
- 2:23:26Speaker 9: an alabaster box of ointment, very precious, and she poured
- 2:23:31Speaker 9: on his head as he is reclining at meat. And
- 2:23:35Speaker 9: having seen it, his disciples were much displeased, saying, to
- 2:23:40Speaker 9: what purpose is this waste? For this ointment? Could have
- 2:23:44Speaker 9: been sold for much and given to the poor. And Jesus,
- 2:23:48Speaker 9: having known, said to them, why do ye give trouble
- 2:23:52Speaker 9: to the woman for a good work she wrought for me?
- 2:23:56Speaker 9: For the poor always ye have with you, and me
- 2:24:00Speaker 9: ye have not always, For she having put this ointment
- 2:24:03Speaker 9: on my body for my burial, she did it verily.
- 2:24:07Speaker 9: I say to you, wherever this good news may be
- 2:24:11Speaker 9: proclaimed in the whole world, what this one did shall
- 2:24:15Speaker 9: also be spoken of, for a memorial of her. Then
- 2:24:19Speaker 9: one of the twelve, who is called Judas Iscariot, having
- 2:24:23Speaker 9: gone unto the chief priests, said what are ye willing
- 2:24:27Speaker 9: to give me? And I will deliver him up to you?
- 2:24:32Speaker 9: And they weighed out to him thirty silverlings. And from
- 2:24:35Speaker 9: that time he was seeking a convenient season to deliver
- 2:24:39Speaker 9: him up. And on the first day of the unlovind
- 2:24:43Speaker 9: food came the disciples near to Jesus, saying to him,
- 2:24:47Speaker 9: where wilt thou that we may prepare for thee to
- 2:24:50Speaker 9: eat the passover? And he said, go away to the
- 2:24:54Speaker 9: city unto such a one, and say to him, the
- 2:24:58Speaker 9: teacher saith, my time is nigh near thee. I keep
- 2:25:01Speaker 9: the passover with my disciples, and the disciples did as
- 2:25:05Speaker 9: Jesus appointed them, and prepared the passover. And evening having come,
- 2:25:11Speaker 9: he was reclining at meat with the twelve, And while
- 2:25:14Speaker 9: they are eating, he said, verily, I say to you
- 2:25:18Speaker 9: that one of you shall deliver me up. And being
- 2:25:21Speaker 9: grieved exceedingly, they began to say to him, each of them,
- 2:25:25Speaker 9: is it I, sir? And he, answering, said, he who
- 2:25:30Speaker 9: did dip with me the hand in the dish, he
- 2:25:33Speaker 9: will deliver me up. The son of Man doth indeed
- 2:25:36Speaker 9: go as it hath been written concerning him. But woe
- 2:25:40Speaker 9: to that man through whom the son of Man is
- 2:25:43Speaker 9: delivered up? Good it were for him if that man
- 2:25:46Speaker 9: had not been born. And Judas, he who delivered him up,
- 2:25:51Speaker 9: answering said, is it I, Rabbi? He saith to him?
- 2:25:56Speaker 9: Thou hast said. And while they are eating, Jesus, having
- 2:26:01Speaker 9: taken the bread and having blessed, did break and was
- 2:26:05Speaker 9: giving to the disciples, and said, take eat this is
- 2:26:09Speaker 9: my body. And having taken the cup, and having given thanks,
- 2:26:13Speaker 9: he gave to them, saying, drink ye of it all,
- 2:26:17Speaker 9: for this is my blood of the New Covenant that
- 2:26:20Speaker 9: for many is being poured out to remission of sins.
