- 3:19Speaker 1: She is the mother of Manuel Valentino, Frank Molina who
- 3:24Speaker 1: goes by Tino, which I love that named Tino. And
- 3:29Speaker 1: Carrie Santino went missing in April twenty eighteen in Catalina, Arizona,
- 3:35Speaker 1: and Carrie is going to share with us more about
- 3:38Speaker 1: Tino and his disappearance. So I am going to welcome
- 3:43Speaker 1: Carrie to the stage. Hi Carrie, Hi, how are you?
- 3:47Speaker 1: I am good? How are you today?
- 3:50Speaker 2: Good? Thank you for having me.
- 3:52Speaker 1: No, I want to say thank you for coming on
- 3:55Speaker 1: today and sharing Tino's story because we've had the pleasure
- 4:00Speaker 1: of talking a couple of times, and I know you've
- 4:02Speaker 1: talked with Amy what you have gone through. I will
- 4:05Speaker 1: be honest. I thought I had heard all of the
- 4:09Speaker 1: bonker bunny boiler crazy stuff that can go on with
- 4:14Speaker 1: a missing person case or true crime in general. But
- 4:17Speaker 1: I have to tell you Tino's gets right up there.
- 4:21Speaker 1: There's some crazy people involved who need to step up,
- 4:25Speaker 1: take accountability and do some talking right right, they do,
- 4:31Speaker 1: they do too well. I want to first let you
- 4:36Speaker 1: tell us a little bit about Tino, what he was
- 4:40Speaker 1: like growing up. And I am going to share the
- 4:45Speaker 1: picture that you shared with me of you and Tino
- 4:48Speaker 1: because I have to tell you it is absolutely adorable.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Yeah. The snapchat one so okay, that one when we
- 4:58Speaker 2: lived in Catalina that we were moving to Willcox. So
- 5:03Speaker 2: the night before our move Tina was going to stay
- 5:06Speaker 2: in Catalina with his girlfriend and her family because they
- 5:10Speaker 2: were having a baby. So we were moving to Willcox
- 5:13Speaker 2: and we decided to have family barbecue and stuff, and
- 5:17Speaker 2: the kids were showing me Snapchat. I kinda was familiar,
- 5:21Speaker 2: but not really, and they were showing me all these
- 5:23Speaker 2: crazy things and that one you remember, the dog wanted
- 5:26Speaker 2: to put the ears on and then you like, you're
- 5:28Speaker 2: supposed to stick your tongue out. At first I didn't
- 5:30Speaker 2: know that, so I'm just opening my mouth and Tina,
- 5:34Speaker 2: someone know, you stick your tongue out. Mom you So
- 5:37Speaker 2: we were sticking our tongues out and then and doing it.
- 5:40Speaker 2: It was just it was having to show me crazy
- 5:43Speaker 2: little things on the computer, telephones, xboxes. He was all
- 5:48Speaker 2: the kids helped me. But yeah, that was one of
- 5:50Speaker 2: the last photos when we lived in Catalina with him.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Not the last photo with him, but the last one
- 5:56Speaker 2: in Catalina before we moved to Wilcox.
- 6:00Speaker 1: So I will say Snapchat has so many adorable filters.
- 6:05Speaker 1: I do them with my granddaughter. Sadly, there is a
- 6:09Speaker 1: dark side to Snapchat that I've learned since covering true
- 6:13Speaker 1: crime that I did not know about. Snapchat, but I
- 6:17Speaker 1: still think it has some very cute aspects of it,
- 6:21Speaker 1: and this is one of them. The little dog is
- 6:23Speaker 1: just adorable to me.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Yeah, he was. He always had to like. So there's
- 6:29Speaker 2: our kids. We have four of them, and they all
- 6:31Speaker 2: had their own Xboxes and TVs in their room, and
- 6:35Speaker 2: me and my husband had ours too, and we'd all
- 6:38Speaker 2: wear those turtle beaches and we had the remotes and
- 6:41Speaker 2: we would play Xbox game. It's like Call of Duty
- 6:45Speaker 2: or whatever where you're you're all on your on a
- 6:47Speaker 2: team together. And the the kids name, our name was
- 6:52Speaker 2: the chum Clan, so we were the chump. Used to
- 6:56Speaker 2: go in and you know those games and you just
- 6:58Speaker 2: like you battle the other guys or whatever. It's kind
- 7:00Speaker 2: of like a military and you have the little guns
- 7:02Speaker 2: or whatever. And I'm not very good. And Tino and
- 7:05Speaker 2: the kids they were great.
- 7:06Speaker 1: They could and it's shocking how they have adapted to
- 7:10Speaker 1: technology and we're still trying to hunt and pack and
- 7:13Speaker 1: figure it.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Out looking up or looking down and I'm running. I'm like,
- 7:17Speaker 2: I can't get it. Tino and his little character would
- 7:19Speaker 2: always have to come over and save me, and you know,
- 7:22Speaker 2: I wouldn't even blink my eyes would be water and
- 7:24Speaker 2: I'm like, Tino, I can't do this. He's like blink, mom, blink.
- 7:27Speaker 2: You know. He was always they had to save my
- 7:31Speaker 2: character more times than any I think I may have
- 7:33Speaker 2: hindered them, but I was still part of their chunk plan,
- 7:37Speaker 2: you know.
- 7:37Speaker 1: So, so tell us about some other favorite memories you
- 7:41Speaker 1: have of Tino growing up.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Growing up, Like when he was little, he was oh man,
- 7:48Speaker 2: he was a daredevil. He had no fear for nothing.
- 7:51Speaker 2: And my sister's son, Jeremy was in BMX, so Tinox.
- 7:58Speaker 2: So Tino is like five, okay, and here's the little guy,
- 8:02Speaker 2: and Jeremy's in BMX, and they wanted to go just
- 8:05Speaker 2: ride the bike down the street to the end of
- 8:07Speaker 2: the street and then they're supposed to come right back,
- 8:09Speaker 2: and Tino's Jeremy's riding it, and Tino's on the back,
- 8:13Speaker 2: standing on the pegs and holding on to his cousin,
- 8:17Speaker 2: you know. And they go riding and instead of going straight,
- 8:20Speaker 2: they veered to the left and they went down the
- 8:23Speaker 2: other street. And my sister and are like, oh, no, no, no,
- 8:25Speaker 2: we're gonna walk down there. And see. So we're walking
- 8:28Speaker 2: and we're like, man, it's taking them awhile, like what
- 8:31Speaker 2: are they doing? Maybe Tino fell off or you know,
- 8:33Speaker 2: something happened. And we get almost to where we could
- 8:37Speaker 2: get the turn and see them, and here comes Jeremy pedaling, pedaling,
- 8:41Speaker 2: but you don't see Tino's head anymore. You see his
- 8:45Speaker 2: So they had stopped and Tino went upside down with
- 8:49Speaker 2: his feet so he's standing like a handsad.
- 8:51Speaker 1: With his hands on those pegs.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Yeah, they were like daredevil biking or whatever you wanted
- 8:57Speaker 2: to call it.
- 8:58Speaker 1: And there the crowd fel did you not have heart
- 9:01Speaker 1: failure right then? Because I have two boys and I
- 9:05Speaker 1: would have come on clue to see that.
- 9:08Speaker 2: No, and you get you want to get mad, but
- 9:10Speaker 2: they were so professional about it.
- 9:12Speaker 1: I know, it's like you don't want a dull as
- 9:14Speaker 1: JT would say, they're sparkle, but.
- 9:18Speaker 2: He's like, did you see me? Mom? And I'm like,
- 9:21Speaker 2: I did, I did see you? But he was you know,
- 9:27Speaker 2: we were all very close. We were a very close family,
- 9:29Speaker 2: so you know, we were always doing things with my
- 9:31Speaker 2: sister and our cousins and and everything. And then so yeah,
- 9:36Speaker 2: he was a dilla daredevil. And then one time after
- 9:40Speaker 2: we moved here to Wilcox and Tino. Tino came to
- 9:43Speaker 2: visit us to you know, check out the new house
- 9:45Speaker 2: whatever and visit because it was our first time ever
- 9:48Speaker 2: away from him, and so, uh they he came out.
- 9:53Speaker 2: It was just him at that time, and there was
- 9:57Speaker 2: this old, runny, beat it up picnic table out in
- 10:01Speaker 2: the yard, and so the boys decided that they were
- 10:04Speaker 2: going to paint it for me because there was a
- 10:06Speaker 2: bunch of sitting out. I mean that old paint like
- 10:10Speaker 2: rust probably had some lead, I don't know, but they
- 10:14Speaker 2: took the paint and they they painted this picnic table
- 10:18Speaker 2: and it was very pretty. I don't know if I
- 10:20Speaker 2: send you that.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Picture six hag you did, it was blurry when it
- 10:23Speaker 1: came in on my end. I'm trying to see if
- 10:27Speaker 1: I can get it while you're talking, because I wondered
- 10:30Speaker 1: what that table was. I'm like, what is this?
- 10:33Speaker 2: Yeah, they painted that. So then they're painting it, and
- 10:36Speaker 2: they even engraved it like their names and the dayt
- 10:38Speaker 2: and stuff. And then afterwards I don't honestly, I don't
- 10:43Speaker 2: think I started it, but I could have gotten a
- 10:46Speaker 2: paint fight war, and we started flinging paint on each
- 10:51Speaker 2: other and hitting each other with this very old paint
- 10:55Speaker 2: and I think I sent you that.
- 10:59Speaker 1: You did it small, but there it is.
- 11:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I still have that table, I do. It's kind
- 11:05Speaker 2: of more faded. Arizona sun is not kind. But that
- 11:10Speaker 2: we got in a paint fight over that during that
- 11:14Speaker 2: and we had paint everywhere. We had it on ourselves.
- 11:19Speaker 2: We got it on my mom's camper, her brand camper.
- 11:23Speaker 2: She was not very happy, but she was okay with it.
- 11:26Speaker 1: But but y'all had a great time right were.
- 11:29Speaker 2: When I shouldn't say we, I should say me. I'm
- 11:32Speaker 2: covered head to toe and paint. Tino, I think is
- 11:35Speaker 2: the winner because if you look, he's got like three
- 11:38Speaker 2: splatches of paint on him. But obviously he was better
- 11:43Speaker 2: at than But we we had it all over and
- 11:47Speaker 2: it was in our my mouth and it was it
- 11:50Speaker 2: was fun. We had a total a good time that day.
- 11:53Speaker 2: It was awesome. On a start.
- 11:56Speaker 1: Trying to share the picture of I believe this is
- 12:01Speaker 1: the photo with the paint all over them. It's kind
- 12:05Speaker 1: of small too, but uh, I'm like, they definitely got
- 12:09Speaker 1: a lot of paint on themselves.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Yeah, other can you see if you can see he
- 12:13Speaker 2: got like two splotches where I got him.
- 12:17Speaker 1: And that's it, and.
- 12:20Speaker 2: Those are my favorite paints and everything. But I didn't care.
- 12:23Speaker 2: It was just like, those are some memories that you
- 12:26Speaker 2: have with your kids that you'll never forget, you know.
- 12:29Speaker 2: And just I.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Will say, looking at grandma's trailer with all that paint,
- 12:34Speaker 1: I really hope that paint came off.
- 12:36Speaker 2: And that was the mild side of her trailer. But
- 12:39Speaker 2: she we did get it off the windows for her.
