- 0:00Speaker 1: Jim Maxwell and for Jane Stouthard. It is the kfab
- 0:03Speaker 1: comment line on news radio eleven to ten. KFAB producer
- 0:06Speaker 1: Peyton Highlock is at the controls as always four oh two, five, five,
- 0:11Speaker 1: eight eleven ten. Comment at kfab dot com or jump
- 0:15Speaker 1: on the talkback mic on the iHeartRadio app. Yes, one
- 0:19Speaker 1: more day of the sauna out there, and so the
- 0:24Speaker 1: oak Hills Pool playlist. Now, if if you've heard me,
- 0:27Speaker 1: use this as stick before. I spent six wonderful years
- 0:31Speaker 1: growing up in Ralston and we belong to the oak
- 0:34Speaker 1: Hills Pool. I remember one day when I was guest
- 0:39Speaker 1: hosting in the afternoon, somebody at the pool called in
- 0:42Speaker 1: to say, Hey, I'm officially inviting you back, come back
- 0:45Speaker 1: to the pool, oak Hills Pool. But I spent many
- 0:49Speaker 1: summer days afternoons at the oak Hills Pool. And so
- 0:54Speaker 1: the bumpers today, in honor of our scorching late July
- 0:59Speaker 1: weather is these are tunes I recircle nineteen seventy as
- 1:05Speaker 1: the tunes I remember over the speakers at the pool.
- 1:08Speaker 1: And so hopefully that'll put a little gidda up in
- 1:11Speaker 1: your step today and help you cope with the heat.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Smile in the face of what Mother Nature's dealing is
- 1:16Speaker 1: for at least one more day. Here the Oak Hills
- 1:19Speaker 1: Pool playlist soon to come, Peyton Highlock it is. Let's see,
- 1:25Speaker 1: it's three weeks to the day since the last time
- 1:27Speaker 1: we were in this studio making mischief. How has July
- 1:30Speaker 1: treated you? Chip?
- 1:32Speaker 2: I love July. I'm a big summer guy, as we
- 1:34Speaker 2: all are. But there's something about July. It's the snap
- 1:37Speaker 2: of a finger. If if we had July every February,
- 1:42Speaker 2: I think life would be amazing.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Wow, my July has been great.
- 1:47Speaker 1: That is. That's more than I was bargaining for. I
- 1:50Speaker 1: was looking for just to throw away coment. We're getting
- 1:53Speaker 1: philosophy here from this youngster who is wise beyond his years.
- 1:58Speaker 1: You look awfully calm, cool and collected for a guy
- 2:01Speaker 1: who is mere weeks away from marriage. Do I have
- 2:06Speaker 1: that right?
- 2:07Speaker 3: Yes?
- 2:07Speaker 1: Chip?
- 2:08Speaker 3: About ten days twelve days away?
- 2:11Speaker 1: Now?
- 2:12Speaker 2: Oh yeah, okay, yes, it's coming up very soon. I'm
- 2:14Speaker 2: very excited. Thankfully, a lot of it's done, I would say,
- 2:18Speaker 2: just about everything is situated right now?
- 2:21Speaker 1: Well good? Yes, you know. Is this an old school deal, Peyton,
- 2:24Speaker 1: where you just have to clean up, shave and show
- 2:28Speaker 1: up on time in your wedding tucks or are you
- 2:31Speaker 1: intimately involved in the planning of the event.
- 2:33Speaker 2: I would like to believe that I'm involved more than
- 2:36Speaker 2: what was probably expected of me.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Okay.
- 2:38Speaker 2: The beautiful thing about my bride to be is she's
- 2:42Speaker 2: a very decisive woman.
- 2:44Speaker 1: That helps.
- 2:45Speaker 3: She knows what she wants.
- 2:46Speaker 2: She doesn't well, she knows what she wants and she
- 2:50Speaker 2: makes a decision, and that makes it way easier for me.
- 2:53Speaker 1: I married one of those myself, and yes, that is
- 2:57Speaker 1: one of the advantages.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Still doesn't know where she wants to eat dinner, but
- 3:01Speaker 2: for the wedding decisive enough, good, good, good.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Well, God bless you on that. I'll see you sometime
- 3:10Speaker 1: on the other side. I'm sure we'll see how you're
- 3:12Speaker 1: holding up. One more item of business with you on
- 3:16Speaker 1: my agenda with you, Peyton, is the last time we
- 3:19Speaker 1: were together, you were rocking your twenty twenty six World
- 3:23Speaker 1: Cup jersey. The World Cup has run its course. Your
- 3:28Speaker 1: take on the World Cup? You played college soccer, You
- 3:32Speaker 1: are very much immersed in the sport. What did you think?
- 3:35Speaker 3: First and foremost?
- 3:36Speaker 2: I think what I was most happy to see was
- 3:39Speaker 2: the reception from Americans from United States Americans, people who
- 3:46Speaker 2: don't really like soccer, or they've been longtime non soccer
- 3:51Speaker 2: fans that have now had their interest peaked.
- 3:55Speaker 3: And I'm so overjoyed to see that.
- 3:58Speaker 2: And this has been a a message on this radio
- 4:01Speaker 2: station for the last two months while the World Cup
- 4:05Speaker 2: is here. All of the people coming over from around
- 4:08Speaker 2: the world to the United States have nothing but good
- 4:12Speaker 2: things to say, and that's been my favorite part.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think even the little kerfuffle with Trump
- 4:19Speaker 1: getting the American player back on the pitch, you know,
- 4:24Speaker 1: after the red card, I think that just turned out
- 4:28Speaker 1: to be a little side show at Tangent. It was not.
- 4:31Speaker 1: I think the overall, as you characterize it, it was
- 4:34Speaker 1: very positive. It was a reciprocally positive experience for Americans
- 4:38Speaker 1: and for those who came to visit. In fact, I'd
- 4:41Speaker 1: like somebody out there to make a video of as
- 4:44Speaker 1: we hear increasing negativity about America, you know, as the
- 4:48Speaker 1: campaign reaches its crescendo here in the late summer and fall,
- 4:52Speaker 1: maybe America through the eyes of twenty twenty six World
- 4:55Speaker 1: Cup visitors would give people a fresh perspective. You are right.
