- 0:00Speaker 1: Kyle, what do we need to know today?
- 0:02Speaker 2: This is actually kind of scary. Hackers stole personal information
- 0:07Speaker 2: belonging to about 1.3 million people from Arizona's court system.
- 0:13Speaker 2: I feel like there's about that many people in this
- 0:15Speaker 2: state almost. So here's what they stole because it was
- 0:19Speaker 2: a lot of data that involves people with unpaid court
- 0:22Speaker 2: fines or fees going back decades, which you're like, okay,
- 0:25Speaker 2: that doesn't apply to me. But even more concerning, the
- 0:27Speaker 2: stolen files included nearly 30,000 protection orders, which could be
- 0:32Speaker 2: dangerous information to just be out there, I don't know,
- 0:35Speaker 2: on the dark web, and 150,000 foster care reports. Officials
- 0:41Speaker 2: do say they're currently checking into it and that they
- 0:44Speaker 2: have no evidence that the information has been misused just yet.
- 0:47Speaker 2: But a little unsettling to know that that's just out
- 0:50Speaker 2: there waiting to get used. I'm sure you saw it
- 0:53Speaker 2: on social media. It was pretty much everywhere yesterday. U
- 0:56Speaker 2: of A has temporarily shut down activities for all 21.
- 1:01Speaker 2: of its IFC fraternities because there are so many misconduct
- 1:05Speaker 2: investigations happening that the Dean of Students was like, oh
- 1:08Speaker 2: my gosh, my office is at capacity right now. Like,
- 1:11Speaker 2: nobody can do anything. Like, nobody can do anything. We
- 1:13Speaker 2: figure all of this out. So almost half the frats
- 1:16Speaker 2: have complaints with allegations including Pledges being forced to swallow
- 1:20Speaker 2: live goldfish, burned with hot liquids, deprived of sleep, forced
- 1:24Speaker 2: to drink until they blacked out, even kidnapped. Six fraternities
- 1:28Speaker 2: are fully suspended right now, and some of the allegations
- 1:31Speaker 2: are serious enough that police are now investigating as well.
- 1:35Speaker 2: So you got to get that under control. I think
- 1:37Speaker 2: we've spent the last few years trying to cram protein
- 1:40Speaker 2: into literally everything. You see protein everything right now on
- 1:44Speaker 2: the shelves.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Yeah, they get protein Cheez-Its. I don't think that's necessary. Right.
- 1:47Speaker 2: But now researchers are saying, may want to calm down
- 1:51Speaker 2: on the protein for a little bit because a new
- 1:53Speaker 2: review actually found that excessive amounts of protein... may be
- 1:58Speaker 2: like bad for you in a lot of different ways.
- 2:00Speaker 2: It can activate processes tied to inflammation and cellular damage
- 2:04Speaker 2: and could slow your metabolism down. But most of the
- 2:07Speaker 2: research is still kind of like from animal and preclinical
- 2:10Speaker 2: studies and stuff like that. But they are starting to
- 2:12Speaker 2: find out that you can have too much protein.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Can I jump in on this for a second?
- 2:18Speaker 2: Sure, John Jay.
- 2:19Speaker 1: So I think that's a very good story and it's true.
- 2:24Speaker 1: But the problem is Nobody is getting enough protein. It's
- 2:28Speaker 1: really hard to get too much protein. So I just
- 2:31Speaker 1: watched a video yesterday on YouTube. When I watch, I
- 2:34Speaker 1: like to go on YouTube and watch like all the
- 2:35Speaker 1: peptide videos and see what's going on. And normally when
- 2:37Speaker 1: I see a peptide video, especially the GLP-1s and stuff,
- 2:40Speaker 1: there's like, it's got 200 views. If I see it,
- 2:43Speaker 1: it's got 5,000 views. But I saw it had 13
- 2:45Speaker 1: million views. I was like, I got to watch this.
- 2:48Speaker 1: So this guy, I don't even know his name. I
- 2:49Speaker 1: don't even know how to find the video again. But
- 2:51Speaker 1: he starts talking about all the peptides and the GLP-1s, GLP-2s, GLP-3s.
- 2:55Speaker 1: And the problem with people, you know, they lose all
- 2:57Speaker 1: this weight and you get that face, right?
- 3:00Speaker 2: It's a sunken face. Yeah, they call it Ozempic face.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Because you're losing muscle and you're not exercising and you're
- 3:07Speaker 1: not eating enough protein. So what's happened is a lot
- 3:09Speaker 1: of people are now catching on because you lose 40%
- 3:12Speaker 1: of your muscle when you don't do anything and you're
- 3:15Speaker 1: on Ozempic or whatever, right? So what's happened is now
- 3:17Speaker 1: people are like, Going out and getting protein. You need
- 3:20Speaker 1: to have protein. You need to exercise. That's the number
- 3:23Speaker 1: one thing you got to do with these GLP-1s. And
- 3:25Speaker 1: what's happened is it's caused a protein shortage. And what's
- 3:27Speaker 1: happened now is protein is like gasoline now. It's really
- 3:30Speaker 1: expensive and hard to find. Yeah.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Like some of the good cottage cheese you can't even find.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Like the good, what is that? Good Cure or something
- 3:37Speaker 3: like that? That cottage cheese is gone. I also did.
