Wetherholt Out, Prieto In for Cardinals | St. Louis Cardinals News
St. Louis Cardinals’ rising star JJ Wetherholt is sidelined with wrist tendinitis, landing on the ten-day injured list — a major blow after his stellar season with 17 homers and 48 RBIs. To fill his spot, the team calls up infielder César Prieto, who’s been crushing it in Triple-A with a .300 average and power. With the division race all but over, this move gives the Cardinals a chance to evaluate their roster while Wetherholt recovers — and his return could be crucial as they look ahead.
