- 0:04Speaker 1: It's Grayson Rodriguez of the Angels joining us back on FT.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Uh does it feel more normal this time around? So
- 0:11Speaker 1: this is the second time we've spoken to you since
- 0:13Speaker 1: we've introduced you this way.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Does it feel more normal now?
- 0:17Speaker 3: Oh? Yeah, for sure? Yeah, definitely. I mean getting ready
- 0:20Speaker 3: to roll, ready to go to spring training. Already been
- 0:22Speaker 3: out to the complex in Arizona. I think, you know,
- 0:24Speaker 3: the last time I talked to you, all hadn't been
- 0:26Speaker 3: there yet. I think the trade was pretty fresh. So uh, yeah,
- 0:30Speaker 3: I've been talking to a lot of the staff and
- 0:32Speaker 3: now it feels like home and and ready to ready
- 0:34Speaker 3: to get the season started.
- 0:37Speaker 2: How was the trip to the facility in Arizona? Who
- 0:40Speaker 2: did you meet with? What did they tell you?
- 0:43Speaker 3: Yeah, so some of the strength staff was there, a
- 0:45Speaker 3: couple of other players, But yeah, I got to go
- 0:48Speaker 3: out there work out for a few days. Obviously, the
- 0:51Speaker 3: facility is super nice, brand new. I think they had
- 0:54Speaker 3: just finished it within in the last year, I want
- 0:56Speaker 3: to say, so definitely an upgrade for me. But yeah,
- 1:00Speaker 3: super excited. You know obviously, you know, lifting around stuff
- 1:04Speaker 3: in the weight room. Uh, you know, ran around a
- 1:07Speaker 3: little bit, didn't do too much out on the fields.
- 1:09Speaker 3: But uh, but yeah, I got to throw and they
- 1:12Speaker 3: have a super nice indoor lab, super cool, so I
- 1:14Speaker 3: excited to get to use all that stuff.
- 1:16Speaker 4: Did you talk to anybody about it what it used
- 1:18Speaker 4: to look like? And people been like, hey, it's a
- 1:21Speaker 4: good thing. Like do they keep the tent up that
- 1:23Speaker 4: they used to have their weight room in just for
- 1:26Speaker 4: like just for like, you know, remembering sake.
- 1:31Speaker 3: Yeah, so there's definitely a few people that said that,
- 1:33Speaker 3: you know, it used to not be that nice. So
- 1:36Speaker 3: definitely pretty fortunate that I picked the right time to
- 1:38Speaker 3: join an organization. You know, they were telling me some
- 1:42Speaker 3: old stories about it and whatnot. But but yeah, thankfully
- 1:45Speaker 3: I don't have to deal with it or you know,
- 1:47Speaker 3: I don't even have it pictured in my head. But yeah,
- 1:49Speaker 3: so when I show up here in the next couple
- 1:51Speaker 3: of weeks, there's gonna be a nice facility waiting on me.
- 1:54Speaker 5: Let me ask you this. So you've you've been in
- 1:56Speaker 5: the facility.
- 1:57Speaker 6: You have you talked or seeing Kurtzuzuki and Mike Maddox
- 2:01Speaker 6: a little bit?
- 2:01Speaker 5: Have you guys had conversations?
- 2:04Speaker 3: Yeah, obviously talk to them a couple of times each.
- 2:07Speaker 3: You know, awesome guys. Hear a lot about mad Dog,
- 2:09Speaker 3: I guess is what some of the guys call him.
- 2:12Speaker 3: But uh, yeah, I heard some really good things about Kurt.
- 2:14Speaker 3: You know. I had some guys that some veterans in
- 2:17Speaker 3: Baltimore that had played with Kurt, you know, really loved
- 2:19Speaker 3: him as a catcher. So you know, they're excited to
- 2:22Speaker 3: see what he can do as a manager, and you know,
- 2:25Speaker 3: I'm kind of in the same boat. You know, I'm
- 2:26Speaker 3: excited to see what he has to offer for us.
- 2:30Speaker 4: Yeah, mad Dogs, Mad Dog's gonna hold his mustache. He's
- 2:34Speaker 4: gonna hold his mustache on, and he's gonna put his
- 2:37Speaker 4: hand everybody said it, put his hand on so he
- 2:39Speaker 4: feels the pulse. But I told every picture that I
- 2:42Speaker 4: ever played with that had him, just don't think about it.
