- 3:03Speaker 3: in discipleship. We all need help, we all need to fellowship,
- 3:07Speaker 3: we all need to strengthen each other. There is power
- 3:11Speaker 3: in unity as we come together. This is the heart
- 3:14Speaker 3: of God and so that is our prayer and that
- 3:17Speaker 3: is what we contend for here at His Hot Nation.
- 3:24Speaker 3: Grab your bibles, you know, pass in your highlighters meet
- 3:27Speaker 3: me in Jeremiah chapter sixteen, and we're gonna pick it
- 3:31Speaker 3: up in verse fourteen. Now let's go before our Father
- 3:36Speaker 3: and prayer. Heavenly Father, we thank you, Father God for
- 3:39Speaker 3: another beautiful day. Lord. This is the day that you've made,
- 3:43Speaker 3: Oh Father God. We will rejoice and be glad in it.
- 3:49Speaker 3: Father God. We thank you, Father God for your grace
- 3:51Speaker 3: and your mercy and the power of your holy spirit
- 3:56Speaker 3: that shadows over us. We ask that you'll touch to
- 4:01Speaker 3: us in and through this podcast as we dig deep
- 4:05Speaker 3: into your word. In Jesus name, we pray.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Ay man.
- 4:19Speaker 3: All right. Like I said a minute ago, last chapter
- 4:23Speaker 3: was pretty tough. It was tough because we saw the
- 4:27Speaker 3: judgment of God on the whole family, on the whole nation.
- 4:33Speaker 3: God told Jeremiah that you'll be better off as a
- 4:36Speaker 3: single man because the children will be slain. The women
- 4:41Speaker 3: will be slain as well as the men. And he
- 4:45Speaker 3: said that their bodies will be on earth like refuge
- 4:49Speaker 3: or in other words, like a toilet, like something that
- 4:53Speaker 3: you discard and don't need anymore. And he's going to
- 4:58Speaker 3: invite the wild beast of the earth Earth to come
- 5:00Speaker 3: and feast on their carcasses the birds. That is pretty gruesome,
- 5:07Speaker 3: but that is what happens when we kindle the wrath
- 5:10Speaker 3: of God. And you really can't blame him right because
- 5:14Speaker 3: He has done everything that he could do to keep
- 5:18Speaker 3: us from it. He sent has only be gotten son,
- 5:21Speaker 3: Jesus Christ, to pay the penalty for our sins, that
- 5:25Speaker 3: our iniquities on the cross. All we have to do
- 5:29Speaker 3: is look at the cross, so we can see the
- 5:30Speaker 3: love of God. But also we can see the justice
- 5:33Speaker 3: of God at work as well. So we need to
- 5:37Speaker 3: live a life of holiness. We need to forsake sin,
- 5:39Speaker 3: we need to shun it. If we are to make
- 5:42Speaker 3: it into the kingdom.
- 5:43Speaker 2: We need to do.
- 5:44Speaker 3: All we can to renew our minds in God's word
- 5:50Speaker 3: and to live a life of obedience. We not only
- 5:52Speaker 3: need to just know the Word, but we need to
- 5:55Speaker 3: pray that our hearts will be submitted to the Word
- 5:58Speaker 3: of God as well. We have to obey it and
- 6:00Speaker 3: keep it amen. So that's why the judgment is coming.
- 6:04Speaker 3: That's why we see everything happening to the nation of Israel.
- 6:08Speaker 3: But we take a turn right here in verse fourteen.
- 6:11Speaker 3: We're starting to see a glimpse of hope. So let's
- 6:14Speaker 3: read it together. And it says, therefore, behold the day
- 6:21Speaker 3: comes when the Lord the days come, says the Lord,
- 6:27Speaker 3: that it shall no more be said. The Lord liveth
- 6:32Speaker 3: that bringeth up the children of Israel out of the
- 6:36Speaker 3: land of Egypt. So that was the saying for the
- 6:41Speaker 3: nation of Israel. When they were very young. They knew
- 6:44Speaker 3: God as their deliverer. God brought them out of Egypt,
- 6:48Speaker 3: and they parted God part of the Red Sea for
- 6:51Speaker 3: Moses and his people. And of course we understand that story.
- 7:02Speaker 3: So now He's gonna unleash a whole new chapter for them.
