- 0:03Speaker 1: Hi again everybody. I'm Dan Horde and thanks for downloading
- 0:06Speaker 1: The Bengals Booth Podcast. BA crazy, eh, but that's how
- 0:11Speaker 1: it gos. Addition, as the Bengals commit four turnovers in
- 0:16Speaker 1: fourteen penalties and still win comfortably at Tennessee, coming up
- 0:21Speaker 1: radio replays, locker room comments and postgame analysis from Dave Lappham.

- 0:54Speaker 1: you can have the latest edition of this podcast delivered
- 0:58Speaker 1: right to your phone, tablet, or computer subscribing wherever you
- 1:01Speaker 1: get your podcasts. It's the greatest thing since Bad Sisters
- 1:06Speaker 1: Season two. Bad Sisters is a black comedy on Apple
- 1:11Speaker 1: TV that recently started its second season. I don't want
- 1:14Speaker 1: to spoil anything in case you haven't watched it, so
- 1:17Speaker 1: I'll go light on the details. Season one features laugh
- 1:21Speaker 1: out loud moments in nearly every episode and perhaps the
- 1:25Speaker 1: greatest villain in the history of TV or film. We're
- 1:30Speaker 1: talking about a total a hole who is so despicable
- 1:34Speaker 1: that you'll want to reach into your TV screen and
- 1:37Speaker 1: strangle him. I've only watched a couple of episodes in
- 1:40Speaker 1: season two, but it's very different. It's not nearly as funny,
- 1:45Speaker 1: but it features a whopper of a plot twist and
- 1:49Speaker 1: another loathsome villain. If you're looking for something to watch
- 1:54Speaker 1: or binge, Bad Sisters on Apple TV gets my strongest recommendation.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Now time for the radio replays from Sunday's win in Tennessee.
- 2:07Speaker 1: This afternoon from Music City USA, Nashville, Tennessee. The Bengals
- 2:11Speaker 1: will look to keep their playoff hopes alive as they
- 2:14Speaker 1: take on old friend Brian Callahan and the Tennessee Titans.
- 2:19Speaker 1: And it is time for the big skin to fly
- 2:22Speaker 1: here at Nissan Stadium. Second down and ten Bengals from
- 2:25Speaker 1: their own twenty burrow to throw against the four man
- 2:28Speaker 1: rush passes over the middle and it is picked off
- 2:32Speaker 1: by the Tennessee Titans. A pass intended for Jamar Chase
- 2:37Speaker 1: Luke Gifford, an interior linebacker, went to the ground and
- 2:42Speaker 1: intercepted it for Tennessee. One of the best defensive linemen
- 2:45Speaker 1: in the NFL checks in on offense, Jeffrey Simmons. He
- 2:49Speaker 1: will line up as a fullback in front of Pollard.
- 2:52Speaker 1: On second down in goal from the three. That is
- 2:55Speaker 1: a gigantic fullback. Levis gives it to Pollard running up
- 2:59Speaker 1: the middle, touchdown Tennessee Hurst and goal from the Tennessee six.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Burrow and the shotgun back at the eleven. Joe extends
- 3:07Speaker 1: the hands, catches the ball back to throw looking still
- 3:10Speaker 1: looking now backs up, gets away from a hit, still looking,
- 3:14Speaker 1: escapes another hit, throws into the end zone, touchdown to
- 3:18Speaker 1: Chase Brown. The remarkable Joe Burrow buying time, escaping two
- 3:25Speaker 1: possible sacks, and delivering a strike to running back Chase
- 3:29Speaker 1: Brown for the Bengals touchdown. Will they give it to
- 3:32Speaker 1: Jeffrey Simmons to try to score a touchdown? That would
- 3:35Speaker 1: be interesting. They do not. They give it to Tajy Spears.
- 3:38Speaker 1: He goes airborne and he sticks the ball forward for
- 3:41Speaker 1: the Tennessee touchdown. Burrow under center an I formation backfield
- 3:45Speaker 1: behind him, the tailback is Chase Brown. Burrow fakes a handoff,
- 3:49Speaker 1: throws a pass Sam Hubbard with the catching touchdown Bengals.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Sam Hubbard raising the football over his head and spiking
- 4:00Speaker 1: at Gronk style after the first catch of his NFL
- 4:05Speaker 1: career third down and seven. As the result of that
- 4:07Speaker 1: five yard penalty, Levis to throw his pass, picked off
- 4:11Speaker 1: Cam Taylor Britt at the fifty, running back down the
- 4:13Speaker 1: sideline of the thirty five thirty and shoved out of
- 4:16Speaker 1: bounds near the twenty. A late penalty flag thrown Will
- 4:21Speaker 1: after the play, but a great interception for Cam Taylor
- 4:25Speaker 1: Britt and the Bengals get their second takeaway. Burrow ready
- 4:28Speaker 1: for the shotgun snap Drew Sample in the backfield with him.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Burrow has the ball. It's a deep drop he throws
- 4:33Speaker 1: before Gunning hit got deep ball for Higgins. He catches
- 4:37Speaker 1: hip touchdown Bengals. Burrow flattened at the fifty and on
- 4:43Speaker 1: his back, he holds up the touchdown signal after connecting
- 4:48Speaker 1: with the Tennessee kid t Higgins. Taja spears in it
- 4:51Speaker 1: running back lines up to the right of Will Levis,
- 4:53Speaker 1: who taps both sides of his helmet as he waits
- 4:56Speaker 1: for the shotgun snap. The former UK Wildcat back to throw,
- 5:00Speaker 1: deflected and intercepted. Mike Hilton grabs the ricochet. I think
- 5:06Speaker 1: Cam Taylor Brett tipped it to him and the Bengals
- 5:09Speaker 1: have intercepted consecutive throws by Will Levis. This will be
- 5:13Speaker 1: a twenty one yard try from the left hash for
- 5:16Speaker 1: Cad York. Ryan Rico is the holder, the snap, the placement,
- 5:20Speaker 1: the kick is up and it is good. With two
- 5:24Speaker 1: seconds left.
- 5:25Speaker 2: In the half.
- 5:25Speaker 1: The Bengals have gone up by ten points and Levis
- 5:28Speaker 1: under center again, turns around, fakes a hand off to Pollard,
- 5:31Speaker 1: wants to throw, fires intercepted, Stone running it back. Gino's
- 5:35Speaker 1: at the twenty five twenty battle in front to block.
- 5:38Speaker 1: He's to the five to the goal line, touchdown Bengals.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Geno Stone with a pick six and the Bengals have
- 5:50Speaker 1: their fourth takeaway of the day. Rudolph catches the shotguns,
- 5:54Speaker 1: hands it off the balls on the ground, but Pollard
- 5:56Speaker 1: no I thought he recovered.
- 5:58Speaker 3: He did not.