- 2:45Speaker 4: He's not covering his mouth. He's holding his mustache on
- 2:48Speaker 4: because it's fake. So every time he does this and
- 2:51Speaker 4: he's talking to you, I want you to think about that.
- 2:53Speaker 3: Okay, all right, fake stash, got it?
- 2:57Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, like the ones where he glue it
- 2:59Speaker 4: behind there, like it would be super weird if it
- 3:01Speaker 4: like flops off and he's like talking to He was like, Grace,
- 3:04Speaker 4: what I really need you to. Nope, he's just holding
- 3:06Speaker 4: it up there. He's holding it up there so so
- 3:09Speaker 4: you can't see it. What are some of the things
- 3:11Speaker 4: that he said besides, Man, I've watched you from Afar
- 3:15Speaker 4: and I really like how you got a million dollar
- 3:17Speaker 4: arm and you know all that kind of stuff.
- 3:19Speaker 3: Not that you yes, sir, Yeah, I mean mad He's
- 3:23Speaker 3: you know, one of the first things we talked about
- 3:25Speaker 3: was he got to watch me make my debut in
- 3:27Speaker 3: twenty three, so I got called up. We were in
- 3:30Speaker 3: Texas playing the Rangers. You know, obviously he was a
- 3:32Speaker 3: pitching coach there, so he got to watch that. But man,
- 3:36Speaker 3: just kind of getting back to the basics, you know,
- 3:37Speaker 3: I mean kind of you know, I hear mad Dog's
- 3:41Speaker 3: kind of got a little bit of an old school mindset,
- 3:43Speaker 3: and for me, I think that could work really well,
- 3:45Speaker 3: just kind of getting back to the basics and you know,
- 3:48Speaker 3: attacking hitters, you know, not necessarily wondering about how many
- 3:52Speaker 3: pitches we're gonna throw, how many times we're gonna throw them,
- 3:55Speaker 3: just going out and you know, seeing how many outs
- 3:57Speaker 3: we can get, you know, every five or six days.
- 3:59Speaker 3: I think is gonna be the goal. And uh, man,
- 4:02Speaker 3: it's it's got me excited for sure.
- 4:07Speaker 4: Do you look good in red?
- 4:11Speaker 3: I think so. I mean my mom says so. But
- 4:13Speaker 3: you know, I mean, you know, your mom's gotta you know,
- 4:15Speaker 3: your mom's got to hype you up. So uh yeah,
- 4:18Speaker 3: I've definitely definitely heard from all my family members, my wife,
- 4:21Speaker 3: everybody that they definitely love red more than they love orange.
- 4:24Speaker 3: I think everybody's kind of excited to get to ditch
- 4:27Speaker 3: the black and orange and finally get some red in there.
- 4:30Speaker 6: For sure, you are an avid hunter, as you can
- 4:34Speaker 6: see in your back wall. Have you uh asked, uh
- 4:38Speaker 6: maybe anybody on the Angels? Have you hunted anybody or
- 4:41Speaker 6: you know, hung out with any of the guys, and
- 4:43Speaker 6: if so, like tell us about them, like talk to
- 4:45Speaker 6: me about you know, if there's anybody you talked to
- 4:47Speaker 6: or hung out with.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean obviously you know I hadn't got to,
- 4:51Speaker 3: you know, talk to everybody yet talk to out for
- 4:54Speaker 3: a couple of years now about some some hunt and stuff.
- 4:57Speaker 3: And you know, I know he attempts to hunt. If
- 4:59Speaker 3: he sees this, you know, I might get a text
- 5:01Speaker 3: message here pretty soon. But uh yeah, thinks he's the
- 5:04Speaker 3: best hunter. He thinks he's the best white tail hunter
- 5:06Speaker 3: in the big leagues. That's not the case. So you're
- 5:08Speaker 3: seeing it. You're seeing it right now, you know, you're
- 5:11Speaker 3: seeing it behind me. You know, not all these are mine.
- 5:14Speaker 3: I won't take credit for all of them, you know
- 5:16Speaker 3: about half of them, or my wife. But but yeah,
- 5:19Speaker 3: we like to hunt. Yeah, love to hunt, love to
- 5:23Speaker 3: eat them. The venison is the best part about it.
