- 0:58Speaker 4: some spaghetti with the signature ground Turkey that I grew.
- 1:01Speaker 3: Up that my mom used to use signature.
- 1:04Speaker 2: I mean, I guess everybody's ground turkey now.
- 1:06Speaker 4: But we when I was growing up as a kid
- 1:08Speaker 4: in Chicago, my mom she was you know, we didn't
- 1:11Speaker 4: really eat a lot.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Of beef and pork.
- 1:13Speaker 4: So years ago, in the seventies, we ate turkey, ground turkey,
- 1:18Speaker 4: turkey bacon. So that's why my love for turkey come from.
- 1:21Speaker 4: So that's why I cook everything with not everything, but
- 1:25Speaker 4: a lot. So my spaghetti's I like that.
- 1:52Speaker 1: So while you hop up and get in the kitchen
- 1:54Speaker 1: for me, I ain't really let me tell you.
- 1:57Speaker 2: You know, I do a lot of other things good.
- 2:00Speaker 2: But see the streets, the streets.
- 2:05Speaker 3: I'm sorry, you're gonna have.
- 2:08Speaker 2: The streets. What did you say?

- 2:18Speaker 3: Are you married right now? I don't want to say that.
- 2:20Speaker 3: If you're married, I'm streets.
- 2:28Speaker 4: I was married before I was married, before the streets
- 2:32Speaker 4: you got sweat.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Streets have anything to do with the possible ending.
- 2:38Speaker 4: No, no, not that I'm a square. I'm a quiet square,
- 2:42Speaker 4: real the quiet square guy.
- 2:45Speaker 2: I'm gonna cook.
- 2:46Speaker 3: I find that hard to believe you.
- 2:48Speaker 1: You're legendary and music exact. You work with all these Southern.
- 2:52Speaker 4: Rappers and yes, so what does that have to do
- 2:56Speaker 4: with me being in the streets?
- 2:57Speaker 2: Colon.
- 2:58Speaker 1: By the end of the interview, I'm gonna we're gonna
- 3:00Speaker 1: determine if you if you was for.
- 3:02Speaker 3: The streets or if you are a square. We shall see.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Why No, But you know what, technically you can be both.
- 3:09Speaker 3: You could be that's someone that's from the streets.
- 3:12Speaker 2: But say that you could be both.
- 3:14Speaker 4: Okay, but you look, I have not to cut you
- 3:16Speaker 4: off and have some mom of wheat noodles that I
- 3:19Speaker 4: like to use.
- 3:20Speaker 3: Yeah, I noticed that you were very particular. What's up
- 3:22Speaker 3: with the wheat? I didn't even know they sold wheat
- 3:24Speaker 3: until you said wheat?
- 3:25Speaker 2: Come on calling you stop?
- 3:26Speaker 3: I was like, shit, how do you tell? I literally
- 3:27Speaker 3: looked at the noodles. I said, how do you tell
- 3:29Speaker 3: which ones are weak?
- 3:30Speaker 1: And then I saw some that look like wheat, and
- 3:32Speaker 1: then I saw some that said wheat, and I said.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Okay, Coling, you had never heard of wheat noodles.
- 3:37Speaker 3: I eat protein noodles. Have you heard of protein noodles?
- 3:41Speaker 2: Sadly, just like you got white bread, you got wheat bread.
- 3:45Speaker 2: So it's anything you can you know.
- 3:47Speaker 3: What's your obsession with these wheats? They taste better?
- 3:49Speaker 4: Nah, just like them, their little healthy And I'll eat
- 3:52Speaker 4: some mom, I'll eat someone where do U tells? I'll
- 3:54Speaker 4: eat some Mom, I'll eat some white noodles?
- 3:59Speaker 1: Okay?
- 3:59Speaker 2: Yes? Will okay?
- 4:01Speaker 1: And you know you cook all that spaghettiod for two?
- 4:06Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 4:10Speaker 3: All right almost?
- 4:11Speaker 4: Yeah, I wasna. Look, I'm I'm I'm talking and cooking
- 4:14Speaker 4: and I'm not. I never usually do that, and I
- 4:16Speaker 4: really don't cook a lot. You should, I feel very
- 4:21Speaker 4: you should. Okay, so you definitely should.
- 4:24Speaker 3: You cook it.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Take me back to what was going on during this
- 4:26Speaker 1: time of spaghetti noodles with ground turkey.
- 4:32Speaker 2: I had a very simple upbringing. Uh.
- 4:36Speaker 4: My parents were married before before my father passed in
- 4:39Speaker 4: twenty sixteen, they were married for forty five years.
- 4:42Speaker 2: So I had a good solid upbringing.
- 4:45Speaker 4: Uh, three siblings. I'm second in the pecking order, so
- 4:52Speaker 4: I watched a family, you know, growing up. My mom
- 4:58Speaker 4: was big into, well, my errands were being into you know,
- 5:01Speaker 4: having dinner. No matter what we had, whether it was
- 5:04Speaker 4: practice or you know, moving around, we had to have dinner,
- 5:08Speaker 4: whether it was five ten minutes before we you know,
- 5:10Speaker 4: every night. So all that to say, I I came
- 5:13Speaker 4: up in a in a very I'm very appreciative of
- 5:16Speaker 4: coming up in.
- 5:17Speaker 2: A very stable, solid upbringing, cause I look at shit.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Now, sh was it middle class or oh.
- 5:24Speaker 2: No, we ain't had no money?
- 5:25Speaker 4: Okay, we ain't had no money. Okay, we was in Chicago.
- 5:29Speaker 4: We moved in ox to Tennessee for a quick minute,
- 5:32Speaker 4: and then we moved down south. Well, we moved farther
- 5:34Speaker 4: south Carotlanta, Okay, And that was the best decision my
- 5:40Speaker 4: parents could haven't made, because I loved this city. It
- 5:43Speaker 4: was you know, of course, being a black mecca. I
- 5:46Speaker 4: was able to go to high school here and just
- 5:48Speaker 4: really grow okay and spread my wings. And here I
- 5:51Speaker 4: am in this great city of Atlanta City, here with you, Colad,
- 5:56Speaker 4: cooking some spaghetti with ground turkey.
- 5:59Speaker 1: Did the economics change in your family when they moved
- 6:02Speaker 1: to Atlanta?
- 6:03Speaker 4: Also, yes, yes, it did get better than Chicago. We
- 6:05Speaker 4: didn't have no money Knoxville, we didn't have no money.
- 6:08Speaker 4: But when we gave him the Atlanta things, you know,
- 6:10Speaker 4: got a lot better financially from my parents. So, of course,
- 6:13Speaker 4: you know that made a big difference.
- 6:15Speaker 3: Were your parents in the industry in any capacity.
- 6:18Speaker 2: No, no.
- 6:18Speaker 4: But my uncle was the late Gray Stanley Bethel was
- 6:24Speaker 4: He was in the music business, and that was my
- 6:27Speaker 4: first foray into the music business cause he used to
- 6:30Speaker 4: take me to the different conventions, the Jack the Rapper conventions,
- 6:33Speaker 4: br conventions, Impact, and I just fell in love with
- 6:39Speaker 4: to be honest, I first fell in love with the
- 6:40Speaker 4: glamory and the glitz of just being in the mix
- 6:44Speaker 4: and being around him. He taught me a lot because
- 6:48Speaker 4: he was in the industry for years, and he used
- 6:51Speaker 4: to tell me, and I got to see it from
- 6:52Speaker 4: myself that this shit is very fickle and phony, but
- 6:57Speaker 4: you have to find something to.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Keep you grounded.
- 7:00Speaker 3: What did he mean by that?
- 7:02Speaker 4: Like that you're going to bet a lot of people
- 7:05Speaker 4: that are phoning in a three dollar fucking bill in
- 7:08Speaker 4: this music business. And I've been surrounded by those type
- 7:12Speaker 4: unethical phony people, not all of them, because I know
- 7:15Speaker 4: some great individuals that are like family to me now.
- 7:19Speaker 2: But this industry, unfortunately, it has been very fit when
- 7:21Speaker 2: it's very phone. To this day, it still lives. But
- 7:24Speaker 2: I learned the maneuver, run maneuver.
- 7:26Speaker 4: You know I have you know, I have three kids,
- 7:28Speaker 4: So having a family and being grounded with a solid
- 7:32Speaker 4: you know, I tend to think that I'm a very
- 7:34Speaker 4: spiritual person.
- 7:35Speaker 3: So what what kept you grounded?
- 7:38Speaker 2: My family? My kids, your.
- 7:40Speaker 3: Kids, and your wife and all that at the time. Yeah,
- 7:43Speaker 3: my kids, okay, your kids.
- 7:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:45Speaker 1: And then what was like your first encounter with the
- 7:47Speaker 1: phony and the fake, Like.
- 7:49Speaker 3: What was your very first like oh shit, like reality check.
- 7:54Speaker 4: I don't remember one incident, but just the fact that,
- 7:57Speaker 4: like you're meeting people and go to meeting people say hey, Colleen,
- 8:00Speaker 4: this is what we go do.
- 8:01Speaker 2: We're go do this deal. Let's say blah, let's handshake
- 8:04Speaker 2: on it. Then you don't never hear from him again.
- 8:08Speaker 3: Oh I don't like that.
- 8:08Speaker 4: It should always bugged me out, like why would we
- 8:11Speaker 4: go through all this shit and talk about this and
- 8:15Speaker 4: say we're going to do something.
- 8:17Speaker 2: If we can't do it, just say, hey, man, something happen,
- 8:20Speaker 2: We're not gonna be able to do this deal right
- 8:21Speaker 2: now or the.
