- 0:29What's going on, everybody?
- 0:30Welcome to the Monday night
- 0:31version of Sunday Night CrossFit Talk.
- 0:34It's going to be a little
- 0:34bit abbreviated tonight,
- 0:35but we're going to wrap up
- 0:36the CrossFit Games Masters
- 0:38competition that happened this weekend.
- 0:40Hit a couple news notes just
- 0:42to get you our normal
- 0:43weekly show for the week.
- 0:45But it's Monday night.
- 0:46We're back from the road.
- 0:48Some of us are pretty tired.
- 0:49I know I am.
- 0:50But we want to wrap up
- 0:53everything for everybody
- 0:55and kind of talk about the weekend.
- 0:58But before we jump into that,
- 1:02it's kind of a riff,
- 1:04but it's not in a negative direction.
- 1:07So I want a couple minutes
- 1:09to talk about how when we
- 1:11go to these competitions,
- 1:13and especially on the big stage, we...
- 1:16We get wrapped up in the
- 1:18minutia of the competition.
- 1:21I do it.
- 1:22Carolyn does it.
- 1:23Jamie does it.
- 1:24And we say, oh my gosh,
- 1:25the judges missed this.
- 1:27And oh my gosh,
- 1:28the programming could be that.
- 1:30But I want to point out that
- 1:31we had four hundred and
- 1:32fifty athletes in Birmingham, Alabama,
- 1:36all thirty five and older,
- 1:38showing the world what
- 1:40CrossFit can do for people.
- 1:44We had people seventy plus.
- 1:47doing muscle ups.
- 1:48We had,
- 1:49we had sixty five plus women
- 1:51ripping off muscle ups like
- 1:54it was so cool to see these
- 1:57beast athletes take this
- 1:59methodology and show what
- 2:01could be done with it.
- 2:04And so many people there
- 2:05give it getting their first opportunity,
- 2:07just like Jamie,
- 2:08to go to the CrossFit Games
- 2:10and to soak in this this opportunity.
- 2:14We all suffered a tragedy four weeks ago,
- 2:17and this showed us what
- 2:18CrossFit is really about.
- 2:22And what that means is that
- 2:25it's something special.
- 2:26It's something that we should hold on to.
- 2:28It is a step forward.
- 2:31It felt a little bit normal
- 2:33this weekend because people
- 2:36were doing amazing things
- 2:38and showing what all is possible.
- 2:41And I just wanted to take a
- 2:44moment to applaud
- 2:47everybody for doing this.
- 2:49Yes, things went wrong.
- 2:50Yes, things could have been better.
- 2:52This was the first year
- 2:53people had this opportunity
- 2:55to put this on and it
- 2:57wasn't going to fly
- 2:59seamlessly out the gate.
- 3:00But I'll tell you what,
- 3:02running three floors pretty
- 3:04much on schedule with one
- 3:06minor ten minute delay
- 3:08throughout the entire
- 3:09weekend is pretty freaking phenomenal.
- 3:13We can nitpick other things,
- 3:15but four hundred fifty
- 3:16athletes got to show what they can do.
- 3:18And we've got to celebrate that.
- 3:20And we've got to move forward.
- 3:22And and because we cannot lose this.
- 3:27CrossFit is too important to all of us.
- 3:29as a sport as a methodology
- 3:31to lose it and so I just
- 3:34wanted to point out it was
- 3:35freaking awesome and I
- 3:37don't know how many dms I
- 3:38got from people saying it
- 3:40was so cool that I actually
- 3:41got to sit down and watch
- 3:43the masters I've never
- 3:45really been able to do that
- 3:47because it's either been
- 3:48midweek or while the elites
- 3:50are going on and I haven't
- 3:52been able to do that but
- 3:53this weekend I got to sit
- 3:54down and enjoy it all
- 3:57and uh I think that's really
- 3:59freaking cool yeah how
- 4:02about this comment from
- 4:03lynn so lynn says uh yep
- 4:08scott it finally convinced
- 4:09my dad to join crossfit at
- 4:12he was cheering for joe
- 4:13ames the whole time so cool
- 4:17so cool right that's what it's about
- 4:22What I loved is the fight
- 4:24from the fifty five plus
- 4:26athletes saying that they
- 4:27thought they scaled it back too much.
- 4:30They wanted the opportunity
- 4:31to show what they could do.
- 4:33And I thought that was.
- 4:36But they all said like, hey,
- 4:38we voiced our concerns and
- 4:40we're cool this year.
- 4:42It's the first year they're doing it.
- 4:44We'll learn from it.
- 4:45Maybe next year we move a
- 4:46little bit closer to what
- 4:48we think we can accomplish
- 4:50because they want to do
- 4:51handstand pushups.
- 4:52They want to do handstand walks.
- 4:55They want to at least have
- 4:57them at the end of a
- 4:57workout to show them as a
- 5:00separator and a differentiator.
- 5:02That's fair.
- 5:05I think the end of the
- 5:06workout is where you put
- 5:08those higher skills for sure for them.
- 5:09Yeah.
- 5:11Yeah.
- 5:11They did that with the bar
- 5:12muscle ups yesterday in the
- 5:13sixty five plus where it
- 5:15was all chest to bar until the last four.
- 5:18And then they had to do four
- 5:19bar muscle ups and everybody,
- 5:20the people that had it got
- 5:22to show it off.
- 5:23And the the crowd was so
- 5:26loud when the sixty five
- 5:28plusers were hitting bar muscle ups.
- 5:29It was so cool.
- 5:33So that's my little piece
- 5:35that I just wanted to get out.
- 5:37Just great.
- 5:38What happened this weekend
- 5:39and help us move forward
- 5:41because I think it was a
- 5:42pretty cool show.
- 5:48Yeah.
- 5:49Larry Young says people always complain.
- 5:51I thought it was great.
- 5:54um hell of a performance by
- 5:56jamie this weekend wish
- 5:57that there would have been
- 5:58a true long chipper for her
- 5:59to smash instead of one of
- 6:01the strength tests true but
- 6:04she she faced the tests
- 6:05that were given to her and
- 6:07she fought like hell
- 6:08through all of them and
- 6:10she's the fourth fittest
- 6:11forty year old in the world
- 6:15which is pretty awesome uh
- 6:18cory leonard I'm yelling at
- 6:20my tv when the
- 6:26Crystal,
- 6:27this was my husband's fourth year
- 6:28at the games,
- 6:29and this was by far our best
- 6:30overall experience.
- 6:31It was awesome.
- 6:32That's great to hear.
- 6:33I'm not going to lie.
- 6:38I had mixed reviews in the
- 6:39back as I was hanging out
- 6:40with the athletes.
- 6:41Yeah.
- 6:42Some good, some bad.
- 6:43I would say the majority was good.
- 6:45The majority was good.
- 6:46And even those that say bad
- 6:48said there were some good
- 6:49elements from this that they took away.
- 6:54And I think Dex put it
- 6:55really well in his story.
- 6:58The pageantry was not there from the games,
- 7:02right?
- 7:03But the way it was run,
- 7:06as efficiently as it was run,
- 7:09was pretty good.
- 7:10The three floors gave people
- 7:12the opportunity to go back
- 7:14and forth and watch
- 7:15different workouts
- 7:16throughout the day and not
- 7:17be stuck watching the same
- 7:19thing over and over again.
- 7:20They all said the crowds...
- 7:23Those are the biggest crowds
- 7:24they've seen at an event
- 7:25because in Madison,
- 7:27many people didn't come in to watch them.
- 7:30And here they had crowds
- 7:31around every floor throughout the day.
- 7:38Yeah,
- 7:38I think it's only going to get bigger.
- 7:40Like this was the first year that...
- 7:43They separated,
- 7:44and I think there's some
- 7:46learning stuff that I'm
- 7:47sure will come with this,
- 7:48but I expect it only to grow from here.
- 7:51And I think a lot of people
- 7:53in our community got the
- 7:54chance to watch the true
- 7:56representation of the
- 7:57Masters this weekend,
- 7:57where in normal years,
- 8:00a lot of them would have
- 8:02taken a break during the
- 8:03Masters events and then
- 8:04gone shopping and stuff like that.
- 8:07Um,
- 8:07so while the experience for the
- 8:09athletes may have been
- 8:10different in the sense that
- 8:12they're not competing on
- 8:13the same floor as, you know,
- 8:15this and that person, I think, um,
- 8:18the growth of this can
- 8:19actually be better in the long run.
- 8:23Yeah,
- 8:23I think if you had an opening ceremony,
- 8:25some things like that to
- 8:26add some of the pageantry back to this.
- 8:31But again, it's year one.
- 8:32It's three,
- 8:33four weeks after the tragic
- 8:35event of the CrossFit Games.
- 8:38They had to make tough
- 8:39decisions coming into this.
- 8:41But I think that the proof
- 8:41of concept is now there.
- 8:43And maybe you get more sponsors.
- 8:46Maybe you don't run the
- 8:47teens and the masters on
- 8:48the same weekend in different places.
- 8:51either run them in the same
- 8:52place or find two different
- 8:55dates to run them.
- 8:57Um, I think that's,
- 9:00that was a lesson learned for sure.
- 9:03Um, Linda Jerry, uh,
- 9:06and Jamie on that bike,
- 9:07you better give tips, girl hurt.
- 9:11Yeah.
- 9:16Craig asked, did you talk to Dave?
- 9:18I did not see Dave.
- 9:20Dave came in late on Friday.
- 9:23I had left to come back and
- 9:25do the wrap up show where
- 9:28Ellie was doing the
- 9:29interviews that evening.
- 9:31I did talk to Don Fall, which was great.
- 9:35Great interaction there.