- 5:24Speaker 3: You know, you can go to the grocer shore or pick
- 5:26Speaker 3: up some beef. You're not really sure what's in that beef,
- 5:28Speaker 3: but uh, I know what I'm getting out of that
- 5:30Speaker 3: behind me, so for sure.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Hey, do you think you can create a relationship with
- 5:36Speaker 1: Trouty like you have with Ryan Mountcastle where you guys
- 5:39Speaker 1: can just talk shit during spring training and all of
- 5:42Speaker 1: that and have a good time, right, Like that would
- 5:44Speaker 1: be kind of fun. You got to bring something like
- 5:46Speaker 1: that over to the Angels. They might have something already
- 5:49Speaker 1: with some dynamics, but I know that was a fun
- 5:52Speaker 1: part of what you guys had going with the Oils,
- 5:53Speaker 1: and frankly, I think they're going to miss that.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't. I don't know if trout you know,
- 5:58Speaker 3: Trole's taking me deep. I think he took me deep
- 6:01Speaker 3: in twenty four, but he didn't give me the bird,
- 6:04Speaker 3: And like Mountie, did you know they're spring training? So yeah,
- 6:07Speaker 3: that was a little bit different about it. But yeah,
- 6:10Speaker 3: definitely gonna miss those relationships. But I have a feeling
- 6:14Speaker 3: I have a hunch that we're gonna make some more.
- 6:16Speaker 3: So I already been talking to some of these guys,
- 6:18Speaker 3: and you know, they love to talk a lot of
- 6:19Speaker 3: trash and that's right up my alley. So I think
- 6:22Speaker 3: I think I'll be just fine.
- 6:24Speaker 2: I like it.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Hey, while we're on that topic, what do you think
- 6:28Speaker 1: of the situation for your boy, Ryan Mountcastle heading into
- 6:31Speaker 1: the season.
- 6:32Speaker 2: I mean, they have the DH spot and stuff like that.
- 6:34Speaker 1: But have you followed what the Orioles have been up
- 6:36Speaker 1: to since you were traded away? I mean they signed
- 6:41Speaker 1: Lumberjack polar bear named Pete Alonzo, so they've certainly done
- 6:45Speaker 1: a lot activity wise.
- 6:46Speaker 2: But how do you think the puzzle pieces will fit?
- 6:49Speaker 2: I guess I'll put it this way too.
- 6:51Speaker 1: You know, at times on our show we were critical
- 6:54Speaker 1: in the past where we felt like they were holding
- 6:56Speaker 1: on to prospects for trades, then weren't making them, and
- 6:59Speaker 1: then it was actually causing this logjam with the position players,
- 7:02Speaker 1: so it's hard for you to establish yourself if you're
- 7:05Speaker 1: not getting time. You could put Kobe Mayo in that
- 7:07Speaker 1: conversation too. It appears like some of that will start
- 7:10Speaker 1: to open up. But I mean, I'm sure you'd agree
- 7:12Speaker 1: it can hurt your development. If you're up, you're down,
- 7:14Speaker 1: you're barely getting playing time after you were a star
- 7:17Speaker 1: in the minor leagues.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Yeah, definitely you could kind of see it like with
- 7:21Speaker 3: the position players. You know, like guys I don't like Kobe,
- 7:25Speaker 3: like you're saying, you know, guys that probably are good
- 7:28Speaker 3: enough to be playing in the big leagues, and then
- 7:30Speaker 3: you know there's a lot kind of going on that,
- 7:32Speaker 3: you know, just out of their control. But you know,
- 7:34Speaker 3: Mawnie's an awesome guy. You know, whether he's playing in Baltimore,
- 7:37Speaker 3: if he's playing somewhere else. I mean, whoever's going to
- 7:39Speaker 3: have him is going to be lucky to have him.
- 7:41Speaker 3: I Mean, you know, he's great in the he's great
- 7:42Speaker 3: in the clubhouse. You know, you kind of know what
- 7:44Speaker 3: you're gonna get on the field. You know, he's awesome.
