- 0:02Welcome to Fast Cars, Fast Girls. I'm Abbey Meyer. I'm Sarah Proctor.
- 0:05And we'll be your host this week. We've got all kinds of things to talk about, per usual.
- 0:10It's August, and we are just back to back to back to back. Yeah.
- 0:15To back. Yes. But also, why did we piss off Mother Nature?
- 0:21Oh, my goodness. We probably should start with that being in Indiana,
- 0:25because there have been storms, power outages. flooding, all kinds of issues in Indiana this week.
- 0:35There were tornadoes after I left work today. Like, I missed them by,
- 0:40like, a few minutes, or they were forming and trying to go down.
- 0:44So, yeah, over it. I bet you are. Over it.
- 0:48But, yes, the rain, the stuff.
- 0:51Oh, and I do have to say, the Reese lady's flower shop did not get wet.
- 0:59Oh, good. But I'm glad to hear that was okay.
- 1:02So I'm excited about that too. Well, good. I'm glad to hear that.
- 1:05But yes, if you guys have gotten storm damage, so sorry.
- 1:10Or if you guys feel, donate. Look at all the good places. Red Cross.
- 1:15Look locally. Get all that. Get all that.
- 1:19I was definitely thinking about that because it's just absolutely wild.
- 1:25It was. Yeah, it's been horrible for a lot of people. So awfully sorry to any
- 1:30of you that have been impacted by that, for sure.
- 1:33Yes, a library said that none of their books that they've lost are covered because
- 1:38they were not in a floodplain.
- 1:42So they didn't have to have flood insurance.
- 1:46Oh, that's insane. Gotta love that. Gotta love that.
- 1:51Isn't the definition of a floodplain an area by a body of water that floods?
- 1:57Yep. Like, isn't that, like, the fact that it flooded, doesn't that prove that
- 2:02they are, in fact, in a floodplain?
- 2:05Or it would not have flooded? My goodness.
- 2:08Yeah. I don't know. Insurance companies are crazy.
- 2:11Yeah, they don't care much for logic. Nope.
- 2:15Nope, that's not their jam. That is not their jam. So, all right,
- 2:19well, let's get into Markham.
- 2:21So, crazy start to the weekend. Track wasn't finished. Nope.
- 2:28Sure was not. We talked about it a little bit last week that it might not be done, and it wasn't.
- 2:34They had to move practice from Friday. There was no track activity Friday,
- 2:38which, I mean, IndyCar still got in all of their track time,
- 2:42but it really hosed the Junior Series.
- 2:44Yes. Well, and then there were a ton of people there on Friday expecting to
- 2:49see race cars, and there were not.
- 2:53And from what I heard, there were a lot of things that they could do,
- 3:00wise, booths to go see and stuff. But.
- 3:04When you go hoping to see a race, you need to be seeing a race.
- 3:08Yeah when you go hoping to see cars on track you need you expect the track to
- 3:12be built and i feel like that's not unreasonable and it's not from a brand new race promoter they yeah,
- 3:19i don't they put on multiple races every year they know what it takes they know
- 3:25the effort they know the amount of work they know the amount of food the amount
- 3:28of water the amount of beverages it is not their first rodeo,
- 3:32and so there's no excuse well and,
- 3:36you don't do roger penske dirty ever like once but if you do it again it's like yeah,
- 3:47Would not recommend that. 10 out of 10. I did see Alex Plo going through and
- 3:53signing autographs. So that was cool.
- 3:56I just kind of wish a few more drivers would have gone up there too.
- 4:00But I heard that a lot of drivers were making sure they were signing.
- 4:06That's cool. Good for them. Good for them.
- 4:10Well, I didn't get to see a lot of practicing qualls because I was on vacation this last weekend.
- 4:18But I did watch the race and it was a wild. Chaos. I love it.
- 4:26Anarchy all over the place. Yes. Oh, yes. So the good, the bad, the hairpin.
- 4:34Everybody's like they need to change the hairpin. I kind of like the big crazy hairpin.
- 4:40I mean, I'm here for the anarchy. I just think that they need to have a wider
- 4:45berth on the other side of it.
- 4:47And supposedly that hairpin is actually slower than Long Beach.
- 4:52I listened to Hinch and Rossi.
- 4:55Interesting. Oh, yeah, they did say it's the slowest turn on the whole circuit. So, ah.
