- 0:34Speaker 1: Producer Pooh. Candice has just tickled herself.
- 0:36Speaker 6: I did, because I just got crazy on the claps
- 0:38Speaker 6: at the end.
- 0:39Speaker 1: I heard the claps. I tried something new at.
- 0:41Speaker 4: The end, and I liked it.
- 0:43Speaker 1: I hated it. doubled up but i was like well
- 0:48Speaker 1: my my hand is still broken so i can't clap
- 0:50Speaker 1: right i never thought i wanted to clap so bad
- 0:52Speaker 1: until i hear you guys clap every day off beat.
- 0:55Speaker 4: Well no we're not off beat but like your claps
- 0:57Speaker 4: are a little louder and they're.
- 0:58Speaker 6: Like by the mic i can't get my clap close
- 1:01Speaker 6: to the mic.
- 1:01Speaker 1: You can't snap you can't clap.
- 1:03Speaker 6: No but i'll tell you something funny speaking of snaps
- 1:07Speaker 6: Is she drunk?
- 1:08Speaker 4: No, I just got so tickled. I didn't plan to.
- 1:11Speaker 7: Okay.
- 1:12Speaker 6: I was sitting on the couch and I like, I've
- 1:14Speaker 6: noticed I have this nervous thing that I do with
- 1:16Speaker 6: my toes, like where you just wiggle your toes like this.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Wait, are you serious?
- 1:20Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:20Speaker 1: You know I do too.
- 1:21Speaker 7: No. Yeah.
- 1:22Speaker 4: My brother does and I've noticed it when I'm at
- 1:24Speaker 4: his house.
- 1:25Speaker 1: I have RTS. You do too.
- 1:26Speaker 6: You do?
- 1:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:27Speaker 4: Restless toe syndrome?
- 1:28Speaker 7: Yes.
- 1:31Speaker 4: Well, I was on the couch the other day and
- 1:33Speaker 4: I noticed it can make a little sound.
- 1:35Speaker 7: And so.
- 1:35Speaker 4: So, no, listen. And so I did it and I
- 1:43Speaker 4: was like.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Look at her.
- 1:45Speaker 4: I was like, that might be louder than my finger snap.
- 1:50Speaker 1: No, it's not.
- 1:50Speaker 6: And so I went with my toes and then I
- 1:52Speaker 6: snapped with my fingers.
- 1:53Speaker 7: And I was like.
- 1:54Speaker 1: You mean to tell me you have a hidden talent
- 1:56Speaker 1: you can toe snap?
- 1:57Speaker 6: I think my toe snap is louder than my finger snap.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Poor Eric. Poor Eric is trying to get the mood started. Oh,
- 2:04Speaker 1: my God.
- 2:04Speaker 9: It was so funny. Enzo goes to bed. She's on
- 2:08Speaker 9: the couch.
- 2:09Speaker 1: You want a glass of wine? And all of a sudden,
- 2:12Speaker 1: she's like, babe, come listen to my toe snaps. Mood killed.
- 2:17Speaker 6: Anyways, that's not at all what I planned to talk
- 2:19Speaker 6: about at the top of the show.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Well, you know what?
- 2:21Speaker 1: I'm glad you did.
- 2:22Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm sure.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Every ounce of me wants to ask you to do it.
- 2:26Speaker 4: I know.
- 2:27Speaker 1: But I don't think.
- 2:28Speaker 6: I'll try to record it this weekend on my phone.
- 2:31Speaker 1: That's not going to be good enough.
- 2:31Speaker 4: I need to see it live in studio.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Well, maybe later.
- 2:35Speaker 4: Put it on the wheel of misfortune.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Toast snaps. Toast snaps. Oh, which we will be doing
- 2:40Speaker 1: at 8.30 today. Oh, God, that is so funny.
- 2:42Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:43Speaker 1: No, but I've had a problem, and my dad had
- 2:44Speaker 1: the same problem.
- 2:45Speaker 10: Really?
- 2:46Speaker 1: I never stop wiggling my toes.
- 2:47Speaker 5: Okay.
- 2:48Speaker 1: And it's so bad that people I've, you know, been with, like,
- 2:51Speaker 1: girlfriends and stuff.
- 2:52Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 2:53Speaker 1: They're like, can you stop?
- 2:55Speaker 6: Interesting.
- 2:56Speaker 1: And I'm like, why? But some people have restless leg syndrome.
- 2:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:59Speaker 1: I have RTS.
- 3:00Speaker 6: Yeah, interesting. I guess I do, too, but maybe that's why, like,
- 3:03Speaker 6: my toes are in shape, because they're always moving.
- 3:05Speaker 7: Oh!
- 3:06Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 3:07Speaker 1: Her toes be bench pressing?
- 3:08Speaker 4: I mean, think about it. Like, some people's toes are, like, chunky.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Right, yeah.
- 3:12Speaker 6: And I think my toes are really, like, toned.
- 3:15Speaker 1: They're always doing cardio.
- 3:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Mine, too.
- 3:18Speaker 6: Interesting.
- 3:19Speaker 1: You know I have good-looking toes. Are your toes out?
- 3:21Speaker 1: My toes are not out. Oh, okay. But maybe that's
- 3:23Speaker 1: why my toes are in shape.
- 3:25Speaker 7: Right.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Yeah, they're nice.
- 3:27Speaker 9: I was thinking your toes might have been on Ozempic,
- 3:28Speaker 9: but they're not.
- 3:29Speaker 7: No.
- 3:30Speaker 6: They're just snapping all day in my shoes.
- 3:32Speaker 1: They just snap all day. Good for you. Yeah.
- 3:34Speaker 9: Well, I've learned something new about Candace Lopez, and I've
- 3:37Speaker 9: known her for almost 30 years.
- 3:38Speaker 6: When I'm not so tickled, maybe I'll take my shoe
- 3:40Speaker 6: off and you can record it.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Yeah. Get your toe on? Oh, yeah. Let me record
- 3:44Speaker 1: it because I'll sell it on Only Feet.
- 3:45Speaker 2: No.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Only Feet. I will. Producer Pooh is here talking about toes.
- 3:50Speaker 1: We don't want to see his toes. No, you don't
- 3:52Speaker 1: need to see them.
- 3:53Speaker 9: We've seen those jackhammers.
- 3:54Speaker 6: I don't think he can snap with his toes.
- 3:56Speaker 1: No, he can't. He can't really walk with them.
- 3:57Speaker 6: Wow.
- 4:01Speaker 1: What's going on, pal?
- 4:03Speaker 11: I'm so proud of my son, my 14-year-old Brendan. Last night,
- 4:07Speaker 11: I went to his homecoming game. And he got an interception.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Nice. Yeah, ran for about 12 yards. Sweet. Got popped,
- 4:15Speaker 1: but he still ran.
- 4:16Speaker 3: For 12 yards.
- 4:17Speaker 1: So he got an interception. I was a proud dad moment.
- 4:20Speaker 1: That's awesome. That's a big deal. And they won 49
- 4:22Speaker 1: to 0. Yay. They beat Saxxy. So shout out to
- 4:26Speaker 1: the Pirates. Well, shout out to the Pirates.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Yeah, congrats.
- 4:28Speaker 9: That's always a good feeling. My son's out here getting
- 4:31Speaker 9: penalties because he's hitting.
- 4:32Speaker 1: People too hard.
- 4:33Speaker 7: Oh, no.
- 4:33Speaker 1: It's okay.
- 4:34Speaker 7: It's okay.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Yeah, it's fine.
- 4:36Speaker 9: Everything's fine. Don't worry about it. That's so funny, though.
- 4:39Speaker 9: I can't get over the toe thing.
- 4:40Speaker 3: Me neither.
- 4:42Speaker 9: Well, we got a lot going on in the show today. Hopefully,
- 4:44Speaker 9: we'll get a live toe snap later on a Friday.
- 4:47Speaker 7: I know.
- 4:47Speaker 6: I had something really heartwarming to say this morning, too,
- 4:49Speaker 6: but oh, well, it's fine.
- 4:51Speaker 1: No, we can still save it for later. You want
- 4:52Speaker 1: to save it for later?
- 4:53Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 4:53Speaker 1: All right, let's kick off the show.
- 4:55Speaker 7: The new Mix 102.9.
- 4:59Speaker 3: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 5:02Speaker 3: Kid in the Morning.
- 5:03Speaker 7: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 5:05Speaker 9: We got a lot going on today. We got a
- 5:07Speaker 9: big announcement coming up at like 7.20 that I'm excited for.
- 5:10Speaker 9: We got a Dirty Little Secret at 7.30.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Free gas on the way if you want that. Don't
- 5:15Speaker 1: forget about it. We got the jackpot.
- 5:17Speaker 9: It's 200 bucks right now at 8.30. Candace Lopez, what up?
- 5:20Speaker 6: Well, I just want to give you a heads up.
- 5:21Speaker 4: I mentioned this towards the end of the show yesterday.
- 5:24Speaker 6: But if you didn't hear it, there is going to
- 5:25Speaker 6: be a large emergency response at McKinney National Airport today.
- 5:29Speaker 6: Because if you come across this and you don't know
- 5:31Speaker 6: that this is just a training exercise, you're probably freaking out.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Yeah, it could be scary.
- 5:34Speaker 6: Yeah, it's going to start around 7 this morning. It's
- 5:37Speaker 6: not an actual emergency, but you will see first responders,
- 5:40Speaker 6: emergency vehicles, a big scene simulating an actual emergency.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Good to know.
- 5:45Speaker 4: So heads up. And we got some high school football
- 5:47Speaker 4: to talk about, guys.
- 5:48Speaker 6: I didn't realize there were so many good games last night,
- 5:51Speaker 6: by the way.
- 5:51Speaker 1: There was huge games last night.
- 5:52Speaker 4: Allen beat Prosper.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Yeah, Allen. Allen's so good. Prosper's good, too. But Allen stomped.
- 5:57Speaker 1: It was like 50 to 21 or something. Yeah. Yeah.
- 6:01Speaker 6: But pick the winner of some of the big games tonight.
- 6:04Speaker 6: Cedar Hill Longhorns at Midlothian Panthers.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Cedar Hill.
- 6:07Speaker 4: No, I'm going with Midlothian.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Okay.
- 6:10Speaker 4: Panthers over Longhorns.
- 6:11Speaker 1: My picks have been pretty good lately, Candace. Yeah, they
- 6:13Speaker 1: have been kind of spot on.
- 6:14Speaker 9: You're right.
- 6:15Speaker 1: That's okay, though. We can keep tallying. Monday, we'll figure
- 6:18Speaker 1: out who's right or wrong.
- 6:19Speaker 6: Okay, you're going with Cedar Hill. I'm taking Midlothian.
- 6:22Speaker 11: Okay.
- 6:22Speaker 6: Who's going to win out of Keller Indians and Timber
- 6:24Speaker 6: Creek Falcons?
- 6:25Speaker 1: Oh, I don't know much about these schools, so I'm
- 6:27Speaker 1: going to have to go mascots on this one.
- 6:29Speaker 4: Okay.
- 6:29Speaker 1: So you're going to Falcon against a what?
- 6:32Speaker 4: Indian.
- 6:33Speaker 7: Indian?
- 6:33Speaker 1: Oh, I have to go an Indian.
- 6:35Speaker 7: Okay.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Over a Falcon? Yeah, he's going to... bow and arrow
- 6:38Speaker 1: oh that's right yeah.
- 6:41Speaker 6: I'm taking keller indians on that one as well all
- 6:43Speaker 6: right uh pick the winner out of this one oh
- 6:45Speaker 6: it's two cats basically lake highlands wildcats at plano east
- 6:49Speaker 6: panthers oh.
- 6:51Speaker 1: I don't know anything about i'm gonna go ahead and say.
- 6:54Speaker 6: Plano plano east panthers okay yeah well.
- 6:58Speaker 9: It's a panther versus what wildcat you know what's a
- 7:01Speaker 9: wildcat wildcat looks like a like a bobcat.
- 7:04Speaker 4: It's like a panther, but smaller-ish.
- 7:06Speaker 1: But wilder. Panthers are wild, too.
- 7:10Speaker 9: There's no domesticated panthers.
- 7:12Speaker 4: But wild isn't his name. Wild panther, wild cat.
- 7:14Speaker 1: She said it's wilder. I'm not going to argue about
- 7:16Speaker 1: my pigs.
- 7:17Speaker 6: Okay, fair enough. Guys, Wendy's has announced they are bringing
- 7:21Speaker 6: back their most requested thing, yellow packaging. Can you believe
- 7:26Speaker 6: this is what people are asking for?
- 7:27Speaker 10: I can.
- 7:28Speaker 4: Okay.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Because everything tasted better when it was yellow packaging.
- 7:31Speaker 6: Well, people online are saying we think that maybe the
- 7:34Speaker 6: taste will go up, that maybe the yellow packaging has powers.
- 7:38Speaker 6: Their chief marketing officer says we've been begging, people have
- 7:41Speaker 6: been begging us to go back to the yellow era.
- 7:44Speaker 1: I know. And can they bring something else back, too?
- 7:47Speaker 1: I want the Wendy's sunroom back.
- 7:49Speaker 6: Oh, yeah.
- 7:50Speaker 4: I forgot about that.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Oh, gosh.
- 7:52Speaker 7: Not me.
- 7:52Speaker 4: The sunroom.
- 7:53Speaker 9: Do you remember in the front of Wendy's there was
- 7:55Speaker 9: like a sunroom?
- 7:56Speaker 6: It was always there.
- 7:58Speaker 1: And it would be, I'm not kidding you, it would
- 7:59Speaker 1: be 150 degrees.
- 8:00Speaker 4: No one would even use it.
- 8:03Speaker 1: I would. You would? I loved.
- 8:05Speaker 4: Well, you were probably in Michigan.
- 8:06Speaker 3: At that point.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Yeah, at that point I was, so it was the
- 8:07Speaker 1: warmest part of the building.
- 8:09Speaker 11: Oh, okay.
- 8:09Speaker 6: No, we never sat there.
- 8:11Speaker 1: The burgers hit different in the sunroom.
- 8:13Speaker 6: People say, you know, the yellow era was a thing.
- 8:17Speaker 6: You know, the frost used to hit different in the
- 8:19Speaker 6: yellow cup.
