- 0:00Speaker 1: A lot of people look back and they go, I've
- 0:01Speaker 1: been wasting my life, and I know it's impossible. It's
- 0:04Speaker 1: absolutely impossible to waste your life. Every single thing you've learned,
- 0:07Speaker 1: every single challenge you've had, has been set there to
- 0:10Speaker 1: get you to where you are now. Yeah, you may
- 0:13Speaker 1: not know the direction you want to go, but there's
- 0:15Speaker 1: certainly a lot of things out there. I mean, you
- 0:17Speaker 1: can get on and you can listen to me, you
- 0:18Speaker 1: can listen to Mark Victor Hanson. We can read your book,
- 0:21Speaker 1: Marcy and probably find some direction there. I've got other
- 0:24Speaker 1: mentors I've worked with, and so the second thing I
- 0:27Speaker 1: do is I go go sit down with somebody and
- 0:29Speaker 1: talk to them and say I'm not quite sure where
- 0:31Speaker 1: I want to go and have a discussion, you know,
- 0:35Speaker 1: have it back and forth like we're having right now,
- 0:38Speaker 1: and go communicate and go connect.
- 0:40Speaker 2: This is Wake Up with Marcy, a space for honest
- 0:43Speaker 2: conversations about healing, recovery and women's wellness.
- 0:47Speaker 3: I'm Marcy Hopkins. Take a breath. You're safe here.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Let's begin. You're not burnt out, you're not lazy, you're misaligned,
- 1:00Speaker 2: and once you understand that, everything starts to change. Welcome
- 1:05Speaker 2: to Wake Up with Marcy. I'm your host, Marcy Hopkins,
- 1:08Speaker 2: and this is the show where we have real, raw
- 1:11Speaker 2: and transformational conversations designed to wake you up to your life,
- 1:16Speaker 2: your purpose, and what's truly possible for you. Hello, A,
- 1:21Speaker 2: welcome back to Wake Up with Marcia. I'm so grateful
- 1:24Speaker 2: you are here with me today. I'm your host, Marcy Hopkins,
- 1:28Speaker 2: and this is the show where we have real, raw
- 1:31Speaker 2: and transformational conversations designed to wake you up to your life,
- 1:37Speaker 2: your purpose and what's truly possible for you. And today's
- 1:41Speaker 2: conversation is one you're going to want to feel. It's
- 1:46Speaker 2: about alignment. And today I'm joined by doctor Kyle hulsebas author, speaker,
- 1:53Speaker 2: human potential specialist, and a third generation chiropractor who's helping
- 1:58Speaker 2: people rethink health alignment and what it really means to
- 2:03Speaker 2: live well. And what we're diving into today is something
- 2:07Speaker 2: so many people are experiencing right now, feeling stuck, feeling off,
- 2:12Speaker 2: feeling disconnected and not really knowing why.
- 2:16Speaker 3: So welcome to the show, Doctor Kyle.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Thank you, thank you. I'm grateful to be here and
- 2:23Speaker 1: to be able to share a little bit about wellness, health,
- 2:27Speaker 1: human potential.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Oh, let me tell you, I get really excited about
- 2:32Speaker 2: these conversations because there's so much information. But it's when
- 2:38Speaker 2: we actually take it in and maybe hear it a
- 2:41Speaker 2: different way and put it into action.
- 2:43Speaker 3: That things really start changing for us.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Yeah, well that's and you know, just having grown up
- 2:51Speaker 1: under the auspices of a chiropractor who grew up under
- 2:55Speaker 1: a chiropractor who you know, learned chiropractic back in the
- 2:58Speaker 1: nineteen forties, you know, sort of has this real strong
- 3:02Speaker 1: philosophical background. It's even one of the things we do
- 3:06Speaker 1: a lot when we educate people and take in new
- 3:10Speaker 1: patients is what I say in the office is really
- 3:14Speaker 1: ten percent of what I do in the office is
- 3:16Speaker 1: adjust your spine and take care of your health. But
- 3:19Speaker 1: the ninety percent of what I do, because I'm a doctor,
- 3:22Speaker 1: is to educate you, to inform you, to empower you
- 3:26Speaker 1: in this idea of health. And so one thing where
- 3:29Speaker 1: we become fairly skilled at early on is how to
- 3:32Speaker 1: reframe health so that people understand it. And you know,
- 3:37Speaker 1: there might be a little bit of sarcasm that shows
- 3:40Speaker 1: up in the profession that way, but that could come
- 3:42Speaker 1: from the founders. It's like somebody comes in and says, well,
- 3:45Speaker 1: I have my knee hurts, and I go okay, and
- 3:47Speaker 1: they go it's probably from running, and I'll go great,
- 3:50Speaker 1: did only your knee go running?
- 3:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, I love. It really is fascinating.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Where maybe you're feeling the pain but it's coming from
- 4:05Speaker 2: a different place, and how so much is connected to
- 4:08Speaker 2: our spine and how chiropractic work really does help us
- 4:12Speaker 2: to heal and it's not just about the alignment of
- 4:16Speaker 2: the back.
- 4:17Speaker 3: And so I want to bring that up.
- 4:19Speaker 2: That's one of the things that you did grow up
- 4:21Speaker 2: in a family of chiropractors, right, deeply rooted in this
- 4:27Speaker 2: chiropractic care and health.
- 4:31Speaker 3: So what did that early exposure teach.
- 4:34Speaker 2: You about the human body and about life and about
- 4:39Speaker 2: what most people don't realize until much later in life.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Yeah, well, let me I'll show you a little bit
- 4:47Speaker 1: about the origin. Because my grandfather came back from World
- 4:50Speaker 1: War Two as money gis did kind of looking for direction. Yeah.
- 4:56Speaker 1: I don't know the circumstances around him meeting my grandmother,
- 4:58Speaker 1: but they met, they got married. My grandmother had a
- 5:00Speaker 1: lot of health problems. She had a lot of digestive
- 5:02Speaker 1: issues all the time, and at the time, the best
- 5:06Speaker 1: place I think you could go was like the Surgeons
- 5:09Speaker 1: Association in Chicago, and they said live with it. You know,
- 5:13Speaker 1: you daily had aches, constant gut problems. Live with it.
- 5:15Speaker 1: I mean that's that was their solution at the time.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Not that they were bad, it's just that they didn't
- 5:20Speaker 1: have a lot. Yeah, I mean they just they that
- 5:24Speaker 1: was where it was. And he was originally from Iowa,
- 5:27Speaker 1: so they they stopped on the way to Iowa down
- 5:31Speaker 1: in Davenport, Iowa on the Mississippi River is part of
- 5:35Speaker 1: the Quad Cities, which is where the original Chiropractic College was,
- 5:40Speaker 1: the Palmer School at Chiropractic at the time. And you know,
- 5:44Speaker 1: I and again I don't know the circumstances, but I
- 5:46Speaker 1: have this I have this sort of thing in my
- 5:48Speaker 1: head that says, you know, come come see doctor Palmer
- 5:50Speaker 1: School at Chiropractic and be cared of this ale. And
- 5:52Speaker 1: because he had a radio station, the first radio station
- 5:56Speaker 1: was to the Mississippi and somewhere in there, he might
- 5:59Speaker 1: have just said, you know what, we got to lose.
