- 0:06Speaker 1: Hey, welcome back to the North Florida sports network.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Happy Friday, it's December already.
- 0:13Speaker 1: It's the first of December 2023.
- 0:15Speaker 1: And we're getting ready for the battle in Charlotte, or the Charlotte.
- 0:22Speaker 1: It's the ACC championship.
- 0:24Speaker 1: It's tomorrow night.
- 0:26Speaker 1: It's Louisville, it's Florida State.
- 0:29Speaker 1: We got big time Noel on the line, cool, cool Cool.
- 0:35Speaker 1: We got Jimmy Reno in studio and we're getting ready.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Man, we're here to talk about the game.
- 0:43Speaker 1: What's going on?
- 0:45Speaker 1: First and foremost, I know that you probably heard some stuff about Tate Tate Rodamaker being in the injury protocol or whatever.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Concussion protocol.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Concussion protocol, which is seems about right.
- 0:58Speaker 3: But game time decision.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Game time decision OK.
- 1:02Speaker 2: I think it.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, if he passes the final couple of tests here today and tomorrow he'll play Wow I.
- 1:10Speaker 2: You know, I think he's been moving about fine all week.
- 1:15Speaker 2: They just, you know, they're limited by what he can do in practice in terms of like the 11 on 11 stuff.
- 1:20Speaker 2: I don't think they let him do that.
- 1:23Speaker 1: It's becoming more and more like a movie script man, you know like the main star is going to be there for the from a movie we've seen before.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:34Speaker 3: Exactly 10 years ago.
- 1:35Speaker 3: Well, I hope so.
- 1:37Speaker 3: Wait, no, nine years ago.
- 1:39Speaker 3: Yeah, we did a 2014, right.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Yeah, that was right.
- 1:42Speaker 1: The same year that the first year of the playoff.
- 1:47Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, and you really want to see right.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Yeah, tate Rodamaker.
- 1:54Speaker 3: So if he?
- 1:54Speaker 1: passes.
- 1:55Speaker 1: If he passes the concussion Test, he will, he'll get the start.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Brock Glenn, though, got some reps this week, which is, I think, a good good thing, because you're one play away from having to play, and it's something he hasn't had the chance to do is get many live reps.
- 2:10Speaker 1: So, it could be a blessing in the skies.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Good, I mean it's obviously.
- 2:14Speaker 2: I mean it's good for him, you know, good for his development.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:19Speaker 2: You know, but it's also just by way of having to keep Tate out.
- 2:25Speaker 2: I think people read into it a little bit more.
- 2:28Speaker 2: But of course you're going to still do your 11 on 11 drills, but you got to have a QB.
- 2:35Speaker 2: So there you go, Somebody's got to do it.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know, if you know, like if we see Brock Glenn, I think it will be one of two reasons.
- 2:48Speaker 2: It'll be Tate, you know injury or that, should the concussion symptoms you know, flare back up or whatever, or he's just not getting it done.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think there's going to be any specific packages for Brock Lynn coming in there.
- 3:03Speaker 2: It could be wrong, but we'll see.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, big time.
- 3:08Speaker 1: No, you know, we haven't talked to you in a while.
- 3:10Speaker 1: 12 and O, though.
- 3:11Speaker 3: It was like forever, I know.
- 3:14Speaker 1: I want to get your just to your take being.
- 3:17Speaker 1: You know this is the fourth time in seminal history that the team has gone 12 and O you are.
- 3:23Speaker 1: You did predict this before the season, so congratulations.
- 3:27Speaker 3: Yeah, that was an easy one.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:29Speaker 3: This is what I guess tricky.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Yeah, it was a tough ride.
- 3:32Speaker 1: I predicted 11 and one.
- 3:34Speaker 1: The one lost me and at Clemson See all how close that game was.
- 3:38Speaker 1: People sleep on oh yeah, but it was.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I think it was a great win.
- 3:42Speaker 1: What?
- 3:42Speaker 3: did.
- 3:42Speaker 2: I say Underestimating how big of a win they are.
- 3:45Speaker 2: That was a really great win.
- 3:46Speaker 3: It really was.
- 3:47Speaker 3: When they look back, yeah, jordan Travis broke the school touchdown record with 82 on that pass in overtime.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Like that's just what makes it so special too.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Yeah, it was good to finish off the regular season for him, but the stone, the Brock has been made 13 for 13.
- 4:04Speaker 1: It's hard not to get fired up just thinking about the game Saturday and what it means to this team, I mean as a fan, I have not been this fired up for a game since I mean 20 years, 2014,.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Right, but the playoffs this is just a resilient team.
- 4:24Speaker 1: I think all three previous teams that went 12 and over more dominant, more, I would say just more expected to win.
- 4:33Speaker 3: I want to say 2014 was the, was that dominant?
