- 0:03podcast. Whoa.
- 0:04Whoa, Kevin says. Whoa, Somewhere, somewhere else.
- 0:08He actually, it's good because his computer has been revived,
- 0:12but OK, he is. Yeah, he, he said.
- 0:15He, he fixed whatever the heck that was last time that was.
- 0:19Pretty, yeah. I mean he also needs a new
- 0:21webcam because he keeps like dipping off in video but.
- 0:25Yeah, it's yeah. Roast for today for Kevin will
- 0:29be he. His tech is just garbage these
- 0:32days. Yeah, yeah, poor guy, but he is
- 0:37watching the Montreal Victoire. I wonder if Marie Philip Poulin
- 0:42would be first overall if they had like a woman's fantasy
- 0:44Hockey League. I feel like it's a no brainer
- 0:46right? Probably.
- 0:47I don't know, I feel like she's. Like I went to.
- 0:51Years and she's. Super, that's fair.
- 0:53I went to three games last season of the V12.
- 0:57It's actually a really fun show and also like way more
- 0:59affordable than the haves I got for for like a push present for
- 1:03for Eva, My wife. Well, I got her like front row
- 1:07tickets to go see the Big 12 because like it was actually
- 1:10reasonable to get. So it was and it was really fun.
- 1:12And when I went to put up a hat trick in the first game.
- 1:15So I'm like, OK, you know, this is this is legit.
- 1:17I get why this is like the one name that I know going into.
- 1:20It no, it's intense. Like they're like, I mean, you
- 1:24Lympics Canada, US is like really, really stuff.
- 1:29Like I love it with Hayley Wickenheiser and Cassie
- 1:32Campbell. Like I remember that like those
- 1:34names growing up and yeah, they're always really good.
- 1:36So that's where Kevin is. He ditched us.
- 1:39He ditched us. It's just your fries and a
- 1:40milkshake today. That's referencing our last
- 1:44episode, The Bullshit by Louisville High, which I still
- 1:47don't know if it's going to stick, but we'll see.
- 1:49Anyway, welcome into Bangor Manager with the Fantasy Hockey
- 1:51Podcast with Jake, Josh and Kevin.
- 1:54That was a heavy duty lollygagging slash.
- 1:56Kevin's not here as we know, just Jake and Josh today.
- 1:59The best duo, as Kevin likes to say so.
- 2:03So close to Drake and Josh, yes. I remember when we first made
- 2:08our group chat for our league, that was like Jake and Josh
- 2:12because you had been speaking like all the time.
- 2:15I was like, let's make a group chat.
- 2:16And then just like Jake and Josh, like Drake and Josh and
- 2:18Kevin was like, I'm Miranda Cosgrove.
- 2:23It all adds up. Funny, he's the Arthurs after
- 2:28all. Yes.
- 2:30So today is gonna be the day that they're gonna throw back to
- 2:33you. And we're also doing our Week 8
- 2:36News and updates. And Kevin's famous the selfless
- 2:39act of still giving us his would you rathers which we have not
- 2:43peaked. Have you peaked?
- 2:44I never peak. I would.
- 2:47I would never. That is the Josh guarantee money
- 2:51back in your day you've you've peaked, but you know wrong.
- 2:54You're a reformed speaker. That's really funny.

- 3:32you are listening, watching us. When you said let us begin
- 3:36follow us before you said all the things, you just follow us.
- 3:38I'm just like picturing like Will Ferrell and Old School
- 3:40being like we're going streaking on the quad, Come follow us
- 3:47guys. We're all going.
- 3:48Everyone's doing it crazy. Old school welfare all there,
- 3:52there's nothing like it. No, there's Unreal.
- 3:54Was he your favorite comedian of the early 2000s?
- 3:58Feel like it's it's got he's got to be definitely like yeah, top,
- 4:02yeah. So you know how they related?
- 4:05Yeah, brilliant. But you can drop a comment
- 4:08listeners of who your favorite comedian was in the.
- 4:11Early. Or how about this?
- 4:12How about favorite Will Ferrell movie?
- 4:15That's even better. Favorite Will Ferrell movie.
- 4:17And if you don't like Will Ferrell, please back up your
- 4:21claims as to why. Yeah, there you go.
- 4:26Very cool. Well, I'm taking LA Kings fans
- 4:30so, so maybe we'll get him on the get get some outreach and
- 4:33get him on the on the pod one day.
- 4:35That'd be that'd be. Awesome.
- 4:37I'd say my top is Talladega Nights, but you know, like
- 4:40actually low key Blades of Glory.
- 4:43Glory so good so. Chaz Michael, we all had to keep
- 4:48podcast got to talk about some skating.
- 4:49But anyways, let's dive in because this was an intense
- 4:52lolly gagging session. So let us begin.
- 4:56Jonathan Tonaton Miller JT Jonathan Talismanic Miller is
- 5:01out with an upper body entry. Will Cooley taking a spot on
- 5:04Power Play 1. As a former GT owner, I'm
- 5:07rejoicing because I hate him now he's on my team but uh, no it
- 5:13definitely is a big loss. Most like for anyone who has
- 5:16some other team. Like he literally put up his
- 5:18first good game of the season. He gets like 2 power play goals
- 5:21and then he's like that's it. You know, packing it in, folks.
- 5:25Actually, it's a it's a real question mark.
- 5:28I think perhaps the move to winger was, you know, a really
- 5:33good catalyst for him and that's probably why he did well.
- 5:36This is just brutal. This is like a cherry on top of
- 5:40a bad season, which sucks if you pick JT first, which you did in
- 5:44a bangers league, probably second round in a points league.
- 5:47It's just been super sad to see everything.
