Speaker 2: to your calls and texts too. Welcome to the show
2:30
Speaker 2: now though the director of the Kenawh County Emergency Ambulus Authority,
2:34
Speaker 2: Lance Wheeler, Good morning, sir, Welcome to the show.
2:36
Speaker 4: Good morning Dave, Thanks for having me on.
2:37
Speaker 2: I was doing the little video that I do prior
2:41
Speaker 2: on social media, prior to the show, telling people what's
2:43
Speaker 2: coming up and on the first two takes, and I
2:46
Speaker 2: usually do it in one take. You can tell by
2:48
Speaker 2: looking at it. I don't put a lot of work
2:49
Speaker 2: into it and first two takes, I said, Knawa County
2:52
Speaker 2: Commissioner Lance Wheeler. So you will have to forgive me
2:55
Speaker 2: during this interview if I refer to you as Commissioner Wheeler.
2:57
Speaker 5: Well, theyve I wear many hats, but whatever hat on
2:59
Speaker 5: wearing today, I'm always excited to be on a Dave
3:01
Speaker 5: Allen show.
3:02
Speaker 2: Well, I appreciate you being here.
3:04
Speaker 6: All right.
3:04
Speaker 2: So first, well, a month or so on the job.
3:07
Speaker 2: How's it been so far?
3:08
Speaker 4: I think we're doing great.
3:09
Speaker 6: You know.
3:09
Speaker 5: We've been working really hard, myself and our staff, the
3:12
Speaker 5: leadership team, all the employees, working to make changes, to
3:18
Speaker 5: look at the budget to find a balanced budget by
3:20
Speaker 5: the end of the year, which is our goal, and
3:22
Speaker 5: we've made huge strips. But one of the things that
3:24
Speaker 5: I've been pushing is we need to make sure that
3:27
Speaker 5: we're providing excellent quality care here in Kannall County. And
3:30
Speaker 5: the only way to do that is having qualified, exceptional
3:34
Speaker 5: employees working at KCA. And so that's something that we're
3:37
Speaker 5: working on right now, is looking for employees that want
3:40
Speaker 5: to come and work at the premier EMS agency in
3:44
Speaker 5: the state of West Virginia, at the Kennell County Emergency
3:46
Speaker 5: AMS authority, and we're getting a lot of applicants, a
3:49
Speaker 5: lot of people who used to work at kca that
3:51
Speaker 5: want to come back because they've heard of the culture
3:53
Speaker 5: that we're implementing at the AKCAA. They want to come
3:57
Speaker 5: back because they care about their community, the people, their family,
4:00
Speaker 5: their neighbors, the citizens of Kannall County. And we're getting
4:03
Speaker 5: a lot of applicants. But we're going to continue to
4:05
Speaker 5: hire because we're investing in the future of EMS in
4:08
Speaker 5: Kanall County at KCAA. It's exciting times and I think
4:12
Speaker 5: what we're going to be able to see is more
4:14
Speaker 5: ambulances out on the road because we have more EMTs
4:17
Speaker 5: and paramedics doing exceptional jobs here at the in Kannall County.
4:22
Speaker 2: You talk about that culture that you're trying to instill there,
4:25
Speaker 2: and again you've been on on the job there since
4:27
Speaker 2: July first. Talked about what that what you envisioned for
4:30
Speaker 2: that culture that you're striving towards.
4:31
Speaker 5: Well, the first thing that I've said to the employees
4:34
Speaker 5: in my all staff email that I sent was we're
4:36
Speaker 5: going to have transparency. We're going to have accountability, not
4:39
Speaker 5: just from the leadership. You know, it starts at the top,
4:41
Speaker 5: but it's going to go all the way out into
4:43
Speaker 5: the field to our EMTs, our paramedics, our evos, all
4:46
Speaker 5: the way into our logistics, our fleet services, our billing department.
4:51
Speaker 5: We're going to have a mission, a new mission that
4:54
Speaker 5: I am starting on. Our mission is to heal and
4:57
Speaker 5: save lives. Now, Dave, that's a short statement, easy to remember, right,
5:01
Speaker 5: And so when we tell this over and over again
5:03
Speaker 5: and we keep hammering we are here to heal and
5:06
Speaker 5: save lives, every employee is going to remember that statement
5:10
Speaker 5: when they go out into the field with every action
5:12
Speaker 5: that they're going to be in taking as a CACAA employee,
5:15
Speaker 5: as a provider of Kennall County and EMS, and they're
5:18
Speaker 5: going to remember that statement in every action they're going
5:20
Speaker 5: to take. They're going to remember, is this action I'm
5:22
Speaker 5: doing healing and saving a life? And if it is,
5:25
Speaker 5: then I know Executive Director Lance Wheeler, Jason Surgent, Deputy Director,
5:29
Speaker 5: and the entire leadership approves.
5:32
Speaker 2: You were talking about wanting to do some hiring and
5:34
Speaker 2: recruiting people. What are you looking for?
5:37
Speaker 5: Look, we need everything. When it comes to our EMTs
5:40
Speaker 5: and paramedics. We are short staff. That is the transparent
5:43
Speaker 5: honesty going on right now. I want more trucks out there,
5:46
Speaker 5: not only because when an emergency happens in Kennall County,
5:49
Speaker 5: which Dave you may know, is nine hundred and eleven
5:52
Speaker 5: square miles in Kennall County, that's a large area for
5:56
Speaker 5: us to cover, especially some of these rural areas where
5:58
Speaker 5: we have to go out in the back will and
6:01
Speaker 5: around the bins. It ain't all downtown Charleston, no, And
6:04
Speaker 5: these are emergencies that seconds matter. Whether it's a stroke call,
6:09
Speaker 5: whether it's a cardiac arrest, whatever it might be, we
6:12
Speaker 5: need to get there quickly. So we have to make
6:14
Speaker 5: sure that we're covering the entire Conall County and we
6:17
Speaker 5: have ambulances stationed everywhere and making sure that when that
6:20
Speaker 5: call comes in, there is an ambulance ready and close
6:23
Speaker 5: by to get to you. But to do that, we
6:25
Speaker 5: have to invest, and investing looks like buying more ambulances,
6:29
Speaker 5: getting more supplies, and getting more employees to work at KCA,
6:33
Speaker 5: which is a big push that I have been starting
6:36
Speaker 5: in the last thirty days of my start date.
6:39
Speaker 2: What's the hiring process looking like right now? I mean
6:41
Speaker 2: to people, if they're interested in working for you. Just
6:43
Speaker 2: go to your website. What do people need to do well?
