- 0:33Speaker 1: much as I do right now. I'm just gonna leave

- 2:28Speaker 1: and so thank you in.
- 2:31Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Okay, so before we get started, of course, I have
- 2:35Speaker 1: to ask you. I'm dying to know what's your takeaway.
- 2:39Speaker 3: Beatrice, Look, I kind of felt bad for Zach and
- 2:42Speaker 3: Lydia because I do feel like they were ambushed in
- 2:45Speaker 3: this episode. I feel like it was pretty lame of
- 2:48Speaker 3: the family to frame it as we're.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Gonna talk about Joshua, We're gonna have no.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Family healing, but then when they get there, they're gonna
- 2:55Speaker 3: be like, and actually, you guys are a bunch of
- 2:58Speaker 3: judgmental assholes, and actually, Zach, we don't.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Really like you.
- 3:02Speaker 3: And actually, Lydia, what you said on the podcast was
- 3:05Speaker 3: really lame. Yeah, that was pretty shitty. But did I
- 3:08Speaker 3: named it?
- 3:09Speaker 2: Did I think that Zach deserved it a little bit? Yeah?
- 3:12Speaker 1: He was absolutely surprised, totally, and he would not have
- 3:16Speaker 1: shown up if they had told him in advance because
- 3:18Speaker 1: he's a.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Coward, honestly. And my takeaway remains from last week.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Zach sucks. He does suck. I don't like it.
- 3:25Speaker 1: I don't either. Now my takeaway is, Barry, where are you, honey?
- 3:29Speaker 1: What planet are you on? I know you're out looking
- 3:31Speaker 1: for Sasquatch, and I know you're into the Book of
- 3:35Speaker 1: Enoch and everything, but we need to hear present with
- 3:38Speaker 1: your family and when they're talking about the things that
- 3:43Speaker 1: Zach has said, like, I need you to be a
- 3:46Speaker 1: little bit more proactive. I was proud of him that
- 3:48Speaker 1: he did defend Kim in terms of the process that
- 3:52Speaker 1: she went through after the death of Joshua. I thought
- 3:54Speaker 1: that was great and he didn't have to they're divorced
- 3:56Speaker 1: and all that. But I'm just like, he's so absent
- 4:00Speaker 1: as a father, passive as a patriarch, Like you really
- 4:04Speaker 1: need to show up more.
- 4:05Speaker 3: Like why is Ethan having to fill the role of
- 4:08Speaker 3: the family patriarch and the one that is outspoken for
- 4:12Speaker 3: the sake of the family, Like it's Ethan plat nobody
- 4:15Speaker 3: wants that chromagnum man to fill that father role.
- 4:19Speaker 2: But Barry's just sitting there.
- 4:21Speaker 1: He's checked out completely completely, and I wonder why or
- 4:24Speaker 1: maybe he has been this entire time, which is one
- 4:27Speaker 1: of the reasons Kim became such a tyrant. Yep, because
- 4:31Speaker 1: he was absent. That's what I think, absent Plath daddy Yep. Well,
- 4:35Speaker 1: without further ado, let's get into our recap of Welcome
- 4:39Speaker 1: to plathfill season eight episode to the pots the pot.
- 4:48Speaker 1: You know, I feel like Kim wants to stir that pot.
- 4:53Speaker 1: So yeah, let's get into it well.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Speaking of Kim, we resume her therapy session from last
- 4:59Speaker 3: week at the beginning of this episode, and honestly, I
- 5:02Speaker 3: still feel sad for her, Like the therapy episode or
- 5:06Speaker 3: the therapy part of the episode was pretty emotional, Like
- 5:09Speaker 3: I my take stays the same with that, Like I
- 5:12Speaker 3: feel bad for Kim. She's a traumatized woman. But in
- 5:15Speaker 3: this therapy session, the therapist, you know, tells Kim that
- 5:20Speaker 3: everyone experienced the same loss, but they all experienced it differently,
- 5:26Speaker 3: and so you're going to have to sit in the
- 5:29Speaker 3: space of that, and you're going to have to hear
- 5:31Speaker 3: everybody's truths and everybody's experiences, and then you can also
- 5:35Speaker 3: talk about your own and that's how we move through grief.
- 5:38Speaker 3: And I actually kind of liked the therapist in this episode.
- 5:41Speaker 3: I know she's a total TLC plan to I like her,
- 5:44Speaker 3: but I think she's pretty cool. Like she said something
- 5:46Speaker 3: about grief that grief is internal, but mourning is external, yes,
- 5:51Speaker 3: and in order to mourn, like that's how we move
- 5:53Speaker 3: through the grief, And I'm like, Base.
- 5:56Speaker 2: I had never even thought of it that way.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Oh, it's so true though. It's so true though, because
- 6:00Speaker 3: we all grieve differently and everybody has a different way
- 6:03Speaker 3: of showing that of moving through life like that. And
- 6:07Speaker 3: you know it got to Kim too. You can tell
- 6:09Speaker 3: because she is teary and she is emotional about it.
- 6:13Speaker 3: And then at one point the therapist also told Kim
- 6:17Speaker 3: that she needs to really sit with her play by
- 6:20Speaker 3: play recollections of the day that everything happened, and the
- 6:24Speaker 3: kids need to hear it too, And this got to
- 6:27Speaker 3: Kim a bit, like she starts sobbing, and the therapist
- 6:30Speaker 3: is like, well, one way that you can go about
- 6:32Speaker 3: that is maybe you can tell the story of the
- 6:36Speaker 3: day that it happened, like you're talking to Joshua. Maybe
- 6:39Speaker 3: you talk to him through all of that. And this
- 6:41Speaker 3: is where Kim really started sobbing, And like you can
- 6:44Speaker 3: tell Joshua that you love him and you know, talk
- 6:47Speaker 3: to him about it through the day, and like you
- 6:49Speaker 3: can tell that Kim really hasn't dealt with the loss
- 6:53Speaker 3: of this. And I know some of y'all in the
- 6:55Speaker 3: comments they're gonna be like.
- 6:56Speaker 2: But Kim sucks, She's a bad person, blah blah blah.
- 6:59Speaker 3: Look, dude, hurt people hurt people, and sometimes the people
- 7:03Speaker 3: that are the hardest to love, need to love the most.
- 7:05Speaker 3: And Kim definitely is just coasting through life and has
- 7:10Speaker 3: been coasting through life. And you can see that even
- 7:12Speaker 3: though she's with.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Ken Palmer and she's got a drinking problem.
- 7:16Speaker 3: And you know, she blew up her family and stuff like,
- 7:19Speaker 3: that's all connected to like the shit that she's experienced
- 7:22Speaker 3: in her life. And so you can tell she hasn't
- 7:25Speaker 3: dealt with shit, even though she says she's fine now,
- 7:28Speaker 3: like the loss of Joshua still creeps up to her
- 7:31Speaker 3: and still gets her to this day. And so I
- 7:33Speaker 3: think overall, like it was a productive therapy session very much.
- 7:38Speaker 1: So I felt a lot of sympathy and compassion for Kim.
- 7:43Speaker 1: I was kind of very struck when she was talking
- 7:46Speaker 1: about the graphic stuff yeah, that she saw with Joshua, Yeah,
- 7:51Speaker 1: which leads me to believe that some are all of
- 7:54Speaker 1: her other kids probably also something saw something that was
- 7:58Speaker 1: very graphic and how traumatizing obviously that would be, and
- 8:04Speaker 1: how it's likely that she's got PTSD untreated and she's
- 8:09Speaker 1: had it for all of these years yep. And so
- 8:12Speaker 1: you can stand on your soapbox and you can talk
- 8:15Speaker 1: about like all of the ways that Kim should have
- 8:17Speaker 1: handled this, and maybe some of that is valid, but
- 8:20Speaker 1: I honestly think that she did the best.
- 8:23Speaker 2: That she could.
- 8:24Speaker 1: And then when you couple that with being absolutely entrenched
- 8:29Speaker 1: in a cult and believing, like in a certain kind
- 8:33Speaker 1: of structure for your family and for your faith and
- 8:36Speaker 1: all of this stuff, like it just all kind of
- 8:38Speaker 1: dovetails into the person that Kim becomes and the mistakes
- 8:42Speaker 1: that she also makes with her family and with her
- 8:45Speaker 1: family's significant others, et cetera. So it's just like this
- 8:48Speaker 1: complex situation, and I think that it's important for us
- 8:52Speaker 1: as viewers to not like be super black and white
- 8:54Speaker 1: about it.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Yep. We have obviously.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Criticized the fuck out of Kim, but I mean I
- 8:59Speaker 1: can really sort of of zoom out and see this
- 9:02Speaker 1: woman for who she is and have so much compassion
- 9:06Speaker 1: for her. Now, that doesn't change the fact that I'm
- 9:08Speaker 1: going to come for her a little bit when we
- 9:09Speaker 1: sit down with Zach. Yep, because there was some manipulation
- 9:12Speaker 1: that was happening there. But again, this is all to
- 9:14Speaker 1: me a byproduct of this truly traumatic thing that she
- 9:17Speaker 1: went through that most of us will never go through.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Oh yeah, we may have some sort of a variation.