- 5:01Speaker 1: I never played the game, so I don't have the
- 5:06Speaker 1: same passion for it that you do. But I love
- 5:09Speaker 1: the spectacle, I love the way America rallied to it,
- 5:14Speaker 1: and I love the fact that our guests had a
- 5:18Speaker 1: great experience here. And so yeah, I think on the
- 5:23Speaker 1: whole it was positive as well. All right, back here
- 5:27Speaker 1: at home, this is kind of random, Peyton. Have you
- 5:32Speaker 1: seen this? This thing on social media where people do
- 5:38Speaker 1: a quick round of rock paper scissors and the loser
- 5:42Speaker 1: has to go run a lap or run across the
- 5:44Speaker 1: yard or wherever you are, and the winner gets to
- 5:46Speaker 1: chow down on a table full of food. Have you
- 5:50Speaker 1: seen this?
- 5:51Speaker 3: Yes, yes, I'm aware.
- 5:52Speaker 1: I don't know if there's a catching name for it
- 5:54Speaker 1: or not. But in my never ending quest to be
- 5:57Speaker 1: relatable as a baby boomer father of seven, somehow I
- 6:02Speaker 1: allowed my children to dragoon me into this over the week.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Somehow on Saturday high noon, you know, the temperatures climbing
- 6:12Speaker 1: through the nineties, and the sun is right overhead beating
- 6:17Speaker 1: down on us, and for some reason we picked that
- 6:19Speaker 1: moment too. My backyard is I don't know, it's about
- 6:23Speaker 1: fifty or sixty feet the long way. So the kids
- 6:26Speaker 1: set up a table at one end and at least
- 6:29Speaker 1: it was food. I like it was Chip fil a sandwiches,
- 6:32Speaker 1: waffle fries and things. But it's a ninety five and
- 6:35Speaker 1: you're outside for five minutes and you're already soaked in sweat.
- 6:39Speaker 1: It's heavy sauna heat, you know. So we decided that
- 6:42Speaker 1: our idea of fun would be to do this. We
- 6:46Speaker 1: did it in pairs. I get people usually do it
- 6:48Speaker 1: in small groups, so we'd pair off different you know,
- 6:50Speaker 1: boom boom, boom, and then the winner has to the
- 6:53Speaker 1: winter gets to start chowering on the food. The loser
- 6:55Speaker 1: has to go run to the other side of the oar,
- 6:57Speaker 1: touch the fence and come back. We did it in
- 7:00Speaker 1: rounds of three and so somehow, and we had two
- 7:05Speaker 1: family dogs running around and tripping people and in the
- 7:08Speaker 1: midst of it as well. It was fun, I admit
- 7:10Speaker 1: it was fun, but so and I won a few rounds.
- 7:14Speaker 1: I had to run a few times, but you know,
- 7:16Speaker 1: in between, I'm just chomping on a spicy chicken sandwich
- 7:21Speaker 1: and stuffing in a few waffle fries as well. And
- 7:25Speaker 1: then I don't know how this happened exactly. So we
- 7:28Speaker 1: finally go inside to cool off, and then one of
- 7:30Speaker 1: the kids makes blueberry pancakes. So I stuffed myself in
- 7:35Speaker 1: the heat with Chick fil at I come in and
- 7:37Speaker 1: eat a plate of flapjacks. I think I ate a
- 7:42Speaker 1: little watermelon to make it all healthy. And I took
- 7:46Speaker 1: a long, hard nap Saturday after you. I was and
- 7:50Speaker 1: I'm even my I'm kind of woozy the whole rest
- 7:52Speaker 1: of the weekend. I'm still a little queasy now thinking
- 7:55Speaker 1: about not the greatest combination of elements there. But it
- 7:59Speaker 1: was fun. And as I say, I just you know,
- 8:02Speaker 1: I do it for you Kfabe Nations so I can
- 8:04Speaker 1: be fully relatable and up to speed on the latest
- 8:06Speaker 1: trends whenever I'm at this microphone. All right, speaking of
- 8:10Speaker 1: the latest trends, there are a lot of things I
- 8:12Speaker 1: hope to talk about. The Arizona primary last week, what
- 8:16Speaker 1: that might mean for our primary year. Remember we've got
- 8:19Speaker 1: to turn this blue dot red. Are you checking with
- 8:22Speaker 1: Chip every morning? KFAB podcast page? The Arizona primary, the well,
- 8:30Speaker 1: this sad thing that happened in Berlin with the guy
- 8:33Speaker 1: with the Muslim with terrorist connections plowing his van into
- 8:37Speaker 1: a Pride event in Berlin. I saw something about the
- 8:43Speaker 1: Charlie Kirk Trial that I want to make sure it
- 8:45Speaker 1: gets corrected. It was in Slate magazine, a leftist publication,
- 8:50Speaker 1: of course, the president's recent revelations. I'm sure Gene Stothard
- 8:54Speaker 1: and Chris Baker and other voices on kfab probably talked
- 8:57Speaker 1: about that. The icons, of course, and their mischief with
- 9:03Speaker 1: our voting records, paying influencers to put out negative propaganda
- 9:08Speaker 1: and and the deep state covering it up. I think
- 9:11Speaker 1: that bothers me. I matter at them, and then I
- 9:13Speaker 1: am at the chicoms. But here's where I want to
- 9:17Speaker 1: start today, and who knows, it may take up the
- 9:19Speaker 1: whole conversation. The Odyssey, Peyton, have you seen the Odyssey yet?
- 9:23Speaker 2: I love the direction of this show so far, Chip,
- 9:26Speaker 2: I have seen the Odyssey.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Ah okay, just a footnote.
- 9:30Speaker 2: I went over to Council Bluffs, one of forty one
- 9:35Speaker 2: IMAX theaters that shows the Odyssey directly as Christopher Nolan intendo.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Oh you went for it. Wow? All right, let's uh,
- 9:45Speaker 1: well you can. You can fire the first shot if
- 9:47Speaker 1: you want. I have not seen it, and so I'm
- 9:50Speaker 1: throwing it out there today to kfab Nation four oh two, five, five,
- 9:54Speaker 1: eight eleven ten comment at kfab dot com or the
- 9:57Speaker 1: talkback mic on the iHeartRadio app. Have you seen the Odyssey?
- 10:01Speaker 1: What did you think? A lot of conservatives and traditionalists
- 10:06Speaker 1: have praised it. A few have panned it. Some are
- 10:09Speaker 1: complaining about woke casting. Everybody should be Greek and should
- 10:13Speaker 1: be white. I don't know that doesn't pose as much
- 10:16Speaker 1: of a problem for me. Here here's my concern, and
- 10:19Speaker 1: I'll be interested to get your take on this. Peyton
- 10:23Speaker 1: Star Wars turned Luke Skywalker into a brooding, wet blanket
- 10:30Speaker 1: instead of the swashbuckling adventurer that people came to know
- 10:34Speaker 1: and love. Now, if Christopher Nolan did that with Odysseus,
- 10:39Speaker 1: then I say he blew it. He should have told
- 10:42Speaker 1: Matt Damon to channel his Jason Bourne, you know, because Odysseus.
