- 0:59Dayna Roselli: Dana Roselli and Sean McAllister here.
- 1:02Dayna Roselli: Thanks for listening.
- 1:04Dayna Roselli: Thanks for joining us on this um, well, hopefully, Sean, last day of 110 degrees in Las Vegas for the year.
- 1:12Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh, we're like setting records with the the string of heat that we're we're having this year.
- 1:18Dayna Roselli: Even our local meteorologist said it will probably be the last 110 degree day.
- 1:24Dayna Roselli: Because it's like you these days, every time we think it's gone, it's back.
- 1:29Sean McAllister: I know.
- 1:29Dayna Roselli: So yeah, it broke some records.
- 1:31Dayna Roselli: So I mean, it has been a record-breaking hot summer here in Las Vegas.
- 1:36Dayna Roselli: And I know at the end of the week we're supposed to experience some high 90s.
- 1:40Dayna Roselli: So that'll be nice.
- 1:41Sean McAllister: That'll be very nice.
- 1:43Sean McAllister: Uh, and it would be nice to experience those temperatures overseas, too.
- 1:48Dayna Roselli: It would be.
- 1:49Dayna Roselli: And and another thing we're gonna hit on in a little bit is that Neon City Festival, which we didn't tease in the open.
- 1:53Dayna Roselli: And that's a free uh festival coming to Las Vegas in November.
- 1:57Dayna Roselli: But yeah, let's talk about this uh budget airline that is kicking off.
- 2:00Dayna Roselli: And the reason um that we found out about it is I was browsing for flights to London and this airline popped up because I only go nonstop.
- 2:09Dayna Roselli: I'm not doing the stop.
- 2:10Dayna Roselli: Um, and it I was like, I've never heard of this before.
- 2:14Dayna Roselli: And it's called Norse Atlantic UK.
- 2:16Dayna Roselli: So I dug a little deeper and I realized that this is starting in September.
- 2:21Sean McAllister: Oh, so pretty soon.
- 2:22Dayna Roselli: So pretty soon.
- 2:23Dayna Roselli: And that's why when I was looking for, you know, the dates, it was in the future.
- 2:27Dayna Roselli: So that's why this popped up, even though it's not here quite yet, as we sit in just toward the end of uh August.
- 2:34Sean McAllister: Okay, so when you normally travel to London, like what is the normal fare that you would pay?
- 2:39Dayna Roselli: Well, you know, it kind of depends, but I feel like these days always over a thousand.
- 2:43Sean McAllister: Yeah, I was gonna say like twelve hundred is.
- 2:45Dayna Roselli: For sure, yep.
- 2:46Dayna Roselli: Yeah, because it especially I do the add-on where I can change my flight in case because we own a business and sometimes things come up, and so you don't want to like, you know, I don't do the refundable because that's even more, but I do like if you want to change it, there's not a fee or something.
- 2:59Dayna Roselli: Um makes sense.
- 3:00Dayna Roselli: And then pick your, you know, being able to pick your seat.
- 3:03Dayna Roselli: So what about this airline?
- 3:05Dayna Roselli: Is it this airline?
- 3:07Dayna Roselli: And I'm looking, so there were two similar, so let's just say I put plugged in for the the you know same um dates in September-ish.
- 3:14Dayna Roselli: And um it showed up for like Virgin Atlantic once I got done doing all my little add-ons, um, like uh 1300.
- 3:26Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 3:27Dayna Roselli: Nonstop, two non-stop flights.
- 3:29Dayna Roselli: But this Norse Atlantic showed up as 650.
- 3:33Dayna Roselli: 650.
- 3:34Dayna Roselli: Two nonstop flights to London Gatwick.
- 3:37Sean McAllister: Wow.
- 3:37Dayna Roselli: I did an add-on.
- 3:38Dayna Roselli: You have to do add-ons on this because, like I said, it's kind of that more budget-ish.
- 3:42Dayna Roselli: But um, it was for one checked bag, one twenty round trip.
- 3:48Sean McAllister: Okay, so sixty dollars each way for checked bags.
- 3:52Dayna Roselli: Basically, yeah.
- 3:53Dayna Roselli: So then, you know, this it's 770 was the total for everything.
- 3:57Sean McAllister: 770 compared to 1300.
- 4:00Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I was like, wow, you know, and then I was noticing that some different dates, it's obviously even cheaper, starting in the 500s.
- 4:06Dayna Roselli: So it's a non-stop flight.
- 4:08Dayna Roselli: Um it is direct from Las Vegas to Gatwick.
- 4:13Dayna Roselli: It kicks off in September.
- 4:16Dayna Roselli: And uh, we looked a little further.
- 4:18Dayna Roselli: It's like um, it's kind of like a branch off of Norwegian air.
- 4:22Sean McAllister: It's some kind of subsidiary.
- 4:24Sean McAllister: Yeah, they're related somehow.
- 4:25Sean McAllister: And they're flying a fleet of uh new big planes, they have uh 787 Dreamliners.
- 4:32Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 4:32Dayna Roselli: So I mean, hey.
- 4:34Sean McAllister: Well, it makes me think like what's the catch?
- 4:36Sean McAllister: I know this sounds great.
- 4:38Dayna Roselli: It's seasonal, so they must not fly, I I bet in the summertime, I'm assuming.
- 4:42Dayna Roselli: Um, but listen, I'm up for trying something new.
- 4:46Dayna Roselli: There are some reviews online that say it's pretty good.