- 5:58Speaker 1: It's being run back by Jorge down the sideline of
- 6:01Speaker 1: the thirty. The twenty gets away from Rudolph, who touchdown. Wow, Bengals.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Another defensive touchdown for Cincinnati. Has Pollard fumbled the ball,
- 6:13Speaker 1: failed to scoop it up, and Battle ran it back
- 6:16Speaker 1: for the score.
- 6:16Speaker 3: McKinley Jackson stripped it. McKinley Jackson got penetration and he
- 6:21Speaker 3: stripped the thing and man once that thing was on
- 6:23Speaker 3: the ground. Oh, he dropped, lost control of it before
- 6:26Speaker 3: he crossed the goal line. He started a celebration. Ooh,
- 6:30Speaker 3: he's at the half yard line. I'm not sure he
- 6:32Speaker 3: crossed the goal line before that ball came out of
- 6:35Speaker 3: his hands.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Ooh.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Seven catches for Oconquo. Rudolph will throw high pass baked off.
- 6:41Speaker 1: The Bengals are running it back. This is Josh Newton
- 6:44Speaker 1: and he goes down at the twenty eight yard line.
- 6:47Speaker 4: Wow.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Four interceptions for the Bengals today. Ten takeaways for the
- 6:52Speaker 1: two defenses combined. Second down and ten at the eighteen
- 6:55Speaker 1: of Cincinnati, the Bengals up by seventeen points. Rudolph to
- 6:58Speaker 1: throw short pass of the middle, caught on the run.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Tajy spears inside the five, spins away from Jordan Battle
- 7:04Speaker 1: and runs into the end zone for a Tennessee touchdown.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Third down and goal from the five for Row takes
- 7:10Speaker 1: the snap, hands it off. Chase Brown lowers the shoulder pads,
- 7:14Speaker 1: fighting for the goal lines. He's in touchdown Bengals with
- 7:19Speaker 1: one oh nine to go, the second touchdown of the
- 7:22Speaker 1: day for Chase Brown. Five seconds to go. This will
- 7:26Speaker 1: be the final play of the game. The Bengals lead
- 7:28Speaker 1: thirty seven to twenty one. Rudolph to throw under pressure.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Scrambling around to the left points into the end zone.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Throws and it is caught for a touchdown by Josh Wiley,
- 7:39Speaker 1: the Cincinnati native, with his second career touchdown catch. They
- 7:44Speaker 1: have both come against the Cincinnati Bengals, and the Tennessee
- 7:49Speaker 1: Titans end the game with a touchdown that makes the
- 7:51Speaker 1: final score a little bit closer. The final was thirty
- 7:56Speaker 1: seven twenty seven Bengals. Despite playing on the sore left knee,
- 8:01Speaker 1: Joe Burrow was terrific again, throwing three touchdown passes to
- 8:05Speaker 1: raise his league leading total to thirty six. That's a
- 8:09Speaker 1: new Bengals singles He's a record, topping Joe's previous high
- 8:12Speaker 1: of thirty five and twenty twenty two. He's also thrown
- 8:16Speaker 1: at least three touchdown passes in each of the last
- 8:19Speaker 1: six games, one of them on Sunday, went to his
- 8:23Speaker 1: old Ohio State college buddy Sam Hubbard.
- 8:26Speaker 5: Yeah, I was big playing the game. You know, I
- 8:28Speaker 5: had faith and Sam to go make that play. He's
- 8:30Speaker 5: got good hands and it's a play we've talked about.
- 8:33Speaker 5: So I think that was a four down situation. That's
- 8:35Speaker 5: why we ended up going with that one, and it
- 8:37Speaker 5: felt good. Yeah. I mean I stayed in Sam's dorm
- 8:41Speaker 5: on one of my first visits to to Ohio State.
- 8:44Speaker 5: He's been part of part of my life for a
- 8:46Speaker 5: long time. He's been a great friend, and you know,
- 8:50Speaker 5: really a guy that you can look up to when
- 8:52Speaker 5: you're young because he does things. He does things the
- 8:54Speaker 5: right way, works really hard, He's about the right things,
- 8:59Speaker 5: and you know, when you into the league, helps you
- 9:00Speaker 5: with your process. All the off field stuff that I do.
- 9:05Speaker 2: You know, a lot of it I got from Sam.
- 9:07Speaker 5: And you know, he's just a pros pro, has been
- 9:11Speaker 5: for a long time, works really hard at it, plays
- 9:14Speaker 5: great when he's in there. You just can't say enough
- 9:17Speaker 5: good things about him.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Hubbard left the game shortly after that with a knee injury.
- 9:23Speaker 1: He told reporters after the game that he'll get an
- 9:26Speaker 1: MRI done to determine the severity. Jabar Chase finished with
- 9:30Speaker 1: nine catches for ninety four yards and still leads the
- 9:33Speaker 1: Triple Crown categories with one hundred two catches for one
- 9:38Speaker 1: four hundred and thirteen yards and fifteen touchdowns. Then there's
- 9:43Speaker 1: t Higgins from oak Ridge, Tennessee, about two and a
- 9:46Speaker 1: half hours from Nashville. He had five catches for eighty
- 9:49Speaker 1: eight yards and a touchdown. And I caught up with
- 9:52Speaker 1: Tea after the game. See, you're back in the stadium
- 9:56Speaker 1: where you were honored twice as mister Football in the
- 9:58Speaker 1: state of Tennessee. What's it like to then come back
- 10:01Speaker 1: in here and have a big game.
- 10:02Speaker 6: That's always fun coming back home, you know what I mean. Shoot,
- 10:06Speaker 6: the past two times, you know I've been back and
- 10:08Speaker 6: i'd have a good game, So you know, man, it's
- 10:10Speaker 6: always fun coming to play back home and find the
- 10:11Speaker 6: family from in front of friends and man, it's just,
- 10:15Speaker 6: you know, I'm grateful for for everything.
- 10:17Speaker 3: Man.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Let's talk about the deep touchdown pass you caught from Joe.
- 10:20Speaker 1: I don't know if he's seen a replay or anything yet,
- 10:22Speaker 1: but he got flattened. He's on his back, he throws
- 10:25Speaker 1: it up to you and the next thing we know,
- 10:27Speaker 1: he's on his back giving the touchdown and signal because
- 10:30Speaker 1: you made a play for him.
- 10:31Speaker 4: Yeah. Actually just saw that.
- 10:32Speaker 3: Man.
- 10:33Speaker 6: You know, he trusted me. You know, give me a ball.
- 10:35Speaker 6: You'll go working on that in all weekend. You know,
- 10:38Speaker 6: he trusted me, and you know I just came down
- 10:40Speaker 6: and make it play.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Devin Cochrane started at left tackle today. He had one
- 10:44Speaker 1: offensive snap in his NFL career prior to this. I
- 10:47Speaker 1: thought he and the entire offensive line did.
- 10:50Speaker 2: A nice job.
