- 0:41The f A. Hey, y'all, welcome today's show. I did not
- 1:03travel as intended today, so I am able to do a Wednesday show,
- 1:07and we're gonna pick up right where we left off yesterday. Do you want
- 1:14to put out just a little plug for an odd interview I had last night
- 1:19with John Benco with a four persons Catholic radio show. He invites me on
- 1:26every now and then, and this time the guests was going to be a
- 1:32wood carver, and being I guess because I'm a wood carver myself, I
- 1:36was gonna I don't know if i'd say co host it, but you know,
- 1:40I was gonna be a part of the program. And the guests didn't
- 1:44show up. So John knows that I'm a music geek, and he decided
- 1:51to play Stump the Chump. So for an hour, he played every obscure
- 1:57Christmas song he could think of and asked me to name the band, the
- 2:02name of the song, and oftentimes the album. If you want to check
- 2:07that out, you can I sent it out on my Uncensored Catholic subsect newsletter
- 2:12this morning, or of course you can get his site. We laughed a
- 2:15lot and it was actually pretty fun and you're gonna hear a lot of Christmas
- 2:21music that you're never gonna hear anywhere else. I mean, he started me
- 2:24off with Chicago and then the Pretenders. I went back at him with let
- 2:32me think Sean McGowan doing Lullaby of New York and the Ramones doing It's Christmas.
- 2:42I don't want to fight anymore. He had never heard those. I
- 2:45mean, obviously very few people have. The next thing, I know,
- 2:50he's playing the Beg's and I mean we ended up with you know, Manheim
- 2:54steam Roll of course, but I mean in between just about out every obscure
- 3:00Christmas song you can think of, Brian Setzer, Orchestra, Wow, so
- 3:08many, from pop hits to obscure rock to big band. You know,
- 3:15we were all over the map and it was it was it was fun,
- 3:17you know, one of those unexpected things. And I've got finished with that.
- 3:23I told someone, I don't think there's anybody on earth that could have
- 3:27done what I just did. I mean, my collection of obscure musical knowledge,
- 3:35just pure you know trivia. Even I'm surprised the stuff I know sometimes.
- 3:42I mean, I'm not kidding, yeah, I mean we covered everything
- 3:47from Billman Road to the beeches. So if you want to hear some Christmas
- 3:52music, you're not gonna hear on the radio, or you're not gonna hear
- 3:54while you're shopping, and you probably don't have in your collection. Uh and
- 3:59and to really out there Catholic music geeks cracking each other up. Check it
- 4:05out. It was fun. It's still titled actually an interview with this guy
- 4:10from Bethlehem Carvers who didn't show up, and maybe he will next week because
- 4:14I mean, really talented, super tap. I mean, I'm looking forward
- 4:17to that. But anyway, it's yesterday's show that would be December twelve,
- 4:24twenty twenty three. And like I said, it is still entitled an interview
- 4:29with I can't remember his name from Bethlehem Carver's even though it's just me and
- 4:32John talking odd Christmas music. So you know, if that's your thing,
- 4:38give it a shot. But okay, so the questioner asked the priests a
- 4:44very important question. This is actually something just about every Protestant believes. And
- 4:54as they explain, they're right about Protestantism, they're wrong about their belief in
- 5:01Catholicism. And here's what it means. I mean, here's where I'm going
- 5:04with this. The person says, does not Christian today differ vastly from the
- 5:12religion Christ preached? The answer outside of the Catholic Church, yes, but
- 5:19in the Catholic Church, the exact religion of Christ has come down to us
- 5:25in virtue of Christ promise to be with his church all days until the end
- 5:29of the world. This assertion will be justified in a later section. So,
- 5:33yeah, Protestantism differs greatly. Trust me, Jesus and the Apostles were
- 5:41not practicing a megachurch, you know, evangelical or nationalistic religion. Actually,
- 5:53And when I say nationalistic, I mean like the Church of England. You
- 5:57know, I don't well, I don't have a problem with what they call