- 2:26:24Speaker 9: And I say to you that I may not drink
- 2:26:27Speaker 9: henceforth on this produce of the vine, till that day
- 2:26:31Speaker 9: when I may drink it. With you knew in the
- 2:26:33Speaker 9: rein of my father. And having sung a hymn, they
- 2:26:38Speaker 9: went forth to the mount of the Olives. Then saith
- 2:26:41Speaker 9: Jesus to them, all, ye shall be stumbled at me
- 2:26:45Speaker 9: this night, for it hath been written. I will smite
- 2:26:50Speaker 9: the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be
- 2:26:53Speaker 9: scattered abroad. But after my having risen, I will go
- 2:26:58Speaker 9: before you to Galilee. And Peter answering, said to him,
- 2:27:04Speaker 9: even if all shall be stumbled at THEE, I will
- 2:27:07Speaker 9: never be stumbled. Jesus said to him. Verily, I say
- 2:27:12Speaker 9: to THEE that this night before caught crowing thrice, thou
- 2:27:16Speaker 9: wilt deny me. Peter saith to him, even if it
- 2:27:21Speaker 9: may be necessary for me to die with THEE, I
- 2:27:23Speaker 9: will not deny THEE. In like manner, also set all
- 2:27:28Speaker 9: the disciples. Then come with them, doth Jesus to a
- 2:27:33Speaker 9: place called Gethsemane. And he saith to the disciples, sit
- 2:27:38Speaker 9: ye here till having gone away, I shall pray yonder
- 2:27:42Speaker 9: and having taken Peter and the two sons of Zebedee,
- 2:27:46Speaker 9: he began to be sorrowful and to be very heavy.
- 2:27:50Speaker 9: Then saith he to them, exceedingly sorrowful is my soul
- 2:27:55Speaker 9: unto death. Abide ye hear and watch with me. And
- 2:28:00Speaker 9: having gone forward a little, he fell on his face,
- 2:28:03Speaker 9: praying and saying, my father, if it be possible, let
- 2:28:08Speaker 9: this cup pass from me, nevertheless, not as I will,
- 2:28:13Speaker 9: but as thou. And he cometh unto the disciples and
- 2:28:17Speaker 9: findeth them sleeping, And he saith to Peter. So ye
- 2:28:22Speaker 9: were not able one hour to watch with me, watch
- 2:28:26Speaker 9: and pray that ye may not enter into temptation. The
- 2:28:30Speaker 9: spirit indeed is forward, but the flesh weak again. A
- 2:28:34Speaker 9: second time, having gone away, he prayed, saying, my Father,
- 2:28:39Speaker 9: if this cup cannot pass away from me, except I
- 2:28:42Speaker 9: drink it, thy will be done. And having come, he
- 2:28:46Speaker 9: findeth them again sleeping, for their eyes were heavy. And
- 2:28:50Speaker 9: having left them, having gone away again, he prayed a
- 2:28:53Speaker 9: third time, saying the same word. Then cometh he unto
- 2:28:58Speaker 9: his disciples, and saith to them. Sleep on henceforth and
- 2:29:02Speaker 9: rest lo the hour hath come nigh, And the son
- 2:29:05Speaker 9: of Man is delivered up to the hands of sinners. Rise,
- 2:29:09Speaker 9: let us go. Lo, he hath come nigh, who is
- 2:29:12Speaker 9: delivering me up? And while he is yet speaking low Judas,
- 2:29:17Speaker 9: one of the twelve, did come, and with him a
- 2:29:20Speaker 9: great multitude with swords and sticks, from the chief priests
- 2:29:23Speaker 9: and elders of the people. And he who did deliver
- 2:29:27Speaker 9: him up, did give them a sign saying, whomsoever I
- 2:29:30Speaker 9: will kiss it is. He lay hold on him, And immediately,
- 2:29:35Speaker 9: having come to Jesus, he said, Hail Rabbi, and kissed him,
- 2:29:39Speaker 9: And Jesus said to him, Comrade, for what art thou present? Then,
- 2:29:44Speaker 9: having come near, they laid hands on Jesus and took
- 2:29:47Speaker 9: hold on him. And lo, one of those with Jesus,
- 2:29:51Speaker 9: having stretched forth the hand, drew his sword, and having
- 2:29:56Speaker 9: struck the servant of the chief priest, he took off
- 2:29:59Speaker 9: his ear. Then saith Jesus to him, turn back thy
- 2:30:03Speaker 9: sword to its place, for all who did take the
- 2:30:06Speaker 9: sword by the sword shall perish. Dost thou think that
- 2:30:10Speaker 9: I am not able to now call upon my father,
- 2:30:13Speaker 9: and he will place beside me more than twelve legions
- 2:30:16Speaker 9: of messengers. How then, may the writings be fulfilled that
- 2:30:21Speaker 9: thus it behooveth to happen in that hour, said Jesus
- 2:30:26Speaker 9: to the multitudes, as against a robber, Ye did come
- 2:30:30Speaker 9: forth with swords and sticks to take me daily with you.