- 12:42Speaker 1: We did, yeah, because I'm like, uh, that could be
- 12:48Speaker 1: I could see some people being not real thrilled with
- 12:51Speaker 1: that one, right.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Yeah, Well she was used to. She's been used to
- 12:55Speaker 2: all the fun activities like that that we've had with
- 12:58Speaker 2: the kids when growing up. Like we would do when
- 13:02Speaker 2: we lived in Catalina and we had the yard in
- 13:04Speaker 2: the house, we would have air sophomores with each other
- 13:08Speaker 2: and would pick a team. It would be me on
- 13:10Speaker 2: one team and Ed on the other. So there's an
- 13:12Speaker 2: adult and my mom. She always lived with us, like
- 13:15Speaker 2: in our own trailer on the same property, and she
- 13:18Speaker 2: was the reloader, so she'd sit on the porch and
- 13:20Speaker 2: everybody knew you can't shoot Grandma. They called her GiMA.
- 13:23Speaker 2: Can't you just hand her your empty cartridges or whatever,
- 13:27Speaker 2: and she'll reload them. And so Tina and Ed always
- 13:31Speaker 2: always on the same team, and me and the other
- 13:34Speaker 2: three kids were on a team. And even though we
- 13:37Speaker 2: had the numbers, we could never beat them because they
- 13:41Speaker 2: they went in the house and made it like they
- 13:43Speaker 2: literally would pull the sofa and tip it up and
- 13:47Speaker 2: barricade the doors, barricade the sun roofs like, and one
- 13:51Speaker 2: of them you could come in like, you could come
- 13:53Speaker 2: down and come in the house and they would barricade everything.
- 13:56Speaker 2: We had no chance. Me and the other three had
- 13:59Speaker 2: no food chain to outwit, you know. And ever he was.
- 14:04Speaker 2: They were good. But so my mom was used to.
- 14:08Speaker 1: She was used to that.
- 14:09Speaker 2: Oh yeah, because we were, you know, a family. We
- 14:12Speaker 2: always played together. They were our kids were like our besties,
- 14:15Speaker 2: our best friends.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Say. The only thing we ever did is my husband
- 14:20Speaker 1: made marshmallow guns out of PBC pipes and we had
- 14:24Speaker 1: marshmallow contests. You would put them in it and you
- 14:27Speaker 1: would blow on it and you would shoot the marshmallows
- 14:30Speaker 1: out at each other.
- 14:32Speaker 2: We didn't think, wen, we didn't think.
- 14:35Speaker 1: We didn't do pay. We did marshmallows because I didn't
- 14:38Speaker 1: want to have to clean up a big mess. The
- 14:39Speaker 1: marshmallows weren't enough for me.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I get that.
- 14:45Speaker 1: So now I know. You know, Tina went missing in
- 14:50Speaker 1: April twenty eighteen. What was his life like like right
- 14:54Speaker 1: before he went missing? Was there anything unusual going on
- 14:59Speaker 1: or in anything in his life that he was concerned
- 15:02Speaker 1: about or that you were concerned about.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Well, see, he was. He wanted he wanted to move.
- 15:10Speaker 2: He was planning on moving here to Willcox with us.
- 15:14Speaker 2: He at the time of his disappearance, he had a
- 15:19Speaker 2: girlfriend that he was on again off again with, not
- 15:22Speaker 2: the same one that he has a child with. They
- 15:24Speaker 2: had the one he had a child with. They had
- 15:26Speaker 2: split up and he wanted to get back with her
- 15:30Speaker 2: and work and make things right with her. And he
- 15:33Speaker 2: knew the only way to do that was to leave Catalina.
- 15:35Speaker 2: There was just too much going on out there. But
- 15:39Speaker 2: he had gotten with this other girl, Kayla, and had
- 15:44Speaker 2: been staying with her and her mother and her little brother.
- 15:49Speaker 2: And he he told me, you know, we had been
- 15:53Speaker 2: talking for months about him coming to Willcox and living
- 15:57Speaker 2: with us, and you know, we'd build an apartment or
- 16:01Speaker 2: something on the property in him and he wanted to
- 16:05Speaker 2: make it right with you know, her son and his
- 16:08Speaker 2: son's mother. And he said that, you know, he just
- 16:12Speaker 2: he had court in April, so he said it would
- 16:14Speaker 2: have to wait until after court to see how that
- 16:17Speaker 2: would go, and that he wanted to permanently leave Calea
- 16:21Speaker 2: and get away. They'd been on again, off again. She
- 16:23Speaker 2: was she was kind of I don't know. She had
- 16:27Speaker 2: a lot of drama with her and her mom, who
- 16:30Speaker 2: he would tell me that they were just between the
- 16:32Speaker 2: two of them, they weren't. It wasn't happening. Really. They're
- 16:36Speaker 2: very crazy to him, and he wanted out, but he
- 16:39Speaker 2: had felt bad if he left because of the little
- 16:45Speaker 2: brother who was like thirteen at the time, thirteen maybe fourteen,
- 16:50Speaker 2: her little brother, Jesse, because he felt like he would
- 16:52Speaker 2: be leaving him in this household of these narcissistic women
- 16:56Speaker 2: who you know, are just in his word, they were crazy.
- 17:00Speaker 2: He's like, mom, they're crazy, like you don't even understand,
- 17:03Speaker 2: like they make.
- 17:04Speaker 1: He cared enough about that little boy to want that.
- 17:08Speaker 1: That says a lot about his personality and who he
- 17:10Speaker 1: was as a person. In my opinion, that says a lot.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Because and you know, I I did tell him, you know,
- 17:17Speaker 2: I get that you know, you feel bad, but he's
- 17:21Speaker 2: he's not your responsibility to you know, your responsibility is
- 17:25Speaker 2: you and your child and making it right with you know,
- 17:29Speaker 2: your child's mom, and you know that's what it's going
- 17:32Speaker 2: to have to be. Sometimes you have to leave situations
- 17:35Speaker 2: that are bad like that. And so he had said,
- 17:39Speaker 2: you know, after court in April, we would discuss things
- 17:43Speaker 2: and get him brought here. And so I was okay
- 17:47Speaker 2: with that, knowing that, Okay, at least we have a
- 17:49Speaker 2: date because we knew when his court date was in April,
- 17:52Speaker 2: So prior to the court date, you know, we would text.
- 17:58Speaker 2: We probably wouldn't talk. We wouldn't talk every day, you know.
- 18:01Speaker 2: It just sometimes it doesn't work out where you get
- 18:03Speaker 2: to physically on the phone, but you you know, you
- 18:07Speaker 2: communicate and all that. And sometimes because I knew some
- 18:12Speaker 2: of the people from living out there weren't the greatest
- 18:16Speaker 2: of people to be involved with or have friends with,
- 18:19Speaker 2: or you know, like all those kids in Catalina, like
- 18:22Speaker 2: my kids grew up with them kids, and some of
- 18:25Speaker 2: them goose to go to the wrong path of life,
- 18:29Speaker 2: and t you know, didn't want to go that route.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Some of it he had gotten into. But he wanted out,
- 18:36Speaker 2: and so I told him, you know, just the needed
- 18:41Speaker 2: to come and court. He had gotten in trouble and
- 18:45Speaker 2: that's why he had court and he knew he had
- 18:47Speaker 2: done wrong and was gonna do what the court said.
- 18:51Speaker 2: And I thought court was on April fourth. So April fourth,
- 18:55Speaker 2: I called him and I was like, how did court go?
- 18:59Speaker 2: And he's like, it wasn't today. It's on Friday. And
- 19:02Speaker 2: I said, okay, I thought it. I thought it was today,
- 19:05Speaker 2: and I would. I was trying to have a conversation.
- 19:07Speaker 2: He's like, mama network and I was like, oh okay,
- 19:10Speaker 2: I'll let you go. I don't want to get you
- 19:11Speaker 2: in trouble. He's like okay. I was like, call me
- 19:14Speaker 2: after court on Friday, and so he's like okay, love you,
- 19:18Speaker 2: love you too. And then Friday rolls around and I
- 19:24Speaker 2: didn't hear from him, and I thought, well, maybe he's
- 19:26Speaker 2: still at court. I don't know how long court's going
- 19:28Speaker 2: to be. And then I didn't hear all day, so
- 19:32Speaker 2: I messaged him and I asked, you know, house court
- 19:36Speaker 2: and he said good, that he was at work and
- 19:39Speaker 2: he would and for me to call him the next day,
- 19:42Speaker 2: but not early because he would be working late, and
- 19:45Speaker 2: I had a tendency to call them very early morning,
- 19:48Speaker 2: you know, and you know, need to sleep in because
- 19:51Speaker 2: he works late. So that that was the last like
- 19:57Speaker 2: actual time that I physically talked to him was the fourth,
- 20:02Speaker 2: but then the sixth and then ah yeah, and then
- 20:08Speaker 2: after that it was just text messages and things went
- 20:11Speaker 2: a little sideways from there. So I would I would
- 20:21Speaker 2: call and message him, and he really wasn't giving, like
- 20:26Speaker 2: like how is normal, you know, you learn the patterns
- 20:28Speaker 2: in the way that people, so it really didn't seem
- 20:31Speaker 2: quite like him. But I figured maybe he's stressed because
- 20:34Speaker 2: a court. Maybe he doesn't want to tell me something.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Maybe I'm being too pushy about you know, okay courts
- 20:40Speaker 2: over come, move get away from those people.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Let's shirt life, you know, and you were doing what
- 20:47Speaker 1: a mom does.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, And he wouldn't respond, right, And then I
- 20:55Speaker 2: just figured maybe that's him. And then I got a
- 20:58Speaker 2: weird snapchat from which was weird because we normally didn't
- 21:03Speaker 2: send messages through snap to each other. We would just text.
- 21:08Speaker 2: And I got a snapchat from him, and it was
- 21:13Speaker 2: a bad snap Like at the time, I did not
- 21:18Speaker 2: I thought it. I thought it was Tino. At the time,
- 21:20Speaker 2: I now know that I don't. I don't believe at
- 21:23Speaker 2: all that that text on that snap was Tino. It
- 21:27Speaker 2: came across and it said some bad things, and I
- 21:31Speaker 2: was like, what the heck? And so I didn't send
- 21:35Speaker 2: a response on snap I went and I responded on
- 21:39Speaker 2: the regular message and I was like, call me, like now, like,
- 21:43Speaker 2: what is going on? Why would you send me that?
- 21:46Speaker 2: And I'm telling him call me, text me whatever. No response,
- 21:50Speaker 2: no response. So I go and I talked to Ed
- 21:52Speaker 2: and I'm like, I don't I don't understand what is this,
- 21:54Speaker 2: Like why would he do that? Like what is this?
- 21:57Speaker 2: And his dad was like, Ed was like, just talk
- 22:00Speaker 2: to him and find out what he's doing. Why is
- 22:03Speaker 2: he posting that on Snapchat? So I hate and I'm
- 22:08Speaker 2: getting nothing, nothing, And then then I started getting sick,
- 22:14Speaker 2: not necessarily from that, but I got sick and I
- 22:18Speaker 2: ended up in the hospital, and so I'm not doing
- 22:24Speaker 2: a lot of texting at that point because I'm I'm
- 22:26Speaker 2: look for the text because I thought it was, you know.
- 22:29Speaker 2: And then I'm sick and now I'm in the hospital
- 22:31Speaker 2: here in Wilcox and they're running tests to see what's wrong.
