- 1:01Speaker 2: guardians pick up a victory on a nice afternoon game
- 1:04Speaker 2: to say the least seems like they draw some of
- 1:06Speaker 2: the better crowds when they play these afternoon games just
- 1:08Speaker 2: my observation at progressive field as opposed to the evening
- 1:12Speaker 2: games anyway it's uh plus it's been a strange day
- 1:16Speaker 2: strange day with uh windy conditions this morning raining uh
- 1:20Speaker 2: overnight uh windy then in my neck of the woods
- 1:23Speaker 2: you know we had a a bit of a shower
- 1:25Speaker 2: there for a period of time and on and off
- 1:27Speaker 2: rain and it's just one of those strange days to
- 1:30Speaker 2: say the least. So it seems like it's okay. Now
- 1:33Speaker 2: that the showers are behind us and, uh, smooth sailing,
- 1:36Speaker 2: but on the cool side was 64 degrees taking your
- 1:39Speaker 2: calls right now. It's of course, three, three, zero seven, two,
- 1:44Speaker 2: nine 99 77 running up the flagpole. See if anybody
- 1:47Speaker 2: wants to salute. You can do that on news radio,
- 1:51Speaker 2: five 72 to KVN, uh, 330-729-9977. 330-729-9977. We'll get you
- 2:01Speaker 2: through to us on NewsRadio 570 WKBN.
- 2:04Speaker 4: Welcome.
- 2:05Speaker 2: You're on the air.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Hello there.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Hello.
- 2:08Speaker 5: How are you?
- 2:11Speaker 2: Well, I'm pretty good because the Guardians picked up a
- 2:13Speaker 2: victory today. So that's not a bad day. That's a
- 2:16Speaker 2: good day. It's JJ the Liberal.
- 2:18Speaker 5: Yeah, it is. It's a good day. My pirates are
- 2:21Speaker 5: doing well also, and it's a nice day. It turned
- 2:24Speaker 5: out to be a nice day. It was a little
- 2:25Speaker 5: nasty this morning, and I don't do well when it rains, right?
- 2:28Speaker 5: I get little aches and pains and stuff, and kidneys
- 2:33Speaker 5: bother me a little bit and that, but you took
- 2:37Speaker 5: a lot of people to change at you yesterday, my friend.
- 2:42Speaker 4: Well.
- 2:43Speaker 3: You knocked them right out of the.
- 2:44Speaker 5: Park, you know that.
- 2:45Speaker 3: Listen....
- 2:48Speaker 2: I appreciate you saying that. And it doesn't– I go
- 2:51Speaker 2: back to say it again today, and I'll say it always.
- 2:55Speaker 2: I'm not here as a cheerleader for anybody. What I
- 2:58Speaker 2: see going on as far as this whole situation is
- 3:01Speaker 2: troubling to me. Listen, I think we got big problems
- 3:06Speaker 2: with our economy as a result of the situation that
- 3:09Speaker 2: he's got going on in Iran. And I sit back, JJ,
- 3:14Speaker 2: and often I wonder if he would have never got
- 3:16Speaker 2: involved in this. I say it again. I think Trump
- 3:19Speaker 2: got involved in this because he was sold this from Israel.
- 3:22Speaker 2: And that's why he got involved in this situation. And
- 3:26Speaker 2: this is going on. These are my views that he
- 3:31Speaker 2: got involved because of Israel. This is going on much
- 3:34Speaker 2: longer than he thought it would go on. I don't
- 3:37Speaker 2: believe he ever thought it would go on this long.
- 3:39Speaker 2: It's continuing to go on much longer than he thought
- 3:42Speaker 2: it would go on. Iran isn't rushing off to the
- 3:48Speaker 2: settlement table. Where they're saying, okay, we've pretty much dropped
- 3:52Speaker 2: that bunker buster in the past. We bombed the living
- 3:54Speaker 2: hell out of them. They should be tucking their tail
- 3:58Speaker 2: between their legs and coming to the negotiating table. Well,
- 4:01Speaker 2: it appears they're not... willing to do that or it's
- 4:05Speaker 2: certainly not willing to accept the terms. So they talk about, okay, well, maybe, well,
- 4:10Speaker 2: I just have to bomb them some more. Well, I
- 4:11Speaker 2: don't know that that's going to accomplish the goal or not.
- 4:15Speaker 2: So I sit here and I say to myself, all
- 4:18Speaker 2: this is going on. If we would have never got
- 4:20Speaker 2: involved gang in this from the very beginning, can you
- 4:23Speaker 2: imagine where we would have been economically speaking? Gas was
- 4:26Speaker 2: about two 50 a gallon. The economy was going on.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Everything was going in the right direction and, As a
- 4:32Speaker 2: result of our economy, inflation was going down, gas prices
- 4:36Speaker 2: were down, things were going in the right direction. Solely
- 4:39Speaker 2: as a result of this action that Trump decided to
- 4:43Speaker 2: do in the Middle East, things have done a 180.
- 4:47Speaker 2: High gas prices are back. I see them today like 450,
- 4:51Speaker 2: but they're still high gas prices. When they were 250
- 4:55Speaker 2: and inflation is back. And just I mean, he's destroyed
- 5:01Speaker 2: his own economic recovery. So I'm not supposed to sit
- 5:05Speaker 2: here and say that a guy that's meaning that, as
- 5:09Speaker 2: I always emphasize, that doesn't mean I'm a vote for
- 5:11Speaker 2: Sherrod Brown or a Democrat. It's just my observation that
- 5:14Speaker 2: the guy destroyed his own economic recovery by doing this.
- 5:18Speaker 2: And I think it's going to take a while to
- 5:20Speaker 2: get it back on track. And I think this is
- 5:22Speaker 2: very painful for large portions of this country. Those who
- 5:26Speaker 2: think it isn't are as out of touch as Joe
- 5:29Speaker 2: Biden and the Biden administration was when they were saying
- 5:32Speaker 2: the same things that we were all critical of. When
- 5:35Speaker 2: this was going on under Biden, we were all critical
- 5:37Speaker 2: of it, about the inflation and what was all happening. Well,
- 5:41Speaker 2: the same thing applies now. Equally as critical as far
- 5:45Speaker 2: as the attack on your wallets with the cost of energy,
- 5:48Speaker 2: with the cost of inflation, and what that's doing, and
- 5:52Speaker 2: we shall see. I mean, I can't help it if
- 5:55Speaker 2: people get pissed off as a result of it. I'm
- 5:58Speaker 2: not a cheerleader. I'm not going to sit here and say, well,
- 6:00Speaker 2: it was okay to criticize Biden's high gas prices and inflation,
- 6:04Speaker 2: but I shouldn't criticize Trump's high gas prices and inflation, right?
- 6:09Speaker 2: Because of decisions he made. He can't lay this on
- 6:11Speaker 2: the Democrats. This is all him right now. And who
- 6:14Speaker 2: knows how much longer this thing's going to go on.