- 10:46Speaker 1: Odysseus was the original Jason Bourne, James Bond, Michael Weston.
- 10:51Speaker 1: You ever watched Burn? Notice you're too young. You probably
- 10:53Speaker 1: never saw Burn. Notice. Michael Weston was this CIA operative
- 10:58Speaker 1: who found himself on the outs with the government. But
- 11:01Speaker 1: the show is featuring his talents, is I mean? He
- 11:05Speaker 1: has to use four sometimes, but it's more he's he
- 11:07Speaker 1: can be a con man, he can pull off scams.
- 11:11Speaker 1: He can trick bad people into bringing themselves down, you know,
- 11:15Speaker 1: very much like Odysseus. Even add bugs Bunny to the list,
- 11:21Speaker 1: as far as you know, a sort of American swagger
- 11:24Speaker 1: protagonist who succeeds by brain as much as Braun. Okay,
- 11:29Speaker 1: a lovable rogue. Now these are always usual. Odysseus certainly
- 11:33Speaker 1: was a complicated character. Sometimes add character lapses, but someone
- 11:38Speaker 1: who's fundamentally good and a champion of good over evil.
- 11:42Speaker 1: All right. So the knock I've heard from some on
- 11:45Speaker 1: the right, Peyton, is that this Odysseus the matt damon.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Odysseus racked with guilt over the giant wooden horse, the
- 11:54Speaker 1: trick played on the Trojans, and the tone of his
- 11:59Speaker 1: character is and regretful that he violated Zeus's law of
- 12:04Speaker 1: welcoming the stranger. And so the critics on the right
- 12:08Speaker 1: run with that and say it's a backdoor into woke immigration,
- 12:11Speaker 1: no borders politics today. I don't know that's a stretch.
- 12:15Speaker 1: I love the fact that America is having a conversation
- 12:20Speaker 1: about one of the great works of Western civilization. I
- 12:25Speaker 1: think that's great.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Peyton, what do you think of the movie First of all,
- 12:29Speaker 2: I think the cinematography, the filming was absolutely remarkable. One
- 12:36Speaker 2: thing that I love so much about Christopher Nolan is
- 12:38Speaker 2: his lack of CGI. Okay, this is not a spoiler
- 12:43Speaker 2: at all, but the Cyclops Cyclops was a sixty foot
- 12:46Speaker 2: puppet in real life that was turned to be the
- 12:51Speaker 2: Cyclops we know in the movie that was not generated
- 12:54Speaker 2: on a computer screen, and that you'll see that all
- 12:57Speaker 2: throughout the movie. The idea that Odysseus is a triumphant,
- 13:03Speaker 2: dominating force was not particularly portrayed throughout this film. You
- 13:10Speaker 2: use the line brains over brawn. There was times where
- 13:15Speaker 2: maybe you wouldn't call it a mistake, but a misstep
- 13:18Speaker 2: that made it tougher for him down the line. I
- 13:21Speaker 2: think that Odysseus was intelligent, He was a great leader,
- 13:26Speaker 2: and he always did what was best for the collective,
- 13:30Speaker 2: never put himself first, and he showed great leadership, great courage.
- 13:35Speaker 2: But he did wrestle with guilt. He did wrestle with guilt.
- 13:39Speaker 2: And there's this underlying theme throughout the movie where maybe
- 13:42Speaker 2: it's his subconscious that comes to visit him that makes
- 13:46Speaker 2: him even more regretful about his decision. But you see
- 13:52Speaker 2: it he did, maybe not lie, but used a bit
- 13:57Speaker 2: of trickery to get in with the whole with the
- 14:00Speaker 2: Trojan horse, and that that sits with him throughout the film.
- 14:04Speaker 2: But I still think that it captured who Odysseus was
- 14:08Speaker 2: and his character.
- 14:09Speaker 1: So I'm hearing a pretty positive review. It sounds like
- 14:12Speaker 1: you enjoyed the movie.
- 14:12Speaker 3: I enjoyed the movie.
- 14:14Speaker 2: I've heard a lot of pushback as well about the
- 14:17Speaker 2: quote unquote woke casting. Yeah, sure, I mean you could
- 14:22Speaker 2: you could argue that. I don't think that it takes
- 14:26Speaker 2: away from the film at all.
- 14:27Speaker 1: If the storyline is good and it's it's captivating, then
- 14:32Speaker 1: I don't know that Helen of Troy's race matters that much.
- 14:36Speaker 1: I mean, if it's if the story is good, it's good.
- 14:40Speaker 1: I've I've heard some critical commentary that the language is
- 14:44Speaker 1: too modern, you know that, But it sounds like it
- 14:51Speaker 1: sounds like you are aware. Most people I've heard, even
- 14:54Speaker 1: people who consider themselves conservative, have enjoyed it and recommend
- 14:59Speaker 1: people seeing it. And you know, more exposure to our
- 15:03Speaker 1: ancient cultural roots in Western civilization.
- 15:06Speaker 2: You know what, I would say, Even more than the
- 15:08Speaker 2: woke casting, something that I've been disappointed with about Hollywood
- 15:12Speaker 2: in general for the last ten or fifteen years is
- 15:15Speaker 2: the persistent use of superstar, top of the line actors
- 15:20Speaker 2: and actresses. Okay, Tom Holland is in this film. He's
- 15:24Speaker 2: a great actor. He's also Spider Man.
- 15:27Speaker 3: Okay.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Spider Man is set to release on July thirty first,
- 15:30Speaker 2: So he has two phenomenal movies coming out in the
- 15:35Speaker 2: same month that he's marketing at the same time. And
- 15:38Speaker 2: I think to myself, Tom Holland, he's phenomenal, but I
- 15:41Speaker 2: can't get Spider Man out of my head.
- 15:43Speaker 3: I know, Spider Man.
- 15:44Speaker 1: That was more of a distraction than any racial or
- 15:47Speaker 1: ethnic casting.
- 15:48Speaker 3: You know.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Matt Damon, he played Odysseus phenomenally. He's got Ann Hathaway,
- 15:52Speaker 2: who is incredible. Ann Hathaway. How dare I say a
- 15:55Speaker 2: bad thing about Ann Hathaway?
- 15:56Speaker 3: You know what I mean? But it was a super
- 15:58Speaker 3: star studded cat.