- 22:35Speaker 2: With me. So I'm like, okay, I got to take
- 22:37Speaker 2: a minute and just figure out what's wrong with me
- 22:39Speaker 2: so I can get better. And they do in all
- 22:41Speaker 2: these tests, and I'm in the hospital room and the
- 22:44Speaker 2: doctors leave and my phone rings, and so I answer it. Now,
- 22:50Speaker 2: mind you. I can't barely move. I can't even walk. Really,
- 22:54Speaker 2: I'm in a lot of pain, and they're trying to
- 22:56Speaker 2: figure out what's wrong. And I get this all and
- 22:59Speaker 2: its Tino's friend, Venise, this woman that he would go
- 23:03Speaker 2: and stay with when things got too heated between him
- 23:06Speaker 2: and Kayla. He would go to his house. That way
- 23:10Speaker 2: it would be calm, you know, right. She calls me
- 23:13Speaker 2: and she's not so calm. She's in hysterics and she's like,
- 23:16Speaker 2: where is Tino? What have you done with Tino? Like
- 23:18Speaker 2: where is he? And I'm like, wait, what what are
- 23:21Speaker 2: you talking about? He's probably at work and she's like no,
- 23:25Speaker 2: like I can't find him. He's not responding to my messages,
- 23:29Speaker 2: he won't text me back. And I'm like, you know what,
- 23:32Speaker 2: I'm having the same problem with him, Like he's not
- 23:34Speaker 2: responding back to me. I explained to her about the
- 23:36Speaker 2: text that I got on the snapchat and like that
- 23:40Speaker 2: wasn't that didn't even remotely seem like him, Like I
- 23:44Speaker 2: don't know. I haven't been able to talk to him either,
- 23:47Speaker 2: and I said, and he won't return any of my
- 23:49Speaker 2: text messages and she's so then she she starts going
- 23:53Speaker 2: in hysterics and she's like he's missing, he's gone, he's gone,
- 23:57Speaker 2: he's gone. And I'm like, look, Benise, I'm in the hospital.
- 24:00Speaker 2: I'm gonna go check out. I'm going to go home.
- 24:01Speaker 2: I'm gonna get ed and we're going to figure this out.
- 24:04Speaker 2: Like just give me a minute to get out of
- 24:05Speaker 2: his hospital. So I'm getting dressed and the doctors come
- 24:09Speaker 2: in and they're like, what are you doing. You need
- 24:11Speaker 2: to be in bed. This is what we found. This
- 24:12Speaker 2: is what we need to do. And I was like, look,
- 24:16Speaker 2: I just got a phone call. My son is missing.
- 24:18Speaker 2: I gotta go. I gotta real fast. Then I will
- 24:21Speaker 2: come back like I promised. I will come back as
- 24:23Speaker 2: soon as I get this handled. So I go home
- 24:28Speaker 2: and I tell ed and I'm like, the niece called me,
- 24:32Speaker 2: this is what she's saying. I call her back. She
- 24:35Speaker 2: explains to me that there was some issues with some
- 24:39Speaker 2: of the people out there. So I start calling everybody
- 24:42Speaker 2: on his phone list because I had control. I wouldn't
- 24:47Speaker 2: say control. I had access to his phone because we
- 24:49Speaker 2: paid the cellphone right a year and a half earlier,
- 24:55Speaker 2: when his child was born. I's how we got me
- 24:58Speaker 2: to get him a brand new phone. He was like,
- 25:00Speaker 2: want better pictures of the baby, bumy. I bought a
- 25:04Speaker 2: really good phone at that time, the newest ones that
- 25:06Speaker 2: they had, right, And so I had access to it
- 25:09Speaker 2: to him and all the kids, like I could see
- 25:12Speaker 2: their last location or who they texted, who they called,
- 25:15Speaker 2: you know, with Apple. And so I'm calling, I'm calling
- 25:19Speaker 2: people from his contact list, and I'm and I'm calling,
- 25:22Speaker 2: and everyone's just like, yeah, he's missing. This happened, This happened.
- 25:25Speaker 2: And I and I'm like, I don't understand, Like, I
- 25:28Speaker 2: don't understand what you mean. There was like a falling
- 25:29Speaker 2: out between him and Kayla. There was a falling out
- 25:32Speaker 2: between him and Cody Shape and all these other people,
- 25:35Speaker 2: and it was just kind of a blur at that point.
- 25:38Speaker 2: And so I thought, you know what, I'm gonna call Kayla.
- 25:42Speaker 2: I'm gonna call Kayla and find out what is going on.
- 25:46Speaker 2: So I call her and I say Hey, Kayla, how's
- 25:49Speaker 2: it going. How are you a good? I'm good? Okay.
- 25:53Speaker 2: How are you and Tino doing? You know, because I
- 25:55Speaker 2: knew that they always were fighting, so I'm playing, how
- 25:58Speaker 2: are you and Tino doing? She's like good. I said,
- 26:02Speaker 2: where's Tino by the way, like where's the apt She's like, oh,
- 26:06Speaker 2: he's not here right now. And that's when I lost
- 26:10Speaker 2: it and I said, I know he's not there. He's missing.
- 26:13Speaker 2: Everybody's calling me, everybody's telling me he's not missing. Where
- 26:16Speaker 2: is he? And then she starts, oh, I don't know.
- 26:19Speaker 2: I couldn't. I don't know. I tried to find him.
- 26:21Speaker 2: I've been looking for me and my mom and we
- 26:23Speaker 2: can't find him. And I said, what do you mean
- 26:25Speaker 2: you can't find him? Like what are you saying? And
- 26:30Speaker 2: she just start saying I didn't mean for this to happen.
- 26:32Speaker 2: I didn't mean for this to happen. And I said,
- 26:35Speaker 2: didn't mean for what? What are you talking about, Kayla?
- 26:38Speaker 2: If something happened, why wouldn't you call me immediately? You
- 26:41Speaker 2: have call me and be like, hey, something happened. You
- 26:45Speaker 2: need to get to Catalina. Nothing. So then she starts
- 26:48Speaker 2: crying and I can hear people in the background, but
- 26:51Speaker 2: I couldn't understand their words, you know. So she just
- 26:56Speaker 2: starts crying and saying, I didn't mean for this to happen.
- 26:59Speaker 2: I didn't mean for this to happen. And I don't
- 27:00Speaker 2: know where he is. Hangs up on me. So I
- 27:03Speaker 2: call her back like three times, no answer. So I'm like,
- 27:06Speaker 2: you know what, something something happened. That's when that that
- 27:10Speaker 2: feeling sinks in and you're like, something's off right now.
- 27:14Speaker 2: One he's not responded to. The crazy girlfriend is now
- 27:19Speaker 2: saying she didn't mean for something to happen.
- 27:21Speaker 1: She won't tell me what, and she told you everything
- 27:23Speaker 1: was fine in the beginning. She I mean saying, right.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Why would you say that right off the.
- 27:29Speaker 1: Bat we're fine? I would have been like, he's visit
- 27:32Speaker 1: week I you know, I would have been a blubbering mess.
- 27:36Speaker 2: Right, you would think that. So Ed and I decide,
- 27:40Speaker 2: you know what, we're gonna go. We're gonna go to
- 27:41Speaker 2: Catalina and we're going to talk to people. But before
- 27:44Speaker 2: we do that, I'm going to call the police because
- 27:48Speaker 2: I need to get the police involved. There. Something happened.
- 27:50Speaker 2: I don't know what. All I know at this point
- 27:52Speaker 2: is that he's missing and he has no communication with anybody,
- 27:55Speaker 2: although his phone was still on. So I'm trying to
- 28:00Speaker 2: find out like how to track the location, try to
- 28:02Speaker 2: do all that. So call the police. I'm in will Cox.
- 28:07Speaker 2: I call the police and they said that that I
- 28:12Speaker 2: couldn't do a missing person report. I could do like
- 28:15Speaker 2: a well visit check up or whatever. He did an address.
- 28:21Speaker 2: I was like, oh, okay, so I don't have the
- 28:24Speaker 2: physical address, like, oh, their addresses one one, one whatever.
- 28:28Speaker 2: I just knew exactly where to go, the streets and
- 28:31Speaker 2: where to go cat me. We're all, oh, I'm going
- 28:35Speaker 2: to house. Okay, I know where that's at, you know
- 28:37Speaker 2: what I mean. So I couldn't give an address to
- 28:42Speaker 2: Kayla's house, but I mentioned Cody's shape because everybody kept
- 28:46Speaker 2: saying him and Tino had a falling out, there was something.
- 28:49Speaker 2: Kayla had also had said that her mom had taken
- 28:54Speaker 2: Tino to Cody's house, but she couldn't couldn't give me
- 28:58Speaker 2: the date either. She just said, my mom dropped him
- 29:00Speaker 2: off at Cody's house. So I'm talking to the police
- 29:04Speaker 2: on the phone and I'm like, you know, they're saying
- 29:06Speaker 2: that he was at Cody went to Cody's house, Cody
- 29:09Speaker 2: Shave's house, and I say the name, and the cop
- 29:11Speaker 2: knew the new He knew who Cody Shave was, and
- 29:14Speaker 2: he knew who his mom, Pam was, and he knew
- 29:16Speaker 2: where that house was. So he said, I'll go over there,
- 29:20Speaker 2: I'll do a well check up, see if Tino's there,
- 29:23Speaker 2: and I'll get back to you. So I and I
- 29:25Speaker 2: are packing. We're packing fast because we're going to go
- 29:27Speaker 2: to Catalina. Right the police officer he calls me back
- 29:31Speaker 2: and he says he went over to the residence. The
- 29:33Speaker 2: gate was locked, it didn't look like anybody was home,
- 29:36Speaker 2: but he called Cody's mom, Pam, and talked to her,
- 29:41Speaker 2: and she had told him that Cody wasn't home right now,
- 29:44Speaker 2: he hadn't been home for a couple of days, and
- 29:46Speaker 2: that she was no longer in Catalina, that she'd gone
- 29:49Speaker 2: to California, and that she had no idea who Tino was.
- 29:53Speaker 2: And I told him that's a lie. Like our kids
- 29:55Speaker 2: were up together like a lot. She knows who Cody
- 29:59Speaker 2: is or Tino is Cody either. They were friends growing up.
- 30:02Speaker 2: You know, Cody was a couple of years younger than
- 30:04Speaker 2: Tino and Tino. Cody would get picked on and Tino
- 30:06Speaker 2: would defend him, And I mean.
- 30:09Speaker 1: She knew who you.
- 30:12Speaker 2: Growing up with there. All your kids know each other
- 30:14Speaker 2: out there, right, and so I mean they might not
- 30:19Speaker 2: know our names. Like they called me, you know's mom?
- 30:22Speaker 2: That was my name? Right? So I knew that was
- 30:25Speaker 2: a lie, and I thought, all right, fine, something something's
- 30:28Speaker 2: really bad. We go to Catalina. First thing we do
- 30:32Speaker 2: is we go over to cody shaveshouse. We go over
- 30:34Speaker 2: there and it is like the officer said it was.
- 30:38Speaker 2: The gate was locked. There was some stuff in the yard,
- 30:41Speaker 2: but there wasn't anybody wasn't home and it was locked.
- 30:44Speaker 2: And so we were leaving and we're going to go
- 30:48Speaker 2: start going to Kayla's. We're going to start go and
- 30:50Speaker 2: talk to all these people again in person now. And
- 30:55Speaker 2: this guy comes up in a in a truck and
- 30:58Speaker 2: an older guy, and I've never seen him before, and
- 31:03Speaker 2: he asked what we were doing over there, and I said,
- 31:06Speaker 2: I'm looking for Cody to ask him where my son is.
- 31:10Speaker 2: Do you know Cody? And at that time that guy
- 31:13Speaker 2: said that he was a friend of Cody's mother and
- 31:16Speaker 2: he was going over to check on him. Because he
- 31:18Speaker 2: heard some things were going on and he wanted to
- 31:21Speaker 2: talk to him. And I said, well, I'm trying to
- 31:24Speaker 2: find Cody, to find my son because something happened. And
- 31:27Speaker 2: the guy, it's the weirdest thing. The guy hands me
- 31:32Speaker 2: a little Bible and he says that he'll pray for me,
- 31:35Speaker 2: and I need to pray for what's going on. And
- 31:37Speaker 2: I was like, I don't watch your Bible. What are
- 31:39Speaker 2: you talking about? You're gonna I should pray about what's
- 31:42Speaker 2: going on? Like, what do you know that you're I know?