- 8:22Speaker 4: Budget change that but just disappeared that shit is that
- 8:25Speaker 4: shit is whack. Yeah, that shit is whack.
- 8:28Speaker 2: This shit is whack. So it wasn't just Coleen, It
- 8:31Speaker 2: wasn't just one incident. It was really numerous ones.
- 8:34Speaker 4: Because I came I started interning at two labels. This
- 8:39Speaker 4: was ninety three ninety four, so in those early nineties,
- 8:47Speaker 4: of course, the game was way different than what it
- 8:49Speaker 4: is now. So I came in and I was able
- 8:53Speaker 4: to learn from street promotions and you know, taking it
- 8:57Speaker 4: from that ground level.
- 8:59Speaker 2: And taking it.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Yeah, that's like the start starts.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
- 9:04Speaker 3: And then what were the rappers around that time?
- 9:06Speaker 1: Uh, well, you're only in hip hop at the time,
- 9:08Speaker 1: because hip hop was fairly.
- 9:09Speaker 4: New, right, well, not really fairly new. But one of
- 9:13Speaker 4: the labels UH interned for was Relativity. Ruthless Red Distribution.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Had an office here in Atlata, Okay.
- 9:19Speaker 4: So of course on the Roofless side, that's you know,
- 9:22Speaker 4: Easy E mc rae and Bomb Thugs, Holes.
- 9:26Speaker 3: With Attitude did and all those guys too.
- 9:31Speaker 4: And then on the Relativity side was more East Coast,
- 9:33Speaker 4: the beat Nuts, Fat Joe Common, So I was able
- 9:37Speaker 4: to get that experience. And then at the same time
- 9:40Speaker 4: I was internal for independent label. Brother Marquis from two
- 9:44Speaker 4: Live Crew and the super producer DJ Toomp had a
- 9:48Speaker 4: label and I interned for them. So that tells you
- 9:51Speaker 4: how bad I wanted to be in it because I
- 9:53Speaker 4: can turn it too.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Label and did you have to work like side jobs
- 9:56Speaker 1: in addition to the internet. Well, were you trying to
- 9:59Speaker 1: how have your parents?
- 10:02Speaker 4: I just told this story recently for the first time.
- 10:04Speaker 4: Excuse me. I was working at Delta Airlines.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Oh shoot, shout out. Okay.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:10Speaker 4: So I remember coming home and telling my parents that
- 10:16Speaker 4: I wasn't working at Delta anymore, and my mom kind
- 10:21Speaker 4: of lost it.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Like what they got. It's a good job. You could
- 10:26Speaker 2: have worked benefits, you could have worked there for years.
- 10:28Speaker 3: What were you doing at Delta? Were you like a student?
- 10:31Speaker 1: Uh?
- 10:31Speaker 4: They had a program for for students, college students at
- 10:35Speaker 4: that time. I was in school for a couple of years, and.
- 10:38Speaker 2: So we we just did customer It was customer service,
- 10:41Speaker 2: some of us at the gate. Some it just depends,
- 10:44Speaker 2: but it was customer service.
- 10:46Speaker 4: So my mom, you know, in her defense, she she
- 10:50Speaker 4: had the right to be mad because I was young.
- 10:52Speaker 2: My dad pulled me to the side, he said, hey,
- 10:54Speaker 2: come here, some excuse me, he said, go for it.
- 10:59Speaker 3: Shout out.
- 11:00Speaker 4: Rest in peace, Tom Clark. I love you, brother, I
- 11:03Speaker 4: miss you too.
- 11:04Speaker 1: But and you told her, like the reason why is
- 11:07Speaker 1: because you really wanted.
- 11:08Speaker 3: To put all your buckets in this.
- 11:10Speaker 2: I have no income.
- 11:11Speaker 3: So she was like, were you living with them? Yes,
- 11:15Speaker 3: I was young, okay, shout out to Papa. Duke's okay.
- 11:18Speaker 2: So that put me on. It's like he put the
- 11:22Speaker 2: batteries at my back to go forward.
- 11:25Speaker 3: I love that.
- 11:26Speaker 4: And then from the internship things just start happening. Things
- 11:30Speaker 4: just start rolling, and my career started taking off.
- 11:34Speaker 3: And when did you get that first? Like that?
- 11:40Speaker 2: I was in the music and Freaknick Weekend.
- 11:46Speaker 3: Uh. Of course, men.
- 11:50Speaker 4: Talk about talk about hey, this is out of hey man, this,
- 11:57Speaker 4: I'm trying to brown my ground.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Turn because you're turning it off. You got to turn
- 12:02Speaker 1: that doll the other way.
- 12:03Speaker 2: It says, okay, you know I'm three quarters slow.
- 12:07Speaker 3: Well no, I'm realizing.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Quarter right now.
- 12:13Speaker 3: I'm right now, I'm three quarters slow that You're never
- 12:16Speaker 3: in the kitchen. Why is it not.
- 12:19Speaker 4: Getting because look no, look look look Collen. It says
- 12:24Speaker 4: high and it says low. But I saw the dot.
- 12:27Speaker 3: He was getting real close to the doctor.
- 12:30Speaker 2: It was so so freaking weekend every year. Of course,
- 12:37Speaker 2: every artist came to land.
- 12:40Speaker 4: So I was still interning at this point with Relativity Ruthless,
- 12:46Speaker 4: and we had we had m c ran in town
- 12:50Speaker 4: and he came by my apartment and I couldn't believe
- 12:53Speaker 4: it because you know, I was such an n w
- 12:55Speaker 4: A fan. I was man and I was like, I'm
- 12:59Speaker 4: in the industry.
- 13:00Speaker 3: Became by your apartment or your parents' house.
- 13:03Speaker 4: At that point, I had moved, I had got me
- 13:05Speaker 4: a little one barrel, so he came by my apartment.
- 13:08Speaker 4: Oh wow, and I was like, damn, I made it
- 13:11Speaker 4: and she ran foreign apartment. So that was like the
- 13:15Speaker 4: first time that I felt even though I.
- 13:17Speaker 3: Was no money.
- 13:18Speaker 4: Yeah, but that's when I was I felt like, Okay,
- 13:22Speaker 4: I'm really in this business. Yeah, but literally I know
- 13:25Speaker 4: that it would take for years of me really cultivating
- 13:29Speaker 4: certain relationships to really be in this business.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:33Speaker 2: So but that was that was really my first time. Yeah,
- 13:37Speaker 2: I was like damn in my apartment.
- 13:40Speaker 1: So I know, for me personally, like I was an
- 13:43Speaker 1: entrepreneur for a long time, but it wasn't until I
- 13:45Speaker 1: bought my first house where I really was like I'm legit,
- 13:48Speaker 1: like one of bank ones to you based on the money,
- 13:52Speaker 1: because you know, you always feel like a hustler, maybe
- 13:54Speaker 1: imposter syndrome. What was that next time or you were
- 13:58Speaker 1: like Okay, I'm legit.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Legit honestly, when I started getting paid.
- 14:06Speaker 3: Yeah, let's talk about that. Okay, Well it.
- 14:07Speaker 2: Wasn't a lot. It wasn't a lot.
- 14:11Speaker 4: Relativity eventually hired me, uh that our our I think
- 14:16Speaker 4: our VP, I think he was VP. His name was
- 14:17Speaker 4: Muhammad Ali and the national our national director was rich Kid.
- 14:22Speaker 4: That was his name, and they hired me to do streets.
- 14:25Speaker 4: And guess what my salary was. I was on a
- 14:27Speaker 4: monthly stipend of five hundred dollars.
- 14:32Speaker 1: I mean back then that was probably cool, right, No,
- 14:35Speaker 1: it was still bad.
- 14:36Speaker 4: No, but it didn't matter. It could have been five.
- 14:38Speaker 4: I was just the fact that I was getting a check.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Yeah, of course, doing what you cared about, and at
- 14:43Speaker 1: this point you're probably killing the game in promotions.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Yeah I was, Yeah, I was. I was.
- 14:47Speaker 4: I was definitely good at what I what I did,
- 14:50Speaker 4: and still good at what I do. But when I
- 14:54Speaker 4: got a check for it, that's when I was like, okay,
- 14:57Speaker 4: and I showed my parents and it was okay, you know,
- 14:59Speaker 4: you know, one hundred dollars a month, that's a start.
- 15:01Speaker 4: But then within a few years that five hundred turned
- 15:04Speaker 4: into thousands and thousands because my career started.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Growing and what was that next thing that made your
- 15:10Speaker 1: career start.
- 15:13Speaker 2: A lot happened.
- 15:14Speaker 4: Like I said, I started working for other labels doing
- 15:16Speaker 4: street promotions.
- 15:18Speaker 2: But then Racist Records. Uh. For those who don't know
- 15:23Speaker 2: Most Depth talive quality, you know.
- 15:26Speaker 4: We had sound bombing and we had a lot of
- 15:28Speaker 4: stuff with eminem Common.
- 15:30Speaker 2: They called us the backpack label. So Racist Records hired me.
- 15:33Speaker 3: And why would they call what does the backpack label mean?
- 15:36Speaker 2: It's backpackers? Like that's that.
- 15:40Speaker 4: That's what we were known as the backpack Look at
- 15:42Speaker 4: look at the artists and I'm talking about and this
- 15:43Speaker 4: is and I love most depth talive quality, but at
- 15:47Speaker 4: that moment in the nineties, it was.