- 5:02But it was interesting. It caught people out. But I also liked it because Louis Foster got pulled.
- 5:10Mm-hmm yeah what an unexpected pole sitter by the way did not expect that and kind of i mean,
- 5:21i guess taking the lead and maybe keeping his seat for next show i yeah i feel like that for sure.
- 5:29Kept that so yeah yeah for sure so congratulations to louis foster though unfortunately,
- 5:39he did not finish the race,
- 5:41no no yeah that was wild i was watching that and i was like oh that's the leader and he hit hard,
- 5:51hard oh my goodness yes he did his wrists are good,
- 5:59i hope so too going back to the possible ability of you know power assisted steering,
- 6:07yeah the new car we'll see well and then also mick schumacher man he hit too,
- 6:15yes he was up there and then crashed as well.
- 6:22And then Graham had contact. And then the biggest one was Kirkwood.
- 6:32Oh, yes. Well, and I have to say, the cinematography this weekend was not great by Fox.
- 6:38And I really like what Fox does. But some of the camera eagles this weekend were bad.
- 6:46Kind of boring. Well, but also like all of a sudden, like they were showing
- 6:51like cars going by, but it wasn't like a leader or a story car.
- 6:55And then they had, you know, all that they didn't have what happened.
- 7:00And you just see Kyle Kirkwood's car just like, I mean, you can connect the dots, but still.
- 7:07But yeah, you didn't actually get to witness it. No, that was definitely a little
- 7:11frustrating in the broadcast.
- 7:13Which, yeah, that's not been typical of them.
- 7:19But they, it just, I mean, nobody had their shit together this last weekend is what it felt like.
- 7:25No, and then, yeah, Rojan almost winning a race again. Yeah.
- 7:31Which, don't get me wrong, I love that Erickson won, but I was hoping a little
- 7:36bit that Grosjean was going to pull one out and win.
- 7:40I mean, for as much anarchy as there was in the rings.
- 7:45I wouldn't have minded Grosjean winning because he's usually here for the anarchy,
- 7:49so it would have vibed. Yes.
- 7:51Well, and ever since he walked away from that insane crash, I've always,
- 7:55you know, would like to see him. Yeah.
- 8:00Yeah, I'd like to see him succeed. I agree. I feel the same way.
- 8:03So, well, moving on, we've got Will Power in third place.
- 8:07And Andretti on the podium, and Will was on there. So, yeah, it's exciting.
- 8:14Yeah, and he was making some moves in the last 15 laps of that race.
- 8:17I mean, he was making some moves all race, but...
- 8:21He really worked to get that third place. And then Alex Plo was fourth.
- 8:25He messed up in qualifying.
- 8:28He is human, guys. He is human.
- 8:32He sure is. Well, that's another thing. Markham caught out Alex Plo.
- 8:36So that's kind of awesome.
- 8:40Yeah. And fifth, we had Pato Award.
- 8:44He had a good race. He needed it. And he got a lot of flack because he,
- 8:49last week, he said something that he doesn't do simulators.
- 8:53So he didn't like simulators.
- 8:57Gotcha. He would get a lot of flack for that.
- 9:01Finishing in sixth, we had Christian Lungard. Yes.
- 9:05Yep. Good race for him. Very good race. And then we had Renis Fiquei seventh.
- 9:13Another good race. Another good run. So, and especially those two finished,
- 9:19They kind of had their own little battle because they're both rumored to be
- 9:23going after coveted seats.
- 9:28They are. So they did have their own battle. Yeah, that was good to watch.
- 9:33And then in eighth, we had Scott McLaughlin. Matthias Penske.
- 9:37Yes.
- 9:40Ninth, Graham Rahal. Yeah, RLL was going to be doing awesome.
- 9:44Like, all three of those cars were doing so great. And then Mick crashed. Louie crashed.
- 9:50And then the veteran, Graham, bringing home a top 10.
- 9:57Yep, bringing home a top 10 finish. Mm.
- 10:01Yep. Tenth place, Santino Ferrucci. Hey, that's a Foyt top 10.
- 10:05Yes, it is. Yes, it is. And the Foyt team.
- 10:09Yes, and then coming in, surprisingly, outside of the top ten, Stingray Robb.
- 10:17Yeah. Had a heck of a race. Finishing 11th. Heck of a race. He did have a heck of a race.
