- 0:04Speaker 1: This is Patriot's Unfiltered presented by Toyota's official website for
- 0:08Speaker 1: deals by a Toyota dot com.
- 0:13Speaker 2: All right, we are back here in Radio Row, San Francisco.
- 0:17Speaker 3: It's Dus, it's Paul, it's me. Is ever gonna come
- 0:21Speaker 3: by today?
- 0:21Speaker 4: Not today? I don't think not today is going to
- 0:23Speaker 4: do media availabilities.
- 0:24Speaker 3: He's very busy, very busy, very busy.
- 0:26Speaker 5: I mean it's by the time he gets through that
- 0:28Speaker 5: by like noon, I think he running in here right
- 0:32Speaker 5: about one point thirty two o'clock.
- 0:34Speaker 6: So what about Alex. Alex has got to be here.
- 0:38Speaker 7: She's got to be here by two because she's got
- 0:40Speaker 7: to help us do a TV stuff.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Because I told her, I said, every show, I want
- 0:45Speaker 2: you to stop by and tell us like what you've
- 0:47Speaker 2: been up to, like because she's our lifestyle person, right, So.
- 0:50Speaker 3: What there's a lot of lifestyle What do you what
- 0:53Speaker 3: have you visited?
- 0:54Speaker 2: What did you see? What did you do? And just
- 0:56Speaker 2: fill people in on you know, what's going on. So
- 0:59Speaker 2: hopefully you'll be able to do that.
- 1:00Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, she'll definitely be here.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Yeah. Okay, let's see.
- 1:08Speaker 7: You're not going to stand up like that the whole time.
- 1:10Speaker 7: Just to keep people from wander.
- 1:12Speaker 2: But somebody just like trying to watch the right It's
- 1:16Speaker 2: it's Radio Row Who cares.
- 1:17Speaker 7: It's it's it's like PFW in progress, the old We're
- 1:21Speaker 7: in progress.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Well, you know it's the hubbub. It's good people moving
- 1:24Speaker 3: around and you know, shucking and giving shu. Let's let's
- 1:29Speaker 3: see who is this? Parker rights in?
- 1:31Speaker 8: Uh.
- 1:31Speaker 2: If Will Campbell plays poorly on Sunday how One, how
- 1:36Speaker 2: do you think it impacts his role next season? Two
- 1:39Speaker 2: fans on TikTok are starting to turn on him if
- 1:41Speaker 2: he struggles. Is that reaction justified? And three? What would
- 1:44Speaker 2: you consider as a bad game for him? What would
- 1:47Speaker 2: be a good game for me? A bad super Bowl
- 1:49Speaker 2: would be a confidence killer. He seems sneakily emotional. I
- 1:53Speaker 2: worry about his mental if he plays poorly.
- 1:57Speaker 4: Yeah, that's that's a good question. It is a good question.
- 1:59Speaker 5: I mean, you know, it's it's less like the Will
- 2:01Speaker 5: Anderson's of the world. I mean, I think DeMarcus Lawrence
- 2:03Speaker 5: is a really experienced, very good player, probably their best
- 2:07Speaker 5: pass rusher. But really I think it's gonna be more
- 2:09Speaker 5: about handling the stunts. That's what the Seahawks do a
- 2:12Speaker 5: lot of and that's you know, Jered Wilson too, being
- 2:14Speaker 5: able to communicate. And you know, they've had a season
- 2:17Speaker 5: long of it, and I think they've had, you know,
- 2:18Speaker 5: stretches where they've done well, they've also had some times
- 2:20Speaker 5: where they haven't picked him up and Drake's gotten hit.
- 2:22Speaker 5: So look, I just I think turnovers are gonna be
- 2:25Speaker 5: the name of the game, and you just you need
- 2:26Speaker 5: to find a way to get Drake comfortable in the pocket.
- 2:29Speaker 5: There were so many times this year where he was
- 2:31Speaker 5: just in the zone he didn't you know, and sometimes
- 2:34Speaker 5: it was almost to his detriment, Like you felt like
- 2:35Speaker 5: people were like, he just doesn't seem phased by the pressure.
- 2:38Speaker 5: I think it's bad, and I think we've seen some
- 2:40Speaker 5: of that in the playoffs. But if he can get
- 2:42Speaker 5: back to that level of comfort in the pocket and
- 2:44Speaker 5: the and he just he has to step in there
- 2:47Speaker 5: and deliver the ball, it's not gonna come easy. He's
- 2:49Speaker 5: gonna have to make this happen in this game, and
- 2:51Speaker 5: it's hard to see it happen if he doesn't feel
- 2:53Speaker 5: comfortable in the pocket and he's getting hit a bunch
- 2:54Speaker 5: of times.
- 2:55Speaker 6: And he's got up. I mean, he has to play better.
- 2:57Speaker 7: I mean, maybe something a little bit closer to Denver
- 2:59Speaker 7: than Houston.
- 3:00Speaker 4: Yeah, well, don't turn the ball over its step one.
- 3:02Speaker 7: Right, Yeah, But I mean i'm talking about with Will
- 3:04Speaker 7: Campbell and his emotions, you know, just you're right, Mike.
- 3:09Speaker 7: I mean, he did face some really good pass rushers,
- 3:12Speaker 7: but this is gonna be a different kind of test
- 3:15Speaker 7: for him because it's.
- 3:16Speaker 6: More mental that you were talking about.
- 3:18Speaker 7: But I don't know necessarily if I'm willing to make
- 3:22Speaker 7: any broad, you know, declarations for the future. He's a rookie,
- 3:27Speaker 7: he's coming off an injury. It's been I'm not gonna
- 3:31Speaker 7: sugarcoat it. It's been a rocky road. He hasn't been
- 3:33Speaker 7: great in the playoffs. He needs to be better. But
- 3:37Speaker 7: I don't necessarily think you just say, well, that's it,
- 3:40Speaker 7: I've seen enough.
- 3:40Speaker 6: We have to make a move.
- 3:42Speaker 7: I think you're probably going to be looking to make
- 3:44Speaker 7: a move at right tackle because your right tackle is
- 3:47Speaker 7: what thirty four in Mogan moses. So you're gonna have
- 3:50Speaker 7: to You're gonna have I think you're gonna have to
- 3:53Speaker 7: look at that.
- 3:53Speaker 6: But I'd be surprised if they made that move right away.
- 3:55Speaker 6: With Will Campbell. I think he gets at least another year.
- 3:58Speaker 4: It's so hard to find tackles.
- 3:59Speaker 5: I mean, it's you know, it's it's not like, hey,
- 4:00Speaker 5: it's not gonna work out, Let's just go get another
- 4:02Speaker 5: left tackle, you know, Like I think you said it once, Paul,
- 4:05Speaker 5: and I agree, it's just he's gonna get another year.
- 4:07Speaker 4: I think it's just.
- 4:08Speaker 3: That's how I feel at that spot.
- 4:11Speaker 2: He's had some bad plays where he's just gotten beat
- 4:14Speaker 2: flat out beaten, But when you look at overall games,
- 4:17Speaker 2: it's not like like he's falling on his face throughout games.
- 4:22Speaker 2: He has, like you know, lately anyway, you know, maybe
- 4:25Speaker 2: two maybe three plays a game where he just gets
- 4:28Speaker 2: flat out beat, but it's not a.
- 4:30Speaker 3: It's not a disaster.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, I think he's under a microscope because
- 4:34Speaker 2: he's you know, because he was a left tackle ollick
- 4:37Speaker 2: fourth overall pick.
- 4:38Speaker 3: But like if he was not that, you'd be like,
- 4:41Speaker 3: he's fine.
- 4:43Speaker 6: So I actually think it's the opposite.
- 4:45Speaker 7: I think when Venerian Lowe played, everything was microsoft under
- 4:48Speaker 7: a microscope and he was so much more scrutinized than
- 4:50Speaker 7: Will Campbell has.
- 4:51Speaker 3: Well, he didn't play against these guys that he's.
- 4:53Speaker 7: Probably I understand that, but I think Venderian Low I
- 4:57Speaker 7: didn't really notice a whole lot of difference when he played.
- 5:01Speaker 7: Now I don't want him play in every game. I
- 5:02Speaker 7: saw that last year and I know he was hurt
- 5:04Speaker 7: last year. But it's part of the evaluation, yeah, you know,
- 5:08Speaker 7: and I think that's what they're going to be doing.
- 5:10Speaker 6: They're going to evaluate this guy.
- 5:11Speaker 5: I think it's part of the perception too, and it's
- 5:13Speaker 5: that Vederian low was, you know, kind of the guy
- 5:16Speaker 5: that got beat up last year and was the symbol
- 5:17Speaker 5: of like, we can't stop anybody. And Will Campbell has
- 5:20Speaker 5: got a good personality and he's very likable, and so,
- 5:23Speaker 5: you know, I just think that it's just it's all
- 5:25Speaker 5: the perception of what kind of guy they are, and
- 5:27Speaker 5: people are going to go to the mat defending Will
- 5:29Speaker 5: Campbell and even if Darian Lowe is close to it,
- 5:32Speaker 5: you know.
- 5:32Speaker 4: So yeah, it's just it's I think there's a lot of.
- 5:36Speaker 5: Questions going into the offseason, and I continue to think
- 5:38Speaker 5: they really have to make some strides to improve to
- 5:41Speaker 5: to you know, I keep making the comparison to the
- 5:43Speaker 5: three team going out and getting Corey Dillon for oh
- 5:45Speaker 5: four and continuing to evolve and not let teams. You know,
- 5:49Speaker 5: it's just you've got to continue to build around Drake
- 5:52Speaker 5: and put weapons around him and make sure he's protected.
- 5:55Speaker 3: Yep, let's go back to the phone.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Eight five to five pats five hundred Dan or Dan
- 6:01Speaker 2: or don uh Paul.
- 6:02Speaker 3: Looks like don don d Dan in Massachusetts? What's up?
- 6:06Speaker 9: Dan?
- 6:08Speaker 2: Hey?
- 6:08Speaker 10: Fred?
- 6:08Speaker 3: How you doing good?
- 6:11Speaker 8: In the middle of the season, you said that at
- 6:14Speaker 8: the past made it to the super Bowl, you would
- 6:16Speaker 8: buy Howe bar the prostitute.
- 6:19Speaker 3: I would buy him a what wom the night?
- 6:22Speaker 6: A lady, A lady.
- 6:24Speaker 3: I'm gating for that. Yeah, I'll do that. Absolutely.
- 6:27Speaker 4: He's right over there.
- 6:28Speaker 6: Can you experence that?
- 6:30Speaker 3: Where's Barth?
- 6:31Speaker 6: Is he here?
- 6:31Speaker 4: He's here?
- 6:32Speaker 3: Get him over here, get him. We'll get Barth over here.
- 6:38Speaker 8: You said you felt sorry for him because he lived
- 6:41Speaker 8: at home and you were gonna buy him a prostitute
- 6:43Speaker 8: when you got to San Francis.
- 6:44Speaker 2: I will absolutely do that, although you have to be
- 6:47Speaker 2: careful around this place because there's some really seedy people
- 6:50Speaker 2: walking around, so I don't want him to catch anything.
- 6:53Speaker 5: No, no, we want to get him a nice wholesome yeah,
- 6:55Speaker 5: a nice, a nice girl.
- 6:57Speaker 3: Yeah, so so we'll work on that.
- 6:59Speaker 8: You're so you're follering through on that?
- 7:02Speaker 2: If I have Yeah, if I have the opportunity, I
- 7:06Speaker 2: absolutely can.
- 7:06Speaker 4: Can Can she like college football? Can we find one
- 7:09Speaker 4: of those?
- 7:09Speaker 3: Is that? Oh?
- 7:10Speaker 6: Now you have to pay extra for that.
- 7:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll find out where he's staying and I'll just
- 7:14Speaker 3: have her show up.
- 7:17Speaker 6: Old strategy cotton.
- 7:19Speaker 2: She loves the because we had we had to sign
- 7:21Speaker 2: a non gambling thing in the NFL BACS. There's nothing
- 7:23Speaker 2: about prostitution that we had to sign, So I think
- 7:26Speaker 2: I think that's legal.
- 7:31Speaker 6: I did not have this on my bingo cards.
- 7:33Speaker 3: All right, well, thanks for reminding me. Dan, you're fading out.
- 7:37Speaker 2: All right, Let's go to uh Francisco in North Carolina.
- 7:41Speaker 3: What's the great Francisco? What's up? Hey?
- 7:45Speaker 8: What's going on?
- 7:46Speaker 11: Guy?
- 7:46Speaker 2: Hey?
- 7:49Speaker 12: Hey, I hope I'm having a good time out there. So,
- 7:51Speaker 12: I mean, hey, we got some snow down here. So,
- 7:53Speaker 12: you know, me and my brother we.
- 7:54Speaker 13: Started off the week right, we made.
- 7:57Speaker 14: A couple of snowman's with my nieces and nephews and
- 7:59Speaker 14: we dressed moll and Patriots gear.
- 8:01Speaker 12: But you know, with all this being said, though, I
- 8:03Speaker 12: just want to take.
- 8:04Speaker 14: My victory lap.
- 8:04Speaker 12: I don't know if it was I don't remember if
- 8:06Speaker 12: it was Christian from LA.
- 8:07Speaker 14: Or somebody else, but they were like, you know, oh,
- 8:10Speaker 14: the team's not good enough to make the super Bowl.
- 8:12Speaker 12: We should just lose to have a better draft pick.
- 8:14Speaker 15: And then I called in and was like, we cannot
- 8:16Speaker 15: make a playoff run without being in the playoffs. You
- 8:19Speaker 15: know now here we are right, so you know, it's
- 8:22Speaker 15: trying to take a minor victory tour.
- 8:25Speaker 12: And uh, I thought it was great last night. How
- 8:28Speaker 12: you know, I'm watching the interviews and you know, somebody
- 8:31Speaker 12: brought it up.
- 8:32Speaker 13: They're like, you know, everybody's.
- 8:33Speaker 14: Back in New England says they're gay for me and
- 8:36Speaker 14: he you know, the look on Drake's made his face
- 8:39Speaker 14: is priceless.
- 8:39Speaker 12: So, uh, I just want to call in one time.
- 8:42Speaker 8: You know, I'm wanna call.
- 8:43Speaker 12: In with pradition later in the weegue, but.
- 8:45Speaker 3: So have a good time.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Tell me about this snow that you guys had, because
- 8:49Speaker 2: I know you guys had bad weather. How is this
- 8:51Speaker 2: the first time that you've been down there that it's
- 8:53Speaker 2: snowed or does it do that often?
- 8:56Speaker 12: Uh, it ain't been like this and a while realistically.
- 9:01Speaker 15: So my girlfriend, she's a second grade teacher, and uh, i'mgoing.
- 9:05Speaker 12: Joke because I'm like, these kids have never.
- 9:07Speaker 14: Got to play in the snow or watch the Patriots
- 9:09Speaker 14: in the Super Bowl, but like this like the first time,
- 9:12Speaker 14: like and I would say probably about seven or eight
- 9:15Speaker 14: years that it's actually stuck.
- 9:17Speaker 16: And stayed for a couple of days to where like the.
- 9:19Speaker 15: Kids could go out and play like like, uh.
- 9:22Speaker 14: My girlfriend heard her platt like they didn't have school
- 9:25Speaker 14: yesterday or today and then the kids are out for
- 9:28Speaker 14: another day. So but you know, what about but a
- 9:31Speaker 14: foot of snow? But like, no, the amount of snowman
- 9:34Speaker 14: I've seen is crazy. You know, I worked for a
- 9:36Speaker 14: city driving around the city, I'm seeing plenty of Like
- 9:39Speaker 14: I was snow plowing today and the amount of a
- 9:41Speaker 14: snowman I saw was actually pretty pretty cool.
- 9:44Speaker 3: That's pretty wild.
- 9:45Speaker 2: All right, Well, thanks Francisco, and let us snow later
- 9:48Speaker 2: on the week if you have any uh you know,
- 9:50Speaker 2: good predictions. So all right, thanks thanks for calling. Let's
- 9:55Speaker 2: see Ross has a question for Paul. How Barth is
- 10:00Speaker 2: going to join when he gets here? Okay, where is
- 10:03Speaker 2: it he's on the team? Shuttle back here Okay, Ross
- 10:07Speaker 2: and Scotland has a question for Paul how much secondhand
- 10:10Speaker 2: embarrassment did he have for the person asking Drake May
- 10:13Speaker 2: who his hero is?
- 10:15Speaker 7: Oh, the Opening Night stuff is a little bit different.
- 10:19Speaker 7: If that was like a regular like press setting, then
- 10:23Speaker 7: that would be kind of on the edge. I mean,
- 10:25Speaker 7: that's not a terrible question. Well it made Brady cry, yeah.
- 10:28Speaker 6: But like that's what Opening Night is.
- 10:30Speaker 3: Ford.
- 10:30Speaker 6: There's a lot of like.
- 10:34Speaker 7: Children reporters, you know, Nickelodeon, will will sponsor some people
- 10:38Speaker 7: and they'll come in, they'll ask questions. There's like, uh,
- 10:41Speaker 7: all kinds of gimmicky kind of things. Guillermo from Jimmy
- 10:45Speaker 7: Kimmel was there last night, asking rather inappropriate questions to
- 10:48Speaker 7: the players.
- 10:49Speaker 4: But like that Sam Donald to put a.
- 10:52Speaker 6: What do you get him?
- 10:53Speaker 4: Like a ham ham for Sam or something like that.
- 10:55Speaker 5: I mean all I saw was Sam Donald with a
- 10:57Speaker 5: ham on his head, and I was like, I'm glad
- 10:58Speaker 5: that's not true.
- 10:59Speaker 7: That's part of the whole specticle of Opening Night. But
- 11:04Speaker 7: I mean, who your hero is, that's not that's not
- 11:06Speaker 7: that's a good question. That's not a terrible.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Question, absolutely not.
- 11:08Speaker 2: We just had Clint Bruce here and talking about you know,
- 11:11Speaker 2: people that you chase in terms of taking their best
- 11:14Speaker 2: qualities and making them part of you. And you know,
- 11:17Speaker 2: I think that's completely appropriate ed in Tallahassee writes in
- 11:22Speaker 2: who got more radio stations and podcasters at Radio Central,
- 11:25Speaker 2: New England or Seattle? By the way, advertising breaks are
- 11:30Speaker 2: coming in loud and clear. Okay, is there a question?
- 11:33Speaker 2: I don't know, so I know I went through the roster.
- 11:37Speaker 2: There are a few other teams besides us that have tables,
- 11:40Speaker 2: like the Saints I think are here and the Raiders.
- 11:43Speaker 2: But I don't think the Seahawks have a table.
- 11:45Speaker 3: I haven't seen a Seawks. I didn't see a Seahawks.
- 11:47Speaker 6: They talk radio station in Seattle.
- 11:50Speaker 17: Perhaps there must be, you know, like yeah, one oh
- 11:54Speaker 17: four point five, the boone, the boone, the kick, the
- 12:00Speaker 17: point after playbook that go for it on fourth down.
- 12:03Speaker 4: They're only source for altered music West.
- 12:10Speaker 18: Mike.
- 12:10Speaker 6: Mike has good radio. I love like you know the
- 12:13Speaker 6: one has like Elgar and mas No, I know, not
- 12:19Speaker 6: Zolac and the Beatle.
- 12:23Speaker 3: Jordan and Kentucky.