- 15:49Speaker 2: More of the backpack kids, you know. That's what they
- 15:53Speaker 2: called us, the backpack label.
- 15:55Speaker 4: And a lot of white kids listened to the artist
- 15:58Speaker 4: you know, listen to the artists we had on the label,
- 16:00Speaker 4: Eastern Conference, all those artists.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Uh.
- 16:03Speaker 4: So I started working with Rackus Records, and then from
- 16:06Speaker 4: there I started taking on other positions. I was working
- 16:09Speaker 4: here at in my distribution offices marketing. We had verg
- 16:13Speaker 4: in Capitol Records. Then Outcasts hired me to run their
- 16:16Speaker 4: promotion department at their label.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Wow.
- 16:21Speaker 4: Yeah, they had they had a label as well, so
- 16:23Speaker 4: I was working with with with the label Aquimini. That
- 16:27Speaker 4: was the first before it became Purple Ribbon Records. So
- 16:31Speaker 4: then I, you know, then Steve Rifkins. Shout out to
- 16:33Speaker 4: Steve Rifkin. Uh, he's one of the biggest icons in
- 16:37Speaker 4: this music game.
- 16:39Speaker 2: He brought me on, Uh, you're looking at I might
- 16:42Speaker 2: burn the man.
- 16:42Speaker 4: You ain't got to look like that's how you cutting
- 16:44Speaker 4: your eye cut her eye and me like, I'm about
- 16:47Speaker 4: to burn up the whole studio. Colleen, I don't do
- 16:50Speaker 4: me like that. But uh so after that, uh, and
- 16:57Speaker 4: these are just jobs. And keep in mind I still.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Was on ms of things. Yeah, consoleting man, I have
- 17:04Speaker 2: my own.
- 17:05Speaker 1: So you're like, now now you're like a hustler, slash promoter,
- 17:08Speaker 1: a hustler.
- 17:10Speaker 2: I just became that one of those.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Dude, Like I became that nigga I mean.

- 18:11Speaker 4: as vice president of SRC, and we had you know,
- 18:15Speaker 4: Ashra Roth and I mean Steve Rifkin, I don't have

- 18:20Speaker 4: brought he signed some of the biggest acts in the
- 18:23Speaker 4: history of hip hop. So when I worked for him,
- 18:26Speaker 4: I thought like, Wow, I'm working for one of the
- 18:28Speaker 4: biggest icons. And I went from there to Shakir the
- 18:33Speaker 4: Late Let me let me preface the late Great Shakir
- 18:36Speaker 4: Steward Rest in peace. Him and Jermaine dupri and La
- 18:40Speaker 4: Red brought me over to Island depth Jam to work
- 18:42Speaker 4: with on JD side to run a promotion department. And

- 18:50Speaker 4: giving you a cliff no version of of my my
- 18:53Speaker 4: career in his business.
- 18:55Speaker 2: And that's just from having jobs. That's not all the
- 18:58Speaker 2: other things.
- 18:59Speaker 4: And that's why you have to tune into story time
- 19:01Speaker 4: with Legendary Jerry podcast because I talk about all the
- 19:04Speaker 4: other things that I do.
- 19:05Speaker 1: Before we even well, I want to get to all
- 19:07Speaker 1: some of the other stuff you do, but I want
- 19:09Speaker 1: to talk about promotions for a second, since you are
- 19:13Speaker 1: the goat promotions when comes definitely not the music music marketing,
- 19:17Speaker 1: Well you definitely, Okay, well.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Definitely, Now I can name some goats.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Now share share with me some of the tippits that
- 19:24Speaker 1: you learned along that helped with your promotions.
- 19:30Speaker 4: At least well in radio, in radio, in radio promotions
- 19:33Speaker 4: and marketing. There's really one thing that really pushes the
- 19:40Speaker 4: needle and Colleen, that's relationships. You have to nurture. You
- 19:48Speaker 4: have to develop and nurture relationships. That's the end all
- 19:52Speaker 4: be all. You keep great relationships, you have a very
- 19:58Speaker 4: very successful career. It's all about relationships.
- 20:01Speaker 2: At the end of the day. That's it.
- 20:03Speaker 1: And when you're talking relationships, you're talking about relationships and.
- 20:06Speaker 3: Media radio across the board.
- 20:08Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, And I'm.
- 20:10Speaker 3: Sure even in politics, we'll get there. I'm gonna get there, you.
- 20:20Speaker 4: See, I know, I know why you look, even in politics,
- 20:24Speaker 4: even in politics, let me cut it.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Look, let me look now, I can cut it down.
- 20:27Speaker 3: Okay, cut it down. Why you shout that look? Is
- 20:30Speaker 3: that off limit?
- 20:31Speaker 2: No?
- 20:31Speaker 3: Okay, because we ain't gonna leave.
- 20:33Speaker 2: It listening for transparency?
- 20:34Speaker 1: Right since since we did segue into politics, did we
- 20:50Speaker 1: pass this chapter in your life yet or you didn't
- 20:53Speaker 1: skip over it?
- 20:54Speaker 3: Right?
- 20:55Speaker 4: They kind of they kind of overlap because I got
- 21:02Speaker 4: into politics. It really wasn't my idea, to be honest.
- 21:08Speaker 4: It was other people's idea because they saw so much
- 21:12Speaker 4: potential in me, uh, from a leadership standpoint. So it
- 21:17Speaker 4: was like, what we're going to do is we want
- 21:20Speaker 4: to appoint you to a board called the zone and Board.
- 21:24Speaker 2: H and Colleen, I had no clue what the fucking.
- 21:26Speaker 4: Zoning board was, but come to find out that it
- 21:32Speaker 4: is a very powerful board no matter what municipality you in.
- 21:36Speaker 2: And they appointed me, that appointed me to that board.
- 21:41Speaker 4: The folks that that that that random county that I
- 21:44Speaker 4: was living in, which is right here in Atlanta, nor Carolanta.
- 21:47Speaker 1: Uh so, uh so your relationships at this point are buzzing.
- 21:53Speaker 3: Yeah, that's you could drain the water into that. I
- 21:58Speaker 3: was trying to help.
- 21:59Speaker 2: I was if you will help me. If you was
- 22:01Speaker 2: gonna help me, you would have had a strainer.
- 22:03Speaker 3: Tell this eating wall broke. You better use one of those.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Yeah, use one of those tools.
- 22:08Speaker 3: I forget the eighty five South. They built this whole
- 22:10Speaker 3: set for us here.
- 22:11Speaker 2: And shout out to eighty five South. I could pour
- 22:13Speaker 2: all this in here.
- 22:15Speaker 1: See that's how I know you ain't in the kitchen.
- 22:16Speaker 1: You better use stop you Let me just say something
- 22:19Speaker 1: to all y'all listeners. He taking the raw meat thing
- 22:23Speaker 1: and he can keep swapping, so like if we have
- 22:26Speaker 1: some kind of bacterial thing.
- 22:27Speaker 3: I just want to just high like that.
- 22:30Speaker 2: Jerry Clark, reason in your mouth than this.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Oh my god, Jerry, Arry, you're gonna be an atl
- 22:42Speaker 1: Are you going back to l A.
- 22:43Speaker 3: I'm having a great time, but this is I.
- 22:46Speaker 4: Had to let me look, let me use something else.
- 22:49Speaker 4: Now you see how I switched it up.
- 22:51Speaker 3: Yeah, after we already died of.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Did anyone else think that when they were seeing him
- 22:57Speaker 1: switch those utensils.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Out because nobody look, because they're.
- 23:01Speaker 3: Not eating it. They don't care exactly.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Like I said, but we go. I'm not gonna get
- 23:07Speaker 2: your Backteriy.
- 23:08Speaker 4: But anyway, Hey, y'all, this is Colleen, this is Jerry Clark.
- 23:14Speaker 2: We're having a great time and this mill is about
- 23:16Speaker 2: to be even.
- 23:17Speaker 3: We don't see no season. All I know is mean.
- 23:20Speaker 2: There's no seasoning. There's no seasons of season. I didn't
- 23:24Speaker 2: know this. This is my first time, said by.
- 23:26Speaker 3: What seasons do you need? Let's not don't look, don't look,
- 23:30Speaker 3: don't look.
- 23:31Speaker 2: Watch there we go.
- 23:37Speaker 3: I just wanted to see, if you.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Know, hold on, let me stand up.
- 23:40Speaker 4: When I do this, this see this, this goes into
- 23:42Speaker 4: jiggo Jerry for the strict look.
- 23:44Speaker 1: Ah, okay, okay, okay, Jerry, I'm sorry. I'm having a
- 23:56Speaker 1: great time. All right, let's go back to the politics.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Because I want to get to prison sentences and all
- 24:01Speaker 1: that good stuff. Okay, I I don't want to get
- 24:03Speaker 1: to that. I want to get to the promised Land.
- 24:07Speaker 4: So uh so fast forward. I was appointed to the board.
- 24:11Speaker 4: I was on the board for a few years. And
- 24:14Speaker 4: at this time, I was still flying back and forth
- 24:16Speaker 4: to New York for my meetings. And let me say this,
- 24:22Speaker 4: I'm all about accountability. So I'm not gonna sit here
- 24:24Speaker 4: and act like that I didn't do anything wrong. I
- 24:26Speaker 4: would never do that. But you know, in the music
- 24:29Speaker 4: industry or period, if somebody takes care of you, say hey,
- 24:35Speaker 4: send me an invoice for whatever, can you shoot them
- 24:37Speaker 4: back some it's just you know, appreciate, scratch my back
- 24:40Speaker 4: and politics, that's bribery, and you go to federal prison
- 24:46Speaker 4: for that.
