- 0:00Third Ne fig. Chapter fourteen. And now it came to pass that when
- 0:05Jesus had spoken these words, he turned again to the multitude, and it
- 0:09opened his mouth unto them again, saying, verily, verily, I say
- 0:14unto you, judge not that ye be not judged. For with what judgment
- 0:19ye judge, ye shall be judged, And with what measure ye meet,
- 0:23it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the moat that
- 0:28is in thy brother's eye, But considerest not the beam that is in thine
- 0:32own eye. Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, let me pull
- 0:36the moat out of thine eye, and behold, a beam is in thine
- 0:40own ee. Thou hypocrite, First cast the beam out of thine own eye.
- 0:45And then shalt thou see clearly to cast the moat out of thy brother's
- 0:50eye. Give not that which is wholly unto the dogs. Neither cast ye
- 0:55your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet. And turn
- 1:00again and rend you ask, and it shall be given unto you. Seek,
- 1:04and ye shall find knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
- 1:10For every one that asketh receiveth and he that seeketh findeth, and to him
- 1:15that knocketh it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you,
- 1:19who, if his son ask bread, will give him a stone, or
- 1:23if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent. If ye,
- 1:29then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children,
- 1:33how much more shall your father, who is in heaven, give good
- 1:36things to them that ask him. Therefore, all things, whatsoever ye would
- 1:41that men should do to you, do ye even so to them. For
- 1:46this is the law, and the prophets. Enter ye in at the straight
- 1:51gate. For why it is the gate, and broad is the way which
- 1:53lead us to destruction. And many there be who go in thereat, because
- 2:00is the gate, and narrow is the way which leadeth unto life, and
- 2:02few there be that find it. Beware of false prophets who come to you
- 2:07in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them
- 2:15by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns or figs of thistles?
- 2:22Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit, but a corrupt tree bringeth
- 2:27forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit. Neither a
- 2:32corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit
- 2:38is hewn down and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall
- 2:43know them. Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord Lord, shall enter
- 2:49into the Kingdom of heaven. But he that doeth the will of my Father,
- 2:53who is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day,
- 2:57Lord Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name, and in thy name
- 3:00have cast out devils, and in thy name done many wonderful works? And
- 3:06then will I profess unto them I never knew you. Depart from me,
- 3:12ye that work iniquity. Therefore, whoso heareth these sayings of mine and doeth
- 3:16them, I will liken him unto a wise man who built his house upon
- 3:21a rock. And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the
- 3:24winds blew and beat upon that house, and it fell not, for it
- 3:30was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine
- 3:35and doeth them not shall be likened unto a foolish man who built his house
- 3:38upon the sand. And the rain descended, and the floods came, and
- 3:45the winds blew and beat upon that house. And it fell, and great
- 3:50was the fall of it. Third Nephi, chapter fifteen. And now it
- 3:55came to pass that when Jesus had ended these sayings, he cast his eyes
- 4:00round about on the multitude, and said, unto them, behold, ye
- 4:03have heard the things which I taught before I ascended to my father. Therefore,
- 4:08whoso remembereth these sayings of mine and doeth them him, will I raise
- 4:13up at the last day. And it came to pass that when Jesus had
- 4:16said these words, he perceived that there were some among them who marveled and
- 4:21wondered what he would concerning the law of Moses. For they understood not the
- 4:27saying that old things had passed away, and that all things had become new.
- 4:31And he said, unto them, marvel not that I said unto you
- 4:34that old things had passed away, and that all things had become new.
- 4:39Behold, I say unto you that the law is fulfilled that was given unto
- 4:43Moses. Behold, I am he that gave the law, and I am
- 4:47he who covenanted with my people Israel. Therefore the law in me is fulfilled,
- 4:54for I have come to fulfill the law. Therefore, at hath an
- 4:57end. Behold, I do not destroy the prophets. For as many as
- 5:01have not been fulfilled in me verily, I say unto you shall all be
- 5:04fulfilled. And because I said unto you that old things have passed away,
- 5:10I do not destroy that which hath been spoken concerning things which are to come.