- 6:16Speaker 6: What he needs is people like you in his administration,
- 6:24Speaker 6: which are supportive, and saying, hey, listen, I want you
- 6:27Speaker 6: to succeed.
- 6:29Speaker 5: I think you're on the right path. But he doesn't
- 6:33Speaker 5: need yes-men. And that's the thing that a person who
- 6:38Speaker 5: runs a business or a person who runs a family,
- 6:40Speaker 5: a person that is in any position of power, you
- 6:44Speaker 5: need people to be constructive criticism or to say that,
- 6:50Speaker 5: like I told you many months ago, and I don't
- 6:52Speaker 5: think it was based on my opinion, but I told
- 6:57Speaker 5: you at one time that you can support somebody, support
- 7:02Speaker 5: their views, support their objective, but also say you're not.
- 7:09Speaker 5: Doing it the proper way, and that can be positive.
- 7:13Speaker 5: And the thing is, is that, you know, I hear,
- 7:15Speaker 5: and again, I'm not going to pick on people, but
- 7:17Speaker 5: I hear Bubba Ganesh, and I hear, yesterday, I was
- 7:19Speaker 5: very disappointed in Ted again. He was, you know, I'm
- 7:23Speaker 5: glad his leg is doing better, but now, you know, just,
- 7:25Speaker 5: he was, yeah, you're not holding any, any, you're not
- 7:29Speaker 5: holding any, you know, Fire, for us, you're not holding
- 7:35Speaker 5: a lantern for us. You always are critical of us
- 7:38Speaker 5: and critical of my thinking and the things that I,
- 7:41Speaker 5: my views, because you want to make it, you want to,
- 7:45Speaker 5: that's the whole idea of this program and the whole
- 7:46Speaker 5: idea of what our country is based on. And I
- 7:50Speaker 5: just saw that he disappointed me once again, saying that,
- 7:54Speaker 5: you know, that we misunderstood him.
- 7:55Speaker 2: No, we didn't.
- 7:57Speaker 5: I looked at it and listened to it three more
- 7:58Speaker 5: times today, and no, that wasn't the case. The lady said,
- 8:03Speaker 5: because of the war, have you been thinking about how
- 8:06Speaker 5: this is affecting the American people? He wasn't, you know,
- 8:12Speaker 5: beating around the bush. He wasn't whatever, you know, whatever
- 8:16Speaker 5: you could come up with. It wasn't the case. And
- 8:18Speaker 5: then for him to say that, you know, that you
- 8:20Speaker 5: and I are, you know, that you think that you're
- 8:23Speaker 5: leading me to believe this or believe that doesn't understand
- 8:27Speaker 5: it just because I'm a Democrat doesn't make me stupid.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Right. And that's a good point. Let me just put
- 8:32Speaker 2: this out there. It doesn't matter what he said yesterday
- 8:36Speaker 2: or not. I'm just dealing with the reality of it.
- 8:39Speaker 2: And here is the reality. Perhaps the neocons want to
- 8:43Speaker 2: sell everybody on this particular situation that we're in now.
- 8:48Speaker 2: And many people were most of these people that are
- 8:51Speaker 2: talking about this situation weren't even remotely concerned or worried
- 8:55Speaker 2: about Iran and a nuclear threat at all. Till the
- 8:58Speaker 2: media dwelled on it and the neocons put out this information.
- 9:02Speaker 2: I wasn't staying up at night worried about Iran, worrying
- 9:05Speaker 2: about the nuclear weapon. I mean, we did the bunker
- 9:08Speaker 2: buster that was supposed to be the end of it.
- 9:10Speaker 2: Then we dropped all of this bombing and we're supposed
- 9:13Speaker 2: to really have wiped out all of their stuff. So
- 9:17Speaker 2: now they're talking about, well, they're still not willing to
- 9:20Speaker 2: reach an agreement. So we're just going to have to
- 9:22Speaker 2: bomb them more. Well, OK, how much more are you
- 9:25Speaker 2: going to bomb them? and what makes you think that's
- 9:28Speaker 2: going to be successful. So I just look at it.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Fox News keeps saying, well, they want to make a deal,
- 9:35Speaker 2: a deal's eminent, and that hasn't happened for weeks that
- 9:39Speaker 2: they keep saying that. You're blowing smoke. Yeah, I mean,
- 9:44Speaker 2: and you can't criticize. You can't say, listen, Trump was
- 9:47Speaker 2: talked into this by Netanyahu and by Israel, and that's
- 9:52Speaker 2: why we got into this. that Trump's not going to
- 9:55Speaker 2: admit that this has gone on longer than he thought
- 9:57Speaker 2: it would go on and it's getting difficult to figure out.
- 10:00Speaker 2: how to end this or get out of this and
- 10:02Speaker 2: is it okay is it okay if this goes.
- 10:05Speaker 5: On i didn't realize how war was or something i.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Mean is it okay if this goes on six months
- 10:10Speaker 2: or a year I mean, is that going to be okay?
- 10:14Speaker 2: Because we're ruining our economy. We are destroying our day-to-day
- 10:19Speaker 2: living for our citizens with energy prices and inflation. And
- 10:26Speaker 2: this is because of this single action. It is because
- 10:29Speaker 2: of this move that this is happening, and this is
- 10:32Speaker 2: causing immediate pain to a large segment of the American population.
- 10:38Speaker 2: And how much longer do you think they're going to
- 10:41Speaker 2: sit there? and say, you should be worried more about
- 10:44Speaker 2: Iran than you are your bills or inflation or what's
- 10:48Speaker 2: going on in your household. Because that didn't work for
- 10:50Speaker 2: Biden when Biden's people tried to blow it off as, oh,
- 10:53Speaker 2: it's transitory or, oh, it didn't work. People said to hell,
- 10:58Speaker 2: and they voted Trump in and all the Republicans in. Well,
- 11:01Speaker 2: if you think that the same thing can't happen, and
- 11:04Speaker 2: like I say, I would never vote for Sherrod Brown
- 11:06Speaker 2: or Democrat, but if you don't think the public will say,
- 11:08Speaker 2: we'll vote all these guys out and try the Democrats again,
- 11:11Speaker 2: then you're fooling yourself. Exactly.
- 11:14Speaker 5: That's the thing. Like I told you one time, I
- 11:17Speaker 5: think years ago, coming up to the railroad tracks and
- 11:23Speaker 5: me seeing the crossing sign and me seeing the gates,
- 11:27Speaker 5: I don't need to see the train to know that
- 11:28Speaker 5: there's a possible train coming. So those are signs that
- 11:33Speaker 5: the Republicans need to take and heed these warnings. And,
- 11:39Speaker 5: you know, it bothered me that, you know, like, personally,
- 11:41Speaker 5: Bubba Ganoush, you know, I like the guy, but, you know,
- 11:44Speaker 5: like he was saying that, you know, that everything's perfect,
- 11:48Speaker 5: and then you even said, well, we'll see what happens Monday,
- 11:50Speaker 5: and then it was the complete opposite, and I'm very
- 11:53Speaker 5: surprised that he's not learning from that, where he can
- 11:56Speaker 5: still support Trump.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Right.