- 4:36Speaker 3: But yeah, yeah, those, those were going down to a wire every, every, every week, right, and James was just doing his magic, yeah.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Yeah, the game.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Yeah, God, North Alabama, I'll tell you what it's.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Still, you got to win out, man, or that's going to just haunt haunt this season forever.
- 4:59Speaker 2: You know this.
- 5:01Speaker 2: One last game.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Well, you got one more game in your end, winning your end.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Regardless of what anybody says, there are a lot of we were worried.
- 5:09Speaker 3: That's a fact.
- 5:11Speaker 1: What do you want to see out of Tate that you didn't see against Florida?
- 5:18Speaker 3: Yeah, just a little more confidence, you know.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Quicker decision Maybe, maybe I agree, you know especially when it comes to taking it down and running it.
- 5:27Speaker 1: I think he has legs that he can use.
- 5:30Speaker 1: He needs to be decisive.
- 5:32Speaker 3: To go into the swamp and do what he did was such a big time performance in way.
- 5:37Speaker 3: I know his numbers aren't going to say that, but like just to go down there and win, you know, to save the undefeated season, to do it for Jordan, like that was such a big time win, it really was.
- 5:49Speaker 3: That is the loudest place we play.
- 5:51Speaker 3: You know it's a hard place to play.
- 5:53Speaker 3: You know it was.
- 5:54Speaker 3: It was just it was beautiful, both those wins.
- 5:57Speaker 1: I would say Florida and Clemson, those places are probably easily, both those environments, both those stadiums are in the top five.
- 6:05Speaker 3: I honestly think Gainesville gets louder than uh.
- 6:07Speaker 3: I guess personally.
- 6:08Speaker 3: I've been to both or two times.
- 6:10Speaker 3: They're both right at the top.
- 6:11Speaker 3: I think Gainesville gets louder.
- 6:12Speaker 1: I know I haven't been to bad and Rouge yet I need.
- 6:14Speaker 1: I wish there was a home and home, but um, you got to put Death Valley in the swamp right up there.
- 6:22Speaker 3: Top five at toughest places to play and you went in there in the same season and and won in both places.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Florida State only has done that in special years, and this year is special, regardless of what happens.
- 6:35Speaker 1: But uh, louisville is going to be a tough opponent.
- 6:39Speaker 1: You don't have you.
- 6:42Speaker 1: What do you think?
- 6:43Speaker 1: Who do you think needs to step up on the defensive side of the ball?
- 6:50Speaker 3: I mean step up, I don't know.
- 6:52Speaker 3: I mean, they've been doing pretty amazing.
- 6:54Speaker 1: It's harder than to do much better.
- 6:56Speaker 3: Yeah, and versus just elevated to the next level.
- 7:00Speaker 3: I mean All these NFL guys.
- 7:03Speaker 3: You know we have so many guys leaving, you know, maybe after Saturday, maybe after tomorrow, so it's like they're gonna leave it all out there.
- 7:10Speaker 3: Just get the NFL guys involved make some money.
- 7:12Speaker 3: That's right.
- 7:13Speaker 3: She got Jamie what I'd hate to be the Louisville defensive coordinator right now.
- 7:20Speaker 3: It's like you know, really know what the plan for.
- 7:22Speaker 1: I wouldn't be opposed to like seeing them both, both quarterbacks, because I like you got to, I like the way that Brock Is decisive with the option reeds yeah he just seems to move a little quicker.
- 7:36Speaker 2: The only thing is just so inexperienced.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Yeah, you figure there's gonna be growing pains and you hate it for that to happen.
- 7:44Speaker 2: Saturday yeah.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Biggest game.
- 7:46Speaker 2: I think honestly, man, it's gonna come down to tape.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Has to win the game for you.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Yeah, he can't just be a manager and expect it to be able to lean on the running game like, yeah, perfect world, you'd be able to just have Benson do what he does.
- 8:01Speaker 2: But that's the strength of Louisville's team, is the run defense.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 8:05Speaker 2: So there's a way to attack Louisville it's throwing the football.
- 8:09Speaker 2: He's gonna need to do it yeah.
- 8:14Speaker 3: When in your area if they kick the key on County I, I'm calling upon return out of him for a touchdown.
- 8:21Speaker 3: He's so close every week and I think this is this is the night.
- 8:26Speaker 1: That's the one thing you know, that.
- 8:29Speaker 3: He didn't have he on last year.
- 8:31Speaker 1: He didn't have Bell Last year when he went in there and won beat.
- 8:35Speaker 1: I know Louisville's different team.
- 8:36Speaker 1: New coaching staff yeah.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:40Speaker 1: But they still got Brownlee over there.
- 8:41Speaker 2: They do.
- 8:42Speaker 2: They use him very sparingly.
- 8:43Speaker 2: That's smart.