- 8:20Speaker 1: It really did.
- 8:21Speaker 6: Yeah, well, heads up, September 28th, they're going to start
- 8:23Speaker 6: rolling out the yellow packaging at locations nationwide. It's not
- 8:26Speaker 6: going to be permanent, but I think they're going to
- 8:28Speaker 6: keep it through, like, the start of next year.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Good. You'd walk in that sunroom, and there'd be ashtrays
- 8:33Speaker 1: on the table.
- 8:34Speaker 4: Ashtrays at Wendy's?
- 8:35Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Oh, back in the day, people used to smoke everywhere, Candace.
- 8:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I guess so.
- 8:38Speaker 1: People were smoking at Wendy's. We just didn't pay attention.
- 8:41Speaker 4: Yeah, no, it's just normal.
- 8:43Speaker 6: Yeah, that's true.
- 8:43Speaker 1: There was a smoking section, and it was in the sunroom.
- 8:46Speaker 1: At Wendy's? Yes, I swear.
- 8:48Speaker 6: Did that happen in Dallas? Because I was born and
- 8:51Speaker 6: raised here.
- 8:51Speaker 1: I don't remember that. People smoked in fast food restaurants
- 8:53Speaker 1: back in the day.
- 8:54Speaker 5: I just don't remember that.
- 8:56Speaker 6: I was in the Playland.
- 8:57Speaker 4: It's fine or whatever.
- 8:58Speaker 1: People smoked in the Playland.
- 9:00Speaker 9: There was a kid in Garland I saw one time
- 9:04Speaker 9: smoking in the Playland.
- 9:05Speaker 7: No. Yes.
- 9:06Speaker 6: That sounds like somebody's rock album from the 90s.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Smoking in the Playland, crawling through the tubes.
- 9:12Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 9:13Speaker 1: No, you got to be careful. I think it still
- 9:15Speaker 1: happens in Mesquite.
- 9:16Speaker 6: No.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Yeah, anyway.
- 9:18Speaker 4: All right.
- 9:18Speaker 6: I'm Candace Lopez.
- 9:19Speaker 4: Those are your Texas Top Stories.
- 9:21Speaker 7: Ready?
- 9:21Speaker 9: We're about to do real or fake news, but I'm
- 9:23Speaker 9: excited today because we've got a big announcement at 720.
- 9:24Speaker 1: So don't miss that.
- 9:26Speaker 9: 720, Dirty Little Secret at 730 and Free Gas at 830.

- 11:21Speaker 1: I'm going to give you three headlines. You've got to

- 11:26Speaker 1: Scientists develop part mouse, part human brain. Oh.
- 11:31Speaker 6: What?
- 11:31Speaker 1: Scientists develop part mouse, part human brain. Headline number one.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Headline number two.
- 11:38Speaker 9: Researchers find that a woman saying, we need to talk,
- 11:42Speaker 9: raises a man's heart rate more than caffeine.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:46Speaker 9: Researchers find that a woman saying, we need to talk,
- 11:49Speaker 9: raises a man's heart rate more than caffeine.
- 11:52Speaker 1: That's headline number two. And headline number three.
- 11:55Speaker 9: Over 100 people got together in California to scream at
- 11:58Speaker 9: the ocean.
- 11:58Speaker 7: What?
- 12:00Speaker 9: Over 100 people got together in California to scream at
- 12:04Speaker 9: the ocean. Three headlines right there. You've got to tell
- 12:06Speaker 9: me which one do you think is the fake story.
- 12:09Speaker 9: Candace Lopez, we'd like to let you go first. You
- 12:12Speaker 9: could pass it to La Poo Poo Pants.
- 12:14Speaker 4: Ooh, this is tough today.
- 12:16Speaker 6: But lock me in for that first story, the mouse brain.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Oh, really?
- 12:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Okay, you sure?
- 12:21Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Positive.
- 12:22Speaker 4: Because I know it's just thinking about cheese if they
- 12:24Speaker 4: did that.
- 12:26Speaker 7: You know?
- 12:26Speaker 1: That's my brain.
- 12:28Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Wait a minute, do I have a mouse brain?
- 12:29Speaker 4: Part mouse, part human?
- 12:31Speaker 1: I think that's me. Anyway, let's lock it in.
- 12:32Speaker 7: Thank you.
- 12:33Speaker 1: You are locked in. Producer Poo, which one do you
- 12:35Speaker 1: think is the fake story? Lock me in for that
- 12:38Speaker 1: last story. Ain't nobody screaming at the ocean. No, really.
- 12:42Speaker 6: For what?
- 12:42Speaker 1: What the ocean do to you? Yeah, lock me in.
- 12:45Speaker 9: All right, let's lock that in. Going into the weekend
- 12:48Speaker 9: with a dub. The winner is me. Guys missed it.
- 12:58Speaker 9: The fake story is researchers find that a woman saying
- 13:01Speaker 9: we need to talk raises a man's heart rate more
- 13:03Speaker 9: than caffeine.
- 13:03Speaker 1: I thought that was true. Made that up, but it
- 13:06Speaker 1: sounds like it's real. I don't think so.
- 13:09Speaker 9: Well, unless I missed it, but it does make sense.
- 13:13Speaker 1: There's nothing worse than getting that text. Oh, that is like. Candace,
- 13:18Speaker 1: you don't understand what you do to a guy when
- 13:20Speaker 1: you do that.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:21Speaker 1: You ever do that to Eric?
- 13:22Speaker 6: No.
- 13:22Speaker 1: I think you do.
- 13:23Speaker 7: No.
- 13:24Speaker 1: It takes years off our life. Because we have no
- 13:27Speaker 1: idea what we're... I mean, I guess, you know, if
- 13:29Speaker 1: you weren't guilty of anything, you have nothing to worry about.
- 13:31Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly.
- 13:32Speaker 6: What are you hiding over there?
- 13:33Speaker 1: Good point.
- 13:35Speaker 7: All right.
- 13:35Speaker 1: The stories that are real. Scientists develop part mouse, part
- 13:38Speaker 1: human brain.
- 13:39Speaker 7: What?
- 13:39Speaker 1: This is a real story, and it's crazy. Scientists at Stanford.
- 13:43Speaker 9: have created mice whose brains contain large amounts of working
- 13:46Speaker 9: human brain tissue. Hoping that the hybrid animals can help
- 13:51Speaker 9: researchers study diseases that are difficult to recreate in normal
- 13:54Speaker 9: laboratory mice.
- 13:55Speaker 1: So what they did is they first, here's what you do.
- 13:58Speaker 9: You genetically kind of change the mice so they develop
- 14:00Speaker 9: almost none of their own cerebral cortex.
- 14:02Speaker 6: Okay.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Obviously, dummy.
- 14:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 14:04Speaker 9: And then what you do is you have that brain
- 14:06Speaker 9: area involved in memory, senses, and higher level thinking. And
- 14:09Speaker 9: then that turns into skin cells into small pieces of
- 14:11Speaker 9: human brain, and then it starts to overtake the mouse brain.
- 14:14Speaker 6: Okay.
- 14:15Speaker 1: I mean, I've done it before. It's easy. I can tell.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Got it. Super simple.
- 14:20Speaker 9: But honestly, this is also helping them study autism, study epilepsy.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Cerebral palsy. I was way wrong.
- 14:31Speaker 9: Some people are actually mad about it, though, because they
- 14:33Speaker 9: don't like mice being laboratory guinea pigs.
- 14:36Speaker 7: Totally. I don't know.
- 14:38Speaker 1: What do you do?
- 14:39Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 14:39Speaker 1: You know, I do kind of feel bad for the mice,
- 14:42Speaker 1: but do they even know what's going on?
- 14:43Speaker 4: No, probably not.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Does that matter?
- 14:45Speaker 4: Should it matter?
- 14:46Speaker 6: Yeah, that's tough.
- 14:47Speaker 1: I'll let you argue that. Let's talk about screaming at
- 14:49Speaker 1: the ocean. Okay, I like it.
- 14:50Speaker 9: Hundreds of people gathered to scream at the ocean in
- 14:53Speaker 9: San Francisco's Ocean Beach for a contest that gave them
- 14:58Speaker 9: one simple job, scream as loudly and dramatically as possible.
- 15:02Speaker 9: It's called the Gutterall Scream at the Sea event. And
- 15:05Speaker 9: it was organized by this girl who said she just
- 15:08Speaker 9: wanted a fun way to release tension and frustration and stress.
- 15:12Speaker 9: And I'm thinking about doing this because I think it
- 15:13Speaker 9: might help me.
- 15:14Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 15:14Speaker 9: So contestants were judged on volume, length, and style with
- 15:19Speaker 9: screams ranging from deep growls to high-pitched shrieks. So, I mean,
- 15:24Speaker 9: who do you think would win on the show if we.
- 15:25Speaker 1: All had to scream?
- 15:27Speaker 4: Probably you.
- 15:28Speaker 7: Yeah, you.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Yeah, probably.
- 15:29Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 15:30Speaker 1: I don't know. Am I just that loud?
- 15:32Speaker 6: Well, yeah.
- 15:32Speaker 4: My voice doesn't carry at all.
- 15:34Speaker 1: My voice ain't that loud. So I'm out. Who would
- 15:36Speaker 1: do a laugh at the ocean? Yeah.
- 15:37Speaker 6: It's like those scream clubs that were a viral thing
- 15:41Speaker 6: for a while, like a wellness trend.
- 15:42Speaker 9: That was a big deal. Either way, the girl who won,
- 15:44Speaker 9: her name was Olivia, and she screamed. She got first place,
- 15:48Speaker 9: hitting 121 decibels.
- 15:48Speaker 7: Whoa.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Whoa.
- 15:51Speaker 9: To put that in perspective, a jet engine on an
- 15:53Speaker 9: airplane is about 140 decibels.
- 15:56Speaker 4: What?
- 15:56Speaker 1: Yes.
- 15:58Speaker 6: Wow.
- 15:58Speaker 1: When it's in the air and it's passing by and
- 16:00Speaker 1: it's loud, it's like 140. She was at 120. You
- 16:02Speaker 1: know what? And I know Pooh's going to know this
- 16:05Speaker 1: because he heard me talking about it. Yeah. I looked
- 16:07Speaker 1: up the loudest animal. What's the loudest animal in the world?
- 16:12Speaker 1: And I did not expect this to be the sperm whale.
- 16:16Speaker 1: That was the loudest animal on the planet. With their clicks,
- 16:21Speaker 1: I guess they click in the ocean.
- 16:22Speaker 11: Okay.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Reaching 260 decibels.
- 16:27Speaker 7: Whoa.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Almost twice the sound of a jet engine, and it
- 16:31Speaker 1: travels for miles. Wow. Useless fact for the day.
- 16:34Speaker 4: Yeah, I like it.
- 16:35Speaker 1: I mean, what are they doing down there in the ocean? Clicking?
- 16:38Speaker 6: Right.
- 16:38Speaker 1: What are you clicking for?
- 16:40Speaker 4: Is it their toes like me?
- 16:41Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 16:42Speaker 1: 102.9.
- 16:46Speaker 7: The new Mix 102.9.
- 16:48Speaker 1: It's Mix 102.9. Bailey the Kid, Candice Lopez. Producer Poo
- 16:52Speaker 1: is here. We've got a big announcement at 720. Don't
- 16:53Speaker 1: miss that.
- 16:54Speaker 9: Of course, Dirty Little Secret at 730. We have Wheel
- 16:57Speaker 9: of Misfortune today.
- 16:59Speaker 10: Oh, yeah.
- 17:00Speaker 9: Oh, we've got a lot going on. That'll be around 830,
- 17:02Speaker 9: along with Free Gas right around then, too. So you
- 17:05Speaker 9: know how kids sometimes get obsessed with things, and we
- 17:07Speaker 9: were just talking about this off the air, and Pooh
- 17:09Speaker 9: wasn't in the room because Pooh's going to die about this.
- 17:11Speaker 1: I just asked Candace. I'm like, yeah, I was obsessed
- 17:13Speaker 1: with something weird as a kid. Were you too?
- 17:15Speaker 9: She says the most unhinged thing I never knew about
- 17:18Speaker 9: Candace Lopez. You told me as a kid you were
- 17:21Speaker 9: obsessed with– give me a drumroll. You were obsessed with.
- 17:26Speaker 4: The Battle of San Jacinto?
- 17:31Speaker 7: What?
- 17:31Speaker 4: I have no idea why.
- 17:34Speaker 7: What?
- 17:34Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 17:35Speaker 3: Why can't this.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Why don't you.
- 17:38Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 17:38Speaker 4: Maybe it's because I went to the Alamo. I don't
- 17:41Speaker 4: even know how to describe.
- 17:42Speaker 1: The Battle of San Jacinto or when it was. When
- 17:45Speaker 1: you say... I can't breathe.
- 17:47Speaker 4: Something about Texas history. I don't know.
- 17:49Speaker 1: You were obsessed with Texas history in general or specifically?
- 17:53Speaker 4: Just specifically the Battle of San Jacinto.
- 17:57Speaker 1: I thought mine was ridiculous. You are ridiculous. As a kid,
- 18:01Speaker 1: that is so random. I know. Such a random thing
- 18:04Speaker 1: to be- Wasn't it.
- 18:05Speaker 6: Like 18 minutes long or something?
- 18:07Speaker 1: You tell me.
- 18:09Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Okay. So you were just like, you couldn't stop learning
- 18:12Speaker 1: about it?
- 18:13Speaker 4: Yeah, I was.
- 18:14Speaker 6: Oddly enamored, or not enamored, just intrigued, yes.
- 18:18Speaker 1: You were infatuated by it.
- 18:19Speaker 6: The Alamo, and the Battle of San Jacinto, and Santa Ana,
- 18:23Speaker 6: and I don't know.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Wow, but you're not like even a big history person.
- 18:27Speaker 4: No, I couldn't tell you anything.
- 18:29Speaker 1: That's why.
- 18:29Speaker 4: I lose that part on Jeopardy.
- 18:31Speaker 1: So as a kid, though, you were just locked in.
- 18:34Speaker 4: Yeah, totally locked in.
- 18:35Speaker 1: On the Battle of San Jacinto.
