• 2:09
Speaker 6: Pastor Marlon Collins from here in Charleston, is going to
• 2:12
Speaker 6: be on the show. I love getting Pastor Collins's take
• 2:14
Speaker 6: on things. But we're going to talk a little sports
• 2:17
Speaker 6: with Pastor Collins today and it has to do with
• 2:19
Speaker 6: last week's NFL draft and what many people consider to
• 2:24
Speaker 6: be a snub of Sirdir Sanders and what are the
• 2:29
Speaker 6: reasons behind that. Pastor Collins thinks it goes a little
• 2:31
Speaker 6: bit deeper than on the field ability, So we're going
• 2:34
Speaker 6: to talk about that with him coming up a little
• 2:36
Speaker 6: bit later on. Also say Democratic Party chairing Delegate Mike
• 2:39

• 3:02
Speaker 6: and Leasing and from time to time we like to
• 3:04
Speaker 6: give our sponsors a little time on the show. Today
• 3:06
Speaker 6: we have Thor Meeks, the owner of Meeks Rentals and Leasing,
• 3:09
Speaker 6: on the show with us. Good morning, sir, welcome to
• 3:12
  Speaker 6: the airwaves.
• 3:14
  Speaker 7: Good morning Dave.
• 3:14
Speaker 6: How are you doing fine? I appreciate you being here.
• 3:17
Speaker 6: I talk about you guys from Meeks Rentals Meeks Leasing
• 3:20
Speaker 6: every day on the show. But for those who don't
• 3:22
Speaker 6: know basically what is Meets Rentals and Meeks Leasing.
• 3:27
Speaker 7: Yeah, thanks for thanks for allowing me to jump on here.
• 3:30
Speaker 7: Minds and Leasing. So we're a property manager. We handle
• 3:34
Speaker 7: everything from residential to commercial rentals, and we manage property
• 3:40
Speaker 7: for a lot of investors and locally and nationally. So
• 3:44
Speaker 7: we like to bring the money back here to the
• 3:46
Speaker 7: state of West Virginia and help people invest in real estate.
• 3:50
Speaker 6: You talk about property management, and this is something that
• 3:54
Speaker 6: a lot of people may not understand what that is.
• 3:57
Speaker 6: Give us the details on property management exactly it is
• 4:00
  Speaker 6: that you do.
• 4:01
Speaker 7: Yeah, of course, So we like to obviously have the
• 4:05
Speaker 7: ability to manage all aspects of the real estate transaction
• 4:10
Speaker 7: for an owner. So if an owner goes and invest
• 4:12
Speaker 7: in a say a residential house there in Charleston, then
• 4:16
Speaker 7: we like to facilitate the prospect of placing a tenant.
• 4:21
Speaker 7: There everything from monitor monitoring their applications to negotiating their
• 4:25
Speaker 7: lease and everything on behalf of the of the owner
• 4:28
Speaker 7: and then managing that entire process all the way through
• 4:31
Speaker 7: of the least term for them with communicating with the
• 4:35
Speaker 7: tenants and obviously collecting rents and everything along the line.
• 4:39
Speaker 6: I mean, I would think that for somebody that wants
• 4:41
Speaker 6: to be in the real estate game. And I know
• 4:44
Speaker 6: you guys hate the term landlord, but property owner Okay,
• 4:46
Speaker 6: I hate property owner. But there's a lot that goes
• 4:49
Speaker 6: into that that people may It's not as simple as
• 4:51
Speaker 6: just buying a building and saying, Okay, on the third
• 4:54
Speaker 6: of the month, I'll go collect the rent or whatever
• 4:56
Speaker 6: the case may be. There's a lot more that goes
• 4:57
Speaker 6: into that, and that's what that's what you guys do.
• 5:00
Speaker 7: Yeah, the scalability of it is obviously the most challenging part.
• 5:04
Speaker 7: And you know, the for someone that hasn't maybe been
• 5:08
Speaker 7: in the business on a day to day basis, it
• 5:11
Speaker 7: is it's challenging. You don't you have to deal with
• 5:14
Speaker 7: a lot of questions and sometimes a lot of consequences
• 5:17
Speaker 7: that come along with tenants and the communications that go
• 5:20
Speaker 7: along with it. But more than anything, you know, with
• 5:23
Speaker 7: us having four thousand units under management, now we have
• 5:26
Speaker 7: the ability to have a really good grasp of the
• 5:29
Speaker 7: market and we're starting to get a lot of traction
• 5:31
Speaker 7: to where people are looking to us before even looking
• 5:34
Speaker 7: at anywhere else. So ultimately, you know, with our owners
• 5:37
Speaker 7: and the people that we manage property for, we're able
• 5:41
Speaker 7: to really get a good a good idea of the
• 5:46
Speaker 7: people out there that are looking for rentals and keeping
• 5:49
Speaker 7: those things on the market less time than anywhere else.
• 5:52
Speaker 6: Four thousand units, is that what you said for?
• 5:55
Speaker 7: Yeah, we're right at four thousand units under management.
• 5:57
Speaker 6: Now that's a lot of units, buddy, it is, for sure.
• 6:00
Speaker 6: Give us hold a history of the company.
• 6:03
Speaker 7: Yeah, for sure. So I started this company about nine
• 6:06
Speaker 7: years ago. Actually before that, I had started in the
• 6:11
Speaker 7: business in property management, investing in real estate myself as
• 6:15
Speaker 7: an investor. Kind of came from a family business that
• 6:18
Speaker 7: liked to be in the real estate business and do
• 6:20
Speaker 7: some of development and things along those lines, and I
• 6:23
Speaker 7: started building a team to manage property, my own property,
• 6:27
Speaker 7: and during that time, we had a lot of people
• 6:30
Speaker 7: come to us and say, hey, do you manage for
• 6:32
Speaker 7: other people? I turned people away for four or five
• 6:35
Speaker 7: years until ultimately the pandemic hit. It made a lot
• 6:38
Speaker 7: of sense to really dive deeper into this, So I
• 6:42
Speaker 7: started opening this up to consumer what we call our
• 6:45
Speaker 7: owners and investors about eight years ago now, and we
• 6:50
Speaker 7: started with two hundred units and myself just doing it
• 6:55
Speaker 7: kind of on the side, and then it's continued to
• 6:57
Speaker 7: grow and I have the best team that I could
• 7:00
Speaker 7: ever ask for, and we're really really fortunate to be
• 7:03
Speaker 7: able to get a lot of phone calls on a
• 7:05
  Speaker 7: daily basis.
• 7:06
Speaker 6: The day valance showing five any line bront to you.

• 7:13
Speaker 6: Bridge Valley dot eedu Flora. I want to talk about
• 7:15
Speaker 6: the market as it is right now. You know, a
• 7:17
Speaker 6: couple of weeks ago, we have our good friend at
• 7:19
Speaker 6: Teraroll Ellison, Well, she's actually been on a couple of
• 7:21
Speaker 6: times on this show and on the Afternoon show as well,
• 7:23
Speaker 6: talking about this whole Advantage Valley thing and this housing survey.