- 2:30:34Speaker 9: I was sitting teaching in the temple, and ye did
- 2:30:37Speaker 9: not lay hold on me. But all this hath come
- 2:30:40Speaker 9: to pass, that the writings of the prophets may be fulfilled.
- 2:30:44Speaker 9: Then all the disciples, having left him, fled, and those
- 2:30:48Speaker 9: laying hold on Jesus led him away unto Caiaphas, the
- 2:30:52Speaker 9: chief priest, where the scribes and the elders were gathered together,
- 2:30:56Speaker 9: And Peter was following him afar off unto the court
- 2:31:00Speaker 9: of the chief Priest, And having gone in within, he
- 2:31:04Speaker 9: was sitting with the officers to see the end. And
- 2:31:07Speaker 9: the chief priests and the elders and all the counsel
- 2:31:10Speaker 9: were seeking false witness against Jesus, that they might put
- 2:31:14Speaker 9: him to death, and they did not find. And many
- 2:31:17Speaker 9: false witnesses having come near, they did not find. And
- 2:31:22Speaker 9: at last two false witnesses, having come near, said this.
- 2:31:26Speaker 9: One said, I am able to throw down the sanctuary
- 2:31:30Speaker 9: of God, and after three days to build it. And
- 2:31:34Speaker 9: the chief priest, having stood up, said to him nothing.
- 2:31:38Speaker 9: Thou didst answer, what do these witness against Thee? And
- 2:31:42Speaker 9: Jesus was silent, and the chief priest, answering, said to him,
- 2:31:46Speaker 9: I adjure THEE by the Living God, that thou mayest
- 2:31:50Speaker 9: say to us, if thou art the Christ, the son
- 2:31:53Speaker 9: of God. Jesus saith to him, thou hast said, nevertheless,
- 2:31:58Speaker 9: I say to you, hereafter ye shall see the son
- 2:32:01Speaker 9: of Man sitting on the right hand of the power,
- 2:32:04Speaker 9: and coming upon the clouds of the heaven. Then the
- 2:32:08Speaker 9: chief priest rent his garments, saying, he hath spoken evil,
- 2:32:13Speaker 9: What need have we yet of witnesses? Lo now ye
- 2:32:18Speaker 9: heard his evil speaking? What think ye? And they answering
- 2:32:22Speaker 9: said he is worthy of death? Then did they spit
- 2:32:27Speaker 9: in his face and buffet him, and others did slap, saying,
- 2:32:31Speaker 9: declare to us, o Christ, who he is that struck Thee?
- 2:32:35Speaker 9: And Peter without was sitting in the court, and there
- 2:32:39Speaker 9: came near to him a certain maid, saying, and thou
- 2:32:42Speaker 9: wast with Jesus of Galilee. And he denied before all, saying,
- 2:32:46Speaker 9: I have not known what thou sayest. And he, having
- 2:32:50Speaker 9: gone forth to the porch, another female saw him and
- 2:32:53Speaker 9: saith to those there, and this one was with Jesus
- 2:32:56Speaker 9: of Nazareth, and again did he deny with an oath
- 2:33:00Speaker 9: I have not known the man. And after a little
- 2:33:04Speaker 9: those standing near, having come, said to Peter, truly thou
- 2:33:07Speaker 9: also art of them, for even thy speech doth make
- 2:33:11Speaker 9: thee manifest. Then began he to anathematize and to swear
- 2:33:15Speaker 9: I have not known the man. And immediately did a
- 2:33:19Speaker 9: cock crow, and Peter remembered the saying of Jesus, he
- 2:33:23Speaker 9: having said to him before cock crowing thrice, thou wilt
- 2:33:27Speaker 9: deny me, And having gone without, he did weep bitterly.