6:46
Speaker 5: I would say that what we're looking for is paramedics
6:49
Speaker 5: and EMTs that are already credentialed, you know, already certified,
6:53
Speaker 5: ready to work today. We want you whether you want
6:55
Speaker 5: to start full time or maybe you're just looking for
6:57
Speaker 5: an additional part time job to bring a little extra
6:59
Speaker 5: bush to the table for the family, we want you
7:03
Speaker 5: to apply and come talk with us and see if
7:05
Speaker 5: there's an opportunity for you to come work at KCA.
7:08
Speaker 5: We're also looking for new EMTs.
7:11
Speaker 7: Dave.
7:11
Speaker 4: Let's say that you are, you know, maybe you're.
7:14
Speaker 5: Coming out of you know, high school in May, and
7:17
Speaker 5: you're not sure what you want to do, but you
7:19
Speaker 5: really want to just get back to your community and
7:20
Speaker 5: you want to find a career that you're proud of.
7:22
Speaker 5: We want you to come to our EMT school now.
7:25
Speaker 5: We'll give you classes to get you to the point
7:28
Speaker 5: to be able to take the EMT course and be
7:30
Speaker 5: able to become an EMT working at KCA. You know,
7:34
Speaker 5: that's where it starts, is getting these younger people or
7:38
Speaker 5: even older individuals that are interested in getting into a
7:40
Speaker 5: new field, getting them to become an EMT, getting them
7:43
Speaker 5: started at KCA and allowing them to grow, maybe become
7:46
Speaker 5: a paramedic, maybe get into leadership, whatever you might want
7:48
Speaker 5: to do. We want to be open and transparent with everyone,
7:52
Speaker 5: and we want to have people coming to us and
7:54
Speaker 5: applying at KCA if they want to become an EMT.
7:57
Speaker 4: Now, how do you do that? Well, you can call
7:59
Speaker 4: our office.
8:00
Speaker 5: You can go on Facebook, KCAA on Facebook on social media.
8:04
Speaker 5: You can go to our website KCAA dot org. You
8:08
Speaker 5: can apply there and we're actually having applications right now.
8:12
Speaker 5: The deadline is tomorrow. We are looking for the EMT
8:15
Speaker 5: Academy tomorrow. If you want to get in our EMT
8:18
Speaker 5: Academy that starts in September, apply by tomorrow. We'll get
8:22
Speaker 5: your application and we'll get you ready and you can
8:24
Speaker 5: come take the course and become an EMT at KCAA.
8:27
Speaker 2: One of the things Lance you were tasked with when
8:29
Speaker 2: you took over was to try to fix an organization
8:32
Speaker 2: that was way in depth. We've talked about the personnel,
8:35
Speaker 2: but now let's talk about the financial aspect of how's
8:38
Speaker 2: that going well.
8:39
Speaker 5: I think we've been making large strides as executive director
8:43
Speaker 5: and let me say first that this isn't a issue
8:46
Speaker 5: that is only a leadership issue, right. This is something
8:49
Speaker 5: that we all have to work together. I can't go
8:51
Speaker 5: in there as one person and find every little dollar
8:54
Speaker 5: that we can save.
8:54
Speaker 4: I wish I could. It takes a team effort.
8:56
Speaker 5: And so day one I told the staff that we're
8:59
Speaker 5: going to all be looking for opportunities to save money
9:02
Speaker 5: in this fiscal budget moving forward. That's not cutting corners,
9:06
Speaker 5: that's not reducing essential services on those response times I
9:09
Speaker 5: talked about earlier. That's finding real, verified savings in this
9:13
Speaker 5: budget that we can save on, whether it's descriptions to
9:15
Speaker 5: online services, whether it's agreements that we haven't used since
9:19
Speaker 5: twenty nineteen and terminating those agreements because we've been paying
9:23
Speaker 5: them for no reason at all. And so this staff
9:25
Speaker 5: really took this on as a team effort, and I
9:28
Speaker 5: made sure that in our conference room that we have
9:30
Speaker 5: our what I call morning huddle meetings. I made sure
9:33
Speaker 5: that we put up a display that has the exact
9:36
Speaker 5: number that we add up on how much we've saved
9:39
Speaker 5: KCA for this fiscal budget, and together as a team,
9:42
Speaker 5: we've saved nearly a quarter million dollars. To be exact,
9:46
Speaker 5: I've got the number right here for you, Dave. It
9:48
Speaker 5: is two hundred and forty three thousand, two hundred and
9:51
Speaker 5: ninety two dollars and seventy seven cents in this fiscal
9:54
Speaker 5: budget alone. And that's within just thirty days of me
9:57
Speaker 5: coming on. I think you give us time working to
10:00
Speaker 5: we're going to have that balance budget like we promised
10:02
Speaker 5: at the end of the fiscal year next year in July.
10:04
Speaker 2: At a text here, it says, as a data entry
10:07
Speaker 2: billing process or for an insurance company, would you consider
10:09
Speaker 2: hiring for work from home a few days a week
10:12
Speaker 2: as a second income for example.
10:13
Speaker 5: I'm interested in listening to anyone who wants to come
10:16
Speaker 5: work at KCA and have that opportunity if maybe them
10:19
Speaker 5: being able to bring something to us that is going
10:22
Speaker 5: to either be cost savings, generate more revenue, or be
10:26
Speaker 5: a provider out in the field. If you're interested in
10:28
Speaker 5: working at KCA in whatever field that you think you
10:30
Speaker 5: can bring that opportunity to us, I'm willing to listen
10:33
Speaker 5: to you and see if there's an opportunity for you
10:35
Speaker 5: to fit in.
10:35
Speaker 2: All right, so they should they just contact the office,
10:37
Speaker 2: as you said, or the website or Facebook or any
10:39
Speaker 2: of those.
10:39
Speaker 5: Absolutely, they can always call our phone number three oh
10:41
Speaker 5: four three four to two one one zero seven and
10:45
Speaker 5: talk to the operator there and they'll get you into
10:48
Speaker 5: our HR department and we'll get that process started.
10:51
Speaker 2: Nine eighteen, we're talking to Lance Wheeler Dave Allen Show
10:53
Speaker 2: on five eighty line. Brought to you in parted by

Speaker 2: Pinnacle Corp dot net. Helping you understand your environment because
11:09
Speaker 2: what you don't know can hurt you. I want to
11:11
Speaker 2: talk about some of the trainings for the community that
11:13
Speaker 2: we're talking about, not necessarily for your employees, but I
11:17
Speaker 2: mean CPR and things that nature. Talk about some of
11:19
Speaker 2: those trainings from the community outreach.
11:21
Speaker 5: Well, Dave, it's been very important to me since day one.