• 7:28
Speaker 6: I mean, you know, we kind of knew what this
• 7:31
Speaker 6: was going, what the results were going to be. But
• 7:32
Speaker 6: the bottom line is in an area, and I'm going
• 7:36
Speaker 6: to scale it down a little bit, but in an
• 7:38
Speaker 6: area from Charleston on I sixty four to Huntington, we
• 7:42
Speaker 6: have a housing shortage. We have got a big time
• 7:46
Speaker 6: housing crisis. As a lot of people would say comment.
• 7:49
Speaker 7: On that, Yeah, we absolutely do. And the work that
• 7:53
Speaker 7: Aryl's doing and Advantage Valley is phenomenal, and all the
• 7:57
Speaker 7: information that we're able to gather and be community partners
• 8:00
Speaker 7: with that organization, we're super happy to be able to
• 8:03
Speaker 7: do first and foremost. But to your point, with the
• 8:06
Speaker 7: housing shortage that we have not only in Charlesto, not
• 8:09
Speaker 7: only in Hontingket along that corridor, as you mentioned, it
• 8:12
  Speaker 7: is serious.
• 8:14
  Speaker 8: You know.
• 8:14
Speaker 7: I'll give you some really quick statistics that on the
• 8:18
Speaker 7: rental side of the business, So on average of those
• 8:23
Speaker 7: four thousand units, we usually see about a five percent
• 8:25
Speaker 7: turnover on a monthly basis, So we're getting to see
• 8:27
Speaker 7: about twenty to twenty five units open that we need
• 8:30
Speaker 7: to fill on a monthly basis. Within those twenty or
• 8:34
Speaker 7: twenty five units, we're actually seeing one hundred and seventy
• 8:37
Speaker 7: five people, one hundred and seventy five people apply for
• 8:39
Speaker 7: those units, so we know the demand is there right
• 8:44
Speaker 7: and everyone's needs are different, but ultimately we don't have
• 8:48
Speaker 7: the product to be able to put out there. From
• 8:51
Speaker 7: a self perspective, most generally on the rental side of
• 8:54
Speaker 7: the business, the end goal for everyone is to acquire
• 8:57
Speaker 7: a house without it without any question. The information that
• 9:02
Speaker 7: we've received back from that study was bar non accurate
• 9:06
Speaker 7: and u and one that we hope that we're able
• 9:09
Speaker 7: to facilitate, you know, in the near future and try
• 9:12
Speaker 7: to combat some of those needs that we have.
• 9:14
Speaker 6: And people would say that are listening and said, we'll
• 9:16
Speaker 6: just go build more places. It's it's really not quite
• 9:18
  Speaker 6: that simple.
• 9:20
Speaker 7: The scale our our economy of scale is just really hard.
• 9:23
Speaker 7: It's very challenging right now. It's extremely difficult to as
• 9:28
Speaker 7: a as a home builder. You don't see very many
• 9:31
Speaker 7: of those any longer. Those numbers are hard to be
• 9:35
Speaker 7: able to make the profit that is needed for the
• 9:39
Speaker 7: time that it takes to build those. So, you know,
• 9:41
Speaker 7: we we're hoping to look to some of our national
• 9:44
Speaker 7: builders to be able to come in here and facilitate
• 9:46
Speaker 7: some of that in the near future and put together
• 9:50
Speaker 7: a conglomerate to take care of of that housing shortage,
• 9:54
Speaker 7: but it's going to definitely take local talent UH in
• 9:58
Speaker 7: collaboration with some of the scale of economy as well.
• 10:02
Speaker 6: Talking to Thora Banks before we let you go, one
• 10:04
Speaker 6: of the things I really admire Thora about you and
• 10:07
Speaker 6: your company is as we spend time on this show,
• 10:09
Speaker 6: we spent this interview talking about real estate and rental
• 10:12
Speaker 6: properties and something. But you guys do so much. How
• 10:16
Speaker 6: many different companies do you own?
• 10:20
Speaker 7: Cheese, Dave, I don't know. You asked me about Tuesday.
• 10:23
Speaker 7: I never I'm not sure. So under the Meeks Company
• 10:28
Speaker 7: of Businesses, we have about nine different businesses and that
• 10:31
Speaker 7: ranges everything from digital marketing to home automation and security.
• 10:35
Speaker 7: We also have an HVAC filter company and a real
• 10:40
Speaker 7: estate brokerage, real estate property management development side of that
• 10:43
Speaker 7: real estate conglomerate as well. So we're very fortunate. Again,
• 10:48
Speaker 7: I speak to the team that I have I am.
• 10:52
Speaker 7: I am just a problem solver. That's about the only
• 10:54
Speaker 7: thing that I'm good at. So other than that, my
• 10:57
Speaker 7: team is very effective in the best in the business.
• 11:00
Speaker 6: All Right, Hey, I appreciate you taking time out of
• 11:03
Speaker 6: your schedule to be here. And one of the great
• 11:05
Speaker 6: things about the Meeks folks too, is that they employ
• 11:08
Speaker 6: a lot of people. But you also have some openings.
• 11:11
Speaker 6: I'm sure, so, I mean, do you have any job
• 11:14
Speaker 6: any any current job opens at this time? Do you
• 11:16
Speaker 6: let your managers handle that, because I know everybody's trying
• 11:18
Speaker 6: to hire people at this point.
• 11:19
Speaker 7: Thor, Yeah, yeah, absolutely, We're always looking for talent. We've
• 11:23
Speaker 7: been very fortunate over the last few weeks to fill
• 11:25
Speaker 7: a few positions that we did have open But we
• 11:28
Speaker 7: do have a few openings for a few different the businesses,
• 11:32
Speaker 7: and you can find us on our socials and get
• 11:35
Speaker 7: some more information on that, because if I talk details,
• 11:38
Speaker 7: I'll probably get in trouble with my management, sir, I
• 11:40
Speaker 7: got I'll pass that.
• 11:43

Speaker 4: Hey you doing, buddy, Not bad man, not bad at all.
• 15:28
Speaker 6: Welcome to our new home here.
• 15:29
  Speaker 4: It's pretty beautiful.
• 15:31
Speaker 6: Yeah, all right, so let's get right to it here.
• 15:35
Speaker 6: It's of course always a pleasure to have you, have
• 15:38
Speaker 6: you on the show. And I know you're a big
• 15:40
Speaker 6: time football fan. Are you still on the Cowboys train
• 15:42
  Speaker 6: with me?
• 15:44
Speaker 4: I kind of gave them. I'm putting them on the
• 15:46
Speaker 4: back burner right now. I need to. I need them
• 15:49
Speaker 4: to do something that shows that they want to win.
• 15:52
Speaker 6: Well until Jerry Jones is and then you got Stephen Jones.
• 15:56
Speaker 13: After that, So I don't Davin Jones isn't that bad.
• 16:00
Speaker 13: But just to keep Torpedo and the team, I just, oh,
• 16:04
Speaker 13: it just broke my heart each year.
• 16:06
  Speaker 4: Man.