- 10:24And he finished ahead of a Penske driver.
- 10:31Yes, he did. A couple of Penske drivers. Two Penske drivers.
- 10:34He finished ahead of, what, two, one Aaron McLaren driver.
- 10:42Yeah, not bad at all.
- 10:45Heck of a drive for Stingray Rob. Coming in 12th was Nolan Siegel.
- 10:49Yep, and that was another good drive for him, too.
- 10:53It was. Yep. And then in 13th, surprising with Joseph Newgarden.
- 11:00Yeah. Yeah. You know, it seems like maybe one Penske car will do well and the
- 11:05other two just haven't done that great. Yeah.
- 11:08But I also, I don't know. It feels to me like Joseph's just there this year.
- 11:16Yeah, I don't know. It's,
- 11:20not been his best season, that's for sure. And I'm surprised.
- 11:23And I know he's super hard on himself, but it's just like...
- 11:28Yeah. Yeah, it's interesting. In 14th, we've got Kiffin Simpson. Yeah.
- 11:35And then in 15th, Dennis Hauger.
- 11:41And 16th, Marcus Armstrong. Which he caused a very interesting yellow and got,
- 11:48penalized for not following directions of the safety car crew.
- 11:53Well, they will do that. One of the IMS photographers had a good angle of his
- 11:59car and the guy doing the stop.
- 12:03Doing the hold sign. It was a very good picture. Oh, that's great.
- 12:08Yes. And then in 17th is David Malukas, which was very unusual for him.
- 12:15And then 18th, Scott Dixon.
- 12:19Speaking of unusual.
- 12:22Alexander Rossi having another dismal race. Oh, he was.
- 12:30Kyle Collette barely finished ahead of him in 19th. Yeah. Another 20th place finish for the 20 car.
- 12:38Oh, I hate to say that. Well, and then like we talked about Kirkwood finishing 21st was not, you know.
- 12:46I believe we both picked him to be, like, in the podium. We both did. We sure did.
- 12:52And when he was out, I thought to myself, oh, serves me right.
- 12:55I said he was going to be on the podium. And Louis Foster, man,
- 12:59he's the one that got away.
- 13:01I mean, he had a three-second gap when he was leading. Oh, yeah,
- 13:05he did. Yes, and then poor Christian Rasmussen had a bad day, and so did Felix.
- 13:12And then Mick was the first one out, Which he was running pretty well, too.
- 13:17So he was actually they were talking about all the rookies doing really well
- 13:22at this track because they were on this like the same playing field as all the other drivers.
- 13:29Nobody had seen it. So, yeah, since it was a brand new track for everybody.
- 13:34I thought it was an entertaining race.
- 13:37Chaos. Yes, people said it was like the first year at Nashville where Marcus
- 13:42Erickson so happened to win. So apparently Marcus Erickson likes the chaotic races.
- 13:50Right. He does well with the chaos. It looked fun. I mean.
- 13:55It did look fun. And I'm excited to watch it next year. Hopefully they have
- 13:58the track built on time and have all the concessions and things sorted out.
- 14:02Yes. And it sounds like there's supposed to be more buildings built around that
- 14:07we're in the process of building. So.
- 14:12Yes. Well, fingers crossed. Fingers crossed.
- 14:18Well, excellent. Well, we are moving right on in to another race.
- 14:24Yes. This weekend. The Freedom 250.
- 14:28The Freedom 250. So America turned 250 this year, and we are having the Freedom
- 14:33250 Grand Prix of Washington, D.C.
- 14:36You guys, some of these car liveries that are going to be running this weekend, chef's kiss.
- 14:43Like, they're cool. They are so cool.
- 14:48They look so good. Like, patriotic, it's, yes.
- 14:54Patriotic AF. Rahal Letterman, Lanigan Racing, one of their cars has the Constitution on it.
- 15:03I love that. That's cool. That's
- 15:05cool. But the only thing I'm kind of sad about, we've had this before.
- 15:13We should have somebody running a car representing all the branches of the military.
- 15:20And we don't have that. I agree.
- 15:22And I feel like that was kind of a mess. Don't get me wrong.
- 15:25I love the Constitution. I love all the patriotic colors.
- 15:28Sure. But we should have an Army car. We should have a Navy car. We should have Marines.