- 31:46Speaker 1: I'm like, why is he telling you you need to pray?
- 31:48Speaker 1: What does he know?
- 31:50Speaker 2: Right? So I was like, I don't want your bible.
- 31:54Speaker 2: I didn't take it. And we leave and he follows us,
- 31:58Speaker 2: and so we go to the gas station and then
- 32:00Speaker 2: that's when he kind of leaves, so he stops following us,
- 32:03Speaker 2: and I was like, that is really weird. Later we
- 32:07Speaker 2: find that guy is Yeah, so later we did. We
- 32:14Speaker 2: did find out, so, but before that we have no clue.
- 32:17Speaker 2: We're just like, it's crazy. I go when I talk
- 32:20Speaker 2: to Kayla, I'm talking to everybody there. Kayla's telling me.
- 32:24Speaker 2: Now I'm at her house right and I'm talking to her,
- 32:30Speaker 2: and she's she won't she won't give me really much
- 32:34Speaker 2: of anything other than that her mom took Tino at
- 32:37Speaker 2: about one thirty in the morning over to Cody's shaves
- 32:40Speaker 2: and dropped him off because Cody would not stop calling
- 32:44Speaker 2: Valentino's phone, blowing it up or whatever, telling him that
- 32:47Speaker 2: he needed to come and fix whatever happened between them happened.
- 32:53Speaker 2: And I said, well, what were you guys doing? And
- 32:55Speaker 2: she's like, we were just laying down together, relaxing and
- 32:58Speaker 2: having a night. And I said, why would he Why
- 33:01Speaker 2: would he decide to get up from you guys are
- 33:04Speaker 2: having a good time or whatever, get leave you at
- 33:06Speaker 2: one thirty in the morning and go over and handle
- 33:09Speaker 2: this at one thirty in the morning. And if and
- 33:11Speaker 2: if he was fighting with Cody, why might take him
- 33:15Speaker 2: over there and just drop him off? Why would you
- 33:18Speaker 2: do that? And and she was like, I don't, I
- 33:20Speaker 2: don't know, You'll have to ask my mom. Well, cool
- 33:22Speaker 2: Cosey comes her mother, and her mother pushes Kayla back
- 33:26Speaker 2: into the house and kind of shoves me out, and
- 33:28Speaker 2: I was like, no, you're gonna You're gonna talk to me,
- 33:30Speaker 2: like where where's Tino? Like what is going on shuts.
- 33:34Speaker 2: The door wouldn't even answer after that, so they closed
- 33:37Speaker 2: it off to me right off the bat.
- 33:39Speaker 1: So then we start that's not suspicious at all, is
- 33:42Speaker 1: it not at all?
- 33:43Speaker 2: No? So then we go up and we start talking
- 33:48Speaker 2: to other people, and then they start telling me a story,
- 33:52Speaker 2: a story about Cody and Tino had this falling out,
- 33:57Speaker 2: and somehow Cody is driving Cody's car and he hits Tino.
- 34:02Speaker 2: Tino didn't have a car. He hits Tino, Tino lived,
- 34:06Speaker 2: put Tino in the car and took him out to
- 34:08Speaker 2: the desert and buried him, killed him whatever. The story
- 34:14Speaker 2: story carries from person to person, whether he was hit
- 34:19Speaker 2: with the car or hit with the truck, the truck
- 34:23Speaker 2: being that truck that we went and saw over at
- 34:25Speaker 2: Cody's property. That so then I asked, well, who's the
- 34:29Speaker 2: guy let's go talk to him again. He offered me
- 34:31Speaker 2: a bible. Maybe he'll be a good person. Right, No,
- 34:36Speaker 2: that's Cody's dad, Arthur's shave No.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Oh shebang ben yeh he okay, hold on, let me
- 34:44Speaker 1: just make sure I understand this. So Cody's dad is
- 34:47Speaker 1: the one who offered you a bible when you said
- 34:50Speaker 1: you were looking for Cody and your son Tino. He
- 34:53Speaker 1: didn't volunteer and say, oh, Cody's my son, Tino and
- 34:58Speaker 1: him No, I thing. He just offered you a Bible
- 35:02Speaker 1: and to pray. Okay.
- 35:04Speaker 2: He didn't even tell me his dad. He told me
- 35:06Speaker 2: he was a friend of Cody's mother.
- 35:09Speaker 1: Why would he just lie for Cody too?
- 35:12Speaker 2: Something happened with our kids, right, Nothing? Not that. So
- 35:18Speaker 2: we're talking to people and I'm still trying to get
- 35:21Speaker 2: the police to get involved.
- 35:23Speaker 1: I said, say, have they fouled anything at this point?
- 35:26Speaker 2: No, No, they wouldn't. So I'm calling and still calling,
- 35:30Speaker 2: being like, look, I'm getting this information and I'm telling
- 35:32Speaker 2: them and they they they tell me someone will be
- 35:36Speaker 2: in touch. No one ever got in touch. It took
- 35:39Speaker 2: me finding Cody's car before the police would actually get involved.
- 35:45Speaker 2: And I found the car because one of his friends
- 35:49Speaker 2: or they're all interconnected, was like, yeah, his car broke
- 35:52Speaker 2: down after whatever happened, and he got it to the
- 35:55Speaker 2: Valero gas station and it's parked out there. So I
- 35:59Speaker 2: went to the gas station. It's evening time on like
- 36:02Speaker 2: the second day of us being up there, and I
- 36:06Speaker 2: see the car and I walk up to the car
- 36:08Speaker 2: and the windshield had a hole in the center of
- 36:12Speaker 2: the windshield. And so I'm telling it, I'm like, does
- 36:16Speaker 2: that look like maybe.
- 36:17Speaker 1: Maybe the show like a head hit it or something.
- 36:20Speaker 2: It doesn't look I don't. Honestly, I can't tell you
- 36:23Speaker 2: what it looks like when a body car because I've
- 36:26Speaker 2: never seen that. But there was a hole in the
- 36:30Speaker 2: center of the of the windshield and it was pushing inward,
- 36:37Speaker 2: like the glass wasn't coming out, it was like pushing in.
- 36:39Speaker 1: So somebody from outside the car hit it to push
- 36:42Speaker 1: in or.
- 36:43Speaker 2: Something, because it was only a hole like this, So
- 36:47Speaker 2: maybe like either a baseball bat or something or something,
- 36:52Speaker 2: because I kind of assumed if it was a body,
- 36:54Speaker 2: it would have been more of a body imprint versus
- 36:57Speaker 2: a hole.
- 37:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know.
- 37:01Speaker 2: And so I call the police again and I'm like, look,
- 37:03Speaker 2: this is what they're telling me. I have the car,
- 37:05Speaker 2: this is where the car is. Okay, they say they're
- 37:09Speaker 2: going to send somebody. So we're waiting and waiting and waiting,
- 37:12Speaker 2: and then we notice the police officer pull in and
- 37:16Speaker 2: so we're waiting and I'm like, I'll just let him
- 37:18Speaker 2: get out and sang or whatever. Pully never gets out,
- 37:21Speaker 2: so I tell it I'm going to go over there
- 37:23Speaker 2: and just let him know, like, hey, we're the ones
- 37:25Speaker 2: who've been calling, this is the car, this is what
- 37:28Speaker 2: we've been told. So I go over there and his
- 37:30Speaker 2: windows up, so I knock on his window, almost like
- 37:35Speaker 2: if a cop would knock on your window, right on
- 37:38Speaker 2: his window, and he rolls it down like this, and
- 37:40Speaker 2: he's like, how can I help you? And I said, well,
- 37:42Speaker 2: I'm I'm Carrie. I'm the one who's been calling about
- 37:45Speaker 2: my son being missing and the car that you hit
- 37:49Speaker 2: him or whatever. And he didn't know anything about it.
- 37:52Speaker 2: He was like, I don't know what you're talking about.
- 37:54Speaker 2: And I was like, what do you mean, Like you
- 37:55Speaker 2: don't know what I'm talking about, Like I've been calling
- 37:57Speaker 2: the police for several days now, trying to get someone
- 38:00Speaker 2: to come and talk to me and help me find
- 38:02Speaker 2: my son. And he didn't know. So he tells me,
- 38:05Speaker 2: go back to your car. I'll call it in and
- 38:08Speaker 2: find out what's going on. And I'm like, this is weird,
- 38:11Speaker 2: Like I don't understand this. And then a couple more
- 38:16Speaker 2: police officers show up and show up and I'm like, okay,
- 38:19Speaker 2: now they they've heard something something's happening car. They're gonna
- 38:23Speaker 2: tape it off. They're gonna do something because here's a
- 38:25Speaker 2: vehicle that possibly could have been used as a weapon.
- 38:29Speaker 1: Right right, I mean that makes sense to me. That
- 38:31Speaker 1: is a crime potential crime scene. And you want to
- 38:34Speaker 1: write cordon off not letting him by touch it.
- 38:37Speaker 2: Hey, Nope, they never They look at the car and
- 38:42Speaker 2: then they don't do anything else. So I walk over
- 38:45Speaker 2: there because I'm getna, I'm getting a little mad, and
- 38:47Speaker 2: I'm like, what's going I'm Carrie, I'm I'm Valentino's mother,
- 38:51Speaker 2: you know what's going on. And they tell me go
- 38:54Speaker 2: back to your car and just wait, we'll be over
- 38:56Speaker 2: to talk to you. And they're kind of talking me
- 38:57Speaker 2: to me, and I'm like, all right, whatever. So I
- 39:00Speaker 2: go back there, and about twenty minutes later, one of
- 39:03Speaker 2: the officers come over and he hands me a pamphlet
- 39:07Speaker 2: and there's an incident number on it and on the
- 39:10Speaker 2: inside it has a phone number and he tells me,
- 39:14Speaker 2: tomorrow morning call this number. We're gonna get someone assigned,
- 39:18Speaker 2: you know, to talk with you, to the case or whatever.
- 39:20Speaker 2: And I said the case, Like, what do you mean
- 39:21Speaker 2: if there's an incident what is this? What can someone
- 39:24Speaker 2: explain to me? And right, that's all I can tell
- 39:27Speaker 2: you is, you know you should leave. Go And I
- 39:30Speaker 2: was like, I'm not leaving. What are you gonna do
- 39:31Speaker 2: with the car? Like? What if someone comes and takes
- 39:33Speaker 2: the car? We wait there, and that officer goes back
- 39:38Speaker 2: when we're waiting, and they're all just like they're not
- 39:42Speaker 2: even like doing detective work. They're just all standing over
- 39:45Speaker 2: there like visiting shit chatting. Yeah, so I go back
- 39:49Speaker 2: over there again. I'm like, Okay, what's going on? And
- 39:51Speaker 2: I'm getting kind of mad, and I'm like, if someone
- 39:53Speaker 2: needs to explain to me, I don't understand. I have
- 39:55Speaker 2: an incident number. I need to know what's going on,
- 39:57Speaker 2: Like who am I calling this number in the morn
- 40:00Speaker 2: learning to an officer. One of the officers tells me
- 40:02Speaker 2: that I needed to calm down or I would be
- 40:04Speaker 2: arrested that I should It's just better if I just
- 40:07Speaker 2: leave the situation right now and just go back home.
- 40:11Speaker 1: Well, okay, why would you get arrested for just asking questions?
- 40:18Speaker 2: Maybe it was because I had said, like in a
- 40:20Speaker 2: sharper tone. I was like, you know, I need to
- 40:23Speaker 2: know what's going on. But I mean I didn't curse
- 40:24Speaker 2: or anything.
- 40:25Speaker 1: Your child's missing. I mean, who wouldn't. I mean, I
- 40:28Speaker 1: have to tell you I probably would have been arrested
- 40:30Speaker 1: then because I would have been just as bad, if
- 40:34Speaker 1: probably not crazier.