- 8:45Speaker 2: They've got some guys they brought in that.
- 8:47Speaker 3: Louisville team is scrappy.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Oh, I know the game.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Kentucky.
- 8:51Speaker 3: They lost from a definitely got some fighting.
- 8:53Speaker 1: You're gonna get their best shot.
- 8:54Speaker 1: They're gonna get there.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely, Absolutely they, they, they played their best game of this season after their Previous loss to Pitt they.
- 9:05Speaker 1: The next week they played our game and we're very probably their best performance of the year.
- 9:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Yeah, that that Pitt game was kind of just a Nightmare game for them.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Right, the turnovers that they had were, you know, bouncing off of receivers hands right into a DB.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like that.
- 9:24Speaker 2: They got beat by Kentucky.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Kentucky just just punched them in the mouth and straight up beat them.
- 9:31Speaker 2: That's the first time they've been Kind of just beating at their own game this season.
- 9:36Speaker 2: That's what Florida stays gonna have to do.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Okay.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Yeah, it's gonna sound cliche, but all we gotta do is get our playmakers the ball right.
- 9:45Speaker 3: Okay, get it to Wilson, get at the Keon County, get at the Benson's.
- 9:50Speaker 3: Let them do their job.
- 9:51Speaker 3: They're so good, they're NFL guys don't turn over you're gonna be making a difference on Sunday, not just playing like those guys are.
- 9:58Speaker 3: First and second rounders Cannot turn it over.
- 10:01Speaker 3: Tate has got to take care of that's been the biggest thing All years just this team does protects the ball.
- 10:08Speaker 1: And Good job, creating turnovers they do and we'll find out and we'll see.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Whoever wins the turn of a battle is gonna win the game and you can see that both losses For Louisville this year.
- 10:21Speaker 1: The quarterback is turning the ball over.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Yeah, so, and you know, you know he has a tendency to kind of yeah, you know it's two to one.
- 10:30Speaker 2: You know 22 touchdowns, 11 picks.
- 10:32Speaker 2: That's a little high for the picks, but you can also really start, start firing off, you know, 10, 15 completions at a time and you can be really accurate.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Louisville's ground game is what scares me.
- 10:44Speaker 1: I, if I'm floor state, floor states got the 10th ranked past defense in the country.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Yeah, if I was gonna 50th and I was gonna pick somebody on the defense or a group on the defense that needs to really play their best game.
- 10:57Speaker 2: It's gonna be linebackers.
- 10:58Speaker 2: Yeah, dj, all of them as a.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Group dropping the hammer man.
- 11:03Speaker 1: We need to step up.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Stop that run.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Of course force him to have to throw it.
- 11:09Speaker 1: That way you can get guys like verse Time up those blitzes.
- 11:14Speaker 2: It's a pressure.
- 11:15Speaker 2: We'll see man.
- 11:16Speaker 1: We'll see if the Like you said, this is gonna be, since the opening game, maybe the best quarterback FSU's face all year, besides the what I think should be the Heisman winner.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean you played the Heisman winner week one.
- 11:29Speaker 3: I'm trying to think going to think they'll give it to him with.
- 11:32Speaker 1: I don't know Well, yeah, they should.
- 11:37Speaker 3: You saw.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Teebo is one of three Marjaxon.
- 11:45Speaker 2: He didn't put up 600 yards of total offense, though.
- 11:48Speaker 2: Right by himself, right that's.
- 11:50Speaker 2: It's the best player.
- 11:51Speaker 1: It's not supposed to be the best team, it's not supposed to matter that.
- 11:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I mean, don't get me wrong, Penix and bow Nick's are both great players, but who's who's had a better season?
- 12:08Speaker 1: I mean Individually out of those three, it's gotta be Daniels.
- 12:12Speaker 3: Nick's has stats.
- 12:13Speaker 1: I mean Jordan Travis, honestly, but that one stat where all his passes are pretty much just like screen passes and dump passes.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Bow Nick's like what is it?
- 12:22Speaker 1: Yeah, all this pet like yeah.
- 12:24Speaker 3: Daniels.
- 12:25Speaker 1: They run a very does everything throws the ball down the field passing off runs the ball.
- 12:31Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the difference.
- 12:32Speaker 2: He's the best player.
- 12:33Speaker 1: He has explosive like 85 yard to the house, kind of Breakaway and we locked him down, that's right, that's right.
- 12:41Speaker 1: All right, I Know it's.
- 12:43Speaker 1: I know Jimmy's nervous about this game, but that's, that's Jimmy Reno for you.
- 12:46Speaker 1: He's nervous about everything.
- 12:47Speaker 3: I'm nervous, I know I know what do you got?
- 12:49Speaker 1: you got a score for me.
- 12:51Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean it's gonna be a little bit more low scoring this time.