- 5:51One thought the change of scenery was going to help and.
- 5:53Love naming, being named captain and having the great playoff
- 5:55schedule. These are all things I want in
- 5:57my mind when I drafted him in the first round.
- 5:59But yeah. Yeah.
- 6:00It's definitely. Will Cooley Cooley has been
- 6:03awesome. Laugh sucks.
- 6:04I can't believe it. He really has to get traded.
- 6:07I saw on Instagram, I think it was like it was two people going
- 6:13at it just back and forth being like, they should do session
- 6:16call for Lafreniere. And then the other one was like,
- 6:18are you crazy? Like they would never do that,
- 6:19especially so much better. But that would be kind of cool
- 6:22way to spice things up, you know?
- 6:24Yeah, mainly. For the Rangers, cuz if love
- 6:26goes either. Yeah, disaster.
- 6:30Yeah, still no. I mean, I drafted a laugh also.
- 6:32I mean, it was pretty late in our draft, but it was this was
- 6:35supposed to be the year. Like I thought that was holding
- 6:37him back was the coaching and the fact that Gallon refused to
- 6:40put him on power play 1 and then going into the area was we're
- 6:43going to give the coach saying we're going to give laughs shot
- 6:45at power play 1 and then Troche gets injured right off the bat.
- 6:48So the spots wide open for him and he just does absolutely
- 6:51nothing with it to the point where now J's out and it's
- 6:55trocheck and cool you have the spot instead of laugh.
- 6:57So he's just he's cooked. I've 0 interest in having him
- 7:01but about JT it's only day-to-day so no reason to panic
- 7:04just yet other than the awful season he's been having so far.
- 7:07I still think he's a buy low. Like if I hadn't just traded him
- 7:09away I would be trying to buy low on him.
- 7:12But you gotta, you know, don't overpay either.
- 7:16Yeah. I'm going to play Kevin here and
- 7:19ask a few names of would you give them for JT?
- 7:21I'm going to give you only three, OK?
- 7:23Yeah. Would you give and if this is
- 7:27you getting JT in return? Just to clarify, and I'll just
- 7:29clarify it, this is a bangers league with faceoff wins where
- 7:33he has his most value. Let's let's take away the face
- 7:36offs. Just for the Just Bangers
- 7:38league. Yes.
- 7:39Would you give if you have Elias Pettersson for JT Miller?
- 7:44Hilarious. Actually, I like that a lot.
- 7:49OK, no face off wins. So Miller's getting more shots
- 7:53and more hits for sure. Patterson gets more blocks if
- 7:56your league counts that. Yeah, he's good, then yeah he
- 7:59is. Like I like messing all around
- 8:01player and he's been really hot lately and Miller sucked, but I
- 8:05feel like with the playoff schedule and the potential, like
- 8:09I think and also like if you had Peterson until about two weeks
- 8:12ago, you were trying to shoot him into the sun.
- 8:14So I don't hate this. I would take Miller over.
- 8:18So graphic. Sorry, that's just how I feel
- 8:23when I, when I have these guys on my team and I'm like, do
- 8:25something, you plug it with a stick you like, are you still
- 8:29alive? You know, Yeah.
- 8:31No, I I'm with you. I'm gonna go JT there.
- 8:35Cutter Gothier. Yeah, JT.
- 8:37J OK, yeah. So I guess I gotta aim a tad
- 8:41higher than this. We can we can say Tom Wilson,
- 8:48but I think you said you'd rather Wilson over.
- 8:50Jackson at this point, yeah. You're going Wilson.
- 8:52OK, I'm gonna I'm gonna stage at there because I think that I
- 8:56can't imagine it's gonna stay this bad.
- 8:58And if it doesn't feel like a fourth round pick next year,
- 9:01it's just. Crazy.
- 9:02It does feel like just all the pieces are there.
- 9:04There's no reason for him not to just pop off out of nowhere and
- 9:07look as someone just traded him away.
- 9:08I'm praying for his demise, but let's say I do think he's going
- 9:12to pop off at some point. So.
- 9:14So I wouldn't fault you for taking him over overall.
- 9:17Yeah, Alright, let's move on. To the next, yes.
- 9:19Mikko Rantanen, the moose of the Dallas Stars, has been suspended
- 9:23for one game. He put up 39 penalty minutes
- 9:26against me last week. The guy had 18 penalty minutes
- 9:29on the entire season before that.
- 9:30He's not a goon. He puts up 39 films, wins the
- 9:33cat single handedly for my opponent.
- 9:35I'm over it. Anyways, he nothing he did,
- 9:38nothing he did was like actually malicious.
- 9:41It was like, you know, responsible, yes, it injured
- 9:43players, yes, but alas, it wasn't like intentional, which
- 9:46is why this was like an automatic one game suspension
- 9:48you get for being ejected twice, I think in two or three games,
- 9:50something like that. But they didn't make it any more
- 9:52than that in that one game. Tyler Skin is gonna get his
- 9:54power play one spot. That game is happening tonight
- 9:57actually. And yeah, nothing much to say
- 10:00here. It was just, you know, if you
- 10:01have Rantanen, you're happy about the pins if you're in a
- 10:03Pimms league. But it also sucks to lose him
- 10:05for for a game, but at least they have a four-game week.
- 10:06So he's gonna get you 3 games this week?
- 10:09Yeah, not much more to say. The fantasy implications here
- 10:13are like if if you know if this makes.
- 10:15Sense for a game. Yeah, pretty much.
- 10:18I mean, that's not, that's not happening with ranting.
- 10:20And again, if there's any way you can capitalize on this value
- 10:25being like, look, he's a goon now.
- 10:26Look at what just happened. You know, like, I guess.
