- 00:00:06:11 - 00:00:07:23 MAK Hey, everybody, I'm MAK 00:00:07:24 - 00:00:11:07 Courtney And I'm Courtney. Welcome 2MC. 00:00:11:09 - 00:00:14:09 MAK Today we are talking about the joint meeting. 00:00:14:10 - 00:00:15:15 Courtney We are right. 00:00:15:21 - 00:00:18:10 MAK We usually talk about a lot of things Martin County. 00:00:18:13 - 00:00:30:16 Courtney But this time we're talking about the joint meeting because it involves the City of Stuart, Village of Indiantown and the Martin County School Board District. Martin County School District. 00:00:30:18 - 00:00:31:16 MAK In Martin County. 00:00:31:17 - 00:00:32:16 Courtney And Martin. Yeah. 00:00:32:21 - 00:00:35:04 MAK I'm like, I feel like there's some that thing missing. 00:00:35:09 - 00:00:37:24 Courtney Us too. Yes, yes. 00:00:37:27 - 00:00:42:11 MAK All that. So we've got a lot of updates. We should get after it. 00:00:42:12 - 00:00:43:02 Courtney Get to it? 00:00:43:04 - 00:00:45:08 MAK Yeah. So here. My knee crack. 00:00:45:14 - 00:00:46:18 Courtney I did okay. 00:00:46:20 - 00:00:48:00 MAK That was weird. 00:00:48:02 - 00:00:58:21 Courtney Moving on. So, in Port Salerno, they're doing a research project by Bayview and Park Drive. The construction is going to take place starting in November. 00:00:58:24 - 00:01:03:07 MAK And there's a multimodal pathway. I've been very excited. You might be. 00:01:03:09 - 00:01:04:17 Courtney Past this already. 00:01:04:23 - 00:01:08:21 MAK Yeah. It's on Dixie highway and, 00:01:08:23 - 00:01:10:29 Courtney Kind of on Monterey, like over. 00:01:11:02 - 00:01:12:15 MAK Yeah. From like the airport up. 00:01:12:16 - 00:01:12:28 Courtney Yeah. 00:01:13:02 - 00:01:22:13 MAK Through Monterey. Right. And so they took out this tiny little sidewalk doing a multimodal pathway, which is something I believe I learned from you. 00:01:22:16 - 00:01:28:20 Courtney Yes. In the multimodal pathways are to be utilized by bikers, walkers. 00:01:28:23 - 00:01:29:21 MAK Roller skaters. 00:01:29:23 - 00:01:35:15 Courtney Roller skaters, people pushing strollers. 00:01:35:18 - 00:01:37:14 MAK Okay. Right. Yeah. 00:01:37:16 - 00:01:38:13 Courtney Multimodal. 00:01:38:14 - 00:01:41:04 MAK Yeah. Any type of wheels or feet. 00:01:41:07 - 00:01:42:22 Courtney Are allowed on this path. 00:01:42:23 - 00:01:51:14 MAK Anyway, that's a cool project. It was an MPO, project. So it was a long range, planning project that we are now seeing take place. 00:01:51:16 - 00:02:02:20 Courtney Yes. And construction is about 20% complete. Good. There also is a new signal going in at southwest Kanner Highway and southwest Waterside Way. 00:02:02:24 - 00:02:04:18 MAK Do they call that signalized? 00:02:04:20 - 00:02:12:27 Courtney They do. Okay. And that is a 90% complete. So I'll keep your eyes ready for a new signal there. 00:02:13:01 - 00:02:28:16 MAK Yeah. We've talked briefly about this, but the county line bridge replacement project. Construction set to start mid-October, and that's going to be a detour. 00:02:28:18 - 00:02:30:28 Courtney It'll be a long country club lane. 00:02:31:00 - 00:02:37:04 MAK It sounds so enjoyable. I know right. Right. Just take the detour down country club lane. 00:02:37:05 - 00:02:43:29 Courtney Yes. That's going to be a full bridge replacement. And, an updated pedestrian walkway. 00:02:44:04 - 00:02:44:19 MAK Nice. 00:02:44:22 - 00:03:11:14 Courtney Yeah. Kanner Highway. Another thing for Kanner and Locke's Road. They're adding an additional left turn lane to improve congestion. And that's at 60% design. So it's still in the design phase. They haven't started construction yet. Onto the next one is Dixie Highway and Cross Strip Street. They're adding. So they they I believe there's a traffic signal there now, but they're doing some. 00:03:11:16 - 00:03:16:15 MAK Additional rail safety. Right? Yes. And that is down in my. 00:03:16:17 - 00:03:17:10 Courtney In the home. 00:03:17:12 - 00:03:19:19 MAK In my area. Yes. And that's. 00:03:19:21 - 00:03:27:19 Courtney Just that the design right now. So that's 90% complete in design. Then it'll move into construction and all of that stuff. 