Another baby has been safely surrendered at Madison’s Safe Haven Baby Box — the fourth at that location since January. This brings Alabama’s total to seven surrenders since 2024, with 22 boxes now installed across the state, including a new one in Helena just last July. Designed for parents in crisis, these boxes lock automatically and trigger emergency alerts, offering anonymity and lifelines when all else seems lost. Founded by Monica Kelsey, the program has seen 83 national surrenders since 2017, plus over 200 in-person referrals via its hotline — proving these safe havens are saving lives…