- 6:01Speaker 1: And they went into his school. And my grandmother was adjusted,
- 6:05Speaker 1: and she told me for many years she goes whenever
- 6:07Speaker 1: she complained, She goes, I don't know if I should
- 6:09Speaker 1: really complain, because since that day I've never had a headache,
- 6:12Speaker 1: And her digestive problems cleared up. And on top of that,
- 6:16Speaker 1: it turned out she was having fertility issues and she
- 6:18Speaker 1: was able to conceive after that, and and then and
- 6:22Speaker 1: then had my uncle, and shortly after they graduated. So
- 6:26Speaker 1: I grew up with this idea of health and the spine,
- 6:29Speaker 1: and there was so much more potential in there. It's
- 6:31Speaker 1: just that there's interference and all we got to do
- 6:33Speaker 1: is remove it. So and the whole concept behind chiropractic
- 6:38Speaker 1: is it's simplicity. And even even the way we run
- 6:42Speaker 1: our business is keep it simple. It's, you know, we
- 6:46Speaker 1: don't have to get into all this complexity when I
- 6:48Speaker 1: when I speak to businesses, I look and I go,
- 6:50Speaker 1: don't make it too complex. Uh, you know, we just
- 6:53Speaker 1: when when you adjust, it's a very small, simple thing
- 6:57Speaker 1: that goes on. So he he was deeply rooted in
- 7:01Speaker 1: the philosophy because chiropractic is the only healthcare profession founded
- 7:04Speaker 1: out of philosophy that the body has an innate healing ability,
- 7:09Speaker 1: and he raised his three sons that way. They all
- 7:12Speaker 1: went to chiropractic college, and my dad was probably a
- 7:15Speaker 1: little more of the philosopher of the bunch, to be fair,
- 7:18Speaker 1: and also a bit more of the scientists of the bunch.
- 7:21Speaker 1: But then when I was at school at the University
- 7:24Speaker 1: of Iowa, he was down in Palmer again doing a
- 7:27Speaker 1: postgraduate program for chiropractic philosophy. So I got raised. Anytime
- 7:33Speaker 1: I would run into stuff, it would be like people
- 7:36Speaker 1: would tell me, oh, you need to take this, or
- 7:37Speaker 1: you need to take this, and I'd go, well, but
- 7:39Speaker 1: why and everybody take this?
- 7:42Speaker 3: You mean like a drug?
- 7:44Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, you know, oh, well, you know it
- 7:45Speaker 1: takes a badville, or you should go you should go
- 7:48Speaker 1: to the doctor, and don't you go to the doctor.
- 7:50Speaker 1: And I go, well, I go to my dad.
- 7:54Speaker 2: So those are more of the band aids, not getting
- 7:57Speaker 2: to what's actually happening within the body, right.
- 8:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I and I've got damage to my spine.
- 8:05Speaker 1: So fortunately my dad was a chiropractor. But you know,
- 8:09Speaker 1: I distinctly remember being like nine, nine or ten years
- 8:11Speaker 1: old at my friend's house and I'm going, man, I
- 8:13Speaker 1: got a headache, and his dad goes, well, I have
- 8:15Speaker 1: some advil or an aspirin and I go, what's that?
- 8:19Speaker 1: And he was like horrified, like, how do you not
- 8:22Speaker 1: know what aspirin is? I go, I don't know, you
- 8:23Speaker 1: know what's aspern He goes, well, that's what you take
- 8:24Speaker 1: when you have headaches, And I go, oh, I just
- 8:27Speaker 1: usually just my dad adjusts me, and then I don't
- 8:29Speaker 1: have a headache.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Wow.
- 8:31Speaker 1: So I took as and I couldn't swallow it because
- 8:33Speaker 1: I'm not very good at taking pills, so I shoot it,
- 8:37Speaker 1: which anybody's chewing aspirin, thouse it's a little better. So
- 8:43Speaker 1: you know, that's That's not that I don't take medications
- 8:46Speaker 1: when I needed to get over stuff. But my thought
- 8:51Speaker 1: process has always been if it doesn't, if I can't
- 8:54Speaker 1: sort of bring him back to how's the internal doing that,
- 9:01Speaker 1: I have a hard sort of logic problem with it.
- 9:04Speaker 3: Well, let me.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Ask you, because I've heard many stories. You know, young
- 9:11Speaker 2: young kids have these digestive problems. They finally get aligned
- 9:15Speaker 2: and they don't have the problems anymore.
- 9:19Speaker 3: You know, a lot of times we think.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Of chiropractors of just fixing the pain in our hip
- 9:25Speaker 2: or our back, whatever the case may be. What is
- 9:29Speaker 2: that connection? How is it so connected to the other
- 9:34Speaker 2: parts of the body. And if we are going in
- 9:37Speaker 2: for this this alignment, how is it helping these other parts.
- 9:43Speaker 1: So we'll give you the basic rundown. Your brain's main
- 9:48Speaker 1: objective with you physically is to keep these trillions of
- 9:54Speaker 1: cells running in coordination, in harmony all the time. It
- 10:01Speaker 1: is continuously working to adapt you to the inputs that
- 10:05Speaker 1: it gets and the great stresses that are on it,
- 10:08Speaker 1: which you know on Earth is gravity, and we've got gravity,
- 10:12Speaker 1: and we've got air pressure, and we've got barometric pressure
- 10:14Speaker 1: and we've got That's why people say, oh, the weather changed,
- 10:16Speaker 1: and you know, my cough came back, or my knee aches,
- 10:19Speaker 1: and your body's working to adapt you to these things.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Your brain is getting this information and it's its main
- 10:26Speaker 1: communication ability is on your spinal cord, and so it's
- 10:30Speaker 1: sent it's sent out basically roots from itself down as
- 10:35Speaker 1: a spinal cord, and from there it branches off individual
- 10:38Speaker 1: nerves that go between the bones of the spine. That's
- 10:40Speaker 1: why you have movable vertebra between those bones, and they
- 10:44Speaker 1: go out and they connect to every single organ in
- 10:48Speaker 1: the body, every single one. It can't be every cell
- 10:51Speaker 1: because you can't have nerves flowing through your bloodstream. That
- 10:53Speaker 1: would get confusing. But but it does. But but like
- 10:56Speaker 1: for instance, with with blood cells, it does go to
- 10:58Speaker 1: the bone marrow and say produce more. It does go
- 11:00Speaker 1: to the spleen and say take these away. It does
- 11:02Speaker 1: go to you know, your your thymus and say produce
- 11:05Speaker 1: more here, and your thyroid to create energy, and your
- 11:08Speaker 1: digestive tract to do this, and your heart to do it.