- 11:57Speaker 5: He can still support the executive.
- 12:00Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 12:01Speaker 5: But also say that, you know, you've got to be,
- 12:03Speaker 5: you've got to make sure that this is, this is
- 12:05Speaker 5: a rollercoaster, and, you know, as you said, I laughed, sir.
- 12:09Speaker 2: No, I think you make a legit point. Thank you,
- 12:13Speaker 2: my friend. I appreciate it. I'll be right back.
- 12:16Speaker 5: Youngstown's news, weather, and talk station, 570 WKBN.
- 12:21Speaker 2: And your fearless leader, Ron Furp, from NewsRadio 570 WKBN.
- 12:25Speaker 2: It's almost like you've got to feel apologetic by saying, hey,
- 12:28Speaker 2: I wouldn't vote for Sherrod Brown. I'm not one of
- 12:30Speaker 2: those people that's going to say, I'll vote for the Democrats.
- 12:32Speaker 2: That's just not going to happen. But I'm not going
- 12:35Speaker 2: to sit here and say that anything Trump does, I'm
- 12:39Speaker 2: on it 100% and support it 100%. I mean, that's
- 12:43Speaker 2: just ridiculous. I scratched my head when I saw the
- 12:46Speaker 2: Democrats doing that for Joe Biden. And so where they
- 12:51Speaker 2: were making all these excuses for inflation and gas prices
- 12:55Speaker 2: and the effect that it was having on Joe bag
- 12:58Speaker 2: of donuts. They're making all of these excuses for it.
- 13:02Speaker 2: And it didn't matter. Because when push came to shove,
- 13:07Speaker 2: they lost everything. They lost everything in the election because people,
- 13:11Speaker 2: it is the economy, stupid. And people voted based on that.
- 13:15Speaker 2: And I suspect they will do that again if we
- 13:18Speaker 2: continue down this course. I mean, is it fair to
- 13:21Speaker 2: say this is why I believe he got into this
- 13:24Speaker 2: in the first place was because of Israel? Is it
- 13:26Speaker 2: fair to say that I honestly think this is going
- 13:29Speaker 2: on much longer than he ever thought it would go on?
- 13:32Speaker 2: That he's shocked that they haven't given in to this?
- 13:35Speaker 2: that he might have gotten some bad advice so that
- 13:38Speaker 2: they keep saying a deal's eminent but one isn't happening?
- 13:42Speaker 2: I mean, are you at the point where you don't
- 13:43Speaker 2: know who to make a deal with because so many
- 13:45Speaker 2: people have been wiped out? Or is it just that
- 13:47Speaker 2: they're not about to make a deal or the deal
- 13:49Speaker 2: that you want? And then you say, okay, we'll go
- 13:52Speaker 2: back to bombing them more. Well, we bombed a hell
- 13:54Speaker 2: of a lot now, and that doesn't seem like it's
- 13:58Speaker 2: working at the present time to get them to negotiate
- 14:01Speaker 2: with us as far as reaching an agreement. So if
- 14:04Speaker 2: we bomb them some more, I mean, how long is
- 14:06Speaker 2: this supposed to go on? The people don't want to
- 14:08Speaker 2: get involved in regime change and bog down in the
- 14:11Speaker 2: Middle East again. The expense involved in it. And they
- 14:15Speaker 2: certainly don't want soldiers deployed to the on the grounds.
- 14:21Speaker 2: And how successful can you be at winning a military
- 14:24Speaker 2: operation without ground troops? How successful has that been in
- 14:28Speaker 2: the past? You're on the air.
- 14:32Speaker 3: Ron, good afternoon, sir. How are you?
- 14:34Speaker 4: I am well.
- 14:35Speaker 2: Let me just hang on. I'll let you take it away.
- 14:38Speaker 2: And that's the reality that I'm dealing with here. I
- 14:42Speaker 2: don't give a damn. Inflation is affecting everyone right now.
- 14:45Speaker 2: I keep reading the CNBC and these reports and the
- 14:49Speaker 2: percentages that they're giving out there. If you don't think
- 14:52Speaker 2: that that isn't affecting everyone right here, right now, and
- 14:56Speaker 2: that that isn't having a big effect, and that's what
- 14:58Speaker 2: people are most concerned about, their life and what's going
- 15:01Speaker 2: on in their household, they're not worried about Iran. Go ahead.
- 15:06Speaker 3: Well, you know, what's the old saying? The path to
- 15:09Speaker 3: hell is paved with good intentions or something like that?
- 15:12Speaker 3: And I think you're probably right. I mean, I think
- 15:14Speaker 3: he probably got involved with this thinking it would be,
- 15:17Speaker 3: you know, very quickly over and done. I think he
- 15:21Speaker 3: was a little bit on a sugar high after what
- 15:23Speaker 3: happened with Maduro in Venezuela. And if you look at
- 15:27Speaker 3: what we've done to the military, I mean, we've really beaten,
- 15:30Speaker 3: you know, beaten the tar.
- 15:31Speaker 2: Out of them. But they haven't, again, they haven't reached
- 15:33Speaker 2: an agreement. People keep saying that.
- 15:36Speaker 3: Well, the problem you're going to run into is they're not,
- 15:38Speaker 3: and they're probably not going to. So now you've got
- 15:41Speaker 3: to come up with plan B. You know, very few people,
- 15:45Speaker 3: if you look at the wars since World War II
- 15:47Speaker 3: and even World War II, how many have really capitulated?
- 15:50Speaker 3: The North Vietnamese never capitulated. The North Koreans really didn't capitulate,
- 15:55Speaker 3: although we had, you know, that's probably the biggest misnamed
- 15:59Speaker 3: war because it really was a war against China, not
- 16:01Speaker 3: North Korea. But, you know, there's still an armistice, what, 50,
- 16:06Speaker 3: 70 years later.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:10Speaker 3: It's the older you break it, you bought it. And,
- 16:13Speaker 3: you know, I think, unfortunately, they broke it, and now
- 16:16Speaker 3: they're going to have to figure out what they want
- 16:18Speaker 3: to do with it and how to get out of
- 16:20Speaker 3: the mess. I think long term, like I've said all along,
- 16:24Speaker 3: I think long term, you know, you look 10 years
- 16:26Speaker 3: down the road, you're probably going to see that this
- 16:29Speaker 3: was the right thing to do. I don't think it's
- 16:30Speaker 3: going to be the invasion of Iraq in 2003 that,
- 16:33Speaker 3: you know, in hindsight looks like it was. A complete disaster.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Or it could be the exact opposite, where you destroyed
- 16:40Speaker 2: your presidency, your legacy, where you destroyed the American economy.
- 16:44Speaker 2: And don't forget, hurting a lot of economies in the
- 16:46Speaker 2: rest of the world. Because farmers are paying, if they
- 16:50Speaker 2: can get fertilizer, are paying way more for it. It's
- 16:52Speaker 2: hurting our farmers in our country. But you're going to
- 16:55Speaker 2: see other areas where you're going to have starvation in
- 16:58Speaker 2: many of these countries and major problems in a lot
- 17:00Speaker 2: of them. It's not just America and Iran. It has
- 17:03Speaker 2: got global effects to it as a result of this decision.