- 12:54Speaker 3: I'm gonna say about 2713, all right for the state.
- 13:00Speaker 1: All right, man, that's great man.
- 13:03Speaker 1: It feels good.
- 13:04Speaker 1: We'll see what will happen.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Special teams needs to be ready.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Yeah that's.
- 13:09Speaker 1: That's gonna be big for the states had really.
- 13:13Speaker 3: We need to punt play field position.
- 13:14Speaker 3: I think you you know we don't need to see any of that going for it, or 30, or right, right, and I don't think 21, 16 fighting Jack Harlow's.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Oh no, oh no, stop it.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Get out of here, jimmy.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Nobody asks you.
- 13:31Speaker 3: What's the line at right now?
- 13:32Speaker 1: I know it's been like one and a half.
- 13:33Speaker 3: I don't know what you look at yeah, I'll take that all day.
- 13:36Speaker 1: I know house on it, right?
- 13:38Speaker 1: Oh yeah, this team has been resilient.
- 13:41Speaker 1: I don't know how it's gonna happen, yeah, but I well.
- 13:45Speaker 1: I can see why you're nervous, Jimmy, but I'll say is that this?
- 13:49Speaker 1: Team fights man they're gonna figure out, the coaching staff fights.
- 13:52Speaker 3: Full, not to be nervous yeah they're.
- 13:55Speaker 1: I think I like the way this team's battle back every, every game.
- 13:59Speaker 1: This is gonna be their biggest challenge.
- 14:00Speaker 1: I don't care anybody says you're going in, that's because of the coaching staff on the Well and the pressure and it's a backup quarterback coach.
- 14:08Speaker 1: They got a good coaching staff.
- 14:09Speaker 3: If we had Jordan Travis, I wouldn't be that nervous at all.
- 14:12Speaker 3: To be honest with you.
- 14:12Speaker 1: I wouldn't be surprised.
- 14:13Speaker 1: I would be a little nervous, but no, uh, this Braum guy has Louisville right there every year for moving forward.
- 14:22Speaker 1: I think they hired the right guy.
- 14:24Speaker 1: He's gonna get Louisville about as high as they can get.
- 14:29Speaker 1: We'll see.
- 14:36Speaker 2: They got to feel so glad that that's Satterfield just yeah just decided to leave man man.
- 14:42Speaker 1: It.
- 14:42Speaker 2: They walked right in into him, you know some of that Cincinnati winner Is that it yeah, yeah, no much difference in Louis we got some other big games.
- 14:50Speaker 1: We got one tonight where you know the winner's probably in.
- 14:54Speaker 3: Oregon's got that, my two scores.
- 14:56Speaker 1: I know it's nine and a half the spread that was oh is that right for Oregon?
- 15:01Speaker 3: Yeah, that's about exactly what I would have said.
- 15:04Speaker 2: Yeah, but yeah, I'm gonna say it, their receiver for Washington, probably the most underrated player in the country right Right guys, ridiculous.
- 15:13Speaker 2: I Don't know how to pronounce his last name.
- 15:16Speaker 2: His first name is Rome.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Okay, rome.
- 15:20Speaker 3: Yeah, he is dude.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Yeah Well, I get it.
- 15:25Speaker 2: The West, that's a great, I was gonna get them but, but what?
- 15:29Speaker 1: before we let's get there and say but do you agree that the winner of this pack 12 game should be in, even if it's Oregon?
- 15:38Speaker 1: Should they be in over Texas or over a Alabama, were they to beat Georgia?
- 15:46Speaker 3: Absolutely not well, it seems like Georgia.
- 15:51Speaker 1: They've been making this.
- 15:52Speaker 1: The what's gonna happen is this pack 12 game, the winners getting in right and I well, I think Texas this is actually a better team.
- 16:01Speaker 3: Hey, that's this is go ahead and stop referring, they have a better out of conference win to them is pack 12.
- 16:07Speaker 3: At this point, there's Washington or Oregon, even have it out of conference win.
- 16:11Speaker 3: I.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Yeah, they do.
- 16:13Speaker 2: It's not against anybody.
- 16:14Speaker 2: Good Oregon is not.
- 16:20Speaker 1: They don't have that, but that's the last thing on Allegedly the well, it's on the thing that you're supposed to look at right when evaluating the team.
- 16:28Speaker 3: If we're splitting hairs, we're splitting hairs right.
- 16:30Speaker 2: I think we can start making a bigger deal out of the fact that, like I just said, oregon and Washington are for all intents and purposes is not even pack 12.
- 16:41Speaker 2: Right, they'll get into the playoff and you know they'll have the patch on their jersey.
- 16:47Speaker 2: But say one of them win the title.
- 16:50Speaker 2: All of the future accolades and everything for that will be enjoyed by the Big 10, you know.
- 16:55Speaker 2: So who exactly is pushing?