- 7:48Speaker 3: You know, as far as paying attention to what the
- 7:50Speaker 3: Orioles have done, you know. I mean I still talk to,
- 7:52Speaker 3: you know, some of those guys that I was close with,
- 7:55Speaker 3: so you know, you kind of still hear bits and
- 7:56Speaker 3: pieces of it. But I mean, man, you know, it's
- 8:00Speaker 3: kind of in the past for me, you know. I
- 8:02Speaker 3: mean obviously you said they've signed some guys. I mean, yeah,
- 8:04Speaker 3: I mean I see that. You know, if you get
- 8:06Speaker 3: you know, turn TV on or you know whatever, it's
- 8:08Speaker 3: kind of hard to you know, not know what's going
- 8:10Speaker 3: on in the league. But yeah, I mean for me,
- 8:12Speaker 3: you know, it's just focusing on you know, the Angels
- 8:15Speaker 3: and you know, spring training and making sure my body's
- 8:18Speaker 3: healthy and everything ready and getting ready to get rolling.
- 8:22Speaker 3: But yeah, Free Agency. You know, you kind of still
- 8:25Speaker 3: watch it, you know, you see it on your phone
- 8:27Speaker 3: or you getting alert or whatever. I mean, you just
- 8:29Speaker 3: kind of know what's going on. But but yeah, I
- 8:31Speaker 3: hadn't really been paying too much attention to it.
- 8:33Speaker 4: You throw away all your oriol stuff. You talk about
- 8:36Speaker 4: turning the page. I still have I don't have anything
- 8:39Speaker 4: on right now, but I usually have. I usually have
- 8:42Speaker 4: something from the fourteen different organizations I played for. So
- 8:45Speaker 4: but at the end of the year, you throw it away.
- 8:47Speaker 4: Now that you got traded and we've had some time
- 8:50Speaker 4: since the last time we talked. Have you given it
- 8:53Speaker 4: to gift and thrift or some type of thrift store.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Yeah, definitely, we've definitely given a lot of it away.
- 9:02Speaker 3: I wish i'd say we've given it all away, but
- 9:04Speaker 3: I mean it's been hard because every time we get
- 9:06Speaker 3: rid of a box, we find another box, and then
- 9:08Speaker 3: there's just more boxes, and it's like you know, over
- 9:11Speaker 3: the years, you know, the boxes just stack up, and
- 9:13Speaker 3: then you just find a closet to just shove it
- 9:16Speaker 3: into and then you know, you start you they start
- 9:19Speaker 3: popping up all over the place. So yeah, we've definitely
- 9:22Speaker 3: gotten rid of a lot of it, and we still
- 9:23Speaker 3: got some more to go.
- 9:25Speaker 4: Is this something you found that was like, ah, man,
- 9:28Speaker 4: Like I like, I want to keep that, Like obviously
- 9:30Speaker 4: Jersey you that kind of thing. Was there something you
- 9:33Speaker 4: found during that time that you were like, ah man, Yeah,
- 9:37Speaker 4: I think I might keep that, like a Homer hose or.
- 9:39Speaker 3: Something no Homer host But but I mean I don't know.
- 9:44Speaker 3: I mean, you know, some some boxes, you know, you
- 9:47Speaker 3: open up and it's like stuff from the minor leagues,
- 9:49Speaker 3: like a long time ago, and like when I say,
- 9:52Speaker 3: long time ago, like twenty nineteen, you know, twenty twenty whatever.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Some of that stuff's kind of cool, and be like, ah, man,
- 9:58Speaker 3: I can't get rid of that. It's like, that's my
- 10:00Speaker 3: first pair of professional socks, you know, can't throw those away?
- 10:03Speaker 3: But uh, but no, I mean, I don't know, there's
- 10:06Speaker 3: nothing really from the big leagues that you know, I
- 10:09Speaker 3: haven't been able to get rid of. I mean, what's
- 10:11Speaker 3: nice about being in the big leagues? You know, you
- 10:13Speaker 3: show up in your lockers full different you know, in
- 10:15Speaker 3: minor league camp where you show up and there's one
- 10:17Speaker 3: T shirt, a pair of shorts and that's about it.
- 10:20Speaker 3: But it's definitely a lot easier to get rid of
- 10:22Speaker 3: that stuff in the big leagues. So to the you know,
- 10:25Speaker 3: to the to the trash. Some stuff it's just nasty
- 10:27Speaker 3: that nobody's gonna wear that goes in the garbage. But
- 10:29Speaker 3: if not, it's going down the street to Goodwill.
