- 0:04Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Hello, Big Blue Nation, Welcome to Just the Cats. My
- 0:26Speaker 2: name is Michael Bennett on this Friday seventeenth, and we're
- 0:34Speaker 2: coming to you live from Eagle Creek Golf Course in Lagrange, Kentucky.
- 0:38Speaker 2: If you've never been to as I like to say,
- 0:41Speaker 2: log Range by the way, Justin, Oh, good morning, Justin.
- 0:45Speaker 2: It's first time we've seen each other. And how on.
- 0:47Speaker 3: That's what I was telling. I was telling Pam Stalling,
- 0:50Speaker 3: who graciously got us out here this morning. Before you
- 0:54Speaker 3: got here, She's like, where.
- 0:55Speaker 2: You go on, nobody knows. I shouldn't say that.
- 0:58Speaker 3: There's everyone knows.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:01Speaker 3: If you don't know, then you should know. Yes, you're
- 1:04Speaker 3: self familiarized, okay. I was telling her before we came on.
- 1:08Speaker 3: She was like, I haven't seen Michael beIN in forever,
- 1:09Speaker 3: and I was like, I haven't either. So we have
- 1:12Speaker 3: that in comment.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Well, we've seen each other through the computer. That's about it. Yeah,
- 1:16Speaker 2: that sounds kind of creepy, but we're not computer dating.
- 1:19Speaker 2: We're just seeing because that's it's the weirdest set up
- 1:22Speaker 2: in the world. I mean, even when we're together in
- 1:25Speaker 2: the same building. We're not together. Correct If people think
- 1:28Speaker 2: we're in the same room or something, we're not. We're
- 1:30Speaker 2: in two completely different rooms looking at each other through
- 1:33Speaker 2: a computer screen, which has always bothered me. There needs
- 1:36Speaker 2: to be a window, there needs to be something. We
- 1:38Speaker 2: should just set it up in the studio to where
- 1:41Speaker 2: I'm in the same room as you producing the show.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Bring in some construction stuff, and we'll make it happen.
- 1:46Speaker 2: No, we could do it. We could just set up
- 1:48Speaker 2: another mic there in the same room, couldn't.
- 1:50Speaker 3: We We could, but that room's not all that big.
- 1:53Speaker 3: I don't care little cluttered in there.
- 1:56Speaker 2: So and and your point is what you just don't
- 1:59Speaker 2: want me in there, that's what you're saying.
- 2:00Speaker 3: I like the privacy of having.
- 2:03Speaker 2: I haven't seen you live in one a month and
- 2:05Speaker 2: a half, two months at least. Yeah, I missed you.
- 2:09Speaker 3: At least good to see you.
- 2:11Speaker 2: I love the hat your sporting right there by the way,
- 2:13Speaker 2: So yeah, you look good.
- 2:15Speaker 3: We got some races this weekend.
- 2:17Speaker 2: No, we do not have any races this weekend.
- 2:20Speaker 3: Is that next weekend.
- 2:21Speaker 2: I'll find out probably Monday or Tuesday, if we'll have
- 2:26Speaker 2: our first one. That's going to be an erace at
- 2:29Speaker 2: Ellis Park. Uh, potentially a week from Sunday, the one
- 2:33Speaker 2: that was going to race in Saratoga. Unfortunately, he is
- 2:36Speaker 2: headed to the farm. She has a little bit of
- 2:39Speaker 2: a fracture in her knee that's coming on, not a
- 2:42Speaker 2: complete fracture, doesn't need surgery or anything like that, but uh,
- 2:45Speaker 2: that's kind of coming. By the way, Let's talk about
- 2:48Speaker 2: log Range, Kentucky, because uh, this is a special place
- 2:51Speaker 2: for me, and I'll tell you it's me uncomfortable say that.
- 2:55Speaker 2: You don't like saying log Range. You know what, we
- 2:58Speaker 2: need to play a little Grange by zz Top.
- 3:01Speaker 3: That's a good call.
- 3:01Speaker 2: It is a good call. So, uh, you know, rumors
- 3:05Speaker 2: heading around for that Kentucky town, not Texas town. But uh,
- 3:09Speaker 2: my youngest son was born in Lagrange, Kentucky. Okay, yeah,
- 3:14Speaker 2: at the hospital right over here. I almost missed it.
- 3:17Speaker 2: I got hungry that day and I went down to
- 3:20Speaker 2: have a little food at my favorite. Oh. I shouldn't
- 3:22Speaker 2: say that right now, because you know we're next to
- 3:24Speaker 2: saucer he is. But I went to Taco Bell. What
- 3:28Speaker 2: do you mean it's delicious? I love that actually yesterday,
- 3:31Speaker 2: Oh did you really? I love that place? I know
- 3:34Speaker 2: it's artificial meat. But I still go there, and I
- 3:37Speaker 2: was so proud of myself because back then, you could
- 3:40Speaker 2: not get the taco sauce unless you took the packages
- 3:44Speaker 2: from the restaurant. And I took the entire uh entire
- 3:49Speaker 2: bag and filled it with taco sauce, which one mild.
- 3:53Speaker 2: I'm a mile, Yeah I am. I love hot stuff,
- 3:56Speaker 2: but I took a mile.
- 3:57Speaker 3: You know, I'm the opposite. I don't love hut you don't.
- 4:00Speaker 3: But when I go there, I am very much a
- 4:02Speaker 3: fire guy. You are really give me the fire.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Okay. Yeah. But but when I got back, I was
- 4:08Speaker 2: ready to brag to my wife. She's like, where have
- 4:10Speaker 2: you freaking been? I'm having the baby right now. I
- 4:13Speaker 2: almost miss Mason Bennett being born because I was at
- 4:16Speaker 2: Taco Bell. But yeah, so Taco Bell in Lagrange, Kentucky.
- 4:21Speaker 2: He lives in infamy because of that right there in
- 4:23Speaker 2: the Bennett House. I love it. Yes, yeah, So anyway,
- 4:26Speaker 2: any other thing that you messed up in your marriage
- 4:29Speaker 2: that you want to talk about, Oh, are we doing? Uh?
- 4:33Speaker 2: Are you becoming my psychologist or my therapist?
- 4:36Speaker 3: They make a lot of money, right, No, listen.
- 4:39Speaker 2: I screw up all the time in my marriage. My wife,
- 4:41Speaker 2: she's a saint. She never screws up, but she the
- 4:44Speaker 2: only thing she does wrong is tolerate me. So how's that?
- 4:47Speaker 2: But listen, I remember when we were talking about how
- 4:51Speaker 2: I go to ice cream shops and you if you
- 4:54Speaker 2: treat the person nice, they'll give you a bigger scoop
- 4:56Speaker 2: or so. Yesterday, I will not say the name of
- 5:00Speaker 2: the coffee place, but I went to a coffee place
- 5:03Speaker 2: yesterday and I'm cutting up with a young lady that's
- 5:06Speaker 2: taking my order, and I'm looking at her and says,
- 5:08Speaker 2: come on, give me a discout, give me something that
- 5:12Speaker 2: you know. Just pretend I'm your boyfriend. And she goes,
- 5:16Speaker 2: is it your birthday? I said no, she goes, today
- 5:18Speaker 2: is your birthday? Yeah?
- 5:19Speaker 3: You always say it's your birthday, Michael.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Is that I've never known that.
- 5:23Speaker 3: I Actually I have a friend who, regardless of what
- 5:27Speaker 3: time of year it is, if we go to a
- 5:28Speaker 3: Mexican restaurant, she always tells the that it's somebody at
- 5:33Speaker 3: our table's birthday every time.
- 5:34Speaker 2: And what happens when it's.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Depends where we are. I mean, we've gotten there's one
- 5:40Speaker 3: place that we go to some somewhat frequently where they
- 5:42Speaker 3: will take whipped cream and put it like in a pie,
- 5:47Speaker 3: and they will just sneak up behind you. You know,
- 5:49Speaker 3: they'll put they'll put a shot at tequila in front
- 5:52Speaker 3: of you first to distract you, and then somebody's behind
- 5:56Speaker 3: you with this whipped cream pie and they'll just shove
- 5:58Speaker 3: it in your face, not to know.
- 6:00Speaker 2: That's I don't like that, And I'm not putting on
- 6:03Speaker 2: a sombrero either. I don't like it when they come
- 6:05Speaker 2: put on some dirty sombrero that Oh I love the
- 6:08Speaker 2: nobreta what kind of dandriff or other disease on it?
- 6:11Speaker 2: And I don't like that. I don't like being sung to.
- 6:14Speaker 2: But she gave it's a bad take. So she gave
- 6:16Speaker 2: me a birthday yesterday and I got a free cup
- 6:19Speaker 2: of coffee, thank you. It was a large uh what
- 6:22Speaker 2: I like vanilla la te Thank you. Yeah. I was happy.
- 6:26Speaker 2: So that's that is why you treat people nice all.
- 6:29Speaker 3: I love that for you.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I loved it as well. I was very happy
- 6:32Speaker 2: about it. Anytime. You know, it's a I'd always said,
- 6:36Speaker 2: because people would ask him, why are you always trying
- 6:38Speaker 2: to get something out of people? It was it's a game.
- 6:41Speaker 2: It's just yes, I can afford it, but it's just
- 6:43Speaker 2: kind of fun. I enjoy that. So uh anyway, but
- 6:47Speaker 2: that that's where we are. So today, if you want
- 6:49Speaker 2: to come out and say hello, you got about two
- 6:51Speaker 2: hours to less than two hours now, because as soon
- 6:53Speaker 2: as we're done here today, I'm taking off. Oh you do.
- 6:57Speaker 2: But I would love it if somebody came out here
- 6:58Speaker 2: and said hello.
- 6:59Speaker 3: To I would love So. I met a guy here
- 7:01Speaker 3: this morning. Unfortunately I have to I do have to
- 7:05Speaker 3: run once we're done, yeah, because I got to be
- 7:08Speaker 3: back at studio at eleven. But he's shooting a cannon
- 7:12Speaker 3: on one of these holes. Have you ever done that
- 7:14Speaker 3: in a golf so they it's like this gun and
- 7:18Speaker 3: he puts pressure in it, you throw a golf ball
- 7:20Speaker 3: in it, and you shoot it. That's all which we've
- 7:23Speaker 3: done it and the scramble played in last weekend. We
- 7:26Speaker 3: do it every year. They've got a cannon at that one.
- 7:28Speaker 3: But yeah, so I was talking to him this morning.
- 7:30Speaker 3: He was like, yeah, come out and shoot the cannon.
- 7:32Speaker 3: I'll take a picture of you. And I was like, seriously,
- 7:37Speaker 3: to shoot the cannon? Yeah, with a golf ball in it? Correct?
- 7:40Speaker 2: Now are you shooting it towards the green.
- 7:43Speaker 3: So that the goal the scramble that we do in Cincinnati,
- 7:46Speaker 3: if we use it on a par five, that's that's
- 7:49Speaker 3: where they do it. So it leaves you like ninety
- 7:51Speaker 3: yards out from the green, which is always awesome. Yeah,
- 7:53Speaker 3: he's doing it on a par four, which will get
- 7:56Speaker 3: you on the green. And he said it would be
- 7:58Speaker 3: about ten foot for an eagle putt. But he said,
- 8:00Speaker 3: a couple of weekends ago he made a hole in one.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Are you serious now? The all right, you're a hole
- 8:06Speaker 2: in one. You said you didn't want to count if
- 8:08Speaker 2: you're not playing all the eighth correct? Do you think
- 8:11Speaker 2: that is a hole in one shooting it from a cannon? No, no,
- 8:14Speaker 2: it's not. No, yeah, sorry.
- 8:16Speaker 3: No, but it is cool. I asked him. I was like,
- 8:18Speaker 3: you ever had a hole in one? He's like, actually,
- 8:20Speaker 3: a couple of weeks ago, he said, the group didn't
- 8:22Speaker 3: even realize that it went in, and they could only
- 8:25Speaker 3: find three balls when they got up to the green.
- 8:27Speaker 3: So the one guy was like, oh, I guess it's
- 8:30Speaker 3: lost or whatever. So they proceed to putt one of
- 8:32Speaker 3: the other balls, get it in the hole. Next thing
- 8:35Speaker 3: you know, there's two balls in the hole. So that's
- 8:38Speaker 3: how they found out that they got a hold.
- 8:40Speaker 2: They counted as a hole in one. Yeah they should have.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Yeah, that counts.
- 8:44Speaker 4: Wow.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Good for Yeah.
- 8:45Speaker 3: If I were to do that, if it was me
- 8:47Speaker 3: personally shooting the gun, I wouldn't count that.
- 8:50Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, that's but as as far as the
- 8:53Speaker 2: tournament and the team, yeah you count that as a one. Yeah,
- 8:56Speaker 2: no doubt. Okay, good well, I uh, we're out here
- 8:59Speaker 2: as a part of of it's the Saint Matthew's Chamber
- 9:02Speaker 2: of Commerce. Is that correct? Yeah? As we have some
- 9:05Speaker 2: random guy walk by, what wait, you come by and
- 9:08Speaker 2: hear and you touch me? You need to say hello?
- 9:10Speaker 2: Who is your name? As we Oh?
- 9:13Speaker 5: I like that?
- 9:14Speaker 2: Now wait a minute, this is my kind of hey. Yeah,
- 9:18Speaker 2: my gosh, hold on, now what is your name? Sir? Jonathan?
- 9:22Speaker 2: Jonathan beats and and uh are what are you doing
- 9:25Speaker 2: out here at this golf tournament.
- 9:27Speaker 3: I'm trying to win. That's what you're supposed to do
- 9:29Speaker 3: to golf. You're off to a good start. Ultra in
- 9:32Speaker 3: the hand already, like yeah, I like it?
- 9:36Speaker 2: Swing juice. What is this? This is michelob Ultra and
- 9:40Speaker 2: you are it's hold on, sir, and it's okay, thank
- 9:44Speaker 2: you there. I appreciate that. Uh Alan Jackson did that song,
- 9:48Speaker 2: so with it with another guy that I kind of know,
- 9:50Speaker 2: Jimmy Buffett. You saw who in concert?
- 9:55Speaker 3: Oh you did?
- 9:55Speaker 2: Where did you see Jimmy? But a few years ago
- 9:58Speaker 2: up at Riverfront?
- 9:59Speaker 6: Yes?
- 9:59Speaker 2: Not River Bend? Yeah, whichever one. I was drunk for it. Man,
- 10:05Speaker 2: we talk about this. You're my kind of guy. Right now.
- 10:09Speaker 2: I just want you to know, I promise a bunch
- 10:12Speaker 2: of who I don't know if this is a good idea.
- 10:18Speaker 2: And now please explain to me what kind of business
- 10:21Speaker 2: you're in. What are you doing out here with Saint
- 10:22Speaker 2: Matthew Chamber of Commerce?
- 10:24Speaker 3: What's funny?
- 10:24Speaker 7: As I came last year because a friend of mine
- 10:26Speaker 7: was a real estate agent at the time and I
- 10:29Speaker 7: just do remodel work in industrial installs. So she was like, dude,
- 10:33Speaker 7: come on here and just play. This is a lot
- 10:34Speaker 7: of fun. I was like, well, you know, I got
- 10:36Speaker 7: the superintendents scramble at Neville Meat and I'll see if
- 10:40Speaker 7: I can fit it in. And then last year I
- 10:41Speaker 7: had so much fun here. I was like, man, I'm
- 10:43Speaker 7: coming back next year. She's like, we love to have
- 10:44Speaker 7: you so I'm back again.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Well, congratulations, and did you play well last year or
- 10:48Speaker 2: do you even remember?