- 10:28That's an opportunity to what I like is you wait a bit, like
- 10:33maybe not too long, but you wait until these goon games kind of
- 10:37sink down in this game log. And then people like, I mean, I
- 10:39usually just look at season averages, right?
- 10:41And you look at his average and you're like, whoa, like he
- 10:43averages like 2 Pimms a game. That's sick, you know, in a
- 10:45Pimms league. And then if people don't realize
- 10:47that it's just too big chunks of like, you know, crazy like
- 10:50outliers, then you can add that to his value and it definitely
- 10:53it also brings us like positional value or his like
- 10:55overall Yahoo rank higher if really counts that.
- 10:57So some fun stuff you can do there.
- 10:59But yeah, not much else to say about that.
- 11:02Jason Zucker returned to the lineup and took back his spot on
- 11:05power play 1, bumping off Alex Tuck.
- 11:07Jakey grabbed him over me. I got outbid.
- 11:09So that was a solid pickup. He's one of those guys who just
- 11:13rounds out your roster, right? He's he's like power play one
- 11:15like pretty much a staple on that team.
- 11:17No matter who comes and goes, as long as he's healthy, he's got
- 11:19that power play one. He'll probably get bumped down
- 11:20to line 3. Right now he's line 2, but you
- 11:23have him that power play exposure and the and the shots
- 11:25and hits. Yeah, I, I had an interesting
- 11:30thing. So we do free agency budget fab
- 11:33some call it in our league everyone calls with that.
- 11:35I just. Want to clarify.
- 11:37And so we have 100 fab to start the year and then you just
- 11:42there's continuous rolling waivers and if your league
- 11:45doesn't do that, it's a very common thing in football, but in
- 11:47hockey it's more rare. Anyway, all this to say, it's
- 11:50really cool. It's a great system and we love
- 11:52it. So I had one fab on him and then
- 11:55I was like, you know what? No, like he's gonna someones
- 11:57gonna bid on him. I put 6 and then I saw Daniela
- 12:00Europe's game. Just I was so high like when
- 12:03walls they got the shutout on Sunday versus The Jets.
- 12:06And I was like, whatever, you know what, I'm just gonna put it
- 12:09down. I wouldn't mind if I get you
- 12:10off. So I'll just put $1.00 on him.
- 12:11And I couldn't believe I got him.
- 12:13Like I thought he was going to go for three or four.
- 12:15Because really, Zucker has been a reliable fantasy asset for for
- 12:19over a year now. And the Sabers are not good.
- 12:22But this is a an example, a clear example, and we've seen
- 12:25this before of veteran guy, a journeyman in his career who's
- 12:30succeeding on a bad team, right? So I still think that if he does
- 12:34get traded, because Buffalo is still kind of a disaster area
- 12:38that his value is going to go down.
- 12:40This is the best team for him to succeed.
- 12:42But while he's on the Saber is like he's nearing a double
- 12:44double and his power play points are awesome.
- 12:47So it's really great to have that exposure.
- 12:50And even though it's not a good team, the Sabers do have talent.
- 12:53Like you can't score nine goals in a game if you're garbage all
- 12:59around you. They'll just be inconsistent and
- 13:00all over the place. But he's a small bright spot of
- 13:03this offence, so yeah, if he's on your waivers.
- 13:05Another small bright spot of this offence because he is a
- 13:09small person. Zach Benson returns to action
- 13:12and bumped Josh done off power play 1.
- 13:15So there's a lot of moving pieces with Buffalo.
- 13:17Also, Josh Norris has been skating and he should be back
- 13:20within the week. So I'm really curious to see how
- 13:23that powerfully one shakes out. To me, the steer locks are
- 13:26obviously Thompson and Darlene. That's no question.
- 13:29I actually think the next step of lock is Zucker.
- 13:31They really like him on that power play.
- 13:33Then I'd be shocked if Norris doesn't get a spot because they
- 13:37got him to be there one C and then that leaves Benson and done
- 13:41as battling it out. From what I'm seeing, it's going
- 13:43to be done over Benson, but I think that that's going to be
- 13:46easily flippable if they don't start off hot.
- 13:48So it'll be an interesting situation to follow, especially
- 13:51because Benson Norris and Done and Zucker are all like what,
- 13:56under 20% owned something like that.
- 13:57So it's definitely, uh, there's, there's value to be had here.
- 14:01So keep an eye out and we'll update you guys.
- 14:04Absolutely. And what I like in this with
- 14:08Benson is that first of all, he was drafted to be a great player
- 14:12and he's all of his production, literally all of his points this
- 14:16year, 9 points and nine games, they're all assists.
- 14:20So that's pretty good. And young players tend to kind
- 14:24of not be reliable. Shelton goal guys, he's missed
- 14:29some time this year, but his his averages are are skewed because
- 14:33you know, he if you look at it, he's still under two shots a
- 14:37game. I would expect that to be like
- 14:39more like 2.12 point 2. And right now he's at 1.89.
- 14:42So if that does have like a decent uptick for the averages
- 14:45and he's still averaging near a point per game primarily assists
- 14:50like this gives a guy who should be way more than 12% owned.
- 14:53Yeah, so. So yeah, Buffalo, when there's a
- 14:56team that kinda has nothing to lose and just wanna you wanna
- 14:59develop their young players like these guys are gonna produce,
- 15:02it's gonna be it's gonna be sporadic, but.
- 15:05Yeah, yeah, alright. Staying within division, Elias
- 15:10Lindholm of the Boston Bruins returned from injury and bumped
- 15:13Matej Blumel off power play 1. Can't believe that I really
- 15:17thought Mataji had a lock there. I just, I had to, I had to add
- 15:27that I saw you on PowerPoint one for like a hot SEC and then came
- 15:31back and I'm like finally an excuse to mention Mitesh.