- 6:00Christian nationalism in America right now, Okay, I think that's just a way
- 6:04of trying to blame Catholics and Evangelicals and Trump supporters for, you know,
- 6:12all the problems that the left wants to identify. I think it's actually and
- 6:15Pope Jump Paul the Second was quite clear on this, although Pope Francis has
- 6:18not been that nationalism patriotism is a very good thing. But yeah, I
- 6:28mean, I don't know what a Christian nationalist is I mean Joe Scarborough,
- 6:32who's a moron, had a guest on his show the other day. I
- 6:36only know this because Steve Bannon plays like five minutes of mourning Joe on like
- 6:42almost every one of his shows, and I'm like, turn that mess off,
- 6:46you know. But he said that people who love America more than they
- 6:50love God. You know, I haven't met one yet. I did a
- 6:56whole program. I said, American East God, God doesn't need America,
- 7:00and I would certainly be described as a Christian nationalist by morons like Joe and
- 7:06Mika. I mean, I literally said it. It's the title of that
- 7:12show. Anybody wants to hear it. I mean I was specific in saying
- 7:16America needs God. God doesn't need America. You know, America can rise
- 7:20and fall. The Catholic Church will not. But they would say because I'm
- 7:25a Trump supporter and I'm a conservative, and I'm an outspoken Catholic who opposes
- 7:30abortion and gay marriage and transgender garbage and all that, And I'm not terribly
- 7:35concerned about global warming. It's you know, the climate changes. It always
- 7:41has and it's not been proven that mankind has any effect over it. And
- 7:46I know, you know, I have enough sense to know that masks don't
- 7:48work to prevent the spread of viruses except actually spitting on another person, because,
- 7:54as a lady said during the whole pandemic, pants don't keep your farts
- 7:58in, and the virus is a lot smaller. I would be described as
- 8:03a Christian nationalist, and they probably say I was a racist and a biggot,
- 8:07And that's like the furthest thing from the truth. Literally, I don't
- 8:11care what race anybody is, never have. I grew up in what you
- 8:16would call a majority minority city where white people were the minority. It may
- 8:20surprise a lot of people, but it's not actually all that in common in
- 8:24the South. I I can have a dozen towns at the top of my
- 8:28head that I spent time in with an eighty percent black population. Maybe a
- 8:35small town of only two or four thousand people, but still I'm the only
- 8:39white guy in town, you know. I mean, basically, I go
- 8:41into a store and everybody's black. Doesn't bother me. I'm used to it.
- 8:45I grew up that way with me. For me, it was I
- 8:48think the population was twenty percent white, thirty thirty percent. Mm. I'm
- 8:56off of my numbers, I know, my percentages aren't are not up.
- 9:01It was only about maybe twenty twenty five percent white. The next largest group
- 9:05was black, and then by far the largest group was Lumbey Indian. And
- 9:11then we had probably about five to ten percent Mexicans as well, I mean,
- 9:16and maybe three percent Asian. I mean literally, you know the kids
- 9:20I grew up playing with and kids I went to school with, except you
- 9:24know, when we left that area were I was like often the only white
- 9:31kid on the ball team, or I was only you know, one of
- 9:33maybe three white kids in the classroom. And you know, we got along
- 9:39fine because no one told us we shouldn't. That's sort of the problem with
- 9:43liberals. They keep trying to divide people and turn them against each other.
- 9:46And that's sort of the secret of Trump is he unites people like him or
- 9:52not. A Trump supporter is a Trump supporter, white, Black, Indian,
- 9:58Mexican, doesn't matter the race. I mean, just you know,
- 10:03Taylor Swift, trash of trying to turn all women against the Republican Party and
- 10:09especially Trump. That's who divides people. I mean, that little piece of
- 10:16trash trailer, Taylor Swift. I'm sorry if that bothers you, her music
- 10:20is horrible, I don't get it. Yeah, she's cute, okay,
- 10:22whatever, her music's not good. It's not good. It's not quality music.