- 5:15For behold, the covenant which I have made with my people is not
- 5:17all fulfilled. But the law which was given unto Moses hath an end in
- 5:23me. Behold, I am the Law and the light. Look unto me,
- 5:28and endure to the end, and ye shall live. For unto him
- 5:32that endureth to the end, will I give eternal life. Behold, I
- 5:36have given unto you the commandments. Therefore keep my commandments. And this is
- 5:43the law and the prophets, For they truly testified of me. And now
- 5:47it came to pass that when Jesus had spoken these words, he said,
- 5:50unto those twelve whom he had chosen, ye are my disciples, and ye
- 5:57are a light unto this people, who are a remnant of the house of
- 6:00Joseph. And behold, this is the land of your inheritance, and the
- 6:04Father hath given it unto you, and not at any time hath the Father
- 6:09given me commandment that I should tell it unto your brethren at Jerusalem. Neither
- 6:14at any time hath the Father given me commandment that I should tell unto them
- 6:17concerning the other tribes of the House of Israel, whom the Father hath led
- 6:23away out of the land. This much did the Father command me, that
- 6:27I should tell unto them that other sheep I have which are not of this
- 6:30fold. Them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice,
- 6:35and there shall be one fold and one shepherd. And now, because of
- 6:42stiff nakedness and unbelief, they understood not my word. Therefore I was commanded
- 6:46to say no more of the Father concerning this thing unto them. But verily
- 6:51I say unto you that the Father hath commanded me, and I tell it
- 6:56unto you that you were separated from among them because of their their iniquity.
- 7:00Therefore it is because of their iniquity that they know not of you. And
- 7:04verily I say unto you again that the other tribes hath the Father separated from
- 7:10them, and it is because of their iniquity that they know not of them.
- 7:15And verily I say unto you that ye are they of whom I said,
- 7:18other sheep I have which are not of this fold. Them also I
- 7:23must bring, and they shall hear my voice, and there shall be one
- 7:27fold and one shepherd. And they understood me, not, for they supposed
- 7:31it had been the Gentiles. For they understood not that the Gentiles should be
- 7:35converted through their preaching. And they understood me not that I said, they
- 7:40shall hear my voice. And they understood me not that the Gentiles should not
- 7:45at any time hear my voice, that I should not manifest myself unto them,
- 7:49save it were by the Holy Ghost. But behold, ye have both
- 7:54heard my voice and seen me, And ye are my sheep, and ye
- 7:58are numbered among those whom the Father hath given me Third Ney five, chapter
- 8:03sixteen. And verily, verily, I say unto you that I have other
- 8:09sheep which are not of this land, neither of the land of Jerusalem,
- 8:13neither in any parts of that land round about whither I have been to minister.
- 8:18For they of whom I speak are they who have not as yet heard
- 8:20my voice. Neither have I at any time manifested myself unto them. But
- 8:26I have received a commandment of the Father, that I shall go unto them,
- 8:30and that they shall hear my voice and shall be numbered among my sheep,
- 8:33that there may be one fold and one shepherd. Therefore I go to
- 8:37show myself unto them. And I command you that ye shall write these sayings
- 8:41after I am gone, that if it so be that my people at Jerusalem,
- 8:46they who have seen me and have been with me in my ministry,
- 8:50do not ask the Father in my name, that they may receive a knowledge
- 8:54of you by the Holy Ghost, and also of the other tribes whom they
- 8:58know not of, That these sayings which ye shall write shall be kept and
- 9:01shall be manifested unto the gentiles, that through the fullness of the gentiles,
- 9:05the remnant of their seed, who shall be scattered forth upon the face of
- 9:09the earth because of their unbelief, may be brought in, or may be
- 9:13brought to a knowledge of ME their Redeemer. And then will I gather them
- 9:18in from the four quarters of the earth. And then will I fulfill the
- 9:22covenant which the Father hath made unto all the people of the House of Israel.
