- 1:00Speaker 2: this thing. Let's uh oh, look at that. That's right,
- 1:04Speaker 2: we're on look at that. Good morning. Welcome into the
- 1:07Speaker 2: auta Bounds Show, ESPN one oh five nine. The Zoned

- 1:47Speaker 2: with You. Good to be back. Uh, took a quick
- 1:51Speaker 2: trip out of state. Well, we took Friday off for
- 1:54Speaker 2: Fourth of July and U and then hit the road
- 1:59Speaker 2: for a couple of days and then got back yesterday
- 2:03Speaker 2: and we'll hit the road again. So the the road
- 2:07Speaker 2: trips continue and we're off and running and excited about
- 2:13Speaker 2: the show today. Good to be in the Bank Plus Studio.
- 2:18Speaker 2: And yeah, the United States got eliminated. It was a
- 2:23Speaker 2: good run Belgium that that was domination. I mean, they
- 2:29Speaker 2: were better and and we didn't play well, so I
- 2:34Speaker 2: mean it was a common they played well, we didn't,
- 2:37Speaker 2: and so it ended up being a blowout. And I
- 2:41Speaker 2: thought we had a good run. And I know that
- 2:43Speaker 2: people were really upset that we got you know, eliminated,
- 2:52Speaker 2: and and I kind of liked that people had gotten
- 2:55Speaker 2: into it. Bars and you know, the service industry saw
- 2:59Speaker 2: a mass, massive boom the last few weeks. I mean
- 3:04Speaker 2: billions count around the country, and so that's pretty cool.
- 3:12Speaker 2: And you know they're look travels up around the country,
- 3:17Speaker 2: people coming in and out. It was great. They'll finish
- 3:19Speaker 2: it out. There'll still be people that are excited. But
- 3:23Speaker 2: a lot of the Americans will move on. It's football season,
- 3:26Speaker 2: American football, which is more fun to watch than soccer.
- 3:30Speaker 2: But obviously soccer is a good game, but you can't
- 3:33Speaker 2: beat American football. It's just better. It's a better product
- 3:37Speaker 2: on TV live whatever. Now. I mean, I like the
- 3:43Speaker 2: way that soccer has you know, they don't take for
- 3:47Speaker 2: it at four hundred and eighty commercials. But but yeah,
- 3:51Speaker 2: American football is much more exciting and much better on
- 3:55Speaker 2: the on the tube. Well, and so is basketball. I mean,
- 4:02Speaker 2: let's be honest, because it's moving now. Basketball you're in
- 4:04Speaker 2: and out in two hours. Hey, we want to hear
- 4:07Speaker 2: from you. Who's with us? Who's hanging out with us?
- 4:10Speaker 2: Ob nation, We need a big roll call today. Do
- 4:14Speaker 2: you still have a soccer hangover? Are you one hundred
- 4:17Speaker 2: percent now in the SEC football? The OOB roll call
- 4:21Speaker 2: six one eight eight five three seven seven six six
- 4:27Speaker 2: oh one eight eight five three seven seven six. How
- 4:32Speaker 2: are you listening one O five nine the zone or streaming?
- 4:35Speaker 2: Where are you listening from? And have you turned the page?
- 4:40Speaker 2: And are you all SEC football or NFL? Because you know,
- 4:45Speaker 2: we got media days getting kicked off different conferences in
- 4:49Speaker 2: the sec will be here before we know it. We'll
- 4:52Speaker 2: be up at Pearl River Resort with Bar two in
- 4:56Speaker 2: a couple of weeks. So that'll be fun. That's gonna
- 4:59Speaker 2: be great. We'll do a couple of shows. We'll do
- 5:02Speaker 2: one in studio here and then we'll do a couple
- 5:04Speaker 2: of shows up there, and then we'll let him go
- 5:08Speaker 2: do whatever he does, talk to himself and all that
- 5:11Speaker 2: kind of good stuff and hunt Elk and whatever. But
- 5:17Speaker 2: he's been ranking coaches all summer, which has been good
- 5:20Speaker 2: and interesting on matrix analytical and since none of us
- 5:24Speaker 2: have any kind of you know, metric or barometer to
- 5:28Speaker 2: know who is good, and we don't. Yeah, I mean,
- 5:33Speaker 2: I've heard all these assistant coaches are good that go
- 5:35Speaker 2: through Mississippi State Old miss over the years. I'm like,
- 5:38Speaker 2: they're really not. I mean, occasionally you have some, right,
- 5:41Speaker 2: I mean Pete Golding was a hell of a defensive coordinator.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Jeff Collins was a hell of a defensive coordinator. But
- 5:46Speaker 2: most of these guys are you know, or until Lane
- 5:50Speaker 2: got in and obviously Mullen had a good staff for
- 5:53Speaker 2: the most part, there were some Missus. Lane had a
- 5:56Speaker 2: really good staff at Old Miss. I don't. I still
- 6:00Speaker 2: don't know where he learned how to staff, but wherever
- 6:04Speaker 2: he figured it out, we know that ninety five percent
- 6:07Speaker 2: of coaches can't do it, and that's why most don't
- 6:11Speaker 2: make it as as head coaches. We'll see what like
- 6:15Speaker 2: Chris Jans thought that was gonna be a little bit
- 6:18Speaker 2: more of a reboot there, and he brought back one
- 6:21Speaker 2: of his old assistants that was with him at some
- 6:26Speaker 2: other stops years ago. We'll see that's not really a
- 6:29Speaker 2: new voice in the room, but we'll see how it looks.
