Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Coming up relatables.
- 0:02Speaker 2: That's the issue. I have one that says girl friendships
- 0:06Speaker 2: hold one another accountable.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Yes they do.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Men do not hold each other accountable.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Relatable.
- 0:23Speaker 2: The Relatables podcast is hosted by myself, Jake Craig aka Daddy,
- 0:27Speaker 2: and my partner in crime, Addie Clark aka Mummy. And
- 0:32Speaker 2: he is Mummy because he's the one you go to
- 0:35Speaker 2: when you want to talk about your feelings.
- 0:37Speaker 1: And Jake is Daddy because he's hairy.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the young I haven't had that one yet.
- 0:42Speaker 1: And you guys listening other baddies, and.
- 0:44Speaker 2: You guys are the baddies. I was been thinking every
- 0:47Speaker 2: time I say Oddie is Mummy because he's the one
- 0:49Speaker 2: you go to when you want to talking about your feelings.
- 0:50Speaker 2: I was thinking, we've got to break the norm.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Break the norm. We've got to break the in a
- 0:55Speaker 1: sense of mend stereotype talking about their feelings.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Yeah, you wouldn't often go to your.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Yeah, but that's also because not only are they bad
- 1:04Speaker 1: are talking about their feelings, they're also just like not
- 1:09Speaker 1: very approachable sometimes and they don't ask. Yeah, they don't
- 1:14Speaker 1: ask mums. But we can change that. Mums want to
- 1:17Speaker 1: when we're fathers. Yeah, mums want the goss.
- 1:21Speaker 2: We got to change.
- 1:22Speaker 1: They want to tea Yeah, I think so.
- 1:26Speaker 2: I think mums always want all the info. But welcome
- 1:31Speaker 2: in to all the bodies and big welcome to all
- 1:35Speaker 2: the new badies if you.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Know, yeah, all the new ones. We want to say
- 1:37Speaker 1: that you are old, you're welcome.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Yeah, of course, of course. But straight up we're gonna
- 1:43Speaker 2: do I g question.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Yeah, let's kick things off of a bang ag.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Yeah. We thought maybe anyone that's new might not want
- 1:49Speaker 2: to just like tinker around and get bored and see
- 1:53Speaker 2: what we're about. Straight away, we're gonna heat with what
- 1:55Speaker 2: we do every week is an ig question.
- 1:57Speaker 1: It's kind of like we're going straight to the main
- 1:59Speaker 1: and then we're coming back for an entree.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, and who doesn't. Here's my
- 2:03Speaker 2: argument is the entree is the best part of the meal,
- 2:07Speaker 2: so you may as well get it over and done, like,
- 2:09Speaker 2: get the bad stuff over and done with. Right. I'm
- 2:12Speaker 2: not saying that what we're about to do is bad,
- 2:13Speaker 2: but you know, get the main out of the way,
- 2:15Speaker 2: because everyone's so happy when the entrees.
- 2:17Speaker 1: It's because you're still hungry after and you're looking forward
- 2:19Speaker 1: to more.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Oh yeah, are you happy when the entres come because
- 2:22Speaker 2: you're hungry? This is gonna ever so slightly curb that
- 2:27Speaker 2: or what's it called herba craving? And then and then me,
- 2:30Speaker 2: So maybe entre should always be at star?
- 2:32Speaker 1: Is this diminishing the I don't know what the vibe
- 2:36Speaker 1: of this podcast is. By putting the main first.
- 2:37Speaker 2: We'll let the badies be the judge of that, judge
- 2:41Speaker 2: of that. But the question this week was what have
- 2:45Speaker 2: you seen girl friendships do really well that boy friendships don't?
- 2:51Speaker 2: Kind of different it is, it's a different question that
- 2:53Speaker 2: than we would normally ask because these are kind of conversation.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Starts, very talkative. Yeah, you kick things off.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Okay, I tried to choose some talkative ones, but I
- 3:02Speaker 2: also tried to choose them I guess not so talkative.
- 3:06Speaker 2: So what have you seen girlfriendships do really well that
- 3:10Speaker 2: boyfriendships don't? Trips to the bathroom together? What's so fun
- 3:16Speaker 2: about the girls bathroom? Yeah? What's so fun about the
- 3:20Speaker 2: girl's bathroom? And are you making the girl's bathroom the
- 3:24Speaker 2: fun place because we're not allowed in there?
- 3:26Speaker 1: Yeah, it's interesting too, because how men view bathrooms is
- 3:31Speaker 1: the worst thing you could possibly do is like, I
- 3:33Speaker 1: don't know, look at someone while they're taking a piss.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a very common. Uh what's it called? The
- 3:40Speaker 2: etiquette in men's bathroom is if there's three urinals and
- 3:46Speaker 2: a stall with a toilet, if the two if you
- 3:49Speaker 2: go in there and there's all urinals are free, you
- 3:51Speaker 2: go to the outside one. Someone else comes in, they
- 3:53Speaker 2: go to the they leave the middle one. If a
- 3:56Speaker 2: third person comes into, we they don't. It's rude to
- 3:59Speaker 2: go into the very middle one. They will use the
- 4:00Speaker 2: stall ifs and if it's not open, you wait, you wait,
- 4:04Speaker 2: you have to, you have to. It's etiquette.
- 4:06Speaker 1: But girls two people in the store, I mean, men
- 4:10Speaker 1: just don't do it. Blessing and a curse though, because
- 4:14Speaker 1: having a urinal much quicker? Yeah?
- 4:18Speaker 2: Yeah, But is the men's bathroom quicker because of urinals
- 4:23Speaker 2: and we stand in there or is it quicker because
- 4:26Speaker 2: we're alone?
- 4:28Speaker 1: I don't know. It's a good point. I think it's
- 4:30Speaker 1: a combination of both.
- 4:31Speaker 2: I think to get because there's always lines at like
- 4:35Speaker 2: the airport and stuff, and I don't think there's two
- 4:37Speaker 2: girls going in there just having a chat.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Okay, what have you seen girl friendships do really well
- 4:43Speaker 1: that guy friendships don't. They meet up for things not
- 4:46Speaker 1: involving alcohol. Yeah, the half truth, the harsh truth of that.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Right now, Yeah, we're realizing.
- 4:55Speaker 2: I would say, I'm trying to think it's almost I'm
- 5:00Speaker 2: kind of jealous that. So I've said before that I
- 5:04Speaker 2: don't dislike the fact that men kind of need a
- 5:09Speaker 2: reason to meet up, like you and I doing this
- 5:12Speaker 2: podcast or going to play golf, you know, doing an
- 5:14Speaker 2: activity while talking. And but I will say I am
- 5:19Speaker 2: quite jealous that girls will just hang out to hang out,
- 5:28Speaker 2: you know, just come over, have a sleepover. Maybe I
- 5:31Speaker 2: don't know, just like literally hang out to hang out.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Like best's friends will come to our place for dinner
- 5:37Speaker 2: for no reason apart from the fact that they're just friends,
- 5:39Speaker 2: which is like, makes the most sense ever. But guys
- 5:44Speaker 2: just don't do that.
- 5:46Speaker 1: It's funny too. I was having a conversation with one
- 5:48Speaker 1: of our mates recently, and our thing is going for
- 5:51Speaker 1: a swim. Yep, and to us, that's super normal, just
- 5:54Speaker 1: going for a swim, chilling at the beach. I suppose
- 5:57Speaker 1: it's a little bit of an activity, but that's our thing.
- 5:59Speaker 1: And he said to me, the other. He's just like,
- 6:01Speaker 1: it's funny that I couldn't do this with a lot
- 6:02Speaker 1: of ourtherum mates. If I said to him, you want
- 6:04Speaker 1: to go for a swim, they'd be like, what the fuck?
- 6:05Speaker 1: What do you mean?
- 6:06Speaker 2: Yeah, you know it's funny, is it. Imagine if you
- 6:09Speaker 2: went one step further and this friend you go on
- 6:11Speaker 2: swims with, instead of saying you want to come go
- 6:14Speaker 2: for a swim, he said, you just want to come
- 6:16Speaker 2: over to my house for like twenty minutes. You'd be like,
- 6:20Speaker 2: you probably be thinking like, what the fuck?
- 6:22Speaker 1: We don't do that.
- 6:23Speaker 2: But at the same time, it's like he just is
- 6:24Speaker 2: a friend that just wants you to come over and
- 6:25Speaker 2: hang out for a bit. He doesn't feel like swimming today.
- 6:28Speaker 1: A good thing for men to think about and maybe
- 6:32Speaker 1: reassess their friendship groups is could you hang out one
- 6:35Speaker 1: on one with all of them without an activity or
- 6:39Speaker 1: a very very minimal activity just a walk.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Damn yeah, I walk a swim where it's very sure
- 6:46Speaker 3: it's not really an activity because I'll throw and you
- 6:48Speaker 3: can do a little thing here or there, just puss
- 6:50Speaker 3: things up because it's something you actually want to do,
- 6:51Speaker 3: because sometimes you don't just want to Sitalad.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Yeah, do you think men are kind of maybe naturally
- 6:59Speaker 2: like keep what's this?
- 7:02Speaker 1: I think they can't hold a conversation, is it? Yeah?
- 7:05Speaker 2: Do you think it's that that?
- 7:06Speaker 1: I don't think they can hold a conversation about something
- 7:08Speaker 1: going on in the background.
- 7:10Speaker 2: But it's funny, Like, so tonight I'm staying at your house,
- 7:14Speaker 2: and I'm staying at your house because we're recording three
- 7:17Speaker 2: days back to back, right, and we're kind of spread
- 7:19Speaker 2: it out a bit, so we stay chill and we
- 7:21Speaker 2: don't like force anything. But so like tonight you and
- 7:26Speaker 2: I could or we most likely will have dinner whatever
- 7:31Speaker 2: and then like both just sit down on your lounge
- 7:33Speaker 2: and like watch something and we won't care about that.
- 7:36Speaker 2: But if it wasn't because we had to do the
- 7:40Speaker 2: podcast back to back to back, we wouldn't do it.