- 4:49Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 4:49Sean McAllister: You know, if you don't need all, but you were even telling me while you were reading up on it, like they have the USB ports and yeah, the chargers at your seat, they have the you know, infotainment screen in the the seat back in front of you, so you can just plug in and you know watch movies on that.
- 5:05Sean McAllister: Obviously, it's you know, from the West Coast over to uh London, that's a pretty long flight.
- 5:12Sean McAllister: So you need to just be ready to hunker down for a while.
- 5:16Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's about 10 hours there, like 1050 on the way back.
- 5:19Dayna Roselli: So definitely, I mean, I don't know.
- 5:22Dayna Roselli: It it just depends what kind of flyer you are.
- 5:25Dayna Roselli: They don't have a first class, they have four like two different sections.
- 5:30Sean McAllister: So like economy and like premium economy is like, yeah, something something like that.
- 5:34Dayna Roselli: So anyway, I don't know.
- 5:36Dayna Roselli: It's an option I haven't decided yet.
- 5:38Dayna Roselli: Um, first of all, even if I'm even going, but second of all, if I should try it, maybe I'll try it one way.
- 5:44Sean McAllister: Oh, there you go.
- 5:44Sean McAllister: So you don't have to commit or see what their refund policy is.
- 5:48Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 5:48Sean McAllister: Do it one way, maybe, and then because then maybe you can cancel the other the return flight.
- 5:54Sean McAllister: Right if I love it, but then you'd have to book an insurance flight just to have it on standby.
- 5:59Dayna Roselli: I hate booking airline regardless.
- 6:02Dayna Roselli: It's just, you know, life is up in the air sometimes and you just feel so committed.
- 6:06Dayna Roselli: That's why that is why, you know, here in the United States I do love Southwest.
- 6:10Dayna Roselli: I know you don't have to commit.
- 6:12Sean McAllister: What do you think about their um seating changes?
- 6:15Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I know.
- 6:16Dayna Roselli: That's coming up.
- 6:17Dayna Roselli: I looked it up because I thought it was starting in October, but I think it's 2025, February.
- 6:22Dayna Roselli: Um, I did a Google search because somebody told me it was October, and I was like, it is, and then it was like, no, it's like early next year.
- 6:28Dayna Roselli: So um I don't know, but I was in line with some people my last trip home.
- 6:34Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 6:34Dayna Roselli: And it was southwest, and I was like, I'm kind of glad they're getting rid of this, maybe.
- 6:39Dayna Roselli: And you know, the person next to me was like, I know, like that's the thing.
- 6:42Dayna Roselli: Like, there's just like you have to put everything on your mind, like checking in the day before.
- 6:48Dayna Roselli: You gotta set your alarm to check in and like make sure you get a good, you know, that then this whole cattling of everyone lining up and uncomfortably getting in their spot.
- 6:57Dayna Roselli: What number do you have?
- 6:58Dayna Roselli: What not like can we just eliminate all of that?
- 7:02Dayna Roselli: However, I was talking to my other friend who was saying, you know what, I like it because I'm a very organized person.
- 7:08Dayna Roselli: I check in, I do my thing, like, and and so I feel like it pays off for my hard work and being organized, right?
- 7:17Dayna Roselli: And that I benefit because I get a great section, I'm right there at the front, this and that, I check in on time, and she's like, I love it.
- 7:24Dayna Roselli: So I don't know.
- 7:25Dayna Roselli: I mean, I think it's a mixed bag of opinions there.
- 7:27Dayna Roselli: How about you?
- 7:28Sean McAllister: Well, I I I wouldn't mind.
- 7:31Sean McAllister: I I think that uh the way that they uh currently board people is unique and that's what sets them apart.
- 7:37Sean McAllister: Right.
- 7:38Sean McAllister: Um so there's that.
- 7:40Sean McAllister: Uh I don't mind the idea of choosing your own seat, but it's paying to choose your seat that I have an issue with.
- 7:49Sean McAllister: That just feels like a money grab, and I don't like that at all.
- 7:52Dayna Roselli: True, very true.
- 7:53Dayna Roselli: I don't like that either.
- 7:54Sean McAllister: Like fine, if you want to if you want people to have assigned seats, cool, open it up, but you're charging for it?
- 8:00Sean McAllister: Uh-uh.
- 8:01Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 8:02Dayna Roselli: Because I'm trying to think.
- 8:03Dayna Roselli: Some of the airlines, do they all charge for it?
- 8:05Dayna Roselli: No, I think like if you're basic basic, if you can get on and pick your seat.
- 8:09Sean McAllister: I think we just flew uh like United up to Canada.
- 8:14Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 8:14Sean McAllister: And that was you you got to pick there were certain sections where you could like you know, pay to upgrade your seat, but we didn't have to pay to choose our seats.
- 8:24Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 8:24Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 8:24Dayna Roselli: So that's that's okay.
- 8:26Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I don't know.
- 8:27Dayna Roselli: I mean, to each their own.
- 8:28Dayna Roselli: I mean, I think I think there's pluses and negatives of all of it, right?
- 8:31Dayna Roselli: And it'll depend, like, if they're gonna I just hope that they don't nickel and dime you for all these things, you know, like if you want to be here, you gotta pay this, and yeah, I know they're gonna start.
- 8:39Dayna Roselli: But um, I did just look it up and it said in 2025.
- 8:42Dayna Roselli: So uh yeah.
