- 0:15Speaker 1: Music.
- 0:16Speaker 1: All right, good morning, good morning everybody.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Welcome back to Thursday morning prayer.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Come out, the wilderness, y'all.
- 2:01Speaker 1: And today we're going to be talking about discipline and faith.
- 2:04Speaker 1: So I'm actually just turning on this is called soaking music.
- 2:08Speaker 1: I play in the background.
- 2:09Speaker 1: For those who were wondering what is she doing, I'm ready, I'm here and I'm just setting it up.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Soaking music is kind of instrumental worship music and y'all can find them.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Wherever you get your music I get mine on.
- 2:24Speaker 1: This is Amazon music, but it's really good.
- 2:28Speaker 1: You know when you're going into worship, deep worship, when you don't want to hear a gospel song, or you know songs with words, so they just kind of bring you closer to heaven, if that makes sense, and that's what that is, soaking music.
- 2:42Speaker 1: So today we're actually going to be talking about discipline, faith and finances, worship and relationships and, as we are closing out this year, good morning everybody on Facebook, linkedin, twitter, youtube, very deck live TV.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Wherever you are chiming in from, whether you're watching the live or the replay, god's got a word for you, okay, so make sure you also like the video on the way out, so they don't kick me off the YouTube streets.
- 3:10Speaker 1: So again, today we're going to talk about discipline, faith.
- 3:14Speaker 1: It's still timely, is still the right message for the right time, as the Lord tells me, as, again, a lot of us are closing out this month of December, but we are already preparing ourselves for what we want the new year to bring us.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Maybe this year didn't end the way you hoped it would, whether it was in your finance or, as you know, as you worship, or in the relationships that you have, but we're going to get ourselves right.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Right, we're going to start now.
- 3:41Speaker 1: We're not going to wait until we get to January to start making resolutions and promises right.
- 3:47Speaker 1: We're going to start getting our ourselves right now so that we can soar into 24.
- 3:53Speaker 1: And, by the way, don't forget to sign up for the sore event.
- 3:56Speaker 1: It's free, it's virtual y'all, it's 90 minutes with amazing women talking you through.
- 4:02Speaker 1: You know, being spirit led and being obedient, everything having to do with how we're approaching our not just our spiritual lives, but how we're going to really prepare ourselves for an even more blessed year.
- 4:16Speaker 1: So, father, we just thank you.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Thank you so much again for this Thursday morning live.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Thank you for giving us this platform, these platforms to reach your people or God.
- 4:26Speaker 1: We thank you for your words as they go forth.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Holy Spirit, as always, demonstrate.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Demonstrate your power so that they hear from you and not me.
- 4:34Speaker 1: And Lord, I thank you that you are glorified in the midst of these, amen Y'all.
- 4:39Speaker 1: So this morning, good morning Audrey.
- 4:43Speaker 1: If I miss y'all, if I can't see everybody's names, so forgive me y'all All right.
- 4:47Speaker 1: So this morning we're talking about discipline and it was really funny.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Again, I have these conversations with the Holy Spirit in the most odd places, but he was showing this morning that the part of the reason that we're leaning in on discipline a lot of us kind of give up the discipline right now in some of the areas of our lives because maybe you're on PTO, meaning you're on vacation from work and you're done with those people.
- 5:13Speaker 1: You're not going to see them till next year, so whatever, okay.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Or you know, maybe you're easing the restrictions and you're eating because you're going to be around family and you want to enjoy all the food.
- 5:23Speaker 1: So I'm going to ease it now because this is a time I can you know, I can ease the restrictions.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Maybe some of you are going spend crazy with your finances because you got to get the right Christmas gifts, because you got to bless as many people as possible and you know so maybe it's, you know, touching into your finances.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Worship is easing.
- 5:43Speaker 1: You know some people only show up the church once a year.
- 5:45Speaker 1: This might be it, but even in how you worship, you know, you've been going through a lot this year and so maybe some of you are easing up or, and some of us, are actually doubling down in worship and even our relationships, the way that we're treating people.
- 5:59Speaker 1: You know people are tired, exhausted.
- 6:02Speaker 1: It's been an exhausting year for a lot of us and so how do you make sure that you're still?
