- 0:00In the quiet after America's 250th anniversary,
- 0:04when the fireworks have faded and the crowds
- 0:07have gone home, a new story begins. This is Voices
- 0:12of Life, a journey into the next chapter of the
- 0:15American story, a chapter still being written
- 0:18by faith, by courage, and by the hand of Providence.
- 0:23And guiding us through this new season is your
- 0:26host, Pastor David. This is the Voices of Life
- 0:48Podcast, a ministry of the Church for Life. I'm
- 0:51Pastor David. Today we begin a brand new journey
- 0:55together. America has just crossed a milestone.
- 0:59250 years and now in the quiet after the celebration
- 1:04we pause to ask what comes next the fireworks
- 1:07have faded the crowds have gone home but the
- 1:10story of this nation is still being written and
- 1:14God is still calling us forward so I want to
- 1:16welcome you to week one of our new voices of
- 1:21life series America after 250 the story continues
- 1:25over the coming weeks We're going to explore
- 1:28where we've been, where we are, and where God
- 1:32is leading us as a nation. Today's episode sets
- 1:35the foundation. A moment of reflection, a moment
- 1:39of honesty, and a moment of hope. I'm grateful
- 1:42you're here. Let's begin this journey together.
- 1:45America has crossed the threshold. 250 years,
- 1:49a quarter of a millennium. A span of time so
- 1:52vast that it holds generations of stories, sacrifices,
- 1:56triumphs, failures, awakenings, and miracles.
- 2:00And now this celebration is over. The fireworks
- 2:03that lit the sky have faded into memory. The
- 2:07speeches that stirred our hearts have been archived.
- 2:11The crowds that filled our streets have returned
- 2:14home. The flags that wave proudly in the summer
- 2:17wind now rest quietly on porches and mantles.
- 2:22There is a stillness in the air. A sacred, quiet,
- 2:26that only comes after great moments have passed.
- 2:31It is the quiet after the anniversary, the quiet
- 2:33where reflection begins, the quiet where truth
- 2:36speaks, and the quiet where God whispers to a
- 2:40nation that he has reached a turning point. Anniversaries
- 2:44are powerful things. They remind us of where
- 2:47we came from. They remind us of what we endured.
- 2:51They remind us of the foundations that laid long
- 2:54before any of us were born. But anniversaries
- 2:58also do something else, something deeper. They
- 3:01force us to ask what comes next. So today, as
- 3:05we begin this new 26 -week journey, we stand
- 3:08in that quiet moment. We stand in the space between
- 3:13what America has been and what America must become.
- 3:17We stand in the doorway between history and destiny.
- 3:21We stand in the pause between celebration and
- 3:24responsibility. Psalm 33 verse 12 declares blessed
- 3:29is the nation whose God is the Lord. It does
- 3:33not say blessed is the nation that is perfect.
- 3:36It does not say that blessed is the nation that
- 3:39is powerful. It does not say that blessed is
- 3:43the nation that is wealthy. It says blessed is
- 3:46the nation whose God is the Lord, the nation
- 3:49that seeks Him, honors Him, remembers Him, and
- 3:53returns to Him. So as we begin these series,
- 3:56I want to speak to you directly to every listener,
- 3:58every believer, every family, every leader, every
- 4:01young person searching for direction in a world
- 4:04that feels increasingly uncertain. America's
- 4:07future is not written in Washington. It is not
- 4:11written in the headlines. It is not written in
- 4:13the polls. America's future is written in the
- 4:16hearts of its people. In the choices we make,
- 4:21in the faith we keep, in the courage we show,
- 4:25in the truth we refuse to abandon, in the hope
- 4:28we refuse to surrender. And today, we begin writing
- 4:33the next chapter. 250 years is not just a number.
- 4:38It is a testimony. A testimony of endurance because
- 4:42America has endured storms that would have destroyed
- 4:45lesser nations. A testimony of conviction because
- 4:49generation after generation believed in something
- 4:51greater than themselves. A testimony of sacrifice
- 4:55because freedom has never been free. A testimony
- 5:00of divine mercy because God has spared this nation
- 5:04more times than history can record. A testimony
- 5:08of divine patience because America has wandered,
- 5:13stumbled, and drifted, yet God has continued
- 5:16to call her back. When a nation reaches 250 years,
- 5:20it stands at a crossroads. The past cannot carry
- 5:24the future. The achievements of yesterday cannot
- 5:26sustain the challenges of tomorrow. A nation
- 5:29must decide who it is. and who it will become.