11:23
Speaker 5: We are a public entity, right we are created by
11:27
Speaker 5: the County Commission here in Kennall County. We do collect
11:31
Speaker 5: tax dollars through the Safety Levey, which we're very proud
11:34
Speaker 5: that that voters have been able to give that opportunity,
11:36
Speaker 5: so we can provide the service of KCA that we do,
11:39
Speaker 5: but we also know that we need to give back
11:41
Speaker 5: to the public. It's more than just now on one calls.
11:43
Speaker 5: It's something that we can use our skill sets to
11:45
Speaker 5: give back, and so one of the things that we've
11:47
Speaker 5: done is a CPR class that we're going to be
11:49
Speaker 5: offering once a month. Anybody who's interested in learning from
11:53
Speaker 5: our education team, our paramedics how to give proper CPR
11:56
Speaker 5: to an individual who needs it most can come and
11:59
Speaker 5: learn from us. You can get your CPR card and listen.
12:02
Speaker 5: This is something that you may have to use at
12:05
Speaker 5: a very moment's notice for a family member, for a neighbor,
12:09
Speaker 5: maybe even a stranger out in the public. But having
12:12
Speaker 5: that CPR for an individual in cardiac arrest is crucial
12:16
Speaker 5: to them getting the recovery they need by the time
12:19
Speaker 5: to get to the hospital. We have a saying now
12:21
Speaker 5: at KCA, treatment for a patient doesn't start at the hospital.
12:26
Speaker 5: It starts when they need it most. And when somebody's
12:28
Speaker 5: in cardiac arrest, whether it's at a football game, whether
12:30
Speaker 5: it's at a barbecue, whether they're just walking down the
12:33
Speaker 5: street and they have that instant occur. Having somebody close
12:37
Speaker 5: by that knows CPR is important. So we want to
12:39
Speaker 5: make sure that we're giving those teachings out to the
12:42
Speaker 5: public so everybody is taught and knows how to give
12:46
Speaker 5: proper CPR. And we're going to do this once a month.
12:50
Speaker 5: We're actually gonna have one tonight, Dave, and so we
12:53
Speaker 5: accept walk ins. You can come to our office which
12:55
Speaker 5: is at six oh one Brook Street right here in Charleston,
12:58
Speaker 5: and we usually charge fifty dollars. That's kind of the
13:02
Speaker 5: pay for our employees because it's you know, after hours.
13:05
Speaker 4: But let me tell you something, Dave, because you.
13:07
Speaker 5: Are such a first responder guy, you have first responders
13:11
Speaker 5: come on here, all the agencies come on here and
13:13
Speaker 5: be able to give our talks out to the public.
13:16
Speaker 5: I want to say that anyone that comes tonight at
13:18
Speaker 5: five o'clock at KCA to take a CPR class, if
13:21
Speaker 5: they mentioned that Dave Allen sent them.
13:23
Speaker 4: Do you get to take the CPR class for free? Okay?
13:26
Speaker 2: And then you're gonna send me a bill for it?
13:27
Speaker 4: Does that right? No, we will cover that cost.
13:30
Speaker 2: So you got a free CPR class to see what
13:32
Speaker 2: time is it story at five o'clock. You just got
13:34
Speaker 2: to say that that you heard us talking about on
13:36
Speaker 2: the radio.
13:37
Speaker 5: Absolutely all you got to do is say, Dave Allen
13:39
Speaker 5: sent me, and we'll teach you CPR for free, no
13:41
Speaker 5: prech' that's to your listeners, because again, Dave, you have
13:45
Speaker 5: always been there for the first responders. You've given us
13:47
Speaker 5: a microphone so we can speak to the people that
13:50
Speaker 5: we serve. And because of that, if you go tonight
13:53
Speaker 5: at KCAA and you want to learn how to give
13:56
Speaker 5: CPR properly, tell them Dave Allen sent you and we
13:59
Speaker 5: won't try.
14:00
Speaker 2: Don all right, Lance Wheeler, It's always a pleasure to
14:02
Speaker 2: have you on the show. We'll have you on again
14:04
Speaker 2: real soon. Man, Thanks a lot, Dave, thanks for having me,
14:06
Speaker 2: all right, hanging out with me here just one second.
14:07
Speaker 2: Nine twenty one. The nineteenth annual one oh seven three
14:09
Speaker 2: to Beat Backpack Attack coming back next Wednesday on our
14:12
Speaker 2: parking not eleven eleven at Virginia STREETDA Charleston. Lineup starts
14:15
Speaker 2: at three thirty giveaways We'll start at four to thirty.
14:17
Speaker 2: Over three hundred backpacks will be given away. Kids must
14:20
Speaker 2: be present to win the backpacks presented by Selango Law
14:22
Speaker 2: in conjunction with a lot of other community partners. Too
14:25
Speaker 2: many to mention right now, but we got all the
14:27
Speaker 2: information available on our social media and our websites as well.
14:30
Speaker 2: Looking forward to seeing everybody next Wednesday. We're going to
14:32
Speaker 2: talk about the Marshall University Quarterback Club of Charleston's annual
14:35
Speaker 2: Paint the Capital City Green events later this month. But
14:38

17:51
Speaker 2: us to talk about it. Good morning, sir, welcome to
17:52
Speaker 2: the show.
17:53
Speaker 6: Good to be here.
17:53
Speaker 2: Thank you for being here. You know you were telling
17:55
Speaker 2: you and I were talking off the air. I saw
17:56
Speaker 2: a pretty wicked looking storm that rolled onto the boulevard
18:00
Speaker 2: yesterday evening during the setup. Aaron Wood, our friend from
18:03
Speaker 2: Quantum Party Rentals, posted it and I shared it don
18:05
Speaker 2: Dave Allen Radio on the Facebook. I hope we see
18:08
Speaker 2: nothing like that once the events get started.
18:11
Speaker 13: Yeah, well, I'm glad we got it out of our
18:13
Speaker 13: system right, So we had enough rain yesterday to last
18:16
Speaker 13: the rest of the week.
18:18
Speaker 2: I mean, and like I told you, today's valley absolutely nothing.
18:21
Speaker 6: It's amazing it is right now.
18:22
Speaker 2: Even talking to one of our coworkers who lives in St. Albans,
18:25
Speaker 2: they hardly got anything yesterday as well. So we'll make
18:28
Speaker 2: sure that meteorologist Brian Hughes knows it's done.
18:31
Speaker 6: It's done.
18:31
Speaker 2: It's done at this point. For those who don't know,
18:34
Speaker 2: give us the history multi Fest Multifest.
