Catch us up really quick before we dive in. Are we Serena: Going just the last couple weeks. Let's do Hannah moving in. Thank God. I was between roommates for a minute and dealing with some interesting roommates, that's for sure. Whether it was ones that were, I don't know, not paying the rent to just dirtiness. Like it's just kind of like varied, you know. And then she came in, she cooks me meals, she takes care of me, she comes into my room to tell me about her day. Love that. Hannah: Okay. Serena: Or dates, which is more fun. Playing Hannah: Yeah. Serena: volleyball on Sun Saturdays, worship on Sundays, writing music, running my business. It's a busy life, a great life. It's even better now that Hannah's down in Florida. She didn't believe me that she was gonna be down here, but I knew. Hannah: Well it we will talk about that later. Serena: I mentioned that in the last podcast we were on, didn't Hannah: You did, yeah. Serena: I? What a moment. Okay. Hannah: Yeah, as y'all can see, my update is my promises did come true. I'm a woman of my word. We have video. Fingers crossed this works. We'll see. and I went home for Wesley's wedding, as y'all know, so fun, and got to drink my favorite coffee shops. I went to so many, I'm not gonna lie. Florida coffee. It was so Florida. Yeah, Serena: You got one good coffee shop. Hannah: so far. Not a lot going on there. What else have I been up to? I've gone on some dates. I will update y'all on that later. Or not. Sorry, mom. Serena: Or not. Hannah: And let's just say I love a red flag and I'm really I'm really trying not to, you guys. I'm sure a lot of people can relate to that though. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And there's children screaming outside our door right now. And those are the updates I have. Serena: Yeah. Yeah it's not smoking anymore though, so but cool. What Hannah: Yeah, the smoke is gone. The smoke is gone. Thank God. Yeah, like Serena: are you what's coming up for you? Hannah: what is coming up? Mmm. That's a good question. a concert. I'm going to the Tim McGraw concert. Serena: Wear some boots. Hannah: We love some boots. Serena: Some boots. Got a couple pairs I need to take back out for sure. But we also have the potlucks that we're starting once a month. And Hannah: Sorry. Serena: and craft nights with some of the girls to get to know them here. For even for myself, some of these girls I don't know very well. And I've wanted to get to know pretty well. Much, pretty much. I've wanted to get to know as well. Hannah: Yeah. I think for both of us community is really important in like building that. And I feel like I did a good job of that in Wilmington. I'm excited to help bring that here to Florida. And we've got some really cool things planned. And we can't wait to tell y'all as they come up that crack night is one of them, potlucks is another. Serena: And she did just buy a a crock bot. Hannah: I did buy a crock pot. And you know what? That's the Drew Barrymore one. It's really cute. Serena: I think you I like using what is the What is it c casual dishes? Yes. Hannah: yeah. Serena: I like using those. That's how I like to cook, bake. You got the crock pot. Hannah: Yeah. I got the crackpot. Next will be an air fryer. Mm. Serena: I've never used one. Hannah: And I might replace that microwave. Serena: Honestly, if it wasn't for Hugo, I would get rid of that. Hannah: Would you get a new one or no microwave at all? No antimicrowave. Serena: No microwave. Yeah. Hannah: I grew up in an anti microwave house and I get it, but it makes life easy. Serena: I just don't think it's that you're hot. I don't Hannah: Hot take. You don't need a microphone. Serena: think we think it's a hot take. We have an oven. Ovens have been the thing for like how many years now? Mm-hmm. Microwaves It's like cancer. Hannah: Okay, so that's what your what out is and what's in what's out, your what's out is a microwave. Serena: It's out. No, actually I have a different what's out. It's men calling me random men calling me baby. Hannah: yeah, that's a good one. Serena: Take it out. Immediate. Why are you saying that to me? Hannah: Okay. What's your A? Serena: My broommate staying hydrated. My 40 ouncer. My 30 ouncer mystery box came in too. Super limited edition color. Okay. The Hannah: I love Serena: broommates. Probably. I got all my gear. Hannah: Two what's in? Serena: We have two, yeah. That sounds like it. Hannah: Crazy. Okay, that's your end. Okay, my what's in is plant shopping. Yeah. Serena: yeah? Tell us more, please. Hannah: We but we went plant shopping yesterday. Serena: Literally not like twenty four hours ago. Hannah: And that was fun. My what's out is also plant shopping because the plants have already Serena: And we will Hannah: them. Serena: be posting another video photo of that. I put that on our story, but Hannah: Yeah, we might even add it to the Instagram so y'all can just see it in all its glory. Serena: Yeah. It's laying there right now. Hannah: But anyone who knows me knows I cannot keep a plant alive to save my life. And apparently Serena: Yeah. Hannah: Thanks. Serena: It's a cactus. Hannah: Yeah. She sent me a picture. I was at work today. And she's like, he committed suicide. He said, get me out of this house. The Lord, I'm coming to you fast. Serena: So the new is that I saw it somewhat struggling this morning and I fixed it. Like I was like, bro bro, you need some help. So made sure it was all settled in, had some structure. I left for an hour. I come back, he's gone. He's done. He's not even attached. Hannah: Yeah, he's not living his best life. He's not living at all actually. Serena: He's he's done. Hannah: but who was it? It was Brandon that was like the roots are still there, so there's still life. Yeah. That was actually very profound. Serena: Yeah, I need to call him. Hannah: That was deep. Yeah. And I feel like we can work that into our life somewhere eventually. We have that. Right now actually. do you want to dive into this week's episode? Yeah. Let's go. Because we're talking about when God speaks. So yeah, let's do it. Let's do it. Okay, so today we're talking about when God speaks. and I feel like to us speaks Serena: Especially as we've gotten older and learned to listen a little bit more. Yeah. But I feel like also, since you are constantly asking people the questions, I think you should go first in answering this one. All right. So what is or when has been a time you felt God speak very clearly to you? Hannah: There's so many times, actually, like very clearly. one time was when I was engaged to that guy. I was praying to God. I was like, damn Lord, get me out of this relationship. If it's not for me, hit me with a pound of bricks and make it so clear. And he literally said to me, He's like, God, God, I'm driving down the road, just little me driving down the road, headed to work. And God said, He's cheating on you with his ex in South Carolina. And I said to myself. That's a crazy thought, bro. That's crazy. Serena: Is that where you're on your way to Chick-fil-A? Hannah: No, that was before. I didn't even tell you that was happening. I was headed to work. I saw you after. Serena: Can I just make a comment that we can keep or not keep? But like did you do you ever recognize and I think about this often is that the two most some of the most traumatic things that have happened to us, we were bow together when we recognized it's happening happening in a Chick-fil-A. And Hannah: Everything. Sorry. Serena: we also just had Chick-fil-A right before this. Hannah: Something about the Christian chicken. It's with yeah, Serena: renewal with the triple eight out. Hannah: it was like driving down the road and got to that and I said, That's a crazy thought, bro. Serena: Mm-hmm. Hannah: And then I met you for dinner and then I got home, you were with