- 0:03Speaker 1: Welcome to the Observatory Podcast.
- 0:05Speaker 2: With your hosts Scott and Loray Wright.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Join us each week as we explore living life from
- 0:11Speaker 1: the inside out. Welcome back to the Observatory Podcast. Today,
- 0:20Speaker 1: Ray and I are sitting down with our good friend
- 0:23Speaker 1: Bob Coleman. We've known Bob for a while. He's actually
- 0:27Speaker 1: been on the podcast before along with his partner Wendy Wilde,
- 0:31Speaker 1: and she's going to sit down on this as well
- 0:34Speaker 1: give us a little bit of her perspective. But what
- 0:38Speaker 1: we're going to talk about is relationship with money in
- 0:45Speaker 1: some ways. But Bob has written a book called Retire
- 0:50Speaker 1: on Your Terms, and he's got some kind of outside
- 0:54Speaker 1: the box, non traditional ways of planning for that day
- 0:58Speaker 1: when we all quit work. And since Ray and I
- 1:02Speaker 1: are in that spot, we thought this would be a
- 1:05Speaker 1: great topic to bring to the table, and so we
- 1:08Speaker 1: would invite you to just sit back, relax and enjoy
- 1:11Speaker 1: this podcast with Bob. He has some great perspectives on
- 1:15Speaker 1: some things that you can explore and get curious about,
- 1:19Speaker 1: and that's what this is about. In the end, when
- 1:23Speaker 1: we were talking, we talked about this being the Curiosity Club,
- 1:26Speaker 1: how to find ways to be and gain and have
- 1:31Speaker 1: a successful way of being able to do the things
- 1:34Speaker 1: that you want when you retire. So this is a
- 1:37Speaker 1: great podcast. Sit back and relax. Here it comes Bob Coleman.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Welcome back to the Observatory Podcast.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Hi, Ray, Hi, how's it going going good? We're seeing
- 1:49Speaker 2: a while since we've been sitting here.
- 1:51Speaker 1: It has been a bit and we're sitting here with
- 1:54Speaker 1: our good friends Bob and Wendy. Bob Coleman, Wendy Wild
- 2:00Speaker 1: And this is a couple of people who we admire
- 2:03Speaker 1: a lot. And Bob reached out to us a little
- 2:06Speaker 1: bit ago because he's got something that he wants to share,
- 2:10Speaker 1: and we started having some discussions about what it was
- 2:14Speaker 1: and what he wanted to bring. And we really like
- 2:18Speaker 1: this message. It's super non traditional.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Well and we all have emotions to it. Yeah, I know.
- 2:26Speaker 2: That was the thing that was a really delightful surprises
- 2:30Speaker 2: just how meaningful it is I think for everyone. Yeah,
- 2:33Speaker 2: thank you.
- 2:33Speaker 3: I'm glad it's landing that way for you.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Wendy wasn't going to be part of this, but we
- 2:37Speaker 1: just said we're going to throw her over here in
- 2:39Speaker 1: a corner because she might have something to say about this.
- 2:41Speaker 1: You never know, And you guys have both been on
- 2:45Speaker 1: the podcast before, so if you want to know more
- 2:49Speaker 1: details about them, you can go back and listen to
- 2:51Speaker 1: some of the other podcasts. But welcome you guys. Thank you,
- 2:55Speaker 1: so happy to be here, so good to have you here.
- 2:57Speaker 3: We love being in your space.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Thank you. We're glad you're just to magic here. You
- 3:01Speaker 2: came all the way from down South.
- 3:03Speaker 1: So it's down south, not Alabama, No, Southern Utah, Southern Utah.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Saint George.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Well, to start off with, uh, you know all, I'm
- 3:15Speaker 1: going to turn time over to you, but I just
- 3:16Speaker 1: want to say when he approached us about this subject.
- 3:20Speaker 1: You know, we don't normally do this kind of thing,
- 3:23Speaker 1: but however, in our life from where we are right now,
- 3:26Speaker 1: it's super pertinent to where we are because we're both
- 3:31Speaker 1: crossing that bridge from working in the world into the
- 3:35Speaker 1: world of not working in this world in retirement. So
- 3:40Speaker 1: and that's what your message is about, Bob. So why
- 3:42Speaker 1: don't you just kind of go into that and tell
- 3:44Speaker 1: us a little bit about it. You've got a book
- 3:46Speaker 1: here called to Retire on your Terms, and we want
- 3:50Speaker 1: to talk a little bit about that. And you also,
- 3:54Speaker 1: you correct me, I'm going to try and get this
- 3:56Speaker 1: right because I asked him, are you a financial planner?
- 3:59Speaker 1: And he said, well, yes and no, but I don't
- 4:02Speaker 1: really call myself that. I am a non.
- 4:04Speaker 3: Traditional financial investment advisor.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Yes, perfect, And in the conversations that we've been having
- 4:12Speaker 1: about this, that's an excellent description of what you're talking about.
- 4:16Speaker 3: So yeah, and the emphasis being on non traditional because
- 4:19Speaker 3: most people have you know, you say financial and investment advisor,
- 4:24Speaker 3: and most people have this image or this thought of
- 4:27Speaker 3: what that means. Something conjures up in them of well,
- 4:31Speaker 3: you say this is what you are, so in my mind,
- 4:35Speaker 3: this is what you do, right, And I have really
- 4:39Speaker 3: tried hard to break out of that mold because there's
- 4:43Speaker 3: so much more that I'm here to deliver and to
- 4:48Speaker 3: give to people. And that was why I really wanted
- 4:50Speaker 3: to reach out to you, because I feel like I
- 4:53Speaker 3: have this message that people need to hear because I'm
- 4:56Speaker 3: experiencing these changes with people in their life when it
- 5:00Speaker 3: comes to their money, and most people don't know that
- 5:05Speaker 3: they have options and choices that are out of the
- 5:09Speaker 3: traditional advisor. An industry created box. I call it the
- 5:16Speaker 3: industry matrix.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, Well that's awesome and it's about so much
- 5:20Speaker 1: more than money.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Yeah, Because for me, when we first started looking at
- 5:24Speaker 2: the book, I was really captivated by Wow, it's prompting
- 5:28Speaker 2: me to really ask myself what's my relationship with money? Yeah?
- 5:32Speaker 3: And then I'm so glad that question came up for you.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Yeah, and then even taking it further as to well,
- 5:37Speaker 2: what's abundance for me, and all of a sudden, I'm like,
- 5:41Speaker 2: that's really odd. I'm pretty old to be asking that question.
- 5:45Speaker 2: I should have asked that when I started this game.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Well, there's abundance comes in way more forms than money, right.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Exactly, and I hadn't really spend as much attention to it.
- 5:55Speaker 2: I think the boundaries, like you said, the traditional boundaries
- 5:59Speaker 2: boxed it for me. So yeah, I didn't have a
- 6:02Speaker 2: guide like you to say, well, what if you just
- 6:05Speaker 2: took these walls down in abundance and investment and all
- 6:11Speaker 2: of that looked different. I think that would have been
- 6:14Speaker 2: I can already feel that would have been more. That
- 6:17Speaker 2: would have been a different game to play, where there
- 6:19Speaker 2: would have been a lot more fun.
- 6:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:21Speaker 3: I love that you say that, the abundance, the fun,
- 6:24Speaker 3: all of that, because most people when they think about
- 6:26Speaker 3: their money and their investments. It's not fun, it's not
- 6:31Speaker 3: in their mind. They have this place of abundance, that's
- 6:34Speaker 3: some destiny, some place of arrival that they're trying to
- 6:38Speaker 3: get to, and many people feel like they're missing it
- 6:42Speaker 3: or I'm never going to get there because I don't
- 6:44Speaker 3: have the money to get to that place. But and
- 6:48Speaker 3: we know this from all the other spaces that were
- 6:50Speaker 3: involved in together. But it's the journey, right, It's the
- 6:53Speaker 3: journey of hey, where are we right now today, and
- 6:57Speaker 3: what's the trajectory that we're on to get us to
- 7:01Speaker 3: some place that we think we want to go to.
- 7:04Speaker 3: But when I start talking to people about abundance and prosperity,
- 7:08Speaker 3: there's all these different pictures that come up in their mind,
- 7:12Speaker 3: and it's generally a place that they're trying to get
- 7:15Speaker 3: to or a number or a number absolutely right or
- 7:19Speaker 3: a number, and it's either success or fail. I got
- 7:24Speaker 3: there or I didn't. I'm on my way, or I'm not.
- 7:27Speaker 3: I don't have enough money, I can't do all these things.