- 11:11Speaker 1: It's constantly talking to all these and it has great
- 11:13Speaker 1: automatic processes that it's created to handle situations. But at
- 11:18Speaker 1: the same time it's it's still maintaining this constant continuous control.
- 11:23Speaker 1: And as it has nerves that go here and create
- 11:25Speaker 1: what we call motor actions out, it has also sensory
- 11:29Speaker 1: ones taking all the information going back in. So it's
- 11:31Speaker 1: a two way continuous thing. And when we've had like
- 11:36Speaker 1: functional MRIs of the brain, you can see all the
- 11:38Speaker 1: different areas light up, and that's where we see creativity
- 11:42Speaker 1: come from. Movement and that's where we see you know,
- 11:44Speaker 1: people will go out for walks and it stimulates your brain.
- 11:47Speaker 1: That's why we want little kids to to move and
- 11:50Speaker 1: do stuff, not sit and not move on screens, because
- 11:52Speaker 1: that's not stimulating the brain. And not that the screens
- 11:56Speaker 1: don't help too, but the the you know, there's so
- 11:59Speaker 1: much which going out all the time, and the brain
- 12:01Speaker 1: constantly wants input, so it's constantly so the only organ
- 12:06Speaker 1: system of the body entirely incased and bone, even your
- 12:09Speaker 1: heart and your lungs aren't entirely encased in these ribs
- 12:12Speaker 1: is your brain. It's it's in a cranium and your
- 12:15Speaker 1: spinal cord mostly surrounded by these vertebra. And what we find,
- 12:20Speaker 1: in a very simplistic way is if these two vertebra
- 12:24Speaker 1: misalign and lock together and stop moving properly, there's going
- 12:28Speaker 1: to start to be interference in that communication system. And
- 12:31Speaker 1: we can get into all the neurophysiology and everything like that.
- 12:34Speaker 3: But it may go over a lot of people's heads.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Into it, and I don't go over it with many people,
- 12:42Speaker 1: but you know, suffice to say, and we've got all
- 12:46Speaker 1: the scientific reasoning behind it. It starts to interfere with
- 12:49Speaker 1: this communication process. So imagine it. Imagine it very simply,
- 12:53Speaker 1: like you take your cell phone and we we put
- 12:56Speaker 1: we put something around it, tinfoil around it. It's still
- 12:59Speaker 1: going in the war, but suddenly you're going to have
- 13:03Speaker 1: the you know, we're going to get a message through,
- 13:05Speaker 1: but we're going to miss stuff, right, So the brain
- 13:08Speaker 1: stops getting great information, but it's still telling everything what
- 13:11Speaker 1: to do. And eventually you get to a point where
- 13:14Speaker 1: it tells something what to do, but it hasn't been
- 13:17Speaker 1: properly adapting, and so finally it just gives. And then
- 13:20Speaker 1: you have a symptom. And your symptom might be collitis
- 13:24Speaker 1: and gut cramps, or your symptom is suddenly your back.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Your back goes out because those muscles haven't maintained well,
- 13:31Speaker 1: or your shoulder hurts when you're trying to throw something
- 13:33Speaker 1: because that shoulder structure hasn't been maintaining well. Or suddenly
- 13:37Speaker 1: your you're you know, you start to get sudden hair
- 13:39Speaker 1: loss because your your thigh roide hasn't been maintained well.
- 13:43Speaker 1: And we get all these different little things. So when
- 13:47Speaker 1: you come to a chiropractor, the reason we focus on
- 13:51Speaker 1: your spine and the reason we talk about your pain
- 13:54Speaker 1: is we know if we adjust these areas of misalignment
- 13:57Speaker 1: and restore motion, it removes this interference and it allows
- 14:02Speaker 1: this communication system back to one hundred percent. The reason
- 14:06Speaker 1: you come back more than once is restoring the communication.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Anybody in a relationship knows this. Just because you talked
- 14:12Speaker 1: after the fight doesn't mean that it's all one hundred percent.
- 14:15Speaker 1: You still have to work to get it there. Your
- 14:19Speaker 1: brain now has to rebuild, and part of that is
- 14:23Speaker 1: even in the spine where we adjust that, we're going
- 14:27Speaker 1: to continuously put motion in there on a schedule in
- 14:30Speaker 1: order to get it to repair to the point where
- 14:32Speaker 1: you don't need us to do that. And if it
- 14:36Speaker 1: was easy at self adjusting, we just teach all the
- 14:38Speaker 1: kindergarteners to do it right, you know. Unfortunately, because it's
- 14:42Speaker 1: back here and not up here, we need somebody's aid.
- 14:46Speaker 1: So we do a lot of schooling just to be
- 14:47Speaker 1: able to understand the motion of it and to be
- 14:50Speaker 1: able to adjust it properly for any type of spinal
- 14:54Speaker 1: bone type that we have. Right, we see over a
- 14:57Speaker 1: thousand conditions in my office.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Amazing, amazing, So let's talk about when someone is out
- 15:02Speaker 2: of alignment, what does that really look like in real
- 15:06Speaker 2: life and what are some of the signs that we
- 15:10Speaker 2: may be ignoring or we normalize.
- 15:14Speaker 1: Well, you know, it's amazing, what will normalize. I've had
- 15:19Speaker 1: people come in that have just had psiatic pain for
- 15:21Speaker 1: eight years and they're just they're used to it, you know,
- 15:25Speaker 1: they limp. And the unfortunate part when they see me
- 15:29Speaker 1: is when I start to adjust them, that pain has
- 15:31Speaker 1: to come back in order to heal. And I explain
- 15:35Speaker 1: that to everybody. I go, listen, this this, this is
- 15:38Speaker 1: going to light up a little bit because it's never
- 15:41Speaker 1: really repaired and it's kind of like your brain shoved
- 15:44Speaker 1: it to the back, kind of like the you know,
- 15:47Speaker 1: your brain is good at ignoring stuff, like you put
- 15:50Speaker 1: your clothes on. It quickly forgets the feeling of your
- 15:53Speaker 1: clothes until you move suddenly or have a restriction. You know,
- 15:57Speaker 1: it'll just put that in the back. So because it says, well,
- 15:59Speaker 1: we can't do anything about it anyway, and if we're
- 16:01Speaker 1: constantly in pain, we're just going to go crazy. So
- 16:04Speaker 1: we'll stop right now. Here's here's the interesting misconception people
- 16:10Speaker 1: think when they come in and I X ray people
- 16:12Speaker 1: before I adjust them, and I'll show you the misaligned areas.