• 16:06
Speaker 6: Well we'll get used to that, all right. So some
• 16:08
Speaker 6: of us are all most of us we're watching glued
• 16:10
Speaker 6: to the TV watch the NFL draft. Really no big
• 16:13
Speaker 6: surprise with a couple of the first picks, but then
• 16:16
Speaker 6: mister Sanders, some of the great Dion Sanders doesn't get
• 16:19
Speaker 6: picked till the fifth round by the Browns on Saturday.
• 16:23
Speaker 6: He told me about thirty seven other quarterbacks in that
• 16:25
Speaker 6: room right now. I joked with everyone, I think everybody
• 16:28
Speaker 6: but Brian Saipinatto Graham are going to be going to
• 16:30
Speaker 6: be in that room. Let's tackle it head on. In
• 16:35
Speaker 6: your opinion, You've been very vocal about this on social media.
• 16:38
Speaker 6: Why did it take so long for him to get drafted.
• 16:41
Speaker 13: Is layered There. There are a lot of issues with
• 16:46
Speaker 13: why he fell. First of all, I'll say him being
• 16:51
Speaker 13: a Sanders was problematic going out the gate.
• 16:55
  Speaker 4: I think.
• 16:57
Speaker 13: Dion misread it, and I think Chador was just only
• 17:04
Speaker 13: going by what his father has taught him all these
• 17:07
Speaker 13: years that he was good, and he is good, and
• 17:10
Speaker 13: he's first and second round good. But then there's an
• 17:14
Speaker 13: underlying thing that we all know about the NFL is
• 17:19
Speaker 13: I mean, people might not.
• 17:21
  Speaker 4: Speak on it.
• 17:22
Speaker 13: I've watched every show that you could watch. Certain people
• 17:25
Speaker 13: talk talked about it, and then certain people talked around it.
• 17:29
  Speaker 4: But it is.
• 17:31
Speaker 13: Still a white owners league, and there's certain ways that
• 17:35
Speaker 13: you have to present yourself, and they consistently do this
• 17:40
  Speaker 13: with black athletes.
• 17:42
Speaker 4: If you feel that you.
• 17:44
Speaker 13: Are worthy of being in the room, that's offensive, and
• 17:51
Speaker 13: of course it's a job interview. At the end of
• 17:53
Speaker 13: the day, I was never drafted, but I mean I
• 17:56
Speaker 13: was a highly recruited high school athlete.
• 18:01
Speaker 4: I have best friends that went to the pros, and
• 18:04
Speaker 4: so I know the system. I get it.
• 18:06
Speaker 13: But you can't say and be honest with yourself that
• 18:11
Speaker 13: that was a football decision. It just was not a
• 18:14
Speaker 13: football decision, and on its face, it started to make
• 18:19
Speaker 13: sure that even he when he left the third round,
• 18:21
Speaker 13: I was comfortable with that, even though I felt he
• 18:24
Speaker 13: should have gone to in the first round. After the
• 18:27
Speaker 13: third round, it's personal after that, and so that's I
• 18:31
Speaker 13: was very vocal about that, even though I do acknowledge
• 18:35
Speaker 13: he should have done some things probably differently.
• 18:38
  Speaker 4: I was comfortable.
• 18:39
Speaker 13: I was uncomfortable during the year with a couple of
• 18:42
Speaker 13: things that he did and a couple of things his
• 18:45
  Speaker 13: father said.
• 18:46
Speaker 4: But at the end of the day, the draft is.
• 18:49
Speaker 13: Supposed to be about football, supposed to be about to
• 18:52
Speaker 13: play on the field, and this is a kid who
• 18:55
Speaker 13: has displayed exemplary character nothing off the field. He's a
• 19:01
Speaker 13: good kid, good student. You can't look at his past
• 19:04
Speaker 13: and say, well, he's not good character. And so it
• 19:07
Speaker 13: had to be personal. And I think the black and
• 19:11
Speaker 13: white element did play a lot of a role in that,
• 19:14
Speaker 13: because we can look back in history and we see
• 19:18
Speaker 13: other people who were more brass, more confident, or whatever
• 19:25
Speaker 13: you want to call it, and that never counted against him,
• 19:28
Speaker 13: but because it was him, it was a problem. They
• 19:31
Speaker 13: did the same thing to Lamar Jackson. So I mean,
• 19:35
Speaker 13: if you take the blinders off, you can see actually
• 19:39
  Speaker 13: what it is.
• 19:39
Speaker 6: But what I mean, I understand what you're saying, and
• 19:42
Speaker 6: then I followed you on social media. That's why I
• 19:43
Speaker 6: wanted to have you here. I mean, it's the players
• 19:46
Speaker 6: in the NFL. It's majority black league as far as
• 19:48
Speaker 6: the players go. Now, as you pointed out, not ownership,
• 19:51
Speaker 6: not general managers, a lot of head coaches, which that
• 19:53
Speaker 6: was unheard of, you know, twenty thirty years ago, almost
• 19:58
  Speaker 6: I would guess. And I don't have the Marlon I
• 20:00
  Speaker 6: don't I don't have the stature from me. I'm going
• 20:02
Speaker 6: to say probably eighty five percent. It's an African American League.
• 20:05
Speaker 6: Probably that's that's about that overall number one draft pick
• 20:10
Speaker 6: was black. Right, But you're saying there's more to it than.
• 20:14
Speaker 4: This, right, it is. It depends on how you present yourself.
• 20:20
Speaker 6: So had he been a little bit in your words,
• 20:22
Speaker 6: I mean, you know, I don't want to put words
• 20:24
Speaker 6: in your mouth. But had he been a little bit
• 20:26
Speaker 6: less Sanders like it, right, he would have possibly have
• 20:31
  Speaker 6: gone higher.
• 20:32
Speaker 13: Right, Boomer's size and I think it was yesterday and
• 20:35
Speaker 13: I can't remember the podcast, but he went on a
• 20:38
Speaker 13: podcast and said out of his mouth that it was
• 20:43
Speaker 13: personal and he Boomer size in himself admitted that he
• 20:49
Speaker 13: didn't like how he presented himself.
• 20:52
Speaker 4: In the interviews or doing the year.
• 20:55
Speaker 6: And almost it that he did that a lot of
• 20:57
Speaker 6: people didn't like it, maybe didn't follow.
• 20:58
Speaker 13: This said that Really, what Shadur did is he pretty
• 21:04
Speaker 13: much said the league, I don't need the league, the
• 21:07
Speaker 13: league needs me. Which that that's a little when you
• 21:13
Speaker 13: walk in the door and present that as a black man,
• 21:19
Speaker 13: that's problematic. Because Johnny Manziel, whom I said in My
• 21:26
Speaker 13: life football ponders named him Johnny Football, he was the
• 21:32
Speaker 13: most to this date, the most arrogant football player coming
• 21:36
Speaker 13: out of college I've ever seen and never had that problem.
• 21:40
Speaker 13: He was drafted number one, and he was highly sought
• 21:43
Speaker 13: after until some of the off the field and he
• 21:46
Speaker 13: had off the field problems in college. Nobody had an
• 21:50
Speaker 13: issue with him with his character. Baker Mayfield was He's
• 21:55
Speaker 13: number two on the arrogant list. Anytime you hold your
• 21:58
Speaker 13: privates on the on the sideline in college and hold
• 22:02
Speaker 13: up the middle finger to the crowd consistently, that was
• 22:05
Speaker 13: his thing, and nobody bring that up in the interview.