- 10:30What you know, we stopped having music education in schools that was based
- 10:37on classical music, to some extent jazz, we lost a lot. And
- 10:46yeah, I think I guess on that one. I side with probably some
- 10:50of the people more on the liberal side of the spectrum who say we ought
- 10:52to fund arts education in schools. Well, I say, absolutely, we
- 10:56ought to find arts education in schools cential to the human spirit. It cultivates
- 11:03the other mental virtues, if you want to put it that way. We
- 11:07should also have religious education schools. We should absolutely do away with public education
- 11:13and let the Catholic schools take back over. I mean at least, I
- 11:16mean until public schools can. Actually the last week, right, the reports
- 11:24came out that the most recent high school mass schools scores in the United States
- 11:28were so bad they couldn't even be evaluated. They are not enough kids actually
- 11:35able to do basic math to even put it quantify it. I mean,
- 11:43that's how bad. And you talk literacy, moral education. No, if
- 11:48you want to have public schools. You need to show that they are actually
- 11:52doing something more than indoctrinating and abusing kids. Otherwise, fund them, get
- 12:00rid of them. I mean, I don't care. You know, it
- 12:03doesn't have to be a religious education. If that's not what you want,
- 12:05you want to charter school, you want to it's a regular private school that
- 12:11like I went to one for like two years when in my teens I was
- 12:13pretty great. I guess she got a really good education there. It was
- 12:18light years ahead of the public school that I left to go there, and
- 12:22like a fool, I wanted to be with my friends, and I went
- 12:24back to the public school, and by junior year I dropped out. I
- 12:33dropped out because I was bored out of my mind and I was getting into
- 12:37trouble. But I was, you know, what they call intellectually gifted.
- 12:43I could start college early. But then the state legislature passed a bill saying
- 12:48that anyone who did drop out of school could not start college until a year
- 12:52after their graduating class. So I got to spend three years on the community
- 12:56college system, where I learned a lot. But they did that to trap
- 13:01intelligent kids in the public schools. Why do they want that well, they're
- 13:07not so much trying to keep those kids down as those are the very few
- 13:11in that classroom who can read and do math. They inflate the schools scores
- 13:13for the rest of the school, so they play it. They punish kids
- 13:20by leaving them in you know, drug and gang infested schools to be indoctrinated
- 13:26and to be dumbed down because they make the other ones look like they're not
- 13:30so stupid. Well, why are kids stupid? They're not born stupid.
- 13:35They're stupid because they're not being taught. Why is there such a thing as
- 13:37a public school teacher. If the public school teacher cannot teach the student,
- 13:41it's literally that simple, show me you can do the job, or you're
- 13:46fired. And that is why we love Donald Trump. That's his motto,
- 13:52all right. So anyway, person says, have not downright absurdities been tagged
- 13:58onto the teachings of Jesus, They say they have, but not by the
- 14:01Catholic Church. And remember and remember that greater absurdities still have been put forward
- 14:09by pretended human reasoning. Yes, how absurd is it to think that,
- 14:13you know, you should pay a teacher who can't teach or put a kid
- 14:16in a school that can't teach them anyway. Early Christianity boasted many miracles.
- 14:22Christianity can boast none today. Well, again, that's not true in the
- 14:26Catholic Church, where a church full of miracles. They say, God has
- 14:31never ceased to perform miracles in favor of true Christianity, but it is not
- 14:37necessary that so many should occur today. More frequent miracles were necessary in the
- 14:41early Church to a secure its rapid progression, But the Catholic Church is now
- 14:46firmly established. Read little history, Note all the forces employed against the church
- 14:50during the centuries, and then tell me whether it is not a standing miracle
- 14:56to find that the church, that church still existing, the Catholic Church,
- 15:01with undiminished vitality and able to claim over four hundred million adherents. So this
- 15:05was in the nineteen thirties. On this subject of miracles. Also consult earlier
- 15:13questions where they talked about that, actually questions ninety five through one oh three.
- 15:16You don't want me to rehash stuff, We'll just go back a few
- 15:20days on the show and you'll find them. We're on question one A two
- 15:22now, so it's only you know, November check out November. The person
- 15:28says, would you say that the world has benefitted by Christianity? And they
- 15:31say, yes, it has beenefitted in a thousand different ways. Christianity has
- 15:37elevated men's thoughts to a higher level, directed men's wills to a greater good,
- 15:43and has indirectly affected their will being even in the world, even in
- 15:46this world, in almost every department of life. If the world is less
- 15:50happy today than in past years, it is because whilst men still profess to
- 15:54be Christians, they are less willing to behave as Christians and to put their
- 15:58principles into pre Christianity does not force men to be good in spite of themselves.
- 16:04But if men can be really miserable only forsaking Christian principles, it shows
- 16:10that Christianity practice is very likely the one true remedy. Let all men live
- 16:15up to Christian principles, and then if the world is not better, you
- 16:19can blame Christianity. Very well stated, I think that really illustrates my point
- 16:29about you know, so called Christian nationalism. In that little Taylor Swift,
- 16:33more than anything I could say, she's let's just say she's not the most
- 16:41moral person. As she goes around promoting abortion and you know, apparently sleeping
- 16:45with everything that moves. So let's get into Father's Virago's book and we are
- 16:53now to point number two or sub chapter number two on the Apostles Creed,
- 17:03and this is concerning divine essence, which is obviously a rather deep point to
- 17:12discuss. It's going to take a little time, so let's jump in here.