- 40:36Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, thank god for my husband because he brings
- 40:39Speaker 2: me down.
- 40:40Speaker 1: Okay, so you've got your I've got my double h
- 40:42Speaker 1: and he would he would bring me back to reality.
- 40:46Speaker 1: So did they take the car.
- 40:49Speaker 2: No, they never did. So we did leave, but we
- 40:52Speaker 2: left and we parked up on the hill and we
- 40:55Speaker 2: watched the whole night in the truck to make sure
- 40:59Speaker 2: who was going to come and go to that car.
- 41:01Speaker 2: I can tell you to people come and go for
- 41:03Speaker 2: that car. You know, we watched people. I wrote it
- 41:06Speaker 2: down everything, but none of them were Cody. And then
- 41:10Speaker 2: the next morning I called the number and they said
- 41:15Speaker 2: they were going to assign it to a detective and
- 41:17Speaker 2: that a detective would be in touch with me. And
- 41:20Speaker 2: I told, you know, I had explained them. I said,
- 41:22Speaker 2: I'm in Catalina. We live in Willcox. I have my
- 41:25Speaker 2: other three kids at home. They weren't home alone there
- 41:27Speaker 2: with my mother. And he said, go home, check on
- 41:31Speaker 2: your kids, get everything, you know, whatever, and this new
- 41:34Speaker 2: detective will be in touch with you. Okay. I felt
- 41:38Speaker 2: a little better because I was like, all.
- 41:39Speaker 1: Right, fine, they're doing something.
- 41:41Speaker 2: Somebody's going to do something. And we did. It had
- 41:43Speaker 2: been like three days. We needed to get back home.
- 41:46Speaker 2: So we go to the gas station to get gassed,
- 41:49Speaker 2: and you know who pulls in Cody and.
- 41:52Speaker 1: His dad or you know, friend of the mom, the
- 41:56Speaker 1: mother's So.
- 41:57Speaker 2: They pull in and we're sitting in the truck because
- 41:59Speaker 2: we just filled up, and we're just watching him, and
- 42:01Speaker 2: I'm like, what the hell? And they're trying to hook
- 42:04Speaker 2: up Cody's car because it's not running to his dad's
- 42:08Speaker 2: little truck to tow it away it away truck, and
- 42:11Speaker 2: I'm like, you know what this We're gonna end this.
- 42:13Speaker 2: We're gonna We're gonna end this right now. I'm gonna
- 42:15Speaker 2: go talk to Cody. So I get out and I say,
- 42:18Speaker 2: I have my hands for All I said was Hey, Cody,
- 42:20Speaker 2: where's Tino. He freaks, He jumps goes over. He my
- 42:25Speaker 2: husband had walked over too, and he bumped in into
- 42:28Speaker 2: my husband and all my husband said was hey, where's Tino?
- 42:31Speaker 2: Like that was it. He was really nice about it.
- 42:33Speaker 2: Cody freaks. He starts yelling. His dad starts yelling at me,
- 42:37Speaker 2: what are you doing to my son? I was like,
- 42:39Speaker 2: I just want to know where my kid is, Like,
- 42:41Speaker 2: where's my son? And then he starts screaming.
- 42:44Speaker 1: Call the police, Call the police.
- 42:45Speaker 2: She's gonna hurt my kid. And I was like, I
- 42:49Speaker 2: just want to know where my kid is. Your kid
- 42:51Speaker 2: hurt my kid? Like what are you talking about? And
- 42:54Speaker 2: then D's like carry stop. Look and we look and
- 42:57Speaker 2: the whole gas station is full of people and they're
- 43:00Speaker 2: all looking somewhere on their phones, and I'm like, oh
- 43:02Speaker 2: my god, the cops are going to come and it's
- 43:04Speaker 2: going to be a bad thing. So it's like, you
- 43:07Speaker 2: know what, you need to tell me where Tino is.
- 43:09Speaker 2: And that's it. Like, that's it, it's all.
- 43:12Speaker 1: I need to know. Tell me where he is, and
- 43:13Speaker 1: you can go about your life.
- 43:15Speaker 2: So he gets his son and is truck and they
- 43:16Speaker 2: leave and then they come back and they're trying to
- 43:19Speaker 2: get the car, and that was a big ordeal. But
- 43:22Speaker 2: Ed is like, we got to go. We're going to
- 43:23Speaker 2: do with the police on the phone told us, and
- 43:25Speaker 2: we're going to take the proper steps to do this. Okay, Fine,
- 43:29Speaker 2: we do that, we go home, we check on our kids.
- 43:33Speaker 2: We're having to explain to them, you know, something happened
- 43:36Speaker 2: with your brother. We haven't you know. My one son
- 43:39Speaker 2: was like, well did you find him? Did you bring
- 43:40Speaker 2: him home yet? Like he was going to move. So
- 43:42Speaker 2: we're having to deal with a lot of their emotions too.
- 43:45Speaker 2: And then finally the detective that got assigned the case
- 43:50Speaker 2: was a homicide detective for the Pema County. I guess
- 43:54Speaker 2: they Pema County, I guess doesn't have like a missing
- 43:56Speaker 2: person's division.
- 43:58Speaker 1: A lot of counties don't.
- 44:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean they should, because we have a sitting
- 44:04Speaker 2: people like I didn't so big until my own son
- 44:08Speaker 2: went missing, Like you.
- 44:09Speaker 1: Don't and most people don't. I I have goosebumps now
- 44:14Speaker 1: because then numbers are astonishing, and it's.
- 44:18Speaker 2: Every day more and more. It's horrible. They should have
- 44:21Speaker 2: their own assigned because you're going on a missing person case.
- 44:25Speaker 2: You're hoping that it doesn't turn into a homicide. But
- 44:27Speaker 2: you have the homicide detectives now working your missing person's case,
- 44:32Speaker 2: which seems strange to me. So we go back to
- 44:36Speaker 2: Catalina because I got to meet with the detective and
- 44:41Speaker 2: there was two detectives, and we met with him and
- 44:45Speaker 2: her and then she she said that he he was
- 44:50Speaker 2: going to be the detective on the case. Kirk Dap
- 44:52Speaker 2: was going to be the detective on the case, and
- 44:54Speaker 2: that's who I would deal with. And I told he asked,
- 44:57Speaker 2: you know, are you going to be in town? And
- 44:58Speaker 2: I said, yes, you know, I don't live here. I
- 45:01Speaker 2: live in Wilcox, but we're going to stay this time.
- 45:03Speaker 2: We got a hotel room instead of sleeping in the truck.
- 45:06Speaker 2: We're like, we got a hotel room. This is where
- 45:08Speaker 2: we're at. We're still going to be doing you know,
- 45:10Speaker 2: we're going to set up flyers. We're going to all
- 45:13Speaker 2: that and try to look for them. And so I
- 45:19Speaker 2: meet with Kurt Dab at their like little substation that
- 45:22Speaker 2: they have out there, and we go over things and
- 45:26Speaker 2: I give him all the information from you know, the
- 45:29Speaker 2: previous five days and everything prior to that, basically for
- 45:33Speaker 2: the whole month of April now, and so this is
- 45:37Speaker 2: like April twenty first, mind you, Okay, so it's been
- 45:41Speaker 2: a couple of weeks. Yeah, So I'm giving him everything
- 45:44Speaker 2: that I have. I wish I would have kept copies
- 45:47Speaker 2: for myself, because.
- 45:49Speaker 1: Well, you were trusting that they would do I would.
- 45:54Speaker 2: So I'm giving him everything and I'm like, look and
- 45:56Speaker 2: I'm telling them we can go and do this, like
- 45:58Speaker 2: you can go and talk to to Kyle because you
- 46:00Speaker 2: shut the door on my face. She won't talk to me.
- 46:02Speaker 2: She can't shut the door on you. You're an officer, right,
- 46:05Speaker 2: So that was another mistake. So he he calls me
- 46:11Speaker 2: back on the twenty first, and when we're talking in
- 46:14Speaker 2: after we talk, that's when he calls me back and
- 46:16Speaker 2: he's like, we're gonna make Tino an official missing person
- 46:20Speaker 2: And I said, oh great, and he's like, we're going
- 46:22Speaker 2: to do it from the seventeenth, So they're going to
- 46:25Speaker 2: go like backdated to when that was the day. And
- 46:28Speaker 2: I found that very weird because the seventeenth is when
- 46:32Speaker 2: we had initially gone to Catalina, when when they told
- 46:35Speaker 2: me they would arrest me that night that that was
- 46:38Speaker 2: the seventeenth yea, So.
- 46:40Speaker 1: They didn't backdate it till the last time someone saw him.
- 46:44Speaker 2: That someone kept pushing and pushing the police. Yeah, so
- 46:51Speaker 2: we I felt like a little bit better. I was like,
- 46:53Speaker 2: all right, the detectives have everything that I mean, we've
- 46:56Speaker 2: got a file, everything, they're gonna they're gonna work it.
- 46:59Speaker 2: We're gonna go home, We're going to start. I'm going
- 47:01Speaker 2: to start going there. You know, people are in my
- 47:05Speaker 2: town talks didn't know Tino because we had we were
- 47:08Speaker 2: so but I did feel that flyers needed to be
- 47:13Speaker 2: posted in the vicinity where Tino was, where the people knew.
- 47:17Speaker 2: So makes sense to go back like every weekend and
- 47:21Speaker 2: post flyers. And I would still talk to more and
- 47:25Speaker 2: more people, and I would gather up more and more information.
- 47:28Speaker 3: In the meantime, people would call me on my phone
- 47:34Speaker 3: and this is that they would tell me in different
- 47:39Speaker 3: ways killed Tina, different ways, you know, Oh he was
- 47:43Speaker 3: he was with Kayla at this party and they got
- 47:45Speaker 3: an argument and some guy who liked Kayla shot him
- 47:49Speaker 3: in the chest, shot him in the bag, be death,
- 47:55Speaker 3: all these different things, and I was like, this is disgusting,
- 47:58Speaker 3: Like and I would tell the I would call it
- 48:00Speaker 3: and tell the detective. And it got to the point
- 48:03Speaker 3: where I was like, you know what, I know, the
- 48:04Speaker 3: detectives don't believe me.
- 48:06Speaker 2: I recorded the conversations. Anyone that called my phone, you
- 48:09Speaker 2: were being reported.
- 48:10Speaker 1: That's legitimate my view, right.
- 48:15Speaker 2: And so I'm recording having all these calls reported, and
- 48:19Speaker 2: and this whole time, Kayla's still not wanting to talk
- 48:21Speaker 2: to me.
- 48:23Speaker 1: Cody Shave, did she talk to the police.
- 48:26Speaker 2: Yeah, she did, she did, and she That's that's how
- 48:32Speaker 2: I learned. Months later, Kayla was bragging two people, Cody Shave,
- 48:38Speaker 2: to other people out there that the detective on the
- 48:42Speaker 2: case was helping her and her mom, Fine Tino, and
- 48:46Speaker 2: doing everything he could for them, and he was just
- 48:49Speaker 2: this great, wonderful help to them.
- 48:52Speaker 1: And I said, she didn't report him missing, That's what
- 48:56Speaker 1: I said.
- 48:56Speaker 2: I said, And why would this detective be doing that
- 48:59Speaker 2: for you? Why for you? And that's when she tells
- 49:02Speaker 2: me because years prior, years prior, like she's a little
- 49:07Speaker 2: kid at this time, years prior, like ten, twelve years prior,
- 49:10Speaker 2: her mom was married to this guy who took Kayla
- 49:14Speaker 2: and her little brother, Jesse and did some really bad
- 49:17Speaker 2: things to them, beat them and other things, and the
- 49:20Speaker 2: police got involved, and it just so happened that the
- 49:24Speaker 2: officer that responded twelve years later now is the detective
- 49:28Speaker 2: of theation working my son's case. So he had you
- 49:33Speaker 2: could call it relations or whatever, that's a connection.