- 6:09Speaker 1: You still have some discipline in how you, you, we, us, how we're treating the people that God has put in our put, it put into our lives, so in relationship.
- 6:18Speaker 1: So we're going to talk about this, but the first place that I wanted to start was discipline itself and discipleship.
- 6:25Speaker 1: The Lord was like as a disciple, we us, you got to be disciplined.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Hello, it's in the word.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Okay, so it's in the word.
- 6:34Speaker 1: For reasons, I'm going to share my screen and I'm going to go into Luke 14, verses 25 through 33.
- 6:40Speaker 1: I'm gonna start here, y'all, because this is the foundation and there is a cost associated with being a disciple, which is what we are right.
- 6:49Speaker 1: We're followers of Christ, christians, whatever title you're using but there is a cost associated.
- 6:56Speaker 1: So the first thing he wanted me to share is the cost associated with being a discipleship.
- 7:01Speaker 1: This being a disciple, it you know verse 25, luke 14, it talks about the great crowds that accompanied him and he turned and sent to him.
- 7:11Speaker 1: This is Jesus talking.
- 7:12Speaker 1: If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and children and brothers and sisters, and even his own life, he can't be my disciple.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Let me make sure y'all understand what this means, especially on these social media streets.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Please don't chop the video and say Jesus said.
- 7:27Speaker 1: He said hate your family.
- 7:28Speaker 1: What he's saying is that he is the first in your life.
- 7:34Speaker 1: He is literally the Lord in your life, my own life, meaning the things that I chase after in my flesh, the things that I wanna do to please my flesh.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Making, you know, not making my parents, my small G gods, like those, you know, the worshiping my parents, not worshiping the Lord, or even, in my case, my husband or my, our girls or my family, right.
- 7:56Speaker 1: So he's telling you that the priority as a disciple is Jesus first, right.
- 8:03Speaker 1: The second part is whoever doesn't bear his own cross and come after me can't be my disciple.
- 8:10Speaker 1: And there are a lot of us who can't carry our own crosses.
- 8:15Speaker 1: So you think about it this way your own situations, your own trials, your own tribulations.
- 8:22Speaker 1: A lot of believers are really quick to point out somebody else's cross, but they can't even bear their own cross, okay, which comes with suffering a lot of time.
- 8:32Speaker 1: And so he's saying that you have to be able to carry this cross.
- 8:37Speaker 1: You know, when you are a disciple, when you're a believer, it is not an easy life.
- 8:41Speaker 1: It is not easy to be disciplined or to be a disciple, so you have to bear that in mind.
- 8:49Speaker 1: It talks about you, about for which of you desiring to build a tower does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it?
- 8:58Speaker 1: And this touches on a couple of principles financial and also the way you approach the cost with being a disciple.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Being a believer is really understanding.
- 9:09Speaker 1: What does it take for me to be aligned with God's word?
- 9:13Speaker 1: In the same way, before I go out and buy something, what do you know?
- 9:17Speaker 1: Do I have enough to purchase it?
- 9:19Speaker 1: Right, but there's a cost associated in both of those principles and it says otherwise.
- 9:24Speaker 1: You lay a foundation, you can't finish it and everybody sees you mock you.
- 9:27Speaker 1: So this brings me to a point where a lot of times, folks who are new to being followers or believers and they get so excited call it new Christians.
- 9:40Speaker 1: They get really, really excited.
- 9:42Speaker 1: But they have laid a foundation.
- 9:44Speaker 1: They haven't understood some of the things that you're gonna have to give up, the things that you're not gonna be able to do anymore watch anymore, sing anymore, eat anymore, the places you can't go anymore, you can't be in those gossip circles anymore.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Those are parts of the cost of following Jesus and a lot of times believers, they don't think about that as a foundation, so they're not able to finish the race, meaning they get in, they get excited and the minute a situation happens, the minute they're disappointed, they blame God and they bounce.
- 10:15Speaker 1: So there's a cost associated in being a discipleship, but it becomes a part of your discipline, okay?
- 10:23Speaker 1: So I just wanna share Luke 14, 25, this is Luke 14, 25 through 33, y'all go back and read it in full so you can get that, and I'm gonna stop sharing and I'm gonna talk to you a little bit more about being disciplined.