- 18:36Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Nothing. No one's going to beat that one. That is
- 18:39Speaker 1: so random. Okay. I'll go with mine. Okay. I'll tell
- 18:43Speaker 1: you mine because I think you're going to laugh at me, Candice,
- 18:46Speaker 1: and Pooh.
- 18:46Speaker 5: Okay.
- 18:47Speaker 1: I have a very obsessive personality.
- 18:49Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 18:49Speaker 1: Like if I like something, I go all in on it.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Yeah. Okay.
- 18:54Speaker 1: This one was a little bit weird. Well, a couple things.
- 18:55Speaker 1: I don't think the first one was weird. I was
- 18:57Speaker 1: obsessed with wrestling. I was obsessed with the WWF.
- 18:59Speaker 7: Oh, yeah.
- 19:00Speaker 6: Cool.
- 19:00Speaker 4: All the boys were.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Hulk Hogan. I loved wrestling. I would pretend I was
- 19:05Speaker 1: a wrestling announcer as a kid.
- 19:07Speaker 9: Yeah. Here's the next one that I think I just
- 19:09Speaker 9: don't think you're going to understand why, and I don't
- 19:11Speaker 9: get it now either when I look back.
- 19:13Speaker 1: I was obsessed with bonsai trees.
- 19:16Speaker 7: What? What?
- 19:20Speaker 3: No.
- 19:21Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 19:22Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 19:23Speaker 1: The only thing I can.
- 19:24Speaker 7: Oh, what?
- 19:25Speaker 1: Like if I had multiple of them and I would.
- 19:29Speaker 4: And you would cut them and shape them?
- 19:30Speaker 1: Prune them and shape them. No.
- 19:32Speaker 6: Wasn't there a late night commercial about bonsai trees?
- 19:35Speaker 1: No.
- 19:35Speaker 6: Or am I thinking of the Chia Pet?
- 19:36Speaker 1: I think you're thinking of the Chia Pet.
- 19:37Speaker 9: But I think I was obsessed with because I think
- 19:39Speaker 9: I was obsessed with Karate Kid.
- 19:41Speaker 7: Oh, yeah.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Daniel-san. And Mr. Miyagi had one. Yeah, he sure did.
- 19:45Speaker 4: You just had bonsai trees in your room.
- 19:47Speaker 3: Yeah that's so weird yes do you.
- 19:52Speaker 6: Have special scissors or what yes i had special bonsai
- 19:55Speaker 6: pruning scissors it was a.
- 19:59Speaker 9: Whole thing And the reason I thought about it is
- 20:02Speaker 9: because the other day I was driving up Preston and
- 20:04Speaker 9: somebody had a bonsai tree stand and I got super excited.
- 20:07Speaker 4: Wow, just on the side of the road?
- 20:08Speaker 1: Yeah, on the side of the road.
- 20:09Speaker 4: Yeah, in one of the parking lots?
- 20:10Speaker 1: Bonsai tree's 20 bucks and I thought, what a deal.
- 20:12Speaker 4: Did you get one?
- 20:13Speaker 9: No, but I think I'm going to go by there today.
- 20:16Speaker 9: What were you obsessed with? Randomly, what were you obsessed
- 20:19Speaker 9: with as a kid?
- 20:20Speaker 1: With cast.
- 20:20Speaker 7: Cast.
- 20:21Speaker 1: Like, broke arm, if you break your arm. Cast? I
- 20:24Speaker 1: always wanted a cast. I wanted a cast.
- 20:26Speaker 7: What?
- 20:26Speaker 1: Because all the kids, when they broke their arm, what happened? Yeah,
- 20:30Speaker 1: everybody had to sign it.
- 20:31Speaker 11: Everybody signs it. So I had this idea. I said,
- 20:35Speaker 11: if I jump off this roof at this daycare, I
- 20:37Speaker 11: was like, if I break my arm.
- 20:39Speaker 1: So I tried to break my arm on purpose. Stop lying.
- 20:42Speaker 1: I ain't lying.
- 20:43Speaker 4: That's insane.
- 20:44Speaker 1: I jumped off. You tried to break your arm on
- 20:47Speaker 1: purpose to get a cast.
- 20:48Speaker 11: Yes, I tried to jump off the roof of this daycare.
- 20:51Speaker 11: Called Glen Karen in Duncanville. I tried to jump off.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Did it work? I hit the ground. No, I hit
- 20:57Speaker 1: the ground. They called my mom. She couldn't leave work.
- 21:00Speaker 1: So my Aunt Dale came up there, who is a nurse.
- 21:03Speaker 1: And she came over there. She called my mom. She said,
- 21:05Speaker 1: this child. is trying to break his arm. Unreal.
- 21:11Speaker 4: That is unhinged.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Have you ever had a cast?
- 21:13Speaker 7: Never.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Never? I've never broken anything in my life. Oh, I've
- 21:16Speaker 1: had too many.
- 21:17Speaker 6: Yeah, I've had one.
- 21:18Speaker 11: My kids have had it, but I've never had a cast.
- 21:20Speaker 11: But I always wanted.
- 21:21Speaker 1: One when I was little.
- 21:22Speaker 2: You know what?
- 21:22Speaker 1: This explains so much.
- 21:24Speaker 7: What?
- 21:24Speaker 4: It kind of does, yeah.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Did you hit your head? No, I didn't. Because I
- 21:30Speaker 1: think I figured out exactly what's going on. Now I
- 21:34Speaker 1: get it.
- 21:35Speaker 7: All right.
- 21:35Speaker 9: We have Texas top stories coming up and an announcement
- 21:38Speaker 9: at 720.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Now I want a bonsai tree. If you got a
- 21:42Speaker 1: bonsai tree, let me know.
- 21:44Speaker 3: Top stories on the 10s with Billy the Kid in
- 21:46Speaker 3: the morning.
- 21:47Speaker 7: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 21:49Speaker 1: We got Dirty Little Secret coming up at 7.30.
- 21:52Speaker 9: We got Free Gas at 8.30. We have a lot
- 21:55Speaker 9: going on. Candace Lopez, what's up?
- 21:56Speaker 6: Yeah, it's going to be warm today. We're going to
- 21:57Speaker 6: get up to around 98, basically the same throughout the weekend.
- 22:01Speaker 4: But then we do start to.
- 22:02Speaker 6: Cool off just a little bit Sunday night going into Monday.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Okay.
- 22:06Speaker 4: But enjoy this hot weekend.
- 22:07Speaker 6: I feel like this is going to be, this is
- 22:09Speaker 6: the last weekend officially of summer for So I feel
- 22:11Speaker 6: like we're going to get through this extreme heat and
- 22:13Speaker 6: then start to taper down.
- 22:14Speaker 1: So you're saying cool down by Monday. What do you mean?
- 22:17Speaker 7: Well, 95.
- 22:17Speaker 6: Candace.
- 22:20Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 22:20Speaker 4: I know, but listen, by the end of next week,
- 22:23Speaker 4: maybe we're in the 80s. We're in the upper 80s.
- 22:25Speaker 4: Fingers crossed, guys.
- 22:26Speaker 1: I'll take it.
- 22:27Speaker 4: Big game this weekend for the Cowboys.
- 22:29Speaker 6: The home opener is Sunday afternoon at 325. The Washington
- 22:33Speaker 6: Commanders will be in town. Both teams coming off of
- 22:36Speaker 6: losses in their opening games. Washington lost to Philadelphia.
- 22:39Speaker 4: Of course, the Cowboys lost.
- 22:42Speaker 6: To the Giants.
- 22:43Speaker 4: Who do we lose to?
- 22:43Speaker 1: The Giants. Is it still our year?
- 22:45Speaker 4: Yes, of course it is. It could be.
- 22:48Speaker 6: I saw Troy Aikman saying the Cowboys' defensive performance last
- 22:52Speaker 6: week was.
- 22:52Speaker 4: A bit alarming.
- 22:53Speaker 1: A little bit.
- 22:54Speaker 4: I agree, Troy.
- 22:56Speaker 1: It was like, I think they're still scoring touchdowns on
- 22:58Speaker 1: us right now.
- 22:59Speaker 4: We're just getting penalties.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Oh, my God. It was so bad. It was one
- 23:02Speaker 1: of the worst defensive performances in NFL history.
- 23:06Speaker 6: Yeah, we just need to pretend that didn't happen. You know,
- 23:09Speaker 6: by the time Sunday gets here, that never happened.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Let's just start over.
- 23:11Speaker 4: We're doing our thing.
- 23:12Speaker 1: You know what? Hold on. I didn't even know I
- 23:14Speaker 1: could cleanse it. Oh, do it. Here, hold on.
- 23:16Speaker 4: You got sage or what?
- 23:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I just saged it. We're good. It's our year again.
- 23:20Speaker 2: All right, go ahead.
- 23:21Speaker 6: By the way, AT & T Stadium did unveil their
- 23:24Speaker 6: new food offerings starting this Sunday.
- 23:26Speaker 4: So there's a lot of nacho options.
- 23:28Speaker 6: At the stadium.
- 23:29Speaker 4: Barbecue, Doritos, loaded nachos. That's a thing.
- 23:32Speaker 6: Tostitos, peri-peri chicken nachos is a thing.
- 23:35Speaker 1: That's what we're talking about, the food.
- 23:38Speaker 4: Well, it might be the most exciting part of the game.
- 23:40Speaker 1: It's our year for food.
- 23:42Speaker 4: Uh yeah big big barbecue items at.
- 23:45Speaker 6: The stadium of course i guess they had some of
- 23:47Speaker 6: these food items during the world cup but a lot
- 23:49Speaker 6: of the faves from last year still around like the
- 23:51Speaker 6: tyson star nuggets and.
- 23:53Speaker 4: The rowdy dog so go cowboys.
- 23:55Speaker 9: Okay go cowboy i mean all seriousness we don't need
- 23:58Speaker 9: to panic just yet no it was one bad game
- 24:01Speaker 9: and maybe it was just a fluke and we just
- 24:03Speaker 9: shake it off and we keep it going if that's
- 24:05Speaker 9: If this performance happens again this week, I'm going to
- 24:09Speaker 9: be super alarmed.
- 24:10Speaker 4: Maybe they lost on purpose. That way they can.
- 24:12Speaker 1: Be like, psych!
- 24:13Speaker 6: And then we just win the rest of the season.
- 24:16Speaker 1: It's all the mental reverse psychology.
- 24:18Speaker 6: Exactly.
- 24:19Speaker 4: Guys, Toys R Us is trending this morning.
- 24:22Speaker 6: They're about to have the biggest expansion in years, opening
- 24:25Speaker 6: 120 stores.
- 24:27Speaker 4: These will open in time for the holidays.
- 24:30Speaker 6: Of course, they went bankrupt in 2017, but apparently toy
- 24:33Speaker 6: sales are up 17%.
- 24:35Speaker 4: This year so far.
- 24:37Speaker 6: The biggest performance toys have had in six years.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Really?
- 24:41Speaker 6: Yeah, they're saying this demand isn't even driven by kids.
- 24:44Speaker 6: It's driven by adults who are into trading cards and collectibles.
- 24:47Speaker 1: Okay.
- 24:48Speaker 6: Adults now account for 55%.
- 24:50Speaker 4: Of all toy sales.
- 24:52Speaker 2: What?
- 24:53Speaker 1: Yeah. For real? I mean, do cards count as toys?
- 24:56Speaker 4: Technically, yeah. I think that's kind of what's driving this.
- 24:59Speaker 4: But everyone's looking for nostalgia, you know?
- 25:01Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true. I mean, I loved going to Toys
- 25:03Speaker 1: R Us as a kid.
- 25:03Speaker 7: Oh, yeah.
- 25:04Speaker 1: And, of course, everyone did. But my son remembers it, too.
- 25:06Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 25:07Speaker 9: He's 15, but that was a big deal when we'd go.
- 25:10Speaker 9: So when they shut down, he was devastated.
- 25:13Speaker 6: It's not the same going on Amazon and making your
- 25:15Speaker 6: list for Santa. You want to go see the toys
- 25:18Speaker 6: and vibe in the store and just feel magical.
- 25:21Speaker 1: I remember I would get the thing, the Toys R
- 25:22Speaker 1: Us pamphlet in the mail.
- 25:24Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 25:24Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 25:25Speaker 9: And I would start circling things I wanted. And then
- 25:27Speaker 9: I'd go to the store and I'd confirm that they
- 25:29Speaker 9: were cool.
- 25:30Speaker 7: Right.
- 25:30Speaker 1: Test them out first. Yeah. Yeah, exactly.
- 25:33Speaker 9: And then I'd be like, okay, this is what I
- 25:34Speaker 9: want for Santa. I'd put my whole list together for Santa.
- 25:37Speaker 9: It was a big deal to walk into Toys R Us.
- 25:40Speaker 6: Yes, absolutely. Guys, we got more details on Lady Gaga's baby.
- 25:45Speaker 6: A new report says the baby seen in the sling
- 25:47Speaker 6: that we've been talking about is a baby girl. Her
- 25:50Speaker 6: name is Rose Bean Polanski. She was born June 9th
- 25:54Speaker 6: via surrogate.
- 25:56Speaker 11: Bean?
- 25:56Speaker 6: Well, fans are saying that the bean comes from, it
- 26:00Speaker 6: could be a tribute to Carl Bean who inspired her
- 26:02Speaker 6: song Born This Way.
- 26:03Speaker 1: Okay.
- 26:04Speaker 4: And then Rose.
- 26:05Speaker 6: Could come from one of the songs she covered in
- 26:07Speaker 6: A Star Is Born.
- 26:09Speaker 1: No, I like it. I just didn't know.
- 26:11Speaker 6: It's cute. Rosie Bean.
- 26:12Speaker 4: I love that.
- 26:13Speaker 9: No, it's cute. I mean, you got to think about
- 26:15Speaker 9: kids when they grow up and when they're in school.
- 26:18Speaker 1: Yeah. She's Lady Gaga's kid. You do love beans, though.
- 26:21Speaker 4: I do love beans.
- 26:22Speaker 6: Real quick before I go, the iHeartRadio Music Festival... Kicks
- 26:25Speaker 6: off tonight in Las Vegas.
- 26:27Speaker 4: Showtime is 8.30.
- 26:29Speaker 6: Snoop Dogg will be there, BTS, Goo Goo Dolls, Smashing Pumpkins, Weezer,
- 26:33Speaker 6: and more.
