  Speaker 1: call Christology. Christology is the study of the man Jesus Christ.

  Speaker 1: Alongside the whole activity up until his resurrection, his ascension,

  Speaker 3: Then we have what we call ecclesiology.

  Speaker 1: Christ has done. So there are three aspects of theology

  Speaker 1: kinds of statements. Number one is Christology. You have to

  Speaker 1: of man Am, and they started saying, you are one

  Speaker 1: of the prophets, and so on and so forth.

  Speaker 1: That I am? And all of them kept quiet except Peter.

  Speaker 1: Peter said, I know who thou art? Thou at Christ?

  Speaker 1: examine a few things. Number One, the entire discussion started
• 9:48
  Speaker 1: with an issue of perception and revelation.

  Speaker 1: The entire discussion started with an issue of their perception

  Speaker 1: and their revelation. Jesus was probing into their perception and

  Speaker 1: their revelation.

  Speaker 3: Who do men say, what do they see me as?

  Speaker 1: What is their idea of me based on my background,

  Speaker 1: based on the antecedents around my life, based on the

  Speaker 1: miracles they've seen. What is their perception and what is

  Speaker 1: their revelation of me? This is the first thing that

  Speaker 1: we capture in this scripture. The second thing that we
• 10:29
  Speaker 1: capture in this scripture is that Peter spoke by revelation.

  Speaker 1: The Bible does not leave us in the dark as
• 10:39
  Speaker 1: to the fact that Peter was not speaking sensually. Peter's
• 10:43
  Speaker 1: response was not an issue of intelligence. Peter's response was
• 10:47
  Speaker 1: not an issue of experience. Peter's response was an issue
• 10:51
  Speaker 1: of revelation. He says, I know who thou art. Then
• 10:57
  Speaker 1: the third thing we find out in this scripture is

  Speaker 1: Peter's answer, don't forget what we're discussing. Number one was

  Speaker 1: an issue of perception and revelation. Number two that the
• 11:10
  Speaker 1: answer that Peter god was outsourced from a realm higher
• 11:13
  Speaker 1: than this dimension. His answer did not come using brain work.

  Speaker 1: He says, I know who thou art? Are we together?
• 11:20
  Speaker 1: And now the answer is what is very important. He says,

  Speaker 1: thou art the Christ. Thou art the Christ, command.

  Speaker 3: Son of the Living God. This is Peter's answer.

  Speaker 1: So Peter is attempting that question, who do men say

  Speaker 1: that I am?

  Speaker 3: Who do you say that I am? And he says,

  Speaker 1: Who you are. It has been given to me by revelation,

  Speaker 1: thou at Christ, the son of the Living God. The

  Speaker 1: third thing we observe from this scripture was the response

  Speaker 1: of Jesus. Notice in respants to that answer, Jesus first
• 12:01
  Speaker 1: blessed him. He says, you are blessed. In other words,

  Speaker 1: you have truly been empowered. I see the evidence of
• 12:11
  Speaker 1: an external empowerment upon you. He says, you are blessed
• 12:15
  Speaker 1: because you have received this revelation from my Father. We

  Speaker 1: is in heaven. That means it is impossible for you,
• 12:23
  Speaker 1: even though you are human.

  Speaker 3: This kind of result does not come from humans.

  Speaker 1: Your speaking reveals to me that you have aligned yourself
• 12:33
  Speaker 1: with the Father, and that your communication is not of yourself.

  Speaker 3: Are we together? And then he says he blesses.

