- Adam Rutz: One of the biggest mistakes we make when we're chasing greatness is spending too much time thinking about outcomes that we can't control today. Maybe it's winning the championship, hitting the revenue goal, reaching a certain number on the scale, becoming the person you know you're capable of becoming. Those are all great goals. But the problem is outcomes are usually delayed. You probably can't win your championship today. You're probably not going to hit your annual revenue goal today. And you're not going to completely transform your life today. But you can win today. And that's where your process comes in. Ask yourself this question: What would a successful day actually look like for me? Not based on a scoreboard. Not based on whether someone says yes or no. Not based on whether you win the game, close the deal, or everything goes perfectly. What are three to five behaviors completely within your control that would allow you to say, I won today? Maybe you're an athlete. Your winning day might be completing your workout, getting extra reps in, eating correctly, recovering, and getting to bed on time. Maybe you're building a business. Your winning day might be making your calls, following up with your prospects, coaching your team, completing your highest priority work, and then being present with your family when you get home. Maybe you're a parent. Your winning day might mean putting the phone down, being patient, spending intentional time with your kids, exercising, and keeping one promise you made to yourself. The behaviors will be different for everybody, but the principle stays the same. So stop judging every day by the outcome of it. Start judging it by your execution. Because when you stack enough winning days together, The outcomes usually start taking care of themselves. So today, write down three to five things that make today a win. Make them controllable, make them measurable, and then go execute them. Go win the day that you're actually living. Mindset, process, discipline, execution. That's mental performance daily.