- 7:42Speaker 1: No, it's funny.
- 7:44Speaker 2: It's funny because we would be like I just want
- 7:47Speaker 2: to be at hot Yeah, But at the same time,
- 7:50Speaker 2: it's like we can do it, isn't that interesting? I think,
- 7:54Speaker 2: you know, I think men actually can do it. I'm
- 7:56Speaker 2: thinking of friends I can do it with, and I
- 7:58Speaker 2: actually think there's friends that.
- 7:59Speaker 1: I could do it.
- 8:01Speaker 2: I actually don't have an answer to that question. I
- 8:05Speaker 2: don't want to. I think it's because I don't want to.
- 8:06Speaker 1: I'm thinking I could do it with other people. I
- 8:10Speaker 1: think we're also out of the norm in the sense
- 8:11Speaker 1: of our relationship business partners, yeah, lovers, mothers and fathers, yeah,
- 8:18Speaker 1: but thinking about our other mates, like I could definitely
- 8:21Speaker 1: do it. I guess there's a line of I don't
- 8:22Speaker 1: want to do it, but also I think there would
- 8:24Speaker 1: be a little awkward line we would have to cross,
- 8:26Speaker 1: and that's maybe deterring me from wanting to do it.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Do you think it makes the relationship more of a
- 8:31Speaker 2: like maybe not using you and I for example, because
- 8:34Speaker 2: I would say we have a relationship that isn't that
- 8:36Speaker 2: is an actual relationship and more so than maybe most
- 8:40Speaker 2: men relationships. Because we spoke about how GOL relationships are
- 8:43Speaker 2: relationships and that's why if there's a falling out, it's
- 8:46Speaker 2: a falling out, and men just like don't have actual
- 8:49Speaker 2: relationships because they don't want to give the time and
- 8:51Speaker 2: effort to like have a falling out. So do you
- 8:55Speaker 2: think the reason we don't do that is because it
- 8:57Speaker 2: does break down that barrier and it makes you like
- 9:03Speaker 2: emotionally closer to that person or something. Isn't that like
- 9:07Speaker 2: a way to live?
- 9:07Speaker 1: I'm thinking about it too, because men mostly hang out
- 9:10Speaker 1: when they're drinking or when they're hungover hungover, and a
- 9:14Speaker 1: sense of that emotional connection is blocked with both reasons,
- 9:18Speaker 1: because when you're drunk, you're like, oh, it's talking. Yeah,
- 9:21Speaker 1: when you're hungover, you just don't have the mental capacity
- 9:24Speaker 1: to have those thoughts. So there's a mental block area
- 9:26Speaker 1: and you just need someone there beare just then. And
- 9:30Speaker 1: there are two times men hang out the most, drunk
- 9:33Speaker 1: or hungover. It's interesting. What about how do you think
- 9:37Speaker 1: you haven't drunk formost two years? Over two years? Two years?
- 9:40Speaker 2: No, it's it's just over two years, it's like bang
- 9:43Speaker 2: on two years.
- 9:44Speaker 1: How do you think that's affected your relationships purely out
- 9:48Speaker 1: of drinking early not drinking?
- 9:52Speaker 2: Well, I would say that it's affected my relationships in
- 9:55Speaker 2: a way that I don't actually have any same. It's
- 10:01Speaker 2: weird ey, I've gained Oh no, Harry, I've gained Harry
- 10:07Speaker 2: losing greens.
- 10:09Speaker 1: We gained him together.
- 10:11Speaker 2: He lives in Melbourne though it doesn't help, And then
- 10:14Speaker 2: I have also gained justin.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Is he real.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Is he real is the imaginary? Here's the thing with
- 10:22Speaker 2: Justin is I quite like him? We get along very well,
- 10:26Speaker 2: but like in terms of hanging out one on one,
- 10:31Speaker 2: like Justin and I only activity, like purely activity, Like
- 10:37Speaker 2: I wouldn't not want to invite him into my house
- 10:40Speaker 2: to just like hang out for a bit longer. But
- 10:43Speaker 2: there is something stopping me. It's interesting, and I know
- 10:46Speaker 2: for a fact he wouldn't feel comfortable to invite, like
- 10:50Speaker 2: he would probably think it's embarrassing.
- 10:51Speaker 1: I don't.
- 10:52Speaker 2: I can't speak for him, but I feel as though
- 10:53Speaker 2: he would think it's embarrassing to ask me to just
- 10:55Speaker 2: come and hang out in his house.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Going back to my childhood, every kid had sleepovers, right, yeah.
- 11:01Speaker 1: I always remember having sleepovers, and when they were at
- 11:04Speaker 1: my house, there came at point in time where I
- 11:06Speaker 1: was like, get the fuck out of my house.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah yeah. And I feel like if I've had
- 11:14Speaker 1: a party before when we're like twenty and there was
- 11:16Speaker 1: a point in the night where I was like, everyone
- 11:17Speaker 1: get the fuck out of my house.
- 11:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I I that's funny. I remember that. I remember
- 11:22Speaker 2: that party, and I remember being like, I don't think
- 11:24Speaker 2: I drank that night.
- 11:25Speaker 1: No, you left early.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I left early and my girlfriend didn't want to
- 11:29Speaker 2: leave anything, and I was like, well I'm leaving. I
- 11:31Speaker 2: remember just leaving and everyone was maggott and I was like, yeah,
- 11:34Speaker 2: this is like if I stay here, I'm going to drink.
- 11:36Speaker 1: And I said I wouldn't.
- 11:38Speaker 2: But you know it's weird, isn't it.
- 11:40Speaker 1: It's weird. It's weird the effects of alcohol too, because
- 11:42Speaker 1: we didn't used to need that. We used to just
- 11:44Speaker 1: hang out and play. It supposed to be feels the activity. Yeah,
- 11:47Speaker 1: it's interesting how it's affect kids.
- 11:49Speaker 2: I'm trying to think. I had a lot of one
- 11:50Speaker 2: on one sleepovers with friends and you would go there
- 11:54Speaker 2: and you were just hanging out innocently as it's maybe
- 12:02Speaker 2: they're like there wasn't It was still I guess surface
- 12:07Speaker 2: level from because like from a young age, I can't
- 12:10Speaker 2: speak for women, but from a young age, I'm I'm
- 12:13Speaker 2: very sure like young girl relationships become quite emotional, I
- 12:19Speaker 2: think from a young age, and like boys like, what's.
- 12:22Speaker 1: The opposite of emotional? That's what we got.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Yeah, what is the opposite of emotion? Because we just
- 12:28Speaker 2: like talk shit is nonchalant, the opposite of emotion.
- 12:33Speaker 1: I don't know what the opposite is. Look it up.
- 12:34Speaker 2: I might quickly ask chachipt what the opposite of emotion is,
- 12:37Speaker 2: so it'd be a cool thing to know what is.
- 12:40Speaker 2: There's no single official opposite of emotion, but depending on
- 12:43Speaker 2: the context, it could be rationality slash logic old detachment. Yeah,
- 12:48Speaker 2: that's a good one, so stoicism slash attachment, I think.
- 12:51Speaker 2: And indifference is another good word, feeling indifferent towards something
- 12:55Speaker 2: or detached.
- 12:56Speaker 1: Yeah, men are detached. Yeah, we are very detached.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Interesting fuck, interesting conversation. Okay, what have you seen girl
- 13:06Speaker 2: friendships do really well that boyfriendships don't. Oh my god,
- 13:10Speaker 2: this is they treat it more like a significant other
- 13:14Speaker 2: versus guys who treat it differently. That's just what we
- 13:17Speaker 2: we just spoke about it at for like ten minutes.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Yeah, differently is the word to put it, because also
- 13:22Speaker 1: no one really knows how their male friendship groups are.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Yeah, like, guys treat the two of them differently. Sorry
- 13:28Speaker 2: I should say, yeah, I think that's what it said,
- 13:29Speaker 2: is like, yeah, guys treat a friendship as a friendship
- 13:33Speaker 2: and then a relationship as a like a significant other.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I would even put the liner's acquaintances, I wouldn't
- 13:40Speaker 1: even call it a friendship most of them, I would
- 13:42Speaker 1: have to agree, do you think it is? But it's not.
- 13:44Speaker 1: It's hard.
- 13:44Speaker 2: It's like you could loosely throw the word friend around
- 13:47Speaker 2: anything to be completely honest, Like, but I guess it's
- 13:51Speaker 2: what your definition of a friend is. Like, I wouldn't
- 13:54Speaker 2: be unhappy or I wouldn't judge if someone would to
- 13:56Speaker 2: say they had because like using the word friendship makes
- 13:58Speaker 2: you feel less lonely.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I get a sense, like.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Imagine if someone goes like, how do you go socially
- 14:04Speaker 2: and you're like, I'm acquainted with a lot of people. Yeah,
- 14:06Speaker 2: other than that, I'm alone, and I'd be like, I
- 14:10Speaker 2: be thinking, like I should think about this more positive.
- 14:14Speaker 1: I actually had a little bit of a realization this
- 14:16Speaker 1: weekend was it was the first time I wanted to
- 14:19Speaker 1: We've had like a pretty big year in the sense
- 14:21Speaker 1: of grinding the pod.
- 14:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Yeah, And I had a little itch where I wanted
- 14:25Speaker 1: to celebrate not necessarily get drunk, but I could have
- 14:27Speaker 1: a beer or two or something like that. It's been
- 14:28Speaker 1: almost a year since I drank, and I'm not only
- 14:30Speaker 1: sort of reason for not drinking. It's just because you
- 14:32Speaker 1: see it in my life that much you have. I
- 14:34Speaker 1: had a bit of an inkling to go for a
- 14:35Speaker 1: bee of be mates, message a couple of them, and
- 14:38Speaker 1: I only had like two or three I could message
- 14:41Speaker 1: and I was like, no, they're all busy, and I
- 14:42Speaker 1: was like, fuck, I don't have any mates.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Yeah. Like, if you think about it back when we
- 14:49Speaker 2: were younger, yeah, there was just always so many options.