- 16:00Speaker 1: So's she's Penelope, right?
- 16:02Speaker 3: Yes?
- 16:02Speaker 1: His wife? Uh, Telemic is the son that was Holland?
- 16:06Speaker 3: Yes, correct?
- 16:07Speaker 1: Yeah, Okay, keep going.
- 16:08Speaker 2: Then Zendeia, who is a the mid the subconscious kind
- 16:12Speaker 2: of the.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Film, you know, and it's really cool, but.
- 16:16Speaker 2: It's it's hard not to I think there might be
- 16:18Speaker 2: a name for it when you attribute the actor actress
- 16:23Speaker 2: to other films that they've done in the past, even
- 16:27Speaker 2: though they're in a current film.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, Well, if somebody's been type cast in a
- 16:31Speaker 1: certain role and uh or or you know, you're saying,
- 16:34Speaker 1: it's hard to block out the fact that this super
- 16:37Speaker 1: blockbuster Spider Man franchise is cranking up again and this
- 16:41Speaker 1: is the guy at the center of it. What about
- 16:45Speaker 1: now Nolan inserted a character that actually is not in
- 16:49Speaker 1: the Odyssey. Uh, this scene on Elliott Page, Ellen Page,
- 16:55Speaker 1: Elliott Page that the transgender person who who apparently has
- 17:01Speaker 1: a brief but important role in kind of setting the tone.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Is that an issue for you?
- 17:10Speaker 3: No, okay, no, but when you know who it is,
- 17:12Speaker 3: I mean it is a.
- 17:15Speaker 2: Probably I don't know the exact height five foot five
- 17:17Speaker 2: foot one, five foot two character playing a well I
- 17:22Speaker 2: won't say that so you can see the film yourself.
- 17:24Speaker 2: But it is short, but it's a significant role in
- 17:28Speaker 2: the way of the film. But I'm not too bothered
- 17:32Speaker 2: by it.
- 17:33Speaker 1: Four two, five, five, eight, eleven ten. Comment at kfab
- 17:37Speaker 1: dot com or the talkback mic on the iHeartRadio app. Now,
- 17:40Speaker 1: come on kfab nation. I know some of you must
- 17:43Speaker 1: have seen it already. Some of you must have a
- 17:46Speaker 1: take on the movie. Maybe you liked it, maybe you
- 17:50Speaker 1: hated it, maybe it kind of struck you somewhere in
- 17:53Speaker 1: between on the spectrum. Let us know. Let us know.
- 17:58Speaker 1: It is certainly on an epic scale by one of
- 18:03Speaker 1: the most famous directors of our time. So I'd love
- 18:06Speaker 1: to get your take on it. Oh no, here we go,
- 18:09Speaker 1: Sweet City Woman, the oa'kills pool playlist. See this is
- 18:12Speaker 1: back when pop music was fun boys, chasing girls, summertime mischief,
- 18:19Speaker 1: and this guy has managed to find a woman who
- 18:22Speaker 1: feeds in love and tenderness and macaroons. Oh she's a caper. Well,
- 18:29Speaker 1: Peyton's already taken. Maybe for the rest of you, Jim Maxwell,
- 18:33Speaker 1: and for Geene Stouther it's a Kfab comment line on
- 18:36Speaker 1: news radio eleven to ten Kfab producer Peyton highluck is
- 18:39Speaker 1: at the controls and those are Oakhill's pool playlist bumpers
- 18:42Speaker 1: you're hearing today music. I remember hearing over the speakers
- 18:46Speaker 1: at the o'kills pool and Ralston when I was growing
- 18:50Speaker 1: up again circa nineteen seventy, when pop music was fun,
- 18:54Speaker 1: not this heavy. Brooding stuff that my kids listened to. Actually,
- 18:59Speaker 1: they secretly like my music. They don't like to admit it.
- 19:02Speaker 1: But four oh two, five, five, eight eleven ten comment
- 19:05Speaker 1: at kfab dot com of the talkback mic on the
- 19:09Speaker 1: iHeartRadio app. Folks, it's too quiet. It's too quiet. We're
- 19:11Speaker 1: halfway through the show. It's too quiet. I want to
- 19:14Speaker 1: know what you think about the Odyssey? Come on now,
- 19:17Speaker 1: everybody's talking about it. What do you think about the Odyssey? Generally,
- 19:22Speaker 1: even on the right, well received. There are a few
- 19:25Speaker 1: critics on the right who don't like the characterization of Odysseus,
- 19:32Speaker 1: don't like the casting. What do you think Peyton enjoyed it?
- 19:37Speaker 1: Young Peyton here, cinematography, cinematography was great, great characters, Odysseus
- 19:44Speaker 1: well played by Matt Damon. What did you think? Four
- 19:48Speaker 1: oh two five, five eleven ten comment at kfab dot
- 19:52Speaker 1: com or the talkback mic on the iHeartRadio app. I
- 19:55Speaker 1: got something, pet I do got here?
- 19:57Speaker 2: Randy decided to uh push his mind here and this
- 20:01Speaker 2: is what the kfab comment line is for, says come on, ship.
- 20:04Speaker 2: There's a difference between a movie made to push an
- 20:06Speaker 2: agenda and a movie made to present a true artistic
- 20:11Speaker 2: perspective of a story or a historical event. The difference
- 20:14Speaker 2: is obvious. This Odyssey movie is a steaming pile of
- 20:18Speaker 2: dog droppings. What a dumbed down society we currently have,
- 20:23Speaker 2: especially with young people.
- 20:25Speaker 1: I think I'll tell you, what did you say? That
- 20:27Speaker 1: was Randy?
- 20:28Speaker 3: Randy?
- 20:29Speaker 1: I may know that Randy, especially given his take. All right,
- 20:33Speaker 1: there's a very strong take by Randy, a negative take.
- 20:38Speaker 1: He sees it as his agenda rather than art, pushing
- 20:41Speaker 1: the agenda rather than presenting great art. Four oh two, five, five, eight,
- 20:45Speaker 1: eleven to ten. Comment at kfab dot com or the
- 20:48Speaker 1: talkback Mike on the iHeartRadio app. Peyton, you reminded me
- 20:52Speaker 1: during the break, I did hear that Pete Ricketts add
- 20:55Speaker 1: about Dan Osburn driving in here Democrat Dan, Democrat Dan.
- 21:00Speaker 1: I've got in my head the country bluegrass tune. I
- 21:04Speaker 1: don't get the whole dan Osburn thing. Well, I get, okay,
- 21:09Speaker 1: I'm an independent, you know, and appeal to people that way.