- 15:34Yeah, now he's he's he's not even like, I think he was
- 15:37scratched. Yeah, Tage.
- 15:39He's literally buried arch deep in their lineup right now.
- 15:44Bumped him off P1 and off the team, yeah, but I think he's
- 15:48back in the lineup. Ohm, my God, everyone's laughing
- 15:58at the Yeah, This is why we we need Kevin here to ohm, my God.
- 16:06But yeah, if it wasn't exactly. Ohk OK, cool.
- 16:12But yeah, those who? Don't remember what Elias
- 16:15Lindholm was doing before he got injured.
- 16:17He started off the season crazy hot.
- 16:18He was one of our cell highs. But he's consistently solid at
- 16:23the back. Cats.
- 16:24He'll get you like 1.8 shots, 9 faceoff wins, 1.6 hits, 1.2
- 16:30blocks, something like that. So he kind of like has all
- 16:33those. Also something interesting about
- 16:35his, uh, his averages on the season.
- 16:37I think he's averaging like .62 points per game on the season.
- 16:41Every single point he has been on the power play.
- 16:44Wow, yeah, every single one. It's I saw that.
- 16:47I was like, OK, I mean, there's obviously like room for
- 16:50aggression there, but also like clearly he's a power play 1
- 16:53staple. Currently they have him on line
- 16:552, but it's the line with geeky on it.
- 16:58So that's pretty much line 1, but I wouldn't be surprised if
- 17:02if we see the reunification of Pasta Linterman geeky as a line
- 17:07one, right? I think trying to spread the
- 17:09wealth and have have multiple scoring lines, but it just
- 17:12doesn't seem to be working. So I wouldn't be present to go
- 17:14back to that. So I'll have to be said.
- 17:15I wouldn't expect him to be the same level as those first few
- 17:18games. But like, his averages are
- 17:19pretty, you know pretty much what you'll get.
- 17:21Yeah, and the fact that he wasn't so high doesn't mean
- 17:25that, you know, he's gonna just fall off the face of the Earth.
- 17:28Like this is a guy who's producing his career.
- 17:30I still don't think it's going to be nearly what it was to
- 17:32start. I mean, even from that pace,
- 17:34like before the injury, things went way downhill.
- 17:37But 100%? You know, in a non faceoffs
- 17:40league I'm just like really, I don't really believe in it too
- 17:43much, but in a face off win league he should be rostered if
- 17:47it's like 12. 14 specifically if you have face off win hits and
- 17:50blocks, there's just not many players who can do all three of
- 17:54those and also be on power play one like it's very few.
- 17:58Like I'm looking at like, you know, we talked about Elias
- 18:00Pettersson, he's one who does that, you know, used to be back
- 18:02in the debunk Jenner RIP. But you know, like there's very
- 18:05few players who can do that. So there's value.
- 18:07Like even if he's putting up, you know, barely any points, he
- 18:09gets you like if that powerfully production drops down like .2
- 18:12and that's all the points he's getting you, right?
- 18:13So .2 power play points like almost two shots.
- 18:16Like I said with all the back cats, like someone happy on your
- 18:18roster, just don't go paying Kevin's house for it, you know?
- 18:23That's it, all right. OK on to another one of our cell
- 18:27highs from a previous week. Ryan Nugent Hopkins should be
- 18:29back this week and we'll bump Adam Henrique off power play
- 18:31one. I'm excited to see what happens
- 18:33when news comes back Hyman healthy.
- 18:36They can reunite the gang of that original power play 1 unit
- 18:39and I'm hoping that they start popping off because I have
- 18:42McDavid and dry Seidel in our league.
- 18:44Don't ask me how come to the Discord and I'll explain.
- 18:47But yeah, so as hot should be, it should be fun.
- 18:51I still think if Nuge comes back and he starts popping off that
- 18:54he's a cell high like he was your cell hijacking a few weeks
- 18:56ago. And I think, I think if you can
- 18:58get value for him at any moment, then you take it.
- 19:01Yeah, I I'm kind of confused as to why Roslovic isn't still on
- 19:05the 1st power play. Yeah, to be honest, because he's
- 19:07been performing super, super well.
- 19:09Yeah. I wouldn't be surprised if that
- 19:11does change. Like I think it's like as of
- 19:14even as of the last game played at the time of this recording,
- 19:17Roslovic was on PB 1, I believe, and perhaps it shifted.
- 19:22But anyway, that situation is fluid.
- 19:25They should have the five together but they also haven't
- 19:30been doing like normal Oilers things this year.
- 19:32I mean I think a big problem is their goal tending.
- 19:34I dropped Stuart Skinner, good riddance.
- 19:37But at the end of the day Roslovic to me is still and you
- 19:42said he loses all value when news is back and hymens back.
- 19:45I still wouldn't drop if it's in a deep enough league.
- 19:48Like I wouldn't preemptively drop.
- 19:51That's it. I like to see what happens.
- 19:52You know, you don't want to like you know, it's like you don't
- 19:55preemptively drop. Look, keep an eye out, but I
- 19:57wouldn't be surprised if like week after news comes back,
- 19:59you're like, OK, I need to drop him.
- 20:01I'm just felt like, yeah, you don't have to rush to drop him.
- 20:03It's not like having him on your roster is gonna get you negative
- 20:05points or anything. Exactly, and you know, news has
- 20:08been decent in his own right. Actually, like as mentioned, he
- 20:11was all high and that inherently means the players performing
- 20:14well. So what I'll say with this is
- 20:16that the Oilers power play has started slow in previous years.