- 9:37I talked to Becky Harsh a
- 9:38lot over the weekend.
- 9:40She's an amazing person and
- 9:43great perspective.
- 9:46But it was cool to see
- 9:46CrossFit HQ there
- 9:47supporting the Masters athletes.
- 9:51Yeah.
- 9:51I saw Dave twice, and I saw Baz twice.
- 9:57Yeah.
- 9:57Yeah,
- 9:58I had a long talk with Boz because we
- 10:00talked at the games and it
- 10:01was nice to catch up and
- 10:03see where he's at.
- 10:06So that was cool, too.
- 10:08Larry Young,
- 10:08thank you so much for the super chat.
- 10:10Four ninety nine.
- 10:12Jamie's power clean
- 10:13impressed the shit out of me.
- 10:17Same here.
- 10:17You crushed that.
- 10:18Ninety percent.
- 10:22That's crazy.
- 10:23Yeah.
- 10:23Cause like I was thinking
- 10:24that you were going to
- 10:25maybe hesitate before picking it up,
- 10:27but you were,
- 10:27you were aggressive in that
- 10:28workout and you went for it.
- 10:29It was, it was good.
- 10:31Thank you.
- 10:34So Aaron Frazier says,
- 10:35too many athletes to do
- 10:36both at the same venue.
- 10:38This is what I'll say, Aaron.
- 10:39They ran a team competition
- 10:41at the exact same time that
- 10:43had way more athletes than
- 10:44would be the teen competitors.
- 10:47You move that team competition out,
- 10:50the teens in,
- 10:51you probably have less athletes,
- 10:53can use the same number of floors,
- 10:55and you need less warm-up
- 10:58space because the teams are
- 10:59taking up a lot of the warm-up space.
- 11:02because it was two and three person teams.
- 11:11Yeah.
- 11:11I feel like they bring a lot
- 11:12of people to the party too.
- 11:14It did.
- 11:14And I feel like there was a
- 11:15lot of like positive
- 11:17comments and feedback about
- 11:19that team aspect.
- 11:23I personally just don't feel like
- 11:27If this is supposed to be our games,
- 11:29that's the place for it.
- 11:30Like,
- 11:30I think that should be at the legends
- 11:32in December.
- 11:34And that's where you highlight the teams.
- 11:35And that's more of like the sh you know,
- 11:38that's like the growing event, right?
- 11:40Like you go there to get
- 11:42experience like that.
- 11:43I don't know that you should,
- 11:44and I don't want to say water down the,
- 11:46our games with this, but like,
- 11:49it kind of felt like you were just trying,
- 11:51it was almost like a money grab or like,
- 11:53let's just throw more
- 11:54people into this to like, make it bigger.
- 11:57My optimistic guy says it
- 11:59was a way at a safety net.
- 12:02They weren't confident in
- 12:04what the turnout would be.
- 12:05So let's have this team
- 12:06competition to make sure we
- 12:07have X number more people
- 12:10in the building.
- 12:11But I think it showed that,
- 12:15that there would be a good crowd.
- 12:20the more people that watch
- 12:21it and the more people that
- 12:21get engaged to it like you
- 12:23saw amazing like will morad
- 12:25ain't far off the elites I
- 12:27mean he's he just made it
- 12:29last year that's seven
- 12:31forty one in the standard
- 12:33was an epic performance
- 12:36yeah um cory leonard says
- 12:43it felt like a test run to
- 12:44see if masters team comp is feasible
- 12:48I don't think it was really
- 12:48run like a games team event.
- 12:52I think it really was just a
- 12:53safety net to get more,
- 12:55more bodies in the building.
- 13:00The one drawback I will say
- 13:01to that is they did take up
- 13:02a lot of the warm-up area.
- 13:05And when they were back there,
- 13:05it was chaotic.
- 13:07And the people fighting for
- 13:11the CrossFit Games should
- 13:12have had preferential
- 13:13treatment to the warm-up equipment.
- 13:16And that was not happening
- 13:17in what I observed.
- 13:19Um,
- 13:20and so that if you're bringing back a
- 13:23teams for this,
- 13:24they need to have a
- 13:24separate warmup area or a
- 13:26section to their own so
- 13:28that the elite athletes can,
- 13:31can get their warmups in.
- 13:36Yeah.
- 13:37Um, so yeah.
- 13:39I mean,
- 13:39I saw your show yesterday and
- 13:41talking about the diluted, um,
- 13:43volunteers, everything, and,
- 13:45and clearly equipment was a
- 13:47factor and was spread out amongst events.
- 13:51And that was noticeable even
- 13:52in the warmup area.
- 13:53Um,
- 13:55Not having,
- 13:56and I know rowers weren't in
- 13:57the competition and maybe
- 13:58it was an equipment thing.
- 14:00And the only cardio machine
- 14:04there was the bike.
- 14:05And when it was on the floor,
- 14:06there was only two in the
- 14:07background to be used.
- 14:08Like it was like,
- 14:10that's not good for
- 14:12hundreds of people trying
- 14:12to warm up in the back.
- 14:14Or cool down.
- 14:16Yes.
- 14:17And it wouldn't be my first
- 14:18piece of equipment that I
- 14:19want to go on to.
- 14:20I know.
- 14:20Yeah.
- 14:23They never have the bike erg too.
- 14:25Like it's always the echo bike.
- 14:26And I'm like, just give me a bike erg.
- 14:28I just want to pedal nice and light.
- 14:33So Saturday night show,
- 14:35we went all through those events.
- 14:38We finished up with the final event,
- 14:40which was a heavy dumbbell thruster,
- 14:45single arm, and bar muscle ups.
- 14:50Yep.
- 14:51Okay.
- 14:52I don't, I can't remember the rep scheme.
- 14:54It's all a blur in my head.
- 14:55Eight, twelve, sixteen.
- 14:56Yep.
- 14:56Eight, twelve, sixteen.
- 14:58And Bob and Joe have said
- 14:59that they like ascending
- 15:01rep schemes as opposed to descending.
- 15:05What are your feelings about that?
- 15:07It's fine.
- 15:09They do seem to like that.
- 15:11It does get programmed a lot like that.
- 15:12And it
- 15:14It can make it more of a
- 15:16test to see like who can
- 15:18hold on instead of like racing at the end,
- 15:23which I kind of like.
- 15:25I think it creates more
- 15:26separation oftentimes when
- 15:27there's an ascending rep scheme.
- 15:29If you have that bigger set at the start,
- 15:31some of the people that can
- 15:32hang will do at the start.
- 15:34And as they get fatigued,
- 15:35those smaller sets just help them.
- 15:38Being able to stay unbroken
- 15:39on that last set or minimal
- 15:41rest is where the game is played.
- 15:43And I think it's important
- 15:45to put ascending rep
- 15:48schemes in your training or at a comp.
- 15:52I think it's good.
- 15:53love that event I thought it
- 15:54was um fun to watch there
- 15:56was people that had major
- 15:58like they just hit major
- 15:59walls in that event and um
- 16:02you saw people go down the
- 16:04singles on the bar muscle
- 16:05ups failing bar muscle ups
- 16:06um it was yeah I mean as a
- 16:10last event that's what you
- 16:10want so jamie I talked to
- 16:14you right before this event
- 16:17you were less than confident
- 16:20And was that more coming off
- 16:22the front squat,
- 16:23which is not your strength
- 16:25and having to sleep on that overnight?
- 16:28Or were you truly like,
- 16:30because you crushed the event, right?
- 16:35There's not like,
- 16:36so you were talking on the
- 16:37show and you were like,
- 16:39I think you even said like,
- 16:41I mean, Carolyn corrected you,
- 16:42but you were like, well,
- 16:43Carolyn Klutz kind of has a chance.
- 16:47There's a chance, right?
- 16:49If she didn't... That's untrue.
- 16:52I don't know if you looked at the points,
- 16:53but last place got forty-three points.
- 16:57Oh.
- 16:58So they didn't adjust the
- 16:59scoring fully to... Right.
- 17:02So... I just... Basically,
- 17:07I kind of knew I had no shot.
- 17:09It didn't...
- 17:11I guess I kind of did,
- 17:12but I really had no shot, right?
- 17:17So did they keep the exact
- 17:19same point and then just
- 17:21took out the last ten or
- 17:23twenty athletes for your division?
- 17:25They took out some,
- 17:26but then you still had that.
- 17:28The worst you got is
- 17:29whatever was a twentieth place,
- 17:31let's say.
- 17:31Yeah, yeah.
- 17:33extremely frustrating because like,
- 17:35I feel like the cut should
- 17:37have been before the front squat.
- 17:38Like you should have earned,
- 17:39you should have had enough
- 17:40fitness to earn to show your strength.
- 17:42And then I would have gotten
- 17:43forty three points in the front squat.
- 17:47And we'd have be having a
- 17:48completely different conversation today.
- 17:51Yeah.
- 17:54Yeah,
- 17:55because you have specialists that are
- 17:58in the field that go in and
- 18:01The semifinals already
- 18:04pushed it that way that it
- 18:06was stronger athletes that made it here.
- 18:08I mean, you can see that just by,
- 18:10I was like third, third,
- 18:11and then going into out of semis, right?
- 18:16Like the semis already
- 18:18tested strength enough.
- 18:20And that's why I was knocked
- 18:22down in my placing,
- 18:23even qualifying for the games.
- 18:25Um, I,
- 18:27I just don't know why they like kept
- 18:28pushing that aspect.