- 5:34America is in that moment now. We are living
- 5:38in a time of cultural confusion, political exhaustion,
- 5:42spiritual hunger, technological acceleration
- 5:45and generational transition. We are living in
- 5:50a moment when people are searching for identity.
- 5:53meaning, stability, and truth. We are living
- 5:56in a moment when the noise of the world is loud,
- 6:00but the voice of God is still speaking quietly,
- 6:03steadily, and faithfully. And the question before
- 6:06us is simple. What does God want from America
- 6:10now? The Church's responsibility after the anniversary
- 6:15is to give this guidance. The Church cannot be
- 6:19silent at this moment. not now, not after the
- 6:22anniversary, not when a nation is searching for
- 6:25clarity, direction, and hope. The church must
- 6:28speak, not with anger, but with truth, not with
- 6:33fear, but with faith, not with division, but
- 6:37with compassion, not with despair, but with hope.
- 6:43America does not need louder outrage. America
- 6:48needs deeper wisdom. America needs stronger conviction.
- 6:52America needs clearer voices. America needs spiritual
- 6:56leadership that is anchored in scripture, grounded
- 6:59in love, and courageous in the face of uncertainty.
- 7:04That is why Voices of Life exists. To speak into
- 7:07the noise with clarity. To speak into the confusion
- 7:10with scripture. To speak into the fear with courage
- 7:15and to speak into the division with compassion
- 7:19and to speak into the moment with truth. The
- 7:22anniversary was not a finish line it was a doorway
- 7:26and the church must walk through it with purpose.
- 7:31I want you to feel the weight of this moment
- 7:34not as a burden but as a calling. America's had
- 7:38reached 250 years but America's story is not
- 7:41finished. America's mission is not complete and
- 7:45America's future is not lost because the author
- 7:49of her story is still writing and the church
- 7:54is still speaking. This is the quiet after the
- 7:58celebration. This is the moment when reflection
- 8:00becomes responsibility. This is the moment when
- 8:03history becomes destiny. And this is the moment
- 8:07when America begins her next chapter. When a
- 8:10nation celebrates a milestone as significant
- 8:13as 250 years, the celebration itself becomes
- 8:16kind of a national heartbeat. The music, the
- 8:19fireworks, the speeches, the gatherings, they
- 8:22all create a rhythm that carries us through the
- 8:25moment. But when the celebration ends, something
- 8:28deeper begins. The noise fades, the questions
- 8:31rise. The excitement settles and the truth steps
- 8:35forward. The day after the anniversary, is where
- 8:40real work begins. America has always been a nation
- 8:43defined not only by its victories, but by its
- 8:46responses to turning points. The Revolutionary
- 8:50War was a turning point. The Civil War was a
- 8:52turning point. The Great Depression, the Civil
- 8:56Rights Era, the Cold War, the Technological Revolution,
- 9:02each moment forced America to look inward and
- 9:05ask who she was and who she intended to be. And
- 9:10now reaching 250 years is another turning point.
- 9:14It is a moment when the past bows respectfully
- 9:18and the future steps onto stage. The question
- 9:23before us is not simply what has America been?
- 9:26The question is what does God want America to
- 9:29become now? This is not a political question.
- 9:32This is not a cultural question and this is not
- 9:35a generational question. This is a spiritual
- 9:38question Perhaps the most important spiritual
- 9:41question of our time in Psalm 33 verse 12 tells
- 9:45us Blessed is the nation whose God is Lord that
- 9:49verse is not a slogan I repeat this because it
- 9:53is the spiritual law. It is the truth that has
- 9:57shaped nations throughout history. When a nation
- 9:59aligns itself with God, it finds blessings. When
- 10:02a nation drifts from God, it finds confusion.
- 10:06And when a nation returns to God, it finds renewal.
- 10:10And America, standing here 250 years, is being
- 10:13invited to return. Blessing is not a trophy.
- 10:16Blessing is not a reward. Blessing is not a medal
- 10:19pinned on the chest of a nation that has performed
- 10:22well. Because blessings have responsibility.