- 6:32Speaker 2: But yeah, we want an out of bounds roll call
- 6:34Speaker 2: sixh one eight eight five three seven seven six, Uh
- 6:39Speaker 2: find us on X at bo bounds already tweeted today.
- 6:42Speaker 2: That's rare, and so I didn't really tweet much when
- 6:48Speaker 2: I don't think the last few days. And then the
- 6:52Speaker 2: Michelobaltra caller line is six one seven zero seven thirty
- 6:57Speaker 2: seven fifty seven zero seven thirty seven fifty we've got
- 7:02Speaker 2: a two two eight area code. People are upset about
- 7:09Speaker 2: the USA being eliminated because we looked like the bad
- 7:12Speaker 2: News Bears against Belgium. You're right, it's embarrassing anyway. Time
- 7:20Speaker 2: for real football dogs will win five games this year.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Pen this text hell State, that's where I've got them.
- 7:27Speaker 2: I've got Mississippi State at five and seven. There's a
- 7:32Speaker 2: path to six and six. But actually, I mean Dan
- 7:36Speaker 2: Mullen would trip over six wins. But but you know,
- 7:40Speaker 2: so would Lane. Good coaches, because you got a bunch
- 7:43Speaker 2: of winnable games. You know where you're ei there fifty
- 7:46Speaker 2: to fifty or maybe they're fifty five forty five percent
- 7:49Speaker 2: over you or your fifty five. You know those things
- 7:51Speaker 2: that are possession. You know, at Minnesota at South Carolina,
- 7:56Speaker 2: Bandy at home, Auburn at home, Oklahoma at home. You know,
- 8:01Speaker 2: you've got opportunities. But I've got him at at five
- 8:05Speaker 2: and seven. So war Eagle Rich says, I have not
- 8:11Speaker 2: consumed enough soccer to have a hangover, not quite locked
- 8:15Speaker 2: into football yet. Six losing seasons will do that to you.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Wardamn Eagle. Yeah, that's crazy that y'all fell off the
- 8:22Speaker 2: cliff the way y'all did. But you know, you ran
- 8:25Speaker 2: Gus Mauzan out, you hired Brian Harson. Then the Hugh
- 8:29Speaker 2: Freeze experiment was a disaster, not as big as the
- 8:33Speaker 2: Levy MSU, but it wasn't good because y'all had high
- 8:36Speaker 2: expectations because he had won at Ole Miss and Liberty,
- 8:40Speaker 2: and I thought he was going to win. And I'm
- 8:42Speaker 2: not sure it was the right move to get rid
- 8:44Speaker 2: of him, just because his games were really, really close.
- 8:48Speaker 2: But I also don't know if he had checked out
- 8:53Speaker 2: and has just kind of gone to fishing and golf
- 9:00Speaker 2: mode after you know, making a bunch of money. I
- 9:03Speaker 2: don't know if he can get in that locked in,
- 9:06Speaker 2: you know, twenty fourteen mode, Hugh Freeze. Don't know what
- 9:09Speaker 2: Hugh will do. Not sure he'll be able to coach again.
- 9:13Speaker 2: He won't get a job like Auburn, but he'll be
- 9:16Speaker 2: able to coach again. Don't know how that looks or
- 9:21Speaker 2: if he wants to. But boy, that's a long time.
- 9:25Speaker 2: I mean, he's not the fifty six. That's a long
- 9:29Speaker 2: time to just play golf and fish. Although I know
- 9:34Speaker 2: some of you are like, I could do it. Yeah.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Sherman and Natch just streaming on the oob app working
- 9:43Speaker 2: in Vicksburg today, ready for SEC football, Hell State? Well,
- 9:49Speaker 2: what do you think, Sherman, give me your give me
- 9:52Speaker 2: your prediction for Mississippi State. How many wins? In fact,
- 9:56Speaker 2: I posted this on Facebook. I want to know, oh,
- 10:00Speaker 2: your top five teams for twenty twenty six.
- 10:11Speaker 3: What big boy off the wackle, off the wackle?
- 10:35Speaker 2: What man he's got to set a mits on him? Yeah? Oh,
- 10:41Speaker 2: man reminds me of Fletch chevy Chase when he's getting
- 10:48Speaker 2: his doctor's exam. One didn't sound like that was awesome
- 10:51Speaker 2: for him. But good morning, Welcome into the Ida Bounds
- 10:54Speaker 2: Show e SPN one oh five nine The Zone bow
- 11:00Speaker 2: Bound straight funk with you and have you uh have
- 11:08Speaker 2: you turned the page on soccer? And now you're SEC
- 11:13Speaker 2: football NFL. We got media Days, Drew Brees going to
- 11:17Speaker 2: the Hall of Fame SEC Media Days in Tampa and
- 11:22Speaker 2: held the NFL report before you know it, like the
- 11:25Speaker 2: Cowboys would be heading out to the Los Angeles area
- 11:31Speaker 2: before you know it. Crazy. You come out of fourth
- 11:35Speaker 2: of July and it gets uh, it gets it gets rolling.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Oh wow, Okay, so, uh did you celebrate the fourth
- 11:47Speaker 2: or did you even know what was going on?