- 18:32here's my here's my big
- 18:33overarching question it's
- 18:34not about this workout but
- 18:36like online qualifiers I've
- 18:38I've hated them forever
- 18:40right and I don't know what
- 18:41the solution is but like
- 18:43but you come in in twenty
- 18:45whatever place from semis
- 18:47haley mario is a backfill
- 18:49in allison stall is a
- 18:51backfill in you all end up
- 18:54as top ten athletes at the
- 18:55games because you're fitter
- 18:57than everyone else
- 19:00What are we missing in the
- 19:01online versions of the
- 19:03qualification that are
- 19:05missing these people?
- 19:06Because we almost missed
- 19:07Haley and Allison even getting in.
- 19:14I would say video review for one.
- 19:18Yeah.
- 19:21And I just think.
- 19:24Haley, I mean, Haley's good.
- 19:26Really?
- 19:27Allison's pretty power output.
- 19:28I denser gymnastics sets,
- 19:31I think still are getting to her,
- 19:32especially coming back postpartum.
- 19:34Um,
- 19:35and I think we saw that in the final
- 19:36event with her.
- 19:38Um, but Haley's great at gymnastics,
- 19:40right?
- 19:40Like she crushed the standard.
- 19:42Um, and I, and I've said this for years,
- 19:45Aaron and I talk about it a
- 19:51like the bigger gymnastics
- 19:53chippers and fitness in a way that like,
- 19:56I mean,
- 19:56there was a ton of CrossFit this weekend,
- 19:58which was great.
- 20:01But I do think like the sport is going,
- 20:03has gone away from that a
- 20:04little bit and they keep
- 20:06trying to push the weights.
- 20:07You saw it with,
- 20:08you saw it with the women
- 20:10getting time capped a lot.
- 20:11Like,
- 20:13Clearly,
- 20:14people aren't fit enough because
- 20:15you haven't pushed that.
- 20:17They can move weight.
- 20:17We saw it in the front squat.
- 20:19They can move a shit ton of weight.
- 20:20They can barely power clean up one eighty,
- 20:22which is my ninety percent
- 20:24when they're fatigued
- 20:25because you don't make them
- 20:26keep showing that you let
- 20:28them be able to rest and
- 20:29hide in these sets of
- 20:30numbers and you don't push
- 20:33the metabolic fitness.
- 20:38You said time caps.
- 20:39I was waiting for Carolyn to
- 20:40blow up again.
- 20:43I felt like I've been
- 20:43negative too much on my, um,
- 20:47programming and the program wasn't,
- 20:49wasn't bad.
- 20:50I liked, I mean,
- 20:51I like nine out of the ten
- 20:52events or personally, like for my,
- 20:55my skills.
- 20:56Um,
- 20:58but just not the echo bike double under
- 21:00one.
- 21:00There, there,
- 21:03there's some tweak ups I
- 21:03would have made in terms of
- 21:04the time caps just to allow
- 21:06more of the female athletes to finish.
- 21:08Um,
- 21:09But I think you're like your
- 21:10games was a different
- 21:11experience than let's say
- 21:12the individual programming
- 21:13where I felt strength
- 21:15wasn't really tested this year as much.
- 21:18But for yours, yeah,
- 21:20you could say that you
- 21:21could have done definitely
- 21:22more metabolic in the games
- 21:26for or longer.
- 21:28That longer time domain was was missing.
- 21:32Yeah.
- 21:32And I get,
- 21:33I get that's going to be hard in
- 21:34a comp this large with this
- 21:36many athletes with three floors.
- 21:38Like I do get that.
- 21:39Like,
- 21:39it's going to be really hard to make
- 21:41a twenty to thirty minute even.
- 21:43I mean,
- 21:43especially like a forty minute
- 21:44workout without doing heats
- 21:47of like one hundred and twenty at a time.
- 21:50Right.
- 21:51And I mean,
- 21:52it'd have to be a big outdoor thing.
- 21:53And that
- 21:54you're not going to do that
- 21:55right now in Birmingham
- 21:57with things that just happened.
- 21:58People are going to complain about safety.
- 22:01So, I mean, yeah, things, they were,
- 22:04their hands were tied a little bit,
- 22:05I would say.
- 22:09so the last workout I
- 22:10thought was one of the best
- 22:10workouts of the weekend um
- 22:12I think it showed a lot um
- 22:14I didn't get to see a lot
- 22:15of it live because I was
- 22:17stuck in the back because I
- 22:18was the only person doing
- 22:20bts um sunday so I was back
- 22:23there a lot um
- 22:26I did get I did hear a lot
- 22:28from the women talking
- 22:30about the time caps carolyn
- 22:31about how like and that
- 22:35they they were told that
- 22:37the only people that tested
- 22:38were men the events and
- 22:41that they felt like it
- 22:43showed in the time caps and
- 22:45that a lot of the women
- 22:46could not finish a lot of the events
- 22:50And,
- 22:51and that makes for a boring race when
- 22:53everybody just finishes on the floor,
- 22:55you know, and at the end of the day,
- 22:57if you want to be a sport,
- 22:58you better be spectator friendly.
- 23:00Like you just, as an athlete, like you,
- 23:02you hope to finish every event, like,
- 23:04you know, on, on the finish mat.
- 23:06Like, it's just frustrating when, you know,
- 23:08out of ten events, let's say half of them,
- 23:12most of the field,
- 23:13three quarters of the field
- 23:14sometimes didn't finish.
- 23:16Um,
- 23:19I just feel like that would
- 23:20be frustrating.
- 23:24I still feel like they
- 23:25missed the mark on the finish lines.
- 23:28Even that last event,
- 23:29why didn't we not run to the middle?
- 23:35Maybe they were scared of
- 23:36people running into each
- 23:37other from both sides.
- 23:39But most people just stop at
- 23:41their finish line.
- 23:43Yeah.
- 23:44I didn't know if people were
- 23:46still standing under the
- 23:47rig because people were
- 23:48just walking around during
- 23:49bar muscle-ups.
- 23:50I didn't know who was done.
- 23:52Yeah, because you could be backed up.
- 23:55You could be hunched over, tired.
- 23:57You're failing or you're resting,
- 23:59and you don't know where
- 24:01you are in the race,
- 24:02plus you don't know what's
- 24:03behind you on the other side of the rig.
- 24:05Lynn says,
- 24:06I can volunteer to be a demo athlete,
- 24:08and those time caps will be very generous,
- 24:10I promise.
- 24:12I even brought up carolyn
- 24:14like carolyn you've been a
- 24:15demo athlete you weren't
- 24:17you were available to run
- 24:19through some workouts if
- 24:20they wanted a demo athlete
- 24:22there were lots of athletes
- 24:23available that could have
- 24:24done that and would have
- 24:27loved the opportunity to to
- 24:29make relationships and
- 24:31those need to be those time
- 24:33caps would need to be set
- 24:35prior though not like um
- 24:37not there like because I'm
- 24:39assuming their schedule is
- 24:40built out you know months
- 24:42in advance and then they
- 24:43would need someone to test
- 24:45the workouts months in
- 24:45advance that they have um
- 24:49but how many people trust
- 24:50in that won't leak
- 24:51available right like you
- 24:54are you don't you're not a
- 24:55part of a training camp you
- 24:57you've been a trusted
- 24:58person from rogue it's from
- 25:00castro all these people why
- 25:03couldn't they have called
- 25:03on you to do that
- 25:06Maybe they'll think about
- 25:07people in the future.
- 25:09It just is hard with all of
- 25:10the people associated with
- 25:14training camps and stuff
- 25:15like that to pick the
- 25:16people to test the workouts
- 25:18that aren't going to give
- 25:21information to people.
- 25:24Larry Young said, I agree,
- 25:25but also very glad we got
- 25:26to see an actual strength
- 25:28test out of ten.
- 25:29Bob said they had a long one,
- 25:31but the facility didn't
- 25:31want that many athletes to
- 25:33do it because they worried
- 25:34about the field.
- 25:41So overall thoughts on the weekend.
- 25:43Jamie, did you have a good experience?
- 25:47Yeah.
- 25:49We're proud of you.
- 25:54Thanks.
- 25:54It was fun seeing you out there.
- 25:56And I love that you give,
- 25:58you lay it all out there
- 26:00and you can tell every single event,
- 26:03regardless of what it is.
- 26:05I always knew where you are
- 26:06because you had the tape shoulder.
- 26:08I was looking for you at the start line.
- 26:10I'm like, Okay, where's Jamie now?
- 26:11Oh, there she is.
- 26:13She is.
- 26:15I don't match my uniform.
- 26:16Well,
- 26:16everyone else is wearing like the
- 26:17same outfit.
- 26:18So yeah,
- 26:19you got to separate yourself there.
- 26:21Jamie brought back the
- 26:22Reebok colors one strip of
- 26:23KT tape at a time.
- 26:28The bionic woman.
- 26:32Carolyn,
- 26:32what was overall thoughts on the weekend?
- 26:34Did you enjoy watching?
- 26:36Yeah, I mean,
- 26:37like I've never been as
- 26:38invested in the Masters
- 26:39division as I was this year.
- 26:43This is by far the most I watch.
- 26:45I got to like really watch
- 26:46and then was following the leaderboard,
- 26:48seeing the switches.
- 26:49And then I also felt like I was...
- 26:53invested in the workouts too.
- 26:54Like I was curious on the times.
- 26:56I mean, I'm a master next year, right?
- 26:58So I'm also scouting my
- 26:59competition right now, I guess.
- 27:02But no, I was just, it was just fun.
- 27:04Like I liked the workouts like personally.
- 27:06So I was just curious on where I,
- 27:08where I thought people were
- 27:09going to finish prior and
- 27:10then seeing it actually play out after.
- 27:13like as an analyst and then
- 27:15just following people that
- 27:17I knew from the Toronto area,
- 27:18following Jamie.
- 27:20It was, it was fun.
- 27:23Could there be things to improve on?
- 27:24Absolutely.