- 17:07Speaker 2: Stand by, Rich. I'll come right back to you and
- 17:10Speaker 2: hear your thoughts and more of your thoughts. We're here
- 17:12Speaker 2: tonight till 7. Ron Verp from the Kingdom of Mahoning.
- 17:15Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Let me get back to Rich. I just hate to
- 17:18Speaker 2: see where I put those thoughts out there. I mean,
- 17:21Speaker 2: where would this economy be if he would have never
- 17:25Speaker 2: got involved in this when gas was a 250? And
- 17:29Speaker 2: where would this economy be and inflation be? And things
- 17:32Speaker 2: could be soaring right now. And that's the American first program.
- 17:36Speaker 2: And could we be getting more people out of the
- 17:38Speaker 2: country that are here illegally? Just think of what where
- 17:41Speaker 2: the agenda is. could possibly be, as opposed to where
- 17:44Speaker 2: it is now with a prayer and a hope of, oh,
- 17:47Speaker 2: this will be over soon, which I've been hearing for
- 17:49Speaker 2: the longest period of time. And when it does, don't worry.
- 17:51Speaker 2: Everything will get back to normal. And, you know, oil
- 17:54Speaker 2: prices have come down and gas prices have come down.
- 17:57Speaker 2: And then I'm reading on some of the financial pages, oh, no,
- 18:00Speaker 2: they're not going to come down like that because there's
- 18:02Speaker 2: actually an oil shortage that has to be picked up.
- 18:05Speaker 2: A lot of what's going on is depletion of oil
- 18:07Speaker 2: reserves in places like China and the United States and
- 18:11Speaker 2: what have you, and that's what's kind of keeping prices
- 18:15Speaker 2: somewhat where they are right now. Well, when that stops,
- 18:20Speaker 2: it could just be a mess that takes a while
- 18:22Speaker 2: to fix.
- 18:24Speaker 3: Well, yeah, I won't argue with that. What's really kind
- 18:28Speaker 3: of strange, though, is how disconnected the market is. to
- 18:33Speaker 3: what's actually happening.
- 18:34Speaker 2: But isn't that always the case? If I said to you, Rich,
- 18:37Speaker 2: and I've said it for years, so I've got to
- 18:39Speaker 2: be fair, Main Street and Wall Street are two different entities.
- 18:43Speaker 2: They really are. I mean, I've seen it in the past.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Even under Biden, the market soared when we had horrible
- 18:50Speaker 2: situations on Main Street.
- 18:53Speaker 3: Yeah, but the market's supposed to be forward-looking. It's supposed
- 18:56Speaker 3: to look at where economic activity is going to be
- 18:59Speaker 3: six months to a year from now. and reflect that
- 19:02Speaker 3: in today's prices. It's anticipatory of what's going to happen
- 19:04Speaker 3: in the future. And, I mean, as of right now,
- 19:07Speaker 3: I mean, it doesn't look like this is going to
- 19:09Speaker 3: wrap up anytime soon, in my opinion. I just don't
- 19:12Speaker 3: think you've got anybody in Iran that can make a deal.
- 19:17Speaker 3: I think that's the problem they're running into is they
- 19:19Speaker 3: just don't have anybody to make a deal with because
- 19:22Speaker 3: the religious nutjobs with the guns aren't going to capitulate.
- 19:26Speaker 3: No different than the North Vietnamese never capitulated. The Japanese
- 19:29Speaker 3: wouldn't have if we didn't nuke them. You're just not
- 19:32Speaker 3: dealing with people that think the way we do. And that's,
- 19:37Speaker 3: you know, most of the world is like that. So
- 19:39Speaker 3: that's nothing unusual. So assuming this thing doesn't wrap up quickly,
- 19:46Speaker 3: which I don't think it's going to, you have to
- 19:49Speaker 3: figure economically. growth six months to a year from now
- 19:52Speaker 3: is a lot worse than what the market is currently reflecting.
- 19:58Speaker 3: The funny thing is, as John Arnold always said, we
- 20:00Speaker 3: don't really have a market anymore. I think it's more
- 20:03Speaker 3: of a casino.
- 20:04Speaker 2: It's manipulated. What John Arnold and those guys say, it's
- 20:08Speaker 2: major manipulation. I mean, would you not agree that there's
- 20:11Speaker 2: a lot of people making a lot of money on
- 20:13Speaker 2: this situation because they're tipped off and they're buying their
- 20:17Speaker 2: shortened stuff or they're getting into it? It's almost like
- 20:21Speaker 2: there's a two-tier system when it comes to the stock market.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Everybody else and these insiders that you see that are
- 20:26Speaker 2: making all these deals on inside information.
- 20:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't think that's anything new, though. I think
- 20:33Speaker 3: that's been going on for decades and decades, probably since
- 20:35Speaker 3: the market began, actually. If you go back and you read–
- 20:41Speaker 3: I was reading a book on– Oh, God, not Rockefellers.
- 20:45Speaker 3: It was Rockefellers, the Rockefeller-found families. I mean, if you
- 20:48Speaker 3: look at some of the stuff that went on in
- 20:49Speaker 3: the 1880s and stuff like that, it's a lot better
- 20:52Speaker 3: now than what it was. You know, there's not nearly
- 20:55Speaker 3: enough cornering the market and stuff that used to have.
- 20:57Speaker 3: But I just think that this isn't going to end
- 21:01Speaker 3: anytime soon because there's nobody to make a deal with.
- 21:04Speaker 3: I think that's the issue that he's running into. But
- 21:07Speaker 3: I would like to point out something where I think
- 21:10Speaker 3: I'm starting to be proven right and you and G2
- 21:12Speaker 3: were proven wrong on something.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Oh, I want to hear it.
- 21:14Speaker 3: And that's the war in Ukraine. Because Putin right now
- 21:18Speaker 3: is in a very bad space. You would think, I
- 21:21Speaker 3: think it was the Polish prime minister was quoted recently
- 21:25Speaker 3: as saying, why are we asking a country of 300 million,
- 21:28Speaker 3: referring to the United States, to help a continent of
- 21:33Speaker 3: 600 million, which is Europe, Defeat a country of 160 million,
- 21:37Speaker 3: which is Russia. That was a statement he made recently.
- 21:40Speaker 3: Why are we asking the United States when we've got
- 21:42Speaker 3: 600 million people here and Russia's only 180? But the
- 21:46Speaker 3: Ukrainians have scrapped and clawed and adapted, and they're kind
- 21:51Speaker 3: of taking the fight to Russia right now. I don't
- 21:54Speaker 3: know if you saw, I think it was over the
- 21:56Speaker 3: May Day parade weekend that they had in Russia last weekend,
- 21:59Speaker 3: where Putin... sort of begged Trump to get a ceasefire
- 22:03Speaker 3: put in place and said, you know, I think this
- 22:04Speaker 3: thing's just about over. Because if you start reading some
- 22:08Speaker 3: articles out there, Wall Street Journal, there's, you know, international media,
- 22:11Speaker 3: Al Jazeera, others, he's in a rough place at home.