- 16:57Speaker 1: this right.
- 17:00Speaker 2: It's networks man.
- 17:01Speaker 2: Yeah, that's why you're seeing Oregon kind of get lauded, as you know, because impressive one-loss team and not Texas.
- 17:08Speaker 1: I guess it's because they lost to the Washington and they would have a chance to avenge that loss.
- 17:13Speaker 1: But I Don't know.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Texas loss only loss they had was a neutral site game to Oklahoma.
- 17:20Speaker 1: The rivalry game Right and they have the best win in the country One of them, you know, at Alabama right now yeah.
- 17:29Speaker 3: Right now, yes, so the only thing, in my opinion the only thing I just don't hop, it would be Alabama being able to beat Georgia, but what do you?
- 17:36Speaker 1: think what's up with this argument about having a one-loss team over an undefeated?
- 17:42Speaker 3: There's no argument there and I but I know.
- 17:45Speaker 1: But that happened.
- 17:45Speaker 1: We saw it happen ten years ago, when they did put two up to one lost teams ahead of an undefeated team.
- 17:52Speaker 1: So who floor state?
- 17:54Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, look what happened to us.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I know so that yeah.
- 17:58Speaker 3: I thought you were.
- 17:59Speaker 3: I thought you were talking about being less.
- 18:00Speaker 3: It's not.
- 18:01Speaker 3: Is it what you deserve or is it what Left out?
- 18:04Speaker 1: because if you could win all your games and Technically with it, someone doesn't think you're good enough, you won't get voted in.
- 18:12Speaker 1: And there's a lot of people out there saying that if Florida State were to win this game, they should just go be happy with going to the Orange Bowl.
- 18:19Speaker 3: Nobody's saying that.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Yeah, there's some people that that that might be saying it.
- 18:25Speaker 3: There's articles.
- 18:28Speaker 2: Yeah, what I'm, what I'm saying is like it's not even don't even look at it, is it's like you don't deserve to go or you know, right, it's more of a.
- 18:36Speaker 2: The committee would be like, well, we can't not have both.
- 18:40Speaker 2: And they would be talking about the SEC teams, right?
- 18:43Speaker 2: The only danger of that is if Alabama wins, I'm telling you right now.
- 18:50Speaker 1: We lost a big time, no.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Traveling man probably hit a dead zone.
- 18:54Speaker 2: Yep, that's all right.
- 18:56Speaker 2: Well, yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 18:58Speaker 2: It's not even.
- 18:59Speaker 2: The only way that it becomes a danger is when you force the committee to be like Well, dude, we can't not have, you know both like.
- 19:07Speaker 2: George's got to go.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Yeah, they're clearly one of the I don't agree.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Right, I know I don't agree.
- 19:13Speaker 1: I think if they lose this game which they're not, by the way no, I don't think they're gonna lose, I nobody nobody has touched Carson Beck all season, right, like when he drives back to pass the.
- 19:24Speaker 2: You hear crickets, right, nothing that that offensive line is ridiculous.
- 19:29Speaker 2: But again, I don't know that anybody has any pass rushers Like Alabama other than Georgia themselves.
- 19:36Speaker 1: I mean, I think it's gonna be More of a test for Georgia.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Yeah, then it.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Initially because I think Alabama is gonna use last week as fuel.
- 19:47Speaker 1: But at the end of the day, do you think Jaylin Monroe can throw in the secondary?
- 19:55Speaker 2: well, I Don't personally, but I think I'll get a few.
- 20:00Speaker 2: There's just as good a chance.
- 20:01Speaker 2: As you know, jaylin wrote, even if he does like Carson Beck may go out there and win it for him.
- 20:06Speaker 2: That's it.
- 20:06Speaker 2: That's a kid Nobody really talks about right been really.
- 20:10Speaker 1: He's been really good, really good, and Offense has been really good.
- 20:13Speaker 1: What would I?
- 20:14Speaker 1: When you see Georgia A couple of times this year, they just turn it on.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Yeah all the big games.
- 20:21Speaker 2: They go to that next level.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Hey, it's like alright.
- 20:23Speaker 2: Somebody's coming in here thinking they got a shot.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Let us remind everybody yeah, we're we, we don't, just don't you.
- 20:31Speaker 1: If they there's, I just don't see that that team losing to anybody.
- 20:35Speaker 2: I don't either.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Um, I think Alabama's got the best shot at anybody in the country just because of the style they play the familiarity, yep, all of that.
- 20:45Speaker 1: But that's what's so great about this matchup is, and this year in particular is because we have that many Contenders where you're not gonna get a one-loss TCU who loses the big 12 championship.
- 20:58Speaker 1: That makes it.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Yeah you're not gonna get that.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Yeah you're not gonna get a Georgia team that loses the SEC championship there with it.