• 22:10
Speaker 13: And I had access to a couple of his interviews
• 22:13
Speaker 13: because I still have friends that work with professional teams
• 22:18
Speaker 13: as far as conditioning is concerned, and they said he
• 22:22
Speaker 13: went into the interviews saying, I'm your man while you're
• 22:27
Speaker 13: interviewing me, that there's no reason for this.
• 22:30
Speaker 4: Just put me on the field. When should dirt does it?
• 22:33
Speaker 13: It offends everybody, And so that's problematic to me because again,
• 22:40
Speaker 13: he was number one on the stats all year long.
• 22:44
Speaker 13: Everybody says he was the number one quarterback in college football.
• 22:48
Speaker 4: Then when we get to the draft, now everybody has
• 22:52
  Speaker 4: a problem.
• 22:54
Speaker 6: Let me take care of this. The Dave Allence showing
• 22:56
Speaker 6: five a line brought to you apart by your hometown
• 22:58
Speaker 6: baseball team, the Charleston Dirty Birds. Birds playing that Southern
• 23:00
Speaker 6: Maryland hobo but this Friday night against the Blue Crabs,
• 23:03
Speaker 6: again of Southern Maryland. First Pitch Ballpark, six thirty five tickets,
• 23:07
Speaker 6: schedule promotions, more of as a dirty Birds baseball dot com.
• 23:10
Speaker 6: Let me give you some of what some of the
• 23:11
Speaker 6: experts said about about Sugar Sanders arm strength good but
• 23:15
Speaker 6: not great. One source said, he interviewed well with some
• 23:18
Speaker 6: teams and not so well with others, and real or
• 23:23
Speaker 6: imagined some people said didn't seem to be a very
• 23:28
Speaker 6: good team player. And I didn't say that. That's what
• 23:32
Speaker 6: That's what they said. And a little too much drama
• 23:36
Speaker 6: with the old man. Right, go back and because I
• 23:39
Speaker 6: know you and I are about the same age, go
• 23:40
Speaker 6: back and remember Deon Sanders when Dion came in the league.
• 23:43
Speaker 6: I mean that I think you can rule out any
• 23:46
  Speaker 6: adoption questions.
• 23:47
  Speaker 4: That's definitely right.
• 23:49
Speaker 6: But I mean there's one hundred percent of that. There's
• 23:52
Speaker 6: a lot of people that don't like Deon Sanders' coaching
• 23:55
Speaker 6: style at Colorado. Does that is that a racial thing?
• 24:00
  Speaker 8: In yours?
• 24:01
  Speaker 4: Solutely?
• 24:02
Speaker 13: He turned when you look at Colorado and Colorado even
• 24:07
Speaker 13: when Colorado was good, Colorado really wasn't a prime time program.
• 24:15
Speaker 13: They've never been a prime time program from the time
• 24:18
Speaker 13: we were in high school to now. Even though they've
• 24:21
Speaker 13: had I don't know how many Heisman Trophy winners that
• 24:25
Speaker 13: maybe they've had one.
• 24:27
Speaker 6: They were pretty good, like I want to say ninety
• 24:29
Speaker 6: four to ninety five, did not consistently they.
• 24:31
Speaker 13: Wanted they're not consistently and even then you still didn't
• 24:34
Speaker 13: see them at seven o'clock on Saturday.
• 24:38
Speaker 4: And what prime time.
• 24:40
Speaker 13: Brought to Colorado, he brought everything that comes with him.
• 24:45
Speaker 13: And really, when he was drafted, they didn't like him.
• 24:47
Speaker 13: But the draft was a little bit different then. It
• 24:50
Speaker 13: was completely on the field things.
• 24:53
Speaker 6: There was no social media, no, it was It was
• 24:55
  Speaker 6: totally different.
• 24:56
Speaker 4: And so what should Dure is showing us. He's showing
• 25:01
Speaker 4: us what his father taught him.
• 25:03
Speaker 13: And you can imagine growing up as a kid watching
• 25:06
Speaker 13: videos of your father and admiring your father. All of
• 25:10
Speaker 13: us who had good fathers will know we want to
• 25:13
Speaker 13: be like our father. The problem with that is and
• 25:19
Speaker 13: should let me back up a little bit. Shouldur doesn't
• 25:22
Speaker 13: have the cannon for the arm. He can't run, and
• 25:27
Speaker 13: that's one thing he did not get from his father.
• 25:29
  Speaker 13: I don't know, I don't know how that happened. But
• 25:32
Speaker 13: he's the slowest Tom Brady. But he has better pocket presence.
• 25:38
Speaker 13: If you know football, anything about football, he has better
• 25:41
Speaker 13: pocket presence than any other college quarterback because he can
• 25:44
Speaker 13: move the pocket if he needs to, he can leave
• 25:47
Speaker 13: the pocket. And if you can lead in qbr every
• 25:53
Speaker 13: stat that a college football player, college football quarterback has,
• 25:58
Speaker 13: with the exception of running touchdown and run for your
• 26:01
Speaker 13: life the entire two years and still leading those stats,
• 26:06
Speaker 13: you can't tell me it's he doesn't have the talent.
• 26:09
Speaker 4: And so it had to be. And again I will
• 26:14
  Speaker 4: say he could.
• 26:14
Speaker 13: Have probably been in those interviews a little different because
• 26:18
Speaker 13: I have heard that he tanked a couple of those
• 26:20
Speaker 13: interviews because he didn't want to play for those teams
• 26:24
Speaker 13: that came from Dion, And so that I don't I don't.
• 26:31
Speaker 13: I don't take away the fact that there was some
• 26:33
Speaker 13: things that he could have done differently, because I mean,
• 26:37
Speaker 13: we all heard Dion say if there was a team
• 26:40
Speaker 13: that wanted him that I don't want him to be on,
• 26:42
Speaker 13: I'm going to get involved that's problematic.
• 26:44
Speaker 6: And he doesn't have an agent.
• 26:46
Speaker 4: As far as they didn't hire an agent, Dion is the.
• 26:49
Speaker 6: Agent, so to speak, and some other trusted people around him.
• 26:51
Speaker 6: What would you say to the argument pastor that people
• 26:55
Speaker 6: would say, well, we just don't want the distraction, we
• 26:58
Speaker 6: don't want the drama, we don't want the show that
• 27:02
Speaker 6: comes with it. What would you say to that.
• 27:04
Speaker 13: It's supposed to be business wise? I think business wise
• 27:11
Speaker 13: that's a bad decision because when you see NFL football
• 27:19
Speaker 13: is based on ratings. If you see the job that
• 27:23
Speaker 13: what Dion Sanders brought to Colorado, even when they were losing,
• 27:29
Speaker 13: their games were on primetime. Yeah, that some of those
• 27:32
Speaker 13: games are hard to watch, and they and they still
• 27:36
Speaker 13: put them on primetime. I don't think at all that
• 27:40
Speaker 13: Shadur would have would have caused a problem in the
• 27:44
Speaker 13: locker room from him being a team player or not
• 27:47
Speaker 13: being a team player. If you can watch his tape,
• 27:52
Speaker 13: he is a consummate team player. Anybody that gets beat
• 27:56
Speaker 13: up like he beat like he got beat up and
• 27:58
Speaker 13: still consistently gets back in game and does exactly what
• 28:01
Speaker 13: he does, he's got to be a good team player.