- 14:53Speaker 2: There's people you just grow so far apart from that,
- 14:55Speaker 2: you're like, I didn't want to have a bet with them,
- 14:58Speaker 2: you don't want to have a beer with them.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Okay, what have you seen girl friendships do really well
- 15:02Speaker 1: that Guy friendships don't actually sharing meaningful moments where they
- 15:06Speaker 1: need support slash help.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, shit, guys won't bring that up.
- 15:14Speaker 1: No, they don't talk about the highs the lows. They
- 15:16Speaker 1: talk about the mundane, the meddle. Yeah, they talk about nothing.
- 15:21Speaker 2: Like I think you could probably script nine of he
- 15:26Speaker 2: could male friendship conversations in all honesty, whereas with a
- 15:32Speaker 2: two women in a friendship you could maybe one percent
- 15:35Speaker 2: of the time scripted, which is like a fucking pretty
- 15:38Speaker 2: crazy thing to think about, which is it's also like
- 15:40Speaker 2: I don't want to say the word unique. It's like
- 15:42Speaker 2: a special thing, a positive thing.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Yeah. And I think the three male friendships I've maintained,
- 15:49Speaker 1: I've been able to break that middle level and talk
- 15:53Speaker 1: about something that's troubling us, whether that be breakups, something
- 15:58Speaker 1: going wrong in our families, and it's you and two
- 16:00Speaker 1: other people, and have been able to maintain those relationships
- 16:04Speaker 1: because of that, and all the other ones I never
- 16:05Speaker 1: had those conversations with and now they're gone.
- 16:07Speaker 2: Yeah, And you know what's funny is like it's one step.
- 16:11Speaker 2: So we are more like we can talk about stuff
- 16:16Speaker 2: that's challenging us or we're struggling with but when we're
- 16:20Speaker 2: having a very happy, happy moment and we want to
- 16:23Speaker 2: share the happiness, yeah, we don't. We don't really do that.
- 16:27Speaker 3: No.
- 16:27Speaker 2: It's like, you know, you could ask maybe someone just
- 16:33Speaker 2: like got a new job or something like a guy
- 16:35Speaker 2: friend isn't going to come and be like, oh I
- 16:36Speaker 2: just got this new job and like share good news.
- 16:42Speaker 1: And we don't share good news. No, we don't.
- 16:44Speaker 2: I Like, I'm sick of instead of feeling sorry for ourselves,
- 16:47Speaker 2: we should start talking about how good it would be
- 16:48Speaker 2: to share good news, right.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I think the first step to getting better
- 16:53Speaker 1: or changing the norm is to talk about it.
- 16:56Speaker 2: Yeah and ah, what's something good that's happened to you lately?
- 17:00Speaker 1: Oh shit, what is something good? Okay? Actually, I've been
- 17:06Speaker 1: feeling better after being sick after BALI my health for real. Yeah,
- 17:11Speaker 1: I'm happy for you and she's coming back. I'm like,
- 17:15Speaker 1: let's go, what about you?
- 17:17Speaker 2: I have been feeling good since my celiac diagnosis.
- 17:22Speaker 1: That's good.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Same thing Tommy wise. Yeah, no, yeah, I've been feeling
- 17:31Speaker 2: Yeah after that, I've been eaten. Just like strict cilia
- 17:33Speaker 2: can feel good.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Where do I go from here?
- 17:37Speaker 2: The moment's been and the moment is allowed to go.
- 17:41Speaker 2: We're allowed to let the moment come and go.
- 17:43Speaker 1: Yeah, what have you seen?
- 17:47Speaker 2: Girlfriendships do really well that boyfriendships don't into great partners
- 17:51Speaker 2: into the friendship group.
- 17:53Speaker 1: Oh shit, I'm bad at that. See, men don't do that.
- 17:58Speaker 2: Reason being is we see a partner as a partner
- 18:01Speaker 2: like a significant other, and we see a friend as
- 18:04Speaker 2: a friend, so like surface level friend.
- 18:07Speaker 1: That's how we see it.
- 18:08Speaker 2: Even though we like, you know, I want to say
- 18:10Speaker 2: we have good friendships and stuff, but like it's been said,
- 18:13Speaker 2: women see both things as a relationship and that's why
- 18:18Speaker 2: they like want to share that connection. They in a
- 18:24Speaker 2: great way. They integrated all way better.
- 18:26Speaker 1: And thinking about it too, when we were like fucking
- 18:28Speaker 1: eighteen nineteen and anyone who had a partner in our
- 18:32Speaker 1: group if they wanted to bring them to a dinner, but.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Toxic as it's just for the boys. We like, we're
- 18:38Speaker 2: toxic as.
- 18:39Speaker 1: About it, and then we serogate them from the group
- 18:41Speaker 1: and make their partner feel bad left out, like an.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Yeah, and like you're making your friend feel like shit
- 18:47Speaker 2: because they want to bring their girlfriend and everyone's like, no, no,
- 18:50Speaker 2: this is for the boys. Saturdays for the boys. And
- 18:53Speaker 2: then as the friend who has the girlfriend, you think,
- 18:59Speaker 2: like you even think about it this way, Like let's
- 19:00Speaker 2: say you're single at one point, another friend just wanted
- 19:03Speaker 2: to bring a girlfriend and maybe you you don't have
- 19:05Speaker 2: an opinion on it. You're like, yeah, whatever, I'm in different,
- 19:07Speaker 2: like bring her, of course I want to meet her.
- 19:08Speaker 2: But then all the other boys are saying no, so
- 19:10Speaker 2: you're kind of like, yeah, yeah, nah, nah, don't bring
- 19:13Speaker 2: boys and stuff.
- 19:13Speaker 1: I have a really good one. Where is it?
- 19:16Speaker 2: Okay?
- 19:17Speaker 1: What what have you seen girl friendships do? Really well,
- 19:19Speaker 1: the guy friendships don't telling your friends when they are
- 19:22Speaker 1: wrong out of line instead of just yes, manning or
- 19:25Speaker 1: observantly or quietly observing.
- 19:28Speaker 2: That's the issue. Yeah, I have one that says girl
- 19:31Speaker 2: friendships hold one another accountable.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Yes they do.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Men do not hold each other accountable.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Men in accountability isn't a thing.
- 19:40Speaker 2: It's not in the vocab.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Yeah, fucking hell in that frontal lobe developer never develops.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Like we spoke about last week, how we think. I
- 19:49Speaker 2: think it was in a page. It's actually in Patreon
- 19:51Speaker 2: that we did. He's a green flag, but so he's
- 19:56Speaker 2: someone said he's a green flag but his friends aren't.
- 20:00Speaker 2: And we were talking about how in hindsight, like thinking back,
- 20:06Speaker 2: it's like a shitty thing to feel and admit, but
- 20:09Speaker 2: at the same time as like hopefully we've grown. Like
- 20:12Speaker 2: I would say that our friendship group back in the
- 20:15Speaker 2: day as a group was pretty red flag. I think
- 20:20Speaker 2: one on one, each one actually was alright, some maybe not,
- 20:23Speaker 2: I don't know, you don't know. Like again, it was
- 20:25Speaker 2: all pretty serviceful. So you don't actually know the in
- 20:27Speaker 2: neds of someone that you were friends with quote unquote
- 20:29Speaker 2: best friends with, but the ins literally, but um, what
- 20:41Speaker 2: was I talking about? Oh? No, So like I think
- 20:45Speaker 2: like as a there is friends I can think of that.
- 20:48Speaker 2: I do think one on one they would be, but
- 20:51Speaker 2: then in the group they're not. And I do think
- 20:53Speaker 2: that makes us red flags that we would let ourselves
- 20:56Speaker 2: be part of a group like that. And so I
- 21:00Speaker 2: don't know, it's fucking it's tough. How do we get
- 21:04Speaker 2: out here? Like saying people need to hold each other accountable.
- 21:06Speaker 1: I've definitely gotten better in a sense of the problem
- 21:09Speaker 1: is how men view women, and it's these little slurs
- 21:14Speaker 1: or they're going on a date and what they want
- 21:16Speaker 1: out of the day, or they're just saying these little
- 21:18Speaker 1: things that will add up, and it's how they view
- 21:21Speaker 1: women or what they get out of it. Let their alone,
- 21:23Speaker 1: that be sex or how they're treating them or something
- 21:25Speaker 1: like that. Initially, even though it's completely wrong, men think,
- 21:28Speaker 1: oh it's not that, but dad, I'm not going to
- 21:29Speaker 1: say anything. But that's where you should say, hey, yeah,
- 21:33Speaker 1: you shouldn't just be looking to have sex with her.
- 21:35Speaker 1: She probably really likes you. You should go into that,
- 21:37Speaker 1: or tell her to be honest and open from the
- 21:39Speaker 1: start that that's what you want, or don't lead her on.
- 21:42Speaker 1: And I've been getting better at saying that because some
- 21:43Speaker 1: friends still do it here and then I say, and
- 21:45Speaker 1: I still do it in a joking way. I don't
- 21:47Speaker 1: have the balls to say it outright. I'm scared of confrontation,
- 21:50Speaker 1: but they do it in a joking way where I'm
- 21:52Speaker 1: like kind of protecting myself, which is wrong.
- 21:57Speaker 2: To be fair, the first step is to understand that
- 21:59Speaker 2: that's wrong, and then hopefully in the next situation, like
- 22:02Speaker 2: you know, instead of being like fuck, like you know,
- 22:06Speaker 2: what's this convernation going to do to me, have the confrontation. Okay,
- 22:09Speaker 2: On the topic of confrontation, Beth, actually great news to everyone.
- 22:15Speaker 2: My girlfriend quit a job.
- 22:16Speaker 1: I saw that. Though we're going to talk about congratulations, I've.
- 22:19Speaker 2: Been having been before, say what I've been trying, exciting,
- 22:22Speaker 2: long time coming. But so she quit a job the
- 22:25Speaker 2: other day. The night before she was talking about it
- 22:27Speaker 2: with like me, her mum and sister, are dad and
- 22:30Speaker 2: so we were all very on board, supported her. And
- 22:33Speaker 2: then the next day she said she's doing it. She
- 22:34Speaker 2: calls me, She's like, I did it. I was like, fuck, yes.