- 20:19There are really they're the best power play in the league
- 20:23year in and year out pretty much, or at least top three.
- 20:26So owning any piece of this, you're going to expect a lot of
- 20:29offence and I don't think Rossovich is going to like, you
- 20:33know, disrupt that by any means. It's just like how long after
- 20:37news returns do they wait until things really turn back up for
- 20:42them as like a wagon in the. Lead.
- 20:44Yeah, yeah. You know what I mean?
- 20:46So that's, yeah, it's exciting. The whole team should get
- 20:48better. The power play should get
- 20:49better. If you own McGraw like Josh
- 20:51does. Should we just say the trade or
- 20:54what do you think? Yes, I think I already mentioned
- 20:57earlier in the in like a previous episode how I got
- 20:59McDavid for uh for JT and Thompson and then Jake and I
- 21:02made a big trade this week and honestly I'm regretting it
- 21:05already. But you know for the back hatch
- 21:07like the face off and stuff made sense.
- 21:09I gave him Kucherov and Gosta spare and he gave me dry seidel
- 21:12and tippet. I know it seems like really bad
- 21:16for me but at the back I really need the back cats.
- 21:18My team was really solid at points already, so doesn't.
- 21:20Seem bad for you? I feel like it seems very fair.
- 21:23Like even like just like saying it like as a 2 for two.
- 21:26I feel like it's a really good balance.
- 21:28Yeah, I guess it's more just like coach immediately pops off
- 21:30for six points in two games. So and Edmonton hasn't really
- 21:33played since we traded. So like there's I didn't really
- 21:35have much of A comparison, but but no, I'm pretty I'm pretty
- 21:38excited about it. It's one of those stacks we talk
- 21:40about where like I need those guys to do well anyway, so may
- 21:43as well double up on it. But yeah, one of those.
- 21:46One of those games just played 5 minutes which was.
- 21:49Yeah, I got three points. Crazy.
- 21:52Wild. OK.
- 21:53Speaking of the lightning, Victor Hedman was placed on
- 21:57LTIR. Darren Raddysh will have power
- 21:59play one until he returns and they're starting to wake up.
- 22:02You know, I think Kucherov starting to wake up.
- 22:05It's kind of crazy actually that how unreal, like at even
- 22:08strength, right? They finally put they put Cooch
- 22:11Sorelli Hagel together and Cook and Hagel have been just insane.
- 22:15And they're like, you know how amazing these two guys are
- 22:17together. Let's separate them on the power
- 22:18play. It's so honestly mind boggling.
- 22:23So Josh has, I mean, your stack is like as good as it gets mixed
- 22:28drive, but like Loki the couch. Enough has been popping off.
- 22:34Yeah. I mean, Hagel also had like 2
- 22:37back-to-back 3 point games. It's ridiculous.
- 22:39So I will say that. No, sorry, 4 point game and then
- 22:43a three-point game. Put some respect on his.
- 22:46Name and one of them was a shorthanded points.
- 22:48So Hagel's a monster, but to me the the big beneficiary here is
- 22:52is radish and as much as I would love to see Hagel and power play
- 22:561 and there's no good reason that he's not there.
- 22:58It's just like this has gone on for too long that I have 0.
- 23:03It's just the sample size is is there and like I'll bring in the
- 23:06next point. Brayden Point is out with an
- 23:07injury and Nick Paul is taking his spot on power Play 1.
- 23:10Like you have both Point and headman out and at various times
- 23:14Kucherov was out. You had pretty much every member
- 23:16of this power Play 1 unit other than dental has been out at some
- 23:19point this year. And Hagel has gotten no more
- 23:22than like one shift. You know, like we we saw him go
- 23:24on and then immediately they were like, yeah, you know, like,
- 23:27yeah. So I think that's just not going
- 23:28to happen. Nick Paul's an interesting
- 23:30pickup. He didn't do much the first
- 23:31game, but on that Barclay, but we've seen him have it before.
- 23:35I wouldn't be surprised if one point comes back.
- 23:37It's um Bjorkstrand who gets bumped off instead of Paul
- 23:40because Paul's been injured all year.
- 23:41He just, he just came back. So definitely Paul and Radish 4
- 23:45game weeks for Tampa. I mean, one of the games already
- 23:47passed, but three more games and it's hard not to like someone
- 23:50who's playing P1 with with Kucherov.
- 23:52Yeah, And you know, it's interesting here because like
- 23:56Hagel's kind of a screaming sell high because this production is
- 23:59obviously unsustainable. But when he's back point, I
- 24:03wouldn't be surprised if they keep Hagel and coach together.
- 24:06And so this is crazy, Yeah. I think that like that line I
- 24:10don't see them breaking it up. Honestly I think points been so
- 24:14bad this year and I still think he's a below but I think he
- 24:17might be aligned to power play 1 instead of line one power play
- 24:19when he returns. Absolutely.
- 24:21And I mean just just goes more to the point that the Tampa Bay
- 24:25Lightning or an absolute wagon this year.
- 24:27Yeah, you can lose, essentially lose your point per game like #1
- 24:31centre. And they're like, OK, yeah.
- 24:33And your number one defenseman? Yeah, seriously.
- 24:37So LTIR, does that mean he's missing the season had?
- 24:40Been No, no, he's he's eligible to come back as soon as December
- 24:445th. I'm pretty sure so, but the
- 24:46coach said he's a couple weeks away so take that as like 2 to 3
- 24:50weeks would be my estimate. Yeah.
- 24:52Does this make you wanna trade for Headman right now?
- 24:55I'm I sent I mean all my offers are getting rejected.