- 10:51Speaker 6: Oh yeah, they did a hell of a job, you know,
- 10:53Speaker 6: you know game and gave room for chasing run and
- 10:55Speaker 6: you know, hass Off to down and haus Off to
- 10:57Speaker 6: Chase Brown as well.
- 10:58Speaker 1: I never asked you this question. When you're playing on
- 11:00Speaker 1: the road, wearing the helmet and all the noise you
- 11:03Speaker 1: hear down on the field, can you hear the Bengals
- 11:05Speaker 1: fans that travel and say tea every time you make
- 11:08Speaker 1: a catch?
- 11:08Speaker 6: Oh yeah, you know, you know Cincinnati fans they travel,
- 11:11Speaker 6: will you know what I mean?
- 11:13Speaker 2: Any in every.
- 11:13Speaker 4: Game and you know, and they.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Have that team.
- 11:16Speaker 6: You know, it's just a good filly, you know, I mean,
- 11:17Speaker 6: especially back home.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Man.
- 11:19Speaker 6: It's like I feel like even NY fans with saying
- 11:22Speaker 6: te just because I know I'm back home.
- 11:23Speaker 1: So it's been an interesting week beginning on Monday night,
- 11:27Speaker 1: your quarterback publicly campaigning in hopes that you'll continue to
- 11:31Speaker 1: be a Bengal going forward.
- 11:33Speaker 2: What has the week been like for you?
- 11:35Speaker 6: For me, it's just been folks on ball of trying
- 11:37Speaker 6: to put my best foot forward to get a win.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Tea recently changed agents and now shares one with his
- 11:44Speaker 1: running mate Jamar Chase. On defense, Mike Hilton had an
- 11:49Speaker 1: interception and three tackles in the backfield. Tennessee was also
- 11:53Speaker 1: the site of his huge playoff interception in the red
- 11:57Speaker 1: zone in twenty twenty one. I talked to the Bengals
- 12:00Speaker 1: fearless slot corner Mike Hilton. I thought you had one
- 12:05Speaker 1: hell of a game today. You were in the backfield
- 12:08Speaker 1: multiple times, you had one of four Bengals interceptions. Describe
- 12:13Speaker 1: but your own performance today, what'd you think?
- 12:15Speaker 7: You know, this is one of my better performances of
- 12:17Speaker 7: the year. For some reason, when we come to Nashville,
- 12:20Speaker 7: I feel like I always have some of my best games,
- 12:22Speaker 7: and you know, I was just out there making plays
- 12:24Speaker 7: for my team and trying to help us win.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Your timing was so good on some of your blitzes today.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Did that have anything to do with Fastinger Brian Callahan
- 12:33Speaker 1: coach team and kind of knowing what he likes to
- 12:35Speaker 1: do offensively?
- 12:36Speaker 4: Yeah, really, that's just me doing what I do.
- 12:37Speaker 7: Best, you know, getting in the backfield time and know
- 12:39Speaker 7: if this is making plays. I know I'm a guy
- 12:44Speaker 7: that team's game playing for, so I know they kind
- 12:46Speaker 7: of focus on me and I just try to keep
- 12:48Speaker 7: my belts.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Four interceptions, six takeaways. The defenses obviously had some games
- 12:54Speaker 1: they didn't go very well, but you made the plays
- 12:57Speaker 1: today that helped Cincinnati overcome so turnovers and penalties.
- 13:01Speaker 7: Yeah, man, we haven't played to our standard throughout the year,
- 13:03Speaker 7: but these last two games we've been playing well, uh,
- 13:06Speaker 7: getting off the field, getting turnovers, and you know, we've
- 13:09Speaker 7: been able to win a couple of games.
- 13:10Speaker 2: So we just gotta keep stacking.
- 13:11Speaker 1: And keep working. Gino still had a pick six, Jordan
- 13:15Speaker 1: Maddele should have had a touchdown. You're shaking your head.
- 13:18Speaker 7: Man, disappointed? Man, that's you know, that was the moment
- 13:21Speaker 7: he those type of guys live for, and he just
- 13:24Speaker 7: gotta be smart and you know, taking them all through
- 13:25Speaker 7: the end zone.
- 13:26Speaker 1: You know, it's easy for me to say, right, I
- 13:29Speaker 1: always wonder why guys don't wait and told her like
- 13:32Speaker 1: twill yards into the end zone before they start thinking
- 13:35Speaker 1: about a celebration.
- 13:36Speaker 7: Yeah, you know, you you those chansus. You just try
- 13:39Speaker 7: to take advantage of it and you celebrate a little
- 13:41Speaker 7: prematurely and stuff like that happens.
- 13:43Speaker 4: You know.
- 13:43Speaker 7: Uh, he definitely feels bad for it, and everybody's been
- 13:46Speaker 7: making them here, but we know next time, you know,
- 13:48Speaker 7: he'll he'll take it all the way through.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Two wins down, you hope for three to go to
- 13:53Speaker 1: keep her a playoff hopes alive. You got the first
- 13:55Speaker 1: two done and now you got a chance with two
- 13:57Speaker 1: home games coming up.
- 13:58Speaker 7: Yeah, you know we still we're still alive, you know,
- 14:00Speaker 7: still fighting for our playoff lives. Man, he's last two
- 14:03Speaker 7: Winston in Big fours. Man, you know we got a
- 14:05Speaker 7: deep division games Sunday, so we got to prepare and
- 14:08Speaker 7: then make sure we gonna go out.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Next Keu, congrats on the pick and the tackles for
- 14:11Speaker 1: loss and most importantly to win.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Yes, sir, thank you.
- 14:13Speaker 4: I keep going.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Then there's Jordan Battle, who had ten tackles and should
- 14:19Speaker 1: have had a touchdown, but after picking up a fumble
- 14:21Speaker 1: and returning at sixty yards, he lost control of the
- 14:25Speaker 1: ball at the one yard line. Battle insists it was
- 14:29Speaker 1: not a premature celebration, just you know.
- 14:34Speaker 8: Trying to switch the ball on to my to my
- 14:35Speaker 8: left man. Uh no, no, trying to intuitly drop the ball.
- 14:38Speaker 8: I know that's what y'all want, oil, But I no,
- 14:41Speaker 8: I did not. I did not intendinately drop the ball,
- 14:43Speaker 8: just trying to switch it over to my opposite hand,
- 14:45Speaker 8: you know.
- 14:46Speaker 1: I just you were not beginning a celebration.
- 14:50Speaker 8: No, never, I was just trying to cross the line
- 14:52Speaker 8: and didn't celebrate. I was gonna celebrate regardless. But after
- 14:55Speaker 8: I crossed the line, not before.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Did you know right away that you weren't in when
- 14:59Speaker 1: it slipt out?
- 15:00Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 15:01Speaker 2: Yeah, if you.