• 28:05
Speaker 4: And so all of those.
• 28:06
Speaker 13: Things were developed as any excuse to keep him outside
• 28:12
Speaker 13: of the door. Now the circus that comes with him
• 28:17
Speaker 13: that it came again. It came with Johnny Manziel, no problem.
• 28:23
Speaker 13: It came with Baker Mayfield, no problem.
• 28:26
Speaker 6: I remember Jim McMahon, who I liked Jim McMahon, But
• 28:29
Speaker 6: I remember McMahon showing up, and there's a picture of
• 28:32
Speaker 6: him walking in with two cases of blood.
• 28:34
Speaker 13: Light right, right, right, And I forgot about McMahon. That's
• 28:38
  Speaker 13: that's a very good example.
• 28:41
Speaker 4: But I mean the the You gotta be honest, there's
• 28:46
Speaker 4: a difference in between those guys.
• 28:48
Speaker 6: Can I read a text here for you? Sure says
• 28:51
Speaker 6: I'm sorry, But a lot of athletes of all colors,
• 28:53
Speaker 6: races and yes, gender have that snarky, narcissistic attitude, and
• 28:57
Speaker 6: because so many people around them, especially parents, constantly tout
• 29:01
Speaker 6: how great they are, that does not help them in
• 29:03
Speaker 6: life at all. As for owners, just like with any job,
• 29:06
Speaker 6: the question should be made to those who aren't owners,
• 29:08
Speaker 6: why don't you buy a team? You want to go
• 29:11
Speaker 6: for the job, you have to apply for it. Enough
• 29:14
Speaker 6: of everything being about race.
• 29:15
  Speaker 4: I can't disagree with that.
• 29:17
Speaker 13: But when race is a factor, race is a factor,
• 29:20
Speaker 13: and and that you cannot look at it at face
• 29:24
Speaker 13: value and say that it is not a factor, because
• 29:27
Speaker 13: I bring up those other names to prove the point
• 29:31
Speaker 13: that if it was anyone else, because three quarterbacks went
• 29:36
Speaker 13: before Shador that have that never should have went before Shudor.
• 29:41
Speaker 13: One of them was black, the quarterback from Alabama, Mirros, Mirros,
• 29:49
Speaker 13: I me, you know, I'm an Alabama fan.
• 29:51
Speaker 6: Sorry about that. I know, man Georgia fan over here, and.
• 29:56
Speaker 4: You know, anybody in it in the s sc SEC,
• 30:01
Speaker 4: I'm gonna go for it.
• 30:02
Speaker 6: Supposed to be for an Arkansas game man, because where
• 30:05
  Speaker 6: you're from.
• 30:06
Speaker 13: Right, No, they never recruited Arkansas athletes when I was
• 30:10
Speaker 13: coming out of house.
• 30:10
Speaker 6: Okay, okay, all right, yeah, never, all right.
• 30:12
Speaker 14: Go ahead, brows never no he no, no, no, no,
• 30:15
Speaker 14: go ahead and get back to the I'm sorry, but
• 30:18
Speaker 14: he he was an average quarterback at best, especially in
• 30:25
  Speaker 14: the passing area.
• 30:27
Speaker 13: If you want a quarterback, you got to have a
• 30:29
Speaker 13: quarterback with good pocket presence, uh, good timing. Uh.
• 30:34
Speaker 4: Mirrors didn't have that. He could run over you. That
• 30:37
Speaker 4: that's his endearing quality. That's it.
• 30:41
Speaker 13: And so in order for them to lock Sdr out
• 30:44
Speaker 13: of the door, they picked every every quarterback that was
• 30:48
Speaker 13: statistically under him to prove a point.
• 30:52
Speaker 4: And like I said, boomers size.
• 30:54
Speaker 6: And said it, well, I thought mel Kiper was going
• 30:56
Speaker 6: to have a stroke.
• 30:56
Speaker 4: I know idea I did too.
• 30:59
Speaker 6: He What was fun monny was that he and one
• 31:01
Speaker 6: of the other commentators actually, and I can't remember which one,
• 31:05
Speaker 6: it was a man of color, They actually got into
• 31:09
Speaker 6: it on the set. One of the other commentators it
• 31:11
Speaker 6: was you know in the which which I thought was Okay,
• 31:14
Speaker 6: we gotta we gotta leave it here. But where do
• 31:15
Speaker 6: you want to leave this discussions?
• 31:18
  Speaker 8: Uh?
• 31:19
Speaker 13: Truthfully that we still have there are still racial elements
• 31:23
  Speaker 13: to really everything.
• 31:25
  Speaker 15: Uh.
• 31:25
Speaker 13: And I think we can't get over it until we're
• 31:30
Speaker 13: we are willing to have those type of conversations.
• 31:34
Speaker 4: And to the text.
• 31:35
Speaker 13: Uh, I could agree with that because parenting has a
• 31:39
Speaker 13: lot to do. You can look at it and literally
• 31:44
Speaker 13: even high school football here, parents will say that you
• 31:48
Speaker 13: are better, or they'll make sure that they'll make the
• 31:52
Speaker 13: child think they're better than they really are.
• 31:54
  Speaker 7: Uh.
• 31:54
  Speaker 4: That is problematic.
• 31:55
Speaker 13: And like I said at the beginning of the of
• 31:57
Speaker 13: the broadcast that I do think Dion made some missteps.
• 32:02
Speaker 13: This isn't the draft from the eighties. You have to
• 32:07
Speaker 13: think better and think differently. But we have to be
• 32:10
Speaker 13: honest that that race is a component. You just can't
• 32:14
Speaker 13: give somebody else another reason to use it against you,
• 32:19
Speaker 13: And I think he did that with how he went
• 32:22
Speaker 13: into some of those interviews.
• 32:24
Speaker 6: Pastor Marlon Collins, what's going on with your church, buddy?
• 32:26
Speaker 4: I mean we're good. Still got the same problems we
• 32:29
Speaker 4: used to have, though.
• 32:30
Speaker 6: That's another problem for another time, right. I mean you're
• 32:33
Speaker 6: talking about you've been very vocal about that too, about
• 32:35
Speaker 6: some issues within the city of Charleston, about about some

Speaker 6: of the homeless and has it gotten any better for you?

• 35:56
Speaker 6: Shador can't run, doesn't have an above average arm, and
• 35:59
Speaker 6: we're wondering why he went so low. Tex says Dave
• 36:03
Speaker 6: teams change, and some quite regularly and fast. Don't you
• 36:06
Speaker 6: think they may have looked at Sanders and said, wait,
• 36:09
Speaker 6: what if he doesn't like the new coach or the
• 36:10
Speaker 6: new system and he'll just quit or demand a trade?
• 36:14
Speaker 6: According to a Texter final text here, and then we'll
• 36:17
Speaker 6: bring mister Pushkin in here.
• 36:19
  Speaker 5: Uh.