- 11:50Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 11:50Speaker 2: I mean you know we uh yeah, I get celebrated
- 11:53Speaker 2: to We had some barbecue. Okay, yeah did you cook
- 11:57Speaker 2: b three? Oh you went and got barbecue? Yeah, you
- 12:00Speaker 2: got barbecue. Burger's Blues barbecue, dog wood, flow wood. Okay, Hey,
- 12:04Speaker 2: I mean I needed to do it right. I needed
- 12:06Speaker 2: a good brisket. Okay, they do have good brisket. I
- 12:09Speaker 2: got the brisket. Mckenzy got the pulled port. All right.
- 12:12Speaker 2: It's all happened so you you didn't even think about cooking,
- 12:15Speaker 2: and it never was well. I mean I had just
- 12:17Speaker 2: gotten off of you know, I mean I just made
- 12:18Speaker 2: jam Belie and that holds me over for at least
- 12:20Speaker 2: six months. Yeah, it might be ten to twelve. Okay,
- 12:26Speaker 2: I threw it down. It was good. Wow. Thanks to
- 12:31Speaker 2: Drew giving put for the for the meat. Yeah, hear meat.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Love you, Drew, Thank you. I'm glad you won the
- 12:40Speaker 2: whatever he won Elijah Kraig surprise pack. And then you
- 12:43Speaker 2: gave us a bunch of deer hamburger meat and which
- 12:48Speaker 2: we cooked some last night when we got in from
- 12:52Speaker 2: out of town. And all right, Wendy did. I was
- 12:55Speaker 2: doing some other things, but it was good and and
- 13:00Speaker 2: you're right, and then we did we did some of
- 13:03Speaker 2: the deer sausage last week. Yeah. I actually cooked on
- 13:06Speaker 2: the grill for the first time. And for I mean,
- 13:10Speaker 2: I you know, I've been on runs for twenty years
- 13:14Speaker 2: where I'm cooking on the grill all the time, and
- 13:17Speaker 2: I hadn't cooked on the grill this year. I don't
- 13:19Speaker 2: think I may have, but now, I mean, you know,
- 13:22Speaker 2: as far as the cast iron five days a week.
- 13:25Speaker 2: But but I did. I don't know what got into me.
- 13:29Speaker 2: I went over, got the webber, went with the the
- 13:34Speaker 2: lowest end grill that I have, but but the one
- 13:36Speaker 2: that I like cook some chicken. I don't know if
- 13:41Speaker 2: you really cook deer sausage. You just throw it on
- 13:43Speaker 2: there and warm it up. And what else? Did I do?
- 13:46Speaker 2: Count something else? But felt pretty good about it. That
- 13:50Speaker 2: was in the morning, though, I did that Fourth of
- 13:53Speaker 2: July morning. Yeah, went ahead and knocked that out because
- 13:57Speaker 2: we wanted to, you know, go on the boat. Yeah,
- 14:01Speaker 2: do our thing. So where's your party at on the
- 14:03Speaker 2: four oh? Just at the lake? I mean while leave? Yeah,
- 14:10Speaker 2: that that was we We've never gone anywhere, I mean,
- 14:15Speaker 2: unless we've been to the beach. I don't. We may
- 14:18Speaker 2: have done when they were little. We may have done
- 14:19Speaker 2: some beach strips around that time, but now I'm trying
- 14:22Speaker 2: to avoid that until after all the crazies are gone, right,
- 14:28Speaker 2: So you know, you have to do that run with kids,
- 14:31Speaker 2: and they think they got to go the last week
- 14:33Speaker 2: in May or the first week in June and then
- 14:35Speaker 2: again so on whatever. But I think I'm doing pretty good.
- 14:42Speaker 2: I mean, we will be on the coast this week,
- 14:45Speaker 2: but that'll be the beautiful Mississippi Gulf coast, so and
- 14:49Speaker 2: and that'll be busy too. So so you've been busy busy,
- 14:57Speaker 2: Not really, I don't know what I've done in the
- 14:58Speaker 2: past three four days. Just hang around the house and
- 15:02Speaker 2: begin some done. I begin word done. They're working on
- 15:05Speaker 2: the trucks. Yeah, it's funny. That's that's like ongoing week
- 15:09Speaker 2: thing that should have been done days ago. I should
- 15:11Speaker 2: have been Yeah, but that would have meant I would
- 15:13Speaker 2: have had to go and done something. You'd have had
- 15:14Speaker 2: to have been really proactive, right, and you just couldn't
- 15:18Speaker 2: quite get there. I was on holiday too much, brisket.
- 15:20Speaker 2: I was on holiday. Okay, nobody holidays like you. I
- 15:26Speaker 2: would love to see that you have been on a
- 15:29Speaker 2: life long holiday run. Right. My dad always told me
- 15:33Speaker 2: every time I drive, it's a parade, so I need
- 15:35Speaker 2: to treat it like that. Okay, whenever we're riding around,
- 15:38Speaker 2: it's a prey and we feel good about it. Oh interesting,
- 15:41Speaker 2: that would live life. I've never heard that. But okay,
- 15:47Speaker 2: it's National Video Game Day, right, what do you think
- 15:51Speaker 2: a while? What's your favorite video game? It's a probably
- 15:54Speaker 2: if MLB, The Show or FIFA. Easy, okay. Even though
- 15:58Speaker 2: they did just drop the new n C Double, a
- 16:00Speaker 2: game that everyone's hyped up about. I saw that. I
- 16:03Speaker 2: haven't played it, but i'd like to. I would. I
- 16:06Speaker 2: mean that sounds cool. I mean gets run out there
- 16:10Speaker 2: with Mario, he gets run out. Well, I did see
- 16:11Speaker 2: the one thing everyone's complaining about. What is that everyone
- 16:15Speaker 2: picking old myths. Everybody's picking old miss Yeah, because you
- 16:18Speaker 2: get to run around with Trinidad. Well sure if he's
- 16:20Speaker 2: the perfect uh video game player. Yeah, so people are
- 16:25Speaker 2: getting scolded for uh, I can't pick them. So like
- 16:29Speaker 2: if you're in an online matchup, but you get to
- 16:31Speaker 2: see who the other team, who the other person's picking.