- 17:18What God is in his divine nature. Essence is known to us partly
- 17:22from created things, but more clearly from his revelation of himself. Saint Paul
- 17:27tells us that the invisible things of God from the creation of the world,
- 17:33are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made. Creation is
- 17:40a sort of mirror that reflects the divine perfections. Thus, from the beauty
- 17:44of things created, we can infer the greater beauty of Him who created them.
- 17:49So again, from the order that prevails in the visible world, we
- 17:52can conclude that He who made it is a being of surpassing wisdom, and
- 17:57from its vastness we learned the power of Him who upholds and supports it.
- 18:03Yet the knowledge thus obtained is always imperfect and obscure. From a beautiful picture,
- 18:08we do not learn much about the character of the painter in creatures.
- 18:12We see God only as through a glass and in a dark manner. Represent
- 18:18Corinthians. The Heathens before the coming of Christ were sunk in the grossest vices,
- 18:22and this darkened their intellect and rendered them still less able to arrive at
- 18:27a knowledge of God from his works. Oddly enough, modern liberal thinkers take
- 18:33issue with such a statement. All the Heathen was pure and simple. Yeah,
- 18:38you know, tell that to the Mayans, who are mostly eaten by
- 18:41the Aztecs. Okay, I mean really all right. In order to enlighten
- 18:51the ignorance, God revealed himself to men, speaking to them by the mouth
- 18:56of the patriarchs and the prophets sent above all by the mouth of his on
- 19:00Jesus Christ. It was Christ who gave to men the clearest manifestations of the
- 19:04manifestation of the nature of God. All the rest spoke somewhat obscurely, for
- 19:10none of them had seen God face to face. And by the way,
- 19:14I mean to just single out, you know, Mexicans or anyone the Germanic
- 19:19tribes as that yesterday were incredibly violent. Rome was a place of unspeakable horror,
- 19:26where people just took their unwanted children through them on the trash heap and
- 19:30cheered at watching people torn about part by wild beasts. Read the Book of
- 19:34Maccabees to see how cruel the Greeks were. Look at Genghis Khan. I
- 19:38mean just you know, every single culture still, I mean the horrors that
- 19:45have happened in Africa, even in modern times. Seriously, people are not
- 19:52good without religion by definition. Actually, even since God's revel of himself,
- 20:00man is not capable of a thought or a complete knowledge of the nature of
- 20:07God. The reason for this is that God is infinite and man is only
- 20:10finite. Just as we cannot inclose a boundless ocean and a little vessel,
- 20:15so we cannot take in the infinite majesty of God with our finite understanding.
- 20:22Behold, God is great, exceeding our knowledge. The things that are of
- 20:26God. No man can knoweth but the spirit of God. It's also from
- 20:30Corinthians. We can either express in words nor conceive in thought what God really
- 20:34is. When the sage Semites was asked by Hiro, king of Syracuse,
- 20:44what God is, he took first, then, well, oh, yes,
- 20:48okay, I remember the story. Now he took first then two days
- 20:52to consider the question, and then he requested four days more then eight,
- 20:56and finally said to the King that the longer he thought about the matter,
- 21:00the more obscure did it become to him. It is easier to say what
- 21:04God is not than what he is. He who attempts to fathom the majesty
- 21:08of God becomes profane. It is told of Icarus in the Old Mythology that
- 21:15he fastens wings to his side with wax and attempted to fly up to heaven.
- 21:19But when he came to near the sun, it melted the wax,
- 21:22and he fell into the sea and perished. So it is with those who
- 21:25seek to fathom the nature of God. He casts them down into a sea
- 21:29of doubt and unbelief. He who gazes upon the sun becomes dazzled. So
- 21:33it is with those who seek to penetrate into the nature of God. Even
- 21:37the angels fail their faces before God, the most perfect of them cannot comprehend
- 21:44his majesty. They are like a man who looks upon the sea from some
- 21:48high point. He sees the sea, but he's not see the whole of
- 21:49it. How can we expect to reach the heights which even the angels cannot
- 21:55obtain. We can only give an imperfect and incomplete explanation of the nature of
- 22:00God. Firstly, God is a self existent being, infinite in his perfections,
- 22:08glory and beatitude, the creator and ruler of the whole world. When
- 22:12Moses ask Almighty God his name on the occasion of his appearing the burning bush,
- 22:17God answered, I am who am I E? I exist of myself.