- 7:29Speaker 3: And yeah, so's I really try and help people get
- 7:33Speaker 3: out of that I can't mindset and get into I
- 7:38Speaker 3: can because I'm creating mindset.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Yeah, well, and everyone has their own history of what
- 7:46Speaker 1: they learned when they were growing up, what they experienced
- 7:49Speaker 1: in their family. Were you a rich or poor or
- 7:53Speaker 1: was your like My dad was brought up in he
- 7:57Speaker 1: was born in twenty five, he was four years old
- 8:01Speaker 1: when they went through the depression, super impressionable time, and
- 8:06Speaker 1: you know, they went without a lot, I'm sure, and
- 8:09Speaker 1: so that that had this kind of scarcity mentality. And
- 8:14Speaker 1: he was a conservative banker. And I have two brothers
- 8:17Speaker 1: that were financial planners. I worked in finance. We kind
- 8:20Speaker 1: of followed and that was about having a job, making
- 8:24Speaker 1: a living, nine to five, go to the office. That's
- 8:28Speaker 1: that's what we always did until we didn't. And they
- 8:33Speaker 1: did it until they retired. I did it until I
- 8:36Speaker 1: wasn't of retirement age. It's one of the things we've
- 8:38Speaker 1: talked about and when that'll happen, and maybe we get
- 8:40Speaker 1: into that as we go, but it's it's just fascinating
- 8:45Speaker 1: that you know each individual has that experience, and I'm
- 8:49Speaker 1: sure part of what you're doing is you've got to
- 8:51Speaker 1: determine that when you're working with people right.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Well, and it must stem from your own story. So
- 8:57Speaker 2: maybe that's a good place to start, is your own
- 8:59Speaker 2: story and where it came up for you that prompted
- 9:03Speaker 2: you then to see this non traditional way.
- 9:07Speaker 3: All of us come to the subject of money with
- 9:10Speaker 3: a story or stories. Some of it may actually be
- 9:14Speaker 3: generational that we have brought into where we're living right
- 9:18Speaker 3: now of ancestors did this, that or the other, and
- 9:21Speaker 3: it's in our DNA, and this is how we then
- 9:25Speaker 3: think of money and deal with it and process it.
- 9:30Speaker 3: And then we all have our own lived experiences that
- 9:32Speaker 3: get us to from one point to the other. So, yeah,
- 9:39Speaker 3: I'm pausing here for a second because there's when I
- 9:43Speaker 3: reached out to the two of you to want to
- 9:45Speaker 3: share some of this. My intention behind this was I
- 9:50Speaker 3: don't want to sell something. I want to share a
- 9:53Speaker 3: story that's different. I want people to start thinking about
- 9:56Speaker 3: money in a different way. I want them to start
- 9:58Speaker 3: thinking about there, as you said, ray their relationship to
- 10:02Speaker 3: money and then their relationship to those who help assist
- 10:07Speaker 3: them with their money. There's a lot of do it yourselfers,
- 10:12Speaker 3: and that's great, that's awesome. There's some unbelievable success stories
- 10:17Speaker 3: of those who have done it yourself. Even the do
- 10:20Speaker 3: it yourselfers reach out to others for input guidance and
- 10:24Speaker 3: advice to learn how they want to do something themselves.
- 10:29Speaker 3: And so I've written a couple of thoughts here. My
- 10:33Speaker 3: big thing with this for the two of you and
- 10:36Speaker 3: for the observatory audience is this is not a sales pitch, right,
- 10:42Speaker 3: and I don't want it to be that way. I
- 10:46Speaker 3: want this to be an educational experience of where people
- 10:50Speaker 3: start thinking about where I am presently with my money
- 10:54Speaker 3: and what can be done with it. I want them
- 10:57Speaker 3: to start thinking about it in a very very very
- 10:59Speaker 3: different light. So a couple of thoughts that I've written
- 11:02Speaker 3: down is to start with you if I just, oh, sure,
- 11:05Speaker 3: kind of read some of this, because it's I think
- 11:09Speaker 3: it's important to build this foundation for the listener of
- 11:13Speaker 3: what the intention I'm bringing to this, because really the
- 11:17Speaker 3: first thing is I want to inform and awake. I
- 11:21Speaker 3: want to awaken people to possibilities that they're not currently
- 11:26Speaker 3: present to, that they're not currently aware of, and it's
- 11:31Speaker 3: maybe not in their current sphere. And Scott, I love
- 11:34Speaker 3: how you talk about each individual's solar system of things
- 11:37Speaker 3: that come in and out of their individual space. I
- 11:41Speaker 3: want to bring some things into people's space that's not
- 11:44Speaker 3: there yet I want to open their hearts and minds
- 11:47Speaker 3: to thinking and feeling and experiencing money in ways that
- 11:51Speaker 3: haven't been there yet. So I want to let people
- 11:58Speaker 3: know that there is a different, non true, additional way
- 12:00Speaker 3: to do financial and investment strategy that's much more client
- 12:05Speaker 3: focused and it's easier to implement and follow. I also
- 12:10Speaker 3: want people to know that they have choices. They don't
- 12:13Speaker 3: have to follow the traditional model that advisors are offering.
- 12:17Speaker 3: And let me throw this caveat in there too. I
- 12:20Speaker 3: am in no way, shape or form wanting to belittle,
- 12:25Speaker 3: demean throw unto the bus a traditional advisor. And what's
- 12:29Speaker 3: a traditional advisor, Well, it's most of who you see
- 12:33Speaker 3: out there in the financial world. They've gone, they've gotten
- 12:35Speaker 3: some licenses, and then they are working with an insurance
- 12:39Speaker 3: company or a registered investment advisory firm or a broker dealer,
- 12:43Speaker 3: and it's those firms that tell them what they can
- 12:47Speaker 3: offer to a client. So an advisor steps into a
- 12:52Speaker 3: box that's created by the industry, and the industry in
- 12:56Speaker 3: that box tells the advisor what they can put on
- 12:59Speaker 3: the table for a Everybody stays in that industry created
- 13:03Speaker 3: matrix and box, and it's very limiting, very very limiting.
- 13:10Speaker 3: And we'll get into more of that, but that's something
- 13:12Speaker 3: I want people to know right up front. You do
- 13:14Speaker 3: not have to stay in the industry created box. And
- 13:19Speaker 3: this is where I'm going out on an edge here,
- 13:22Speaker 3: and this is a real edgy thing to put out
- 13:25Speaker 3: into the public space. But the industry wants you to
- 13:27Speaker 3: stay in that box. Why because it's financially rewarding for them.
- 13:34Speaker 3: When you look at any well, let's take a traditional
- 13:38Speaker 3: product that ends up on the shelves at Walmart. Right,
- 13:41Speaker 3: it goes from the manufacturer through multiple different distribution channels
- 13:46Speaker 3: and things to finally get on the shelf at Target
- 13:48Speaker 3: or Walmart or wherever it is. Every distribution piece in
- 13:55Speaker 3: between manufacturer to on the shelf, everybody takes a piece
- 13:59Speaker 3: of that product in terms of profit and revenue. It's
- 14:04Speaker 3: no different in the financial space. When you have a
- 14:07Speaker 3: financial product that's created, it then goes through a process
- 14:12Speaker 3: of distribution to get to your advisor that you're sitting
- 14:16Speaker 3: with that he's then he or she is sharing with you, Hey,
- 14:19Speaker 3: this is what's available. This is what I think you
- 14:21Speaker 3: should be doing. And it's a packaged product. What most
- 14:27Speaker 3: people don't realize that return that they're hoping to get
- 14:33Speaker 3: on that solution is very different of what they're seeing
- 14:38Speaker 3: at that point being delivered to them than what the
- 14:41Speaker 3: return really was when it was created, because that return
- 14:45Speaker 3: has been diminished as it's gone through this distribution channel
- 14:48Speaker 3: to finally get to the traditional advisor that's now sitting
- 14:52Speaker 3: with you talking to you about, hey, these are some
- 14:55Speaker 3: things I think you should do. So that's when I
- 15:00Speaker 3: I learned that it was a massive eye opening experience
- 15:02Speaker 3: to say, well, wait a minute, So the return that
- 15:06Speaker 3: I'm quoting to somebody that they can get from this
- 15:10Speaker 3: fund or this ETF or this whatever it might be,
- 15:14Speaker 3: that and I'm going to use the term retail the
- 15:17Speaker 3: retail return is not what the true wholesale return is.
- 15:25Speaker 1: So everybody's got to get paid along the way.
- 15:27Speaker 3: That's absolutely right. There's a distribution channel in the financial industry,
- 15:31Speaker 3: just like there is with any other manufactured product getting
- 15:34Speaker 3: to where we then buy it.
- 15:36Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, thinking like an entrepreneur, then it's like, well,
- 15:39Speaker 2: then how can I how can I start to have
- 15:41Speaker 2: a relationship with money where I break some of those rules.
- 15:47Speaker 2: Maybe not break rules, but I use money as a
- 15:50Speaker 2: tool to do other things that I don't have to
- 15:53Speaker 2: go through all of these steps. I can be more innovative.
- 15:56Speaker 2: I can be I can decide this is what I'd
- 15:58Speaker 2: like to earn. So what things are out there in
- 16:01Speaker 2: different ways than a traditional way that will earn me
- 16:06Speaker 2: the kind of thing that I want, and just start
- 16:08Speaker 2: questioning kind of everything.
- 16:11Speaker 3: I love that you just presence that, and you a
- 16:15Speaker 3: little bit ago you says the rule, Well, maybe we
- 16:17Speaker 3: don't break the rules. I'd actually like to challenge that.
- 16:21Speaker 2: Okay, I'm all about it, So let's actually break the rules.
- 16:24Speaker 3: Right. Somebody created the rule, and there was a motivation
- 16:29Speaker 3: behind them creating that rule because there was something that
- 16:34Speaker 3: they wanted to either gain or prevent from happening. So
- 16:38Speaker 3: there was a rule created. What if we think about
- 16:42Speaker 3: it differently and say, what if we recreate the rule?
- 16:46Speaker 3: What if we unwind the rule and look at it
- 16:49Speaker 3: differently and create a whole new one.
- 16:52Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, I'm about that.