- 26:33Speaker 4: It's going to be a good show tonight.
- 26:34Speaker 9: Nice.
- 26:35Speaker 6: You can watch it tonight and tomorrow night live on
- 26:37Speaker 6: Hulu or Disney +, brought to you by Fliff. So
- 26:40Speaker 6: download the Fliff app today. I'm Candace Lopez. Those are
- 26:43Speaker 6: your Texas Top Stories.
- 26:45Speaker 1: It is Mix 102.9. We're getting ready for Dirty Little Secret.
- 26:48Speaker 1: It's Bailey the Kid, Candice Lopez, Producer Pooh. We got
- 26:51Speaker 1: the banger on the way, but we got a big
- 26:53Speaker 1: announcement that I'm so, so excited about. As you know, Candice,
- 26:56Speaker 1: we're doing the Corny Dog Walk again this year.
- 26:58Speaker 2: Yep.
- 26:59Speaker 9: If you missed that last year, I kind of did
- 27:01Speaker 9: it as a joke. I was like, hey, I'm going
- 27:02Speaker 9: to walk to the State Fair of Texas.
- 27:04Speaker 7: Right.
- 27:05Speaker 1: Everybody was like, no, you're not.
- 27:07Speaker 6: 13 miles.
- 27:08Speaker 7: 13.
- 27:08Speaker 1: I think it's more than that, by the way.
- 27:10Speaker 4: I think it actually is.
- 27:11Speaker 9: It's like 14. And I trust me, that last mile hurts.
- 27:16Speaker 9: And we did it. And I did it. But I
- 27:18Speaker 9: did it for a reason. I did it because the
- 27:19Speaker 9: entire way down there, as I was walking, you come
- 27:22Speaker 9: find me and you get free tickets.
- 27:23Speaker 3: Right.
- 27:24Speaker 1: We're doing it again this year.
- 27:25Speaker 9: But this is what I'm so excited about, because I
- 27:27Speaker 9: just love the State Fair of Texas for so many reasons.
- 27:30Speaker 1: First of all, it's just it's a staple of living
- 27:33Speaker 1: in Texas.
- 27:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:34Speaker 9: It's really a big deal, and it's more than just
- 27:36Speaker 9: a fair. It's more than the corny dogs. I mean,
- 27:39Speaker 9: I have some of the best memories of my life
- 27:41Speaker 9: with my son at the fair, and I just see families,
- 27:44Speaker 9: and you don't realize you're making these memories that are
- 27:47Speaker 9: going to be core memories forever.
- 27:48Speaker 1: It's a tradition.
- 27:49Speaker 6: Yeah, getting out of school, fair day was the best.
- 27:52Speaker 1: Yes, you ain't lying.
- 27:53Speaker 9: It's a big deal, but also, too, is what I've
- 27:55Speaker 9: really come to learn, as we have great people at
- 27:58Speaker 9: the State Fair of Texas, is they are one of
- 28:00Speaker 9: the biggest nonprofit organizations in In Texas.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:04Speaker 9: They do so much for the community. And I got
- 28:07Speaker 9: to be honest, I really learned that this past couple years.
- 28:11Speaker 1: Same.
- 28:11Speaker 9: When I realized that they do stuff with the local
- 28:14Speaker 9: vendors and food vendors and obviously, but then they give
- 28:16Speaker 9: some of the food that's left over, a lot of
- 28:19Speaker 9: the food to local pantries. They do so many things
- 28:22Speaker 9: for education here in North Texas. They give back in
- 28:25Speaker 9: so many ways.
- 28:26Speaker 6: Right.
- 28:27Speaker 1: And it's pretty amazing when you really dive into it.
- 28:30Speaker 1: So I thought, you know what?
- 28:31Speaker 9: We could do something cool to give back and help
- 28:33Speaker 9: out because they give us so many tickets and that'd
- 28:35Speaker 9: be fun.
- 28:36Speaker 1: So we have our first ever Corny Dog T-shirt.
- 28:42Speaker 6: Yeah!
- 28:43Speaker 1: That we are giving away and we are going to
- 28:45Speaker 1: have up for sale. And here's the deal, though. We're
- 28:48Speaker 1: going to give some away, sure.
- 28:49Speaker 9: But we really want you to buy these because we
- 28:51Speaker 9: teamed up with Lone Star Print House. Thank you so much.
- 28:54Speaker 9: They're in fake. Thank you to Art and Nancy who
- 28:57Speaker 9: have been incredible. with designing this shirt and now selling it.
- 29:02Speaker 9: And it's going to be so much fun because the T-shirt,
- 29:05Speaker 9: they cover the cost, whatever.
- 29:07Speaker 1: We'll get that taken care of. Then the rest of
- 29:08Speaker 1: the money is going to go to the charity.
- 29:10Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 29:11Speaker 9: It's going to go back to the State Fair of
- 29:12Speaker 9: Texas and to help out people here in North Texas.
- 29:15Speaker 1: Yeah. And that's what gets me so excited.
- 29:17Speaker 9: So I'm going to put a picture of the T-shirt
- 29:19Speaker 9: up and we'll have that up and we'll have the
- 29:21Speaker 9: links to buy it and all that good stuff.
- 29:22Speaker 1: We're not making any money off this.
- 29:24Speaker 7: No.
- 29:25Speaker 1: And that's not what I'm trying to do is Yeah,
- 29:27Speaker 1: I'm going to give some away on the walk, which
- 29:28Speaker 1: I'm excited about. I'm going to give away the tickets
- 29:30Speaker 1: on the walk on the opening day of the fair.
- 29:32Speaker 4: Next Friday, a week from today.
- 29:34Speaker 1: Which I can't believe, which is going to be awesome.
- 29:36Speaker 9: Who's going to try to make it more than eight
- 29:37Speaker 9: miles this year?
- 29:39Speaker 1: 8.7. Staying correct. Oh, you're going to make it 8.7? No,
- 29:43Speaker 1: that's what I did last year. I'm going to go
- 29:44Speaker 1: all the way this year.
- 29:45Speaker 7: I promise.
- 29:46Speaker 1: Okay. Well, either way, I think it's going to be fun.
- 29:48Speaker 9: But more importantly, we're going to be doing stuff to
- 29:50Speaker 9: give back to everything from Big Tex Urban Farms.
- 29:54Speaker 1: Which is a big deal.
- 29:55Speaker 9: That provides fresh fruit and vegetables to some places in
- 29:59Speaker 9: South Dallas that.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Has food insecurity.
- 30:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:03Speaker 1: Which is incredible.
- 30:04Speaker 9: There's, you know, they have the Big Tex Youth Livestock Auction.
- 30:06Speaker 4: The Masterclass.
- 30:08Speaker 6: The Masterclass.
- 30:08Speaker 1: Big Tex Masterclass.
- 30:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 30:10Speaker 1: They do so much.
- 30:11Speaker 6: Small businesses benefit so much and entrepreneurs in the food
- 30:14Speaker 6: and beverage industry.
- 30:15Speaker 2: It's awesome.
- 30:16Speaker 1: And it's a Texas thing. Yeah.
- 30:17Speaker 9: And there's nothing more that I want to support than
- 30:20Speaker 9: a Texas, you know, charity that does multiple things for
- 30:23Speaker 9: organizations here in North Texas.
- 30:25Speaker 1: So why don't we do this? I love it.
- 30:27Speaker 9: By the way, the design is hysterical. It's a picture
- 30:30Speaker 9: that Candace took of me last year when I was
- 30:32Speaker 9: about to pass out.
- 30:33Speaker 6: Yeah, you look happier on the T-shirt than you did
- 30:35Speaker 6: in the actual photo.
- 30:37Speaker 1: And it's a picture of me in a corny dog
- 30:39Speaker 1: costume because I wear that as I walk to the fair.
- 30:42Speaker 11: Right.
- 30:42Speaker 1: Leaning on a dumpster. About to just drop out. We'll
- 30:47Speaker 1: put the link up. Can we sell? Let's say we
- 30:51Speaker 1: sell 200 shirts.
- 30:52Speaker 4: Let's do it. That's a goal.
- 30:53Speaker 6: We can do it, guys.
- 30:54Speaker 9: If we sold 200 shirts, that would mean that we
- 30:57Speaker 9: would get to give a couple thousand dollars to To
- 31:01Speaker 9: the fair. That means you would give a couple thousand
- 31:04Speaker 9: dollars to the fair.
- 31:04Speaker 1: Not us. You. So let's put the link up. We'll
- 31:08Speaker 1: do it on our Instagram here in a second.
- 31:10Speaker 2: Cool.
- 31:10Speaker 1: At Mix 1029 FM. But isn't that exciting? Yes.
- 31:13Speaker 2: I love it.
- 31:14Speaker 9: If you could buy a t-shirt, that would be incredible.
- 31:16Speaker 9: It would help out. It would be awesome. I'm so
- 31:18Speaker 9: excited about it. I'm excited to walk this year again, too.
- 31:20Speaker 7: Good. Me, too.
- 31:21Speaker 1: I really am.
- 31:22Speaker 3: Get it off your chest.
- 31:24Speaker 5: It's Dirty Little Secret with Billy the Kid in the
- 31:26Speaker 5: Morning on Mix 102.9.
- 31:28Speaker 7: Brought to you by Mint Dentistry.
- 31:30Speaker 1: And we got free gas. Don't forget about that. Coming
- 31:32Speaker 1: up 830.
- 31:32Speaker 9: The jackpot right now is 200 bucks. So get some
- 31:35Speaker 9: free gas. You'll have to say Mix 102.9. Great Gremlin
- 31:38Speaker 9: gas gift card giveaway. Just giving you a heads up.
- 31:41Speaker 1: All right. Dirty little secret. It's Bailey the Kid, Candice Lopez,
- 31:44Speaker 1: producer Pooh.
- 31:45Speaker 9: If you got a secret, you call us anytime you
- 31:48Speaker 9: want and confess and you got one.
- 31:49Speaker 1: What is going on? Yeah, I'm keeping a secret from
- 31:52Speaker 1: my dad.
- 31:54Speaker 8: Well, because honestly, I just don't know how to tell
- 31:58Speaker 8: him the truth without just crushing him, you know?
- 32:01Speaker 1: What's going on with your dad? All right.
- 32:04Speaker 8: Well, my parents, okay, so they got divorced when I
- 32:06Speaker 8: was younger. And my dad has pretty much been single
- 32:11Speaker 8: ever since, you know, and he's getting older now. I
- 32:15Speaker 8: hate saying this about my dad, but, you know, I
- 32:18Speaker 8: just think he's.
- 32:18Speaker 2: Lonely, man.
- 32:20Speaker 8: And so, yeah, I mean, you know, he told me
- 32:24Speaker 8: recently that he'd been talking to a woman and man,
- 32:27Speaker 8: I was so excited for him.
- 32:29Speaker 1: You know, I'm like, good. Yes, dad. It's about time.
- 32:32Speaker 8: You know, he met her on Facebook and they've been
- 32:35Speaker 8: messaging for a while. Apparently they're talking about meeting in
- 32:39Speaker 8: person soon. I haven't seen my dad is excited about
- 32:43Speaker 8: somebody in just years.
- 32:45Speaker 1: This is awesome. Yeah, but here's the problem.
- 32:50Speaker 7: I am.
- 32:51Speaker 8: I'm almost 100% positive that she is AI.
- 32:57Speaker 1: I mean, like, totally fake. Oh, no. You think the girl.
- 33:01Speaker 6: How?
- 33:03Speaker 4: Why do you think that?
- 33:04Speaker 1: Oh, man.
- 33:05Speaker 8: Well, I was over at his house one night, and
- 33:08Speaker 8: he just started showing me pictures of her, you know? And, okay,
- 33:11Speaker 8: so she's younger than him, really attractive, you know, and those.
- 33:16Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 33:17Speaker 8: But immediately something felt off, man. I mean, every picture
- 33:21Speaker 8: just looked a little too perfect.
- 33:24Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 33:25Speaker 8: Like there were no normal pictures with friends, you know,
- 33:28Speaker 8: no family photos, no random ugly pictures that somebody tagged
- 33:32Speaker 8: her in, you know, like just weirdly perfect pictures that honestly, man,
- 33:39Speaker 8: they just look AI generated.
- 33:41Speaker 9: I know what you mean, because you can definitely, especially
- 33:44Speaker 9: as AI, I mean, AI is getting better, but you.
- 33:46Speaker 1: Can definitely tell.
- 33:47Speaker 9: The ai effect you can tell and it doesn't matter
- 33:50Speaker 9: how human it looks there's something there's something empty about the.
- 33:54Speaker 6: Pictures yeah you know what you can see there's no
- 33:56Speaker 6: soul right it's like.
- 33:57Speaker 9: Almost like the ai generated music it's not that it's
- 34:01Speaker 9: bad you could tell that it has no character right
- 34:04Speaker 9: you know so you you think that he oh oh
- 34:07Speaker 9: see this worries me though he's getting scammed or something
- 34:10Speaker 9: but i mean so did you tell him or what happened.
- 34:12Speaker 8: I mean, honestly, like I started asking him questions about her, man.
- 34:16Speaker 1: I'm like, have you FaceTime her, man? He said, no.
- 34:19Speaker 8: Have you, have you even talked to her on the phone?
- 34:21Speaker 8: And he said, no, you know, like she always has
- 34:24Speaker 8: some excuse, like why they can't communicate, you know?
- 34:26Speaker 1: And I'm like, dad, man, there's a lot of scams
- 34:29Speaker 1: out there, right?
- 34:30Speaker 8: There's a lot of scams out there, you know? And
- 34:33Speaker 8: he got defensive almost immediately. And he was like, She
- 34:38Speaker 8: never asked me for money, man. I just I hope
- 34:42Speaker 8: I hope that's true.
- 34:43Speaker 9: I mean, I hope, you know, I mean, what's stopping
- 34:46Speaker 9: you from telling him like, hey, dad, I think this
- 34:48Speaker 9: is fake.
- 34:49Speaker 1: Like, you know what I mean?
- 34:50Speaker 9: Like, you don't want to tell him you're just kind of, hey,
- 34:52Speaker 9: be weary, but you don't want to come out and
- 34:54Speaker 9: say it.