- 12:25Speaker 2: When the Patriots win on Sunday, you'll now be able
- 12:27Speaker 2: to wear a different Super Bowl T shirt every day
- 12:30Speaker 2: of the week. The Hall of Fame is about as
- 12:32Speaker 2: good as the Pro Bowl nowadays. Okay, so two things there. Yeah,
- 12:35Speaker 2: we'll have seven super Bowls when the Patriots win on Sunday.
- 12:39Speaker 6: Yeah, that'll be cool. We'll be able to change your
- 12:42Speaker 6: shirt every day you have it. Do you have one
- 12:43Speaker 6: from every Super Bowl?
- 12:44Speaker 2: Mike?
- 12:44Speaker 5: I'm sure you're not Mario one. And I'm saving up
- 12:47Speaker 5: to buy maybe a hat here this week, I am.
- 12:49Speaker 5: It's gonnaughts and prayers with that.
- 12:53Speaker 3: By the way.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Yeah, a lot of well, a lot of people complaining
- 12:57Speaker 2: about the merch so far, and from what I've seen,
- 13:00Speaker 2: I don't blame them really. Maybe stuff will come later
- 13:05Speaker 2: in the week. But what I like, they have a
- 13:07Speaker 2: little pro shops set up at the team hotel. I
- 13:09Speaker 2: got a heart attack on I checked the well, forget
- 13:12Speaker 2: about the price, like, it's just nothing like that cool.
- 13:15Speaker 18: Yeah.
- 13:15Speaker 5: No, I just was like, I would like to get
- 13:17Speaker 5: a Patriots super Bowl hat and it was just a
- 13:19Speaker 5: simple snap back with a Patriots logo and a super
- 13:22Speaker 5: Bowl patch and it was sixty bucks.
- 13:24Speaker 3: Yeah, that's ridiculous.
- 13:25Speaker 2: And usually, like the stuff that guys wear on Opening
- 13:28Speaker 2: Night whatever, they usually have those for sale.
- 13:30Speaker 3: I haven't seen that you.
- 13:32Speaker 4: Talking about that. That's like whatever. All the players love was.
- 13:34Speaker 7: That someone had said something last night. I forget who
- 13:39Speaker 7: that that was not for sale. That was something that
- 13:41Speaker 7: they get only if they get to the Super Bowl, right,
- 13:44Speaker 7: But the players.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Were really looking past years at least the last time
- 13:47Speaker 2: we were here, that was for sale. Yeah, those things
- 13:50Speaker 2: that I had that was the hot item.
- 13:51Speaker 7: You're right now, the players one was three hundred and
- 13:54Speaker 7: then the one that you could buy for yourself was
- 13:56Speaker 7: only two hundred, right, like a quarter zip. Now, as
- 14:00Speaker 7: you guys know, I love a quarters like I got
- 14:02Speaker 7: one on now ye, But now I'm not paying two
- 14:05Speaker 7: hundred bucks for quarters.
- 14:06Speaker 2: By the way, people are complaining Paul that you now
- 14:09Speaker 2: that you bring it up that where's your team gear?
- 14:12Speaker 7: You know, I don't generally I know your team gear
- 14:14Speaker 7: when we're doing People are upset about what are doing.
- 14:17Speaker 19: Media, Newflix on the heaters coming, people are upset. I
- 14:20Speaker 19: think people know who I work for. Patriots unfiltered right,
- 14:26Speaker 19: uh Mahene.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Writes it, What do you think about Tom Brady saying
- 14:30Speaker 2: he has no dog in the fight for who he
- 14:32Speaker 2: wants to see whin the Super Bowl?
- 14:33Speaker 6: That's just poor to me.
- 14:35Speaker 2: And only watched twelve to fifteen plays of Drake ever play.
- 14:38Speaker 2: But is this Tom being political and not taking a
- 14:42Speaker 2: stance or what.
- 14:42Speaker 18: Yeah.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Also Tom doubles down on saying Stafford is the MVP,
- 14:47Speaker 2: So yeah, Tom is, I.
- 14:49Speaker 6: Don't mind the Stafford part, but that like.
- 14:52Speaker 7: He like literally can't say that he's well guy, the
- 14:57Speaker 7: soft spot for the Patriots is rooting for the Patriots.
- 14:59Speaker 3: He is, he's an owner of another team, so so
- 15:03Speaker 3: I mean, I.
- 15:03Speaker 4: Just feel like he's like well as a broadcaster, I
- 15:05Speaker 4: probably shouldn't say.
- 15:06Speaker 6: If that was the answer, then I would have no
- 15:08Speaker 6: problem with it.
- 15:09Speaker 7: His answer was, I don't have a dog on the
- 15:10Speaker 7: fight and I don't really care basically, and I didn't
- 15:13Speaker 7: know the line about Drake May.
- 15:15Speaker 6: How does he how does he go the whole season
- 15:17Speaker 6: without seeing Drake May play at all?
- 15:19Speaker 4: I mean, there's a lot of highlights at a lot
- 15:21Speaker 4: of pros on the sports center.
- 15:23Speaker 2: So Carl from Germany, who sent in the side by
- 15:26Speaker 2: side most him and Zolac, he explains what Wish wash
- 15:30Speaker 2: because you know, it's the same thing what I ordered
- 15:32Speaker 2: on Wish.
- 15:32Speaker 3: He said.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Wish is actually a US based company in San Francisco,
- 15:37Speaker 2: goods from there have been notoriously counterfeited and are often
- 15:40Speaker 2: of lower quality than advertised.
- 15:43Speaker 6: So what you're saying is I didn't know what it was.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Yeah, deuce is a lower quality, so I think it
- 15:49Speaker 2: should be reversed, like honest, exactly.
- 15:51Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't make all those noises. You guys would
- 15:53Speaker 4: kill me.
- 15:58Speaker 2: Rachel writes in credit has to be given to Drake.
- 16:01Speaker 2: He's somewhat been thrown into the fire fast and the
- 16:03Speaker 2: second year face of the defenses he has in the playoffs,
- 16:06Speaker 2: even including the Ravens, which they've had a better defenses
- 16:10Speaker 2: in the past, but always get up to play the
- 16:11Speaker 2: Patriots on top of the pressure that comes, uh, all on,
- 16:16Speaker 2: it's on simply for playing for the organization, whatever that means.
- 16:19Speaker 2: There's a quiet, hard working confidence about him. This stat
- 16:23Speaker 2: last night says it all defenses. Apparently Tom didn't face
- 16:26Speaker 2: in one postseason and let's not forget Drake had the
- 16:30Speaker 2: cleanest game in the postseason against the best defenses he
- 16:33Speaker 2: has faced.
- 16:33Speaker 3: Okay, I don't know he didn't.
- 16:36Speaker 6: Yeah, clean games and he's turning.
- 16:39Speaker 3: The ball over. Yeah, he has faced the two defenses
- 16:42Speaker 3: and the weather.
- 16:43Speaker 7: There the three defenses they faced in the playoffs were
- 16:46Speaker 7: all outstanding, and I would say they all got the
- 16:49Speaker 7: better of the Patriots.
- 16:51Speaker 5: Yeah, is there any kind of like, I know, bebulous
- 16:54Speaker 5: to bring Dan Marino up went to the super Bowl
- 16:56Speaker 5: with the second year?
- 16:57Speaker 20: Is that said?
- 16:58Speaker 4: And then never never again? Because I'm trying to wonder if.
- 17:04Speaker 5: It's not correct for me to think like this is
- 17:07Speaker 5: great that Drake has gotten to a super Bowl. He's
- 17:09Speaker 5: getting all this experience. It's gonna serve him so well,
- 17:12Speaker 5: it'll set him up for more success like Dann Marino's
- 17:15Speaker 5: the famous example never made it back. Are there other
- 17:17Speaker 5: examples or other examples of somebody who, I mean, I
- 17:19Speaker 5: guess like a Patrick Mahomes like made it early in
- 17:21Speaker 5: his career, right in the.
- 17:22Speaker 7: First few years with his third year, and then Rogers
- 17:24Speaker 7: Aaron Rodgers like you know, and that never went back
- 17:27Speaker 7: a single time.
- 17:28Speaker 5: Because you say that, Paul, and I I feel like
- 17:31Speaker 5: I'm coming up with more examples of guys who went
- 17:33Speaker 5: once early in their career and for whatever reason.
- 17:35Speaker 4: And maybe that's what the real conversation is. Why why
- 17:39Speaker 4: you know?
- 17:40Speaker 6: Is it just luck of the draw?
- 17:41Speaker 4: And I mean, I know there the Jets haven't been
- 17:43Speaker 4: to a Super Bowl since the seventies, you know, like, I.
- 17:47Speaker 6: Think it could be.
- 17:48Speaker 7: I mean, it could be circumstantial, right, I mean you
- 17:50Speaker 7: can look at the you know, the landscape in the
- 17:52Speaker 7: AFC when Marino was was hot.
- 17:55Speaker 6: Now, so should he have gone more than once? Yeah? Probably?
- 17:59Speaker 7: I know they lost some home games in AFC championship
- 18:02Speaker 7: games that I'm sorry, you're at home in the AFC
- 18:04Speaker 7: championship game.
- 18:05Speaker 6: You should win and he didn't.
- 18:08Speaker 7: But then you know that that Buffalo team, you know,
- 18:10Speaker 7: sort of got good. You mean it, I think Cincinnati
- 18:13Speaker 7: was really good in the late eighties. Then Buffalo had
- 18:15Speaker 7: their run with four in a row. Now Marino's injured. Older,
- 18:19Speaker 7: you know, the windows closed, Fred, the window closes.
- 18:23Speaker 8: Right, you know.
- 18:25Speaker 6: Rogers Rogers three, And I know I've gotten a lot
- 18:28Speaker 6: of pushback on this.
- 18:29Speaker 2: I just don't.
- 18:29Speaker 7: I don't think Rogers is won enough. I think he's
- 18:32Speaker 7: one of the best quarterbacks who's ever played this game.
- 18:34Speaker 3: Yep.
- 18:35Speaker 6: And I don't think he's one enough.
- 18:37Speaker 7: You want to talk about home field, you know, punch outs,
- 18:41Speaker 7: you know, everybody, everybody's happy to tell you all about
- 18:43Speaker 7: Peyton Manning when he wasn't when he was one and done, right,
- 18:46Speaker 7: he had a bunch of one and done's Peyton manning
- 18:49Speaker 7: with those Colts teams. People don't talk about the Rogers
- 18:53Speaker 7: losses at at lambeau Field anywhere near as much. Fifteen
- 18:57Speaker 7: to one. Team lost that home to the Giants. One
- 19:00Speaker 7: of the years the Giants ended up knocking the Patriots
- 19:02Speaker 7: out of the in the Super Bowl.
- 19:03Speaker 3: Is that that was the cold game? Real cold game?
- 19:06Speaker 6: I think it was the second one. I'm not positive, Okay,
- 19:09Speaker 6: I think it was eleven. They had won.
- 19:11Speaker 7: I think the Packers one in ten twenty ten, and
- 19:14Speaker 7: they were better in eleven. I think I want to
- 19:16Speaker 7: say they went fourteen to two or fifteen to one,
- 19:18Speaker 7: something like that, and they lost in the division around
- 19:21Speaker 7: at home to the Giants.
- 19:22Speaker 6: Then the Giants beat the Niners.
- 19:24Speaker 3: I think. Is that Frank Kelly in the just walk by? Uh,
- 19:27Speaker 3: look looks like.
- 19:28Speaker 6: A Mike might know. Mike's a Hollywood guy.
- 19:30Speaker 3: You love to get him on?
- 19:31Speaker 4: Yes, that is him, right, do a little Belichick.
- 19:34Speaker 6: I guess he's going to be too big, Frank Kelly, Yeah, Freddy,
- 19:40Speaker 6: get on him. We just let him go by himself
- 19:43Speaker 6: and he can just imitate all of us, you know,
- 19:45Speaker 6: Just do it.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Rob Robin, New Mexico. Uh, good to see you guys
- 19:49Speaker 2: hanging out in California. Been wanting to write in for
- 19:51Speaker 2: some time about more episodes of Forge and Foxborough and
- 19:56Speaker 2: the thought now would be perfect. Did you guys have
- 19:58Speaker 2: four hours to chop it up? I haven't heard a
- 20:00Speaker 2: word since episode three and he plans about releasing more episodes,
- 20:04Speaker 2: teasers or anything.
- 20:05Speaker 3: Well, I can tell you this, win or lose.
- 20:08Speaker 2: If you're a fan of Forge and Foxborough, you're gonna
- 20:10Speaker 2: be very happy with what we're gonna come out with
- 20:12Speaker 2: after the season.
- 20:13Speaker 3: So episode four will be forthcoming.
- 20:17Speaker 2: It'll be a little while because you know, we're gonna
- 20:18Speaker 2: get things uh included from this playoff runt, But there
- 20:22Speaker 2: will be an episode four of Forging Foxborough and we're
- 20:25Speaker 2: gonna continue that. We'll have a new season next year.
- 20:29Speaker 2: So or next season, I should say, so. Uh more
- 20:33Speaker 2: more coming on Forge and Foxborough.
- 20:36Speaker 4: It's exciting. Yeah, behind the scenes it is.
- 20:39Speaker 3: Oh We've we've got some good stuff. Yeah, yeah, good stuff.
- 20:42Speaker 3: I can't wait.
- 20:43Speaker 4: I get so jealous.
- 20:44Speaker 5: I'm going to hear like the meetings that you guys
- 20:46Speaker 5: are in and taping, and what I wouldn't give to
- 20:49Speaker 5: be the fly on the wall to hear what they're
- 20:51Speaker 5: really talking about. But if you hang on, I need
- 20:55Speaker 5: the b roll, Fred, I need I need the stuff
- 20:56Speaker 5: that ends on the cutting, this stuff that they.
- 20:58Speaker 6: Can't tell you.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Well, hang on, you're gonna You're gonna see it. So
- 21:01Speaker 2: there will be an episode four of Forge and Foxborough.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Let's see. Scott wants to know. And this is a
- 21:08Speaker 2: very important question. If the Patriots win the super Bowl,
- 21:11Speaker 2: will Paul end his hunger strike? But yeah, he's just
- 21:15Speaker 2: getting smaller by the day. We just had a huge
- 21:17Speaker 2: breakfast we did. How much has the travel budget diminished
- 21:22Speaker 2: as Paul stopped eating? Oh that's terrible, that's just poored.
- 21:26Speaker 3: But it's funny.
- 21:27Speaker 4: We went to In and Out yesterday and.
- 21:28Speaker 7: I will say, you know, I mean, I've had fun
- 21:32Speaker 7: with you guys, like teasing me about this stuff, you know,
- 21:34Speaker 7: the listeners. There was a picture shown of Germany when
- 21:40Speaker 7: we were in Germany doing the show, and I looked
- 21:42Speaker 7: at myself and I was like, Wow, what a disgusting
- 21:45Speaker 7: slob I became. I didn't realize, like when you're in it,
- 21:48Speaker 7: you don't realize how big you are. I know, So yeah,
- 21:51Speaker 7: I'm much much happier to be this sleeping better. I
- 21:55Speaker 7: do sleep better generally. I just I just worry about
- 21:58Speaker 7: a whole now. It's just regular stress. It's not snoring
- 22:00Speaker 7: keeping me up.
- 22:01Speaker 2: The way you started that off, though, Paul, you were like,
- 22:03Speaker 2: you know, I know you guys make fun and everything,
- 22:06Speaker 2: but I do have cancer.
- 22:07Speaker 3: I thought you were going to say something like that.
- 22:10Speaker 6: Do you think I would let everybody know that I
- 22:12Speaker 6: was dealing with something like that and the Super Bowl?
- 22:15Speaker 3: I don't know, but the way you started off, I
- 22:17Speaker 3: know you guys make fun of me, but I.
- 22:18Speaker 4: Wasn't planning on telling everyone this.
- 22:20Speaker 6: But this is the guy had the funny joke about
- 22:23Speaker 6: the you know, the budget.
- 22:25Speaker 3: You know it was a good joke.
- 22:26Speaker 6: That was a good joke, because good jokes. He's got
- 22:28Speaker 6: the jokes.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Christos from Greece.
- 22:31Speaker 2: I have one point to make in one proposition, the
- 22:34Speaker 2: point the snowfall was expected, so no one can get
- 22:37Speaker 2: it out of my mind that the white on white
- 22:40Speaker 2: wasn't intentional.
- 22:41Speaker 3: Uh So the uniforms that they wanted Denver Chess war in.
- 22:45Speaker 7: Denver, why would you do that that that was a
- 22:47Speaker 7: detriment and you can't see your kind heart. I think
- 22:50Speaker 7: it hurt the patrons. Yeah, and I don't think it
- 22:52Speaker 7: was intentional.
- 22:53Speaker 2: The proposition invite Kyle van Noy to Santa Clara. He
- 22:56Speaker 2: will probably remind little Sam something about ghosts and boogeymen.
- 23:01Speaker 5: Huh yeah, I mean, you know, kidding aside, I do again,
- 23:06Speaker 5: I think that that that that's something that they got
- 23:08Speaker 5: to do. I think Zach Kor's got to spin the dial.
- 23:11Speaker 5: I think he's been really good at that this year,
- 23:13Speaker 5: disguising what they're doing. And see a lot of similarities
- 23:15Speaker 5: between this Patriots defense and the Seattle defense and right
- 23:18Speaker 5: and how they play. But you know, that's just that
- 23:21Speaker 5: that's the key to the game. Turn Donald into a pumpkin.
- 23:24Speaker 5: If you can do that, I think you got a
- 23:25Speaker 5: real chance.
- 23:26Speaker 6: Can they do that?
- 23:27Speaker 4: I think they can. I think they can.
- 23:28Speaker 5: But I think also that I'm expecting Sam Donald to
- 23:30Speaker 5: play really well, and even if he has a couple
- 23:33Speaker 5: bad plays that I'll expect him to get back. But
- 23:36Speaker 5: you still see it throughout the season him him struggling
- 23:39Speaker 5: making dumb throws and you know that same seeing ghosts
- 23:42Speaker 5: kind of a guy, And how do you get him
- 23:44Speaker 5: to that place? It'd be a great question for Samak
- 23:46Speaker 5: And the.
- 23:47Speaker 3: Key is if he does make those mistakes, you got
- 23:49Speaker 3: to take advantage of it. Yeah, you got to take
- 23:51Speaker 3: advantage of those opportunities. You can't like take over the
- 23:54Speaker 3: ball and then punt it.
- 23:55Speaker 4: Right back, especially early.
- 23:56Speaker 5: Yes, I mean I don't know how, Like what do
- 23:58Speaker 5: you guys remember about other super Bowl and going in
- 24:01Speaker 5: and the feeling of, you know, usually you were the favorites, right,
- 24:03Speaker 5: I mean.
- 24:04Speaker 7: In the favorites every time. This is the first time
- 24:06Speaker 7: that underdog since the first well.
- 24:08Speaker 5: One one got the first one on one, And I
- 24:11Speaker 5: joined the sentiment that a lot of people have said that,
- 24:13Speaker 5: like it's refreshing to be the underdog, to not feel
- 24:15Speaker 5: that pressure of like Brady loses this one, you're gonna
- 24:19Speaker 5: be five and before you know whatever, four and four
- 24:21Speaker 5: in Super Bowl, you know, like and like, we only
- 24:24Speaker 5: have this much time.
- 24:24Speaker 4: Left with this guy.
- 24:25Speaker 2: And so this is a perfect example of rooting through fear.
- 24:31Speaker 2: You root through fear, you do you want to be
- 24:35Speaker 2: the underdog, so like if you lose, it's like, well,
- 24:37Speaker 2: there's no pressure for the underdog.