18:36
Speaker 13: Thirty six years ago, there was a challenge into whether
18:41
Speaker 13: or not there was enough multiculturalism at the then regatta.
18:47
Speaker 13: As you know, at that point regatta was at its
18:49
Speaker 13: height and Steve Starks, who was a visionary win and
18:54
Speaker 13: asked for more inclusion and they basically said no, and
18:58
Speaker 13: if you want to do something, start your own, and
19:00
Speaker 13: he did and he basically single handedly, just within a
19:04
Speaker 13: couple of weeks started the first Multifest and so for
19:08
Speaker 13: thirty six years, Multifests the longest running multicultural festival in
19:12
Speaker 13: West Virginia, no nationally because of its length and its breath,
19:18
Speaker 13: and it is something for everyone. When I use a
19:21
Speaker 13: word multiculturalism, somebody with many people may think that's one group. Now,
19:25
Speaker 13: that's everyone. There is something for everybody at Multifest.
19:29
Speaker 2: And again I think, you know, that's kind of a
19:31
Speaker 2: cliche to say there is something for everybody, But I
19:34
Speaker 2: actually posted the schedule over on my social media, so
19:36
Speaker 2: you can check that out of Dave Allen Radio or
19:38
Speaker 2: at Dave A seventy and X. There is something for everybody.
19:41
Speaker 13: Absolutely, absolutely, we and what we have tried to do
19:44
Speaker 13: over the years is just expand the offering. So we're
19:48
Speaker 13: actually starting on Thursday now. For the last two or
19:50
Speaker 13: three years we've started on Thursday. We have expanded our
19:54
Speaker 13: Kids Zone, which is just just an amazing thing to
19:58
Speaker 13: be able to bring your kids and have a a
20:00
Speaker 13: great outside, safe environment for them.
20:04
Speaker 2: And I was just looking at today's lineup. If I'm
20:06
Speaker 2: correcting this, the vendors are going to open at three.
20:08
Speaker 2: I think this afternoon they were already getting set up.
20:10
Speaker 2: You get the kid zone opening up at four, there's
20:12
Speaker 2: the multicultural kickoff parade called rep Your Culture at five,
20:17
Speaker 2: official opening ceremonies at five thirty cultural presentations. After that,
20:22
Speaker 2: the Southern Soul Trail Ride theme party with line dancing.
20:26
Speaker 2: Like I said, man, you can't get any more multiculture
20:29
Speaker 2: than you got line dancing going on, and you've got
20:31
Speaker 2: music tonight, national headliner Southern soul artist Lamar Bruce. You
20:36
Speaker 2: got three Piece Suit, which is a blues band playing
20:38
Speaker 2: this evening as well. I mean, there's a lot of
20:40
Speaker 2: stuff packed in.
20:41
Speaker 6: There, really is.
20:42
Speaker 13: And the great thing about expanding to Thursday, it really
20:46
Speaker 13: gives some of the more obscure groups an opportunity to
20:50
Speaker 13: be involved. One of the things that about Multifest is
20:54
Speaker 13: that everyone wants to be involved with multifests, and sometimes
20:57
Speaker 13: some of the local performers are saying and well, we
21:00
Speaker 13: didn't get a chance this year, but we try to
21:02
Speaker 13: spread it around because we are we are not just
21:05
Speaker 13: a canal valley.
21:06
Speaker 6: We're a regional We're a national organization.
21:09
Speaker 2: And I mean, I'm not going to run down the
21:11
Speaker 2: entire list because we'll be here all day.
21:13
Speaker 6: That's signed with me.
21:14
Speaker 2: So you can go look it over at to Dave
21:16
Speaker 2: Allen Radio on Facebook, right Dave seventy on X just
21:20
Speaker 2: hit some of the some. I mean, you're gonna have
21:21
Speaker 2: vendors every day. I saw where Delgate Hollis Lewis is
21:25
Speaker 2: doing a pizza eating card. He says he's not participating
21:28
Speaker 2: though we had Monchelle actually because he as he said,
21:31
Speaker 2: I'm cutting.
21:31
Speaker 6: Now, Yeah, I understand. Well, we just want to make
21:33
Speaker 6: sure there's enough pizza for other things.
21:35
Speaker 2: Yeah, there you go, there you go.
21:36
Speaker 13: But the great thing what we're doing this year we
21:39
Speaker 13: have expanded offerings into things like, uh, there's gonna be
21:42
Speaker 13: a Macaroni and Cheese contest for instance, and uh, but
21:47
Speaker 13: we're also trying to make sure that there are informational
21:51
Speaker 13: things going on on on on Saturday where we are having.
21:56
Speaker 13: On Friday, we're having a financial literacy seminar. We're asking
22:00
Speaker 13: people to come down to be a part of that.
22:03
Speaker 13: And then we are we have a health focus, so
22:06
Speaker 13: doctor Jeffrey Cousins is going to come in for a
22:09
Speaker 13: brunch on on on Saturday morning. We want everybody to
22:13
Speaker 13: come in and learn healthful habits. And this day and time,
22:17
Speaker 13: it is very important for us to focus on our
22:21
Speaker 13: personal longevity.
22:23
Speaker 2: I want to talk about the kid zones and the
22:25
Speaker 2: things for the kids there. Why is it important for
22:27
Speaker 2: the young people to get involved in this?
22:28
Speaker 13: Well, Uh, it goes back to the theme of having
22:31
Speaker 13: something for everyone, and what we want young people is
22:36
Speaker 13: to look back over their life and realize that no
22:38
Speaker 13: matter what their age was, that they were able to
22:40
Speaker 13: come out for Multifest. So we're looking back over a lifetime.
22:45
Speaker 13: So when I was a kid, I was there, When
22:46
Speaker 13: I was a teenager, I was there now middle age,
22:49
Speaker 13: and there's something for me there. And one of the
22:52
Speaker 13: things that that that I think is really a crux
22:54
Speaker 13: of what we do is is it's almost like West
22:59
Speaker 13: Virginia Reunion for multifests, and so many people come in,
23:03
Speaker 13: they will have their family reunions around multifests, and so
23:07
Speaker 13: it is I like to say it. It is the
23:09
Speaker 13: time for fun, it's the time for relationship, it's the
23:11
Speaker 13: time for great music. But it's a time to for
23:14
Speaker 13: us to celebrate one another in our West Virginia culture.
23:18
Speaker 2: And thirty six years, I mean, you think about how
23:22
Speaker 2: this thing started and how big it is now, and
23:24
Speaker 2: it's and it's and it's survived because many other things,
23:27
Speaker 2: for one reason or another, didn't survive. But Multifest is
23:30
Speaker 2: still here thirty six years later.