- 16:54Speaker 3: I love the concept of open architecture because that's that's
- 16:59Speaker 3: what I'm trying to help create with this as an
- 17:01Speaker 3: open architecture where we don't have to follow the prescribed
- 17:06Speaker 3: outline of you do A B and C and you're
- 17:09Speaker 3: gonna get D, E and F. What if we do
- 17:13Speaker 3: a F and JAY and we then get I'm trying
- 17:20Speaker 3: to think about my alphabet here. Just think about it different,
- 17:24Speaker 3: think about it out of a different box than what
- 17:28Speaker 3: is being presented to you. And I encourage people when
- 17:32Speaker 3: they're meeting with me, Look, I'm giving you my life's
- 17:35Speaker 3: experience in what I'm sharing with you and what I'm
- 17:38Speaker 3: putting on the table for you. Question it, get a
- 17:42Speaker 3: second opinion, look at it differently, See how it feels
- 17:47Speaker 3: to you, See how it lands to you. If it's
- 17:49Speaker 3: feeling a little uncomfortable to you, I'm going to encourage
- 17:52Speaker 3: you to say that's good, because that's pushing you to
- 17:56Speaker 3: then open the box that you've been in, the true
- 18:00Speaker 3: additional advisory world has put you in. But internally, your
- 18:05Speaker 3: internal knowing is saying, get me out of the box.
- 18:10Speaker 3: There's something more. I mean the kinds of experiences that
- 18:13Speaker 3: I have of people that come to me and we
- 18:15Speaker 3: start talking about where they're at and they start saying,
- 18:19Speaker 3: I've never thought about it that way. I didn't even
- 18:22Speaker 3: know that was possible. Of course, you didn't because you
- 18:25Speaker 3: were programmed and conditioned in a different way to think
- 18:28Speaker 3: about it, and I'm going to challenge your programming and
- 18:32Speaker 3: conditioning because if I can get you thinking outside the box,
- 18:37Speaker 3: there's so much more that's available.
- 18:40Speaker 2: Well, and I love that because we talked about it
- 18:42Speaker 2: the other day and it kind of was a light
- 18:45Speaker 2: bulb moment. Again. It was like, well, of course there
- 18:48Speaker 2: are other things. There's just so much that only certain
- 18:51Speaker 2: people have access to. So if all of a sudden
- 18:54Speaker 2: there's a person out there like yourself and you say
- 18:57Speaker 2: I have access to it, and I'll let you have
- 19:00Speaker 2: access to it, It's like, oh wow, that's that's really
- 19:06Speaker 2: a very worthy conversation. And it's it is about access,
- 19:10Speaker 2: you know, it's about access with money. This one is
- 19:12Speaker 2: particularly about money, but it's like access with anything right
- 19:17Speaker 2: that you want to have in your life. It's like, well,
- 19:19Speaker 2: if I want to do anything, I need to first
- 19:23Speaker 2: have someone who has access to that to show me
- 19:25Speaker 2: the way or to tell me what it's about, and
- 19:28Speaker 2: then I can make my decisions.
- 19:30Speaker 1: So true, I mean, just to add something to that,
- 19:33Speaker 1: I had an experience one time in my life where
- 19:36Speaker 1: we it was in my previous relationship, and we had
- 19:40Speaker 1: borrowed money from someone and it was to start a business,
- 19:47Speaker 1: and I wasn't really involved in that. It wasn't my business.
- 19:50Speaker 1: But there was some conflict about how the money was
- 19:54Speaker 1: being spent and all this stuff that was going on.
- 19:57Speaker 1: And the comment was made from the people who had
- 19:59Speaker 1: let lent the money. Is that the right word lended?
- 20:05Speaker 1: I don't know what it is, but they said, he
- 20:08Speaker 1: who has the gold makes the rules, and we were
- 20:14Speaker 1: really subjected to that. And what we're talking about here
- 20:18Speaker 1: in all of this is what we're starting to see
- 20:22Speaker 1: the time has come in our society right now where
- 20:25Speaker 1: we're really starting to question that. Yeah, uh there, you know,
- 20:29Speaker 1: we're there are people rising up against all that. You know,
- 20:33Speaker 1: you see what's happening in Utah with the data center.
- 20:36Speaker 1: We're rising up against those kinds of things. And there
- 20:39Speaker 1: have been these hidden rules and these things that are
- 20:43Speaker 1: underlying where those that have the gold have been able
- 20:46Speaker 1: to take advantage of and get more gold, whereas those
- 20:51Speaker 1: of us who are more in the common area, common
- 20:55Speaker 1: part of the world don't have access to that. And
- 21:00Speaker 1: starting to be realized by everyone, we're starting to see that.
- 21:05Speaker 1: So and I'm not trying to encourage them to do
- 21:07Speaker 1: anyone to do anything, but be skeptical and ask questions,
- 21:13Speaker 1: just like you're saying.
- 21:14Speaker 3: There, we don't know what we don't know. Yeah, And
- 21:17Speaker 3: because we don't know what we don't know, we don't
- 21:20Speaker 3: know what to question, and we get afraid of questioning
- 21:24Speaker 3: outside of the box. And we're that way in many
- 21:27Speaker 3: areas of our lives. I want people to start questioning
- 21:31Speaker 3: their money rules, their money conditioning, their money programming, because
- 21:36Speaker 3: when you do start questioning it, and let's go back
- 21:39Speaker 3: for a second, is there a lack of safety in
- 21:44Speaker 3: questioning the existing money rules that have gotten you to
- 21:49Speaker 3: where you're at? The answer to that question is individual.
- 21:55Speaker 3: Some people may say, yeah, there's a huge lack of
- 21:58Speaker 3: safety if I question the rules and the process and
- 22:02Speaker 3: procedures that got me to where I'm at. I like
- 22:06Speaker 3: to push a little bit on that and encourage them
- 22:09Speaker 3: to say, go deeper, you think that there is a
- 22:14Speaker 3: lack of safety by questioning those rules and thinking about
- 22:18Speaker 3: it differently. But just ask yourself just a little bit,
- 22:22Speaker 3: if I cracked that open, just a wee bit, what
- 22:27Speaker 3: is possible, what's possible? What's out there?
- 22:31Speaker 2: Yeah? And I think this takes people to understand their
- 22:34Speaker 2: core truth and strength because I've worked with entrepreneurs that
- 22:38Speaker 2: have said like, oh but what if I do that
- 22:40Speaker 2: and I fail? And I'm like, okay, well, let's just
- 22:43Speaker 2: look at your life as evidence of failure. You know,
- 22:46Speaker 2: have have you changed? Oh yeah, I've done different jobs
- 22:50Speaker 2: And I'm like, and how many of those have you failed?
- 22:52Speaker 1: That? Well?
- 22:53Speaker 2: None, I said, So failure isn't evidenced in your life. Yeah,
- 22:58Speaker 2: but yet you're afraid to fail. So what's the common denominator?
- 23:02Speaker 2: And they're like, oh, I'm the common denominator. You know.
- 23:07Speaker 2: I'm the one that says, oh, I'm going to make
- 23:09Speaker 2: this work, or I'm going to be committed to it,
- 23:12Speaker 2: or I'm going to figure it out. And so there's
- 23:15Speaker 2: something about them that has made their path show up
- 23:20Speaker 2: that way. It isn't about that the choice was always
- 23:24Speaker 2: the same, The traditional path wasn't some of the path
- 23:29Speaker 2: was not untraditional, but yet they continued to show up
- 23:33Speaker 2: and be who they are. So even picking a non
- 23:36Speaker 2: traditional money path, it's like, but if you show up
- 23:39Speaker 2: still with listening to your intuition, understanding yourself, knowing what
- 23:43Speaker 2: you want, having discernment, those are all your gifts and tools,
- 23:48Speaker 2: then why wouldn't money work for you still yeah, and
- 23:50Speaker 2: I think I'm just sitting here going, oh wow, that's
- 23:54Speaker 2: the question to ask, and that's you know. So it's like, Okay,
- 23:57Speaker 2: then how do I get access to that? Because I'd
- 23:59Speaker 2: like to know all of my options and I'll choose.
- 24:02Speaker 2: It's like kind of being open being allowed to go
- 24:06Speaker 2: in a room that has a much bigger buffet table
- 24:09Speaker 2: and I still have to decide what to eat and
- 24:13Speaker 2: when I'll be full, but I just now have so
- 24:16Speaker 2: many more choices, and so they need someone like yourself
- 24:20Speaker 2: that's giving access to those and teaching you what you
- 24:24Speaker 2: don't know.
- 24:25Speaker 3: One of my favorite questions to ask somebody you know.