- 16:16Speaker 1: In chiropractic, we call it a subplexation, if you want
- 16:19Speaker 1: the fancy words, which means it's not dislocated, but it's
- 16:22Speaker 1: misaligned and it's not moving properly in relation above them
- 16:25Speaker 1: below and has these nerve problems and we correct these.
- 16:30Speaker 1: We adjust these with our hands manually, which is what
- 16:34Speaker 1: chiro means in chiropractic. And we're trying to put motion
- 16:38Speaker 1: back into them. But people say it feels like it's
- 16:40Speaker 1: out and I put it in, But if I X
- 16:42Speaker 1: ray you again three minutes later, it's going to look
- 16:45Speaker 1: the same. It can't change that quick. And I have
- 16:48Speaker 1: people that after twenty years still have the same misalignments.
- 16:53Speaker 1: So we talk about we're going to align the spine,
- 16:57Speaker 1: which is true in one Why however, you're you're always
- 17:02Speaker 1: it means you're human in you're undergravity and you're on
- 17:05Speaker 1: in your live your your body just needs care. And
- 17:08Speaker 1: it's the same way that that really you're wise, that
- 17:11Speaker 1: eating well and putting good fuel in you're wise. It
- 17:14Speaker 1: moving every day and doing some form of exercise, you're wise.
- 17:17Speaker 1: And stimulating your brain through through learning, you're wise, and
- 17:21Speaker 1: you know, not being angry at everybody all day or
- 17:24Speaker 1: or figuring out why you are type of thing you're
- 17:26Speaker 1: You're always going to have something there that you take
- 17:29Speaker 1: care of. When people come and they and they see
- 17:32Speaker 1: us regularly, it's not because they have to. It's not
- 17:34Speaker 1: because everything is going to come back if they don't.
- 17:37Speaker 1: It's more that I'm just they're they're just kind of
- 17:39Speaker 1: adding me in as as part of their their maintenance
- 17:42Speaker 1: for their overall health and well being. So when we
- 17:45Speaker 1: we have these when somebody comes in and they have
- 17:48Speaker 1: what we call an acute problem, it's their symptom is
- 17:51Speaker 1: shown up, either for the first time, or it's really
- 17:53Speaker 1: gotten bad for once, or it's something you want to
- 17:57Speaker 1: you know, you're going, man, I got to go do
- 17:58Speaker 1: something good. He's giving you a sign and just saying,
- 18:03Speaker 1: you know, I you know, for instance, I've had people
- 18:05Speaker 1: that come in they move, you know about like this
- 18:07Speaker 1: where they're where their head doesn't move, and I go,
- 18:09Speaker 1: I don't know what I did, and I go, you know,
- 18:12Speaker 1: we can say the straw broke the camel's back, right.
- 18:15Speaker 1: You just finally had enough pressure on it. It kept
- 18:17Speaker 1: trying to adapt, trying to adapt, and finally it said,
- 18:20Speaker 1: while we're going to freeze all these muscles, so you
- 18:22Speaker 1: stop making it worse. And you can either live that
- 18:26Speaker 1: way or you can lay down for eight days and
- 18:30Speaker 1: do nothing. You can come see me and and it's
- 18:32Speaker 1: still going to take time to heal, but we're going
- 18:35Speaker 1: to try to heal it to a place where you're
- 18:38Speaker 1: not having a breakdown that way, that's that's the signs
- 18:42Speaker 1: you get. If I find people are getting chronic digestive issues,
- 18:45Speaker 1: I go, why wouldn't we want to take a look
- 18:46Speaker 1: at where the brain talks to your digestive tract in
- 18:49Speaker 1: multiple different areas.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Yeah, it's incredible, and it's also going to affect you mentally.
- 18:54Speaker 1: It does when you Yeah, Doctor B. J. Palmer had
- 19:00Speaker 1: a quote we use. I keep it up in the
- 19:02Speaker 1: office because I really love it, and it was you
- 19:05Speaker 1: never know how far reaching something you say, think, or
- 19:08Speaker 1: do today will affect the lives of millions tomorrow. And
- 19:12Speaker 1: in his way of looking at it, because he adjusted spines,
- 19:16Speaker 1: he said, you know, one adjustment on one condition, one
- 19:19Speaker 1: spinal bone, one time, with one individual, that individual's destiny,
- 19:24Speaker 1: their potential, the way they work and operate with the
- 19:27Speaker 1: world is going to change forever. So if you're dealing
- 19:30Speaker 1: with just constant chronic health issues, yeah, that's going to
- 19:34Speaker 1: affect your work, your money, your spirituality, your ability to learn,
- 19:40Speaker 1: your marriage, your kid's relationship, your parents relationship, your friend's relationship, socially,
- 19:46Speaker 1: and then your physical health in just every aspect of
- 19:49Speaker 1: your life. So one adjustment is not going to carre
- 19:54Speaker 1: you of all your problems, but it is going to
- 19:55Speaker 1: change what's going on. So I always tell people, I go,
- 19:59Speaker 1: at least one time is better than no time. However, yeah,
- 20:03Speaker 1: I mean, you know, can can we go out? I
- 20:06Speaker 1: always say, they go. How do you affect the world?
- 20:07Speaker 1: I say, I adjust your kids, and your kids are
- 20:10Speaker 1: going to interact with the world differently.
- 20:12Speaker 2: But what's a myth out there about chiropractors, because there's
- 20:17Speaker 2: a lot of fear.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Well, my favorite myth is that, you know, some of
- 20:21Speaker 1: our doctor was telling people that that he'd never seen
- 20:23Speaker 1: a neck problem that wasn't caused by a chiropractor. And
- 20:26Speaker 1: my response to that guy was, that's amazing. How did
- 20:29Speaker 1: the car accident get caused? Like did the chiropractor run
- 20:33Speaker 1: into him? That the biggest myth is that is it
- 20:36Speaker 1: adjusting a cervical spine is dangerous, and that that myth
- 20:42Speaker 1: has gone back thousands of years. This is not new.
- 20:47Speaker 1: We train very in depth. It's probably dangerous if you
- 20:50Speaker 1: try to do it to your spouse, Yeah, you know,
- 20:54Speaker 1: that's probably assault. At that point. But the we started.
- 21:00Speaker 1: We start day one learning how to feel the spine
- 21:04Speaker 1: all areas of the spine. We learn about the motion
- 21:06Speaker 1: of the spine. We go through three years of very
- 21:09Speaker 1: in depth physical training to be able to do this safely.