- 21:04Speaker 1: I know you don't believe that, but, dad gummit, it should be true.
- 21:08Speaker 1: They're not gonna have the conference championship.
- 21:11Speaker 1: I know, but I will so you have to put them behind.
- 21:16Speaker 2: Alabama does pull off the upset.
- 21:18Speaker 2: I mean that means Alabama.
- 21:19Speaker 2: You're gonna jump them from eight to three or two, or one, depending on how the other Championship games shake out.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Well, you already know Whoever wins the pack is gonna have a great win.
- 21:35Speaker 2: Yeah, it's gonna be close.
- 21:36Speaker 2: If it's Washington, they've beaten the same team twice.
- 21:39Speaker 2: It doesn't really give you any credit for it.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Which would be, I think, huge.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a sad reality, but it you know, beat in Oregon twice, although it's almost impossible to beat a team twice in the same season For college teams.
- 21:54Speaker 2: I'm only saying that in recent history, you know.
- 21:57Speaker 2: But they're not gonna get credit for it, not like Alabama would beating Georgia.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Yeah, and so that ESPN just ran with the.
- 22:08Speaker 1: You know they have the article.
- 22:09Speaker 1: Yeah, they're in a fair in a fair world.
- 22:12Speaker 2: We're at.
- 22:12Speaker 2: You know nothing else besides like.
- 22:14Speaker 2: You know the tournament and how things were at one loss and when you let, you know the way the baseball and basketball were you, and it doesn't matter how great you were.
- 22:22Speaker 2: You know if you lose, you're done, You're out right, but the loss, not losing.
- 22:27Speaker 1: It's when you lose.
- 22:27Speaker 1: This is not you can.
- 22:29Speaker 2: You can have a great Season and losing the championship and be disqualified From the playoffs just like everybody else.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Well, if you go on to feed, it done.
- 22:40Speaker 1: You were undefeated.
- 22:41Speaker 1: They're gonna, they're going in.
- 22:43Speaker 2: Yeah that's.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Otherwise this whole thing would be a Sham.
- 22:48Speaker 1: And then you gotta have some way.
- 22:51Speaker 2: I guess what I'm saying is like it is indeed a sham and for us, yeah to find that out, like all that has happened is for Alabama to win.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Yeah, alabama wins, and you're gonna have just how.
- 23:01Speaker 1: Well, you're gonna have Georgia, you're gonna have it's good.
- 23:07Speaker 2: Right Georgia ain't dropping any further than four.
- 23:11Speaker 1: I do.
- 23:11Speaker 1: I think they're not.
- 23:13Speaker 2: No way, yes, nope.
- 23:15Speaker 3: Maybe, maybe if they get both out.
- 23:18Speaker 1: Alabama comes in and runs them off the field.
- 23:21Speaker 2: They're both out.
- 23:21Speaker 2: How about that?
- 23:22Speaker 2: No, I see seeing again.
- 23:23Speaker 2: I know, but they should.
- 23:25Speaker 1: They should.
- 23:26Speaker 1: I would agree with that, they should.
- 23:27Speaker 1: If that happens, if Alabama loses, do you think they should go over Texas?
- 23:31Speaker 1: Do I personally think Texas comes out and looks and just blows out Oklahoma State.
- 23:37Speaker 1: They've been looking good.
- 23:38Speaker 1: They got Quinn, yours back.
- 23:39Speaker 1: You know this is a team right, dominated they.
- 23:43Speaker 1: They look Dominant right, and then I think you should put, you put Texas in, so that's, they're not gonna.
- 23:49Speaker 1: They're not gonna do that the head-to-head should matter.
- 23:52Speaker 2: So then you have.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Texas when I'm saying when everything is just done from an analytical view and all and all of that, then, yeah, texas would go over Alabama.
- 24:00Speaker 2: Not gonna happen, though.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Like that's just not the way that that this whole thing is is broken.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Alabama.
- 24:09Speaker 2: People campaign and lobby.
- 24:11Speaker 2: You know, starting at about week two, like alright man, looking like we got three or four contenders in the SEC, let's put these teams here right on the cusp of the top ten and just kind of cycle through them.
- 24:21Speaker 2: So the resume and it's, you know, big ten is kind of pick that game up.
- 24:26Speaker 2: That's what it's gonna be.
- 24:26Speaker 2: That's why you're pushing towards power two conferences and yada, yada, yada, big playoff.
- 24:31Speaker 2: This is the last year where you can potentially have the fact that it's all just a sham shoved in your face and that happens If Alibi?
- 24:42Speaker 1: a SEC championship and what you know, all the scenarios.
- 24:46Speaker 1: That were what would happen and what it would happen if Alabama wins, if Georgia still goes.
- 24:55Speaker 1: What do you think?
- 24:58Speaker 2: What do you think happens and what do you think is fair?