- 34:54Speaker 8: Like, I think my dad generally loves talking to her, man.
- 34:58Speaker 8: It's like it's brought out this side of him that
- 35:00Speaker 8: I haven't seen in years, man.
- 35:02Speaker 1: He's happy. You know, he's got something to look forward
- 35:04Speaker 1: to every day.
- 35:06Speaker 8: And I feel like I'm going to be the person
- 35:08Speaker 8: that just takes that away from him.
- 35:10Speaker 4: You know, it's just.
- 35:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:12Speaker 4: That's tough.
- 35:13Speaker 9: This is a tough one because I mean, I think
- 35:15Speaker 9: you have to be careful and I think you have
- 35:18Speaker 9: to tell them and, or maybe do your own research,
- 35:20Speaker 9: a little more research on this person and figure it out,
- 35:23Speaker 9: but you can't let your dad, because my mom will
- 35:26Speaker 9: fall for certain videos that are AI and she'll be like, Oh,
- 35:29Speaker 9: look at this lion.
- 35:31Speaker 1: He didn't attack this kitten. This is animals are awesome.
- 35:34Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 35:35Speaker 1: And I'm like, Mom, that is not, that's AI.
- 35:37Speaker 2: AI!
- 35:38Speaker 1: And I'm like, yeah, that's not real. I mean, I
- 35:41Speaker 1: would say something. I don't know about you, Cass.
- 35:43Speaker 6: Yeah, I would have to say something because the longer
- 35:45Speaker 6: he gets involved, the deeper his feelings are, the harder
- 35:48Speaker 6: it's going to be on him when he gets let down.
- 35:50Speaker 6: If it is AI.
- 35:52Speaker 1: They're not talking on the phone that's a red.
- 35:53Speaker 6: Flag excuses why we can't talk on the phone get
- 35:56Speaker 6: out of here.
- 35:56Speaker 9: We can't facetime right he's getting catfished i you.
- 36:00Speaker 4: Know i don't ever do this or how it works
- 36:02Speaker 4: this is.
- 36:02Speaker 9: Awful you're awful so wrong people get a thrill out
- 36:05Speaker 9: of it though i really genuinely think people get they
- 36:08Speaker 9: get a kick out of like i don't know if
- 36:09Speaker 9: it's the power if it's the fake life they love
- 36:12Speaker 9: catfishing people uh it's awful but um can you let
- 36:16Speaker 9: us know what happens but I wouldn't let your dad
- 36:18Speaker 9: go too far down this path.
- 36:20Speaker 6: Right.
- 36:21Speaker 1: Go find him somebody real. Yeah. Get him out in
- 36:24Speaker 1: the world. I'll let you know. Yeah. I don't think
- 36:27Speaker 1: this woman exists, man.
- 36:29Speaker 8: I'll probably have to confront him, sit him down, you know.
- 36:32Speaker 1: But, yeah, I'll let you know how it goes. Yeah,
- 36:34Speaker 1: good luck. And I'm sorry that's happening to him. But
- 36:36Speaker 1: keep us in the loop. And, yeah, I hope nothing
- 36:38Speaker 1: gets crazy.
- 36:39Speaker 4: That or he forgets his Facebook password.
- 36:41Speaker 1: Yeah. Ooh, reporter, make her go away.
- 36:44Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 36:45Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 36:46Speaker 9: Maybe you report her to Facebook and be like, hey,
- 36:47Speaker 9: I think she's fake. They'll find out, and if she is,
- 36:50Speaker 9: they'll punt her out. I mean, he's going to be
- 36:52Speaker 9: heartbroken for a minute.
- 36:53Speaker 4: And then he's just going to get ghosted, basically.
- 36:55Speaker 1: Yeah, and welcome to the club. We all do. Well,
- 36:58Speaker 1: good luck with everything and let us know, okay? All right, thanks.
- 37:01Speaker 1: All right.
- 37:05Speaker 5: It's time for Candice Court. It gets settled here with
- 37:09Speaker 5: Billy the Kid in the Morning.
- 37:10Speaker 4: All right.
- 37:12Speaker 9: Judge Candice Loftus is taking the bench in her brand
- 37:14Speaker 9: new corny dog shirt.
- 37:15Speaker 4: It's soft, too.
- 37:16Speaker 1: It is very soft. It's luxurious.
- 37:18Speaker 7: It's a nice shirt.
- 37:18Speaker 9: I know, and it's going to go to charity if
- 37:20Speaker 9: you buy one. And we just put the links up
- 37:21Speaker 9: just so you know. Our corny dog walk, we are
- 37:24Speaker 9: doing again next Friday. We kick it off. We'll be
- 37:26Speaker 9: walking to the State Fair of Texas. And the sales
- 37:28Speaker 9: of these shirts, I mean the profits, they're all going
- 37:30Speaker 9: to charity.
- 37:31Speaker 1: So do it. Make it happen. Buy one. The links
- 37:34Speaker 1: are up at Mix 1029 FM, at Mix 1029 FM
- 37:37Speaker 1: on Instagram. Are you ready for today's case, Candice? Yep.
- 37:40Speaker 1: And if you've got an issue with Candace or you
- 37:42Speaker 1: want to help her, you need to end up solving
- 37:44Speaker 1: it at Candace on Air. All right, guys, help me please.
- 37:46Speaker 9: Dear Candace Court, my husband got on to me the
- 37:49Speaker 9: other night when we had some friends over for dinner,
- 37:52Speaker 9: and it's been all weird all week.
- 37:54Speaker 1: I'll start by saying that we are a uh-oh. Shoes
- 37:58Speaker 1: off house.
- 37:59Speaker 4: Okay.
- 38:00Speaker 1: Here we go.
- 38:01Speaker 7: Same.
- 38:02Speaker 1: Did Candace write this? No. Candace wrote this. She'll yell
- 38:07Speaker 1: at anybody.
- 38:07Speaker 6: I'm not the only person that doesn't want shoes on
- 38:09Speaker 6: in their house.
- 38:10Speaker 1: No, I know. You know there's cities trying to pass
- 38:12Speaker 1: laws about it?
- 38:12Speaker 4: Really?
- 38:13Speaker 1: Yeah, it's crazy.
- 38:14Speaker 9: Either way, you're very adamant that shoes off when you
- 38:18Speaker 9: get in the house.
- 38:19Speaker 6: Yeah, my kid plays on the floor 24-7 with Hot Wheels.
- 38:21Speaker 9: Everyone knows this is how it is, and they're used
- 38:24Speaker 9: to taking their shoes off when they come over.
- 38:26Speaker 1: And if not, I let them know. And it's never
- 38:29Speaker 1: been an issue. So my husband has a friend. Oh,
- 38:33Speaker 1: my God.
- 38:34Speaker 9: My husband has a friend in a wheelchair. And here's
- 38:38Speaker 9: where my husband says I went wrong. When his friend
- 38:41Speaker 9: rolled through the door, I... This is going to get
- 38:45Speaker 9: me so angry in a minute. When my friend, when
- 38:49Speaker 9: his friend rolled through the door, I asked him if
- 38:51Speaker 9: it'd be a problem if I wiped his wheels down.
- 38:58Speaker 7: No.
- 39:00Speaker 1: His friend joked about it and said, absolutely.
- 39:03Speaker 9: I get it. I'm a germaphobe, too. And that was that.
- 39:05Speaker 1: Well, my husband called me into the bedroom and said,
- 39:08Speaker 1: are we really doing this? And went off on me.
- 39:12Speaker 1: I asked him what the big deal was, and I
- 39:13Speaker 1: just wiped them down.
- 39:15Speaker 6: Oh, my.
- 39:16Speaker 8: Okay.
- 39:18Speaker 9: Like someone would wipe their feet on a doormat or
- 39:21Speaker 9: maybe take off their shoes. Either way, I feel like
- 39:24Speaker 9: maybe I was really wrong, but I just don't know.
- 39:26Speaker 1: Okay. All right.
- 39:27Speaker 3: Girl.
- 39:28Speaker 1: Come on I don't know. Candace, you could tell me
- 39:33Speaker 1: your thoughts on this. This is Candace Court. Yeah.
- 39:35Speaker 4: I mean, I'm all about shoes off.
- 39:37Speaker 6: I don't take it so far as to tell like,
- 39:39Speaker 6: you know, older people or like, you know, whoever.
- 39:42Speaker 4: I don't tell everybody.
- 39:43Speaker 6: It's a case by case.
- 39:45Speaker 4: But people know I just like the shoes off. Enzo's
- 39:48Speaker 4: on the floor. It is what it is.
- 39:49Speaker 6: But there's no way I'm going to ask this man
- 39:52Speaker 6: if I can wipe down his wheelchair.
- 39:55Speaker 1: No.
- 39:55Speaker 4: Before he comes in.
- 39:57Speaker 9: Not doing it. Not doing it whatsoever, ever, no matter
- 40:01Speaker 9: what the case is.
- 40:02Speaker 1: Right. I don't want to make anybody feel like it
- 40:07Speaker 1: may be awkward.
- 40:08Speaker 6: Yeah, like they're inconveniencing me or anything like that ever.
- 40:11Speaker 9: First of all, if you happen to be in a wheelchair,
- 40:14Speaker 9: then you know what? You do whatever you want to do.
- 40:17Speaker 9: What makes you feel comfortable? Half the time, things aren't
- 40:20Speaker 9: even usually accessible and they have to. deal with things
- 40:23Speaker 9: they should never have.
- 40:24Speaker 1: To deal with.
- 40:24Speaker 7: Right.
- 40:24Speaker 6: Life's so much more challenging in the first place.
- 40:27Speaker 7: Yes.
- 40:28Speaker 1: It's more challenging and it shouldn't be.
- 40:30Speaker 7: Right.
- 40:30Speaker 6: We should be making the accommodations that we.
- 40:32Speaker 4: Need to be making.
- 40:33Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 40:34Speaker 9: So would I ever try to make you feel different
- 40:38Speaker 9: by wiping the wheels down on your wheelchair?
- 40:41Speaker 2: No.
- 40:41Speaker 1: No, absolutely not. I don't care how dirty they are.
- 40:44Speaker 1: I don't care if he joked about it.
- 40:45Speaker 6: This might be one of the quickest case closed cases
- 40:48Speaker 6: I feel like we've had.
- 40:49Speaker 4: In a long time.
- 40:50Speaker 1: This is something Pooh would do. This is something Pooh
- 40:54Speaker 1: would do. You mind if I wipe your wheels down
- 40:56Speaker 1: real quick?
- 40:57Speaker 6: Like I get it if he joked, you know, but
- 40:59Speaker 6: he's just trying to not.
- 41:00Speaker 4: Make you feel bad because he's.
- 41:02Speaker 6: In your home.
- 41:03Speaker 1: He's joking about I get why the husband was irritated. Yeah,
- 41:06Speaker 1: it's my work friend.
- 41:07Speaker 9: I invite them over. I want them to feel comfortable
- 41:10Speaker 9: at our house. I don't want them to feel any
- 41:12Speaker 9: kind of certain way as they walk in or as
- 41:14Speaker 9: they come in. Whatever the case may be, I don't
- 41:17Speaker 9: want to make you feel any kind of way.
- 41:19Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm getting just a bad vibe from this message.
- 41:22Speaker 6: You know, to put yourself first like that. Oh, I
- 41:25Speaker 6: feel so bad for this man.
- 41:27Speaker 1: I do. I'm blaming everything on my wife. I'm going
- 41:29Speaker 1: to be like, my wife tripping.
- 41:31Speaker 9: You would do it oh he obviously would not do
- 41:33Speaker 9: it he's not the one who did it though she
- 41:36Speaker 9: did it.
- 41:37Speaker 1: I know she did it but i'm saying would you
- 41:39Speaker 1: do it no i'm just saying if my wife was
- 41:42Speaker 1: griping at me you would do it you would ask
- 41:46Speaker 1: happy wife happy life dog.
- 41:47Speaker 9: No i'll be like you are you call me a simp.
- 41:53Speaker 6: In this case, happy life, happy wife. Yeah.
- 41:56Speaker 1: How about just be happy and let everybody in. It's
- 41:59Speaker 1: who they are.
- 41:59Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 42:00Speaker 1: Put germs aside for one minute.
- 42:02Speaker 3: Right.
- 42:02Speaker 6: Your poor husband, he's probably so embarrassed and mortified to
- 42:06Speaker 6: go back to work.
- 42:07Speaker 9: And by the way, when somebody feels sometimes awkward or
- 42:10Speaker 9: in a situation, laughter and joking about it is their
- 42:14Speaker 9: way to cope with it.
- 42:15Speaker 6: Totally.
- 42:15Speaker 9: So just because that person who happens to be in
- 42:18Speaker 9: a wheelchair, it's not their entire identity.
- 42:20Speaker 6: Right.
- 42:21Speaker 9: If they joked about it or laughed about it, it
- 42:23Speaker 9: doesn't necessarily mean they're okay with it.
- 42:25Speaker 6: Exactly.
- 42:26Speaker 1: That's all I'm saying. Candace, it's your call. What's the verdict?
- 42:28Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, clearly, lady, you're guilty of being a
- 42:30Speaker 4: Purell Pam.
- 42:32Speaker 7: Oh, yes.
- 42:33Speaker 6: It's not okay to sanitize his wheels. Get the house
- 42:35Speaker 6: cleaned if you need to the next day. Clean the floor,
- 42:39Speaker 6: vacuum if you're that serious about it. I'm not that
- 42:41Speaker 6: serious about it. I would never make someone feel that
- 42:44Speaker 6: awkward in my home.
- 42:45Speaker 1: I agree with you, Candace.
- 42:46Speaker 6: Your husband's right.
- 42:47Speaker 1: She is guilty of being a?
- 42:48Speaker 4: A Purell Pam.
- 42:49Speaker 1: A wipe-me-down Wendy.
- 42:51Speaker 7: Oh. The new Mix.
- 42:54Speaker 3: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 42:56Speaker 3: Kid in the morning.
- 42:58Speaker 7: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 43:00Speaker 1: Hi, Candace Lopez. What's going on?
- 43:02Speaker 6: Well, someone from Southlake is $ 1 million richer.
- 43:06Speaker 1: Are you serious?