- 22:37Speaker 2: So I went and bought her to buy chocolate and
- 22:40Speaker 2: some flowers, just like from IgA, like cheap, the thought,
- 22:44Speaker 2: and I just wanted to give her a look congrats,
- 22:46Speaker 2: you know, and the flowers from IgA and the d
- 22:49Speaker 2: buy chocolate. I had to go to the chemist for right,
- 22:52Speaker 2: And I'm in the chemist and there's a fella in
- 22:55Speaker 2: the working in the chemist and I have flowers and
- 22:58Speaker 2: he hears me buying to buy chocolate and you guys
- 23:00Speaker 2: or someone's in trouble, and you know what was insane
- 23:03Speaker 2: in my head. I didn't say anything. What I wanted
- 23:06Speaker 2: to say was like, nah, I just love my girlfriend.
- 23:08Speaker 2: But at the same time, I was thinking, like I've
- 23:11Speaker 2: seen videos of men talking about that happening to them,
- 23:14Speaker 2: but it's never actually happened to me, like I was.
- 23:20Speaker 2: I'm like so mad at myself for not just being
- 23:22Speaker 2: like you know, oh no, like just like fuck, it
- 23:25Speaker 2: make the situation awkward. Like if I could go back,
- 23:28Speaker 2: I would make the situation awkward and be like, actually, no,
- 23:30Speaker 2: I'd just love my girlfriend. It's a celebration and just
- 23:33Speaker 2: like straight face, it's like, I'm so upset that I
- 23:36Speaker 2: didn't do that. But yeah, I couldn't believe he said it.
- 23:40Speaker 2: I was like, I didn't say ye for example, like
- 23:43Speaker 2: I didn't I just didn't say anything. But again, I
- 23:46Speaker 2: wish I like confronted him.
- 23:47Speaker 1: Was just that, and that's what does do because they
- 23:50Speaker 1: don't know how to deal with confrontation, or because there's
- 23:54Speaker 1: that in quotes friendship there you feel like you can't
- 23:56Speaker 1: say anything. You know, I wasn't your friend, m dude,
- 24:00Speaker 1: what's he gonna do?
- 24:01Speaker 2: Fucking hit me? No, and like seriously, it's fucking I
- 24:05Speaker 2: don't know. I was like, Wow, I can't believe that
- 24:07Speaker 2: just happened.
- 24:08Speaker 1: It was kind of like you said the other day,
- 24:09Speaker 1: that embarrassment is under explored emotions. Yeah, four men, I
- 24:13Speaker 1: think so was confrontation. There's been yeah, probably right, plenty
- 24:17Speaker 1: of times where Cassie, my girlfriend's a really good at
- 24:19Speaker 1: confrontation and it makes me terribly uncomfortable. But I do
- 24:24Speaker 1: think sometimes yeah, there's not a time in a place,
- 24:27Speaker 1: so they just be the bigger person. But there's definitely
- 24:29Speaker 1: a time and a place, so it's hard.
- 24:32Speaker 2: It's like there's certain situations where you're right, it's like, yes,
- 24:35Speaker 2: confrontation could be needed, and then there's times where it's
- 24:38Speaker 2: like are we bored?
- 24:43Speaker 1: Okay, dokey, this one I think both genders do. Okay, well,
- 24:48Speaker 1: I know they do. What have you seen girlfriendships do
- 24:50Speaker 1: really well? The guy friendships don't talk about how hot
- 24:53Speaker 1: each other's siblings are.
- 24:56Speaker 2: Men do that. Men do that. We can tell you
- 24:59Speaker 2: for nice hand men do that usually on a joking level.
- 25:02Speaker 1: I actually don't.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Maybe until recently. Okay, I don't know anyone that's gone
- 25:07Speaker 2: for a sister.
- 25:07Speaker 1: Did we?
- 25:08Speaker 2: But I think very recently one of our old friends did.
- 25:11Speaker 1: Did that? Eventually? I have no idea. He told me,
- 25:13Speaker 1: do you know more than me? See I'm on the
- 25:14Speaker 1: group anymore?
- 25:16Speaker 2: Neither over?
- 25:17Speaker 1: Did?
- 25:19Speaker 2: That's a friendship ruiner if it doesn't go well?
- 25:21Speaker 1: Awkward?
- 25:22Speaker 2: Now, what have you seen girl friendships do really well?
- 25:26Speaker 2: The boys don't tell each other we love each other.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Girls do that more often than boys, you think, because
- 25:32Speaker 2: boys don't.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Do that in a friendship. Do you think love you?
- 25:36Speaker 1: And you know how there's such a difference with love
- 25:37Speaker 1: you and I love you? Yeah? If is it the
- 25:39Speaker 1: same equivalent for a friendship versus a relationship? Like you
- 25:43Speaker 1: need to say as a friendship, I love you instead
- 25:45Speaker 1: of love you.
- 25:46Speaker 2: I don't know. You can start with love you orgn thing.
- 25:49Speaker 2: I don't even say to my dad steppingstone. Yeah, say
- 25:53Speaker 2: to my parents only say. The only person I say
- 25:55Speaker 2: it to is I say, and Henry.
- 25:58Speaker 1: If mom and dad got on a big trip, I'll
- 26:00Speaker 1: occasionally slip it out the mum.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Yeah, but yeah, see I only say it to my parents.
- 26:09Speaker 2: And so I said to my parents like maybe once
- 26:13Speaker 2: a year, right, and on your death bed, like it's
- 26:18Speaker 2: crazy to say, so, I reckon, I say, like maybe
- 26:20Speaker 2: once a year, and we just I didn't say a
- 26:23Speaker 2: bunch of growing up and by no means do I.
- 26:25Speaker 2: It's not no sort of sob story. But when it
- 26:28Speaker 2: is said, it's a happy moment for both parties. But
- 26:32Speaker 2: you can also tell it's a little bit of like
- 26:33Speaker 2: an awkward moment because it's like, whoa emotional Yeah.
- 26:37Speaker 1: Even when, like especially, we're thinking about how they were
- 26:40Speaker 1: brought up. Yeah, we're having the conversations now they didn't
- 26:42Speaker 1: have the conversations at all.
- 26:43Speaker 2: Yeah, and they didn't, did they?
- 26:45Speaker 1: Okay, this one's good to rear to. Wait, wait, what
- 26:49Speaker 1: have you seen? Girlfriendships do really well? The guy friendships don't.
- 26:53Speaker 1: Women's friendships are face to face, and men's fresh men's
- 26:56Speaker 1: friendships are shoulder at the shoulder.
- 27:00Speaker 2: Damn That is so true.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Yeah, that is so so true. Fuck.
- 27:07Speaker 2: I read a book called Why Men Don't Listen and
- 27:11Speaker 2: Women Can't Read Maps.
- 27:12Speaker 1: Yeah, and they talk about this.
- 27:14Speaker 2: Look. I don't know how like scientifically proven all of
- 27:18Speaker 2: this is, but apparently apparently it's back. It goes back
- 27:23Speaker 2: to when we were hunter gatherers, men hunters, women gatherers.
- 27:28Speaker 2: The women took care of the children, you know, did
- 27:31Speaker 2: all that thing they did, the gathering. I don't really
- 27:33Speaker 2: know what it entails, but they would I guess, have
- 27:36Speaker 2: conversations face to face. And then men would be constantly
- 27:40Speaker 2: like tunnel vision hunting all day, come back tired, look
- 27:45Speaker 2: at the fire, and then they'd sit next to each
- 27:48Speaker 2: other looking at a fire, shouldered shoulder. They'd never have
- 27:50Speaker 2: a conversation face.
- 27:51Speaker 1: On Well, the equivalent now is gaming. Yeah, like the
- 27:54Speaker 1: fire is now an Xbox or a TV. Yeah.
- 27:56Speaker 2: Yeah, like you go to your fucking TV.
- 27:59Speaker 1: Footy.
- 27:59Speaker 2: Yeah that's what we're watching on there. Yeah, we just
- 28:04Speaker 2: it's a huge day. I need to sit down and
- 28:06Speaker 2: watch this TV. Yeah crazy, Okay, what have you what
- 28:15Speaker 2: have you seen? Girl friendships do really well that boyfriendships don't.
- 28:18Speaker 2: This is a simple one brunch, not brunch. Not enough
- 28:22Speaker 2: guys do brunch. We guys don't go to brunch.
- 28:26Speaker 1: We don't. Are we missing out on something there?
- 28:30Speaker 2: What do you?
- 28:30Speaker 1: What do you order it? A brunch?
- 28:32Speaker 2: It's like, it's breakfast food at lunch. Brunch. I'm a
- 28:34Speaker 2: mimosa and oh you see what it is? Is what
- 28:37Speaker 2: it is. It's breakfast food at lunch but a little
- 28:40Speaker 2: bit of alcohol.
- 28:40Speaker 1: Yeah. I feel like brunches are kind of like aesthetic.
- 28:47Speaker 2: Yeah, they're They're kind of instagrammable.
- 28:49Speaker 1: They're very appealing, aren't they.
- 28:51Speaker 2: I'm a jealous of brunches. We can go to one.
- 28:54Speaker 1: We can go to one. Alrighty, guys. Unfortunately I've got
- 28:58Speaker 1: like five left and these conversations are really good. So
- 29:01Speaker 1: what we're going to do is do the rest of
- 29:03Speaker 1: them on Patreon, sorry, guys. And on Patreon it's five
- 29:07Speaker 1: dollars a month. You get next episode every single week,
- 29:10Speaker 1: every single What's with My Words Today? Every single week,
- 29:12Speaker 1: and then you also get the book Club Early Dilemmas
- 29:14Speaker 1: extra and now you get ig.