- 9:23Speaker 1: Some of you, god forbid, might have lost a child
- 9:26Speaker 1: or lost somebody really close to you in that way,
- 9:27Speaker 1: like that is so terrorizing and awful, But like to
- 9:30Speaker 1: have run at over yeah, your child, like that is
- 9:34Speaker 1: just huge, Oh horrible, it is huge, and so like,
- 9:37Speaker 1: I just feel like we need to be a little
- 9:39Speaker 1: bit nuanced in how we are dealing with Kim.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Yeah, because I've been seeing a lot of comments about
- 9:45Speaker 3: people being like, well, but Kim should have done this,
- 9:47Speaker 3: and Kim.
- 9:47Speaker 2: Should have done that.
- 9:48Speaker 3: Right, easy for you to say, exactly, It's so easy
- 9:51Speaker 3: for us on the outside to say what someone should
- 9:54Speaker 3: and shouldn't have done. But ultimately, at the end of
- 9:56Speaker 3: the day, we didn't run over a kid. We didn't
- 10:00Speaker 3: have to experience such a horrific loss and then be
- 10:03Speaker 3: in a family that experienced such a horrific.
- 10:06Speaker 1: Loss while she was pregnant, wow, with Amber pregnant. And
- 10:10Speaker 1: so I know, let's just sidebar for a second. I
- 10:12Speaker 1: know you sent me I guess a TikTok of Olivia
- 10:17Speaker 1: talking about.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Kim and her lies.
- 10:20Speaker 1: I didn't watch it. It's not because I don't think
- 10:23Speaker 1: Kim hasn't lied. It's not because I hate Olivia.
- 10:27Speaker 2: I don't, I never have.
- 10:28Speaker 1: I just feel like it's not I don't want to
- 10:31Speaker 1: see that right now while we're dealing with all of
- 10:34Speaker 1: this other stuff with Kim.
- 10:35Speaker 2: I just want to.
- 10:36Speaker 1: See Olivia shredding her to pieces again and still like
- 10:41Speaker 1: it's just not helpful in any way.
- 10:43Speaker 2: And so I didn't watch what you sent me. I'm
- 10:45Speaker 2: sorry I didn't either.
- 10:47Speaker 3: I only sent it in the purpose of, like, maybe
- 10:49Speaker 3: we can react to it in the future, because Olivia
- 10:51Speaker 3: is in the zeitgeist of talking about it, and she
- 10:55Speaker 3: is coming out in poor taste. Honestly, I know some
- 10:58Speaker 3: of you Olivia's dancer. Yeah she's great, blah blah blah blah, you're.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Just besuded as blah blah.
- 11:03Speaker 3: No, dude, Like she's coming out and reacting to Kim
- 11:06Speaker 3: and talking about how horrible of a person she is,
- 11:08Speaker 3: how much of a liar she is in the wake
- 11:10Speaker 3: of Kim talking about this horrific traumatic event of losing.
- 11:16Speaker 1: But we haven't watched it, so maybe she acknowledges some
- 11:19Speaker 1: of that stuff, Like I don't know, maybe she does.
- 11:21Speaker 1: I want to give her the benefit of the doubt,
- 11:23Speaker 1: and maybe we can watch it for Patreon.
- 11:24Speaker 2: But I didn't watch it.
- 11:26Speaker 1: I just wanted to focus on what we were given
- 11:29Speaker 1: in terms of content, and I just don't want to
- 11:31Speaker 1: hear a bunch of Kim bashing this week.
- 11:33Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a little much when we're talking about something
- 11:36Speaker 3: as sensitive as this, And like, again, you guys can
- 11:38Speaker 3: hate Kim for all you want, and she is not
- 11:40Speaker 3: free of any kind of criticism. We've definitely disised her
- 11:43Speaker 3: a lot. But in the context of this, when she's
- 11:46Speaker 3: literally crying on a therapist scouch, maybe we can.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Chill out a little bit, all right, yep.
- 11:51Speaker 3: So we end the therapy session where Kim is like,
- 11:54Speaker 3: you know, this was supposed to be cathartic. It should
- 11:56Speaker 3: feel cathartic, but right now I'm a bit overwhelmed. And
- 12:00Speaker 3: that's fair and valid because talking about trauma often makes
- 12:04Speaker 3: us relive the trauma again and that can be really overwhelming,
- 12:08Speaker 3: especially in a therapeutic environment. But all that being said,
- 12:12Speaker 3: Kim goes out to her car and immediately calls Lydia.
- 12:16Speaker 3: And at the beginning of this episode, it's kind of
- 12:18Speaker 3: framed like it's a good thing, right, Like she's gonna
- 12:21Speaker 3: call Lydia and be like, hey, I'm ready to talk
- 12:23Speaker 3: about Joshua.
- 12:24Speaker 2: And this takes.
- 12:25Speaker 3: Lydia aback, Like she's at work getting this call from
- 12:27Speaker 3: her mom and she's like whoa, okay, like that sounds great,
- 12:31Speaker 3: and knowing how the episode goes, it's.
- 12:35Speaker 2: Kind of fucked up a little bit.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Yeah, it's kind of fucked up that we're using this
- 12:40Speaker 1: whole like tragedy of Joshua and also Lydia and Zach's
- 12:44Speaker 1: first year anniversary. I'm like, our wedding was such a
- 12:47Speaker 1: debacle girl to like lure them over to have this
- 12:50Speaker 1: what celebration and intimate conversation, but like, what you really
- 12:54Speaker 1: want to talk about, though, is how you did me dirty.
- 12:57Speaker 3: How you did me dirty, and how you did the
- 12:58Speaker 3: family dirty. Also going to have an intervention because we're
- 13:02Speaker 3: pissed off it you.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Guys well, and she even says like I have some boundaries. Yep,
- 13:06Speaker 1: Kim says, I have some boundaries about what Lydia can
- 13:09Speaker 1: talk about. She doesn't say it as overtly as that,
- 13:11Speaker 1: but that's her boundary. Her boundary is around controlling how
- 13:14Speaker 1: Lydia speaks about her own experience in this.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Family, specifically publicly.
- 13:18Speaker 1: Sorry, that's not how boundaries rule boundaries are about your
- 13:22Speaker 1: behavior nobody else's behavior. Now, if somebody is acting in
- 13:24Speaker 1: a certain way and you don't like it, you can
- 13:26Speaker 1: remove yourself or whatever. But like you can't tell Lydia
- 13:29Speaker 1: what she can say and what she can do. We'll
- 13:31Speaker 1: talk about it when we get.
- 13:32Speaker 2: There, we will.
- 13:33Speaker 3: And so then we move on to the bulk of
- 13:35Speaker 3: the episode, which is like leading up to this one
- 13:39Speaker 3: year celebration of Zach and Lydia's wedding, but also a
- 13:43Speaker 3: whole entire family intervention.
- 13:45Speaker 2: And we have.
- 13:46Speaker 3: Teagan writing in Ethan's old man car, why are you
- 13:50Speaker 3: here on the way to this end?
- 13:51Speaker 2: What actually doing? So? Why are you showing up? Teak In?
- 13:56Speaker 3: And like she's wearying I'm not commenting on like her
- 14:00Speaker 3: her outfit in like a negative way, but she's like
- 14:02Speaker 3: wearing like a really cute sexy little dress with her
- 14:06Speaker 3: cleavage out and stuff. And she's like going in Ethan's
- 14:09Speaker 3: car with him on the way to visit his family,
- 14:12Speaker 3: and I'm just like, why are you here if you
- 14:14Speaker 3: have no intention of getting back together with Ethan?
- 14:17Speaker 1: Well, and if you check out Ethan's demeanor, he seems lighter,
- 14:22Speaker 1: he seems happier, and I don't think it's just because
- 14:25Speaker 1: she's there, because in Montana she was there, but he
- 14:29Speaker 1: was not happy. He was very glum. So I'm just
- 14:32Speaker 1: wondering to mathall whether something has happened, whether they have banged.
- 14:37Speaker 2: I kind of wonder.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Whether something's gone down to make Ethan feel a little
- 14:41Speaker 1: more comfortable to bring Toagan.
- 14:43Speaker 3: I kind of wonder if they did bang, because they
- 14:45Speaker 3: are spending some time together, and even Tegan says like
- 14:48Speaker 3: our friendship has improved since the last time we checked
- 14:52Speaker 3: in with them, like after Christmas or whatever, and she's
- 14:55Speaker 3: been to his house and all this stuff. So I'm like, Okay,
- 14:58Speaker 3: maybe y'all are hooking up still, like maybe there's some
- 15:01Speaker 3: physical chemistry, and it.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Feels like it kind of feels like it a little bit.
- 15:04Speaker 3: It just seems really weird to me, And I'm like,
- 15:06Speaker 3: if you guys don't know, Teagan has been posting pictures
- 15:10Speaker 3: on Instagram now in the Year of our Lower twenty
- 15:12Speaker 3: twenty six with her new boyfriend who is not Ethan Plath.