- 22:14Speaker 3: The people in Russia are really, really starting to turn
- 22:17Speaker 3: on him and get, you know, it's questionable whether there
- 22:23Speaker 3: may be a coup attempt against him or, you know,
- 22:26Speaker 3: uprising and things like that. And when things go bad
- 22:28Speaker 3: in Russia, it doesn't usually... happens slowly, it usually is
- 22:31Speaker 3: all of a sudden, you know, today it's fine and
- 22:33Speaker 3: tomorrow all hell breaks loose. But I think, and I
- 22:38Speaker 3: told you then, I thought it was the right thing
- 22:40Speaker 3: to do to support Ukraine. I didn't support giving them
- 22:44Speaker 3: as much money as we were doing, but giving them
- 22:46Speaker 3: the weapons or selling them the weapons. Now at least
- 22:48Speaker 3: we're doing it, we're selling the Europeans the weapons. So
- 22:51Speaker 3: it's not really costing us what it was the first
- 22:53Speaker 3: two years that Sleepy Joe had it.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Well, what about the experts?
- 22:56Speaker 3: That's another war, though, that's going to end up. If
- 22:58Speaker 3: Ukraine can stand tall and survive this, and Russia just
- 23:02Speaker 3: sort of strikes a deal, and they'll probably keep what
- 23:05Speaker 3: they have but not get any more.
- 23:06Speaker 2: How many years has that gone on, though? How many years?
- 23:09Speaker 2: We're not talking months now.
- 23:10Speaker 3: It's been over four years. They've actually... Russia has been
- 23:13Speaker 3: fighting Ukraine longer than it took them to defeat the
- 23:15Speaker 3: Nazis in World War II.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Right, so... That's how.
- 23:18Speaker 3: Long that war's going on.
- 23:19Speaker 6: And.
- 23:21Speaker 3: And they've suffered over a million casualties, injured and wounded.
- 23:25Speaker 2: But look at Ukraine.
- 23:26Speaker 3: And a country of 160 million. So you stop and
- 23:28Speaker 3: think about how many people in Russia have kids that
- 23:32Speaker 3: are in their 20s and 30s who are either coming
- 23:35Speaker 3: back severely wounded or aren't coming back because they're in
- 23:39Speaker 3: a hole in the ground.
- 23:41Speaker 2: And likewise for Ukraine. It's a lot of death. Likewise
- 23:45Speaker 2: for Ukraine. Ukraine is destroyed. I mean, it's just destroyed.
- 23:52Speaker 2: And the death toll there is devastating with no end
- 23:57Speaker 2: in sight. And I would almost make the argument with
- 24:00Speaker 2: all the weapons that we provided to the Ukraine, the
- 24:02Speaker 2: ones that we gave them in the past and that
- 24:04Speaker 2: they bought from us, and with all the weapons that
- 24:08Speaker 2: we are using in the situation going on now in Iran...
- 24:13Speaker 2: I wonder how our stockpile of weapons really is at
- 24:16Speaker 2: this point in time. I'm sure they will never say anything,
- 24:20Speaker 2: but there's no way that you can't say that that's
- 24:23Speaker 2: got to be severely depleted.
- 24:26Speaker 3: One thing both of these wars has shown the U.S.
- 24:29Speaker 3: military is you can't take a $ 40, 000 Iranian Shahid drone,
- 24:35Speaker 3: and the Russians are using those too. Iran gave and
- 24:39Speaker 3: sold a bunch of those to Russia to use against
- 24:42Speaker 3: the Ukrainians. You can't take a drone that is costing
- 24:45Speaker 3: $ 40, 000 to produce and use a $ 2 million missile to
- 24:49Speaker 3: knock it out of the sky, especially when that missile takes,
- 24:52Speaker 3: you know, you can maybe produce, what, 30, 40 of
- 24:54Speaker 3: them a month? So they're going to have to really
- 24:58Speaker 3: look into, the Ukraine war to me is fascinating because
- 25:02Speaker 3: I've followed it pretty closely for the last four years.
- 25:05Speaker 3: And warfare before the Ukraine war and warfare after the
- 25:09Speaker 3: Ukraine war is going to be a totally different animal.
- 25:13Speaker 3: The days of using, you know, the days of the
- 25:15Speaker 3: tank are done. The Russians have lost 4,000-plus tanks in
- 25:20Speaker 3: this conflict. Pretty much every tank that the Ukrainians had
- 25:23Speaker 3: is gone, and most of the Western ones.
- 25:25Speaker 2: Why don't you tell me when it's going to end, then?
- 25:28Speaker 2: How much longer is that going to go on?
- 25:31Speaker 3: Well, then, once again, you know, the Ukrainians are not
- 25:34Speaker 3: going to surrender, and the Russians can't.
- 25:36Speaker 2: Run over them. They've tried for four years to run
- 25:38Speaker 2: over them.
- 25:38Speaker 3: They're not going to.
- 25:39Speaker 2: So do you think it's okay if it goes on
- 25:42Speaker 2: another five years?
- 25:43Speaker 3: I don't think it will, because I don't think the
- 25:45Speaker 3: Russian people are going to tolerate it.
- 25:47Speaker 2: No, but my point is.
- 25:48Speaker 3: The Ukrainians are, because they're defending their own land.
- 25:50Speaker 2: Well, it's their land, of course. Well, there's a couple
- 25:53Speaker 2: of different things. It's their land, and the proximity of
- 25:56Speaker 2: it to Russia is very close. It's much different than
- 25:59Speaker 2: this situation with Iran, where it's nowhere close to the
- 26:03Speaker 2: United States, and getting military equipment there is.
- 26:07Speaker 2: Difficult at best. And some of our so-called allies there
- 26:12Speaker 2: don't want us operating out of our bases there anymore,
- 26:15Speaker 2: where they're turning on us to say, get out in
- 26:20Speaker 2: the Middle East region. It's going to be interesting to
- 26:22Speaker 2: see what happens. I mean, one can argue Russia's close
- 26:26Speaker 2: to Ukraine, and that's their homeland. So it's much easier,
- 26:30Speaker 2: I guess, for both sides than it is for the
- 26:32Speaker 2: United States to deal with Iran, which is so far away.
- 26:37Speaker 2: And it's a whole difficult situation. I don't believe the
- 26:42Speaker 2: American people will tolerate this going on a year.
- 26:46Speaker 3: I agree with you. Although they tolerated Vietnam for, what,
- 26:49Speaker 3: nine years? It took forever to get out of Vietnam.
- 26:52Speaker 2: What was the lesson of Vietnam?
- 26:53Speaker 3: No.