- 10:49Speaker 7: We played pretty well?
- 10:51Speaker 2: I think so is the goal to remember playing eighteen?
- 10:54Speaker 2: Or not? No? No, not at all? What are you
- 10:57Speaker 2: talking about? Come on, well, it's good, haven't you hear?
- 11:00Speaker 2: Very nice meeting? You're not seriously, you don't even want
- 11:06Speaker 2: to plug your business? My goodness.
- 11:08Speaker 7: If you want, if you're gonna get married, go to
- 11:11Speaker 7: my wife's company. It's called Micheless Events. It's in Middletown,
- 11:15Speaker 7: defining a new men's health how ed works for you.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Your wife's business is what now I'll promote it.
- 11:26Speaker 7: It's called Micheless Events. They're a catering company as well.
- 11:30Speaker 7: They're over in Middletown. Offer and your.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Wife is Michelle. Is that right? No, your wife's business
- 11:37Speaker 2: is named after someone else. It's like spelled Michael Is.
- 11:42Speaker 2: It's just the weird. Let's just leave it as Michael. Okay,
- 11:45Speaker 2: So you know I like Michael. Michael is a different store.
- 11:48Speaker 2: You can't do that. I'm a different story.
- 11:51Speaker 7: Yes, Michael is a different is a different store, Michaels,
- 11:56Speaker 7: This is Micheless.
- 11:58Speaker 2: All right, we're going with Michelle. Okay, if you listen
- 12:01Speaker 2: to my show, you know my pronunciation really sucked. But
- 12:04Speaker 2: you're handsome. I am you want to sit here with
- 12:08Speaker 2: Justin because I'm liking you more and nobody cares you.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Drink more of that and you'll never know that you
- 12:14Speaker 2: didn't play good Heaven here, nice meeting you. You know.
- 12:20Speaker 2: That's kind of the random stuff that I enjoy about this.
- 12:23Speaker 2: When we go to the other side at Churchill Downs,
- 12:26Speaker 2: it's probably my favorite time of year because you never
- 12:29Speaker 2: know who's going to come on. My wife was even
- 12:31Speaker 2: saying the other day that she know she reluctantly came
- 12:34Speaker 2: on our show for a few minutes and when you
- 12:37Speaker 2: say her last name, she goes, Patricia. What's your last name, ma'am?
- 12:41Speaker 2: Patricia bought it is that that's that's your last name,
- 12:44Speaker 2: that's your maiden name. You gave that name up your solo.
- 12:47Speaker 3: This is our first morning remote outside of the backside,
- 12:50Speaker 3: right it is.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Yeah, it's fun. I know we need to do more
- 12:54Speaker 2: of this. We need to do more where we come
- 12:56Speaker 2: out to some random place and and promote your business.
- 13:00Speaker 3: It's just funny that you brought it up on Wednesday.
- 13:02Speaker 3: I want to go out on remote and then this
- 13:05Speaker 3: one all came together on Wednesday afternoon, so you asking
- 13:08Speaker 3: you shaller see me.
- 13:09Speaker 2: I know we need more of it. We should do
- 13:11Speaker 2: one at least once a week. By the way, it
- 13:13Speaker 2: would make me happy.
- 13:14Speaker 3: By the way, how long did it take you to
- 13:16Speaker 3: get here this morning? That's the nice? Was it quicker
- 13:19Speaker 3: than the studio?
- 13:20Speaker 2: Fifteen minutes? Yeah? Coming from Prospect, all I had to
- 13:23Speaker 2: do was go down cover Bridge Road or three twenty nine,
- 13:26Speaker 2: get on seventy one and boom, I'm here. It's like,
- 13:28Speaker 2: this was nice, and of course it's it's it is
- 13:32Speaker 2: absolutely beautiful and I love doing a show when you
- 13:37Speaker 2: got an absolutely beautiful golf course in front of us.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Hopefully we'll get arrangements to have a little Mexican a
- 13:44Speaker 2: little later from a place called Salsaitas. I don't know,
- 13:47Speaker 2: but nothing like a morning taco, so I'm good with that.
- 13:52Speaker 2: But and we'll have Pam Stallings join us as well.
- 13:55Speaker 2: But anyway, or they're they're catering person that here with
- 14:00Speaker 2: her as well. So Isabella, Yeah, what's that? Isabella? Isabelle? Isabelle, Isabella.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Oh did you hear that? She goes bell.
- 14:12Speaker 3: Man?
- 14:13Speaker 2: That's what justin when you're not married and you're single,
- 14:16Speaker 2: you have to learn single ladies. You get the name right.
- 14:21Speaker 2: I can get away with it because you know she
- 14:23Speaker 2: looks at me and think, oh, get away, creepy old man.
- 14:26Speaker 2: But no, you have to get that already screwed up.
- 14:31Speaker 2: So uh anyway, all right, a couple of things I
- 14:34Speaker 2: do on a few things I do want to talk
- 14:36Speaker 2: about today.
- 14:37Speaker 6: Uh.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Number one, Uh, you said we're talking politics. It's like, no,
- 14:41Speaker 2: we're not talking politics. But this person happens to be
- 14:44Speaker 2: the governor of Kentucky. Yes, but man, he is after
- 14:50Speaker 2: Mitch Barnhardt.
- 14:52Speaker 3: For what reason? Like what what beef could there possibly be?
- 14:55Speaker 2: Well, remember he didn't like and he was commenting about
- 14:59Speaker 2: not liking the retirement program that the universe of Kentucky
- 15:04Speaker 2: was giving him. And now come to find out that
- 15:10Speaker 2: private funding has been raised to give Mitch Barnhardt three
- 15:16Speaker 2: million dollars and Andy Basher is still criticizing and saying, listen,
- 15:24Speaker 2: that's money that could have been otherwise used for students,
- 15:30Speaker 2: paying faculty, or use for research that could cure the
- 15:35Speaker 2: next disease. Those are all comments from Andy basheer. Do
- 15:40Speaker 2: you like that? Andy Basheer is criticizing all over again
- 15:45Speaker 2: Mitch Barnhardt, or do you think Andy needs to stay
- 15:49Speaker 2: out of this UK made this decision and if they
- 15:53Speaker 2: want to take private funds outside of the University of
- 15:55Speaker 2: Kentucky and give it to Mitch barn Barnhart as a
- 15:58Speaker 2: part of his retirement, Andy needs to stay in his lane.
- 16:02Speaker 3: And he needs to stay in his life. Really absolutely,
- 16:05Speaker 3: because we've already been through this whole song and dance, right,
- 16:08Speaker 3: He's already criticized Mitch Barnhart and things changed because of
- 16:12Speaker 3: his last criticisms. I don't think they're gonna change here.
- 16:15Speaker 3: And honestly, we're at the point with all this. Who
- 16:19Speaker 3: freaking cares if Kentucky wants to drum up some money
- 16:22Speaker 3: to give Mitch Barnhart three million dollars on his way
- 16:25Speaker 3: out the door. I don't know why that concerns Andy
- 16:28Speaker 3: Bisheer at all. If they raised three million just like
- 16:31Speaker 3: that to give to Mitch Barnhardt, who's to say they
- 16:34Speaker 3: can't do it again, to give to the next disease
- 16:37Speaker 3: curing and all that.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Well, because of the fact that I think a lot
- 16:40Speaker 2: of people would argue, because of the fact that they've
- 16:43Speaker 2: had to lay off quite a few people at the university,
- 16:46Speaker 2: and here we are raising money that could have been
- 16:49Speaker 2: used for those people. Instead of laying them off, they
- 16:51Speaker 2: could have stayed and kept their job at the UK.
- 16:53Speaker 2: So that's been the criticism right there. I go both ways.
- 16:57Speaker 2: I let me rephrase that, I look at it and
- 17:01Speaker 2: I have an opinion on both sides. Number one, I
- 17:04Speaker 2: agree with Andy Bashir one of the few times that
- 17:08Speaker 2: I would ever do that. But but but here's the problem. Though,
- 17:12Speaker 2: it's too little, too late. It's like it's already happened,
- 17:16Speaker 2: the money's gone. Why are we still talking about this?
- 17:19Speaker 2: That's where I come from. And it's just like it
- 17:21Speaker 2: doesn't make any sense to continue to complain about it.
- 17:25Speaker 2: It's what's what's what is it? What's done is done? Dad,
- 17:29Speaker 2: just right as a check for twenty five thousand dollars.
- 17:31Speaker 3: They're just I mean, there has to be other issues
- 17:33Speaker 3: within the state that are more pressing than this.
- 17:36Speaker 2: That's you. Mitch Barnhart could throw it right back to
- 17:39Speaker 2: Andy's like you're worried about me. And we got companies
- 17:41Speaker 2: leaving the state of Kentucky, and and we get people
- 17:44Speaker 2: that are out of jobs and you're worried about my
- 17:46Speaker 2: measley little three million dollars. I mean, that's what Mitch Barner.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Credit Mitch Barnhart for not responding. I mean, he hasn't
- 17:53Speaker 2: said one who to back to him? Now?
- 17:55Speaker 3: Why would he?
- 17:57Speaker 2: Why would he? He takes the money in run.
- 17:59Speaker 3: If you're a tire, I wouldn't say anything either, Right.
- 18:02Speaker 2: I just get out of town till everything dies down again.
- 18:05Speaker 2: But I still think that he should not get the
- 18:08Speaker 2: ten tickets for life. So for foot or was it
- 18:12Speaker 2: ten or twenty? Ten's a little egregious, but should get some.
- 18:18Speaker 2: He should get two, four so he could take guests,
- 18:23Speaker 2: but not ten tech not.
- 18:25Speaker 3: Ten tens outrageous. Yeah, because if you want to go
- 18:28Speaker 3: up to six, I'm okay with that.
- 18:29Speaker 2: That's still no. All right, I'm going to meet you
- 18:32Speaker 2: in the middle and say four tickets and that's all
- 18:33Speaker 2: he should get. I'm good with four and that's it.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Because you look at ten tickets, you think about how
- 18:39Speaker 2: much money that is. That's a lot of money to
- 18:42Speaker 2: sit here and say you're gonna get this the rest
- 18:44Speaker 2: of your life. I mean, my goodness, it must be
- 18:47Speaker 2: nice to be a former athletic director. So I look
- 18:51Speaker 2: at it. If I'm Jay Batt the new athletic director,
- 18:54Speaker 2: I'm thinking, Man, that's ten tickets. I could have sold
- 18:57Speaker 2: or raised a lot more money. And I got to
- 18:59Speaker 2: give him ten tickets. I just I don't know. I'm
- 19:02Speaker 2: to a point now that I hate to say. I'm
- 19:06Speaker 2: glad somebody is no longer the athletic director. But I'm
- 19:10Speaker 2: getting to a point as well. It's like the president university.
- 19:15Speaker 2: It's it's it's time for changes all around. So and
- 19:19Speaker 2: I've always liked President Capaludo and but but these dealings
- 19:23Speaker 2: and what's been going on behind the scenes is just
- 19:26Speaker 2: not sat well with me and with quite honestly a
- 19:30Speaker 2: lot of people out there that support the University of Kentucky.
- 19:33Speaker 2: So uh, but all right, we got to take our
- 19:35Speaker 2: first break. If you want to come join us. We're
- 19:37Speaker 2: in log Range, Kentucky. Okay, I'll say it Lagrange. I
- 19:42Speaker 2: like log Range. And you're supposed to say when you're
- 19:44Speaker 2: out here old do you say old Ham or do
- 19:48Speaker 2: you say Oldham County? Because there will be times I
- 19:50Speaker 2: look at that and I say Oldham County.
- 19:53Speaker 3: No, it's old.
- 19:53Speaker 2: No, But I know it's.
- 19:54Speaker 3: Old them I live in It's like when you say
- 19:57Speaker 3: log range, it kind of reminds me of people saying
- 20:00Speaker 3: Lynn exactly.
- 20:01Speaker 2: People do say that and it's no one. All right.
- 20:04Speaker 2: So I'm getting on the plane yesterday in Tampa, Florida,
- 20:07Speaker 2: and the lady said, Louisville if you want to get
- 20:11Speaker 2: on the plane to Louville, Kentucky. And I'm like, oh my.
- 20:14Speaker 3: Gosh, that's not all that bad. I feel there's way
- 20:18Speaker 3: worse pronounci.
- 20:19Speaker 2: She got it halfway, she got the loull, but she
- 20:22Speaker 2: got the Then you said that bill. Yeah, that's just
- 20:25Speaker 2: kind of like the whole team that deep TBT from
- 20:27Speaker 2: U l the Ville. I do not like Louisville. They
- 20:31Speaker 2: should Wow, that's perfect. It should be the bull. Yes,
- 20:36Speaker 2: it should not be the bill. I don't. I don't
- 20:38Speaker 2: like this hole we're calling Louisville the bill. I mean,
- 20:42Speaker 2: I think it just sounds dumb.
- 20:43Speaker 3: We're not There's so many around well in the country. Yeah, Jacksonville,
- 20:49Speaker 3: we could go on.
- 20:50Speaker 2: And on, Huntsville, Huntsville, how many bills are they? Hendersonville
- 20:56Speaker 2: if you know where that is, it's outside of Nashville, Danville.
- 21:00Speaker 3: Yea, I think I'm all out.
- 21:03Speaker 2: There's a bunch of them. But anyway, if you want
- 21:05Speaker 2: to join us, you can do it five O two
- 21:06Speaker 2: three four four or we can't take phone calls today,
- 21:08Speaker 2: can all right? So we can't take phone calls, all right,
- 21:11Speaker 2: but we can take your text if you want to
- 21:13Speaker 2: Texas five O two three, Uh what is it? Four
- 21:16Speaker 2: one four fourteen fifty on the Whiskey Thief text line.
- 21:18Speaker 2: I'm all messed up, But we got a bunch of
- 21:20Speaker 2: golfers out here at Eagle Creek Golf Club, golf course,
- 21:25Speaker 2: golf course. Oh, excuse me, not a club. Eagle Creek
- 21:28Speaker 2: Golf open to the publish. Yes, it's a beautiful facility.
- 21:32Speaker 2: It looks awesome right across the street from my niece's neighborhood, Ashley.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Uh winning cam if you if you know where Ashley lives,
- 21:38Speaker 2: just come across the street, okay and tell Ashley I'm
- 21:41Speaker 2: on the air over here, and bring the kids. So anyway,
- 21:43Speaker 2: I'd love for you to come out here, bring the kids,
- 21:45Speaker 2: bring the kiddos, and say hello to Michael Bennett. Okay. Well,
- 21:48Speaker 2: if you don't want to say hello to me, say
- 21:50Speaker 2: hello to Justin. So we're gonna have two hours of
- 21:53Speaker 2: just the cats out here for the Saint Matthews Chamber
- 21:57Speaker 2: of Commerce. That's their big Isn't it funny though that
- 22:00Speaker 2: they're playing in Oldham County not in Saint Matthew's. There's
- 22:05Speaker 2: no I don't know, it's just kind of funny. All right,
- 22:07Speaker 2: I'm going to take a break. We'll see you in
- 22:09Speaker 2: a minute.
- 22:09Speaker 1: This is just as.