me, and my mom was like, Serena, you to leave. And Pamela has never kicked you out the house. Never once in her whole life. No. It was a weird vibe. There's a weird vibe going on. And that's when he told me that he did drive down to I said South Carolina, but I met Georgia. Yeah, he did try to leave. Yeah. Serena: Your mom to tell you. Hannah: Listen, yeah. But he did confess that he did pursue a relationship with her down in Georgia and that that's where he was. And I said, you know what, God? You sp spoke clear as day. and I heard him. I just thought, that's crazy. Yeah. Serena: So yeah. Hannah: It's sometimes it's simple things like that. Serena: I feel like sometimes you have a it can be like a a vision of when he speaks where it's not like you you getting it instructions of what's going on and it's just like you steward things. And you get times where he speaks very clearly on what's happening and then times he speaks very clearly on what you need to do. Nothing more, nothing less, but like Hannah: Yeah. I need to do this. Or like when I was moving, this is in the Testimony About California episode. I don't know if I've ever told you this or if you've listened to it, but I was in South Carolina and the girls were all like I said South Carolina again. I was in Georgia, I was in Savannah. I wasn't in South Carolina, I was in Savannah, Georgia. And the Caitlens were talking about moving to California, like you should move with us, you should move with us. I was like, No, I'm not moving there. But I kept telling God I know. Serena: They both didn't even end up there. Hannah: But I was telling God, I was like, God, if you want me to move to Africa and dig wells, I will do that. But I will not move to California. And he literally said to me, I was in the Airbnb bedroom, and he was like, just say you're gonna do it. You don't have to, but just say you're gonna do it. Like surrender and just say it. And I was like, God, I'm not even gonna say it out loud because if I do, it just terrifies me. And he was like, Are you gonna be faithful? I said, Fine, I'll say it out loud. So I said, Okay, God. Okay, I will move to California. And when I tell you the peace that washed over my body after I said those words, and I remember I was like and I was like, no. Serena: But wanna hear about what about yeah. Hannah: I'm moving to California. So I went out and I told the girls because I had actually been f I've never, you know how Jacob like wrestled with the Holy Spirit? And like obviously the Holy Spirit beat him. Duh. I had never felt such an internal like f if you asked me if I was physically wrestling someone, I would say I was. Up until that moment. And then like the war was over. I walked down and told told the girls and they jumped up and down and I was like, that was God. He literally said, Just say you're gonna do it. And I did. And it was crazy. And then I moved. Serena: now I want to hear about your wrestle with Florida because when I called you and I said, Hannah, you know I don't say this kind of stuff, but you're gonna move to Florida. And you said it's the can I say what you said away? Yeah. The armpit of the United States. Hannah: No, I say it's the Australia of the United States. Jeez Serena: Did the arm fit. Hannah: I probably did say that too. 'Cause the bugs are big here and there's alligators. Serena: Yeah. Yeah. Those things, yeah. Hannah: And seaweed in the water. Serena: Humid? Seaweed. if they said humid like humid. Hannah: Seaweed in the water. No, how about you tell them why you said that, Serena? I Serena: Man, I I can't even tell you. It's just sometimes it I get a revelation. It's so clear. And we had thought thought many times that we were going to grow up together h side by side and our kids were gonna grow up together. And in my head, it's it's not if that's gonna happen or anything like that. It's like that is what's gonna be how how our kids grow up is how we did. We weren't exactly side by side, but we were together a lot. And I like, I don't know how that's gonna happen because I think I always envisioned that I would come to you. And that was always how it was. And and then you would ask me to join the podcast. And I was like, I don't know how we're gonna do it from a distance. As time goes on, I'm praying. It's just like very one day it was just very clear. Like, yeah, Hannah's moving here. And there are more pieces to that that will be revealed, but Yeah, and it wasn't one of those things where I wasn't allowed to say anything. You know, when you're he tells you something, you're not you're just not supposed to say anything right then, you know. Those words aren't supposed to come out of your mouth yet. It wasn't like that. She came to visit. I was like, Yeah, yeah, you're moving here. I I don't know what to tell you though. Like it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen. She's like, No, no. I said, Please say never. Say never Yeah, she did and she's like, I'm not gonna do that, I'm not gonna do that. And you went home and you tell the rest. Hannah: Yeah. So then I went home and I texted my mom and I was like, Hey, do you want to get lunch? My mom was like, Of course I would love to get lunch. And the whole time internally, I'm like, I think I'm moving to Florida. I think I'd like told you I would think about it at that point after the at the end of the trip. I'll Serena: her like sarcastic way, I'll think of Hannah: think about it. But I go to meet my mom at lunch and my mom's sitting there and she was I was like, Hey, I have to talk to you about something and she was like, Okay. And I was like, I'm thinking about possibly thinking about moving to Florida. And my mom like starts to cry and she goes, I had a dream three nights ago. So while I was still in Florida, I had a dream three nights ago that you were gonna text me and ask me to grab lunch and that you're gonna tell me you're moving to Florida. And I just started crying because the thing about my mom is she has like prophetic dreams and when Pamela dreams something, just be ready. Yeah. Be ready. So I was like, my gosh, I'm moving to Florida. And I think she my mom didn't like fully believe it yet. She was like, That's crazy. We'll see what she actually does 'cause there's no way my daughter would move to Florida. That would be wild. And then I texted you immediately after I said, Listen to what my mom dropped. Serena: And there were some other small things that were happening during that time that it was just kinda like, my gosh. my gosh. Yeah. I can't remember every little thing, but I do remember your sister called you. Hannah: Yeah. my gosh, that was crazy. Kaya called me. I'll never forget. I was on the way to get coffee after church. Yeah. And I was really wrestling specifically with Mikaya mentally, 'cause I hadn't said anything to her. That I was thinking about it, my mom hadn't said anything 'cause my mom hadn't moved yet. And I was like, How am I supposed to leave my sister and my nephews? Serena: my gosh, it's so hard leaving little ones. Hannah: Yeah, I was like, I've done it before and it was already so hard. How am I supposed to do it? And as I'm literally like already in the car crying about it, Kaya calls me and she was like, Hey and she texts me earlier, she's like, I wanna talk to you. And she was like, Hey, I was listening to the episode you did with Serena and I really feel like God's telling me to tell you you need to move to Florida. And when I tell you, I was like Serena: Yeah. Hannah: I started sobbing and I was like, It's crazy that you mentioned Gasping. I was like Because I I was thinking about telling you, I'm thinking about moving to Florida, but I can't imagine leaving you and the boys and you don't fly. And she was she said something like, We will come visit you. I will make sure they see you. We will come