- 2:33:58Speaker 5: by Aiken Matthew Young's literal translation, Chapter twenty seven, and
- 2:34:09Speaker 5: mourning having come, all the chief priests and the elders
- 2:34:14Speaker 5: of the people took counsel against Jesus so as to
- 2:34:18Speaker 5: put him to death, And having bound him, they did
- 2:34:22Speaker 5: lead away and delivered him up to punch his pilot.
- 2:34:26Speaker 5: The governor then Judas he who delivered him up, having
- 2:34:32Speaker 5: seen that he was condemned, having repented, brought back the
- 2:34:37Speaker 5: thirty silverlings to the chief priests and to the elders, saying,
- 2:34:42Speaker 5: I did sin, having delivered up innocent blood. And they said,
- 2:34:48Speaker 5: what to us thou shalt see? And having cast down
- 2:34:53Speaker 5: the silverlings in the sanctuary, he departed, and having gone away,
- 2:34:59Speaker 5: he did strangle himself. And the chief priests, having taken
- 2:35:04Speaker 5: the silverling, said it is not lawful to put them
- 2:35:08Speaker 5: to the treasury, seeing it is the price of blood.
- 2:35:12Speaker 5: And having taken counsel, they bought with them the field
- 2:35:17Speaker 5: of the Potter for the burial of strangers. Therefore was
- 2:35:22Speaker 5: that field called field of blood. Unto this day then
- 2:35:28Speaker 5: was fulfilled that spoken through Jeremiah the prophet, saying, and
- 2:35:32Speaker 5: I took the thirty silverlings the price of him who
- 2:35:36Speaker 5: hath been prist, whom they of the sons of Israel
- 2:35:40Speaker 5: did price, and gave them for the field of the potter,
- 2:35:45Speaker 5: as the Lord did appoint to me. And Jesus stood
- 2:35:49Speaker 5: before the governor, and the governor did question him, saying,
- 2:35:54Speaker 5: art thou the king of the Jews. And Jesus said
- 2:35:58Speaker 5: to him, thou say and in his being accused by
- 2:36:03Speaker 5: the chief priests and the elders, he did not answer anything. Then,
- 2:36:09Speaker 5: said Pilot to him, dost thou not hear how many
- 2:36:13Speaker 5: things they witness against thee And he did not answer him,
- 2:36:18Speaker 5: not even to one word, so that the governor did
- 2:36:22Speaker 5: wonder greatly. And at the feast. The governor had been
- 2:36:27Speaker 5: accustomed to release one to the multitude a prisoner whom
- 2:36:32Speaker 5: they willed, and they had then a noted prisoner called Barabbas.
- 2:36:38Speaker 5: They therefore, having been gathered together, Pilot said to them,
- 2:36:43Speaker 5: whom will ye I shall release to you Barabbas or Jesus,
- 2:36:47Speaker 5: who was called Christ. For he had known that because
- 2:36:51Speaker 5: of envy, they had delivered him up. And as he
- 2:36:56Speaker 5: is sitting on the tribunal, his wife sent unto him,
- 2:36:59Speaker 5: saying nothing to thee and to that righteous one, for
- 2:37:04Speaker 5: many things did I suffer to day in a dream
- 2:37:08Speaker 5: because of him. And the chief priests and the elders
- 2:37:12Speaker 5: did persuade the multitudes that they might ask for themselves
- 2:37:16Speaker 5: Barabbas and might destroy Jesus. And the Governor, answering, said
- 2:37:22Speaker 5: to them, which of the too will ye that I
- 2:37:25Speaker 5: shall release to you? And they said Barabas. Pilot says
- 2:37:31Speaker 5: to them, what then shall I do with Jesus, who
- 2:37:35Speaker 5: is called Christ? They all say to him, let be crucified.
- 2:37:41Speaker 5: And the governor said, why what evil did he? And
- 2:37:46Speaker 5: they were crying out the more, saying let be crucified.
- 2:37:51Speaker 5: And Pilot, having seen that it profiteth nothing, but rather
- 2:37:56Speaker 5: a tumult is made, having taken water, he did he'd
- 2:38:00Speaker 5: washed the hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent
- 2:38:05Speaker 5: from the blood of this righteous one. Ye ye shall see.