- 15:34Yeah and also coast guard sure we'll throw also,
- 15:38an air force car and i also wish we kind of had one of the gurney eagle cars
- 15:43from like back in the car days but have it with the big eagle that was on the
- 15:47front of it but then you know red right and blue like,
- 15:51yes yes i wish i wish we had that but i the deliveries though are pretty cool
- 15:58so i can't complain but i just kind of wish we could have had cars representing the armed forces,
- 16:05just a little bit a little bit more like connor daly's,
- 16:09air force cars.
- 16:12Those were such good looking cars such good looking libraries all right well
- 16:16it is the inaugural race so,
- 16:19we don't have any past winners we don't have any past records it's all going
- 16:22to be history history in the making for us but also i can say there are pictures
- 16:29they are working on the track now,
- 16:33if we want to you know.
- 16:37Put that. They are painting the streets. They have the flag stand up.
- 16:42Hey, so they're ahead of a Markham, at least.
- 16:46No. Moving in the right direction? Well, it is the streets of Washington,
- 16:49D.C., and it is a 1.7-mile, seven-turn
- 16:53temporary street course that goes counterclockwise in Washington, D.C.
- 16:58And I have the backdrop of all the, you know, really cool landmarks.
- 17:04Yes, which is awesome. I think that the visuals and the camera angles and everything
- 17:09will just be fantastic for this race.
- 17:11Yeah, I think so, too. And the race distance is 147 laps or 250 miles.
- 17:18It was not originally this.
- 17:20They dropped the 250 just a couple weeks ago.
- 17:25That is true. They just lengthened it just a little bit, which I like it.
- 17:30I like it. Keep it concise. Yes, it's going to be long. But like,
- 17:34yeah, it's the 250 grid, the Freedom 250, keep it 250 miles.
- 17:39I like it. I like that symmetry. But here's the thing.
- 17:42They gave out free tickets. So all those people with the free tickets are going
- 17:47to get their money's worth for 250 laps. Yes, they are.
- 17:51Yes, they are. And our drivers will have 150 seconds of total push to pass time,
- 17:57with a maximum time of 15 seconds per activation per usual.
- 18:02Yep. And then the hybrid, they'll get 265 kilojoules per lap of the hybrid energy,
- 18:09the hybrid energy that some people like, some people don't.
- 18:14Yes, it is highly contested.
- 18:18People feel very strongly. Yes, very strongly. Very strongly.
- 18:24The Firestar and Tire allotment is the same as usual for Road and Street courses.
- 18:28Six sets of primaries, five sets of alternates to be used during the event weekend.
- 18:32Teams fielding a rookie may use one additional set of primary tires.
- 18:36Teams must use one set of primary and two sets of alternate tires for at least
- 18:40two laps in the race. Yes, and the IndyCar radio is powered by only Bulls,
- 18:45so you can listen to them. Excellent.
- 18:48And you can, of course, make sure that you get all the action on social media,
- 18:53by following at Freedom250GP or at IndyCar.
- 18:57And, of course, we'll be covering everything, so make sure that you're following
- 19:01us on all of our social media at Fast Cars, Fast Girls. Yes,
- 19:03unfortunately from our couches. Yes, we will not be there in person. We will.
- 19:08So. We'll be doing the best we can.
- 19:11We sure will. Now, it is a two-day event, so it's just Saturday and Sunday, Saturday, August 22nd.
- 19:18From 9.05 to 10.30 a.m. is practice one on FS1, and that's Eastern Time.
- 19:26And then from 1.05 p.m. to 2.30 p.m.
- 19:29Is practice two on FS2.
- 19:32And from 5 to 6.30 p.m. is qualifying, also on FS2.
- 19:37And then Sunday, August 23rd, our warm-up is on FS1 from 9.15 to 9.45 a.m.
- 19:4411.30 is when the Fox pre-race show will be on air.
- 19:481.06 p.m. is driver start your engines and 1.13 is green flag.
- 19:52You know, I kind of like these brunch start time, especially if I'm at home
- 19:57because I can make a nice little breakfast, enjoy, or I can watch it at a brunch place going on too.
- 20:07So it's a fun little. I like it. I like it when I'm out of place also because
- 20:12then the race is over to reasonable time and I can get back home.
- 20:16And Alex Pillow is still leading the championships with four races to go for
- 20:21the fifth time in his IndyCar series career.
- 20:25He's won it back in 2021, 2023, 2024, and 2025.