  Speaker 1: Him for receiving it, for rising above and beyond the
• 12:45
  Speaker 1: realm of flesh and blood, because he said flesh and
• 12:49
  Speaker 1: blood has not revealed this. That means to understand Jesus

  Speaker 1: as the Christ, you must rise beyond the realm of
• 12:56
  Speaker 1: flesh and blood. Are we together? And then Jesus now

  Speaker 1: makes a very profound statement. That's the next thing we

  Speaker 1: observe from that scripture, very profound scapement. Please give it

  Speaker 1: to us Matthew sixteen now and verse eighteen. And I

  Speaker 1: shall not prevail against it. Please keep this scripture. Let's

  Speaker 1: examine for a minute or two. The implication of Jesus's

  Speaker 1: statement here There has been an age long confusion as

  Speaker 1: to what Jesus meant by the rock. Other people would
• 13:54
  Speaker 1: say it is Peter because it comes from the name

  Speaker 1: Petros or Peta, which means a rock, hallelujah, and other
• 14:01
  Speaker 1: people who have said the rock means Jesus himself. He said,
• 14:06
  Speaker 1: down at Peter and upon this rock, I will build
• 14:09
  Speaker 1: my church. Let's observe a few things from that statement.

  Speaker 1: Number one is that Jesus makes a non mistaken exclusive
• 14:17
  Speaker 1: ownership of the church. He calls it my church. This
• 14:23
  Speaker 1: is a revelation that every believer must understand. He didn't
• 14:27
  Speaker 1: say our church. I will build my church. I will
• 14:34
  Speaker 1: build my church. The second thing I want you to
• 14:38
  Speaker 1: observe from that statement is he said he will build
• 14:43
  Speaker 1: only one church. He never said I will build churches.
• 14:48
  Speaker 1: I will build my church. Pay attention to what Jesus
• 14:54
  Speaker 1: is saying now, I will build my church. So the
• 14:58
  Speaker 1: implication of Jesus's statement is not Number one, whatever you
• 15:01
  Speaker 1: see me build is my own. That means don't even
• 15:04
  Speaker 1: make an attempt to claim ownership.

  Speaker 3: It is my church. Are we together?

  Speaker 1: And then number two, he's saying it is a church.

  Speaker 1: He's not building churches. That means, in God's mind and
• 15:17
  Speaker 1: in God's idea, there are no churches. There is one

  Speaker 1: Catholic church or no church. You are part of that
• 15:24
  Speaker 1: church or you are not. It's as simple as that.

  Speaker 3: Are we together.

  Speaker 1: The next statement from Jesus that we need to learn

  Speaker 1: is that the church will be built. It will not appear.

  Speaker 1: I will build, very very definite statement. I will build

  Speaker 1: Jesus himself. It didn't say the church will manifest. It

  Speaker 1: didn't say the church will appear. He says I will build.

  Speaker 1: What does it mean to build? To build means to form,

  Speaker 1: to construct, and to make a structure by bringing together
• 15:59
  Speaker 1: many paths are ranged in an orderly way.

  Speaker 3: That's what it means to build. For you to build

  Speaker 3: the thing, you must outsource.

  Speaker 1: The materials from various areas and various elements to build.

  Speaker 1: So you need to understand what is in the mind

  Speaker 1: of Jesus when he talks about building the church.

  Speaker 1: a lot of things. There are times you will live

  Speaker 1: to be so formidable the gates of Hell shall not

  Speaker 1: prevail against it. Now, very straight to the point, what

  Speaker 1: is this rock? Please go back to okay, verse eighteen.

  Speaker 1: Now what is this rock that Jesus Christ was talking about?

  Speaker 1: Because it matters now that we are secured about the building,

  Speaker 1: Because He's the one building it. So we have no fear,

  Speaker 1: no markter what the devil does. We trust the formidability

  Speaker 1: of the not because of the materials, but because of

  Speaker 1: the excellence of the builder. When God builds, it turns.

  Speaker 1: He builds the earth. Kings have come and gone, the

  Speaker 3: But the question now is the rock upon which it

  Speaker 1: Because it is important the emphasis here is what it

  Speaker 1: is built upon. He says, upon this rock I will

  Speaker 1: build my church. That means as powerful as the building is,

  Speaker 1: if you do not understand what that rock is, it

  Speaker 1: can affect the structure even though the biller did a

  Speaker 1: good job. And you see in interpreting scripture there is

  Speaker 1: no point making assumption. The spirit of revelation functions by comparing.

  Speaker 1: Just assume that Jesus was talking about himself or was