- 24:58He just happens to be one of the many teams in our league that
- 25:00refuses to make trades. But yeah, I know I'm shooting
- 25:03headman offers, especially because he lost tar play 1
- 25:06before getting injured. So you can easily like you know,
- 25:09I'm sure the headman owners in a lot of leagues are like candy
- 25:12wrapped. This guy so high he's not even
- 25:13power play one now he's entered for weeks.
- 25:15So this is the best time to buy low on him if you can afford the
- 25:18the IR stash for the next few weeks.
- 25:20I love it. If you can do like something
- 25:22crazy like, I mean, I don't know if you can pull this off, you
- 25:25can pull off like a gossip spare plus for Hedman, then like Jake,
- 25:29you can't because I know in our league the guys not gonna do it.
- 25:31But I'm saying to our viewers out there, if anyone could try
- 25:34something like that. Yeah, I'm trying to think of
- 25:36other defensemen that I would like, love to flip for Hedman
- 25:38who are doing hot right now. My worry though is that when
- 25:43Hedman comes back like gratis just keeps it all because radish
- 25:46is doing so well. But this does happen and it's
- 25:48annoying. And look, if the team's winning
- 25:51with radish there, even though it has nothing to do with
- 25:53radish, it's almost like it's like a good luck charm.
- 25:56Yeah, no, I think what it's gonna be is that I don't think
- 26:01there's any chance radish just holds it all season.
- 26:03I think it's gonna be mostly Headman with some stretches of
- 26:06radish and, you know, Headman with A chance of radish.
- 26:10But yeah. But I think, I think what I read
- 26:15somewhere that like Hedman just he takes on so many minutes that
- 26:19I think it's just like for load management purposes, they're
- 26:22like, OK, let's let's ease his like a time for a bit and put
- 26:25radish on the power play because the power play is so good.
- 26:27They don't necessarily need Headman, even though he's
- 26:29clearly the best man for the job.
- 26:30But I'm still not worried about trading for him.
- 26:32I would definitely take him. Hiking.
- 26:35Yeah, exactly. Keep it more powerful anyway.
- 26:38Yeah, go for it. Speaking of defensemen, who are
- 26:42hot names, Roman Yosi and just hot in general returns to the
- 26:46lineup and took back his spot on power play 1.
- 26:51Interestingly, Nashville decided to consolidate back to their
- 26:53normal power play one with his returns.
- 26:55They were doing some nonsense while he was gone, having a
- 26:58split power play, and now that he's back, they seem to turned
- 27:01it back into like what you would expect.
- 27:02You've got Yoshi, you've got Forsberg, you've got Marsha, so
- 27:05Stamkos and O'Reilly. So nothing surprising there.
- 27:09Honestly. I still would not be surprised
- 27:12if you'll see misses more time between now and the rest of the
- 27:15season. We said this in the offseason.
- 27:16I know his injury had nothing to do with his injury last year.
- 27:19There's just, I don't know, I just get that feeling and we
- 27:22were right so far. I still think that I'm not
- 27:24particularly trying to buy him. Me neither.
- 27:27It's just that when he does play, he's gonna be good.
- 27:30Yeah, like he's been really good.
- 27:32Since returning actually still Romanoski, he's still Romania,
- 27:35we still love him, but I just doubt the health.
- 27:37Yeah. I guess like where we kind of
- 27:40went wrong is that we thought that he wouldn't even be
- 27:42productive when he does play. Maybe I was, I don't.
- 27:45Know if you were always thought I thought he can be he can be as
- 27:47productive. I just thought he was gonna be a
- 27:49lot of time. Because the whole thing was like
- 27:50his injury, like effects, like what was it like a cat, like
- 27:54bend down or something or like. Federal something tachycardia
- 27:58syndrome. Yeah, it's like, it's like
- 28:00something that like just totally does not fit as a.
- 28:03Professional. Yeah, it's like, so to me, I
- 28:07thought that, OK, that would make it a really rough time for
- 28:11him to be in any way, shape or form like what he was.
- 28:14But he doesn't seem like a shadow of his old self,
- 28:16honestly. Last year .72 points per game.
- 28:18This year .6. The sample size is small because
- 28:21he's he's hurt. So I'm not into it by any means,
- 28:27but because it's gonna just like you need players to be healthy
- 28:30and this is something which carries a lot of injury risk.
- 28:33But when he does play, I mean, if you're the guy holding him
- 28:37and you can't get rid of him, then just make sure you keep an
- 28:40eye on it. Because if depending on what
- 28:43your platform is for fantasy hockey, sometimes they like
- 28:46giving you updates way too close to the game.
- 28:49So. If I'm a Yoshi owner, I'm
- 28:53waiting for a stretch of health like what's coming up right now
- 28:56with his high production like he's been doing since coming
- 28:59back. And then I'm trying to sell
- 29:01because first of all, there's the health concerns, second of
- 29:03all, there's the bad playoff schedule.
- 29:05And he still has the name value of being one of the best
- 29:09defensemen in the league. So you can definitely get a Hall
- 29:12for him when he's on one of his hot streaks and that's what I
- 29:14would try and do. If you have Yoshi, are you
- 29:17trading him for Rasmus Anderson? No, no.
- 29:21I think Anderson's part of our hot topics, so I won't dive into
- 29:25it, but I think that's a clear cell high.
- 29:28OK, so you'd rather keep Yoshi? How about Justin Falk?
- 29:31No, you know, like, OK, so you use the OC for like an actual
- 29:35good name in return like Fox, like a job like like a waiver
- 29:37wire guy, you know, like. Lost one wigger.
- 29:41No, it's different. It's a different architect.
- 29:43But like I think, yeah, I think you're aiming too low.
- 29:45Like, look, I want, I wanna trade, I wanna sell high on
- 29:47Yoshi, but I don't wanna sell low on Yoshi.