- 24:48Speaker 3: So they took care of you. You blessed them.
- 24:50Speaker 2: Individual.
- 24:52Speaker 4: He needed some he needed some help with a vote,
- 24:55Speaker 4: and I gave him my vote, and I told him
- 24:57Speaker 4: I needed some help. I was flying some black kids
- 25:00Speaker 4: out to California to play baseball in the baseball tournament,
- 25:04Speaker 4: and I needed some help paying for those plane tickets,
- 25:06Speaker 4: and he helped me. The amount was thirty five hundred dollars.
- 25:11Speaker 4: I went to federal prison for nine months for three thousand,
- 25:15Speaker 4: five hundred dollars.
- 25:20Speaker 3: That's a heavy that's a heavy fist.
- 25:22Speaker 2: It was, it was.
- 25:23Speaker 4: It was so interesting when I got down to Maxwell
- 25:25Speaker 4: Federal Prison camp in Montgomery, Alabama, that a lot of
- 25:29Speaker 4: people on my work detail and in my dorm.
- 25:32Speaker 2: Card man, you ain't even have a no three thousand dollars.
- 25:36Speaker 2: I was like, Yeah, what the fuck you piss out?
- 25:41Speaker 3: That's me.
- 25:41Speaker 4: I was in Downing in twenty fifteen. I went to
- 25:43Speaker 4: prison twenty sixteen, so I did nine months of federal prison.
- 25:48Speaker 4: And I'm able to say this now, I'm looking at
- 25:50Speaker 4: the camera and say it. That's one of the best
- 25:52Speaker 4: things that ever happened to me.
- 25:54Speaker 1: I never thought I would ever say that, Yeah, tell me, why,
- 25:57Speaker 1: tell me why nine months.
- 25:59Speaker 4: Because let me tell you something I got a call from.
- 26:03Speaker 4: We're gonna go back to the people in the music
- 26:05Speaker 4: business that that really helped me and that really grew me.
- 26:08Speaker 4: Outside of my uncle Stanley Bethel, there's a young lady
- 26:13Speaker 4: by the name of Sherry Riley. She has books. She's
- 26:17Speaker 4: a very motivational person. She's just a great person, and
- 26:21Speaker 4: she helped me early on in the music business. But
- 26:23Speaker 4: outside of that, she helped me early on personally as well.
- 26:28Speaker 4: And she called me. I was in a deep depression,
- 26:33Speaker 4: had to sell my house. I just went through divorce.
- 26:35Speaker 4: We didn't talk about that. I just went through a divorce,
- 26:38Speaker 4: sold my house, my daddy died the same day I
- 26:42Speaker 4: got sentence to federal prison. So I was in a deep,
- 26:45Speaker 4: deep depression. I didn't think I knew what depression was,
- 26:48Speaker 4: but I found out I was in a deep depression.
- 26:51Speaker 4: She called me one morning before I turned myself into
- 26:53Speaker 4: federal prison and she said, call me about five thirty
- 26:56Speaker 4: six am.
- 26:57Speaker 2: And she said, she.
- 26:59Speaker 4: Said, Jerry, what is synonymous with nine months? And I
- 27:04Speaker 4: said childbirth? And she said, God is birth in the
- 27:08Speaker 4: new U. Pay attention. Those were some of the greatest
- 27:13Speaker 4: words I ever heard. So shout out to Sherry Riley.
- 27:17Speaker 3: That's an amazing perspective.
- 27:19Speaker 1: Yes, but you can't say day three. I went to
- 27:23Speaker 1: jail one time for twenty four hours. It was a terrible,
- 27:26Speaker 1: terrible experience.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Want prison.
- 27:29Speaker 3: Yeah, it felt like prison, felt like real legit.
- 27:32Speaker 4: And when Cat Williams did the interview, he said, no, no, no, no,
- 27:35Speaker 4: no no, I went to jail.
- 27:36Speaker 2: Not I went to prison. You went to jail.
- 27:40Speaker 3: Okay, there's a difference. Huh.
- 27:42Speaker 2: Ship.
- 27:43Speaker 3: Yeah, you can't drop the soap or nothing, or I
- 27:46Speaker 3: had to go. I had to do it.
- 27:47Speaker 4: I had to do it. Yeah, because one of those
- 27:54Speaker 4: was that drop the sap was in your slot, that's why.
- 27:59Speaker 4: But no, but I went to and one thing I
- 28:02Speaker 4: can say, I went to a federal prison camp.
- 28:04Speaker 1: So it wasn't was it like the like FB, like
- 28:08Speaker 1: the white collar crime prison.
- 28:09Speaker 4: It was street niggas there too, But yeah, it was
- 28:11Speaker 4: a lot of white collar attorneys, doctors, bankers.
- 28:15Speaker 3: I want. I went around because I feel like.
- 28:19Speaker 4: In the fan system make at different levels. Now I
- 28:21Speaker 4: was at a camp. You got a camp, you gotta low,
- 28:23Speaker 4: you got.
- 28:24Speaker 2: A medium, you got a high. You got to put aitendency.
- 28:26Speaker 2: So I was at a camp. I was at the lowest.
- 28:28Speaker 3: So it was like luxuries.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Well, prison ain't never let imies.
- 28:33Speaker 1: That went to jail and like you could like get
- 28:35Speaker 1: them food and stuff.
- 28:39Speaker 2: I don't know that happen. That didn't happen where I.
- 28:41Speaker 3: Was, Okay, So what happened in jail?
- 28:44Speaker 2: What happened that ship? I worked every day. I went
- 28:46Speaker 2: out on the base and.
- 28:49Speaker 4: I was on landscape and detail, and I went out
- 28:51Speaker 4: and cut gray, I played softball, I did yoga.
- 28:56Speaker 3: Well you said it wasn't it.
- 28:58Speaker 4: Wasn't great that I went, Now, hold on, it wasn't
- 29:00Speaker 4: great of going to pray. It was great of what
- 29:03Speaker 4: it did to me what I needed to get back
- 29:07Speaker 4: right spiritually and everything. I needed that situation at nine months,
- 29:12Speaker 4: like I said, Sherry Raley told me I needed a
- 29:15Speaker 4: new me birth, birth with a ED.
- 29:19Speaker 2: And that's what that did.
- 29:21Speaker 4: It birth knew me and I needed that because I
- 29:23Speaker 4: had been skating by in life, living great financially, great,
- 29:27Speaker 4: beautiful family, three kids, but it's still I was surrounding
- 29:32Speaker 4: myself with certain people that I should have and not
- 29:37Speaker 4: just that, but I was.
- 29:40Speaker 2: I just needed to be a.
- 29:41Speaker 4: Better person in that situation strengthened me spiritually, because when
- 29:48Speaker 4: you get knocked down to that canvas. I'm gonna say
- 29:51Speaker 4: it again, my daddy died the same day I got
- 29:53Speaker 4: sent as the federal prison. When I got the federal prison,
- 29:57Speaker 4: not even a maybe a month until my sentence, I
- 30:01Speaker 4: got a call that my daughter in college up in
- 30:04Speaker 4: New York had a suicide attempt.
- 30:08Speaker 2: So I was getting I'm getting hit every which way.
- 30:13Speaker 4: So I got knocked down to that campus, and sometimes
- 30:16Speaker 4: when you get knocked down to that campus, you get
- 30:18Speaker 4: knocked down to positions praying. So I'm gonna say that
- 30:23Speaker 4: it helped me spiritually and it helped me just become
- 30:26Speaker 4: a better person. I don't wish prison on nobody. That
- 30:28Speaker 4: shit is like somebody told me when I first got there.
- 30:32Speaker 4: They was like, card, you ain't really gonna be here
- 30:33Speaker 4: that long. You hear nine months, but this shit is
- 30:36Speaker 4: like being dead while you alive.
- 30:39Speaker 3: Plus nine months feels like eternity.
- 30:40Speaker 4: Right, motherfucker felt like nine years. You can't eat what
- 30:45Speaker 4: you want, you can't get no pussy, you can't be
- 30:46Speaker 4: in the streets.
- 30:49Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you, I did my one day in jail.
- 30:52Speaker 1: I gotta rep my jail time. Okay, I did my
- 30:55Speaker 1: one day in jail. I learned about daddy's and mommy's
- 30:59Speaker 1: aka institution. Yeah, they call them daddy's and mom or
- 31:04Speaker 1: daddy's or whatever. I don't I don't remember what prostitution
- 31:07Speaker 1: languages I learned, but I learned a lot about what language.
- 31:10Speaker 2: Do you use? Okay, my bad?
- 31:14Speaker 3: All right?
- 31:14Speaker 4: Let me make your look. Let me make Can you
- 31:16Speaker 4: hand me a fork please? And I can make here.
- 31:18Speaker 4: This is your plate. You just gonna have to switch.
- 31:21Speaker 4: Don't try to hey man, don't do that. Don't do that.
- 31:24Speaker 2: I know you go throw it away. She's not gonna
- 31:26Speaker 2: eat this on camera.
- 31:27Speaker 1: I eat okay, because eighty five souths. I missed all
- 31:30Speaker 1: the good meals and then I live on.
- 31:32Speaker 2: You don't want salmonella poison, as she.
- 31:34Speaker 3: Said, that's right. Here, make your plate. I want to
- 31:38Speaker 3: make you got to make two plates. I want us
- 31:41Speaker 3: to both die together.
- 31:44Speaker 2: That's what we're gonna do. What was that, Juliet? Who
- 31:47Speaker 2: did it?