visit. And I was Are you sure? And she was like, I'm telling you, like, God told me to tell you this. You need to move to Florida. Serena: When God speaks, man. Hannah: And I was like, Wow, he got me on three sides, three of the most important people in my life. Serena, my mom, and my sister. God was like, Bam, bam, bam. Talk about Serena: women your life, your sister, your mom, your best friend, like yeah, crazy. But also and I know Hannah: And but that was the first time he didn't speak like directly to me. He wasn't like, Hey, you're doing this. Serena: I think you kind of needed that reinforcement for this time. But also your family was way more supportive of you moving here than they were of you going to California, right? I mean they were like, let's let's help. Yeah. They've been so helpful. Hannah: Yeah, they've been very helpful. Serena: Not that they wouldn't either Hannah: They were not supportive about California. Serena: They didn't really want her going out there. As i w understandable, it's far, but it's gorgeous. Have you been out there? If you haven't been out there and can't judge. Yeah. So it's I love Hannah: So Serena: a lot. Yeah. We're going out s what when are we going out to San Francisco? sorry. San Diego next. Whatever we can. Whenever we Hannah: Probably next year. Your uncle see yeah, so that was interesting because God has spoken to me directly, but then this time he didn't really speak to me directly. He spoke to me through three different people. There was never a moment where he said to me, You're moving to Florida, or like say you're moving to Florida, or there was no hint of it. There was a hint when I was standing in the kitchen and I just thought, could I see my life being here? But there was no point where he said it, but he used three separate people. And I always think it's interesting the different ways that God speaks to us. Serena: Do you think it's kind of interesting that with California you had to actively work on being ob actively obedient and this time it was more like immediately you were w ready to answer the call. Hannah: Well you wanna know the my word of the year that year was surrender. You wanna know what my word for this year was? Surrender. Serena: why what? Hannah: So as soon as as soon as it started popping up I like I had two words. The other one was joy. So I had to find joy in the surrender. Well and I am. Serena: Yeah, I feel like you've been you've said that you feel like you've been here for a while. You Hannah: Yeah. Serena: haven't had as many cry sessions or even close. Don't start with me. Hannah: That you've witnessed. Serena: It takes you a while to have the first one. Yeah. Hannah: Yeah, to be like a week. Serena: think that's a pretty good pretty good amount time. Hannah: Crying is normal when you move, you guys. Serena: I think crying is a normal thing that i is perfectly fine. It's a relief system. Exactly. Hannah: Yeah. Jesus we to us. Jesus weah. So anyways, he just speaks to us different ways, you know? Yeah, absolutely. How are like ways do you think he speaks to you? Serena: To be honest, I think, it it can be different. I think I feel like I get almost I think that he speaks to me in d a couple of different ways. I wouldn't say ever in dreams. I think I have some crazy dreams half the time and those definitely aren't it. I do feel like there was this one time he talked to me in a dream and I was like, I have to remember this, I have to remember this, and I just couldn't for the the death of me. And yeah, I think he knew from then you can't talk to me in dreams, it's just it's gonna be a hard one. They just don't it is very hard to stick with me there. So maybe I shouldn't have said whatever. but more in words or visions, I guess. I'm a visual learner for sure. And I can almost it's like I see his words as they're happening. There have been a couple where it's like a straight up vision, I know what's gonna be in like five years. and it's just about stewarding that until it happens. I I've had very clear ones. Well, with you, with Hugo for sure, and that's a story to tell for another day. But usually I'd say I just hear his voice. It's almost like a whisper most of the time. With Hugo is almost like you talking to me right beside me. Hannah: Priscilla Scheyer, who's like a speaker, Bible study person, she did a book called Discerning God's Voice. And basically at the end of it she was saying that like your God knows you, so he knows how to talk to you. And so when you're like, is this of God? Am I hearing God? Why doesn't God speak to me? It's like he knows your language and he knows how you're gonna hear him. And you have to have faith that like he's gonna do that and he does know you. Serena: You wanna know something really funny that you say that is one time I I'm on worship team with Oceanside. So there are times where I'm like, Lord, like I know you give them like words or song to sing, like it's something that flows well and they can hear hear your voice in this and I wanna be able to hear it too. And there's plenty of times where I can, but when it's silence and you have to speak out, it can be incredibly nerve-wracking. But I'm having this meeting one time and I say something like Lord, I want I want to be able to you to speak through me and kind of thing. And he's very clear. He says, I want you to sing this in front of everybody just randomly. And and I'm like, Lord, I can't I can't do that. I'm so nervous. He's like, and this is why I give it to other people. And I was like, okay, I'll do it. Literally, Hannah: No. Serena: I I like, I was like, okay, I hear what you're saying. I'm complaining that I'm not getting like you're not speaking through me because I'm not doing it. So I did it. Good. Not well, but I did it. And then since then it's been l a lot easier because they've started being obedient in the small things. Yeah. Hannah: He who is faithful and little will be faithful and much. Yeah. I just know Caitlin Deeds heard me say that and she's groaning in the car right now. She's like, Ugh, she says that all the time, because I do. Yeah. It's one of my sayings. I just say it all the time. But I just remind myself that. But it's true. The little it's like a muscle. It really is. Hearing God's voice is so much like a muscle. It's like your sp it's also like your spiritual gift is a muscle. You have to do it. Do it even when you doubt it. Because the more you do it, the clearer his voice is. The more familiar you get, and then the more into practice it's gonna be where it's just clear and you're like, that was God. Like there's things that happen where like, that was God. Like he told me this. I'm telling you this. Or like my friends in Wilmington will tell you, I'll just text them and be like, Hey, what's going on? Are you okay? And you're like, What why did he tell you anything was happening? Like you always text me at the worst time because he knows something's happening. Yeah. My God literally told me to check in. Serena: Yeah. I I do think it can be hard if you've been trying to push what you want so when I was younger, I would definitely want something so bad that I'm like, Lord, let it be from you, let it be from you, that like I would say that I'm hearing like it not say I'm hearing it from him, I'd be like, this is where I'm supposed to go. God wants me to go here because I wanted to so bad. And he kind of be like, Nope, nope, nope, you're going the wrong way. Nope, nope. And it's like it and then eventually when you're trying to listen, you start second guessing, Am I trying to push my own thing? So you make it worse for sure. And then once you start going back on track on listening to him, it definitely becomes a lot easier every time you step into what he says. It it becomes easier and easier to hear him for sure. Hannah: I was a part