- 27:26But I, I enjoyed it.
- 27:30How I was for that.
- 27:32I didn't get to watch the
- 27:33live stream at all.
- 27:34It wasn't good.
- 27:35It was like coverage.
- 27:37Good.
- 27:37Was it hard to see?
- 27:40There's a few things that would change.
- 27:42First of all, on the time,
- 27:44you never knew which division it was at.
- 27:46So like it would be really
- 27:47nice if they would put at
- 27:48the bottom somewhere.
- 27:49Right now it's the fifty to fifty four,
- 27:52you know, because at a quick glance,
- 27:53all you saw was sometimes
- 27:56you would see the clock.
- 27:57If it would be a split screen,
- 28:00I think the clock would
- 28:01disappear at times.
- 28:03So you didn't know the time, the division.
- 28:06So I didn't know if it was
- 28:08Heat One or Heat Two,
- 28:09unless I knew the athletes specifically.
- 28:11Then I was like, oh, okay,
- 28:12it's Jamie's in here,
- 28:13so it's the Heat Two.
- 28:16So a few things like that.
- 28:18There was no names on the floor.
- 28:20So it made it harder for the
- 28:22announcers to really quickly –
- 28:26determine who's you know in
- 28:28the lead and and who's in
- 28:29what lane they would make
- 28:30small little mistakes but
- 28:31it's to it's not really
- 28:33their fault like that's
- 28:34just they are having to
- 28:35know the faces of all these
- 28:36people by lanes quickly
- 28:38because there's no quick
- 28:40name tags or name name tags
- 28:41and stuff um and the score
- 28:43right you don't know who's
- 28:44in the lead um at all like
- 28:48they would have in a regular um
- 28:52uh scoring when you watch
- 28:54like the individuals like
- 28:55you see like the leaders
- 28:57and stuff like that so
- 28:57there's nothing like that
- 28:58so it's really just a clock
- 29:01and you're like if you know
- 29:02the athletes you can
- 29:04quickly like watch and and
- 29:07determine where they are in
- 29:07the race but other than
- 29:09that um definitely some
- 29:11room for for improvement
- 29:13there especially with just
- 29:14like the visual and then
- 29:14the finishes like we
- 29:15already talked about yeah is not um
- 29:18wasn't ideal because one
- 29:20floor one people are
- 29:21finishing and then other
- 29:23like you're missing other
- 29:24people from the finish
- 29:25because they're on a
- 29:26different camera yeah that
- 29:28two floor the two sides the
- 29:30floor thing is I'm not I'm
- 29:33not quite sure how I feel
- 29:34about it so this is what it would be like
- 29:39The athlete in the middle
- 29:40with the black shorts and
- 29:41the white top is in the lead.
- 29:43The all yellow, right?
- 29:45It was just like, as the announcers,
- 29:47it's not their fault.
- 29:48It's just a quick way to say
- 29:51it because they're just not
- 29:53getting much help.
- 29:56Yeah, I talked to Tommy Marquez.
- 29:58He said they weren't getting
- 30:00the spotters like they normally get,
- 30:02talking to them in their
- 30:03ear of who's where to help them out.
- 30:07When I did watch the stream,
- 30:10there was one stationary
- 30:11camera angled at the one
- 30:12side of the floor,
- 30:14one stationary camera
- 30:15angled at the other side of the floor,
- 30:17and then they had a person
- 30:18walking around with a camera.
- 30:19Okay.
- 30:20For the most part,
- 30:21that's the shots you got.
- 30:23It shows that a good
- 30:26stationary camera on half the floor,
- 30:28you can watch and kind of
- 30:30watch the story.
- 30:32We've talked about that, that, you know,
- 30:34in the elite division,
- 30:35there's too much right up
- 30:38on a person's face during a competition.
- 30:41And you don't know what's
- 30:42going on in the other lanes,
- 30:44at least with this on that
- 30:45half of the floor,
- 30:46you knew kind of who was
- 30:48winning and who wasn't.
- 30:50Um,
- 30:52So I did kind of like that.
- 30:54I did like that they did
- 30:55have someone walking around
- 30:56periodically that you could
- 30:57get the close-up of somebody.
- 30:59But I agree with Carolyn.
- 31:01I was trying to find your
- 31:03event on what I missed,
- 31:05and they did not put at the
- 31:06top age group or heat number.
- 31:10Just that simple thing at
- 31:11the top of the screen would
- 31:14have been awesome.
- 31:16Even just for a viewership-wise,
- 31:19having what the workout is at the top.
- 31:21I know what the workout is.
- 31:23We, as fans of the sports,
- 31:24know what the workouts are.
- 31:25But if they just have
- 31:28something that just briefly
- 31:30explains before the workout
- 31:31begins what the workout is
- 31:32and then just stays in the
- 31:33little corner or comes
- 31:35across the screen
- 31:36explaining what the workout is,
- 31:37I think would facilitate
- 31:38for non-CrossFit fans.
- 31:40Yeah.
- 31:41um what's going on and then
- 31:44also just having a better
- 31:47visual of the race so like
- 31:49doing thirty snatches on
- 31:50the spot you don't know
- 31:52where people were right
- 31:53until the judge's hand is
- 31:55up for the last five reps
- 31:57so something like that just
- 31:58would help say the story a
- 32:00little bit better
- 32:01Yeah, Larry Young.
- 32:02We could see the tall socks and the hats.
- 32:04So the people that wore hats
- 32:06or tall socks and you knew
- 32:08that was your person,
- 32:09really easy to pick out.
- 32:10Or six rolls of KT tape.
- 32:19And then they did have one
- 32:20floor that did not get a live stream.
- 32:23So you missed the snatch ladder,
- 32:25you missed the run deadlift,
- 32:27and you missed the front squat.
- 32:30No, they showed the front squat.
- 32:31Oh, they did?
- 32:32They did end up showing the front squat.
- 32:33Yeah, you can see it.
- 32:35Oh, great.
- 32:40Last question before we kind
- 32:41of move on and talk about
- 32:43who won on the podium.
- 32:44Any like epic moments from
- 32:46the weekend that you
- 32:47remember and want to share?
- 32:54starting to say uh I was
- 32:56watching paul trombley with
- 32:58carolyn as we were getting
- 32:59ready for the show just
- 33:01missed the four fifty five
- 33:02front squat to take the
- 33:04lead uh and he had it
- 33:06almost at the top and then
- 33:07dropped it that was pretty
- 33:08epic and then I I'll say it
- 33:12again the sixty five plus
- 33:14women banging out bar
- 33:15muscle ups was and the
- 33:17crowd going nuts was epic
- 33:19for me that's cool
- 33:32I don't know she crushed the
- 33:33dude andrea nistler like
- 33:38just dominating yeah jason
- 33:49grubb was in the fight of his life
- 33:53That's good.
- 33:53And pulled it out in the end,
- 33:54which I do think is good.
- 33:56It's not good to win by two
- 33:57hundred points.
- 33:58Yeah.
- 34:00I liked watching the echo
- 34:01bike workout like I know
- 34:03you can see where anyone
- 34:04was and you couldn't see
- 34:05where anyone was even that
- 34:06much between the rounds,
- 34:07but just the visual of
- 34:09people suffering and just
- 34:11trying to finish that
- 34:12workout brought peace to my day.
- 34:16I just enjoyed watching
- 34:18people just suffer.
- 34:22Glenn said grub on the bike
- 34:23was freaking crazy.
- 34:24I think he died for a bit.
- 34:27I died for a bit.
- 34:28I had people messaging me
- 34:30after that event that had
- 34:33watched me walk through the stadium.
- 34:35We're like, are you okay?
- 34:37How much were you hurting after?
- 34:42Probably ten minutes.
- 34:47That's not bad.
- 34:49I would expect more.
- 34:51That workout just looked gross.
- 34:53Like I said,
- 34:54the amount of people that were
- 34:55just selling their souls
- 34:57was entertaining.
- 35:00Just because I know how hard
- 35:01it is to do it.
- 35:04To actually watch people
- 35:06stop pedaling in the middle of it
- 35:08because they were hurting so bad.
- 35:11There was one athlete, Dina.
- 35:13What's her last name?
- 35:15No, no, no.
- 35:16That's Deanna.
- 35:17Dina.
- 35:19Is it Swift?
- 35:19Yes.
- 35:21She was doing like an interval style,
- 35:22like a sprint and then would let the not,
- 35:26it's not damper,
- 35:27but like the wind just stop
- 35:28and then go back.
- 35:29It was almost like she was
- 35:30doing a Tabata and had,
- 35:33I think it was at sixty or
- 35:35I don't know how many cows
- 35:36in her division, but
- 35:38She was two cows short, two or three,
- 35:41after the second round and
- 35:42just never made it back.
- 35:44And it was like,
- 35:45you just took one less interval.
- 35:47One less interval, girl.
- 35:48You had it.
- 35:50Because she was like one or
- 35:51two cows left and then just
- 35:52didn't make it back.
- 35:54How about the person that
- 35:55finished the cows in two
- 35:57intervals but didn't make
- 35:59it back to the start mat?
- 36:01So had to do the double
- 36:02unders and the chest-to-bar
- 36:04just to go to the finish mat.
- 36:07And did, but did they make it through?
- 36:08I thought I heard that and
- 36:09that they couldn't get
- 36:10through the chest of.
- 36:12They may not have.
- 36:15That's just crazy.
- 36:23Um,
- 36:23Haynes stopped for like five seconds
- 36:25before the timer.
- 36:26I was screaming.
- 36:26He finished at ninety-one calories.
- 36:28He was done, done that, that,
- 36:33that workout messed people up.
- 36:34Oh yeah.
- 36:37bad.