23:31
Speaker 13: Well many have come and gone since that, since that time,
23:35
Speaker 13: But I would be REMISSI if I didn't say we
23:37
Speaker 13: we run into our own challenges, you know, with with
23:41
Speaker 13: challenging financial times. But one of the things we can
23:44
Speaker 13: say about Multifest. No matter how much we raise, we
23:47
Speaker 13: are probably the most efficient.
23:52
Speaker 6: Group in the state.
23:54
Speaker 13: So in other words, we we we don't have designated budgets.
23:58
Speaker 13: We thank the City of Charleon, we thank the Kanall
24:01
Speaker 13: County Commission. We think that the other local cities, like
24:05
Speaker 13: the city of South Charleston gives us golf carts, for instance,
24:08
Speaker 13: and so we have any kind of in kind. The
24:11
Speaker 13: state of West Virginia is very helpful, you know, with
24:14
Speaker 13: the tourism boards, but also the local companies. And over
24:21
Speaker 13: the last couple of years we have had a lot
24:23
Speaker 13: of participation just from individual donors who will and we
24:28
Speaker 13: accept anything from five to five million.
24:31
Speaker 6: So whatever you want.
24:32
Speaker 2: To do, let me know when the five million rolls in.
24:34
Speaker 6: I want to be a part of Well, yeah, you'll
24:36
Speaker 6: be hearing about it, you know.
24:37
Speaker 2: In our last interview, we were talking to Lance Wheeler,
24:40
Speaker 2: the new director of the Ambulance Service Authority, about some
24:43
Speaker 2: of the community CPR classes that they're offering and reason
24:46
Speaker 2: I bring it up because we have a Texas says,
24:48
Speaker 2: you know, events like Multifest we're got to be great opportunities.
24:51
Speaker 2: Like Lance was just mentioning for EMTs, doctors and nurses
24:54
Speaker 2: to voluntarily come down and teach CPR to adults and kids,
24:57
Speaker 2: not just adults with CPR, and babies or even animals
24:59
Speaker 2: as well.
25:00
Speaker 6: It makes sense we'll make room for anything.
25:01
Speaker 13: I mean, we'll we will make room because it is
25:03
Speaker 13: a community focused event. We It is really amazing to
25:10
Speaker 13: me though that as you go over the four days,
25:13
Speaker 13: the broad spectrum of people who come out and uh
25:19
Speaker 13: and again, I know I keep repeating this, but it
25:22
Speaker 13: is really for for for everyone, and so we The
25:25
Speaker 13: way that we are able to sustain it though, is
25:28
Speaker 13: that the vendors need to have customers. But as we
25:34
Speaker 13: have done since missus Stark's started this, everything in terms
25:40
Speaker 13: of being able to come out is free, and so
25:43
Speaker 13: at this time of affordability, it is wonderful to be
25:47
Speaker 13: able to bring your family to a family friendly environment
25:52
Speaker 13: and for them to be able to take partake of
25:54
Speaker 13: the acts and see everything and not have an overhead.
25:57
Speaker 2: Yeah, and you're gonna have food. Obviously you mentioned the
25:59
Speaker 2: fast but there I'm sure they'll be food trucks and
26:01
Speaker 2: things of that.
26:02
Speaker 13: Absolutely, we have about fifty five vendors and so it
26:06
Speaker 13: is important to come in and get a spice, get
26:09
Speaker 13: a get a get a slice of all the different
26:12
Speaker 13: levels of cultural food that we have.
26:15
Speaker 2: What's what's some of the things that are there, David
26:18
Speaker 2: that maybe people don't think about being there, that they're
26:21
Speaker 2: surprised when they come out, or maybe something that's new
26:23
Speaker 2: this year.
26:24
Speaker 13: Well, I think, you know, it's interesting as I as
26:27
Speaker 13: I travel around the country, I'm always surprised if I
26:31
Speaker 13: mentioned Multifest, people know about it. And so I don't
26:34
Speaker 13: think we always realize the reach that we have. People
26:37
Speaker 13: come in just from multifests or they have a family
26:40
Speaker 13: member that knows about about Multifest. But I truly believe
26:44
Speaker 13: that that that it is the it is the rich
26:48
Speaker 13: family atmosphere, and it's such a safe environment.
26:52
Speaker 6: And so I think that.
26:53
Speaker 13: Anyone no matter what where you are within the political spectrum,
26:57
Speaker 13: no matter where you are from a religious standpoint. And
27:00
Speaker 13: on Sunday, by the way, I was going to mention that, Yeah,
27:02
Speaker 13: on Sunday, we're we're having a church service on on site.
27:07
Speaker 13: Then we will go into gospel, and then we will
27:10
Speaker 13: go into uh uh to to more secular things, and
27:14
Speaker 13: then on Sunday we end with the sugar Hill Gang
27:18
Speaker 13: and the generations know the sugar Hill Gang. They're one
27:22
Speaker 13: of the original rappers. Delights, Yes, is really the one
27:25
Speaker 13: that started it all.
27:26
Speaker 2: That's absolutely true, and they're going to be there. It's
27:29
Speaker 2: going to be fantastic. And one of the themes of
27:31
Speaker 2: this throughout the entire four days is there's always music playing.
27:35
Speaker 2: I mean, there's always you're going to hear and there
27:36
Speaker 2: are all different types of music.
27:38
Speaker 13: And you asked we're doing something different for Thursday for tonight,
27:42
Speaker 13: we are actually not down on the stage.
27:45
Speaker 6: I had that.
27:45
Speaker 13: We're actually on a smaller stage on the street level.
27:49
Speaker 13: So this year we're doing some things on the street level,
27:51
Speaker 13: some things down on the on the main stage.
27:54
Speaker 2: And it's a big old time, it always always is.
27:56
Speaker 2: You mentioned some of the sponsors, uh, I mean, I
27:58
Speaker 2: know that City of Charleston's have all the Nisconnawk County,
28:01
Speaker 2: our friends over at at eight and Fox Appalachia, West Virginia,
28:06
Speaker 2: Department of Tourism, Greater Kanna Valley Foundation, just to name
28:09
Speaker 2: a few other ones.
28:10
Speaker 13: Absolutely, and then we have individual sponsors and and and
28:14
Speaker 13: so when you when you look at it, it is
28:17
Speaker 13: truly a community outreach.
28:20
Speaker 2: And that's what it's all about. It Again, I got
28:21
Speaker 2: information posted on my social media's Dave Alan Radio on
28:24
Speaker 2: Facebook or at DABA seventy on access. Is your your
28:27
Speaker 2: chance to just invite people to come out. Well, I'll
28:31
Speaker 2: just let you go.