- 8:46Sean McAllister: Well that concludes our uh extended conversation about airlines that we didn't really plan for.
- 8:51Sean McAllister: We planned to talk about uh North Atlantic and let you know about that, and then you know things happen.
- 8:59Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 9:00Dayna Roselli: Hey, you know what just came in?
- 9:01Dayna Roselli: The Black Crows are gonna perform at the Cosmopolitan on December 5th.
- 9:04Sean McAllister: Ooh.
- 9:05Sean McAllister: Yeah, that'll be a good show.
- 9:07Dayna Roselli: That will be.
- 9:07Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that'll be a good one.
- 9:09Dayna Roselli: Um, okay, what do we have planned today?
- 9:11Dayna Roselli: What are we doing?
- 9:11Dayna Roselli: We are doing the Neon City Festival.
- 9:14Dayna Roselli: Um, this is a big free festival.
- 9:15Dayna Roselli: We just did it on our TV show, so we learned some things because there's a frequently asked questions page um on the website.
- 9:22Dayna Roselli: And so the Neon City Festival is taking place November 22nd to the 25th in downtown Las Vegas, the same time that Formula One is in town.
- 9:30Dayna Roselli: So it kind of should brighten up and bring people downtown who are either in town for the race or have no interest in the race and want to go do something else Vegasy.
- 9:41Sean McAllister: And this is going to have a huge footprint.
- 9:44Sean McAllister: I mean, we're talking just about all of downtown Las Vegas that's going to be a part in some way uh in this big festival.
- 9:53Sean McAllister: Everything from Fremont Street through the arts district, all the way even up to the uh strat.
- 9:59Sean McAllister: There's going to be activations.
- 10:01Sean McAllister: There's going to be uh live music, there's going to be drone shows, there'll be fireworks, uh, I mean a ton of uh cool 3D graphics that they're putting up on the VivaVision screen down there on Fremont.
- 10:15Sean McAllister: So it is, it's art, it's food, it's music, all those things.
- 10:20Sean McAllister: Um, in a free range festival is what they're calling it.
- 10:23Dayna Roselli: And we don't know who's performing yet.
- 10:25Dayna Roselli: However, uh depending on when you're listening to this podcast, that might be out already.
- 10:30Dayna Roselli: But that is coming soon.
- 10:31Dayna Roselli: Uh as of today, we're recording on a Tuesday, podcast release on a Thursday.
- 10:36Dayna Roselli: Um, listen, the live entertainment though, I mean, Sean, there are like tons of different locations that they're using.
- 10:42Dayna Roselli: It's like the main street stage, the first street stage, the third street stage, downtown Las Vegas event center, and the casino street stages.
- 10:51Dayna Roselli: So there's gonna be a lot of entertainment going on.
- 10:54Sean McAllister: Yeah, I'm excited to uh see what the lineup is going to be for this and um you know what kind of what kind of crowds we pull in during F1 weekend that aren't necessarily here to see a race.
- 11:08Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 11:08Dayna Roselli: It's an all ages festival.
- 11:10Dayna Roselli: Some of the venues are 21 and over.
- 11:12Dayna Roselli: Did you mention that yet?
- 11:13Sean McAllister: Uh not yet.
- 11:14Dayna Roselli: Okay, good.
- 11:15Dayna Roselli: I was like, did I not hear you say that?
- 11:18Dayna Roselli: And also um, they're looking for vendors.
- 11:21Dayna Roselli: So if you're in Las Vegas um or listening, you know, even outside, there's a form.
- 11:26Dayna Roselli: Go to neoncityfestival.com for info and to apply.
- 11:30Dayna Roselli: Um, but with this large footprint, there's gonna be a lot of, I'm assuming, different vendors and booths and a ton of opportunity for sure.
- 11:37Dayna Roselli: You may want to get in on that, right?
- 11:39Sean McAllister: Yeah, whether you have an like an art, I don't know if they'll take like arts and crafts kind of things.
- 11:44Sean McAllister: I don't know.
- 11:44Sean McAllister: Who knows?
- 11:45Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 11:46Dayna Roselli: Um and then check and see.
- 11:48Dayna Roselli: And then also it starts at five o'clock.
- 11:51Dayna Roselli: Did you mention that yet?
- 11:52Dayna Roselli: Not yet.
- 11:54Dayna Roselli: I was like, wait, because sometimes I read ahead and I'm kind of listening to you, but I'm not.
- 12:00Sean McAllister: Okay, but it does start at five o'clock each night.
- 12:03Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 12:03Dayna Roselli: So, you know, there'll be a wide variety of different things.
- 12:07Dayna Roselli: The festivities, the the entertainment all starts up uh at five o'clock each night.
- 12:12Dayna Roselli: So it's gonna be fun.
- 12:13Dayna Roselli: I'm looking forward to it.
- 12:14Dayna Roselli: And you know what?
- 12:15Dayna Roselli: That time of year, the weather can be pretty good.
- 12:18Sean McAllister: It can be.
- 12:19Dayna Roselli: Sometimes last year during F1, we had a little misty rain.
- 12:23Sean McAllister: And there was a little bit of a little bit of rain.
- 12:25Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 12:26Sean McAllister: But it wasn't bad.
- 12:26Dayna Roselli: No, and that was kind of rare.
- 12:28Dayna Roselli: So we'll see what this year brings.
- 12:30Sean McAllister: Again, that is November 22nd through the 25th, the Neon City Festival.