- 10:32Speaker 5: All right.
- 10:33Speaker 4: This is the only area that I can ever give
- 10:35Speaker 4: a player like you advice changing teams, will you or
- 10:40Speaker 4: will you not? And I'll baste my reaction on it
- 10:43Speaker 4: based on what you say. Come into Angels camp in
- 10:48Speaker 4: February with an Oriole's bag with all your stuff across
- 10:53Speaker 4: your shoulder to go into Angels camp and then have
- 10:56Speaker 4: them trade your bag out.
- 10:59Speaker 3: You know, I mean, I really don't know what to
- 11:01Speaker 3: do about that because I think, you know, I see,
- 11:03Speaker 3: I was still I was I was in the last
- 11:06Speaker 3: phase of my rehab when I got traded, so like
- 11:09Speaker 3: I was already throwing you know, pretty much full go.
- 11:11Speaker 3: So I still had a locker there in Sarasota, and
- 11:14Speaker 3: I had asked them to ship the things I had
- 11:18Speaker 3: in that locker to Arizona. So I don't know if
- 11:22Speaker 3: that's been done or not. You know, I had to
- 11:23Speaker 3: check on it the other day. But so hopefully you know,
- 11:26Speaker 3: the Orioles aren't keeping my stuff. But uh, you know,
- 11:30Speaker 3: I don't know. I mean, maybe, you know, maybe I
- 11:32Speaker 3: could show up with like some Walmart bags, maybe like
- 11:36Speaker 3: a Camo Duffel bag, you know, like maybe we can
- 11:40Speaker 3: you know, throw a wrinkling it a little bit. But
- 11:42Speaker 3: uh yeah, I mean, I don't even know if I
- 11:43Speaker 3: have an Orioles bag here. To be honest with you, so.
- 11:47Speaker 4: Choice my suggestion to you is show up in a
- 11:51Speaker 4: Camo bag, show up in a your high school bag.
- 11:55Speaker 4: Something you probably made like nine high school all star teams,
- 11:59Speaker 4: So maybe like one of those, like you're or maybe
- 12:01Speaker 4: an agent backpack or just go old school and carry
- 12:06Speaker 4: you're all very please and your glove in and be
- 12:09Speaker 4: like you guys, got a bag or something and I
- 12:12Speaker 4: could put.
- 12:12Speaker 3: This in a cart. Maybe get a cart rolled out
- 12:16Speaker 3: to the cart huh yeah something, Yeah, just pull up
- 12:19Speaker 3: with a shopping cart.
- 12:20Speaker 5: Maybe I'll do that.
- 12:21Speaker 4: I like that. I like that last one from me
- 12:25Speaker 4: on the Angels specifically, when you look at this team
- 12:30Speaker 4: and now you've had time to digest that you're on
- 12:32Speaker 4: this team, do you sit there and say, man, I
- 12:36Speaker 4: watched Alec manoah pitch. I watched this guy pitch before. Guys,
- 12:40Speaker 4: you know, they're kind of like buying low hopefully they
- 12:44Speaker 4: you know, they hit the lottery ticket type of pitchers.
- 12:47Speaker 5: And do you.
- 12:47Speaker 4: Say, man, we're gonna be pretty good because you only
- 12:51Speaker 4: see the positive, the positive like gleamings of like, oh wow,
- 12:57Speaker 4: this guy is awesome, this guy was an All Star.
- 12:59Speaker 4: Or are you realistic when you're evaluating your future teammates
- 13:03Speaker 4: that you actually haven't even actually been on the field
- 13:05Speaker 4: with yet.