- 9:26And blessed are the gentiles because of their belief in Me in and of
- 9:31the Holy ghost which witnesses unto them of Me and of the Father. Behold,
- 9:37because of their belief in me, saith the Father, and because of
- 9:39the unbelief of you, o House of Israel, in the latter day shall
- 9:43the truth come unto the Gentiles, that the fullness of these things shall be
- 9:48made known unto them. But woe saith the Father unto the unbelieving of the
- 9:52gentiles. For notwithstanding they have come forth upon the face of this land and
- 9:58have scattered my people who are of the House of Israel, and my people
- 10:01who are of the House of Israel, have been cast out from among them,
- 10:05and have been trodden under feet by them. And because of the mercies
- 10:11of the Father unto the gentiles, and also the judgments of the Father upon
- 10:15my people who are of the House of Israel, Verily, verily, I
- 10:18say unto you that after all this, and I have caused my people who
- 10:22are of the House of Israel to be smitten and to be afflicted, and
- 10:26to be slain, and to be cast out from among them, and to
- 10:30become hated by them, and to become a hiss and a byword among them.
- 10:35And thus commandeth the Father that I should say unto you. At that
- 10:39day when the Gentiles shall sin against my gospel and shall reject the fullness of
- 10:43my Gospel, and shall be lifted up in the pride of their hearts above
- 10:48all nations and above all the people of the whole earth, and shall be
- 10:52filled with all manner of lyings, and of deceits, and of mischiefs,
- 10:56and all manner of hypocrisy, and murders, and priestcrafts, and hortoms,
- 11:01and of secret abominations. And if they shall do all those things and shall
- 11:05reject the fullness of my gospel, behold, Saith the Father, I will
- 11:11bring the fullness of my gospel from among them. And then will I remember
- 11:16my covenant which I have made unto my people, O House of Israel,
- 11:18and I will bring my gospel unto them, And I will show unto thee
- 11:24O House of Israel, that the gentiles shall not have power over you.
- 11:26But I will remember my covenant unto you, O House of Israel, and
- 11:31ye shall come unto the knowledge of the fullness of my Gospel. But if
- 11:35the gentiles will repent and return unto me, Saith the Father, behold,
- 11:39they shall be numbered among my people, O House of Israel. And I
- 11:43will not suffer my people, who are of the House of Israel, to
- 11:46go through among them and tread them down, saith the Father. But if
- 11:50they will not turn unto me and hearken unto my voice, I will suffer
- 11:56them. Yea, I will suffer my people, O House of Israel,
- 12:00that they shall go through among them, and shall tread them down. And
- 12:03they shall be a sault which hath lost its savor, which is thenceforth good
- 12:09for nothing but to be cast out and to be trodden under foot of my
- 12:13people, O House of Israel. Verily, verily, I say unto you.
- 12:18Thus hath the Father commanded me, that I should give unto this people
- 12:22this land for their inheritance. And then the words of the prophet Isaiah shall
- 12:28be fulfilled, which say thy watchman shall lift up the voice. With the
- 12:31voice. Together shall they sing, for they shall see eye to eye.