28:31
Speaker 13: Well I kind of buried the lead because because of
28:34
Speaker 13: all of the wonderful entertainment, our headliner acts I think
28:37
Speaker 13: are very important.
28:39
Speaker 6: So for for tonight, our headliner.
28:42
Speaker 13: Would be the uh the Lamar Brace Band, which is
28:45
Speaker 13: a Southern soul artist. Our headliners are our regional and
28:50
Speaker 13: national headliners. On Friday will be Jay Holiday. It's interesting
28:55
Speaker 13: to hear the young ladies scream when Jay Holiday come out.
28:58
Speaker 6: And our national yet back of the day.
29:02
Speaker 2: Yeah.
29:03
Speaker 13: And then the national headliner on Friday will be cut
29:06
Speaker 13: close uh there uh. And on Saturday, our our our
29:10
Speaker 13: national headliner will be one twelve, the R and B
29:14
Speaker 13: Group one twelve And that's that's always a great time.
29:17
Speaker 2: And we talked about twelve had a bunch of hits.
29:20
Speaker 13: They really did, They really did. They were with us
29:23
Speaker 13: a few years ago. It was just a wonderful evening.
29:25
Speaker 13: What's a wonderful show?
29:26
Speaker 2: All right?
29:28
Speaker 1: Is there?
29:28
Speaker 2: I mean, I've got the list posted, but you guys
29:30
Speaker 2: have a Facebook page or something the website or something
29:32
Speaker 2: so people can see all the stuff into tall.
29:34
Speaker 13: You can go to multifest WV and and on an
29:38
Speaker 13: ongoing basis, there will be some videos there as we
29:41
Speaker 13: as we I was noticing this morning, you know, we
29:43
Speaker 13: we kind of had videos about the setup and and everything.
29:48
Speaker 13: I do want to give a shout out to our
29:50
Speaker 13: executive director, Uh Minister Tomorrow you banks Uh. And we
29:55
Speaker 13: are very fortunate to have her because she not she
29:57
Speaker 13: she lives this. You know, we start multi like the
30:00
Speaker 13: week after the last multi things the way, that's way
30:02
Speaker 13: you have to do it, absolutely, and she not only

34:07
Speaker 6: To the show.
34:07
Speaker 16: Good morning Dave, Thank you man.
34:08
Speaker 2: It's going to be a big old party it always
34:10
Speaker 2: is over the airport on the twenty seventh of this month.
34:13
Speaker 16: Yes, it is a great event. This is a celebration
34:15
Speaker 16: of the start of the fall sports season at Marshall.
34:19
Speaker 16: Everybody I know is focused on football, but we also
34:22
Speaker 16: have soccer starting, We've got basketball won't be far from that,
34:26
Speaker 16: and we're going to have several coaches to give some
34:30
Speaker 16: reports and all the exciting things going on with the
34:32
Speaker 16: different athletic teams.
34:34
Speaker 2: And Steve Animal and are going to be serving as
34:35
Speaker 2: MC that right there is worth the ticket.
34:37
Speaker 4: Right it is.
34:38
Speaker 2: It is absolutely worth it tick, he said, tongue in cheek.
34:41
Speaker 2: But now we have a good seven I've done at
34:43
Speaker 2: the last three or four years and we have a
34:45
Speaker 2: great time up there. And the great thing about this
34:47
Speaker 2: environment is, I mean, this is a celebration of all
34:50
Speaker 2: things Marshall, but there's people that aren't necessarily Marshall fans
34:54
Speaker 2: that show up just because you know, they just want
34:57
Speaker 2: to support what's going on there. And plus they just
34:59
Speaker 2: like a big party. And that's what it is because
35:01
Speaker 2: I think Chef Paul and the folks at ten ten
35:03
Speaker 2: are they doing the catering again today?
35:04
Speaker 15: Are?
35:05
Speaker 17: Yeah?
35:05
Speaker 2: And so you've got great food, you've got great drink.
35:07
Speaker 2: There's always great door prizes and auctions and things of
35:11
Speaker 2: that nature. Plus you get the party in an airplane hangar.
35:14
Speaker 2: I mean, how cool is that. And the folks that
35:16
Speaker 2: to build No Flight School always put out some of
35:18
Speaker 2: the planes so people can have their picture made with it,
35:20
Speaker 2: take a you know, take a look at them. I mean,
35:22
Speaker 2: it's just a great old night. And if the weather
35:25
Speaker 2: is good, which in knock on Wood it has been
35:27
Speaker 2: the last couple of years, it's it's great up on
35:29
Speaker 2: the mountain. There's great views.
35:31
Speaker 9: It is.
35:32
Speaker 2: It's great up there.
35:32
Speaker 16: And the good thing is if it does happen to rain,
35:35
Speaker 16: we're in a big hangar, so you're not gonna get
35:38
Speaker 16: wet even if it does rain.
35:39
Speaker 2: Yeah, and again this is a very non formal event.
35:42
Speaker 2: You know, where your Marshall gear, where your tailgate clothes.
35:46
Speaker 2: It's you know, just just come out and enjoy. And
35:49
Speaker 2: you mentioned the coaches that are gonna be there. I
35:51
Speaker 2: know coach Gibson is going to be there, Corny Jackson,
35:53
Speaker 2: the basketball coach. Several other coaches will be there as well.
35:56
Speaker 2: There's usually some student athletes that are there years past.
36:00
Speaker 2: The cheerleaders have been there, the dance teams, sometimes the
36:03
Speaker 2: band shows up that their schedule allows. And the voice
36:05
Speaker 2: of the Thunder and Herd, Steve Cotton, is there and
36:08
Speaker 2: he does sort of a Q and A with some
36:12
Speaker 2: of the coaches and with the athletes that there there,
36:14
Speaker 2: so that kind of adds to it as well.
36:16
Speaker 4: Yeah, he does.
36:16
Speaker 16: And you mentioned the football and the men's basketball coach.
36:19
Speaker 16: We also have Julie Fulks who's the women's basketball coach,
36:23
Speaker 16: Caleb Bowen from the cross country team, Phoebe Campbell from swimming,
36:26
Speaker 16: and diving.
36:27
Speaker 2: We'll all be there and we are saying this because
36:30
Speaker 2: the event's not to August twenty seventh. The reason I
36:32
Speaker 2: have you on early, Robert is because this event sells
36:35
Speaker 2: out and it frequently does, and it's going to this
36:38
Speaker 2: year it does.
36:39
Speaker 16: Yes, And one more coach don't want to leave out
36:41
Speaker 16: is Evan Richard, which is the new stunt coach.