- 24:38Speaker 6: I don't want the pressure. I want to do I
- 24:41Speaker 6: want to be the team.
- 24:42Speaker 4: But don't you go to you guys.
- 24:43Speaker 5: Haven't you, guys, ever been on a team or played
- 24:45Speaker 5: a game where you felt like no one believed in
- 24:48Speaker 5: you and you just felt like you could play free
- 24:49Speaker 5: and go play fast.
- 24:51Speaker 21: I have.
- 24:51Speaker 6: I have been on a team like that, you know what.
- 24:53Speaker 7: I have also been on teams that the other team
- 24:55Speaker 7: knew that if we played the way we could play,
- 24:58Speaker 7: they couldn't beat us.
- 24:59Speaker 6: And I liked that feeling better. But it was about us.
- 25:03Speaker 4: But it's game. But is that this game?
- 25:05Speaker 22: No?
- 25:05Speaker 3: I don't.
- 25:07Speaker 2: I mean, honestly, you know, we're the underdog in this game,
- 25:10Speaker 2: but I, like I said, I want to go out
- 25:12Speaker 2: and blow people out, want to be that team.
- 25:14Speaker 6: I look at this game has been pretty even.
- 25:16Speaker 7: I think that I think the Seahawks are favored, and
- 25:18Speaker 7: I think they probably deserve to be.
- 25:20Speaker 6: But I don't look at this as like the Patriots, Noah,
- 25:24Speaker 6: like no one. I don't look at it like that.
- 25:26Speaker 23: No.
- 25:26Speaker 4: And that's and that's why it's almost like this is
- 25:28Speaker 4: like the kind of the Rodney Harrison version of it.
- 25:30Speaker 4: And I think most Patriots fans would.
- 25:32Speaker 5: Agree that if you're really if you really think that
- 25:34Speaker 5: that's how this game is going to go, I don't
- 25:36Speaker 5: think you really have watched this Patriots team.
- 25:38Speaker 4: The whole year and that they're hard.
- 25:40Speaker 5: They've i mean, the one game they've lost since Week three,
- 25:43Speaker 5: they had like a seventeen point lead. You know, that
- 25:46Speaker 5: was the one game they lost twenty one point lead.
- 25:49Speaker 5: So you know they're a good team. It's just I
- 25:51Speaker 5: really struggle to see this team just getting blown off
- 25:53Speaker 5: the field.
- 25:54Speaker 4: And I I mean, if it crazy, things happen in
- 25:56Speaker 4: super Bowls, we know that, but most of them are close.
- 25:59Speaker 6: I do not envision a blowout. I don't.
- 26:01Speaker 7: I mean, it could happen, anything could happen, but I
- 26:03Speaker 7: don't envision a blowout either way.
- 26:05Speaker 3: Yeah, it's there's.
- 26:08Speaker 2: A couple of ways blowouts could happen either side, but
- 26:10Speaker 2: it's unlikely.
- 26:11Speaker 6: But Mike, you like, and I do. I love to
- 26:14Speaker 6: tease you and you know that, and it's it's very
- 26:16Speaker 6: very good.
- 26:16Speaker 4: My feelings really hurt.
- 26:17Speaker 7: And but like, like as a Patriot fan, I don't
- 26:22Speaker 7: even know the numbers, Like this is obnoxious. This is
- 26:24Speaker 7: that twelve super Bowl?
- 26:25Speaker 24: Right?
- 26:26Speaker 7: So that would make us what Yeah, that's right, I
- 26:28Speaker 7: said us if we lost twelve, six and six, Yeah,
- 26:34Speaker 7: you'd be six and six. Oh, the horror yeah, No,
- 26:36Speaker 7: I don't really care about six and six Super Bowls,
- 26:38Speaker 7: Like I'd take that any day of the week. Like,
- 26:41Speaker 7: I mean, obviously you want to win, but look at
- 26:45Speaker 7: all the teams that can't get here, right yeah, And
- 26:48Speaker 7: like you're here so many times that you're like you
- 26:50Speaker 7: almost don't want the pressure of if we lose, they'll
- 26:52Speaker 7: say that we're six and six and Super Bowls, like
- 26:55Speaker 7: the Browns would like give a kidney to be here.
- 26:58Speaker 5: Oh no, And I hope you guys didn't take it,
- 27:00Speaker 5: Like that's my feeling now, Like I just like, you know,
- 27:02Speaker 5: when it was the Braedy and like you're just everyone
- 27:04Speaker 5: hates you, You're the favorites.
- 27:06Speaker 6: Oh god, still them, Like.
- 27:07Speaker 5: That feeling got old And this is to me refreshing
- 27:11Speaker 5: to kind of be like the team that's the upstart
- 27:13Speaker 5: plunky again.
- 27:14Speaker 7: I told you one way do you can avoid falling
- 27:16Speaker 7: into that trap again. But no one wants to listen
- 27:18Speaker 7: to me. Stop hounding and harassing everybody in the country
- 27:22Speaker 7: who dares to say the other team has a pulse.
- 27:27Speaker 2: But sometimes when they say that, it's to take away
- 27:31Speaker 2: from you. And we're very sensitive. We're very sensitive.
- 27:35Speaker 6: Never changed.
- 27:37Speaker 2: Hatred's fans are very sensitive, and I understand the sensitivity.
- 27:40Speaker 2: I understand where very very hurt. You know, nobody wants
- 27:44Speaker 2: to give us our credit.
- 27:46Speaker 4: Yeah, I've heard that if you win this game, you're honored.
- 27:52Speaker 6: Who's on your family?
- 27:55Speaker 4: I had to get one out. I mean, we drove
- 27:57Speaker 4: through Sam Matteo today, you know we did.
- 28:01Speaker 6: We were in San Mateo. You might have to stop
- 28:03Speaker 6: by Sarah. Yeah right, get some.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Dirt Jake from Bendingo. Australia rights in two things. I
- 28:10Speaker 2: need to shout out to the official Australia New England
- 28:12Speaker 2: Patriots fan Club.
- 28:13Speaker 3: The people in the group are absolute legends.
- 28:16Speaker 2: Okay, shout out tell us why and to what sort
- 28:19Speaker 2: of donuts are going to be the celeburn Tory donut
- 28:22Speaker 2: if we win?
- 28:23Speaker 3: Oh well, I don't know.
- 28:25Speaker 4: I had a chuck with Duncan. Yeah, little footballs, not
- 28:28Speaker 4: Boston cream.
- 28:29Speaker 3: I don't look.
- 28:30Speaker 4: How about just the seven? How about a crane field seven?
- 28:32Speaker 3: Is that good for you?
- 28:33Speaker 4: Creamfield chocolate on top.
- 28:34Speaker 6: Seven and five?
- 28:38Speaker 4: It's good. It's winning record, winning record.
- 28:40Speaker 6: It is a big difference seven five.
- 28:42Speaker 5: It is ridiculous though, I mean, and I forget what
- 28:44Speaker 5: the percentages. I mean, it's in the low twenties. That
- 28:47Speaker 5: that's how many of the Super Bowls that the fricking
- 28:49Speaker 5: Patriots have been in. Like, I mean, we talk about
- 28:52Speaker 5: all the time, like the Jets are in your fifty
- 28:54Speaker 5: three of a rebuild, you know, like why did the
- 28:58Speaker 5: Patriots have?
- 28:59Speaker 4: Yeah, the Patriots of twenty sometimes just don't don't lucky
- 29:04Speaker 4: us because.
- 29:05Speaker 2: Around where we're sitting, they have all the Super Bowl banners.
- 29:09Speaker 2: So there's a different banner for every Super Bowl. And
- 29:12Speaker 2: I'm looking at it the other day and I'm like, oh,
- 29:13Speaker 2: we were in that one. We were in that one,
- 29:15Speaker 2: We were in that one, right, you know, it's pretty wild.
- 29:18Speaker 2: It's pretty wild. Let's see, Uh who is this? Who
- 29:24Speaker 2: was writing in it? Is Mike and Winchester by Virginia
- 29:27Speaker 2: by ways of Super Bowl New Jersey. All right, thanks
- 29:30Speaker 2: for all the coverage. Blah blah blah. I have a
- 29:33Speaker 2: bone to pick with the last night's Opening night coverage.
- 29:36Speaker 2: Super Bowls in the past that I remember would feature
- 29:38Speaker 2: NFL Network covering Opening Night with multiple cameras moving between
- 29:42Speaker 2: each player. You guys at Patriots dot Com had a
- 29:45Speaker 2: similar setup where you could filter between each player's podium.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Last night, NFL Network had a talk show and very
- 29:52Speaker 2: few clips of the players all night. You guys just
- 29:54Speaker 2: had Verabel feet. I'm assuming that the coverage was behind
- 29:58Speaker 2: NFL plus paywall, if which is true, it was very
- 30:00Speaker 2: poor to me. Now, we we didn't do that this year,
- 30:03Speaker 2: like you know, where you could pick like the different
- 30:07Speaker 2: podiums and all that stuff. I mean, I was just
- 30:10Speaker 2: an editorial decision, like you kind of get all that
- 30:14Speaker 2: and it's like the same thing over and over again.
- 30:16Speaker 2: So we figured we'd use our manpower to do other stuff,
- 30:21Speaker 2: you know, more of the personality based stuff and you know,
- 30:25Speaker 2: one off, short, short, TikTok type of stuff.
- 30:28Speaker 5: I mean, it was it's an hour. I mean, and
- 30:31Speaker 5: usually we have media availability and it's like ten minutes.
- 30:33Speaker 5: I mean maybe you're in a scrum in the locker
- 30:35Speaker 5: room for like five minutes. This is an hour straight
- 30:39Speaker 5: of sitting there and you're getting questions from the most
- 30:41Speaker 5: random cross section of media you can ever imagine. And
- 30:44Speaker 5: I mean, I don't you know, if people want to
- 30:46Speaker 5: watch it, great, but having hung out at a couple
- 30:48Speaker 5: of them last night, it's tedious.
- 30:50Speaker 4: It's not all that interesting. There's a lot of stupid questions.
- 30:52Speaker 5: You know, you're not getting all that much insight into
- 30:55Speaker 5: like Drake may and how the game plan is going
- 30:57Speaker 5: to go and all the you know, it's one of
- 30:59Speaker 5: the guys from Bust.
- 31:00Speaker 4: Some of the boys was asking Drake yesterday, like, what
- 31:02Speaker 4: was your most.
- 31:03Speaker 11: The one bag miss thing you do you like the
- 31:05Speaker 11: least Drake like, you're gonna get me in trouble. I mean,
- 31:08Speaker 11: that's the stuff you're missing out on. So I mean
- 31:10Speaker 11: it's you know, it's fun stuff. It's but it's not
- 31:12Speaker 11: a lot of football.
- 31:13Speaker 2: Finally, quick little game two minutes left on Sunday with
- 31:16Speaker 2: the score twenty one to seventeen. I know you have
- 31:19Speaker 2: to see how the game was flowing, but I'm in
- 31:23Speaker 2: would you rather be up for with the d on
- 31:25Speaker 2: the field as Seattle starts to drive from their forty
- 31:27Speaker 2: ish or down for with the offense on the field
- 31:30Speaker 2: starting to drive from the forty?
- 31:32Speaker 6: How much time two minutes left I'd rather be down for?
- 31:36Speaker 3: And how many timeouts do you have?
- 31:37Speaker 6: Don't care. It's also two minutes left from the forty
- 31:39Speaker 6: I can go sixty yards with no timeouts.
- 31:41Speaker 3: Oh you got to score a touchdown?
- 31:43Speaker 6: In general, and it's a great question. I think it's great.
- 31:46Speaker 6: It's a great debate.
- 31:47Speaker 7: And actually, and I'm not like passionately for I just
- 31:52Speaker 7: in general, I'd rather have the ball than have to
- 31:54Speaker 7: hope that the other team doesn't score.
- 31:56Speaker 6: I would although the Patriots had been outstanding, and that's.
- 31:59Speaker 4: That's why I was going, Yeah, I was just gonna
- 32:01Speaker 4: take the other side of it. I agree with with
- 32:03Speaker 4: how Paul laid it out.
- 32:04Speaker 5: I have some confidence in this defense, and it's always
- 32:07Speaker 5: scary because it's one game and you don't know.
- 32:09Speaker 4: I mean, they've done it a number of times, they've
- 32:11Speaker 4: closed games out and they've been able to be good
- 32:13Speaker 4: in the fourth quarter. But at the same time, it's scary.
- 32:17Speaker 4: It's scary.
- 32:17Speaker 7: I don't feel better when the other team, Uh, you know,
- 32:21Speaker 7: it's like it's hard, Like I feel better when when
- 32:24Speaker 7: I'm on offense, and I feel like I feel like
- 32:27Speaker 7: when you're on offense, you're controlling it. Yeah, And I
- 32:29Speaker 7: know that's probably not the right way to look at it.
- 32:31Speaker 7: The defense can come up with a stop, but I
- 32:34Speaker 7: don't know. I think those like the Giants games, Giants
- 32:39Speaker 7: had the ball and they went down and scored.
- 32:41Speaker 6: You know, it's like I felt powerless.
- 32:43Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, time for break when we come back.
- 32:48Speaker 2: We'll have more of calls, We'll have more emails. We'll

- 38:18Speaker 16: at the game that Monday night, came at MetLife when
- 38:20Speaker 16: Donald the steam goes and it's just crazy to me
- 38:24Speaker 16: how he's in the super Bowl now. But other than that,
- 38:27Speaker 16: I was just wondering. I'm not trying to get ahead
- 38:30Speaker 16: of myself here, of course, because.
- 38:31Speaker 36: We still have the Super Bowl to win.
- 38:32Speaker 16: But for the off season, do you guys take like

- 39:06Speaker 3: All right, thanks Brandon, appreciate it. Brandon from New Hampshire
- 39:10Speaker 3: weighing in, Yeah, we brody and King.
- 39:13Speaker 2: Nothing stops Christ in New Hampshire says the more time passes,
- 39:17Speaker 2: the stranger and more annoying Brady has gotten.
- 39:20Speaker 3: I'm talking as there's some truth to that. I'm talking.
- 39:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm talking as a jilted fan and I know that,
- 39:27Speaker 2: but I don't care. It's like he's embarrassed to have
- 39:29Speaker 2: been part of the organization. At least Julian and Gronk
- 39:32Speaker 2: are still enjoyable. Yeah, there's a lot of.
- 39:35Speaker 7: Truth to that email all around, like, because that's two examples.
- 39:38Speaker 6: Those guys embrace. I mean, they consider themselves Patriots.
- 39:42Speaker 5: We saw their their whole gang there last night, and
- 39:45Speaker 5: they all Patriots stuff on there, like games with names.
- 39:48Speaker 4: They're like podcast crew. They're all wearing Patriots.
- 39:50Speaker 6: Oh I didn't see I didn't see Jules and no.
- 39:53Speaker 4: Jewels and Gronk. But it's all like they're like the
- 39:55Speaker 4: other guys that are on the podcast with the list.
- 39:58Speaker 3: I've said it before.
- 39:58Speaker 2: I I you know, I will forever be indebted to
- 40:02Speaker 2: Tom and be grateful for what he did and all
- 40:05Speaker 2: that stuff. But he's making it awful easy for Patriots
- 40:09Speaker 2: fans to move on and listen, he's part owner.
- 40:12Speaker 6: He's moved on.
- 40:12Speaker 3: He's part owner of another team. So I mean, you know,
- 40:16Speaker 3: oh my goodness.
- 40:19Speaker 2: All right, Wow, Okay, So I told you we'd have
- 40:25Speaker 2: some great guests and uh, I hope I'm not letting
- 40:28Speaker 2: anyone down here.
- 40:30Speaker 3: Frank, you let me. I wanted to do that.
- 40:33Speaker 2: Paul Parrello, Mike do So we're with the Patriots. Yeah,
- 40:37Speaker 2: and uh, Frank Caliendo, everybody.
- 40:41Speaker 3: Are we live right now? We are Live.
- 40:43Speaker 37: I actually performed for the Patriots. I did a show.
- 40:46Speaker 37: It was me opening up for Elton John in Houston. Uh,
- 40:51Speaker 37: pretty surreal.
- 40:53Speaker 3: Roberts Party, right, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
- 40:56Speaker 6: So I was not.
- 41:00Speaker 3: I wasn't. I was didn't make it in I couldn't
- 41:03Speaker 3: make it.
- 41:03Speaker 6: I had, I had, I had opportunity.
- 41:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:06Speaker 2: So you look better than i've You've been around alone,
- 41:10Speaker 2: not as fad as I used to say, the truth
- 41:12Speaker 2: like you did it the beginning.
- 41:13Speaker 6: You honestly you lost.
- 41:15Speaker 3: You can be rude.
- 41:16Speaker 6: I'm a Midwestern.
- 41:17Speaker 3: You look great.
- 41:19Speaker 6: Hell said I had an accident. I'm a Midwestern. What
- 41:22Speaker 6: was that right there?
- 41:24Speaker 37: No, I I've lost a bunch of weight, still have
- 41:26Speaker 37: the fat face, but I'm working on again.
- 41:28Speaker 3: There's only so much you can do. Don't you think
- 41:30Speaker 3: he looks like military? You do a little bit. Yeah,
- 41:33Speaker 3: you look.
- 41:33Speaker 6: Well, that's not bad.
- 41:34Speaker 3: That's the that's a buff jack Jack.
- 41:37Speaker 37: You know what I remember with the Venetieri was when
- 41:40Speaker 37: the first Madden came out.
- 41:42Speaker 6: I think summer I.
- 41:43Speaker 37: Would go Venetiery back to kick and that's one of
- 41:46Speaker 37: those things that.
- 41:46Speaker 6: I always remember growing up.
- 41:49Speaker 37: But yeah, looking forward to this, Uh, this is something
- 41:52Speaker 37: else you guys got to be excited to be back
- 41:55Speaker 37: in the fray against.
- 41:58Speaker 3: Three years, four years.
- 41:59Speaker 6: I's been seven, all right. That used to be one
- 42:02Speaker 6: of my jokes. You go to you go to Chicago
- 42:04Speaker 6: in like eighty five.
- 42:05Speaker 3: We made it.
- 42:07Speaker 37: In the Super Bowl, Walter Payton, fantastic, right, and and
- 42:11Speaker 37: then you go to Boston area, you know, you know,
- 42:13Speaker 37: to England. We haven't been a super Bowl in two years.
- 42:16Speaker 3: My kids six, and he's never seen the super Bowl.
- 42:18Speaker 4: Super Bowl.
- 42:20Speaker 3: All right. So Bill Belichick got snubbed for the.
- 42:24Speaker 37: Yeah, I think that stuffs all garbage. To be honest,
- 42:26Speaker 37: I wish he and Robert Kraft, both of them.
- 42:29Speaker 3: I'll tell you what mes should go grew none. It
- 42:31Speaker 3: doesn't get any better than Bill Belichick. I don't care
- 42:34Speaker 3: if he didn't like talking to the media. None of
- 42:36Speaker 3: us like talking to the media. Man.
- 42:38Speaker 6: That's what it's all about.
- 42:39Speaker 3: You got to be a coach.
- 42:40Speaker 37: You want to they come and talk to you in
- 42:43Speaker 37: the middle of the game and say, what are you
- 42:45Speaker 37: gonna do different in the second half.
- 42:47Speaker 6: Bill Belichick's not giving that up.
- 42:50Speaker 3: I wonder what Bill would have said when he found
- 42:52Speaker 3: out he got Snubb though, Yeah, whatever, that's the most emotional.