- 26:54Speaker 2: What was the lesson of all the stuff in the
- 26:56Speaker 2: Middle East? Do you think the American people are going
- 26:57Speaker 2: to say, let's continue another endless war in the Middle
- 27:00Speaker 2: East for a period of time? If you haven't learned
- 27:04Speaker 2: from this situation, I don't know that you'll ever be successful.
- 27:09Speaker 2: I always hear some of these people argue, you can't
- 27:11Speaker 2: win an operation like this without boots on the ground. Well,
- 27:15Speaker 2: that's the last thing people want.
- 27:18Speaker 3: The lesson for us, I think, has to be enough of,
- 27:22Speaker 3: listen to what Washington said in his farewell address, where
- 27:25Speaker 3: he said, beware foreign entanglements. He knew, just stick with your,
- 27:30Speaker 3: mind your own business, stay in your country, and let
- 27:33Speaker 3: the rest of the world worry about the rest of
- 27:35Speaker 3: the world.
- 27:36Speaker 2: You don't see China getting involved in any of this
- 27:40Speaker 2: stuff as far as they are concerned. They're concentrating on
- 27:43Speaker 2: just winning everything economically. I mean, they're not doing this
- 27:49Speaker 2: kind of stuff, and I think America should stop doing
- 27:51Speaker 2: this kind of stuff. I mean, he has single-handedly destroyed
- 27:57Speaker 2: this economy at this point in time, and as this
- 28:01Speaker 2: goes on, it will get worse.
- 28:03Speaker 3: I mean, the thought— The retail inflation number today came out,
- 28:06Speaker 3: I think, was 6%. The retail inflation yesterday was, what,
- 28:09Speaker 3: over 4%. Right.
- 28:10Speaker 4: Right.
- 28:11Speaker 3: And if it keeps getting worse, I mean, it's going
- 28:15Speaker 3: to be an ugly November for the Republican Party. It's
- 28:17Speaker 3: going to be really.
- 28:18Speaker 2: And I hate to say this, Republicans, not with my votes,
- 28:22Speaker 2: but I understand it if it will, because the same
- 28:25Speaker 2: thing happened to the Democrats when they ignored the financial
- 28:28Speaker 2: situation that people are going through and made excuses for it.
- 28:32Speaker 2: And what did people say? No, not living like this.
- 28:35Speaker 2: All right. Appreciate it. Thank you. Rich, a pharmacist. You're
- 28:40Speaker 2: on the air.
- 28:42Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 28:42Speaker 4: How are you doing, Ron? Good, sir.
- 28:45Speaker 3: Go ahead.
- 28:46Speaker 4: Well, I was thinking, you know, just like a lot
- 28:49Speaker 4: of people were saying about Iran, you either deal with
- 28:52Speaker 4: them now while the people there are, like, protesting and
- 28:56Speaker 4: rebelling against them, or you deal with them another time
- 29:00Speaker 4: where they eliminate their protesters and the internal, you know,
- 29:04Speaker 4: problems they have. So what do you want to do?
- 29:07Speaker 4: You want to give, you know... I ran time to
- 29:10Speaker 4: get with maybe Russia, China, get a nuke, and then
- 29:15Speaker 4: they attack us. They attack Israel first, and then they
- 29:18Speaker 4: attack us. No, they need to be taken.
- 29:20Speaker 3: Care of now.
- 29:20Speaker 4: So it's a problem that, in my belief, is that
- 29:24Speaker 4: if you don't take care of it now, you're going
- 29:25Speaker 4: to have a bigger problem later. But, you know, to
- 29:29Speaker 4: compare what the Democrats were doing four years prior to Trump, they.
- 29:34Speaker 3: Were taxing the crap out of us. I mean, we
- 29:37Speaker 3: were high inflation, this and that.
- 29:39Speaker 4: Where was that money?
- 29:40Speaker 5: Going?
- 29:40Speaker 4: It was getting stolen out of Minnesota and California and
- 29:45Speaker 4: Democrat cities like that.
- 29:46Speaker 3: That's federal money. We all put into that.
- 29:48Speaker 2: For our benefit. You've got to tap the brakes. It's
- 29:52Speaker 2: getting stolen out of Republican states, including Ohio as well.
- 29:55Speaker 4: Because cities are being run by Democrats.
- 29:59Speaker 2: You know, I understand.
- 30:00Speaker 4: You've got a Republican state, but you've got cities that
- 30:04Speaker 4: are run by Democrats.
- 30:05Speaker 2: Yeah, but we're talking here in the state of Ohio
- 30:07Speaker 2: and the amount of Medicaid fraud here in Ohio. And
- 30:11Speaker 2: this is a Republican state.
- 30:12Speaker 4: And you have cities that are blue, even though it's
- 30:15Speaker 4: a red state. So, yeah, there's fraud all over the place.
- 30:20Speaker 4: And what the Democrats did was, you know, it was
- 30:23Speaker 4: like on steroids.
- 30:24Speaker 3: Right.
- 30:25Speaker 4: You know what I mean? All that thieving they were
- 30:27Speaker 4: doing in Minnesota, it's just the tip of the iceberg.
- 30:30Speaker 4: But what I'm getting at is during the four years
- 30:33Speaker 4: that Biden was raising inflation, they were having a good
- 30:37Speaker 4: time on our money. Right now we're experiencing inflation because
- 30:42Speaker 4: there's a problem. It's called Iran. And they were really
- 30:46Speaker 4: close to getting a nuke. And what do you think
- 30:48Speaker 4: they're going to do when they finally get a nuke?
- 30:50Speaker 4: Have we just said, you know what, let's mind our
- 30:52Speaker 4: own business and, you know, get gas at $ 1. 85 like
- 30:56Speaker 4: it was the first time he was president? They're not
- 30:58Speaker 4: worried about that. They get a nuke and they come
- 31:00Speaker 4: over here.
- 31:00Speaker 5: Guess what?
- 31:01Speaker 4: We're all going to be speaking Arabic. No, we're not.
- 31:05Speaker 2: No, we're not. I happen to agree with G2' s assessment.
- 31:07Speaker 2: If you believe for one minute that even if Iran
- 31:10Speaker 2: had a nuclear weapon... I don't believe that. No, you
- 31:14Speaker 2: didn't even let me finish my thought that I was
- 31:16Speaker 2: going to say. I didn't finish what I was saying
- 31:19Speaker 2: to you before you did. As he said, if you
- 31:22Speaker 2: believe for one minute that Iran getting a nuclear weapon
- 31:24Speaker 2: would launch it or do something against the United States,
- 31:27Speaker 2: we would obliterate them in the blink of an eye.
- 31:30Speaker 2: And they know that as well, because no matter what
- 31:32Speaker 2: they have, it is nowhere close to what we have
- 31:36Speaker 2: here to deal with that. OK, now their argument is,
- 31:40Speaker 2: which I wish I could remember which Kennedy brothers said it.
- 31:43Speaker 2: You have to understand your enemy and what they're thinking
- 31:48Speaker 2: when you get in these conflicts. So you've got to
- 31:51Speaker 2: first realize they have a whole different culture than you.
- 31:54Speaker 2: They don't think like you. They don't want to be you.