- 20:32And he has led the point standings after 10 of the 14 races this season.
- 20:38There are still nine drivers that are mathematically eligible for the championship.
- 20:44Alex Filo, Kyle Kirkwood, David Malukas, Christian Lundgaard,
- 20:48Padua Ward, Joseph Newgarden, Scott McLaughlin, and Felix Rosenquist, and Marcus Erickson.
- 20:55Any driver who trails the points leader by 162 points or more following this
- 20:59race will be eliminated from contentions.
- 21:02Yes, and since 2008, the IndyCar Series racing under the NTT IndyCar Series
- 21:08banner, the eventual series champion, has won the 15th race of the season three times.
- 21:14The most recent occurrence was in 2005 with Dan Weldon at Chicagoland Speedway,
- 21:21and the other drivers to win the 15th race of their championship was Sam Hornish Jr.
- 21:26Back in 2002 and Juan Pablo Montoya back in 1999.
- 21:33All right.
- 21:36Key championship point statistic, since 2008, the largest deficit overcome by
- 21:41the eventual champion was 59 points by Dario Franchitti in 2010.
- 21:46Scott Dixon overcame Juan Pablo Montoya's 54-point lead in 2015.
- 21:51The top two drivers in the 2026 NTT IndyCar Series championship standings,
- 21:56Alex Pillow and Kyla Kirkwood, are separated by 133 points.
- 22:01The point differential, the 133 points that separate Pillow and Kirkwood,
- 22:05is the largest point margin since 2008.
- 22:08Before this season, the average lead with four races to go since 2008 was 35.7
- 22:14points. Dang. Which is crazy.
- 22:18That is crazy. Yeah. Yes. That's wild. And the Freedom 250 this weekend will
- 22:24be the first NTT IndyCar Series event on the streets of Washington, D.C.
- 22:29Although they have been close in nearby Baltimore when they ran from 2011 to 2013,
- 22:37the 250 mile race distance makes it the second longest street or temporary circuit
- 22:43race in IndyCar series history.
- 22:47Excellent. It is the sixth Road to Street Circuit to debut on the IndyCar Series calendar since 2021.
- 22:55Chip Ganassi Racing Drivers won three debut races.
- 22:58Marcus Erickson won the inaugural Big Machine Music City Grand Prix on the streets of Nashville in 2021.
- 23:04Alex Flo won the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear when it debuted
- 23:08on its new course in downtown Detroit in 2023 and at the Thermal Club in 2025.
- 23:14Android Global Drivers have won the last two debut events. Kyle Kirkwood won
- 23:18on the streets of Arlington in March, and Marcus Erickson won on the streets
- 23:22of Markham last weekend.
- 23:24The Freedom 250 Grand Prix of Washington, D.C.
- 23:27Is the last of the six temporary street circuits of the 2026 NTT IndyCar Series schedule.
- 23:34Alex Blow won at St. Petersburg on March 1st, Long Beach on April 19th,
- 23:39and Detroit on May 31st. Kirkwood won on the streets of Arlington on March 15,
- 23:44and Erickson won on the streets of Markham on August 16.
- 23:50And then exciting milestones, and this is awesome.
- 23:54Scott Dixon will attempt to make his 372nd consecutive start,
- 23:59extending his record streak.
- 24:02Graham Rahal will attempt to make his 271st consecutive start,
- 24:06the third longest streak in IndyCar series history.
- 24:09Joseph Newgarden will attempt to make his 248th consecutive start,
- 24:13tying Marco Andretti for the fourth longest streak in IndyCar series history.
- 24:18Dixon can also extend his record to 434 career starts with a start on Sunday.
- 24:24And Scott McLaughlin is scheduled to make his 100th IndyCar series start.
- 24:28Wow, that's going to be a big one for Scott.
- 24:31That is. That's exciting. I love him. I love having him in the series.
- 24:34That's going to be really cool.
- 24:36I mean, that would be kind of cool if he won. It would be super cool to win
- 24:41on your 100. Yeah, that would be, yeah.
- 24:45Too bad it's not, too bad. I wonder if it's anybody's 250th start.
- 24:50That'd be crazy. Well, Joseph Newburn's close. He's at 248th. Yeah.
- 24:54It would have been cool if somebody was going for their 250th and they would win their 250th.
- 25:00It really would, yeah. Yeah. It would be great. Yeah.