of a small group that I was not the leader of for this one on Monday nights and my leader Ali, I love her. Shout out Ali, she's the best. We're talking about something similar to that about like God's plans and paths for you. And she is a visionary person. Like she just sees visions of what God's telling her. And she like explains it so well. One of the ones she used for something like that was saying, like, God is your GPS and like he has a destination set. And if you miss your turn. It's fine. You're gonna get to that destination. That's his plan for you. It just might take longer. And that's okay. I You can't miss what he has for you. Serena: Yeah. I was literally writing today that when God gives you like a vision is about stewarding yourself up to that point, to to that vision happening. And the less you are stewarding, the longer it's gonna take. But honestly, think about David. He Hannah: Yeah. Serena: was told he's gonna be king and he had to be a good steward in what he was doing before becoming king. Many years and then he became king. Hannah: Many. Serena: I mean, probably wouldn't have been as good of a king if he wasn't able to steward his responsibilities as a shepherd. Hannah: One hundred percent. Serena: So Hannah: Do you think that there's a time that you heard God's voice and then you doubted it though? Like have you experienced that where you're like, Ooh, was that God? I'm not sure. Serena: I think there have been times, but it's it's not this like when I heard stuff about Hugo or you, it was very clear. There's no doubting it. When even when people are telling you that's not gonna happen, you're like, I know you're saying this, but and I could have doubts myself, but I'm so sure in the voice that I heard that I know it's going to. So I'm not I'm not worried about it. But there'll be other times on like what I was talking about when I wasn't sure if it was me or God, or I don't want to make a scene, or I don't want people to look at me or think anything of me. He's literally just telling me to get on my knees. Yeah. Again, your knees. But there are people around. And I grew up in a house where it's like, don't let like do stuff that's going to be a distraction or get people to look at you. So I'm like, I don't know. Is this of God? Is this of my own flesh? Am I wanting people to look at me? I don't know. Yeah. And so I would get doubtful in it. But again, as I've grown in my faith. In my relationship with God, it's more like honestly, what's the like you're getting on your knees. There's nothing wrong with that. And so whether he's telling you to or not, just Hannah: Just do it. Yeah. Serena: do it. Just surrender regardless. obviously, if you're doing it for the wrong intentions of getting people to look at you, that's not great for sure. No. But my intentions were to glorify God. I just wanted to make sure That I wasn't trying to, you know, you know what I mean. Yeah. But eventually I learned the difference between myself and the voices I was my the voice of the Lord, not voices. Yeah. Hannah: The voice to say speak to me. They whisper in my ear. Yeah. Serena: And and you know, we grew up in a church that was very much l you kind of stood there like a statue. Yeah. Hannah: Yeah. I remember the first time I ever put my hands up in church. It actually wasn't at church, it was at passion. Yeah. But I remember doing it and I was like, Very awkward. Yeah, the first time it was so and I was standing next to Kirsten Shepard. I love her. 'Cause she like kind of had her hands up and I don't know, standing next to her, it's just like, you know, she's a she was a little older, so like she was the mature older friend. And I was like, Okay, she's doing this and she's cool, but like I feel awkward, but I feel led to do it. But I'm gonna do it. But what if people think I'm weird? I'm like Literally the stadium had a hundred thousand people in it. No one was looking at me. Not a single person. But what? Serena: like freeing it is to have a community that's going to just actively worship and not worry about what anyone else is Hannah: Yeah. Serena: it really helps you to let go of so so much of either what you've been taught or insecurities Hannah: Yeah. Serena: because they're not they're not looking at you. No one's looking at you. Hannah: No, no one is. Serena: But being able to see that and being a community where you can you can watch and learn. and I think that's A lot of times what worship teams are meant to do is they're like they're meant to be an example. Yeah. Like it's not about them. It's not about you. It's about God and giving it all to him. I mean, again, another David one, he worshiped with all his heart. Yeah. All his might. Sorry. So Hannah: Is Is there a time that you have ever heard God you thought you heard God's voice, but then you got it wrong? I know that's a tricky question. Serena: I did, but again, I it could have easily been a projection of mine instead of being like, this could be of him. And I just was like pushing it, like, I want this to be of him. And maybe like that. I think that's also why it took me so long to start telling people when I felt him wanting me to say something to someone that it was made sure. Like I wanted to make sure I was sure. But at a certain point, sometimes it's not. I people can take this wrong way, but it's not always for you to be sure about. Like there have been times where we're praying with someone and I see something and I feel like I'm supposed to say it, but I don't want to misguide them. And so I haven't said anything, but but that's wasn't the point. And I I've come out of that and I started saying stuff and it has made a difference. Like it's very clear what's going on in the moment or that he's speaking and they need to hear what so but that makes sense. I'd rather it was very Hannah: I saw some Yeah. Very vague. No, I because I don't think you can always be sure. Like, think about Samuel before he was like a prophet. He heard God calling his name and he kept going to the priest and he was like, yeah, Are you calling me? Are you okay? And he was like, No, go back to bed, Sam. Yeah. Go back to sleep, bro. It's two AM. And then God called him again and he went back and he was like, Are you Are you sure you didn't call me? Because I keep hearing voices. And he was like, No, Samuel. Go back to bed. And then eventually he was like, That's the Lord and you need to answer. And so like you can doubt it sometimes, but if if it's him, he will be persistent. Serena: That's that's true. And I feel like I've also started to recognize certain I don't want to say feelings, but like when it is true, it's almost like it starts shaking me. Yeah. At the end when I'm trying to walk away. It's like you're you're literally losing the moment you need to say something. So it's Hannah: Yeah. Serena: it's gotten to that point. Which is great. Which is great. But it also can be a a lot 'cause it is a bit of a responsibility. Hannah: It's like a nervousness. It reminds me of Esther where she had to speak on behalf of the Jews. And she of course she's nervous. She could literally be killed. Yeah. And Mordecai was basically like, listen, if it ain't you, God's gonna rise someone else up to do it. But even through that nervousness, she had to like step into a confidence to speak up and do what was right. Serena: They do say opportunities don't go away. They just go to different people. Yes. And your opportunity to obey God, you know, if you're not gonna do that, then someone else will. But that's also jail. Jail. Like the Hannah: Yeah. Serena: they were told to kill certain generals and stuff and end the war and they didn't. And what was it, the general? I think it was a general, maybe king, went into her tent, went to take a nap. She's like, go take a nap. Took that tent peg under his