- 22:36Speaker 2: Takes time, sad guys side the game. You're not talking
- 22:45Speaker 2: about letting long ago, No, rain, I got a lot
- 22:55Speaker 2: of nice GIRs follow too, four one, four, fourteen fifty
- 23:03Speaker 2: If you want to text on the Whiskey Thief text line. Uh,
- 23:06Speaker 2: that's one of those songs right there. Soon as it starts,
- 23:10Speaker 2: you know what song it is? Oh yeah, yeah, there
- 23:12Speaker 2: are and we've talked about this before, but there are
- 23:15Speaker 2: a number of songs out there. As soon as it starts,
- 23:18Speaker 2: you know exactly which one is. That's that's a to me,
- 23:21Speaker 2: that's an iconic song.
- 23:22Speaker 3: I uh, I'll never forget seeing them at Bourbon and
- 23:25Speaker 3: Beyond ZZ top correct. They played before Zach Brown Band
- 23:30Speaker 3: and they were they were awesome. ZZ was fantastic. Well
- 23:33Speaker 3: they walk off the stage. Well, you know the guy's
- 23:36Speaker 3: name is not ZZ No, I mean the band. Okay,
- 23:38Speaker 3: thank you because that was when the other that was
- 23:40Speaker 3: before the other one had passed, right, basically, didn't one
- 23:43Speaker 3: pass recently? Yeah, so he was still alive at the time.
- 23:45Speaker 3: But they finished their set and they walk off stage
- 23:48Speaker 3: and this girl beside and he's losing her mind because
- 23:51Speaker 3: she doesn't want it to be done, like she's she's
- 23:54Speaker 3: losing it. How old a lady is this lady probably
- 23:57Speaker 3: in her early fifties, but okay, I look at her
- 23:59Speaker 3: and I was like, ma'am, calm down, and she's like
- 24:02Speaker 3: why And I was like, they didn't even play lagrange.
- 24:05Speaker 3: I said, you think they're not coming back out to
- 24:07Speaker 3: play lagrange? And then here they come a minute later,
- 24:11Speaker 3: and she lost her mind.
- 24:14Speaker 2: It was and then you broke up with her.
- 24:17Speaker 3: No, no, we weren't.
- 24:19Speaker 2: That's a shame you should have. You should have. I mean,
- 24:22Speaker 2: it's nothing like dating a cougar.
- 24:25Speaker 3: So do you really I'm CYU Washington State.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Oh jeez, that's a terrible joke. Here comes easy Top
- 24:33Speaker 2: right now, and that's sounds true. But all right, let's
- 24:37Speaker 2: let's talk about a couple of things. Uh University Kentucky
- 24:40Speaker 2: found out yesterday that Jamal Crawford is officially turning down
- 24:46Speaker 2: the UK assistant basketball job.
- 24:49Speaker 3: I had a feeling that was coming.
- 24:51Speaker 2: I did too, as long as he was taking it
- 24:54Speaker 2: just doesn't surprise you.
- 24:56Speaker 3: Uh.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Is that devastating news? No? No? No, I mean would
- 25:01Speaker 2: it have been nice to have him a part of
- 25:04Speaker 2: the of the team. Yeah, absolutely. I mean there would
- 25:08Speaker 2: have been a coolness there that would have taken a
- 25:10Speaker 2: boost on recruiting. But I don't think it's just devastating news. No.
- 25:16Speaker 2: He said he's not ready yet. I mean there's a
- 25:18Speaker 2: time that he's going to get into coaching, either in
- 25:21Speaker 2: college and or NBA. And I'm like, I don't get
- 25:25Speaker 2: these guys that are coaching high school what's he doing?
- 25:29Speaker 2: He's coaching high school, NBC Sports and AAU coaching and
- 25:33Speaker 2: then they think they can get directly into NBA as
- 25:36Speaker 2: a coach. Well, what has happened to coaching today? I
- 25:39Speaker 2: mean Jamal Crawford probably could why because he was a
- 25:44Speaker 2: stud in the NBA.
- 25:45Speaker 3: I mean, look at Jason Kidd, didn't have any coaching experience.
- 25:48Speaker 3: He got a job.
- 25:49Speaker 2: Both sides of your mouth, Steve.
- 25:51Speaker 3: Didn't have an experience, He's not going to get the job.
- 25:56Speaker 3: He didn't get the job.
- 25:57Speaker 2: Why exactly. He didn't get the job, But why could
- 26:00Speaker 2: Rajon Rondo get a job in the NBA. He if
- 26:02Speaker 2: anybody should get a job, it would be Raj.
- 26:06Speaker 3: I mean really coaching. Garry didn't coach. He's not that
- 26:11Speaker 3: important at the NBA level.
- 26:12Speaker 2: It's managing.
- 26:13Speaker 3: I've always said that. I'll always say that it is
- 26:15Speaker 3: you're you're just managing personalities. And if you've got a
- 26:18Speaker 3: guy that can do that, Like I don't know if
- 26:21Speaker 3: can do that or not, but if he could, then
- 26:24Speaker 3: that'd be great.
- 26:25Speaker 2: This guy, I know him. He has a quarter zip
- 26:28Speaker 2: on and pants. Yeah, and I'm out here in shorts
- 26:31Speaker 2: and a shirt sweating.
- 26:33Speaker 3: Where do you see that?
- 26:34Speaker 2: He's walking down the drive down here the gray long
- 26:37Speaker 2: side pants and I'm like, oh my gosh, man.
- 26:41Speaker 3: I mean, it was literally seventy seven degrees when I
- 26:43Speaker 3: walked out of my house at four point thirty this morning, right,
- 26:46Speaker 3: But it was human, That's what I'm saying. Like that
- 26:50Speaker 3: there at no point during today was that an acceptable outfit.
- 26:53Speaker 2: All right? So, Jamal, you think because he did fully
- 26:57Speaker 2: admit how good a friend he is with Mark Powe,
- 27:00Speaker 2: do you think there was a chance that he was
- 27:03Speaker 2: really considering coming to Kentucky or was he just like, yeah,
- 27:06Speaker 2: I'll think about it, but not taking it necessarily seriously.
- 27:09Speaker 3: I mean, it's one of those things where anytime you
- 27:12Speaker 3: get a call from anybody at a place like Kentucky,
- 27:15Speaker 3: it's probably something you have to seriously think about, right.
- 27:19Speaker 3: I Mean, there's there's some prestigious jobs out there in
- 27:21Speaker 3: the country, and Kentucky's one of those. If you've got
- 27:24Speaker 3: an opportunity to be on the staff, Yeah, it's gonna
- 27:27Speaker 3: it's gonna take some brain power for you to figure
- 27:29Speaker 3: out if that's what the route you want.
- 27:30Speaker 2: To go or not.
- 27:31Speaker 3: And it's that doesn't This doesn't necessarily mean the doors closed, right,
- 27:35Speaker 3: I mean no, once he decides to get into coaching. Heck,
- 27:38Speaker 3: two years from now, if Mark Pope's still the head man,
- 27:41Speaker 3: maybe he reaches back out and at that point Jamal
- 27:43Speaker 3: does accept.
- 27:44Speaker 2: Yeah. Let's get to a couple of texts on the
- 27:47Speaker 2: Whiskey Thief text line five oh two four one four
- 27:49Speaker 2: fourteen fifty one. Texter said, Michael, have you have you
- 27:53Speaker 2: been keeping tabs on the San Francisco handicap this weekend
- 27:56Speaker 2: at Delmar Journalism and Full Serrano seems like an easy, exactly. No,
- 28:03Speaker 2: I haven't justin have you? I have not. Of course,
- 28:06Speaker 2: if you don't know Delmar, which which is opening this week,
- 28:13Speaker 2: I think they opened yesterday was their first a racing.
- 28:16Speaker 2: It's if you ever have the chance to go to
- 28:18Speaker 2: race tracks, uh, and you're in the San Diego area.
- 28:22Speaker 2: I will say, of all the racetracks in our country,
- 28:26Speaker 2: del Mar is by far my favorite. You've heard me
- 28:31Speaker 2: talk about Keenland in Lexington. Keenland does not even come
- 28:38Speaker 2: close to Delmar.
- 28:39Speaker 3: You've broughten that up so many times at this point
- 28:41Speaker 3: that I think you're just intentionally trying to piss off
- 28:43Speaker 3: the Lexington listeners.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Maybe I am, so just admit it because they're snooty
- 28:50Speaker 2: about no place like Keenland. It's like, all right, here's
- 28:53Speaker 2: what upsets me about Keenland. It's like you have to
- 28:56Speaker 2: wear a coat and tie. It's I gonna have to
- 28:58Speaker 2: wear that out there. You wear flipped ops, a shirt
- 29:00Speaker 2: and T shirt and shorts and you're good to go.
- 29:03Speaker 2: So yeah, Keenland, Keene I mean del Mar's first, Saratoga second,
- 29:11Speaker 2: and then uh, probably Santa Anita is my third favorite. Okay,
- 29:16Speaker 2: And then of course I'm always gonna be biased to
- 29:18Speaker 2: Churchill Downs. Churchill Downs will be over Keenland every time
- 29:21Speaker 2: because it's in my backyard. And the only bad part
- 29:24Speaker 2: about Keenland Churchill Downs is that it's not in the
- 29:27Speaker 2: greatest part of town. That's the part.
- 29:30Speaker 3: No, it's not.
- 29:30Speaker 2: And uh uh let's see here, John, here. As I
- 29:34Speaker 2: am listening this morning, I'm only I only have three
- 29:37Speaker 2: hours of work for my first job left to do
- 29:41Speaker 2: then I can go home. So before I go in
- 29:43Speaker 2: this morning, I am getting my workout and jog done.
- 29:47Speaker 2: Good for him, there you go, John, Wow.
- 29:50Speaker 5: Uh.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Then I will be time for I will be time
- 29:55Speaker 2: for a cat that's just bad. It'll be time for
- 29:58Speaker 2: a DCAV coffee. I am so happy to have a
- 30:01Speaker 2: show like you is, Michael and justin. You guys keep
- 30:05Speaker 2: me thinking and laughing. As I keep going. The familia
- 30:09Speaker 2: will win. Y'all have a great weekend.
- 30:13Speaker 3: DCAF coffee, John. Are not many things in this world
- 30:18Speaker 3: that I understand less than DCAF coffee.
- 30:22Speaker 2: Really, I don't know the difference.
- 30:23Speaker 3: What's the point of what's the point of people drinking
- 30:26Speaker 3: coffee to wake them up? But DCAF doesn't have any
- 30:29Speaker 3: caffeine in it, So it's not gonna wake you up. Right.
- 30:32Speaker 3: I'm not a coffee drinker, so I might be talking
- 30:34Speaker 3: out of my houses and affect me.
- 30:36Speaker 2: It's kind of weird. I know. My wife has said
- 30:39Speaker 2: to me a couple of times, Michael, don't drink that tea.
- 30:42Speaker 2: You'll stay up all night and I'll drink it, and
- 30:44Speaker 2: I'm like, I go right to bed. Caffeine just has
- 30:47Speaker 2: no effect on me. Just like today. What do you
- 30:50Speaker 2: think I've had to drink today and the energy I have? Do?
- 30:55Speaker 2: I have energy this morning? You always have energy? Right?
- 30:58Speaker 2: What do you think I drink in the morning?
- 31:00Speaker 3: Water?
- 31:00Speaker 2: That's it, It's all I have. I don't think all
- 31:03Speaker 2: these booster all these caffeinated drinks do anything to me.
- 31:09Speaker 2: I mean, it does nothing to me.
- 31:11Speaker 3: Oh they do to me?
- 31:12Speaker 2: Really? Oh yeah, I see.
- 31:13Speaker 3: I think it's in your head. Go in there and
- 31:15Speaker 3: buy me a coke, and don't see what happened.
- 31:17Speaker 2: I'm not buying a coke. You want to coke?
- 31:19Speaker 3: I haven't had one in five days.
- 31:21Speaker 2: I gotta go in there and buy one. We're talking
- 31:23Speaker 2: about Eagle Creek golf Course all morning long, and they
- 31:26Speaker 2: won't give us a drink.
- 31:27Speaker 3: Tell, Pam, Tell, Pam, we need a drink.
- 31:30Speaker 2: Okay, all right, then bring us a cold one, Bring
- 31:32Speaker 2: us a cold one. Already asked for a taco and
- 31:34Speaker 2: she just kind of looked at me.
- 31:36Speaker 3: But let's have a beer and none in all right?
- 31:37Speaker 2: So John's talking about La familia. No, you get me
- 31:41Speaker 2: going on that, You're gonna see a different side of
- 31:43Speaker 2: Michael Benn. I don't know if you want Michael Bennett
- 31:46Speaker 2: drinking milk ultra this time in the morning, although I
- 31:49Speaker 2: tell you what I would have one. It would probably
- 31:51Speaker 2: be good. Old buddy. He's got a fireball right there?
- 31:54Speaker 2: Are you kidding me? He's carrying a fireball? Or do
- 31:57Speaker 2: you see fireball?
- 31:59Speaker 3: I saw it, trust me, I'm a fireball expert. He's
- 32:01Speaker 3: got one in a sad guy in the purple shirt
- 32:03Speaker 3: and and the know the one in the back right
- 32:07Speaker 3: really actually, no, they both do they they both have They.
- 32:10Speaker 2: Must be given them away. That's the only thing, all right,
- 32:13Speaker 2: How do we get you fireball? I mean I don't
- 32:16Speaker 2: I'll give it. No, I don't want you. I know,
- 32:20Speaker 2: it's exactly right. I might have a beer.
- 32:22Speaker 3: I would take an ultra though. That looked but he
- 32:24Speaker 3: walked up with that that looked good, looked cold.
- 32:28Speaker 2: Yeah, he was ready to just get blitzed, wasn't. He
- 32:31Speaker 2: is one of those kind of guys that go to
- 32:33Speaker 2: the NFL and does not remember what happened at the
- 32:35Speaker 2: end of the game.
- 32:36Speaker 3: Well, scrambles, you can do that, right. You don't really
- 32:39Speaker 3: want to do that if you're playing your own ball,
- 32:41Speaker 3: But in a scramble, heck, yeah, let's get torch.
- 32:44Speaker 2: Yeah. But if I own these golf carts, I don't
- 32:46Speaker 2: want that happening because they're going to get destroyed. I mean,
- 32:49Speaker 2: what was that that movie called Hall Pass? Yeah, and
- 32:53Speaker 2: you know they're destroying the golf course and the guy's
- 32:55Speaker 2: taking a bathroom in the sandbox. I mean, come on, man,
- 32:59Speaker 2: uh no.
- 32:59Speaker 3: You hammered on a golf course. I've never read, no
- 33:02Speaker 3: I have. By the way, speaking of golf courses, did
- 33:05Speaker 3: you see the police chase. I believe it was up
- 33:08Speaker 3: in Ohio that went through the golf course. There might
- 33:11Speaker 3: have been Pennsylvania up there.
- 33:13Speaker 2: Yeah, he's pretty close Oile Pennsylvania, right they were.
- 33:15Speaker 3: Uh so the guy that got the video, he was
- 33:18Speaker 3: on the tea box and all of a sudden, you
- 33:20Speaker 3: see this mini van just coming through the course.
- 33:24Speaker 2: And a police box.
- 33:26Speaker 3: No, he was like off to the side of it,
- 33:28Speaker 3: but an officer was right behind him. So this guy,
- 33:31Speaker 3: I guess he had had a number to drink. So
- 33:34Speaker 3: he went and got in his cart and he said,
- 33:37Speaker 3: don't worry, I'm on it, and he starts chasing this
- 33:39Speaker 3: mini van.
- 33:41Speaker 2: Are you serious? Wow? Did they touch the guy that?