- 3:39Speaker 2: See though that like your body can only process so
- 3:42Speaker 2: much protein in one sitting.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Right.
- 3:44Speaker 2: So like sometimes these protein shakes that have like 85
- 3:48Speaker 2: bajillion grams of protein are actually bad for your body
- 3:51Speaker 2: because your body can't handle.
- 3:52Speaker 1: A lot of protein at once. Most of them have
- 3:53Speaker 1: about 25 grams of protein. That's the max I've ever seen.
- 3:55Speaker 1: And there may be 28. And I think it's doable.
- 3:57Speaker 1: But it's hard to get your daily amount of protein
- 3:59Speaker 1: a day So that's one of those things I think
- 4:01Speaker 1: where they do research and it's probably 1% of the people,
- 4:04Speaker 1: it's probably the bodybuilders that get too much protein. Like
- 4:06Speaker 1: my wife, she doesn't get enough protein. She works very
- 4:08Speaker 1: hard at eating enough protein for the day and she doesn't.
- 4:09Speaker 1: It's hard. So that's what, you know, keep in mind,
- 4:12Speaker 1: I do have a podcast that does talk to doctors
- 4:16Speaker 1: about this stuff. Check it out. The highly successful John J.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Van Ness podcast. Okay.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Imagine ordering something at Starbucks specifically because it says sugar-free,
- 4:24Speaker 2: only to find out your venti could still have almost
- 4:28Speaker 2: a Kit Kat bar's worth of sugar in it.
- 4:30Speaker 4: Oh, dang.
- 4:31Speaker 3: That's sugar-free?
- 4:32Speaker 2: That is basically the argument in a new proposed class
- 4:35Speaker 2: action lawsuit claiming eight drinks marketed as sugar-free contain 13
- 4:39Speaker 2: to 21 grams of sugar because of the lactose naturally
- 4:42Speaker 2: found in milk. Starbucks says this lawsuit has no merit.
- 4:45Speaker 2: We will fight it.
- 4:46Speaker 4: Kyle?
- 4:47Speaker 3: As a person who doesn't have a health podcast, I
- 4:50Speaker 3: think we need to get more sugar. We can't eat
- 4:52Speaker 3: enough sugar. Can I jump in here for just a second? No.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Now, while we're on the coffee tip really quickly, apparently
- 4:58Speaker 2: if you make your coffee at home and you dump
- 5:01Speaker 2: your coffee grounds down the sink every morning and think, yeah,
- 5:04Speaker 2: the garbage disposal is going to handle it. Plumbers would
- 5:07Speaker 2: really like you to stop because coffee grounds don't dissolve.
- 5:10Speaker 2: So they can collect in your pipes and mix with
- 5:12Speaker 2: grease and food and soap into this really disgusting sludge
- 5:15Speaker 2: that eventually leaves you with a slow drain and a
- 5:18Speaker 2: potentially pretty expensive plumbing bill. So no more coffee grounds
- 5:21Speaker 2: in the sink.
- 5:22Speaker 3: Instead of what you need to know, we should call this,
- 5:24Speaker 3: you're doing everything wrong.
- 5:26Speaker 2: No, it's more like this is what you need to
- 5:28Speaker 2: know so that you don't get an expensive plumbing bill.
- 5:29Speaker 2: And that's what you need to know.
- 5:31Speaker 1: So, you know, Adam Sandler has given us a lot
- 5:33Speaker 1: of good songs recently.
- 5:34Speaker 3: Yes, he has.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Thanksgiving song, right?
- 5:37Speaker 2: What else?
- 5:37Speaker 1: The Hanukkah song. And, you know, I don't know if
- 5:40Speaker 1: you guys know this or not, but he's a big
- 5:41Speaker 1: bulldog lover. He's had a couple of bulldogs.
- 5:43Speaker 4: He had a bulldog in Meatball.
- 5:44Speaker 1: He's got a couple of, I can't remember his most
- 5:46Speaker 1: recent bulldog. But he wrote a song and it's in
- 5:48Speaker 1: one of his comedy specials. And I just love the
- 5:50Speaker 1: song so much. And I have an English bulldog. Her
- 5:52Speaker 1: name is Maggie and I love her to death. And
- 5:54Speaker 1: he did a song about, it's called Bulldog in a
- 5:56Speaker 1: Halloween Costume.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Okay.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Okay. And it is so, if you have a dog
- 6:00Speaker 1: and there's a whole research right now on people trying to,
- 6:03Speaker 1: get costumes for their pets for Halloween. This song is
- 6:06Speaker 1: so cute, and I just pictured my little girl, Maggie,
- 6:08Speaker 1: in this costume.
- 6:11Speaker 4: Bulldog in a Halloween costume. He's a bumblebee and he
- 6:17Speaker 4: don't look happy. Bulldog in a Halloween costume. He's just
- 6:23Speaker 4: a dog, but he understands dignity. Bulldog in a Halloween costume.
- 6:30Speaker 4: His grandpa was a wolf, now he's wearing antennas. Bulldog
- 6:36Speaker 4: in a Halloween costume. When you get home, you're gonna
- 6:39Speaker 4: get bit.
- 6:40Speaker 1: I pretty love that song.