- 15:16Speaker 3: So it's just interesting to me that we're watching this
- 15:19Speaker 3: and it's like, you guys don't end up back together
- 15:21Speaker 3: like what happened. Maybe they had like a little trial
- 15:24Speaker 3: run or something, and they realized it wasn't gonna work out.
- 15:27Speaker 3: I don't know, but they're on the way to the
- 15:29Speaker 3: Plath family farm, and Teagan's like, I was here for
- 15:33Speaker 3: Zach and Lydia's wedding celebration. First of all, why do
- 15:36Speaker 3: you need to be there? Okay, whatever, But Ethan briefed
- 15:40Speaker 3: her on the way there, basically saying, well, actually, it's
- 15:44Speaker 3: not just a celebration. We're also gonna confront Zach and
- 15:48Speaker 3: Lydia for being judgmental as fuck and for talking about Joshua.
- 15:52Speaker 2: And then on the.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Car ride there we hear a little bit more, which
- 15:56Speaker 3: was wild.
- 15:57Speaker 2: I got this is juicy. I was a little shure.
- 16:00Speaker 3: So Ethan tells Teagan that Zach has been talking shit
- 16:04Speaker 3: basically and talking about Teagan, and Tecan's like.
- 16:08Speaker 2: Well, what did he say? What does this little boy say?
- 16:11Speaker 3: And Ethan says that Zach was saying that Teagan was
- 16:17Speaker 3: not right for him and that her daughter was just
- 16:21Speaker 3: extra baggage, which is so fucked up to say. And
- 16:25Speaker 3: he also had problems with Teagan's sexuality and basically implied
- 16:30Speaker 3: to Ethan that her sexuality was like not godly or
- 16:34Speaker 3: whatever or that she wasn't a good Christian woman or
- 16:38Speaker 3: a good enough Christian woman for Ethan, And so Ethan
- 16:41Speaker 3: tells Teagan this, and Hegan's like, Wow, that's fucking rich
- 16:45Speaker 3: coming from this guy who you know had a horrible
- 16:48Speaker 3: like issue with Ethan confronting him at the wedding about
- 16:53Speaker 3: his sexuality, like why are you commenting on mine? And
- 16:57Speaker 3: Teacan's like, I don't.
- 16:58Speaker 4: Judge you guys, Like I didn't judge you guys for
- 17:00Speaker 4: virgins and for not kissing until you got married, Like
- 17:04Speaker 4: I didn't care at all, So like, why are you
- 17:05Speaker 4: judging me? And I was wondering what Zach was reverencing
- 17:09Speaker 4: with her sexuality, because I don't think Tagan's like elgibetic.
- 17:12Speaker 4: I don't think she's by, but maybe it's just because
- 17:15Speaker 4: she's like.
- 17:16Speaker 1: I mean, it leads us to guess because I don't
- 17:18Speaker 1: think they've ever addressed it, so we would guess maybe
- 17:20Speaker 1: she's by or pen or something like that.
- 17:22Speaker 2: But I kind of loved.
- 17:24Speaker 1: That she didn't clarify, no, she doesn't know that to us.
- 17:27Speaker 1: She doesn't owe any explanation to somebody like Zach. It's
- 17:30Speaker 1: who she is, and she didn't say anything.
- 17:33Speaker 3: I actually was wondering if, like Zach was implying that
- 17:35Speaker 3: she was like promiscuous or that she was like like.
- 17:38Speaker 2: The onlyfan stuff.
- 17:39Speaker 3: Yeah, Like I wonder if it was something about that
- 17:41Speaker 3: or like about the way that she dresses, because she's
- 17:43Speaker 3: got a bang in bod and she doesn't like shy
- 17:46Speaker 3: away from showing.
- 17:46Speaker 1: But is that your sexuality.
- 17:49Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 17:49Speaker 1: I don't think that's your sexuality, but like I don't
- 17:51Speaker 1: know either, And Zach wouldn't know because he's a virtus virgin.
- 17:56Speaker 1: He has no worldly experience and he's just a loud dollmouth,
- 18:00Speaker 1: big old dollmouth exactly.
- 18:02Speaker 2: I can't stand his so stupid.
- 18:04Speaker 3: Oh, and Ethan also told Teagan that Zach thinks that
- 18:07Speaker 3: Teagan was using Ethan for his money.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Which is really stupid too.
- 18:11Speaker 3: And so Teagan, why, I mean, I don't think she
- 18:13Speaker 3: was using him for his money at all?
- 18:15Speaker 2: Why what do you mean?
- 18:17Speaker 1: Well, why don't you think so? Because we don't really
- 18:19Speaker 1: have the details of that. And Ethan did admit that.
- 18:22Speaker 3: He paid a lot, but also we heard from Teagan
- 18:24Speaker 3: like what two episodes ago in Montana where she was
- 18:26Speaker 3: like I paid for a lot of stuff, like I
- 18:29Speaker 3: traveled yeah to him, So I don't think she was using,
- 18:32Speaker 3: but I'm just wondering if there's something there that we
- 18:34Speaker 3: don't know. Maybe, I mean, maybe Ethan was offering to
- 18:38Speaker 3: like support her and her daughter or something, and Zach
- 18:41Speaker 3: took that as like, you know, Teagan's taking advantage of him,
- 18:45Speaker 3: because Zach obviously is judging the fuck out of everybody
- 18:49Speaker 3: and making assumptions about everyone that are true or not.
- 18:54Speaker 3: So I don't know. Teagan was obviously mad, mainly about
- 18:58Speaker 3: the fact that he was talking about her.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Because like, if you want to guarantee a punch in
- 19:04Speaker 1: the face with brass knuckles from Delia for real, raccoon,
- 19:08Speaker 1: that's how you do it. You talk about my kid,
- 19:10Speaker 1: don't talk about my fucking don't don't even mention my child.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Yeah, out of your dull mouth or real or a
- 19:16Speaker 2: fight were rappin, Like who are you? God got me heated?
- 19:23Speaker 3: Tiagan is very composed when she's talking about this, like
- 19:27Speaker 3: she's not getting as angry as we are, but you
- 19:29Speaker 3: can tell she's angry, and she says something to the
- 19:32Speaker 3: effect of, like, you know, Zach seems to be very
- 19:35Speaker 3: concerned about like parenting styles and telling people.
- 19:39Speaker 2: What to do with their kids.
- 19:40Speaker 3: And you know, when he has kids, he can do
- 19:42Speaker 3: whatever he wants and he can raise his kids however
- 19:44Speaker 3: he wants. But like, don't be talking about my kid
- 19:48Speaker 3: and the way I parents taste, Like, leave my name
- 19:50Speaker 3: out of your mouth. And Tacan also clarifies to the
- 19:53Speaker 3: camera that Zach has been this way since the very beginning,
- 19:57Speaker 3: even before him on Lydia got married. So he was
- 20:01Speaker 3: making these criticisms.
- 20:02Speaker 2: When he was a boyfriend, how the fuck.
- 20:06Speaker 1: And when when he was living in Barry's at it
- 20:10Speaker 1: in Isaac's old room and around talking about Teagan. That's
- 20:15Speaker 1: crazy to me.
- 20:16Speaker 3: Could you imagine, No, when you first met me fresh off,
- 20:21Speaker 3: fresh off the boat. Yeah, and I'm dating your daughter
- 20:23Speaker 3: and I'm coming into your house and be like, I don't.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Like the way you do things that would have been
- 20:28Speaker 1: so cute, that would have been really fun.
- 20:30Speaker 2: That's only as you guys like me.
- 20:31Speaker 3: Yeah, but like if I was judgmental, Yeah, no, absolutely not. No,
- 20:36Speaker 3: that's crazy to me. I just don't understand where Zach
- 20:38Speaker 3: thinks that he has the right. And so then we
- 20:41Speaker 3: bop on over to the farm. We have Kim and Ken,
- 20:45Speaker 3: you know, preparing and setting things up and decorating, And
- 20:48Speaker 3: this is where Kim says that the camera, you know,
- 20:51Speaker 3: Lydia told me that the night before her wedding was
- 20:54Speaker 3: the worst night of her life and that made me
- 20:55Speaker 3: hurt for her. And so on the one year anniversary
- 20:59Speaker 3: of their wedding, I wanted to put together a celebration again.
- 21:03Speaker 2: She's like, but I want to put together a celebration
- 21:05Speaker 2: and make it a happy day.
- 21:06Speaker 3: And I'm like, oh, Anne also ambush them an intervention
- 21:09Speaker 3: with an intervention. That's crazy, that's diabolical.
- 21:13Speaker 1: So do we think she's being punitive? Do we think
- 21:16Speaker 1: she's doing this on purpose?
- 21:18Speaker 2: I kind of think that's.
- 21:19Speaker 1: Sart Lydia, because she takes pains through this episode and
- 21:23Speaker 1: other episodes to talk about how she wants to be
- 21:25Speaker 1: there for Lydia and how she cares about Lydia. But
- 21:29Speaker 1: it kind of feels to me like she's trying to
- 21:32Speaker 1: punish Lydia. It kind of podcast.