head. Won the war. A woman. Love Hannah: Yeah. Yeah. Well, I was talking about that actually in Bible study bef right before I left Wilmington where it was JL and then who was the judge, right? Serena: No, she's not a judge. Hannah: There was a judge and it was a woman. Deborah. yeah, Deborah. And Deborah was the one that was like, you need to go to war, you're gonna win and he like, Go to war with me and she's like, That's fine, but now the war is gonna be won by the hands of a woman. And then the other general that was against them went into the tent of jail. And she was the one who went. So it wasn't even like Deborah was the one who got the glory, which you were like you would think it would be her 'cause she was a judge. But I just think it's true, like because he even doubted a little bit, God was like, All right, we're gonna we're gonna give this one to the lady. Yeah. Serena: He wanted to give it because that's why he'd win instead of remembering it's about God and his presence and what he has said. But I also Hannah: Yes, exactly. Serena: I can't say that I know it's Deborah because I d I honestly don't Hannah: Notice Deborah. I know it I it is Deborah. Serena: Love that. Here go. I was gonna say, what was your question again that even loved the Liz there? have you ever doubted what he's talking to you? How about you? Have you? Hannah: Mm. Well, I definitely have times where he has talked to me and I doubted and there's been like I've prayed for him to remind me that he did speak. and then there's been times that he spoke very clear to me and then I told my parents and they doubted. And they were proven wrong. Mm. But they saw it. Yeah, that's And that's all I have to say. Serena: That's I feel like that's that's always kind of almost not refreshing, but what is it validating? Yeah. Hannah: So Serena: Have you ever been told something where someone says, God told me to tell you this? And you're like Hannah: That's wrong. Serena: no, he didn't Hannah: And I think that's when it comes to you have to know your relationship with the Lord. Mm-hmm. And you have to know how He knows you and how well He knows you. Because yeah, I will never forget no shade to this girl. I was at my cult church Serena: I think I know what you're gonna say. Hannah: and we were doing a potluck, 'cause we did a potluck every Wednesday night. And y'all, these people love to pray. I love a prayer. But sometimes prayer went on for an hour. And I learned pretty quickly that they don't care if you get up and you go eat snacks. So after about fifteen minutes, I got really hungry and I started thinking about taco. I don't know why it was Taco Bell, because I only eat Taco Bell when I've been out drinking, but it was Taco Bell. And I thought, my gosh, there's snacks in the kitchen. I'm gonna get up. So mind you, I'd spent the last 10 minutes thinking Serena: thinking about Taco Bow while they're praying? Yeah. yeah. Hannah: Yeah. Meanwhile, Caitlin's like being prayed over and we're about to baptize her, and I had no idea because I'm thinking about Taco Bell. So I get up, I go into the kitchen, and this girl comes up to me and she was like lays hands on me. She's like, I want you to know I saw you praying to the Lord. And you were just covered in a white light. I've never seen someone so in tune and so connected. And I just God told me to tell you that people see how connected you are to him, especially in that moment when you were praying. You just I could tell your spirit was just one with the Holy Spirit in that prayer. And I looked at her and I said, that is so nice. I appreciate this word so much. But I have to be honest, I was not praying. I was thinking about Taco Bell. And she just went, And then walked away. And then Caitlin was Yeah, fair, Serena: Yeah. Hannah: fair. and then I saw Caitlyn was getting up and crying and I was like, we're about to baptize her in this freezing cold water because it was February. And so I walked out there with her to get baptized and videotaped it. And I did not get that water. I said, I love you so much, baby girl. I'm gonna pray from above the pool. Yeah. Serena: I mean I guess you I feel like you are pretty in tune. Maybe not, Hannah: But I just thought that's not the Lord. I I definitely again, very nice girl. I the energy, for lack of a better term, the vibes were that she was like trying to connect and she was using Christian verbiage and the Holy Spirit to connect with me and it wasn't like authentic. Okay. Does that make sense? Serena: Yeah. I haven't really had too many people that I Alisa I don't know come up to me. I've had like you've met Mia and Ava, I believe. Hannah: Well. Serena: They have, and they're very spot on with what they say, which I do definitely they've grown so much since I've met them and it's incredible to see. But they have Bernadine is also she has mentioned something about light before when she prayed for me one time up front. we were both. I don't think don't remember the whole prayer. I just remember looking up when we were both just like crying. Hannah: Mm-hmm. Serena: It was nice. Yeah. Those are great prayers. I love it. I love I love when God speaks through someone else and like validates, not like validates, but also kind of reinforces and strengthens me outwardly. Because you I get so much strength from him, but sometimes I need to hear that it's not just in my head. Yeah. Like Hannah: Like Serena: I need to hear it from someone else that that I'm on the right path, that I'm doing what he's asked me to do. And not because they're seeing it, but because God is talking to telling them as well. He's like, yeah, keep keep doing what you're doing. You're you're going the right way. Like, Hannah: Yeah. Serena: you know, I never wanted to I never never want to accidentally start leaning on my own understanding and my own path and accidentally veer off. And then at the same time take other people with me. Pretty loud person. And I'm I'm like I know what I believe. So if I start veering, I only can only imagine it influences one or two people, whether I see it or not. I I know because people will come up to me that know me and I don't know them. And I'm like, what I do is going to impact other people whether I know it or not. So I need to be very careful. So hearing that. Hannah: Think about like Job's friends. They knew God. They believed in God. Serena: Did some good I actually did some stuff there, yeah. Hannah: But they were speaking into his life that was not in the direction of which was truth. And Job had to be like, mm, I know God, I know my relationship with God and y'all are Serena: wrong. Yeah. I actually was looking at that today because I literally wrote it down here. This guy he had amazing things to say. he was very spot on in many ways and how God speaks and things like that. But the thing is he was assuming that what was happening to Job was because Joe was being sinful. Yeah. And that he so he was assuming they were assuming without all the information. So they get rebuked because they're bringing him down and telling him that he's wrong without knowing all the information. Which was like How many people do that on a regular basis? Hannah: No literally we're Serena: How like honestly, gossip comes from that all the time. Hannah: Yeah, we were talking about gossip earlier today and like the effects it has on people. Yeah. Serena: Yeah. It's per Hannah: mom always says like sin will take you farther than you want to go and keep you longer than you wanna stay. Serena: Yeah, say that again. Hannah: Sin will take you farther than you want to go and keep you longer than you want to stay. That's true. Yeah, Serena: It's not always it's not really an easy thing to leave when you're so used to that too. Hannah: Yeah, and I think that's why it's important to know like if God's saying, no, turn