- 29:49Yeah, I think, I think Weger has just been so, so bad that that's
- 29:54the one I'm really, I think I may be rather weaker because,
- 29:58you know, he could be better. Than I think he has no chance of
- 30:01power play one with what Anderson's been doing.
- 30:03And so, you know, pure bangers guys like it's easier to pick
- 30:06that up then pick up a guy like you can even higher than that.
- 30:09Fair enough, Fair enough. OK, let's go.
- 30:11OK, this is probably the biggest news actually in the It's got
- 30:14buried because I do the ordering of these pretty weirdly, but
- 30:18Connor Hellebuyck got knee surgery and is out four to six
- 30:22weeks. Eric Comrie will be the starter
- 30:23in his absence. I will say if you're a helbock
- 30:27owner, do not panic sell. Four to six weeks in the grand
- 30:29scheme of a season is not that much.
- 30:31It does suck. And if you're the buck owner, I
- 30:34would have snapped up Eric Comrie because that's my
- 30:36favorite thing to do when you have a injured really good
- 30:39starter is you just grab the backup guy who's filling in for
- 30:41him. And then even though he's not as
- 30:43good, you still have the starter for that team.
- 30:45And the second year guy comes back, you drop him and it's like
- 30:47you never left. So if Comrie got grabbed already
- 30:50and you're the helbock owner, then you know, look at waivers
- 30:52for something else. But don't make any panic moves
- 30:54over such a relatively short injury.
- 30:57Yeah. Do you do you think that this
- 31:00effects like The Jets in any way other than the goalie situation?
- 31:04Do you think it's like now that they're they don't have the best
- 31:06goalie pretty much in the world net like that?
- 31:10They can and I know that's like a controversial topic, but if
- 31:13you do like stats like last few years like he's been absolutely
- 31:16ridiculous. Sure.
- 31:17Yeah, I think he's kind of at least in top three.
- 31:18Let's. Just leave it at that percent.
- 31:20So we don't upset any. Listeners.
- 31:23But at the end of the day, like The Jets are gonna have to score
- 31:25to win now. And yeah.
- 31:28Yeah, I don't know. I feel like you can try and like
- 31:31next level it and be like, oh, they have to score more or like,
- 31:33oh like you know, you got a lot of confidence from your goalie
- 31:35playing well, so maybe they lose confidence because they don't
- 31:37have a goalie back there. But I think that's over thinking
- 31:40it at this point. I think just treat it as a
- 31:42goalie injury and don't try and think about how it might affect
- 31:44the forwards or defensemen. Right now, would you rather
- 31:48Dobesh or Camry on your team? I'd rather Dobesh.
- 31:53I don't like thinking short term.
- 31:54I like, you know, Dobesh has the shot at actually, you know,
- 31:57being a long term hold, whereas comedy scenes didn't drop one
- 31:59hell about comes back. Alright, so that's another thing
- 32:02if you're not a hunter, yeah, if you're not a Illibuck owner and
- 32:06you saw this happen. I mean, at this point we're
- 32:08saying it a few days after it happened, so comma's already
- 32:10been snapped up probably. But like I'm not rushing at him.
- 32:13Like if you needed the goalie help for the next like 4 to six
- 32:15weeks year 0G team and you're kind of jumping from goalie
- 32:17situation to goalie situation, then yeah, go ahead.
- 32:19But if you have two solid starters or like 3 or however
- 32:22many you like to hold, yeah, you're not missing out on
- 32:24anything. If Connor help goes out for the
- 32:26season, that's a whole different story.
- 32:27Or even for like a longer than this before to six weeks.
- 32:30People are overreacting, I think.
- 32:32Yeah, comma is not gonna get you anything near what.
- 32:35Hell yeah. It's also not like he's sliding
- 32:36in and putting in putting up hella buck numbers, right.
- 32:38So it's like, yeah, it's not like The Jets are necessarily
- 32:40the number one team in the league last year.
- 32:42And it's not like that wasn't a big part because of Helbock.
- 32:45So so yeah, I wouldn't overreact to that one.
- 32:48Alright, next we've got Kirill Marchenko.
- 32:50The best krill in the league is a day-to-day.
- 32:53He tweaked muscle in practice. Kent Johnson takes the spot on
- 32:56power play 1. I don't think this is a long
- 32:59term entry. I wouldn't panic or anything
- 33:00like that. And I also don't have much
- 33:02interest in KJ this year. He just in the past he does 0
- 33:06back cat. So it's all about the points and
- 33:07the points just haven't been there this year and this is just
- 33:09a short term thing. Again, if Marchenko was out for
- 33:11longer then maybe it's not even like Columbus is that great of a
- 33:14team. So not much to say on this one,
- 33:16but thought it was worth mentioning.
- 33:18Yeah, the whole team is just gonna Simply put out much less
- 33:22offence. And I'm not interested in
- 33:24Johnson at all. And with you there has been
- 33:26suspicious how disappointing it's been.
- 33:28Yeah. So yeah.
- 33:29Yeah. Crazy.
- 33:31It's crazy. And lastly, we've got Pee Odor.
- 33:35Kochetkov is out with an injury. Freddie Anderson and Brandon
- 33:39Bussey are going to split the net until he returns.
- 33:42This whole 3 goalie situation is just a nightmare.
- 33:45Keshav leaving, you know it's still a split and then he comes
- 33:47back. It's still going to be 3
- 33:48goalies. I think they're just proving
- 33:50This is why they have three goals is because they're two
- 33:52starters are the most injury prone guys, like ever.
- 33:54So yeah, it makes sense. You have a third guy who's like
- 33:57slightly less good but can stay healthy so you don't have to
- 34:00scramble every time one of them has a recurring injury.