- 22:22I derive my being from myself. All other beings derive their existence from
- 22:29God, and therefore, in comparison of him, are as nothing. Hence
- 22:33David says, my substance is as nothing before thee God also possesses the highest
- 22:38perfection. We see how some beings upon the earth are more perfect than others.
- 22:44Some things have only existence without life, as stones and metals. Others
- 22:48have life but without sensation, such as trees and plants. Others have sensation
- 22:53and movement as well as such as birds and beasts. Man has a spirit
- 23:00with intellect and free will. Above man, there are countless numbers of pure
- 23:04spirits, each with a special perfection of its own, and each increasing in
- 23:10virtue as it descends towards the throne of God. But they can never arrive
- 23:14at infinite perfection, since the most perfect among them can always attain some higher
- 23:19excellence. Hence, we must believe in a being of infinite perfection from whom
- 23:26all other beings derive their virtues, who possesses in himself, and who is
- 23:30infinitely exalted beyond all existing or possible perfections that can be found in all other
- 23:37beings than himself. Nothing greater than God can exist or even be thought of.
- 23:42God is also infinite in glory and beauty. For if on the earth
- 23:45there exists so many beautiful things, how far greater must be the beauty and
- 23:51glory of God. Since it is He who gave them all their beauty,
- 23:56He could not have given it unless He already possessed it. His life like
- 24:00the boundless ocean, and the beauty of all created things is like a series
- 24:03of drops taken from the ocean. God is also infinite in his supreme happiness
- 24:08or beatitude. He lives an endless and infinite joy. No creature can interfere
- 24:15with the perfection of his happiness. None can increase or diminish it. As
- 24:19the sun needs no light from other bodies because it is itself, the light.
- 24:23So God needs nothing from others, because he is himself in possession of
- 24:30all good. We can only give to him what we have already received from
- 24:36him. God is who creator of the whole world of heaven and earth and
- 24:38the sea, is also the King and Lord of all, and has made
- 24:42all things outside of himself subject to certain fixed laws. The earth is subjected
- 24:48to fixed laws. It goes around the Sun in three hundred and sixty five
- 24:52and a quarter's days, and revolves on its own axis in twenty four hours.
- 24:57All the heavenly bodies have. All the heavenly bodies move according to fixed
- 25:03laws, so that we can foretell eclipses of the Sun and moon, et
- 25:07cetera. There are laws which regulate all material things on the face of the
- 25:11earth. Plants, trees, and animals have their growth and development governed by
- 25:15stated laws. The actions of reasonable beings are also governed by laws, which,
- 25:19however, by reason of their free will, they are able to disobey.
- 25:25The penalties for transgressions are laid down by Almighty God. God is the
- 25:29King of kings and the eternal King. The majesty of the greatest of the
- 25:33earthly kings is but a feeble and faint reflection of the majesty of God.
- 25:38Hence, we are bound to obey him because he is our King, and
- 25:42he will have all subject to him, either willingly in this life or against
- 25:47their will, to eternal misery. Debt Believe it or not has become somewhat
- 25:55of a controversial statement. Recently celebrated the feast of Christ the King, Christ
- 26:03the King of the Universe, and when Catholics began posting Christ is the King,
- 26:07a lot of people got upset. Why well, some said it was
- 26:11anti Semitic, which is idiotic. It does not take away from a Christian's
- 26:18belief in Christ as Lord and God and King just because a Jew doesn't believe
- 26:22the same thing, and vice versa. What it really is is our secularist
- 26:32society resents any system of morality that differs from their own empty hedonism. I
- 26:44guess it's about the best way to put it, you know. In other
- 26:45words, Taylor Swift doesn't like it and Joe Scarborough doesn't like it. Yeah,
- 26:52well that's uh yeah, let's weigh out there intellects as compared to say,
- 26:56oh, I don't know, father's bara, I go. William F.
- 27:00Buckley, can you Imagine Joe Scarborough in a debate with William F.
- 27:04Buckley. That would be hilarious. Imagine Phyllis Schlaffley in a debate with Taylor
- 27:11Swift. That would be pathetic. Actually, that would not even be hilarious.