- 31:48Speaker 3: I don't know?
- 31:48Speaker 2: Okay, okay, I told you. I read a little bit.
- 31:51Speaker 1: So what happens after you get out of jail, Like,
- 31:53Speaker 1: what's your first play?
- 31:55Speaker 4: I went to a halfway house for two months and
- 31:59Speaker 4: then that's required.
- 32:02Speaker 3: It depends on or were you just like homeless at
- 32:04Speaker 3: that point?
- 32:05Speaker 4: No, well I had something, No, hey, I went to
- 32:10Speaker 4: my parents. My dad had passed, so my mom was
- 32:12Speaker 4: in the house by herself. So I went there. And
- 32:18Speaker 4: one good thing going back to relationships is when you
- 32:22Speaker 4: have great relationships, people.
- 32:24Speaker 2: Start calling you. So I started getting calls to.
- 32:29Speaker 3: Start back in promotion in the music business. Yeah, oh nice, Yeah, okay.
- 32:35Speaker 4: Yeah, So so I got right back in the mix. Okay,
- 32:41Speaker 4: even though a lot of those same people treated me
- 32:44Speaker 4: like I had the Zeca.
- 32:46Speaker 2: Virus, COVID twenty eight all that shit.
- 32:48Speaker 4: When I was going through my federal stuff, which I
- 32:51Speaker 4: mean looking back at it. I mean, you know, people
- 32:52Speaker 4: when they hear oh, I'm sorry, your majesty, thank you,
- 32:57Speaker 4: if you're your majesty.
- 32:59Speaker 3: See if we live through this, oh you just got
- 33:02Speaker 3: you ain't pro No, no.
- 33:04Speaker 1: We definitely need to pray there you please Jesus put

- 34:57Speaker 2: So wow, Okay, okay.
- 35:00Speaker 1: All right, okay, you get out of prison, not jail,
- 35:07Speaker 1: but it's prison camp. So it's like the baby prison.
- 35:11Speaker 3: So you're serving nine months.
- 35:12Speaker 2: I ain't seen nobody get cut up or rape.
- 35:16Speaker 1: You could drop the soap freely, yes, I could.
- 35:23Speaker 3: Did they have like solo? Yeah?
- 35:26Speaker 2: We had individuals?
- 35:27Speaker 3: Man, it was like a star or was it?
- 35:29Speaker 4: Like?
- 35:30Speaker 3: I like those prison.
- 35:31Speaker 4: Movies, like the what kind of weirdo Ships?
- 35:35Speaker 2: You were too?
- 35:37Speaker 1: I'm all into that ship Like I like all that stuff.
- 35:40Speaker 1: I know, movies like the Addiction show.
- 35:43Speaker 4: You said the dick in a booty movie. I was like,
- 35:46Speaker 4: that's what you said, addiction. Okay, it sounded like you
- 35:49Speaker 4: said not a dick in a booty. That's what it
- 35:51Speaker 4: sounds like. You said, no, no, I'm.
- 35:53Speaker 1: Not into those type of movies. Okay, okay, but you
- 35:56Speaker 1: could safely drop the soap.
- 35:59Speaker 4: It was, it was, it was it for it to
- 36:01Speaker 4: be prison. It wasn't a horrible experience. I'll say that
- 36:05Speaker 4: to the point that when my kids came down and
- 36:07Speaker 4: saw me, they was like, Dad, it's.
- 36:09Speaker 2: A golf course right there. We saw horses.
- 36:11Speaker 3: I was like, yeah, there were horses.
- 36:13Speaker 4: I mean because on where I was, they have they
- 36:15Speaker 4: trained some of the inmates to careful.
- 36:18Speaker 2: Horse That's nice.
- 36:19Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, but.
- 36:22Speaker 2: It was still prison. Let's not get it twisted.
- 36:24Speaker 4: So I went to prison for three thousand, five hundred dollars.
- 36:28Speaker 2: Boy, somebody here singing, y'all, Jush.
- 36:32Speaker 3: I was trying to find out where it was.
- 36:35Speaker 2: I don't know they's singing.
- 36:36Speaker 3: Where is it coming from?
- 36:39Speaker 2: The singing? Damn? This spaghetti good?
- 36:43Speaker 3: Okay. So after you get out of prison, then what happens?
- 36:46Speaker 4: They came back home to Atlanta. Due to strong relationships,
- 36:51Speaker 4: people started calling me, placing me, Hey, let's do this,
- 36:54Speaker 4: let's do that, let's do this, And I jumped right
- 36:57Speaker 4: back in the mix. So Colleen, that was a great thing.
- 37:00Speaker 4: Goes back again to relationships.
- 37:03Speaker 2: That's it. You're finding heads.
- 37:06Speaker 4: Who knows, I might have been out here selling, selling,
- 37:08Speaker 4: selling my sausage or something to some women selling selling sausage.
- 37:13Speaker 4: To look when you when you're in the jungle, you
- 37:18Speaker 4: gotta do what you gotta do to survive.
- 37:19Speaker 1: From a marketing perspective, we're in a new age with
- 37:23Speaker 1: social media and the way the industry is just flipped
- 37:27Speaker 1: so many times over on its head.
- 37:30Speaker 3: Do you find do you think it will be harder
- 37:33Speaker 3: for people now that they're getting into music game?
- 37:37Speaker 2: Good question, it's.
- 37:40Speaker 4: I think it's it's it's harder and easier because you have,
- 37:45Speaker 4: from a technology standpoint, you have so many ways of
- 37:48Speaker 4: getting your music out to the masses. But then it
- 37:51Speaker 4: has taken away from like the really touch gorilla marketing
- 37:59Speaker 4: and cans kiss babies and just personable. It's gotten away
- 38:06Speaker 4: from that because people just they feel like with you know,
- 38:09Speaker 4: with media, I mean, with technology has to say you
- 38:12Speaker 4: can get which is.
- 38:13Speaker 2: A great thing.
- 38:13Speaker 4: I love it because a lot of people that I
- 38:15Speaker 4: that that have blown up when it never got found.
- 38:18Speaker 4: If it was just for the traditional way of how
- 38:20Speaker 4: I came up in a business where you.
- 38:21Speaker 2: Got to wait on somebody to sign you and.
- 38:23Speaker 4: You know, get on the ridd of now ship you can.
- 38:26Speaker 4: You can, you can create your own story. So and
- 38:29Speaker 4: that's a good thing. So whether or not it's easy,
- 38:33Speaker 4: I would say technically just to say, I would say,
- 38:35Speaker 4: yes it is.
- 38:36Speaker 2: It's definitely easy to get.
- 38:37Speaker 4: Your music out because I can go, we can, we
- 38:39Speaker 4: can any of the DSPs me and you could do
- 38:41Speaker 4: a song and then we can put it up. Now
- 38:43Speaker 4: as far as getting out to the masses is different,
- 38:45Speaker 4: but we could steal you know, we can, or we
- 38:47Speaker 4: could do a TikTok video with our recon and it
- 38:49Speaker 4: should go viral next thing, you know.
- 38:51Speaker 2: Boah.
- 38:52Speaker 4: So it's definitely now that I'm thinking about it is
- 38:54Speaker 4: it's easier now because in those days, let's just say nineties,
- 38:57Speaker 4: early two thousand, it was a different game.
- 39:00Speaker 3: Did you do a lot of pay to play when
- 39:02Speaker 3: it came to radio.
- 39:02Speaker 2: That's illegal.
- 39:03Speaker 4: So I've never done that. I've never done that in
- 39:09Speaker 4: my life. I'm looking at the camp I've never paid
- 39:10Speaker 4: anybody for any record play or nothing.
- 39:13Speaker 3: I mean, I was in the industry. I saw a
- 39:14Speaker 3: lot of that.
- 39:15Speaker 2: You saw.
- 39:16Speaker 3: I know that you never did it.
- 39:17Speaker 4: Nobody I know, I've never done it. Nobody I know's
- 39:19Speaker 4: ever paid anybody to play record really, Okay, ever, no
- 39:23Speaker 4: people that I know.
- 39:24Speaker 3: Okay, but your stuff was all relationship.
- 39:26Speaker 4: Anyway, So you got if you got great relationships, you
- 39:29Speaker 4: can make a lot of things happen. I've never paid
- 39:33Speaker 4: nobody to play a record in my life.
- 39:37Speaker 3: So who are you working with currently right now?
- 39:41Speaker 4: Well, I'm concentrating on my podcast, but I have an
- 39:43Speaker 4: artist that I'm working with and I'm excited about.
- 39:45Speaker 2: Actually from your from the West.
- 39:46Speaker 1: Coast, I'm from New York originations, So you know you
- 39:49Speaker 1: don't ever, don't ever claim West Coast on me.
- 39:51Speaker 3: You know I lived there way too long.
- 39:53Speaker 2: All right, how long you've been living on the West Coast?
- 39:54Speaker 3: That's exactly why the coast jerry about you.
- 39:58Speaker 2: But I'm just asking.
- 40:00Speaker 3: I pleaded the fifth.
- 40:01Speaker 2: Okay, what part of New York you're from?
- 40:03Speaker 4: Even though live from Bedford stuyve the something the livest one.
- 40:08Speaker 3: So tell me who are you currently working with?
- 40:11Speaker 4: I have an artist and I'm really excited about. First
- 40:13Speaker 4: I managed a producer. His name is July.
- 40:15Speaker 1: Uh.
- 40:16Speaker 2: He just wants being my producer. Uh.