- 12:35Dayna Roselli: All right, now this is interesting.
- 12:37Dayna Roselli: Thunder from Down Under, one of our very popular mail review shows here in Las Vegas.
- 12:43Dayna Roselli: They perform over at the Excalibur.
- 12:45Dayna Roselli: They are now setting up shop also in Nashville.
- 12:49Dayna Roselli: This is so interesting, Sean.
- 12:50Dayna Roselli: You and I saw Adam Stack of Spy Entertainment.
- 12:53Dayna Roselli: They run the show there, Thunder from Down Under.
- 12:56Dayna Roselli: And he was telling us about this.
- 12:58Dayna Roselli: And he said, you know, Nashville is really becoming this Bachelorette hotspot.
- 13:05Dayna Roselli: And so we're putting Thunder there.
- 13:07Dayna Roselli: And we thought, what a great idea.
- 13:09Dayna Roselli: Quickly, before we get into the conversation about it, they're gonna be doing Thursday through Saturday at the Woolworth Theater in Nashville.
- 13:16Dayna Roselli: Show start September 26th.
- 13:19Dayna Roselli: Um, they have a show one time one night, and then I think uh like a nine and eleven on like Fridays and Saturdays.
- 13:26Dayna Roselli: So this is gonna be good.
- 13:27Sean McAllister: I think this is an absolutely brilliant idea.
- 13:31Sean McAllister: There was a couple years ago uh I went to Nashville, and our taxi driver was telling us that his just about entire weekend is full of uh ri trips for bachelorettes.
- 13:44Sean McAllister: He said they the city is just exploding in that industry, and it was as a matter of fact, it was just before Dolly Parton opened her hotel in Nashville that's geared specifically toward bachelorette parties.
- 13:58Sean McAllister: Wow.
- 13:59Sean McAllister: So they're taking it serious, and uh you know, you would normally think Las Vegas is the place to go for your bachelorette, but Nashville is you know pulling that business.
- 14:08Dayna Roselli: Are we competing with them now?
- 14:10Dayna Roselli: Uh I think it can be a happy coexistence.
- 14:13Dayna Roselli: Yeah, coexistence.
- 14:14Dayna Roselli: Yeah, well, you know, if you pick up on a trend, I mean, I I don't know.
- 14:19Dayna Roselli: I'm like, all I do is see dollar signs for thunder from down under right now.
- 14:22Sean McAllister: Oh, without a doubt.
- 14:24Sean McAllister: Without a doubt.
- 14:25Dayna Roselli: And a lot of good times for people in Nashville.
- 14:28Dayna Roselli: I'm glad though, because if you do go into Nashville for a bachelorette party, you want things to do, and this is only gonna make that weekend better.
- 14:35Dayna Roselli: So um, man, they're gonna clean up the World Worth Theater in Nashville show starts September 26th, or come visit our Thunder from Done Under Show.
- 14:44Dayna Roselli: It's great at the Xcaliber.
- 14:47Dayna Roselli: Um, it's been a hit for many, many, many years, and you know, we put on the best parties here in Vegas, and then well, I guess Nashville.
- 14:59Dayna Roselli: Anyway, good for them though.
- 15:01Dayna Roselli: Getting getting creative and and coming up with new ideas.
- 15:03Dayna Roselli: So we'll see, we'll see if more things start to open up there.
- 15:06Sean McAllister: Yeah, like that.
- 15:07Sean McAllister: Hey, uh, we were at a birthday party the other day at the Palms Pool.
- 15:14Sean McAllister: I mean, it sounds like this is gonna be a crazy event, doesn't it?
- 15:17Dayna Roselli: Well, it's so funny because you're like, we were at a birthday party.
- 15:21Dayna Roselli: Rick Springfield's birthday party.
- 15:23Dayna Roselli: Rick Springfield's birthday party.
- 15:25Sean McAllister: He turned 75, and this guy looks fantastic.
- 15:30Dayna Roselli: Oh my god, 55.
- 15:32Dayna Roselli: I mean, yeah.
- 15:34Dayna Roselli: I'm terrible with age, so I don't know.
- 15:36Dayna Roselli: Like 60s.
- 15:39Sean McAllister: Good.
- 15:40Dayna Roselli: He looks good.
- 15:41Sean McAllister: Bottom line, he looks good.
- 15:42Dayna Roselli: Yeah, he looked really, really good.
- 15:44Dayna Roselli: Rick Springfield, popular uh singer, songwriter, you know, he was an actor in General Hospital back in the 80s.
- 15:52Dayna Roselli: Um, I did say to my friend, I'm going to interview Rick Springfield, and she said, Who?
- 15:56Dayna Roselli: And I was like, What?
- 15:57Dayna Roselli: She's a lot younger than me, though.
- 15:59Dayna Roselli: So I was like, How do you not know?
- 16:00Dayna Roselli: And then I said the song, Jesse's Girl.
- 16:02Dayna Roselli: I said, Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 16:03Dayna Roselli: Um, listen, Jesse's Girl, he's got so many hits, and Rick puts on a fantastic show.
- 16:08Dayna Roselli: We were happy to be over there for his 75th birthday at Palms.
- 16:12Dayna Roselli: He was doing a show at the Pearl Concert Theater that night.
- 16:15Dayna Roselli: So they had a cake for him, and he was mixing up some Jesse's Girl cocktails with Sammy's.
- 16:21Sean McAllister: Uh rum.