- 33:45Speaker 3: I don't know? I didn't see the follow up? We
- 33:48Speaker 3: gotta know the rest of you got to do your
- 33:50Speaker 3: own research. I don't know.
- 33:51Speaker 2: Do I ever do research on anything? No? I don't research.
- 33:55Speaker 2: So anyway, we got to take our next break. If
- 33:57Speaker 2: you want to call, sorry, you can't call in today.
- 34:00Speaker 2: If you want to come see us, you can come
- 34:01Speaker 2: see us. We're at Eagle Creek golf Course out in Lagrange, Kentucky,
- 34:05Speaker 2: which is part of Oldham County. This is the last
- 34:08Speaker 2: all right. Lagrange is famous for Exit twenty two. That's Lagrange, Kentucky.
- 34:14Speaker 2: Because if you have any father, you're in what's the
- 34:16Speaker 2: ex county up? Henry County. I believe it's Henry Owen
- 34:21Speaker 2: Carroll Go. Why do I know this? That's psycho behavior
- 34:25Speaker 2: because I've driven to Cincinnati so many times. Look at
- 34:28Speaker 2: this guy, he doesn't want me to disturb him. He's
- 34:30Speaker 2: on his telephone, so he's gonna walk right past us
- 34:32Speaker 2: and not say a thing. So I like your belt,
- 34:35Speaker 2: by the way. But anyway, we're gonna take a break.
- 34:37Speaker 2: You want to text in. I'll get back to your
- 34:38Speaker 2: Texas as soon as we get back. Five oh two
- 34:40Speaker 2: four one four fourteen fifty where at Eagle Creek Golf
- 34:44Speaker 2: Course in Lagrange, Kentucky. More just the cats coming right
- 34:47Speaker 2: up a list fabo two three uh four one four.
- 35:37Speaker 2: It's messing me up. I can't see you're gonna do
- 35:38Speaker 2: it all morning. I am. I'm going to do it
- 35:40Speaker 2: every single at least I hadn't called you Matthew in
- 35:42Speaker 2: a while, so's i've called you Justin With Matthew, I
- 35:46Speaker 2: would call him justin and he got frustrated with me.
- 35:49Speaker 2: But yeah, I would have been to yeah, dding that
- 35:52Speaker 2: I would have been to Okay, well, sorry about that.
- 35:54Speaker 2: Let's just listen. My wife is lucky if I get
- 35:58Speaker 2: her name right. So uh one person texted out on
- 36:01Speaker 2: the whiskey. The text line, it's terrible radio listening to
- 36:03Speaker 2: Michael talking to some guy. We can't hear laugh out loud. Well,
- 36:08Speaker 2: the problem is I don't. We got one microphone, and
- 36:11Speaker 2: I'm trying to go back and forth as fast as
- 36:13Speaker 2: i can to make sure I don't.
- 36:15Speaker 3: Michael never spent time as a sideline reporter, so he
- 36:18Speaker 3: doesn't understand the whole mic passing.
- 36:21Speaker 2: I was trying to give it over to him.
- 36:23Speaker 3: Well, the problem was he started talking a lot before
- 36:26Speaker 3: the mic got exactly. It wasn't necessarily your fault.
- 36:29Speaker 2: No, thank Youank, I appreciate that. Of course. There you
- 36:32Speaker 2: go text here so I listen. I tried, and I
- 36:35Speaker 2: completely understand how frustrating that can be. Uh one person
- 36:39Speaker 2: texted out as it takes forever to load, and I'm
- 36:41Speaker 2: not going to get it. So God, this is just
- 36:44Speaker 2: freighting to me. Here we go, I got it. Uh
- 36:47Speaker 2: Scoots does the shows? Uh pantless Michael.
- 36:54Speaker 3: Yeah, that's why I don't want you in my studio.
- 36:59Speaker 2: Is that really okay? Yeah, I'll stay on my side now.
- 37:04Speaker 2: He needs the privacy in his booth. It is odd
- 37:08Speaker 2: pointless that Basher is harping on this barnheard thing, but
- 37:13Speaker 2: he wasn't wrong. Initially that was messed up. But if
- 37:17Speaker 2: it's private funds, not much you can do about it.
- 37:20Speaker 2: Just kind of sad that we can come up with
- 37:23Speaker 2: three million dollar retirement package for a guy who made
- 37:27Speaker 2: bank his career over his career, but we can't get
- 37:32Speaker 2: better benefits for your average person. No, trying to get political.
- 37:37Speaker 2: Not trying to get political.
- 37:39Speaker 3: So a lot of politics this morning.
- 37:41Speaker 2: Good morning. How are you doing good? I'm doing great.
- 37:44Speaker 2: Thank you. Here, come talk to us. I'll talk Michael Bennett.
- 37:47Speaker 2: I'm live on the air, So don't please don't say
- 37:50Speaker 2: four letter words you're going to say. Okay, and your
- 37:53Speaker 2: name is Brook Taffle. Oh, Brook Taffle. Really, I know
- 37:58Speaker 2: a lot of Taffles.
- 38:00Speaker 8: Oh, yes, Well my dad was in the luck business.
- 38:04Speaker 8: But I didn't drive a Mercedes, so.
- 38:06Speaker 2: I wasn't in that. So I understand. Uh, what was
- 38:09Speaker 2: your dad, Bill Taffle? Yes, he sure was. My dad
- 38:13Speaker 2: was good friends with your dad. Oh is that right? Yeah?
- 38:17Speaker 2: I knew your dad all right. Jerry Bennett was my dad.
- 38:20Speaker 2: Jerry Bennett.
- 38:21Speaker 8: Okay, fantastic.
- 38:23Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, well well we'll stop going, we'll go off
- 38:25Speaker 2: the air with that kind of stuff. But yeah, I
- 38:26Speaker 2: knew your dad very well. So that's Neate, that's Nate Louisville.
- 38:30Speaker 2: Is a good thing about that? Well, we're very incestuous
- 38:32Speaker 2: in the city without a doubt. So please tell me,
- 38:35Speaker 2: mister Taffle, what you do here in Louisville.
- 38:37Speaker 8: I'm actually retired. I had several different businesses. One was
- 38:41Speaker 8: architectural landscape lighting and the other one was a mesquito
- 38:45Speaker 8: control business. And then I was with Bell South Mobility
- 38:49Speaker 8: and AT and T for a long time.
- 38:51Speaker 2: Good for you, and you're a fan of what's college now, Kentucky? Yeah,
- 38:56Speaker 2: there we go. Now we finally got a Kentucky person
- 38:59Speaker 2: over here talking about Kentucky. All right, right, let's tell
- 39:02Speaker 2: let's talk about that, mister Taffle. Well, first we'll start
- 39:06Speaker 2: with football. How do you think Will Stein will do
- 39:08Speaker 2: his football first football season at UK. I'm very excited
- 39:13Speaker 2: about it.
- 39:13Speaker 8: I'm pumped, and I'm hoping that we've got a good
- 39:16Speaker 8: change and some positive things to happen.
- 39:20Speaker 2: All right, let's talk about basketball. Do you think Mark
- 39:23Speaker 2: Pope is going to get in his third season a
- 39:27Speaker 2: good team together? And is he going to develop them?
- 39:30Speaker 2: And are we going to go deep?
- 39:31Speaker 8: I'm hoping, So I'm really really hoping. So you know,
- 39:35Speaker 8: I went to school at Kentucky when we just really
- 39:38Speaker 8: had a dynasty run and we need it back into Kentucky.
- 39:43Speaker 2: So, yeah, we do. I can already smell the cigars
- 39:45Speaker 2: right now. Nineteen thirty seven? What is nineteen thirty seven
- 39:48Speaker 2: on your hat?
- 39:49Speaker 8: This is I believe my partner's established company day.
- 39:55Speaker 2: I don't know really, And what company is this?
- 39:58Speaker 8: This is Sterling Tom, I'm a guest of Sterling Thompson,
- 40:02Speaker 8: who I guess is sponsoring our company or golf.
- 40:06Speaker 2: For your golf outing today. Well, it's very nice beating you.
- 40:09Speaker 2: Thank you, thank you for coming by. All right, there,
- 40:12Speaker 2: you see that's what I enjoy. There are cats around,
- 40:16Speaker 2: see you around. We need these cats around. And the
- 40:18Speaker 2: funny part is here we know I know his dad.
- 40:21Speaker 2: I remember his dad very well. Yeah, but uh anyway,
- 40:25Speaker 2: so uh all right, I only know where we were,
- 40:28Speaker 2: but you remind me I don't know where we worried. Okay,
- 40:31Speaker 2: all right.
- 40:32Speaker 3: Then that's the thing about these remote broadcast is I'm
- 40:35Speaker 3: it's hard for me to concentrate. There's just too much
- 40:39Speaker 3: going on.
- 40:40Speaker 2: You think it's hard for you to con you think
- 40:43Speaker 2: it is for me.
- 40:43Speaker 3: I was telling you during the last break. And it's
- 40:45Speaker 3: gonna be nice when they tee off here in about
- 40:47Speaker 3: ten minutes and we'll get a little bit of quiet.
- 40:49Speaker 2: It'll be quiet, yeah, which which I'll kind of hate.
- 40:52Speaker 2: I like the up since.
- 40:55Speaker 3: We're right behind the tea box here, I'm ready to watch. Oh,
- 40:58Speaker 3: I'm ready to do.
- 41:00Speaker 2: We should move the entire table over there. I don't
- 41:04Speaker 2: care how loud I am. I'm gonna be loud anyway.
- 41:06Speaker 2: And we're what fifteen Well, no, we're probably what fifty
- 41:09Speaker 2: feet away from the tea box. Yeah, how's that going
- 41:12Speaker 2: to change? Let's go over there. We'll commentate on how
- 41:14Speaker 2: everybody does on their t shot.
- 41:16Speaker 3: Well, bad news for you is I do not have
- 41:18Speaker 3: an extension cord long enough. Okay, so we're kind of stuck.
- 41:21Speaker 3: We are uh forty eight.
- 41:23Speaker 2: Handlely said there are no easy exactas Saratoga and then
- 41:26Speaker 2: the rest. Hialia was a showpiece in its day, known
- 41:31Speaker 2: for the flamingos in the infield. I remember that flamingos, Yes,
- 41:37Speaker 2: like actual flamingo, actual live flamingos, because this was down
- 41:41Speaker 2: in South Florida is where Hilo. They said, Hialiah was
- 41:44Speaker 2: one of the most beautiful racetracks in the country.
- 41:47Speaker 3: It's not a thing anymore.
- 41:48Speaker 2: No, it's closed, which is kind of sad.
- 41:50Speaker 3: I think what happened to the flamingos.
- 41:52Speaker 2: They probably flew to Saint Pete. I don't know they're
- 41:54Speaker 2: in Key US. Who knows. But here's the crazy part.
- 41:57Speaker 2: There are a bunch of flamingos in Saint Pete now
- 42:00Speaker 2: really that they say was brought in by the hurricanes
- 42:03Speaker 2: two years ago.
- 42:04Speaker 3: Interesting.
- 42:05Speaker 2: Can you imagine being a bird and you're you get
- 42:08Speaker 2: stuck in a hurricane, you fly to a completely different
- 42:11Speaker 2: country because they don't.
- 42:12Speaker 3: Know that birds came from a different country. They don't
- 42:15Speaker 3: know that they're in a different country long. So as
- 42:17Speaker 3: long as there's food to eat, they'll be happy.
- 42:19Speaker 2: Okay, drink, Okay, there you go, food and water. But
- 42:25Speaker 2: I don't think I could last with that. John here again.
- 42:28Speaker 2: D calf has less caffeine than regular coffee.
- 42:31Speaker 3: I mean we kind of knew that so does have caffeine.
- 42:34Speaker 2: Though well, doesn't Dike coke cap sugar in it?
- 42:38Speaker 3: I don't. I have no idea.
- 42:40Speaker 2: I think, if I remember correct, there's still sugar in
- 42:44Speaker 2: Dike coke even though it's Dike coke. My family has
- 42:47Speaker 2: a history of high blood pressure, so I like to
- 42:50Speaker 2: do my best to help myself. And what has been
- 42:54Speaker 2: possibly passed down through the family. So no soft drinks
- 42:59Speaker 2: and decaf coffee is the way to go.
- 43:01Speaker 3: Good for you, John, I haven't had a soft drink
- 43:03Speaker 3: since Sunday, so go.
- 43:05Speaker 2: Me congratulates days that to me, sugar was my weakest
- 43:12Speaker 2: thing to turn down. It's it's soft drinks for me
- 43:16Speaker 2: now and diet coke mostly.
- 43:18Speaker 3: Actually, I went to fast food earlier yesterday. Like I
- 43:22Speaker 3: was telling you, I got a water.
- 43:24Speaker 2: Did you really impressive of water? Okay, all right now
- 43:28Speaker 2: full disclosure.
- 43:29Speaker 3: Actually got gatorade and they were out, and I was like,
- 43:32Speaker 3: all give.
- 43:32Speaker 2: Me a water. Good morning. Don't stare at us and
- 43:35Speaker 2: not say anything. I mean, you know, you come over,
- 43:37Speaker 2: come around on this side. You got to say hello
- 43:39Speaker 2: to us. You gotta come over here. I mean, I'm sorry,
- 43:43Speaker 2: always look look at the hattie has on. Oh boy, Okay,
- 43:47Speaker 2: all right, I'll reluctantly talk to you, even though you
- 43:49Speaker 2: have this ridiculous bird on the side of your hat.
- 43:52Speaker 2: Your name is, and who do you work for?
- 43:53Speaker 9: Matthew Smith work for a Lobal Medical Center steam plant.
- 43:58Speaker 2: Louisville Medical Centers steam plant. That's a whole mess of
- 44:01Speaker 2: words right there. What is a Louisville Medical Center steam plant.
- 44:05Speaker 9: So we're a district energy plant. We provide steam and
- 44:08Speaker 9: hill water to all the hospitals and medical buildings, research facilities, schools.
- 44:13Speaker 2: Downtown fantastic and so, uh did you make bad grades
- 44:17Speaker 2: in high school? And that's why you have a U
- 44:19Speaker 2: of L on the side of your hut.
- 44:21Speaker 9: No, no, kids went to school there, and uh, you know,
- 44:26Speaker 9: you give them money and they're in the backyard and
- 44:29Speaker 9: I kind of work right in the middle of it.
- 44:30Speaker 2: So you know, it just happened. Yeah, I can understand.
- 44:34Speaker 2: And now you're out here playing golf in Lagrange, Kentucky
- 44:37Speaker 2: as a part of the Saint Matthew Chamberg Commerce Right, yeap.
- 44:40Speaker 9: My wife works for Anthem. Uh, they're sponsoring Able Mechanical.
- 44:45Speaker 9: They're a contractor for us, so they're sponsoring. They put
- 44:49Speaker 9: a team out here.
- 44:50Speaker 2: So well, welcome to a University of Kentucky radio show.
- 44:54Speaker 2: All right, well, thank you, it's good meeting you. Good
- 44:57Speaker 2: luck today. All right, there you go. But yes, I
- 45:03Speaker 2: can't help myself. Okay, when somebody's staring at me, shouldn't
- 45:06Speaker 2: you always say hello to them?
- 45:08Speaker 3: Give him a waiver or something.
- 45:10Speaker 2: You want some kind of response. But one Texter said
- 45:15Speaker 2: Scoots time for No, that was earlier. Let me get
- 45:20Speaker 2: to let me get to this. Scoots is eyeing beers
- 45:23Speaker 2: like he's on a do Oi checkpoint.