- 21:13Speaker 1: The way we're taught is we're taught to adjust very
- 21:16Speaker 1: gently and then also in different ways with some more
- 21:19Speaker 1: force every type of spine. I see people with very
- 21:23Speaker 1: bad osteoporosis, we take care of people with bone cancer,
- 21:27Speaker 1: and we have a dozens of different ways of safely
- 21:31Speaker 1: adjusting all areas of the spine. Chiropractic is one of
- 21:34Speaker 1: the safest forms of health care in the world. And
- 21:36Speaker 1: if you really want to know that that's true, you
- 21:39Speaker 1: look at our insurance rates, which are the lowest in
- 21:41Speaker 1: the world because we're that safe. Yeah, so you know,
- 21:48Speaker 1: but if you're going to your buddy or if you've
- 21:50Speaker 1: got like in physical therapists do learn a little bit manipulation,
- 21:53Speaker 1: but they don't train in it, neither to Chiropractice train
- 21:56Speaker 1: in physical therapy except for class we take. Yeah, and
- 22:00Speaker 1: then you've got you've got other people in Europe, for example,
- 22:03Speaker 1: you have some uh, some mds. They take a weekend
- 22:06Speaker 1: course in chiropractic and I go, well, that that is
- 22:10Speaker 1: unsafe because you don't know what you're doing. You didn't
- 22:14Speaker 1: it's yes, we'll do.
- 22:15Speaker 3: Some homework, right, do some homework.
- 22:19Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's but it's like it's like it's like
- 22:21Speaker 1: putting a black BELLLT on in karate after you watch
- 22:24Speaker 1: the video of of Bruce Lee and saying I'm that
- 22:27Speaker 1: good now, and you know he trained for years to
- 22:31Speaker 1: get to that high level of practice. That's the biggest myth,
- 22:35Speaker 1: uh is the safety. But you know, make certain when
- 22:38Speaker 1: you go, you're going to somebody that's not sort of
- 22:40Speaker 1: this fly by night h somebody's trained, they graduating. Obviously,
- 22:44Speaker 1: nobody's going to get a license in the United States
- 22:47Speaker 1: without graduating a reputable school that's accredited on training and
- 22:51Speaker 1: that they're going to assess you. They're not just going
- 22:53Speaker 1: to say, you know, let's go.
- 22:56Speaker 2: So what about somebody out there that is going through something?
- 23:01Speaker 2: But they they're not admitting that something is wrong, right,
- 23:04Speaker 2: They're not getting vulnerable, they're not actually looking for the help.
- 23:09Speaker 2: How can they switch their mindset and admit that they
- 23:13Speaker 2: need the help?
- 23:15Speaker 1: You know that that's that's a tough question. To answer,
- 23:19Speaker 1: because the best example I can give you is, you know,
- 23:23Speaker 1: I'll get I'll get a you know, one patient in
- 23:25Speaker 1: and they'll say, my spouse really needs this, and and
- 23:28Speaker 1: they're that individual that I don't need doctors. I don't
- 23:31Speaker 1: need you know, I can figure it out. And and
- 23:35Speaker 1: I just look and I go, you know, maybe seeing
- 23:38Speaker 1: how well you do, they'll decide to come in one,
- 23:42Speaker 1: you know. And sometimes I say, we'll bring them in
- 23:44Speaker 1: so they can see what we're doing with you. And
- 23:45Speaker 1: I don't even explain to them about how they should
- 23:47Speaker 1: get looked at or anything. I just let them know
- 23:49Speaker 1: this is what we do. And there's just education. I
- 23:51Speaker 1: get plenty of people that say, yeah, but it's not
- 23:53Speaker 1: for me to can. I go, okay, I don't. I
- 23:56Speaker 1: don't try to force it, because eventually I find that
- 24:00Speaker 1: that the majority of those people end up coming in
- 24:01Speaker 1: and they go, I can't take it anymore. Do you
- 24:03Speaker 1: have a solution for me? And I sit down and
- 24:07Speaker 1: educate them, and I go, let's make sure this is
- 24:09Speaker 1: the solution for you. One reason we're doctors is we're
- 24:14Speaker 1: trained to see, if you you know, to get you
- 24:16Speaker 1: to people other than us, if it's necessary and we
- 24:20Speaker 1: help with that. So you know, the way you deal
- 24:23Speaker 1: with that is I find the more you like pester
- 24:26Speaker 1: and hammer people and say you should, you must, you
- 24:29Speaker 1: need to. You know a lot of times that type
- 24:32Speaker 1: of individual they kind of go stop it and they
- 24:35Speaker 1: get more resistant. But I like, I've got a brother
- 24:39Speaker 1: that you know, I just say every year I said,
- 24:41Speaker 1: I'm doing this workshop, it'd be I think you'd get
- 24:44Speaker 1: a lot out of it. If you're ever interested, just
- 24:46Speaker 1: let me know. And he says no to me every year.
- 24:48Speaker 1: But every year I offer it. And I don't offer
- 24:51Speaker 1: it with expectations. I don't offer it saying you need
- 24:53Speaker 1: to do it. I just hey, it's there. If you're
- 24:55Speaker 1: ever ready, I'm going to the chiropractor if you want
- 24:57Speaker 1: to take along today.
- 24:59Speaker 2: That's what I do, and that's how I live my
- 25:01Speaker 2: life because I help people around sobriety and changing the
- 25:08Speaker 2: conversation around that topic. I'm over ten years sober, and
- 25:13Speaker 2: you just lead by example, keep putting the information out
- 25:17Speaker 2: there and when someone's ready to hear it, they'll hear it.
- 25:21Speaker 2: So on that note, we're going to take a quick
- 25:24Speaker 2: moment and share about my book for a second, and
- 25:28Speaker 2: we'll be right back. Are you in the first thirty
- 25:30Speaker 2: days of sobriety or wondering if now is your time
- 25:34Speaker 2: to start?
- 25:35Speaker 3: Hi?
- 25:35Speaker 2: I'm Marcy Hopkins and I wrote wake Up You're Not Broken,
- 25:38Speaker 2: just for you.
- 25:39Speaker 3: It's a real.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Raw guide to those first thirty days, what no one
- 25:44Speaker 2: tells you, what you will feel, and how to keep going.
- 25:47Speaker 2: This isn't about perfection, It's about progress. Or to your
- 25:51Speaker 2: copy now on Amazon. Remember you're not alone, You're not broken,
- 25:57Speaker 2: You're waking up.
- 26:00Speaker 3: Welcome back to Wake Up with Marcy.
- 26:02Speaker 2: We are here with doctor Kyle and we are talking
- 26:05Speaker 2: about chiropractic work and how it really does change our lives.