- 10:25And America has been blessed with freedom. But
- 10:29freedom requires stewardship. America has been
- 10:32blessed with opportunity. But opportunity requires
- 10:35integrity. America has been blessed with innovation.
- 10:39But innovation requires wisdom. America has been
- 10:43blessed with influence, but influence requires
- 10:46humility. And America has been blessed with abundance,
- 10:51but abundance requires gratitude. We've been
- 10:54blessed with so many different things, heritage
- 10:57of faith, but heritage requires remembrance.
- 11:02The day after the anniversary is the day when
- 11:05blessings become responsibility. It is the day
- 11:08when celebration becomes calling. It is the day
- 11:11when history becomes assignment. And assignment
- 11:14is not given to governments alone. It is not
- 11:17given to institutions alone. And it's not given
- 11:20to our leaders alone. It is given to the people,
- 11:24to the families, to the communities, to the churches,
- 11:27to the believers who understand that the future
- 11:29of a nation is shaped by faith of citizens. Renewal
- 11:34is not a political movement. Renewal is not a
- 11:37cultural trend. Renewal is not a slogan printed
- 11:40on a banner or spoken in a speech. Renewal is
- 11:43a return to God, a return to the truth, holiness,
- 11:48return to compassion, integrity, a return to
- 11:51prayer, a return to scripture, to community,
- 11:55and to our mission. America will not be renewed
- 11:57by force. America will be renewed by faith. The
- 12:00day after the anniversary is the day when America
- 12:04must decide whether she will return. Not return
- 12:07to old politics, not return to old divisions,
- 12:10not return to old wounds, but to return to God.
- 12:14The one who carried her through the storms, the
- 12:16one who preserved her through the wars, the one
- 12:19who sustained her through the crises, and the
- 12:22one who blessed her beyond measure. The church
- 12:25stands at a crossroad as well. For decades, the
- 12:28church in America has wrestled with its identity,
- 12:31torn between cultural influence and spiritual
- 12:34purity, between public voice and private devotion,
- 12:39between tradition and innovation. But now, after
- 12:42the anniversary, the church must rediscover its
- 12:45calling. The church cannot be a spectator in
- 12:49America's story. The church is not a commentator
- 12:52on America's story. And the church is not a critic.
- 12:56The church must be a participant, a builder,
- 13:00a healer, a witness, a shepherd, and a voice.
- 13:03The church must speak not with anger but with
- 13:06truth, not with fear but with faith, and not
- 13:09with division but with compassion. And if we
- 13:12find despair, we have to respond with hope. America
- 13:16does not need louder outrage. America needs deeper
- 13:20wisdom. We need stronger conviction, clearer
- 13:24voices. We need spiritual leadership that is
- 13:28anchored in Scripture, grounded in love and courageous
- 13:31in the face of uncertainty. This is the church's
- 13:34moment. This is the church's assignment. And
- 13:37this is what our calling is. That is what my
- 13:39calling is as your pastor. As we move deeper,
- 13:43I want you to picture America not as a map and
- 13:46not as a government and not a collection of institutions.
- 13:51But think of America as a person. person standing
- 13:54at a crossroads looking back at 250 years of
- 13:58history and looking forward at an unknown future.
- 14:02There are a lot of things that are coming at
- 14:03us in today's world. There's a lot of opinions,
- 14:07there's a lot of philosophies, a lot of things
- 14:10that are trying to change what our nation is.
- 14:13The person that's standing at this crossroads
- 14:15is searching for identity, meaning, stability,
- 14:19truth, and hope. And all we seem to get a lot
- 14:23of is noise and we get noise of a very loud world
- 14:27the confusion of the moment is real the uncertainty
- 14:31of the future is heavy because there's a lot
- 14:33of things that are trying to take away our freedoms
- 14:37a lot of movements and people that don't believe
- 14:41what this country is stand for and they're trying
- 14:43to change the country we have to stand firm we
- 14:47must stand there with courage Because we have
- 14:50to remember, no matter what's happening, the
- 14:53voice of God is still speaking quietly, steadily,
- 14:58and faithfully. And those who would want to turn
- 15:00us away from God are the people that are trying
- 15:04to push their agendas, their beliefs onto us.