- 45:27Speaker 3: Just saying I'm thirsty. Would it be nice?
- 45:29Speaker 2: Is that? Yeah?
- 45:31Speaker 3: I'm not gonna have one, Jamie, so don't come get me.
- 45:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I think you should come get him, no matter what.
- 45:36Speaker 2: Michael out on a remote is awesome because there is
- 45:39Speaker 2: a real chance he might chase an actual squirrel. Love
- 45:43Speaker 2: you guys, it's so true. You know, I haven't seen
- 45:47Speaker 2: a squirrel. I've seen my fair share of geese this morning. Oh,
- 45:50Speaker 2: we got the birds up here somewhere. So there's a
- 45:53Speaker 2: messed up right above us. Yeah, there is right down
- 45:56Speaker 2: that one that's gonna drive me nuts. But bunch of
- 46:00Speaker 2: pythons down there, laugh out loud. Okay, I didn't know
- 46:04Speaker 2: that at Kyleah, so that started to squeak. I saw
- 46:08Speaker 2: in the news down in Florida that you know, they've
- 46:10Speaker 2: got the python hunt going on and the most the
- 46:14Speaker 2: person gets the most pythons exactly. Remember last year we
- 46:18Speaker 2: talked about it, girl, that lady. Yeah, it's like, my gosh,
- 46:23Speaker 2: I am scared to death of pythons. She would be
- 46:25Speaker 2: a lady i'd want to go out with if I
- 46:27Speaker 2: was ever seen.
- 46:27Speaker 3: I would love to join somebody.
- 46:30Speaker 2: On a python hunt.
- 46:31Speaker 3: If you would connections, I would love that.
- 46:34Speaker 2: I don't know if I would enjoy that or not.
- 46:37Speaker 2: To me, I would be more scared of. But you
- 46:39Speaker 2: don't like snakes, right, I don't like snakes. I don't
- 46:41Speaker 2: like spiders. I don't like all kinds of stuff.
- 46:44Speaker 3: I don't like snakes. I think they're fascinating.
- 46:46Speaker 2: Wow, even if the thing curls up around you and
- 46:50Speaker 2: strangles you and you go, I'm all about snakes.
- 46:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I talk to you how I want to get killed.
- 46:56Speaker 2: You are one strange individual. I just want you to
- 46:59Speaker 2: know that. No, that that is not for me. I
- 47:01Speaker 2: don't like that kind of stuff. Anytime I'm around a
- 47:06Speaker 2: spider is like I can't get away fast enough.
- 47:09Speaker 3: Hey, this isn't good for radio. But that dude in
- 47:11Speaker 3: the blue looks like a poor man's JAD showburn, right, he.
- 47:15Speaker 2: Does, look I canim Oh my gosh, if he had,
- 47:20Speaker 2: you know, a little bit longer hair and a little
- 47:22Speaker 2: about three inches four inches taller.
- 47:24Speaker 3: No, he needs like a foot taller.
- 47:26Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, he looks like j D. Shelburn.
- 47:29Speaker 3: He does.
- 47:29Speaker 2: That's a fun game. I love to play. It's like,
- 47:32Speaker 2: who does he look like? That's another one you? Okay,
- 47:35Speaker 2: now I'm really messed up. All right, we gotta take
- 47:37Speaker 2: a break hour or two of Just the Cats coming
- 47:40Speaker 2: right up.
- 47:58Speaker 1: Welcome to the Cats with Michael Bennett.
- 48:15Speaker 2: Couldn't be perfect more perfect timing right now? I mean,
- 48:18Speaker 2: here we are. We're live at Eagle Creek Golf Course
- 48:22Speaker 2: for the Saint Matthew's Chamber of Commas golf tournaments. As
- 48:29Speaker 2: they go through the rules exactly. So the best part
- 48:32Speaker 2: is we get to hear the rules of the day
- 48:34Speaker 2: on the radio so that we know what is going on.
- 48:38Speaker 2: But colors have to stay on the path, okay, and
- 48:42Speaker 2: they're going to give you the yardage to the front.
- 48:44Speaker 2: That's the perfect park. I love this part. But this
- 48:47Speaker 2: is terrible. I mean, we should take another break right now,
- 48:50Speaker 2: but we're not going to so anyway. I just I
- 48:53Speaker 2: love the timing of this. So but this's our two
- 48:57Speaker 2: Just the Cats. If you're just joining us, we're at
- 48:59Speaker 2: Eagle Creek Golf Course. I can't can't even hear me.
- 49:03Speaker 2: I mean, is this going over? No, they can't hear
- 49:05Speaker 2: me at all? Who the the radio? And but she's
- 49:11Speaker 2: coming over the radio too, maybe a little bit, but
- 49:13Speaker 2: maybe a little bit much louder because the okay, all right,
- 49:17Speaker 2: and they the golfer. You can't hear us at all. No, okay, good,
- 49:20Speaker 2: that's the best part. Okay. So, uh, I do want
- 49:23Speaker 2: to talk about pat rally, let's do it. Did you
- 49:26Speaker 2: see the story that pat Riley.
- 49:29Speaker 3: Bam quote exactly, this was.
- 49:32Speaker 2: Pat Riley was making a joke that he forgot to
- 49:35Speaker 2: mention Bam at a bio. Uh. After pat Riley listed
- 49:39Speaker 2: all the great players that he was associated with coming
- 49:43Speaker 2: to Miami because you know, he was the coach at
- 49:45Speaker 2: Miami and then he was all he's also now the
- 49:47Speaker 2: president of the organization. So he made the joke that,
- 49:52Speaker 2: you know, he forgot to mention uh Bam out of
- 49:57Speaker 2: bio and go, I know, was I was remiss and
- 50:02Speaker 2: mentioning a guy and I don't want to get knocked out.
- 50:08Speaker 2: I thought I thought that was brilliant by him saying that,
- 50:11Speaker 2: just making a complete joke of it.
- 50:14Speaker 3: Well he he pointed over when he said it. So
- 50:17Speaker 3: that makes me think that Bam was there. I wish
- 50:20Speaker 3: more than anything they had panned over to Bam so
- 50:24Speaker 3: we could see his reaction.
- 50:26Speaker 2: Do you think Tyler Hero thought this was funny? No, exactly, Well, Tim,
- 50:31Speaker 2: it seems like he's a little on the bitter side.
- 50:33Speaker 3: Hero wants to move on and get away from Sure,
- 50:37Speaker 3: that's what he said.
- 50:38Speaker 2: He wants to be in Miami, and this was a
- 50:40Speaker 2: clear indication all that he has done that he wants
- 50:43Speaker 2: to be at Miami.
- 50:44Speaker 3: Well, and if you're BAM, I mean I would think
- 50:46Speaker 3: Bam would want to be done with the situation as well.
- 50:49Speaker 3: I mean that that comment from pat Riley was probably
- 50:52Speaker 3: funny to him, but at the same time, it's like, well,
- 50:54Speaker 3: I don't really want to have that reputation, right Yeah.
- 50:59Speaker 2: Well, are you surprised as the NBA is not gonna
- 51:01Speaker 2: penalize Bam aute Bio for his actions. No, but they
- 51:04Speaker 2: have it on video, they have proof that had happened,
- 51:07Speaker 2: that the altercation happened. It's not gonna be released. I
- 51:11Speaker 2: h I looked at that and think, hmm, that's a
- 51:14Speaker 2: little bit surprising that Bam is getting away with this
- 51:17Speaker 2: that I wanted to. I just want this to go away.
- 51:20Speaker 2: I mean, I'm glad that pat Riley and BAM can
- 51:23Speaker 2: laugh about this. Let's just move on.
- 51:25Speaker 3: If it was in the season, Like if this happened
- 51:27Speaker 3: at a practice or even just during the off or
- 51:30Speaker 3: during the season somewhere else, I mean I wouldn't understand it.
- 51:34Speaker 3: But it happened in the off season, Like, why should
- 51:37Speaker 3: the NBA punish any either of those?
- 51:40Speaker 2: We almost had a wreck right in front of us. Crazy,
- 51:43Speaker 2: that would have been awesome. I mean, can you imagine
- 51:46Speaker 2: golf cart bumper cars? That's what they should do. They
- 51:50Speaker 2: should race. The deal should be, you race to every
- 51:53Speaker 2: golf ball and if you hit other golf carts, you
- 51:55Speaker 2: get bonus points, you get strokes taken off.
- 51:58Speaker 3: I have to bring out with the golf balling.
- 52:00Speaker 2: Seriously, I would enjoy that anyway. Yeah, all the golfers
- 52:04Speaker 2: are leaving right now, just looking at us. Who are
- 52:06Speaker 2: these yahoos on the radio?
- 52:08Speaker 3: But I'm jealous. I wish I was going on.
- 52:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I see blue bags, I see red bags. I mean,
- 52:14Speaker 2: I I don't know about these red guys. Oh there
- 52:18Speaker 2: we go. Look they're taking off. They don't even know
- 52:21Speaker 2: the bag fell off. This is awesome, awesome reporting that
- 52:26Speaker 2: we're having here because of the fact golfers are leaving
- 52:29Speaker 2: bags because they didn't even strap them down on their bag.
- 52:32Speaker 2: I immediately have to have jams them out here and
- 52:35Speaker 2: check to see if there's DUI golf cart driving.
- 52:37Speaker 3: Was it one of those things where he forgot to
- 52:39Speaker 3: strap it in?
- 52:40Speaker 2: I see, I think so.
- 52:41Speaker 3: Or was it one of those things where somebody wanted
- 52:43Speaker 3: to be a clown and unstrapped.
- 52:44Speaker 2: See, that's not funny because they do that. Really people
- 52:48Speaker 2: do that. That to me is not fine. Then you're
- 52:50Speaker 2: scratching up your golf clubs or not cheat?
- 52:52Speaker 3: No, not at all.
- 52:54Speaker 2: No. Did you see the bear that took golf clubs
- 52:57Speaker 2: off of a golf cart and took off into the wood.
- 53:01Speaker 2: That was awesome. I did enjoy that, right?
- 53:03Speaker 3: What do you what do you do in that situation?
- 53:06Speaker 2: The dude's got my clubs? I mean, what do you
- 53:08Speaker 2: think he's saying to his wife? I mean, honey, I
- 53:11Speaker 2: went to the golf course and a bear took my
- 53:13Speaker 2: club She's like, you got too much drunk out on
- 53:16Speaker 2: the golf course. I don't believe a word you're saying.
- 53:19Speaker 3: Would you would you have chased the bear at all?
- 53:22Speaker 2: Would I've chased the bear?
- 53:24Speaker 3: I mean, maybe not ran after it, But would you
- 53:26Speaker 3: have at least seen got it?
- 53:27Speaker 2: I might have chased the bear. I might have been
- 53:30Speaker 2: that dumb and said I'm chasing the bear. So I know.
- 53:34Speaker 2: I love people. All right, If you're going to come
- 53:37Speaker 2: on the radio, you can come over here. And if
- 53:39Speaker 2: you're not going to come on, don't don't point at me.
- 53:43Speaker 2: Please don't point at me. All right. My name's Michael Bennett.
- 53:46Speaker 2: You're a part of the Chamber of the Saint Matthew's
- 53:49Speaker 2: Chamber of Commas. What is your name?
- 53:50Speaker 5: My name is Virginia harton On, the CEO of the Chamber.
- 53:52Speaker 2: Oh, she's the CEO.
- 53:54Speaker 5: That doesn't mean anything.
- 53:55Speaker 2: It means everything. Listen, if you say it, it means everything.
- 53:59Speaker 2: You are the if executive officer of Saint matt And
- 54:03Speaker 2: now tell us what that means.
- 54:04Speaker 5: Ah, I guess that means everything starts uphill and works
- 54:07Speaker 5: its way down.
- 54:09Speaker 2: What does for those of you, the listeners that don't know?
- 54:12Speaker 2: Tell us what Saint Matthew's Chamber Commerce does.
- 54:15Speaker 10: So.
- 54:15Speaker 5: Saint Matthew's Chamber of Commerce is a community membership program
- 54:19Speaker 5: that benefits small business. Our goal is to support small business,
- 54:22Speaker 5: help them succeed, help them have resources, because when you
- 54:25Speaker 5: start a business, you have a dream. That dream may
- 54:27Speaker 5: not include taxes and lawyers and health insurance and taxes.
- 54:31Speaker 2: You know, you've said taxes twice, right, do we have
- 54:34Speaker 2: to pay taxes? Do we forget this or something?
- 54:36Speaker 5: Sometimes twice yes.
- 54:41Speaker 2: And so when a small business that doesn't know to
- 54:44Speaker 2: be a part of the Chamber of Conference, explain to
- 54:46Speaker 2: everybody what the Chamber of Commerce will assist with these small.
- 54:50Speaker 5: Businesses, anything and everything. I mean, we will celebrate with
- 54:52Speaker 5: you when you have successes. We will cry with you
- 54:55Speaker 5: when there's you know, doors that close unfortunately. But our
- 54:58Speaker 5: goal is to help you be success, help you to
- 55:00Speaker 5: get your name out there, help you to, you know,
- 55:03Speaker 5: try avenues that you've never tried in order to market
- 55:05Speaker 5: your avenue. I'm looking at Pam Stallings from Salceritas right now.
- 55:10Speaker 5: She's been a long time sponsor of the Chamber and
- 55:12Speaker 5: a long time member.
- 55:13Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, Salceerrita's has been around in the Stallings family,
- 55:16Speaker 2: without a doubt, has done wonders, not just for Saint Matthew's.
- 55:19Speaker 2: But we'll get to why are you giving me a look?
- 55:22Speaker 2: Right there? I'm giving you a compliment and you give
- 55:24Speaker 2: me a mean, look, I mean, my goodness, but Pam
- 55:27Speaker 2: Stallings and her husband had just done wonders for not
- 55:30Speaker 2: just Saint Matthews, but for the city of Able as
- 55:32Speaker 2: well and Salceerrita's one of those great places that we
- 55:35Speaker 2: all are.
- 55:36Speaker 5: Correct. I have been a personal chamber member for over
- 55:38Speaker 5: twenty years.
- 55:39Speaker 2: Have you realized?
- 55:39Speaker 7: So?
- 55:40Speaker 5: I grew up in a family owned business, just like
- 55:41Speaker 5: Pam and I. What was your family owned called eventualities?
- 55:44Speaker 5: We were in an event production company COVID hit you know,
- 55:47Speaker 5: it knocked out about almost a half a million dollars
- 55:49Speaker 5: in two days. Yeah, my father passed away, so it
- 55:51Speaker 5: was a great storm. But I was a chamber member.
- 55:53Speaker 5: I was a board member. Yeah, and a seat opened,
- 55:55Speaker 5: And you know, I believe you've God put you where
- 55:57Speaker 5: you're supposed to be, and I'm supposed to be here.
- 55:59Speaker 2: So if a business wants to contact you, and this
- 56:01Speaker 2: is specifically only for Saint Matthew's area, correct, how did
- 56:04Speaker 2: they get a hold of you? How do they get
- 56:06Speaker 2: started with the Chamber of Commerce, kind of explain to
- 56:08Speaker 2: us what they need to do.
- 56:09Speaker 5: Well, I'm going to tell you Saint Matthew's Chamber is
- 56:11Speaker 5: not just in Saint Matthew's. We're fully in the state
- 56:13Speaker 5: of Kentucky. So the benefits firm, who is our major
- 56:16Speaker 5: sponsor today, helped us start a trust. So we have
- 56:19Speaker 5: an insurance program that benefits small businesses. You have to
- 56:21Speaker 5: have two employees up to one hundred and fifty, so
- 56:24Speaker 5: that was how we expanded. So our membership goes from
- 56:27Speaker 5: Bowling Green to Baduka to east western Kentucky.