- 10:39Speaker 1: So, again, what we're trying to do is set you up so that you will be successful for an amazing, prosperous, spiritually enriched new year.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Okay, we are setting the foundation so that we can lead into next year.
- 10:54Speaker 1: We are closing out this amazing 2023.
- 10:58Speaker 1: We're closing out this.
- 10:59Speaker 1: For some of y'all, it wasn't an amazing year.
- 11:01Speaker 1: It was a trying year.
- 11:02Speaker 1: We're gonna close out this year, but we're gonna set our minds and our spirits right.
- 11:07Speaker 1: We're gonna worship in spirit and truth so that we can springboard into 2024, that's what we're doing, all right.
- 11:13Speaker 1: So now the second part of discipleship is financial discipline.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Now, I'm gonna grab this verse real quick because this is going to hurt, but I'm gonna put this here and I'm gonna say some things and y'all don't get mad at me because this isn't working.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Okay, all right.
- 11:31Speaker 1: This is 1 Timothy 6, verse 10.
- 11:36Speaker 1: For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Money is the root of all kinds.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Now, mind you, it's not saying money is the root, because money is required, right, in order for you to do things in this life right.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Money is required right.
- 11:53Speaker 1: It's saying the love of money.
- 11:55Speaker 1: That's very different.
- 11:56Speaker 1: It's the love, because if you love something, it means it's implanted, it's a part of your heart, and your heart feeds what you think and it feeds what you do and it feeds what you say.
- 12:06Speaker 1: So it's the love of money that's the root of all kinds of evils, and it's through this craving craving that a lot of people have shifted from the faith and they pierced themselves with many pangs.
- 12:17Speaker 1: They've opened doors that don't need to.
- 12:19Speaker 1: They've done some things.
- 12:21Speaker 1: They've sold themselves, they've sold their gifts, even okay.
- 12:25Speaker 1: So let's start with how we're gonna do better in our finances.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Now, for those of y'all who are not doing this and you're members of a Bible-based church Bible-based church right, this is a time when you start thinking about if you haven't done it already tithing in the new year.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Tithing is a principle.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Now, I'm saying this as someone who has not been consistent.
- 12:55Speaker 1: I'm just gonna be honest.
- 12:56Speaker 1: Okay, but as I'm asking the Lord for some of the things that I want from my family in the new year, the blessings and everything that I'm asking for, the breakthroughs, lord, use me right now, lord, to be a blessing to somebody.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Let me be the breakthrough in someone's life.
- 13:13Speaker 1: You can't even say that prayer if you don't have discipline, and you have to have discipline in your finances.
- 13:19Speaker 1: It's very important.
- 13:20Speaker 1: So for those of y'all who are within the body of Christ and you're all members of a church, a Bible-based church, and I understand why a lot of people don't wanna tithing because they see the pastor driving a Mercedes and they're in a busted Honda.
- 13:36Speaker 1: So this also might be a time where you go back to the Lord and say, is this the right place to plant this seed?
- 13:43Speaker 1: Is this the right place?
- 13:47Speaker 1: I can tell you, and I'm not even gonna humble brag, I'm just gonna brag a little bit.
- 13:53Speaker 1: We're members of a church I'm in Georgia called Perimeter Church.
- 13:56Speaker 1: This is not a paid announcement.
- 13:58Speaker 1: This is not an affiliate, anything like that.
- 14:00Speaker 1: I'm just telling you because I want y'all, I just wanna be honest and share my life with you.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Okay, perimeter Church is one of the.
- 14:09Speaker 1: I think it would be considered a megachurch.
- 14:12Speaker 1: There's thousands of members but it still feels like a small community.
- 14:16Speaker 1: When you go into the church, we tie that to that church and every month they send out a report and they show a kind of chronicle where your money goes and their meetings, or meetings from membership on membership, about what we do and how we plant, how we use the money to pour it back into different funds and community.
- 14:35Speaker 1: And we see that it's a report.
- 14:37Speaker 1: We all get it, we are all part of this and, again, it's a large church.
- 14:41Speaker 1: What I also appreciate is the humbleness of the leadership at the church.
- 14:45Speaker 1: There is no love for money at the church.
- 14:48Speaker 1: There's a lot of money in the church.
- 14:51Speaker 1: The membership is amazing.
- 14:52Speaker 1: We're in an affluent area, so they're not hurting for Ty.