- 42:59Speaker 3: You can see it all right.
- 43:00Speaker 37: I think that's uh, and that's that's just not talking
- 43:04Speaker 37: just because you're on Patriots dot com here. I think
- 43:06Speaker 37: that's it's still it's such a big part of history
- 43:09Speaker 37: and whatever reasons you could come up with doesn't matter.
- 43:13Speaker 6: I always talked to Grudon about back in the day.
- 43:16Speaker 37: He was even talking about how his dad would coach
- 43:18Speaker 37: at Notre Dame and how they would change they wouldn't
- 43:21Speaker 37: mow the lawn as much when usc would come.
- 43:25Speaker 6: As gamesmanship, man, that's.
- 43:26Speaker 3: What that's me. That's like you play it.
- 43:28Speaker 6: You play in a non dome stadium. There's a reason
- 43:31Speaker 6: for that.
- 43:32Speaker 37: You got a quarter I almost went you got a
- 43:34Speaker 37: quarter quarterback with bigger hands. At the end of the day,
- 43:37Speaker 37: you play it the cold weather type of situation. You
- 43:41Speaker 37: gotta have a hand in size about ten. I think
- 43:43Speaker 37: you can't him a nine point two nine point two
- 43:45Speaker 37: five is not gonna cut.
- 43:47Speaker 3: It in the snow zone.
- 43:49Speaker 6: You might as well play, you know, in Los Angeles
- 43:52Speaker 6: or something like that. Would make sure. I disagree with that.
- 43:55Speaker 37: Who cares what topics? Bel would always frank, you know,
- 44:00Speaker 37: you do me over and over. How's your top mcshake
- 44:03Speaker 37: come along. I'm like, he's normal. There's not that much
- 44:05Speaker 37: to do, right, So I love you.
- 44:07Speaker 4: I love your impressions.
- 44:07Speaker 5: There's a video that's always stuck with me, though, when
- 44:09Speaker 5: you talk about it, and you talked about Morgan Freeman
- 44:11Speaker 5: and finding the oh yes, and I've been working on that.
- 44:15Speaker 3: I can't get it.
- 44:15Speaker 37: When you went yes. First of all, you're going off,
- 44:18Speaker 37: so you got to start close. If you put the
- 44:20Speaker 37: mic really close to going quieter, yeah, it's already better.
- 44:26Speaker 4: You have to play with it. The most magical one
- 44:30Speaker 4: there's about the Morgan freaking.
- 44:31Speaker 6: Post because it's such a deep, raspy voice.
- 44:33Speaker 37: That's cool and the way you think of him from
- 44:36Speaker 37: Shawshank production, because if you listen to him now, he's
- 44:38Speaker 37: much older and he's got that voice up here.
- 44:41Speaker 6: So it's a it's a different thing.
- 44:43Speaker 37: I talk about that and this is not a political thing,
- 44:45Speaker 37: but you talk about you see the Trump impression most
- 44:48Speaker 37: people are doing.
- 44:48Speaker 6: It's a ten year old not ten not ten years old.
- 44:51Speaker 37: Trump tremendous, but it's a it's Trump over the top,
- 44:56Speaker 37: you know, the yelling Trump when he's.
- 44:58Speaker 4: Very quick it riberry Trump, alright, right right right, And.
- 45:01Speaker 37: Then to balance it out, folks, Joe Biden, come on,
- 45:04Speaker 37: regard thing. I don't have to tell you, right, so,
- 45:07Speaker 37: uh but yeah, there's different versions of people. As they
- 45:10Speaker 37: get older, they change too. It's everybody doesn't sound the same.
- 45:14Speaker 6: Now. When I first started started doing John Madden, it
- 45:16Speaker 6: was a John Madden way up here, hate folks, giant
- 45:18Speaker 6: and then it became the actual John Madden.
- 45:21Speaker 37: You hear, right, And now it's Nicholas carry right, right, Yeah,
- 45:25Speaker 37: of course boom here.
- 45:27Speaker 3: We are, right.
- 45:29Speaker 2: So there's two guys that you're gonna have to start
- 45:31Speaker 2: working on. I hope is Rabel in May Yeah, I
- 45:34Speaker 2: don't know. Yeah, if you thought about.
- 45:36Speaker 6: That Rabel, I actually did something for him during COVID
- 45:39Speaker 6: with the Titans.
- 45:40Speaker 38: Uh.
- 45:40Speaker 6: I'll tell you this.
- 45:42Speaker 37: Vrabel is awesome. Man, I'm sure you see that already.
- 45:44Speaker 37: But he's got that he's he's got that U gravitas.
- 45:49Speaker 37: But also he seems like a little bit of an
- 45:51Speaker 37: everyman like he's got that.
- 45:52Speaker 3: Oh he's a smart ass, he's a wise he's a
- 45:54Speaker 3: professional y.
- 45:56Speaker 6: Yeah, but he's but he's he's a regular guy.
- 45:59Speaker 3: I mean, you don't feel like he's on a pedestal.
- 46:01Speaker 37: Right, And even if he even if it's a little bit,
- 46:03Speaker 37: it's like a pedestal, you can. You know, he he
- 46:06Speaker 37: wants you to come at him so he can one
- 46:08Speaker 37: up you. Always a little bit of that. Yeah, but
- 46:10Speaker 37: he's great. I I he's one of the people that
- 46:12Speaker 37: I was around, or even I'm trying to think if
- 46:15Speaker 37: I've even been around it might even have gotten this
- 46:17Speaker 37: over zoom maybe talking to him on the phone. But
- 46:19Speaker 37: it said, you could just feel that he's just you
- 46:22Speaker 37: just want to do stuff for him. And that's how
- 46:24Speaker 37: a coach gets players to do. And it's at the
- 46:27Speaker 37: high school that's work.
- 46:27Speaker 6: How do all the people react when you when you
- 46:31Speaker 6: Madden didn't like me for the longest time.
- 46:33Speaker 37: I know, I kind of I finally made his grandkids
- 46:35Speaker 37: laugh and that kind of turned it around.
- 46:37Speaker 3: Gruden embraces it.
- 46:38Speaker 39: Man.
- 46:39Speaker 6: I'll tell you what I love. Give me some new
- 46:42Speaker 6: commercials here, man, and uh, but Schefter's.
- 46:46Speaker 3: Okay with it.
- 46:47Speaker 9: But he doesn't like the eshes the way I shave
- 46:49Speaker 9: the letter esh not how I'd say it.
- 46:52Speaker 3: It's not only they can do it because these are
- 46:53Speaker 3: magic tricks.
- 46:54Speaker 4: Really, it's not.
- 46:55Speaker 6: They're not.
- 46:57Speaker 3: It's not sorcery. It's not it's not it's not.
- 47:00Speaker 37: It's something you work at over and over and over
- 47:01Speaker 37: to try and pull off the illusion. So uh some
- 47:05Speaker 37: and when people hear themselves, I try to do stuff
- 47:07Speaker 37: that I really like about the person. So I find
- 47:10Speaker 37: the thing that goes, oh, that's what makes that person famous.
- 47:12Speaker 37: That what that's what makes them interesting, as opposed to
- 47:15Speaker 37: you know, I taking a person and just trying to
- 47:18Speaker 37: be rate them or make them sound unlikable. I want
- 47:21Speaker 37: the person to be likable, like if I watch it,
- 47:23Speaker 37: like I watched Charles Barkley, who's the most honest guy.
- 47:26Speaker 6: He's going to tell you things.
- 47:27Speaker 37: Part of his thing is he's going to be super
- 47:29Speaker 37: honest with you, like and he's got the he's got
- 47:31Speaker 37: the greatest thing. He's pulled it off that like nobody
- 47:34Speaker 37: else could NBN, T and T now ESPN but whatever.
- 47:37Speaker 37: But he you know, he he doesn't really study. He
- 47:40Speaker 37: kind of knows what's.
- 47:40Speaker 6: Going on a little bit about what's going on in
- 47:42Speaker 6: the game.
- 47:44Speaker 37: I'm with you, but that's but you want to watch
- 47:46Speaker 37: him because Charles Barker and then they said they basically said, listen.
- 47:49Speaker 3: You don't know much. You don't pay attention to the NBA.
- 47:53Speaker 3: You talk. You know you don't care.
- 47:54Speaker 6: That's what I'll what I'll do. How about we put
- 47:58Speaker 6: you on college basketball too?
- 48:00Speaker 3: Love it?
- 48:00Speaker 6: How much we're gonna pay pray right, I'm ready to go, man,
- 48:03Speaker 6: I'm ready to go.
- 48:04Speaker 37: And let's go from weight watchers to give myself the
- 48:07Speaker 37: shot fat shot man.
- 48:09Speaker 3: Science.
- 48:09Speaker 12: It's science, man.
- 48:11Speaker 2: But I like when Shaq gets upset whether you need
- 48:13Speaker 2: to stop well Shaq, Shaq is Charles is basically the
- 48:17Speaker 2: Rosetta stone for Shack, right, because Shack will say something.
- 48:21Speaker 6: Everybody's looking around in the set Charles like, well, the
- 48:24Speaker 6: first part of what you said was really good, and
- 48:27Speaker 6: then first of all, and then he'll get four first
- 48:29Speaker 6: of all deep.
- 48:29Speaker 2: But it'll be first of all, second, first of all,
- 48:32Speaker 2: first of all infinitive, first of all.
- 48:36Speaker 39: So uh yeah.
- 48:38Speaker 37: Those it's the sports guys are always interesting to me,
- 48:41Speaker 37: and they're fun because the analysts are always breaking down
- 48:45Speaker 37: stuff in games. And this is what Madden did himself,
- 48:48Speaker 37: is he would go outside of the game and break
- 48:51Speaker 37: down somebody in the in the crowd like it was
- 48:53Speaker 37: a football game. And I think that's that's kind of
- 48:56Speaker 37: what was the spur to my comedy was doing that
- 48:59Speaker 37: type of thing. You take these sports guys and breakdown
- 49:01Speaker 37: everyday life types of things in that sports vernacular, so
- 49:05Speaker 37: to speak, and it makes it it makes it a
- 49:08Speaker 37: lot of fun. So yeah, and I'm looking I listen,
- 49:11Speaker 37: I'm I'm honest. I'm an honest guy. And you know,
- 49:14Speaker 37: by the way, I'm gonna be at Hartford.
- 49:15Speaker 3: That's one of the reasons I was gonna say what
- 49:17Speaker 3: I'm looking at it work.
- 49:19Speaker 37: I'm working on a Wilburg Theater date in Boston. Yeah,
- 49:23Speaker 37: and my Boston accent I'm working on. I'm working on
- 49:26Speaker 37: getting to the Wilberg. We were gonna try and do
- 49:28Speaker 37: something over the summer, but the the World Cup is
- 49:31Speaker 37: all around the thing. Yeah, it starts, it tends to
- 49:34Speaker 37: cut into some stuff, so I didn't want to do
- 49:36Speaker 37: They're looking for a fall date, but right now I'm
- 49:38Speaker 37: in Hartford. I know you guys are all New England
- 49:40Speaker 37: and even beyond, but Hartford at the Hartford Funny Bone
- 49:46Speaker 37: next week, February thirteenth, fourteenth fifteenth Frankonstage dot com for
- 49:52Speaker 37: those tickets of Frank on Stage dot com Hertford, Connecticut.
- 49:56Speaker 37: That's the only time I'm going to be in New
- 49:57Speaker 37: England right now. And hopefully in the fall as well.
- 49:59Speaker 3: That's cool. You're not gonna be at Robert Craft's party
- 50:02Speaker 3: this week.
- 50:02Speaker 37: I haven't gotten the invite. Yeah, I'm going to work
- 50:05Speaker 37: with I'm going to Tony Robbins house.
- 50:07Speaker 2: But okay, that's that's that's that's not some some motivationaltail.
- 50:11Speaker 3: There's just name dropping. Guys. There you go, there you
- 50:15Speaker 3: all right, Well listen, Frank, we appreciate you. Take it.
- 50:17Speaker 3: Thanks you guys for having you guys. What a treat.
- 50:20Speaker 2: All right, Frank Caliendo, everybody, all right, thank you, all right,
- 50:24Speaker 2: let's take a break.
- 50:25Speaker 3: We'll be right back. No, no break. What I don't
- 50:30Speaker 3: know what that means.
- 50:30Speaker 6: We're gonna I don't know what. Pointing to the next guest.
- 50:33Speaker 3: Oh, Diana Recidi.
- 50:34Speaker 7: Okay, all right, I got your teas. Okay, all right,
- 50:39Speaker 7: So she's she's in. She's in the show, in the
- 50:41Speaker 7: middle of talking.
- 50:42Speaker 4: That's so fun, all right. I wish I could do
- 50:43Speaker 4: impressions like.
- 50:44Speaker 2: So, somebody tell her that she's ready to go, all right,
- 50:46Speaker 2: because I don't Diana, come on over here.
- 50:51Speaker 3: Yes, okay, you know.
- 50:56Speaker 4: You guys.
- 50:57Speaker 3: She's saying hello to Frank.
- 50:59Speaker 2: I'm glad I was to get some coaching there on
- 51:03Speaker 2: my all right, yeah you got your Morgan Fraeman down there.
- 51:05Speaker 3: We go, Oh yeah, all right, Diana Rossini, everybody.
- 51:11Speaker 6: He was also very happy to meet Frank Kelly and yeah, why.
- 51:15Speaker 9: Not just people with talent that work at it, and
- 51:21Speaker 9: he just so you don't like us, You guys were
- 51:24Speaker 9: given these jobs.
- 51:25Speaker 2: I heard.
- 51:28Speaker 3: Gave.
- 51:28Speaker 9: I heard mister Kraft made a call and was like,
- 51:31Speaker 9: you know, you guys must have did something to help
- 51:33Speaker 9: him out down the line. So no, guys, it's so
- 51:35Speaker 9: nice to nice to meet.
- 51:40Speaker 4: We spoke briefly at a owner's meeting yourself. You have
- 51:43Speaker 4: a kid named Mike. Okay, that's where somehow it came over.
- 51:46Speaker 4: You're saying each other, You're like.
- 51:50Speaker 9: Yeah, I got Mikey and Joey.
- 51:51Speaker 5: There's not enough Mike's. There used to be so many
- 51:54Speaker 5: and now there's none. So thank you for keeping us going.
- 51:56Speaker 22: You know.
- 51:56Speaker 9: It's funny his daycare said that they're like, he's the
- 51:58Speaker 9: only Michael in the school. Mike, really, I know, I
- 52:01Speaker 9: was like one of four.
- 52:02Speaker 4: Am I like, wyoh crazy?
- 52:04Speaker 3: So when it comes to Patriots news, your name is
- 52:06Speaker 3: popping up more and more. What's going on?
- 52:09Speaker 9: Like I've always covered the Patriots, I know. Yeah, So
- 52:12Speaker 9: when I was at ESPN, I was a sports center
- 52:15Speaker 9: anchor first, but I loved football, and so I used
- 52:18Speaker 9: to convince my boss to let me go be a reporter.
- 52:22Speaker 9: And they didn't want to have me travel because I
- 52:24Speaker 9: would have to do Sports center later in the day
- 52:26Speaker 9: or the next day. So they're like, just go to
- 52:27Speaker 9: New England. So I used to go there and by
- 52:30Speaker 9: the way, wasn't too shabby. They cover the New England
- 52:32Speaker 9: Patriots those years, right, because they were winning. And that's
- 52:35Speaker 9: actually really where my career as an NFL reporter started,
- 52:39Speaker 9: was around Brady and Gronk and Edelman and Amon Doola
- 52:42Speaker 9: like all those even Jimmy like those guys to this
- 52:46Speaker 9: day are like people I still stay in touch with
- 52:48Speaker 9: because that's where I started and learn about the game,
- 52:51Speaker 9: and they were you know, one of the most frequent
- 52:53Speaker 9: questions I get is like, what's the best locker room
- 52:55Speaker 9: you've ever been a part of or got to cover
- 52:57Speaker 9: and be in, And it's always those years. Yeah, guys
- 53:00Speaker 9: were awesome. Ye, yes, because they're winning. But I think
- 53:03Speaker 9: a lot of people thought, like the Belichick way meant
- 53:05Speaker 9: that that would make for just like a tightly wound group.
- 53:09Speaker 9: And that wasn't it.
- 53:10Speaker 3: What do you how do you compare those teams with
- 53:12Speaker 3: the team we've got right now?
- 53:14Speaker 9: They're they're finding themselves still, Like, yes, they're here in
- 53:17Speaker 9: the Super Bowl, and I think it's pretty darn remarkable.
- 53:20Speaker 9: I mean, I was at training camp in the summer
- 53:23Speaker 9: when they had that joint practice with the Commanders. Yeah, yeah,
- 53:26Speaker 9: And I remember driving home going, I think it's gonna
- 53:29Speaker 9: be like a five win season.
- 53:32Speaker 4: We felt the same way. We were watching it too, right,
- 53:34Speaker 4: Like Drake.
- 53:35Speaker 9: Was okay, I just it just didn't look like it
- 53:38Speaker 9: was clicking. And I covered rabel Tons when he was
- 53:42Speaker 9: with Tennessee. So that was that was my other punishment
- 53:45Speaker 9: at ESPN. So there's like a lot of really good,
- 53:48Speaker 9: talented NFL reporters at ESPN, and so when I joined
- 53:51Speaker 9: that group, they're like, all right, well you're gonna get
- 53:54Speaker 9: like the teams that no one really pays attention to,
- 53:56Speaker 9: So go cover the Titians right, Well.
- 53:59Speaker 6: Too bad at the time.
- 54:02Speaker 9: So I started with Malarkey and then Reebel gets hired
- 54:05Speaker 9: and I was there and I remember all of a
- 54:08Speaker 9: sudden it started to change. They went from being like
- 54:10Speaker 9: no one thought about them to Mike got them playing
- 54:13Speaker 9: really well. And then of course they went to the
- 54:14Speaker 9: AFC Championship game in twenty nineteen and I got to
- 54:17Speaker 9: cover them, and so I know what it looks like
- 54:20Speaker 9: when he's leading on a team when it's working. And
- 54:24Speaker 9: I would argue that there was probably maybe a little
- 54:25Speaker 9: bit more skill in that group. They are better players
- 54:28Speaker 9: in that twenty nineteen Titans team. But I see already
- 54:32Speaker 9: it's worked, like I'm starting to see it grow. But
- 54:35Speaker 9: but it's it's a work in progress, which is crazy
- 54:37Speaker 9: because they're playing in the super Bowl and z No.
- 54:39Speaker 3: I mean, we're as stunned as anyone.
- 54:41Speaker 2: I mean, no one on this panel expected what's happening,
- 54:45Speaker 2: but we could see it starting to evolve.
- 54:48Speaker 3: And I think you mentioned Itel, He's got these guys
- 54:52Speaker 3: playing for him.
- 54:54Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 54:54Speaker 9: And he's different too, Oh yeah, I have different from
- 54:59Speaker 9: when he was ten. I've observed it. Even just talking
- 55:02Speaker 9: to some of the players yesterday trying to just trying
- 55:05Speaker 9: to find collect little stories about him to write a piece.
- 55:10Speaker 9: I'm just surprised how loose.
- 55:13Speaker 3: He is with them.
- 55:14Speaker 9: He ran a really tight ship in Tennessee.
- 55:16Speaker 6: Oh is that right.