- 56:31Speaker 2: My goodness. Ye, well, congratulations, and this has been a
- 56:35Speaker 2: great event. I mean, you picked a beautiful place to
- 56:37Speaker 2: come out to you. The weather could not have been
- 56:40Speaker 2: any better.
- 56:40Speaker 5: We've been planning that for ages.
- 56:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sure you have, Yeah, exactly. But congratulations and
- 56:46Speaker 2: looks like you've got a full crowd out here playing golf.
- 56:49Speaker 5: We are mixed out.
- 56:49Speaker 2: We sold out last week, did you really?
- 56:51Speaker 5: Yes? So this is our fourth year at this Yeah.
- 56:53Speaker 5: So it used to be around for about ten years past,
- 56:56Speaker 5: went away for about ten years and can we brought
- 56:57Speaker 5: it back?
- 56:58Speaker 2: Well? Congratulations side. I wish you the best of luck
- 57:01Speaker 2: and and if there's anything we could ever do for you,
- 57:04Speaker 2: you know we'll be here for you as well and
- 57:06Speaker 2: help you out in any way.
- 57:07Speaker 5: Anybody has any questions they can always go to the
- 57:09Speaker 5: Chamber Saint Matthews dot com.
- 57:10Speaker 2: There we go. All right, well, thank you very much.
- 57:12Speaker 2: It's great meaning to you. Absolutely, Pam Stallings, get off
- 57:15Speaker 2: your stinking phone and come over here. You got to
- 57:17Speaker 2: say hello just for a minute. See here she goes.
- 57:19Speaker 2: You got a fool with the phone. I mean, I
- 57:21Speaker 2: don't women in phones. My wife Patricia Bennett constantly on
- 57:25Speaker 2: her phone and it's like, how about paying attention to
- 57:27Speaker 2: me for a little bit.
- 57:28Speaker 4: But a small business owner like multitask.
- 57:33Speaker 2: Like no other. Right, yeah you do. Well, congratulations. You
- 57:37Speaker 2: know you've got sorcertas out here. And then you got
- 57:39Speaker 2: this other company.
- 57:41Speaker 4: Called it's called Game Day Men's Health. Yeah, well the
- 57:44Speaker 4: Big X Sports. We call it the Game Day Men's
- 57:46Speaker 4: Health text line.
- 57:47Speaker 5: So yes, it's fun.
- 57:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sorry, but except on just the cats because
- 57:52Speaker 2: it's it's called another one. Well, no, we we have
- 57:56Speaker 2: another sponsor for the Sorry, that's okay. It's a Whiskey
- 58:03Speaker 2: thief text line.
- 58:04Speaker 3: So whiskey thief.
- 58:06Speaker 4: We love them too, yes, yes.
- 58:08Speaker 2: Yes, but tell us about Salsarita's. You're out here sponsoring
- 58:12Speaker 2: the Saint Matthew's Chamber of Commerce as well.
- 58:15Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 58:15Speaker 2: Yeah, like you got three different locations.
- 58:17Speaker 5: We do Middletown, St.
- 58:19Speaker 4: Matthew's, the original twenty years. Middletown, I believe is like
- 58:24Speaker 4: fifteen now, can you believe that we've been around that long?
- 58:27Speaker 5: Came out some radio shows.
- 58:29Speaker 4: Back in the old station, and then we all been Shepherdsville.
- 58:34Speaker 4: It'll be two years off exit one seventeen as people
- 58:38Speaker 4: go up and down the highways to the Cats games,
- 58:40Speaker 4: right absolutely.
- 58:42Speaker 2: Yeah, it's doing really well here because you don't have
- 58:45Speaker 2: a microphone really well.
- 58:47Speaker 4: We have a drive through, so oh wow, a lot
- 58:50Speaker 4: of people, like a lot of people in Saint Matthews
- 58:54Speaker 4: since we're come through and hit us drive through on
- 58:57Speaker 4: the way the lakes in Nashville. So we've got a
- 59:01Speaker 4: lot of game. Yeah, we're we're doing a lot of
- 59:03Speaker 4: tailgating all over the place.
- 59:04Speaker 2: And it's always you. Your husband's never out here doing anything.
- 59:08Speaker 2: He's got you work, a little bit of a break.
- 59:11Speaker 5: He ran that tournament.
- 59:13Speaker 4: Oh we're both barely talking.
- 59:17Speaker 2: Oh you are. Oh there's already trouble in the marriage.
- 59:20Speaker 2: Barely talking to each other. Oh boy, Okay, that's daily
- 59:23Speaker 2: life in my life. So I'm always talking to my wife.
- 59:27Speaker 2: No it does not. I want my wife to respond
- 59:29Speaker 2: to me. I want her to talk to me. I
- 59:31Speaker 2: want her around. She's my best friend's yeah, exactly, so.
- 59:35Speaker 5: That we're good.
- 59:36Speaker 2: Well, thank you, Pam. It's good seeing you. Always know
- 59:39Speaker 2: it was going to be. Is that a good thing
- 59:42Speaker 2: or a bad thing? I really don't know how to
- 59:44Speaker 2: take this. I don't know if Pam Stallings likes me
- 59:47Speaker 2: or does not like me. I just don't, you know.
- 59:51Speaker 2: And y'all, y'all do such.
- 59:53Speaker 5: A great microphone.
- 59:55Speaker 2: That's okay. I mean, there's no camera around. I don't
- 59:58Speaker 2: like cameras. You don't like I don't like it. I
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: appreciate that. Yeah, she's complimenting me about you.
- 1:00:05Speaker 4: We're gonna get over here and do some chipping to
- 1:00:08Speaker 4: some bourbon whiskey.
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: That's what I like. There's whiskey thief over here? Is
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: it really okay? Good? That's the way. So you want
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: to tell him what this thing is? You did you
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: see it? You got they have a thing. Hey, I'm
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: good to see you.
- 1:00:21Speaker 6: Uh.
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: They have a thing over here where you can chip
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: and if you the golf ball hits one of the
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: bourbon bottles and it falls over, you get the bourbon bottle.
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: Here's my only issue with that, all right, I'm ready.
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: Is the bottle not gonna break?
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: No? No? So yeah, all right, so we're gonna watch
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: the first he So we're here at the tenth oh
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: it is? Is this? Okay? So how many beers do
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: you think it'll take him to hit one down the middle?
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: I bet he's already had three? Seriously, Yeah, okay. The
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: group that went before him was horrible, so they can't
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: be any worse than they.
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: Oh they did, you watched it all?
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: They were bad? Really, they are all over them.
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: That's the one thing about scrambles that I like. When
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: you've got bad golfers out here, you're you're okay because
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: somebody had a good one. Yeah, exactly, And so we
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: don't know which one it's gonna be. But uh, all right,
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: British Open is going on this weekend. That's all right.
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: So you got the Masters, let's rank them, Masters, US Open,
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: PGA Championship, and the British Open. Where do you rank?
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: Best golf tournament you love to watch all year? To
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: the least?
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: I would go Masters first, I'm right there with I
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: think I think most everybody would, just because the tradition
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: of it and the way the course plays every year
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: makes it very entertaining. Second for me probably is the
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: US Open, just because again how challenging the courses every
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: single year, no matter where they go, it feels like
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: the scores are very very low or high, however you
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: want to look at that, And then I would probably
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: throw the Open Championship, formally known as the British Open.
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: Third, it's not formally it's the British Open. That's the
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: snootiest thing that the Open. It drives me nuts because
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: they even advertise it. Oh, here we go. He's getting
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: Oh this is easy, top getting ready. He's got a
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: beard all the way down almost to his navel. He's
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: got a nice, sly little bit of a slice there, gorgeous.
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: If he cut, you know, a part of his calf
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: off on the backside, he would slice it even more so.
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: All right here, here's all right, michelob let's go. You're
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: supposed to be up. My gosh, man, you're always changing things.
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: I mean, do you want me to call I don't
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: remember what his name is, so all right, here he goes.
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: I'm terrible at names, you know this. IM have a
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: hard time to remember my wife's name. So uh, but
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: we'll see how this guy teas off. You get your
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: tuck unshut, I mean you need to tuck your shirt.
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: No, I disagree.
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: Oh that is a nice right down the middle.
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: Don't even need to hit.
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: No, they're done right, yeah zz top go sit in
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: the car. But I'm just kidding. Okay, here goes mc
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: light is getting ready midlight you can call it is
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: the ultra okay, ultra.
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: Oh and he's using a yellow ball after my heart,
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: not a good.
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: Ball to use in the fall. Oh look at that
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: that bear loped up. He's good to go drink more
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: ultra nice shot. That was a beaut But anyway, see,
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: now here's a professional guy. He's got his shirt tucked.
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: Dick, he's the only one that has a shirt took.
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: He's the only one exactly. He's clean shaven. You think so,
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: I bet. I bet he's the best one because he
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: looks he plays the part. He looks the part.
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: He's not out driving, michelob you.
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: Don't think so light is not going on or ultra
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: ultra ultra.
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: I don't. I don't think he's got him all right, we.
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: Should need nickname at least one golfer in every we
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: had JD. Shelburn out here a minute to go. That
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: stopped me, JD Jr. And JD's like, ah, I listened
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: to you every day, and I'm like, oh, thank you.
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: I appreciate that. But all right, here he goes he's
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: getting ready to hit. He's oh, he's dancing around there
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: too much. Just put the club down. Swing. That's the
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: one thing that irritates me when people take too long
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: to hit the ball. Yeah, told you it was the worst. Yeah,
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: he's no good. Okay, he looks good.
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: The golfers that look good are usually not good.
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: Really, because that's the one thing I like to do
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: when I go to the golf course. I like looking
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: appropriate and I enjoy that.
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: So but I don't think having your shirt untucked. Make
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: sure I don't think it's a terrible little it's a
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: bad look. When you go play golf, you have to
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: dress a certain way. What if I do this? Yes,
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: what if I because I do this all the time.
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: I'll tuck my shirt in, I'll look all good. I'll
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: go into the clubhouse, I'll pay for my round. Then
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: we get out on the course and usually sometime within
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: the first or second hole, I'm like, screw this, and
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: I untucked my shirt every time.
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: Disrespectful. If it's the club rule, if it's the golf
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: course rule, you're disrespecting the game. That's a traditionalists.
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: But there's golf courses where the rule is your shirt
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: has to be tucked in.
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, they're sure is uh so if you go
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: play at a country club, generally a private club has
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: rules on how you dress. You have to wear a
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: collared shirt, you have to wear a belt, you have
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: to wear appropriate shorts or pants, and your tuck has
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: to be tucked. Your shirt has to be tucked. There
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: goes JD again a belt, yeah, oh absolutely. And and
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: there have been clubs I have been to where people
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: were not wearing a collared shirt and they said, sir,
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: I apologize. We have shirts right here you could purchase,
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: but you have to wear a collared shirt.
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: The collar shirt thing I understand. But being being tucked in, yes,
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: that doesn't really it is talk about snooty.
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: Well, that's the rule. You respect the rules. They respect
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: the game, all right, This part I was surprise about.
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: Of course, the British Open raised the amount of money
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: you could win this year by one hundred thousand dollars.
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: But that's it, That's what I thought. So three point
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: two million dollars winner's going to get in the British Open.
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: Look at my notes, you stair off until one read anyway?
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: Stop it. The total now is seventeen point seventy five
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: million up a half a million, for the total prize
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: of the British Open, the Masters and the US Open.
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: Are you ready for this? So seventeen point seventy five
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: million dollars for the total person the British Open, the
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: Masters in the US Open are the exact same, twenty
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: twenty two point five million dollars respectively. And then the
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: PGA is worth twenty point five million dollars. Are you
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: surprised the Open, the British Open is the least. I
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: was really surprised, not particularly, No why, I mean, it's
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, kind I don't know, I don't know
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: how to feel about that, because the PGA has made
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: this concerted effort to really up the prize pools and
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: all these tournaments across the board, not even just the Majors,
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: but yeah, I mean with all the travel expenses and
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: stuff that go into having to get overseas and all that.
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: You would think it would be a little bit higher
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: of a prize pool.
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: I thought it would be equal to to me, they
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: all four should be about the same amount. Yeah, And
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: the fact that it's like five million dollars less, that
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: was surprising to me that big of a difference between
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: because the British Open is the oldest of all of them.
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: When did the US open? The Masters surpass them? And
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: no wonder all these Europeans want to come over to
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: America and play.
- 1:07:42Speaker 3: If you win it though, you're not going to be
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: complaining that it's less money, I'll.
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: Care you give me three point two million dollars. I mean,
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: you need to be giving me more money. I am
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: not accepting this gigantic check for three million dollars.
- 1:07:56Speaker 3: It's all a one is one of those giant checks,
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: one that I can put on their twenty five dollars.
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: Okay, I'd be happy to give you one. You want
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: to say, Justin Caitlin or do you want to have
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: in quotation scoots.
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: No, Justin Kaitlin works. And I'll happily take that twenty
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: five dollars. That would go a long way for me. Well,
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: I would deduct it because you owe me two lunches. Okay, yeah,
- 1:08:18Speaker 3: I'm still waiting. That's fair.
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: I don't think it's ever gonna happen.
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: Well, because you're never here.
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: I'm here now and I'm here for a while. We
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: got to take a break. Go get me lunch right now?
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: How's that I mean? I uh? Anyway, this is a
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: beautiful place whereunt it Eagle Creek Golf Course out in Lagrange, Kentucky.
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: If you want to come by and say hello, we're
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: going to be here another thirty minutes. I'd love for
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: a couple of y'all to come. But it's okay. I
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: know it's a long drive out here. It has been.
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: I would like to do the show here for every
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: day now, Okay, this is what I'd like to do.
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: We drive because how long you asked me how long
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: it took you to get for me to get here?
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: How long did it take you to get here? So
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: an hour.
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: From my house? I don't really know because I went
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: to the stud udio first to prep some things, make
- 1:09:01Speaker 3: sure we were good to go for being out here.
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: But it took me about twenty five minutes from the studio, Joe.
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: And then how long does it take you get to
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: the studio about twenty twenty two, so it's almost almost
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: forty yeah, forty five minutes to an hour. Good gosh, okay,
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: what good thing?
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: I like driving?
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: You know what we're gonna do the show?
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: Good thing gases.
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: We'll do it again tomorrow. How's that the show?
- 1:09:20Speaker 5: Right?
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: I'll be on Nolan Lake? Oh real, Oh it's late
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: season Lake season baby. Yeah. No Lan no Lan, Yeah,
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: Nolan no Lan. Anyway, all right, we'll take a break
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: right now. Stay right there. If you want to text
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: in five O two four one four fourteen fifty, this
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: is just a case.
- 1:10:00Speaker 10: I want to tell you a story about the house
- 1:10:03Speaker 10: in Blue.
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: I'll come home on Friday. How to tell a lady
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: I I lost my job? She said that. Don't be
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: fun me follow two four one four fourteen fifty. If
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: you want to text in on the Whiskey Thief text line,
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: I'll get to your text in just a couple of minutes.
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: But you know, I'm sitting here and she's like, what
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: she's I don't know why she's whispering? What what's I'm
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: sorry to ask that, what's what station are you on?
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: It's not a problem.
- 1:10:37Speaker 3: Bring screaming from the mountaintop exactly.