- 40:18Speaker 4: Had one of the he did the Billie Ellis record
- 40:22Speaker 4: for Armani White. Okay, so he got an award for
- 40:26Speaker 4: being my from being my last year. Then I have
- 40:29Speaker 4: an artist named Juliari from l A. Actually he's got
- 40:32Speaker 4: a song with a little baby. We're shooting the video
- 40:35Speaker 4: like in the next few days.
- 40:37Speaker 3: So so you're gonna be in my necker.
- 40:38Speaker 2: Was you shooting video here? In a line?
- 40:40Speaker 3: Okay?
- 40:41Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, yeah, so if.
- 40:42Speaker 4: You want to come, you know, throwing your little no tennis,
- 40:46Speaker 4: throwing your little tennis.
- 40:47Speaker 2: Curt come out start Nope, rub the ground. I know
- 40:53Speaker 2: that was old that was old school. But yeah, so
- 40:56Speaker 2: I'm excited.
- 40:57Speaker 3: Then.
- 40:57Speaker 2: Of course, the one thing that I'm most.
- 40:59Speaker 3: Excited about this the podcast.
- 41:01Speaker 2: Yeah, storytime of legendary podcast.
- 41:03Speaker 3: So what can people expect when they hear your podcast.
- 41:06Speaker 2: The South Narrative.
- 41:08Speaker 4: I needed to tell our give our narrative, and tell
- 41:11Speaker 4: our narrative, and tell my story because there's so many
- 41:14Speaker 4: stories that have been told him and not only myself,
- 41:18Speaker 4: but we have been left out.
- 41:20Speaker 2: And we just celebrated fifty years of hip hop.
- 41:24Speaker 4: And half those years arguably because me and t I
- 41:28Speaker 4: just had this argument on the episode on Storytime Leedgsday year.
- 41:32Speaker 2: The South has controlled the narrative.
- 41:35Speaker 3: What do you mean by that? The narrative run this ship, man,
- 41:38Speaker 3: Oh we run this South.
- 41:39Speaker 2: Yeah, between Houston, Memphis, Miami.
- 41:42Speaker 4: New Orleans for twenty five years and lined up at
- 41:47Speaker 4: lined by itself damn near ran.
- 42:00Speaker 2: So we have for half of these fifty years of this.
- 42:04Speaker 3: Hip hop Why is the only half?
- 42:07Speaker 4: Know what I'm saying is we've we've can we We've
- 42:11Speaker 4: definitely controlled the narrative for twenty five.
- 42:12Speaker 2: Of these years, for half of these It just is
- 42:15Speaker 2: what it is.
- 42:15Speaker 4: You can hate it whatever I know. You know New
- 42:17Speaker 4: Yak cast Nigga, y'all go nah nah we.
- 42:19Speaker 3: But yeah, like when you said control the narrative for
- 42:22Speaker 3: hip hop rap.
- 42:23Speaker 4: For the last twenty five years, Colleen, the South has
- 42:28Speaker 4: hold on. Yeah, No, jay Z fifty, I love all
- 42:30Speaker 4: of those. Got DMX come on, But you look at
- 42:33Speaker 4: it between I mean you you look at from cash
- 42:36Speaker 4: Money that no limit to everything coming out of Memphis,
- 42:40Speaker 4: and I can go on, I can have a whole
- 42:42Speaker 4: show just talking about Atlanta. Okay, Well we done from
- 42:44Speaker 4: our cast on Okay, so Chris crossing our cast from
- 42:49Speaker 4: nineties and TLC to USh.
- 42:50Speaker 2: We can we can go on, we can have a whole.
- 42:53Speaker 3: From where here. TLC's from here.
- 42:56Speaker 2: Come on, that's a freaking.
- 42:58Speaker 3: Out no way. I don't know why I didn't know that,
- 43:02Speaker 3: all right, okay, okay, you know that I know they
- 43:07Speaker 3: live here now.
- 43:07Speaker 2: I just nil lately with.
- 43:11Speaker 3: So sad is that I would have thought tl C
- 43:13Speaker 3: was from like.
- 43:15Speaker 2: Where you being man for you not to know tl
- 43:17Speaker 2: C is from.
- 43:18Speaker 3: I don't know, huge t C fan. I don't know
- 43:20Speaker 3: why I missed.
- 43:20Speaker 2: It, but I was very young from.
- 43:24Speaker 1: My gosh, all right, you are, I claim a little
- 43:28Speaker 1: bit of upstate.
- 43:29Speaker 4: To Yeah, you better because you're not from Brooklyn to
- 43:31Speaker 4: but you didn't know t C.
- 43:33Speaker 1: You know what.
- 43:33Speaker 3: I just remember I was a huge t l C fan.
- 43:37Speaker 1: Let me take passed and then I checked out that
- 43:41Speaker 1: that's okay, ship, I'm getting you were.
- 43:44Speaker 4: If you were a huge t l C fan, you
- 43:46Speaker 4: would know that they were from the a I was.
- 43:48Speaker 3: But tl C when tl C was around, I was
- 43:51Speaker 3: really young. I will say that.
- 43:53Speaker 1: Okay, I didn't start liking hip hop to, so my
- 43:58Speaker 1: first real love for hip.
- 44:00Speaker 3: Didn't start till J until J and I didn't get
- 44:03Speaker 3: onto J. I didn't get onto j till.
- 44:06Speaker 4: Yes, he had been out damn that came by that time.
- 44:09Speaker 3: After Lisa passed, it was a rap I was done with.
- 44:13Speaker 3: She passed in two thousand five.
- 44:17Speaker 2: I forgot.
- 44:17Speaker 1: No, she didn't pass in two thousand and five and
- 44:19Speaker 1: four she passed when I was in high school.
- 44:21Speaker 3: It was like two thousand and one, two thousand. I
- 44:24Speaker 3: know because I remember everybody calling me like, are you.
- 44:27Speaker 2: Speaking of TLC? Perfect?
- 44:29Speaker 4: Perfect segu I have t BOS and TLC coming up
- 44:33Speaker 4: on one of the next episodes, the story.
- 44:35Speaker 3: I try to get her while I was out here.
- 44:37Speaker 3: Look at you. You got all the plugs I need
- 44:39Speaker 3: to live in your roller decks.
- 44:40Speaker 4: I mean, well, you come up and get on the
- 44:42Speaker 4: streets with me, maybe store together. You had to do
- 44:47Speaker 4: a little bit more than okay, bad, the streets is
- 44:51Speaker 4: watching my bad.
- 44:52Speaker 2: I had to man an.
- 44:53Speaker 1: Agreience that he's for the streets were all right, we're
- 44:56Speaker 1: an agence.
- 44:57Speaker 4: No I'm not. I'm I'm a straight school. We're just
- 45:00Speaker 4: out here trying to leave my basics.
- 45:02Speaker 3: That's what every street it is.
- 45:07Speaker 2: My kids are grown.
- 45:10Speaker 1: So what are some good stories that you've seen behind
- 45:12Speaker 1: the scenes that I can have a good chuckle at Well.
- 45:16Speaker 2: You're gonna have to tune in and watch.
- 45:17Speaker 4: Unlike you saying you were a TLC fan and not
- 45:20Speaker 4: knowing every from Atlanta, You're gonna have to watch or
- 45:23Speaker 4: listen because I'm never confessed.
- 45:25Speaker 2: I don't perpetrate. Don't perpetrate.
- 45:30Speaker 4: See you old enough to say that word, because young
- 45:32Speaker 4: folks wouldn't even say that.
- 45:33Speaker 2: So they tell you you're in the demo.
- 45:36Speaker 3: My dema.
- 45:37Speaker 2: But you gotta tune in. Here's so many stories, just
- 45:40Speaker 2: like recently when Pastor Troy.
- 45:41Speaker 4: Was on, he said he did the ad libs for
- 45:44Speaker 4: Justin Timberlake's Cry Me a River.
- 45:47Speaker 2: This fucked me up. I didn't know.
- 45:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't know that was good. I didn't know
- 45:51Speaker 1: that that was confessed on your show. Huh yeah, So
- 45:54Speaker 1: we gotta listen to your show.
- 45:55Speaker 4: But even like I had Princess from Crime I know
- 45:57Speaker 4: you Crime Mob, not to I know you was dancing
- 46:00Speaker 4: that in.
- 46:00Speaker 2: High school, thank god.
- 46:07Speaker 4: So I just had Princess from Crime Mob on storyte
- 46:11Speaker 4: with Legendary Jerry.
- 46:11Speaker 2: She said the reason that they broke up was two
- 46:15Speaker 2: females in the group.
- 46:16Speaker 4: Maybe you didn't know for those listening watching her and
- 46:18Speaker 4: Diamond the reason that the group broke up because she
- 46:22Speaker 4: told Diamond that Michael Jackson was getting on a remix
- 46:27Speaker 4: of Knuck of You Buck and.
- 46:29Speaker 2: Was at their house at the studio where they were.
- 46:31Speaker 4: Over here in Atlanta, and she came there and they
- 46:35Speaker 4: told her she was joking. They told Diamond that they
- 46:39Speaker 4: were joking. They said that Michael Jackson was getting on.
- 46:42Speaker 4: He was there at the house and he was getting
- 46:43Speaker 4: on a remix of Knuck of You Buck. And they
- 46:46Speaker 4: fell out and the group of platinum selling group broke
- 46:50Speaker 4: up over that.
- 46:51Speaker 3: Are you serious?