- 36:40Yeah,
- 36:41like there were some fun workouts
- 36:42really to watch.
- 36:44The standard was really fun to watch.
- 36:46I didn't think it would be
- 36:47and it was really fun.
- 36:53So yeah.
- 36:55So we'll go through the
- 36:55podium finishers really quick.
- 36:57I'm going to start with the men this time.
- 37:01And I'll share my screen.
- 37:04Because we want to give
- 37:04everybody their flowers.
- 37:07So let me blow this up.
- 37:12There we go.
- 37:12In the men, thirty five to thirty nine.
- 37:14Will Morad takes the win.
- 37:15Henry Matthews second and
- 37:17Bronislaw Alinkowitz took third.
- 37:20Bronislaw Alinkowitz is the
- 37:21largest man I've ever seen in my life.
- 37:24His head is bigger than my chest.
- 37:26I text.
- 37:28His head is massive.
- 37:30I text Justin Kotler and I'm like,
- 37:32his head is so big.
- 37:33He goes, I know he's the nicest guy ever.
- 37:36And he really is.
- 37:40Can you show the top five?
- 37:45Okay.
- 37:46Let's see.
- 37:46We have a Stefan cassette
- 37:47and Mitch Wagner.
- 37:49So close.
- 37:51I mean, yeah,
- 37:53that eight points and three points like,
- 37:55oh man.
- 37:58Yeah.
- 37:58Braun was not on the podium
- 37:59going into the last event.
- 38:00Right.
- 38:01I actually feel like this
- 38:02last event shook up a lot
- 38:04of leaderboards.
- 38:06Men, forty to forty four.
- 38:08Jonathan Edel, first.
- 38:10Chicho Quesada, second.
- 38:13Julian Serna, third.
- 38:14Rudy Berger, fourth.
- 38:15And James St.
- 38:18Legger, fifth.
- 38:20I ran into James yesterday.
- 38:22He was just so excited to be there.
- 38:25He came all the way from the
- 38:26UK and he just was ready to
- 38:29get to Cheesecake Factory to eat some,
- 38:32to try all the cheesecakes.
- 38:34Awesome.
- 38:38Men's, forty-five to forty-nine.
- 38:40Jason Grubb pulls out the win.
- 38:42Robbie McCord, second.
- 38:43Robbie Perovich in third.
- 38:47Cristiano Damasceno Leandro, fourth.
- 38:51Nuno Costa, fifth.
- 38:54Carolyn just wanted me to go to fifth,
- 38:55so I had to pronounce all those names.
- 38:58I'm looking at people that
- 39:01got drug tested personally,
- 39:02because we said that top five get tested,
- 39:05so I'm just curious.
- 39:07In fifty to fifty four,
- 39:08Justin LaSalla took first.
- 39:10Jamie McGarver took second.
- 39:13Sean Ramirez and his comeback took third.
- 39:16Joel Hughes took fourth and
- 39:18Jason Leaves took fifth.
- 39:19Joel Hughes,
- 39:20that is the person who was
- 39:21Ariel's original training partner.
- 39:23Oh, nice.
- 39:24And he was the two thousand
- 39:26nineteen CrossFit Games champion.
- 39:28And he came back five years
- 39:29later trying to do it again.
- 39:31He was in the lead for a lot
- 39:32of the weekend.
- 39:34But I think the front squat killed him,
- 39:35too.
- 39:37Front squat.
- 39:38Cause he's, he's a little guy.
- 39:41Only two points there
- 39:42between four and five.
- 39:42Got to talk to Sean Ramirez a little bit.
- 39:45And it was a really good
- 39:45conversation about how much
- 39:47he appreciates being back.
- 39:49Um,
- 39:50and he's just kind of soaking it in now.
- 39:52Uh,
- 39:54very different than when he was there
- 39:55before.
- 39:58Men, fifty-five to fifty-nine.
- 40:01John Kim, pretty much leader.
- 40:04He was the leader most of the weekend.
- 40:05Vic McQuaid, second.
- 40:07Leonardo Lima, third.
- 40:10Shannon McKibben, fourth.
- 40:12And Mike Egan, fifth.
- 40:17And then...
- 40:21We get to sixty to sixty four.
- 40:24Joe Ames,
- 40:25who inspired someone to join a
- 40:26CrossFit gym at the age of sixty two,
- 40:29wins.
- 40:30David Powell, second.
- 40:32Tom Famry, third.
- 40:35Stuart Swanson, fourth, and Peter Harvey,
- 40:37fifth.
- 40:38Tom Famry is just a great dude.
- 40:40I talked to him a couple of
- 40:41times in the back and he'll
- 40:43be in the behind the scenes.
- 40:48Awesome.
- 40:48Men, sixty five plus.
- 40:51John George first, Freddie Cherry second,
- 40:54David Hippenstiel third,
- 40:57fourth Dan Brannigan,
- 40:59and fifth Dan Miller.
- 41:01Boy,
- 41:02they took so many hits on Hillers
- 41:05coverage this weekend.
- 41:08Was it all from that division?
- 41:10Pretty much.
- 41:13I know Dan Miller.
- 41:15Um,
- 41:16cause Jim's obviously competed with them,
- 41:18like the guy a lot.
- 41:19And I just see,
- 41:19he got hammered in one of
- 41:20the posts and obviously hip
- 41:22and steel got hammered.
- 41:25Oh, it's, it's tough.
- 41:28So that, that poet,
- 41:30the post that Hiller was
- 41:31making was kind of what I would,
- 41:32that's why I wanted to say
- 41:33what I said at the beginning of the show,
- 41:35right?
- 41:35There's going to be,
- 41:38There's going to be some bad,
- 41:39but there's a lot of good
- 41:40that happened this weekend,
- 41:41and I don't want that to
- 41:42outweigh what transpired
- 41:44this weekend with all these athletes.
- 41:48We go to the women,
- 41:49thirty five to thirty nine.
- 41:50We've talked about a lot.
- 41:51Andrea Nestler just crushed this weekend.
- 41:54Caroline Klutz took second,
- 41:57and she's no joke.
- 41:58She's good.
- 41:58She's really good.
- 42:01Sammy Scorcelli took third.
- 42:03That's my fellow Michelle Gander.
- 42:06I didn't know who she was,
- 42:07and then I looked her up,
- 42:08and she has a doodle that
- 42:10looks identical to one of my doodles.
- 42:14Oh, does she?
- 42:15Yeah.
- 42:16Yeah, she's on the, was on the stay,
- 42:19stay strong team.
- 42:21Um, and so like we had, I mean,
- 42:23it was nice having other
- 42:24Michigan people there, um,
- 42:25in the crowds and like some
- 42:27of them had bought my shirt.
- 42:28So yeah, it was nice.
- 42:29She made a big jump to get
- 42:31that third place.
- 42:32Cause she was, she did.
- 42:33She won that last event.
- 42:34Yeah.
- 42:35Yeah.
- 42:35She won that one.
- 42:36It was impressive.
- 42:37And then Kenzie Riley finishes fifth.
- 42:40Yeah,
- 42:40she struggled a little bit at the end
- 42:42with her bar muscle-ups.
- 42:44Went down because I think
- 42:45she was in a podium position.
- 42:48Nursing with her kids all
- 42:50weekend and still pulling this stuff off.
- 42:54That's just mad respect,
- 42:56the balance that these athletes have.
- 43:01And then, forty to forty-four,
- 43:04Carly Newland's first,
- 43:06Andrea Pinheiro second,
- 43:07Carleen Matthews third,
- 43:09Jamie Latimer fourth,
- 43:11and Janine Shingleton in fifth.
- 43:14Shillington.
- 43:15Shillington.
- 43:15Both Carleen and Jamie took
- 43:17big hits on the front squat
- 43:21because they're both very
- 43:23consistent all weekend.
- 43:26Carleen was in first, I think, or second,
- 43:28and then dropped a little bit.
- 43:32Same with you.
- 43:32Like you guys are very similar finishes.
- 43:35I felt like so close to each
- 43:38other on every single event.
- 43:41Crazy.
- 43:42Yeah.
- 43:42You guys had a few events
- 43:43that you guys were just
- 43:44back in like within one spot.
- 43:48And you two are the same age too, right?
- 43:52I think so.
- 43:53I'm not certain on that.
- 43:56So there's no shaking her.
- 43:59Your division was strong though.
- 44:02Those front squats.
- 44:05Yeah, ridiculously strong.
- 44:08Stronger than the
- 44:09thirty-five to thirty-nine.
- 44:12Women forty-five to
- 44:14forty-nine was a big surprise.
- 44:19Not to me.
- 44:19Deanna is really, really good.
- 44:21I know Kelly Friel is a valor.
- 44:25Amazing, but
- 44:27Maybe because she's from my area here,
- 44:28so I know of her maybe more.
- 44:31Yeah.
- 44:31I'm just like Kelly's
- 44:34five-time podium finisher
- 44:36and three-time gold medalist.
- 44:38She's a favorite coming in.
- 44:40That's still an upset.
- 44:42Because she got beat by twenty points.
- 44:44Twenty-one points.
- 44:45Yeah.
- 44:46Close.
- 44:47And then Val Vobrol in third.
- 44:51What was Kelly's worst finish?
- 44:53One point.
- 44:57Yeah.
- 44:57Where does she take a hit?
- 45:00She struggled on that.
- 45:01I mean, no, she, she was close to fit.
- 45:03She never got back to the bike on the,
- 45:06on the bike one.
- 45:07That's one of the ones that
- 45:07she was only a couple of cows,
- 45:09but I still think she had a high finish.
- 45:13Nineteenth on the.
- 45:14No, that wouldn't be.
- 45:20It's a nineteenth on this one.
