- 0:00There is one more very significant detail that I want
- 0:07to point out that I just discovered and I want to share.
- 0:10I don't know how many people know this, but this is so cool.
- 0:13You know, I've been interested in the name of God, the personal
- 0:19name, and we know that that name is YHWH and it's the sacred four
- 0:29letter Hebrew name of God known as the Tetra Grammaton.
- 0:35In classical Hebrew theology, the letters represent the
- 0:40eternal self existent nature of God, meaning I am or he who
- 0:47causes to be. Now names have meaning and when
- 0:51God gives people new names it tells us something about them
- 0:57and it is symbolic. Their names are meaningful.
- 1:01And again, we don't know how the word is pronounced because it
- 1:07was only four letters and there were not vowels, so we don't
- 1:11really know how it's said. And the Jewish people respect
- 1:15this and they never say it because they don't want to
- 1:19misuse it. So instead they will say Hashem
- 1:24or Adonai. And but the name is so
- 1:29significant because if you do sound out those letters, it's
- 1:34almost like a breath and God is spirit.
- 1:38So it, the name does have meaning in that sense.
- 1:42But there's another sense of the meaning of the name which I just
- 1:47learned today and it's really cool.
- 1:49So I wanted to share this. So in ancient Hebrew
- 1:55pictographic writing, each letter was a symbol with a
- 1:59literal physical meaning. When combined, these symbols
- 2:03spell out a powerful traditional and prophetic message.
- 2:11So the first letter is Yod, our symbol, and that means a hand,
- 2:18the hand. So it's the symbolic meaning is
- 2:21a hand, arm or closed fist. It represents work, power,
- 2:28action or a deed done. Then the next letter or symbol
- 2:34is hey and that is the window or behold.
- 2:39The symbolic meaning a person with arms raised looking at
- 2:43something striking. It translates to behold, reveal,
- 2:49or look. And then the vav symbol that is
- 2:55the tent, peg or nail symbolic meaning a tent, peg, hook, or
- 3:01nail. It represents something that
- 3:04secures, binds, or connects things together.
- 3:09And then there's the 4th letter hey, which is the same as the
- 3:13second letter. And so again, it says the
- 3:17symbolic meaning of that is repeated again to emphasize
- 3:21revelation breath. I didn't even read this first or
- 3:25paying close attention to what has been revealed.
- 3:28So his name is like the breath. So the symbolic combination,
- 3:33when you read the ancient pictographs in sequence, they
- 3:37form the phrase hand behold, nail, behold.
- 3:44So after reading Psalm 22, think about how David was talking
- 3:50about his pierced hands and feet.
- 3:53And here is the name of the Lord, the personal name of the
- 3:57Lord saying hand behold, nail behold.
- 4:02Isn't that amazing and symbolic? And doesn't that give us more
- 4:09revelation about who God is? It's amazing.
- 4:14So I hope you found this as interesting as I did and that it
- 4:18blesses you.