- 13:07Speaker 3: No, I mean obviously you know, like I've looked at
- 13:09Speaker 3: the roster, and I mean, to be honest with you,
- 13:12Speaker 3: it kind of it kind of reminds me of like
- 13:14Speaker 3: how we were in Baltimore in twenty twenty three. You know,
- 13:18Speaker 3: lots of like I'm not gonna say super young guys,
- 13:21Speaker 3: but lots of younger guys, you know, and then you
- 13:23Speaker 3: have like darnol veteran catcher, you know, and then you
- 13:27Speaker 3: got a hoppy it's kind of like a Richman mccayn
- 13:31Speaker 3: kind of mixed to me, like that was the first
- 13:33Speaker 3: thing that popped out, you know, I mean being a pitcher,
- 13:35Speaker 3: you know, you're you're looking at your catchers and you're like, Okay,
- 13:38Speaker 3: you know, these are the guys that I'm gonna work
- 13:40Speaker 3: with the most. And so that's kind of what I
- 13:41Speaker 3: thought about. You know, first I was like all right,
- 13:44Speaker 3: and then you know, you kind of look at you know,
- 13:46Speaker 3: everything else, and I don't know, baseball is just a
- 13:50Speaker 3: weird sport where like, you know, it's just hard to
- 13:54Speaker 3: predict like what's gonna happen. You know, obviously, teams that
- 13:56Speaker 3: spend a lot of money, you think, yeah, they're gonna
- 13:58Speaker 3: have success, or you know, they've got a lot of
- 14:00Speaker 3: big names in the lineup. Sometimes the lineups, like is
- 14:03Speaker 3: from a pitcher's perspective, sometimes the hardest lineups to pitch, too,
- 14:07Speaker 3: are not necessarily the most expensive ones, if that makes sense. Like,
- 14:10Speaker 3: if there's a lot of gritty grinders in that lineup,
- 14:13Speaker 3: maybe I'm not gonna say no name guys everybody. You know,
- 14:16Speaker 3: you pretty much know everybody in the big leagues. But like,
- 14:18Speaker 3: there's some lineups that'll get you, you know, if you're
- 14:21Speaker 3: not careful and if you're not paying attention, and like,
- 14:23Speaker 3: I don't know, that's something that I've kind of seen
- 14:25Speaker 3: is you know, you know you're playing a team like
- 14:27Speaker 3: the Dodgers or the Yankees, and you're like, Okay, they
- 14:30Speaker 3: spend a lot of money. Sometimes those aren't always you know,
- 14:32Speaker 3: the hardest games to pitch. You know, it could be
- 14:34Speaker 3: somebody else, uh, you know, a younger team that's really
- 14:37Speaker 3: gonna punch you in the mouth if you're not careful
- 14:40Speaker 3: with them. So that's kind of what I'm looking at it.
- 14:42Speaker 3: As you know, coming into this season with LA all.
- 14:45Speaker 4: Right, always want to embarrass a player, a new player
- 14:48Speaker 4: to a new team. So I have one piece of
- 14:50Speaker 4: trivia for you. Okay, you have a teammate Kirby Yates.
- 14:56Speaker 5: Do you know what.
- 15:00Speaker 2: His purchase did?
- 15:03Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 15:03Speaker 4: What he did? What he did after they won the
- 15:07Speaker 4: World Series at Mookie Betts's World Series party?
- 15:13Speaker 3: What he did?
- 15:15Speaker 4: What he did? What he he said? If we win
- 15:18Speaker 4: the World Series, I will do this.
- 15:22Speaker 3: Mmm. Got man by a tractor.
- 15:30Speaker 4: He got a tattoo on his butt cheek? And will
- 15:32Speaker 4: you last longer than a day meeting him without saying
- 15:38Speaker 4: I want to see that?
- 15:39Speaker 3: That sit?
- 15:42Speaker 5: Well?
- 15:42Speaker 3: I mean no, I guess I know he's got a
- 15:44Speaker 3: tattoo on his butt cheek thanks to you. So uh yeah,
- 15:48Speaker 3: I mean that. I'll have to ask him about it.
- 15:50Speaker 3: You know, I don't know if I want to look
- 15:51Speaker 3: at it. Maybe I'll have to ask him about it.
- 15:53Speaker 4: You're gonna look at it. You're gonna be in the shower,
- 15:57Speaker 4: and they're gonna call you. They're gonna call you. Eyes up, Grayson,
- 16:00Speaker 4: like honestly, like, keep the keep the eyes up. But
- 16:04Speaker 4: I will tell you what the tattoo is. I'm sure
- 16:06Speaker 4: you could google it and you would find it real quick.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Oh, tell him, I'll tell him. It's it's more fun
- 16:11Speaker 1: to tell him. So he's got the icebreaker right from
- 16:13Speaker 1: the jump. So it's okay. So his name's Kirby.
- 16:18Speaker 5: Right.