• 36:19
Speaker 6: Colorado won the national championship in nineteen ninety. I knew
• 36:22
Speaker 6: it was sometime in the in the nineties. Tex says
• 36:24
Speaker 6: that they aren't a good program with Dion there talking
• 36:27
Speaker 6: about Colorado, speaking of not good programs, bringing Mike Pushkin.
• 36:30
Speaker 6: Hey don't buddy, Hey, I would never say that about
• 36:32
Speaker 6: your program. I got two programs that suck.
• 36:35
  Speaker 4: Now, how's that? How's that?
• 36:36
Speaker 6: You're gonna be on the eye.
• 36:38
  Speaker 4: It's about quantity.
• 36:39
Speaker 6: Now, let's just keep pushing them, man, pushing them.
• 36:42
  Speaker 2: Uh.
• 36:43
Speaker 6: How you doing, buddy, I'm doing well.
• 36:44
Speaker 4: Good to see you. Good morning.
• 36:46
Speaker 6: We get me and you and Collins together. We could
• 36:47
Speaker 6: talk about football all day. I was out in the
• 36:50
Speaker 6: hallway listening and yeah, how much do you put into
• 36:52
Speaker 6: what he said? I think that's a large part of it.
• 36:55
  Speaker 4: I do.
• 36:56
Speaker 10: I think if you and he made good points about
• 36:58
Speaker 10: Johnny Manziel went fairly high when he was drafted, and
• 37:02
Speaker 10: he had all sorts of off the field problems. You
• 37:04
Speaker 10: don't hear about any real off the field problems with Sanders, Uh,
• 37:09
Speaker 10: you know, other than you know, he's part of the
• 37:11
Speaker 10: Sanders family, and you would have a very uh you know.
• 37:15
  Speaker 4: Vocal father.
• 37:16
  Speaker 7: Uh.
• 37:16
Speaker 10: Possibly in the locker room. I think that that was
• 37:19
Speaker 10: a lot to do with it as well. But I
• 37:20
Speaker 10: think that, you know, I put a lot of merit
• 37:22
Speaker 10: to what Pastor Collins said. I agree with a lot
• 37:25
Speaker 10: of what he said.
• 37:26
Speaker 6: But Dave Alance showing five Eddieline brought to you part

• 37:37
Speaker 6: can't hurt you. Before we get into why you're here,
• 37:39
Speaker 6: to understand, your head down to Beckley. Uh, tonight, I
• 37:42
Speaker 6: hang out with a guy whose name you don't hear
• 37:44
Speaker 6: a lot these days, former Congressman Nick Joe Rayhall.
• 37:48
  Speaker 4: That's right.
• 37:49
Speaker 10: He is hosting a sort of a town hall and
• 37:51
Speaker 10: evening with Congressman ray Hall. And Uh, it would be
• 37:55
Speaker 10: really cool to hear from him. You know, he's not
• 37:57
Speaker 10: somebody who's really been out in the public a whole lot,
• 38:00
Speaker 10: uh since he left office. I think he's going to
• 38:02
Speaker 10: have a lot to say, especially here, you know, commemorating
• 38:05
Speaker 10: the day one hundred of the trumpet of the second
• 38:09
Speaker 10: Trump administration. I think I would imagine that Congressman ray
• 38:13
Speaker 10: Hall will have a whole lot to say. I'm interested
• 38:15
Speaker 10: in hearing what he has to say. If anybody out
• 38:17
Speaker 10: there is interested, and if anyone else is interested, it's
• 38:23
Speaker 10: six o'clock tonight at the Beckley Women's Club, Okay, and it's.
• 38:26
Speaker 6: Sponsored by the Executive Committee down there.
• 38:29
Speaker 10: Yeah, Raleigh County Democrats. I didn't open anybody, right, Yeah, Yeah,
• 38:32
Speaker 10: it's an open event.
• 38:32
Speaker 4: I like to have a good crowd here.
• 38:34
  Speaker 12: See.
• 38:34
Speaker 6: I remember well, despite that, I remember Ray Hall very
• 38:39
Speaker 6: well when I was growing up and I was in
• 38:41
Speaker 6: school and whatever, because he just seemed like he was
• 38:43
Speaker 6: in that office forever. I can remember him coming to
• 38:46
Speaker 6: my grade school and presenting a flag in like nineteen seventy.
• 38:50
Speaker 4: He was in office for a very long time.
• 38:52
Speaker 10: So I think what he has, what he has to say,
• 38:55
Speaker 10: has a lot of value, and I'm interested hearing.
• 38:57
Speaker 6: From I think one of the and I mentioned this,
• 38:59
Speaker 6: we got to call We'll get to it here momentarily, Murphy.
• 39:01
Speaker 6: I remember I said this on the show on the
• 39:04
Speaker 6: Metro News midday show not long ago, that Earl Ray
• 39:08
Speaker 6: Tomlin was another one that was always into public at
• 39:11
Speaker 6: former governor, and of course he was in the legislature
• 39:13
Speaker 6: and so on, and so we're both of these guys
• 39:15
Speaker 6: when they were done with politics just kind of walked
• 39:17
Speaker 6: away I would be very interesting. I've worked to try
• 39:20
Speaker 6: to get Earl Ray on the show and I'm still
• 39:22
Speaker 6: I'm not giving up on that yet, or former congress
• 39:25
Speaker 6: from Ray Hall for that matter, to see what they think.
• 39:27
Speaker 6: Because those guys were Democrats when democrats ruled everything, you know,
• 39:31
Speaker 6: and now that it's the exact opposite, I ain't going
• 39:34
Speaker 6: to make a very interesting conversation in talking to those guys.
• 39:38
Speaker 10: Well, I think, especially in light of what we're seeing
• 39:41
Speaker 10: right now that doesn't get talked about enough, and that
• 39:44
Speaker 10: is the hemorrhaging of jobs in West Virginia, especially that
• 39:49
Speaker 10: we're seeing just during the first one hundred days of
• 39:52
Speaker 10: the Trump administration. We heard another announcement yesterday through AMERICRPS.
• 39:56
Speaker 10: A lot of very worthwhile programs throughout West Virginia are
• 40:00
Speaker 10: being cut, programs that do a lot of good to
• 40:03
Speaker 10: help folks. And in particular, I'm thinking of one in
• 40:06
Speaker 10: southern West Virginia called High Rocks. It's a it's an
• 40:09
Speaker 10: excellent program. It is now on the chopping block. Unfortunately,
• 40:12
Speaker 10: we're hearing about these jobs up in Morgantown at Niosha
• 40:16
Speaker 10: on the chopping block. We've heard a lot of folks
• 40:19
Speaker 10: in the energy sector. Coal mining jobs are being lost
• 40:22
  Speaker 10: because of tariffs.
• 40:24
Speaker 6: In the coal industry right now at a little bit.
• 40:26
  Speaker 10: Yeah, I think there's a lot of there's a lot
• 40:30
Speaker 10: of harm being done to West Virginians right now. Is
• 40:32
Speaker 10: not being talked a lot, and that's why I really
• 40:34
Speaker 10: am interested in hearing what Congressman Rayjoll has to say.