- 31:59Speaker 2: So this idea of the past experience with us. No,
- 32:03Speaker 2: I'm going to answer your question. You're talking about the protesters,
- 32:07Speaker 2: the protesters. Well, guess what?
- 32:09Speaker 4: The protesters are against that real law. They actually converted
- 32:14Speaker 4: to Christianity there. They're sick of what they've been experiencing
- 32:18Speaker 4: for almost 50 years now. They're sick of what's going on.
- 32:21Speaker 4: And now, you know, the idea was, well, hey, we'll
- 32:26Speaker 4: take out their armies and their military and that. Hopefully
- 32:29Speaker 4: the inside, you know, the people that live there, they're
- 32:32Speaker 4: going to uprise. It ain't happening.
- 32:34Speaker 2: Of course it's not.
- 32:35Speaker 4: You know, a bad bill of goods. You know, in
- 32:38Speaker 4: other words, there's something that has to happen internally somehow.
- 32:42Speaker 4: It ain't just us.
- 32:46Speaker 2: Well, aren't you making a lot of assumptions? You don't
- 32:49Speaker 2: know how many people there are perfectly comfortable with the
- 32:52Speaker 2: system as it is versus some of the people who
- 32:54Speaker 2: are not. Remember, the protesters started protesting until they started
- 32:58Speaker 2: shooting them between the eyes. And guess what the protesters
- 33:01Speaker 2: did at that point? They stopped protesting because they were
- 33:06Speaker 2: killing them right then and there. So this idea that
- 33:10Speaker 2: you still got the military in Iran– Are you going
- 33:15Speaker 2: to go out and protest knowing how they deal with
- 33:19Speaker 2: protesters over there? Are you going to go out and
- 33:22Speaker 2: take a stand in the street?
- 33:24Speaker 4: I don't blame them at all, but my philosophy is
- 33:27Speaker 4: let's just get the job over with.
- 33:28Speaker 2: Well, how do you get it over with?
- 33:30Speaker 4: 50 years of living in a cave somewhere with that
- 33:32Speaker 4: kind of mentality. And all they want to do is.
- 33:35Speaker 2: Tell us to go out and destroy it. Well, how
- 33:38Speaker 2: do you get it over with? So you say, let's
- 33:40Speaker 2: get the job over with.
- 33:41Speaker 4: Put the boots on the ground, but you ain't got
- 33:44Speaker 4: a Congress that's going to help you out there. You
- 33:46Speaker 4: need boots on the ground, get this taken care of,
- 33:49Speaker 4: and put it to sleep. Because these are like people
- 33:51Speaker 4: throwing rocks at people that have a real military. And
- 33:56Speaker 4: what they've been accustomed to for the last 47 years
- 33:59Speaker 4: is people have catered to them or ignored them, and
- 34:04Speaker 4: they're used to that. And they will take advantage of that.
- 34:07Speaker 4: Now they hit a brick wall with Trump, and they think, well,
- 34:12Speaker 4: sooner or later, he's not going to be president, and
- 34:14Speaker 4: we'll get somebody in there. that will just cater to
- 34:17Speaker 4: us all over again. But this time, we're coming. In
- 34:22Speaker 4: my mind, that's their mentality. They think they could take.
- 34:25Speaker 3: Us over time.
- 34:27Speaker 2: Well, here would be my speculation on everything you said.
- 34:33Speaker 2: I don't believe they can take the United States ever.
- 34:35Speaker 3: I don't either.
- 34:36Speaker 2: No, you just said it. You just said that's what
- 34:41Speaker 2: you thought they would be thinking.
- 34:42Speaker 4: No, I think that's how they think, because they've been
- 34:46Speaker 4: treated like that, with pallets of money, ignored every time
- 34:51Speaker 4: they kill our guys. They've killed plenty of Americans over
- 34:54Speaker 4: 47 years. Even during the Iraq War, they would cross
- 34:58Speaker 4: that border and shoot our guys, and W didn't answer
- 35:03Speaker 4: back just to show us that they can do that.
- 35:07Speaker 4: In other words, to intimidate the United States. They were
- 35:10Speaker 4: doing that during the Iraq War. They were killing our guys.
- 35:13Speaker 2: How has it worked out for us? Let me ask
- 35:15Speaker 2: you this. How successful have we been in the Middle East?
- 35:22Speaker 8: Well.
- 35:24Speaker 4: How successful have we been?
- 35:28Speaker 2: I'm asking you just based on the history. How successful
- 35:32Speaker 2: have we been since Vietnam? Let me go back that far.
- 35:36Speaker 4: Well, we're in Vietnam. We lost Vietnam.
- 35:42Speaker 2: Okay. Would you not agree that many people will fight
- 35:45Speaker 2: a lot harder than others when it's their homeland, when
- 35:48Speaker 2: it's where they live? Would you not agree with that?
- 35:51Speaker 2: Stand by for a minute. Just hang on. I'll come
- 35:53Speaker 2: back to you in a minute. Talk more with him
- 35:54Speaker 2: and more of your calls ahead. News Radio 570 WKBN
- 36:01Speaker 2: and run for 454 in the afternoon. I'm just saying,
- 36:05Speaker 2: if you look at, we haven't, when you're fighting an
- 36:08Speaker 2: enemy where that's their homeland, their country, it's much different
- 36:12Speaker 2: than when you're the visitor going there to try to
- 36:15Speaker 2: deal with it, particularly when it's far away from your
- 36:18Speaker 2: Your homeland. We saw that in Vietnam. We saw that
- 36:22Speaker 2: in Afghanistan. We see that in the Middle East in general.
- 36:26Speaker 2: It's a long ways away from where.
- 36:28Speaker 4: I was at Iraq.
- 36:29Speaker 2: Okay.
- 36:30Speaker 4: We were successful, right?
- 36:31Speaker 2: No, I don't know that we were successful in anything
- 36:33Speaker 2: in the Middle East.
- 36:34Speaker 4: Well, then they changed regimes, and of course they let,
- 36:37Speaker 4: you know, Obama let ISIS take over Iraq.
- 36:41Speaker 2: I mean... I just look, it's been a disaster in
- 36:45Speaker 2: most of these.
- 36:46Speaker 4: And, you know, Iraq at one time was beating the
- 36:49Speaker 4: crap out of Iran. And we took Iraq out. So
- 36:54Speaker 4: I don't think it's impossible. Not for us.
- 36:58Speaker 3: It's not impossible.
- 37:00Speaker 2: Well, we shall see. I mean, as this drags on,
- 37:03Speaker 2: what is possible is that we can destroy the American economy.
- 37:07Speaker 2: And there's big ramifications for that, which will be of
- 37:11Speaker 2: more immediate concern than somebody worrying about a nuclear weapon
- 37:13Speaker 2: with Iran.
- 37:15Speaker 4: Well, they said before this started, they were just weeks
- 37:18Speaker 4: away from having a bomb. You know, when this all started.
- 37:22Speaker 2: If you believe them. I mean, they also... I mean,
- 37:25Speaker 2: the people we know personally.