- 14:56Speaker 1: They're also making a strong point of not begging for Ty.
- 15:01Speaker 1: They're not corrupting the word for Ty.
- 15:04Speaker 1: They're not forcing you.
- 15:05Speaker 1: They're not, you understand.
- 15:07Speaker 1: They're not making you feel a certain kind of way Like if you don't tie, your teeth gonna fall out.
- 15:11Speaker 1: If you don't tie, your car gonna stop.
- 15:13Speaker 1: You don't tie your fridge gonna break down.
- 15:15Speaker 1: It's not of that.
- 15:18Speaker 1: So I say all this to say that it is important that you're in the right body of Christ, because even though this is a biblical principle for us to tie right as flesh, as human, we're watching the money go someplace and so you're not gonna be comfortable in your own flesh and you don't want that to be the thing that stops you from giving.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Okay, I'm just gonna throw that out there, cause that's something I personally had to.
- 15:49Speaker 1: When we joined the church, that was a part of the boxes that we had to check.
- 15:55Speaker 1: We wanted to know what was happening when we pour into the church.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Where does the money go?
- 16:00Speaker 1: What happens to the membership If something happens to the members, and can people find help?
- 16:05Speaker 1: This is all a part.
- 16:06Speaker 1: Tithing is one way.
- 16:08Speaker 1: You still have to give your gifts and your talent.
- 16:11Speaker 1: That's another thing, right.
- 16:12Speaker 1: But again, the point is really taking a look at how you're spending your money, where you're planting your seeds, is important, right.
- 16:21Speaker 1: So really thinking about, like, lord, this is how much I got.
- 16:25Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you something, because when you commit to this, you know, when you commit to, you commit your finances to the Lord.
- 16:31Speaker 1: I can go back to the Lord and say, abba, this is how I do it.
- 16:35Speaker 1: You know, abba, there's these bills coming and I don't know how I'm gonna do this, right.
- 16:40Speaker 1: But, father, I've been faithful in this one area as best as I can.
- 16:43Speaker 1: I need your help.
- 16:45Speaker 1: I need help, right?
- 16:46Speaker 1: So is this a different position than when you're flat out not, you're not doing anything, you're not giving Him, it's His anyway.
- 16:55Speaker 1: You're not.
- 16:56Speaker 1: It's a heart posture and you're giving, not expecting to receive, like I'm not tithing so that I can go back and hold it over the Lord's head Like, remember I tied last week, so therefore I should get some bonuses.
- 17:08Speaker 1: I'm not, I'm giving because it's His and because I want to continue the kingdom work, right.
- 17:16Speaker 1: So one of the ways that we're gonna thrive in our finances is just aligning to the biblical principles of tithing.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Again, if you're in a Bible-based church, if you're not in the, if you're in a church where you're like I don't think, I don't feel good about it, then you might not be in the right church period.
- 17:32Speaker 1: Because if they can't even take care of that part, you might ask the Lord, are you in the right place period?
- 17:38Speaker 1: Okay, all right.
- 17:39Speaker 1: So that's thriving in finances.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Again, it's the love of money.
- 17:43Speaker 1: The love of money.
- 17:45Speaker 1: That's the root of all evil, of all kinds of evils.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Right, it's the love of, because that love comes from your heart and that's what causes you to do and say some things.
- 17:54Speaker 1: And that's the truth.
- 17:57Speaker 1: All right, I'll come off of this one because I know this was a hard one.
- 18:01Speaker 1: So the second one is worship is discipline and worship.
- 18:04Speaker 1: I'm gonna go to Matthew six.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Matthew six is, it's very personal to me.
- 18:11Speaker 1: I'm gonna try to.
- 18:14Speaker 1: I'm gonna try to make this short, this one short.
- 18:18Speaker 1: This one's very personal to me, but I think you're gonna appreciate when we talk about being disciplined in worship.
- 18:24Speaker 1: I think I shared this.
- 18:25Speaker 1: I might have shared this Tuesday night after our prayer.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Y'all all welcome to the Bible study that we do every Tuesday, monday morning 6.30, tuesday night 8.30, and talking about discipline, discipline and even how we worship.
- 18:38Speaker 1: So I know a lot of people have a certain time of morning that they worship and they kinda adhere to that.