- 25:03So, I'm, it should be interesting. It should be. I'm curious to see the fanfare.
- 25:10I'm curious to see if the crowd shows up.
- 25:15Yeah. Because they did say back, I think, earlier this summer,
- 25:19that they had over 200,000 people wanting the free tickets. So.
- 25:25Wow. That's awesome.
- 25:29I'm curious to see how it goes.
- 25:33I am, too. I hope it's a good race. I hope so, too. I hope so,
- 25:36too. I know they've promoted this big time, so...
- 25:42We'll see. Yeah. We shall see. So who do you think is going to podium on this one?
- 25:50Well, I don't know that I want to say anybody because I feel like I might be a jinx. Yeah.
- 25:58Yeah. I know, right? Yeah. Okay, let's do Scott Dixon. Okay.
- 26:08Marcus Erickson and Graham Rahal.
- 26:15Okay I'm gonna go Kyle Kirkwood okay cause he's there,
- 26:23I'm going to go with Willpower and then,
- 26:30I'm gonna go Pato I'm gonna go Pato and then the highest American driver,
- 26:40I'll go Kirkwood again with that. If we're gonna...
- 26:45I think that's a good bet. I think Kirkwood's a good bet for the highest American.
- 26:47Who do you think the highest American's gonna go? Graham. Okay.
- 26:52Fair. It was between Kirkwood and Graham.
- 26:58Yeah. Yeah, I'll say Graham. Yes. Now, will Palo get pull?
- 27:07I'm gonna say no. Okay. I'm going to say yes because I'm sure he was picked.
- 27:13I don't think I've ever seen Alex below, like, lose his cool.
- 27:18No. That's true. Unless he, like, does it, like, internally. Privately, right?
- 27:26Unless him losing his cool is just smiling bigger.
- 27:30That's how Alex below loses his cool. He just smiles. Yes.
- 27:35Yeah. He's so nice. He is so nice. God, he is the nicest guy.
- 27:41You can't even dislike him.
- 27:44He's just, and he's so humble. Yes. It makes it, it just makes it impossible to hate him.
- 27:52Well, moving on to the rest of the season and next year.
- 27:58Silly season updates. What do you got for us this week? Well,
- 28:03if you guys listened to F1, Yuki Tsunoda is supposedly rumored to want to come over to IndyCar.
- 28:12Oh, okay. He's actually driving for the racing bulls this weekend at Zandort.
- 28:20So, I don't know. That would be kind of cool. That would be cool.
- 28:23It would be cool. I wonder where he would go. Yeah. I don't know.
- 28:27I mean, I'm always torn because I'm all about, you know, people coming in.
- 28:31But then we have so many people in the ladder series that I want to have seats
- 28:36and so many people that already don't have a seat that I want to have seats.
- 28:39I would say maybe Meyers Schenck.
- 28:41That's true. A pseudo-Ganasi team.
- 28:46Yeah. Unless they get rid of it. We don't know the lions. But yeah.
- 28:50And then I also saw that Mick Schumacher had some money and a new sponsor.
- 28:56So that should help him find something.
- 29:00That should. That should help secure a seat for him for sure. Oh, yeah.
- 29:04Really all I've heard.
- 29:06Well, we don't break the news.
- 29:11We fix it.
- 29:14We're just here. We're just here. enjoying it yeah yeah no we don't break news
- 29:18that's not what we do real reporters real journalists do that that that is not
- 29:24what we are here for we are entertainment news i was sad i couldn't go,
- 29:28tuesday to the state fair or the other day yeah tuesday um,
- 29:33because connor daly and lungard were serving in the dairy,
- 29:40i know i saw that i didn't get home till super late tuesday night and i was
- 29:44so bummed because i absolutely would have gone to see them i i i have not been
- 29:49to the state fair yet it's going to happen,
- 29:53i know i haven't been yet either i need to go this week before i start my new
- 29:55job next week oh but yes i love their grilled cheeses and their milkshakes yeah i'm,
- 30:02gonna have to cheat and eat some gluten for that grilled cheese and i don't
- 30:05even care yeah i'm gonna eat i'm gonna eat gluten the day i go to the state
- 30:07fair it's just it can't be helped oh and.
- 30:11Well, but they do have gluten-free options now, so you just have to find them. That's true.
- 30:18You just have to find them. That is true. So, well, and then we have a little bit of sad news.