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: And I just said, man, we're on the Big X
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: fourteen fifty and ninety six point one on the FM,
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: So there you go. Oh we got golfers at number ten.
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: Joel Damon's up on the tea. Who is that Joel Damon?
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: You know, Joel PGA guy, Joel Damon. Go get him Joel.
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: I don't know who he is, but I'll say it's
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: really his name. No, are you messing with Joel Damon?
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: Always hat. He wears bucket hats. That's why you're saying
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: that bucket hats are underrated. I just wanted to tell
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: you right now. Oh yeah, yeah, pamigrees. Thank you, pagrees.
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: But uh, all right, ponytail. You like the ponytail. I'm
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: not going to tease him.
- 1:11:21Speaker 3: He kind of looks like a wrestler in the nineties.
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: That's a good description. But yeah, I think bucket hats
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: are the most underrated hats on golf.
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: My dad loves them.
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: My dad loved him. My youngest son, Mason, took all
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: my dad's bucket hats. He still wears him today. He
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: looks good out there, all right, let's see. Oh yeah,
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: he's got arms but no legs into it. So it
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: goes about one hundred and fifty feet.
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: That's me. I'm all arms.
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: No, here he goes. He's getting ready to swing right now,
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: So let's get to our golf voice. Yeah, it's going
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: into the woods. So uh, but not a bad shot.
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: He's out there in the fairway. I'm taking Okay, good.
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: Uh did you hear about the Texas Attorney General and
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: the Texas Tech story?
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: No?
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: Oh boy, Okay is this in regardless of course it is.
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: This is going to tell you how the state of
- 1:12:11Speaker 2: Texas and Texas Tech is going to be the probably
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: taking over Notre Dame as far as the most dislike
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: school in the country. Okay. One day before the Texas
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: Attorney General threatened legal action against the Big twelve conference.
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: Are you ready for this? Over potential sanctions against Texas Tech,
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: the Texas Attorney General received a very large political donation.
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: Do you want to know who this very large donation
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: was from. It was from the chairman of the Texas
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: Tech Board of Regents. Gave him a check for two
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: hundred and seventy four thousand dollars.
- 1:12:57Speaker 3: Unbelievable.
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: And this is the same person that eve A twenty
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: five million dollar donation to Texas Tech football program.
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, my whole life, I've kind of.
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: And then I know, hold on. And then one day later,
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: the Texas Attorney General issued a public statement threatening to
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: sue the Big Twelve if the conference takes sanctions against
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: Texas Tech for playing quarterback Brendan Sorosby. That's the largest
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: donation that the chairman of the board of regions for
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: Texas Tech had given to any politician in Texas.
- 1:13:34Speaker 3: My whole life, I have thought that people that don't
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: like sports are kind of psychotic. Yes, But the older
- 1:13:41Speaker 3: I get and the more stories that I hear like this,
- 1:13:45Speaker 3: I understand it because no matter the level, sports are
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: just shady. Not all not all sports, not all teams
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: are guilty of it. But we see situations like this
- 1:13:58Speaker 3: far too often anymore.
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: Yeah, and how does that make you feel about uh,
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: Texas Tech knowing that they were doing something like this.
- 1:14:07Speaker 3: I mean, Texas Tech felt has felt shady for the
- 1:14:10Speaker 3: last couple of years, at least their football program has.
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: I mean they were It was well out there that
- 1:14:17Speaker 3: they spent the most money in college football last season,
- 1:14:20Speaker 3: and heck, they got into the playoffs. So I guess
- 1:14:22Speaker 3: it worked. But yeah, they played for a conference.
- 1:14:25Speaker 5: That.
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: Come on.
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: I've never really, I've never really cared for Texas Tech
- 1:14:29Speaker 3: to be even when my guys.
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: I didn't know anything about Tech.
- 1:14:32Speaker 3: Even when my guy Bobby Knight went there, I still
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: didn't like Texas Tech. So I've just never really.
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: Cared for them. That's probably when Texas Tech came to
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: U known throughout the country, is when Bobby Knight went there. Probably,
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: and I think now at this point, Texas Tech is
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: going to regard it as one of the sleaziest out there.
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: What the heck?
- 1:14:50Speaker 3: Why do we have cars driving.
- 1:14:53Speaker 2: Cars on the golf course.
- 1:14:55Speaker 3: I've never been more confused.
- 1:14:57Speaker 2: What is happening exactly? It's like, Okay, that's one weird
- 1:15:01Speaker 2: thing right there. Okay, hello there, how are you doing?
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: Just drive your truck anywhere you want to? This is
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: This is Lagrange after.
- 1:15:07Speaker 3: Alidoy oh Man.
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: Ashley Thompson. If you're listening, I'm across the street from
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: your neighborhood. She's not listening. I don't even know why
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: I'm saying that. What do you think about the Canadian
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: wildfires and how it's affecting all the cities across the
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: Midwest and the Northeast. I mean.
- 1:15:24Speaker 3: They said that we I guess it was yesterday. It
- 1:15:27Speaker 3: was supposed to be a little hazy here. I didn't
- 1:15:29Speaker 3: ever really see a haze in this guy, But I
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: did see a picture from the Chicago Airport that was wild.
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: That was wild.
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: The person said it smelled like wood and it did
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: it really? Yeah, it's crazy.
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: Well, so every year down in Florida, you know, sand
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: from the Sahara Desert comes from Africa.
- 1:15:48Speaker 3: We experienced that this summer. Isn't that wild all the
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: way up here? Isn't that weird? I mean that freaks
- 1:15:54Speaker 3: me out. Now, you got the wildfires. And here's the
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: thing about it, it's affecting baseball games. So the Phillies
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: are hosting I think it's the Mets tonight, So it's
- 1:16:07Speaker 3: affected their game, the wildfire because the pollution level is
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: so high that they're now taking the game from seven
- 1:16:14Speaker 3: o'clock and now playing at six o'clock.
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: I don't know what an hour does.
- 1:16:18Speaker 3: One whole hour?
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I did not get that part of it. Hey,
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 1:16:21Speaker 3: Those are really nice to see you. That doesn't make
- 1:16:23Speaker 3: a lot of sense.
- 1:16:24Speaker 2: It didn't to me. Either. But they said Detroit, Michigan
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: yesterday was the most air the worst air quality in
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: the world because of the Canadian fires. It's crazy. It's
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: affecting Chicago, it's effect affecting Milwaukee. It's all. It's going
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: over to Philadelphia and New York. It's just crazy how
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: these wildfires are creating havoc in all these different cities.
- 1:16:51Speaker 3: I mean, you just never know. I'm honestly, I'm surprised
- 1:16:54Speaker 3: we don't see more.
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: Around here wildfires, wow, because it's just there's a lot
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: out of woods, trees, grass. But we get a lot
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: of rain here.
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: Yeah, but we've had years where we don't and you
- 1:17:08Speaker 3: still just like, I don't remember a wildfire in Kentucky
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: or Indiana, or.
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: I don't remember going around here.
- 1:17:13Speaker 3: Dropped down to Gallenburg Fair Share.
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: Smoky remember that there's two or three the bear came about,
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: wasn't it Smoky the Bear was because he was saved
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: in the wildfire. I met Smoky, the real Smoky the
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: Bear when I was a kid. No, you didn't, Yes,
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: I did, I promise you. They had Smoky the Bear
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: set up in Gatlinburg at some place. Well, they said
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: it was Smoky the Bear.
- 1:17:39Speaker 3: It wasn't.
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: Don't tell me that. That'll ruin my life. Okay, Just
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: to let you know, I was proud that I have
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: met a few people. I was always proud that I
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: met Smoky the Bear, and I was always proud to
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: look at me, I'm talking to you. I was always
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: proud that I met Colonel Sanders.
- 1:17:54Speaker 3: There you go.
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: Yeah. Do you remember the restaurant? I think it's still there,
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: Claudia Sanders. All right, so you know that was his wife.
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: They lived right there in chebby Ball, and my dad said,
- 1:18:03Speaker 2: while we're waiting in this hour long line, let's go
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: knock on the front door. And so I, like an idiot,
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: I'm what five six years old. I go knock on
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: the front door of the house and there he comes.
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: That's awesome. He gave me a dime there you go. Yeah,
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: I don't know why.
- 1:18:19Speaker 3: That was probably like a dollar fifty.
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: Well that's a lot of money back in the day.
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: But I just I looked at that and I'm like,
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: does he think I'm poor? What am I going to
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: do with a dime? I looked at my dad and said,
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: why do you give me a dime? Yeah?
- 1:18:32Speaker 3: I need to go to that restaurant. I'm over there
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: like once basketball season starts. I'm there a lot, are you, Yeah,
- 1:18:39Speaker 3: over that way, and I just I've never stopped in.
- 1:18:41Speaker 2: I love their fried chicken. I love their all right.
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: Do you like uh fried apples?
- 1:18:48Speaker 3: No?
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: Not really.
- 1:18:49Speaker 3: I can eat them. If that's the only thing that
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: we have for dessert, I can eat them. I'd rather
- 1:18:54Speaker 3: have a million other things, all right.
- 1:18:56Speaker 2: Never mind, then I love fried apples. That's almost dessert
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: to me. All right. Would you think about the news
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: about Matt Ponatowski, the four star commit UK football quarterback
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: that has evidently a lot of people are talking about this,
- 1:19:10Speaker 2: has enrolled at the University of Kentucky.
- 1:19:13Speaker 3: Yeah. Probably at the end of the day, the smartest
- 1:19:15Speaker 3: decision for him.
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: Tell me why.
- 1:19:17Speaker 3: I just think not only from a money perspective. I mean,
- 1:19:20Speaker 3: you're gonna make more money in three years at UK
- 1:19:23Speaker 3: than you would have in your first three years with
- 1:19:24Speaker 3: the Reds organization. But I just think it's better. You're
- 1:19:28Speaker 3: gonna get more exposure playing collegiate baseball and football too.
- 1:19:33Speaker 3: Do we even know if he's gonna play both?
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I think you will. I think you would. It's
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: according to whether or not will Stein will let him
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: right now. I think what it comes down to is like, Okay,
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: what do you want to do in life? Do you
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: want to play baseball in your career or do you
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: want to play football? And so I think once you
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: come down to that decision, yes, there are a few
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: players out there that can play both sports. But man,
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: when you're a quarterback, can you afford or to play
- 1:20:01Speaker 2: both sports at the same time and completely miss spring practice?
- 1:20:06Speaker 3: I mean you've got to put an emphasis on one
- 1:20:08Speaker 3: or the other, right, Like, you can't try to treat
- 1:20:11Speaker 3: them both equally and try to do what you need
- 1:20:15Speaker 3: to do for both. One one of them has to
- 1:20:17Speaker 3: be more important.
- 1:20:18Speaker 2: Hey, clearly he's gonna make more money at UK than
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: he wouldo with the Reds. Is that fair to say?
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: Do you think you think the Reds were trying to
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: come up with some kind of deal that would take
- 1:20:27Speaker 2: care of him and surpass how much he was gonna make.
- 1:20:30Speaker 3: I mean that, by all accounts, the Reds were trying
- 1:20:33Speaker 3: to make something happen, and I read several reports. But
- 1:20:37Speaker 3: at the end of the day, kid's gonna do what
- 1:20:39Speaker 3: the kids wants to do and living in single a
- 1:20:43Speaker 3: double a for the next two three years. It doesn't
- 1:20:45Speaker 3: sound like fun. I might as well go to college.
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: Live it up. Yeah, And that's the thing about it.
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: Are you texting people while we're sitting down on the radio.
- 1:20:51Speaker 3: Okay, well, I got to report that something happened to
- 1:20:54Speaker 3: the feat so okay, are we are? Everything's good on
- 1:20:58Speaker 3: my end, so I don't know what would have happened.
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: I will say this. Let's get to a couple of
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: these text messages. Forty eight handle says, wish you guys
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: could host a show remotely from my neighborhood. Okay, well,
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: Portland is his neighborhood. Unfortunately, we don't have a golf
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: course to host. The most notable site we have as
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: a homeless camp at twenty second in Bank. That sounds
- 1:21:23Speaker 2: real safe.
- 1:21:25Speaker 3: Can you imagine we're out forty handling? We are out.
- 1:21:28Speaker 5: You know.
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: The funny part about it is I'd probably do it,
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: and I'd probably have some of those people on the
- 1:21:33Speaker 2: radio with me. To me talking to someone that chooses
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: a lifestyle like that, would I would be interested in
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: talking to local? John said, the station feed is out.
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: We are hearing national coverage.
- 1:21:46Speaker 3: All right, let's break and then Okay.
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: Well, we'll go ahead and figure that out. Then all right,
- 1:21:50Speaker 2: thank you, John. Let's go ahead and take a break
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: Fabo two four fourteen fifty. If you want to get
- 1:21:56Speaker 2: back on here with us on the Whiskey Thief text lines,
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: stay right there. We got one more segment of just
- 1:22:00Speaker 2: the Cats on this Friday.
- 1:22:04Speaker 10: I'm out dollars, you know, can I'll stay with you
- 1:22:07Speaker 10: maybe a couple of days, he said, let me go
- 1:22:12Speaker 10: down as my wife come out of my.
- 1:22:15Speaker 6: House busted flat and Ben Rouge waiting for train on
- 1:22:27Speaker 6: us feeling news faded.
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: As margin.
- 1:22:33Speaker 6: Bobby thumed diesel down just a far ranging the road
- 1:22:38Speaker 6: a song the wit new.
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: Happerabo two four fourteen fifty. You want to text in
- 1:22:48Speaker 2: on the Whiskey Beef text line as we come to
- 1:22:51Speaker 2: our last segment of the day. Yeah, well there's another
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: person that said we're off the air. We're back on
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: the air by yeah, okay, good all right. Uh by
- 1:22:58Speaker 2: the way, listeners, let's me know if we're back on
- 1:23:00Speaker 2: the air, because I don't I don't trust Justin. Let's
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: just let's just make certain we are on the air. So,
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: but we got our last segment here. Did you see
- 1:23:09Speaker 2: the story about the Blue Angel that flew over really
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: close to the flyover at Pensacolab What are we doing?
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: All right? So you're are hold on now. So you're
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: of the opinion they should not have done that, because
- 1:23:21Speaker 2: what came out is a lot of people criticize, a
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: lot of people were okay with and said this is awesome.
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: So the Secretary of the Navy dismissed the the concern,
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: stating that no reprimands will happen, no firings, no problem.
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: That's the sound of freedom. So I want to know
- 1:23:41Speaker 2: from you because you kind of indicated now you're as
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: far as a jet flying over really close on a
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: public beach, you stand.
- 1:23:52Speaker 3: You would what if that happened if I was there
- 1:23:55Speaker 3: living that First of all, that was the plan, right,
- 1:23:59Speaker 3: that Pile did exactly what he was supposed to.
- 1:24:01Speaker 2: It's a part of They called it something. Uh, I
- 1:24:07Speaker 2: can't remember what it was called. Oh, his breakfast with
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: the Blues is what they called it. So they were
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: supposed to fly over there. I don't know if the
- 1:24:14Speaker 2: flyover was supposed to happen that close, that close.
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: Yes, So if I was on the beach, I think
- 1:24:19Speaker 3: that would have been really cool. I mean, feeling that
- 1:24:21Speaker 3: force and all that, I think it would have been awesome. Yes,
- 1:24:24Speaker 3: But when I first saw that video, though, only the
- 1:24:26Speaker 3: first thing that jumped out to me was wow, dangerous
- 1:24:30Speaker 3: was that? I just I feel like that was dangerous,
- 1:24:33Speaker 3: Just feel like it was reckless because you've got you
- 1:24:36Speaker 3: got sand going everywhere, you got tense blowing everywhere like
- 1:24:39Speaker 3: that's it felt like a dangerous situation.