- 26:11Speaker 2: And I want to just give you a quick story
- 26:13Speaker 2: about myself. I lived with pain in my neck for
- 26:17Speaker 2: well over a year, and I kept going and getting massages,
- 26:21Speaker 2: thinking it was like a muscular thing. And of course,
- 26:24Speaker 2: right after I would have the massage, the pain would
- 26:27Speaker 2: come back. I couldn't sleep well, and I finally acquiesced
- 26:32Speaker 2: and went to a chiropractor and I found out what
- 26:35Speaker 2: was going on, and I went for six weeks and
- 26:39Speaker 2: I haven't had the pain since. So it's I don't
- 26:45Speaker 2: you know, like we were talking about, just like living
- 26:47Speaker 2: with that pain for so long. Like my husband was
- 26:52Speaker 2: floored because he's one that goes to the doctor right away.
- 26:55Speaker 2: I'm someone that just thinks it's going to go away
- 26:59Speaker 2: miraculously one day, you know. So I found out there
- 27:04Speaker 2: was something much more going on, and I was very grateful,
- 27:09Speaker 2: very grateful to have finally acquiesced and got the help
- 27:15Speaker 2: that I needed.
- 27:16Speaker 3: It is life changing and.
- 27:17Speaker 2: I and even through social media now you see just
- 27:22Speaker 2: the help for young people, babies.
- 27:27Speaker 3: Animals, like.
- 27:28Speaker 2: There is a real power when it comes to the
- 27:33Speaker 2: chiropractic work and the information system that goes through the
- 27:39Speaker 2: spine and how it.
- 27:44Speaker 3: Moves and provides information so throughout our bodies.
- 27:50Speaker 2: So you're speaking of movements, You're you're looking and are
- 27:55Speaker 2: leading a powerful movement around rethinking life after forty. Yeah,
- 28:00Speaker 2: and listen, when I hit forty, I thought my life
- 28:04Speaker 2: was over. So I'm fifty six now I know it wasn't.
- 28:10Speaker 2: But tell us what inspired.
- 28:12Speaker 3: That for you?
- 28:13Speaker 1: So the forty over forty is the name of what
- 28:18Speaker 1: the little series we created, and it was it was
- 28:21Speaker 1: this interesting conversation I do a mastermind. My one friend
- 28:26Speaker 1: and the mastermind. We were sitting here chatting one day
- 28:28Speaker 1: He just goes, hey, what's the average age of people
- 28:33Speaker 1: that come into your office patients that come into your
- 28:35Speaker 1: office that do long term care, you know, because usually
- 28:39Speaker 1: you get your younger people. I just want to quick fix.
- 28:41Speaker 1: I want this because what are the people that come
- 28:43Speaker 1: in and say, I really want to change my health.
- 28:47Speaker 1: I really want to, you know, do this and figure
- 28:50Speaker 1: out something I can do in the long term. And
- 28:52Speaker 1: I go, when I thought about it, and we just
- 28:54Speaker 1: kind of looked at some numbers. I said, you know,
- 28:56Speaker 1: probably around forty five to fifty five years old. Those
- 28:58Speaker 1: are the people sort of ready to change. And he says,
- 29:02Speaker 1: so right, you know, you kind of hit a point
- 29:04Speaker 1: where you go great. I mean I have plenty of
- 29:07Speaker 1: individuals that have kind of gone down your journey a
- 29:09Speaker 1: little bit, that started that in their forties. So, you know,
- 29:13Speaker 1: I looked at it. I go, that's really interesting. And
- 29:15Speaker 1: then we had this whole you know, Forbes does at
- 29:18Speaker 1: thirty over thirty, We'll do the forty over forty. I've
- 29:21Speaker 1: already had enough people to say, is that you need
- 29:23Speaker 1: forty tips because it's this much for happening. I go, actually, know,
- 29:26Speaker 1: it's just about you know, I presented forty suggestions after
- 29:32Speaker 1: the age of forty. You know, get your grab bag
- 29:36Speaker 1: out and mix and match which ones are the most
- 29:38Speaker 1: inspiring to you that are going to help empower you
- 29:41Speaker 1: and your health journey after forty and we span span
- 29:45Speaker 1: the whole thing. I don't it's not just physical. It's
- 29:48Speaker 1: it's about your relationships. It's about your your leadership and
- 29:51Speaker 1: your friends groups. It's about your money, it's about your job,
- 29:54Speaker 1: it's about your learning, it's about your relationships spiritually with
- 29:58Speaker 1: the universe and the world. Go we dive into all
- 30:01Speaker 1: these different things because health is such a huge dynamic.
- 30:05Speaker 1: In the old definition, health is a state of wholeness.
- 30:08Speaker 1: It goes way back fifteen hundred years in Old English
- 30:11Speaker 1: and literally the word meant condition of whole being, where
- 30:15Speaker 1: wealth actually then his condition of well being or wellness.
- 30:17Speaker 1: So and wealth is more than money, as I also
- 30:21Speaker 1: teach people. So we came up with that. And you know,
- 30:25Speaker 1: I say, the forty tips is sort of arbitrary because
- 30:28Speaker 1: it works well. But when I started to explore this,
- 30:31Speaker 1: I found that my goodness, because I love Forbes thirty
- 30:36Speaker 1: under thirty and reading about these individuals, but they're the outliers,
- 30:39Speaker 1: they're the unique ones, I said, the over forty is
- 30:42Speaker 1: the average when people arrive. And I started to look,
- 30:45Speaker 1: and I go, who's done great things after forty? And
- 30:47Speaker 1: I want my goodness? The first person that came up
- 30:50Speaker 1: was Mark Twain, and he'd done writing, but he didn't
- 30:54Speaker 1: have you know, Tom Sawyer didn't come out un till
- 30:56Speaker 1: he was in his forties. He didn't have Huck Finn
- 30:58Speaker 1: till he was fifty. He did invents unders until he
- 31:01Speaker 1: was in his late forties, or do most of his
- 31:04Speaker 1: great writings that we know him for until then you go,
- 31:08Speaker 1: my goodness. But one of the quotes that really helped
- 31:12Speaker 1: me was Dante Aligeri from the very opening canto of
- 31:16Speaker 1: the Divine Comedy of the Inferno. In one translation, when
- 31:21Speaker 1: midway through my life's journey, I found myself astray on
- 31:26Speaker 1: a dark road. I'm misquoting it, but you know, I thought,
- 31:29Speaker 1: this man and then I looked him up, and I said,
- 31:31Speaker 1: he started to write that of forty three. It took
- 31:33Speaker 1: him ten years. He finished at fifty three. He's great
- 31:35Speaker 1: his life's work about his journey to sort of find
- 31:38Speaker 1: his spiritual connection and to meet his hero, and created
- 31:43Speaker 1: his master work in Tuscan Italian and which saved the language. Actually,
- 31:49Speaker 1: but the the you know, I go, I go, my goodness,
- 31:54Speaker 1: I mean that was that was seven hundred years ago
- 31:56Speaker 1: he did this. And then I started to look and
- 31:59Speaker 1: I go Sam Samuel L. Jackson, the actor. He didn't
- 32:02Speaker 1: really have his first leading role in Loaded Weapon one
- 32:05Speaker 1: until he was fifty. I mean, you sit there to go,
- 32:09Speaker 1: but it's Sam Jackson. And I started to see that
- 32:14Speaker 1: as I went through business and I went through financial
- 32:17Speaker 1: you know, Warren Buffett was a great investor and he
- 32:19Speaker 1: had his whole patience thing, but ninety nine percent of
- 32:21Speaker 1: his wealth has been made after the age of fifty.