- 2:38:10Speaker 5: And all the people, answering, said, his blood is upon
- 2:38:15Speaker 5: us and upon our children. Then did he release to
- 2:38:20Speaker 5: them Barabbus, And having scourged Jesus, he delivered him up
- 2:38:25Speaker 5: that he may be crucified. Then the soldiers of the Governor,
- 2:38:30Speaker 5: having taken Jesus to the pretorium, did gather to him
- 2:38:34Speaker 5: all the band, and having unclothed him, they put around
- 2:38:39Speaker 5: him a crimson cloak, and having platted him a crown
- 2:38:43Speaker 5: out of thorns, they put it on his head, and
- 2:38:47Speaker 5: a reed in his right hand. And having kneeled before him,
- 2:38:51Speaker 5: they were mocking him, saying, hail the King of the Jews.
- 2:38:57Speaker 5: And having spit on him, they took the reed and
- 2:39:00Speaker 5: were smiting on his head. And when they had mocked him,
- 2:39:05Speaker 5: they took off from him the cloak and put on
- 2:39:08Speaker 5: him his own garments, and led him away to crucify him.
- 2:39:14Speaker 5: And coming forth they found a man, a Sirenian by
- 2:39:19Speaker 5: name Simon him. They impressed that he might bear his cross,
- 2:39:24Speaker 5: And having come to a place called Golgotha, that is
- 2:39:28Speaker 5: called place of a skull, they gave him to drink
- 2:39:32Speaker 5: vinegar mixed with gall, and having tasted, he would not drink.
- 2:39:38Speaker 5: And having crucified him, they divided his garments, casting a
- 2:39:43Speaker 5: lot that it might be fulfilled that was spoken by
- 2:39:47Speaker 5: the prophet. They divided my garments to themselves, and over
- 2:39:52Speaker 5: my vesture they cast a lot. And sitting down, they
- 2:39:57Speaker 5: were watching him there, and they put up over his
- 2:40:01Speaker 5: head his accusation written, this is Jesus, the King of
- 2:40:07Speaker 5: the Jews. Then crucified with him are two robbers, one
- 2:40:13Speaker 5: on the right hand and one on the left. And
- 2:40:16Speaker 5: those passing by were speaking evil of him, wagging their
- 2:40:20Speaker 5: heads and saying, thou that art throwing down the sanctuary
- 2:40:25Speaker 5: and in three days building it, Save thyself, if son,
- 2:40:30Speaker 5: thou art of God, come down from the cross and
- 2:40:34Speaker 5: in like manner. Also the chief priests, mocking with the
- 2:40:38Speaker 5: scribes and elder, said others, he saved himself, he is
- 2:40:44Speaker 5: not able to save. If he be King of Israel.
- 2:40:48Speaker 5: Let him come down now from the cross, and we
- 2:40:52Speaker 5: will believe him. He hath trusted on God. Let him
- 2:40:56Speaker 5: now deliver him if he wish him, because as he said,
- 2:41:01Speaker 5: Son of God, I am with the same. Also the
- 2:41:06Speaker 5: robbers who were crucified with him were reproaching him, And
- 2:41:11Speaker 5: from the sixth hour darkness came over all the land
- 2:41:16Speaker 5: unto the ninth hour. And about the ninth hour, Jesus
- 2:41:20Speaker 5: cried out with a great voice, saying, Eli Eli Lama Sabachthanai,
- 2:41:27Speaker 5: that is my God, My God, Why didst thou forsake me?
- 2:41:34Speaker 5: And certain of those standing there, having heard, said Elijah,
- 2:41:39Speaker 5: he doth call. And immediately one of them, having run,
- 2:41:44Speaker 5: and having taken a sponge, having filled it with vinegar,
- 2:41:48Speaker 5: and having put it on a reed, was giving him
- 2:41:51Speaker 5: to drink. But the rest said, let alone, let us
- 2:41:55Speaker 5: see if Elijah doth come about to save him. And Jesus,
- 2:42:01Speaker 5: having again cried with a great voice, yielded the spirit
- 2:42:07Speaker 5: and lo the veil of the sanctuary was rent in
- 2:42:11Speaker 5: two from top on to bottom, and the earth did quake,
- 2:42:15Speaker 5: and the rocks were rent, and the tombs were opened,
- 2:42:20Speaker 5: and many bodies of the saints who have fallen asleep arose,
- 2:42:25Speaker 5: and having come forth out of the tombs after his rising,
- 2:42:29Speaker 5: they went into the Holy city and appeared to many.