- 21:13Speaker 1: And maybe you don't want people in the big third
- 21:15Speaker 1: thinking you're a Democrat, But for goodness sake, town hall
- 21:20Speaker 1: dot com had a story about Dan Osborne his operation
- 21:24Speaker 1: helping to recruit Graham Platner in Maine to run for
- 21:29Speaker 1: the Democrats. I mean, certainly in his money, as I
- 21:32Speaker 1: think Scott noted, you know, his money is support is
- 21:35Speaker 1: all Democrats. The Democrats ran a candidate to soak up
- 21:39Speaker 1: all the primary votes and then should drop out to
- 21:42Speaker 1: clear the way, clear the field for Osborne versus Rickets.
- 21:46Speaker 1: But all right, let's defer that for a minute because
- 21:48Speaker 1: we do have a few people who want to get
- 21:50Speaker 1: in on the odyssey. Brian, welcome to the show.
- 21:55Speaker 4: Thanks Chip. I saw Friday matinee at the Big Peter
- 21:59Speaker 4: in Lincoln, and I see it as the story of
- 22:04Speaker 4: a traumatized soldier and all the monsters he faces coming
- 22:09Speaker 4: home from the war.
- 22:11Speaker 1: And did you like it, Brian?
- 22:13Speaker 4: Oh, I thought it was great. Of course, being in
- 22:16Speaker 4: the big theater, it was kind of loud and rumbling,
- 22:19Speaker 4: but I enjoyed the big leather reclining seats and all that. Yeah,
- 22:24Speaker 4: I enjoyed it very much. I thought it was a
- 22:26Speaker 4: fantastic movie, and I thought my mattinee money was well
- 22:30Speaker 4: worth the stending.
- 22:32Speaker 1: All right, well, thank you very much, Brian. Well there's
- 22:34Speaker 1: a solid take from Brian on the positive side. On
- 22:36Speaker 1: the plus side, it really was Peyton. It seems like
- 22:41Speaker 1: it was a movie made for the big theater, made
- 22:43Speaker 1: for the big screen in the theater experience.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Brian is exactly right.
- 22:47Speaker 2: My seat was rumbling, you know, and this was not
- 22:49Speaker 2: a one of those roller coasters in the dark.
- 22:52Speaker 3: Now, the seat was rumbling. It was loud.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Okay, rumbling is the same. Turn to Brian. You know,
- 22:57Speaker 1: I think I recognized Brian's voice, and I just I'd
- 23:00Speaker 1: like to note that, uh, politics isn't everything in life.
- 23:04Speaker 1: We know we can rise above it and enjoy things.
- 23:09Speaker 1: But now let's find out what Harry thinks. Harry's next. Harry,
- 23:11Speaker 1: Welcome to the show.
- 23:14Speaker 5: Yes, good morning, Good morning. So what I They landed
- 23:21Speaker 5: on this island and the guys they couldn't speak their language,
- 23:28Speaker 5: but they were speaking modern Greek, which I understood, and
- 23:33Speaker 5: it was like an oxymoron. There were Greeks themselves, so
- 23:37Speaker 5: they were you know, That's what I fought. Took, as
- 23:41Speaker 5: you know, kind of kind of an awkward scene. I
- 23:47Speaker 5: guess if you didn't speak Greek and understand Greek, you wouldn't.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Know any better take, and no subtitles for it.
- 23:56Speaker 5: It might have been I guess I didn't observe that.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Much, all right. I just so you got tripped up
- 24:02Speaker 1: a little bit on that, Harry, you knew too much,
- 24:04Speaker 1: you know Greek? Did that sour the experience for you.
- 24:09Speaker 5: A little bit?
- 24:12Speaker 6: You know?
- 24:12Speaker 5: It just made me feel like they should have spoke
- 24:15Speaker 5: something else, Okay, made it. I don't know if that
- 24:20Speaker 5: makes any sense.
- 24:21Speaker 1: I guess all right, well, Harry, thanks so so Harry
- 24:24Speaker 1: had a little bit of a language gripe there. Four
- 24:28Speaker 1: oh two five five, eight eleven ten. Comment at kfab
- 24:31Speaker 1: dot com. Talkback Mike on the iHeart Radio app. I'm
- 24:35Speaker 1: kind of on the fence here, folks. I'll probably go
- 24:38Speaker 1: see it. I have to, well see, I have to
- 24:40Speaker 1: confess I'm kind of a curmudgeon on movies in general.
- 24:44Speaker 1: My wife can tell you that she's you know, she
- 24:47Speaker 1: used to want to try to drag me to movies,
- 24:49Speaker 1: and then she quit doing it because she said, is
- 24:52Speaker 1: there a movie made that you won't complain about? You
- 24:54Speaker 1: know to some degree by the time it's over. I
- 24:57Speaker 1: don't know. I am you know, I'm uh, And while
- 25:02Speaker 1: you're at it, get off my lawn, you know. I'm
- 25:04Speaker 1: I can be a very cranky boomer when it comes
- 25:07Speaker 1: to movies. But I think I'm willing to give this
- 25:11Speaker 1: one a try. Four oh two, five, five, eight eleven ten,
- 25:16Speaker 1: comment at kfab dot com or the talkback mic on
- 25:19Speaker 1: the iHeartRadio app before I go back to Dan Osborn.
- 25:22Speaker 1: Anything else on the email Peyton? No, all right, this
- 25:27Speaker 1: is what puzzles me about. No, I'm not a Democrat. Well,
- 25:32Speaker 1: which party will you caucus with? You know, Bernie Sanders
- 25:34Speaker 1: he's an independent. Actually he is not a Democrat, but
- 25:37Speaker 1: he caucuses with the Democrats. Which party will you caucus with? Now?
- 25:41Speaker 1: I neither one of them. I don't belong to either one.