- 24:28Speaker 3: And once I've gone through the initial stages of exploring
- 24:32Speaker 3: where somebody is and how did they get there and etcetera,
- 24:34Speaker 3: et cetera, I'll then stop and look at them and
- 24:37Speaker 3: I'll say, you have just and I'll repeat back to
- 24:41Speaker 3: them three or four of the phrases that they have
- 24:43Speaker 3: shared with me, and I'll then say, Scott Ray, whose
- 24:49Speaker 3: voice is in your head telling you that truth? Whose
- 24:55Speaker 3: voice is that? Is it your own? And you know
- 24:58Speaker 3: their eyes they sit there, their eyes open up and
- 25:01Speaker 3: they're like, no, that's Dad or that's mom, or it's
- 25:06Speaker 3: grandpa or grandma. And sometimes they're like, Bob, I don't
- 25:10Speaker 3: know what you're talking about. What do you mean? Whose
- 25:12Speaker 3: voice is that? And it's an interesting conversation that evolves
- 25:17Speaker 3: of when I help them unwind and unpack their again,
- 25:21Speaker 3: it's programming and conditioning. Why do you speak that way
- 25:27Speaker 3: about money? Why do you speak that way about your
- 25:31Speaker 3: current financial status? Most times it's not your voice, it's
- 25:38Speaker 3: somebody else's voice that you're echoing that they have told
- 25:41Speaker 3: you this is the way it is, or this is
- 25:42Speaker 3: the way it has to be, or this is how
- 25:44Speaker 3: we do it right. So all these things play into
- 25:52Speaker 3: my experiences over twenty three years of and why I
- 25:57Speaker 3: then said, no, I'm going to buck the system. I'm
- 26:01Speaker 3: going to change how people think about their money, and
- 26:06Speaker 3: we're going to do it in a really revolutionary and
- 26:09Speaker 3: evolutionary way. And that's why I created my company, Non
- 26:12Speaker 3: Traditional Financial Solutions and TFS for short. It's also why
- 26:17Speaker 3: we have created our trademark system called the Prosperity Code.
- 26:23Speaker 3: And it's in there, and I hope when people hear
- 26:29Speaker 3: the word Prosperity Code, I hope what is evoked in
- 26:35Speaker 3: them or what comes up in them as well. He's
- 26:38Speaker 3: talking about this code thing. How do I break the code?
- 26:42Speaker 3: You're talking about breaking the rules, right, how do I
- 26:44Speaker 3: break into the code, or how do I more importantly,
- 26:47Speaker 3: how do I get what the Prosperity code has to
- 26:51Speaker 3: offer me? And so the cipher or the key to
- 26:56Speaker 3: the prosperity code, if you will and Lee are array
- 26:59Speaker 3: you already referred to this earlier. It's access. The key
- 27:04Speaker 3: to the Prosperity Code is access. Having access to things
- 27:09Speaker 3: that you haven't had up to this point, and having
- 27:14Speaker 3: access to things that you haven't had available to you
- 27:18Speaker 3: up to this point opens you up to a whole
- 27:21Speaker 3: new world. It's like any other area in our life.
- 27:24Speaker 3: When we learned something new, or when we break through
- 27:27Speaker 3: a either self imposed or some other societal or family
- 27:32Speaker 3: created limitation, we have a whole new world that opens
- 27:36Speaker 3: up to us. And that's what's available in the financial
- 27:40Speaker 3: world and in your money and things as well. So
- 27:44Speaker 3: the ray you're smiling, yeah, because.
- 27:46Speaker 2: We were talking earlier about just other aspects of our lives, right,
- 27:50Speaker 2: and we were basically saying this very same thing. It's
- 27:53Speaker 2: when we were talking about going to Greece and seeing
- 27:57Speaker 2: all these things, and it's like, it's when you open
- 27:59Speaker 2: yourself up to t travel and go to other countries.
- 28:01Speaker 2: It's when you're, you know, eighteen years old and you
- 28:04Speaker 2: open yourself up to leaving from home. It's when you
- 28:09Speaker 2: you know, it's about opening up to what else can
- 28:14Speaker 2: be known, and that is an aspect of living. So
- 28:19Speaker 2: why wouldn't that same thing, Well, if that applies to
- 28:22Speaker 2: the way I learn and the way I experience the world,
- 28:26Speaker 2: and I experience cultures, I experience languages, you know, anything else,
- 28:31Speaker 2: why wouldn't that apply then to money? Of course it does.
- 28:34Speaker 3: What I'm hearing in there, and I love this so much.
- 28:37Speaker 3: What I'm hearing in there is curiosity. Yeah, if somebody
- 28:41Speaker 3: doesn't have a curiosity, a drive something in them, that's saying, man,
- 28:48Speaker 3: it could be just a little bit better, or what
- 28:51Speaker 3: if or you know, I want to know more about.
- 28:54Speaker 3: If someone doesn't have some degree of curiosity, I can't
- 28:58Speaker 3: help them. Yeah, I can't help them because if somebody
- 29:03Speaker 3: is okay staying in the box, and honestly and truthfully,
- 29:07Speaker 3: let's call this what it is, it's okay for some
- 29:10Speaker 3: people to stay in that box that's been created for
- 29:14Speaker 3: whatever reason. They're fine to stay there. I really thrive
- 29:20Speaker 3: on helping the people that have even just one degree
- 29:23Speaker 3: of curiosity, who say, mm, internally, there is more. There
- 29:29Speaker 3: is more to this. I'm not sure what it is.
- 29:32Speaker 3: I need someone to help me open that up. If
- 29:36Speaker 3: they'll come to me with one degree of curiosity, I
- 29:39Speaker 3: can open up a whole new world for them.
- 29:42Speaker 2: Yeah, that's fast. I'm not the one doing all the talking, Honey.
- 29:47Speaker 2: You handle the money well. But it's even you know,
- 29:51Speaker 2: it's like with anything else, it's if I'm pushed. Like
- 29:55Speaker 2: you said, if they want to stay in the traditional box,
- 29:57Speaker 2: that's okay, because what will happen is if you try
- 29:59Speaker 2: to put push them from the traditional box, they will
- 30:03Speaker 2: constantly look at evidence that that's where they should remain.
- 30:07Speaker 2: So true and so, because you know, we've tried to
- 30:10Speaker 2: push friends and others to like explore other beliefs about
- 30:15Speaker 2: you know, traveling, or other beliefs about work, like Scott
- 30:18Speaker 2: pushed the envelope. We pushed the envelope early when we
- 30:23Speaker 2: got married and decided that Scott working full time was
- 30:28Speaker 2: not going to be healthy for our relationship, and so
- 30:32Speaker 2: we took a very non traditional Now I would definitely
- 30:35Speaker 2: use those words non traditional path and said you stop working.
- 30:40Speaker 2: And when people heard that, they were like what and
- 30:44Speaker 2: immediately started looking for evidence to turn back to us
- 30:48Speaker 2: and say, see, Scott should work. Yeah, see Scott should work.
- 30:53Speaker 2: Like if anything happened, they would come back and point
- 30:57Speaker 2: us back to the box, like, get back in the box. See,
- 31:00Speaker 2: this is why Scott not working is not the way
- 31:03Speaker 2: to go. But we didn't do that.
- 31:06Speaker 1: What they weren't seeing Maybe they were making assumptions that
- 31:08Speaker 1: I just had my feet propped up on a chair
- 31:10Speaker 1: watching TV or whatever.
- 31:12Speaker 2: You know, Yeah, you were doing all sorts of.
- 31:14Speaker 1: I was doing all sorts of things. They weren't paying money,
- 31:17Speaker 1: but there were things that I needed to experience.
- 31:21Speaker 2: Because now I look at our life. Okay, fast forward
- 31:25Speaker 2: fourteen years, and I tell people all the time, we
- 31:28Speaker 2: could not have goal set our way here to where
- 31:32Speaker 2: we are, to how abundant our life is, how abundoned
- 31:37Speaker 2: our relationship is, the opportunities and things that we're doing,
- 31:42Speaker 2: about the kind of work he's doing, the kind of
- 31:45Speaker 2: work I'm doing or wanting to do. We couldn't have
- 31:48Speaker 2: goal set our way here because first of all, we
- 31:51Speaker 2: couldn't We didn't know here even was possible.
- 31:54Speaker 1: I couldn't have even imagined that I would be teaching
- 32:01Speaker 1: flute lessons on my patio, or facilitating drum circles for people, or.
- 32:07Speaker 2: Working in healing circles with men in men's circles. Yes,
- 32:11Speaker 2: I mean we would. We didn't even have that language.
- 32:16Speaker 2: So we had to trust through curiosity and knowing the
- 32:20Speaker 2: intuition of knowing this is not going to work. You
- 32:24Speaker 2: working and coming home stressed is not going to be
- 32:28Speaker 2: work for our relationship. So we because of what we
- 32:31Speaker 2: wanted in our relationship, we became curious about all the
- 32:35Speaker 2: other things and made the relationship the most important thing.
- 32:39Speaker 1: Well, I'm not gonna lie. I mean when we were
- 32:41Speaker 1: driving down the road one day and she said, and
- 32:43Speaker 1: I was totally stressed out because of work, and she said,
- 32:46Speaker 1: you need to quit, and I was just like, yeah, no,
- 32:50Speaker 1: I can't. You know, I've got too many obligations I need.
- 32:53Speaker 1: This is the amount of money I need every month,
- 32:55Speaker 1: and where we You're not at a point in your
- 32:59Speaker 1: work that's going to happen yet, so you know we
- 33:03Speaker 1: got to wait. Well we just said no, we're not waiting.
- 33:09Speaker 1: We're going to do it. And when we made that decision,
- 33:13Speaker 1: what we needed showed up.
- 33:15Speaker 2: Its started to flow to us.
- 33:17Speaker 1: It has continued to show up over and over and
- 33:20Speaker 1: over when we needed it because we stopped limiting ourselves
- 33:26Speaker 1: by the way we believed, by our story, our.