- 18:46Speaker 1: But you have to have some kind of discipline in the way that you worship.
- 18:51Speaker 1: It's really important that and it's not like I don't have time to pray because you will have time to pray when things go wrong.
- 19:01Speaker 1: You will have time to pray when your health fails.
- 19:03Speaker 1: You'll have time to pray when your child's sick.
- 19:06Speaker 1: You'll have time to pray when that weren't, when you lose that job.
- 19:10Speaker 1: Right, it's just being consistent and being disciplined and making sure that you do set that time.
- 19:20Speaker 1: So in Matthew chapter six, it starts out with the various principles in worshiping, and the Lord was showing me this as different ways of worshiping.
- 19:30Speaker 1: So it starts with how we're giving to the needy and how we're actually practicing our righteousness.
- 19:35Speaker 1: That's even a part of worship.
- 19:36Speaker 1: That's literally in the I call it being in the marketplace Worship where people, a lot of people, are only gonna meet Jesus through you.
- 19:47Speaker 1: You're it, right, you're the again.
- 19:50Speaker 1: You're the blessing they've been praying for.
- 19:52Speaker 1: You're the, you know, you've been praying for.
- 19:55Speaker 1: You're that person.
- 19:56Speaker 1: You're literally that person.
- 19:58Speaker 1: You're the ambassador of Christ, right?
- 20:00Speaker 1: So a lot of people are only gonna see Jesus through you.
- 20:03Speaker 1: So a part of your worship practice is how you get to the needy.
- 20:07Speaker 1: And it's not always, you know, going out on the street.
- 20:11Speaker 1: Sometimes it's literally on your job when you're giving, sharing a kind word, or, you know, with your family, or you know it's giving.
- 20:19Speaker 1: It's giving to people who are in need of something right.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Chapter six talks about when you give to the needy.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do, right?
- 20:30Speaker 1: And, by the way it says, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets.
- 20:34Speaker 1: So there's a lot of people who are, you know, giving to the needy, but they can't wait to throw it on social media to talk about how great our pastor was because he gave $20,000 or so and so, no, you don't need to sound that is between that person, god and heaven, right?
- 20:53Speaker 1: So giving to the needy, where it says don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that it's in a secret, so that you don't get caught up in, you know, it doesn't become a boast.
- 21:05Speaker 1: But giving to the needy and this again is a time of year where a lot of us are, you know, joining along a lot of organizations and asking people, you know, buy a gift for our family and you know don't.
- 21:15Speaker 1: You know, buy the gift for the family, support the organizations that need help, but don't use this as a time to puff yourself up.
- 21:22Speaker 1: That is a part of your worship, right?
- 21:28Speaker 1: Another part of worship is just in prayer and the word talks about, you know, standing, those who like to stand and pray, you know, so that again, so that they may be seen, right.
- 21:43Speaker 1: But when you're praying, even in your worship and you're praying sometimes you know when you're, if you're, you know you're called to pray for other people makes sense, right?
- 21:50Speaker 1: If you're at I'm just gonna say this you're at a church and you're the inaccessory group and you're called up to pray for the folks who've come up for prayer.
- 21:58Speaker 1: That's different.
- 21:58Speaker 1: You know, that's not a street corner prayer, right, but there are times when the Lord is gonna, you know, rely on you.
- 22:05Speaker 1: He's gonna send you a name, he's gonna trust you, send you a name that you pray for.
- 22:10Speaker 1: You pray over this person, but it's not so that you can be puffed up and in that prayer, in your prayer whether you're praying for yourself or you're praying for someone else that requires discipline.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Because even going into that prayer, there are things that I do before I utter a prayer.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Do you have discipline when you go into prayer or are you just showing up?
- 22:31Speaker 1: I call it a cold stone.
- 22:32Speaker 1: You're just showing up, flip open the Bible and you go at it.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Right.
- 22:38Speaker 1: So, as we're again, as we're thinking about how we can really, you know, close out this incredible year and we're setting ourselves sells out for this, you know, amazing new year that's coming.
- 22:49Speaker 1: How am I worshiping?
- 22:50Speaker 1: How disciplined am I in worship?
- 22:52Speaker 1: Do I actually set aside time to hear from God or am I just speaking?