- 46:54Speaker 4: According to Princess from Crime Mob, she said that was
- 46:57Speaker 4: the reason that they broke up, and I'm not gonna
- 47:01Speaker 4: dispute it because I want there because I know Princess
- 47:03Speaker 4: is a stand up person, won't lie. So a platinum
- 47:07Speaker 4: selling group broke up because they said Michael Jackson over
- 47:10Speaker 4: here doing it and they said, Bubbles the monkey is
- 47:14Speaker 4: over here on the ad libs and they say, she
- 47:17Speaker 4: ran down the street and got there and Michael Jackson
- 47:19Speaker 4: and Bubbles wasn't there, and the group broke up to
- 47:23Speaker 4: them the type stories you're gonna get story time with
- 47:26Speaker 4: legendary Jerry.
- 47:27Speaker 3: What made you get into podcasting.
- 47:31Speaker 4: I was getting ready to go to federal prison, and
- 47:33Speaker 4: I was just thinking of ways to reinvent myself.
- 47:35Speaker 2: When I came home and DJ Drama.
- 47:41Speaker 4: I was at his studio my night with him and
- 47:43Speaker 4: Canon since and I was gearinganted might have been a
- 47:47Speaker 4: week before I was turning myself in a couple of weeks. Father,
- 47:49Speaker 4: I was turning myself into federal prison. He said, you
- 47:51Speaker 4: should do a podcast, and I really didn't know. I knew,
- 47:55Speaker 4: but I didn't know. Of course, with the way combat
- 47:58Speaker 4: Jack has paved the way for podcasts and especially with
- 48:01Speaker 4: people that look like us, I had knew about it
- 48:04Speaker 4: because I had.
- 48:04Speaker 2: Listened to some of his stuff, but I really didn't know.
- 48:07Speaker 4: So when I came home twenty seventeen, I said, heh
- 48:11Speaker 4: let me get a couple of mics and a couple
- 48:13Speaker 4: of cameras and my ship was so bootleged.
- 48:15Speaker 2: Looking, lighting was bad, the sound was fucking my shit.
- 48:19Speaker 4: But I had like huge guests, so people was like,
- 48:22Speaker 4: how fuck is he getting all these folks on his
- 48:23Speaker 4: show and his shit like you know when you first started.
- 48:28Speaker 2: But now look I have a new deal. I'm here
- 48:31Speaker 2: on your.
- 48:32Speaker 1: Show, and I heart reached out to you on this
- 48:33Speaker 1: new deal this time, right, Yes, So it was a
- 48:35Speaker 1: random Tuesday, you get the call.
- 48:37Speaker 4: Well, I had already developed a relationship with somebody over there,
- 48:42Speaker 4: and we just had been linking up and talking until
- 48:45Speaker 4: finally he said, I want to I want you if
- 48:48Speaker 4: I can monetize this for you, will you be interested
- 48:52Speaker 4: in doing the deal? And something about that word monetization
- 48:55Speaker 4: that does something to me. Oh shit, it's like some
- 48:59Speaker 4: pussy monetization.
- 49:01Speaker 2: I love that word.
- 49:02Speaker 1: I want us to be able to do a whole
- 49:04Speaker 1: clip of just you, and we're just gonna just do
- 49:07Speaker 1: it all about the streets on you but.
- 49:09Speaker 2: Going, damn you do an episode of the screen.
- 49:11Speaker 1: No, it's it's literally we got to figure out a
- 49:13Speaker 1: way to do a clip where it's just dedicated to
- 49:15Speaker 1: you and women. Now, okay, so the monetization, yeah, does
- 49:20Speaker 1: something to you?
- 49:21Speaker 2: Okay, yeah it does? Oh boy, Oh it swelled me up.
- 49:23Speaker 4: But anyway, anyway, anyway, anyway, so but but look listen.
- 49:29Speaker 1: So that's when I said, all right, because I'm sorry.
- 49:33Speaker 4: I had stopped taking my show. And like I said,
- 49:35Speaker 4: I've had some huge guests from Uncle Luke to kill
- 49:38Speaker 4: a mic Uh, to the Dream to a gangst the booth.
- 49:41Speaker 4: I've had huge, huge guests on my show.
- 49:45Speaker 1: Bumb and you're you're booking them all yourself, right because
- 49:49Speaker 1: you're just calling text okay. And they didn't mind, the
- 49:53Speaker 1: homies didn't mind if the platform wasn't set up correctly
- 49:56Speaker 1: the first time around at all.
- 49:58Speaker 3: They were just support yeah okay.
- 50:00Speaker 4: And so I was able to now transition into this
- 50:04Speaker 4: new deal.
- 50:06Speaker 2: And now here we are and I'm excited about the relaunch.
- 50:11Speaker 3: Yeh, when does the launch?
- 50:12Speaker 2: We launched this is the four it's been launched.
- 50:16Speaker 4: For three weeks now, had Pastor Troy, had the Young
- 50:19Speaker 4: Bloods t I just dropped, and then I got t
- 50:23Speaker 4: Boss from TLC coming.
- 50:24Speaker 3: I got a lot of freaking exciting Do you pre
- 50:26Speaker 3: tape a lot?
- 50:27Speaker 4: Yes, That's what I do because, as you know, not
- 50:30Speaker 4: being funny, dealing with talent, dealing with yeah, we're dealing
- 50:34Speaker 4: with talent can be a little.
- 50:35Speaker 2: Tricky at times.
- 50:36Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, especially I find it when you're dealing
- 50:39Speaker 1: with them on the text and the relationship.
- 50:40Speaker 3: They tend to.
- 50:42Speaker 4: Show up late, canceled last minute, Yeah, thirty minutes. I'm
- 50:46Speaker 4: on the way, and then I'm not gonna be there.
- 50:48Speaker 4: Can we do it tomorrow. So those type of things happen.
- 50:50Speaker 4: So it has caused me a lot of anxiety over
- 50:53Speaker 4: the years. But the fact is I still have these
- 50:55Speaker 4: relationships and I know that they're willing to do this
- 50:57Speaker 4: show for me, and that makes me continue you to go.
- 51:01Speaker 2: So that's why I'm so excited about this show.
- 51:03Speaker 4: And I want to grow it. And you know, I'm
- 51:05Speaker 4: glad that I'm able to be on this show. Because
- 51:07Speaker 4: I walked and I said this off camera, maybe I didn't.
- 51:09Speaker 4: I watched some clips of you on Instagram, and you
- 51:14Speaker 4: got a gift. Like I know, we've been talking a
- 51:16Speaker 4: lot of shit, you got a real life gift. So
- 51:18Speaker 4: I was like, when I was watching, I went through
- 51:20Speaker 4: and watched a bunch of clips. I was like, Okay,
- 51:23Speaker 4: she good, So I gotta step my ship up straight up.
- 51:26Speaker 3: Oh thank you.
- 51:27Speaker 2: That's a lot.
- 51:28Speaker 3: I always in my head, So thank you. That means
- 51:30Speaker 3: a lot to me.
- 51:31Speaker 2: That was all.
- 51:34Speaker 3: That was the streets. He's like, yo, I got the
- 51:36Speaker 3: closest deal before.
- 51:38Speaker 1: No, but look at him now, he's looking to the
- 51:41Speaker 1: ceiling for the Lord when I say the Lord every
- 51:44Speaker 1: time we talk.
- 51:44Speaker 4: Then, but no, I did no, seriously, I said, you
- 51:48Speaker 4: got a gift man, and I was like, no, seriously,
- 51:50Speaker 4: because I when I first got into it, I was.
- 51:53Speaker 2: Like over talking all the yeahs. I was like, I didn't.
- 51:56Speaker 2: I was just home somebody I didn't know. I was
- 52:00Speaker 2: just think.
- 52:01Speaker 4: So my mentor was like, go and watch other people's shows.
- 52:04Speaker 4: Go watch Larry King live.
- 52:05Speaker 2: You know.
- 52:06Speaker 4: He's like, go watch like Charlemagne and and just see
- 52:09Speaker 4: how you know. So that's how when I watched. So
- 52:12Speaker 4: that's when I went and went through.
- 52:13Speaker 2: When I was scrolling, I watched a bunch of clips.
- 52:15Speaker 2: I said, damn, she good. That said she's good. I
- 52:19Speaker 2: don't know how long you've been doing it, but whatever,
- 52:21Speaker 2: it's good.
- 52:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I just started.
- 52:23Speaker 1: But I love people's stories and people's journeys, and I
- 52:27Speaker 1: really like the hero's journey, like where it's like you're
- 52:31Speaker 1: rooting for the hero but they fall and then they
- 52:34Speaker 1: find the strength to get back up and then they
- 52:37Speaker 1: fall again. And I like your story a lot. Obviously
- 52:41Speaker 1: there's moments that we didn't get to really touch on, I.
- 52:43Speaker 2: Feel, but yeah, we covered a lot though.
- 52:45Speaker 4: I mean because personally and professionally, I continue to grow.
- 52:50Speaker 2: God continues to bless me.
- 52:54Speaker 4: So you know, from Chicago, to first coming into the
- 52:58Speaker 4: music business in the early nine these, to raising a family,
- 53:02Speaker 4: to going to prison and bouncing back.
- 53:05Speaker 1: From that, and what was the hardest thing that you
- 53:08Speaker 1: went through personally and professionally, And it could be separate times.
- 53:13Speaker 4: I mean, well, all that personally is all tied in
- 53:17Speaker 4: back to you know, all that situation happening that once
- 53:20Speaker 4: with you know what happened, the situation with my daughter
- 53:23Speaker 4: in college and me going away to the FEDS, and
- 53:26Speaker 4: you know, because it was I felt like I let
- 53:29Speaker 4: my dad and my mom down, because I felt like
- 53:32Speaker 4: I embarrassed the family, and I felt like I let
- 53:34Speaker 4: my kids down.