back, warning. Serena: So now that we've talked about hearing him and having doubts, is there a time you've heard him speak and had absolutely no doubt at all? Hannah: So Serena: Even if like people are telling you, Hannah. Yeah, Hannah: Yeah, I'd be so Serena: he's so for real. Like that's not even a possibility of happening, even down the road. Like even a year or two from now, Hannah, rethink yourself. Hannah: Right Yeah, yeah, of course. Me in my life, of course. No, the first time I remember this is gonna be a sad story, and I'm sorry y'all. But remember when the doctors thought I was dying from cancer? Mm-hmm. I was in bed, 14-year-old me. This is just too like Snapchat at me at 14. I honestly was like, God, it's okay if I die. I just pray for all the kids that have cancer that are going through this. Like, heal them. Like, that's me at 14. Like, that seems sweet and innocent, but I was still such a mean kid. And then I was thinking about the moms. So I started praying over all the moms that have cancer that these kids are gonna like lose their moms. And then eventually, after it had to be like two or three in the morning, my mom's still doing dishes. And I was like, okay, I guess I like have to pray over myself. My parents will be like so sad if I die. Like, I have to. So I like started to pray over myself to be like, God, please heal me so that like they're all happy again and people stop worrying about me. And I like went to pray and I couldn't. I like the words wouldn't come out. And I was like, okay. So I went to pray it again. And God said, literally, He's like, You don't need to pray. You're healed. And I said, That's crazy. No God. My mom's gonna be so mad if I don't pray that my cancer goes away. So I tried again and he was like, He literally said, What are you doing? I told you you're healed. I said so good. I said, Okay, I'm gonna go tell her that I'll go tell her. So I got it because the next day was a really important appointment. Miss Jack Moore set it up and it was like a hard appointment to get. It was like, what are the odds? And it's because it was that dire, I was like at that end of it. And went up to my mom at again, two or three in the morning. I was like, Listen, you can cancel the appointment. God told me my cancer's gone. And my mom sat the kitchen, you know, the farmhouse where it's like on the corner. I remember she put her hands on the edge and she just s started sobbing and she was like, Baby, I know you're scared, but like this is our last shot. We have to go. Like, you have to go to the appointment tomorrow. And I said, I don't, I'm healed. And she was like sobbing. And she was like, You liter you have to. You have to go. I said, Okay. So like go to bed. I wake up. We get up early. We go to the doctors. They are scanning my whole body. And they're like, Where's the cancer? Where are the lumps? And my mom's like, here, here, and here. You can see in the photo. And lady's like, I see it in the photos. I'm not seeing it on her and the ultrasound. And my mom was like, No, it's here. And the lady's like, Hannah, can you point it out for me? And I was The doctor said, She's I don't care what the doctor said. I'm seeing it the photos. Point it out for me where you feel it. And I was like, Well, I don't anymore. And she goes, What do you mean? And I was like, It's gone. And the doctor looked at my mom and she's like, It is gone. I can't find anything on the ultrasound. There's not a trace of anything in her body. Of course, my mom was crying again. Serena: And she was I'm sorry, and your dad said it was because of blueberries. Hannah: My dad swears it was the blueberries and the grilled chicken. my mom's crying and I'm just walking out, I'm not crying anymore. And she goes, Are you not excited? Like, are you not happy? Like your cancer just disappeared overnight. I looked at her in the dead in the face and I said, I told you last night, God told me my cancer was gone. And that woman just her jaw hit the ground and she looked at me. She goes, my God. You're Serena: Yeah. Hannah: right. You did tell me that. And so she goes up to my dad and my dad's like, How was it? How's the appointment? And my mom was like, Her cancer's gone. And my dad was like, What? What are you talking about? And she was like, Hannah told me last night that God told her her cancer was gone and I didn't believe her. But the doctor just said there's not a single s there's nothing. There's nothing there for them to find. And my dad just looked at me and was like, shook his head and we all got in the car and drove home. That was awesome. And that was that. What a story. Yeah, so they all no one believed to me. And I was like, Jesus said so. Serena: So I only want to say two things from there. One, how many times though do you feel like this isn't about God speaks? But like I guess it kind of is that people in their situations won't pray for themselves and they want someone else to pray for them. So they're like, go. But like they need to Hannah: You should absolutely shoot yourself. Serena: always be praying, like doing that, talking to God and doing those things. Cause some people are like, I don't feel like I'm worthy enough. That's not up to me. Hannah: But if you're not talking to God, how is he gonna talk to you? No, it's a genuine question. Like if you're not talking to God, how is he gonna talk? Yeah. It's a one way to one way conversation. Yeah. He's talking to a brick wall. Serena: Exactly. So like yeah, yeah, exactly. So yeah, point is, you know, other people, it's great to have pray over you. But if you haven't prayed as well, then you don't need to be walking up to other people. Yeah. and then the second thing is I just recently had one of the girls that we go to church with, you met her recently, her name is Karen. Very sweet, very nice. we met during young adults when we did like Olympics and everything like that. I love her. She's a therapist and everything. She's gone through a lot as well, but she a few years ago was diagnosed with a cancer. It was like on the roof of her mouth, I believe. And it was through a gland. And she wasn't the person to really go out of her way to ask for prayer. Like she didn't want to be a burden or anything like that. And they were supposed to do a surgery to re to remove it and everything. And it was clearly cancer. It wasn't, it wasn't like a question of what it was. And so she was at this church. She wasn't at Ocean Oceanside at the time, but she was there and she she felt God saying, You need to go get prayer. And it's also not a church where it it's not the same as like oceanside where it's constantly gathered to do that. At least if I'm remembering remembering the whole story correctly. And so she asked and they actually gathered people together and they prayed over her. And she went in for the surgery, had the surgery, comes out and they're like, there wasn't anything there. There was no tumor. Wow. Like it was gone. Wow. And she's like, So Hannah: See that's Serena: and I know she goes, Yeah, it was like it was for real. And then it like disappeared after the prayer. Mm-hmm. And I was like, That's amazing. The only thing with that is we were looking at our life insurance and insurance companies, obviously but they don't particularly they're not gonna take prayer as a cure, you know, so can't call them and be like, yeah, it's gone, prayer. I wish that would be honestly what a world we'd live in if people actually understood the power of prayer and the power of community and all that stuff. Hannah: Yeah. Serena: Amount of people I've heard say stuff like, I'm better off alone is crazy. It's harder to Hannah: No. Serena: hear God, I think, by yourself when you're constantly by yourself and in isolation. Obviously you can hear God in any place. He doesn't leave you or forsake you