- 21:34Speaker 3: It feels like it's either a punishment for the podcast
- 21:37Speaker 3: or from the earlier part of this season where Zach
- 21:41Speaker 3: and Lydia confronted the family on camera and had an intervention.
- 21:45Speaker 3: Because I remember Kim being shocked by that like discussion
- 21:51Speaker 3: and being shocked that they were upset with her.
- 21:53Speaker 2: So it does feel punitive to me.
- 21:55Speaker 3: What it is in response to I don't know, but
- 21:58Speaker 3: like we can only speculate we're probably will be correct.
- 22:01Speaker 3: I felt like that was really fucked up, and it's
- 22:03Speaker 3: fucked up to like go to great pains to say,
- 22:05Speaker 3: I want to make this a great day for her
- 22:07Speaker 3: because her wedding night was so terrible, but then you're gonna.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Make this one year anniversary awful.
- 22:13Speaker 3: Like I feel bad even though I'm gonna criticize the
- 22:15Speaker 3: fuck out of Zach in this episode, I'm like, this
- 22:17Speaker 3: kind of sucks. Yeah, kind of sucks for them, and
- 22:19Speaker 3: it sucks for Lydia mainly.
- 22:20Speaker 2: I'm just wondering what the intention is.
- 22:22Speaker 3: Yeah, And so Kim also in this segment, is you know,
- 22:28Speaker 3: posing the question of like whether or not it's hypocritical
- 22:32Speaker 3: to criticize Zach and Lydia for being judgmental Christians because
- 22:37Speaker 3: this is on the foundation that her and Barry laid
- 22:40Speaker 3: for all of their children, and she knows that she's
- 22:43Speaker 3: aware of that. So I did appreciate that Kim brought
- 22:46Speaker 3: that up, because at least she's self aware enough to
- 22:49Speaker 3: realize like, yeah, I raised her to be this way,
- 22:53Speaker 3: but is it hypocritical? Yes, but I'm gonna do it anyway.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Well, she's like, the difference is I was parenting my
- 23:00Speaker 1: children versus you're trying to tell grown adults how to
- 23:03Speaker 1: live their lives. And that's the thing, and that makes sense.
- 23:06Speaker 3: That's the thing, and that is based Like Zach and Lydia,
- 23:09Speaker 3: you guys don't know shit about shit.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Yeah, you're talking to adults here, and when you have
- 23:14Speaker 1: your own kids, raise them the way that you want to,
- 23:16Speaker 1: just like Barry and I raised our kids the way
- 23:19Speaker 1: that we wanted to, Like every parent in America brings
- 23:22Speaker 1: up their kids according to their values. But like, you
- 23:24Speaker 1: don't have any place or position to criticize what we're
- 23:28Speaker 1: doing because you aren't a parent.
- 23:29Speaker 2: No.
- 23:30Speaker 1: Yeah, and you're talking to adults and you're telling Mariah
- 23:33Speaker 1: how to live her life.
- 23:35Speaker 2: That was juicy.
- 23:36Speaker 3: And so after we have that little segment, then we
- 23:39Speaker 3: have Isaac pulling on up with the bench that he
- 23:43Speaker 3: answered he's a real man man. He grabs the bench
- 23:46Speaker 3: out of the truck with one hand.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Strong.
- 23:49Speaker 2: He's a strong man. He's a strong man. It's a
- 23:52Speaker 2: farm boy. He has a farm boy.
- 23:54Speaker 3: And he and the purpose of the bench, we learn
- 23:58Speaker 3: is not for not for him to sit on.
- 24:03Speaker 2: What are you implying? Nothing?
- 24:05Speaker 3: And it's reinforced and you know, stop it stop anyway,
- 24:09Speaker 3: It's not for Kim to sit on. It's actually going
- 24:12Speaker 3: to be a memoriam of Joshua, which is very sweet.
- 24:14Speaker 3: Everybody in the family that was there that day is
- 24:16Speaker 3: going to like etch something with wood burning tools or whatever,
- 24:20Speaker 3: like their names or something to commemorate Josha Joshua's memory,
- 24:24Speaker 3: which is very sweet. I'm still wondering why we're doing
- 24:27Speaker 3: this on the one year anniversary of Lydia's wedding, but whatever.
- 24:32Speaker 3: And then we pad on over to inside the farmhouse
- 24:34Speaker 3: where we have weird, creepy, one eyed racist skin braiding
- 24:38Speaker 3: Mercy's hair, but he like doesn't know how to braid
- 24:41Speaker 3: and so we just like tying it and knots in
- 24:43Speaker 3: the back.
- 24:44Speaker 2: Why were you touching this young girl.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Out? Girls who are molested, statistically are most likely to
- 24:53Speaker 1: be molested by a man that the wife or the
- 24:56Speaker 1: mom excuse me, introduces into the home.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Yeah, and I just like, I'm just stir it's weird.
- 25:02Speaker 1: I mean, even if you have a great relationship and
- 25:04Speaker 1: you're like an awesome step dad, Like I still don't
- 25:06Speaker 1: want to see this though.
- 25:07Speaker 3: I think it's weird. I thought the whole scene was
- 25:09Speaker 3: very bizarre, and like he says something about how Kim
- 25:12Speaker 3: is very torn up still because of Joshua and so
- 25:15Speaker 3: this will be a really good thing for her, and
- 25:17Speaker 3: I'm like, okay, shut up, dude, O way, we do
- 25:19Speaker 3: not need your commentary and I don't want to hear.
- 25:22Speaker 2: You talk out of her like at all.
- 25:25Speaker 3: And so then Teagan and Ethan arrive at the farmhouse
- 25:28Speaker 3: and immediately Kim wants to talk to Tegan privately, and
- 25:31Speaker 3: Teagan's like, am I being sent to the principal's office?
- 25:34Speaker 3: Like am I in trouble? Like what's going on here?
- 25:37Speaker 3: And Kim just wants to basically brief Teagan and be
- 25:42Speaker 3: like I just want to make sure you're not gonna
- 25:43Speaker 3: be uncomfortable because your name's gonna be gonna come up
- 25:46Speaker 3: in this intervention and we're gonna be talking about you
- 25:49Speaker 3: and what Zack said about you. And Tacan's like, no,
- 25:51Speaker 3: I'm fine, like I don't want to cause any issues,
- 25:53Speaker 3: like we're Gucci.
- 25:55Speaker 2: And she's like okay, gives a hug. I thought it
- 25:58Speaker 2: was a great conversation.
- 26:00Speaker 1: I think Kim was trying to prepare to again, yeah,
- 26:03Speaker 1: for something that might be said, and she was trying
- 26:05Speaker 1: to take care of it. What.
- 26:06Speaker 3: Yeah, but we're ambushing Lydia and Zach though, Like it's crazy.
- 26:10Speaker 3: Everybody in the family knows what we're gonna be talking
- 26:13Speaker 3: about here, except for Lydia, Zach and apparently Barry. That's
- 26:16Speaker 3: crazy to me, And so everybody goes outside to sit
- 26:20Speaker 3: down and have this chat. Barry arrives late, and we
- 26:24Speaker 3: have Mariah who comes outside just to basically say hi
- 26:28Speaker 3: and then is like, Bye, I'm gonna go bake a
- 26:31Speaker 3: cake with Amber.
- 26:32Speaker 2: What do you think about that?
- 26:34Speaker 3: Look, I can kind of understand it as somebody who
- 26:36Speaker 3: is a little bit of an avoidant person, like, especially
- 26:40Speaker 3: with family conflict like that, I'd be like, I'm gonna.
- 26:43Speaker 2: Go in the kitchen.
- 26:44Speaker 3: I don't want to be here, I don't want to
- 26:47Speaker 3: listen to it. And so she's just taking a convenient excuse.
- 26:50Speaker 3: I know some people are being really really critical of Mariah, like, oh,
- 26:54Speaker 3: she's avoiding conflict again.
- 26:56Speaker 1: Yeah, well, yeah, that's what they all do. And also
- 27:00Speaker 1: she has every right to do that in my opinion. Yeah,
- 27:02Speaker 1: she is a part of a very dysfunctional family. She's
- 27:05Speaker 1: probably been a part of many dysfunctional family meetings. Yep,
- 27:09Speaker 1: she knows where this is going. She brought none of
- 27:11Speaker 1: this upon herself, and she can opt out if she
- 27:13Speaker 1: wants to. And you know what, Ethan is perfectly capable
- 27:16Speaker 1: of handling this on her behalf one percent.