- 16:18Speaker 1: There's a famous character, video game character, and cartoon character, Kirby, right,
- 16:23Speaker 1: you know, the puffy yellow Kirby.
- 16:25Speaker 5: Dude.
- 16:26Speaker 3: Yeahs that like Pokemon or something.
- 16:28Speaker 1: I don't know if Kirby's a Pokemon or if it
- 16:31Speaker 1: looks it's similar, though it looks pokemon ish, yes, and
- 16:34Speaker 1: it's it's honestly a little before your time. It's like
- 16:37Speaker 1: when I was growing up, and I'm probably about ten
- 16:38Speaker 1: years older than you. So it's Kirby with World Series trophy.
- 16:44Speaker 1: So he was like, I'm getting.
- 16:45Speaker 2: A tattoo on my ass if we win a world
- 16:46Speaker 2: series and he got it.
- 16:48Speaker 1: So anyway, you have a teammate like that, who apparently
- 16:50Speaker 1: is a very fun teammate to have, so just look
- 16:53Speaker 1: forward to that. That's like a sneaky one where you
- 16:55Speaker 1: guys probably haven't crossed paths yet, but I guarantee you
- 16:57Speaker 1: when we talked during the season for these spots, you're
- 17:00Speaker 1: gonna be like, dude, that Kirby yates. He gets me
- 17:02Speaker 1: fired up. He's freaking hilarious.
- 17:05Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 17:05Speaker 3: I mean, maybe I'll look forward to meet Kirby, but
- 17:07Speaker 3: I'm not you know, maybe not me looking forward to
- 17:09Speaker 3: looking at his butt cheek. Let's put it that way, so.
- 17:12Speaker 4: You see or you don't see it, Like, let's just
- 17:15Speaker 4: be honest, all right, Grayson, I get it's not your
- 17:17Speaker 4: first butt cheek.
- 17:17Speaker 2: You're saying he's gonna make everyone see it. I'm sure
- 17:21Speaker 2: he will.
- 17:21Speaker 1: He will put on a show at some point and say, hey, everyone,
- 17:24Speaker 1: this is what we're chasing. We're chasing not just titles,
- 17:28Speaker 1: but we're chasing tattoos on our asses. So anyway, just
- 17:34Speaker 1: a little icebreaker when you meet Kirby coming up.
- 17:37Speaker 5: Yeah, there we go.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Well, enjoy the what last few weeks you got here
- 17:43Speaker 1: at home, and then we will be out in Arizona.
- 17:46Speaker 2: We'll catch out there.
- 17:47Speaker 3: All right, sounds good man, see out there.
- 17:50Speaker 5: He let me finish with this. That's funny you bring
- 17:52Speaker 5: that up.
- 17:53Speaker 6: I texted Trout and I said, you're not the king
- 17:55Speaker 6: of white tail deer or whatever, because Grayson says he's
- 18:00Speaker 6: he's the king out of He said, he's lying. He
- 18:02Speaker 6: said they're all raised deer pen dear, he called them.
- 18:04Speaker 6: So they're all enclosed in a fence. So he he looked.
- 18:08Speaker 6: I took a picture. He looked at him. He says,
- 18:11Speaker 6: no chance. Those are all those are easy ones right there.
- 18:13Speaker 6: He's saying, So we'd have to get a little challenge
- 18:15Speaker 6: going on or something. I'm not I'm not a hunter.
- 18:17Speaker 6: I've never hunted before. I don't think I ever will.
- 18:20Speaker 6: But we got we got a little challenge here. Spring
- 18:23Speaker 6: training could be interesting.
- 18:24Speaker 4: Like Trout likes his cameo.
- 18:27Speaker 2: He's Rambo.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Just send him a Ramo picture, Rambo picture. Back to know, right,
- 18:38Speaker 1: he probably watching this like, huh, look it up.
- 18:41Speaker 5: Kids with Charlie Sheen, the old Charlie Sheen one that
- 18:45Speaker 5: was fun.
- 18:47Speaker 2: What was the well, no, they had the.
- 18:50Speaker 5: That was the fun I think that was the I
- 18:52Speaker 5: don't know what one. Yeah, this funny one.
- 18:55Speaker 4: Yeah, hot shots, that's what it was, all man.
- 19:03Speaker 5: Yeah,