00:03:27:20 - 00:03:40:04 MAK Yeah. Also they did an update on right on our Environmental Lands Oversight Committee. Almost 3200 acres conserved so far. 00:03:40:08 - 00:03:45:28 Courtney Yeah. And that's through different ways. Land acquired or conservation easements. So that's really awesome. 00:03:45:29 - 00:03:50:06 MAK It's so exciting to see that just continuing to move forward every every month. 00:03:50:08 - 00:04:00:09 Courtney It is. Yeah. And then we also have towards our CERP IRL South estuary restoration project. 00:04:00:10 - 00:04:02:23 MAK Say it again. 00:04:02:25 - 00:04:19:25 Courtney Right. I know it's a lot of, a lot of things there. Yes. But, we had a dredge spoil site donated to the county for environmental purposes such as storage, grading, management of muck soils and sediments. 00:04:19:26 - 00:04:21:11 MAK 00:04:21:14 - 00:04:23:17 Courtney Like I said, that's so flowy. That was so good. 00:04:23:19 - 00:04:26:26 MAK You did. You've been practicing that I think. 00:04:26:28 - 00:04:31:25 Courtney So that's a really nice. It's a 125 acres. They'll be donated for the county to use for that. 00:04:31:26 - 00:04:38:06 MAK So that's out in Western. Right. The stuff about western Martin County. It is. Okay. 00:04:38:07 - 00:04:39:10 Courtney Yes. 00:04:39:12 - 00:04:59:24 MAK Cool. Oh. Seagrass restoration. We just had John male and here. Right. And we talked about a lot of projects, but we didn't make it to the seagrass stuff. We did not. So, in the Indian River lagoon, 100 acres of planned restoration. And that's funded through, DEP grants. Yes. Yeah. 00:04:59:26 - 00:05:05:11 Courtney And then we moved into the growth and development transfer report from Martin County. 00:05:05:13 - 00:05:10:29 MAK I think this is cool. This comes out of our growth management department every quarter, I guess. 00:05:11:03 - 00:05:15:28 Courtney And this just is like a summary of development activity in unincorporated Martin County. 00:05:16:01 - 00:05:47:06 MAK Right. Well, they do include some for, City of Stuart, Sewell's Point, village of Indian Town. But it breaks out, breaks out all the different areas. Right. Also, and I think we've talked about this before that I the project maps, I think on MPO, it takes all of the all of those projects, not just the county related ones, but takes them for all of those municipalities. 00:05:47:06 - 00:05:49:12 MAK And it's all on one map. 00:05:49:15 - 00:05:50:06 Courtney That's awesome. 00:05:50:08 - 00:05:54:10 MAK Yeah. So we'll drop that. Yeah. Drop that link down there. 00:05:54:12 - 00:06:00:04 Courtney And so it shows the growth chart for Martin County in Florida from 1998 to 2025. 00:06:00:05 - 00:06:01:10 MAK I think that's kind of cool. 00:06:01:11 - 00:06:04:11 Courtney Is a .87 percent. 00:06:04:13 - 00:06:06:05 MAK For 20 2020. 00:06:06:06 - 00:06:13:21 Courtney Four and 2025. Wow. Florida overall experienced a 1.58%. 00:06:13:24 - 00:06:14:04 MAK Yeah. 00:06:14:06 - 00:06:17:08 Courtney So when I did those calculations in my head. 00:06:17:11 - 00:06:20:23 MAK Yeah. 00:06:20:26 - 00:06:29:09 MAK I if you watched last podcast, she also did those calculations. Not. 00:06:29:11 - 00:06:32:26 Courtney Yes. And then. 00:06:32:28 - 00:06:55:06 MAK Yeah, it also gives a residential and nonresidential approvals in, in Martin County. They talked about the January through August 2026. The residential units and the nonresidential and I think residential. They do units and then nonresidential like commercial stuff. Square feet. Yeah. Makes sense. Yeah, I think so. 00:06:55:08 - 00:06:58:02 Courtney And then, 00:06:58:04 - 00:06:58:26 MAK That's it for that. 00:06:58:26 - 00:07:08:26 Courtney That's it for that. Then we moved into City of Stuart and their utilities and engineering department kind of went over a couple of projects. They have their annual pavement maintenance program. 