- 27:17That would be like a vapid moron speaking to you know, Albert Einstein.
- 27:23I mean, you'd seriously, and I know she's a very good businesswoman.
- 27:29You do have to get her credit for that, but that's about all
- 27:30the credit I'll give her. She's quite bright in the terms of business,
- 27:34but not in terms of the things in life that truly matter, the things
- 27:38in life that will attain real happiness. She's obviously not getting the things that
- 27:44really matter in life right. And she continues on this path, as Father
- 27:49Spiago just said, she will against her will be subject to eternal misery.
- 28:00So say a praier for Taylor Swift, say a prefer Joe Scarborough, These
- 28:03Amika Brazinski and you know, even Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi. These people
- 28:08need help. They need a lot of help. They need I need to
- 28:15realize that their ideology is just self destructive and destructive to all around them.
- 28:22In I mean if they got their will, if they got their way,
- 28:26America would not be America. And it's really not what it once was at
- 28:32all. It's not a free country, and we're not in a free country
- 28:34anymore. We're not a strong country. We're not a vibrant country. And
- 28:41I mean their ideology is truly the ideology of death, killing babies, relationships
- 28:48that have no procreative potential, you know, gay marriage and such, trans
- 28:56cutting people's bits off because they're confused as a kid, damning them to a
- 29:00lifetime of misery and hopefully not an eternity of misery. Nothing good. I
- 29:11always say liberalism is a mental disorder, but it has nothing. And I
- 29:17don't mean classical liberalism. I mean if William F. Buckley was here,
- 29:19he's pointing out that classical liberalism is a very different Yes, I know,
- 29:23I'm talking atheistic, socialistic, communistic, fascistic, modern left beat the new
- 29:36boss same as the old boss. You know, Hitler and Joe Biden not
- 29:40that far apart. Actually, I'm a shoot. Hitler was a vegan who
- 29:48didn't drink or smoke and an animal rights activist. So wow, So Greta
- 29:56Thunberg, maybe you know it's always the same thing in just another generation,
- 30:03another form, you know, from Robespirit to Stalin to Bill Clinton, I
- 30:11mean Hillary Clinton, Oh my gosh. You know, if there's anybody who
- 30:18is a better example of the utter misery of the liberal ideology. I mean,
- 30:26she is not a happy camper. She's a miserable person. And I
- 30:30cannot imagine. I mean, can you imagine spend in five minutes with Hillary
- 30:34Clinton? That would be as close to Helen Earth as I think we could
- 30:41come, except like with an MS thirteen gang member cutting your bits off.
- 30:47I mean, it would be almost as bad. All right. We cannot
- 30:52see God because he is a spirit i e. Being without body, immortal,
- 30:59possessed of intellect and free will. Our Lord says God is a spirit
- 31:03and that they adore that they that adore Him must adore him in spirit and
- 31:07in truth. It's from Gospel John. It is because God is a spirit
- 31:12that the Jews were strictly forbidden to make any image of him. That's I
- 31:18mean, yeah, you know, before Jesus came in human form, there
- 31:22could be no image made that could portray God. Any image that was thought
- 31:30to betray God was by definition an idol. Now we know what God looks
- 31:37like, the person of Jesus. And really the making of religious imagery is
- 31:47in honor of the personhood of Jesus. When we have a painting or a
- 31:51statue of a saint, it's all in honor of the person, the physical,
- 31:56real person of Jesus, who rose physical being and matter to the level
- 32:05of being able to share its nature with God. I mean, is so
- 32:10wrong that Protestants don't want our saints to start with, but have an issue
- 32:15with Catholics having statues of saints and such. That's all, It's reflected their
- 32:23importance, the religious devotion that they remind us of. It is all the
- 32:28reflection of their devotion to God. Anyway, God cannot be seen by man,
- 32:37and there is a veil between us and God. We can see the
- 32:42stars, we cannot see the stars during the day, but only when the
- 32:45darkness comes on. So we cannot see God during the day of our life
- 32:49on earth, but only when the darkness of death comes over us. In
- 32:52this life, God is a hidden God. He inhabits the inaccessible light,
- 32:58and that's a quote from Isaiah and Timothy. Yet God has often assumed visible
- 33:02forms. Thus he appeared to Abraham as a traveler at the baptism of our
- 33:07Lord under the form of a dove, and in the shape of tongues of
- 33:12fire at Pentecost. But the external form under which God appears was not God
- 33:16himself. In the same way, we often read of the eyes of God
- 33:21or the ears of God, etc. But this is only to impress upon
- 33:23us the fact that God sees and hears us, etc. There is only
- 33:28one. There is one God, and one only. The most perfect being
- 33:32in the world must be only one. The tallest tree in the world must
- 33:37be but one. To say that there are more gods than one is like
- 33:42saying that there can be more than one soul in a human body, or
- 33:45more than one captain on a ship. Even the pagan Greeks and Romans honored
- 33:50one God is supreme among the rest. The plurality of gods probably arose from
- 33:54the plurality of the forces of nature, such as thunder, lightning, fire,
- 33:58et cetera, which filled the beholders with fear and caused them to adore
- 34:02these forces as gods. Or it may have arisen from the deification of heroes,
- 34:07or from the power of the evil spirits, which, having attracted notice
- 34:12caused them to be worshiped as God. At wraps up today's little sub chapter.