- 29:16Speaker 2: Extra and it's going to be in the link of
- 29:18Speaker 2: the description. But also if you go to patreon dot
- 29:22Speaker 2: com Forward Slash Relatable sixty nine that is our link,
- 29:26Speaker 2: that's our url.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Yeah, thank you. I wish if someone looked it up
- 29:31Speaker 1: that way, I could give them a discount. Oh, that
- 29:33Speaker 1: would be so sick.
- 29:34Speaker 2: Actually, you get a bit of a discount. Yeah, as
- 29:37Speaker 2: long as you if you make sure you don't do
- 29:38Speaker 2: it through an Apple app. Yeah, an Apple pay, Apple pay,
- 29:41Speaker 2: yeah it make sure you don't do through Apple pay.
- 29:42Speaker 1: Yeah. They get enough about money.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Okay. That is, if you've been here for just a
- 29:54Speaker 2: matter of weeks, then you'll know about my car update.
- 29:57Speaker 2: If you've been here for this, this is your first time.
- 29:59Speaker 2: Very quickly, a couple of weeks ago, my car made
- 30:03Speaker 2: a crazy noise and for reference, I drive ahy, and
- 30:06Speaker 2: I gets it's very very small.
- 30:07Speaker 1: Let me make the noise.
- 30:09Speaker 2: That looks pretty close. And so I said to Odi,
- 30:13Speaker 2: I brought the video in the noise, and I said, look,
- 30:14Speaker 2: it's it's become a need, not a want.
- 30:16Speaker 1: I need a new car.
- 30:17Speaker 2: Now. Last week I in I both brought some cars,
- 30:20Speaker 2: all right, and then we asked you guys to tell
- 30:23Speaker 2: me if we should go down the sensible route or
- 30:25Speaker 2: the fun route. And I haven't even looked at the comments.
- 30:29Speaker 1: Now everyone's commenting, which Baddie one. There's none yet.
- 30:32Speaker 2: Ah, fair enough.
- 30:33Speaker 1: Everyone just says you need a new car.
- 30:35Speaker 2: I don't think people care what I get. Yeah, So
- 30:38Speaker 2: now I'm going to give a quick one more quick
- 30:41Speaker 2: backstory on the Jimney situation. Okay, because the situation has
- 30:45Speaker 2: grown developed, slightly, development in the situation since I've known.
- 30:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I haven't.
- 30:51Speaker 2: Told you there's a development in the Jimney situation.
- 30:52Speaker 1: There's no way this guy came back.
- 30:54Speaker 2: So I was going to go get a Suzuki Jimney Sierra,
- 30:59Speaker 2: very cool little car. Now it said it was thirteen thousand,
- 31:03Speaker 2: five hundred, one hundred and thirty seven thousand k's. I
- 31:05Speaker 2: go down to Woongong an hour and a half drive.
- 31:07Speaker 2: I get in the car. It says it has two
- 31:08Speaker 2: hundred thousand kilometers. So I was like, that's a crazy difference.
- 31:12Speaker 2: Now to get this car off the market, I paid
- 31:15Speaker 2: a two hundred dollars deposit and it's a refundable after
- 31:18Speaker 2: I've taken for a test drive, and if I don't
- 31:19Speaker 2: want the car, I get the money back.
- 31:21Speaker 1: Sweet.
- 31:22Speaker 2: So I was like, let's go.
- 31:23Speaker 1: Now.
- 31:23Speaker 2: I went down and then I tried to negotiate him down.
- 31:25Speaker 2: He says no, no, no. He spent a couple of
- 31:27Speaker 2: days texting me with things and I was like, no, good, like,
- 31:29Speaker 2: don't worry about it. So that was two weeks ago,
- 31:34Speaker 2: like just over two weeks ago. Haven't got my positive back. Really.
- 31:38Speaker 2: I've texted him twice being like.
- 31:41Speaker 1: Hey, hey, should I just name him?
- 31:43Speaker 2: Hey Pete, Like, I hope you're having that good week.
- 31:46Speaker 2: I hope you had a good week. It'd be like
- 31:47Speaker 2: super nice. I hope a good weekend and stuff. Just
- 31:50Speaker 2: checking on how that refund for like the deposit is,
- 31:54Speaker 2: here's my details. If you've missed him, just airing me.
- 31:58Speaker 2: He's notty and reading them. So I still haven't got
- 32:03Speaker 2: it back, and he still hasn't replied. I've sent two messages,
- 32:05Speaker 2: was like two like two k yeah, yeah, yeah, I'd
- 32:09Speaker 2: be fucked. If it was too care I'd be so mad.
- 32:10Speaker 2: I'd be driving down there and knocking on his door.
- 32:13Speaker 2: But it's two on the buck. I was like, what
- 32:14Speaker 2: am I going?
- 32:14Speaker 1: I was this ceedy guy. He was so nice. He
- 32:19Speaker 1: got me two weeks. Maybe I don't want to give
- 32:23Speaker 1: him the benefit of that's funny though. I know he
- 32:25Speaker 1: stole my money. Yeah, he stole my mom. I have
- 32:29Speaker 1: faith in humanity? Really, man, cards yellows are weasels?
- 32:34Speaker 2: Oh wait, I couldn't like he hasn't even read it. Bro,
- 32:40Speaker 2: Oh my god, let me see what.
- 32:41Speaker 1: We're call him right now? Should we call him? You
- 32:43Speaker 1: want to connect?
- 32:44Speaker 2: Yeah, let's call him.
- 32:48Speaker 1: You did to connect. Let's call this guy pctice confrontation.
- 32:52Speaker 2: Man, this is not the conversation I wanted. Let's see
- 32:57Speaker 2: if I've got.
- 33:00Speaker 1: Back you off, if your struggling, Okay, what are my nervous.
- 33:04Speaker 2: Dude, I'm stressing. Here's the thing is, like, I shouldn't
- 33:07Speaker 2: be stressing because he has my money.
- 33:13Speaker 1: Okay, Let's call this guy. He's not going to pick
- 33:17Speaker 1: up a leave him a message, though. Leave him a
- 33:19Speaker 1: message has.
- 33:35Speaker 4: Been forwarded to voicemail.
- 33:37Speaker 2: The person you're trying to reach is not available at
- 33:39Speaker 2: the time. Please record your message.
- 33:42Speaker 4: When you have finished recording, you may hang up.
- 33:45Speaker 2: Hi, Pete, it's Jake. I came and test drove that
- 33:49Speaker 2: Suzuki Jimney Sierra a couple of weeks back, and you
- 33:53Speaker 2: said i'd get my deposit back if I didn't want
- 33:55Speaker 2: it after the test drive. I was just double checking
- 33:58Speaker 2: on that. Give a call back me. That's fussing. You don't.
- 34:06Speaker 2: He punted me in a voil.
- 34:08Speaker 1: That's crazy, bro, that's you gotta leave a bad e
- 34:11Speaker 1: mess with the wrong podcaster? Is you got leave?
- 34:15Speaker 2: It was on car sales too, so there's a chance
- 34:17Speaker 2: maybe car sales can help me out here. But it's
- 34:20Speaker 2: trying to buy coming bothered.
- 34:20Speaker 1: You also know the dealership because you went there.
- 34:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I know where it is. Go on Google, so fuck,
- 34:27Speaker 2: I don't want to. I'm opening on service so he
- 34:29Speaker 2: doesn't come through. Oh here, I'll put myself on no
- 34:32Speaker 2: Bluetooth and I'll actually leave my phone on if he
- 34:38Speaker 2: calls me back. I'm not connected to it, but that's
- 34:39Speaker 2: all right. It'll be funny anyway. Imagine if he calls
- 34:42Speaker 2: me back. Okay, So that's that's the current update. And
- 34:45Speaker 2: then now my I don't want to like talk about
- 34:51Speaker 2: me for too long on this. But the other day
- 34:54Speaker 2: my dad actually offered so here, my stepmum's selling her car.
- 34:59Speaker 2: She's a nice vehicle. Here's the thing. It's it's honestly,
- 35:02Speaker 2: it's worth about fifty thousand dollars. So he said to me,
- 35:05Speaker 2: he said, look, we we want to keep it in
- 35:06Speaker 2: the family because it is a really nice car. So
- 35:09Speaker 2: if you just you can give me how much you
- 35:11Speaker 2: can give me, and then you can pay it off
- 35:14Speaker 2: over a couple of years. Like however, it's like it's
- 35:17Speaker 2: it's really up to you. And so I was like, wow,
- 35:19Speaker 2: that's generous, Like I wouldn't be able to afford a
- 35:20Speaker 2: car like that otherwise. But I was thinking more about it, right,
- 35:25Speaker 2: and I don't want to do it. You don't want
- 35:27Speaker 2: to do it? No, Oh I don't want. I don't
- 35:31Speaker 2: want to.
- 35:33Speaker 1: I'm the only reason I.
- 35:36Speaker 2: Would be able to do it is because of my dad,
- 35:40Speaker 2: which is there's no, there's not. It doesn't mean it's
- 35:42Speaker 2: a bad reason to take advantage of it. And like
- 35:44Speaker 2: I wouldn't be taking advantage at all. I would be
- 35:46Speaker 2: paying it off, just like anyone would be paying off
- 35:48Speaker 2: a car.
- 35:49Speaker 1: But I would prefer.
- 35:53Speaker 2: To spend the money that I can spend on a
- 35:57Speaker 2: car and own it out right and then not oh,
- 36:00Speaker 2: like fucking you know, thirty thousand dollars extra.
- 36:04Speaker 1: Yeah, so I'm going to say no to.
- 36:06Speaker 2: Him, Okay, Yeah, I know that's it. It's like it's
- 36:09Speaker 2: like it's I again, I realized, like how privilege of
- 36:12Speaker 2: a situation it is. But I think that I would
- 36:16Speaker 2: prefer my parents to just like sell it get the money,
- 36:18Speaker 2: and then.
- 36:19Speaker 1: I guess that's admirable. Yeah kind of.
- 36:21Speaker 2: I'm doing it for me too as well. I don't
- 36:23Speaker 2: want to be in debt, did you, because it's also
- 36:25Speaker 2: a depreciating item.
- 36:26Speaker 1: You booked inspection on another car that's still coming through.