- 43:07Speaker 4: I kind of rage baited.
- 43:08Speaker 6: You because I knew you were going to be upset.
- 43:11Speaker 1: Someone from Highland Park is now a million dollars richer. Oh, great. Awesome.
- 43:16Speaker 9: Good.
- 43:16Speaker 1: You're already rich.
- 43:18Speaker 2: I know.
- 43:18Speaker 6: So they claimed the prize from a Texas lottery scratch
- 43:22Speaker 6: off ticket. This was the first of four top prizes from,
- 43:25Speaker 6: I guess, the lucky seven tripler game. But there's more
- 43:28Speaker 6: million dollar prizes for that game out and about. So
- 43:31Speaker 6: just a heads up.
- 43:32Speaker 9: Oh, in South Lake, there's a 90 year old man
- 43:34Speaker 9: who just won any minute now. But he's got five
- 43:39Speaker 9: million dollars.
- 43:40Speaker 1: It's always who wins. It's always someone.
- 43:42Speaker 9: They put him on the news and it's like they
- 43:43Speaker 9: got an oxygen tank on and they're barely clinging to life.
- 43:46Speaker 1: And they just won $ 17 million.
- 43:49Speaker 6: Whoever you are, congratulations. Buy one of our T-shirts.
- 43:52Speaker 4: You can afford it.
- 43:53Speaker 1: That's the least you can do.
- 43:54Speaker 7: Exactly.
- 43:55Speaker 6: Let's go over some high school football games happening in
- 43:57Speaker 6: the Metroplex tonight.
- 43:59Speaker 4: I didn't realize last night Allen beat Prosper.
- 44:01Speaker 1: Pretty bad, too.
- 44:02Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 44:03Speaker 4: Who are you taking in this matchup? Number two, North
- 44:05Speaker 4: Crowley Panthers at number three. Duncanville Panthers.
- 44:09Speaker 1: North Crowley.
- 44:10Speaker 6: You can't pick this one based on the mascot because.
- 44:12Speaker 1: They're the same. Listen, I saw North Crowley play a
- 44:14Speaker 1: few weeks ago.
- 44:15Speaker 7: Right.
- 44:16Speaker 1: I'm going North Crowley. Who's going to go Duncanville? I
- 44:18Speaker 1: already know. That's my alma mater. Yeah, your alma mater.
- 44:21Speaker 1: It let me down last week, I think.
- 44:23Speaker 4: I'm going with Duncanville also. I went to Duncanville schools
- 44:26Speaker 4: in elementary school.
- 44:27Speaker 6: So, yeah, let's go Panthers.
- 44:28Speaker 1: I got to stick with the Panthers. Okay. Well, then
- 44:30Speaker 1: what Panther? Because North Crowley.
- 44:32Speaker 4: The Duncanville Panthers.
- 44:32Speaker 1: Duncanville Panthers. The original Black Panthers right here in the
- 44:35Speaker 1: studio with y'all.
- 44:36Speaker 6: That's right.
- 44:36Speaker 1: You were the backup mascot. Okay. But I was still
- 44:39Speaker 1: a Black Panther. I'm going North Crowley by 90.
- 44:41Speaker 7: 90.
- 44:41Speaker 1: Oh, God.
- 44:42Speaker 4: Good luck, Duncanville.
- 44:45Speaker 7: All right. Good luck.
- 44:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 44:47Speaker 4: Pick a winner out of this one. Mansfield Lake Ridge
- 44:49Speaker 4: Eagles at number four.
- 44:50Speaker 6: Waxahachie Indians.
- 44:52Speaker 7: Ooh.
- 44:54Speaker 1: I'm going to say Waxahachie.
- 44:55Speaker 8: Same.
- 44:56Speaker 1: Okay.
- 44:57Speaker 4: We're all taking Waxahachie?
- 44:58Speaker 7: Okay. All right.
- 44:59Speaker 6: Going to be a good night for football. Good luck
- 45:01Speaker 6: to everyone playing. By the way, how was Ryder's game
- 45:04Speaker 6: last night?
- 45:05Speaker 7: Good.
- 45:05Speaker 1: They won.
- 45:05Speaker 7: Good.
- 45:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:06Speaker 2: Congrats.
- 45:07Speaker 1: Shout out to the Bearcats, Aledo Bearcats.
- 45:09Speaker 7: Nice.
- 45:10Speaker 6: Guys, Wendy's has announced they are bringing back their most
- 45:13Speaker 6: requested thing, yellow packaging.
- 45:16Speaker 7: Good.
- 45:17Speaker 4: I can't believe this is the thing people want most
- 45:19Speaker 4: out of Wendy's.
- 45:19Speaker 1: Yeah, no, it does make sense because it tasted different
- 45:22Speaker 1: when the packaging was yellow.
- 45:23Speaker 6: That's what people say online. They're like, we miss the
- 45:26Speaker 6: old Wendy's. The yellow packaging must have had powers. Their
- 45:31Speaker 6: chief marketing officer says people have been begging them to
- 45:34Speaker 6: go back to their yellow era. So starting September 28th,
- 45:37Speaker 6: they're going to roll out yellow packaging nationwide.
- 45:40Speaker 4: It'll go, you know, it's not forever, but through the,
- 45:42Speaker 4: you know, new year.
- 45:43Speaker 1: We're also going to bring back those sunrooms. Remember we
- 45:45Speaker 1: were talking about the sunrooms. People remember those.
- 45:47Speaker 6: Oh, I remember it.
- 45:48Speaker 4: It was like a curved window.
- 45:50Speaker 2: Yes.
- 45:50Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 45:51Speaker 1: The burgers tasted better when there was a sunroom.
- 45:54Speaker 6: Okay.
- 45:54Speaker 4: Sunroom and a yellow frosty.
- 45:56Speaker 6: It's coming soon, guys.
- 45:57Speaker 4: I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories.
- 46:00Speaker 1: Are you ready for it?
- 46:02Speaker 6: I guess.
- 46:03Speaker 1: The Wheel of Misfortune.
- 46:05Speaker 5: It's Billy the Kid in the Morning's Wheel of Misfortune.
- 46:12Speaker 6: On Mix 102.9.
- 46:12Speaker 4: This is where we do.
- 46:14Speaker 1: A little trivia, and if you lose, you spin the wheel.
- 46:17Speaker 1: Here we go. Three, two, one. Wheel of Misfortune. Here
- 46:22Speaker 1: we go. Our favorite thing to do on a Friday. Yeah. Yay. Welcome,
- 46:26Speaker 1: Junior Trebek.
- 46:27Speaker 2: Good morning.
- 46:28Speaker 1: The host of Wheel of Misfortune.
- 46:31Speaker 2: Don't forget to have your pet spade or new deer.
- 46:32Speaker 1: Yes, that's right. By the way, thank you, Junior, for
- 46:35Speaker 1: dressing up for us today. Oh, thank you.
- 46:37Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 46:37Speaker 2: It's Friday. I thought I'd put a collar on.
- 46:39Speaker 1: Yeah, you put a collar on. You got no hat on.
- 46:41Speaker 1: Your beard's looking extra tidy.
- 46:43Speaker 2: Man, I finally got a haircut and a beard trim.
- 46:45Speaker 2: It feels so good.
- 46:46Speaker 6: Look at that.
- 46:47Speaker 2: Nice and fluffy.
- 46:48Speaker 1: So it's not for us. It's just in general.
- 46:50Speaker 6: I mean, you know.
- 46:51Speaker 1: Okay, cool. It's for sharing.
- 46:53Speaker 9: Make sure you follow Junior, too, at JuniorInTheMix on Instagram.
- 46:57Speaker 9: All right, here we go. We have five questions. You
- 47:00Speaker 9: can chime in with your name. These are pretty simple questions,
- 47:03Speaker 9: but we're also pretty simple people, so sometimes we don't
- 47:06Speaker 9: get them all. But you know what? Candice Lopez, she
- 47:08Speaker 9: lost last time. The odds are in her favor that
- 47:11Speaker 9: she won't lose again.
- 47:12Speaker 6: I'm nervous.
- 47:12Speaker 1: But you never know what's going to happen. These are,
- 47:14Speaker 1: I mean, pretty much fourth grade, fifth grade questions.
- 47:17Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 47:17Speaker 1: Maybe not even that. Yeah, it should be simple. So
- 47:20Speaker 1: when you're ready, Junior, let's do it.
- 47:23Speaker 2: All right, here we go. Going to start out with movies.
- 47:25Speaker 1: Oh, God.
- 47:27Speaker 2: All right.
- 47:28Speaker 10: In the 2004 movie Mean Girls, what color did the
- 47:32Speaker 10: plastics famously wear on Wednesday?
- 47:34Speaker 1: Candice.
- 47:34Speaker 2: That's correct.
- 47:35Speaker 1: Yes! Look at her.
- 47:37Speaker 4: On Wednesdays, we wear pink.
- 47:38Speaker 1: Yeah, we do.
- 47:39Speaker 7: That's right.
- 47:39Speaker 2: That's the life.
- 47:40Speaker 1: I would have never. You know, I'm awful with movies.
- 47:42Speaker 1: You go, Glean Coco.
- 47:44Speaker 6: Who's that?
- 47:45Speaker 7: Okay.
- 47:45Speaker 1: That's from the movie. Okay.
- 47:47Speaker 7: All right.
- 47:48Speaker 10: Fort Worth is known as a much more colorful nickname
- 47:51Speaker 10: because of the role it had in the major cattle
- 47:54Speaker 10: trading and shipping center.
- 47:57Speaker 6: You're asking for the nickname Candace.
- 47:58Speaker 5: Yes.
- 47:58Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. What is the nickname? That's correct.
- 48:00Speaker 1: Countdown. Oh, my God.
- 48:03Speaker 7: Oh.
- 48:03Speaker 1: Okay. Okay. Okay. All right, Candice. All right. Candice is
- 48:08Speaker 1: up too.
- 48:09Speaker 4: I had a lot of coffee today.
- 48:10Speaker 2: I can tell. I see.
- 48:11Speaker 1: All right.
- 48:11Speaker 10: All right, here we go. What popular type of bread
- 48:15Speaker 10: is made from a starter?
- 48:18Speaker 2: Man, that was really close. I think I heard Candace first.
- 48:21Speaker 4: What is sourdough bread?
- 48:22Speaker 1: That is correct.
- 48:23Speaker 2: Come on, dude.
- 48:25Speaker 1: Did y'all talk?
- 48:26Speaker 6: Wow.
- 48:27Speaker 7: Okay.
- 48:28Speaker 1: It's a random question generator. All right, Candace, you're out. Happily.
- 48:32Speaker 7: You're out.
- 48:33Speaker 4: I'll go for it.
- 48:34Speaker 1: You're safe.
- 48:35Speaker 7: Oh, Lord.
- 48:35Speaker 1: There's two questions left.
- 48:36Speaker 3: Happy Friday.
- 48:37Speaker 1: It's pretty much between Pooh and I to battle it out.
- 48:40Speaker 7: All right.
- 48:40Speaker 2: Here we go.
- 48:41Speaker 10: Question number four. Which current artist became the first woman
- 48:46Speaker 10: to simultaneously have a number one song on the Billboard
- 48:49Speaker 10: Hot 100, Hot Country Songs?
- 48:51Speaker 1: Billy.
- 48:52Speaker 2: That was Billy.
- 48:53Speaker 1: Ella Langley.
- 48:54Speaker 2: That's your girl there, correct. Okay.
- 48:57Speaker 1: All right. We have one question left.
- 49:00Speaker 2: And we're going science on this one.
- 49:02Speaker 1: All right.
- 49:03Speaker 10: If you weigh yourself on Earth and then weigh yourself
- 49:06Speaker 10: on the moon, what changes, your mass or your weight?
- 49:10Speaker 7: Billy. Billy.
- 49:11Speaker 1: Man, that was a close one.
- 49:12Speaker 4: I think it was poo.
- 49:13Speaker 1: It's your mass.
- 49:17Speaker 6: What?
- 49:17Speaker 2: Your mass does not change.
- 49:19Speaker 1: Your mass is changing.
- 49:20Speaker 10: You're still the same you're still the same size what's
- 49:23Speaker 10: the answer.
- 49:24Speaker 1: Billy I don't know if that's fair though cuz it's only.
- 49:26Speaker 2: I mean it is I mean it is fair he
- 49:28Speaker 2: got it wrong yeah.
- 49:34Speaker 1: I feel like we should do another question. I don't
- 49:36Speaker 1: want anyone, no excuses. I lost fair and square. Do
- 49:41Speaker 1: one more.
- 49:42Speaker 9: If you have an extra question, let's do it just
- 49:44Speaker 9: so people can, no matter what, it was fair.
- 49:47Speaker 10: What material made from the skin of an animal is
- 49:51Speaker 10: commonly used To make jackets, belts, and shoes. Billy.
- 49:55Speaker 2: That was definitely Billy.
- 49:56Speaker 8: Leather.
- 49:57Speaker 1: Correct.
- 49:58Speaker 2: Oh! There we go.
- 50:00Speaker 1: Okay.
- 50:09Speaker 3: Okay.
- 50:11Speaker 1: That was fair.
- 50:12Speaker 4: It was fair.
- 50:14Speaker 1: It was fair. That means that poo has to spin
- 50:17Speaker 1: the wheel of misfortune. I'm looking at stuff on the wheel.
- 50:20Speaker 1: He's lost again.
- 50:21Speaker 9: I mean, I was trying to give him an extra
- 50:23Speaker 9: shot to, uh, on the wheel there sing all day.
- 50:26Speaker 9: That would mean you sing for the rest of the day,
- 50:27Speaker 9: everything you say.
- 50:29Speaker 1: There's wig out. You'd have to wear a wig for
- 50:31Speaker 1: the rest of the day. You got any plans today?
- 50:34Speaker 1: I got some plans. I was going to the gallery
- 50:37Speaker 1: after this. Oh, okay.
- 50:38Speaker 7: Perfect.
- 50:39Speaker 1: There is wet sock. You would have to dip your
- 50:42Speaker 1: foot and wear a wet sock for the rest of
- 50:44Speaker 1: the day. Take shots. Wear kids floaties.
- 50:47Speaker 9: There's listener's choice, which means we would just pull, you know,
- 50:51Speaker 9: like an Instagram vote and they pick it, which would
- 50:54Speaker 9: be fun.