- 1:24:42Speaker 2: I thought it was awesome. I mean it was. I mean,
- 1:24:44Speaker 2: if I'm standing there and I get my phone out
- 1:24:47Speaker 2: as fast as I can, uh and and record that
- 1:24:51Speaker 2: jet flying over us like that in creating habit, I
- 1:24:54Speaker 2: would be like, this is the most awesome thing I've
- 1:24:57Speaker 2: ever experienced. I would have loved it.
- 1:24:59Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, No, Like I said, I would have
- 1:25:01Speaker 3: loved it had I been there as well. But just
- 1:25:03Speaker 3: seeing the video from Afar, it just felt like something
- 1:25:06Speaker 3: that didn't need to happen.
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: Really, Okay, all right there, there's there's your Karen of
- 1:25:11Speaker 2: the day right there.
- 1:25:13Speaker 3: Not me, old man.
- 1:25:15Speaker 2: I just think that's fun having something like that happen
- 1:25:18Speaker 2: right over my head and being able to brag that.
- 1:25:21Speaker 3: I was there the airport and I want to say
- 1:25:26Speaker 3: Buenos Aires. That's right off the beach.
- 1:25:29Speaker 2: No, it's not Buenos Aires.
- 1:25:31Speaker 3: Uh, that's what's the one I'm thinking of that is
- 1:25:34Speaker 3: Saint Croix where they have to like literally fly right
- 1:25:38Speaker 3: over the beach. I've been there, okay, and I've been
- 1:25:41Speaker 3: there for a takeoff, and you'll have a big old plane,
- 1:25:44Speaker 3: big gigantic passenger jets flying taking off right there and
- 1:25:48Speaker 3: people try to hold onto the fence and everything just
- 1:25:53Speaker 3: goes into the water. That is one of the coolest
- 1:25:55Speaker 3: experiences I've heard because people don't realize they cannot appreciate
- 1:26:01Speaker 3: how much thrust a gin engine makes until you were
- 1:26:05Speaker 3: right behind it.
- 1:26:06Speaker 2: It's fantastic.
- 1:26:07Speaker 3: Yeah, planes are awesome. I freaking love them. Okay, because
- 1:26:10Speaker 3: you know I'm ready for you to take me for
- 1:26:12Speaker 3: a flight. Yeah, No, you gotta finish your stuff.
- 1:26:16Speaker 2: I gotta finish my stulf for I can take anybody
- 1:26:18Speaker 2: with me. Finish your stuff, yes, sir, Oh yeah, yes, sir.
- 1:26:21Speaker 2: I'll be glad because my wife won't go up with me.
- 1:26:23Speaker 3: She won't know i'd go up with you.
- 1:26:25Speaker 2: I think she's afraid that, you know, I'd want her
- 1:26:27Speaker 2: to join a club, but she has no part of that.
- 1:26:30Speaker 3: But there's a business for that in Las Vegas. Did
- 1:26:33Speaker 3: you know that I saw that.
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: It's kind of gross. It is kind of I think
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: that's gross. It's not anything I would want to go up.
- 1:26:40Speaker 2: And it's like, Okay, how clean is this right? This
- 1:26:42Speaker 2: plane in this stuff.
- 1:26:43Speaker 3: Definitely would need to see the thorough exactly.
- 1:26:47Speaker 2: You would have to deefumigate have has has met mask
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: and all that kind of crap. No, I'm not doing that. Uh,
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: Jerry Rice. I loved this story, I know, and it's
- 1:26:58Speaker 2: a good one. Just just hold on. You know, you're
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: along for the ride these two hours of Jessica. You're right.
- 1:27:04Speaker 2: Jerry Rice was playing in a golf tournament. If you
- 1:27:06Speaker 2: don't know who Jerry Rice is where you've been, He's
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: the former forty nine ers wide receiver Hall of Fame player,
- 1:27:12Speaker 2: you name it. He's playing in a golf tournament and
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: in the middle of this swing, a heckler bothers him.
- 1:27:21Speaker 2: I did see this, and he doesn't hit a great
- 1:27:23Speaker 2: ball and he chases the heckler. A lot of people
- 1:27:27Speaker 2: are criticizing Jerry Rice for chasing the heckler. They should well, okay,
- 1:27:32Speaker 2: so you're of the point that he should not have.
- 1:27:34Speaker 2: He just should have laughed it off.
- 1:27:36Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 1:27:37Speaker 2: Yeah, that's how I mean.
- 1:27:38Speaker 3: It's loser behavior to go after the guy. Jerry, Maybe
- 1:27:40Speaker 3: you should just be better at golf. I don't know,
- 1:27:42Speaker 3: there's an idea for you.
- 1:27:44Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: I kind of felt the same way. It's like, what
- 1:27:46Speaker 2: are you doing? It's like, why are you? My goodness?
- 1:27:50Speaker 2: That guy. I hope there's enough beer, but oh, that's all.
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: I've never seen a beer belly in my life.
- 1:27:57Speaker 3: I bet he hits this about four hundred. You think,
- 1:27:59Speaker 3: so four hundred.
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: Are we gonna yell for when he hits the ball? No?
- 1:28:03Speaker 3: I mean four hundred?
- 1:28:05Speaker 2: Really? Yeah? The one guy staring at us, Okay, yes,
- 1:28:07Speaker 2: we're watching you, Yes we are, and we are.
- 1:28:10Speaker 3: Oh good shot?
- 1:28:12Speaker 2: Yeah not? Oh the slices bit, Yeah, that's too bad.
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: You gotta pull through at the botty though. Listen, we
- 1:28:19Speaker 2: might criticize you even more when you get up there. Okay,
- 1:28:26Speaker 2: but uh, anyway, I like how they have matching outfits.
- 1:28:29Speaker 2: Have you noticed this? They're all gray pants and black
- 1:28:31Speaker 2: shirtscept for the one white belts. He didn't. I mean,
- 1:28:34Speaker 2: he's got navy blue shorts. Here we go with the untucked.
- 1:28:38Speaker 2: The other three guys tucked it. Now. I will criticize
- 1:28:41Speaker 2: the one guy with a head on backwards. I don't
- 1:28:43Speaker 2: like That's fine. Guys of a certain age should not
- 1:28:46Speaker 2: put off their hats on backwards.
- 1:28:48Speaker 3: How old do you think he is? He's in his thirties. No,
- 1:28:50Speaker 3: he is not in his thirties.
- 1:28:51Speaker 2: His go tea is gray. Are you kidding?
- 1:28:53Speaker 3: My got is gray. I'm in my thirties.
- 1:28:55Speaker 2: Yeah, but he's he's gotta be in his fifties at least,
- 1:28:58Speaker 2: I mean forties, if not in his fifty he's all right.
- 1:29:00Speaker 2: Here he goes, he's getting ready to hit. Oh not
- 1:29:02Speaker 2: a good swing. Yeah, he pulled that one. You could
- 1:29:04Speaker 2: kind of tell just by the swing right there he
- 1:29:07Speaker 2: is going to be pulling all right. Here goes mister,
- 1:29:09Speaker 2: hat on backwards. I gotta wear mine on backwards because
- 1:29:11Speaker 2: it's cool even though the sun is out, and you
- 1:29:14Speaker 2: might need the hate.
- 1:29:16Speaker 3: Maybe the shadow of the bill mess with his eyes.
- 1:29:19Speaker 2: Then don't wear a hat. Okay, just don't wear a hat.
- 1:29:22Speaker 2: You wanted to get his head roasted. That's not my problem.
- 1:29:25Speaker 2: I mean, neither is.
- 1:29:26Speaker 3: Him wearing a backwards hat. But you're making it your problem.
- 1:29:29Speaker 2: It is my problem. I just I don't know if
- 1:29:31Speaker 2: he likes you saying that out last, by the way. Okay,
- 1:29:33Speaker 2: so please don't repeat that. I'm making fun of his
- 1:29:35Speaker 2: go tell his hat on backwards. But all right, here
- 1:29:38Speaker 2: he's getting he's addressing the ball. He's taking forever to
- 1:29:40Speaker 2: get up to the ball. Another another issue that I have.
- 1:29:43Speaker 2: It's just like, get up there and swing and hit
- 1:29:45Speaker 2: the ball, okay, especially in a scramble, exactly nobody cares
- 1:29:48Speaker 2: where you're hitting the ball. Here he goes a good one, yes,
- 1:29:51Speaker 2: mister had on backwards. Oh no, everybody slices on number ten.
- 1:29:56Speaker 2: They go into the trees. I don't get it. I
- 1:29:59Speaker 2: don't think that that's what they're trying to do for memos.
- 1:30:02Speaker 2: Getting ready to hit now because he is not dressed
- 1:30:05Speaker 2: like the other two guys. The guys look nice. They did.
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: They got gray gray pants on, a white belt and
- 1:30:10Speaker 2: a black shirt.
- 1:30:11Speaker 3: And that's right.
- 1:30:13Speaker 2: I think it looks great. All right, mister I didn't
- 1:30:15Speaker 2: get the memo. Is up there, he's he's hitting quickly.
- 1:30:17Speaker 2: His feet are way too close together, though, I don't
- 1:30:20Speaker 2: it's the best fall, my god. Yeah, he is shot.
- 1:30:24Speaker 3: That's a perfect right there.
- 1:30:25Speaker 2: Yeah, we like that. That is a ball, all right,
- 1:30:28Speaker 2: So home run dirty. Let's talk about that. I have
- 1:30:31Speaker 2: no idea what you're saying. I'm on the radio. But uh,
- 1:30:34Speaker 2: I think he said first time for everything. Oh say, okay,
- 1:30:37Speaker 2: first time Okay, good for him. Uh, I'm not surprised
- 1:30:40Speaker 2: by this. Let me get through it before you say anything.
- 1:30:43Speaker 2: The twenty twenty six home run Derby on Netflix resulted
- 1:30:46Speaker 2: in five point three million viewers, equates the lowest viewership
- 1:30:51Speaker 2: in over twenty years. Are you surprised by that?
- 1:30:54Speaker 3: Not really? No, we talked about this a little bit
- 1:30:57Speaker 3: on my show, but just he did I don't remember, well,
- 1:31:00Speaker 3: not we but me and the Texters, but just the
- 1:31:04Speaker 3: way Netflix didn't market it right, Like I don't, I
- 1:31:07Speaker 3: don't know. I don't think a lot of people even
- 1:31:10Speaker 3: knew that it was on Netflix, so that that was
- 1:31:13Speaker 3: their problem. If they had done a better job of marketing,
- 1:31:16Speaker 3: would there be more people have tuned in? Probably so,
- 1:31:18Speaker 3: because everybody has Netflix, right, so I think they would
- 1:31:22Speaker 3: have tuned in for it.
- 1:31:23Speaker 2: But I wouldn't have Netflix if I had the choice.
- 1:31:26Speaker 2: I don't like Netflix. Why because they're constricting. I mean,
- 1:31:29Speaker 2: every time I turn around, I want to go watch Netflix. Well,
- 1:31:32Speaker 2: you got too many people watching right now. You got
- 1:31:35Speaker 2: You've got too many TV signed.
- 1:31:36Speaker 3: Now there's rules you have to follow.
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:31:39Speaker 2: When I go watch YouTube TV, there are no rules
- 1:31:42Speaker 2: at all. When I go watch Hulu and I go
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: watch anything else, HBO, Max, any of them, there are
- 1:31:47Speaker 2: no rules. Netflix is by.
- 1:31:49Speaker 3: Far the Hulu.
- 1:31:50Speaker 2: Hulu restricts you, not that I've experienced.
- 1:31:53Speaker 3: You can. I think you can only change your home
- 1:31:55Speaker 3: location like four times a year.
- 1:31:56Speaker 2: HBO. Really, I'm canceling Hulu. I listen. I would cancel
- 1:32:01Speaker 2: all of them if they have all those kinds of restrictions.
- 1:32:04Speaker 2: I gotta constantly get this crap filled out, and it's
- 1:32:07Speaker 2: like enough enough. Is the NBA really delaying next season
- 1:32:11Speaker 2: scheduled due to Lebron James. No, that's what Adam Schiffler
- 1:32:16Speaker 2: Silver said. No, the Commissioner of the NBA literally said,
- 1:32:24Speaker 2: we want Lebron to make a decision the TV before
- 1:32:28Speaker 2: before we schedule opening week Christmas.
- 1:32:31Speaker 3: He needs to make a decision in terms of TV.
- 1:32:33Speaker 3: They may be delaying it, but as the schedule as
- 1:32:36Speaker 3: a whole, No, absolutely not.
- 1:32:38Speaker 2: The TV has everything to do with the schedule. And
- 1:32:40Speaker 2: when I heard Adam Silver, the commissioner of the NBA
- 1:32:44Speaker 2: say this, I'm like, you have got to be kidding me.
- 1:32:47Speaker 2: What does anybody really want Lebron to come back? Other
- 1:32:50Speaker 2: than the true die die, die hard fans of Lebron James.
- 1:32:55Speaker 3: I do think there's a faction of people that want
- 1:32:58Speaker 3: to see him because that's where he should finish his career.
- 1:33:03Speaker 3: It feels like the perfect bookend. But in terms of
- 1:33:07Speaker 3: him actually playing, no, I mean, he leaves a lot
- 1:33:10Speaker 3: to be desired these days.
- 1:33:11Speaker 2: Well, I mean, but he's still good. Even pat Rally
- 1:33:14Speaker 2: he's he's good for half a season. Yeah, even pat
- 1:33:17Speaker 2: Riley was saying he's been trying to talk to Lebon
- 1:33:19Speaker 2: about coming to Miami, who spent what four or five
- 1:33:21Speaker 2: years down there with the heat.
- 1:33:23Speaker 3: Yeah, but this is what I said on our show.
- 1:33:25Speaker 3: Going to Miami as a forty two year old versus
- 1:33:28Speaker 3: going as a twenty seven to twenty eight year old a.
- 1:33:31Speaker 2: Lot different, all right. The Familia plays tomorrow. Law Familia
- 1:33:35Speaker 2: plays tomorrow at noon at Historic Memorial Coliseum against the Bill.
- 1:33:40Speaker 2: It's gonna be the first of three games. Of course,
- 1:33:43Speaker 2: they play again Monday, and then game three will be
- 1:33:45Speaker 2: if needed, be back in Lexington at Historic Memorial and
- 1:33:49Speaker 2: the game will be in Louisville on Monday, isn't it
- 1:33:53Speaker 2: at at Freedom Hall? Which I think is cool prediction.
- 1:33:57Speaker 2: As far as what's going to happen tomorrow.
- 1:34:00Speaker 3: I just I don't see a world where La Familia
- 1:34:04Speaker 3: has any success in this. I just with the way
- 1:34:06Speaker 3: the roster sits now, it's just it's looking rough.
- 1:34:09Speaker 2: I'm right there with you. I mean, you look at
- 1:34:12Speaker 2: poor Willie colly Stein. He's gonna be by himself. You
- 1:34:15Speaker 2: get Marcus Lee, Kohalil Whitney, Aaron Harrison, Archie Goodwin, DeAndre
- 1:34:21Speaker 2: Liggan's who I'm really excited about seeing play again. Chris
- 1:34:24Speaker 2: Coffee from Georgetown College, Darryl Morsel from Maryland or Marquette,
