Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: I'm good Deep. I played bass in the band.
- 0:03Speaker 2: I formed the band eighteen years ago and with the
- 0:06Speaker 2: whole idea of just playing music that we love the most.
- 0:10Speaker 2: And back then it was started off with brutal death
- 0:13Speaker 2: metal and grind and now slowly progressing into more thicker
- 0:16Speaker 2: versions of that metal and brute that metal coming.
- 0:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I'm Aaron, I played drums and gut Slid. Uh,
- 0:26Speaker 3: I'm I think I'm the second oldest member in the
- 0:29Speaker 3: lungs running member in the band.
- 0:32Speaker 4: And uh yeah, I mean we uh.
- 0:36Speaker 3: That slid was started in India when there was no
- 0:39Speaker 3: band who was doing music like what we are doing
- 0:44Speaker 3: so good Deep and like you know, the previous iteration
- 0:49Speaker 3: of got slip was like the pioneers of like you know,
- 0:52Speaker 3: brutal death metal, brutal dead grind in India.
- 0:55Speaker 4: So yeah, that's like a little his lesson on Gutslid.
- 0:59Speaker 5: Yeah for use, thanks for joining us. Tonight's supposed to speak.
- 1:01Speaker 4: With you, Yes, Sam, thank you so much.
- 1:05Speaker 6: So we're here to speak about the fact that Kutslit
- 1:08Speaker 6: are headed to Australia very soon for a run of
- 1:10Speaker 6: shows starting in Brisbane on the twenty second of August,
- 1:13Speaker 6: before hitting Sydney, Canberra, Frankston and Hobart. I'm finishing in
- 1:16Speaker 6: Melbourne on August of thirty, so not long ago. Guys,
- 1:19Speaker 6: how are you feeling.
- 1:21Speaker 4: Damn excited? Damn excited? Uh, it's a twenty fifth country
- 1:26Speaker 4: that we're going to be visiting and.
- 1:30Speaker 3: It's like a milestool and that's it, you know, his
- 1:34Speaker 3: feet And Australia has always been a country that we've
- 1:37Speaker 3: been wanting to crack for a long time and it's
- 1:40Speaker 3: finally happening. So we're them happy and with damn stock
- 1:43Speaker 3: to be there.
- 1:45Speaker 1: No.
- 1:46Speaker 6: Now, this is going to be your first ever trip
- 1:48Speaker 6: to Australia in the eighteen years as a band. So
- 1:50Speaker 6: when you go to a place like this is the
- 1:51Speaker 6: first time, do you do a bit of research on it?
- 1:53Speaker 5: Do you ask people what to expect?
- 1:54Speaker 6: Or do you rather come over cold and just take
- 1:56Speaker 6: it as it comes.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Yeah, we just checked the Vedow and we're just gonna
- 2:00Speaker 1: know what to where. That's it.
- 2:06Speaker 2: No, So basically the tie with Australia, or the relationship
- 2:09Speaker 2: with Australia goes way back in time. We had an
- 2:12Speaker 2: album out in twenty twelve and back then we had
- 2:16Speaker 2: a distribution system running where it worked through emails and
- 2:20Speaker 2: through word of mouth. So we had a communication with
- 2:23Speaker 2: Grindhead way back in time and they had asked to
- 2:26Speaker 2: send us a few poppies in trade and just distributed there.
- 2:29Speaker 2: So it's a good relationship that we've had this time around.
- 2:32Speaker 2: We got the connection again done through a very good
- 2:35Speaker 2: friend in Europe and then he connected us to Grindhead
- 2:39Speaker 2: and from there those boys have just taken it up
- 2:41Speaker 2: and they've just, like you know, done all the hard
- 2:44Speaker 2: work behind and all we need to do is just
- 2:46Speaker 2: pack up our aunties and be there.
- 2:49Speaker 6: Nice you churned on the back of my race and
- 2:52Speaker 6: album can all the time. Therea twenty twenty three But
- 2:54Speaker 6: because she first to five here again to give us
- 2:56Speaker 6: a selection from all catalog or are you just going
- 2:58Speaker 6: to focus on that?
- 3:01Speaker 3: It's gonna be a mix of all the albums that
- 3:04Speaker 3: we've done. So it's uh everything from Skewer to Amphitheater
- 3:09Speaker 3: and Karnel, it's a whole mix of that. We just
- 3:12Speaker 3: pring the bangles from all of these, uh uh these
- 3:16Speaker 3: albums that you've put out, and maybe a cover of.
- 3:21Speaker 6: One thing that keeps coming up every time our research
- 3:23Speaker 6: Gutslet don't look at you, guys. Up is your awesome
- 3:26Speaker 6: live show? So run as a typical Guts lit larun shot.
- 3:29Speaker 5: What do you expect.
- 3:31Speaker 1: To dance?
- 3:32Speaker 2: You have to come down and just throw it out there.