- 15:09But we reject them. We reject them because we
- 15:11know what is right. And we're not saying what
- 15:14they believe is wrong, but it's not what we believe
- 15:17in. It's not what the history and foundation
- 15:20of this country believed in. And that's why our
- 15:23country has stood this test of time. If we go
- 15:26to what other countries have been, socialists,
- 15:29communists, fascists, any of these other philosophies,
- 15:33they've all failed. Just look around. There's
- 15:36examples all over. The closest one to us is in
- 15:38Cuba with communism. Socialism going on in places
- 15:42like Spain. I can't tell you what goes on in
- 15:44Russia. I think it's still communism, even though
- 15:47the sort of pretend to have a democracy, but
- 15:49the one thing that separates them from us is
- 15:52we are a constitutional republic. We are a constitutional
- 15:55republic that the founders made sure that Providence
- 15:59was part of what we did, what we built, and what
- 16:03we became. They believed in prayer. They believed
- 16:05that God put obstacles for us to overcome, but
- 16:09never let us stray far from where we needed to
- 16:12be as long as we had that faith. And the church
- 16:15must help America hear that that voice that our
- 16:18founders received that wisdom from God and that
- 16:22God still speaks to us. So remember the day after
- 16:25the anniversary is not the day of rest, it is
- 16:27the day of awakening. It is a day of responsibility.
- 16:29It is a day of calling. It is a day when America
- 16:32must decide whether she will walk forward with
- 16:36God or walk forward alone. And Voices Alive continues
- 16:39this journey. We declare that America's story
- 16:42is not finished. Her calling is not done. Her
- 16:45mission is not finished. And the future is not
- 16:48lost. It is right in front of us. Because the
- 16:51author of her story is still writing. We're doing
- 16:54this together. And the church is still speaking,
- 16:57which is very important for our salvation as
- 17:00people. When a nation reaches a milestone, as
- 17:04profound as 250 years, something begins to stir
- 17:07beneath the surface. It's not as visible as a
- 17:10firework or a parade. And it's not heard in speeches
- 17:12or songs. We can't even see a photo of it or
- 17:15an image. But we can try to imagine. It is something
- 17:19quieter, deeper and more spiritual. It is the
- 17:22awareness that the nation has reached the crossroads.
- 17:25A moment when the past bows respectfully and
- 17:28the future steps forward waiting to be shaped.
- 17:31Let us talk about what kind of nation will America
- 17:35choose to be after the next 250 years. You know,
- 17:39this is not for the politicians alone or the
- 17:42historians or even the commentators and analysts
- 17:45or institutions. This is a question for you,
- 17:48for the people, for the families, for the communities,
- 17:51for us in the churches, for believers, for every
- 17:55person who understands that the future of a nation
- 17:57is shaped not by its government but by its character.
- 18:02Character is shaped by truth and there are moments
- 18:05in our life of a nation where history hands the
- 18:08people a pen. and says, write the next chapter.
- 18:13This is one of those moments where you have that
- 18:17pen in your hand. Because for 250 years, America
- 18:20has been writing a story, a story of courage,
- 18:23struggle, triumph, repentance, awakening, resilience.
- 18:27But now the pen has been placed in our hands.
- 18:30That next chapter will not be written by the
- 18:33past, it will be written by the present. It's
- 18:35going to be written by us. And the question is
- 18:37not whether America will write the new chapter.
- 18:40The question is what kind of chapter will it
- 18:43be? Will it be a chapter of division or unity?
- 18:47Will it be a chapter of confusion or clarity?
- 18:50Will it be a chapter of fear or faith? Will it
- 18:53be a chapter of decline or renewal? Will it be
- 18:58a chapter written by human hands alone or by
- 19:01a nation returning to the guidance of God? Again,
- 19:05Psalm 33 verse 12, blessed is the nation whose
- 19:09God is Lord. But remember it's not automatic
- 19:12and it's not guaranteed, it's not inherited.
- 19:14You have to make that choice. And it's time for
- 19:17America to choose again. So I want you to imagine
- 19:20America not as the map again, but as the people,
- 19:25all of us, that are searching. for meaning, truth,
- 19:28and hope. We have to eliminate the noise. We
- 19:36don't want uncertainty. We know where we need
- 19:39to go. You know where you need to go. You know
- 19:41where this country needs to go. And that's why
- 19:43together, the people, the communities, the believers,
- 19:47the churches will be a participant in America's
- 19:52story. I remember I said earlier, The churches
- 19:54can't be by the side either as a commentator.