- 7:08Speaker 3: In his next verse, it says, but the Lord liveth
- 7:12Speaker 3: that brought up the children of Israel from the land
- 7:16Speaker 3: of the north and from all the lands, whether he
- 7:20Speaker 3: has driven them, and I will bring them again unto
- 7:25Speaker 3: their land that I gave unto their fathers. So now
- 7:30Speaker 3: this is a sign of restoration. Now he will be
- 7:35Speaker 3: known as the God that will gather them back into
- 7:38Speaker 3: their land. And we saw this back in nineteen forty
- 7:41Speaker 3: eight where Israel became a nation again. They were declared
- 7:45Speaker 3: a nation, and you saw the hearts of the Jewish people.
- 7:49Speaker 3: They all desired to go back to their homeland. Now,
- 7:53Speaker 3: the amazing thing about the nation of Israel, they are
- 7:56Speaker 3: the only nation that was scattered throughout the world world
- 8:00Speaker 3: and they kept their natural identity, their national identity. They
- 8:05Speaker 3: were able to keep their culture. They are able to
- 8:08Speaker 3: understand and know where they come from and who they are.
- 8:12Speaker 3: They're connected to the nation of Israel. And as a
- 8:16Speaker 3: black man living in America, Las Vegas, Nevada, and of
- 8:22Speaker 3: course we have a history of slavery in this country.
- 8:25Speaker 3: You know, I got different views about that than the
- 8:28Speaker 3: average person. But we'll talk about that in a different note.
- 8:34Speaker 3: So as this has happened to us as a nation,
- 8:39Speaker 3: they brought us out of Africa, and I believe it
- 8:42Speaker 3: was northern Africa. They have historical castles and different landmarks
- 8:50Speaker 3: in Africa that tells us the story, that tells us
- 8:55Speaker 3: the history of what had took place. And I say
- 9:01Speaker 3: that I don't know my heritage, I don't know where
- 9:03Speaker 3: I'm from, I don't know my native language, I don't
- 9:06Speaker 3: know the books we've had, I don't know our culture.
- 9:10Speaker 3: Everything has been totally erased. And so I grew up
- 9:14Speaker 3: as the only culture that I know of is the
- 9:17Speaker 3: United States of America. Now I don't speak this out
- 9:20Speaker 3: of bitterness. I don't speak this out of anything else.
- 9:23Speaker 3: You know, God allowed it to happen, and I believe
- 9:25Speaker 3: he allowed it to happen for a reason. But also
- 9:29Speaker 3: I understand that there's a lot of witchcraft and there's
- 9:31Speaker 3: a lot of wickedness in that continent. So I'm not
- 9:38Speaker 3: saying that I want to know the culture of where
- 9:40Speaker 3: I'm from. It could be something that could have been
- 9:43Speaker 3: very demonic. But I'm happy to know Christ, and I'm
- 9:48Speaker 3: happy to serve God in the United States of America
- 9:51Speaker 3: in a place where at least I know I have
- 9:54Speaker 3: the freedom to serve and worship Him. Amen. But for
- 10:02Speaker 3: the nation of Israel, they kept their language, they kept
- 10:06Speaker 3: their culture, and so he was known as the God
- 10:10Speaker 3: that brought them back to their lands, a man that
- 10:14Speaker 3: he had promised and gave to their fathers. Verse sixteen. Behold,
- 10:19Speaker 3: I will send for many fishers, says the Lord, and
- 10:24Speaker 3: they shall fish them. And after will I send for
- 10:31Speaker 3: many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain
- 10:36Speaker 3: and from every hill, and out of the holes of
- 10:40Speaker 3: every rock. So you know, remember that the verse he
- 10:46Speaker 3: will leave the ninety nine to go say the one Well,
- 10:51Speaker 3: He is sending to restore his people. See, the God's
- 10:55Speaker 3: anger is not forever. If we call, if we repent
- 11:01Speaker 3: and call for his mercy and his grace, God will
- 11:05Speaker 3: restore us. He will restore our nation. For mine eyes
- 11:13Speaker 3: are upon all their ways. They are not hid from
- 11:18Speaker 3: my face. Neither is their iniquity hid from my eyes. Now,
- 11:24Speaker 3: this is one thing about God that we really need
- 11:27Speaker 3: to understand it. We really need to see this because
- 11:29Speaker 3: a lot of people, the reason why they sin and
- 11:33Speaker 3: they live a life of sin is because there is
- 11:35Speaker 3: no fear of God before their eyes. The enemy has
- 11:38Speaker 3: blinded humanity from this part of God, from understanding it.