- 16:22Sean McAllister: He partners with Sammy Hagar on a line of rum.
- 16:26Sean McAllister: So, you know, he was out repping the brand, mixing the cocktails, pouring them out for everybody, even though it was his birthday, so he should have been having someone pour shots for him.
- 16:36Dayna Roselli: I know, I know.
- 16:37Sean McAllister: But he was put to work.
- 16:38Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 16:39Dayna Roselli: All the fans were there waiting.
- 16:40Dayna Roselli: Uh, we did sit down with Rick and had a great conversation.
- 16:44Dayna Roselli: Uh, it was great to talk to him and talk to him about how he keeps so young, what he loves to do in Vegas, and about that famous song Jesse's Girl.
- 16:52Dayna Roselli: How do you stay young?
- 16:53SPEAKER_00: Birthday cake.
- 16:54SPEAKER_00: I love a birthday cake.
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: I hate cake, actually, but it was very sweet of them to make that monster.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: Um, I always watch what I eat.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: I work out a lot, I get aerobics on stage.
- 17:06SPEAKER_00: I love what I do.
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: And um.
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: Uh, you know, I I I do checkups all the time.
- 17:12SPEAKER_00: Uh I'm a big believer in uh doing uh pre- all the pre-working how your body's reacting.
- 17:21SPEAKER_00: I lost my dad because he was uh he was averse to that.
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: He didn't kinda check up on him.
- 17:26SPEAKER_00: So that was a big impression on me.
- 17:28SPEAKER_00: I love my dad, big impression on me.
- 17:33SPEAKER_00: I'm trying to stick to them.
- 17:36Dayna Roselli: You come to your opponent, you're doing a show and a fight.
- 17:40Dayna Roselli: I've seen you many times in the first.
- 17:43Dayna Roselli: What do you like about the box of minigas?
- 17:44SPEAKER_00: Uh I spent two years here doing a fact.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: I just love the tension.
- 17:52SPEAKER_00: You know the people are here to party and then some of the comfort.
- 17:55SPEAKER_00: There's no there's not a lot of tension.
- 18:01Dayna Roselli: Do you do for fun when you visit Vinegas?
- 18:02Dayna Roselli: Anything, or do you just chill and then go do your shows?
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah, just chill.
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: Uh um my shovels are in a that's that's the fun.
- 18:10SPEAKER_00: That's the party.
- 18:11SPEAKER_00: So I'm I'm really kinda looking for another party.
- 18:14Dayna Roselli: Um, I'm like to just uh this amazing um, okay, so when you hear I mean it's my people love this, I feel like everyone knows.
- 18:49SPEAKER_00: My life is before Jesus.
- 18:53SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 18:53SPEAKER_00: That's the dividing line between uh the two parts of my life, and um um you know, I I love the reaction, of course.
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: Like really like having someone who and uh over your child.
- 19:05SPEAKER_00: That's that personal to me.
- 19:10Dayna Roselli: Happy birthday to Rick.
- 19:12Dayna Roselli: What a nice guy.
- 19:13Dayna Roselli: Oh, he was great, and you know, he loved having the fans out there, and it was happy birthday, and I need to follow whatever plan he's following because Well, you always have his checkups, he gets his checkups and all that kind of thing.
- 19:28Dayna Roselli: So very good to hear him talk about that, and obviously he had a situation in his life that made him, you know, go, hey, I gotta do more and keep on top of my health, and and he's doing well.
- 19:38Dayna Roselli: So we love that.
- 19:39Sean McAllister: And by the way, Dana, uh Rick was also just added to the Downtown Rocks free concert series.
- 19:47Sean McAllister: This happens uh weekends down on Fremont Street.
- 19:50Sean McAllister: He's going to be performing back here in Las Vegas on Saturday, October 5th.
- 19:56Dayna Roselli: It's free.
- 19:56Sean McAllister: And it's free.
- 19:57Sean McAllister: That's the best part.
- 19:58Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's awesome, right?
- 20:00Dayna Roselli: Um also in the lineup before Rick, uh Common Kings, Joe Nichols is performing on the September 7th, Sublime with Rome performing September 21st.
- 20:09Dayna Roselli: So what a lineup.
- 20:10Sean McAllister: They do year after year, they bring in such good like good bands that create a a fun vibe down there on Fremont Street.
- 20:20Sean McAllister: Like the energy's pumping.
- 20:22Sean McAllister: It's it's fantastic that they've uh you know committed to doing this year after year.
- 20:28Dayna Roselli: I mean, people always ask me, what do you love about Las Vegas?
- 20:31Dayna Roselli: It's like a very popular thing on threads now.
- 20:33Dayna Roselli: I've tried and get on threads a little bit like the social media.
- 20:36Dayna Roselli: Like what and I must say, just even thinking about that, like you and I haven't been to one of those, like we do so much, and we haven't even had time to go to one of the free concerts.
- 20:47Sean McAllister: That's true.
- 20:48Sean McAllister: I know.
- 20:48Sean McAllister: And I've been I mean, this would I've been I love to get down there, but haven't been able to.
- 20:55Sean McAllister: Also, uh Nashville Unplugged.
- 21:01Sean McAllister: That's a free show too.
- 21:03Sean McAllister: You know, and there is some great free entertainment.
- 21:06Sean McAllister: There's the bands at you know, Fountain Blue, and I mean, everywhere we do have uh maybe that's an upcoming show.