- 36:29Speaker 2: That's the third update waiting for that. So if it's good,
- 36:32Speaker 2: I'm going to buy that car.
- 36:32Speaker 5: Okay, So Zuoki Vatara, Yeah we went sensible what year
- 36:36Speaker 5: twenty sixteen.
- 36:37Speaker 1: That's pretty good.
- 36:38Speaker 2: Cruise control, Yeah, Bluetooth. I think it doesn't have Apple
- 36:42Speaker 2: Car Play, but I can get it.
- 36:44Speaker 1: It doesn't have Apple carplation.
- 36:45Speaker 2: I don't know. The best thing about it though, to
- 36:47Speaker 2: me is the cruise control. I haven't had cruise control for.
- 36:49Speaker 1: Like six years. Oh really? Yeah, because when you said that,
- 36:52Speaker 1: I was about to say, welcome to twenty three.
- 36:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I haven't had krius control for six
- 36:55Speaker 2: years because I had a really old car.
- 36:57Speaker 1: Then I got the gets that doesn't have it? My
- 37:00Speaker 1: what gets you? Because my name that much? Not on
- 37:04Speaker 1: the freeway, not even I don't even use that much.
- 37:06Speaker 2: Oh my god, I love, oh my god. The best
- 37:09Speaker 2: thing ever invented.
- 37:10Speaker 1: Manuel. Yes, well, there's some good updates, Matt.
- 37:13Speaker 2: So I think next week I should actually, if if
- 37:15Speaker 2: all goes well, I should actually be driving that vehicle.
- 37:18Speaker 2: Very good.
- 37:25Speaker 1: Already, baddies, Welcome back to Week five of Things that
- 37:30Speaker 1: Aren't Just for Boys. Week five. All right, I want
- 37:34Speaker 1: to start off starting off strong.
- 37:37Speaker 2: Ordering for the table. Okay, I actually have a story
- 37:44Speaker 2: about this, Odie. I I can't speak for you, but
- 37:48Speaker 2: I do think we've spoken about this before. I'm not
- 37:51Speaker 2: a keen orderer, you know how. It's kind of like
- 37:55Speaker 2: a thing where people say, you know, the man should
- 37:57Speaker 2: order the food, the man should do this, Nor am I.
- 37:59Speaker 2: I'm not a big I'm not keen on doing the ordering. Also,
- 38:02Speaker 2: I'm very quick to choose what I want. But one
- 38:05Speaker 2: thing I really really liked that Beth does number one
- 38:08Speaker 2: is will often do the ordering, but she goes straight
- 38:13Speaker 2: to all the restaurant's instagrams when we get there and
- 38:16Speaker 2: looks at all the photos of the food that's on
- 38:18Speaker 2: the menu. He knows what to get and then I
- 38:23Speaker 2: have always kind of like given a ship for it.
- 38:26Speaker 1: But I'm just kind of good, you know why. I
- 38:30Speaker 1: don't like ordering pronunciations, Yeah, what's with a what's with
- 38:37Speaker 1: a restaurant? And like, well, wait, where are you going?
- 38:41Speaker 2: That has a hard pronunciations.
- 38:43Speaker 1: Even I went to Toddy's on the weekend. There's a
- 38:45Speaker 1: few passes I can't pronounce a couple other things. I'm like,
- 38:48Speaker 1: I'm like, this is just embarrassing. I don't want to
- 38:51Speaker 1: do that.
- 38:51Speaker 2: Guy, But you're not even going to get a past
- 38:53Speaker 2: her I did.
- 38:54Speaker 1: On the weekend. What type I can't pronounce?
- 38:56Speaker 2: It?
- 38:57Speaker 1: Was it lamb rago? No, I tried something different. Oh,
- 39:00Speaker 1: Cassie was forcing me.
- 39:02Speaker 2: Was it was in it?
- 39:04Speaker 1: She had passed it to my head. It wasn't spaghetti
- 39:07Speaker 1: as well? Not maybe it was. Maybe it was that one.
- 39:13Speaker 1: Maybe it was that wasn't good? It was actually pretty decent.
- 39:16Speaker 1: I was. I was full after the bread, though, you.
- 39:19Speaker 2: Go there for the bread. Okay.
- 39:24Speaker 1: Number two?
- 39:26Speaker 2: Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
- 39:27Speaker 1: I think I got it?
- 39:28Speaker 2: Energy drinks, bang on. Most energy drinks are made for men.
- 39:34Speaker 2: They're all dark marcho, fake ingredients. I don't even know
- 39:40Speaker 2: ninety of things on those cans.
- 39:42Speaker 1: Yeah, it's pretty wild e. That's why Marissa created perfect
- 39:45Speaker 1: healthy and energy drinks. She didn't even have us guys
- 39:47Speaker 1: in mind when making it.
- 39:49Speaker 2: Yeah, and they actually slap. Did you know that they
- 39:51Speaker 2: are powered by Marcher and the ingredients are all natural?
- 39:54Speaker 2: This apple raspberry best very nice. I'd say I'm more
- 39:58Speaker 2: of a juicy peach guy at the moment myself. Where
- 40:00Speaker 2: do you pick yours up from?
- 40:01Speaker 1: Oddie?
- 40:02Speaker 4: You know I'm a Coles guy. That's not even a
- 40:04Speaker 4: question me too, all our baddies.
- 40:12Speaker 1: Up next is dilemmas. If you want to get your
- 40:14Speaker 1: dilemma read the link is in a description or linking
- 40:17Speaker 1: bio on Instagram. Scroll at the bottom. There it is.
- 40:20Speaker 1: And as we mentioned before, Patreon gets their exclusive dilemmas,
- 40:24Speaker 1: so there's more of a chance they'll get read over there.
- 40:27Speaker 1: My one, I'm trying to describe how I feel about it.
- 40:32Speaker 1: It's a good feeling and I think it's an interesting perspective. Okay,
- 40:38Speaker 1: because you and I will have a simple solution, but
- 40:42Speaker 1: I think it's an interesting perspective.
- 40:43Speaker 2: Okay, okay, in.
- 40:46Speaker 1: Capitals, it's not a relationship dilemma.
- 40:49Speaker 2: Oo.
- 40:50Speaker 1: We'd love your thoughts. I'm a twenty five year old
- 40:53Speaker 1: Indian Australian girl. I work as a doctor in Perth
- 40:57Speaker 1: and I'm single. I recently moved out of my parents'
- 41:00Speaker 1: house in July and I have never been more grateful
- 41:03Speaker 1: for my freedom in brackets. Don't get me wrong, love them,
- 41:06Speaker 1: but I can do things like bring guys who are
- 41:08Speaker 1: like over to my place because culturally it ain't okay
- 41:12Speaker 1: whilst living with my kind of strict Indian parents.
- 41:15Speaker 2: Ah okay.
- 41:18Speaker 1: I moved and started renting my brother and his partner's
- 41:21Speaker 1: house with a friend whilst they moved to Melbourne for
- 41:23Speaker 1: six months. They are coming back in January and they
- 41:27Speaker 1: offered me to continue renting off them. I think it's
- 41:30Speaker 1: kind of weird because I want the option of being
- 41:31Speaker 1: able to bring guys home. They said they wouldn't really
- 41:34Speaker 1: care as long as boundaries aren't crossed. Do you think
- 41:38Speaker 1: it would be weird from a male's perspective if I
- 41:40Speaker 1: told a guy I'm seeing and want to bring him
- 41:42Speaker 1: back to my place that I rent off my brother
- 41:44Speaker 1: and his partner. Would it be weirder than my other option,
- 41:47Speaker 1: which is renting with a different friend and for other people.
- 41:51Speaker 1: Thank you so much, I really appreciate it. Your advice
- 41:53Speaker 1: and podcast has really changed my perspective with life and
- 41:55Speaker 1: relationships and helped me through so much shit. Jake and
- 41:58Speaker 1: Audi are absolute legends.
- 42:00Speaker 2: Thank you very much, very much. I think if you
- 42:04Speaker 2: want to stay with your brother and his sister, so no, they.
- 42:08Speaker 1: She's in the house with one of the person renting
- 42:10Speaker 1: off them. They're not in the house, but they're coming back.
- 42:14Speaker 1: Yeah no, but they can keep renting it. Or is
- 42:17Speaker 1: that how I took it as she would be alone
- 42:18Speaker 1: in the house, Well, right.
- 42:20Speaker 2: She's alone in the probably right right now, she's alone
- 42:22Speaker 2: in her brother's house, her brother and his partner, and
- 42:25Speaker 2: they're coming back, and they've said you can stay. And
- 42:29Speaker 2: then she said I assume she said, yeah, what if
- 42:31Speaker 2: I want to bring boys back and stuff? And they
- 42:33Speaker 2: said that makes more sense. They said, well, you know,
- 42:35Speaker 2: it's not as boundaries like we don't care.
- 42:37Speaker 1: You have a life like you know.
- 42:40Speaker 2: And then he says, she's saying, how would you feel
- 42:41Speaker 2: as a guy if I was to say, you know,
- 42:45Speaker 2: I live with my brother, I'd be like, that's so normal. Yeah,
- 42:51Speaker 2: I'd be like, what that's so normal to live with?
- 42:55Speaker 2: It wouldn't matter who you lived with.
- 42:57Speaker 1: It's funny the mental back and forth you play, though.
- 42:59Speaker 2: Yeah, look I can see the men like I would
- 43:03Speaker 2: probably also have those questions. I think I would ask
- 43:07Speaker 2: myself the same thing, But it depends as well, like
- 43:11Speaker 2: how often are you bringing new men home? Because I
- 43:18Speaker 2: think if I was to own a house and my
- 43:20Speaker 2: sister was living there and she was single, I wouldn't
- 43:23Speaker 2: care if every now and then she brought someone back.
- 43:25Speaker 2: But if she was bringing like a bunch, that's when
- 43:29Speaker 2: I would most likely set a boundary and be like,
- 43:31Speaker 2: can we limit.
- 43:32Speaker 1: It a bit?