- 55:17Speaker 9: He obsessed over the dumbest things, and I'd be like, like,
- 55:21Speaker 9: why are those guys getting like why are they decide
- 55:23Speaker 9: running sprints? And I'd find out it was like because
- 55:25Speaker 9: they were like late to training room or something like
- 55:28Speaker 9: something that I didn't really understand, but to him was
- 55:30Speaker 9: important and valuable and you respect your teammates by being
- 55:33Speaker 9: on time, all the things that are important in any
- 55:36Speaker 9: line of work. But I find him a little looser,
- 55:41Speaker 9: which is a good thing. I think it's because he's
- 55:44Speaker 9: still always gonna be disciplinary and he's still gonna be
- 55:46Speaker 9: hard because of where he comes from and how he
- 55:47Speaker 9: was raised in football. But the fact that you can't
- 55:51Speaker 9: talk to a player about their success without them bringing
- 55:54Speaker 9: him up. Everyone said they all started Margan Moses yesterday
- 55:58Speaker 9: was like it's he's just inspired. I'm like, what what
- 56:00Speaker 9: are you? What is he doing in these meetings?
- 56:03Speaker 6: I think, say, that's amazing.
- 56:05Speaker 2: I think one of the things he's learned is that
- 56:07Speaker 2: not everything is important, you know, And he says it a.
- 56:10Speaker 3: Lot now, like, oh that's interesting, but it's not important.
- 56:13Speaker 2: And now I think he's focusing on the important things
- 56:16Speaker 2: and letting the interesting things kind of go by.
- 56:19Speaker 3: Whereas maybe in the past everything he had to feel
- 56:23Speaker 3: he had to go.
- 56:24Speaker 9: That's growth too, because he's in his early fifties to
- 56:27Speaker 9: be able to self observe and reflect on maybe some
- 56:34Speaker 9: of your mistakes. Like look, the Tennessee ending there wasn't great.
- 56:37Speaker 9: It wasn't like, just a lot of weirdness happened at
- 56:42Speaker 9: the end there where I wasn't sure really where that
- 56:45Speaker 9: was going to go. I could have I could see
- 56:46Speaker 9: them keeping them, but him getting fired was definitely.
- 56:49Speaker 3: On the tape. I mean, Adam still won't talk to him.
- 56:53Speaker 9: Uh So to do that and then to go to Cleveland,
- 56:56Speaker 9: and I remember watching practice out there and Stefansk he
- 57:00Speaker 9: was like, die, you gotta see this guy. He's like
- 57:02Speaker 9: a labordoodle the way he runs around this field. He's
- 57:06Speaker 9: all And I think that I think sometimes when you
- 57:08Speaker 9: get knocked down, like how many times do you think
- 57:10Speaker 9: he's actually been a failure at anything? I bet you
- 57:13Speaker 9: he's never been fired at anything. He's done right right.
- 57:15Speaker 9: So to get fired from a dream job, I know
- 57:18Speaker 9: that you and his family they love living there. I'm
- 57:20Speaker 9: sure that that that was difficult. So to to go
- 57:24Speaker 9: and kind of reinvent and tweak and be around people
- 57:26Speaker 9: that do it very differently. Andrew Barr and Kevin Sevanski
- 57:29Speaker 9: run a very different operation when they were together. To
- 57:32Speaker 9: take all of that evolve and then to get this
- 57:34Speaker 9: job in New England and do this already, it's it's tremendous.
- 57:36Speaker 2: So, Dan, what are you specifically working on while you're here?
- 57:40Speaker 2: Is there anything that you're focused on?
- 57:42Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 57:42Speaker 9: Everything? Both the Super Bowl? Actually no, no. So we
- 57:46Speaker 9: have our great reporters that you guys I'm sure of
- 57:47Speaker 9: interviewed before at the Athletic Chad Grafft that covers New
- 57:50Speaker 9: England for.
- 57:51Speaker 3: Us so well.
- 57:52Speaker 9: But my job is really to find out what everyone
- 57:55Speaker 9: else in the league is talking about right now outside
- 57:57Speaker 9: of the game, whether it's players that maybe want to
- 58:00Speaker 9: get treated a lot of digging right now on this
- 58:02Speaker 9: coaching hiring cycle, what this is going to look like
- 58:05Speaker 9: for these stats, what this really looks like for the players.
- 58:07Speaker 9: I've got the Pro Bowl tonight where I can just
- 58:09Speaker 9: grab some of these guys of like, hey, what are
- 58:11Speaker 9: you hearing so far about? You know, your new coach,
- 58:13Speaker 9: Like Jon Robinson was chewing my ear off yesterday about
- 58:16Speaker 9: what the run game is going to look like with
- 58:18Speaker 9: Stefanski right, because that's what he does. So so doing
- 58:21Speaker 9: some of that and then by Saturday night I'll lock
- 58:25Speaker 9: into the game.
- 58:25Speaker 2: And then because I'll do your job for you, you
- 58:29Speaker 2: will please the Athletic.
- 58:31Speaker 9: I want to take my phone.
- 58:32Speaker 2: The Athletic is one of the few things I still
- 58:34Speaker 2: subscribe to. Oh you like us, it's a great deal.
- 58:36Speaker 6: Good.
- 58:37Speaker 2: I mean, like you get everything, Like you get that
- 58:39Speaker 2: morning email that has all ahead and if you know
- 58:43Speaker 2: you whatever you're interested in, you just click and so
- 58:45Speaker 2: we thank It's like everything in one place, and it's
- 58:48Speaker 2: great writers.
- 58:49Speaker 3: It's really high quality. So I think it's one of
- 58:52Speaker 3: the best values out there.
- 58:53Speaker 9: Thank you, And I'm really really proud to work here.
- 58:56Speaker 9: I worked at Espanton for ten years. Yeah, and it
- 58:59Speaker 9: was really hard for me to leave because I loved
- 59:01Speaker 9: it and it was was ESPN's the best where my leader,
- 59:04Speaker 9: and so when the Athletic approached me to take over
- 59:07Speaker 9: as their insider, I was like, I don't know, like this,
- 59:10Speaker 9: this doesn't seem right.
- 59:11Speaker 3: Lot it is. Oh yeah.
- 59:13Speaker 9: I had a hard first year because you have to
- 59:16Speaker 9: push yourself and realize what you're capable of doing, and
- 59:20Speaker 9: you have to really go at it hard. And I did,
- 59:22Speaker 9: and I had good people helping me too. I did
- 59:24Speaker 9: not do that alone, like I had so many people
- 59:26Speaker 9: in football reach out and be like, you're gonna drown,
- 59:29Speaker 9: Like you need to do this, this and this, You
- 59:31Speaker 9: need to call more. Actually had a head coach my
- 59:34Speaker 9: first three months. He reached out to me and said,
- 59:37Speaker 9: how come you don't call me? I said, why would
- 59:40Speaker 9: I call you? He's like, because you're an insider. I'm like,
- 59:42Speaker 9: oh my gosh, you're right, and he's like, because you're
- 59:44Speaker 9: And his point was, your competitors are calling me right.
- 59:47Speaker 9: So if you want to stay in this and do
- 59:49Speaker 9: this at a high level, you're gonna have to get
- 59:50Speaker 9: more aggressive. And I think I've got a little bit
- 59:53Speaker 9: more aggresive since. But but the Athletic is I think
- 59:55Speaker 9: they're the best writers, the most tremendous beat reporters in
- 59:59Speaker 9: the country.
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: I agree they've they've really you know, created a really
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: cool thing. And you know, nowadays like people aren't reading
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: as much they really should.
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: Yep.
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: So like places like the Athletic, I think we need
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: to support as sports fans because you'll miss it when
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: they're gone.
- 1:00:14Speaker 9: So it's true and if you really love your team,
- 1:00:16Speaker 9: and we know this fan base is rabid about it,
- 1:00:20Speaker 9: Like you're getting stories outside of just the basic x's
- 1:00:23Speaker 9: and those of things that you're seeing that you can
- 1:00:24Speaker 9: see on your television. You know our reporters, did they
- 1:00:27Speaker 9: find out the stories that you just cannot get anywhere else?
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: All right?
- 1:00:31Speaker 6: Thank you? Yeah, that's a lost art. This is what
- 1:00:34Speaker 6: I where they go and we're old.
- 1:00:41Speaker 9: You're you're wise journalism these just because I do have
- 1:00:44Speaker 9: to write a lot of stuff that and and do
- 1:00:46Speaker 9: some digging on a lot of these stories. And I'm
- 1:00:49Speaker 9: sure you've read some of the things that we've had
- 1:00:50Speaker 9: to do on the Jets, and we recently did something
- 1:00:53Speaker 9: on the Minnesota Vikings and why they fired their GM.
- 1:00:58Speaker 6: I read that, thank you.
- 1:00:59Speaker 9: The heart of part about doing these stories is people
- 1:01:02Speaker 9: don't want to take the time to read and understand
- 1:01:05Speaker 9: why you're writing about it. They just take headlines or
- 1:01:08Speaker 9: details that don't actually reflect with the stories of I'd say,
- 1:01:11Speaker 9: like in twenty twenty six, that's been the hardest part
- 1:01:13Speaker 9: about doing this. Whereas I feel like on TV, I
- 1:01:15Speaker 9: could go on the air for thirty seconds say and
- 1:01:17Speaker 9: people get it. Not everyone's aways gonna read your whole article,
- 1:01:20Speaker 9: so I always try to keep that in mind when
- 1:01:21Speaker 9: I'm ready.
- 1:01:22Speaker 5: How do you deal with the pushback because a lot
- 1:01:23Speaker 5: of fan bases don't want to hear what you have
- 1:01:25Speaker 5: to tell them?
- 1:01:26Speaker 6: Yeah, especially ours?
- 1:01:27Speaker 9: Yeah, I I have someone to really like the Patriots
- 1:01:32Speaker 9: fan base because they just they just want the truth.
- 1:01:34Speaker 9: I do find that whereas Philly does not want to
- 1:01:37Speaker 9: be told anything.
- 1:01:39Speaker 6: Philly is tough.
- 1:01:39Speaker 9: They are all over my benches. I don't really engage.
- 1:01:42Speaker 9: I've learned that it's not because most fans that I
- 1:01:46Speaker 9: do meet there, they're lovely. They don't say the things.
- 1:01:49Speaker 9: So I don't know who these people are. Maybe it's
- 1:01:50Speaker 9: you three on there on Twitter tweet.
- 1:01:53Speaker 4: Like how dare you?
- 1:01:54Speaker 6: How do you see?
- 1:01:56Speaker 34: You know that our run games that as good as
- 1:01:57Speaker 34: that and most of its.
- 1:02:00Speaker 9: Almost because you're the messenger and they don't want to
- 1:02:02Speaker 9: hear it. And I usually just the truth is the
- 1:02:04Speaker 9: truth and to stick with that.
- 1:02:05Speaker 6: That's right.
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: Facts are facts, all right, Diana.
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: I know you're busy, you've got things to do, but
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: we appreciate you taking the time with awesome.
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: Thank you, this is great.
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: To meet you.
- 1:02:17Speaker 9: See you guys plenty.
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: All right, Diana Versini from the athletic subscribe. It's a
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: good value.

- 1:09:57Speaker 3: Yeah there, it only gets you've.
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: Heard of the Odyssey. Yeah, so that's that's a little
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: bit of it. But there's a lot that obviously you
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: can't see.
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: Cool. Maybe maybe uh, Matt no socks is here.
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: I saw Flanagan here, right, Maybe he can get some
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: b roll of stuff and maybe we could show it
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: later in the week.
- 1:10:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: Yeah, some of the sets, you know, the ESPN set
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: and all those sets. Yeah, we can show that later
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: in the week. So we're gonna be here one to

- 1:10:36Speaker 2: We'll be here. Uh, we'll be here all week, as
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: they say. So, who were waiting for Choan Stillado, who
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: is the agent of Tommy DeVito. Uh, who's a New
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: England Patriot. But while we're waiting for him, I see
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: Alex Francisco, the great Alex Francisco.
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: Alex take off.
- 1:10:52Speaker 7: Your take off your yeah, all right, of course you
- 1:10:59Speaker 7: know her as the host of Patriots Unfiltered on TV.
- 1:11:03Speaker 20: Hey, guys, I'm great, good.
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: So where are you coming from? The Tea Hotel, the
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: Team hotel and what's going on back there?
- 1:11:09Speaker 20: We had some media availabilities, rabel A, couple of the guys.
- 1:11:13Speaker 20: It was busy.
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: How was the media availability?
- 1:11:16Speaker 20: A lot of reporters, but pretty standard, honestly.
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: Yeah. So they had that in a big tent YEP.
- 1:11:22Speaker 20: Exactly, it's outdoors.
- 1:11:23Speaker 40: It's like it's almost looks like it's like a wedding setup,
- 1:11:26Speaker 40: you know, one of those event tents and podium step
- 1:11:30Speaker 40: and repeat.
- 1:11:30Speaker 3: Did you you know, talk to anyone, you know, see
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: any of the interviews.
- 1:11:35Speaker 40: A little bit. I watched Rabel. There's so many people
- 1:11:37Speaker 40: that I'm kind of just like hanging off to the side.
- 1:11:40Speaker 40: I got a lot yesterday at UH at the opening night. Yep,
- 1:11:43Speaker 40: so that was really cool. Paul like warned me about
- 1:11:46Speaker 40: what to expect. How much of a circuits it was.
- 1:11:50Speaker 40: You were so close, I think when you watch it
- 1:11:52Speaker 40: on TV.
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:11:54Speaker 20: I don't know what I thought it was going to be,
- 1:11:55Speaker 20: but it was totally.
- 1:11:56Speaker 7: I thought there would be opportunities for some lifestyle, Yeah,
- 1:12:00Speaker 7: that would there definitely was Jimmy Cammel.
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: Yea competing first, this is your first Super Bowl so
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: so far, what do you think? What do you you know?
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: Is this like kind of what you expected or you
- 1:12:12Speaker 3: know better better.
- 1:12:13Speaker 20: It's way better.
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:12:15Speaker 20: I'm just it's so exciting to be here.
- 1:12:17Speaker 40: There's an infectious energy and everywhere you go, you know,
- 1:12:21Speaker 40: like from getting coffee and someone seeing I'm wearing a
- 1:12:24Speaker 40: Patriot shirt and getting excited and giving me free chocolate,
- 1:12:27Speaker 40: to like.
- 1:12:28Speaker 20: Just people want to talk to you. You know, everyone's happy.
- 1:12:30Speaker 6: How get free chocolate?
- 1:12:32Speaker 4: That's one of the last great questions that I'm always
- 1:12:35Speaker 4: open for free chocolate.
- 1:12:36Speaker 20: That might be a certain type of privilege.
- 1:12:38Speaker 4: I'll try to couple.
- 1:12:41Speaker 3: So, what are some of the things that you are
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: planning to do this week? Planning to do.
- 1:12:49Speaker 4: Capture the spirit of the thing.
- 1:12:50Speaker 20: Capture the spirit for sure.
- 1:12:53Speaker 40: I really enjoyed kind of observing the guys yesterday, and
- 1:12:59Speaker 40: I'll talk you about one moment I thought was really nice.
- 1:13:01Speaker 20: I was walking around the opening night and.
- 1:13:05Speaker 40: I saw Jack Gibbons just like sitting on the floor,
- 1:13:08Speaker 40: and I was like, why is Jack sitting on the floor?
- 1:13:10Speaker 40: And then I look closer and he's talking to a
- 1:13:13Speaker 40: reporter who's in a wheelchair, so he was like getting
- 1:13:15Speaker 40: down with him.
- 1:13:16Speaker 20: It was just such a nice thing. I don't know
- 1:13:19Speaker 20: what prompted it, but just observing.
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: From a car high level. Yeah, yeah, yeah, but there's
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: a lot of stuff going around in town. I would suggest, like, yeah, parties, Yeah,
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: like checking out what the schedule is stuff and when
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: just going you know, just hang that's for sure.
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: Just go and make your own, you know, schedule.
- 1:13:38Speaker 40: My girls, Carissa Thompson and Aaron Andrews are doing a
- 1:13:41Speaker 40: live podcast tomorrow.
- 1:13:42Speaker 20: I got invited to, so maybe check.
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: That, But I don't want you at the Team hotel. No, seriously,
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: I don't want you there. I want you out, you
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: in San Francisco. I want you wherever there's stuff going on.
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: And just do that.
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: Don't worry about the team. That's my planet. That Evan's
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: got that covered. Don't worry about it.
- 1:14:00Speaker 40: I think now that that stuff's done in the morning
- 1:14:02Speaker 40: and last night, I think the rest of the day,
- 1:14:04Speaker 40: I'm going to spend up here.
- 1:14:05Speaker 20: Yeah, get a lay of the land.
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, so go go check it out and then
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: report back here and tell us what you've done.
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: We'll do, Yeah, we'll do all right.
- 1:14:13Speaker 7: How's that bad bunny press conference for a You're gonna
- 1:14:15Speaker 7: go to that like you did to go to YouTube.
- 1:14:17Speaker 7: That was just that was you just leave me and
- 1:14:19Speaker 7: Mike to do the whole show by ourselves. That was
- 1:14:21Speaker 7: different like you and Brian did, right, you know you remember, right, well,
- 1:14:24Speaker 7: somebody had to be there. We had a report from there.
- 1:14:26Speaker 7: Yeah yeah, and Fred and Brian just love you too,
- 1:14:30Speaker 7: So they had to go to the Bono press conference.
- 1:14:32Speaker 6: It was fun this is and Shane fell asleep, yeah
- 1:14:36Speaker 6: on the air. His head on the microphone was a
- 1:14:39Speaker 6: little head.
- 1:14:39Speaker 3: He was a little hungover.
- 1:14:40Speaker 6: Baby want too many Patti O'Brien's hurricanes.
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: Yeah that was crazy. Okay, so that's good. So are
- 1:14:48Speaker 2: you gonna do a newsletter this week? I am?
- 1:14:50Speaker 3: Okay, super Bowl edition?
- 1:14:52Speaker 7: All right, we're gonna need you in like, you know,

- 1:15:33Speaker 4: Oh, his wife's coming in two days.
- 1:15:38Speaker 6: Seriously, seriously, what do you guys? What do you guys
- 1:15:41Speaker 6: do that for?
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: Question?
- 1:15:43Speaker 6: That's just on call for I get copying on. You know,
- 1:15:47Speaker 6: how many times do you catch me being on hire?
- 1:15:50Speaker 20: Fewer than you would expect.
- 1:15:52Speaker 7: Correct, correct, that's the right answer, because never would not
- 1:15:55Speaker 7: be correct, But fewer than you would expect is the
- 1:15:57Speaker 7: right answer?
- 1:15:59Speaker 6: Thank you? All right, Friend's like disgusted.
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: Now I'm just looking around for we're supposed to our
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: next guests supposed to be.
- 1:16:07Speaker 24: Uh.
- 1:16:07Speaker 7: Friend's like the guy when you know, when you go
- 1:16:08Speaker 7: to a party and you as anybody's just looking around,
- 1:16:13Speaker 7: who's more important than deal?
- 1:16:15Speaker 20: You're looking for a better deal?
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: I just I feel the pace of the show slowing down.
- 1:16:21Speaker 6: All Right, you can take some call.
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm gonna do that. Let's go, Uh, let's go
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: to Buston Cream. What's up, busted Cream?
- 1:16:27Speaker 3: How you doing?
- 1:16:31Speaker 41: Just spent the last can you hear me?