- 49:36Speaker 1: That's I mean, in most places you would have to
- 49:39Speaker 1: remove yourself because that could be a conflict of interest
- 49:43Speaker 1: in my view. Now, did Kayla and Cody know each
- 49:47Speaker 1: other well?
- 49:48Speaker 2: Very well?
- 49:49Speaker 1: So they all knew each other. They were all friends,
- 49:51Speaker 1: so it was like a group of friends.
- 49:53Speaker 2: The only new players on the board after doing our
- 49:58Speaker 2: investigation and talking to people, some new people that we
- 50:02Speaker 2: didn't really know of, was a girl named Jamie Lynn.
- 50:06Speaker 2: And Jamie Lynn and Kayla knew each other. They hated
- 50:11Speaker 2: each other because I guess Tino was dating one and
- 50:14Speaker 2: the other.
- 50:17Speaker 1: He's can call emails, I mean he's he was what
- 50:20Speaker 1: twenty something, I mean, yeah, And that's just what they do.
- 50:23Speaker 1: I mean, that's just what they That's just what they do. Now,
- 50:27Speaker 1: you said, Cody talk to you. What did Cody say
- 50:29Speaker 1: to you?
- 50:30Speaker 2: Cody said, called me a few names and told me
- 50:34Speaker 2: I needed to back off. And I said, back off what, Cody?
- 50:38Speaker 2: But what am I backing off of? I needed to
- 50:41Speaker 2: stop trying to find Tino and I needed to leave
- 50:43Speaker 2: Kayla the bleep bleep alone and stop harassing her. And
- 50:50Speaker 2: was saying things like that. So then I'm getting mad.
- 50:52Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, oh, I'm done done.
- 50:54Speaker 1: So why if you know what was his thought, Why
- 50:59Speaker 1: would a man stop looking for their child just because
- 51:03Speaker 1: he said so he thought you should get out of
- 51:06Speaker 1: his way.
- 51:07Speaker 2: Yeah, because he called me a few choice names and
- 51:10Speaker 2: like telephone tough guy, like oh, when I see you, I'm.
- 51:12Speaker 1: Gonna sounds like his dad needs to pray for him.
- 51:16Speaker 2: I think so. I think I actually probably mentioned that
- 51:18Speaker 2: a couple of times to him. But and I told him,
- 51:21Speaker 2: I'm not I'm not gonna ever back down. I said,
- 51:23Speaker 2: the only way that I will ever back down from
- 51:26Speaker 2: you or from anybody is if I have my son back.
- 51:29Speaker 2: That is the only way I'm you all along. So
- 51:34Speaker 2: he didn't like that. And I mean pictures of conversations
- 51:39Speaker 2: him and Kayla had on the text. He would send
- 51:42Speaker 2: them to me, and I didn't know. I didn't understand why.
- 51:46Speaker 2: I still don't. It would just be her basically saying, Cody,
- 51:49Speaker 2: I don't know what to do. I'm so sad. You
- 51:52Speaker 2: know's mom is blaming me. She says, what does it
- 51:58Speaker 2: have to do with anything? Just tell me where he was,
- 52:00Speaker 2: tell me what happened to Tino, Tell me where we
- 52:02Speaker 2: At this point, even the detective did have some communication
- 52:06Speaker 2: with me, and he he was like Carrie we know
- 52:12Speaker 2: something bad happened. That is why they put his disappearance
- 52:15Speaker 2: as suspicious circumstances.
- 52:19Speaker 1: Now, was Cody going out and putting flyers up? Was
- 52:22Speaker 1: Kayla out putting flyers up trying to help?
- 52:26Speaker 2: No? None of them, nobody, none of them.
- 52:29Speaker 1: Okay, I'm gonna say once again, guys, it makes them
- 52:31Speaker 1: look even more suspicious because I'm a firm believer if
- 52:35Speaker 1: you had nothing to do with it, you are going
- 52:38Speaker 1: to be helping. And why be confrontational, because just like
- 52:43Speaker 1: when a wife goes missing, everybody knows the first person
- 52:46Speaker 1: you're going to look at is the husband or the boyfriend,
- 52:49Speaker 1: and they're going to grill you. They are going to
- 52:52Speaker 1: put you through hell so that they can eliminate you. Right,
- 52:57Speaker 1: Why does Cody and Kayla not understand? You're just asking questions? Yeah,
- 53:03Speaker 1: and want to know now, And I shouldn't say this
- 53:08Speaker 1: is good news, but I am going to say it's
- 53:09Speaker 1: good news in my book. Cody is currently not a
- 53:13Speaker 1: free person. Right.
- 53:15Speaker 2: No, it's not not not because of not because of Tino.
- 53:21Speaker 2: Not because of Tino.
- 53:22Speaker 1: No, but I I still, like I said, I can't
- 53:27Speaker 1: say that I'm always a great person, but I believe
- 53:31Speaker 1: he should be. Now what is he in jail for
- 53:35Speaker 1: this time?
- 53:36Speaker 2: Uh? Huh? This one I believe is aggravated, do you
- 53:40Speaker 2: I okay? And things like that. This is actually the second.
- 53:47Speaker 1: Did you say this time? So he's he's a repeat offender.
- 53:51Speaker 2: Yeah. So eight months before Tino went missing, he and
- 53:56Speaker 2: these two other guys. I don't know if I should
- 53:59Speaker 2: do my live stater so.
- 54:00Speaker 1: I w I wouldn't say their names just they don't
- 54:02Speaker 1: have anything.
- 54:03Speaker 2: Everyone out there knows, well, those three took this young
- 54:06Speaker 2: boy who was sixteen or seventeen out to the desert,
- 54:10Speaker 2: pistol whipped him, stripped him naked, and left him thinking
- 54:14Speaker 2: he was dead. Why the boy didn't die, thank God?
- 54:18Speaker 2: And he ends up walking down the road of you know,
- 54:23Speaker 2: no clothes on because they took his clothes and gets.
- 54:27Speaker 1: So why was Cody not in jail for that?
- 54:31Speaker 2: He ended up going to jail about Oh so he
- 54:33Speaker 2: was out. Yeah, eight months after, you know, goes missing
- 54:39Speaker 2: and you know, he gets arrested with his dad at
- 54:43Speaker 2: a golf course. They're playing putt putt or whatever, and
- 54:46Speaker 2: the cops arrest him there for this charge on this
- 54:49Speaker 2: young boy. And he goes to prison for like a
- 54:53Speaker 2: year and a half on that one, he gets out,
- 54:56Speaker 2: and then he's been in prison on this second charge
- 55:00Speaker 2: for aggravated DUI high intoxication something like that, and he's
- 55:06Speaker 2: currently locked up again until December.
- 55:09Speaker 1: So he only got a year and a half for
- 55:12Speaker 1: pistol whipping a minor, stripping him of his clothes, thinking
- 55:17Speaker 1: he's dead, and leaving him in the desert, and he
- 55:20Speaker 1: got a year and a half.
- 55:21Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, And so I've always thought, well, that was
- 55:25Speaker 2: his first time doing something disgusting to another human being,
- 55:29Speaker 2: and then obviously with Tino, maybe something along those lines
- 55:34Speaker 2: happened him and these friends or other friends or Kayla
- 55:37Speaker 2: and whoever they got. I don't like to say it,
- 55:41Speaker 2: but they got smarter, like we just won't let the
- 55:43Speaker 2: body be able to walk down or and so that
- 55:48Speaker 2: kind of bothered me a lot because but I'm glad
- 55:51Speaker 2: that that other kid his family isn't going through, but
- 55:56Speaker 2: I wish that my son would have been able to
- 55:59Speaker 2: come out of the desert, you know.
- 56:01Speaker 1: Right, No, I and I'm not gonna share it because
- 56:05Speaker 1: I didn't download it because I was a run out
- 56:07Speaker 1: of time. But you were doing something that I think
- 56:12Speaker 1: is very admirable. And I can tell you if my child,
- 56:17Speaker 1: my grandchildren ever go missing or someone I love. I
- 56:21Speaker 1: love what you're doing and I am going to share
- 56:24Speaker 1: with everybody and I will put it in the comments.
- 56:27Speaker 1: You are mailing Cody while he's in prison. You're mailing
- 56:32Speaker 1: him a flyer I am. And what does that flyer say?
- 56:36Speaker 2: It just lets him know that I haven't forgotten and
- 56:39Speaker 2: that it has Tino's picture, and and it just tells him,
- 56:46Speaker 2: you know, you can still do the right thing. I'm
- 56:49Speaker 2: sure here. And it just tells them. It doesn't have anything,
- 56:51Speaker 2: it's not threatening. It just says you can still let
- 56:54Speaker 2: us know where his body is. You can make an
- 56:57Speaker 2: anonymous tip with the Week can bring you Hope agency,
- 57:00Speaker 2: and it has their phone number. And then I say
- 57:03Speaker 2: on it that it's never too late to do the
- 57:05Speaker 2: right thing. All we have ever wanted was Tin back.
- 57:09Speaker 2: That's it. And you know, maybe he just needs a
- 57:12Speaker 2: few reminders, I'm hoping.
- 57:17Speaker 1: And if you do Cody have children.
- 57:20Speaker 2: Supposedly, yeah, what about Kaylee? Well, all a lot of
- 57:25Speaker 2: them do, Kayla does, Jesse does a lot.
- 57:28Speaker 1: Of them, and they can't put their self in that
- 57:31Speaker 1: position that what if this was your child?
- 57:37Speaker 2: They they don't. They don't for them. I think in
- 57:41Speaker 2: cases like this, it's easy for the guilty because they
- 57:44Speaker 2: don't have every day, you know what I mean, They
- 57:47Speaker 2: don't have to pick up every day and wonder.
- 57:50Speaker 1: I just put in the comments the address for Cody
- 57:56Speaker 1: in prison, and I am going to share when we finish,
- 58:00Speaker 1: I am going to share the exact flyer that you
- 58:02Speaker 1: sent me that you're sending to Cody, and I want
- 58:06Speaker 1: to challenge any of our you know, listeners, viewers because
- 58:10Speaker 1: I will be doing it. I'm going to also print
- 58:13Speaker 1: it off and probably print off a couple of copies
- 58:16Speaker 1: and also drop them in the mail to him, and
- 58:20Speaker 1: maybe if everybody sends him a copy, just maybe it'll
- 58:25Speaker 1: get through his thick skull that you need to do
- 58:31Speaker 1: the right thing. Now, you mentioned the organization Hope. Tell
- 58:37Speaker 1: me about that organization. That is not one I had
- 58:40Speaker 1: heard of.
- 58:41Speaker 2: So I you broke up? I'm sorry.
- 58:43Speaker 1: Is it Hope? Is that the name of the foundation.
- 58:46Speaker 2: We can bring you Hope? Agents, we can.
- 58:48Speaker 1: Bring you Hope. How did you find them?
- 58:51Speaker 2: They found me And when it very first went when
- 58:55Speaker 2: all this was going down, they contacted I didn't know
- 58:59Speaker 2: agentsies like the existed, and they contacted me and someone
- 59:04Speaker 2: had contacted them, I guess, and told them that I
- 59:07Speaker 2: could use help in finding And I don't even I
- 59:11Speaker 2: don't even remember who gave them that. I just know
- 59:14Speaker 2: that right from the very beginning they have been with me.
- 59:18Speaker 2: They're the ones when we would go hang up flyers.
