- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Hello, dear soul.
- 0:01SPEAKER_00: If you are a boy that is currently being bullied or has been bullied, or if you're a highly sensitive man who was bullied as a child, then this journal entry is for you.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: I'm making this at the request of my husband who is a highly sensitive man and he was bullied as a child, as a young man.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: And he wanted me to create this so that there was something that just said, you're not alone, that to just have someone be compassionate and empathetic to what you're going through.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: Because he said, you know, everyone tried to fix it, and there was just no one that was sort of compassionate and empathetic to what he was going on, what was going on, and just would listen.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: So I think the reason why this is about highly sensitive boys and men is that I think highly sensitive men tend to be the ones that get picked on and bullied because they're, you know, they feel things more deeply.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: This could be perhaps the artistic, artist perhaps you're artistic, or you um love reading and books, or you're maybe considered the nerdy one, or you just have you're slightly different from other people, and maybe you're intuitive and you can know things without really knowing why you know them.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: And that can be yeah, it can just be attract bullies, and that's heartbreaking to me, and it's not it's not okay.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: It just is not okay what what happens in bullying situations.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: So I just want you to know that you're not alone in it.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: And my hope is is that men who have gone through bullying as a child will share some of their stories and will be there in the in the comments to to just help you know that you're not alone.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: And I I hope that that helps with what you're going through.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: And so I'd like to share a bit of my husband's story.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: He has has has given me his story to share with you, because it just to let you know that he understands.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: And I think that it when you go through severe bullying, it can ruin, it can, it can feel like it's ruining your life, and maybe it it it has to some extent.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: And it's it's traumatizing, and that that is a hard, very, very hard thing to go through as a young person.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: So my husband was bullied for two years in uh between he was 14 and 15, and his bully was a rich stupid kid, was how he said.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: Um, he had he had failed a couple of years, two or three years of school, so he was much older than than Ray is my husband, and he was a troublemaker, and um, and so he would make trouble for a lot of people.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: And he didn't give he didn't go into details, and as he as you know, I mean bullying, it's yeah, so but you know, he told his parents, and his parents tried to spoke to the school principal, and the principal said he couldn't do anything about it, probably because the principal was friends with the parents.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: And um yeah, I mean, we we could say all sorts of things, but but the principal didn't do anything, and people said that he should change schools or he should fight back.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: And the thing with being a highly sensitive boy, my husband, you know, he's um very, very intelligent and very he was an empath.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: So empath is is where you can actually feel the feelings of other people in your body, or you know, you're very attuned to the emotions of someone else.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: So he was he called himself a pacifist.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: He never wanted to hurt or harm other people.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: So for him, the idea of beating someone else up didn't, didn't he couldn't, he just couldn't do that.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: And and my husband had the ability to because he was a black belt in karate at 13.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: His father owned a uh like a karate dojo.
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: And um, when this bullying was happening, he had been teaching, teaching full classes of of people, karate, my husband, for I think two years at that point and had been bodybuilding.
- 5:23SPEAKER_00: So my husband had the ability to beat this boy up um and kind of make that happen, but he just he couldn't do that.
- 5:36SPEAKER_00: So if that's that's you or it's it's just it's just difficult.
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: It's uh like a rock and a hard place.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: And I think that um yeah, so he went through that for two years, and he said how how it stopped was that um was that one day he was they were outside and this wasn't he wasn't being bullied at that moment, but what happened is that the kid who was bullying him was beaten up by um some older kids that I think maybe the kid like the the bully was bullying their sibling.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: I think that's what it was.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: So like his older siblings came and beat this kid up, and the bully saw my husband watching him being beaten up, and he never bullied him again because of you know the shame or whatever that was for him.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: So I think, you know, my husband also said that you know, this this idea of karma, and while we don't have to believe in karma, you know, it's kind of that idea of what goes around comes around, is that bullies are gonna bully.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: And at some point they're gonna bully the wrong person.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: And it could be that they continue bullying until they're adults, and that the consequences could be, you know, jail or um, you know, humiliation of some sort, or perhaps even death.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: Um so it doesn't help in the moment when you're being bullied, um, but he just wanted to offer offer that that thought.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: And so I think I think if if you're if you're going through that, I I just want you to know that I I have a heart.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: My husband has a heart to to knowing what that's like.
- 8:01SPEAKER_00: And so please, if you if you would like to share a bit of your story in the comments, I would ask that we all just be really loving and compassionate towards one another and and just really love one another and hold space for the boys.
- 8:21SPEAKER_00: And perhaps it's if you're a man for the boy that in you that was bullied and that that still lives in there, and and that we can perhaps I always think about when when we witness other, when we're witnessed by others, when you know we share what's going on for us, and we have another person that just s listens and hears that and and just says, you know, says some kind words that can be very healing.
- 9:00SPEAKER_00: So I think by by by doing that for one another in the comments, that there is a healing that happens.
- 9:09SPEAKER_00: There is, you know, and when we have a community of of men and and boys that that can just see that, see one another in that, then I think that that can be a really healing, nurturing uh place.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: At least that's my at least that's my hope.
- 9:30SPEAKER_00: So you're not alone.
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: And um, yeah.
- 9:37SPEAKER_00: I'm wishing you so many blessings.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: Signing off for today, XOXO Kate.