00:07:08:28 - 00:07:11:03 MAK Okay. Are they in zone three? 00:07:11:05 - 00:07:11:21 Courtney Yes. 00:07:11:23 - 00:07:12:02 MAK Okay. 00:07:12:03 - 00:07:14:01 Courtney That's they are in zone three. 00:07:14:04 - 00:07:16:16 MAK That's I knew that. 00:07:16:18 - 00:07:30:12 Courtney So it's currently under construction and that is going to be completed October 2026. So coming soon. Yeah. We finished and then, they're in downtown Stuart. The docks? Yes. 00:07:30:14 - 00:07:30:19 MAK Right. 00:07:30:20 - 00:07:34:22 Courtney Downtown area. So those are getting demolished. 00:07:34:24 - 00:07:35:25 MAK I didn't know that. 00:07:35:28 - 00:07:36:26 Courtney Yes. 00:07:36:28 - 00:07:40:01 MAK It's that's it's a demolished. Tons of. 00:07:40:01 - 00:07:40:17 Courtney Useful out. 00:07:40:19 - 00:07:43:20 MAK Of here information from the meeting. But don't worry. 00:07:43:22 - 00:07:52:06 Courtney Because they are creating new docks. It'll have 44 boat slips, which is 26 more than was there prior. 00:07:52:08 - 00:07:54:16 MAK Wow. That's. That's a big project. 00:07:54:17 - 00:07:59:10 Courtney Yeah. It's currently under construction and will be completed in March of 2027. 00:07:59:11 - 00:08:04:13 MAK We should take your boat and and use the new docks. 00:08:04:16 - 00:08:06:14 Courtney We all have to build a raft first. 00:08:06:16 - 00:08:08:25 MAK Okay. 00:08:08:27 - 00:08:16:18 Courtney So. But we could do that. Okay. And then, they're also they also have a project on their lift station. Rehabilitation project? 00:08:16:24 - 00:08:28:10 MAK Okay. We're very exciting stuff. Yes. Also had presentation from Village of Indian Town. Right. They were doing some drainage projects and neighborhood revitalization. 00:08:28:17 - 00:08:43:06 Courtney Yes. They just finished one for Seminole Drive. And, they also have a water project that they're working on which is taking an eight inch water main pipe. 00:08:43:07 - 00:08:44:05 MAK 00:08:44:07 - 00:08:47:00 Courtney And replacing that to a 16 inch. 00:08:47:02 - 00:08:53:19 MAK So it conveys a lot more water and at a higher rate of. 00:08:53:26 - 00:08:54:18 Courtney Yes. 00:08:54:20 - 00:08:56:19 MAK Transfer speed. 00:08:56:21 - 00:08:58:03 Courtney Something beautifully put. 00:08:58:04 - 00:08:59:21 MAK It's a good thing I'm not in utilities. 00:08:59:28 - 00:09:02:21 Courtney And that's going to be from Booker Park to Fernwood Forest. 00:09:02:22 - 00:09:03:05 MAK Nice. 00:09:03:07 - 00:09:03:21 Courtney Yeah. 00:09:03:23 - 00:09:13:09 MAK In their communities. Also. We had quite a bit of discussion about this. The Florida and aquifer wells. 00:09:13:10 - 00:09:14:28 Courtney Not to get confused with Floridian. 00:09:14:28 - 00:09:16:15 MAK Right. Because that's not a thing. 00:09:16:17 - 00:09:16:27 Courtney It's not. 00:09:16:27 - 00:09:33:18 MAK A thing. No. The Florida and aquifer wells and that's well the aquifer is how we get our water right. So in Indian Town they drilled four wells. Right. Yeah. And they're providing, 00:09:33:20 - 00:09:42:04 Courtney That'll be the water source for their new reverse osmosis water treatment plant. That's cool. Which is currently under construction. 00:09:42:07 - 00:09:45:20 MAK Reverse osmosis backwards. 00:09:45:22 - 00:09:52:11 Courtney They also, in line with this project have a are constructing a deep injection. Well. 00:09:52:14 - 00:09:54:13 MAK That's coming up soon. Right. Yeah. We finished. 