- 33:28Speaker 3: Story and the voices in your head that we're coming
- 33:32Speaker 3: from other people. In most cases, Scott, you can't quit,
- 33:37Speaker 3: you can't retire. And you know there's the can't word,
- 33:42Speaker 3: but it's somebody else's conditioning and programming that you were
- 33:46Speaker 3: plugged into. That was your immediate response that says, no,
- 33:50Speaker 3: I can't. And then when you get curious and when
- 33:54Speaker 3: you step back a little bit, and when you open
- 33:57Speaker 3: yourself to what is possible, magic happens. The other thing
- 34:03Speaker 3: that I wanted to mention here too, Loree, you were
- 34:05Speaker 3: talking about those that were, I mean, kind of let's
- 34:07Speaker 3: call it what it was, the naysayers. This says, you know,
- 34:10Speaker 3: see I told you Scott should go back to work,
- 34:12Speaker 3: et cetera, et cetera. The thing, and we all know this,
- 34:16Speaker 3: The thing that we have to ask ourselves is what
- 34:20Speaker 3: was happening in them? What was happening in them that
- 34:25Speaker 3: Scott's retiring was hitting a trigger point or a trauma
- 34:29Speaker 3: point or something in them that they then says, I'm
- 34:35Speaker 3: feeling unsafe with Scott's concept of retiring. Something was happening
- 34:40Speaker 3: inside them right though. They were so uncomfortable they were
- 34:44Speaker 3: they couldn't sit with them. I mean, whoever it was,
- 34:46Speaker 3: and God bless them, you know whatever it was the
- 34:49Speaker 3: conditioning and programming in their mind that was saying, no,
- 34:52Speaker 3: Scott's got to go back to work. See this isn't working.
- 34:55Speaker 3: It's an It's an amazing thing to sit back and
- 34:58Speaker 3: look at as an observer and say, wow, look at
- 35:03Speaker 3: that cycle. Look at what was happening there. They were
- 35:06Speaker 3: repeating words that someone else had told them that kept
- 35:10Speaker 3: them in the box, or that was keeping them in
- 35:12Speaker 3: a place of safety and security, which is a facade
- 35:17Speaker 3: right right, But they're so they felt free to voice
- 35:22Speaker 3: something about, see, Scott, you need to go back to
- 35:23Speaker 3: work because of blah blah blah, whatever it is. But
- 35:27Speaker 3: it's really fascinating for me to sit there with a
- 35:29Speaker 3: couple especially, and one of them will start expressing their
- 35:34Speaker 3: money conditioning and programming, and one of the others will
- 35:37Speaker 3: object to it, or you know, I sometimes I had
- 35:40Speaker 3: to put my family counselor hat on and say, hey,
- 35:44Speaker 3: let's step back and let's navigate this because both of
- 35:47Speaker 3: you are coming to this from two vastly different upbringings
- 35:51Speaker 3: and experiences and programming and conditioning. Let's find the common
- 35:55Speaker 3: ground in this that then gives us a place where
- 35:58Speaker 3: we can build and grow for and quite frankly, guys,
- 36:02Speaker 3: your common ground is going to be non traditional. Yeah,
- 36:06Speaker 3: it's not something you're used to sitting with because you've
- 36:09Speaker 3: not had these kinds of discussions before, and it's okay.
- 36:14Speaker 3: And the kind of options yeah, yeah, you know, to
- 36:17Speaker 3: watch people get really unsettled in a meeting because they're
- 36:22Speaker 3: starting to open to something. I think it's magical. I
- 36:26Speaker 3: think it's beautiful, and I love watching that, and I
- 36:28Speaker 3: like to call it out and to say, look, what
- 36:31Speaker 3: I'm observing you experiencing right now is discomfort because you've
- 36:37Speaker 3: now stepped into a space that's unfamiliar to you. I'm
- 36:42Speaker 3: here for you, I've got your back. We're going to
- 36:44Speaker 3: step into this together and I'm going to shepherd you
- 36:47Speaker 3: through this process and the discomfort you're feeling right now
- 36:52Speaker 3: will become very The discomfort doesn't become comfortable, but I'm
- 36:58Speaker 3: going to transform that disco comfort into a place of
- 37:01Speaker 3: comfort for you. There's going to be a whole new
- 37:04Speaker 3: reality for you. And that's you know again, I come
- 37:07Speaker 3: back to the prosperity code. What is the prosperity code.
- 37:11Speaker 3: It's a proven, predictable process for designing the prosperous life
- 37:15Speaker 3: and financial abundance you desire. There's a lot of words
- 37:19Speaker 3: in there that people aren't familiar with and they're uncomfortable with.
- 37:25Speaker 3: But if I can get them being curious about it,
- 37:27Speaker 3: we can open up magic for them.
- 37:31Speaker 2: Yeah, that's cool.
- 37:33Speaker 3: That's very cool, babe, you're silent. Were there anything you
- 37:37Speaker 3: want to add?
- 37:39Speaker 4: I have a billion things to say, but everybody says
- 37:42Speaker 4: all the good stuff just from an outside perspective. Like
- 37:46Speaker 4: I had zero experience with the whole financial investment planning
- 37:53Speaker 4: side of things. My parents were entrepreneurs and self employed
- 37:58Speaker 4: and we were just juggling cash flow because that rules, yeah,
- 38:02Speaker 4: and the investments were always back into the same family business.
- 38:05Speaker 4: They weren't into outside entities, and so the whole thing
- 38:09Speaker 4: was very new to me. And I've learned so much
- 38:13Speaker 4: just being in your orbit. And this is an intimidating
- 38:21Speaker 4: industry if you have no experience there, and I think
- 38:24Speaker 4: that's why a huge portion of the population just trusts
- 38:28Speaker 4: whatever expert happens to be plopped in their lap. If
- 38:32Speaker 4: it's if you work for a big corporation and you
- 38:34Speaker 4: have a four to oh one k, you just do what
- 38:36Speaker 4: the company directs. You go to the meetings and the
- 38:39Speaker 4: they tell you how to do things, and it's intimidating.
- 38:42Speaker 4: It's like, you know, when you're in school, everybody's scared
- 38:44Speaker 4: of math class unless you're a math geek and you're
- 38:47Speaker 4: good at it. But most people try to avoid those
- 38:49Speaker 4: things that they feel uncomfortable with, and so it's intimidating
- 38:53Speaker 4: if you have no experience. Work became optional for me
- 38:59Speaker 4: a few months ago. I like that term instead of
- 39:03Speaker 4: retiring work optional work option. I could work if I
- 39:05Speaker 4: want to, but I don't have to, and I'm doing
- 39:07Speaker 4: it differently and at the same time, which is so
- 39:10Speaker 4: fascinating to me. That work became optional and my traditional
- 39:14Speaker 4: paycheck stopped. I placed my first actual true investment in
- 39:22Speaker 4: the same time period. So those things to me feel
- 39:26Speaker 4: like they would be contradictory and mutually exclusive and opposite
- 39:31Speaker 4: ends of the spectrum. That in the same time period
- 39:34Speaker 4: that my regular paychecks stop. I actually have enough money.
- 39:39Speaker 4: I have enough abundance in my account to place something
- 39:43Speaker 4: in an exterior and external investment product. So how's that
- 39:49Speaker 4: for challenging the status quo?
- 39:51Speaker 3: And that was.
- 39:54Speaker 4: And it was scary to me, Like just having a
- 39:57Speaker 4: really abundant savings account felt like a new experience for me.
- 40:03Speaker 4: And then to take that and put it into something
- 40:05Speaker 4: that technically has a little risk involved, but also can
- 40:08Speaker 4: make me money. And it's making me money that doesn't
- 40:11Speaker 4: require my own efforts.
- 40:13Speaker 2: Yeah, it's new.
- 40:14Speaker 4: It's all new.
- 40:15Speaker 3: Well, so I want to create Thank you. I love
- 40:19Speaker 3: your input and insight.
- 40:20Speaker 2: It's great. That was great.
- 40:24Speaker 3: So most of us love I'm going to create a
- 40:27Speaker 3: picture here. Most of us love the ocean in one
- 40:32Speaker 3: form or another. Right, sitting there on a beach, you know,
- 40:35Speaker 3: it's people will start talking about retirement, and most times
- 40:38Speaker 3: the image of a beach comes up in the financial
- 40:41Speaker 3: industry exactly. You know, people are sitting on a beach
- 40:45Speaker 3: and sipping a pina colada or you know, whatever it is.
- 40:48Speaker 3: That's the image of retirement and freedom and lifestyle, luxury
- 40:53Speaker 3: and choice. Right. So there there was a book written
- 40:59Speaker 3: by w and Kim and Renee Monborgne. The book is
- 41:05Speaker 3: called Blue Ocean Strategy, so hopefully immediately I say blue ocean,
- 41:11Speaker 3: and there's this image that's that comes to people's mind most.
- 41:18Speaker 3: I mean, I could talk multiple angles of this, but
- 41:22Speaker 3: in the financial industry, there's blue ocean and there's red ocean.
- 41:29Speaker 3: Red ocean is where I spent the most of my career.
- 41:34Speaker 3: It's competitive, it's blood you know, it's bloody. It's shark
- 41:39Speaker 3: infested waters of competition, right, and it's advisors competing for
- 41:47Speaker 3: the business from people. What I have created in well,
- 41:56Speaker 3: back in the book they say blue Ocean is a
- 42:00Speaker 3: differentiated value added non competition place and their whole I
- 42:09Speaker 3: mean this is it's a unbelievable landmark book in strategy literature.