- 15:01Speaker 8: I mean, I don't know if y'all saw, like if
- 15:03Speaker 8: they can see it on the TV. But like if
- 15:04Speaker 8: you saw like on like the Titans, the Titans big screen,
- 15:08Speaker 8: you see me like telling I think Michael's right there,
- 15:10Speaker 8: he's trying to celebrate me. I'm like, nah, nah, I
- 15:12Speaker 8: think I just dropped the ball. So I'm not celebrating
- 15:14Speaker 8: right now. We got the w and that's all I wanted. Man,
- 15:17Speaker 8: So I'm excited. It's my birthday or my birthday weekend.
- 15:20Speaker 8: My birthday yesterday, So that's all I wanted this weekend
- 15:22Speaker 8: with my birth was a birthday gift.
- 15:24Speaker 3: Uh with a W.
- 15:26Speaker 2: We got it.
- 15:26Speaker 1: You might have got a birthday gift, g I f
- 15:30Speaker 1: because you lost the ball.
- 15:31Speaker 8: Yeah yeah, I might. I might have got a bunch
- 15:33Speaker 8: of gifts.
- 15:34Speaker 2: I already know. I know they're coming at me, but
- 15:36Speaker 2: I'm not looking.
- 15:37Speaker 8: I'm not looking.
- 15:37Speaker 2: I'm enjoying the win.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Hey, six takeaways for the defense.
- 15:41Speaker 8: Thank Yeah, Yeah, we love it. That's that's what we
- 15:43Speaker 8: love to see, Cities takeaways. You know, obviously you've been
- 15:46Speaker 8: selling you know, early season and mid season, but just
- 15:49Speaker 8: to see the last two games, how he progress.
- 15:51Speaker 2: Hopefully we keep doing that, you know, these next.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Next three or three or three games? Yeah, next three game.
- 15:55Speaker 8: I hope we keep doing this next three games, you know,
- 15:57Speaker 8: keep building and the season the right way.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Battle by the way, turn twenty four on Saturday. The
- 16:04Speaker 1: win keeps the Bengals playoff hopes alive, as they pulled
- 16:07Speaker 1: even with the Dolphins and Colts, who both lost on Sunday.
- 16:11Speaker 1: All three teams are six and eight. Denver one to
- 16:15Speaker 1: improve to nine to five, and the Chargers lost to
- 16:19Speaker 1: fall to eight and six. So here's what has to
- 16:22Speaker 1: happen for the Bengals to make it. They need to
- 16:25Speaker 1: win their last three games and hope that Denver loses
- 16:29Speaker 1: its last three or that the Chargers lose their last three.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Those two teams face each other next week. A Denver
- 16:38Speaker 1: loss would probably be more helpful. Additionally, the Dolphins and
- 16:43Speaker 1: Colts need to lose at least one of their final three.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Now let's hear what Zach Taylor had to say. Is
- 16:51Speaker 1: he spent a few minutes with Dave Lapham after the game.
- 16:54Speaker 3: On seven straight possessions after they scored their second touchdown,
- 16:58Speaker 3: they went fumble interception, interception, three and out, pick six,
- 17:04Speaker 3: fumble interception, seven straight possessions.
- 17:07Speaker 9: Are defense did a great job taking it off of them,
- 17:09Speaker 9: you know. So you got to catch the ones that
- 17:10Speaker 9: throw to you and find ways to create the fumbles
- 17:12Speaker 9: the loose balls, and our guys did that and for
- 17:14Speaker 9: the most part finished with them. You know, I know,
- 17:16Speaker 9: we had the one that's unacceptable. We can't have the touchback.
- 17:19Speaker 9: But my point is returned those for big gains, you know,
- 17:23Speaker 9: and put us in really good field possessional offense.
- 17:26Speaker 3: The penalty is uncharacteristic. I think it ended up fourteen
- 17:29Speaker 3: for one hundred and fourteen yards for the Bengals, in
- 17:31Speaker 3: twelve for at least one hundred might might have been
- 17:34Speaker 3: one hundred and twenty or one hundred and ten anyway
- 17:35Speaker 3: for a Tennessee. So, I mean it was a strange game.
- 17:39Speaker 3: Double digit turnovers and then both teams having double digit
- 17:42Speaker 3: penalties with over one hundred yards apiece.
- 17:44Speaker 9: Yeah, a lot of those were embarrassing. You know, we
- 17:46Speaker 9: can't have the procedural self that we had happened today
- 17:49Speaker 9: that set us back and put you into second fifteen
- 17:51Speaker 9: and the next thing, you know, it's the possessions dead.
- 17:54Speaker 9: And so we got to be better. We pride ourselves
- 17:56Speaker 9: on being great in that area, being best in the league,
- 17:58Speaker 9: and today wasn't up to that.
- 17:59Speaker 3: Stow Devin cockran and I caught up with him as well.
- 18:02Speaker 3: I mean I took my cap to the kid. I know,
- 18:04Speaker 3: the first the first series maybe a little bit goosey,
- 18:07Speaker 3: but I mean he settled down and I thought I
- 18:10Speaker 3: thought he was very solid out there.
- 18:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:12Speaker 9: I thought he really calmed down as the game went on,
- 18:14Speaker 9: and we tried to help him the best we could.
- 18:15Speaker 9: But he did a good job. He's earned that opportunity
- 18:17Speaker 9: and we had confidence in him. That's why we elevated
- 18:19Speaker 9: him and signed him into the fifty three and trusted
- 18:22Speaker 9: him to go out there, and he did a great
- 18:23Speaker 9: job for us.
- 18:24Speaker 3: Chase Brown continues to impress. I mean, ninety seven yards
- 18:28Speaker 3: on twenty five carries and had it. You know, he's
- 18:30Speaker 3: a threat out of the backfield catching the football as well.
- 18:32Speaker 3: I mean, when you have the weapons you have in
- 18:35Speaker 3: the passing attack and he's part of it, and then
- 18:38Speaker 3: him complimenting in the running game, it's tough.
- 18:41Speaker 9: Yeah, just anyway you can get him the ball. You know,
- 18:42Speaker 9: he's another weapon we have that has an opportunity to
- 18:45Speaker 9: be explosive, and you know, we're happy to have him
- 18:48Speaker 9: and we try to find out as many ways as
- 18:49Speaker 9: we can to use him.
- 18:50Speaker 3: Okay, everybody, everybody wants to know what you and Kelly
- 18:54Speaker 3: talk about when you guys caught up pregame or post
- 18:57Speaker 3: game or was it just all football all the time?
- 18:58Speaker 2: Today?
- 18:58Speaker 9: We talking now off to where there's no major conversations.
- 19:01Speaker 9: You know, I'm happy for the opportunity he has and
- 19:03Speaker 9: pulling form the rest of the way.
- 19:04Speaker 3: I know, you guys not just football friends, but you know,
- 19:07Speaker 3: are really close, really really good friends as well. And
- 19:11Speaker 3: I know you you mentioned it, you've you've played, had
- 19:13Speaker 3: to coach against friends in the past, and I mean
- 19:15Speaker 3: that it's interesting I'm having to come up with that
- 19:18Speaker 3: kind of focus. And is it tough to do or
- 19:20Speaker 3: the more you do it repetition breeds comfort level?
