- 0:22Speaker 3: Good morning, Hayden. Good. I suppose with just a couple
- 0:26Speaker 3: of games to go, this is the really key keeper
- 0:29Speaker 3: lit on it moment.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Definitely for you.
- 0:32Speaker 3: The rest of getting a bit carried away.
- 0:36Speaker 1: We've still got a job to do. Yes, absolutely, still insight.
- 0:40Speaker 1: So the game against the Doggies on Friday, it was
- 0:44Speaker 1: a good win thirty seven, but to the first part
- 0:47Speaker 1: of the game that that first half was a bit dour, Yeah, well,
- 0:53Speaker 1: you know, it wasn't. Yeah I was scoring.
- 0:55Speaker 2: It wasn't overly exciting, was it. Yeah. It was a
- 0:58Speaker 2: tough contest, to be honest. They obviously came in with
- 1:01Speaker 2: the game plan to be quite defensive, and they flooded
- 1:04Speaker 2: a number, a lot of numbers back in their defense,
- 1:06Speaker 2: which made it hard for us to score and obviously
- 1:08Speaker 2: hard for them to also score. So I'm sure it
- 1:11Speaker 2: wasn't overly exciting, but we knew that we were playing
- 1:14Speaker 2: the way we wanted to and we were only a
- 1:16Speaker 2: lot of field position, and we knew if we just
- 1:18Speaker 2: kept at it that the damn wall would break, And
- 1:21Speaker 2: it did eventually, and we started kicking some goals, and yeah,
- 1:25Speaker 2: it was I mean, it was a hard fought win,
- 1:27Speaker 2: and they put up a good fight, but it certainly
- 1:29Speaker 2: probably wasn't the most entertaining game.
- 1:31Speaker 3: You had the task of playing on one of the
- 1:34Speaker 3: best and also it would strike me as one of
- 1:36Speaker 3: the nicest players in the whole of the whole of
- 1:39Speaker 3: the league at the bonch they called him and how
- 1:42Speaker 3: was it.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Yeah, it was tough, Yeah, it was funny. My coach
- 1:46Speaker 2: called me during the week. I obviously didn't play the
- 1:48Speaker 2: week before because I was ill. Yeah, so I was
- 1:51Speaker 2: sort of still unsure whether I was going to be
- 1:53Speaker 2: back in the team or if I needed another week.
- 1:55Speaker 2: And he called me. He goes, hey, mate, you're going
- 1:57Speaker 2: to be playing on bump this week, and I was like, oh,
- 1:59Speaker 2: so play yea yeah, yeah, I was just happy I
- 2:02Speaker 2: was in.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Well, they said, they said in the commentary that we
- 2:06Speaker 1: played earlier before. You kept him pretty quiet. They didn't
- 2:08Speaker 1: mention his very much, certainly in the first half.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I felt like I did my job reasonably well.
- 2:14Speaker 2: There's still a few times that he got off the
- 2:16Speaker 2: chain and he's a very very good player and hard
- 2:18Speaker 2: to contain, so but yeah, I had a lot of
- 2:21Speaker 2: support for my teammates and yeah, my coach supported me
- 2:25Speaker 2: was well through the night. Probably early on I probably
- 2:27Speaker 2: wasn't as diligent as I could have been and made
- 2:29Speaker 2: some adjustments. So yeah, he's obviously pretty important for them.
- 2:32Speaker 2: So yeah, I think keeping him quite certainly help.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Holding the Bulldogs to forty one points just shows how
- 2:40Speaker 3: difficult it has become to score against Fremantle.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Yeahred percent. Our team day has been, yeah, a highlight
- 2:47Speaker 2: of our year and it's something that we value very strongly,
- 2:51Speaker 2: and I mean it was. It's funny you say that
- 2:54Speaker 2: because I think during the week our review was probably
- 2:56Speaker 2: one of the stronger reviews we've had on our team
- 2:59Speaker 2: d and some of our contest work. So it goes
- 3:01Speaker 2: to show that maybe the lids off you guys, but
- 3:03Speaker 2: internally there's still a lot that we're trying to work on,
- 3:05Speaker 2: and certainly when not a finished product at the moment,
- 3:09Speaker 2: and although we kept the teams at forty one points.
- 3:12Speaker 2: We're playing a team this week that's you know, can
- 3:15Speaker 2: score a lot of points and are very aggressive with
- 3:17Speaker 2: their offense. So if anything, we need to really tighten
- 3:20Speaker 2: up our team.
- 3:20Speaker 1: The job is not done until the job is done.
- 3:22Speaker 1: And the next job to be done is against Melbourne,
- 3:24Speaker 1: who won four of their last five.
- 3:28Speaker 3: Not bad, not having a bad year, no.
- 3:29Speaker 2: No, And I'm pretty sure they well I don't know
- 3:32Speaker 2: if they've lost it the G, but they're very good
- 3:34Speaker 2: at the MCG. So it's going to be a great
- 3:37Speaker 2: challenge for us. We're really excited about it that. As
- 3:39Speaker 2: I said there, they're a team that can score heavily,
- 3:42Speaker 2: so they're going to test out our team defense and yeah,
- 3:46Speaker 2: we're hoping that, you know, we can also score heavily
- 3:49Speaker 2: against them and make it a really, really good contest.
- 3:52Speaker 2: So then we're looking forward to the challenge.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Justin a long we didn't want to be sort of
- 3:58Speaker 3: drawn into any you know, doesn't surprise me any playing
- 4:02Speaker 3: on the MCG practice run type conversation. But like our teams,
- 4:09Speaker 3: you and the Eagles don't get to play on the
- 4:11Speaker 3: MCG very often, so surely it just is what it
- 4:14Speaker 3: is that it will be nice to have a run
- 4:16Speaker 3: on that ground. Oh yeah, because you're definitely going to
- 4:18Speaker 3: be there for most of September.
- 4:19Speaker 1: You can't win it if you don't play on the G.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I think any any ground that's really good. At
- 4:26Speaker 2: Adelaide Oval, we only play there once or twice a year,
- 4:28Speaker 2: and that would be one of my favorite places to play.
- 4:30Speaker 2: So anytime you get to play on a really good
- 4:32Speaker 2: surface or a really good atmosphere, you always look forward
- 4:36Speaker 2: to those games. We're very lucky that our home grounds
- 4:38Speaker 2: that optics and every second week we have an amazing
- 4:42Speaker 2: experience and the crowds unbelievable. But playing at the G
- 4:44Speaker 2: also is a great atmosphere and yeah, something that I
- 4:48Speaker 2: also thoroughly enjoy being between.
- 4:51Speaker 1: All Right, well I'm playing today.
- 4:53Speaker 3: Yes, hope you get the leg room, fight your way
- 4:59Speaker 3: on board. I hope you don't have to play for
- 5:01Speaker 3: the over Are you going down?
- 5:06Speaker 1: No?
- 5:06Speaker 3: No, that's all right, Melbourne question for a top four finish.
- 5:11Speaker 3: So they are dangerous. It's going to be an interesting game,
- 5:14Speaker 3: and good luck, Thank you very much.
- 5:16Speaker 1: All right, and we'll catch you next week after another win.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Fingers crossed