- 25:43Speaker 1: But behind the scenes there's all this coordination with the
- 25:46Speaker 1: Democratic Party, which I'm not suggesting that it's sinister. I
- 25:51Speaker 1: just why isn't he transparent? Well, I guess I answered
- 25:55Speaker 1: that myself earlier. Uh. He wants to be competitive in
- 25:59Speaker 1: the third district, the big third, where being labeled a
- 26:04Speaker 1: Democrat could hurt I suppose, so he's going to great
- 26:09Speaker 1: lengths to avoid that label in ads and on the
- 26:13Speaker 1: ballot so that he would have a better chance of
- 26:16Speaker 1: winning votes in the third district. I guess. I guess
- 26:19Speaker 1: that's the reason. Somebody set me straight. If I'm wrong
- 26:22Speaker 1: or if I'm missing something, but he's gone to great
- 26:25Speaker 1: pains to distance himself from the Democratic Party even as
- 26:29Speaker 1: he coordinates with the Democratic Party. That blew my mind
- 26:33Speaker 1: when I saw the story about Osbourne and his team
- 26:38Speaker 1: pushing hard to get Graham Platner to run in Maine,
- 26:43Speaker 1: and you know, to get the right kind of people
- 26:45Speaker 1: running for office, and you know we're going to go
- 26:47Speaker 1: and bring our agenda to Washington, d C. So anyway,
- 26:53Speaker 1: I thought the ad, I thought that, I know Scott
- 26:55Speaker 1: said that the listener just really detested the ad. I
- 26:58Speaker 1: thought it was pretty well done, and I thought it
- 27:00Speaker 1: was clever. Maybe I wouldn't have Maybe I wouldn't have
- 27:04Speaker 1: if it was lampooning Pete Ricketts, the Republican candidate in
- 27:08Speaker 1: the race. I don't know. It depends on if they
- 27:09Speaker 1: were fair shots or cheap shots. And I don't know.
- 27:13Speaker 1: I think it's fair to point out all the collaboration
- 27:16Speaker 1: and partnership with Democrats that Osburn has done ballot wise
- 27:22Speaker 1: and financially, and let's just get it all on the
- 27:26Speaker 1: table and let people make their decisions. I don't know.
- 27:29Speaker 1: I keep hearing the signs are out the signs are out.
- 27:32Speaker 1: It's not just a blue dot, it's the blue wave.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Have you seen him? You know, the blue dot styled
- 27:38Speaker 1: as a wave that I don't know. Democrats seem pretty
- 27:45Speaker 1: confident going into this session. I can only guess it's
- 27:49Speaker 1: because of the third district, where Osborne wants to preserve
- 27:53Speaker 1: this facade of independence. I'm an independent, I am not
- 27:57Speaker 1: a Democrat.
- 27:58Speaker 2: Well, as far as it goes a little footnote for
- 28:00Speaker 2: Dan Osborne, I believe last week he was endorsed by
- 28:06Speaker 2: Nebraska Farm Pack and I believe that is the as
- 28:12Speaker 2: Jim Rose might have explained it. It's not the premier
- 28:14Speaker 2: of farmers union in the state of Nebraska, but it
- 28:17Speaker 2: is a close second. And I thought, well, as if
- 28:21Speaker 2: he's really trying to make a go for that third district,
- 28:25Speaker 2: that is a substantial step.
- 28:28Speaker 1: That could be huge. I'll have to go look that
- 28:31Speaker 1: one up myself. I know there's a Nebraska's Nebraska Farmers Union,
- 28:36Speaker 1: which lines up on the left. The Nebraska Farm Bureau
- 28:40Speaker 1: usually lines up on the right. Not super ideological, but
- 28:46Speaker 1: tends toward the right center right anyway. And then now
- 28:52Speaker 1: the Nebraska Farm Pack is a player as well. All right,
- 28:59Speaker 1: the well speaking of election prospects. So last week in Arizona,
- 29:04Speaker 1: Trump endorsed candidates did well, Arizona swing state and so forth.
- 29:09Speaker 1: And I just I'm not buying what people are selling,
- 29:15Speaker 1: even some Republicans locally. I have heard Republicans see I think.
- 29:22Speaker 1: I put out a video and it's the audio of
- 29:24Speaker 1: it is my first podcast in this run of check
- 29:27Speaker 1: with Chip on Kfab back in March, and I think
- 29:30Speaker 1: it's aged pretty well. I said, the timing's right, the
- 29:33Speaker 1: mojo's right. The Democratic Party has moved so far to
- 29:36Speaker 1: the left that there's a opportunity to turn the blue
- 29:40Speaker 1: dot red. That's my whole premise. And but I know
- 29:47Speaker 1: I've had I've had Republicans say, oh, no, brinker Harding's
- 29:51Speaker 1: a dead man walking now, he's got no shot. Nah,
- 29:54Speaker 1: Denise Powell's gonna win whoever Wan Kavanaugh or Powell, but Powell,
- 29:59Speaker 1: she's gonna get the national Democratic support and Democratic money.
- 30:03Speaker 1: They're gonna swamp this district with money and ads. And
- 30:06Speaker 1: her ads were very good in the spring. I disagreed
- 30:09Speaker 1: with the content, but they were well done. And that's
- 30:13Speaker 1: the reason Brett Lindstrom dropped out of that race. And
- 30:17Speaker 1: he thought he had a better chance running as an
- 30:19Speaker 1: independent for governor than he did running as a Republican
- 30:25Speaker 1: for Congress in the second district. So I'm not buying it.
- 30:32Speaker 1: I'm not having it. I do believe Denise Powell is
- 30:37Speaker 1: the same kind of Democrat who won in New York
- 30:40Speaker 1: and in Seattle, and that's why there's so much national
- 30:43Speaker 1: support and money for her. But this is not New
- 30:46Speaker 1: York or Seattle. All right, hold that thought and let's
- 30:49Speaker 1: go to Sheila online one. I think she wants to
- 30:51Speaker 1: get in on this ad. Sheila, welcome to the show.
- 30:55Speaker 6: Hi, thank you.
- 30:57Speaker 7: I just wanted to say. I know someone else called
- 30:59Speaker 7: her earlier and said they didn't like the ad. I
- 31:02Speaker 7: think the ad is hysterical.
- 31:04Speaker 6: I loved it.
- 31:06Speaker 1: I thought it was funny. Yeah, I thought it was
- 31:08Speaker 1: well done. Thought it was entertaining.
- 31:10Speaker 8: Do you do too?
- 31:11Speaker 7: And you know I'm a third district person here.
- 31:15Speaker 1: Where are you calling from, Sheila.
- 31:18Speaker 7: I'm calling from Alliance, Nebraska.
- 31:20Speaker 1: A fantastic So you're out in the big third. How
- 31:23Speaker 1: does how does the race look to you? Does Osburne
- 31:25Speaker 1: have a shot to upset Pete Ricketts?
- 31:29Speaker 7: I certainly hope not.
- 31:32Speaker 1: See I think I think We'll go ahead.
- 31:37Speaker 7: The man is dishonest. You know when he lied to
- 31:40Speaker 7: me to my face, then I will never trust anybody
- 31:44Speaker 7: who lies again.
- 31:45Speaker 1: Wait wait, wait, wait, wait, are you talking about Dan Osborne?