- 16:33Speaker 2: If they pick old myths, everyone backs out because you
- 16:35Speaker 2: know you're just gonna see Trinidad. Just go left, right,
- 16:38Speaker 2: left right, just I got you, I got you. Well
- 16:44Speaker 2: that makes sense, that's fun. We've got two one that's already.
- 16:47Speaker 2: We got two very talented quarterbacks in the State and Trinidad,
- 16:50Speaker 2: Chambliss and and and Ca Mario Taylor. One has already
- 16:54Speaker 2: been introduced to the college football world. The other one
- 16:58Speaker 2: will be this year. So Mario and too chabby on
- 17:02Speaker 2: the game at all. I bet he's pretty good. He's
- 17:05Speaker 2: got an eighty nine at speed ninety he's taken off. Okay,
- 17:09Speaker 2: he'll be the one that when people, you know, about
- 17:11Speaker 2: a month into the game, they start picking folks like that. Okay,
- 17:15Speaker 2: well that makes sense when you're six foot four, two
- 17:17Speaker 2: hundred and thirty pounds and can run. Would you buy
- 17:22Speaker 2: a bag of air from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey's wedding?
- 17:28Speaker 2: It will take a lot for me to to do
- 17:30Speaker 2: anything of that nature. I thought that was one of
- 17:33Speaker 2: the funniest things Blake ever did, was giveaway bags of
- 17:39Speaker 2: air from the studio to listeners. He thought that was
- 17:44Speaker 2: the funniest damn thing when he put that on the prize.
- 17:49Speaker 2: Will he put it all over it? Yeah? Yeah, he did.
- 17:55Speaker 2: I love that. That's very him and people came in
- 17:58Speaker 2: so so someone tried selling a bag of air on
- 18:01Speaker 2: eBay that Oh I didn't even know. They've already gotten married,
- 18:05Speaker 2: So I missed all that Okay, I got it n
- 18:07Speaker 2: MSG Okay, that's crazy, that's none of that's on my timeline.
- 18:12Speaker 2: Good yeah, no, I feel good about it. Yeah. I
- 18:15Speaker 2: didn't realize they had they had done the heel. But
- 18:18Speaker 2: uh someone tried selling a bag of air on eBay
- 18:24Speaker 2: that they claimed was collected at Taylor and Travis Taylor
- 18:28Speaker 2: Swift Travis Kelsey's wedding, but the listing has been removed. Yeah,
- 18:33Speaker 2: I need verification. Uh trash from outside Madison Square Garden
- 18:39Speaker 2: was also for sale, but it sold out. Wow yeah wow, Yeah,
- 18:46Speaker 2: they wanted fifty thousand for the bag of air, but
- 18:49Speaker 2: then it was the listing was removed. Yeah, hard to
- 18:53Speaker 2: verify that. Uh, NYC garbage dot com was selling trash
- 18:59Speaker 2: that might have come from the wedding or its guest.
- 19:03Speaker 2: This included fabrics, soda can tops, and even a single AirPod,
- 19:09Speaker 2: all for twenty five dollars apiece.
- 19:11Speaker 3: Wow.
- 19:12Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, who are the losers that bought all that?
- 19:17Speaker 2: I'd like to know on the uh Dancing Rabbit golf
- 19:21Speaker 2: text line six zho one eight eight five three seven
- 19:25Speaker 2: seven six National Blueberry Day, I love blueberries, absolutely love them.
- 19:33Speaker 2: They're great by themselves. On top of chocolate ice cream
- 19:39Speaker 2: or great Champagne, not chocolate vanilla ice cream or delicious Champagne.
- 19:44Speaker 2: I was thinking of something else. Oh, simply lemonade, blueberry
- 19:49Speaker 2: and Tito's with a splash of club soda. Excellent tech.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Back in a second. M hm h.
- 20:29Speaker 3: Off the wackle, Off the wackle.
- 20:37Speaker 2: That's a that should be a play right there, right.
- 20:41Speaker 3: Off the wackle.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I love it.
- 20:46Speaker 3: Off the wackle.
- 20:48Speaker 2: I found a new favorite.
- 20:50Speaker 3: They break you and then Benji ob and spank you.

- 22:26Speaker 2: I'd like for you to rank your top five teams
- 22:28Speaker 2: in the SEC for twenty twenty six one through five.
- 22:33Speaker 2: Who are the best team? I mean, I know Mississippi
- 22:35Speaker 2: State's I can be in this Arkansas or South Carolina
- 22:39Speaker 2: or Kentucky or all Burner Vanderbilt. But but you know
- 22:48Speaker 2: you're gonna have a You're gonna have some like clusters
- 22:51Speaker 2: of teams, you know. And so the question is can
- 22:56Speaker 2: anybody go ten and two? How many nine and threes
- 23:01Speaker 2: will you have and how many eight and fours will
- 23:03Speaker 2: you have from the top teams Because with the added
- 23:09Speaker 2: conference game and the mandate mandated non conference power for game.