- 53:36Speaker 2: So that hit me like a ton of bricks.
- 53:39Speaker 4: Because you got to understand, they were all in h well,
- 53:41Speaker 4: my daughter was a freshman in college. My other two
- 53:44Speaker 4: were in high school. So you gotta understand they going
- 53:46Speaker 4: to they going to school.
- 53:48Speaker 2: Teachers asked them, he tell your daddy on the news.
- 53:50Speaker 2: You know, all that.
- 53:51Speaker 4: Really activate that concern, but they really getting fucking nosy.
- 53:54Speaker 4: Uh So I was I was embarrassed. I felt like
- 53:56Speaker 4: I let my children down. I felt like I let
- 53:59Speaker 4: my mom and daddy. I couldn't tell I told my
- 54:02Speaker 4: dad on his deathbed.
- 54:04Speaker 2: I know he heard me.
- 54:05Speaker 4: I apologize, like profusely, like I just kept saying I'm
- 54:09Speaker 4: sorry because I felt like I let him down and
- 54:11Speaker 4: he did so fucking much for me to put me
- 54:15Speaker 4: in a position to win in life. So for me
- 54:18Speaker 4: to you know, even though the people are, oh, man,
- 54:19Speaker 4: you went to do a short time in the field,
- 54:21Speaker 4: that ain't shit, you know.
- 54:22Speaker 1: But still did your ex wife at the time, did
- 54:25Speaker 1: she were you guys on decent terms where she could
- 54:27Speaker 1: give you some inspiration at all?
- 54:29Speaker 2: Not at all? And nine years later we still not.
- 54:33Speaker 2: But that's just fine.
- 54:34Speaker 4: We have we have three beautiful kids, and I just
- 54:37Speaker 4: want to have a great cordial relationship, cordial relationship with
- 54:40Speaker 4: her because our kids are our young adults and I'm
- 54:43Speaker 4: sure we're gonna be grandparents one day and have to
- 54:47Speaker 4: go to weddings, and I just want to be cordial.
- 54:49Speaker 4: But you know, I don't never speak about her because
- 54:51Speaker 4: she's not here to defend anything. So it's you know,
- 54:54Speaker 4: it would just be one side. But I'm great. I'm
- 54:57Speaker 4: in a great space in life personally and.
- 54:59Speaker 1: Profession And I was gonna say, is your professional hardest point?
- 55:03Speaker 1: Is it the same? At that time too? The jail
- 55:06Speaker 1: situation or was there another point?
- 55:09Speaker 4: There were other points. There was another point earlier in
- 55:15Speaker 4: my career when I had a situation where I was
- 55:18Speaker 4: working independent, working as an independent contractor for a label,
- 55:23Speaker 4: and I had signed a contract to get paid a monthly.
- 55:28Speaker 4: I think it was ten or fifteen thousand a month.
- 55:29Speaker 4: I forgot what it was and they got behind so
- 55:33Speaker 4: much so many months on my payment that everything in
- 55:37Speaker 4: my house I went into potential foreclosure. Eventually it was
- 55:41Speaker 4: paid and I got it out. But like things like that,
- 55:43Speaker 4: that was a challenging professionally win. And you know these
- 55:46Speaker 4: are these are labels to have never ended money. I
- 55:50Speaker 4: mean they got so it just put me, you know,
- 55:51Speaker 4: I look at things like that, situations that put me
- 55:55Speaker 4: in a hard position, like cornered me where I was like,
- 56:00Speaker 4: I'm like, come on, I'm doing the work, y'all four
- 56:02Speaker 4: or five months back on paying me, Like I just
- 56:05Speaker 4: think that's bullshit.
- 56:06Speaker 1: Did you see the I'm sure you saw the n
- 56:09Speaker 1: W A movie where ice Cube went in there.
- 56:11Speaker 3: So as an entrepreneur, this is yes.
- 56:15Speaker 1: And when I say this as an entrepreneur, I stress
- 56:17Speaker 1: this to every entrepreneur. You cannot predict when someone holds
- 56:21Speaker 1: your money, and that ship is painful because I'm like, imagine,
- 56:25Speaker 1: if someone owes you three months worth of money, you
- 56:27Speaker 1: can't necessarily call them up and be like, motherfucker.
- 56:29Speaker 3: You owe me this money.
- 56:31Speaker 1: You gotta be like, so I need the money, you know,
- 56:35Speaker 1: And you got to hear their excuses.
- 56:37Speaker 2: You eat what you kill, yeah, entrepreneur, you eat what
- 56:39Speaker 2: you kill.
- 56:40Speaker 4: Yeah, So it's it's different than just getting that every
- 56:42Speaker 4: other Friday diregular pause in the.
- 56:45Speaker 2: Money going to the Fall. One came up, like, you
- 56:47Speaker 2: eat what you fucking killed.
- 56:49Speaker 1: But when you when you saw the ice Cube movie
- 56:52Speaker 1: and he did the bad thing.
- 56:53Speaker 2: I don't hear that.
- 56:54Speaker 3: Let me tell you something. I don't know if it
- 56:56Speaker 3: was true, but man, the entrepreneur in me was like.
- 56:59Speaker 1: Yes, get it, swing it, break it, And I was like,
- 57:02Speaker 1: I just wanted to get it.
- 57:07Speaker 3: The streets boy, the streets is live in you. But yeah, no,
- 57:10Speaker 3: when I saw that scene, I didn't know if it
- 57:11Speaker 3: was real or not. That you know. But but that.
- 57:16Speaker 4: Situations that I've I've seen working at a label where situations.
- 57:22Speaker 2: Happened like that.
- 57:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 57:23Speaker 1: Sometimes when I hear Rihanna's bitch better have my money
- 57:26Speaker 1: I'll be like someone did. There was inspiration behind that ship,
- 57:31Speaker 1: you know, like I'm kidnapping your wife.
- 57:34Speaker 2: There's a lot of.
- 57:36Speaker 4: Young black men in this music business that a lot
- 57:40Speaker 4: of us are rough around the edges. So you know
- 57:45Speaker 4: when you when you play with our money. It's really
- 57:50Speaker 4: a lot of these people, these executives and these higher upies,
- 57:53Speaker 4: they was the only thing they respect is violence.
- 57:56Speaker 2: And it's sad to say.
- 58:00Speaker 4: Cat told me years ago he was that the only
- 58:02Speaker 4: the only thing that a lot of people in this
- 58:03Speaker 4: bus respect is money and violence.
- 58:06Speaker 2: But I just do right, man, just do stand up.
- 58:09Speaker 2: Yeah that's it.
- 58:10Speaker 4: Yeah, we can all make some money. We can all,
- 58:12Speaker 4: but unfortunately everybody they don't do it. And like you
- 58:15Speaker 4: just said, when you're an entrepreneur, you eat what you kill.
- 58:19Speaker 2: So you can easily get.
- 58:21Speaker 4: Thrown into the jungle where you in survival mode. And
- 58:24Speaker 4: with you, like you said, you have a child.
- 58:26Speaker 2: When you're in survival mode, I'm sure you move a
- 58:28Speaker 2: lot differently. I ain't gonna play with me and my daughter.
- 58:31Speaker 1: Oh yeah yeah, but I will say this. I've worked
- 58:33Speaker 1: for companies but they didn't pay me for six months a.
- 58:35Speaker 3: Year and been like an independent contract as an independent contract.
- 58:39Speaker 1: There's some but in white white, all white people, I'll
- 58:42Speaker 1: be like, yo, I'm gonna pull up to the gas station.
- 58:44Speaker 1: I'm calling you to fill my car in a minute,
- 58:46Speaker 1: like getting up in older white people's face, like it
- 58:49Speaker 1: is a.
- 58:50Speaker 3: Problem, sir. They owe me thousands and thousands and thousands
- 58:53Speaker 3: of dollars if you.
- 58:55Speaker 2: Just yeah, that ain't cool.
- 58:57Speaker 3: It ain't cool. But I do think it does happen
- 58:59Speaker 3: across small table industry, so for sure, definitely.
- 59:02Speaker 1: And I always tell people now, like when I look
- 59:04Speaker 1: at business, I take on big clients and small. I
- 59:08Speaker 1: never discriminate on the small because you'd be surprised when
- 59:11Speaker 1: your cash flow gets messed up, how that small business
- 59:15Speaker 1: is the one that that really saves you.
- 59:17Speaker 4: But shout outs to you, Shout out to you because
- 59:21Speaker 4: you've got a great show man.
- 59:22Speaker 2: Like I said, I now you gotta you got a
- 59:25Speaker 2: new listener.
- 59:26Speaker 3: Now, thanks, and you got a new listener.
- 59:29Speaker 2: Be I'm gonna because you got n the streets.
- 59:33Speaker 1: I'm gonna be like, yeah, we're gonna we gotta, we gotta,
- 59:35Speaker 1: we gotta do some work together. But the next time
- 59:38Speaker 1: we together, you know, if if the roles ever.
- 59:43Speaker 3: Put us in the situation where someone's cooking.
- 59:46Speaker 2: Oh wow, it's gonna be spaghetti.
- 59:50Speaker 3: I make a good spaghetti. Man. I don't know what
- 59:53Speaker 3: this Uh.
- 59:53Speaker 2: What kind of sauce you put in?
- 59:55Speaker 3: I put I even met the streets is watching? Oh
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: all right, thank you so much.
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: Let me figure out a nice play on how we're