- 27:19Speaker 3: And she knows that they're probably going to bring her up,
- 27:21Speaker 3: and she just doesn't want to deal with the conflict,
- 27:23Speaker 3: which I can understand and respect. And we hear from her, actually,
- 27:27Speaker 3: while she's in the kitchen talking with Amber, we hear
- 27:29Speaker 3: from both of them more about the conflicts that happened
- 27:33Speaker 3: in Montana when Zach and Lydia were there. Mariah does
- 27:36Speaker 3: confirm that both Zach and Lydia sat her down to
- 27:40Speaker 3: tell her that the choices that she was making and
- 27:42Speaker 3: the way that she was living her life were not
- 27:44Speaker 3: godly enough. They talked about her drinking and the alcohol,
- 27:47Speaker 3: and Amber also corroborates that and says that Zach and
- 27:51Speaker 3: Lydia said to Mariah she can't even have liquor in
- 27:54Speaker 3: the house because Amber was there, and Amber's a minor
- 27:58Speaker 3: and it got to a point where I think Amber
- 28:01Speaker 3: was told about all of this because Mariah had this
- 28:03Speaker 3: conversation privately with Zach and Lydia, and here comes based
- 28:06Speaker 3: Amber and Amber. We love Amber, she's got the fire
- 28:10Speaker 3: in her. So when they're on the way to the airport,
- 28:13Speaker 3: I think to drop Lydia and Zack off, Amber straight
- 28:16Speaker 3: up confronts them and is like, yeah, so I heard
- 28:18Speaker 3: you were talking shit. And Amber basically tells Zach, you know,
- 28:24Speaker 3: it's not your place to say anything, like it's one
- 28:26Speaker 3: thing if Lydia wants to talk to us siblings about something,
- 28:30Speaker 3: because you know, she's our older sister, we get that,
- 28:33Speaker 3: but you don't really have a place to dictate what
- 28:36Speaker 3: we do in our life. And you don't need to
- 28:38Speaker 3: tell Mariah what she needs to be doing to live
- 28:41Speaker 3: a godly life. And Zach, according to Amber, straight up
- 28:45Speaker 3: was arguing with her and saying, actually.
- 28:47Speaker 2: No, it is my place.
- 28:49Speaker 3: Actually I do have a right to be a judgmental asshole.
- 28:53Speaker 3: And so on this car ride to the airport, it
- 28:57Speaker 3: sounds like Amber and Zach were arguing constantly. Lydia was crying,
- 29:02Speaker 3: and Lydia was crying.
- 29:03Speaker 2: It was happening ridiculous.
- 29:05Speaker 3: And then they couldn't even come to an agreement, so
- 29:07Speaker 3: they just agreed to disagree. So now we know Zach
- 29:12Speaker 3: is being judgmental, and Zach is telling people in the
- 29:15Speaker 3: family what to do. I've been seeing people online being.
- 29:18Speaker 2: Like, well, we don't know if that's true. We don't.
- 29:20Speaker 3: No, now we have multiple people now saying that this
- 29:23Speaker 3: is what he's doing, and that he has been doing
- 29:25Speaker 3: it since the beginning, before he was even married to
- 29:29Speaker 3: the family.
- 29:29Speaker 1: And so I just want to say an offer for
- 29:32Speaker 1: the court that yes, he's being blindsided right now in
- 29:35Speaker 1: this conversation, but is he because Amber has already confronted him,
- 29:40Speaker 1: He's already been told directly that he should not be
- 29:44Speaker 1: doing that. And Lydia also had a conversation with Kim
- 29:47Speaker 1: in the car where Kim brought it up and said, Hey,
- 29:49Speaker 1: everybody doesn't feel good about what your husband is doing,
- 29:53Speaker 1: and now we're all going to get together for the
- 29:54Speaker 1: first time.
- 29:55Speaker 2: You don't think that's going to come up, Zach?
- 29:57Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, you can't expect to to do this
- 30:00Speaker 3: and to act this way, to not have somebody talk
- 30:02Speaker 3: to you about it. My whole thing is they should
- 30:05Speaker 3: have been upfront about what the purpose of this. They
- 30:07Speaker 3: would not have come, then then fine, then you can
- 30:11Speaker 3: be isolated from the family. If you don't want to
- 30:13Speaker 3: talk to us because we're bringing these concerns to you,
- 30:16Speaker 3: peace out. But at least they were honest about it.
- 30:18Speaker 3: That's my whole thing.
- 30:19Speaker 1: Well, when you have like an intervention for an addict, well, yeah, true,
- 30:24Speaker 1: you don't tell them that people are assembled to talk
- 30:26Speaker 1: to them about their bad, dysfunctional, addictive behavior. You invite
- 30:30Speaker 1: them to something and then everybody's there and then you
- 30:32Speaker 1: confront them.
- 30:33Speaker 2: Now, Zach is not an ad they're not drug addics.
- 30:36Speaker 2: It's not an addict.
- 30:37Speaker 1: But this is kind of one of the ways that
- 30:39Speaker 1: you would get them into the room so that they
- 30:41Speaker 1: can hear what you have to say. I give so
- 30:43Speaker 1: fuck him, Yeah, he suck him. The confidence, the unearned
- 30:48Speaker 1: confidence of a mediocre man gets me every time. Who
- 30:52Speaker 1: do you think you are a young man? What are you?
- 30:54Speaker 1: Twenty years old with your doll mouth and your rat
- 30:58Speaker 1: face and you're having sex the first time in your
- 31:00Speaker 1: life and you want to talk to people about what
- 31:02Speaker 1: they can watch in their homes.
- 31:03Speaker 2: I just hate people like that.
- 31:05Speaker 1: I hate him so much.
- 31:06Speaker 3: Well, it's just like who raised you like.
- 31:09Speaker 1: My judgmental superior Christians raised to evangelical Christians.
- 31:14Speaker 3: That's crazy because I would I would have gotten my
- 31:16Speaker 3: ass beat if I was judging people out in the
- 31:19Speaker 3: streets like my parents raised me with. I don't know
- 31:22Speaker 3: grace and humility like they raised me to be. Like
- 31:26Speaker 3: you don't comment about other people's lives. I just don't understand.
- 31:29Speaker 2: I don't either. I don't understand people grow up this way.
- 31:31Speaker 1: I texted her after I watched it, and I was
- 31:34Speaker 1: seething with the white hot intensity of a thousand suns.
- 31:39Speaker 1: I'm mad because there's too many people like this on
- 31:41Speaker 1: the planet. And then I look at somebody like my
- 31:43Speaker 1: brother named Jesse, who is a beautiful he's the best person.
- 31:48Speaker 1: But he's a Christian. He raised his children to be Christian.
- 31:51Speaker 1: But he's also very scientifically minded. But he's just like
- 31:53Speaker 1: a whole bodied human Christian yep. And he's not telling
- 31:56Speaker 1: anybody how to live their life.
- 31:57Speaker 2: No, He's like, I love you, no.
- 31:59Speaker 1: Matter what, I'm gonna be here, no matter what, what
- 32:01Speaker 1: do you need from me? I love you.
- 32:03Speaker 2: It's not my it's not.
- 32:04Speaker 1: My position to judge anybody else yep, and that is
- 32:07Speaker 1: what Christians are supposed to do. And then you'll get
- 32:10Speaker 1: these Christians who are enamored of Saint Paul and they'll
- 32:13Speaker 1: be like, well, we're supposed to righteously judge other Christians,
- 32:16Speaker 1: Like we're not.
- 32:17Speaker 2: We're not in a church building a church. How about
- 32:19Speaker 2: we just listened to the words.
- 32:20Speaker 1: Of Jesus when he said judge, not let's do you
- 32:22Speaker 1: be judged. Can't we just leave it at that?
- 32:24Speaker 2: Can we?
- 32:25Speaker 1: These bitch ass people, I swear.
- 32:26Speaker 3: To God, And like I was texting you back today,
- 32:29Speaker 3: I was like saying, I don't understand where they get
- 32:32Speaker 3: the right to be this judgmental or why they feel
- 32:35Speaker 3: the need to be this judgmental. My personal theory is
- 32:38Speaker 3: that maybe Lydia is compensating for the fact that she
- 32:41Speaker 3: can't really accept the fact that her whole entire family's
- 32:44Speaker 3: a bunch of fuck ups and that everybody has changed
- 32:47Speaker 3: their tune from this like strict religious like upbringing that
- 32:51Speaker 3: they had. You know, her mom's a drunk, she's dating
- 32:55Speaker 3: another drunk. Ethan is divorced and a drunk. Mariah's got
- 33:00Speaker 3: terrible tattoos, She's in Montana, Mica is and he's also bisexual.
- 33:07Speaker 3: Like she's looking at her family and being like, oh
- 33:09Speaker 3: my God, Like I think she genuinely can't accept it.
- 33:12Speaker 2: And so, like she.
- 33:13Speaker 3: Said today to me over text, that you know, she
- 33:17Speaker 3: is falling headfirst into her religion because that's the only
- 33:20Speaker 3: foundation that she can really cling onto. But girl, get
- 33:25Speaker 3: some fucking therapy.
- 33:27Speaker 1: Well she'll have to go to a Christian church and
- 33:29Speaker 1: get therapy from a pastor.
- 33:30Speaker 2: Cringe.
- 33:31Speaker 1: We're not going to get regular therapy anyway. It's just
- 33:33Speaker 1: so annoying.