- 23:15Speaker 2: It's about to get dicey and crazy for for everybody.
- 23:21Speaker 2: But yeah, who who do you have as far as
- 23:23Speaker 2: your top five teams in the SEC this year? You know,
- 23:32Speaker 2: Georgia one for me, l s U two for me.
- 23:37Speaker 2: Then it gets blurry between Ole Miss, Bama, and Texas,
- 23:41Speaker 2: And I think you could go either way, three, four, five, Uh,
- 23:46Speaker 2: shuffle them in and out. You know, Bama's d is
- 23:50Speaker 2: going to be significantly better. Uh, Texas will take a
- 23:55Speaker 2: back seat. I'm sorry you step back on defense. Uh.
- 23:59Speaker 2: And again that doesn't mean that they can't be good. Uh,
- 24:01Speaker 2: they just won't be what they have been. And then
- 24:05Speaker 2: Old Miss lost their greatest head coach of all time
- 24:08Speaker 2: in football. So while Kiffen stockpiled talent and built the
- 24:15Speaker 2: model and has left left the program super healthy, you know,
- 24:21Speaker 2: John David Baker is not laying Kiffen and nor will
- 24:25Speaker 2: he ever be. But yeah, so that's that's what we're
- 24:31Speaker 2: we're looking at. And and we've seen, you know the
- 24:36Speaker 2: last couple of years, if you had an easy schedule,
- 24:39Speaker 2: I mean you were in the catbird seat, and and
- 24:42Speaker 2: all the teams really are opening up with cupcakes except
- 24:48Speaker 2: Old Miss and l s U Is that is that fair?
- 24:55Speaker 2: I mean Auburn's playing Baylor. Yeah, uh may a game
- 25:00Speaker 2: for them. It may be. I mean Auburn's got some players,
- 25:07Speaker 2: I can promise you that, and they were. They were
- 25:10Speaker 2: within a whisker of winning the last two years. All
- 25:12Speaker 2: those games they gave up in the second half. Some
- 25:14Speaker 2: of them they were up double digits. Weird. So it's
- 25:17Speaker 2: not like they were blown out in the first eight
- 25:20Speaker 2: minutes of the game and not competitive those two years
- 25:24Speaker 2: with Freeze. I know they didn't get the wins, but
- 25:27Speaker 2: I mean they were they they couldn't generate anything at
- 25:30Speaker 2: times on offense, and yet darkn and the defense would
- 25:32Speaker 2: keep them in. But did they lose like seven ball
- 25:34Speaker 2: games by one possession? I think so? Something crazy. Yeah,
- 25:38Speaker 2: it was a couple of years back. And that's where
- 25:41Speaker 2: kif then made hay this past year. He you know,
- 25:43Speaker 2: he won all his close games, and those that were
- 25:49Speaker 2: that close game against Arkansas, close game against Kentucky, close
- 25:52Speaker 2: game against Florida. You know he was just you rip
- 25:57Speaker 2: off those those wins and you all of a sudden
- 26:05Speaker 2: end up in the college football player all great. That
- 26:08Speaker 2: Auburn Baylor game is an Auburn six and a half
- 26:10Speaker 2: open spread. That sounds about right, isn't it? In It
- 26:17Speaker 2: isn't that in Atlanta? I think it is. And that's
- 26:25Speaker 2: you know, Auburn will still go even though they haven't won.
- 26:29Speaker 2: I know, war Eagle Rich was like, you know, hey,
- 26:33Speaker 2: it's been five six miserable seasons since Gus Mausan. You know,
- 26:39Speaker 2: you get cute and you run a coach who's beat
- 26:41Speaker 2: Saban three times and played for a national championship and
- 26:44Speaker 2: lost with you know, fifteen seconds on the clock and
- 26:48Speaker 2: things like that, and now we'll see what Alex golish,
- 26:52Speaker 2: what's crazy is they don't ever stop recruiting. Well, I
- 26:56Speaker 2: mean they've still ripped through a transfer glass and a
- 27:00Speaker 2: high school class and and so on. I mean again
- 27:04Speaker 2: there the will power and commitment that they have win
- 27:08Speaker 2: or lose is is impressive, which got I got taken
- 27:14Speaker 2: it back. But I about one by our text, which
- 27:16Speaker 2: I actually like, like his rankings. Oh you forgot You've
- 27:20Speaker 2: got to have A and M. You don't have A
- 27:21Speaker 2: and M in your top five? Mm hmmm, playoff team.
- 27:27Speaker 2: I don't think so, No, I don't. I don't think
- 27:32Speaker 2: I do. But let me look at their schedule. Uh,
- 27:34Speaker 2: and see how if it looks delicious. Oh, that's that's
- 27:40Speaker 2: it's not that is it's pretty It is pretty manageable. Okay,
- 27:45Speaker 2: as manageable as these schedules are going to get right
- 27:48Speaker 2: with the ninth conference game. So let's jump into A
- 27:51Speaker 2: and M for a second. And uh do they play?
- 27:56Speaker 2: Oh they're weird. They don't play either one of our
- 27:59Speaker 2: teams this year. Yeah, that's pretty darn manageable. Those first
- 28:03Speaker 2: three games they should be three to zero and then
- 28:05Speaker 2: they should win four or five. I don't think they
- 28:07Speaker 2: go to LSU and win. But before we get into that,
- 28:10Speaker 2: your SEC insider hit this morning is brought to you
- 28:14Speaker 2: by Total Transportation of Mississippi. Good morning. If you woke
- 28:18Speaker 2: up today dreading your job, I've got something for you.