- 19:23Speaker 2: What's it like?
- 19:23Speaker 9: Yeah, no, it's happened so many times for me that
- 19:26Speaker 9: it's just another game. You know, it's almost it'd be
- 19:28Speaker 9: awkward for a week to go by that I didn't
- 19:30Speaker 9: wasn't so close to someone on the other team. You know,
- 19:32Speaker 9: at this point the league is very small. Worked for
- 19:34Speaker 9: several different teams now and had a lot of people
- 19:37Speaker 9: I respect in the industry, and this staff was one
- 19:40Speaker 9: of those staffs.
- 19:41Speaker 3: So early in the football game, you you fall behind,
- 19:44Speaker 3: but you know you come come roaring back and and
- 19:47Speaker 3: and you know when the football game handily, the last
- 19:50Speaker 3: possession was kind of crazy how they how they score
- 19:54Speaker 3: on that one. But overall, give me your assessment. I mean,
- 19:57Speaker 3: Obviously we talked about some things. I know you want
- 19:59Speaker 3: to get clean dump to turnovers, the penalties, but how
- 20:02Speaker 3: about from an execution standpoint, anything to stand out to
- 20:04Speaker 3: you very positively.
- 20:05Speaker 9: I think, aside from the pildies, we executed really well
- 20:08Speaker 9: on offense and to create turnovers. I mean, that's the
- 20:11Speaker 9: name of the game on defense, and so those guys
- 20:13Speaker 9: did that and we're able to give us five extra
- 20:15Speaker 9: possessions and that's you can't ask for much more from
- 20:17Speaker 9: the defense that way. So there's a lot of positives
- 20:20Speaker 9: there to build from, and then there's some things that
- 20:22Speaker 9: will clean up as well.
- 20:23Speaker 3: So you won two straight road games. I don't care
- 20:25Speaker 3: where you're playing the National Football League.
- 20:27Speaker 4: You went on the road.
- 20:28Speaker 3: That's an accomplishment done two weeks in a row. Now
- 20:30Speaker 3: you go back to pay Corps the two straight home games.
- 20:34Speaker 3: Crowd better be in full throat because here come to Bengals.
- 20:36Speaker 2: It's good.
- 20:37Speaker 9: You know, it's a divisional game, big one for us,
- 20:39Speaker 9: chance to go to and over, it's the divisional rival,
- 20:41Speaker 9: chance to win three games in a row, chance to
- 20:43Speaker 9: get back on track at home. There's a lot of
- 20:44Speaker 9: reasons why this needs to be our best week.
- 20:46Speaker 2: Can appreciate you, coach, all right, thanks sav Up.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Next the one o'clock home game next Sunday against the
- 20:52Speaker 1: three and eleven Cleveland Browns. Jamis Winston threw three interceptions
- 20:57Speaker 1: and was sacked five times in fourteen point loss to
- 21:01Speaker 1: the Chiefs. On Sunday, The Bengals Booth Podcast is brought
- 21:04Speaker 1: to you by pay Corps, proud to be the Bengals
- 21:07Speaker 1: official HR software provider, by Alta Fiber future proof Fiber
- 21:12Speaker 1: Internet designed to elevate your home, business and community to
- 21:15Speaker 1: a new level, and by Kettering Health the best care
- 21:19Speaker 1: for the best fans. Kettering Health is the official healthcare
- 21:22Speaker 1: provider of the Bengals. Now time for the radio guys
- 21:26Speaker 1: recap Dave Lapham. That game was insane. Ten turnovers, more
- 21:34Speaker 1: than twenty penalties, a touchdown that didn't count because the
- 21:38Speaker 1: guy running into the end zone lost control of the
- 21:41Speaker 1: ball inside the one. This thing had just about everything,
- 21:44Speaker 1: but most importantly from the Bengals perspective, they came out
- 21:47Speaker 1: on top by ten.
- 21:48Speaker 2: No question.
- 21:49Speaker 3: I think it came down to a seven possession sequence.
- 21:54Speaker 3: After the Titans scored their second touchdown, they went fumble interception, interception,
- 22:00Speaker 3: three and out. Punt the football away, pick six, bumble interception.
- 22:04Speaker 3: I don't care if you're playing a pee wee football team,
- 22:08Speaker 3: You're not gonna win in the NFL doing that.
- 22:10Speaker 2: But the Bengals had their share of blunders as well.
- 22:13Speaker 3: And you know, we mentioned during the broadcast, you have
- 22:16Speaker 3: four turnovers in a game as a player and your
- 22:19Speaker 3: plus two. It's like, what I mean, that's that's the
- 22:23Speaker 3: sign of a crazy day, and it certainly was.
- 22:25Speaker 1: That Tennessee had one sack and six quarterback hits and
- 22:29Speaker 1: the Bengals had their third team left tackle out there,
- 22:32Speaker 1: Devin Cochrane. He had played one offensive snap in his
- 22:35Speaker 1: NFL career prior to today. How much credit does he
- 22:38Speaker 1: deserve for this win?
- 22:39Speaker 2: I think a ton and Frank Pollock two.
- 22:42Speaker 3: I tried to get Frank to the three of Us talk,
- 22:45Speaker 3: and Frank's like, I appreciate that, he said, but the
- 22:47Speaker 3: kid deserves to to.
- 22:49Speaker 2: Get the love.
- 22:49Speaker 3: Go talk to to Cochran and and I totally agree
- 22:53Speaker 3: respect Coach Pollock's sentiments there. You know, I think he
- 22:57Speaker 3: was a little bit jumpy, you know, at first, but
- 22:59Speaker 3: gonna into a groove and settled down a little bit,
- 23:01Speaker 3: and he was very effusive in his praise of how
- 23:05Speaker 3: Frank has developed him, and you know, he feels like
- 23:09Speaker 3: he knows the offense, and that part of wasn't going
- 23:12Speaker 3: to be a problem. He didn't find out until in
- 23:15Speaker 3: the locker room before the game, like three hours before
- 23:18Speaker 3: the game, that he was actually going to start the
- 23:19Speaker 3: football game. Everybody was crossing their things that Cody Ford
- 23:23Speaker 3: would be able to make the dance, because sometimes those
- 23:26Speaker 3: mixers can be miraculous. But it wasn't to be, and man,
- 23:31Speaker 3: he got an opportunity. He stepped up and took full advantage.
- 23:34Speaker 1: We got off the bus about the same time and
- 23:36Speaker 1: walked out out of the field before the game, and
- 23:38Speaker 1: it just so happened. We were walking out behind Joe
- 23:41Speaker 1: Burrow as he went out to warm up, and he
- 23:43Speaker 1: looked like a basketball guard who was doing kind of
- 23:46Speaker 1: like a crossover dribble where he would shift his late
- 23:49Speaker 1: weight to one side then go back to the other side,
- 23:52Speaker 1: and he was clearly testing how his left knee was
- 23:54Speaker 1: going to feel. Had a brace on that knee. But man,
- 23:57Speaker 1: watching him play, you really wouldn't know it much.