- 1:16:33Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:16:35Speaker 41: Hey, I just spent the last two hours watching the
- 1:16:38Speaker 41: video while I was running on the treadmill. Realized I
- 1:16:41Speaker 41: got about thirty minutes in and I was I'm definitely
- 1:16:44Speaker 41: an audio listener. I can't look at you guys for
- 1:16:46Speaker 41: two hours.
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: Yep.
- 1:16:47Speaker 41: That being said, I think I have some trivia to.
- 1:16:51Speaker 8: Stump Paul and at super Bowl.
- 1:16:53Speaker 41: Okay, related, all right, okay, first question, who is h
- 1:17:01Speaker 41: super Bowl leading? It's been a super Bowl.
- 1:17:04Speaker 3: I didn't care. Yeah, broke up, you broke up a little,
- 1:17:07Speaker 3: But what was the question? Again?
- 1:17:10Speaker 36: The super Bowl single game leading rusher for the Patriots
- 1:17:15Speaker 36: in their history.
- 1:17:16Speaker 3: In a Super Bowl for the Patriots in a Super Bowl.
- 1:17:19Speaker 4: Oh boy, that's a really good question.
- 1:17:21Speaker 3: Uh in the Super Bowl.
- 1:17:26Speaker 6: Kevin falk Curtis.
- 1:17:28Speaker 36: Martin, it's Sony Michelle and.
- 1:17:34Speaker 6: Oh I miss read. I misunderstood the question. Single game.
- 1:17:38Speaker 6: I yeah, that's what that wouldn't have been my guest,
- 1:17:41Speaker 6: Kevin Falk, I was guessing.
- 1:17:43Speaker 3: No, I thought it was single game.
- 1:17:45Speaker 39: So I got it.
- 1:17:45Speaker 6: Oh he did, he said it right? I just I
- 1:17:47Speaker 6: just okay, So you stumped Paul.
- 1:17:50Speaker 36: Yep Okay, I got two more?
- 1:17:52Speaker 3: Okay?
- 1:17:53Speaker 13: Am I afforded to more?
- 1:17:55Speaker 3: As look as your phone doesn't break up.
- 1:17:58Speaker 36: Single game rush sorry, single sack record for Patriots, it's
- 1:18:06Speaker 36: two and a half. I'll give you a.
- 1:18:07Speaker 4: Hint, will Will McGinnis. Yeah, let'nna say, Willie.
- 1:18:12Speaker 41: I believe Willy had two. You want another guest?
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: Rabelrabel also had two.
- 1:18:19Speaker 4: Roosevelt Colvin.
- 1:18:20Speaker 36: It's Trey Flowers in fifty one?
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: Oh, okay, two and a half?
- 1:18:25Speaker 4: Big sack there near the end.
- 1:18:26Speaker 6: Which one was fifty one?
- 1:18:27Speaker 4: Atlanta?
- 1:18:29Speaker 3: Okay? Okay? What's your final?
- 1:18:31Speaker 18: One?
- 1:18:32Speaker 38: Final one?
- 1:18:33Speaker 36: Before James White won the Super Bowl in fifty one
- 1:18:37Speaker 36: versus Atlanta.
- 1:18:38Speaker 41: There was an incomplete pass.
- 1:18:40Speaker 6: To which Patriots player Martellus Bennett.
- 1:18:44Speaker 36: Now you there you go, Paul, there you got.
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: All right, thanks blustering, Dream, appreciate the call. All right,
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: let's go to uh Dan in New Jersey. What's up, Dan?
- 1:19:01Speaker 6: Hey?
- 1:19:01Speaker 24: Dan?
- 1:19:03Speaker 3: Yeah, hey, hey, yeah, Now you talk okay, yeah, yeah.
- 1:19:10Speaker 8: All right.
- 1:19:11Speaker 13: I'm sorry to get a little different. And so you
- 1:19:15Speaker 13: were talking about how good we've hadded six and six,
- 1:19:19Speaker 13: seven and five. Did you talk about the fact that
- 1:19:22Speaker 13: we've gotten now forty playoffs wins. I know that because
- 1:19:28Speaker 13: Nance pointed out, but also that you know, if you
- 1:19:32Speaker 13: do the math going back to eighty five, that's one
- 1:19:34Speaker 13: first season. It's my high school math of films.
- 1:19:39Speaker 8: That's pretty good.
- 1:19:40Speaker 13: I signed for that.
- 1:19:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, no one's complaining who's better than us?
- 1:19:45Speaker 6: Yeah, Deuce is afraid that we're going to drop to
- 1:19:47Speaker 6: five hundred.
- 1:19:48Speaker 3: So you're you're afraid that people don't appreciate that, Dan,
- 1:19:52Speaker 3: Is that the issue here?
- 1:19:55Speaker 13: But there's no issue. I just want to, you know,
- 1:19:59Speaker 13: point out that, you know, it's been a pretty good
- 1:20:01Speaker 13: run there, and yup, I feel it pretty good about
- 1:20:04Speaker 13: Sunday for the rematch. Okay, you know we didn't come
- 1:20:08Speaker 13: to far. It becomes as far, that's right. Twenty four
- 1:20:12Speaker 13: twenty one Patriots. Henderson with a big contribution.
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: All right, sounds goold, sounds good. Dan, appreciate the job, Dan, Dan,
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: Dan A little worried that people aren't appreciating the fact
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: that we won some games in the playoffs.
- 1:20:25Speaker 5: Watch a lot of playoff victories? Yeah, is that did
- 1:20:30Speaker 5: Did the Patriots have the most? I mean, I'm guessing
- 1:20:31Speaker 5: they obviously have the most super Bowls, so they must
- 1:20:33Speaker 5: have the playoff most playoff victories?
- 1:20:34Speaker 2: Right?
- 1:20:35Speaker 4: NFL history of Patriots, Yes, right, yes, simple math.
- 1:20:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: I thought I thought they just broke the record of
- 1:20:43Speaker 2: which team was it? I forget San Francisco? Yeah it
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: might have been.
- 1:20:46Speaker 18: Yeah.
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: Would that win in Denver? I think they they broke
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: the record, if that's right. Yeah, let's see Carl and
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: salt Lake says his prediction is twenty seven to twenty
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: four Patriots. In the theme of seeing ghosts and the
- 1:20:59Speaker 2: intercon of everything, this is how the game will end.
- 1:21:03Speaker 2: With two minutes left, the Seahawks will get the ball
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: and need to get down the field for a field goal.
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: We will stop them. On the first three plays. It
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: will be fourth and six. Gonzo will have shut down
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: JSN the whole game. Darnald will try to throw a
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: slant to Cup, but Marcus Jones will undercut the throw
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: for a game ceiling interception.
- 1:21:22Speaker 3: Oh gee, so he's got it all planned now.
- 1:21:24Speaker 5: I've seen a lot of this, and I just think
- 1:21:26Speaker 5: people are for are not realizing how hard it is
- 1:21:29Speaker 5: to just match up Gonzo with Jason.
- 1:21:31Speaker 4: I mean, as.
- 1:21:32Speaker 5: Everybody who has had any quarterbacks or even like everything
- 1:21:36Speaker 5: is focused on Jackson Smith and jig but and shutting
- 1:21:39Speaker 5: him down. They're gonna put him in the backfield, They're
- 1:21:41Speaker 5: gonna move him all around so.
- 1:21:43Speaker 4: That they can try to dictate matchups with him.
- 1:21:44Speaker 5: So it sounds great on paper, just dick Gonzo on
- 1:21:47Speaker 5: him and we'll shut it down. I don't I don't
- 1:21:48Speaker 5: see that happening. I just don't think that they're gonna
- 1:21:51Speaker 5: be able to physically execute that game plan. They're gonna
- 1:21:53Speaker 5: need to play sides and everybody's gonna need to play
- 1:21:56Speaker 5: really well.
- 1:21:56Speaker 7: I agree, it's it's a hard thing to do, even
- 1:21:59Speaker 7: if you just lie end up traditionally, like like the
- 1:22:02Speaker 7: old Colts, and you knew where he was going to be.
- 1:22:04Speaker 7: He's a great receiver. Now I know that Gonzo's a
- 1:22:07Speaker 7: great corner. So that means they're both going to go
- 1:22:09Speaker 7: back and forth and there's gonna be some plays either way.
- 1:22:11Speaker 7: You know, to to just say you're gonna shut him down.
- 1:22:14Speaker 24: Is.
- 1:22:15Speaker 5: I mean, you know, maybe it's a third down and
- 1:22:18Speaker 5: then it's like, yes, you know that's the play. But
- 1:22:21Speaker 5: you know he's probably Jaxon SMITHINCHI was too good and
- 1:22:23Speaker 5: this is too big of a game.
- 1:22:24Speaker 4: He's going to make some plays.
- 1:22:26Speaker 5: You just have to limit it and you can't let
- 1:22:28Speaker 5: him have one of those big downfield plays that quick
- 1:22:30Speaker 5: scores and you know, those are the game. Those are
- 1:22:32Speaker 5: the plays that just changed the whole complexion of the game.
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: Other than quarterback, because there's so much mental to the position,
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: the hardest position in the NFL is cornerback.
- 1:22:41Speaker 3: Like it's it's really hard to cover a guy that tight.
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: If the quarterback is accurate, yeah, you know, because the
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: minute you make your move, you're open for that second.
- 1:22:52Speaker 5: And if the quarterback has good timing. I mean, look
- 1:22:54Speaker 5: at the the pop touchdown. You know hard yeah where
- 1:22:57Speaker 5: I mean the cornerback is right there. I mean it's
- 1:22:59Speaker 5: Milani and Pop grabbed it turned up field touchdown yep.
- 1:23:03Speaker 20: Not to mention. If you make a penalty, it can
- 1:23:05Speaker 20: be so detrimental, you know, DP I call.
- 1:23:07Speaker 3: And that's why they call it on an Island.
- 1:23:10Speaker 5: Yeah, Alex, I saw you talking to uh Kendrick Bourne
- 1:23:13Speaker 5: over there. I did nice to see him, Like, I know,
- 1:23:15Speaker 5: we're not going to probably have him on this show,
- 1:23:17Speaker 5: but I am kind of interested just to see he
- 1:23:19Speaker 5: knows both these teams really well. He San Francisco, he
- 1:23:22Speaker 5: saw Seattle three times, you know, I mean he obviously
- 1:23:25Speaker 5: knows the Patriots well.
- 1:23:26Speaker 4: I think it would be interesting.
- 1:23:27Speaker 3: Might I don't care him.
- 1:23:28Speaker 4: Come on, I don't care. I don't even care.
- 1:23:31Speaker 20: You see him.
- 1:23:32Speaker 4: I don't still see him.
- 1:23:33Speaker 6: I don't even care.
- 1:23:34Speaker 21: Bro.
- 1:23:34Speaker 4: If he comes by, well we'll give him some plugs
- 1:23:37Speaker 4: for born blessed his cooling grim for sure, you know.
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: Uh Joe and Michigan says, I know, I said, I
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: couldn't predict a score, but Seattle defense overall is sixth.
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: Charges were fifth. Patriots are the best d Seattle has faced. Therefore,
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: the Patriots beat Seattle worse than how they crushed charges.
- 1:23:55Speaker 3: A lot of logic a lot of trans.
- 1:23:57Speaker 6: One in defense, they have the best scoring defensive.
- 1:24:00Speaker 3: Patriots thirty four, Seattle thirteen. Wow. I hope so.
- 1:24:07Speaker 6: Fred would be happy because's the blowout.
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: I am, I am, I have no interest in having
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: an entertaining close game. Let's uh, let's let's get this
- 1:24:16Speaker 2: thing done in the home in the third quarter.
- 1:24:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:24:21Speaker 5: That's the thing with Super Bowls too, they're so long,
- 1:24:22Speaker 5: like when they're close, like it's a long time of stress,
- 1:24:25Speaker 5: like watching the game like on edge and years.
- 1:24:29Speaker 40: You think we're shaved off our life between Atlanta and
- 1:24:31Speaker 40: Seattle especially, I.
- 1:24:33Speaker 5: Tell you the the between the helmet catch and the
- 1:24:35Speaker 5: Seattle catch down near the goal line.
- 1:24:37Speaker 4: Those two players, I think probably shaves a couple off
- 1:24:39Speaker 4: the mind.
- 1:24:41Speaker 3: We were talking about Brady making it easy for Patriots
- 1:24:44Speaker 3: fans to move on.
- 1:24:45Speaker 40: Uh.
- 1:24:45Speaker 2: James Pettigrew, who's the most interesting Patriots fan of the world,
- 1:24:48Speaker 2: rites in we're all Bridget moynihan.
- 1:24:50Speaker 3: Now, yeah, I can see that she's thriving.
- 1:24:54Speaker 6: Though she's gonna say, does that mean we we've all
- 1:24:57Speaker 6: moved on?
- 1:24:57Speaker 10: Yeah?
- 1:24:58Speaker 6: I think she is.
- 1:24:59Speaker 2: Yeah, beautiful successful actors, although she can't completely because they
- 1:25:03Speaker 2: share a.
- 1:25:04Speaker 3: Child, so you know, he's almost eighteen.
- 1:25:07Speaker 42: I don't know.
- 1:25:07Speaker 5: I mean to be honest, guys, and I know I'm
- 1:25:09Speaker 5: the famous Brady hater on the panel here air quotes,
- 1:25:13Speaker 5: but it was like the TB twelve thing, Like I
- 1:25:14Speaker 5: feel like that is when he kind of I shifted
- 1:25:16Speaker 5: from Tom Brady, the six round draft fit from Michigan, who,
- 1:25:20Speaker 5: holy crap, look what he's doing to like now he's
- 1:25:22Speaker 5: a brand, you know, and he's got takes on how
- 1:25:26Speaker 5: you should eat and all, you know, all that stuff
- 1:25:28Speaker 5: that just started to pile up as he had more
- 1:25:31Speaker 5: and more success.
- 1:25:32Speaker 2: Yep, Max says, I'm with Fred about owing so much
- 1:25:35Speaker 2: to Brady. I mean, I have every possible version of
- 1:25:38Speaker 2: his jersey. But he seems to be bitter about the Patriots,
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: maybe because Bill was chose over him. But Or wasn't
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: bitter against the Bruins either was Cherry, who was fired
- 1:25:48Speaker 2: unceremoniously by Sindon Byrd even while working with the Pacers,
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: said he's still rooted for the Celtics. It seems it's
- 1:25:55Speaker 2: not about him. It seems if it's not about him,
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: he's disive. I blame the change on the Brazilian Yoko,
- 1:26:03Speaker 2: who seemed to change him anyway. I hope Drake is
- 1:26:06Speaker 2: taking a page from Tom's work ethic and studying the
- 1:26:08Speaker 2: Seattle's d every waking moment so he will have the answers.
- 1:26:13Speaker 6: We don't have to get into it, but he should
- 1:26:15Speaker 6: do a little research on Bobby Or.
- 1:26:18Speaker 7: There's quite a bit of animosity at the end, and
- 1:26:21Speaker 7: it was all related to Or's agents who didn't tell
- 1:26:23Speaker 7: him Zat eagleson Yes, right, so that the Bruins had
- 1:26:27Speaker 7: made an offer and the agent held out on him
- 1:26:29Speaker 7: and that's why he went to Chicago.
- 1:26:30Speaker 6: There was quite a bit of animosity at the end.
- 1:26:32Speaker 6: There was mended defenses afterwards they did.
- 1:26:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:26:36Speaker 4: I just say, though I don't.
- 1:26:37Speaker 5: I think people are kind of speculating and putting thoughts
- 1:26:40Speaker 5: in Brady's head that like he doesn't appreciate the Patriots anymore.
- 1:26:42Speaker 5: I just think he's got he's part owner of another team.
- 1:26:45Speaker 5: He's on TV like, he's got a ton of things
- 1:26:48Speaker 5: going on there. He has to balance and look he's
- 1:26:51Speaker 5: handling it the way he handles it. But I I
- 1:26:53Speaker 5: don't that's I mean. Look, I watched him during that
- 1:26:55Speaker 5: TV twelve induction ceremony a couple of year. I am
- 1:26:58Speaker 5: Tom Brady and I I am patriot for like I mean,
- 1:27:02Speaker 5: I am a politician, right and that and that and
- 1:27:05Speaker 5: that's why and that's the perfect way to sum it up.
- 1:27:06Speaker 5: Like he's doing more politics now. I just think there's
- 1:27:09Speaker 5: always going to be a special place in his heart
- 1:27:11Speaker 5: for the Patriots. That's where he won six a week.
- 1:27:13Speaker 4: I hope so, because you wouldn' kiss him again now
- 1:27:16Speaker 4: would kissin we.
- 1:27:16Speaker 3: All have a special with your coal.
- 1:27:19Speaker 4: He shouldn't get sick.
- 1:27:22Speaker 2: Daniel writes in who do you think is more likely
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: between May and Donald to carry the team if facing
- 1:27:27Speaker 2: a deficit entering the second half? I think I think
- 1:27:30Speaker 2: I trust Donald more because he has to do less,
- 1:27:34Speaker 2: which is why I think having a lead at halftime
- 1:27:37Speaker 2: is so crucial. Obviously it depends on who gets the
- 1:27:39Speaker 2: ball after half, but all things being equal, I think
- 1:27:42Speaker 2: I trust Donald.
- 1:27:44Speaker 4: What do you mean he has to do less?
- 1:27:47Speaker 22: You?
- 1:27:48Speaker 7: The question started off if they fall behind, who would
- 1:27:51Speaker 7: who would you trust more if they had to carry
- 1:27:53Speaker 7: the load. Then he said, I trust Donald Moore having
- 1:27:56Speaker 7: to carry the load because he would be asked to
- 1:27:58Speaker 7: do less. Well, he's not carrying a load, right if
- 1:28:01Speaker 7: you're asked to carry the load.
- 1:28:02Speaker 6: I take that as the second load is lighter.
- 1:28:04Speaker 7: You're chasing points, right, Yeah, So that means I would
- 1:28:07Speaker 7: I would trust May in that situation because I think
- 1:28:10Speaker 7: he's carried the offense periodically throughout the season, and I
- 1:28:14Speaker 7: don't think Donald.
- 1:28:14Speaker 6: Really has been asked to do that a lot.
- 1:28:16Speaker 7: Now he has sometimes, but wouldn't you feel better about
- 1:28:20Speaker 7: May in that kind of a situation.
- 1:28:21Speaker 5: I think so, especially if his downfield accuracy is clicking
- 1:28:24Speaker 5: and he's able to chuck a fifty yard bomb for
- 1:28:27Speaker 5: a score right off the bat.
- 1:28:28Speaker 2: So, not knowing, like you know, the details of all
- 1:28:31Speaker 2: the Seattle wins this week, how many times has Donald
- 1:28:34Speaker 2: had to win the game for the team.
- 1:28:37Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 1:28:38Speaker 7: Yeah, I don't know, but you know, it's hard to
- 1:28:41Speaker 7: just say that without knowing how many sounds is May
- 1:28:43Speaker 7: had to win.
- 1:28:45Speaker 3: Two or three?
- 1:28:47Speaker 6: Right, I'd say one?
- 1:28:48Speaker 8: One?
- 1:28:49Speaker 6: But that's a testament to how good the Patriots have been.
- 1:28:51Speaker 6: They haven't had to chase.
- 1:28:52Speaker 3: All that often.
- 1:28:53Speaker 7: Yeah, Baltimore, Baltimore, the yeah, you know, the Buffalo game
- 1:28:57Speaker 7: to me was tied, like so it wasn't like that desperation. Now,
- 1:29:02Speaker 7: So even if he wanted to include that, that's two.