- 31:49Speaker 7: I am talking about Dan Osborne.
- 31:50Speaker 1: What did you meet him at a candidate of d
- 31:52Speaker 1: or something? You mean? Yes, okay, And I'm just going
- 31:56Speaker 1: to soften it and.
- 31:57Speaker 7: Say that's rather small venue. I'm never it's a previous election.
- 32:02Speaker 1: Okay. Oh, I see when he ran againsteb Fisher. And
- 32:04Speaker 1: I'm not questioning your sincerity, Sheila, or your integrity. I'm
- 32:09Speaker 1: just going to call it an alleged lie, just to
- 32:11Speaker 1: kind of soften it a little bit. What is it
- 32:13Speaker 1: that he said to you that you thought was false?
- 32:17Speaker 7: That he was not in favor of gun control?
- 32:21Speaker 1: Okay? All right?
- 32:22Speaker 7: And we ended up and it ended up being a
- 32:26Speaker 7: very uncomfortable situation. I think I was the only Republican
- 32:30Speaker 7: in the room.
- 32:31Speaker 1: Oh I see, okay, Well, see my premise is I
- 32:35Speaker 1: think dan Osborne you're the kind of person he has
- 32:37Speaker 1: in mind. He does not want you thinking of him
- 32:40Speaker 1: as a Democrat out there in the big third. I
- 32:42Speaker 1: think that's why he's going to such great pains to
- 32:45Speaker 1: keep it behind the scenes and publicly front facing be
- 32:50Speaker 1: an independent. But I don't think that's going to work
- 32:52Speaker 1: with you, Sheila.
- 32:55Speaker 7: Well, I have a question for you. I do not
- 32:58Speaker 7: understand how union people can support him after he's tost
- 33:04Speaker 7: them their jobs and omaha at Kelloggs.
- 33:07Speaker 1: You mean.
- 33:09Speaker 9: Yes, sir?
- 33:09Speaker 1: All right, well, Sheela, thank you very much. We got
- 33:11Speaker 1: to take another break up. I'll put that right out
- 33:13Speaker 1: there for KFAB nation. If you're a union member and
- 33:15Speaker 1: you're supporting Dan Osborne, tell us why because some think
- 33:18Speaker 1: that he was counterproductive in his role at Kellogg's. In
- 33:24Speaker 1: the meantime, I just I love this quirky tune so much.
- 33:28Speaker 1: Mungo Jerry. Look, it may well hit one hundred today.
- 33:32Speaker 1: All right, find some water, find a lake, find a pool,
- 33:36Speaker 1: find a splash, pat get wet, cool off, have fun,
- 33:40Speaker 1: enjoy summertime in Nebraska. Like Mungo Jerry, I'm chip backxwell
- 33:45Speaker 1: in for Jean Stothard. It's the KFAB comment line. Peyton
- 33:48Speaker 1: Hilo's at the controls on news radio eleven to ten
- 33:51Speaker 1: KFAB speaking of long cool women, Geene Stothard. We'll be
- 33:55Speaker 1: back at the mic tomorrow. Peyton Hilock as always producer
- 34:00Speaker 1: extraordinary at the controls on the KFAB comment line on
- 34:04Speaker 1: news radio eleven to ten KFAB, I believe we're already
- 34:07Speaker 1: in the final segment of this sprint all right, the odyssey,
- 34:10Speaker 1: Uh the Dan Osborne ad cheap shot or fair shot?
- 34:16Speaker 1: And uh, I don't know if I'm ever going to
- 34:18Speaker 1: get back to the Arizona primary and what that might
- 34:20Speaker 1: mean for our primary. But let's find out what Travis
- 34:23Speaker 1: is thinking. He's online one, Travis, welcome to the show.
- 34:27Speaker 6: Hey, Chip, I like your program.
- 34:29Speaker 1: Thank you. Your name and voice sound familiar. Travis. I
- 34:32Speaker 1: think I recognize you. I I'm out of jail, so congratulations. Okay,
- 34:41Speaker 1: what's on your mind?
- 34:43Speaker 6: But between you and Gene, now, this has been I mean,
- 34:46Speaker 6: I think this program is gonna take over a KFAB.
- 34:48Speaker 6: But that's not why.
- 34:49Speaker 1: I'm okay, everybody loves the backup quarterback.
- 34:53Speaker 6: Yeah, okay, yeah, don't tell don't tell Chris.
- 34:56Speaker 1: That, Okay, I saw him.
- 34:59Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 35:01Speaker 6: My comment is, you know that the Osborne campaign, they're
- 35:05Speaker 6: really kind of, you know, banging on the Ricketts family
- 35:09Speaker 6: or Pete Ricketts were using his own money for his campaign.
- 35:14Speaker 6: I don't see that as a name. I don't see
- 35:16Speaker 6: that as a negative thing. I mean, I'd rather have
- 35:18Speaker 6: someone use their own money than have outside influencers that
- 35:22Speaker 6: have an agenda, you know, support your campaign fan fund. Yeah,
- 35:27Speaker 6: I mean, you know, in an a roundabout way, he's
- 35:31Speaker 6: he's uh, he's putting down capitalism because you know, the
- 35:35Speaker 6: ricks family has been successful and uh, you know what
- 35:39Speaker 6: the opposite of capitalism is is you know what we're
- 35:42Speaker 6: seeing in New York and do we want to go
- 35:45Speaker 6: down that road? Do the Democrats want to go down
- 35:47Speaker 6: that road?
- 35:48Speaker 1: Yeah? I Uh, That's where I think Osborne and the
- 35:52Speaker 1: Democrats maybe overplay it. Uh. Pete Ricketts, his daddy pays
- 35:56Speaker 1: for everything. He's a rich guy. He's a people have
- 36:00Speaker 1: shown they don't mind. I don't mind. I'm Joe middle class.
- 36:03Speaker 1: I don't envy or resent Donald Trump at all. And
- 36:06Speaker 1: I know Donald Trump doesn't stay at the you know,
- 36:10Speaker 1: he doesn't stay at the holiday.
- 36:12Speaker 2: I am.
- 36:14Speaker 1: Well, maybe it's hair okay, Travis, But that doesn't bother
- 36:17Speaker 1: me because I feel like he respects me and cares
- 36:20Speaker 1: about me more than a lot of these other elitist politicians.
- 36:24Speaker 1: Maybe I'm a fool, Maybe I'm naive. Maybe he's playing me.