- 43:32Speaker 2: Actually, don't know how I would feel with you. I
- 43:34Speaker 2: think that's how I would.
- 43:35Speaker 1: Feel, And it sounds like she is very responsible and
- 43:39Speaker 1: respective of the dude, She's not gonna be bringing back
- 43:43Speaker 1: one a new guy every single week. No, I want
- 43:45Speaker 1: to make you feel great about your situation too. The alternative,
- 43:48Speaker 1: like me back in the day, I'm living with my parents,
- 43:51Speaker 1: I'm a loser, Like come back to my parents' house.
- 43:55Speaker 1: Whereas like a brother's cool. Yeah, it's like you help
- 43:58Speaker 1: them with his mortgage.
- 43:59Speaker 2: Probably it's like that one I would say when if
- 44:03Speaker 2: you said to someone you're living with your parents, that
- 44:06Speaker 2: a lot of people understand it because of the cost
- 44:08Speaker 2: of living crisis. So they'd say, oh, I understand that,
- 44:10Speaker 2: but they would think little, we'd go back to a
- 44:12Speaker 2: parent's house like they would think that maybe, But as
- 44:16Speaker 2: soon as it's anyone but your parents, people just think,
- 44:20Speaker 2: like she just lives out at home.
- 44:22Speaker 1: I also think you don't have to justify it or
- 44:24Speaker 1: explain your situation. And if it comes up like he's
- 44:28Speaker 1: the guy you bring over, sees your brother, he's like,
- 44:29Speaker 1: oh that's my brother.
- 44:30Speaker 2: Legit you bring him back?
- 44:32Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 44:32Speaker 2: Maybe as soon as you walking me like, oh, by
- 44:34Speaker 2: the way, I rent my room off my brother. Yeah,
- 44:35Speaker 2: like or like my brother owns his house and I
- 44:37Speaker 2: just pay to live here. Yeah, like you pay to
- 44:40Speaker 2: live there, it's also yours. Yeah, exactly. You have to
- 44:42Speaker 2: think about it like that. It's like a lease, you know,
- 44:44Speaker 2: it's it's also your house.
- 44:46Speaker 1: What if she's bringing home heaps or does just for fun,
- 44:48Speaker 1: but I still think she's in her right.
- 44:51Speaker 2: Here's what I would say. I would say, as the brother,
- 44:55Speaker 2: this is just me personally. I don't know how he
- 44:57Speaker 2: feels about it. But if she, I would say, look,
- 45:00Speaker 2: if you want to do that, maybe could you fifty
- 45:02Speaker 2: to fifty? Like you go to their place sometimes they
- 45:05Speaker 2: come here sometimes the car. I would be, yeah, like
- 45:10Speaker 2: you the car, Maybe try and make it so they
- 45:12Speaker 2: come in late and you're quiet and just there's actually
- 45:17Speaker 2: also I think you need to talk to your brother.
- 45:19Speaker 2: And like you said, as long as there's no boundaries crossed,
- 45:22Speaker 2: but what needs to happen is the boundaries need to
- 45:24Speaker 2: be very clear true. So it's like you can't just
- 45:29Speaker 2: assume the boundaries. The boundaries need to be fucking stated.
- 45:33Speaker 1: I guess too. It's always going to be that slight
- 45:36Speaker 1: awkwardness between sister she brought home. Wonder when you were
- 45:41Speaker 1: living together, were you there? Yeah, Yeah, it's this awkward
- 45:45Speaker 1: that like sisters having sex. I didn't, I didn't hear anything.
- 45:50Speaker 2: I would have left if I heard.
- 45:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that's also the dynamic that's weird.
- 45:57Speaker 2: It is a weird dynamic. But at the same time,
- 45:59Speaker 2: it's just like I understand that this is what that's
- 46:02Speaker 2: gonna happen, you know, Yeah, but it hurts you, it doesn't.
- 46:06Speaker 2: It's just like a weird thing for both parties. Like
- 46:11Speaker 2: when I started bringing Beth over because like I was
- 46:15Speaker 2: single for a while while living with Joanna and my
- 46:17Speaker 2: older sister, and then when I started bringing Beth over,
- 46:21Speaker 2: same thing. But then once it's kind of obviously declared
- 46:23Speaker 2: that it's like, no, Beth and I are we're boyfriend
- 46:26Speaker 2: and girlfriend. It becomes a much more normal thing.
- 46:29Speaker 1: Very true.
- 46:30Speaker 2: Yeah, so let me try and think Joanna started bringing
- 46:34Speaker 2: new men because where we lived it would be very
- 46:37Speaker 2: difficult to hide it as well. She started bringing new men. Nah,
- 46:43Speaker 2: but I wouldn't give a fuck. We won't know why,
- 46:46Speaker 2: because I would just like it would be the funniest
- 46:49Speaker 2: thing to me to bump into them, And it would
- 46:51Speaker 2: genuinely be the funniest thing to bump into them. I
- 46:53Speaker 2: think it would be.
- 46:54Speaker 5: And we sort of knew this dude too, sort of, Yeah,
- 46:57Speaker 5: he was suspect in the end, he was to suspect
- 47:02Speaker 5: that guy, And so it was like so funny to
- 47:04Speaker 5: hear all the stories and then like hear about you bumping.
- 47:08Speaker 1: Into him at the gym or something, and then be
- 47:10Speaker 1: being able to.
- 47:10Speaker 2: Tell you what he does, like how he treats women,
- 47:14Speaker 2: and you're like, oh, what the fuck?
- 47:16Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, so I think you're completely fine and also
- 47:21Speaker 1: sure twenty five year old doctor, must be must be broken,
- 47:26Speaker 1: must be easy to put you're a doctor twenty five
- 47:30Speaker 1: on the scale of careers at twenty five, Like, when
- 47:33Speaker 1: I think of doctors. I think of fifty year olds.
- 47:35Speaker 1: We're twenty five.
- 47:37Speaker 2: We're nothing. Yeah, Jesus, very cool, all right, my diama.
- 47:43Speaker 2: My ex and I broke up two years ago. I
- 47:45Speaker 2: was very unhappy at the end of the relationship. We
- 47:48Speaker 2: weren't communicating well anymore and kept a lot of things
- 47:50Speaker 2: in which most of the time ended up in a
- 47:53Speaker 2: big argument because one of us was fed up because
- 47:56Speaker 2: of this, I was honestly relieved when we broke up,
- 47:58Speaker 2: even though I was sad, I knew it was better
- 48:00Speaker 2: that way for both of us. We haven't seen each
- 48:02Speaker 2: other since we broke up. We went to the same college,
- 48:05Speaker 2: but my ex hasn't showed up to the classes we shared,
- 48:08Speaker 2: not even to our graduation. We have been texting on
- 48:11Speaker 2: and off and live very close to each other, so
- 48:13Speaker 2: I see him out sometimes. I've been doing very well
- 48:16Speaker 2: these past two years until I recently saw an Instagram
- 48:19Speaker 2: post of him and a girl who I assume is
- 48:22Speaker 2: his new girlfriend or a girl.
- 48:24Speaker 1: He is dating.
- 48:25Speaker 2: It felt like we were breaking up all over again,
- 48:27Speaker 2: and the feeling hasn't changed. I don't really know what
- 48:30Speaker 2: to do about this. I assume that he has a
- 48:32Speaker 2: new girlfriend, but.
- 48:32Speaker 1: I'm not sure.
- 48:33Speaker 2: I don't want to text him because I don't want
- 48:35Speaker 2: to disturb his peace, but I really do miss him.
- 48:38Speaker 2: He was my first relationship and we were together for
- 48:40Speaker 2: a long time. Is it normal to feel this way?
- 48:42Speaker 2: And should I do something about it or should I
- 48:44Speaker 2: just leave it be? Oh, two years ago you broke up.
- 48:49Speaker 2: Oh okay, and seeing him in front of him with
- 48:51Speaker 2: a new girl has brought it back to Just like
- 48:53Speaker 2: square one.
- 48:54Speaker 1: First love is always hard to get over, no matter what, Yeah,
- 48:59Speaker 1: I feel like, even if it's not the best relationship,
- 49:02Speaker 1: it always just holds the weirdest little piece of your heart,
- 49:05Speaker 1: no matter what it's like the first time you've experienced love.
- 49:07Speaker 2: Fuck yeah, dude.
- 49:08Speaker 1: And just because he's got a new girl, it kind
- 49:10Speaker 1: of resurface those emotions. And because you haven't got a
- 49:13Speaker 1: new boyfriend, it's kind of like, I don't know how
- 49:16Speaker 1: to feel. I think you obviously know the answer is
- 49:18Speaker 1: don't reach out, Like what do you want out of that?
- 49:20Speaker 2: Be?
- 49:20Speaker 1: Like, hey, is this your girlfriend?
- 49:23Speaker 2: Like, in my opinion, you've had two years. The only
- 49:26Speaker 2: reason you're now thinking of real like you've spent two
- 49:28Speaker 2: years doing what quote you said? Very well? Right, I
- 49:32Speaker 2: dare say you've maybe thought of reaching out a couple times,
- 49:35Speaker 2: but then you've thought, no, it's better that I don't.
- 49:37Speaker 2: But now you know that he has someone else. That's
- 49:40Speaker 2: when you're actually considering it. So, in my opinion, all
- 49:45Speaker 2: things considered, you should not message you.
- 49:49Speaker 1: I think so too. It's a responsible thing to do.
- 49:52Speaker 1: And I don't know.
- 49:53Speaker 2: I always like to think a.
- 49:54Speaker 1: Few steps ahead, like what do you want out of
- 49:56Speaker 1: messaging him?
- 49:56Speaker 2: Him?
- 49:57Speaker 1: You're not gonna get anything out.
- 49:58Speaker 2: Of it, And he asked yourself what you want?
- 50:00Speaker 1: Yea, what do you actually want? And you'd be like,
- 50:02Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 50:02Speaker 2: If he drops everything and says it's get back together,
- 50:04Speaker 2: is that what you want? Probably not? Probably not, probably
- 50:08Speaker 2: not at all.