- 21:14Dayna Roselli: I know we don't have time to do it all.
- 21:15Dayna Roselli: We did do the Fountain Blue entertainment in one of our tips recently, but it's just it's endless with all these different things, you know?
- 21:21Sean McAllister: Which is a good thing.
- 21:23Dayna Roselli: Yes, good because Vegas is getting expensive.
- 21:25Dayna Roselli: We hear it over and over again.
- 21:26Dayna Roselli: A lot of places are getting expensive, but you know, we're hearing a lot of people say, like, Vegas is getting really expensive.
- 21:33Dayna Roselli: And so remember, there are free things to do.
- 21:36Dayna Roselli: You don't have to spend money to do everything.
- 21:38Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 21:39Dayna Roselli: So listen to Vegas Revealed.
- 21:41Dayna Roselli: We've got you covered.
- 21:42Dayna Roselli: Let's move over to the Wynn Las Vegas now.
- 21:45Dayna Roselli: This is not free, but it's a beautiful restaurant and it's reopening.
- 21:49Dayna Roselli: Lacave Wine and Food Hideaway closed for renovations at Wynn.
- 21:53Dayna Roselli: Um, it's been open for a very long time.
- 21:55Dayna Roselli: Um, if you've visited the win, you've probably walked by, eaten there, had some wine there.
- 22:00Dayna Roselli: Um, sat there and and caught up with friends.
- 22:03Dayna Roselli: It's a great place.
- 22:04Dayna Roselli: And it is now officially back open by the time this podcast uh drops.
- 22:08Dayna Roselli: It opened on Wednesday, August 21st.
- 22:10Dayna Roselli: And I'm excited to see what it looks like.
- 22:13Sean McAllister: Yeah, because the Lakav before, it was uh kind of a really intimate feel.
- 22:19Sean McAllister: It kind of felt like being in a wine cellar a little bit.
- 22:23Sean McAllister: Right.
- 22:23Sean McAllister: Um, but they've kind of refreshed the the look in there and brightened it up.
- 22:28Sean McAllister: They added a contemporary bar uh in a garden room.
- 22:32Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 22:32Sean McAllister: So, you know, the greenery, the light, I think they're kind of going a different direction.
- 22:37Sean McAllister: And I that's great.
- 22:38Dayna Roselli: Yeah, really good.
- 22:39Dayna Roselli: I can't wait to go over and check it out.
- 22:41Dayna Roselli: Um, Lacave is open Monday through Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 4 to 10 p.m.
- 22:48Dayna Roselli: They're doing a brunch on Saturday and Sunday, uh 9 a.m.
- 22:52Dayna Roselli: to 1.30 p.m.
- 22:53Dayna Roselli: So lots of different choices.
- 22:54Dayna Roselli: You can go on open table or go to the website and reserve.
- 22:58Dayna Roselli: Always reserve in Vegas just in case.
- 23:00Sean McAllister: Just in case.
- 23:01Sean McAllister: If the if you get there and the restaurant's empty and you have a reservation, well then you have the place to yourself.
- 23:07Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 23:08Dayna Roselli: It's true.
- 23:09Dayna Roselli: And sometimes you don't think you need a reservation and then you log on at like the last minute.
- 23:14Dayna Roselli: Or like, oh crap.
- 23:15Dayna Roselli: Yeah, the morning up.
- 23:16Sean McAllister: What am I gonna do now?
- 23:16Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's like you can go to dinner at 4 45 p.m.
- 23:19Dayna Roselli: or 10 30 p.m.
- 23:20Dayna Roselli: And you're like, that's all the only choices.
- 23:24Sean McAllister: And you don't want either of those choices.
- 23:26Dayna Roselli: No.
- 23:27Sean McAllister: Uh hey, let's move on to some iconic musicians who are making tour stops here in Las Vegas.
- 23:34Sean McAllister: Uh, iconic British duo Tears for Fears are performing at at Fountain Blue.
- 23:41Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and they're doing an exclusive three-night show run at the Blue Live Theater.
- 23:46Dayna Roselli: And this is gonna take place Wednesday, October 30th, Friday, November 1st, and Saturday, November 2nd.
- 23:52Dayna Roselli: Shows are at 8 p.m.
- 23:54Dayna Roselli: And I think a lot of people will head to this.
- 23:56Dayna Roselli: They're very popular, they have a lot of hits, and I don't can't think of anyway in my recent time where they performed in Las Vegas.
- 24:04Sean McAllister: No.
- 24:04Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 24:05Sean McAllister: No, I can't either.
- 24:06Sean McAllister: Uh, we're also getting ready to welcome Andy Bell from Erasure performing at uh the Encore Theater over at Win Las Vegas.
- 24:15Sean McAllister: That's coming up on October 26th.
- 24:18Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 24:19Dayna Roselli: That's a one night only.
- 24:20Dayna Roselli: So if you want to see Andy of Erasure, you gotta get your tickets and make sure that you're all set because you won't have another opportunity.
- 24:27Dayna Roselli: Um, tickets for the performance go on sale Friday, August 23rd.
- 24:32Dayna Roselli: So um you're either listening and they're already on sale, or if you're listening on Thursday, they're not on sale yet, but they will be.
- 24:38Sean McAllister: All right, let's get a message from our title sponsor, and then we're gonna come back with some tips.

- 25:11SPEAKER_01: Call today.
- 25:14Dayna Roselli: Okay, now let's do some tips.