- 34:17I think there's a lot to unpack there. When I did, I
- 34:23think there's two or two maybe podcasts a couple months ago on talking about how
- 34:30you can prove the nature the existence of God through the things of nature,
- 34:37like the reflective principle. All life comes from another source. You know,
- 34:40you were born of your parents, who were born with their parents, who
- 34:44are born with their parents. You eat plants that grow from the energy from
- 34:49the sun. You know, the animal you ate the plants that grow that
- 34:53came from the energy of the sun. The sun itself has brought itself into
- 34:58existence. It's composed of gases. And I mean, you know, you
- 35:01can go back and back and back and back and back until you get to
- 35:07the realization that everything we understand and known experience is reflected from another source,
- 35:14and that source could not have been created by anything outside of itself. So
- 35:20and we can get into just that very simple concept. It was a lot
- 35:24of what Father Sparago was discussing in the first paragraph or two. You know,
- 35:30when it comes to next year, when it's time to vote, vote
- 35:35for the person who's done more to protect and promote Catholic teachings, such as
- 35:43you know, giving US Supreme Court justices who overturn rov Wade. If you
- 35:49support a politician who supports abortion, if you vote for any this is church
- 35:55teaching. If you vote for any politician who supports abortion and who openly opposes
- 36:00Catholic teaching, you're committing a sin. Uh. Certainly, you know what.
- 36:07I'll put it this way. If I was a fan of the person's
- 36:09music, Okay, that's that's fine. That you know that person is entertaining
- 36:15and I can enjoy anything that isn't immoral. So if her music isn't immoral,
- 36:21that's that's that's just fine. No, it's the holding her up as
- 36:25an example of how what a woman should be and how women should think and
- 36:32all that. That's you want an example of, you know, what a
- 36:37woman should be. How about go with the Blessed Virgin Mary. There's probably
- 36:39room to disagree on that, you know. I love the Pogues. Shane
- 36:43McGowan was certainly no saint. He did die with it wearing a crucifix.
- 36:50I have the Pogue's albums. I love their music, so I you know,
- 36:55if if it's your business if you want to listen to questionable music.
- 37:00But I certainly certainly would not have followed the teachings of Shane McGowan over those
- 37:12of the Catholic Church. As much as I loved his music and pray for
- 37:17the repose of his soul, I think he probably did come back to the
- 37:21Church at the end of his life. No, just because someone I like
- 37:27their music, I'm not going to follow their example in supporting abortion, or
- 37:32gay marriage, or euthanasia or I mean anything that's you know, opposed to
- 37:39Catholic teaching. That that's actually deifying that person, that's actually violating that very
- 37:45thing we've been talking about, you know, in the Apostles Creed, I
- 37:49believe in one God. To follow the Almighty creator of heaven and earth.
- 37:52Well, that's who we take our instruction from. And I'm going to continue
- 37:58to follow the teachings of the Catholic Church, the words of the Bible,
- 38:00the teachings of Jesus Christ, and you know, attend commandments. There's no
- 38:07person on earth that can alter or change the word of God, not even
- 38:14Martin Luther, who you know, changed the words of the Bible to fit
- 38:16his doctrine. Anyway, y'all have a great day. Hopefully I can get
- 38:21a show done tomorrow, but I do have travel sometime this week. We'll
- 38:23see how it works.