• 40:37
Speaker 4: So I'll tell you what. I'll put in a good
• 40:39
Speaker 4: word for you and maybe.
• 40:40
Speaker 6: Yeah, I love to have him on the show. All right,
• 40:42
Speaker 6: let's go to the phones, and our buddy Jim is here.
• 40:45
  Speaker 4: Jim.
• 40:48
Speaker 6: Okay, we lost Jim. Hi, Jim, you can call back,
• 40:50
Speaker 6: all right. So, first one hundred days of the Trump administration,
• 40:52
Speaker 6: first one hundred days of the Morrissey administration. He had
• 40:56
Speaker 6: his first one hundred days announcement last week. He's signing
• 40:58
Speaker 6: one of your bills.
• 40:59
Speaker 10: I you know, hang it, yes, I don't believe he
• 41:03
Speaker 10: signed yet. Is going to Uh yeah, he was told.
• 41:05
Speaker 10: I was, you know, minding my own business yesterday as
• 41:09
Speaker 10: I always do. And uh, I received a phone call
• 41:11
Speaker 10: from a familiar phone line phone number, you know, which
• 41:15
Speaker 10: is the Governor's the Governor's office, and so I picked
• 41:19
Speaker 10: up a couple of rings in because I realized who
• 41:21
Speaker 10: was calling, and it was the governor and his uh
• 41:25
Speaker 10: and his chief of staff and to uh, he said, well,
• 41:28
Speaker 10: you embrace yourself. Got something shocking, I'll tell you. And
• 41:32
Speaker 10: I said that, uh, he's he was signing my bill,
• 41:36
Speaker 10: a bill that I got through the session.
• 41:37
Speaker 4: On the last day. Well, okay.
• 41:40
Speaker 10: The bill says that utilities have to have a communication
• 41:44
Speaker 10: plan in place, uh to communicate with their customers, with
• 41:48
Speaker 10: the rate payers in case of an outage. Whether it's
• 41:52
Speaker 10: a planned outage, they got to let people know ahead
• 41:54
  Speaker 10: of time.
• 41:54
  Speaker 7: UH.
• 41:55
Speaker 10: If it's uh, you know, an accident, an unplanned outage,
• 41:58
Speaker 10: they have to at the very least let people know
• 42:00
Speaker 10: what's going on. Yeah, you would think that that would
• 42:03
Speaker 10: already be required. But as a lot of us found
• 42:06
Speaker 10: out last winter over in the winner of three December
• 42:11
Speaker 10: of twenty three, I believe a lot of us found
• 42:13
Speaker 10: out over on the West Side, that was not the
• 42:15
Speaker 10: case when we were not getting regular updates. And I'm
• 42:19
Speaker 10: not going to name the utility, but we weren't getting
• 42:21
Speaker 10: regular updates into the gas outage that took place over
• 42:24
Speaker 10: on the West Side.
• 42:25
Speaker 4: So I introduced the bill last year.
• 42:27
Speaker 10: It passed the House last year unanimously. It didn't make
• 42:31
Speaker 10: it in the Senate. It was close to the end
• 42:33
Speaker 10: of session. Of course, you know the end of session,
• 42:35
Speaker 10: tempers start flaring and bills start getting pulled, and that
• 42:37
Speaker 10: bill unfortunately didn't make.
• 42:39
  Speaker 4: It last year.
• 42:40
Speaker 10: But it did pass this year, and it passed unanimously.
• 42:43
Speaker 10: We had the support of the Public Service Commission, we
• 42:45
Speaker 10: had the support of American Electric Power, who already does this,
• 42:49
Speaker 10: and so it made its way to the Governor's desk.
• 42:51
Speaker 10: And I got a phone call yesterday and he said,
• 42:53
Speaker 10: you know, we don't always see eye to eye on everything.
• 42:55
Speaker 4: In fact, we rarely do.
• 42:57
Speaker 10: But on this particular issue, uh yeah, I don't see
• 43:01
Speaker 10: who would be against it. That nobody is against it.
• 43:03
  Speaker 10: So it's a build that you know, it's a way
• 43:05
Speaker 10: we should focus on legislation. It's an issue that it's
• 43:08
Speaker 10: affecting our constituents and we and we bring it to
• 43:11
Speaker 10: the legislature and make a case for it. And every
• 43:14
Speaker 10: now and then a good idea makes it out of
• 43:16
Speaker 10: the bad idea factory one, I say one, right.
• 43:18
Speaker 4: There were there were a few.

Speaker 6: When is they left us? Worry about coal mining jobs? Leftist?
• 46:03
Speaker 6: When do you worry about coal mining jobs? Well, worry
• 46:05
  Speaker 6: about everybody's job.
• 46:06
Speaker 10: And that's as a as a democrat, we care about
• 46:10
Speaker 10: working people, and it's not just about the coal companies.
• 46:13
Speaker 10: We care more about the folks that are going in
• 46:15
Speaker 10: and out of those minds, and we'll make sure that
• 46:16
Speaker 10: they Most importantly, the most important thing to come out
• 46:20
Speaker 10: of a mine is the Cole. It's the coal miner
• 46:22
Speaker 10: and that's what we care about, and that's why we
• 46:24
Speaker 10: would protect something like Niosh that studies black lung and
• 46:29
Speaker 10: know how these tariffs are actually hurting coal mining jobs.
• 46:32
Speaker 4: So yeah, we cared deeply about about all jobs.
• 46:36
Speaker 6: Not interested in hearing the delegates Democrat talking points, but
• 46:39
  Speaker 6: like the Ears take on the j E t S
• 46:41
Speaker 6: Jets Jets Jets draft.
• 46:43
Speaker 10: I'm happy it wasn't a you know, it was a no.
• 46:45
Speaker 4: Frill draft for the Jets.
• 46:47
Speaker 10: We took an offensive lineman tackle, offensive tackle that we
• 46:51
Speaker 10: desperately needed in Membu from from Missouri, I believe. I
• 46:55
Speaker 10: think we took a Georgia bulldog in the receiver area
• 47:00
Speaker 10: Smith who was very very fast, but is not known
• 47:03
Speaker 10: for catching balls that well. But we can that can
• 47:06
Speaker 10: You can't. You can't teach speed, but you can't teach
• 47:09
Speaker 10: somebody how to catch better. So he's we drafted him.
• 47:12
Speaker 10: I think that was third round, second round. I believe
• 47:14
Speaker 10: we got Jason Taylor's son, Mason Taylor, who's a tight end,
• 47:18
Speaker 10: and of course Jason Taylor toward the end of his
• 47:20
Speaker 10: career did play for the Jets.
• 47:22
Speaker 6: The Cowboys have three offensive linemen named Tyler. So so
• 47:25
Speaker 6: we got that tech says Yep. Pushkin only cares when
• 47:28
Speaker 6: it happens to him. I'm not sure what that's in
• 47:30
Speaker 6: reference to Texas. Dave, I usually agree.
• 47:32
Speaker 10: I deal with that means I'm not losing my job.
• 47:35
Speaker 6: I usually agree, says Dave. I usually agree with delicate
• 47:38
Speaker 6: Pushkin on most issues. But I challenge his point that
• 47:40
Speaker 6: former Congressman Nick ray Hall had value to our state.