- 25:00Speaker 1: gotcha I.
- 25:03Speaker 3: Mean that we need Georgia to go ahead and win that game.
- 25:06Speaker 3: Texas too, and that's because yeah and then you know, chances are Michigan's got that third one.
- 25:22Speaker 3: Yeah right we don't need to be battling for that for a spot like that right.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Well, you know, because you have a scenario there.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Well, if you have a Michigan, which they're not gonna lose to Iowa, you have your Pac-12 champion.
- 25:38Speaker 1: You have Alabama beats Georgia, you have a Texas team with their, with their quarterback back, then you have a Georgia team with one loss and you have an undefeated Florida State team.
- 25:54Speaker 1: There's only two spots.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Who gets them?
- 25:56Speaker 1: For the state for state and I Would say Alabama.
- 26:07Speaker 3: I mean, who do I think?
- 26:08Speaker 1: I think it should go to Texas, then you wouldn't get an SEC team.
- 26:11Speaker 1: No SEC team in the playoffs if Alabama wins.
- 26:15Speaker 3: How about that?
- 26:16Speaker 1: That's right.
- 26:17Speaker 1: So that's there you go, texas for.
- 26:20Speaker 3: Logically.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Yeah, texas for Michigan won one.
- 26:24Speaker 1: Washington to Florida State three, how about that?
- 26:30Speaker 3: Mm-hmm or FSU to an Oregon three, that's fine, yeah, fsu to an Oregon three.
- 26:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:36Speaker 1: So do you think if Oregon wins, do you think they'll jump Florida State in the rankings?
- 26:43Speaker 1: No ah, I do absolutely not well, I hope you're right.
- 26:49Speaker 1: So that means if, if Oregon were to win and Move up, they go to four for, say, goes to three, plays Michigan, that's what yeah okay, I got you.
- 27:01Speaker 1: And then Oregon plays Georgia.
- 27:04Speaker 3: Georgia.
- 27:05Speaker 3: Yeah, that, that's what I'm betting on right there.
- 27:07Speaker 1: Okay, I like it.
- 27:08Speaker 1: That would be if everything happened in.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Oregon wins the game tonight, florida State beats Louisville and Georgia beats Alabama.
- 27:16Speaker 3: Everything happens that's supposed to happen right I?
- 27:20Speaker 1: I would just guess that they would put Oregon ahead Just so they could get that big 10-pack 12 matchup in the Rose Bowl.
- 27:27Speaker 1: That was my only yeah, yeah, but but you know they're not supposed to do it by that.
- 27:36Speaker 3: That's not.
- 27:38Speaker 1: I know, but like technically which, which one would you rather do if you could decide?
- 27:42Speaker 1: Would you rather go to the Rose Bowl and play Michigan, or would you rather go to the sugar bowl and play?
- 27:48Speaker 1: You'd rather go play Michigan, okay, yeah, my, I can't decide on that one.
- 27:56Speaker 2: Well, you know, I'd rather play Michigan too, probably we'll have a.
- 27:59Speaker 1: We'll love to talk about that.
- 28:00Speaker 1: I don't think that's after the fact, of course, you don't.
- 28:03Speaker 1: You think they're gonna lose.
- 28:04Speaker 2: and then, if you, think, I think it think what.
- 28:06Speaker 1: FSU is gonna lose and then if FSU wins, you think they're gonna get left out.
- 28:10Speaker 1: No, no, I think.
- 28:13Speaker 3: Losing would be great for the playoffs.
- 28:16Speaker 2: I think you've.
- 28:16Speaker 1: Michigan go if they lose no, michigan lose.
- 28:19Speaker 3: Yeah, do you think?
- 28:20Speaker 1: they go still with a big 10-check.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I will go.
- 28:25Speaker 3: No, no, yeah, you know what's crazy is.
- 28:27Speaker 1: Iowa should be 11 and one.
- 28:28Speaker 1: They got hosed in a game this year by a terrible call.
- 28:33Speaker 1: I think I remember it was that they called it.
- 28:36Speaker 1: They said he did a fair catch and they didn't even blow the flight like did it after they did it, after he had returned it to.
- 28:42Speaker 1: Because if they win that game and they win this game, then they're in With a one loss and a win over Michigan big 10 champ.
- 28:52Speaker 1: Yeah, that's.
- 28:54Speaker 1: You don't think a 12 and one Iowa team makes it, man, that would be Iowa's just been like.
- 29:06Speaker 2: I don't think anybody from the sea punts the century.
- 29:10Speaker 1: They just have.
- 29:12Speaker 3: we'd have another TCU showing, oh yeah all right.
- 29:15Speaker 1: Well, so you got Jaden Daniels as your Heisman winner big-time, no.
- 29:21Speaker 3: No, no Jordan.
- 29:24Speaker 1: Well, okay, I love that.