- 22:57Speaker 1: Am I just talking?
- 23:00Speaker 1: Is it just a monologue?
- 23:02Speaker 1: It also talks about fasting.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Fasting is also a part of our worship and, again, it warns you, you know, don't, don't fast.
- 23:10Speaker 1: So you look gloomy and then you go.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Brah girl, I was fasting for pretty days, and who you know?
- 23:15Speaker 1: It's not for that.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Fasting is to break the flesh.
- 23:18Speaker 1: It's for us to break the flesh, right.
- 23:22Speaker 1: But have you incorporated fasting into your worship?
- 23:25Speaker 1: Laying of treasures in heaven.
- 23:26Speaker 1: Again, I told you all about the heart posture.
- 23:30Speaker 1: Verse 21 says for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
- 23:36Speaker 1: I know, I know where people are coming from, I know you, I know what's in your heart, based on what comes out of your mouth, cause that seed, that thing that's in your heart, it can't help but come out of your mouth.
- 23:48Speaker 1: So sometimes people utter things and say things and they say, oh, I'm not sure what's in your heart.
- 23:53Speaker 1: People utter things and say things and they say, oh, no, that's not what I mean.
- 23:56Speaker 1: That's exactly what you meant.
- 23:57Speaker 1: That was a seed that was in your heart.
- 23:59Speaker 1: What's in your heart?
- 24:03Speaker 1: What's your heart posture?
- 24:04Speaker 1: Right, it talks about, you know, laying your.
- 24:09Speaker 1: You know, basically, don't invest everything on these things that are gonna, you know, rust and and and decry, decry, sorry, I go into the tugs.
- 24:22Speaker 1: You know, all these things that that we can lose here on this earthling right.
- 24:27Speaker 1: The eye is the lamp of the body.
- 24:33Speaker 1: What does that mean?
- 24:35Speaker 1: I as healthy, my whole body, is full of light.
- 24:39Speaker 1: What does my eyes see when you see me and I see you.
- 24:46Speaker 1: What does that mean?
- 24:47Speaker 1: It talks about being the light in the darkness.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Again, none of this is gonna make sense if you don't have discipline in your worship.
- 24:53Speaker 1: Why, so that then the Holy Spirit can show you, Show me where in my life, lord, be the light in my life, but show me, illuminate what it is I need to change and shift.
- 25:05Speaker 1: I don't want any darkness in me.
- 25:07Speaker 1: But you can't get to that point if you're not disciplined in worship.
- 25:13Speaker 1: And the last part we throw this out a lot.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Y'all don't be anxious, because look at the birds in the air and and how the sonar reaps, etc.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Etc.
- 25:21Speaker 1: We come all the way down to verse 33 that says but seek first the kingdom of God.
- 25:27Speaker 1: All these things will be added to you, but you get there through worship, right, just having discipline in the way that you worship.
- 25:36Speaker 1: Now go back and read Matthew.
- 25:38Speaker 1: This is Matthew 6, verses 1, all the way through verse 34.
- 25:42Speaker 1: And this helps you set, helps set your frame up for how you worship God.
- 25:49Speaker 1: All right, one more part, and this is about relationships.
- 25:53Speaker 1: This is about relationships and, again, this is one of those areas that I know as I'm saying it, it is very difficult for a lot of people.
- 26:03Speaker 1: It is very difficult for a lot of people Ephesians 4 verse, verses 2 through 3, and it talks about humility and gentleness, patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace Relationships.
- 26:26Speaker 1: So the approach that we take to relationship humility, gentleness, with patience, bearing one another in love we're eager, eager to maintain the unity.
- 26:42Speaker 1: We're not, you know, we're not eager to cause chaos.
- 26:44Speaker 1: We really want to maintain the unity of the Holy Spirit in the bond of peace.
- 26:51Speaker 1: This one is going to test a lot of y'all this holiday season, because you're going to be around people and relationships that you haven't seen in a little while and you really do have to discipline yourself in how you respond to the people that God has put in your life Sisters, aunties, uncles, nephews, neighbors, brothers, sisters and all.
- 27:13Speaker 1: So, as you're coming into again the next couple of weeks before we gather, and again, for those of you all who are not, if you're going to be by yourself on Christmas, I will be here Christmas morning 6 30 am and come join me.