- 59:21Speaker 2: They're the ones who make the flyers. You'll see it
- 59:23Speaker 2: like on my Facebook and stuff. They're they're the ones
- 59:28Speaker 2: who helped make the they make them, and they have
- 59:30Speaker 2: their information. And because a lot of the people say,
- 59:34Speaker 2: you know why, I'm not going to drop my name.
- 59:36Speaker 2: I'm not going to say my name. Okay, Well they
- 59:38Speaker 2: have an anonymous tip line. You don't have to give
- 59:40Speaker 2: your name. Nobody you by Dakody and Detail and all them.
- 59:46Speaker 2: You could be literally the one who ended his life
- 59:51Speaker 2: and you go say, hey, this is where Tino is buried,
- 59:56Speaker 2: or this is where his body is. You don't even
- 59:58Speaker 2: ever have to tell me who you are. You just
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: have to tell us that that's it, right, you know.
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: And what I'm learning is that a lot of times
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: they don't want to do that because they're learning that
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: they probably left evidence behind. But I also hope they
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: realize that evidence isn't going to go away. It's going
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: to stay there. So even if his remains aren't found
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: for a while, it's still going to be there. So
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: they could either step up and do the right thing
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: and beg for mercy on the court, or they can
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: wait and it's going to be ten times it's worse
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: for them.
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: Now.
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: Is there any updates from law enforcement on Tino's case?
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: No, Actually that's quite They are inactive to his case.
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: The detective or no, he retired.
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: Probably good for him. Yeah, get out of there.
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: And it got moved to other detectives, and I would
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: be in contact with them, and there's just a lot
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: of blunders on their end.
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: So I mean, they've let the car go, You've got
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: tips saying he was hit by it. Okay, I have
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: to be careful because I get so infuriated. You know,
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: I've got a family that's you know, family members that
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: are in law enforcement and in the legal thing, and
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: I can't help but tell you how often I have
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: to stop myself from getting mad and just saying, what
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: in God's creation were they thinking? You've got people telling
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: this missing person's mom that this person hit them with
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: this car. You find that car and they don't take
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: the car. They don't look in the car. What if
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: the evidence was on that car, that would have given
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: them the answers to solve this case.
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: I forget it now. The Cody and his friends when
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: they moved it, destroyed the car and then left it
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: in a church parking lot to be donated. They'll never
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: get the car back. And I told the police. When
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: I got the call that they donated the car to
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: the church. I called the police. I called the church.
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: Nobody would listen to me. I tried to get the
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: car so I would have it, and I.
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: Was like, so you get you could put it in
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: a storage unit, put saran wrap or whatever that big
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: wrap stuff's called that you use for moving furnitures. That
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: what has been the hardest part of this journey for you,
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: outside of missing your son, obviously.
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: Is the they that nobody would help, like these people
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: that claimed to be his friend and the girlfriend whatever
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: you know. You claim that you loved him, then help
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: me hang a fly or help me find him. Don't lie.
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: I mean, if that's how you love someone, I hope
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: she doesn't love her child. I mean, I hate to
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: say it that way, but if that's how you love someone.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: I really hope her own child she doesn't love because maybe.
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: That that awful. And then like the other these other
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: girls you know, like Jamie Lynne and Emily and all
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: them girls who claim to have loved my son and
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: wanted nothing but to be with him. Where are you now?
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: Where are you now? Are you? You obviously knew something then,
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: and we're too scared to tell me. It's six six
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: years now, and it's a long time. Cody again. If
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: you all are so afraid of Cody, which he's not
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: a don't be afraid.
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: He's in prison right now. And people may not know this.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: And this is something I just learned this weekend. Even
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: if the FBI is not looking into a missing person case,
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: you can still anonymously go to FBI dot gov slash
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: tips and do an anonymous tip, even if it's a
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: case they don't have. If you tell them the person's
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: name in the city, they will get that information over
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: to local law enforcement. I did not know that. I
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: thought they would just say, oh, we don't have a
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: case about this and move on. They don't because they
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: cannot go into that city and work on a case
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: unless they're invited, but if they get a tip, they
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: can share that tip. And I was told if the
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: tip is valuable and they think that there is some
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: substance to it, they can do something with that tip.
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: Even if local law enforcement doesn't invite them in, they
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: can follow up on a tip that comes into FBI
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: dot gov. So I want to encourage anyone if you're
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: scared of local law enforcement, because my husband and I
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: just watched the show on TV last night. This was
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: the most crooked law enforcement agency. It was the sheriff
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: down that was crooked in a small town of Louisiana.
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: I'm gonna say, if you're scared of local law enforcement
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: or you think they have connections to family or whoever,
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: go to FBI dot gov because that's one way to
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: get them involved, right, so that they can do that. Now,
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: I will tell you I was surprised at the lack
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: of media coverage.
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: There's a reason over this case. Why there was coverage. Well,
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: you know you think the police do that initial.
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: That initial right, Okay, So they did that.
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: And then about I don't know, a year. The first
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: two years is only when they the first year is
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: really they only worked the case that them not us.
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: We've worked it every day since then. But there was
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: other like podcast and places that wanted sure to you know, story,
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: and I was like, great, let's do it, let's do it.
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: And then they would ask me is it still an
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: open case? Like is there detectives on the case, And
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: I'd be like, yeah, here's their name. You know. They'll
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: they go, oh, yeah, they're out. They're gonna be like, yeah,
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: let's get a space out there. Oh no, they shut
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: it down. Boom, No, you cannot, No, you cannot. We're
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: not giving any comment. We're not doing that.
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: You can't.
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: It's an open investigation. You'll mess up the investigation. What
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: are you talking about. We're trying to get a space
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: out here. Let me do the all these other podcasts,
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: all these other shows. Let me do that.
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: Let me get to the detectives told you not to
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: talk to media in the podcasts because it was an
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: open case. Now I can I will be on this.
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: I can understand that if they had given you information
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: and they were scared you were going to share information
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: that was sensitive to the case. But it doesn't sound
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: like they've done that.
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: They never gave me any information until recently, So.
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: Then what would it have hurt.
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: Oh my god, because yes, there's a relationship somewhere with
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: that whole family, that the Sarah family, but I don't know,
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: so he wouldn't. And then now that it's an inactive case,
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: I think they can't stop me. They I don't know.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: Well, they couldn't stop you before. So just so you know,
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: and any other family that has to go through this,
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: law enforcement cannot stop a family member from talking to
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: the media because there's freedom of speech. And I am
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: going to if it's okay with you, Carrie, JT and
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: I just recently went to the Big Podcast Festival in
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: Denver and we met a lot of different true crime podcasters.
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: If it's okay with you, I want to send them
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: the notes that our assistant producer pulled on Tino's case
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: and share it with them. Maybe we can get a
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: couple more to cover it and get it out there,
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: because somebody knows something. And I think about it this way.
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: If you catch your four year old stealing cookies out
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: of the cookie jar, he's not going to fess up
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: until he's backed into a corner and he knows he
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: has to tell the truth right until it's coming from
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: Always is the little kid going to finally go Okay,
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: I took it. Maybe if everybody starts sending Cody Flyers
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: and these other podcasts can start covering it, maybe somebody
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: will do the right thing.
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: Right. That's what I'm hoping. I'm really hoping that finally,
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: after all these years, you know, there have been people
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: who who were involved in some way or another who,
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: over the years, I guess, did feel really guilty and
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: would have certain of their family members come and contact
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: me and tell me, hey, this is this is what
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: so and so said. They feel really guilty about what
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: happened and what their part in it was, and they
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: want to do the right thing. What can we do?
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: And I always tell them have them talked to me? Well,
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: he doesn't want to talk to you. He's afraid to
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: talk to you. Okay, fine, all I All I want
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: is to know where Valentino's body is so I can
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: bring him home. Just if he could give me that
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: information and she would say, you know, yeah, she would
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: talk to him and she would be back. Unfortunately, some
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: of the people that did have an ounce of guilt
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: in their heart and wanted to do the right thing,
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: some of them have ended up debt, not I'm not
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: saying murdered space, but for other things related and or
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: have taken their own lives and that information from that person,
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: and I'm sorry that that person's no longer with us.
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: But in the same token, I just want my son back.
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: I mean, it's been six years. You all could have
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: done it back then, and now you have, you have
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: have an opportunity to do it again every day again again,
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: And all I want is to know where he's at.
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: I just want to bring him home. He didn't he
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: didn't deserve to die at all, and he didn't deserve
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: to die in any of the ways that any of
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: you have ever told me. He died. And he doesn't
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: deserve to be out in the desert, and he doesn't
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: by himself. He doesn't deserve that and want and.
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: We won't get into it. But Tino does have a
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: young child, So I hope people will stop and think
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: it's not just a mom and brothers and dad who
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: need closure. There is a young child who goes to
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: bed every night and doesn't know. So I would hope
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: even the most cold hearted person would stop and think
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: about a child who has to go to bed and
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: wants to know where they're doing is yeah.
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: I mean these people claim that they were Tino's friend. Well,
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: if he's.
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: Well, I can tell you something I've learned about us
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: investigating that one case that we're doing. I now say
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: friends with little quotation marks, because I can tell you
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: I have never been that kind of friend. I mean,
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: something like this happened to my friend, I would be
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: right there with her family and I you wouldn't get
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: rid of me.
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: No, no, I haven't.
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: So they're not friends they I mean, you cannot call
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: yourself a friend if they are not they're supporting Tino's family,
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: if they're not supporting you, and if they're calling you
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: names right then and telling you to stop looking for
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: your son, well just tell me where he is and
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: I'll stop looking. I mean, it's that easy. You want
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: me to stop, tell me where he is and I'll stop.
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: You'll never hear from me again, like ever.
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: And I try to tell people that you know, yes,
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: there comes a point where you want justice, okay, and
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: you don't know what that looks like until you can
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: get your son home. Then maybe you can think about that.
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: But what would closure look like for you and your family?
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: I think the startup closure. Would want to have him
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: and to be able to go through the true grief process,
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: you know, because we can't right now, it's we have
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: to we just can't grieve. I guess the way that
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: people can grieve my mom. This is how my mom
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: set it to us. My mom lost a daughter, my sister,
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: years ago when I was sixteen, my daughter, my sister
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: was eighteen, and my mom told us when this happened
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: and we were confirmed basically that he was dead, she
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: said to me and ed that it never gets easier
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: to lose a child. You'll never get over it. The
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: only thing that will happen is you will get better
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: at hiding it. And so like hiding your emotions and
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: hiding you know, go out there and work and be
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: there for your kids. And you know, because we still
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: have our kids, you still have to be there for them.
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: But you have to be really strong for them, even
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: though you want to break down. So I think if
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: we could have his body and start the grieving process,
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: that would.
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: Be I'd be a step in the right direction. Well,
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: have y'all had any tips and I just thought about this.
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: Have y'all had any tips or anyone tell you that
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: he is still alive any somewhere else or has everything
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: been that he was killed?
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: From everybody out there, they have all different stories key
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: three points one that he was killed. Cody was involved,
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: Taylor was involved, Jamie was involved, all those but they
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: they said that those those are the key ones. None
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: of them have ever said that, Oh, no, he just
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: decided to go for a walk in the desert. No.
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: The only one that they ever said that that they
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: did not physically kill him was on the recording when
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: they called. It was like three in the morning, and
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: they called me and told me that technically Cody couldn't
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: get in trouble for murder because they didn't murder Tino
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: because instead they hit him with the car and beat
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: him unconscious and buried him in the ground alive upside
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: down so he wouldn't be able to dig his way
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: out and left him there for dead. So, I mean,
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: I guess it.
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: How is that I I'm trying not to cry.
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: No, that's those are what we.
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: How First of all, why would anyone pick up the
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: phone and call the mother and tell them this if
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: they're not going to give the exact proof wow of this,
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: Because to me, that seems cruel Call the police and
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: tell the police. You don't need a phone call at
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: three o'clock in the morning telling you that, in my opinion, we.