- 3:35Speaker 2: It's all about enjoying the music. It's all about enjoying
- 3:38Speaker 2: the mothpits. If you're into like, you know, that kind
- 3:41Speaker 2: of music. If you're into death metal or google death
- 3:44Speaker 2: grind or google that metal or slam, you're gonna get
- 3:46Speaker 2: it all. So you're gonna mix it up for you.
- 3:49Speaker 2: You can just go from the like, you know, the
- 3:51Speaker 2: first song itself and then just be there.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Yeah, and I mean to add to that, I think
- 3:57Speaker 3: the the whole point of Guts when we used to
- 4:01Speaker 3: talk about live shows and everything. Our music might be serious,
- 4:05Speaker 3: you know in terms of the themes and everything, but
- 4:08Speaker 3: we want we've always maintained that we want to put
- 4:11Speaker 3: on a really fun show for the people, so that
- 4:15Speaker 3: you know, as much as the music is serious, we
- 4:19Speaker 3: are not real. Like we like to have fun in
- 4:21Speaker 3: real life and you know, amongst ourselves, so we want
- 4:24Speaker 3: to translate that on the stage.
- 4:27Speaker 4: So that's why we.
- 4:29Speaker 3: Made like a conscious decision to like, you know, really
- 4:32Speaker 3: have fun on stage and not be like you.
- 4:34Speaker 4: Know, like just old, you know, angry with their.
- 4:38Speaker 3: Fun just like you know, just just gatekeeping and everything.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Like on stage, we just want to have fun and
- 4:44Speaker 3: like if people gravitate towards that. And I mean there
- 4:48Speaker 3: are props and ship from time to time, but yeah,
- 4:51Speaker 3: I mean the basic.
- 4:54Speaker 4: Motto is just to like, you know, let lose and
- 4:56Speaker 4: have fun.
- 4:59Speaker 6: You gotta be with your woollngonge death metal outfit Goshika
- 5:02Speaker 6: as your national support So watch you exam obviously about
- 5:06Speaker 6: them that made you decide to take him on the
- 5:07Speaker 6: national run.
- 5:10Speaker 4: I mean, so Grindhead put us in touch with them.
- 5:14Speaker 3: They said to check out the music and all, and
- 5:16Speaker 3: they said that'd be a perfect fit for for the
- 5:20Speaker 3: guts that top they and we check them out live
- 5:23Speaker 3: and they like, you know, they also tend to have
- 5:26Speaker 3: a lot of fun on stage, and they're like, you know,
- 5:28Speaker 3: got a whole bunch of energy, and that's something that
- 5:30Speaker 3: we really wanted as our support act, so I think,
- 5:34Speaker 3: And I mean, and the guys, we've been speaking to them,
- 5:38Speaker 3: you know, over the course of this time to prepare
- 5:40Speaker 3: for this, and they are like the like the best
- 5:42Speaker 3: guys ever. They just want to have fun. So I
- 5:44Speaker 3: mean it just works out perfectly.
- 5:47Speaker 6: So the show kicks off in Brisbane on August twenty
- 5:50Speaker 6: seven Search twenty second Sorry at the back Room and
- 5:52Speaker 6: annally with Snake Mountain and Negwtolic. So it's the first
- 5:56Speaker 6: show with the chow. You've got two great lifel supports.
- 5:59Speaker 6: How are you just going to hit this age? It's
- 6:00Speaker 6: just gonna just gonna explode.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Yeah, the idea is that just to explode, just to
- 6:06Speaker 2: bring it down. But it's gonna be fun, so it's
- 6:08Speaker 2: got to be a mixed match of everything.
- 6:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm excited to check out the Australian bands as well,
- 6:14Speaker 3: you know, like we've got a whole bunch of them throughout,
- 6:19Speaker 3: especially with like you know, even with the Primitive Fest
- 6:22Speaker 3: and stuff. So I'm damn excited to check out the
- 6:25Speaker 3: Australian music scene nice.
- 6:28Speaker 6: Well, as you mentioned before, that's it started in India
- 6:30Speaker 6: back in two thousand and seven. So you did say
- 6:33Speaker 6: that there wasn't many extreme metal bands going round at
- 6:35Speaker 6: the time, So what was sort of what was was
- 6:39Speaker 6: the climate like they gave Bertie Custid. I guess like
- 6:41Speaker 6: if there wasn't much of it there before, what made
- 6:43Speaker 6: you think that you guys can bring it in and
- 6:45Speaker 6: make it successful.