- 19:58We have to be a willing participant and we have
- 20:00to be willing to take a risk. And we need to
- 20:03understand that no matter what people throw in
- 20:05front of us that goes against our beliefs, we
- 20:08can't meet that with anger. We need to meet it
- 20:11with truth. We can't fear movements. We have
- 20:14to have faith in the right that we are doing
- 20:18will move forward. And when it comes to division,
- 20:21well, we want unity, but we can't make everybody
- 20:24feel and think the same way we do. So we have
- 20:27to address it with compassion and hope and prayer.
- 20:31So we have to make renewal not a political movement
- 20:34but renewal must be a return to God. It's not
- 20:38in our culture necessarily, especially not the
- 20:40culture that we see in today's society, but a
- 20:43return to holiness and a return to compassion
- 20:46and prayer through scripture, returns us to our
- 20:50mission of our country. America will not be renewed
- 20:52by force, only by your faith. As we discuss our
- 20:56final segment today, I want you to imagine America
- 20:59not as a headline, not as a political debate,
- 21:02and not a collection of institutions, but a living
- 21:05story. A story that has been unfolding for 250
- 21:09years. A story written by ordinary people, many
- 21:12of whom did extraordinary things. A story shaped
- 21:15by the faith, courage, and sacrifice, and hope
- 21:18of many people. A story carried forward by generations
- 21:21who believed that tomorrow could be better than
- 21:23today. We as parents know that we always want
- 21:26to make things better for our children as they
- 21:28move forward. We're the children of the nation
- 21:30and we want the country to do better as it moves
- 21:33forward for future generations. Let's take the
- 21:37responsibility. Let's look at what the future
- 21:40could be and let us start to write. We have that
- 21:43pen in our hands. We know that we can make things
- 21:47whatever we want them to be. All we have to do
- 21:49is seek guidance from the Lord and keep that
- 21:52faith. I think when we speak at the church, we
- 21:55have to remember the church is not here to retreat
- 21:58from the world. The church is here to engage
- 22:02it. We engage with compassion and courage and
- 22:05truth. And scripture, we use that as a reference
- 22:08because that is our guide. And love, that has
- 22:11to be in everything we do. Because America doesn't
- 22:14need a louder church, we need a clearer church.
- 22:18a church that speaks with conviction, that stands
- 22:21with integrity, that leads with humility, and
- 22:25a church that prays with urgency, a church that
- 22:27loves with sincerity, and a church that remembers
- 22:30who she is. But remember one thing about a church,
- 22:34without the parishioners, without you, the believers,
- 22:38without you, the main ingredient, there is no
- 22:41church. Pastor does not make up a church. Deacons
- 22:44don't make up a church. It is all of us together.
- 22:47It is our church community. Let us pray. Lord,
- 22:50we stand at the threshold of a new chapter in
- 22:52the life of our nation. We ask for your guidance,
- 22:55your mercy, your wisdom, your courage, your protection,
- 22:59and your renewal. Bless this nation. Bless its
- 23:03people. Bless its leaders. Bless its churches.
- 23:07Bless its future. and let America after 250 years
- 23:12continue to walk in your light. We ask this in
- 23:16His holy name. Amen. So America, your story is
- 23:20not yet over. Your calling is not yet finished.
- 23:23Your mission is not complete because as we said
- 23:26earlier, you are the author of this story and
- 23:29the church is still speaking and we're still
- 23:31here to support and move things as we need to.
- 23:34It is our hope at Voices of Life and the Church
- 23:37for Life. that you take this opportunity and
- 23:41improve upon the past. Take the lessons learned.
- 23:44Thank you for joining us today on Voices of Life,
- 23:48the ministry of the Church for Life. I'm Pastor
- 23:50David. I hope you'll take the time to follow
- 23:52us on our 26 -week journey as we continue after
- 23:56our 250th anniversary. It helps understand the
- 24:00direction our country must go in. With your guidance,
- 24:03our support, we will move in the right direction
- 24:06together. Until next time. As America steps beyond
- 24:10her 250 -year anniversary, the celebration fades,
- 24:16but the calling remains. Today we looked into
- 24:20the quiet after the fireworks, the moment when
- 24:24a nation listens, the moment when God still speaks.
- 24:29The story of America is not finished. The next
- 24:32chapter is waiting. And we will walk it together,