36:44
Speaker 2: That's a new thing at Marso the stunt the stunt team. Right,
36:48
Speaker 2: but get your tickets now heard zone dot com. Correct,
36:52
Speaker 2: that's the best place to get your tickets. Individual tickets
36:55
Speaker 2: are available still, and I do want to mention that
36:59
Speaker 2: this would not be possible without the corporate buy in
37:02
Speaker 2: from so many different people, so many different entities around
37:06
Speaker 2: the Canal Valley and around the citth of We Street.
37:07
Speaker 2: You need to buy tables for their employees or their
37:11
Speaker 2: friends or their customers to come out. And there are
37:13
Speaker 2: still opportunities to buy tables right.
37:14
Speaker 16: Yes, absolutely, And want to get a shout out to
37:17
Speaker 16: some of our green sponsors, which are the twenty five
37:19
Speaker 16: hundred dollars tables, Mark and Monica Hatfield, Melanie Pagliaro at
37:24
Speaker 16: Mapping Associates and Martial Health Network is a green sponsor
37:28
Speaker 16: this year, and then you can get a white table
37:30
Speaker 16: for thirteen hundred dollars. Each table has ten seats, but
37:34
Speaker 16: there are tables available now as we get closer to
37:38
Speaker 16: the event. In the past several years it has sold
37:41
Speaker 16: out well.
37:42
Speaker 2: And as far as getting the tables, you got to
37:44
Speaker 2: let the people that are doing the logistics know ahead
37:46
Speaker 2: of time, you know. So that's why you know, we
37:48
Speaker 2: want to throw that out there now. If you do.
37:50
Speaker 2: If your business does want to be a sponsor or,
37:52
Speaker 2: you as an individual wants to buy a table, you'd
37:54
Speaker 2: probably need to do so some time over the next
37:55
Speaker 2: week or so so they can get you on the
37:57
Speaker 2: program and you know, things of that nature.
37:58
Speaker 16: Absolutely, you get some emotional benefits and marketing if you're
38:02
Speaker 16: a company for being a sponsor and we want to
38:04
Speaker 16: make sure you have a table.
38:06
Speaker 4: It is a big hangar.
38:07
Speaker 2: It's a big hangar, but I'll tell you it gets
38:08
Speaker 2: a little crowded in there sometimes. It certainly does, and
38:12
Speaker 2: especially when you get all those Marshall folks there as well.
38:14
Speaker 2: And again this time of year it is I mean
38:17
Speaker 2: even towards the end of August. You know, this will
38:18
Speaker 2: be a few days before the season starts, and everybody
38:20
Speaker 2: like me and you, we got football fever. You know,
38:22
Speaker 2: we're rare to go, whether it's college, high school, pros, whatever.
38:26
Speaker 2: I just I just want football in my life.
38:28
Speaker 16: I'm with you, and I also have soccer fever.
38:31
Speaker 6: You've got.
38:31
Speaker 16: The soccer team is starting up and we're ranked seventeenth,
38:34
Speaker 16: I believe in the nation right now, okay, and really
38:37
Speaker 16: looking forward to both the men and women's soccer team.
38:40
Speaker 2: Talk about some of the giveaways and promotions that go on,
38:43
Speaker 2: because I mean, I haven't seen the list, but Robert,
38:45
Speaker 2: in years past you've offered trips to go with the
38:49
Speaker 2: team down to a destination somewhere. I know you may
38:51
Speaker 2: still be working on that stuff right now, but we'll
38:53
Speaker 2: have more of that this year, right.
38:54
Speaker 16: Yeah, we'll have I'm pretty sure we're going to have
38:57
Speaker 16: an opportunity to bid on a trip to Sunbelt basketball
39:01
Speaker 16: tournament in Pensacola. So who doesn't want to go to
39:04
Speaker 16: Pensacola in March.
39:05
Speaker 2: Especially in that time of year, right So.
39:07
Speaker 16: That that's going to be a live auction item. And
39:10
Speaker 16: we're still working on some potential out of items.
39:13
Speaker 2: And again, this is such a low key atmosphere. You
39:16
Speaker 2: know it's not. I mean, yeah, there's some Normally President
39:20
Speaker 2: Brad Smith has been there. I don't know whether hisll
39:21
Speaker 2: schedule allowed to be here this year not, but normally
39:23
Speaker 2: in years past he's been there. So he'll get up,
39:25
Speaker 2: give a few words and no. Mayor Goodwin always welcomes
39:27
Speaker 2: everybody in behalf of the city and things of that nature.
39:30
Speaker 2: But it's it's very informal, so we don't people to
39:33
Speaker 2: think that they're going to a a not I mean,
39:35
Speaker 2: it's a nice dinner, don't get me wrong, but it's
39:36
Speaker 2: not a plated event where you're going to sit there
39:38
Speaker 2: in a suit and tie or whatever. This is a
39:40
Speaker 2: tailgate party.
39:41
Speaker 16: It is a it's a tailgate themed event. So whear
39:44
Speaker 16: what you would wear to a tailgate?
39:45
Speaker 2: Yeah, and enjoyed the great food because man Chef Paul
39:48
Speaker 2: knocks it out of the park. It is tailgate food,
39:51
Speaker 2: but it's the Chef Paul edition that Yeah, that's a
39:54
Speaker 2: whole different level. Correct. This ain't your uncle Ray raised meatballs, Okay,
39:58
Speaker 2: I mean this is this is good stuff. It's going
40:00
Speaker 2: to be April the April, I'm sorry, It's going to
40:02
Speaker 2: be August of twenty seventh. Indoors over about six is
40:05
Speaker 2: that right? Correct? Yes, And you want to get there early.
40:08
Speaker 2: And the reason I say that is because you know
40:10
Speaker 2: you are at an airport or you're at an air facility,
40:13
Speaker 2: I should say, so there when you know, they have
40:16
Speaker 2: to line everybody up and then you can't just like
40:18
Speaker 2: walk in because the FAA stuff, you know, so they'll
40:21
Speaker 2: kind of guide everybody in. And as I said, the
40:23
Speaker 2: planes are on display and they're just doing fantastic things, Robert,
40:27
Speaker 2: as you know at the build No Flight school up
40:29
Speaker 2: there through Marshall University, and the planes are at their display.
40:31
Speaker 2: You can take a look at them. You can't get
40:33
Speaker 2: at them and drive them around. Ask theeve animal how
40:35

47:52
Speaker 2: I want to get to. Jack Carlson has the story
47:55
Speaker 2: post at wv metronews dot com. Google already making some
48:00
Speaker 2: news in Putnam County where they plan to build a
48:02
Speaker 2: data center. Google teaming up with eighty four Lumber to
48:05
Speaker 2: give money other supplies to Buffalo Elementary and high schools,
48:10
Speaker 2: George Washington Middle and Elementary schools again in Putnam County,
48:15
Speaker 2: the Buffalo Volunteer Fire Department in the Buffalo Senior Center.