- 23:59Speaker 3: He played great, he really did. I mean he uh,
- 24:02Speaker 3: you know, he got out of pocket when he had to.
- 24:04Speaker 3: He didn't do it as much as he normally does,
- 24:06Speaker 3: but when he did, you know, he's putting in a
- 24:08Speaker 3: pretty good gear and he's still he has that you know,
- 24:12Speaker 3: elusiveness to climb the pocket and just the uh he
- 24:16Speaker 3: has the eyes and the sides in the back of
- 24:18Speaker 3: his helmet and when to step up and slidestepping those
- 24:21Speaker 3: kinds of things.
- 24:21Speaker 2: But uh, yeah, a guy.
- 24:26Speaker 3: Like him, I can't tell you the inspiration that gives
- 24:29Speaker 3: you in a huddle. You know, it's everybody this time
- 24:32Speaker 3: of year. We've talked about it before them. Everybody's kind
- 24:33Speaker 3: of beating up. Everybody's kind of you know, man, these
- 24:36Speaker 3: are the dog days. Man, you gotta get through it.
- 24:37Speaker 3: It's like, suck it up, get get loose, get going,
- 24:40Speaker 3: and you get your quarterback who's hurt, I mean legitimately
- 24:43Speaker 3: hurt and just doing everything he can to get out
- 24:46Speaker 3: there and play football. And I think part of it,
- 24:49Speaker 3: all that movie he is doing, is just getting ready,
- 24:52Speaker 3: getting used to the apparatus that was on his knee
- 24:54Speaker 3: and seeing the differences in the field of it and
- 24:56Speaker 3: all that all that kind of thing. But players respond
- 25:00Speaker 3: to that. I mean, that's leadership to you. Just it's priceless.
- 25:05Speaker 3: You can't put a tag on it.
- 25:07Speaker 1: And with his sore knee, the Bengals have to feel
- 25:09Speaker 1: great that they're not playing on Thursday night this week
- 25:12Speaker 1: is originally scheduled against Cleveland. The game got moved to Sunday,
- 25:15Speaker 1: and Joe gets a few extra days for that need
- 25:17Speaker 1: to feel better.
- 25:18Speaker 2: Great point.
- 25:19Speaker 3: Great point, you know, because he's at a stage now where,
- 25:23Speaker 3: all right, he injured, it, went through some rehab, now
- 25:26Speaker 3: went out and tested it again, and it doesn't sound
- 25:31Speaker 3: like or seem like, you know, it got worse. So
- 25:34Speaker 3: now he'll be able to rehab from a higher recovery
- 25:38Speaker 3: point and even be better for Sunday. Thursday might have
- 25:42Speaker 3: been a little doubtful in terms of how much better
- 25:45Speaker 3: it was going to be with those extra days.
- 25:47Speaker 2: Every day in an injury like this, every day is significant.
- 25:50Speaker 1: I spoke to Mike Hilton after the game. He said
- 25:53Speaker 1: he thought this is one of his best games and
- 25:55Speaker 1: a Bengals unicorn.
- 25:56Speaker 2: I can't dispute that.
- 25:57Speaker 3: I mean, Louis an Roumo to him remarkably well, like
- 26:02Speaker 3: he always does. I mean, once once he starts getting
- 26:05Speaker 3: on a roll with Mike Kilton, Mike Hilton responds Blue
- 26:08Speaker 3: response to Mike. Mike responds to Lou And it's like synergistic,
- 26:12Speaker 3: you know, one plus one equals three. They're going to
- 26:14Speaker 3: be making a lot of plays together, beautiful music together.
- 26:17Speaker 3: And I think, you know, he gets to a point
- 26:20Speaker 3: where in the huddle just call him a number again.
- 26:22Speaker 3: Hey man, this is great. You just go out there
- 26:25Speaker 3: and make him look good and respond and make a play.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Tennessee's a bad team. That's eleven losses, but it's the NFL.
- 26:32Speaker 1: They went on the road and beat Houston a few
- 26:33Speaker 1: weeks ago, a very good team. So you'll happily take
- 26:37Speaker 1: a road win anytime you can get one. With back
- 26:40Speaker 1: to back road wins, now at Dallas and at Tennessee,
- 26:43Speaker 1: the Bengals have put themselves in a position to go
- 26:45Speaker 1: home win a couple of games if they can, and
- 26:48Speaker 1: be five hundred to the one game to go.
- 26:50Speaker 3: Yeah, and you know that's they dug a hole, there's
- 26:54Speaker 3: no question. But now you can at least see light,
- 26:58Speaker 3: you know, you know, it's so deep in the whole
- 27:00Speaker 3: that the light's hard to find. And keep prowling, keep
- 27:03Speaker 3: working your way up the sides of that hole, and
- 27:06Speaker 3: pretty soon you know, you stick your head out over
- 27:08Speaker 3: the top. I mean, if they could run the table
- 27:11Speaker 3: and finish with a winning record, who would have thunked
- 27:13Speaker 3: at better?
- 27:14Speaker 1: Try to cut down on those penalties next week though,
- 27:17Speaker 1: at home against the Browns.
- 27:19Speaker 2: No doubt.
- 27:19Speaker 3: I mean you're to have four turnovers and I think
- 27:25Speaker 3: it's I think they ended up with twelve penalties. Yeah,
- 27:27Speaker 3: twelve penalties for one hundred and ten yards. That doesn't
- 27:31Speaker 3: computer victory very often. Not only did a computer victory
- 27:34Speaker 3: a computer to two score victory a ten point win
- 27:37Speaker 3: because the opponent was worse. I mean they had six turnovers,
- 27:42Speaker 3: they had fourteen penalties.
- 27:43Speaker 2: For more yards. I mean that was crazy with the
- 27:48Speaker 2: capital C.
- 27:50Speaker 1: That puts a rap on the Tennessee game. Now it's
- 27:53Speaker 1: time for this week's fun facts segment, where you get
- 27:56Speaker 1: to know the person under the pads. Time for some
- 28:00Speaker 1: fun facts with wide receiver Jermaine Burton. You were born
- 28:03Speaker 1: in Georgia, but played high school football for a while
- 28:06Speaker 1: in California. What do you consider to be home now.
- 28:10Speaker 4: Atlanta, Georgia.
- 28:12Speaker 10: You know, I did my last years of high school
- 28:14Speaker 10: out in California, my last junior year and senior year
- 28:17Speaker 10: out there. You know, I've made a lot of great connects,
- 28:20Speaker 10: network with a lot of great people.
- 28:22Speaker 4: But yeah, you know, Atlanta's still home to me.
- 28:24Speaker 10: I just you know, football kind of brent and branched
- 28:26Speaker 10: me away from it, but you know it's where my
- 28:28Speaker 10: family is resides and you know still list to this day.