- 28:21Speaker 2: Total Transportation of Mississippi is hiring right now. You can
- 28:26Speaker 2: hit the road, see the country and get paid doing
- 28:30Speaker 2: it with competitive pay tootal ms dot com, full benefits,
- 28:35Speaker 2: total ms dot com and consistent home time total ms
- 28:41Speaker 2: dot com. This isn't just a job, it's a reset.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Go to totalms dot com and come join the home
- 28:50Speaker 2: team powered by Total Transportation of Mississippi. They're offering nationwide
- 28:57Speaker 2: and regional routes for solo and team drivers. Applial line
- 29:02Speaker 2: front page, tootal ms dot com. Now back in the
- 29:06Speaker 2: A and M real quick because Mississippi State Ole miss
- 29:09Speaker 2: did play them a lot when they joined the league
- 29:11Speaker 2: because they were in the West. We went through the
- 29:13Speaker 2: whole Johnny Manziel manziel Mania and then Mississippi State kept
- 29:19Speaker 2: them the last couple of years. So they go Missouri State,
- 29:24Speaker 2: Arizona State, Kentucky, all at home to start the year.
- 29:31Speaker 2: I don't leave Texas for a while, and yeah, not
- 29:35Speaker 2: until the fourth game when they go to LSU. Then
- 29:38Speaker 2: they come back home against Arkansas at Missouri's manageable the
- 29:42Speaker 2: Citadel at home. So I mean, at this point, you
- 29:47Speaker 2: could be six and one if you win at Missouri.
- 29:50Speaker 2: I don't think you're winning at LSU. Now You've got
- 29:55Speaker 2: either the same amount of talent or damn nearer than LSU.
- 30:00Speaker 2: So it's not like it's this big disparity, you know,
- 30:05Speaker 2: talent disparity between A and M. And but I don't
- 30:09Speaker 2: love what Elko did as far as replacing his coordinators,
- 30:13Speaker 2: but he's a good coach. And then after the Citadel
- 30:18Speaker 2: they go to Bawn. It gets a little tougher. They
- 30:19Speaker 2: go to BAMA at South Carolina Tennessee at home, at
- 30:27Speaker 2: Oklahoma Texas at home on that Friday of Thanksgiving. That'll
- 30:34Speaker 2: be a big one. So eight and a half wins
- 30:38Speaker 2: in Vegas one two, three, four, five six. Let me
- 30:45Speaker 2: go through that again. One two, three, four, five six seven.
- 30:52Speaker 2: So they've got a path to nine and then they've
- 30:55Speaker 2: got a path to seven or eight. Yeah, at LSU,
- 31:01Speaker 2: at Bama at Oklahoma Texas at home. But then some
- 31:07Speaker 2: of the other spots are really good. They got to
- 31:09Speaker 2: make a early. Like I said, they got to win
- 31:11Speaker 2: six or seven. You win six or seven, you'll be
- 31:14Speaker 2: ranked in the top five and you could be going
- 31:17Speaker 2: into Alabamaabama may have one loss, maybe two top five matchup,
- 31:26Speaker 2: yeah it could be or top ten. Yeah sure. Yeah.
- 31:30Speaker 2: That Bama A and M game October twenty fourth could
- 31:33Speaker 2: be wild and Bama will have not had a they
- 31:40Speaker 2: will have played eight games. That will be their eighth
- 31:45Speaker 2: game in a row before having their week off, and
- 31:50Speaker 2: they will have played Georgia at home and at Tennessee.
- 31:54Speaker 2: Going into the A and M game being their eighth
- 31:57Speaker 2: game without a by lines up for them. Then they Yeah,
- 32:02Speaker 2: that's not bad. Yeah, and A and M will have
- 32:06Speaker 2: Oh they will not have either. That will be their
- 32:09Speaker 2: eighth game, don't. They don't have a bye like Texas
- 32:12Speaker 2: has an early buye Oklahoma, Old Miss. Yeah, those are
- 32:22Speaker 2: the first buyes that I see in game week five,
- 32:27Speaker 2: Old Miss week five, Oklahoma week five, Texas week five.
- 32:34Speaker 2: Bar two says, you want to hold it as long
- 32:36Speaker 2: as you can, So that's not ideal. You'd rather have
- 32:39Speaker 2: it at least week seven. Who would be like South
- 32:43Speaker 2: Carolina Mississippi State's week six, So they're a week after
- 32:48Speaker 2: Old Miss and Oklahoma and Texas. A lot of them
- 32:51Speaker 2: are late October twenty fourth and October thirty first, it
- 32:56Speaker 2: looks like to me are the bulk of the buys
- 33:00Speaker 2: teams getting eight and nine games into the season before
- 33:05Speaker 2: before getting a bye. Yeah, and then you get healthy
- 33:09Speaker 2: and try to make your four game well, you try
- 33:13Speaker 2: to get healthy and try to make your four game run.
- 33:15Speaker 2: And this is just another repercussion from the ninth game. No,
- 33:21Speaker 2: I think you know, I don't know how. I don't
- 33:23Speaker 2: think it has anything to do with the ninth game
- 33:25Speaker 2: because buys or buys, sure, but I was talking about
- 33:28Speaker 2: them being that late. Well, you know, I don't know
- 33:31Speaker 2: how that's done. I just I know I'm looking here.