- 33:34Speaker 3: It is very annoying, and so everybody sits down for
- 33:38Speaker 3: this big conversation and we don't even get to all
- 33:41Speaker 3: of it in this episode. We're going to continue it
- 33:43Speaker 3: into next week in the finale, which I do love
- 33:47Speaker 3: very much. But we start the conversation kind of awkwardly
- 33:51Speaker 3: because Kim doesn't really know how to bring all of
- 33:54Speaker 3: this stuff up and how to introduce it. We start
- 33:57Speaker 3: talking about Joshua, well, we start talking about the weather actually,
- 34:01Speaker 3: and then we kind of get into Joshua, and Kim
- 34:05Speaker 3: is the one that says directly to Lydia, like, Hey,
- 34:09Speaker 3: I was pretty hurt by some of the things that
- 34:11Speaker 3: you said on those public podcasts, and I didn't really
- 34:15Speaker 3: appreciate it, like, I'm glad that you shared some of
- 34:18Speaker 3: your experience, but I just didn't really like the way
- 34:21Speaker 3: that you went about it. And then, you know, Lydia
- 34:24Speaker 3: proceeds to cry about it because I think she feels bad,
- 34:28Speaker 3: but I also think she's a little angry because you know,
- 34:31Speaker 3: I'm allowed to talk about my own fucking experience, mom.
- 34:35Speaker 1: And she's so communicatively repressed she doesn't know how to
- 34:38Speaker 1: say that in the moment, so she starts to cry.
- 34:40Speaker 3: Yep, And you know, Zach and Lydia again thought that
- 34:44Speaker 3: this conversation was going to be more about Joshua and
- 34:47Speaker 3: not a direct confrontation about her and Zach's behavior, and
- 34:52Speaker 3: so I think she's a bit surprised by this because
- 34:55Speaker 3: she wasn't expecting to have like such a public conversation
- 34:58Speaker 3: with her mom about her mom's hurt feelings. Barry is
- 35:02Speaker 3: also shocked about it too, because he thought that we
- 35:04Speaker 3: were just going to talk about Joshua and like his
- 35:06Speaker 3: memory and stuff. He didn't realize that we were going
- 35:09Speaker 3: to get into all of these hard feelings.
- 35:10Speaker 2: But is he saying anything?
- 35:12Speaker 1: He does end up saying something in defense of Kim.
- 35:15Speaker 1: But it's after Ethan says something in defense of Kim,
- 35:19Speaker 1: so Ethan pipes up and says something like, yeah, I
- 35:22Speaker 1: really don't like to talk about the death of Joshua publicly,
- 35:26Speaker 1: and if I was going to talk about it, I
- 35:28Speaker 1: would prefer to talk about his life and how much
- 35:31Speaker 1: I love him and how I miss him. But like,
- 35:34Speaker 1: talking about the actual death does have an impact on
- 35:38Speaker 1: the other people that were there and that it affects
- 35:41Speaker 1: and so me personally, that's not something that I'm going
- 35:44Speaker 1: to do. At which point Barry I think, oh no, no,
- 35:48Speaker 1: Kim says something I forget how it happened. But Kim
- 35:51Speaker 1: talks about like how she struggled after this happened, and
- 35:56Speaker 1: this is when Barry's like, yeah, like, we did the
- 35:58Speaker 1: best that we could to talk to kids in an
- 36:01Speaker 1: age appropriate way about this extremely tragic thing.
- 36:04Speaker 2: He says that to the camera.
- 36:05Speaker 1: He does into the circle though, He's like, yeah, you know,
- 36:07Speaker 1: your mom was dealing with a lot of stuff. She
- 36:09Speaker 1: was doing the best that she could, so Barry did
- 36:12Speaker 1: have her back. But Kim's real problem is that Lydia
- 36:17Speaker 1: went on that podcast and talked about the death and
- 36:20Speaker 1: then speculated from there that that was the reason that
- 36:24Speaker 1: Barry and Kim divorced. And this is where Barry's like, no, no, no, no, no,
- 36:28Speaker 1: that is not why we divorced, and Lydia does have
- 36:32Speaker 1: to acknowledge that, Yeah, maybe she shouldn't have said that,
- 36:36Speaker 1: m hm, maybe it was in poor taste, but I'm
- 36:39Speaker 1: going to be like, she has every right to say
- 36:41Speaker 1: that because y'all fucking don't talk. You're not talking to her,
- 36:44Speaker 1: and at this time, when you're getting a divorce, you
- 36:46Speaker 1: guys are making her parent your literal children.
- 36:50Speaker 2: She's in the dark.
- 36:51Speaker 1: She doesn't know what is happening. You all are going
- 36:53Speaker 1: against everything you taught her to believe and to do,
- 36:57Speaker 1: and so she has every right to speculate, like what
- 36:59Speaker 1: is this connect to why is this happening? Because you're
- 37:02Speaker 1: leaving your kids in the dark and they have no
- 37:04Speaker 1: idea what's happening, dummies.
- 37:06Speaker 3: And Lydia even says that in the circle, She's like,
- 37:08Speaker 3: you know, I was kind of left to speculate, and
- 37:11Speaker 3: Kim's like, yeah, I get that, but like this was
- 37:14Speaker 3: a private thing between your dad and I, and like
- 37:16Speaker 3: there were a lot of reasons why we ultimately divorced
- 37:20Speaker 3: and like Joshua wasn't the reason. And Kim to the
- 37:23Speaker 3: camera also defends Barry and says, like, Barry has always
- 37:27Speaker 3: had my back when it came to Joshua and everything
- 37:31Speaker 3: surrounding it, and I will always, like really love him
- 37:34Speaker 3: for that, because even though they've had their problems, like
- 37:37Speaker 3: Barry never once blamed her and never once made her
- 37:40Speaker 3: feel guilty. Like all of the guilt and the shame
- 37:43Speaker 3: that Kim still carries around to this day, like is
- 37:45Speaker 3: all her own and it's all mixed with the rest
- 37:48Speaker 3: of the family, But Barry has always had her back
- 37:51Speaker 3: and I did really appreciate that, and I think that
- 37:54Speaker 3: that's a testament to Barry's character.
- 37:56Speaker 2: It's a small one.
- 37:56Speaker 3: Because the rest of it is just such a milk
- 38:01Speaker 3: toasts really is.
- 38:04Speaker 1: I also loved when Ethan connected the dots here for
- 38:09Speaker 1: Kim as well, because Kim it has a hard time speaking,
- 38:13Speaker 1: just like everybody else in this family. But Ethan is
- 38:15Speaker 1: the one that says, you know, you two, Lydia and Zach,
- 38:18Speaker 1: you are the ones who said, don't go talking about
- 38:21Speaker 1: us to other people unless you talk to us first, like,
- 38:25Speaker 1: don't go behind our backs. And yet Lydia, you went
- 38:28Speaker 1: on a public podcast too, I guess, and you talked
- 38:33Speaker 1: about Joshua, you talked about Kim, you talked about the divorce,
- 38:36Speaker 1: and you didn't even go to Kim first and let
- 38:39Speaker 1: her know, Hey, I'm going to be talking about this now.
- 38:41Speaker 1: Lydia does say, well, I didn't know that I was
- 38:43Speaker 1: going to be talking about that. They asked about Joshua,
- 38:46Speaker 1: and I just answered honestly in the moment, and I
- 38:48Speaker 1: believe her, yes, But there is something to be said for,
- 38:51Speaker 1: like why are you guys telling us how we should
- 38:54Speaker 1: conduct ourselves in this family and being so worried about gossip,
- 38:57Speaker 1: But here you are talking to every about all these
- 39:01Speaker 1: things and also going on actual podcasts and talking about
- 39:03Speaker 1: our business.
- 39:04Speaker 3: And I think that's the crux of the issue. It's like,
- 39:07Speaker 3: why didn't you just at least warn us ahead of
- 39:10Speaker 3: time that you were going to be going on these podcasts?
- 39:12Speaker 3: Like even if you don't know, which I have a
- 39:14Speaker 3: hard time believing that they didn't know what they were
- 39:16Speaker 3: going to be asked, because a lot of the time,
- 39:18Speaker 3: when you're going on these podcasts and stuff, you're usually
- 39:21Speaker 3: given like, hey, this is like a template, this like
- 39:23Speaker 3: what we're going to talk about are you fine with
- 39:25Speaker 3: these topics? Like, so I think they probably were briefed
- 39:28Speaker 3: on it. Lydia does say like she didn't have time
- 39:31Speaker 3: to really think through her answers, and so I do
- 39:34Speaker 3: give her that she is a little bit young and dumb,
- 39:37Speaker 3: and so she probably didn't think about how this would
- 39:40Speaker 3: impact everybody in the family. But to me, like my
- 39:44Speaker 3: personal opinion, when you're going to talk about something as
- 39:47Speaker 3: sensitive as the death, like a traumatic death of a
- 39:50Speaker 3: loved one, maybe you should be like, hey, you know,
- 39:54Speaker 3: this was like a really sensitive topic, like let's not
- 39:56Speaker 3: talk about this too much, Like it was really hard
- 39:58Speaker 3: for me, of course, and it was because we didn't
- 40:00Speaker 3: talk about.