- 50:08Speaker 1: And I think you know that. I guess the best
- 50:10Speaker 1: thing to do is go back a couple of steps
- 50:12Speaker 1: in your healing journey and be like, what did I
- 50:14Speaker 1: do last time to help with this? Yeah? And it's
- 50:18Speaker 1: just accepting that maybe you're not fully healed, which is
- 50:20Speaker 1: hard to accept because it's been three years, but also
- 50:22Speaker 1: well human, we will go through healing at different stages
- 50:25Speaker 1: and it's like anything, like you could have been healed
- 50:27Speaker 1: for a year, but this has resurfaced. The emotions, so
- 50:29Speaker 1: you need another month to get over it valid as
- 50:32Speaker 1: simple as that.
- 50:32Speaker 2: That's valid.
- 50:34Speaker 1: It's like fucking when people like relapse or anything like that,
- 50:36Speaker 1: it doesn't mean all the two years prior was fucking pointless.
- 50:39Speaker 2: Yeah, but you have just gone back a few steps.
- 50:40Speaker 1: Yeah, and now we've got to back get back to
- 50:42Speaker 1: the word prior to him getting a new girl.
- 50:44Speaker 2: Think of this like a relapse, but don't judge yourself
- 50:47Speaker 2: very hard on it, like, because obviously you aren't relapsing
- 50:51Speaker 2: on that drugs, your arch or anything like that. But
- 50:53Speaker 2: I think if you can kind of think of it
- 50:54Speaker 2: in that way and then yeah, you go through the
- 50:56Speaker 2: healing process again.
- 50:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I think you got this too. And it's just
- 50:59Speaker 1: like it's just a little bit of a stab in
- 51:02Speaker 1: that special place in your heart because there's always going
- 51:04Speaker 1: to be there.
- 51:04Speaker 2: Yeah, because for two years you've both been moving on slowly,
- 51:09Speaker 2: but then the thought of actually moving on, Like maybe
- 51:14Speaker 2: the thing that hurts is the fact that he is ready,
- 51:18Speaker 2: Like there's a good chance you actually don't want to
- 51:20Speaker 2: be with him, right, you do miss him, obviously, but
- 51:22Speaker 2: there's a good chance you don't want to be with him.
- 51:23Speaker 2: And what hurts is the fact that he is ready
- 51:25Speaker 2: before you're ready, Like, maybe you're not ready yet even
- 51:28Speaker 2: though it's been two years. So like what he said,
- 51:31Speaker 2: just ask yourself what you want out of messaging him.
- 51:33Speaker 1: Yeah. I also think it's kind of like an instinctual
- 51:36Speaker 1: thing that everyone feels in a sense of the first
- 51:38Speaker 1: person you have sex with, the first person you love,
- 51:41Speaker 1: Like everything you go through together is so special in
- 51:45Speaker 1: a sense, and like I don't think it means anything,
- 51:48Speaker 1: but it's always going to be there.
- 51:49Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's kind of instinctual. So he can't help it. Yeah,
- 51:52Speaker 2: so you're only human, But start healing again.
- 51:54Speaker 1: You got it all right?
- 52:01Speaker 2: Badies. So if you're new here, this is the part
- 52:04Speaker 2: of the episode where we read comments from the last
- 52:07Speaker 2: episode or did I read a comment each or two each?
- 52:09Speaker 2: But I have an update. I have a text message
- 52:12Speaker 2: from Peter who has not given me back by two
- 52:15Speaker 2: hundred dollars yet. He said he texted me, So I
- 52:19Speaker 2: texted him on Tuesday last week. That was the last
- 52:22Speaker 2: time I messaged Jim. Hi, Peter, I hope you're will.
- 52:24Speaker 2: Just wanted to check on my on the status of
- 52:26Speaker 2: my deposit refund. Here are my details again, cheers Jake,
- 52:29Speaker 2: And then there's from then to now, I call him
- 52:31Speaker 2: leave that message that were left? He just he just
- 52:34Speaker 2: texted me.
- 52:35Speaker 1: Oh shit.
- 52:36Speaker 2: He actually initially unsent a message, sleigh mate. I sent
- 52:40Speaker 2: to Phil and sent it to again. Just now.
- 52:43Speaker 1: He is just old, mate, I am on it.
- 52:46Speaker 2: Oh so like he's acting annoyed.
- 52:48Speaker 1: Their finance person is old.
- 52:49Speaker 2: Yeah, why is he texted me like he's annoyed? It's
- 52:52Speaker 2: two hundred bucks?
- 52:53Speaker 1: What's it called? Oh, ask a pay or whatever it is? Fuck,
- 52:57Speaker 1: it goes through immediately these days.
- 52:58Speaker 2: What's he working with? Like?
- 52:59Speaker 1: Fucking?
- 53:00Speaker 2: I just don't understand why he's acting annoyed. Why isn't
- 53:02Speaker 2: he saying, oh shit, so sorry, mate, Senator, Like he's
- 53:06Speaker 2: saying to me the way he said that, the way
- 53:08Speaker 2: I'm reading that, the way he texted it is like,
- 53:10Speaker 2: so let's say asking you guys. Mate. He's saying it
- 53:12Speaker 2: like he's told me three times. Mate, I sent it
- 53:15Speaker 2: to Phil. I just sent it again. He's old. Just
- 53:19Speaker 2: he's old, mate, that's how he's saying it.
- 53:21Speaker 1: You should say, you should be like, he's got twenty
- 53:23Speaker 1: four hours.
- 53:27Speaker 2: I know to kill him in kindness, so appreciate it.
- 53:30Speaker 2: Thank you, fucking It's like you know who Phil is? Yeah?
- 53:34Speaker 2: What the fuck?
- 53:35Speaker 1: Alrighty, So I have Spotify comments of last week's episode.
- 53:42Speaker 1: First comment is I remember this name is rad He
- 53:44Speaker 1: She's commented before perfect timing. My flight is delayed stuck
- 53:48Speaker 1: in Switzerland. But at least I have this OO wasn't
- 53:52Speaker 1: delayed too long?
- 53:54Speaker 4: All right.
- 53:55Speaker 2: I have a comment from two weeks ago on YouTube
- 54:00Speaker 2: from Factual lens. Wrap the car, Wrap the car. They're saying,
- 54:06Speaker 2: keep the gets and wrap it.
- 54:08Speaker 1: We've always wanted to do it. We could keep it.
- 54:11Speaker 1: We could keep it and then like, but then you're
- 54:13Speaker 1: gonna like not get two K back.
- 54:15Speaker 2: I suppose I could true, or we could.
- 54:18Speaker 1: Wrap it and then sell it like a year later,
- 54:20Speaker 1: six months later when we move comment wrap the car
- 54:23Speaker 1: and if we get enough with yes, because they will
- 54:27Speaker 1: sales say that I've wanted to wrap it before. I
- 54:29Speaker 1: know so far to be fair, so I, yeah, it's
- 54:32Speaker 1: only a small car. Won't cost that much. It cost
- 54:33Speaker 1: like seven.
- 54:34Speaker 2: Sevenndred I don't even know if to cost that much. Yeah,
- 54:36Speaker 2: it won't be much. No brain made text.
- 54:38Speaker 1: Right off, and I've got one more, Diana said every
- 54:41Speaker 1: time a new episode is out, automatically makes my day.
- 54:47Speaker 2: How good?
- 54:47Speaker 1: Thank you, Diana.
- 54:48Speaker 2: All Right, last one. This is from a Dilemma's episode.
- 54:50Speaker 2: We did the first one last week. Now, I would
- 54:53Speaker 2: like to preface on the intro of that Dilemmas episode.
- 54:55Speaker 2: I messed up. Instead of calling you guys the baddies,
- 54:58Speaker 2: I accidentally called you the babies. Oh yea, right now,
- 55:01Speaker 2: Odie gave me ship. The reason they called everyone the
- 55:03Speaker 2: babies is because I had just listened to Shits and Gigs,
- 55:04Speaker 2: and they call their listeners to babies. Someone comments, just
- 55:07Speaker 2: subscribe because you listen to SNG, hashtag s and g
- 55:09Speaker 2: cult baby fuck you. You're welcome to subscriber. I got
- 55:13Speaker 2: a subscriber. I accidentally messing up.
- 55:14Speaker 1: You mentioned Shits and Gigs all the time we had
- 55:16Speaker 1: them on our podcast, and we fell in love. We
- 55:18Speaker 1: were already in love with them. Yeah, we avid lovers
- 55:21Speaker 1: of them.
- 55:22Speaker 4: Haven't mentioned for a while, apparently because we just got
- 55:24Speaker 4: a new subscriber the we love who hadn't James.
- 55:27Speaker 1: Alrighty, it is now time for the baddie sign off.
- 55:30Speaker 1: If you want to get called by us, the link
- 55:33Speaker 1: will beat in the description. Today we are calling Rosie. Hello, Rosie,
- 55:40Speaker 1: it's jaking out from the Rolatas podcasts.
- 55:42Speaker 2: How's it going good? Thanks? How are you?

- 56:07Speaker 2: Yeah. We love and prepared Baddy, we do.
- 56:11Speaker 6: Oh my god.
- 56:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 56:14Speaker 6: I just have.
- 56:16Speaker 7: A quote that i've good bye, and it's be grateful,
- 56:22Speaker 7: be grateful for all of the closed doors details and
- 56:25Speaker 7: roadblocks that prevent you from the past and places not
- 56:28Speaker 7: meant to you and lead you to something better.
- 56:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 56:32Speaker 1: That's insightful too.
- 56:34Speaker 5: I think.
- 56:36Speaker 6: From my personal experiences and I think that it is
- 56:41Speaker 6: meant to you, will not pass you by, and like, yeah,
- 56:45Speaker 6: it's not meant to you, it will take you somewhere better.
- 56:48Speaker 1: So it's like everything happens for a reason kind of Yeah.
- 56:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I like that way of saying it.
- 56:54Speaker 1: Wells, Yeah you did very well. Thank you very much.
- 56:56Speaker 2: Yes, everyone be like Rosie, be a prepared baddie.