- 33:34Speaker 2: Nobody has one until week five, and that's ole Miss,
- 33:38Speaker 2: Oklahoma and Texas because Oklahoma and Texas played that next
- 33:44Speaker 2: week in the Whole Fair and Dallas and Cotton Bowl
- 33:49Speaker 2: and all of that. So that's interesting. You got Texas
- 33:53Speaker 2: for the first time in a while play in Oklahoma
- 33:56Speaker 2: and A and M in the same season, and A
- 34:00Speaker 2: and M play in Oklahoma and Texas and they'll play
- 34:03Speaker 2: them back to back at the end of the season. So,
- 34:07Speaker 2: like I said, A and M schedule is front loaded.
- 34:13Speaker 2: The back ends brutal. Yeah, you gotta win six or seven,
- 34:19Speaker 2: if not seven of eight to get where you want
- 34:26Speaker 2: to go. Damn, Bandy's gonna start well. In C State
- 34:31Speaker 2: has CJ. Wilson, they like him at quarterback. Bandy's gonna
- 34:35Speaker 2: take a step back because even Mississippi State, I mean,
- 34:39Speaker 2: that's that's probably their best opportunity to win a home
- 34:41Speaker 2: game conference and then Auburn, Yeah, Bandy, then Auburn. How
- 34:48Speaker 2: about Vanderbilt playing Austin p Delaware and then n C
- 34:53Speaker 2: State to start the year. Ole Miss is the one
- 34:57Speaker 2: that plays three tough teams in the first four weeks
- 35:00Speaker 2: Louisville neutral field. But they pull a quarterback who's never
- 35:04Speaker 2: He's from Ohio State, was you know, highly thought of,
- 35:11Speaker 2: maybe good, but hadn't played any he transferred into because
- 35:14Speaker 2: Julian's saying, is this the starter at Ohio State. So
- 35:20Speaker 2: when you look at Lincoln con Holts, he's a transfer
- 35:26Speaker 2: from Ohio State who it looks like will get the
- 35:30Speaker 2: job at Louisville. But they also added this kid from
- 35:36Speaker 2: West Georgia who's played more it looks like, and I
- 35:44Speaker 2: think that's it Widener. So I don't know who Old
- 35:48Speaker 2: miss will face. They think it's going to be cond Holts.
- 35:53Speaker 2: But David Widener, David Widener played better in the spring game.
- 36:03Speaker 2: Old boy kind holds. Is he six foot five five
- 36:08Speaker 2: good looking quarterback? David Widner David Wider. How many years
- 36:13Speaker 2: did he play it or how many games did he
- 36:16Speaker 2: play and or start at West Georgia? Oh he was,
- 36:20Speaker 2: he was, he did it. Let's see the majority. Oh really, yeah,
- 36:24Speaker 2: he's played a lot of ball. Okay, he played every
- 36:27Speaker 2: game in twenty five regular season? Yeah? Oh yeah, so
- 36:30Speaker 2: he said me he played a lot of ball. They
- 36:31Speaker 2: didn't throw it a whole whole lot. He's a runner.
- 36:35Speaker 2: Maybe take off with his leg. He does like to run.
- 36:37Speaker 2: Good God, he's a runner. Wow. This guy on the
- 36:41Speaker 2: text line has Old Miss number one okay six to
- 36:45Speaker 2: OHO one area code. Uh, Old Miss one, Texas two,
- 36:51Speaker 2: Georgia three A and M four LSU five. Okay, I
- 36:58Speaker 2: think LSU is low. I don't have Ole Miss at
- 37:01Speaker 2: number one above Georgia or l s U.
- 37:06Speaker 3: No.
- 37:07Speaker 2: No, I got Georgia one and LSU two. Now are
- 37:14Speaker 2: you oh, you don't have Baman here? Okay? Are you
- 37:16Speaker 2: assuming that LSU wins that ball game in Oxford? Yeah?
- 37:22Speaker 2: Because if not, then Ole Miss wouldn't need to be
- 37:24Speaker 2: flipped in some of these rankings. Right. Well, I mean
- 37:27Speaker 2: that one game may decide, but that doesn't mean that
- 37:30Speaker 2: the winner is going to finish above whoever loses. It's sure,
- 37:34Speaker 2: m it. You know that day right, you're better Ole
- 37:40Speaker 2: Miss or LSU. But that I don't know that what
- 37:42Speaker 2: you're going to look like as far as look non
- 37:45Speaker 2: conference games six and three is going to be incredible.
- 37:49Speaker 2: Six and three is going to be unbelievable. You're gonna
- 37:53Speaker 2: have some teams finished two and seven and three and six.
- 37:59Speaker 2: Uh how many commerce can a team go seven and
- 38:03Speaker 2: two in the league this year? Can can Is there
- 38:09Speaker 2: a team with the non conference games? Now? Can you
- 38:12Speaker 2: go seven and two? I mean that's staying clean, not
- 38:20Speaker 2: losing anybody really significant to injury. Can you go and better? Yet?
- 38:27Speaker 2: How many teams can go seven and two? Can a
- 38:30Speaker 2: team go eight and one? I doubt it, but it maybe.
- 38:38Speaker 2: So Georgia has a good run until they go to Bama.
