- Lucas: Luna, welcome back to Learn Malay with Fexingo. Episode 70, can you believe it? Luna: I know, Lucas! It feels like we just started. Today we're revisiting body parts, right? Lucas: Exactly. We've done a lot of body parts in previous episodes, but today we're focusing on fingers and toes. Luna: Oh, I remember jari for fingers and jari kaki for toes. But I think I need a refresher on the full sentences. Lucas: Perfect. So let's start with jari. Jari means fingers. Can you say jari? Luna: Jari. Lucas: Good. And jari kaki means toes. Jari kaki. Luna: Jari kaki. So it's literally 'foot fingers'? Lucas: Exactly. In Malay, toes are foot fingers. Now, how many fingers do you have? Luna: Umm, ten? Saya ada sepuluh jari? Lucas: That's right! Saya ada sepuluh jari. I have ten fingers. Say it again. Luna: Saya ada sepuluh jari. Lucas: And toes? How many toes do you have? Luna: Also ten. Saya ada sepuluh jari kaki. Lucas: Perfect. You said it exactly right. Saya ada sepuluh jari kaki. Luna: So if I have long fingers, I say Jari saya panjang. And if I have small toes, Jari kaki saya kecil. Lucas: Yes! Let's practice those. Jari saya panjang. Luna: Jari saya panjang. My fingers are long. Lucas: And jari kaki saya kecil. Luna: Jari kaki saya kecil. My toes are small. Lucas: You know, I love how descriptive Malay is. Before we continue, I want to mention something. Fexingo keeps these lessons ad-free because we believe language learning should be distraction-free. If you find these episodes helpful and want to support that principle, you can buy us a coffee at buymeacoffee dot com slash fexingo. Luna: Yeah, it's totally optional but really appreciated. It helps us keep making these tiny lessons. Lucas: Right. So back to our fingers. Let's do a quick dialogue. Imagine you're showing someone your hands. Luna: Okay, I'll start. Saya ada sepuluh jari. Jari saya panjang. Lucas: And I'll say, Jari kaki saya kecil. But you can't see my toes. Luna: Oh, that's funny. So now if someone asks me about my toes, I can say Jari kaki saya kecil. Lucas: Exactly. Let's do one more round. Repeat after me: Saya ada sepuluh jari. Luna: Saya ada sepuluh jari. Lucas: Saya ada sepuluh jari kaki. Luna: Saya ada sepuluh jari kaki. Lucas: Jari saya panjang. Luna: Jari saya panjang. Lucas: Jari kaki saya kecil. Luna: Jari kaki saya kecil. Oh, this is sticking now. Lucas: That's the goal. Practice these phrases, and you'll be able to talk about your fingers and toes with confidence. See you next time! Luna: Terima kasih, Lucas. Bye!