- 36:27Speaker 1: I don't know, but I keep seeing him do things
- 36:30Speaker 1: that I and other Republicans have wanted done for a
- 36:33Speaker 1: decade or more and he delivers, you know, and so
- 36:36Speaker 1: uh that the rich thing, the envy thing, I don't
- 36:39Speaker 1: think that plays well. So I think you're onto something there, Travis, Ay,
- 36:44Speaker 1: thank you for your take. I want to get to
- 36:47Speaker 1: Rob next. I think he's on the other side of this. Rob.
- 36:50Speaker 1: Welcome to the show.
- 36:54Speaker 8: Hey, pretty good to hear you.
- 36:56Speaker 1: Chip Fame listener. Okay, maybe Hall of Fame listener, go the.
- 37:01Speaker 8: One and only.
- 37:02Speaker 9: You know I I would tell you something. I do
- 37:04Speaker 9: not care for the Pete Ricketts at Oh. It's you know.
- 37:09Speaker 9: I don't know if it's the music or the genre.
- 37:13Speaker 9: First off, it kind of reminds.
- 37:14Speaker 1: Me you're not a bluegrass bigot? Are you this? I'm
- 37:18Speaker 1: sorry I talked over here back.
- 37:20Speaker 9: In twenty fourteen, you know, with the folks don't black
- 37:24Speaker 9: bat Pete. That's just not my cup of team. But
- 37:28Speaker 9: I will tell you maybe we can go back to
- 37:30Speaker 9: the the lormong Low for City Council polka way back
- 37:33Speaker 9: twenty something.
- 37:34Speaker 1: I heard a reference to that driving in lormong Low.
- 37:38Speaker 1: But I'm sure that's for the archives somewhere.
- 37:41Speaker 8: Yeah, but I have I have no use for that.
- 37:44Speaker 8: I did think that the guy calling in talking about
- 37:46Speaker 8: Greek I thought that was Chuck Grassley calling in.
- 37:50Speaker 1: That's I think Chuck Grassley was there for the Trojan War. Yeah, yeah,
- 37:57Speaker 1: all right, thank you.
- 37:58Speaker 8: But absolutely this envy of this, this this this envy
- 38:04Speaker 8: of you know, Pete Rackett. Pete Rickets was born with
- 38:07Speaker 8: a silver spoon. No, no, he was not. His father
- 38:11Speaker 8: made some very good business decisions and has what he
- 38:15Speaker 8: has now because of it.
- 38:16Speaker 9: Good.
- 38:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm with you on that one, Rob, Thank you. Uh,
- 38:21Speaker 1: we can squeeze in a few more four oh two, five,
- 38:23Speaker 1: five eleven to ten comment at kvabe dot com and
- 38:25Speaker 1: the talk back Mike on the iHeartRadio app. You know,
- 38:28Speaker 1: Travis reminded me of something because I've heard Pete Rickets
- 38:32Speaker 1: has said this publicly. He said, you know, when I
- 38:34Speaker 1: first ran against Ben Nelson. Uh, in fact, Peyton has
- 38:38Speaker 1: a clip. We might we might squeeze in here before
- 38:40Speaker 1: we're done. In that two thousand and six it was
- 38:43Speaker 1: Pete Ricketts first for a into electoral politics and he
- 38:47Speaker 1: got creamed by Nelson and he self funded that. The
- 38:52Speaker 1: next time he went out you know, when he uh
- 38:54Speaker 1: uh started running for governor, he explained to people, I
- 38:58Speaker 1: am not going to sell fund I've put some of
- 39:01Speaker 1: my funds into this, but I'm not going to self
- 39:03Speaker 1: fund this campaign because I learned it's kind of a
- 39:08Speaker 1: sales job and to go out there. You know, people decry, oh,
- 39:12Speaker 1: money in politics, money and politics, but it's a good screen.
- 39:15Speaker 1: It's a good filter when you have to go out
- 39:17Speaker 1: there and sell your ideas, sell your agenda to people,
- 39:22Speaker 1: make a sale, convince them that you've got the best plan,
- 39:26Speaker 1: and get them to be even if it's fifty dollars,
- 39:28Speaker 1: you know, one hundred dollars, fifty dollars, if they invest
- 39:33Speaker 1: in you, first of all, it forces you to work it,
- 39:35Speaker 1: to get out there and prove to people that you're
- 39:38Speaker 1: the right candidate. And secondly, that person is a lot
- 39:42Speaker 1: more likely to vote for you, even if it's twenty
- 39:45Speaker 1: five bucks. If that person has made any kind of
- 39:48Speaker 1: investment at all in you, that person is a lot
- 39:52Speaker 1: less likely to be complacent. And I just sit this
- 39:57Speaker 1: one out. No, No, you went out there, you proved
- 39:59Speaker 1: yoursel health, the person invested in you. It's actually it
- 40:03Speaker 1: can be a healthy dynamic in politics, and so he said,
- 40:07Speaker 1: ever since then he has made well I know Trump
- 40:10Speaker 1: did that too. He people, Well he's he's a billionaire billionaire.
- 40:15Speaker 1: He could just self funded. No, he's gone out and
- 40:17Speaker 1: done fundraising.
- 40:19Speaker 2: Uh.
- 40:19Speaker 1: And there is that dynamic to it. Do we have
- 40:24Speaker 1: time or not for that?
- 40:26Speaker 3: Go ahead, Let's play a little nugget of it here.
- 40:28Speaker 1: All right. This is from two thousand and six. I'm
- 40:31Speaker 1: from the western town in Nebraska, Ben Nelson.
- 40:37Speaker 3: Don't know why I left so long ago.
- 40:42Speaker 2: All I know is this western town in Nebraska.
- 40:49Speaker 4: Lives in my heart and my soul grew.
- 40:54Speaker 1: Wow. So that's not Ai. That's carrying a tube. All right,
- 40:59Speaker 1: Well that dam Now I'm thinking a lor mong low.
- 41:02Speaker 1: I'm I'm Dick. Taketci takachie. Uh oh are we done?
- 41:08Speaker 1: We're done? That song means we're done.
- 41:11Speaker 5: Uh.
- 41:11Speaker 1: Normally I like to close with can you feel It?
- 41:13Speaker 1: But I like this tune so much because I'm married
- 41:16Speaker 1: a long, cool woman in a black dress, and she
- 41:18Speaker 1: does have it all all right? Uh, Hey, cool off,
- 41:22Speaker 1: enjoy the summertime. That's your kfab comment line. I'm Chip Maxwell,
- 41:26Speaker 1: Thank you as always, Peyton, High luck for your expertise
- 41:29Speaker 1: Jean stuff. They'll be back of the Mike tomorrow. Clay