- 40:01Speaker 2: It, but like, leave it at that, you didn't know.
- 40:03Speaker 2: I disagree.
- 40:04Speaker 1: She has every right to talk about it. This is
- 40:05Speaker 1: her life. She experienced it firsthand. Lydia has every right
- 40:10Speaker 1: to say how she feels and recount what she saw
- 40:13Speaker 1: or say whatever she wants. Now, what she should have
- 40:15Speaker 1: done differently is as soon as that podcast concluded, she
- 40:18Speaker 1: should have called Kim and said, hey, yeah, I was
- 40:21Speaker 1: on this podcast. They happened to ask about this. This
- 40:24Speaker 1: is what I said, and I want you to know
- 40:26Speaker 1: because it's going to be public in a month or whatever,
- 40:28Speaker 1: Like she could have given Kim some kind of a
- 40:30Speaker 1: heads up, especially knowing how this is traumatized, not just Lydia,
- 40:35Speaker 1: but like Kim and the whole family. She didn't do that,
- 40:38Speaker 1: And she's young and she maybe she didn't know that
- 40:41Speaker 1: that would be the right or the mature thing to do.
- 40:43Speaker 1: But like, I think she can talk about whatever she
- 40:46Speaker 1: wants to talk about.
- 40:47Speaker 3: I think that's true in like any other circumstance. I
- 40:50Speaker 3: just think with death, like it's a really sensitive thing
- 40:53Speaker 3: all around, Like you do have to kind of be
- 40:54Speaker 3: careful about stuff like that.
- 40:56Speaker 2: That's just my thing.
- 40:57Speaker 3: I don't think that anything Lydia said really was inherently
- 41:01Speaker 3: wrong when she was going on.
- 41:02Speaker 2: These podcasts whatsoever.
- 41:04Speaker 3: I think where she kind of overstepped was when she
- 41:06Speaker 3: was speculating about her parents' divorce. I do think that
- 41:09Speaker 3: that was probably inappropriate and a little sensitive. She has
- 41:11Speaker 3: right to say, she does have every right to feel it.
- 41:14Speaker 3: She has every right to speculate and stuff like that.
- 41:17Speaker 3: And Kim doesn't have a right to tell her adult
- 41:20Speaker 3: kids what they can or cannot say. Like you can
- 41:22Speaker 3: be upset about it and you can have a conversation
- 41:24Speaker 3: after the fact and be like, hey, I didn't really
- 41:27Speaker 3: really like that you said that. Maybe we can talk
- 41:29Speaker 3: about it a little bit more and we can clear
- 41:31Speaker 3: the air. That's fine, But she doesn't have a right
- 41:33Speaker 3: to police what they say. I just think when you're
- 41:35Speaker 3: talking about something as sensitive as death, like you, you
- 41:38Speaker 3: do have to kind of tread lightly.
- 41:40Speaker 2: That's just my personal opinion. I disagree. That's my personal opinion.
- 41:43Speaker 2: I disagree.
- 41:44Speaker 3: And so then when they're talking about Joshua, Zach pipes
- 41:47Speaker 3: up with his little doll fucking mouth and he's like, well,
- 41:51Speaker 3: Lydia didn't get a chance to talk about her experience,
- 41:54Speaker 3: and anytime that she did talk about her experience, she
- 41:57Speaker 3: was shut down.
- 41:58Speaker 2: And I'm just like, were you there? How long have
- 42:02Speaker 2: you been here, sir?
- 42:04Speaker 3: Like you've been here for one minute, you've been here
- 42:06Speaker 3: for a year, Like what are we doing?
- 42:08Speaker 1: You have no idea what you're talking about? And I
- 42:10Speaker 1: assume Lydia told you that herself, But like, this is
- 42:13Speaker 1: not for you. This is the part where you just
- 42:17Speaker 1: sit back and let your wife talk to her family
- 42:20Speaker 1: about the thing that she did that hurt the family.
- 42:23Speaker 1: That has nothing to do with you.
- 42:26Speaker 3: At all, And I really did not like that he
- 42:28Speaker 3: stepped up and said anything about it. And he's saying
- 42:31Speaker 3: this stuff on the behalf of Lydia or on Lydia's behalf,
- 42:35Speaker 3: and like almost like he's speaking for her. And I
- 42:38Speaker 3: was texting you today that, like, I feel like Lydia's
- 42:41Speaker 3: being a bit misguided here by Zach, because I think
- 42:44Speaker 3: Lydia actually isn't deciphering her own emotions or learning how
- 42:50Speaker 3: to feel her own emotions. I think, in my personal opinion,
- 42:53Speaker 3: y'all can come for me. I think she's making Zach
- 42:55Speaker 3: do it for her because Zach, I think, feels purposeful
- 42:58Speaker 3: to be like, no, this is how you feel, and
- 43:00Speaker 3: like actually, like this is the root of all of
- 43:03Speaker 3: your issues. Is the Joshua stuff, And like, look, maybe
- 43:06Speaker 3: some of his assumptions about the family and their dysfunction
- 43:09Speaker 3: are true, and in the confines of a marriage, like
- 43:13Speaker 3: these kinds of conversations totally happen. Like I talked to
- 43:15Speaker 3: my wife all the time about my family, Like that's
- 43:17Speaker 3: just what you do. But it's still my emotions to process,
- 43:23Speaker 3: just like it's still a Lydia's emotions to process. And
- 43:26Speaker 3: I don't like that Zach is kind of just speaking
- 43:29Speaker 3: for her in a lot of these regards, like Lydia
- 43:32Speaker 3: needs to feel it, she needs to process it, and
- 43:35Speaker 3: she doesn't need Zach's perspective dictating her own experience. Well.
- 43:39Speaker 1: And also Kim counters to the camera, I've talked to
- 43:44Speaker 1: my kids about Joshua's death, and when they have come
- 43:47Speaker 1: to me, and if they've asked, I've absolutely been there
- 43:50Speaker 1: for them and I've answered them. And so this could
- 43:52Speaker 1: be a case of Lydia trying to share how she
- 43:55Speaker 1: feels with her husband and her husband interpreting for her
- 43:59Speaker 1: what her experience exactly when it wasn't that necessarily we
- 44:03Speaker 1: don't know because we weren't there.
- 44:04Speaker 2: But like Zach, just shut up, just shut up.
- 44:08Speaker 3: And I really think he's making everything worse by opening
- 44:11Speaker 3: his little baby doll mouth, Like just shut up for
- 44:15Speaker 3: a little bit, Like it is not your place. It's
- 44:18Speaker 3: not like Zach has been married into this family for
- 44:21Speaker 3: two decades and has been an integral part of the
- 44:24Speaker 3: family dynamic, Like he's literally only been here for a year,
- 44:27Speaker 3: So maybe sit back and just listen and observe, Like
- 44:31Speaker 3: that's where you're supposed to be right now, and Kim
- 44:34Speaker 3: also talks about how she tried to talk to Lydia
- 44:37Speaker 3: about Joshua and the car ride home from Wisconsin, and
- 44:41Speaker 3: Lydia was completely unresponsive and not willing to engage, and like, look,
- 44:44Speaker 3: that's her right too, because it's complicated, like especially if
- 44:47Speaker 3: you have resentment and acre towards your parent and stuff,
- 44:50Speaker 3: like if your parent's trying to reach out at a
- 44:52Speaker 3: certain point when you're still angry, it's.
- 44:54Speaker 2: Like, oh God, don't talk to me.
- 44:56Speaker 3: You know, like it's difficult, and Lydia again needs therapy
- 44:59Speaker 3: to be able to deal with that and be able
- 45:01Speaker 3: to talk to her mom, but then to like go
- 45:03Speaker 3: on podcasts, it's just crazy to me. So like this
- 45:07Speaker 3: whole situation is really messy. And so after we get
- 45:12Speaker 3: through the Joshua conversation, then Kim pipes up and says,
- 45:16Speaker 3: does anybody else have anything they want to share? And
- 45:20Speaker 3: of course Ethan is like, yeah, Zach, let me get
- 45:23Speaker 3: my balls out, Let.
- 45:25Speaker 2: Me put my dick right out the table, and.
- 45:27Speaker 3: I need to clear some error with you, Zach. He
- 45:31Speaker 3: straight up says that his critiques of other members of
- 45:36Speaker 3: the family are downright disrespectful and an overstep, and you know,
- 45:42Speaker 3: Zach or Ethan says something like, you know, I think
- 45:45Speaker 3: he says it in the preview, so I'm jumping ahead.
- 45:47Speaker 3: But he's like, you know, it's really hard to like
- 45:49Speaker 3: have a relationship with you, especially when you're criticizing everybody else.
- 45:52Speaker 3: And then of course Zach puts on his victim hat
- 45:55Speaker 3: and he's just like, well, Ethan's throwing me out of
- 45:58Speaker 3: the farmhouse, and you know, it's real rich that he's
- 46:01Speaker 3: got these issues with me when I haven't talked to
- 46:04Speaker 3: him about how he called me gay last year and
- 46:07Speaker 3: how he was giving me a hard time.