or you can't flee f his presence is literally everywhere. He's omnipresent. Hannah: Yeah. Serena: But it is just harder by yourself. Hannah: Yeah. It is. Serena: They don't understand that because they just they've never experienced it and it it's kinda sad. It it's sad to me because they won't they don't know. Hannah: Well, yeah, y y you don't know. It reminds me a little bit of like Serena: They think it's better, but again they just don't understand. Hannah: Well and if you don't have that clear relationship with God and you don't have the community there to confirm God's voice, it reminds me of like Eve in the garden where the devil's like, Did he really say that? Are you sure? And he's Serena: Mm-hmm. Hannah: like, I think he did. I think that's how it went. I think that's the rule. I'm pretty sure that's the rule. And the devil's like, I don't think it is though. Yeah. And it's like if you didn't if you don't know him well enough to know his voice and you don't have people there also And community to like confirm like, yes, this aligns with who God is, you can fall into the traps of like Satan or the world or whatever, like you want to call it. and confusion comes in. and we do not serve a confusing God. The world serves a confusing God, but we don't serve a confusing. Serena: Love confusion. Hannah: They love confusion. And so I don't know, I just think about that stuff. Like people in the Bible where like God definitely speaks differently to each one. But he's always very clear. Serena: Yeah. There is a verse that I was reading earlier So Revelation three twenty, good old book of Revelation says, Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come into him and dine with him and with me. And he with me, which I think is also really important because God is con I think God is constantly speaking. Hannah: Mm. Serena: Mm. Obviously there are times where he's a like a little more pushy to be heard. or we're praying for something and we're wanting to hear what we want to hear. So we're unwilling to hear what he is saying. But like when he's coming and he's knocking out that door and we're unwilling to hear, like he's speaking to us all the time. Hannah: Is there a time that you've done that? Like he spoke to you, you were just like, I hear you and I'm not listening. Like I d I'm not accepting that. Serena: I'm sure I have. I'm sure I have. I can't pinpoint an actual one because I'm always like, Wow, so we're gonna do better. Hannah: 'Cause that was me in California. I was like, d stop asking this of me. Yeah. Just let me sleep. Serena: Yeah. Hannah: The last three days have been hard and I don't want to move to California. I'd rather go dig wells. I'd rather build a wall. I'm Serena: Anywhere else. Hannah: like, put me in the whale. It's honestly I just Serena: I was like, literally Jonah's like, I'll go anywhere else. He's like, I don't ask you to go anywhere else, you're going here. Hannah: I know that was what I told my mom with the California thing when I we were talking about it the first time. I was like, I was already in California. I was like, I just feel like Jonah. Like I just feel like I was in the whale and he spit me out and I'm just here anyways. But honestly. But then my mom stopped me and she was like, Baby, you're not Jonah. And I was like, What do you mean? And she was like, You are Abraham. Like you yeah, were you resistant? Yes. But like you from the the beginning you were faithful and you went and you walked until he told you to stop walking. Mm-hmm. Serena: And honestly, what an adventure you had out there. What a like what a beautiful Hannah: Yeah, what a good time. Beautiful God spoke to me a lot. I mean, the people I met, the things that he would say through people. My own tattoo artist. God spoke through my tattoo artist. Serena: Yeah, he's great. Yeah. but either way, if you're gonna constantly ignore him speaking to you, it's gonna be much harder for you to hear him. So if he's knocking, like answer, answer the door. Like answer because it's just gonna be easier to hear him when he's coming. Yeah. nobody really wants to miss that. If if like think about if you're walk if you're at church, I think about this actually often. We're at church and Jesus walks in, are you gonna recognize him? Are you gonna be so infatuated with the worship and the The rituals of things and religion, or you're gonna recognize Jesus because your relationship with him makes him so easy. I Hannah: Good. That's really good. Serena: think about it often. Even with Oceanside, I I really think Oceanside has grown so much. It's so easy to see the changes that have happened there with through people, through myself and everything. But I've thought that there too. I mean, I think any church you go to, you're gonna find people that won't recognize him, no matter what. Like it's like going somewhere and people being like, Well, people are just always church hurt church hurt. Yes, people are not great. Hannah: Yeah, people not recognizing him, but what about if he doesn't recognize you? Yeah. Serena: Okay. Yeah. I was gonna say Bernadine and Philippa asked me a question during one of our sess our session and it was something like, like you you die, you go to you're going to the door and he opens it. Like, what are you gonna say to him? It's not what is he gonna say to you, not like I know you, like, but like what what are you gonna say? I I w I hope this is the right thing. If not, I'm gonna ask them, but what would you say to him? Why, why would he let you in? Why should he let you in? Hannah: like if he asked me what you I Serena: Why should I let Hannah: thought he just meant like what'd be the first thing I would say to him? I like it'd be Serena: Really saying it I realized Hannah: Hi, I've missed you. Where have you been? That's so sweet. Two. Serena: No, but it would be more like that. Hannah: Yeah, yeah. It could still be like No, if you ask me why should I let you and I'd be like, There's literally not a reason. There's not except for I love you. But like there's not there's I don't have a reason. Serena: That's so good though. But they're they were basically saying, like, you know, God knows everybody. Okay. And obviously we have the passage of him saying, I didn't you did this in my name, but I don't know you. Yeah. or the even the demons say that kind of thing. But their their whole point was like, are you gonna say, Well, I know you, like, because I know who you are? And because that is pretty much it, 'cause You have faith because you know who Jesus is. He Hannah: Yeah. Serena: died on the cross for our sins. He's part of the Trinity and you know, so on. Like we know him. Hannah: Yes, but also like no because yeah, he knows everybody, but the difference is is does he recognize you as his child? Serena: No, a hundred percent. Yes, a hundred percent. Hannah: Yeah. Because yeah, he obviously knows the world, but he also set apart the Israelites for a reason. And so is he recognizing you because you are part of his creation or is he recognizing you because you have been adopted into his family? Yeah. Serena: No, a hundred percent. I agree with that. I feel like there's so many ways to to apply for sure. Hannah: But also you're gonna recognize his voice 'cause I really do feel like when I'm when I see him face to face one day, I'm gonna know his voice. I'm gonna be like, You have taught to me my whole entire life. You have been inside this noggin speaking to me since I was five years old, but I was talking to my mom. Serena: You tell me to do some things I didn't want to do. Yeah. Let me tell you. Thank you. Hannah: I was faithful and I was mad about it. Serena: Ha ha! Hannah: But I was glad in the end. Serena: You ever wonder like his reaction to us, like if he thinks it's funny or not? Hannah: I know that man is giggling. I