- 32:25Speaker 2: Yeah. So these are all famous people, right, But I
- 32:28Speaker 2: mean I can relate to this exactly. You know, it's
- 32:33Speaker 2: I didn't start my healing journey and growing in all
- 32:38Speaker 2: facets of my life until you know, I was forty five,
- 32:42Speaker 2: and now I do my greatest work and I'm fifty six,
- 32:46Speaker 2: and you know, two books that have come out and
- 32:49Speaker 2: trying to help others in the areas that I've learned
- 32:52Speaker 2: in through my healing journey. And you know, there's a
- 32:56Speaker 2: lot that happens. You know, we've gone through through life
- 33:01Speaker 2: and maybe there's a lot of pain or circumstances we've
- 33:06Speaker 2: gone through, and we get to a certain place in
- 33:09Speaker 2: our life where we make a choice to change and
- 33:15Speaker 2: not just think about ourselves physically, but in all the
- 33:19Speaker 2: pillars that you're speaking of correct and that that's where
- 33:24Speaker 2: you start to create the real change in your life.
- 33:27Speaker 2: So I think it's incredible that you are helping others
- 33:31Speaker 2: to do that, and not in ten years, but in
- 33:35Speaker 2: a shorter amount of time.
- 33:37Speaker 1: Well, and doctor Carl Jung. The quote I had from
- 33:39Speaker 1: doctor Yung was life really does begin at forty. Everything
- 33:42Speaker 1: else is just you know, it's experienced. You're trying to build,
- 33:45Speaker 1: and that's that's where we look back. I have a
- 33:48Speaker 1: great patience. He's just you know, a regular walk of life.
- 33:50Speaker 1: He was a machinist and he came in one day.
- 33:53Speaker 1: He had some circumstances in life and he goes, he goes,
- 33:55Speaker 1: I'm quitting, I'm leaving. I'm going back to school. I go,
- 33:57Speaker 1: what are you going to do? He says, I'm I
- 33:59Speaker 1: want to go in a early Cahood development psychology. And
- 34:01Speaker 1: I go great, And he and his wife talked and
- 34:04Speaker 1: and he you know, now he's now he's a brilliant
- 34:07Speaker 1: licensed grief counselor and and and gone to I'm very
- 34:12Speaker 1: much a friend of mine. And then his wife just
- 34:13Speaker 1: went through the same thing. She was getting laid off,
- 34:15Speaker 1: and they're, you know, their children are about to graduate
- 34:17Speaker 1: high school. And he just said, why why are we
- 34:20Speaker 1: staying here when when we're not getting the gratitude we
- 34:23Speaker 1: want and these are the things we've always loved and
- 34:25Speaker 1: wanted to do. We're going to take a hit here,
- 34:27Speaker 1: but it's it's going to go farther there. And and
- 34:31Speaker 1: I've I've seen that many times, seen people come into
- 34:33Speaker 1: my office and get adjusted and they God, that's been
- 34:36Speaker 1: holding me back for for twenty years. And I think,
- 34:39Speaker 1: now I'm ready to kind of go live my life.
- 34:41Speaker 1: And you know, suddenly their relationship is better. Suddenly they're
- 34:45Speaker 1: they're going to go start their own little startup on
- 34:48Speaker 1: the side. And not just forty. It's you know, I've
- 34:52Speaker 1: seen that in twenty year olds and that, but forty
- 34:54Speaker 1: sort of a majority. And I looked, and I go,
- 34:57Speaker 1: we tend to have life stability of forty. You know,
- 35:01Speaker 1: you tend to kind of know where you're going to
- 35:03Speaker 1: be in your job, your relationships there you sort of
- 35:06Speaker 1: know your your spiritual path, you've learned, you're looking to
- 35:08Speaker 1: learn more. Maybe your finances may be stable, your your
- 35:13Speaker 1: your friends groups you know, you know you're on the
- 35:15Speaker 1: bowling league, or you've got your softball team, or your kids,
- 35:18Speaker 1: you know, all all your friends, your children's friends' parents,
- 35:21Speaker 1: that your groups of. And and he come into my
- 35:24Speaker 1: office because you go, this is the lacking piece. And
- 35:27Speaker 1: then I because I like to educate people, I also
- 35:31Speaker 1: try to inform them that in this piece, when we complete,
- 35:34Speaker 1: it is going to help bring the circle full around
- 35:37Speaker 1: and allow you to finally just you know, I call
- 35:39Speaker 1: it a I call it a springboard. I call it
- 35:41Speaker 1: a stepping stone, not a not a midlife crisis. It's
- 35:44Speaker 1: a midlife you know. It's just it's midway through your
- 35:47Speaker 1: life's journey. Now where do you want the journey to go?
- 35:50Speaker 1: That's that's where people get confused. So I just try
- 35:54Speaker 1: these see where it takes me.
- 35:57Speaker 3: I'll have a little rapid fire with you.
- 35:59Speaker 2: Right Nowtiful, what's one habit that someone can start today?
- 36:04Speaker 1: You breathe? You know the there's no order to my
- 36:09Speaker 1: forty tips, but I start I start them with breathe,
- 36:12Speaker 1: and I sit in there. We breathe all day, but
- 36:15Speaker 1: we don't really think about it. And I tell people,
- 36:18Speaker 1: I go, just take three to five deep abdominal breaths
- 36:21Speaker 1: every day. Do it in the morning, and do it
- 36:22Speaker 1: in the afternoon. Do it when you're angry, do it
- 36:24Speaker 1: when you're in traffic. Just just breathe and focus on
- 36:28Speaker 1: actually breathing through your whole body and just sort of
- 36:31Speaker 1: slowing yourself down and then go back and approach whatever's
- 36:33Speaker 1: going on. That's something most parents know, us with teenagers,
- 36:37Speaker 1: so it's that's that's what.
- 36:40Speaker 3: It's almost crazy.
- 36:41Speaker 2: It calms your nervous system, calms that crazy, right, and.
- 36:45Speaker 1: It calms everybody around you.
- 36:47Speaker 2: Yeah, and you can respond instead of react when you
- 36:50Speaker 2: do take it that pause.
- 36:53Speaker 3: What's one belief people need to let go of?
- 36:56Speaker 1: Well, I wouldn't say there's any one belief you need
- 36:58Speaker 1: to let go of. I would say it would be wise.