- 42:16Speaker 3: It's an amazing book. But I have created a blue
- 42:21Speaker 3: Ocean strategy. With what we do at NTFS, We're taking
- 42:25Speaker 3: people out of the shark infested waters of multiple advisors
- 42:31Speaker 3: vying for somebody's business and people trying to place their
- 42:35Speaker 3: money into investments that have been packaged and repackaged. And
- 42:40Speaker 3: they look, smell, and taste differently, but really, at the
- 42:43Speaker 3: end of the day, it's the same thing. Because advisors
- 42:46Speaker 3: in the financial industry are taking a limited number of
- 42:50Speaker 3: in most cases, publicly traded companies, and they're trying to
- 42:54Speaker 3: create investments and package them up into a way that
- 43:00Speaker 3: they can sell. Right by stepping into a blue ocean
- 43:05Speaker 3: where we don't have that competition with other advisors, nor
- 43:09Speaker 3: do you have the same kind of competition with the
- 43:11Speaker 3: investment strategies and solutions that you're working in. It opens
- 43:16Speaker 3: up a magical new world to where the options available
- 43:21Speaker 3: to you are second to none. You're not competing. You know,
- 43:28Speaker 3: most people they hear the stock market up and down,
- 43:30Speaker 3: et cetera, et cetera. That creates, whether they know it
- 43:35Speaker 3: or not, it's creating a nervous system reaction inside of them,
- 43:41Speaker 3: and it creates a fear. I'm taking people out of
- 43:46Speaker 3: that red ocean, fear based place, and I'm putting them
- 43:50Speaker 3: in a blue ocean that's a whole new swimming experience
- 43:54Speaker 3: where you don't have the sharks and you don't have
- 43:56Speaker 3: those dangerous things that are coming at you. And we're
- 43:59Speaker 3: doing that in process through the Prosperity Code. And we're
- 44:04Speaker 3: doing that in solutions and strategies that give you the
- 44:09Speaker 3: peace of mind, the safety and the security that you've
- 44:12Speaker 3: never had before because you didn't know what was possible.
- 44:15Speaker 3: You didn't know these things that were even existing there.
- 44:19Speaker 3: You weren't a part of the good old boy network
- 44:21Speaker 3: or the ultra high net worth where you had access
- 44:24Speaker 3: to things that retail investors don't have access to. Just
- 44:30Speaker 3: start asking the questions and start looking at things differently,
- 44:34Speaker 3: and I can open up a whole new world for
- 44:36Speaker 3: people into these blue ocean strategies and solutions that have
- 44:41Speaker 3: been reserved for ultra high net worth people that make
- 44:45Speaker 3: them a lot of money without the kind of risk
- 44:48Speaker 3: that most traditional advisors are putting you in in traditional
- 44:53Speaker 3: market spaces. It's a very very different experience. And to
- 44:58Speaker 3: have people come back and and comment about that, I mean,
- 45:02Speaker 3: it's it's magical. Does the name Kevin Harrington mean anything
- 45:08Speaker 3: to you? Kevin Kevin is the original shark from Shark Tank. Okay,
- 45:14Speaker 3: not Kevin O'Leary. Kevin Harrington was the original shark who
- 45:18Speaker 3: created Shark Tank. So the gentleman that I co authored
- 45:23Speaker 3: my book with Scott is personal friends with Kevin Harrington.
- 45:29Speaker 3: Scott told Kevin about what I'm doing. Kevin then invited
- 45:35Speaker 3: me to be interviewed by him for a He has
- 45:38Speaker 3: a process, a program called Business Icons. It's not a
- 45:43Speaker 3: big media publicized kind of a thing, but he will
- 45:46Speaker 3: interview people who are doing very unique things in the
- 45:49Speaker 3: marketplace and you know, promotes that. So anyway, Kevin found
- 45:56Speaker 3: out about what I was doing with non traditional financial
- 45:59Speaker 3: solution and invited me back to Pennsylvania to be interviewed
- 46:02Speaker 3: by him, and we did that interview in January of
- 46:05Speaker 3: twenty twenty five. You can find it on my website,
- 46:09Speaker 3: et cetera. That was a very unique experience and to
- 46:14Speaker 3: have a you know, multi billionaire person who had created
- 46:20Speaker 3: amazing things want to hear about our story because it's different,
- 46:26Speaker 3: it's out of the box. It's you know, giving people
- 46:30Speaker 3: access again talk access, access to things that they've never
- 46:34Speaker 3: had before. And this is a billionaire who's sitting there
- 46:36Speaker 3: asking me questions and learning about things that he'd never
- 46:40Speaker 3: heard about before. So it's a really cool process and
- 46:45Speaker 3: it's a lot of fun to talk about as long
- 46:48Speaker 3: as someone will open themselves.
- 46:50Speaker 2: Up to it.
- 46:52Speaker 3: That's why I wrote the book Retire on Your Terms.
- 46:54Speaker 3: I mean, it's co authored with my good friend Scott Keffer.
- 46:58Speaker 3: Scott is a national renowned author and speaker and coach.
- 47:05Speaker 3: He invited me to co author the book with him
- 47:08Speaker 3: because of the unique things that we're creating and doing.
- 47:11Speaker 2: That's so cool.
- 47:12Speaker 3: So there's some amazing things out there if people will
- 47:16Speaker 3: just open themselves up to it. And that's, you know,
- 47:18Speaker 3: honestly and truthfully, that's my message is get curious, open
- 47:23Speaker 3: yourself up to other possibilities that you've never thought about before.
- 47:29Speaker 3: And sometimes maybe they give me a call and we
- 47:32Speaker 3: have a little bit of a discussion and it sets
- 47:34Speaker 3: them on a path that you know they will it
- 47:38Speaker 3: will change them forever.
- 47:40Speaker 2: So this may be obvious, but you know, in the book,
- 47:43Speaker 2: you share your story some of the In fact, I
- 47:45Speaker 2: was laughing like the whole money doesn't grow on trees,
- 47:49Speaker 2: that was one. And unless you're like an orange producer
- 47:52Speaker 2: or something, and that money does grow on trees. Right.
- 47:55Speaker 2: I have a brother who my dad actually and my
- 47:58Speaker 2: brother continues that they they raise cattle, and so you know,
- 48:02Speaker 2: after the rain and you're at the farm, my dad
- 48:05Speaker 2: would often take a deep breath in and it'd say, oh,
- 48:08Speaker 2: it smells like money, and I'd be like, smells like poop.
- 48:12Speaker 2: You know, it's just the perspective right of seeing it.
- 48:15Speaker 2: But how has your life changed as you discovered this
- 48:21Speaker 2: prosperity code and you and you started to work with
- 48:23Speaker 2: it and you followed your own intuition. And you've talked
- 48:26Speaker 2: a little bit about what it's like to have couples
- 48:30Speaker 2: and others come in and see their curiosity grow. How
- 48:34Speaker 2: is all of that changing Bob's life.
- 48:38Speaker 3: H that's juicy. Thank you for asking that question at
- 48:45Speaker 3: this So you know, so first and foremost, I've had
- 48:51Speaker 3: to take myself through the process, and I'm still going
- 48:54Speaker 3: through the process. I'm not the all knowing swami, right
- 48:59Speaker 3: I I love to surround myself with experts, people that
- 49:05Speaker 3: have been there, done that know things that I don't know,
- 49:10Speaker 3: and then for me to give people access to it.
- 49:14Speaker 3: So this has been a learning, growing curiosity process for
- 49:18Speaker 3: me to step outside of the traditional box that I
- 49:21Speaker 3: was raised in in the industry and to say no,
- 49:24Speaker 3: I'm going to do it differently for me and for
- 49:27Speaker 3: my clients. The stories after stories that I could share
- 49:34Speaker 3: with you about how people's lives have changed have been
- 49:39Speaker 3: the story changing life changing process for me. My life
- 49:48Speaker 3: has changed because of implementing these processes and these solutions,
- 49:53Speaker 3: These ideas the reconditioning and reprogramming myself because man, as
- 49:59Speaker 3: we talk about, you know, in the book on page
- 50:03Speaker 3: twenty one, that's what you were just referring to Ray
- 50:06Speaker 3: of all of those conditioning things that I grew up with,
- 50:10Speaker 3: I've had to challenge every single one of those. And
- 50:14Speaker 3: you know, in my book, I talk about another book
- 50:16Speaker 3: that's transformational for me called Money Is My Friend, written
- 50:20Speaker 3: by Phil Lott. And money has not always been my friend.
- 50:26Speaker 3: Money has been a nemesis to me. Money has been
- 50:28Speaker 3: an obstacle to me. Money has been an enemy to me.
- 50:32Speaker 3: I have had to learn to make money my friend,
- 50:36Speaker 3: and in doing that, my life has been unbelievably I'm
- 50:44Speaker 3: trying to think of a different word than a traditional
- 50:46Speaker 3: word that I have usually used, but my life has
- 50:50Speaker 3: been unbelievably opened up to abundance and prosperity in ways
- 50:56Speaker 3: that I would have never dreamed and imagined. And one
- 50:59Speaker 3: of the most significant and impactful areas of abundance and
- 51:04Speaker 3: prosperity for me has been watching the transformation in the
- 51:08Speaker 3: lives of my clients and friends and family who adopt
- 51:12Speaker 3: these principles. Because they're true principles, you don't have to
- 51:18Speaker 3: take my word for it, but let me prove it
- 51:20Speaker 3: to you, right right. So, I don't know if that
- 51:23Speaker 3: answers your question, Ray, but my life is full of
- 51:27Speaker 3: abundance and prosperity financially, yes, but relationally, energetically, spiritually, intellectually,
- 51:37Speaker 3: physically because of giving myself space for the curiosity that's
- 51:46Speaker 3: been transformational for me.
