- 0:00In the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the power of concentration is
- 0:04extolled. In particular, the one pointed
- 0:08concentration on any particular object unites the seeker with
- 0:12the object such that they become one.
- 0:17At that point, all of the secrets of the object are
- 0:20delivered up to the person undertaking the concentration.
- 0:24The process of unification through 1 pointed concentration
- 0:28with the object is called samyama.
- 0:31Anything can become the object of such focus, including any
- 0:35particular issue, obstacle, decision, plan, direction, or
- 0:42practical skill one wants to choose.
- 0:45The deeper 1 explores any issue, the more one understanding one
- 0:50can gain. 1 can look at circumstances from all angles.
- 0:54One can focus on the energetic situation.
- 0:57One can look at the situation according to its source,
- 1:01intensity, trajectory, and momentum.
- 1:05One can look at a variety of different potential directions
- 1:08and conduct what we might call simulations in our mind to get a
- 1:13sense of how different types of action yield vastly different
- 1:16results. All of this is possible through
- 1:20use of the power of concentration.
- 1:23Process of oneness provides an immediate awareness of these
- 1:27issues. Even short of complete
- 1:30achievement of oneness, however, the process can nevertheless
- 1:33provide significant insights and yield dramatic results.

- 1:42If your power of concentration is complete, then there is not a
- 1:46problem you cannot solve. I don't mean arithmetic
- 1:50problems. Laughter, I mean problems about
- 1:54leading one's life, about decisions to be taken,
- 1:58psychological problems which need solving.
- 2:01There is not one that can resist this power of concentration and