- 1:29:06Speaker 7: The Patriots have had the lead in an enormous percentage
- 1:29:11Speaker 7: of the season. Right, They're leading at the half of
- 1:29:15Speaker 7: almost every game. They're leading going through the fourth quarter
- 1:29:17Speaker 7: of almost every game because they were a good team.
- 1:29:20Speaker 2: But even in the playoffs, where we all know that
- 1:29:25Speaker 2: Drake hasn't played that great, the plays that the Patriots
- 1:29:29Speaker 2: had to have, even though like they were only three
- 1:29:32Speaker 2: against the Texas, May made them, you know, with his legs.
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: Against Denver, he made the plays and without him they
- 1:29:40Speaker 2: probably wouldn't have won any.
- 1:29:41Speaker 3: Of those games.
- 1:29:42Speaker 2: They won the Denver game even though like he hasn't
- 1:29:45Speaker 2: had great statistic games, He's made the plays that won
- 1:29:49Speaker 2: the game.
- 1:29:50Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean I would largely agree with that, but
- 1:29:52Speaker 7: they would have won those games like without May, like
- 1:29:57Speaker 7: especially the Denver game. Mike, a quarterback to Denver game,
- 1:30:00Speaker 7: wanted I appreciate that. Wait, I mean they put seven
- 1:30:03Speaker 7: on the board for you, right, I mean that's all
- 1:30:06Speaker 7: you needed.
- 1:30:07Speaker 3: But you know to get that, Oh, we need to
- 1:30:11Speaker 3: get Jerry.
- 1:30:11Speaker 6: He's not going to come on.
- 1:30:13Speaker 3: I want him to come on.
- 1:30:15Speaker 6: I want no yes, no, no, no, no, I'm far
- 1:30:20Speaker 6: too modest.
- 1:30:20Speaker 21: No what.
- 1:30:26Speaker 2: So Jerry Madelon is here he's our talent coach, and
- 1:30:30Speaker 2: I want to just con just come over here.
- 1:30:33Speaker 3: Yeah, Alice, give him howar's get out? Sit down? Sit down,
- 1:30:41Speaker 3: sit down, sit down.
- 1:30:44Speaker 6: Text him the whole day.
- 1:30:45Speaker 4: And you want I don't drink my water in the chair.
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: So Jerry Madelon said, Jerry is uh a talent coach
- 1:30:52Speaker 2: to like everybody you know on ESPN. And and you
- 1:30:57Speaker 2: discovered Stewart scott unbelievable story. Yeah, by hi, boys, you
- 1:31:06Speaker 2: know you give us tips, you coach us. So my
- 1:31:09Speaker 2: first question is how disappointed are you and us? Because
- 1:31:13Speaker 2: you know, no, I'm only I'm only kidding what is
- 1:31:16Speaker 2: going on there? Because I want, Oh, for God's sake,
- 1:31:23Speaker 2: I coach you guys. Okay, all right, okay, you must
- 1:31:26Speaker 2: be really disappointed. We're like your worst students.
- 1:31:30Speaker 42: I have never worked with a group more hungry, more ah,
- 1:31:37Speaker 42: more passionate about what can I do better?
- 1:31:39Speaker 39: How can I tell this story better?
- 1:31:40Speaker 42: How can I take the audience to a place they
- 1:31:43Speaker 42: can't get without me the story?
- 1:31:47Speaker 39: Oh my gosh.
- 1:31:47Speaker 2: If no, you're great, I mean, like you know, these
- 1:31:51Speaker 2: guys will do an interview and then Jerry will send
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: them the interview with his little head there, like stopping
- 1:31:57Speaker 2: at certain moments and saying, Okay, this is you did
- 1:31:59Speaker 2: really good here, this is what you could have done
- 1:32:01Speaker 2: better here.
- 1:32:02Speaker 3: It's so it's really helpful.
- 1:32:03Speaker 42: Well, I mean, one of the things I try to
- 1:32:05Speaker 42: do is figure out what needs to be said. Then
- 1:32:09Speaker 42: houses being need to be communicated. So sometimes it might
- 1:32:13Speaker 42: be a quick text, sometimes an email. Sometimes it's a
- 1:32:17Speaker 42: phone call or a zoomer. But also I'm thinking, how
- 1:32:21Speaker 42: can I make sure that.
- 1:32:25Speaker 3: Up?
- 1:32:26Speaker 4: Oh now, watching The Master, I love it.
- 1:32:30Speaker 6: I love it.
- 1:32:31Speaker 39: I don't like the mic coming across the mouth.
- 1:32:34Speaker 42: So I'm sure the viewers couldn't care because right now
- 1:32:36Speaker 42: most of them are going break time.
- 1:32:38Speaker 2: No no, no.
- 1:32:39Speaker 42: But anyhow, what you were describing was when I'm on
- 1:32:41Speaker 42: screen with whatever I'm evaluing, so people would see you
- 1:32:46Speaker 42: and then there's a bubble with me, and I'm like,
- 1:32:48Speaker 42: right here, Fred, that's where I needed an example. Deuce
- 1:32:52Speaker 42: that's a football term. Most of the audience does not
- 1:32:55Speaker 42: know what you're talking about, Paul, I need you to
- 1:33:01Speaker 42: use a better, stronger statement qualifier instead of I think,
- 1:33:05Speaker 42: say I believe I know, or just be declarative. So
- 1:33:09Speaker 42: it's so much fun, and it's stuff that I wish
- 1:33:12Speaker 42: I knew to get into this business.
- 1:33:14Speaker 39: Totally random, totally well.
- 1:33:17Speaker 42: I got into sports in the second grade, where I
- 1:33:21Speaker 42: made a declaration to my friends. I said, I just
- 1:33:24Speaker 42: want to be a sportscaster. When I got to college,
- 1:33:27Speaker 42: I went to University of Buffalo and.
- 1:33:29Speaker 3: Sorry about that.
- 1:33:30Speaker 42: Well, you know, you got to go somewhere, and look,
- 1:33:32Speaker 42: there's only so many places in this you're going to
- 1:33:34Speaker 42: take Harvard said no, oh, I never applied.
- 1:33:37Speaker 39: So anyhow, when I got.
- 1:33:39Speaker 42: To college, I realized I wasn't that good at the
- 1:33:42Speaker 42: time getting from what was in my head out of
- 1:33:46Speaker 42: my mouth.
- 1:33:46Speaker 39: So there's a cliche those who can't teach and those.
- 1:33:51Speaker 3: Who can't teach teach.
- 1:33:52Speaker 6: Jim, I am just the second part of it.
- 1:33:56Speaker 39: I am not going there.
- 1:33:58Speaker 6: So I have a really good friend that I used
- 1:34:00Speaker 6: all the time.
- 1:34:01Speaker 39: So I just ran.
- 1:34:03Speaker 42: When I got to ESPN in nineteen eighty eight and
- 1:34:06Speaker 42: I was a productionistis just working my way up, just randomly.
- 1:34:11Speaker 42: There was an open position in the talent office, and
- 1:34:15Speaker 42: when I heard about it, I went to my boss
- 1:34:18Speaker 42: who was in the meeting when it was brought up,
- 1:34:21Speaker 42: and I asked him. I said, I think it's a
- 1:34:24Speaker 42: good idea If I go for that, what do you think?
- 1:34:28Speaker 42: And he paused and he goes, bad idea.
- 1:34:29Speaker 3: I go really, he.
- 1:34:30Speaker 42: Goes, no, wait a second. You're really good with the talent.
- 1:34:35Speaker 42: You have a really good manner in terms of knowing
- 1:34:40Speaker 42: how to criticize the performance without criticizing the performer, and
- 1:34:46Speaker 42: you understand not to effusively give praise make sure you.
- 1:34:51Speaker 39: Always have evidence as well. So I just got into it. Yeah,
- 1:34:55Speaker 39: and people responded.
- 1:34:58Speaker 42: And then when I left ESPN, I was like, all right,
- 1:35:01Speaker 42: how do I figure out how to do this as
- 1:35:03Speaker 42: a business? And then I branched out to the dark side,
- 1:35:06Speaker 42: as I call it, and I do the media training.
- 1:35:08Speaker 42: So all the guys, the coaches, the gms, the players
- 1:35:12Speaker 42: who don't give you substantive answers, but do it in
- 1:35:14Speaker 42: a engaging way. That's my fault. And I don't apologize.
- 1:35:19Speaker 42: And I work on a lot of speeches as well.
- 1:35:22Speaker 42: So if Larry Fitzgerald gets into the Hall of Fame,
- 1:35:25Speaker 42: I already have started that framework.
- 1:35:27Speaker 2: And no, I mean it's impressed, Like you walk around
- 1:35:31Speaker 2: and everybody knows you, you know everybody, it's so impressive.
- 1:35:35Speaker 3: I'm trying to be able to do that no, you
- 1:35:37Speaker 3: know no, I'm serious, like as am I trying. You're great,
- 1:35:40Speaker 3: You're like the master.
- 1:35:43Speaker 2: I mentioned the story about Stuart Scott and a show
- 1:35:45Speaker 2: who worked with you at ESPN, who works with the
- 1:35:48Speaker 2: Pagots now told me about this, but I'd love to
- 1:35:51Speaker 2: hear it from you.
- 1:35:52Speaker 42: It's it's an amazing story about randomness doing the right
- 1:35:57Speaker 42: thing just because it's the right thing to do.
- 1:36:01Speaker 39: So the story, how much time do we have?
- 1:36:04Speaker 3: Well, we're good.
- 1:36:07Speaker 42: Because I actually have different versions of length. I don't
- 1:36:10Speaker 42: have a twenty three minute version of it. So I
- 1:36:14Speaker 42: was working on a documentary on Shaquille O'Neill's rookie season
- 1:36:19Speaker 42: in Orlando. I was a feature producer for ESPN at
- 1:36:23Speaker 42: the time, and I was down in Orlando for about
- 1:36:26Speaker 42: a month, and I was interviewing everybody. If you had
- 1:36:30Speaker 42: a mouth, I had a mic, and I got some
- 1:36:34Speaker 42: real gems. I remember interviewing one of the cleaning guys
- 1:36:38Speaker 42: who brought up to me how I was asking about
- 1:36:40Speaker 42: the difference when Shack was not there when he got there,
- 1:36:45Speaker 42: and he said, we had to get a new trash
- 1:36:48Speaker 42: dolly in order to get all the garbage out on
- 1:36:51Speaker 42: time because so many more people are coming to the games.
- 1:36:54Speaker 42: So I was like, oh, that's going in there somewhere,
- 1:36:58Speaker 42: so I kept running into It was in the media room.
- 1:37:01Speaker 42: One guy seemed like a good guy. I was like,
- 1:37:03Speaker 42: all right, let me ask him for an interview. So
- 1:37:06Speaker 42: I asked him for an interview. He said yes, and
- 1:37:09Speaker 42: we did the interview. He was okay, We shook hands,
- 1:37:12Speaker 42: he walked away, and about a minute later, I feel
- 1:37:16Speaker 42: a tap on my shoulder and it's that guy who
- 1:37:18Speaker 42: I interviewed, and he said, who do I send a
- 1:37:21Speaker 42: tape to to get looked at. I said, I don't know.
- 1:37:23Speaker 39: Send it to me.
- 1:37:24Speaker 42: I said, I'll look at it and if it's any good,
- 1:37:27Speaker 42: I'll walk it into the guy's office who looks at
- 1:37:31Speaker 42: tapes because he would get so many, and that was
- 1:37:33Speaker 42: back in the day with tapes sure that he wouldn't
- 1:37:37Speaker 42: be able to so I at least could offer that
- 1:37:40Speaker 42: as long as I had the evidence that it was
- 1:37:42Speaker 42: worth his time. Two weeks later, I get the tape.
- 1:37:45Speaker 42: I look at it and I go, huh, this one's
- 1:37:48Speaker 42: a little different. My wife, Brenda was working at ESPN
- 1:37:52Speaker 42: at the time, and I went over to her area
- 1:37:54Speaker 42: and I said, if you look at this, I go,
- 1:37:56Speaker 42: what do you think? And Brenda said I like it.
- 1:37:59Speaker 42: I go me too, and said I'm gonna go walk
- 1:38:02Speaker 42: it up to Al. So I go to Al Jaffes's office.
- 1:38:04Speaker 42: Al was the talent executive at the time, and I
- 1:38:07Speaker 42: walked into his office and I said, Al, you may
- 1:38:11Speaker 42: want to look at this one. This one's a little different, which,
- 1:38:15Speaker 42: by the way, in the documentary had it wrong.
- 1:38:17Speaker 3: What made it different.
- 1:38:18Speaker 42: He infused personality and had an amazing ability to not
- 1:38:27Speaker 42: make it about himself while putting himself into what he did,
- 1:38:32Speaker 42: the passion having fun but not taking away from others.
- 1:38:38Speaker 42: He was a really amazing teammate. So it was just
- 1:38:44Speaker 42: something I had never seen before. So I walked it
- 1:38:47Speaker 42: in Al. And then about two months later, I'm at
- 1:38:50Speaker 42: my desk and I see from a distance the guy's
- 1:38:54Speaker 42: getting a tour.
- 1:38:55Speaker 39: So some how's it going?
- 1:38:56Speaker 42: Blah blah blah. I said, good luck. Six months later
- 1:38:59Speaker 42: I looked at the talent schedule and there was his name,
- 1:39:02Speaker 42: Stuart Scott. And from there we just always looked out
- 1:39:08Speaker 42: for each other. And I mean what he went through first,
- 1:39:14Speaker 42: guy through the wall, and anything in life gets bloodied,
- 1:39:18Speaker 42: and the stories that are not told and it's just
- 1:39:22Speaker 42: what he endured, using that cliche betting on yourself. But
- 1:39:28Speaker 42: he just was willing to be different, and he had
- 1:39:31Speaker 42: one quality that I wish I had more of. He
- 1:39:36Speaker 42: was willing to be silly. We don't have enough silly
- 1:39:40Speaker 42: in the world, and willing to just put yourself out
- 1:39:46Speaker 42: there and make others look better as well. So I
- 1:39:50Speaker 42: miss him every single day. He's with me every day.
- 1:39:52Speaker 42: In fact, if anyone sees videos that I send from
- 1:39:55Speaker 42: my home, I always had Stuart's back at ESPN and
- 1:40:00Speaker 42: behind me. I have a picture of Stewart, a portrait
- 1:40:04Speaker 42: to signify and symbolize that he always has mine. And
- 1:40:07Speaker 42: so it just but it wasn't more than just doing
- 1:40:12Speaker 42: the right thing by someone and I hit. I hit
- 1:40:17Speaker 42: on it, and I'm very lucky. I always made sure
- 1:40:21Speaker 42: that I made clear I was it's not wasn't my
- 1:40:25Speaker 42: boo yah, it wasn't My cool is the other side
- 1:40:27Speaker 42: of the pillow. But there were times where I had
- 1:40:30Speaker 42: to Sarah, look, I need to talk to you about this,
- 1:40:32Speaker 42: this and this. So you know, my father used to
- 1:40:35Speaker 42: always say, you know you call you and call me
- 1:40:37Speaker 42: at work and say you know how Stuart doing and
- 1:40:40Speaker 42: I go, he's doing fine.
- 1:40:42Speaker 39: Uh you know what he owes you? I said, Dad,
- 1:40:45Speaker 39: he knows.
- 1:40:46Speaker 42: And what's nice is that once I had asked him
- 1:40:49Speaker 42: if you would record a kind of a peppa like
- 1:40:52Speaker 42: a hype video or something message for my daughter's Molly's
- 1:40:56Speaker 42: middle school. They were going through these Connecticut and Mastery
- 1:40:58Speaker 42: tests and so he was willing to record it. I
- 1:41:02Speaker 42: had to script him prompter and he stewed it up.
- 1:41:05Speaker 42: He gave Molly, my daughter, a couple of shout outs,
- 1:41:08Speaker 42: went over like a big hit. And I called him
- 1:41:11Speaker 42: afterwards and I said, Stu, thank you for doing that.
- 1:41:16Speaker 42: I am a big hit with especially my daughter. And
- 1:41:19Speaker 42: he has two daughters, and I said, you know how
- 1:41:22Speaker 42: hard it is to be in good standing with your daughters.
- 1:41:25Speaker 42: And I said, so I owe you and I'm going
- 1:41:28Speaker 42: to pay you back. And he goes, what are you
- 1:41:30Speaker 42: going to do? I said, I'm going to call my
- 1:41:32Speaker 42: father and I'm going to tell him worry.
- 1:41:35Speaker 3: Even Aha, that's good.
- 1:41:37Speaker 39: Wait yeah, and Stuart said we're not even close.
- 1:41:41Speaker 18: Wow.
- 1:41:42Speaker 3: Yeah, good guy.
- 1:41:43Speaker 39: And I didn't I didn't start crying.
- 1:41:45Speaker 42: I always because but I mean, I just try to
- 1:41:49Speaker 42: embody what he taught me and what he does for me,
- 1:41:52Speaker 42: and really think about this, and this.
- 1:41:55Speaker 39: Is just so sobering for me. Just a nice gesture.
- 1:41:59Speaker 42: Granted I have an expertise, it's the only thing I'm
- 1:42:01Speaker 42: good at, and I know and I just saw something
- 1:42:06Speaker 42: and how that one gesture not only changed his life,
- 1:42:10Speaker 42: my life, it changed his family's life, It changed the industry,
- 1:42:16Speaker 42: and it changed the fortunes of a race of people
- 1:42:19Speaker 42: who finally were like, that's my guy.
- 1:42:22Speaker 3: And to be part of that, that's unbelievable story.
- 1:42:28Speaker 4: It's how lucky am I?
- 1:42:30Speaker 3: Its cool?
- 1:42:31Speaker 7: And then there was I don't know if people realized
- 1:42:33Speaker 7: there was the documentary on Stuart and as part of
- 1:42:36Speaker 7: that they tell the story a little bit, yes, of
- 1:42:38Speaker 7: you being intimately involved in sort of discovering him.
- 1:42:41Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:42:42Speaker 39: And I couldn't make it the days they were doing
- 1:42:45Speaker 39: the interviews, but you know what, it was very nice.
- 1:42:47Speaker 6: He was probably meeting with Deuce because that's that takes
- 1:42:50Speaker 6: a long time.
- 1:42:52Speaker 39: My pleasure.
- 1:42:54Speaker 4: I think I need a lot of work.
- 1:42:56Speaker 42: We just need fewer statements posing his quest multiple questions.
- 1:43:02Speaker 42: It's okay, you know what, the ringing, but the passion
- 1:43:06Speaker 42: part I always say when it comes to mistakes, that
- 1:43:10Speaker 42: and they're not huge mistakes, but they're just not best practices.
- 1:43:14Speaker 42: That passion may not be a disinfectant and performance, but
- 1:43:19Speaker 42: if you're passionate, it's a hell of a de orderance.
- 1:43:22Speaker 39: And so I mean, you're not hurting on the passion
- 1:43:25Speaker 39: meter right there.
- 1:43:26Speaker 40: But no.
- 1:43:28Speaker 6: Problems with that on this show.
- 1:43:30Speaker 7: But I know people are going to be listening and
- 1:43:32Speaker 7: they're going to be stunned because the one thing that
- 1:43:33Speaker 7: Jerry says to me all the time is don't say
- 1:43:36Speaker 7: I think, say I believe, as if you guys, I'm
- 1:43:41Speaker 7: gonna look at my one like Fred likes to do,
- 1:43:43Speaker 7: as if you guys don't know what's on my mind
- 1:43:47Speaker 7: at all times when I'm speaking. Jerry wants me to
- 1:43:50Speaker 7: be a little bit more declarative with my thoughts and opinions.