48:18
Speaker 2: Again not just Google, it's eighty four Lumber getting involved
48:20
Speaker 2: in this as well. We'll have a full list of
48:22
Speaker 2: exactly what they're going to be doing. It actually is
48:25
Speaker 2: posted as part of Jack's story at wv metronews dot com.
48:28
Speaker 2: Programming note, the director of the Putnam County Development Authority,
48:31
Speaker 2: Morgan Teney, is going to join us on midday to
48:35
Speaker 2: talk about it tomorrow. Chris Lawrence caught up with Patrick
48:40
Speaker 2: Lahey of the Codloseem and Convention Center about the issues
48:42
Speaker 2: with the Billy Strings concert at the Conloseum the other night.
48:45
Speaker 2: You can read that story at wv metronews dot com.
48:47
Speaker 2: It sounds like there were a lot of issues all around.
48:50
Speaker 2: There were a lot of rumors that both entrances to
48:52
Speaker 2: the Kyloseum were not open. Mister Lahey says that's not
48:55
Speaker 2: the case. And during that interview, and we can read
49:00
Speaker 2: the story again w metronews dot com, Patrick Lahey of
49:03
Speaker 2: the Colosseum says that typically most artists understand that it's
49:07
Speaker 2: about a ninety minute process to get people through the door.
49:11
Speaker 2: The Billy Strings people wanted a sixty minute window instead
49:14
Speaker 2: of a ninety minute window, so there's that. There was
49:17
Speaker 2: also no opening act, so the party started literally at
49:22
Speaker 2: around nine that morning, and a lot of people just
49:26
Speaker 2: didn't want to go in early, and then they all
49:28
Speaker 2: tried to go in at one time, which is going
49:30
Speaker 2: to be problematic. Plus he reports there are people trying
49:32
Speaker 2: to bring in things you can't and it was a
49:35
Speaker 2: sold out show, so add to that. In the end,
49:38
Speaker 2: though once people got in. I'm told it was a
49:40
Speaker 2: fantastic concert. I wasn't there. A couple of my friends were.
49:43
Speaker 2: I saw some videos posted. It looks like it was
49:46
Speaker 2: absolutely fantastic. So you can read more about it at
49:50
Speaker 2: on Chris's story at WV Metronews dot com. Ladies and gentlemen,
49:54
Speaker 2: look who's here. It's Tjmeadows.
49:56
Speaker 1: How you doing?
49:57
Speaker 6: Man?
49:57
Speaker 2: Good? You got TC on?
49:59
Speaker 7: Huh?
49:59
Speaker 2: I got TC an LM on the show today.
50:01
Speaker 17: Wow, it's a good line. I just got off the
50:03
Speaker 17: phone with TC. Did you really? Yeah, I'm a hustler,
50:06
Speaker 17: you know. I have a very particular set of skills.
50:08
Speaker 17: People think I just do this and have a pretty face.
50:11
Speaker 17: I got a lot going on. Okay, working a deal? Okay?
50:14
Speaker 2: Are you trying to Are you trying to maybe get
50:18
Speaker 2: an NL deal for for no? Are you coming out
50:21
Speaker 2: of retirem from that stellar athletic? Do what I know energy? Okay?
50:24
Speaker 2: I do what I know energy?
50:25
Speaker 6: All right? So anyway, just.
50:27
Speaker 2: Ask you real quick. I know you guys are gonna
50:28
Speaker 2: get into it on talk line and we'll get into
50:30
Speaker 2: it later day on midday as well. The whole thing.
50:32
Speaker 2: What's what's what's What's been the big topic this week,
50:35
Speaker 2: you know, the flot cameras of the data centers of
50:37
Speaker 2: this week has been the clothing vouchers. Yeah, and uh,
50:41
Speaker 2: you know, you guys talked about it. We talked about it.
50:44
Speaker 2: I mean, there's still a whole lot of a whole
50:46
Speaker 2: lot of questions. And I'll be honest with you, this
50:48
Speaker 2: is editorial comment for me. I don't know that what
50:50
Speaker 2: we are, what's coming out from the governor at this
50:53
Speaker 2: point is is really helping the matter. In my opinion,
50:56
Speaker 2: with all due respect, with all due respect, this has
50:58
Speaker 2: been botched from the start. It's been botched.
51:03
Speaker 17: It was about a financial crisis back in May that
51:08
Speaker 17: can't be proven based on the numbers, and then we
51:11
Speaker 17: shift the focus when that isn't resonating to this idea
51:15
Speaker 17: of well fifty percent of these transactions are done and
51:18
Speaker 17: converted to cash. What we don't release as part of
51:21
Speaker 17: that is the twenty twenty two memo from the Department
51:24
Speaker 17: of Health and Human Services that directed people to do that.
51:27
Speaker 17: You're right, I read you're the memo MOSLP. You've been
51:30
Speaker 17: governor for almost two years. If you don't know that's
51:32
Speaker 17: going on and your department's been doing it, whose fault.
51:34
Speaker 2: Is that they were actually directed, you know, in twenty
51:37
Speaker 2: twenty two to do that. You just said the parents
51:38
Speaker 2: were yeah, okay, all right.
51:40
Speaker 17: Look man, I could poke holes in this thing all
51:42
Speaker 17: day long, but I'll just put it this way. I'm
51:44
Speaker 17: a business guy. If I were going into a boardroom
51:46
Speaker 17: to make this pitch, I get laughed out of the boardroom.
51:48
Speaker 17: There's so many holes in it. I wouldn't even make
51:50
Speaker 17: it through the boardroom door with the water in the bucket.
51:52
Speaker 2: What else you got on the show today?
51:53
Speaker 17: We're going to talk about the Putnam County Buffalo Data
51:57
Speaker 17: Center from Google. Eric tar Is going to join us,
51:59
Speaker 17: going to kick that around a little bit. Will be
52:00
Speaker 17: knee deep in tannaf yet again. Also check in with
52:04
Speaker 17: Fox News find out what's happening in Washington. A lot
52:06
Speaker 17: of time for texts and calls today because people got
52:09
Speaker 17: a lot on their minds.
52:10
Speaker 2: Exactly all right. I'll be back later today with Metro News,
52:12
Speaker 2: Midday with thirteen News and Tonight Live anchor Amanda Baron
52:15