- 46:09Speaker 1: Because you're scared. You've certainly talked to the camera about
- 46:12Speaker 1: it though.
- 46:13Speaker 2: Uh huh.
- 46:14Speaker 3: And also, Ethan's still allowed to talk to you about
- 46:17Speaker 3: his criticisms, So just because you haven't come to him
- 46:20Speaker 3: with your issues doesn't mean that there's like this unspoken
- 46:23Speaker 3: rule that Ethan can't.
- 46:25Speaker 2: Talk to you about his issues.
- 46:26Speaker 3: Like that doesn't make any sense to me. And I
- 46:28Speaker 3: think the episode ends with Zach to the camera saying.
- 46:34Speaker 2: Man, so I'm just a problem for the whole family. Now,
- 46:37Speaker 2: I guess he'll just shut up and leave. What am
- 46:40Speaker 2: I supposed to do? Wrestle them?
- 46:42Speaker 1: My god?
- 46:43Speaker 3: Dude, bitch baby, he's such a bitch baby. You're crying
- 46:46Speaker 3: about the fact that you're getting called out for criticizing
- 46:49Speaker 3: members of the family that you don't even know well,
- 46:52Speaker 3: like who are you? So we get to the preview
- 46:54Speaker 3: for next week's episode, which looks like it's gonna be
- 46:57Speaker 3: the finale. We're continuing the family intervention where Ethan tells
- 47:01Speaker 3: him tells Zach that it's hard to build a relationship
- 47:03Speaker 3: with him and that he would appreciate if he could
- 47:06Speaker 3: keep his bitch ass baby ass opinions to himself.
- 47:11Speaker 2: And then we have.
- 47:11Speaker 3: Barry laughing with Zach about how he shouldn't be exporting
- 47:17Speaker 3: his opinions to lands that don't want to import.
- 47:21Speaker 2: My god bet boop Bob. And then we have Mariah saying, well, okay.
- 47:26Speaker 3: I mean, if somebody's gonna judge me, I'm just going
- 47:28Speaker 3: to judge him back, bitch. We have Kim saying that
- 47:33Speaker 3: her and Barry are the only ones that get to
- 47:35Speaker 3: make the decisions about how the kids are raised, and
- 47:38Speaker 3: that kind of gives the impression that Zach is trying
- 47:41Speaker 3: to tell Kim and Barry how to raise their younger kids.
- 47:44Speaker 3: That's what it sounds like what they did wrong the
- 47:47Speaker 3: older kids, y'all. And then Lydia, you know, cries to
- 47:51Speaker 3: the camera about how Zach is just always constantly misunderstood
- 47:55Speaker 3: time and time again, just nobody gets him up. And
- 48:00Speaker 3: then Zach cries to the camera, and that's where he says,
- 48:02Speaker 3: what am I supposed to do? Am I supposed to
- 48:04Speaker 3: wrestle them?
- 48:05Speaker 1: You're supposed to take responsibility for lecturing other people and
- 48:09Speaker 1: for being superior and sanctimonious. You're supposed to have some
- 48:12Speaker 1: self reflection and look at the shit that you've actually
- 48:14Speaker 1: done that has offended somebody, and you're supposed to apologize
- 48:17Speaker 1: for it. That's what adults and actual Christians do, yep, Zachary.
- 48:22Speaker 3: And sometimes we do the wrong thing, and we're going
- 48:24Speaker 3: to have to sit that sit there and swallow our
- 48:26Speaker 3: pride and accept that we did the wrong thing and
- 48:29Speaker 3: apologize and make amends. But instead we're going to cry
- 48:33Speaker 3: about it, and then we're going to move Lydia to Colorado,
- 48:35Speaker 3: away from the family, because we don't want to have.
- 48:38Speaker 2: To deal with it and deal with how evil her
- 48:40Speaker 2: parents are and how evil the family is.
- 48:43Speaker 1: And so now Lydia's going to be isolated. And I
- 48:46Speaker 1: know she's happy and she loves Zach's family, but I
- 48:49Speaker 1: think they are turbo religious as well in their own way,
- 48:52Speaker 1: and so it's going to be harder for Lydia to
- 48:57Speaker 1: awaken and come out of the fog of the religion
- 49:00Speaker 1: that she's a part of, especially if she is taking
- 49:02Speaker 1: on the expected submissive and subservient role of a Christian wife, Like,
- 49:08Speaker 1: she can't question this guy. This guy seems controlling to me.
- 49:12Speaker 1: This guy seems to want to be the one to
- 49:14Speaker 1: develop the narrative, and like.
- 49:17Speaker 2: Lydia, you in danger, girl, You in danger. You're in danger.
- 49:21Speaker 3: And I want to clarify, like, look, this family is
- 49:24Speaker 3: not free of any kind of criticism. Like, there's a
- 49:26Speaker 3: lot of dysfunction, there's a lot of toxic bullshit, there's
- 49:29Speaker 3: a lot of manipulation and a lot of red flags
- 49:32Speaker 3: in the family. But where Zach has it wrong is
- 49:36Speaker 3: he's telling people how to live their life according to
- 49:38Speaker 3: what he believes God wants. And that's not okay. You
- 49:43Speaker 3: don't have a right to tell adults how they should
- 49:46Speaker 3: live or how they should act. You can have your
- 49:48Speaker 3: own personal opinions about it, but you don't have a
- 49:51Speaker 3: place especially in a big family like this where they're
- 49:55Speaker 3: all pretty close knit and you can have your arguments
- 49:57Speaker 3: about that all you want. You don't have a pl
- 50:00Speaker 3: as a new spouse to dictate what they should and
- 50:04Speaker 3: should not do, period, end of story. Like you just don't,
- 50:08Speaker 3: especially to people who have faith. Yeah, it's just different
- 50:12Speaker 3: than yours. It's yeah, exactly, it's so arrogant.
- 50:15Speaker 2: It's so arrogant.
- 50:16Speaker 3: And again he made it way worse for himself by
- 50:19Speaker 3: being this way. Yes, if he wasn't as judgmental, I'm
- 50:23Speaker 3: sure the family would have warmed up to him, but
- 50:25Speaker 3: they don't like him because of this.
- 50:28Speaker 2: Well, that was a lot.
- 50:30Speaker 1: Yeah, it didn't say in the episode that this next
- 50:34Speaker 1: episode was gonna be the finale, but you think it's
- 50:36Speaker 1: going to be.
- 50:36Speaker 2: It kind of feels like that to me. But maybe
- 50:38Speaker 2: we're gonna have another one after.
- 50:40Speaker 1: I think they're gonna have the conversation, they're gonna say
- 50:42Speaker 1: what they need to say to Zach, and then they're
- 50:44Speaker 1: gonna have some sort of a ceremony for Joshua, which
- 50:46Speaker 1: I think is great. Yeah, and hopefully the family can
- 50:48Speaker 1: come together for Lydia and Zach and we can tie
- 50:51Speaker 1: it up with a nice bowl. First season eight eight,
- 50:54Speaker 1: I always forget that's what I think is gonna happen.
- 50:57Speaker 1: But I'm definitely looking forward to it, and.
- 50:59Speaker 3: I can't wait to see honestly, And I'm kind of
- 51:02Speaker 3: wondering if Micah is just not going to be on
- 51:04Speaker 3: the show anymore, because it's kind of funny how he
- 51:06Speaker 3: hasn't been on since like the very beginning.
- 51:08Speaker 1: That Micah has a boyfriend in Flora, they got it.
- 51:11Speaker 1: It's so inappropriate for us to speculate, but we always
- 51:13Speaker 1: do it.
- 51:14Speaker 3: I think it's either that he's got a boyfriend or
- 51:16Speaker 3: like some kind of algibatic relationship or something. Yeah, and
- 51:20Speaker 3: or he's fed up with the drama and like being public.
- 51:24Speaker 3: Maybe he is just having a soft exit from the
- 51:28Speaker 3: show and he's like, yeah, I don't really need the money.
- 51:30Speaker 1: He's quiet quitting. Yeah, he's like our television sets. Yes,
- 51:33Speaker 1: I'm going to miss him. And honestly, somebody in this
- 51:36Speaker 1: family statistically is gay. I think we need the representation.
- 51:41Speaker 1: I would love to have the conversation, especially among people
- 51:45Speaker 1: of faith and how they deal with that. That to
- 51:46Speaker 1: me would be super interesting. So hopefully, if that's what's
- 51:49Speaker 1: happening with Micah. I'm not saying it is, but whatever
- 51:52Speaker 1: is happening with Micah, I hope.
- 51:53Speaker 3: He comes back me too, and I hope he's happy
- 51:55Speaker 3: most of all me as well.
- 51:57Speaker 1: All right, well, is there anything else that we should
- 51:59Speaker 1: say to these full raccoons before we get up on
- 52:02Speaker 1: at a here bhs.