- 50:55Speaker 1: Face tats. There's a bunch of stuff on this wheel.
- 50:58Speaker 9: When you're ready, there's backwards, there's what else? There's Pooh's pick,
- 51:02Speaker 9: Candice's pick.
- 51:03Speaker 1: Let's see what it lands on. There's a ton of stuff.
- 51:05Speaker 1: When you're ready, are you ready, Pooh? Spin that. That's
- 51:08Speaker 1: a good spin, too.
- 51:08Speaker 7: Okay, let's see what it lands on.
- 51:15Speaker 1: It is a little wonky.
- 51:16Speaker 6: Why is it shaking like that?
- 51:18Speaker 1: And it has landed on. I don't know. It's going
- 51:19Speaker 1: to break. It's still going. It has landed on. It's
- 51:27Speaker 1: still going.
- 51:27Speaker 6: What's it going to be?
- 51:33Speaker 1: It has landed on. Backwards. Backwards? Yes. I don't even
- 51:39Speaker 1: know if you know what that is.
- 51:40Speaker 6: I know that's why I'm laughing.
- 51:42Speaker 4: It's just not me.
- 51:43Speaker 1: What is it? I will explain.
- 51:46Speaker 4: Pass the L is what I was afraid of.
- 51:47Speaker 1: I will explain what backwards is.
- 51:49Speaker 3: What is it?
- 51:50Speaker 4: You're going to tell us?
- 51:51Speaker 1: Yes. I can't believe you don't remember. We talked about this.
- 51:53Speaker 6: I don't remember.
- 51:54Speaker 4: What is backwards closed?
- 51:55Speaker 1: What is backwards? No, it's not closed.
- 51:57Speaker 4: That was Chris Cross.
- 51:58Speaker 1: You know what?
- 51:59Speaker 9: I'll tell you next, and we're going to do it
- 52:01Speaker 9: on Instagram, too. We're going to go live like we
- 52:02Speaker 9: do every Friday at Mix 1029 FM. Give us a
- 52:04Speaker 9: couple minutes at Mix 1029 FM. I'll tell you what
- 52:07Speaker 9: I'll have to do for the rest of the day next.
- 52:12Speaker 3: It's Billy the Kid in the Mornings, woo!
- 52:18Speaker 6: On Mix 102.9.
- 52:19Speaker 4: Wheel of Misfortune.
- 52:21Speaker 1: We just played it. Pooh lost.
- 52:23Speaker 9: By the way, we're live on Instagram right now. At
- 52:25Speaker 9: Mix 102.9 FM. At Mix 102.9 FM. Come check us out.
- 52:29Speaker 9: Come hang with us. We just like saying hi and
- 52:31Speaker 9: messing with y'all. And off the air we talk and just,
- 52:34Speaker 9: you know, we're ridiculous. But we just had the Wheel
- 52:37Speaker 9: of Misfortune.
- 52:38Speaker 1: Pooh is lost probably, I think, what, 90% of the time? No,
- 52:42Speaker 1: it's not 90. It's been one, two, three, like three times.
- 52:45Speaker 7: 70%.
- 52:45Speaker 1: Yeah, 70. And if you don't know about the Wheel
- 52:47Speaker 1: of Misfortune, it's a game we play. It's trivia.
- 52:50Speaker 9: If you lose the trivia, you spin the wheel. There's
- 52:51Speaker 9: ridiculous things on the wheel. I'm so mad and disappointed, though,
- 52:54Speaker 9: in Candace Lopez and producer Pooh.
- 52:56Speaker 6: Why?
- 52:57Speaker 9: So months ago, we started, we were going to do
- 52:59Speaker 9: the Wheel of Misfortune months ago. We came up with
- 53:02Speaker 9: a list of stuff and punishments that we were going
- 53:03Speaker 9: to do and stuff that we could put on the wheel.
- 53:05Speaker 1: And we put a ton of stuff on the sheet.
- 53:07Speaker 6: Wasn't that like July or.
- 53:08Speaker 1: Sometime over the summer? It was summer. Yeah. I mean,
- 53:12Speaker 1: still summer, guys. Technically.
- 53:13Speaker 4: For one more weekend.
- 53:15Speaker 1: So we put all this stuff on the list.
- 53:17Speaker 9: And then when something is, you know, we use it,
- 53:19Speaker 9: we rotate it on.
- 53:21Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 53:22Speaker 9: It landed on backwards, and you guys don't remember what
- 53:24Speaker 9: backwards was.
- 53:25Speaker 3: No.
- 53:27Speaker 1: That is hysterical to me.
- 53:28Speaker 6: I don't know. I'm having a brain fart because I
- 53:30Speaker 6: just kept thinking it was the close backwards, but that
- 53:31Speaker 6: was crisscross.
- 53:32Speaker 1: No, Candace, I kind of expect Pooh to not remember.
- 53:35Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 53:35Speaker 1: But I expect you to remember.
- 53:37Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 53:39Speaker 4: Talk backwards?
- 53:39Speaker 7: No.
- 53:40Speaker 4: Because my son and I do that.
- 53:41Speaker 1: Are you ready for it?
- 53:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:43Speaker 1: For the rest of the day, Pooh will have to.
- 53:47Speaker 1: Walk backwards.
- 53:48Speaker 7: Oh, yeah.
- 53:49Speaker 1: Do you remember that?
- 53:50Speaker 7: Yes. Okay.
- 53:51Speaker 5: What?
- 53:52Speaker 1: That's right. For the rest of the day.
- 53:54Speaker 6: Because that just seems so insignificant when we prove that.
- 53:58Speaker 1: We were just laughing. It was, like, ridiculous.
- 54:01Speaker 9: Just the fact that somebody will have to walk backwards
- 54:03Speaker 9: for the entire day. For the rest of the day,
- 54:06Speaker 9: he will have to walk backwards everywhere he goes, no
- 54:08Speaker 9: matter what he does. And if you see him, by
- 54:10Speaker 9: the way, if you see him out and about and
- 54:13Speaker 9: he's not walking backwards, the punishment for wheel of misfortune is.
- 54:17Speaker 1: You're an automatic loser the next week, and you have
- 54:19Speaker 1: to do it again.
- 54:19Speaker 7: Oh.
- 54:22Speaker 9: So you don't want to get stacked up with multiple
- 54:24Speaker 9: different Wheel of Misfortune punishments.
- 54:26Speaker 4: No, you don't.
- 54:27Speaker 1: I got something to do after the show. I asked
- 54:29Speaker 1: you what you had to do for the rest of
- 54:31Speaker 1: the show or for the rest of the day. I
- 54:32Speaker 1: got to go to the Galleria.
- 54:34Speaker 11: My son's homecoming dance is Saturday, so I got to
- 54:37Speaker 11: go get him some shoes.
- 54:39Speaker 1: Oh, well, guess what? I'm going to be walking to
- 54:43Speaker 1: the Galleria backwards. You're going to walk backwards.
- 54:46Speaker 7: Oh.
- 54:48Speaker 9: And I swear, because if there's one thing I love
- 54:51Speaker 9: about our listeners and our family is y'all call people out.
- 54:55Speaker 9: If you see Pooh driving and texting, I get a
- 54:58Speaker 9: DM about it.
- 54:59Speaker 2: I swear.
- 55:00Speaker 1: I mean, five. And you tell it on me quick. Yes,
- 55:02Speaker 1: and I love it. Yeah, if you see him at.
- 55:05Speaker 4: The Galleria, he frequents Chipotle. What's that bakery in Wiley
- 55:09Speaker 4: you frequent?
- 55:10Speaker 6: Auntie Anne's you like?
- 55:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm always at Auntie Anne's. What's the bakery called?
- 55:13Speaker 4: Isn't there a bakery or something.
- 55:15Speaker 1: Over there you go to? No, I go to Auntie
- 55:16Speaker 1: Anne's downtown in Wiley, yeah. Oh, okay. No, there's another
- 55:20Speaker 1: bakery you go to.
- 55:20Speaker 4: Yeah, I can't think of it for donuts.
- 55:22Speaker 1: Oh, sweet and stuff. Yeah, that's what we're talking about.
- 55:25Speaker 1: Auntie Anne's is not a local bakery.
- 55:27Speaker 9: But either way, no matter what, if you see him
- 55:29Speaker 9: out and about and he's walking forwards, I mean, you
- 55:31Speaker 9: got to do it until midnight tonight.
- 55:34Speaker 1: Midnight tonight? Wow.
- 55:36Speaker 9: What's the rest of the day? That's what the challenge
- 55:38Speaker 9: always is. Why are we acting like I'm making up
- 55:41Speaker 9: the rules now?
- 55:41Speaker 1: This is months ago.
- 55:42Speaker 4: No, it's always all day.
- 55:44Speaker 1: Get better at trivia. I don't know what to tell you.
- 55:47Speaker 1: My kids are going to be looking at me.
- 55:48Speaker 11: They already are embarrassed of me.
- 55:51Speaker 1: Now, today, especially. I'm sorry. I feel bad for y'all,
- 55:56Speaker 1: for the kids. I do, too.
- 55:57Speaker 6: I might go to the gallery after the show.
- 55:59Speaker 1: I might have to go just to see them do this.
- 56:01Speaker 1: Because if I see him walking forwards, uh-uh.
- 56:04Speaker 7: Right, yeah.
- 56:05Speaker 1: So I got to get on the escalator going up? Yeah.
- 56:08Speaker 1: We're live on Instagram. Don't worry. We're going to see.
- 56:11Speaker 1: I don't even know if he can walk backwards. No,
- 56:13Speaker 1: you did. I can walk backwards. He's not that athletic.
- 56:16Speaker 1: I know my feet are bad, but I can walk backwards. Okay, well.
- 56:19Speaker 4: Let's see.
- 56:20Speaker 1: Show everybody online on Instagram. You ready?
- 56:23Speaker 9: Go out the door backwards and see if you can
- 56:25Speaker 9: even do it. He's going to try to leave the
- 56:27Speaker 9: studio backwards.
- 56:28Speaker 7: You ready?
- 56:28Speaker 1: Yeah, just walk. Oh.
- 56:31Speaker 4: Oh, my God!
- 56:33Speaker 7: Oh, God!
- 56:34Speaker 4: He looks like he's in reverse.
- 56:36Speaker 1: He looks like he's trying to take... Yeah. Like he's
- 56:40Speaker 1: trying to take miles off his odometer.
- 56:42Speaker 7: Oh!
- 56:46Speaker 1: All right, that's the challenge. Good luck.
- 56:49Speaker 3: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 56:52Speaker 3: Kid in the Morning.
- 56:53Speaker 7: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 56:55Speaker 1: I have so much fun with everybody on Instagram Live.
- 56:58Speaker 7: I know.
- 56:58Speaker 9: We're live right now at Mix 102.9 FM because, well...
- 57:02Speaker 9: Who lost the wheel of misfortune? We had to see him,
- 57:04Speaker 9: you know, pay off his challenge. He's got to do
- 57:06Speaker 9: it all day, but he's walking backwards everywhere he goes.
- 57:08Speaker 7: Right.
- 57:09Speaker 1: And he just went and got coffee.
- 57:10Speaker 4: He didn't spill any.
- 57:12Speaker 1: He did good.
- 57:12Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 57:13Speaker 1: He did really good. Your hammies are going to be
- 57:15Speaker 1: worked out. Yeah? Yeah, because it works your hand. I
- 57:18Speaker 1: think it does. The girl's going to like that.
- 57:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 57:21Speaker 1: Well, yeah, but you need to get some lotion. Oh, yeah.
- 57:23Speaker 1: Everybody on Instagram live said your calves were a little ash. Well,
- 57:26Speaker 1: I didn't expect to lose today. Okay. Candace Lopez, what
- 57:30Speaker 1: is going on?
- 57:31Speaker 6: Well, let's talk about the weather real quick. We're going
- 57:33Speaker 6: to warm up today.
- 57:33Speaker 4: We'll get up to about 98.
- 57:35Speaker 6: Basically the same thing all weekend, but we do have
- 57:38Speaker 6: a slight chance of rain Sunday night into Monday. And then,
- 57:40Speaker 6: I mean, we're slowly going to taper the temperature.
- 57:43Speaker 1: Down next week. Can we turn it down for the fair?
- 57:46Speaker 4: It's not going to be significant, but.
- 57:47Speaker 9: Last year when I walked to the fair, which we're
- 57:49Speaker 9: doing again this year, and I'm so excited. First day
- 57:51Speaker 9: kicking off, we walked to the fair, 13, 14 miles, whatever,
- 57:54Speaker 9: and we gave away tickets along the way.
- 57:56Speaker 1: And it was perfect last year. If you remember, it
- 57:57Speaker 1: was like 75 and sunny. Yeah, it was.
- 58:00Speaker 9: So I don't think we're going to get that lucky
- 58:01Speaker 9: this time. It's not going to stop me. I'm still
- 58:03Speaker 9: going to walk in a corny dog outfit.
- 58:04Speaker 5: Yes.
- 58:05Speaker 1: Don't matter.
- 58:05Speaker 6: Guys, are you ready for the Cowboys home opener Sunday
- 58:09Speaker 6: afternoon at three at 25? The Washington commanders will be
- 58:13Speaker 6: in town. Both teams, of course, coming off of losses
- 58:16Speaker 6: in their opening games.
- 58:17Speaker 4: Washington lost to Philadelphia.
- 58:19Speaker 9: Yeah, but Philadelphia is kind of good. Yeah, we lost
- 58:22Speaker 9: to the Giants and they suck.
- 58:24Speaker 4: So that doesn't make me feel better.
- 58:25Speaker 1: It's our year. It's not over. It's fine. Maybe they
- 58:29Speaker 1: should play backwards.
- 58:33Speaker 4: Let's call Jerry and tell him.
- 58:34Speaker 1: Okay, I'll tell him.
- 58:35Speaker 6: Guys, by the way, AT & T Stadium just unveiled
- 58:37Speaker 6: their new food offerings starting Sunday.
- 58:40Speaker 4: There's so many nacho options.
- 58:41Speaker 6: I didn't realize that AT & T Stadium barbecue Doritos
- 58:46Speaker 6: loaded nachos.