- 6:47Speaker 2: So way back like when when I met the first
- 6:49Speaker 2: guitarist of usaid who was there in the band, So
- 6:52Speaker 2: it was all about jamming on the band that Chuck
- 6:56Speaker 2: was like one of my inspirations, and Death as a
- 6:59Speaker 2: band said like it was one of our favorites. So
- 7:01Speaker 2: it started off with like jamming a few songs from there,
- 7:04Speaker 2: a few songs from Cannibal Corps. So then there was
- 7:06Speaker 2: a lot of mutual connect and like you know, love
- 7:08Speaker 2: for that kind of music. So we thought, might as
- 7:10Speaker 2: well just sit and work on some originals around the
- 7:12Speaker 2: same line. So one of the first shows where we
- 7:14Speaker 2: covered Dying feed is Killer Mother Rabia Dog. The crowd
- 7:17Speaker 2: actually dumbfound they didn't know what was happening, and they
- 7:21Speaker 2: didn't know what kind of a name is Dying Feeders
- 7:23Speaker 2: and Killer Mother Rabia Dog. So so it was more
- 7:27Speaker 2: of a take a scare out there, like you know,
- 7:29Speaker 2: what are these guys and what are they doing? What
- 7:31Speaker 2: is this like you know some vichery and some some
- 7:34Speaker 2: possessed they are into. So it was quite fun that
- 7:37Speaker 2: that right, that reaction actually cemented the whole thing that
- 7:40Speaker 2: we want.
- 7:40Speaker 1: To do this. We want to scare the shout of people.
- 7:42Speaker 5: So that kind and how ald you saying that? I
- 7:46Speaker 5: see extreme metal season the genre. I guess how was
- 7:50Speaker 5: it grind in India since he started?
- 7:53Speaker 2: It's huge, It's huge now we have we have a
- 7:55Speaker 2: representations from different cities now in terms of different bands,
- 7:59Speaker 2: different genres, sub genres. We have everything from black metal
- 8:02Speaker 2: to grind to post rop even like you know, doom metal.
- 8:07Speaker 4: We've had.
- 8:08Speaker 1: We have old schools that metal.
- 8:09Speaker 2: So it's like it's like there are different regions in
- 8:12Speaker 2: India and everyone has their own kind of a strong
- 8:15Speaker 2: band coming out and we have so many bands. We've
- 8:17Speaker 2: gone international with it, so it's great. I mean, it's
- 8:20Speaker 2: good to see the whole scene grow and we've seen it.
- 8:24Speaker 2: We've been there, like you know, part of an integral
- 8:26Speaker 2: part of the whole growth phase.
- 8:28Speaker 1: We've given our eighteen years to this, so it's it's amazing.
- 8:32Speaker 6: When through your bio it describes you as the filthiest
- 8:36Speaker 6: extreme metal band A high from India. YEA, what do
- 8:39Speaker 6: you mean by filthiest? Thats up so many different images.
- 8:44Speaker 3: Just in the themes and like the the aggression that
- 8:48Speaker 3: we put into our music not on stage and not
- 8:50Speaker 3: in real life, not.
- 8:54Speaker 4: Take away from that stereotype.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Yeah, but like in terms of our music, we just
- 8:59Speaker 3: wanted to be the most extreme and aggressive, to be honest.
- 9:03Speaker 3: The faster it is and the more gnarali it is
- 9:06Speaker 3: is works for us. We don't want to be like
- 9:09Speaker 3: a clean cut, you know band, and that has worked
- 9:13Speaker 3: for Guts It all this time. So yeah, I mean
- 9:16Speaker 3: in terms of like aggression people, you know, whenever they
- 9:19Speaker 3: hear us, they're like, we've not We didn't expect shit
- 9:23Speaker 3: like this to come out of India. So that's our
- 9:25Speaker 3: goal is done.
- 9:27Speaker 5: Now.
- 9:27Speaker 6: We mentioned in your last album Carol Okay mar in
- 9:29Speaker 6: twenty twenty three, So you got any any new ones
- 9:31Speaker 6: you're going to be chesting on us right here?
- 9:33Speaker 4: Yes?
- 9:35Speaker 1: Yes, yes, you can fill in.
- 9:39Speaker 3: Oh yeah, we have a we've worked on a single
- 9:42Speaker 3: which is part of the new album that we've been
- 9:44Speaker 3: working on, and this single will be releasing a music
- 9:49Speaker 3: video post the Australian Toe, but like we're going to
- 9:53Speaker 3: be debuting it in Europe and Australia and that in
- 9:59Speaker 3: turn will lead that's called Iybuzz Circle. So like the
- 10:03Speaker 3: name suggests, it's a fast one. It's like one of
- 10:05Speaker 3: the fastest we've written, and that will lead to the
- 10:11Speaker 3: that will lead to the new sound of the new album.
- 10:14Speaker 3: So this is all, like you know, just a precursor
- 10:16Speaker 3: to everything. We've got a few more singles lined up,
- 10:19Speaker 3: but on this stove we're going to be doing just
- 10:22Speaker 3: one new song which you're going to test the waters
- 10:24Speaker 3: and stuff and then you know, move into the album
- 10:28Speaker 3: run which is in twenty six yes.
- 10:31Speaker 5: Right now, So right, gentlemen, thank you very much.
- 10:33Speaker 6: I'mously been a pleasure Ken tonight you got slipped pick
- 10:36Speaker 6: off their astry and show the twenty second of August
- 10:38Speaker 6: in Brisbane at the background, and then he had pretty
- 10:40Speaker 6: much all around the country. So looking forward to catching
- 10:42Speaker 6: up with there the British.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Yes, thank you so much. I want to see you