- 28:31Speaker 1: Those are both warm weather destinations. How do you deal
- 28:35Speaker 1: with cold?
- 28:38Speaker 10: I deal with it accordingly, you know, however cold it is.
- 28:41Speaker 10: You know, I dress accordingly. You know, I might do
- 28:44Speaker 10: the most some times even if it's not that cold.
- 28:46Speaker 10: But overall, I think it's kind of dope. I think
- 28:49Speaker 10: it's kind of fun when you kind of get your
- 28:50Speaker 10: blood for on and you know, you realize you're out
- 28:52Speaker 10: there playing in some really cool weather.
- 28:55Speaker 4: So it's a mind thing.
- 28:57Speaker 1: It sounds like you're really close with your mom and
- 28:59Speaker 1: your sister. Tell us what you love and respect about
- 29:02Speaker 1: those two women.
- 29:03Speaker 10: No matter what that they let me grow up and
- 29:05Speaker 10: be a man on my own and let me make
- 29:06Speaker 10: my own decisions and trusted me in every decision I
- 29:09Speaker 10: made and was right there with me to support me
- 29:11Speaker 10: every step of the way.
- 29:12Speaker 1: We're visiting the Jermaine Burton. You were one of the
- 29:15Speaker 1: highest rated recruits in the country. Do you remember your
- 29:18Speaker 1: first college offer and how you felt when you received it.
- 29:22Speaker 4: Yeah, that's from the University of Florida. It was dope.
- 29:24Speaker 4: It was actually a crazy feeling.
- 29:26Speaker 10: I was a freshman in high school and I went
- 29:28Speaker 10: on a seven on seventh trip and on that trip,
- 29:31Speaker 10: we were touring around like UCF Florida, even though we went.
- 29:37Speaker 4: To FIU were FAU one of those.
- 29:40Speaker 10: At the time, Florida was my dream school because just
- 29:44Speaker 10: because like my cousin played there.
- 29:46Speaker 4: He also played for the Steelers as well.
- 29:48Speaker 10: So my family is big fans of you know, Florida
- 29:51Speaker 10: and the Pittsburgh and.
- 29:55Speaker 4: So yeah, I thought that was kind of a dope feeling.
- 29:57Speaker 1: So if that started in ninth grade, it had to
- 29:59Speaker 1: be be crazy. Did you enjoy the recruiting process or
- 30:02Speaker 1: did you find it to be stressful?
- 30:04Speaker 4: Maybe towards the end. Overall, I enjoyed the entire process.
- 30:08Speaker 10: But maybe towards the end it probably was stressful because
- 30:10Speaker 10: there were so.
- 30:11Speaker 4: Many coaches texting and calling my phone.
- 30:14Speaker 10: And I didn't kind of know what I I didn't
- 30:17Speaker 10: know where I was at.
- 30:18Speaker 4: Mentally, I was like, I don't know where else would go.
- 30:21Speaker 1: So so in twenty nineteen, you went on a visit
- 30:24Speaker 1: to LSU and that was their undefeated national championship year,
- 30:28Speaker 1: Joe Burrow at quarterback, Justin Jefferson and Jamar Chase among
- 30:32Speaker 1: the wide receivers. What do you remember about that visit
- 30:35Speaker 1: and seeing those guys at that stage of their life.
- 30:37Speaker 4: It was dope. You know.
- 30:38Speaker 10: I spent a lot of time with Jamar and Justin
- 30:41Speaker 10: on those visits. Yeah, that on my visit there, Jamar
- 30:45Speaker 10: had hosted me, and yeah, it was vibes.
- 30:47Speaker 4: It was a great time. We were chilling. Yeah, a
- 30:50Speaker 4: lot of fun memories.
- 30:52Speaker 1: We're hanging out with Jermaine Burton. You wound up spending
- 30:54Speaker 1: two years at Georgia and two years at Alabama. You
- 30:57Speaker 1: were part of a national championship team at Georgia. How
- 31:00Speaker 1: did playing for Kirby Smart and Nick Saban and playing
- 31:04Speaker 1: with so many great players prepare you for the NFL?
- 31:09Speaker 4: I would say a lot of.
- 31:12Speaker 10: A lot of IVE seen a lot of players go
- 31:14Speaker 10: through a lot of different things. You know, whether if
- 31:17Speaker 10: I was on Georgia or Bama, I've seen a lot
- 31:19Speaker 10: of players go through so many things and have to
- 31:21Speaker 10: make kind of decisions that you know, young grown men
- 31:24Speaker 10: usually don't make, but you know, they have to make
- 31:26Speaker 10: for their family.
- 31:27Speaker 4: So I've I've had a lot of.
- 31:28Speaker 10: Talks and advice from into this day from those guys
- 31:32Speaker 10: from from the Georgia and Bama team. So it helps
- 31:36Speaker 10: me a lot because I feel like I have a
- 31:37Speaker 10: lot of more resources than people think I pretty much.
- 31:40Speaker 10: And you know, I have players on every team like that.
- 31:42Speaker 10: I've teammates on every team in the NFL, and you know,
- 31:45Speaker 10: I'm close with a lot of them, and so yeah,
- 31:48Speaker 10: I think it's.
- 31:48Speaker 4: A dope feeling to me.
- 31:49Speaker 10: More importantly, I feel like I've networked in and connected
- 31:51Speaker 10: with a lot of those guys, So I have a
- 31:53Speaker 10: lot of resources, you know, from those guys, I can
- 31:56Speaker 10: reach out to them anytime if I need anything or
- 31:58Speaker 10: you know, have a question or this or anything, you know.
- 32:01Speaker 10: So I think that's pretty dope. I think that's a
- 32:03Speaker 10: big plus side to my career.
- 32:05Speaker 1: Before the draft, he trained with former Bengals wide receiver TJ.
- 32:09Speaker 1: Hushman Zada, and the three of us did a podcast
- 32:11Speaker 1: together earlier this year. TJ was a seventh round pick
- 32:15Speaker 1: by the Bengals. He could name every wide receiver taken
- 32:19Speaker 1: before him in the draft that year. I'm guessing he
- 32:21Speaker 1: probably still can do that. You were a third round pick.
- 32:25Speaker 1: There were twelve Rode receivers taken before you. As those
- 32:29Speaker 1: names were going off the board, were you getting ticked
- 32:32Speaker 1: off by seeing some guys that you thought, you know what,
- 32:34Speaker 1: I'm better than that guy?
- 32:35Speaker 2: Oh?
- 32:36Speaker 10: Yeah, And you know, everybody's story is different. Everybody, everybody's
- 32:41Speaker 10: legacy is different, and it's so special to them and
- 32:44Speaker 10: unique to the to them and each and everybody individually.