- 2:42:35Speaker 5: And the Centurion and those with him watching Jesus, having
- 2:42:39Speaker 5: seen the earthquake and the things that were done, were
- 2:42:43Speaker 5: exceedingly afraid, saying truly this was God's son. And there
- 2:42:50Speaker 5: were there many women beholding from Afar, who did follow
- 2:42:54Speaker 5: Jesus from Galilee, ministering to him, among whom was Mary
- 2:42:59Speaker 5: the man Magdalen, and Mary the mother of James and
- 2:43:02Speaker 5: of Joseph, and the mother of the sons of Zebede.
- 2:43:07Speaker 5: And evening having come, there came a rich man from
- 2:43:11Speaker 5: Arimathea named Joseph, who also himself was discipled to Jesus. He,
- 2:43:18Speaker 5: having gone near to Pilot, asked for himself the body
- 2:43:22Speaker 5: of Jesus. Then Pilot commanded the body to be given back,
- 2:43:28Speaker 5: And having taken the body, Joseph wrapped it in clean
- 2:43:32Speaker 5: linen and laid it in his new tomb that he
- 2:43:36Speaker 5: hewed in the rock, and having rolled a great stone
- 2:43:39Speaker 5: to the door of the tomb, he went away. And
- 2:43:44Speaker 5: there were there Mary the Magdalen, and the other Mary
- 2:43:48Speaker 5: sitting over against the sepulcher. And on the morrow, that is,
- 2:43:53Speaker 5: after the preparation, were gathered together the chief priests and
- 2:43:57Speaker 5: the pharisees unto Pilot, saying, Sir, we have remembered that
- 2:44:03Speaker 5: that deceiver said, while yet living, after three days, I
- 2:44:07Speaker 5: do rise, command then the sepulcher to be made secure
- 2:44:12Speaker 5: till the third day, lest his disciples, having come by night,
- 2:44:17Speaker 5: may steal him away, and may say to the people
- 2:44:20Speaker 5: he rose from the dead, and the last deceit shall
- 2:44:24Speaker 5: be worse than the first. And Pilot said to them,
- 2:44:29Speaker 5: ye have a watch, go away, make secure, as ye
- 2:44:33Speaker 5: have known. And they, having gone, did make the sepulcher secure,
- 2:44:39Speaker 5: having sealed the stone together with the watch. End of

- 2:45:11Speaker 2: literal translation Chapter twenty eight and on the eve of
- 2:45:17Speaker 2: the Sabbaths. At the dawn, toward the first of the Sabbaths,
- 2:45:22Speaker 2: came Mary the Magdalene and the other Mary to see
- 2:45:26Speaker 2: the sepulcher. And lo, there was a great earthquake, for
- 2:45:31Speaker 2: a messenger of the Lord, having come down out of heaven.
- 2:45:35Speaker 2: Having come, did roll away the stone from the door,
- 2:45:39Speaker 2: and was sitting upon it. And his countenance was as lightning,
- 2:45:44Speaker 2: and his clothing white as snow. And from the fear
- 2:45:49Speaker 2: of him did the keepers shake, and they became as
- 2:45:53Speaker 2: dead men. And the messenger, answering, said to the women,
- 2:46:00Speaker 2: fear not ye, for I have known that Jesus, who
- 2:46:04Speaker 2: hath been crucified. Ye seek. He is not here, for
- 2:46:08Speaker 2: he rose, as he said, Come see the place where
- 2:46:11Speaker 2: the Lord was lying. And having gone quickly, say ye
- 2:46:16Speaker 2: to his disciples that he rose from the dead. And lo,
- 2:46:21Speaker 2: he doth go before you to Galilee. There ye shall
- 2:46:25Speaker 2: see him, lo I have told you. And having gone