- 38:43Speaker 2: Really good run. Okay, Tennessee stayed at home, Western Kentucky
- 38:48Speaker 2: at home, so they get they get two warm up
- 38:50Speaker 2: weeks even though Gunner Stockton's actually played some. Last year
- 38:53Speaker 2: was his first year. Then well I feel like he's
- 38:59Speaker 2: been there for no. Last year was his first year
- 39:05Speaker 2: and I mean first year to play, right, Yeah? Okayah,
- 39:10Speaker 2: And then they go to Arkansas. Ryan Silverfield for our listeners,
- 39:15Speaker 2: won a bunch of games at Memphis, took the Arkansas job,
- 39:19Speaker 2: all right. Then they got Oklahoma at home. I'm talking
- 39:22Speaker 2: about Georgia stay with me, Vanderbilt at home, step back
- 39:26Speaker 2: without Diego Pavia, and then they go to Bama. Man,
- 39:31Speaker 2: that ain't too shabby if you're looking for the eight
- 39:33Speaker 2: and one. Yeah, so you can drive me in Georgea's
- 39:36Speaker 2: toughest game is at bamat at Ole Miss right, wow,
- 39:40Speaker 2: at Bama at Ole Miss So Gunner stock and is
- 39:45Speaker 2: twenty two years old, see twenty two, twenty two years old,
- 39:49Speaker 2: and he's been at Georgia Bulldog since twenty two he's
- 39:54Speaker 2: waited his time. Well, so yeah, because what's his name
- 40:02Speaker 2: transferred to Miami, right, Dorsey? What's his name? Bet Carson
- 40:06Speaker 2: batt I like Ken Dorsey. Ken Dorsey was like nineteen
- 40:09Speaker 2: ninety eight or something or two thousand and one or whatever.
- 40:13Speaker 2: It was, nineteen ninety four. McGahee, McGahee love that guy. Yeah. God,
- 40:21Speaker 2: they were one of the first teams I got to
- 40:22Speaker 2: really play with on video games. Well that was a
- 40:25Speaker 2: great team talking about the one team. Yeah, okay, go
- 40:29Speaker 2: yeah Winslow junior. Yeah, the defense was all right. I
- 40:34Speaker 2: guess that was when they got host in the in
- 40:38Speaker 2: the National Championship ninety one. Oh okay, yeah, okay. Rice
- 40:42Speaker 2: Clare may have got hurt in that and McGahee got
- 40:45Speaker 2: hurt in the championship game, so it was yeah. Clarette
- 40:48Speaker 2: was several years later. Oh man, I remember living that.
- 40:54Speaker 2: That was like a big deal where people got hot
- 40:56Speaker 2: and bothered on that on that story. Yeah you were,
- 40:58Speaker 2: you were on air for that ight, Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 41:02Speaker 2: that's a layered deal. I hadn't. We went way over
- 41:07Speaker 2: my head when I was that age. So you kind
- 41:09Speaker 2: of take this thing and you know, what can you
- 41:11Speaker 2: do in September? Yeah right, I mean you know what,
- 41:14Speaker 2: what what can we? Can we go four? And oh?
- 41:18Speaker 2: Can we go three and one? You know, everybody's looking
- 41:21Speaker 2: at I'm talking about whoever, Georgia, Florida, Ole, miss Oklahoma.
- 41:25Speaker 2: People are looking going can we go four? And oh,
- 41:28Speaker 2: can we go three and one? Because you know, you
- 41:32Speaker 2: manage September and then you turn the page. October third
- 41:35Speaker 2: will be your first game in October and then all
- 41:38Speaker 2: of a sudden, I mean we're loaded up with conference
- 41:40Speaker 2: games right.
- 41:43Speaker 1: Now.
- 41:43Speaker 2: How many conference games do they play in the COVID year? Ten?
- 41:47Speaker 2: And this is how many? Nine? Okay? I know, well usually,
- 41:51Speaker 2: I mean because you know, we say COVID year with
- 41:52Speaker 2: an asterisk, no doubt, because of the ten conference game,
- 41:55Speaker 2: no question. I see where you're going. You make a
- 41:57Speaker 2: good point. Yeah, that was ten conference games. It was
- 42:01Speaker 2: absolutely brutal, brutal. Now I'm glad they played they should
- 42:07Speaker 2: have played. Nobody should have not played, and they it
- 42:10Speaker 2: was fun. I mean like we got into it. I
- 42:13Speaker 2: think we actually started September twenty sixth, if I'm somewhere
- 42:17Speaker 2: in there so they remember. They moved it back several
- 42:20Speaker 2: weeks getting their ducks in a row, and then we
- 42:23Speaker 2: played ten conference games. Well not everybody, but most there
- 42:27Speaker 2: were some nine conference game teams that year. Remember everybody
- 42:34Speaker 2: thought that Jim Bow and A and M got screwed.
- 42:37Speaker 2: They went eight and one. They had a game called
- 42:42Speaker 2: I don't remember exactly what went down covid cod. Remember
- 42:48Speaker 2: Leech wouldn't cancel the game. He got down to forty
- 42:51Speaker 2: five or forty six players throughout that season, and you
- 42:57Speaker 2: know they wouldn't they went knocked out of any of them.
- 43:01Speaker 2: They were that low. Yeah, yep. He went to Georgia
- 43:09Speaker 2: and that was a one possession game all night in
- 43:12Speaker 2: twenty twenty against and this is when Kirby had you know,
- 43:17Speaker 2: that kind of era, no doubt talent. Okay, this is
- 43:21Speaker 2: not the last couple of years where everybody's been decimated
- 43:25Speaker 2: and it was a one possession game in the fourth quarter.
- 43:30Speaker 2: Crazy forty five. I know we are the out of
- 43:34Speaker 2: bounds show we're powered by total transportation of Mississippi Total