- 32:48Speaker 10: But yeah, one I felt that there was definitely a
- 32:51Speaker 10: fire in my heart. And you know, regardless of what
- 32:53Speaker 10: anything happens, you know, I'm still working and working and
- 32:56Speaker 10: working and working and working.
- 32:57Speaker 4: And that's one thing that's not going to change.
- 32:58Speaker 10: And one thing I learned about that when I was younger,
- 33:01Speaker 10: the more I kept working and working and working, I
- 33:03Speaker 10: might not have seen the results as quickly as I
- 33:05Speaker 10: wanted to, but they eventually came. And that's one thing
- 33:10Speaker 10: I truly believe in because there's nothing else you can do.
- 33:13Speaker 10: It's one thing that you can control of. You know
- 33:15Speaker 10: how much better you are getting. So yeah, I feel
- 33:18Speaker 10: like I felt like my story is going to be amazing.
- 33:21Speaker 1: Some wild card topics now for Jermaine Burton. Your Twitter
- 33:24Speaker 1: handle is NASA main three, a reference to your interest
- 33:30Speaker 1: in space. When did that start?
- 33:33Speaker 4: When I was a kid? I don't know what.
- 33:35Speaker 10: It was, probably right before I kind of hit my
- 33:38Speaker 10: teenage years, probably, I don't know, Probably when I was
- 33:42Speaker 10: like nine, ten eleven. I just used to be on
- 33:45Speaker 10: YouTube watching a bunch of random stuff and looking up
- 33:49Speaker 10: a bunch of different random stuff. So I got into
- 33:50Speaker 10: like a bunch of space like videos and it turned
- 33:53Speaker 10: into that, and something was about it just had a
- 33:56Speaker 10: certain kind of interest to me, like I wanted to
- 33:59Speaker 10: know more about like space and all kinds of stuff
- 34:01Speaker 10: and what's going on out there.
- 34:03Speaker 4: And it was just.
- 34:03Speaker 10: Something that was kind of like became a hobby to
- 34:06Speaker 10: me of like, uh, looking up all that kind of stuff.
- 34:10Speaker 10: Like like that's why when like space ex became a
- 34:12Speaker 10: thing with Elon Musk and stuff like that, I was
- 34:14Speaker 10: so I was so heavily invested into that because I thought,
- 34:18Speaker 10: I truly believe that Elon Musk is like gonna take
- 34:20Speaker 10: our technology and our and what we can do until further,
- 34:25Speaker 10: like further. So I'm excited to see what he'll do
- 34:27Speaker 10: with that. But overall, it's just an interest. Like that's
- 34:30Speaker 10: something that just caught my eyes and young and then
- 34:33Speaker 10: still does to this day.
- 34:34Speaker 1: You know, you told me during during training camp that
- 34:36Speaker 1: you believe in aliens. Let me be more specific, do
- 34:39Speaker 1: you think there's intelligent life on another planet?
- 34:42Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 34:42Speaker 4: For sure percent.
- 34:44Speaker 10: Though, you know, I feel like there's just so many
- 34:46Speaker 10: things that has happened in different scenarios, especially that has
- 34:50Speaker 10: even come out with like.
- 34:51Speaker 4: That the government has released.
- 34:53Speaker 10: That's like there's just some things that you just don't like,
- 34:56Speaker 10: you know, some things are like yeah, it's one thing
- 34:58Speaker 10: to be like, oh yeah, it's just UFOs or alien
- 35:00Speaker 10: It's like yeah, bull crap. But it's like some stuff
- 35:02Speaker 10: that actually happens, and like some stuff that actually happens
- 35:04Speaker 10: in our world and it's kind of unexplainable. So it's
- 35:07Speaker 10: like it leaves me for a room of belief that
- 35:09Speaker 10: there is I read.
- 35:10Speaker 1: An old interview with a youth football coach of yours
- 35:13Speaker 1: who said your nickname was Lemonade.
- 35:16Speaker 10: It came from Uh, it was just because like I
- 35:19Speaker 10: was light skinned and I was like sweet on my
- 35:21Speaker 10: feet because I got that nickname that Hatevielle Charter out
- 35:24Speaker 10: of school in Atlanta.
- 35:25Speaker 1: You had a signed Chad Johnson jersey in your locker
- 35:29Speaker 1: during training camp. Technically it was the Ocho Cinco version.
- 35:32Speaker 1: How did you get it? And describe meeting Chad once
- 35:35Speaker 1: you got here.
- 35:36Speaker 10: I got it at the NFL Rookie Premiere and I
- 35:39Speaker 10: told myself, I'm gonna get as signed when I get
- 35:41Speaker 10: whenever I catch him. And it was when he was
- 35:43Speaker 10: back in town for training camp. He had like a
- 35:46Speaker 10: soccer tournament. He was in the he was in the
- 35:48Speaker 10: locker room, and well, actually I met him at the
- 35:52Speaker 10: hotel that we were staying at. He was downstairs at
- 35:54Speaker 10: one time, and I talked with him and that stuff
- 35:55Speaker 10: like that, and I told him whenever he come by
- 35:57Speaker 10: the facility, I gotta get him a sign my jersey.
- 35:59Speaker 10: Seeing him the next day and I got him to
- 36:01Speaker 10: sign it.
- 36:02Speaker 4: So I thought that was dope.
- 36:04Speaker 1: Where do you like to spend your money on?
- 36:07Speaker 10: Like my hot I like to buy clothes different kind
- 36:09Speaker 10: of like what I'm styling in. I like to Yeah,
- 36:13Speaker 10: I like to spend my time on fashion. Sometimes if
- 36:16Speaker 10: a new game comes out or something like to play
- 36:18Speaker 10: the game.
- 36:20Speaker 11: Food bills, that's something we don't like to spend our
- 36:28Speaker 11: money on, but we have to all right.
- 36:30Speaker 1: Final fun fact for Jermaine Burton. This one's kind of deep.
- 36:34Speaker 1: If you could meet anybody in history, living or deceased,
- 36:40Speaker 1: who would that person be?
- 36:42Speaker 4: Probably President Eisentower.
- 36:46Speaker 10: Because apparently he was the one that had the meeting
- 36:48Speaker 10: with the aliens so back in like nineteen sixty seven
- 36:51Speaker 10: or something, So I need to see if that's true
- 36:53Speaker 10: or not.
- 36:54Speaker 1: You could get to the bottom of it once and
- 36:56Speaker 1: for all.
- 36:56Speaker 10: Yeah, I would rather have a conversation with him because
- 36:59Speaker 10: there was something that went down with him and like
- 37:00Speaker 10: some crazy thing with alien, like some crazy conspiracy aliens,
- 37:04Speaker 10: and I just want to ask him about it.
- 37:05Speaker 4: So if I had to choose right there as of
- 37:07Speaker 4: right now, yeah, him, right now.
- 37:08Speaker 1: That's a fun answer. I appreciate your time. Best of
- 37:10Speaker 1: luck the rest of the year.
- 37:11Speaker 4: Thank you, I appreciate you.