- 12:37When the Lord shall bring again Zion. Break forth into joy, sing together,
- 12:41ye waste places of Jerusalem. For the Lord hath comforted his people,
- 12:46he hath redeemed Jerusalem. The Lord hath may bare his Holy arm in the
- 12:52eye of all the nations and all the ends of the earth shall see the
- 12:56salvation of God thirty five, chapter seventeen. Behold, now it came to
- 13:05pass that when Jesus had spoken these words, he looked round about again on
- 13:09the multitude, and he said, unto them, behold, my time is
- 13:13at hand. I perceive that ye are weak, that ye cannot understand all
- 13:18my words, which I am commanded of the Father to speak unto you at
- 13:22this time. Therefore, go ye unto your homes and ponder upon the things
- 13:26which I have said, and ask of the Father in my name, that
- 13:31ye may understand, and prepare your minds for the morrow. And I come
- 13:35unto you again. But now I go unto the Father, and also to
- 13:39show myself unto the lost shribes of Israel, for they are not lost unto
- 13:45the Father, for he knoweth whither he hath taken them. And it came
- 13:50to pass that when Jesus had spoken, he cast his eyes round about again
- 13:54on the multitude, and behold, they were in tears, and did look
- 13:58steadfast upon him, as if they would ask him to tarry a little longer
- 14:03with them. And he said unto them, behold, my bowels are filled
- 14:07with compassion towards you have ye, any that are sick among you, bring
- 14:13them hither. Have ye any that are lame, or blind, or halt,
- 14:18or maimed, or leprous, or that are withered, or that are
- 14:24deaf, or that are afflicted in any manner, Bring them hither, and
- 14:30I will heal them. For I have compassion upon you. My bowels are
- 14:35filled with mercy. For I perceive that ye desire that I should show unto
- 14:41you what I have done unto your brethren at Jerusalem. For I see that
- 14:45your faith is sufficient that I should heal you. And it came to pass
- 14:50that when he had thus spoken, all the multitude with one accord, it
- 14:52go forth with their sick and they are afflicted, and their lame, and
- 14:58with their blind and with their dumb, and with all them that were afflicted
- 15:03in any manner. And he did heal them, every one as they were
- 15:07brought forth unto him. And they did all both, they who had been
- 15:11healed, and they who were whole, bow down at his feet and did
- 15:16worship him. And as many as could come, for the multitude did kiss
- 15:20his feet in so much that they did bathe his feet with their tears.
- 15:26And it came to pass that he commanded that their little children should be brought.
- 15:31So they brought their little children and set them down upon the ground round
- 15:35about him, and Jesus stood in the midst, and the multitude gave way
- 15:41till they had all been brought unto him. And it came to pass that
- 15:45when they had all been brought, and Jesus stood in the midst, he
- 15:48commanded the multitude that they should kneel down upon the ground. And it came
- 15:52to pass that when they had knelt upon the ground, Jesus groaned within himself
- 15:58and said, Father, I am troubled because of the wickedness of the people
- 16:04of the House of Israel. And when he had said these words, he
- 16:10himself also knelt upon the earth, and behold, he prayed unto the Father.
- 16:15And the things which he prayed cannot be written. And the multitude did
- 16:18bear record who heard him? And after this manner do they bear record.
- 16:25The eye hath never seen, neither hath the ear heard before so great and
- 16:30marvelous things as we saw and heard Jesus speak unto the Father. And no
- 16:36tongue can speak, neither can there be written by any man, neither can
- 16:40the hearts of men conceive of so great and marvelous things as we both saw
- 16:45and heard Jesus speak. And no one can conceive of the joy which filled
- 16:49our souls at the time we heard him pray for us unto the Father.
- 16:55And it came to pass that when Jesus had made an end of praying unto
- 16:57the Father, he arose. But so great was the joy of the multitude
- 17:02that they were overcome. And it came to pass that Jesus spake unto them
- 17:06and bade them arise, and they arose from the earth, and he said
- 17:10unto them, blessed are ye because of your faith, And now behold,
- 17:15my joy is full. And when he had said these words, he wept,
- 17:21and the multitude bare record of it. And he took their little children
- 17:25one by one and blessed them and prayed unto the Father for them. And
- 17:30when he had done this, he wept again, and he spake unto the
- 17:36multitude and said unto them, behold your little ones. And as they looked
- 17:41to behold, they cast their eyes towards heaven, and they saw the heavens
- 17:45open, and they saw angels descending out of heaven, as it were in
- 17:49the midst of fire, and they came down and encircled those little ones about,
- 17:56and they were encircled about with fire, and the Angel did minister unto
- 18:00them. And the multitude did see and hear and bear record. And they
- 18:07know that their record is true, for they all of them did see and
- 18:10hear, every man for himself. And they were in number about two thousand
- 18:15and five hundred souls, and they did consist of men, women, and
- 18:21children. End of Third Nephi, chapters fourteen through seventeen,