- 30:23Oh, yes. Guys, I'm not okay about this.
- 30:29Racer is discontinuing their hard copy of the Racer magazine.
- 30:35Yeah, end of an era. I remember my dad getting it all the time when I was little,
- 30:40and i would look through all the race cars and,
- 30:44you know and then i'd read it later on and we have a ton of them down in the
- 30:48basement but i and yes they'll have their stuff online but it's just yes i like,
- 30:57i like having a book in hand or yeah i like a tangible yes yeah and,
- 31:05that means we're I know.
- 31:07I know. But like, you know, reading my 17 magazine poolside or my Cosmo girl or my Teen Vogue.
- 31:16Oh, Teen Vogue.
- 31:19They were just fun and you looked forward to it. Oh, especially the quizzes. I love the quizzes.
- 31:25The quizzes or the perfume samples.
- 31:30Now, those weren't in, you know, the racer magazines, but. Sure. You know, but just.
- 31:39Yeah. But you know what I mean? Just. Yes. But still, it's, yeah,
- 31:43the nostalgia of just magazines in general. Yes.
- 31:48Or when I was like. Can you imagine if they had perfume samples in Racer?
- 31:51They could. They would probably have like Ralph Lauren or, you know, the clones. Yeah.
- 31:57Yeah. But still. Diesel. Yes. Or, you know, just have like one of the open the
- 32:02little perfume samples and it's just, you know, straight motor oil smell. That's an all. Yeah.
- 32:08Motor oil. Kind of like the Pato thing of the other year. Right.
- 32:12Yeah. Very clearly. Oh, man. But yeah.
- 32:15So, no, I'm. Yeah.
- 32:18Call me old. Call us old millennials. It's just. It's just sad. I'm a reader.
- 32:24I'm a reader. I don't. I don't even have a Kindle. Like, I'm old school book.
- 32:30I do both because sometimes I forget the book and I lose it and leave it places.
- 32:36So I have a Kindle app on my phone.
- 32:39But I do have regular books as well. I read my books in the pool.
- 32:41So I don't want to get my Kindle wet if I had a Kindle. Well, that makes sense.
- 32:49So, but yes. And speaking of books, actually, Marco Andretti is bringing out
- 32:53a book. He just posted that on Instagram.
- 32:57The other day. So I'm excited. Well, that's cool. We're trying to have a book. A memoir.
- 33:02So it should be good. It should be good. That should be. Are you so excited?
- 33:06I am very excited. I bet you are.
- 33:09Yes. I'll read that. Have you signed up for the pre-order yet?
- 33:13I have not. I gotta look into that. My week this week has been crazy, so.
- 33:18You've had a crazy week. You have. I have not, but I need to get on that.
- 33:22But I was like liking it. I was like, yes.
- 33:27I love that. I love that for you. So, all right. Well, I think that's it. Yes, be ready to watch.
- 33:34Should be entertaining. It'll
- 33:36be a good weekend. It'll be a weekend to talk about. That's for sure.
- 33:40It will be. And yeah, hope everybody stays safe. Hope Mother Nature stops being mad at us.
- 33:47And is nice to everybody for the next week. Please, please, please.
- 33:51I would like some sun. I would like to go to the pool before the end of Labor Day.
- 33:56But yeah, before the end of summer, I'm right there with you.
- 33:59I would love a little more pool time. I'm not quite as tan as I usually am at
- 34:02this time of year, and I don't like it.
- 34:04It means it's going to be a long winter for me. It's okay. I.
- 34:11Did my time when I was a lifeguard, so now I do SPF 70 or wear a big hat that
- 34:18if you see me at the racetrack, I usually wear.
- 34:20Well, I do protect the face, of course. That's the moneymaker.
- 34:24But, you know, the rest of the skin, I like to have a little bronze.
- 34:28I'll get mine from a bottle if I do it.
- 34:32Just as long as I don't go into the spray tan booth and, you know,
- 34:36I'll do the Ross from Friends.
- 34:39Exactly, yeah. I go in there and I like freeze up still anyway and I'm like,
- 34:45I'm like. Oh, because it's cold when they spray it on you too.
- 34:49Yeah, I'm not a fan. Not a fan. So, oh, all right. Well, I think that'll do it for Sarah.
- 34:56I'm Abby, and we'll see you at the racetrack.