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: Did go there where they said it will happened.
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: Oh so they told you when you went and looked,
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: always tell us.
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: Ever since it has happened, we've dug twenty three holes
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: in the desert looking for it.
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: Have the police done any digging or searching?
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: They claim they did one time on that one on
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: the one where said they burned him alive, and they
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: said that they didn't find anything but a cow. So
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: I don't know, I don't I know. We didn't find police.
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: Ever look into Cody or get Cody's phone records, see
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: where his location? Have they done anything?
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: Well the phone records. See, that's a weird thing because
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: the last I remember, I had control of the phone.
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: Well I don't want to say control, because I didn't
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: have control.
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: I Well, you had you had control because you had
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: family plan. You could go in and see where they were,
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: who they talked to. That's the control of the data.
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: We'll say that.
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: But I couldn't pay as Kayla to her family took
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: over that. I don't know. She had Tino's passwords. But
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: we did find that the last five calls text and
- 1:16:24Speaker 2: all that the last five we're all from Kayla and
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: Kayla's family to Tino's.
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: Phone and to have police searched Kayla's home or Cody's home.
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: Wrote her off is fine, She's not a suspect, she
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: never was a suspect.
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: She could have information. She doesn't have to be the
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: person who did it to have inform. Oh my god, please.
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: I Tino's belonging back. She said she needed them to
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: hold on to her memories.
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: Okay, wait a minute, Wait a minute, Wait a minute.
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: She's not out looking for him or helping you or
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: consoling you or the family, but she wants to keep
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: his belongings for memories. No, because they're evidence and there's
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: probably some Oh, Kyla, Kayla, Kayla, you're she's not looking
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: like a good person. In my opinion, I got to
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: remember to always say that, in my opinion, Kayla's not
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: looking so good. Kayla's not looking so good. Well, I
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: am so sorry that you are having to go through this.
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: I can't help but wonder if the homicide because they
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: didn't have a missing person's unit. In most cases, we
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: always hear a lot of families want a homicide detective
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: on it because they do things different than a missing
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: person detective does. But it doesn't sound like in your
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: case or Tino's case, that having a homicide detective on
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: it really did any good for you.
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: No.
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: Are they basically saying there's no body, so there's nothing
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: we're going to do.
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: Their exact words to me in twenty nineteen was carry nobody,
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: no crime. Well that's what they said.
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: That's not true anymore. People. I want to tell you
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: a lot of states prosecute people for no bodies. Yea,
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: But I guess they have to say that if they
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: didn't take Cody's car, they didn't get any evidence, so
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: they couldn't find any blood. They didn't search his house,
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: they didn't search Kyla's. They literally didn't investigate, so they
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: would have to have a body because all of the
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: other evidence they didn't do their job to get it.
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: It sounds like no, no, I I am speechless. I'm
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: sposed having you keep going every day? How do you function.
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: Well? Like my mom said, it was true, you get
- 1:19:10Speaker 2: better at putting on like a a face for the
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: world to see. You know, you gotta gotta go to work,
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: you gotta take care of your kids, you gotta you
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: gotta do all the things an adult it does. And
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: I do that, and then it's those nights, those those
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: private moments when you're at home and you break down.
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: You make sure no one else sees that because you
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: don't want them to think that I don't know what
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: I don't. I don't care what they think. Actually, I
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: mean I do. It's hard. I don't. I think there's
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: more nights than not that I break down.
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: You know, and people, I'm going to tell you you
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: have the right to break down as much as you
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: want it. It sounds like your husband, though, is a really
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: good support system.
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: He breaks down too. He is a really strong man mentally, emotionally, physically,
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: He's but it is this has been very hard, and
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: we we were I was I'm the biggest warrior. I'll
- 1:20:13Speaker 2: worry over worrying about worrying, and I was worried that
- 1:20:17Speaker 2: it would cause a risk in us, and we both
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: we needed to stay strong with one another so we
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: could find Tino. Because we're not together, we're just like
- 1:20:27Speaker 2: the police and the rest of those people who just
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: don't care, you know, Oh whatever, then Tina will never
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: be found. So we have stayed strong together so we
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: can find Tino.
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: And I personally believe that's going to help you find
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: him because so many times I'm learning with covering missing
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: person cases or true crime in general, if there's not
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: a strong family unit and it fractures, Yep, it's going
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: to be even worse and take longer to do it. Well.
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: Parent is going through the same thing. You know, I'm
- 1:21:03Speaker 2: hurting because he's hurting. But they for our kids, you know,
- 1:21:09Speaker 2: I mean, they.
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: Lost a brother, and people I don't think realize that.
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: And that's the thing, like people who do these things,
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: they only think about the one person. They're not thinking
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: of the broader it's the family, it's the extended family,
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: it's the community, it is people out there. I mean,
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: I worry about missing person cases when I see them
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: and I read the tragic stories. I don't know them.
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: I still have a heavy heart just thinking about the
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: extended family. I mean, Tino's child asked to.
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: Grow up not knowing who he is, so little when
- 1:21:50Speaker 2: it happened. Yeah, my mom, my mom, she's a She
- 1:21:54Speaker 2: was actually the one who cut Tino's cord from me.
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: She was the person to hold him, because, like I said,
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: my mom has been there my entire life. She was
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: a nice face with Tina when he was born. I
- 1:22:08Speaker 2: was so tired I couldn't so she helped at him
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: and everything.
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: So she lost a daughter, anna grandson.
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: Yeah, it's very hard for her too. And they don't
- 1:22:20Speaker 2: my sister, they don't these people who are involved or
- 1:22:23Speaker 2: who even have vital information. If you could just step
- 1:22:27Speaker 2: out and see for one brief moment that Tino had
- 1:22:30Speaker 2: a family he has still does, a family that absolutely
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: loves him, and we don't we don't care. Yeah, everybody
- 1:22:39Speaker 2: makes mistakes, everybody can be a jerk to somebody, or safety, whatever,
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: whatever reason. You have, to not put that aside for
- 1:22:48Speaker 2: one minute and just see that we are his family
- 1:22:51Speaker 2: and we are going through the worst that any family
- 1:22:54Speaker 2: could go through. You have.
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. People that
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: I despise, I would not wish on them the pain
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: that a family and I can't understand it. I can
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: try to understand it, but I am learning until it
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: actually happens in your family. But if it breaks my
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: heart like this, it's got there's got to be if
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: they are twenty percent a decent human. They should be
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: able to see what it's doing beyond Tino, right.
- 1:23:27Speaker 2: And you know a lot of people say, well, they
- 1:23:30Speaker 2: feel bad, they didn't want to come forward. They feel bad.
- 1:23:31Speaker 2: They're still don't.
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: Don't, don't, don't think about yourself.
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: There's a tip line. It's it's it's it's completely anonymous.
- 1:23:41Speaker 2: Even now I am begging, just that's all we want.
- 1:23:47Speaker 2: Just tell us if you know, even if you're even
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: if you're Cody Shave, or you're his family, or you're
- 1:23:54Speaker 2: Kayla and her family, or you're of these other people
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: who I didn't mention your names, but you know who
- 1:23:59Speaker 2: you are. Art, just tell us that's you can do
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: the right thing and in your heart you'll know and
- 1:24:07Speaker 2: then you don't yourself have to live with the guilt.
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: Right. And that's I'm going to tell anybody who's watching
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: this or sees this, definitely called. They have an anonymous
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: tip line. It is seven two four four six six
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: four six seven three. And I can tell you with
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: another person I'm talking to who's called in tips on
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: another case, he told me that it was eating him
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: up inside, that he knew information and he didn't realize
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: how much it was eating him up and how much
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: it had changed him till he decided to call us
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: with the tip on a case that you know we've
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: been looking into. And like I told him, I don't
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: even know his name talk to him. Don't know his name.
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: I don't need to know his name. I don't care.
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: But he called and gave him for and what people
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: don't realize every little bit of information, even if you
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: think it's a rumor, there's a lot of truth and rumors, right,
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: So call and tell and so Tino deserves the respect.
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: And if you truly were his friend, or if you're
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: a decent human, call right in.
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: Tell well, their mother and father were having to go
- 1:25:28Speaker 2: through this over them because of maybe poor decisions or
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: because you got in with the wrong crowd or whatever.
- 1:25:35Speaker 2: Like look at your own mom and dad and be like, hey,
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: I don't want to have a mom and dad like that.
- 1:25:43Speaker 2: I wouldn't.
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: You don't. That's what I'm saying to think about. I mean,
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: I know some pretty horrible people out there in the world.
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: I still wouldn't want their family to suffer. No, no, wow,
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: I want to say thank you. Now, do you have
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: a Facebook page for Valentino.
- 1:26:05Speaker 2: I did create one on off of mine. I'm honestly Facebook.
- 1:26:11Speaker 2: I was talking with my husband the other dare about
- 1:26:14Speaker 2: it and saying, you know what, I should probably get
- 1:26:16Speaker 2: on there and get with our daughter who's really good
- 1:26:18Speaker 2: on Facebook, and do an actual, like a new one
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: that's focused different than how it was, because I had
- 1:26:27Speaker 2: done the one off of mine back when this all
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: began and I was in a different headspace than now
- 1:26:34Speaker 2: from now, and I think one that can just be
- 1:26:39Speaker 2: a little different, And I don't know. I don't Facebook
- 1:26:42Speaker 2: a lot.
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: Because it helps tremendously, So I will tell you if
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: you get one going, be sure to send it to
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: either me or Amos who you've talked to, because you
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: would not believe the amount that it gets out there
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: and it helps. And we have some people on our
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: team that are really great with Facebook pages. So if
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: you make one and you have any questions, feel free
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: to reach out. I figure between me and them, we
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: can help you get that going, because it's amazing how
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: social media helps today. And I'm a firm believer the
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: more these people who know information see it, they're going
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: to realize it's not just going to go away. They're
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: hoping you'll just go away and you'll quite asking questions.
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: And I think once they realize you're not, and they
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: start seeing it more and more and it's thrown in
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: their face, they're going to be like, Okay, I need
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: this to just stop and go away.
- 1:27:49Speaker 2: Hopefully, once I have Tino, I will stop.
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, I want to thank you for joining me
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: today and for taking time to talk. I can't imagine
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: it's easy, and I do hope that real soon we
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: can do an update because you have Valentino.
- 1:28:10Speaker 2: I hope so.
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: So I'm going to ask everybody. We will be posting
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: the new flyer for everyone to share. I will also
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: post the flyer that if anybody fills the urge to
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: want to print it and descend it to Cody. I
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: will also post Cody's address on our Facebook page along
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: with that flyer, because guys, I believe you know, if
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: you start breaking down someone's conscience, maybe they will do
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: the right thing. So I do thank you. Is there
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: anything you would like to say before we say goodbye?
- 1:28:50Speaker 2: No, thank you for helping me get Tino's story out
- 1:28:53Speaker 2: there again and getting a space out there so no
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: one forgets. I will never.
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: Forget no, we will keep sharing it and today is
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: Missing Poster Monday for those people who are not aware.
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: So if you do share the missing person flyer on Mondays,
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: always do the hashtag missing Poster Monday because there are
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: groups that pick it up and reshare it the other
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: days of the week. I have found, so let's just
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: keep getting it out there. But I thank you so
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: much for coming on and if there's ever anything that
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: I can help with or anybody on the team, just
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: always reach out to us. I will thank you, Okay,
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: thank you, and I want to say thank you to
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: everybody for joining us today. I will see you all
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: again on Wednesday for our next episode of Midday Missing
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: and until then, and as always, stay safe, watch out
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: for crime, and enjoy your onetime
- 1:30:04Speaker 2: That that