- 45:22What number is it?
- 45:25Twenty seven.
- 45:27So that's a standard.
- 45:29That's what I wondered.
- 45:30And then did she not do
- 45:31great on the last workout either?
- 45:33Yeah.
- 45:33So maybe it's a muscle up issue.
- 45:36Is she, is her, uh, on the last one.
- 45:42Tenth.
- 45:43So maybe something with some
- 45:45sort of muscle up or body
- 45:46pulling in general or pressing.
- 45:49All right.
- 45:53And then women, fifty to fifty four.
- 45:57Uh, Janet black, Jen, Dieter, Kim Purdy,
- 46:01Stephanie, China, Stephanie,
- 46:03China had been in the top
- 46:04three all weekend.
- 46:04So I went and talked to her
- 46:05Sunday morning and then she
- 46:06fell off the podium one point.
- 46:08Uh, and then T's Gabby was in fifth.
- 46:15How did Stephanie do on that
- 46:16last workout was,
- 46:18did she tank it or was it
- 46:19like second and she got
- 46:22second and still didn't make it.
- 46:24It moved back.
- 46:25Oh.
- 46:27It would be really
- 46:28interesting to see if they
- 46:30redid the scoring of the final event,
- 46:34what the points would be.
- 46:37I agree.
- 46:38Holly.
- 46:39Aaron.
- 46:40Um, I just, just curious, uh, if you,
- 46:44if you go on the podium or
- 46:46cause you did do well in that last one,
- 46:47Jamie.
- 46:48So it would only help you.
- 46:49I would assume, um,
- 46:52just would be curious to
- 46:52see how much the leaderboard shakes up.
- 46:54What are the differences in points?
- 46:56uh so then we go to fifty
- 46:58five fifty nine joy and
- 46:59cooper first tia mavre
- 47:03second tia vesser third
- 47:05shanna bunce fourth uh mara
- 47:08cruz prieto in fifth by a tie oh
- 47:14Yeah.
- 47:15Oh, man.
- 47:16That's her one of the games in twenty one.
- 47:20How many events win that she has?
- 47:22Because the one underneath
- 47:23already has a one.
- 47:24So one at least at least two events.
- 47:29One.
- 47:30But three.
- 47:32OK, she must have more seconds.
- 47:33She has a second.
- 47:34She has a second place somewhere else,
- 47:36maybe.
- 47:36And then.
- 47:44Are we up now?
- 47:46Lex, they test one through five.
- 47:51All right.
- 47:53I can't figure out
- 47:53tiebreakers on this stuff today.
- 47:55And then in sixty to sixty four,
- 47:58Laurie Mishiznik,
- 48:00who I talked to to get the
- 48:01pronunciation of her last name correct.
- 48:04She won because I said, hey,
- 48:06I'm saying your name way too many times.
- 48:07I need to know how to pronounce it.
- 48:09Betsy Vanderberg took second.
- 48:11Those two were clearly head
- 48:13and shoulders above in this field.
- 48:15And then Marion Valkenberg, third.
- 48:18Gina Vienna in fourth and
- 48:20Lynn Knappman in fifth.
- 48:24And then we finish with
- 48:26sixty to sixty sixty five plus.
- 48:30Where we had Patricia McGill,
- 48:32our very own Denise Moore
- 48:34in second and Julie Holt in third,
- 48:38Diana Flynn in fourth and
- 48:39Sue Lawson in fifth.
- 48:41And they're not on this leaderboard,
- 48:43but a huge shout out to the
- 48:45seventy plus division who
- 48:48are defying what age means
- 48:50even further now.
- 48:52There were like thirty some
- 48:54competitors in the seventy
- 48:55plus division putting it out on the line.
- 48:59They were announced their
- 49:00winners were announced on
- 49:01Saturday night and had an
- 49:03award ceremony Saturday night for them.
- 49:06So congratulations to all
- 49:08the seventy plus athletes
- 49:10and and their weekend.
- 49:13Jamie was every single
- 49:15division top five or just
- 49:16certain divisions top five.
- 49:18You know,
- 49:19I believe every single division
- 49:20was top five.
- 49:22Any randoms or do they only
- 49:23do the top five?
- 49:24I did not see any randoms.
- 49:27It's too bad.
- 49:28And thirty five to thirty
- 49:29nine did blood as well.
- 49:31That's good.
- 49:35But not forty to forty-four?
- 49:37No.
- 49:37Everyone does blood?
- 49:40Or at random?
- 49:40Because at semifinals, for instance,
- 49:43one year I got blood,
- 49:44but not everyone else.
- 49:46Certain people at random were chosen.
- 49:48It looked to me that all five,
- 49:51thirty-five to thirty-nine
- 49:52that came in did blood.
- 49:54Well, Carolyn,
- 49:54it's because of your
- 49:55physique that you got blood.
- 50:03So, yeah.
- 50:05I'm buff.
- 50:05Can't trust Carolyn with those guns.
- 50:08Big pythons.
- 50:09Jokes around.
- 50:15Anyway, I felt it was a great weekend.
- 50:18I had a good time.
- 50:19It was fun cheering for my
- 50:20friends out there.
- 50:22And I love these athletes.
- 50:23And it was really cool
- 50:24catching up with all of them.
- 50:26uh we did do a behind the
- 50:28scenes so huge shout out to
- 50:30jonathan ortega and caitlyn
- 50:32walters who were
- 50:33videographers on the floor
- 50:35the entire weekend jonathan
- 50:37kind of ran that show for
- 50:38me and I appreciate that
- 50:41he's going to do all the
- 50:42editing of the workout
- 50:43reels that we put inside
- 50:45the behind the scenes so
- 50:46huge shout out to him
- 50:47because he's going to
- 50:48continue working with me
- 50:50over the next few weeks
- 50:52And then I'm looking at a
- 50:54Monday or Tuesday release
- 50:55like morning where I'll
- 50:57release these early in the week.
- 50:59Um,
- 50:59so this coming Monday or Tuesday we'll
- 51:01release episode one,
- 51:03which will be check-in day.
- 51:04And then every release after
- 51:06that will be an event.
- 51:08So the second week will be event one,
- 51:11third week will be event
- 51:12two and so on until we finish the events.
- 51:15Um,
- 51:17we got all the behind the
- 51:18scenes footage holly is
- 51:20working on graphics and
- 51:21leaderboards for every
- 51:23episode um so we'll have
- 51:25those within the episode as
- 51:26well you'll get clips of
- 51:28the workouts and clips of
- 51:31uh people coming off the
- 51:32floor uh which was done by
- 51:34ellie hiller and myself in
- 51:35the back in the warm-up
- 51:37area getting a footage of
- 51:39people warming up and kind
- 51:40of getting ready and
- 51:43I will tell you this these
- 51:45will get better as they go
- 51:46because I got better as it went um
- 51:51the questions and the way I
- 51:52approach things change
- 51:54completely from day one to
- 51:57the end of the competition.
- 51:59I became more voyeuristic at
- 52:01the end where I would just
- 52:02like come in on a coach and
- 52:03an athlete talking and then
- 52:05like have them explain to
- 52:06me what they're talking about.
- 52:08And then they opened up a
- 52:09lot more about different things,
- 52:11which became more natural
- 52:12than like question provoked.
- 52:16You also get to start like
- 52:17seeing the story of the
- 52:18weekend play out and can
- 52:21then change a little bit
- 52:24like your ideas and stuff.
- 52:26And we tried to include as
- 52:27many athletes as we could.
- 52:29So I tried not to double up too much.
- 52:31I tried to get different
- 52:33people all throughout the
- 52:34weekend to let them have a
- 52:37little time in the sun as they went.
- 52:40But as you get to the end
- 52:42and things get crazy, there's tears,
- 52:45there's emotion,
- 52:47there's a lot of things
- 52:48that happen at the end, which... Yeah.
- 52:53We...
- 52:56where else do you get to go
- 52:57watch a mom come off the
- 52:58floor and their little kids
- 53:00jump up into their arms to
- 53:01congratulate them after the event?
- 53:04Like it just, there's magic at this place.
- 53:07I think that people are
- 53:08missing from not being
- 53:09there that you don't get to
- 53:11see everywhere in CrossFit.
- 53:13And it was, it was freaking amazing.
- 53:15And we captured some of those moments.
- 53:17So that stuff will be in here as well.
- 53:22What'll be the length of the episodes?
- 53:24I'm trying to make them like
- 53:25a half an hour or twenty to
- 53:27thirty minutes.
- 53:28I don't want them to.
- 53:29I want them to be like bingeable.
- 53:33Yeah.
- 53:34You know, I mean,
- 53:36but if the story is there,
- 53:37I'm going to run with the
- 53:38story till till its completion.
- 53:40But but yeah,
- 53:43the goal is twenty to thirty
- 53:45minutes an episode.
- 53:48And it'll be eleven episodes at the end.
- 53:55so exciting so with that um
- 53:58carolyn I know that jamie
- 53:59and I did not see any of
- 54:00the teens did you capture
- 54:03any of the teens yeah I
- 54:05watched um some of the
- 54:07events uh just like in
- 54:10between it was it was hard
- 54:11to like catch all of it I was
- 54:15Obviously, like,
- 54:16seeing more of the Masters this weekend.
- 54:19They had a cool opening
- 54:19ceremony that I saw also
- 54:21some highlights from.
- 54:23And then the teens, they're strong.
- 54:25Some of those teens are
- 54:28pulling up some numbers, and I'm like,
- 54:29damn!
- 54:32Their running event, like,
- 54:34on day one was cool.
- 54:36The obstacle, like, had these, like,
- 54:38steep hills that they were running up.
- 54:41My, like,
- 54:45Athletes,
- 54:45I would just follow them all
- 54:46weekend on the leaderboard.