- 29:25Speaker 1: Who do you think's gonna win, though?
- 29:28Speaker 3: Yeah, probably probably LSU kid.
- 29:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 29:31Speaker 3: Him or penis.
- 29:33Speaker 1: Yep, I well, uh, who ever wins the Pac-12 chant?
- 29:36Speaker 1: Who ever wins the Pac-12 game tonight and then?
- 29:43Speaker 2: Jaden Daniels that's gonna be yeah.
- 29:45Speaker 1: Right now we can be like yeah yeah, jordan Travis can be like yeah, I was two and oh against that guy.
- 29:52Speaker 3: So yeah, shut him down.
- 29:54Speaker 1: Yeah, all right.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Well, 27, 13 is the score.
- 29:58Speaker 1: Big time.
- 29:59Speaker 1: No safe travels to you.
- 30:00Speaker 3: Thanks again for joining us man Go Nulls All right.
- 30:05Speaker 1: Yep, all right, big time no.
- 30:12Speaker 2: I mean, I would love to play in the.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Rose Bowl it went, but how do they not keep Oregon ahead of Florida State Beat the number three team in the country.
- 30:29Speaker 1: Yeah, what do you do?
- 30:30Speaker 1: I Don't know man.
- 30:33Speaker 1: You just you got a.
- 30:34Speaker 1: So you, who do you got?
- 30:37Speaker 1: You got Georgia winning though, yeah, the whole thing, oh yeah.
- 30:40Speaker 1: No, I meant that this is Saturday.
- 30:42Speaker 1: It's take the Saturday.
- 30:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I got yours win.
- 30:45Speaker 2: We had to go get him win All right, who do you got winning tonight?
- 30:52Speaker 1: Oregon, Washington, Oregon.
- 30:55Speaker 2: Anybody else, I do.
- 30:56Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 30:57Speaker 2: I don't know that they're gonna just destroy our Washington, like people are thinking, man, like win by two touchdowns and you know, I think Washington's going.
- 31:07Speaker 2: Where they playing this game at?
- 31:08Speaker 2: Where is Vegas, baby Vegas, okay.
- 31:10Speaker 1: Vegas.
- 31:13Speaker 2: Well, We'll see man Washington wins yeah.
- 31:17Speaker 2: I'm upset, I think people undefeated they sleep on Washington because of the close wins man that's a dangerous thing to just assume that a team sucks because they win close games.
- 31:27Speaker 1: I kind of want there to be four undefeated teams in the last year of the playoffs.
- 31:30Speaker 1: That would be kind of cool.
- 31:31Speaker 1: The one year when you finally got the most balanced playoff scenario.
- 31:37Speaker 1: You have four undefeated conference champions.
- 31:39Speaker 1: Let's just make it easy on the committee man, come on.
- 31:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Georgia.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Take care business.
- 31:45Speaker 1: Washington wins tonight.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Michigan, I hope they don't, but my Hawkeyes are no.
- 31:53Speaker 1: There's no way they're gonna be Michigan.
- 31:54Speaker 1: Go ahead and give them that.
- 31:55Speaker 1: Florida State, with everybody watching, everybody pulling for Louisville, comes out with a heroic effort to get the win.
- 32:04Speaker 1: But I know you're nervous, it's because the quarterback right.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Yeah, quarterback held to the offensive game time decision for Tate Roddermaker that has been released.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Right they'll you knew that they got to put them through the protocols man yeah I have to get him one more dirty hit test right before the game to see if he can actually do it.
- 32:25Speaker 1: But he practiced all week.
- 32:27Speaker 2: Relative practice.
- 32:28Speaker 2: Yeah, you got.
- 32:29Speaker 2: He got out there, got the Wiggles out probably you think Florida State can win with Brock Lane?
- 32:33Speaker 2: Quarterback.
- 32:34Speaker 2: I Don't know man, I got a.
- 32:38Speaker 2: You know we've seen him throw how many passes, like maybe four or five.
- 32:45Speaker 2: Yeah, he's look good running the ball, man, it's gonna tall order.
- 32:51Speaker 2: It is yeah, the defense is gonna have to Just play.
- 32:59Speaker 2: I, you know they can't.
- 33:00Speaker 2: I don't think they're gonna do as much subbing in this game Defensively this is what you've been waiting for.
- 33:04Speaker 1: You get some time on back to this.
- 33:06Speaker 1: You get some help from yeah Jackson if you make the playoff.
- 33:10Speaker 2: Dude, you get some big help.
- 33:11Speaker 1: Yeah, it's really good I believe Some muscle.
- 33:13Speaker 1: All right, Jimmy, we got the championships.
- 33:18Speaker 1: Tomorrow we'll do a reaction show and we'll talk to you then.
- 33:22Speaker 1: Yeah, right here on the North Florida Sports Network.