- 58:48Speaker 4: That's one of the options. And then there's Tostitos Peri
- 58:50Speaker 4: Peri Chicken Nachos.
- 58:51Speaker 1: I don't know what that is, but I'll eat it.
- 58:53Speaker 4: And then a bunch of Kraft barbecue sauce options.
- 58:56Speaker 6: Ah, okay. Aioli chicken sandwich. There's the barbecue DCQ.
- 59:00Speaker 4: Yeah, so lots going on.
- 59:02Speaker 6: I guess some of these food items were offered during
- 59:05Speaker 6: the World Cup, so people maybe have tried them before,
- 59:07Speaker 6: but the usuals are there, like the Rowdy Dog.
- 59:09Speaker 4: You know what?
- 59:10Speaker 9: I love the Rowdy Dog, and I love nachos, but
- 59:11Speaker 9: I know it sounds weird. You know what kind of
- 59:13Speaker 9: nachos are my favorite?
- 59:14Speaker 7: What?
- 59:15Speaker 9: Just the old school, regular, cheap, like gas station 7-Eleven nachos.
- 59:20Speaker 1: Yum. Where the chips get all soggy. Oh, yeah. It's
- 59:24Speaker 1: like fake jalapenos on them. I don't even know. They're
- 59:26Speaker 1: like pickle. I don't even care if they're real. It
- 59:28Speaker 1: doesn't matter. The cheese is pretty much plastic.
- 59:30Speaker 7: Yeah, it is. It's good.
- 59:31Speaker 1: I'll eat five gallons of those.
- 59:33Speaker 6: For sure.
- 59:33Speaker 4: Let me tell you about this, guys.
- 59:35Speaker 6: Toys R Us is about to have their biggest expansion
- 59:38Speaker 6: in years, opening 120 stores. These are going to be
- 59:41Speaker 6: open in time for the holidays. I think we're getting
- 59:43Speaker 6: one at the Allen Premium.
- 59:45Speaker 4: Outlets, too.
- 59:45Speaker 7: Oh, yeah. I know.
- 59:46Speaker 9: I'm so glad they're bringing it back, like an actual
- 59:48Speaker 9: store and not like a part of another store.
- 59:49Speaker 1: They're bringing it back, back.
- 59:50Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't like a store at a store.
- 59:52Speaker 6: I know.
- 59:52Speaker 4: Like, Sephora inside whatever.
- 59:54Speaker 1: Kohl's.
- 59:55Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 59:56Speaker 4: I want it inside. I just want the whole Sephora.
- 59:58Speaker 1: Or Toys R Us inside Target.
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: Yes, that's what they were doing.
- 1:00:01Speaker 9: That's what they were doing. And I want a dedicated
- 1:00:03Speaker 9: store for just toys. I don't care if I'm a grown-up.
- 1:00:05Speaker 6: Yeah, but by the way, they're saying this demand for
- 1:00:08Speaker 6: toy stores isn't driven by kids. It's driven by adults
- 1:00:11Speaker 6: because the trading cards and collectibles market is so big.
- 1:00:15Speaker 9: The trends are wild right now because there's two trends.
- 1:00:18Speaker 9: We need adults are playing with so many more toys.
- 1:00:21Speaker 9: And then the other trend is there's more single men
- 1:00:24Speaker 9: than ever before.
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: I saw that.
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: Like there's more, most men.
- 1:00:27Speaker 9: And saying like by next, I don't know, year or something, 60%
- 1:00:29Speaker 9: of men are going to be single or something.
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: Wow. 60%.
- 1:00:34Speaker 4: And what's the number for women?
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: It's like 50. I don't know. That doesn't make sense,
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: but either way.
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: They said by what was the number? I saw the
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: trend or something.
- 1:00:42Speaker 9: It said like by the year 2030, almost 50% of
- 1:00:47Speaker 9: women are going to be childless and single.
- 1:00:49Speaker 6: Wow.
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: That's where we're headed. That's another story.
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: But at least we'll have Toys R Us.
- 1:00:55Speaker 6: You'll have your trading cards for sure. Real quick, guys,
- 1:00:59Speaker 6: we got more details on Lady Gaga's baby. A new
- 1:01:02Speaker 6: report says the baby we all saw in that picture,
- 1:01:05Speaker 6: she was carrying the baby in the sling.
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: It is a baby girl.
- 1:01:08Speaker 6: Her name is Rose Bean Polanski. She was born June
- 1:01:12Speaker 6: 9th via surrogate.
- 1:01:14Speaker 4: So, yeah, that's all the news that we've got about
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: the baby. People talking about her name.
- 1:01:19Speaker 6: Maybe Rose could have come from one of the songs
- 1:01:21Speaker 6: she covered in A Star is Born.
- 1:01:23Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:01:24Speaker 4: And then the middle name Bean, they're saying, could be.
- 1:01:26Speaker 6: A tribute to Carl Bean, who inspired her song Born
- 1:01:28Speaker 6: This Way.
- 1:01:30Speaker 4: So, yeah, Lady Gaga's a mom.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: Of a baby girl. Might be a tribute to you, Candace,
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: because you love beans.
- 1:01:34Speaker 4: I do love beans.
- 1:01:36Speaker 9: You just love beans. You should actually, if you ever
- 1:01:38Speaker 9: have another child, please name it Little Baby Pinto.
- 1:01:39Speaker 6: Well, first of all, I'm not having another child. But

- 1:02:18Speaker 9: want to buy one. Our Corny Dog Walk is coming
- 1:02:20Speaker 9: up next week. We walk to the State Fair of
- 1:02:22Speaker 9: Texas this year. We're doing something special where we have
- 1:02:25Speaker 9: these custom T-shirts where you can buy that and all
- 1:02:27Speaker 9: the proceeds. It goes to charity. So you don't know,
- 1:02:31Speaker 9: but a lot of people don't know, at least, that
- 1:02:32Speaker 9: the charity, the State Fair of Texas, is one of
- 1:02:34Speaker 9: the biggest charities in North Texas.
- 1:02:36Speaker 4: For sure.
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: They do so much.
- 1:02:37Speaker 9: So we wanted to do something and get back and
- 1:02:39Speaker 9: just team up with Big Tex to help out and
- 1:02:42Speaker 9: I mean, from food pantries to education to there's the
- 1:02:45Speaker 9: list is just huge.
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: And it's all for charities here in North Texas.
- 1:02:48Speaker 9: So when you buy a shirt and we're going to
- 1:02:50Speaker 9: try to sell 200.
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: That's the goal.
- 1:02:52Speaker 9: That way we could at least give the State Fair
- 1:02:55Speaker 9: of Texas a couple thousand dollars that would help out.
- 1:02:58Speaker 9: So go to the link in the bio at Mix
- 1:03:00Speaker 9: 1029 FM on Instagram.
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: Now you have a secret. What is going on?
- 1:03:04Speaker 8: Yeah i'm i'm keeping a secret from my dad uh
- 1:03:08Speaker 8: well because honestly i just don't know how to tell
- 1:03:11Speaker 8: him the truth without uh just crushing him you.
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: Know what what's going on with your dad all.
- 1:03:16Speaker 8: Right uh well my parents okay so they got divorced
- 1:03:20Speaker 8: when i was younger uh and my my dad has
- 1:03:23Speaker 8: uh pretty much been single ever since you know and
- 1:03:27Speaker 8: He's getting older now. I hate saying this about my dad, but,
- 1:03:31Speaker 8: you know, I just think he's lonely, man. And so, yeah,
- 1:03:36Speaker 8: I mean, you know, he told me recently that he'd
- 1:03:38Speaker 8: been talking to a woman and man, I was so
- 1:03:41Speaker 8: excited for him.
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: You know, I'm like, good. Yes, dad. It's about time.
- 1:03:46Speaker 8: You know, he met her on Facebook and they've been
- 1:03:49Speaker 8: messaging for a while. Apparently they're talking about meeting in
- 1:03:53Speaker 8: person soon. I haven't seen my dad as excited about
- 1:03:56Speaker 8: somebody in just years.
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: This is awesome. Yeah, but here's the problem.
- 1:04:04Speaker 8: I am... I'm almost 100% positive that she is AI.
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: I mean, like, totally fake. Oh, no. You think the girl... How?
- 1:04:17Speaker 4: Why do you think that?
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: Oh, man.
- 1:04:19Speaker 8: Well, I was over at his house one night, and
- 1:04:21Speaker 8: he just started showing me pictures of her, you know? And, okay,
- 1:04:25Speaker 8: so she's younger than him, really attractive, you know, and those...
- 1:04:30Speaker 8: You know what I mean? But immediately something felt off, man.
- 1:04:33Speaker 8: I mean, every picture just looked a little too perfect.
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 1:04:38Speaker 8: Like there were no normal pictures with friends, you know,
- 1:04:42Speaker 8: no family photos, no random ugly pictures that somebody tagged
- 1:04:46Speaker 8: her in, you know, like just weirdly perfect pictures that honestly, man,
- 1:04:52Speaker 8: they just look AI generated.
- 1:04:54Speaker 9: I know what you mean, because you can definitely, especially
- 1:04:57Speaker 9: as AI, I mean, AI is getting better, but you
- 1:04:59Speaker 9: can definitely.
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: Tell the AI effect. You can tell.
- 1:05:03Speaker 9: And it doesn't matter how human it looks. There's something
- 1:05:06Speaker 9: there's something empty about the pictures.
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: Yeah. You know, you can see there's no soul.
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:05:11Speaker 9: And it's like almost like the AI generated music. It's
- 1:05:14Speaker 9: not that it's bad. You could tell that it has
- 1:05:16Speaker 9: no character.
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:05:18Speaker 9: You know, so you you think that he. Oh, see,
- 1:05:21Speaker 9: this worries me, though, that he's getting scammed or something.
- 1:05:23Speaker 9: But I mean, so did you tell him or what happened?
- 1:05:26Speaker 8: I mean, honestly, like I started asking him questions about her, man.
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: I'm like, have you FaceTime her, man? He said, no.
- 1:05:33Speaker 8: Have you, have you even talked to her on the phone?
- 1:05:35Speaker 8: And he said, no, you know, like she always has
- 1:05:37Speaker 8: some excuse, like why they can't communicate, you know? And
- 1:05:40Speaker 8: I'm like, dad, man, there's a lot of scams out there, right?
- 1:05:43Speaker 8: There's a lot of scams out there, you know? And
- 1:05:47Speaker 8: he got defensive almost immediately. And he was like, She
- 1:05:51Speaker 8: never asked me for money, man.
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: I just I hope I hope that's true. I mean,
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: I hope, you know, I mean.
- 1:05:59Speaker 9: What's stopping you from telling him like, hey, dad, I
- 1:06:02Speaker 9: think this is fake.
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: Like, you know what I mean? Like, you don't want
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: to tell him you're just kind of, hey, be weary,
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: but you don't want to come out and say it.
- 1:06:08Speaker 8: Like, I think my dad generally loves talking to her, man.
- 1:06:12Speaker 8: It's like it's brought out this side of him that
- 1:06:14Speaker 8: I haven't seen in years, man. He's happy.
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: You know, he's got something to look forward to every day.
- 1:06:19Speaker 8: And I feel like I'm going to be the person
- 1:06:22Speaker 8: that just takes that away from him.
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: You know, it's just. Yeah. I don't know.
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: That's tough.
- 1:06:27Speaker 9: This is a tough one because, I mean, I think
- 1:06:29Speaker 9: you have to be careful. And I think you have
- 1:06:31Speaker 9: to tell them or maybe do your own research, a
- 1:06:34Speaker 9: little more research on this person and figure it out.
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: But you can't let your dad.
- 1:06:39Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:06:39Speaker 9: Because my mom will fall for certain videos that are
- 1:06:42Speaker 9: AI and she'll be like, oh, look at this lion.
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: He didn't attack this kitten. Animals are awesome.
- 1:06:48Speaker 7: Oh.
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: And I'm like, Mom, that is not, that's AI.
- 1:06:51Speaker 7: AI!
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: And I'm like, yeah, that's not real. I mean, I
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: would say something. I don't know about you, Candace.
- 1:06:56Speaker 6: Yeah, I would have to say something because the longer
- 1:06:59Speaker 6: he gets involved, the deeper his feelings are, the harder
- 1:07:02Speaker 6: it's going to be on him when he gets let down.
- 1:07:04Speaker 6: If it is AI.
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: They're not talking on the phone that's a red flag.
- 1:07:07Speaker 6: Excuses why we can't talk on the phone.
- 1:07:09Speaker 9: Get out of here we can't facetime right he's getting
- 1:07:12Speaker 9: catfished i i you know i don't.
- 1:07:14Speaker 4: Do this or how it works this is.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: Awful you're awful so wrong people get a thrill out
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: of it though i really genuinely think people get they
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: get a kick out of like i don't know if
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: it's the power if it's the fake life they love
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: catfishing people uh it's awful but um can you let
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: us know what happens but I wouldn't let your dad
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: go too far down this path. Go find him somebody real. Yeah.
- 1:07:38Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: I'll let you know. Yeah. I don't think this woman exists, man.
- 1:07:43Speaker 8: I'll probably have to confront him, sit him down, you know,
- 1:07:45Speaker 8: but yeah, I'll let you know how it goes.
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: Yeah. Good luck.
- 1:07:48Speaker 9: And I'm sorry that's happening to him, but keep us
- 1:07:50Speaker 9: in the loop. And yeah, I hope it, I hope
- 1:07:52Speaker 9: nothing gets crazy.
- 1:07:53Speaker 6: That or he forgets his Facebook password.
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: Yeah. Ooh, reporter, make her go away.
- 1:07:58Speaker 7: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:07:59Speaker 9: Maybe you report her to Facebook and be like, hey,
- 1:08:01Speaker 9: I think she's fake. They'll find out, and if she is,
- 1:08:04Speaker 9: they'll punt her out. I mean, he's going to be
- 1:08:06Speaker 9: heartbroken for a minute.
- 1:08:07Speaker 4: And then he's just going to get ghosted, basically.
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: Yeah, and welcome to the club. We all do. Well,
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: good luck with everything and let us know, okay? All right, thanks.
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: There you go.
- 1:08:16Speaker 7: The new Mix 102.9.
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: 102.9.