know God sits there and giggles. He's like, I know he do I know he does. I just know he looks at me and he's like, I cannot believe this brat doing this again. Serena: You know that's one of the funniest things that in the Bible that I just wonder like what God was thinking about when he watched it is don't come at me, but I can't remember if it was Elijah or Elijah, but he was doing Hannah: the th the gods where he's real Serena: I don't think you let yourself enough. I don't think Hannah: He must be in the bathroom. No, that makes me giggle every time I read it. Actually the Bible giggle Serena: I mean. Hannah: a lot. God makes me giggle. He says stuff in the Bible that I'm like the amount of times I've written slay. Serena: In your rabbit hole. Hannah: My Bible next to the scripture. I'm like, honestly, even Jesus. I will be in Bible study. Caitlin called me one time because she was like, My new Bible study doesn't laugh at what Paul says. I said, What do you mean? They don't find Paul funny. And she's they don't. And now she was like, I'm sitting here giggling. And I was like, and she's like, and they just look at like I'm weird. I'm I be Jesus giggling. Paul giggling. Anything God said, giggle the prophet Samuel was so sassy as a prophet sometimes that I'm like, honestly. Serena: People gotta remember like people were very still similar. We see so many similarities. It's so surprising. I'm in Deuteronomy and some of the shenanigans, these Israelites do. We still do all the time. Yeah. People here do that all the time. It's like they I think they forget personalities ex have existed way further back than us. But that's too like Hannah: He knows you, so he knows how to talk to you. Like he knows how to talk to me, which is like, I gotta make my point direct. I gotta be clear, I have to be obvious because otherwise this dumb girl is gonna ignore me and go on with whatever the heck she wants to do. So he either tells me directly or he sends my sister, my best friend, and my mother, and Serena: Mm my god. Hannah: nobody else. Because he knows if anybody else came to me, I'd be like, God would not have sent you because he knows how to talk to me, and it's those three people or myself. Serena: One of my favorite ways to read the Bible is excuse me. is with I'll be so I used to read it almost like I think before Hugo, I enjoyed my time because I was like spending it like I was on a date like almost every day. Like I'm so excited to spend that time. Yeah. Now it's like I used to envision this coffee table that is like God's constantly waiting for me to show up and I'm not making time. So like I'm like show up at the coffee table as much in the day as I can, be present in him as much as I can. But when I read the Bible, I think of it like, God's telling me a story. You would not believe what the Israelites said. Yes. So you not believe what they did. I was Hannah: Yeah. Serena: and kind of thing. It's like coming from his voice. It's his stories. He's telling me it's fr his perspective. And it's really enjoyable because you're you talk to him like your father and your friend. And when you're at coffee or you're at a dinner and you're talking to your friends and family, it almost feels Hannah: Like that. Yeah. Serena: Because that's how he's telling he's telling these stories or these details. And he's like, or giving you advice. You need to follow these commandments. It's the best possible thing for your life. I also that's another way to hear him. He speaks, obviously. These are his words from all time. They like he he doesn't speak emptily. He Hannah: Now Serena: doesn't speak without reason, or and all of these words are here to help us. There isn't a part in the Bible or a word from him that comes in that. Isn't for a reason. Hannah: I fully believe as a modern day Christian in the United States, I'm being very specific for a reason, you will not know God's voice unless you're in his word. Serena: No. It's very hard to hear him. Very hard to hear him, I think, if you're not constantly in his actual words. Hannah: 'Cause you have to be you have to make sure it aligns and that's why I'm saying modern day Christian. Because there are places that God definitely reaches out to people and there is no Bible and I fully believe that because that is the Holy Spirit and how it works. Yeah. But in the world we live in, for me to confirm that he's speaking something to me, it has to align with his word. Serena: We have the opportunity to hear his word. Yeah. His word spoken, hear his word read and all of those things. Those places that's a little different and and God will communicate as needed in that situation. I saw a video of these this couple, very young couple, and they were like, people are getting on us for moving together, but God told us to do this. Like, honey, no. No. He would not ever tell you to it's not in the Bible. Hannah: Where's that in the Bible? Serena: It's not he doesn't contradict himself. Whenever he is giving those those visions and those words, if you're not in the word, it's very easy to s convince yourself that what you want or what someone else is telling you or what you feel God wants for you is true. It does not make it a fact or it does not make it him. It's Hannah: No. Serena: honestly probably just you. Hannah: Yeah. But I think there's a lot of peace that comes from knowing his like voice or how he knowing the way he communicates with you. I think you get a lot of peace from it. Because when people speak into your life, you can receive it or not receive it because you know, yes, my father would say that, or no, that is not my from my father. I am not receiving that. I appreciate what you had to say, but I do not have white light radiating out of me when I'm thinking about Taco Bell. Serena: I do also I know I see a lot of people speak over other people about their future spouses. And to be honest, I think there's a lot of idolization by future spouses. Hannah: there is. Serena: So much in marriage. Marriage is a ma I'm not married yet. Soon to be, hopefully. But you know, I do think so many people idolize it so much and they push so much there that it's they become blind. Yeah. Hannah: yeah. They do. We I think we all do. That's topic for another day though. Serena: Yeah. There is one girl at our church. I like they'll people keep being like, I think that's your husband. I think that's your husband. I'm like, guys, like leave her alone. A young girl, like let her Hannah: Yeah, I'll go must tell her. Serena: Come when he comes, it's not gonna be a rush. Hannah: Yeah. Serena: Her husband will come when her husband's supposed to come. Whether you say it or not. Hannah: Yeah. And God will communicate it with her, I'm sure. So I Serena: Yes. Hannah: think he probably knows her well enough to do that. Serena: Yeah. Though as far as I know, it hasn't happened anytime s recently, but you know, it's used to happen a bit and I like I just felt bad. Like you're if but you're a young girl and that's what you want, you keep hearing that from everyone. Like how like it is discouraging, I think. Yeah. Hannah: One hundred percent. Well any final final yeah, final thoughts on when God speaks, yeah. Serena: When he speaks, just be obedient in it, especially in the small things. I think that's pretty much it. Hannah: Yeah, just be ready to I would say be ready to listen and my favorite word, be surrendered. Who knows where you will move details? Who knows where you will move? Or not. Honestly. Or call off an engagement or literally anything. The list is endless. Serena: Or maybe we'll get in a van one day and just do van life. Hannah: Yeah, you just might Yeah. Serena: Just my heat. Hannah: That was a crazy time, bro. All right. Well I feel like that's all. Serena: I feel like we did yeah. I think that pretty much hit everything.