- 11:43Speaker 3: He wants to teach greasy grace like okay, the grace
- 11:48Speaker 3: of God will enable you to live a life of
- 11:51Speaker 3: sin and things like that, like oh yeah, you could
- 11:54Speaker 3: sin and then God will forgive you right after. Well,
- 11:56Speaker 3: that's playing rush you relet right. The worst thing that
- 12:00Speaker 3: we want to do is deceive ourselves, and it's so
- 12:03Speaker 3: easy to do. But we have to realize that God
- 12:06Speaker 3: sees everything. His eyes are everywhere. He sees us in secret,
- 12:13Speaker 3: he sees us behind the closed doors, He sees what
- 12:15Speaker 3: we look on when we watch TV. He sees what
- 12:18Speaker 3: we're looking at when we're on the internet, on the computer,
- 12:21Speaker 3: on our phones. He knows the private thoughts of our hearts.
- 12:25Speaker 3: He sees it. It's like a big display in heaven.
- 12:28Speaker 3: It's like a drive in movie screen when we get
- 12:33Speaker 3: to heaven. And so our part is to keep our
- 12:37Speaker 3: hearts clean. If we keep our hearts clean, then the
- 12:41Speaker 3: rest of our lives will follow.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Amen.
- 12:44Speaker 3: Keep that heart clean, keep your thoughts clean, Amen, and
- 12:48Speaker 3: then it will be better for us, easier for us
- 12:51Speaker 3: to live this life God desires. Once we understand that
- 12:54Speaker 3: that His eyes are everywhere Verse eighteen. And first I
- 13:01Speaker 3: will recompense their iniquity and their sin double because they
- 13:06Speaker 3: have defied my land. So there's a consequences. And that's
- 13:12Speaker 3: the first thing he has to do is deal with it.
- 13:15Speaker 3: He's a righteous judge, and he says it. They have
- 13:19Speaker 3: to be dealt with double because they defied His land. Right,
- 13:25Speaker 3: we don't want to defile God's land. They have filled
- 13:31Speaker 3: my inheritance with the carcasses of their detestable and abominable things.
- 13:40Speaker 3: While detestable and abominable, look at how God is describing
- 13:47Speaker 3: these people in their land, their conditions, their spiritual condition. Now,
- 13:57Speaker 3: at this point, they were worshiping idols, and there was
- 14:02Speaker 3: a baal worship or bell worship that the other nations
- 14:06Speaker 3: around them would worship this basically demon right, this false God.
- 14:14Speaker 3: And let's let's read a little further, cause we're gonna
- 14:18Speaker 3: see we're gonna take a peek in some of their practices.
- 14:22Speaker 3: Right verse nineteen, Oh Lord, my strength and my fortress.
- 14:29Speaker 3: Now this is Jeremiah crying out to him and my
- 14:33Speaker 3: refuge in the day of affliction. The gentiles shall come
- 14:38Speaker 3: unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say,
- 14:43Speaker 3: surely your fathers have inherited lies, vanity and things wherein
- 14:51Speaker 3: there is no profit. Now, this is Jeremiah crying out. Now,
- 14:58Speaker 3: let's break it down, right, he knew God to be
- 15:03Speaker 3: his refuge in his strength because Jeremiah suffered so much persecution,
- 15:09Speaker 3: and I know God to be my defender. I have
- 15:12Speaker 3: been attacked on so many areas, but I'm still here,
- 15:16Speaker 3: and I cry out for the Lord to fight my battles. Amen.
- 15:23Speaker 3: Now he talks about the gentiles here, the gentiles shall
- 15:27Speaker 3: come unto the from the ends of the earth. So
- 15:31Speaker 3: he's the God of all nations and they shall say,
- 15:36Speaker 3: surely your fathers have inherited lies vanity in the things
- 15:42Speaker 3: wherein there is no profit. Now they see the destruction
- 15:48Speaker 3: that God is gonna place on the nation of Israel,
- 15:51Speaker 3: and they're gonna say, like, wow, you know what I mean, Like,
- 15:55Speaker 3: why would you serve a god like this? Like what's
- 15:58Speaker 3: going on? Is there any profit in this verse twenty
- 16:03Speaker 3: Shelley Man make gods into himself and they are no gods.
- 16:10Speaker 3: Now this is a good question. Therefore, behold, I will this,
- 16:17Speaker 3: I will this once cause them to know. I will
- 16:22Speaker 3: cause them to know mine hand and my might, and
- 16:27Speaker 3: they shall know that my name is the Lord. Amen, hallelujah.
- 16:38Speaker 3: All right, selet's break this down a little further. Here.