- 25:19Dayna Roselli: All right, we like to have a variety of things in our tips.
- 25:22Dayna Roselli: And Sean, you noticed this one.
- 25:24Dayna Roselli: It came across our inbox and you said, Hey, did you know the soul of Motown over at the Westgate received TripAdvisor's number one rating among theater and concert shows in Las Vegas?
- 25:35Dayna Roselli: And I said, No, I actually didn't.
- 25:39Sean McAllister: But you do now.
- 25:40Dayna Roselli: But I do now, and we might need to go see this.
- 25:42Sean McAllister: I know.
- 25:43Sean McAllister: I'm excited about this.
- 25:44Sean McAllister: So I don't know why I've not known about this show before.
- 25:50Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 25:51Sean McAllister: But I'm excited that, like you said, we do now.
- 25:54Sean McAllister: Uh the soul of Motown, obviously, it celebrates the incredible music that came out of Motown Records, talking about uh the platters, the drifters, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, uh Gladys Knight and the Pips, Aretha Franklin, Jackson Five, Mar Marvin Gaye.
- 26:12Dayna Roselli: I mean, all good just good musicians, Aretha Franklin, great songs.
- 26:17Sean McAllister: Yeah, so uh Soul of Motown has been uh playing at the Westgate Cabaret since 2019.
- 26:23Sean McAllister: Wow.
- 26:24Sean McAllister: So it's been here for a while, and I feel like this show needs to get more recognition.
- 26:28Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 26:29Sean McAllister: Because uh, first of all, that's a great showroom to be in, also.
- 26:33Dayna Roselli: I love that cabaret room.
- 26:35Dayna Roselli: It's very old school, but and I love that like there's like this bar in the back and tables, and then there's like normal kind of seats up front, a good variety, perfect size room.
- 26:44Dayna Roselli: I really like it.
- 26:45Dayna Roselli: Yeah, they perform more than 800 shows there, and so it does really well.
- 26:50Dayna Roselli: You know, the great thing about the Westgate is when they have conventions, people there's a lot of like uh foot traffic.
- 26:56Sean McAllister: There is, yeah.
- 26:57Dayna Roselli: And I'm sure a lot of people see the signs and make plans or go to dinner and then go to the show.
- 27:02Dayna Roselli: And so um tickets start at 50 bucks, but you can be front row for 70 bucks, so it's a deal.
- 27:08Sean McAllister: I mean, why wouldn't you be front row?
- 27:10Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 27:12Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 27:12Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 27:13Dayna Roselli: And then Wednesday to Sunday is when the shows are, and it's 5:30 p.m.
- 27:18Dayna Roselli: So a little earlier on Wednesday and Thursday, but then 7:30 on Friday and Saturday.
- 27:22Dayna Roselli: So some great show times there.
- 27:24Dayna Roselli: 5:30 is wonderful if you want to go to a show before dinner, and then 7:30 is good if you want to go after dinner.
- 27:29Sean McAllister: I think we're gonna need to plan a night out over at the Westgate and do uh dinner and a show, or if it's on Wednesday, a show and dinner and just make an evening of it over there because I I really do like the Westgate a lot.
- 27:45Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 27:45Dayna Roselli: And our friend uh Jeff, a publicist in town, I won't say his last name, but I don't want to publicize his review.
- 27:52Dayna Roselli: I don't know if he wants me to share this, but he recently went to the Elvis Tribute show over at Westgate.
- 27:57Dayna Roselli: And he said, you know what, it's really good.
- 27:59Dayna Roselli: And it's actually you'd think it would be a little cheesy.
- 28:02Dayna Roselli: I don't know why he went in thinking that.
- 28:03Dayna Roselli: And I thought the same thing.
- 28:04Dayna Roselli: Well, yeah, it's not.
- 28:05Dayna Roselli: And he was like, no, it's actually really, really well done and really good.
- 28:09Dayna Roselli: So we'll have to deep dive into that someday, too.
- 28:11Sean McAllister: Yeah, excited to go and see that one too.
- 28:14Sean McAllister: So you know, honoring the legacy of Elvis Presley over at that property.
- 28:18Dayna Roselli: All right, through the years, Sean and I have interviewed a very popular psychic named Mystic Mona.
- 28:26Sean McAllister: Mystic Mona knows everything.
- 28:28Dayna Roselli: She's amazing, right?
- 28:29Dayna Roselli: She's always fun.
- 28:30Dayna Roselli: She does our tarot card readings, and you know what?
- 28:33Dayna Roselli: She hits the nail a lot of the time.
- 28:36Sean McAllister: Mystic Mona knows what's going on.
- 28:38Dayna Roselli: Well, she's doing readings at Gatsby's cocktail lounge now uh once a month.
- 28:44Dayna Roselli: I love this.
- 28:45Dayna Roselli: Um, to kind of like celebrate zodiac days.
- 28:49Dayna Roselli: So, like for the Libras, she's doing Thursday, September 26th.
- 28:53Dayna Roselli: For Scorpio, Thursday, October 24th.
- 28:56Dayna Roselli: Sagittarius, Thursday, December 5th.
- 28:59Dayna Roselli: So you can go there, and the whole event is really fun.
- 29:03Dayna Roselli: Um, it Gatsby's does this Zodiac Days party, and you arrive and they have like a zodiac necklace for you.
- 29:12Dayna Roselli: They have some themed cocktails, and now you can get a free reading from Mystic Mona.