- 27:27Speaker 1: If you're going to be alone, you don't have to do this by yourself at all, but really think about how are you going to thrive in those relationships, and you have to be disciplined in the way that you respond to the people in your life.
- 27:40Speaker 1: You don't have to say everything that you're thinking.
- 27:43Speaker 1: Maybe it's you that's wrong.
- 27:48Speaker 1: Okay, so there's a lot of things that we covered.
- 27:52Speaker 1: We talked about being disciples and understanding that there's a cost to this life.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Everybody would be doing it if there was no cost to it.
- 28:01Speaker 1: If it was easy, everybody would be believers.
- 28:02Speaker 1: That's not the case.
- 28:03Speaker 1: Right?
- 28:03Speaker 1: We're doing this life, in this walk, with the help of the Holy Spirit.
- 28:07Speaker 1: We can thrive in our finances if we again go back to our principles.
- 28:11Speaker 1: We need to go back and for those of us who aren't doing it maybe we haven't done it this year Think about tithing next year.
- 28:19Speaker 1: Start tithing next year.
- 28:20Speaker 1: Plant the seeds in the places where it makes sense, where the Lord leads you to plant a seed Worship, being more disciplined in how we worship, setting the time apart, making God the priority.
- 28:36Speaker 1: Have that alone time so that it's not just a monologue where you just pray.
- 28:39Speaker 1: You know, pray for four hours and getting nothing back.
- 28:43Speaker 1: Sometimes you just need you to sit still for five minutes and in our relationship, being disciplined, in our relationship, making sure that our approach is different.
- 28:52Speaker 1: Our approach is different.
- 28:54Speaker 1: It's with humility and patience, and it's hard, but ask the Holy Spirit to guide you, ask Him to open you up, show you the areas of your life that still need to be healed Because, again, sometimes it's us, it's not them.
- 29:10Speaker 1: So I pray that this is a season that the Lord will show you the areas of your life that you need to work on, so that you can soar, as we say in 24.
- 29:25Speaker 1: Father, we are so grateful.
- 29:27Speaker 1: We thank you for this time.
- 29:27Speaker 1: This morning, lord, your word has gone out and I pray that every single person who needed to hear your word, lord, god, that they will receive it in full.
- 29:34Speaker 1: We thank you, lord.
- 29:36Speaker 1: We bless everyone under the sound of my voice listening live, or the replay for generations to come that they will come and seek you, Lord, god.
- 29:44Speaker 1: We thank you, lord, that this walk, this Christian walk, this walk as a believer, this life is amazing.
- 29:50Speaker 1: It's filled with blessing.
- 29:52Speaker 1: You are so good, You're so merciful, you're so gracious to us.
- 29:56Speaker 1: Lord God.
- 29:57Speaker 1: And so, lord, I thank you for the joy and peace that fills our hearts because of the Holy Spirit, because of the comfort, because you are fighting for us and you fight and you win, and we thank you, lord God, for just blessing our lives.
- 30:11Speaker 1: Thank you so much for allowing us to see yet another week, another day, and all of these things we ask in Jesus' name, as we bless you, lord, amen, amen.
- 30:21Speaker 1: Y'all, don't be confused.
- 30:24Speaker 1: This is a good life.
- 30:26Speaker 1: Okay, you know, I think Christians spend a lot of times whining and complaining.
- 30:32Speaker 1: But listen, I'm going to tell you something.
- 30:34Speaker 1: I would rather, I would rather do the walk with the Holy Spirit than do it by myself.
- 30:39Speaker 1: I could not live this life, I could not live a fulfilled life without the Holy Spirit.
- 30:46Speaker 1: If you don't know what I'm talking about, I'm talking about if you don't have the Lord Jesus in your life, if you haven't accepted him in your life, all you have to do is say Lord Jesus, I believe and I receive you and he will come into your life.
- 31:01Speaker 1: That means you're going to change.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Some things are going to change, right, but for the better, for the better, and I'm telling you, you're going to, you're just going to love it.
- 31:11Speaker 1: It's amazing, god is amazing, god is amazing.
- 31:13Speaker 1: So thank you all so much for watching.
- 31:15Speaker 1: I will be back next week.
- 31:17Speaker 1: Y'all take care and love on each other.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Thank you so much.