- 16:41Speaker 3: You see, God is gonna first fully repay Judah for
- 16:46Speaker 3: their idolatry, because they had polluted God's land with detestable
- 16:53Speaker 3: and abominable things, their idols and their pagan practices is
- 16:58Speaker 3: what he's referring to. Before for restoration could come to place,
- 17:03Speaker 3: Judgment had to first he had to first clean the house. Right,
- 17:09Speaker 3: God had seen all their ways, and none of their
- 17:12Speaker 3: sins were hidden from him, and so one of the
- 17:15Speaker 3: ways that they would worship ball by worship is they
- 17:20Speaker 3: would create a statue. How the statue would have its
- 17:24Speaker 3: hands extended out with the fingers pointed up right, and
- 17:32Speaker 3: then they would make this thing glowing hot, glowing hot
- 17:39Speaker 3: like red. They would put this thing on fire, and
- 17:42Speaker 3: then they would sacrifice their little babies to this pagan god.
- 17:47Speaker 3: And that was Now you see why God was crying
- 17:50Speaker 3: out against this nation. And does that sound like abortion
- 17:57Speaker 3: to you? Look at how we're sacrificing our children to
- 18:02Speaker 3: these guys, just like they did back in the ancient days.
- 18:05Speaker 3: Whether whether it's for convenience or we're trying to escape
- 18:10Speaker 3: the consequences of our sins. However it goes down, this
- 18:17Speaker 3: is a deplorable and a detestable practice in the eyes
- 18:23Speaker 3: of God. After that, there is a remarkable prophecy. Though
- 18:30Speaker 3: even though they failed this far, there is still hope
- 18:33Speaker 3: of redemption. Now the gentiles shall come into thee from
- 18:38Speaker 3: the ends of the earth. Now this prophecy is the
- 18:45Speaker 3: fact that gentiles are turning to the true and real God.
- 18:48Speaker 3: The nations will eventually realize that their ancestors passed down
- 18:53Speaker 3: false religions and worthless idols, but previous generations trusted was
- 19:01Speaker 3: a lie and had no saving power. Now even Paul
- 19:07Speaker 3: later refers to the Old Testament prophecies concerning the salvation
- 19:12Speaker 3: of the Gentiles, and you look in the Book of
- 19:14Speaker 3: Rome Roman. Now that's an answer prayer. That is good news. Amen.
- 19:25Speaker 3: Now we could break it down like this, right, jud
- 19:30Speaker 3: just sin in verse eighteen, will be judged. Verse nineteen,
- 19:39Speaker 3: Jeremiah trust God despite the judgment. Now nineteen through twenty,
- 19:47Speaker 3: the nations of the world eventually reject idols. Hallelujah. Now
- 19:52Speaker 3: that encourages my heart. Amen. Verse twenty one, God reveals
- 19:58Speaker 3: his power to all peop people. And then people learn
- 20:05Speaker 3: that Jeremiah alone, I mean not Jeremiah, but Jehovah alone,
- 20:11Speaker 3: is the one true and living God. Now these verses
- 20:19Speaker 3: look beyond Jeremiah's immediate situation. Judah was being punished for idolatry,
- 20:26Speaker 3: but God was not finished with his purposes of that nation.
- 20:34Speaker 3: The same God who judges sin also intends to reveal
- 20:37Speaker 3: himself to the whole world, the Gentiles, confessing that he
- 20:44Speaker 3: is God. Now everything our fathers worshiped, apart from the
- 20:50Speaker 3: Lord was empty. That makes this passage both a warning
- 20:57Speaker 3: and a promise. The warning that God will not ignore sin.
- 21:01Speaker 3: The promise is that one day people from every nation
- 21:06Speaker 3: will recognize that the Lord alone is God. Hallelujah. Now
- 21:15Speaker 3: we're moving from God's justice on Judah to God's future
- 21:20Speaker 3: revelation of himself to the gentiles. They shall know my
- 21:28Speaker 3: name is Jehovah Man, and I can't wait for that day. Well,
- 21:33Speaker 3: I gladly buy my knee now, and I exalt the
- 21:38Speaker 3: name of Jesus. Hallelujah. All right, let's take a break.
- 21:44Speaker 3: You are listening to the light of Las Vegas. This
- 21:47Speaker 3: is the hiss Hop radio show.
- 22:01Speaker 4: I could be so afraid, I could.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Be had in my feelings.
- 22:07Speaker 4: I could give up the game and never let up
- 22:12Speaker 4: showing me helding. I could run, try run away. There's
- 22:17Speaker 4: a race loves Company.
- 22:19Speaker 2: Or I could take a chance on Yeah, it was
- 22:26Speaker 2: so evident. Did not