- 37:01Speaker 1: One of my tips is look at your belief systems
- 37:04Speaker 1: and see where they come from, and see if they
- 37:06Speaker 1: still serve you, and if they don't, let them go
- 37:11Speaker 1: and see if it's truly your belief or it's somebody
- 37:13Speaker 1: else's or some authorities.
- 37:16Speaker 3: I know we're so programmed right.
- 37:19Speaker 1: We hypnotize ourselves.
- 37:21Speaker 3: What does being aligned actually feel like?
- 37:25Speaker 1: Being aligned? I'm going to use Bruce Lee here. He said,
- 37:29Speaker 1: to be an equilibrium is to be more or less
- 37:31Speaker 1: at rest. So in order to move forward and grow,
- 37:34Speaker 1: we actually have to get out of equilibrium in order
- 37:37Speaker 1: to move. So being aligned, you'll have that moment of
- 37:40Speaker 1: alignment where you go, I'm in, and then you'll go
- 37:44Speaker 1: and now I've got to get out of alignment in
- 37:46Speaker 1: order to move, And then we're going to keep restructuring
- 37:50Speaker 1: this idea, this concept of alignment is you know, to me,
- 37:54Speaker 1: I go, great, you feel like you're focused, you feel
- 37:56Speaker 1: like you're on purpose. Then you're going to doubt yourself,
- 37:58Speaker 1: and then you're going to question. Then you're going to
- 38:00Speaker 1: over here. But it's I would say, as long as
- 38:03Speaker 1: you keep that overarching objective of where you want to go,
- 38:07Speaker 1: let the journey take you there. That's aligned. Aligned is
- 38:10Speaker 1: being able to be misaligned, but not getting so misaligned
- 38:14Speaker 1: that But if you do what you know, like when
- 38:17Speaker 1: people come to me, it's not that they're misaligned and
- 38:19Speaker 1: they're not going to be. They come to me in
- 38:21Speaker 1: my office because they need assistance getting that back towards center,
- 38:24Speaker 1: so it's not quite as out of control.
- 38:27Speaker 3: M right.
- 38:29Speaker 1: There's mental adjustments, there's physical adjustments, there's spiritual adjustments.
- 38:34Speaker 3: Oh, you're making me want to go. I'm sturt over.
- 38:38Speaker 1: I have people fly up here.
- 38:40Speaker 2: So, and what would you say to someone who feels
- 38:44Speaker 2: lost right now?
- 38:46Speaker 1: The first thing I tell you is, I go, take
- 38:48Speaker 1: three deep breaths. You know that you're right here, then
- 38:50Speaker 1: you know where you are. You can never truly be lost.
- 38:54Speaker 1: Take three deep breaths and get present with yourself right
- 38:56Speaker 1: now where you are. And a lot of people look
- 39:00Speaker 1: back and they go, I've been wasting my life, and
- 39:02Speaker 1: I know it's impossible. It's absolutely impossible to waste your life.
- 39:05Speaker 1: Every single thing you've learned, every single challenge you've had,
- 39:09Speaker 1: has been set there to get you to where you
- 39:10Speaker 1: are now. Yeah, you may not know the direction you
- 39:13Speaker 1: want to go, but there's certainly a lot of things
- 39:16Speaker 1: out there. I mean, you can get out and you
- 39:17Speaker 1: can listen to me, you can listen to Mark Victor Hanson,
- 39:19Speaker 1: we can we can read your book Mercy and probably
- 39:21Speaker 1: find some direction there. We've I've got other mentors I've
- 39:24Speaker 1: worked with, and and so the second thing I do,
- 39:27Speaker 1: is I go go sit down with somebody and talk
- 39:29Speaker 1: to them and say I'm not quite sure where I
- 39:31Speaker 1: want to go and have a discussion, don't you know?
- 39:35Speaker 1: I have it back and forth like we're having right now,
- 39:38Speaker 1: and and just and just go go go communicate and
- 39:41Speaker 1: go connect in a very simple way, in a very
- 39:45Speaker 1: healthy way, not in a crazy way. But yeah, that's
- 39:49Speaker 1: a whole other conversation. But I would, but I would say,
- 39:52Speaker 1: go go go find a friend, Go find an individual,
- 39:55Speaker 1: Go find somebody. You can just sit down and go.
- 39:57Speaker 1: You know, here's where I am. Here's all these different things.
- 40:00Speaker 1: Can you look at it from outside for me? Because
- 40:02Speaker 1: I'm too stuck in myself? And do you see any
- 40:05Speaker 1: ideas there that maybe I can follow? That's what a
- 40:07Speaker 1: mastermind really was.
- 40:09Speaker 3: Mmmm yeah.
- 40:12Speaker 1: Don't You don't have to have a table full of
- 40:13Speaker 1: business leaders to mastermind with. You can have your partner,
- 40:17Speaker 1: you can have your best friend, you can have your
- 40:19Speaker 1: dog won't give you much info, but.
- 40:23Speaker 3: Well, but you shore you will fill the love your dog.
- 40:27Speaker 1: Your dog will love you unconditionally, and so your cat.
- 40:31Speaker 1: Your cat won't admit it, but your cat will do. So.
- 40:35Speaker 2: To wrap it up, one one question people should start
- 40:39Speaker 2: asking themselves today.
- 40:41Speaker 1: Where do I feel I've been off on my journey
- 40:45Speaker 1: and how has it actually helped me on my journey?
- 40:48Speaker 2: M hm.
- 40:51Speaker 3: And that's a hard one.
- 40:52Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, I think about so many things that
- 40:56Speaker 2: have happened in my life and I've learned to be
- 41:00Speaker 2: grateful for them at this point and realize that they
- 41:04Speaker 2: are things that helped me to get to the place
- 41:08Speaker 2: I'm at, and there are things that it helped me
- 41:11Speaker 2: and they don't define me anymore, but they helped me
- 41:16Speaker 2: to get to where I am today.
- 41:18Speaker 1: Right, the lessons you've learned, Yeah, what was the old
- 41:21Speaker 1: thing they used to have, the rules for being human
- 41:24Speaker 1: that went around and said life will continue to get
- 41:26Speaker 1: It'll give you the same lesson until you learn it,
- 41:27Speaker 1: and then you'll get into lessons. And there's no end to.
- 41:30Speaker 2: Lessons, right, there's no end to lessons, and my goodness,
- 41:35Speaker 2: when it hits you and you finally learn them, ooh,
- 41:38Speaker 2: it's life changing.
- 41:39Speaker 1: And then that you wait for the next lesson.
- 41:43Speaker 3: Always a lesson.
- 41:44Speaker 2: Always you know life is going to happen, right, but
- 41:47Speaker 2: it's just how we get through it and learning to
- 41:49Speaker 2: get through it and see it a different way.