- 29:17Sean McAllister: That's really fun.
- 29:18Sean McAllister: Although I'm bummed because I'm an Aries, so I have to wait until like the other side of the year.
- 29:24Dayna Roselli: You do.
- 29:25Dayna Roselli: April?
- 29:26Sean McAllister: In April, yeah.
- 29:27Dayna Roselli: Early April.
- 29:28Dayna Roselli: So yeah.
- 29:30Sean McAllister: So we're like 10.
- 29:31Dayna Roselli: I can't believe you're an Aries.
- 29:32Sean McAllister: Why?
- 29:33Dayna Roselli: I just I dated an Aries and I just dislike him.
- 29:36Dayna Roselli: I didn't like his ways really.
- 29:38Sean McAllister: All Aries are created equal.
- 29:43Dayna Roselli: I guess it's better to like work with an Aries than it is to date an Aries.
- 29:47Sean McAllister: Maybe.
- 29:50Dayna Roselli: Oh my goodness.
- 29:52Dayna Roselli: All right, what else do we have?
- 29:53Dayna Roselli: I think that's it.
- 29:54Dayna Roselli: That's it.
- 29:55Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that was our tips.
- 29:56Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 29:57Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 29:58Dayna Roselli: I'm going to a Raiders training camp tonight at Allegiant Stadium.
- 30:01Dayna Roselli: Looking forward to that.
- 30:02Dayna Roselli: You're going to a show at the Smith Center.
- 30:03Sean McAllister: Yeah, going to see company uh over at the Smith Center.
- 30:06Sean McAllister: They're doing a run here in Las Vegas.
- 30:08Sean McAllister: So um we'll chat about that next week, but um we'll have more on social media because that'll be more timely for the run.
- 30:17Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 30:18Dayna Roselli: A lot of football things coming up too that we'll talk about because football season's gonna be.
- 30:22Sean McAllister: Football season's almost here.
- 30:23Sean McAllister: I mean, you you're training camp.
- 30:25Sean McAllister: I know.
- 30:26Dayna Roselli: I'm going to training camp when it's 110 out.
- 30:29Sean McAllister: Well, listen, this is the the conundrum we have with fall sports because I, you know, growing up on the East Coast, it's like by the time football rolls around, you're in your fall clothes.
- 30:41Sean McAllister: You're, you know, putting the heavy jacket on, getting ready to, you know, bring a thermos of hot cocoa out there.
- 30:47Sean McAllister: Not in Las Vegas.
- 30:48Dayna Roselli: No, not in Las Vegas.
- 30:49Sean McAllister: And same thing when we get into playoff hockey.
- 30:51Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 30:52Sean McAllister: Like when it earlier in the that's earlier in the summer, but still, like going from uh 115 outside to what 55 degrees inside.
- 31:03Sean McAllister: Like you have to bring winter clothes with you that you can't wear outside.
- 31:08Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 31:09Dayna Roselli: It's crazy.
- 31:10Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's different here, but you know what?
- 31:11Dayna Roselli: I wouldn't trade it for the world.
- 31:12Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 31:14Dayna Roselli: You know, and even when it's really hot, it has been, I'll admit, like this year has been hotter than ever.
- 31:18Dayna Roselli: And like recently, when we went to Rick Rick Springfield's birthday, it was outside, and I don't know why.
- 31:24Dayna Roselli: It felt like the hottest day I've ever experienced, but I think because I just had a little weird cackle in my hottest day.
- 31:31Dayna Roselli: Anyway, um it's sizzling.
- 31:33Dayna Roselli: It's sizzling, yeah.
- 31:35Dayna Roselli: It was like a personal sound effect.
- 31:37Dayna Roselli: Um it was humid and hot and windy all at once.
- 31:42Sean McAllister: It was the wind has kicked up a bit too.
- 31:46Dayna Roselli: Literally took a shower to get ready to interview Rick, and it just all went downhill after I waited outside for a half hour.
- 31:51Dayna Roselli: I just looked like a hot mess.
- 31:52Dayna Roselli: In the TV show, I'm like sweating, my hair is pulled up in a banana clip.
- 31:58Dayna Roselli: It's awful.
- 31:59Dayna Roselli: Then I had to come home and shower.
- 32:01Dayna Roselli: I told you, I've been showering so much lately because it's so hot here.
- 32:04Dayna Roselli: I feel like I work out, I shower.
- 32:06Dayna Roselli: Then I'm like, oh, I want to go swimming, and then I shower, have to shower after I swim to get the chlorine out of my hair.
- 32:12Dayna Roselli: Like shower to go to the gym, and then you know, go to event, shower, stand outside, come home, shower.
- 32:18Dayna Roselli: It's like, gosh, my skin's gonna fall off.
- 32:20Sean McAllister: Well, let's hope that it doesn't.
- 32:24Sean McAllister: But I think everyone who encounters you will appreciate your cleanliness.
- 32:30Dayna Roselli: Okay, good.
- 32:31Dayna Roselli: I don't even do my hair anymore.
- 32:32Dayna Roselli: They don't appreciate that.
- 32:33Dayna Roselli: It's just like a hot mess.
- 32:34Dayna Roselli: Everything's a hot mess.
- 32:36Dayna Roselli: I guess we could use it to be in the 90s.
- 32:38Dayna Roselli: I'm looking forward to that for the first time in my the late fall 90s are gonna be great.
- 32:44Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 32:44Sean McAllister: Well, that's it for this episode.