- 54:48The ones that I'd been
- 54:49talking to and also seeing
- 54:50their highlight stories and
- 54:52stuff like that.
- 54:53But again,
- 54:54it's just unfortunate that both
- 54:55of them were at the same
- 54:56time because you're just
- 54:57kind of going back and forth.
- 54:59And because we were doing
- 55:00the shows on Masters,
- 55:02I felt the need to...
- 55:04stay up to date with what
- 55:06was going on in the master
- 55:07side and watch the
- 55:08divisions and see the
- 55:09stories unfold so that I
- 55:11could analyze and talk to
- 55:12you in the evenings.
- 55:13So that's one of the reasons
- 55:15I was also like heavily
- 55:16invested into the masters,
- 55:18but not to say that I
- 55:19didn't watch the teens at all.
- 55:21One of my two is have
- 55:24Stephanie on or something
- 55:25this week to talk about a
- 55:26debrief of the teens and
- 55:28how it went up there.
- 55:29So I'll contact her tomorrow
- 55:32and see if we can have her
- 55:34on to talk about that.
- 55:37Because I know that for the
- 55:38first time ever,
- 55:38they went away from the pit
- 55:41and into an arena at
- 55:43Kalamazoo for days two and three.
- 55:46And I'm anxious to know how
- 55:47that went for them.
- 55:49yeah like one of their
- 55:50events that was at pit had
- 55:51to um move because of the
- 55:55uh the weather yeah yeah um
- 56:02yeah I tristan was trying
- 56:03to watch it a lot and when
- 56:06I would like catch pieces
- 56:08of it or when he was
- 56:09talking to the other coach
- 56:09there it sounded like it wasn't
- 56:12Maybe because that arena is
- 56:14bigger and more of the stadium,
- 56:15it like looked empty is
- 56:17what I was hearing early on.
- 56:18I don't know if that was,
- 56:19this was like Thursday and Friday.
- 56:21So Saturday and Sunday
- 56:22might've been way busier.
- 56:25Busier there, I didn't follow up as much.
- 56:27When they were lifting,
- 56:29it looked empty on the back,
- 56:30but I don't know if because
- 56:31their fans wanted to be in
- 56:32front of them cheering on
- 56:33while they're facing.
- 56:34So I didn't know if that was the case,
- 56:36whether they put the fans
- 56:37on one side because that's
- 56:38the side they're facing
- 56:39when they're competing,
- 56:41which then leaves the
- 56:42opposite side feeling empty.
- 56:45Oftentimes in sports,
- 56:47you put the fans where the
- 56:48camera is going to be so it looks...
- 56:50yeah better but not I guess
- 56:52you wouldn't want to see an
- 56:53empty side on the on like
- 56:54for crossfit right so on a
- 56:58different note I'm going to
- 56:59put up these two comments
- 57:00back to back and you can
- 57:02surmise what you will uh
- 57:04keeping it real just got
- 57:05here jamie is third fittest
- 57:07thank you we'll let you
- 57:08guys surmise why uh they
- 57:10need some randoms in there
- 57:11because needles
- 57:16so take a sip um cheers on
- 57:24an on the next topic uh
- 57:25page powers announced on
- 57:27her youtube page yeah um
- 57:31and due in february huge
- 57:36huge news huge news
- 57:39So this is like the first
- 57:41younger athlete to announce
- 57:44a pregnancy in the middle
- 57:45of their career.
- 57:47I'm assuming it will have
- 57:49little to no effect on her
- 57:51overall career.
- 57:51She's only twenty or twenty one.
- 57:54Right.
- 57:54Twenty two.
- 57:55Twenty one, I think.
- 57:59And if.
- 58:03And Carolyn corrected me on
- 58:04this the other night,
- 58:04but most women who stay fit
- 58:08recover from pregnancy a
- 58:09little bit faster.
- 58:11There are exceptions to that rule, like,
- 58:13i.e.,
- 58:14Lindsay Valenzuela and the
- 58:15complications she had.
- 58:17But I'm sure she'll be back
- 58:19and better than ever.
- 58:21Probably, I'm guessing,
- 58:22the twenty twenty six season.
- 58:26But Andrea Nistler kind of
- 58:28proved us all wrong.
- 58:30Yeah.
- 58:30I mean,
- 58:30Andrea and Tia are like not the
- 58:33norm or someone to compare
- 58:34yourself to as even a high level athlete.
- 58:37I think that they're an
- 58:38anomaly that most women
- 58:41will never be able to do
- 58:43what they've been able to
- 58:44do at such a fast time after pregnancy.
- 58:48And it's been crazy to watch
- 58:50their journey and
- 58:51And I feel like every
- 58:53woman's journey is slightly different,
- 58:55obviously.
- 58:56And it'll be interesting to
- 58:57see whether Paige turns the
- 58:59page to CrossFit and moves
- 59:01on to something else or
- 59:03whether she continues to
- 59:04pursue her dream of going
- 59:07to the CrossFit Games as a mom.
- 59:10Either way, I think we'll be, you know,
- 59:13we'll be good and we'll be
- 59:14following her journey.
- 59:16Yeah.
- 59:17Like we've said with a lot
- 59:17of the young athletes,
- 59:20whatever makes them happy, right?
- 59:22You know, um, they have to do what,
- 59:24what that is.
- 59:28Uh, Linda jury says a Nistler Tia,
- 59:31she'll be good.
- 59:32She'll most probably defeat me in the open,
- 59:34even being nine months pregnant.
- 59:37Uh, same here.
- 59:41And I'll have scaled as well.
- 59:43So
- 59:46The last topic we have for
- 59:47tonight is... And I don't
- 59:50want to get into this on a
- 59:51long debate because I've
- 59:52talked about it for the last two weeks.
- 59:55It is the formation of the PFAA.
- 59:57And I have said over and
- 59:58over again that...
- 1:00:00I think that athletes should
- 1:00:02have a say in some way.
- 1:00:05But I was curious and I was
- 1:00:08alarmed at the structure of
- 1:00:11what the PFA was and did
- 1:00:13they have bylaws with
- 1:00:16voting members and did the
- 1:00:20voting members get a chance
- 1:00:22to vote on whatever it is that they do.
- 1:00:25They went on coffee pods and wads.
- 1:00:27I listened to that on my trip home.
- 1:00:31It was very vague in how
- 1:00:32they explained that.
- 1:00:35Then after that,
- 1:00:36Savan did a show with Saxon
- 1:00:38Pancheck and Angelo DiCicco
- 1:00:41who spelled out things that
- 1:00:42were missing from what
- 1:00:45Brent and Pat said on
- 1:00:46Coffee Pods and WODs.
- 1:00:48And this was the warning
- 1:00:50that I was trying to say.
- 1:00:52Without structure in your
- 1:00:54organization and voting on
- 1:00:56topics like this,
- 1:00:58Now you're getting
- 1:00:59dissension where people are
- 1:01:01saying they didn't have the right to vote,
- 1:01:03where they did not get to
- 1:01:05have a say in what was released.
- 1:01:07I don't know what the truth is,
- 1:01:09but without structure,
- 1:01:10it leaves you open to all of this.
- 1:01:13And athletes saying that we
- 1:01:14are not being represented by them,
- 1:01:16they are only representing
- 1:01:17the eight people that signed it.
- 1:01:23And so we can leave that
- 1:01:25open for like a longer
- 1:01:27discussion on one of our other shows,
- 1:01:29but I didn't want to dive
- 1:01:30into that fully tonight
- 1:01:32because this is really a
- 1:01:33wrap up show and my
- 1:01:34daughter's coming into town tonight.
- 1:01:36So I didn't want to go super long,
- 1:01:38but something is brewing
- 1:01:40here and I don't want it to
- 1:01:42be dissension.
- 1:01:43I want the athletes to come
- 1:01:45together as one voice,
- 1:01:47but it needs structure and
- 1:01:48it needs to be
- 1:01:49representative of all athletes.
- 1:01:52not just a select few in what they want.
- 1:01:56I like Brent.
- 1:01:58I like Pat.
- 1:01:59I'm not trying to go against
- 1:02:01what they're trying to do.
- 1:02:03All I was saying was it
- 1:02:05needs a proper structure so
- 1:02:07that you can show that
- 1:02:09you're representing the athletes.
- 1:02:11And I think they skipped a
- 1:02:12few steps along the way,
- 1:02:14and now they're getting bit
- 1:02:15in the butt by it.
- 1:02:18I think certain points will
- 1:02:21get most athletes behind
- 1:02:24and certain stuff will
- 1:02:25never be a unanimous thing.
- 1:02:28So that's where I think it
- 1:02:29might be the decision to
- 1:02:31like focus on the things
- 1:02:32that maybe they can all agree on, um,
- 1:02:36as going forward,
- 1:02:38just sound like some of the
- 1:02:41demands that they made, um, obviously is,
- 1:02:44um,
- 1:02:46not like not on the same
- 1:02:47page for everyone.
- 1:02:49Um, and some of them,
- 1:02:50everyone would agree like
- 1:02:51that would make sense.
- 1:02:53Right.
- 1:02:53So even some of the things
- 1:02:54that they had prior to even
- 1:02:56this happening, like years ago, like,
- 1:02:58okay, like, um,
- 1:02:59having the size of the rig
- 1:03:00or ropes cut or, you know,
- 1:03:02things that we've learned
- 1:03:03through experience and,
- 1:03:05and having a better, um,
- 1:03:08online competition pro like process.