00:09:54:15 - 00:09:57:01 Courtney Yeah. We finished in December of 2026. 00:09:57:03 - 00:09:59:13 MAK Okay. Happy holidays. 00:09:59:16 - 00:10:01:13 Courtney Happy holidays. You got a deep injection. 00:10:01:13 - 00:10:08:01 MAK Well and they have a new wastewater treatment plant right. Yes. Under construction. Yeah. Okay. 00:10:08:03 - 00:10:10:19 Courtney They got all the things going on. 00:10:10:21 - 00:10:14:14 MAK Well. 00:10:14:16 - 00:10:15:25 Courtney They also. 00:10:15:27 - 00:10:26:01 MAK Oh, yeah. They had development activity, comprehensive plan amendments and annexation reports, I guess. Yeah. Yeah. 00:10:26:03 - 00:10:28:23 Courtney And then the school board. 00:10:28:26 - 00:10:38:07 MAK They always do such cool stuff, I think. I, I just love hearing their reports about, I don't know, children and families in our community, so that's important. Yeah. 00:10:38:09 - 00:10:41:07 Courtney Yeah. Their a rating, so. 00:10:41:07 - 00:10:43:10 MAK That's good. Again. Super good. 00:10:43:12 - 00:10:44:13 Courtney Yay! 00:10:44:16 - 00:11:09:08 MAK School district. And I thought this was, this was a good, I don't know, reminder or just, good facts to know because I didn't realize how many schools we had in the system was 12 elementary schools, five middle nine special centers for charter schools, and two district offices. It's a lot of facilities, right? 00:11:09:09 - 00:11:10:20 Courtney Yeah, that is a lot. 00:11:10:22 - 00:11:12:11 MAK 12 elementary schools. 00:11:12:14 - 00:11:14:12 Courtney Yeah, that's pretty crazy. Yeah. 00:11:14:15 - 00:11:16:19 MAK Yeah. Anyway, thought that was cool. 00:11:16:24 - 00:11:22:06 Courtney And then they gave us an update on the Murray Middle School. Replacement of the buildings, gym site renovation. 00:11:22:10 - 00:11:36:22 MAK Yeah. And I think that started or when I first started thinking about it was during the the tornados right from the hurricane. So, anyway. They're well underway with that. 00:11:36:28 - 00:11:37:19 Courtney Perfect. 00:11:37:21 - 00:11:43:20 MAK Then they talked about the littles, right? The peak? Yes. Pre-K programs? Yes. 00:11:43:22 - 00:11:47:05 Courtney And it looks like they had a 7.4 increase. 00:11:47:08 - 00:12:13:03 MAK In their in the number of students they served. Yeah. Which is amazing. Yeah. It is. I, I just I love, you know, they're so fact based and they talk about the outcomes, the impact and then what their next steps are going to be. So for the pre-K program specifically they had 540 students, 32 classes of them. 76% kindergarten. 00:12:13:03 - 00:12:15:06 MAK Ready. Wow. Yeah. 00:12:15:07 - 00:12:19:03 Courtney Nice for the littles. I love that. 00:12:19:06 - 00:12:20:10 MAK Me too. 00:12:20:13 - 00:12:37:29 Courtney And it looks like they had just kind of like, what their focus is, are going to be for the new school year, which is accelerating the students that need additional support. Strengthening the grade level learning for every child and enrich students. Ready for more? 00:12:38:01 - 00:12:39:23 MAK I love it. Yeah I love it. 00:12:39:26 - 00:12:41:16 Courtney So pretty good meeting. 00:12:41:22 - 00:12:48:02 MAK Yeah, I feel like it was. Where else? 00:12:55:25 - 00:12:56:27 MAK Yeah. All those places. 00:12:56:27 - 00:13:07:11 Courtney All the places. And, Yeah, we'll see you guys next time, right? Don't forget to like, follow, subscribe, comment, share. 00:13:07:14 - 00:13:08:18 MAK Listen. 00:13:08:21 - 00:13:12:10 Courtney Receive notifications. That little button. 00:13:12:12 - 00:13:15:09 MAK I'm sorry. Do that. Is that what happens when you click the button? 00:13:15:13 - 00:13:21:20 Courtney That's what I think happens in my head. But.