- 51:48Speaker 4: There's a couple of these here that I just wanted
- 51:50Speaker 4: to share and kind of use these as an example.
- 51:55Speaker 4: Success requires sacrifice and worthwhile is ever easy. So those
- 52:03Speaker 4: two seem like very sound I don't know, true advice
- 52:08Speaker 4: that we've all been told, but when you challenge those two,
- 52:12Speaker 4: it opens you up to a different type of abundance,
- 52:14Speaker 4: especially that nothing worthwhile is ever easy? Well, but what
- 52:17Speaker 4: if it is? And I've witnessed as Bob's delved more
- 52:22Speaker 4: into these concepts and this process and developing this program,
- 52:27Speaker 4: that his life has become more easeful. He's always been
- 52:31Speaker 4: a very dedicated, hard working you know, he's not a
- 52:37Speaker 4: he's not a lazy he's not a lazy bone in
- 52:39Speaker 4: his body. But as he's really embraced this, he has
- 52:44Speaker 4: an abundance of time and an abundance of more easeful living
- 52:51Speaker 4: instead of the I got to sit at my desk
- 52:54Speaker 4: until I fall asleep with my face and the keyboard
- 52:57Speaker 4: kind of mentality, like there's there's the abundant is there
- 53:00Speaker 4: and it doesn't have to be hard well.
- 53:03Speaker 1: And I love that, you know, I worked with Yes,
- 53:08Speaker 1: I work with men quite a bit, and in some
- 53:10Speaker 1: of the Zoom meetings and in person meetings that we've
- 53:15Speaker 1: all had together, I mean consistently and not to see
- 53:20Speaker 1: that women don't have the same thing. But this is
- 53:22Speaker 1: my experience of talking with men and experiencing what they're
- 53:25Speaker 1: going through CONSISTENTLYP top three stressors in life. That's why
- 53:34Speaker 1: it's never not the top three. So how important would
- 53:40Speaker 1: just you know, for the listeners out there, how important
- 53:43Speaker 1: would it be for you in your life, whether you're
- 53:44Speaker 1: a man or a woman, to not have that be
- 53:48Speaker 1: like one of the top three stressors. And you say
- 53:51Speaker 1: that being money money, Yeah, And when you say money too,
- 53:57Speaker 1: it's it's not even the physical money, it's just the
- 54:01Speaker 1: the peace of mind that comes with not having to
- 54:03Speaker 1: have that be the thing that when I go to
- 54:06Speaker 1: sleep at night, I have to num renumerate about that.
- 54:15Speaker 1: I have to just ruminate, ruminate, that's the one ruminate
- 54:18Speaker 1: about that in my mind for the first hour as
- 54:21Speaker 1: I try to go to sleep.
- 54:23Speaker 3: You know that's because that creates RESTful sleep, right.
- 54:26Speaker 1: Right, And as you're in that and you're you know,
- 54:29Speaker 1: now I'm dreaming about who knows what? And you know
- 54:34Speaker 1: I I me having the opportunity to stop that, stop
- 54:40Speaker 1: the working part. That doesn't mean that there weren't still
- 54:43Speaker 1: money stressors. It doesn't mean that there weren't still things
- 54:47Speaker 1: and obligations that needed to be met. But I I
- 54:51Speaker 1: shifted my energy around that. I stopped the worry. I
- 54:57Speaker 1: think worry attracts more worry, no matter what it is,
- 55:02Speaker 1: whether it's about money or anything else. And I started
- 55:05Speaker 1: to live more in the present moment and be okay
- 55:08Speaker 1: with whatever came up, not expecting something, but allowing things
- 55:13Speaker 1: to just unfold and living in that space.
- 55:17Speaker 3: I have to go ahead.
- 55:18Speaker 2: No, you answer, because mine's another question. So you answered,
- 55:23Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 55:24Speaker 3: Was there a question I was gonna you were going to.
- 55:29Speaker 2: No?
- 55:30Speaker 3: I So I've had people, so I've written this book
- 55:33Speaker 3: right retire on your terms. I have a lot of
- 55:36Speaker 3: people say, well, how come I can't buy it? How
- 55:38Speaker 3: come you're not selling it because I'm not trying to
- 55:42Speaker 3: make money off the book. I will give a copy
- 55:45Speaker 3: of that book to anybody who requests it. That's part
- 55:50Speaker 3: of being curious. Request the book, step out of what
- 55:55Speaker 3: you have currently been doing and make a different action.
- 56:01Speaker 3: It's part of my abundance and prosperity for me to
- 56:04Speaker 3: give the book. I don't want to be compensated for
- 56:08Speaker 3: the book. That doesn't do anything for me. I didn't
- 56:12Speaker 3: write the book to become a New York Times bestseller
- 56:15Speaker 3: and make all this money from a book. There's nothing
- 56:19Speaker 3: wrong with that. That was not my intention.
- 56:21Speaker 2: With the book.
- 56:23Speaker 3: My intention with the book is to educate people and
- 56:28Speaker 3: not have it be a burden for them to start
- 56:32Speaker 3: thinking differently.
- 56:34Speaker 2: And that was the question. I'm glad you said that,
- 56:36Speaker 2: because that was kind of the question I was going with,
- 56:38Speaker 2: because it says retire on your term. So of course
- 56:41Speaker 2: that word retires speaks really loud to me, to us
- 56:45Speaker 2: right now and then, But what if I'm thirty? You
- 56:49Speaker 2: know what if I'm thirty, I'm like, oh, I'm not
- 56:51Speaker 2: near retirement. But isn't that the perfect time to get curious?
- 56:55Speaker 3: Honey?
- 56:55Speaker 2: You know what if I'm like, you know forty and
- 56:58Speaker 2: I don't yet, have you know X amount in a
- 57:01Speaker 2: four oh one k or whatever? Is that the time
- 57:04Speaker 2: to be curious? So do you have parameters around when
- 57:08Speaker 2: curious when you can start those curious conversations or is
- 57:11Speaker 2: it really about whenever you're curious, let's start the conversation
- 57:15Speaker 2: the latter.
- 57:16Speaker 3: Whenever as somebody is curious, that's the right time to
- 57:19Speaker 3: start the conversation. I don't care what your age is,
- 57:23Speaker 3: or your financial or your financial savings and status. You know,
- 57:27Speaker 3: depending upon someone's current financial situation, they may or may
- 57:32Speaker 3: not have the means to take advantage of some of
- 57:35Speaker 3: the things that are there.
- 57:36Speaker 2: Let's at least.
- 57:37Speaker 3: Have the dialogue. Let's at least start the conversation, because
- 57:43Speaker 3: that's going to set you on a path that you're
- 57:45Speaker 3: not currently on right and that can happen at any
- 57:49Speaker 3: age late twenties, eighties, doesn't matter. Start the conversation by
- 57:59Speaker 3: giving your self, well, I'm gonna use this phrase, honor
- 58:02Speaker 3: yourself and the curiosity that's coming up inside you. If
- 58:08Speaker 3: there is just one degree of curiosity, honor that because
- 58:13Speaker 3: that's a part of your divinity telling you that there
- 58:16Speaker 3: is more, and there is something additional for you to receive,
- 58:23Speaker 3: and by receiving that means you can also then start
- 58:26Speaker 3: giving more. So that's a beautiful cycle of when you
- 58:32Speaker 3: open yourself up to receive, then you also become a
- 58:35Speaker 3: vessel for being able to give more.
- 58:38Speaker 1: I think that that is a an untapped into energy
- 58:44Speaker 1: for human beings that if they'll really get it and
- 58:47Speaker 1: find whatever it is in their life that they're passionate about.
- 58:51Speaker 1: I remember when I first when I first started playing music,
- 58:54Speaker 1: and we would do events or facilitate or retreats or
- 58:59Speaker 1: or sound basket stuff for people. In the very beginning,
- 59:03Speaker 1: I said, I've got a Venmo account, so any of
- 59:06Speaker 1: the money that we were taking in doing that, I
- 59:09Speaker 1: would put it in my Venmo account. And then what
- 59:12Speaker 1: do you think I used the money for. I use
- 59:14Speaker 1: the money to expand access to more instruments, yeah, more flutes,
- 59:21Speaker 1: more drums, or helping other people find what they needed
- 59:27Speaker 1: to find. This money isn't mine. This is money that
- 59:30Speaker 1: was received from the energy of.
- 59:32Speaker 2: What I was passionate about.
- 59:33Speaker 1: Yes, and then I was taking that and putting it
- 59:36Speaker 1: back into the business quote. But it wasn't business at all.
- 59:42Speaker 1: It was my passion. It was what I was super
- 59:44Speaker 1: passionate about. And I think if just like you're talking about,
- 59:47Speaker 1: you're going to give this book away and that will
- 59:51Speaker 1: help people delve into that curiosity. It'll help them understand
- 59:56Speaker 1: what you're talking about. And for you personally, you don't
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: care whether they do it or not. You're just giving
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: the encouragement for them to do it. And when they
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: do it, and it could be something that's really going
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: to resonate and change lives. The abundance that comes to you, Yes,
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: you get paid, but you also get the abundance of
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: realizing how much this is changing people's lives that they
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: can now go to bed at night and not have
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: to worry.