- 1:03:10Like, I feel like most athletes would
- 1:03:13agree that these are changes
- 1:03:15that you know we want so I
- 1:03:18think just beginning with
- 1:03:20at least that before
- 1:03:23because if I think if you
- 1:03:24if you push certain stuff
- 1:03:25that divide right away and
- 1:03:27I think it's gonna be hard
- 1:03:28for the pfa to continue but
- 1:03:30if at least you have
- 1:03:31everyone on the same page
- 1:03:32on certain points to begin
- 1:03:33with I think you can start
- 1:03:34growing and then taking
- 1:03:36into account different um
- 1:03:39thoughts and stuff like that
- 1:03:40going forward I don't know
- 1:03:42if that makes sense so I
- 1:03:44think I I hear what you're
- 1:03:45saying and I do agree to
- 1:03:46with it in most part but I
- 1:03:49think it regardless of what
- 1:03:50they're they're asking for
- 1:03:52if you can say we put this
- 1:03:54to a vote of our body of
- 1:03:56the athletes that we
- 1:03:57represent and whatever your
- 1:03:59bylaws say it passed by a
- 1:04:06then we are representing the
- 1:04:07body as a whole because
- 1:04:09that passed a vote.
- 1:04:11If you don't put it out to
- 1:04:12the body to vote on,
- 1:04:14then you're putting
- 1:04:17yourself out there on a
- 1:04:18limb with only the board
- 1:04:20voting on it to say this is what we want.
- 1:04:24Now you've got the divisiveness.
- 1:04:26If I'm an athlete who has
- 1:04:28voted and at least got my say,
- 1:04:30then I'm okay with you
- 1:04:32moving forward with whatever it is.
- 1:04:35And it just becomes who can vote, right?
- 1:04:37Like in their thing,
- 1:04:38it was like a two year,
- 1:04:40is it individual athletes only?
- 1:04:41Do the masters count?
- 1:04:43Do the teams count?
- 1:04:44And I get, we're talking about the games.
- 1:04:46Cause if we start going all
- 1:04:47the way until the open, like, I mean,
- 1:04:50there'd be a ridiculous
- 1:04:51amount of people to survey.
- 1:04:54Let's say you go games and
- 1:04:56is it only the end of it?
- 1:04:57Like, where does it like,
- 1:04:58what is your pool of athletes?
- 1:04:59Cause that should be clear too,
- 1:05:00whether it's,
- 1:05:01you can only be an individual athlete.
- 1:05:03masters and elite right like
- 1:05:08it's just leaving teams out
- 1:05:11is a big miss and I think
- 1:05:13the larger the body the
- 1:05:15better your position is
- 1:05:17So when you're limiting yourself, yeah,
- 1:05:20you shouldn't go all the way to the open.
- 1:05:21That's just ridiculous.
- 1:05:23But to go to at least all
- 1:05:25games qualifiers in all
- 1:05:27divisions or to maybe semifinals, maybe.
- 1:05:33Because now you've got not only dissension,
- 1:05:36but you have athletes
- 1:05:37questioning leadership.
- 1:05:39Mm-hmm.
- 1:05:40Like it, and now it's getting bad when,
- 1:05:43when it should be a unified,
- 1:05:44this should have unified
- 1:05:46athletes to get what they wanted.
- 1:05:48And instead it's cutting them in half.
- 1:05:53Yeah.
- 1:05:55I, I loved Saxon.
- 1:05:56He, I mean, boy, he was, he was on fire.
- 1:06:02I mean,
- 1:06:02I feel like he had a lot of the
- 1:06:03same points you've talked about Carolyn,
- 1:06:05like
- 1:06:07You as a current athlete can't really,
- 1:06:09like, what are you asking for?
- 1:06:10You're asking to know these
- 1:06:11workouts in advance?
- 1:06:12Like, that doesn't work.
- 1:06:18The biggest problem to our sport,
- 1:06:20I'm going to say it again,
- 1:06:21I say that I've said it
- 1:06:22many times is the unknown and unknowable.
- 1:06:24Like it is the biggest
- 1:06:25barrier to our sport having
- 1:06:28any credibility to be
- 1:06:29professional and stuff like that.
- 1:06:31And to moving like moving forward,
- 1:06:33like there's just so many
- 1:06:35problems with the unknown and unknowable,
- 1:06:37the leaks.
- 1:06:38the, the movement standards,
- 1:06:41the changes continuously,
- 1:06:43like the safety that you
- 1:06:44can predict what could happen.
- 1:06:46Cause things just get invented.
- 1:06:47Workouts get invented constantly.
- 1:06:49Like that barrier.
- 1:06:52I don't know.
- 1:06:53Like,
- 1:06:53I don't know if the sport itself has
- 1:06:55to be completely different than the,
- 1:06:57than the methodology,
- 1:06:58which I don't think it needs to,
- 1:06:59but at the same time,
- 1:07:00like if you want it to be
- 1:07:03professional like that, it could like,
- 1:07:06I don't, I just don't know.
- 1:07:07Like
- 1:07:09Like I get the unknowable is
- 1:07:10so important to CrossFit
- 1:07:12and developing people,
- 1:07:13but I just think that
- 1:07:16there's so many issues with
- 1:07:17it at the same time.
- 1:07:20So, so I think what's happening is,
- 1:07:23and I think Saxon tried to
- 1:07:24say this in the interview as well is.
- 1:07:30And we've talked about it.
- 1:07:32The CrossFit Games are
- 1:07:34usually the safest run
- 1:07:36competition out there.
- 1:07:37Yeah.
- 1:07:39It just had the biggest faux
- 1:07:41pas that happened, right?
- 1:07:46So for the most part,
- 1:07:48you have confidence in things, but
- 1:07:52If you vote on a neutral
- 1:07:54third party that has no
- 1:07:56affiliation with the
- 1:07:56athletes and no affiliation with CrossFit,
- 1:08:00and they can look at the
- 1:08:01safety plan and say, hey,
- 1:08:04this is good or not good,
- 1:08:05and both sides agree to it,
- 1:08:08I think that's what Saxon is looking for.
- 1:08:12right not coming in and
- 1:08:14saying hey we want to look
- 1:08:15at your workouts and say
- 1:08:18they're okay they're not
- 1:08:19okay they still need to be
- 1:08:20involved in the sport
- 1:08:21somehow they need to
- 1:08:22understand the movements
- 1:08:23and right but not be an
- 1:08:25active athlete I think is
- 1:08:26what he was saying yeah
- 1:08:28because you can have access
- 1:08:29to information above other
- 1:08:30people like and that's what
- 1:08:32I said prior to this is it's it's
- 1:08:36it's just tough.
- 1:08:36Cause it's like, Oh, you like,
- 1:08:38you're an active athlete at
- 1:08:40the highest level.
- 1:08:41Like you,
- 1:08:42you just can't have access to
- 1:08:43certain information.
- 1:08:44Even if you do share it to others,
- 1:08:46like it just,
- 1:08:47you're still getting it first.
- 1:08:50It's, and that probably is a head,
- 1:08:51like a hesitation from the
- 1:08:53games to also communicate
- 1:08:54with them because they're
- 1:08:56active and they don't know
- 1:08:56what kind of information to give, um,
- 1:09:01so aaron I I want to speak
- 1:09:02to this if they're only if
- 1:09:04they are doing only
- 1:09:05individual games then why
- 1:09:07do they want to step in and
- 1:09:08have influence on smaller
- 1:09:09events I agree like your
- 1:09:12your body are only games
- 1:09:14athletes who have made it
- 1:09:16in the last two years who
- 1:09:18are allowed to vote those
- 1:09:19are the only people allowed
- 1:09:20to vote no teams no masters no teens
- 1:09:25no semifinal athletes.
- 1:09:27Yet issues that you have
- 1:09:28brought up yourself are ropes being cut,
- 1:09:31which happened at semifinals,
- 1:09:33bar height or ring height,
- 1:09:36which happened at semifinals.
- 1:09:40If you're going to include
- 1:09:41these things that need
- 1:09:42changed at the semifinal level,
- 1:09:44semifinal athletes should
- 1:09:46have a say in that as well.
- 1:09:49And semifinal and games
- 1:09:50athletes include teams.
- 1:09:54They're working out on the same bars,
- 1:09:56same ropes, same swim, all that stuff.
- 1:10:01Yep.
- 1:10:03And it doesn't hurt you to
- 1:10:04expand your body and have
- 1:10:06bigger representation.
- 1:10:07It just doesn't.
- 1:10:11But
- 1:10:13Sorry.
- 1:10:14It's just been like this
- 1:10:15thing in my craw for the last two weeks.
- 1:10:18And I just think it needs
- 1:10:20better organization.
- 1:10:21I want them to succeed.
- 1:10:23Trust me,
- 1:10:24this is not coming after them to
- 1:10:26like disband or they just
- 1:10:28need the organization
- 1:10:29behind it to make sense.
- 1:10:36um so whitney I actually
- 1:10:38listened to jason a lot I I
- 1:10:41saw his pfa thing a while back
- 1:10:44And I knew they were in
- 1:10:45their infancy back then.
- 1:10:48I was hoping that through the years,
- 1:10:50they would develop into a
- 1:10:51professional organization.
- 1:10:53I belong to a professional organization,
- 1:10:55so I'm watching it from the
- 1:10:56eyes of someone who has
- 1:10:58been the president of my
- 1:10:59professional organization,
- 1:11:00who has been a board member,
- 1:11:02who has had to work with the bylaws.
- 1:11:04That's what I'm looking at,
- 1:11:06and it's falling short on many levels.
- 1:11:13Okay.
- 1:11:14but um so with that we I'm
- 1:11:20sure this will be a topic
- 1:11:21as more people because now
- 1:11:23that two people have spoke
- 1:11:24up you know more coming
- 1:11:26that's just the way the world works uh
- 1:11:31So anyway, with that,