- 37:27Speaker 4: They can say that that wasn't the case.
- 37:29Speaker 2: Well, they also told you it was done and over
- 37:31Speaker 2: with with the bunker buster. Don't worry about it. Everything's buried.
- 37:35Speaker 2: It's all done and over with. Well, what do you
- 37:37Speaker 2: want to believe? Which one is the truth? I mean,
- 37:43Speaker 2: you know, is it... Why did it change from the
- 37:46Speaker 2: bunker buster to where it is now? Do you think it's...
- 37:50Speaker 2: Do you think Iran is more of a threat to
- 37:52Speaker 2: Israel or to the United States? I think it goes
- 37:57Speaker 2: both ways.
- 37:57Speaker 4: I think it's Israel and then the United States. If
- 38:00Speaker 4: they can take out Israel, they can partner up with
- 38:05Speaker 4: Russia or China, North Korea, and then we'd have a
- 38:08Speaker 4: real problem.
- 38:08Speaker 2: I don't see Russia and China trying to partner up
- 38:11Speaker 2: with them as far as going and assisting them. China
- 38:17Speaker 2: pretty well minds its own business as far as getting
- 38:20Speaker 2: involved in things. They might get involved in it by
- 38:23Speaker 2: providing some equipment or something, but they stay pretty much
- 38:26Speaker 2: to themselves.
- 38:27Speaker 4: Weren't they already accused of helping them out with some equipment?
- 38:30Speaker 2: Yeah, but you don't see them putting troops anywhere, do you?
- 38:35Speaker 4: No, you don't.
- 38:36Speaker 2: They're just kind of saying, we're going to just kind
- 38:39Speaker 2: of continue on here. and win the war economically, win
- 38:43Speaker 2: the economic war is kind of what their philosophy is.
- 38:47Speaker 4: And this is my philosophy, and I believe it.
- 38:50Speaker 2: Okay, but do you believe that the American people will
- 38:53Speaker 2: tolerate huge inflation that's back again and energy prices that
- 38:58Speaker 2: are back again?
- 38:59Speaker 4: And again, if we look and see why these prices
- 39:03Speaker 4: are going up compared to the Democrats, you had nothing
- 39:06Speaker 4: to show for it. It was like taxation without representation.
- 39:09Speaker 4: They were stealing our money all over the country. They
- 39:11Speaker 4: were having a good time with it. We had nothing.
- 39:15Speaker 2: So in your opinion, people will tolerate high prices for this?
- 39:20Speaker 4: No, I'm not saying that either. I'm thinking you need
- 39:23Speaker 4: to split hairs with this. There was one way where
- 39:26Speaker 4: they inflated cost of living. and now there's another here
- 39:31Speaker 4: that's actually protecting America. It's protecting our interests, you know,
- 39:37Speaker 4: and it's protecting us. They weren't doing nothing.
- 39:39Speaker 3: To protect us.
- 39:40Speaker 4: They were opening up the borders. With that tax money,
- 39:43Speaker 4: they were giving it to illegals. These illegals were all
- 39:46Speaker 4: over America, like terrorists, killing people. I mean, that's where
- 39:50Speaker 4: our tax money was going.
- 39:53Speaker 8: We don't have that.
- 39:54Speaker 4: The borders shut down.
- 39:55Speaker 2: We have a nuclear weapon from Iran, and we're addressing
- 39:57Speaker 2: the problem. All right, I'll put it out there, see
- 40:04Speaker 2: what people say.
- 40:05Speaker 4: Like I said, if you don't deal with them now,
- 40:07Speaker 4: you may have to deal with them another time when
- 40:09Speaker 4: they're more powerful.
- 40:10Speaker 2: All right, NewsRadio 570, Dodie Cummings. Kind of an argument
- 40:13Speaker 2: that they used in Vietnam. Oh, if we let that happen,
- 40:16Speaker 2: it's going to be the domino effect.
- 40:22Speaker 8: From ABC News, I'm Lindsay Davis, anchor of Prime, streaming
- 40:27Speaker 8: weeknights on ABC News Live. The economic pressure from the
- 40:31Speaker 8: war with Iran is weighing on Americans paying more for groceries,
- 40:34Speaker 8: gas and energy. Inflation at the wholesale level surged last
- 40:37Speaker 8: month by 6 percent compared to a year ago. In
- 40:40Speaker 8: Los Angeles at a food distribution event, Jose Torres says
- 40:43Speaker 8: his family is trying to make ends meet.
- 40:45Speaker 2: It's really bad. That's why we're here. You know, prices
- 40:48Speaker 2: are going sky high.
- 40:49Speaker 5: Everything's really pricey, even the gas and everything.
- 40:55Speaker 2: So it makes it a little bit hard.
- 40:56Speaker 8: Inflation along with trade and the Iran conflict will be
- 40:59Speaker 8: on the agenda in Beijing. President Trump received a red
- 41:01Speaker 8: carpet welcome and is set to hold summit talks with
- 41:04Speaker 8: China's leader. ABC's Selena Wang has more.
- 41:06Speaker 7: The Trump administration prior to this trip has made it
- 41:08Speaker 7: clear that they want Beijing to use their leverage over
- 41:11Speaker 7: Tehran to convince Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
- 41:14Speaker 7: But what I'm hearing from experts is that China doesn't
- 41:17Speaker 7: want to get drawn too deeply into this. They're happy
- 41:19Speaker 7: to encourage an end to this war. They would prefer
- 41:22Speaker 7: that it ends, but they don't want to get too
- 41:24Speaker 7: involved because they really see this as America's problem to solve.
- 41:27Speaker 8: The Senate confirmed the nomination for Kevin Warsh today, clearing
- 41:30Speaker 8: the final hurdle to become the new Federal Reserve Chair.
- 41:33Speaker 8: In Utah, a judge sentenced Corey Britchens to life in
- 41:36Speaker 8: prison today without parole. The mother and wife was convicted
- 41:39Speaker 8: of fatally lacing her husband's drink with fentanyl.
- 41:42Speaker 9: Moments after Corey Richens spoke to the court with a
- 41:45Speaker 9: message for.
- 41:45Speaker 2: Her three children.
- 41:46Speaker 6: I did not abandon you.
- 41:48Speaker 9: The judge handed down her sentence after a jury convicted
- 41:51Speaker 9: Richens of killing her husband for life insurance money by
- 41:55Speaker 9: serving him a fentanyl tainted cocktail in bed.
- 41:58Speaker 3: The court hereby sentences you to life. without parole.
- 42:01Speaker 9: Richens maintains her innocence. Her attorneys told the court they
- 42:05Speaker 9: plan to move for a new trial. Alex Stone, ABC News.
- 42:08Speaker 8: Health officials are monitoring three dozen people across the U.S.
- 42:11Speaker 8: exposed to hantavirus. It includes cruise ship passengers who remain
- 42:15Speaker 8: in quarantine centers in Nebraska and Georgia. You're listening to
- 42:18Speaker 8: ABC News.