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: It's an energetic exchange.
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: There, it is right there, right now.
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: That's it.
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: Thank you. That's it, that energetic exchange of I'm actually
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: going to pay you to take a copy of my
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: book off my hands. I'm paying for the shipping for it,
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: right yeah, And I'm going to send it to you
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: because you've asked for it, which means you're open to
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: receiving and Scott, just like you so beautifully shared, I
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: am a grateful recipient of what you have built and created.
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: The two of you.
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: I have a drum sitting in my front room that
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: you and Hugh gave to me, right, Yeah, I didn't
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: pay for that. You out of love gave that to me.
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: And that's what Wendy and I are putting out into
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: the universe with non traditional financial solutions is love. And
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: part of that is coming out through the form of
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: the book. Part of that is coming out in the
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: conversations that we'll have. I have people that I have
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: conversations with who never become my client, but I love
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: those conversations because I get fulfillment through those conversations. I
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: always learned something from somebody, and that energetic exchange just
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: puts things out into the universe that allows for greater expansion,
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: more abundance, more prosperity in always and that's magic to me.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: I got to tell a really short story about Bob
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: Oh Boy. So there was a day when we were
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: at Rewilding and we were all there and a couple
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: of the facilitators where they were doing a presentation, and
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: we all have a little bit of down time that
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: we could do what we wanted to do, and what
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: we wanted to do was sit out by the pond
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: and play music. Yeah, and this isn't something that you
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: had done very much, but that day things just syncd up.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: We went to the place where the music plays and
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: the rhythm was coming through.
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: Music, to the place where the music plays us.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: Where the music plays us exactly. And when that space
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: opened up, you got to experience that. And the reason
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: that I'm so passionate about what I'm passionate about is
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: because I had that experience one day.
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: So when I had that experience for the first time,
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: it was so profound and so just connecting. It came
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: from some place ancient where we when we all used
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: to sit around fires and do that that it It
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: was transformational for me, and I want to give that
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: to other people. So I give drums away, I give
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: flutes away. I if I see someone that taps into
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: that space, they're gonna get something. I don't know what
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: they're gonna get. It might be a frog, those little
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: wooden frogs, you know, But it's there's no difference between
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: that and what I see what you're doing, because that's
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: what it is. It's an energetic exchange. And you're because
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: you've discovered this, you're passionate about this, You're you're and
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: it's really truly it's time for the for humanity to
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: start to see things differently in every way.
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: It's a gift that you have to see it and
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: to see it so non traditional, and to also see
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: that there doesn't have to be boundaries on who has
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: access to it.
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: Yep, old Son works with me. He actually came to
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: me a year and a half or so ago and says, Dad,
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: can I work with you? It's been magic, unbelievable.
- 1:04:10Speaker 4: So I'll second that it's been fabulous.
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: Me and Dylan and Wendy with what we're doing with
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: non traditional financial solutions, we are way showers. Yeah, we're
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: showing people a different way to go and that's when
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: you know better, you can do better.
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: And amen.
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: And the more we can help people know better so
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: that they can do better, it just opens up more
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: of that collective consciousness to a greater awakening for the
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: magic that's there just waiting for people to grasp it.
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: One percent of curiosity is all it takes, and it
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: will open you up to a whole new way of
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: doing life.
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: That's wonderful. So let's get to the punchline. How do
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: people get a hold of you if I now have
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: checked all my boxes. Okay, I'm curious. It's it's now anytime.
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: I don't have to wait till I retire. So how
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: do I get a hold of you?
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: If somebody is a one percent curiosity or curiosity?
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: I like that curiosity.
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: There's a new word.
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: We made it now.
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: A couple of things. So my website www dot non
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: traditional FS dot com, FS and Frank s is in
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: SAM Financial Solutions, So non Traditional FS dot com. They
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: can reach us there, email Bob at Non Traditional FS
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: dot com, or they can call us four three five
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: three seven five three seven five six. Hopefully that numbers
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: once again. That's four three five three seven five three
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: seven five six call now and you can get your
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: genuine get into knife sat.
- 1:06:07Speaker 4: And there's another one of Bob's amazing talents.
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: Yes, I like that, and we'll put all of that
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: in the show notes too, and let people know.
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: Thank you for providing a platform in a space where
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: I can share this. I'm so unbelievably passionate about this
- 1:06:28Speaker 3: and people need to hear that there's options.
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: Yeah, and I love how it just fits with It's
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: just another aspect of living. It's a big aspect of living,
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: but it's one that we've we've been less guided to
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: turn the rocks over, and so now it's time.
- 1:06:45Speaker 4: In my experience, I've come in contact with a lot
- 1:06:49Speaker 4: of people who are very spiritual, who are very gifted
- 1:06:53Speaker 4: in healing ways, and they have a disconnect from this
- 1:06:59Speaker 4: part of their life. They have a big disconnect from
- 1:07:02Speaker 4: the financial world because it's viewed as it's in opposition
- 1:07:06Speaker 4: to what they do. And so then they don't necessarily
- 1:07:11Speaker 4: get compensated for their time, They don't take care of
- 1:07:14Speaker 4: their own financial well being, they don't have that physical
- 1:07:21Speaker 4: safety net, and they just sort of avoid that piece
- 1:07:25Speaker 4: of their life because it feels incongruent or misaligned. And
- 1:07:29Speaker 4: I think that if they were to take a look
- 1:07:32Speaker 4: at the way Bob presents it and read the book
- 1:07:35Speaker 4: or just open your mind, like there's a way to
- 1:07:38Speaker 4: make those things all align. There's a way, Like money
- 1:07:42Speaker 4: is not separate from the rest of you, Like you're
- 1:07:46Speaker 4: part of this earth, you're living in this earth experience,
- 1:07:49Speaker 4: and you have needs and you have like you have
- 1:07:54Speaker 4: a right to have your safety and your financial needs
- 1:07:57Speaker 4: met and to be compensated. That doesn't make you a
- 1:08:01Speaker 4: bad healer or a non spiritual person because you take
- 1:08:05Speaker 4: care of your financial health as well as your physical
- 1:08:07Speaker 4: and spiritual health.
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: I'm so glad you said that, because Scott and I
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: were reflecting on something. We did something that I would
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: never have thought we would have done, but we did this.
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: We ended up working with a coach for a year
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: and amazing woman, Hazel Peacock. And in that I'll never
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: forget the day that she said to Scott. And I
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: can't even remember why this came up, but she said, Scott,
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: you do know it's okay to make a lot of
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: money and still be considered a good guy or someone
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: who's wanting to create like a spiritual experience or be
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: on the path to your own awakening like that those
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: things aren't in alignment. They're not not in alignment that
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: they can totally be in align. And and what happened
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: when she said that to you. I won't speak for you,
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: I'll let you do.
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: I mean, it really shifted my perspective and it made
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: me curious, you know, because I had those old voices
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: in my head. Yeah, and I don't I don't hear
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: the voice of my dad. It's just like culturally, that's
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: it's outside the box to quit work when you're uh
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: fifty one, you know that's outside the box, especially when
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: there's not a plan. Yeah, you know, there's nothing to
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: really fall back on. Well, I had rate to fall
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: back on.
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: Well, But it was also a bigger question about like, well,
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: can I still have humility in my life and have
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: a lot of money? Yeah? Yeah, you know, because maybe
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: that isn't the example, right. So it brought up all
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: these things that he was now seeking to have more
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: balancing his life, about humility and about awakening and about
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: you know, wanting to explore boundaries of beliefs and all
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: of that. And it was like, well, if I go
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: down this path and I'm really not going down the
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: traditional money path, right, And she stopped him, I'll never
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: forget And she said, you know, Scott, I can hear
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: this coming up for you, and I just want you
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: to know that's not true. You can have you can
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: really have.
- 1:10:20Speaker 4: Enlightenment doesn't require poverty.
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: Right, because poverty is expensive to quote Wendy's son, yeah,
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: high school poverty. Poverty is expensive.
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: Poverty is expensive.
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: Well, I uh, and there was a as I was
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: reading through your book and the list of things that
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: were the old you know, recordings or playing in all
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: of our heads. Here was one that came and this
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: came from my religious upbringing. This is a common one
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: that most people know. It's easier for a camel to
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: pass through the eye of a needle than for a
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: rich man to enter heaven. And you know, that one
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: was one I listened to and because it was important
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: for me to attain heaven. Whatever heaven is, whatever heaven
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: was at the time of my concept of it. And
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: I finally, at a certain point in time, realize that
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: I'm in heaven already. Yeah, this is heaven.
- 1:11:17Speaker 4: This moment is absolutely heaven.
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: This is it.
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: Yeah, And I can make this be whatever I want
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: it to be, and I can be curious. And I'm
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: just gonna tell you, Bob, I am curious.
- 1:11:30Speaker 3: Welcome aboard, brother, Thank you.
- 1:11:32Speaker 2: Awesome mission accomplish. This has been awesome. This has been
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: a great conversation.
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: I always loved time with you guys.
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: Yeah, we do too. It's just awesome.
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: Do you feel complete?
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: I do?
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: Yes?
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: When did you feel complete?
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: Absolutely? Thanks for including me.
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: You're welcome, great points.