- 1:43:54Speaker 6: Sure, because some hedge, somehow someone doesn't know what I'm
- 1:43:58Speaker 6: really thinking.
- 1:44:00Speaker 42: It's amazing how much I teach that. I use it too,
- 1:44:04Speaker 42: and because I have to model the behaviors as well.
- 1:44:08Speaker 42: It's like it's like if you go to get in
- 1:44:10Speaker 42: shape and you get a trainer and the trainer is
- 1:44:13Speaker 42: one hundred pounds over, well, you're like, well, why aren't
- 1:44:15Speaker 42: you listening?
- 1:44:15Speaker 39: To you, why would I listen?
- 1:44:17Speaker 3: Or your therapist is more screwed up than you are.
- 1:44:20Speaker 42: Absolutely so, it's it's but how illuminating it has been
- 1:44:26Speaker 42: for people and pointing that out where it's like, look
- 1:44:29Speaker 42: if you if you believe it, own it and if
- 1:44:33Speaker 42: it's something that you've got to be careful and to
- 1:44:36Speaker 42: have you all right, but you're allowed to believe it.
- 1:44:39Speaker 42: And there are plant times for those statement qualifiers. I'm
- 1:44:41Speaker 42: sorry to make this a science class, but I love
- 1:44:44Speaker 42: the subject.
- 1:44:45Speaker 38: It is a science part partly yeah, oh it's a
- 1:44:48Speaker 38: it's a science and it's an art. It's more art
- 1:44:50Speaker 38: than it is science. But you got to know the
- 1:44:53Speaker 38: science if you want to be effective in communication.
- 1:44:56Speaker 2: And one of those you start a school because there's
- 1:44:59Speaker 2: a lot of young kids that would love to be
- 1:45:02Speaker 2: in the business, but they don't know where to get
- 1:45:05Speaker 2: the coaching because there's not really a lot of people
- 1:45:07Speaker 2: doing really good coaching.
- 1:45:09Speaker 42: It's it's definitely something that takes training. And I'm talking
- 1:45:14Speaker 42: about the coaching part. I work on it all the
- 1:45:17Speaker 42: time and more importantly sizing up the people I coach
- 1:45:21Speaker 42: as well, because I have to think about what needs
- 1:45:26Speaker 42: to be said and I don't mind being critical as
- 1:45:29Speaker 42: long as I have the evidence. But how does it
- 1:45:31Speaker 42: need to be said? What's their mental state? I have
- 1:45:34Speaker 42: a background in psychology, so a lot of times I'm like,
- 1:45:37Speaker 42: let me figure you out here, so then everything else
- 1:45:41Speaker 42: from there, sure we can handle. But you know what,
- 1:45:44Speaker 42: I never thought ten years ago I would be doing
- 1:45:48Speaker 42: my own thing. And it's hard.
- 1:45:51Speaker 3: It's hard.
- 1:45:52Speaker 39: Oh, there's no but working corporate, it's hard to it's
- 1:45:56Speaker 39: not the corporate that you and I grew up with.
- 1:45:58Speaker 42: Oh yeah, so it's But when you love something, it
- 1:46:03Speaker 42: it's like fine, I believe it's a blessing.
- 1:46:08Speaker 39: When you find the torture that you love.
- 1:46:11Speaker 42: Yeah, that even if it doesn't make sense and that
- 1:46:14Speaker 42: it's just it's torture, but.
- 1:46:15Speaker 39: I love it.
- 1:46:16Speaker 2: You love and get paid for it. That's half the bat.
- 1:46:19Speaker 2: And you've solved life. And seeing how this is.
- 1:46:24Speaker 42: This is practical in everything in life. That communication is
- 1:46:27Speaker 42: a part of every vocation, every situation. And I mean, look,
- 1:46:33Speaker 42: anyone married knows that it's like, this is what I
- 1:46:36Speaker 42: want to say. Does it need to be said? Does
- 1:46:39Speaker 42: this need to be said now? Does this need to
- 1:46:41Speaker 42: be said now by me? And does it need to
- 1:46:44Speaker 42: be said now by me, But how do I need
- 1:46:47Speaker 42: to say it? And by that time you've pretty much
- 1:46:49Speaker 42: have put yourself out of it and.
- 1:46:50Speaker 3: Get into marriage counseling as well. It just started a
- 1:46:53Speaker 3: new line of business, all right, Jared, everybody, wake up.
- 1:46:58Speaker 3: Thank you for coming by. I decided to sit down.
- 1:47:01Speaker 42: Look, if it meant anything, I love you, guys, and
- 1:47:04Speaker 42: I don't say that with anything other than the deepest
- 1:47:08Speaker 42: I mean. I am so fortunate to get to do
- 1:47:11Speaker 42: what I do with the people I get to do
- 1:47:13Speaker 42: it with, and I just I don't know why I
- 1:47:17Speaker 42: am God's favorite idiot, but thank you God for allowing me.
- 1:47:21Speaker 42: All right, Thank you, guys, Thank you.
- 1:47:23Speaker 2: Jerry Madelon. Everybody, all right, let's take a break. We'll
- 1:47:27Speaker 2: come with our final segment right after this.

- 1:47:59Speaker 18: Switch.
- 1:48:02Speaker 26: Let there be ideas too big to stay, ideas and
- 1:48:07Speaker 26: the software to make them sore.
- 1:48:10Speaker 27: Let there be anything. Autodesk The future.
- 1:48:16Speaker 28: With AI will twist unturned. Cisco is the critical infrastructure for.
- 1:48:22Speaker 33: The AI era, clearing your path to wide open possibility.
- 1:48:28Speaker 21: Cisco Duncan's five dollar meal deal, a yummy wake up rap,
- 1:48:36Speaker 21: a medium liestar hot coffee, and six Crispy Golden Patch Browns.
- 1:48:42Speaker 29: Duncan's five dollar meal deal a deal for everyone.
- 1:48:45Speaker 30: It ain't my dad's razor, Dave, Hey watch it. It's
- 1:48:47Speaker 30: from to let Lapse. This green bar releases trapped hairs
- 1:48:50Speaker 30: from my face. Game change well a flex this contours
- 1:48:53Speaker 30: to it, so the five blades can get virtually every

- 1:49:00Speaker 22: We had a crime stopper tip come in.
- 1:49:03Speaker 18: We walked into a real one tonight.

- 1:49:08Speaker 31: might want this money?
- 1:49:10Speaker 18: Cartel, dirty cops?
- 1:49:12Speaker 25: Where do you want to start? It gonna be so
- 1:49:22Speaker 25: much easier.
- 1:49:23Speaker 18: We just stole this money.
- 1:49:24Speaker 22: I sawear to god.
- 1:49:49Speaker 1: This is Patriot's Unfiltered, presented by Toyota's official website.
- 1:49:53Speaker 34: For deals, buy a Toyota dot com.
- 1:49:58Speaker 2: All right back here on Patriots Film could lie from
- 1:50:00Speaker 2: Radio Row where we're rounding out the day. Here.
- 1:50:04Speaker 3: That was Jerry Madalon. Want to thank him for stopping by.
- 1:50:07Speaker 2: But right now we've got Alex Barth from ninety eight
- 1:50:10Speaker 2: point five, but more importantly co host of Catch twenty two.
- 1:50:13Speaker 2: Right with Evan Lazarre Alex, thanks for stopping by taking it,
- 1:50:17Speaker 2: taking a minute.
- 1:50:18Speaker 10: What do you guys doing Catch twenty two tomorrow? I
- 1:50:22Speaker 10: think it is that four four six for Pacific y
- 1:50:28Speaker 10: four to six, okay.
- 1:50:29Speaker 6: Seven to nine.
- 1:50:29Speaker 43: Yeah, we're doing a little late late edition Catch twenty
- 1:50:32Speaker 43: two after dark kind of thing.
- 1:50:33Speaker 2: Okay, so it's seven to nine sexy. Oh, it's gonna
- 1:50:36Speaker 2: be three hours, two hours, two hours, seven to nine.
- 1:50:40Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:50:40Speaker 2: So okay, So Catch twenty two fans, you're gonna catch
- 1:50:43Speaker 2: at tomorrow at seven o'clock Eastern time.
- 1:50:46Speaker 3: So, Barth.
- 1:50:47Speaker 2: The reason why we had to have you on is
- 1:50:49Speaker 2: one of our listeners reminded me of a promise that
- 1:50:51Speaker 2: I made, and the promise was that if the Patriots
- 1:50:56Speaker 2: get to the super Bowl.
- 1:50:57Speaker 3: I would.
- 1:51:00Speaker 2: Buy you a woman, lady, a lady. So I want
- 1:51:05Speaker 2: to know you want blonde, white, black, come up, whatever
- 1:51:11Speaker 2: you want.
- 1:51:12Speaker 35: What is the backstory here?
- 1:51:14Speaker 2: No, it's just I don't know, because Evan was saying that,
- 1:51:16Speaker 2: you know, he doesn't have as much time for you
- 1:51:18Speaker 2: now that he's married, and and he's guilty about that.
- 1:51:22Speaker 35: You know, I think I see Evan just as much
- 1:51:24Speaker 35: now as I did, Is that right, yeah.
- 1:51:26Speaker 2: But but you tell me, tell me where you're staying,
- 1:51:29Speaker 2: and I'll have somebody to show up. I'll give you
- 1:51:32Speaker 2: off the air, all right, we'll take care of that
- 1:51:35Speaker 2: so long.
- 1:51:35Speaker 6: She's like, do you really just want to throttle Evan?
- 1:51:38Speaker 7: You know, like when you guys are because he's oft times.
- 1:51:41Speaker 7: Mike and I talk about this all the time. He's
- 1:51:42Speaker 7: not very nice to you.
- 1:51:43Speaker 6: No, he's not, he's not.
- 1:51:45Speaker 4: This is my impression of every every time you say
- 1:51:47Speaker 4: something is Evan goes.
- 1:51:49Speaker 3: He's not nice to anyone.
- 1:51:51Speaker 6: He's nice to me, and.
- 1:51:53Speaker 2: He's got the social skills of the crocodile. I mean,
- 1:51:56Speaker 2: you know, I mean he's just snapped your head off
- 1:51:58Speaker 2: if he doesn't agree with you.
- 1:52:00Speaker 43: I think if if you have two people that agree
- 1:52:03Speaker 43: on a lot, that agree all the time, it's not
- 1:52:05Speaker 43: very entertaining radio. I would and I think it is
- 1:52:08Speaker 43: better if that back and forth is not manufactured, If
- 1:52:12Speaker 43: that's if that's genuine, it's it's and and it's it's
- 1:52:17Speaker 43: been like I think when I started working with him.
- 1:52:20Speaker 43: I don't know if you guys know the story. I've
- 1:52:22Speaker 43: told the story on the other place. So see, I
- 1:52:24Speaker 43: had worked for CLNS. They're like, oh, do you want
- 1:52:26Speaker 43: we got credential? Do you want to cover the Patriots?
- 1:52:27Speaker 6: And I was like yeah.
- 1:52:28Speaker 43: And the second day of training camp, Evan comes in
- 1:52:30Speaker 43: out of nowhere and there's like, oh, Evan's going to
- 1:52:32Speaker 43: be the main guy, and I was like, wow, Okay,
- 1:52:35Speaker 43: that's great.
- 1:52:35Speaker 5: I you know, right from the start arrivalok, it's like,
- 1:52:40Speaker 5: what's all coming together?
- 1:52:41Speaker 35: What's what's the tom the true bloods alone?
- 1:52:43Speaker 43: I look forward to competing and like, but like a
- 1:52:47Speaker 43: week into it, we just we just hit it off
- 1:52:49Speaker 43: and yeah, there was you know, I think we a
- 1:52:52Speaker 43: lot of it's nuanced.
- 1:52:53Speaker 3: That's a lot of it is.
- 1:52:54Speaker 35: We agree on things, but we don't agree in the
- 1:52:56Speaker 35: same way.
- 1:52:57Speaker 3: Well it's like me and Paul.
- 1:52:58Speaker 35: Yeah, yeah, it is been our commenters have compared it
- 1:53:01Speaker 35: to that.
- 1:53:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:53:02Speaker 43: So, but I I think that's what makes it good
- 1:53:05Speaker 43: and and we like we I think we get along
- 1:53:07Speaker 43: where it matters, like we respect each other. I respect him.
- 1:53:10Speaker 43: I guess I'll leave it up to him. You guys
- 1:53:11Speaker 43: can ask him when he's on and put him on
- 1:53:13Speaker 43: the spot. Maybe he says, no, I wouldn't put it back.
- 1:53:17Speaker 4: He's he said, He's like, I've got Jess and Barth,
- 1:53:19Speaker 4: what more do I need that?
- 1:53:23Speaker 3: That line?
- 1:53:24Speaker 35: I thought I ranked below Atlas.
- 1:53:26Speaker 7: Yeah, he has said that on countless occasions. Absolutely, I
- 1:53:29Speaker 7: thought I ranked blow Atlas.
- 1:53:31Speaker 2: So we're coming to the end here, but before we go, Alex,
- 1:53:34Speaker 2: because on this show we won't have another chance to
- 1:53:36Speaker 2: talk to what's your thoughts on the game, Like, what
- 1:53:39Speaker 2: are you looking at coming in?
- 1:53:41Speaker 3: Should the Patriots be underdogs in this game?
- 1:53:43Speaker 43: I think they should be underdogs, But I think it's close,
- 1:53:46Speaker 43: Like it's close, so it's it's definitely not a toss up.
- 1:53:48Speaker 43: I think the Seahawks have the better roster. But the
- 1:53:50Speaker 43: last couple of years in the Super Bowl, when we've
- 1:53:52Speaker 43: watched it, you know, without a without our horse and
- 1:53:55Speaker 43: the race. Every year, I look at what, what's this
- 1:53:57Speaker 43: gonna tell us? It's a copycat league? What is this
- 1:53:59Speaker 43: to Bowl gonna teach us? Going to inform us going forward?
- 1:54:02Speaker 43: In the last few years, there's been this driving narrative
- 1:54:04Speaker 43: of the better coaching quarterback, like the elite coach, elite quarterback,
- 1:54:08Speaker 43: and okay, roster not bad, but like solid versus the
- 1:54:11Speaker 43: elite roster just like up and down all fifty three,
- 1:54:15Speaker 43: but the quarterback is just kind of one of the
- 1:54:16Speaker 43: guys and not above it. And the coach isn't one
- 1:54:18Speaker 43: of these like all time coaches. Right when you had
- 1:54:21Speaker 43: the Eagles versus the Chiefs was a great example for this,
- 1:54:23Speaker 43: the Chiefs versus the the Niners. And I think this
- 1:54:27Speaker 43: is another example of that. You have Mike Rabel and
- 1:54:30Speaker 43: Drake May and those guys are both, to put it
- 1:54:32Speaker 43: very lightly, top five in the league at what they do,
- 1:54:34Speaker 43: top three. And I don't think the Patriots roster is bad.
- 1:54:36Speaker 43: I think it's solid. I think it's underrated. But the
- 1:54:39Speaker 43: Seahawks roster top to bottom is unbelievable. But Sam Donold
- 1:54:42Speaker 43: is you know, good good, not grace, not an MVP candidate.
- 1:54:46Speaker 43: And Mike McDonald is relatively new to this compared to
- 1:54:49Speaker 43: Mike Vrabel. So it's gone back and forth the team
- 1:54:51Speaker 43: versus the coaching quarterback the last few years. I like
- 1:54:54Speaker 43: the coaching quarterback, but they got to play a complete game.
- 1:54:57Speaker 43: And it's gonna be up to other guys on the roster,
- 1:54:59Speaker 43: Guys like Milton Williams, Guys like Hunter, Henry, Steph Diggs,
- 1:55:02Speaker 43: Christian Zoalz. We're gonna need they need those guys to
- 1:55:04Speaker 43: make some more of those plays, yeah, to kind of
- 1:55:06Speaker 43: level it out, but it's not unrealistic.
- 1:55:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:55:09Speaker 2: Now listen, I like I was looking at that Bills game,
- 1:55:12Speaker 2: and I think the Bills is the best team offensively
- 1:55:15Speaker 2: that the Patriots have played this year, and.
- 1:55:17Speaker 3: They were up twenty four to three on them. Yeah,
- 1:55:19Speaker 3: you just gotta finish it out.
- 1:55:20Speaker 2: And like, I think the Patriots have the offensive you know, uh,
- 1:55:25Speaker 2: power to to you know, take control of this game.
- 1:55:29Speaker 43: Yes, but you know it's like you said, it's it's
- 1:55:32Speaker 43: gonna be close. It's it's gonna be close, and it's
- 1:55:34Speaker 43: probably gonna be messy. I think both these defenses are
- 1:55:37Speaker 43: gonna have opportunities to force turnovers and you know, a
- 1:55:39Speaker 43: big special teams play. You have two of the best
- 1:55:41Speaker 43: returners in the league, Rashichi heat on one side, obviously,
- 1:55:44Speaker 43: Marcus Jones on the other. Can one of those guys
- 1:55:47Speaker 43: break the game with a big return something like that.
- 1:55:49Speaker 43: It's it's not gonna be you know a lot of
- 1:55:52Speaker 43: these Patriots drives games have been decided by all right,
- 1:55:54Speaker 43: we're gonna go on like a seven minute drive, kill
- 1:55:56Speaker 43: a bunch of clock, kick a field goal, or punch
- 1:55:57Speaker 43: it in for a touchdown. And that's gonna be the difference.
- 1:55:59Speaker 43: I don't think this game is going to be decided
- 1:56:01Speaker 43: like that. It's gonna be something a little more outside
- 1:56:03Speaker 43: the box.
- 1:56:04Speaker 2: All right, Well, Alex Barth ninety eight point five and
- 1:56:07Speaker 2: of course Catch twenty two. You guys will be on
- 1:56:09Speaker 2: tomorrow at seven o'clock Eastern time PM. Yep, okay, good stuff, Yeah,
- 1:56:15Speaker 2: it is all right.
- 1:56:15Speaker 6: God only knows what's gonna happen when he gets back
- 1:56:17Speaker 6: to his room.
- 1:56:18Speaker 2: So listen, we are big friend though. Yeah, we're gonna
- 1:56:22Speaker 2: talk about that off there.
- 1:56:23Speaker 6: All right.
- 1:56:24Speaker 2: We're gonna be back tomorrow at one o'clock Eastern time.
- 1:56:28Speaker 3: We'll be on for four hours again. Tomorrow.
- 1:56:30Speaker 2: We're gonna have more guests, more fun stuff. Who knows
- 1:56:33Speaker 2: what's gonna happen. I see doctor Chow. We're gonna talk
- 1:56:36Speaker 2: to you tomorrow. We'll talk to you tomorrow whatever time
- 1:56:39Speaker 2: you want, you.
- 1:56:40Speaker 6: Tell me you go, heare you go go booking without booking.
- 1:56:44Speaker 2: We're gonna talk to doctor Chow, who everybody knows online. Uh,
- 1:56:47Speaker 2: he's the guy that gets everybody in medical trouble. All right,
- 1:56:51Speaker 2: So we'll get him on tomorrow.
- 1:56:52Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:56:53Speaker 2: So that's it for today, Thanks for joining us. This
- 1:56:57Speaker 2: was four hours went by. I told you I have
- 1:57:00Speaker 2: no problem. Yeah, all right, so we'll talk to you tomorrow. Matt,
- 1:57:03Speaker 2: We're good, all right, See you later.