• 47:44
Speaker 6: If taking that stance, maybe provide some examples of how
• 47:46
Speaker 6: life in southern West Virginia improved during his long tenured
• 47:49
Speaker 6: time in Washington. Fact is, under his reign, Southern West
• 47:52
Speaker 6: Virginia sank further into generational poverty.
• 47:55
  Speaker 4: I disagree.
• 47:56
Speaker 10: I think he had that institutional knowledge there with Congressman
• 47:58
Speaker 10: ray Hall and with him and with you know, his
• 48:02
Speaker 10: mentor former Senator Bird. Without them, you wouldn't have a
• 48:06
Speaker 10: lot of these federal jobs that Donald Trump is now
• 48:09
Speaker 10: taking away. And you also wouldn't have the interstate system.
• 48:13
Speaker 6: Speaking of which President Trump says, a texture has done
• 48:15
Speaker 6: more to upright America than any president in my lifetime.
• 48:19
Speaker 6: This is common sense, and everyone knows that, regardless of
• 48:21
Speaker 6: what Democrat Mike push concerned.
• 48:23
Speaker 4: Well, the polls say differently.
• 48:24
Speaker 6: I've talked about the polls yesterday. He's got I mean
• 48:27
Speaker 6: President Trump and this is and of course they'll they'll
• 48:30
Speaker 6: say it's fake news, but I'm just this is ABC
• 48:32
Speaker 6: News Washington posting this post poll episodes said that President
• 48:36
Speaker 6: Trump has the lowest approval rating of any president after
• 48:39
Speaker 6: one hundred days and eighty years.
• 48:41
Speaker 10: And you know who is in second place?
• 48:43
  Speaker 4: Donald Trump.
• 48:44
Speaker 6: He's only seen Donald Trump, is That's what I mean?
• 48:46
  Speaker 17: Oh?
• 48:47
Speaker 10: In second yeah, over one hundred first hundred days.
• 48:50
Speaker 6: Yes, okay, all right, you said you had something else
• 48:52
Speaker 6: you wanted to bring up.
• 48:53
  Speaker 4: What is it?
• 48:54
  Speaker 7: Oh?
• 48:54
  Speaker 4: This Sunday.
• 48:55
Speaker 10: Uh, there's going to be a virtual town hall a
• 48:58
Speaker 10: like after the session post Sesson wrap up with the
• 49:02
Speaker 10: House Democrats will be joined the course by Senator Garcia.
• 49:05
Speaker 10: All four of you, there's there's a few more than that. Sorry,
• 49:08
Speaker 10: and and tell you what, after the next election, look
• 49:09
Speaker 10: for more because I think there's a lot of people
• 49:11
Speaker 10: who are upset with what happened during this legislative session,
• 49:15
Speaker 10: which was largely nothing and mostly Republicans said, I know that.
• 49:19
Speaker 4: You've had some guests.
• 49:20
Speaker 10: I believe you know when you when when Greg Thomas
• 49:23
Speaker 10: is saying it's the worst session ever, and I'm saying
• 49:25
Speaker 10: it's the worst session ever. In the Manufacturers Association and
• 49:28
Speaker 10: the Chamber of Commerce are all in agreement that this
• 49:31
Speaker 10: was the worst session ever. Guess what, it was probably
• 49:33
Speaker 10: the worst session ever. So yeah, we're going to be
• 49:36
Speaker 10: talking about that worst session ever this Sunday. It's on
• 49:38
Speaker 10: It's on zoom. You can find the the the the
• 49:41
Speaker 10: link to it on the West Virginia Democratic Party website
• 49:45
Speaker 10: WV democrats dot com. You can find it on the
• 49:48
Speaker 10: House Democrats, you know, social media pages.
• 49:51
Speaker 4: But it'll be this Sunday.
• 49:52
  Speaker 10: I believe at eight o'clock we're going to have a
• 49:55
Speaker 10: post session wrap up.
• 49:57
Speaker 6: So you say that there's gonna be more Democrats elected
• 50:00
Speaker 6: next year, what's the plan? State Democratic Party Chair, what's
• 50:03
  Speaker 6: the plan?
• 50:04
Speaker 10: Well, we're going to recruit, recruit, recruit, get folks on
• 50:07
  Speaker 10: the ballot.
• 50:07
Speaker 6: It's not just Yeah, that's the first thing, but it's
• 50:09
Speaker 6: not the only thing, because you've got to change a
• 50:11
Speaker 6: lot of minds out there.
• 50:12
  Speaker 7: Yeah.
• 50:12
Speaker 10: Well, I think our best messengers are our candidates, But
• 50:15
Speaker 10: the first step is getting the great candidates in place.
• 50:19
Speaker 10: And uh, I think we've done this year.
• 50:21
Speaker 4: More than any other.
• 50:22
Speaker 10: I think the Democrats who are in office did an
• 50:25
Speaker 10: excellent job of communicating. And you saw more videos, more posts,
• 50:31
Speaker 10: uh uh, you know, more interviews, uh, getting out there
• 50:35
Speaker 10: into the uh, into the you know, on people's phones,
• 50:39
Speaker 10: on people's computers, on people on people's television sets. We
• 50:43
Speaker 10: have been getting the message out and a lot of
• 50:45
Speaker 10: times on the other side, they're not allowed to do interviews.
• 50:49
Speaker 6: Well, and I think that you got to run on
• 50:50
Speaker 6: more than and this is a national Democrat thing. I
• 50:53
Speaker 6: think you've got to run on more than just we're
• 50:55
Speaker 6: not Donald Trump. And I think you know, you New
• 50:57
Speaker 6: York especially here, you know.
• 50:59
Speaker 10: Gen you know, we're going to run on a kitchen
• 51:00
Speaker 10: table issues. And unfortunately we're not seeing a lot of
• 51:03
Speaker 10: that from the Republican super majority right now. They're not
• 51:06
Speaker 10: talking about things like fixing PIA, they haven't done that.
• 51:09
Speaker 10: They're not talking about any way to bring in more revenue.
• 51:15
Speaker 10: They're not talking about creating jobs. They're talking about bathrooms,
• 51:20
Speaker 10: locker rooms, examination rooms. They're not talking about classrooms. They're
• 51:25
Speaker 10: not talking about putting teachers in the classrooms. They had
• 51:27
Speaker 10: largely talked about things that don't really affect our day
• 51:30
Speaker 10: to day lives, and I think most people are starting
• 51:32
  Speaker 10: to realize.
• 51:33
Speaker 6: That we got to wrap it up.
• 51:34
  Speaker 12: TJ.
• 51:35
Speaker 6: Before you take over, talk you want to do anything
• 51:37
Speaker 6: you want to ask mister Pushkin while you're here. Why
• 51:39
Speaker 6: he's here? I think you covered it. No football questions, No,
• 51:42
  Speaker 6: I'm good.
• 51:43
  Speaker 7: All right?
• 51:43
Speaker 6: What's on the show today?
• 51:44
  Speaker 12: We got JB.
• 51:45
Speaker 8: Mccusky coming up at ten oh six. We're taking a