- 34:02So personally, I'm really happy I avoided all these guys this
- 34:05year and Pacheco has been playing well when he's here.
- 34:09But it's just, I feel like this isn't, this is going to be an on
- 34:12and off thing all season, I feel like.
- 34:14Yeah, I'm with you there. And it's funny because I M like
- 34:20this, this whole team, like the Carolina Hurricanes are just an
- 34:23absolute disaster area for fantasy hockey.
- 34:26Yeah, like year in and year out everywhere.
- 34:30Like even their best defenseman, who's one of the best defensive
- 34:33defensemen in the league, like, isn't good for fantasy.
- 34:35Jacob Slavens, like, not good for fantasy, Right.
- 34:38So it's just everything about it is just like such a stay away
- 34:43zone. Except I have four of them on my
- 34:45team now because they're first of all, like the guys have been
- 34:50decent and like they're they score the third best goals for
- 34:54team in the NHL and the worst power play.
- 34:56It's like it's just everything about it.
- 34:58It's just anti fantasy hockey. Rod hates fantasy hockey.
- 35:03He's like, how can I win games while also frustrating every
- 35:06fantasy manager who has any players on my team and he does a
- 35:10great job. The best job and what I will say
- 35:14is that that Kochetkov to me is is I'd much rather have and then
- 35:20Anderson still. Oh, for sure.
- 35:22I know that because he's better. He's been really good when
- 35:25healthy as you mentioned, but also I Anderson gets hurt every
- 35:30year except for this year apparently so.
- 35:32No, I mean Anderson, you know Anderson gets hurt every year,
- 35:35but so does Chekov. That's the thing.
- 35:36I feel like it gets overshadowed by how injury prone Anderson is.
- 35:39But Geckos also been super injury prone.
- 35:41So maybe the move has picked up Brandon Bussey and just wait for
- 35:43the other two guys to just be out season and then you have
- 35:46Carolina starter. Literally though, literally.
- 35:49It's just headaches all over though and.
- 35:51Yeah. Yeah, I don't even know.
- 35:53Like you want Aho special called I guess has turned things
- 35:56around. Like I'm happy with ghosts.
- 35:59The two guys that I'm like Jarvis especially happy to have
- 36:01are like Idaho and Jarvis. Yeah, Ghost is a solid for
- 36:04points, but like he gets no back cats and then yeah, switch is on
- 36:09a hot streak. But again, I have zero trust in
- 36:11RAW to not just demote him at any moment like line.
- 36:13Three, I hear you. OK, so now we have a super duper
- 36:20fun, very spicy segment coming up.
- 36:25Drum roll please. OK, cool, because the drum roll
- 36:32effect didn't work here. This is close.
- 36:38Nice. Kind of not really.
- 36:40Anyways, yeah, Kevin's famous Would you rather section where
- 36:45we list off two players and we discussed who would you rather
- 36:49have on your team for the rest of the season.
- 36:53The rest of your very curious I have not looked yet.
- 36:56Get your get your compare tool. Out and getting my my Yahoo app
- 37:00out. Yahoo app out.
- 37:02So yeah, I'm curious to see what he drew up this week.
- 37:08And I'm, I also, I wish we we knew what his take was on it to
- 37:15have a tiebreaker. I can usually give his take, I
- 37:17feel like, or often in the same spot.
- 37:20And so even when I disagree with him, I feel like I know what
- 37:23he's going to say. OK, OK.
- 37:25Sounds good. So coming in for the left wing
- 37:29position we have of the Nashville Predators, Filip
- 37:32Forsberg versus the New Jersey Devils Esper Brat.
- 37:37This is such a classic. Classic Kevin.
- 37:39Thing but he's. Just trying to mind game Jakey
- 37:41into trading him a forsberg for Brat but.
- 37:45AF and and I will say that to me, it's still Forsberg here.
- 37:53I and I understand where he's coming from, but Forsberg just
- 37:58has the Bangor cap potential that is way beyond what Brad can
- 38:01do. And I don't think the point
- 38:03discrepancy is going to be like, is it worst case?
- 38:05Worst case, it's gonna be what, .1?
- 38:09Like last season, the discrepancy was .16.
- 38:13I could see it being like .2. Like I see like Brad ending at
- 38:161.1 and 4 Spring ending at like .9.
- 38:19Fair, fair. Enough, but like for what you're
- 38:21getting and then power play points is also in Bradt favor.
- 38:24That can be a big one actually. Like I see bracketing like .35
- 38:27and four, we're getting like .15.
- 38:28So let's say that extra .2 that Brad's getting is that power
- 38:31play production. But then you go to like the
- 38:33shots and hits and Forsberg is gonna get you an extra shot and
- 38:36an extra like 1.2 hits. So it's close for sure.
- 38:40It's different archetype of player.
- 38:42I think that and also Brad has the edge of having a better
- 38:45playoff schedule. I still I still think I'm going
- 38:47with Forsberg, but I think that's it depends what your team
- 38:50needs. I think it's more rare to find a
- 38:52player with Forsberg's archetype who can get you the points in
- 38:55power play points as long as well as elite shots and hits.
- 38:59But Brett is elite at what he does and GBP it NHL so.
- 39:05Yeah, I'm gonna go. Yeah, Nashville.
- 39:09Nashville's power play is worse this year than last year.
- 39:12And I will say that if you look at the .16 points discrepancy
- 39:15that comes with Forsberg, haven't had a brutal start last
- 39:18year, Yeah, like it was way worse than it is this year.
- 39:21Like this year's not bad. Last year was an absolute
- 39:24catastrophe. And then he became the hottest
- 39:25player in the NHL. Owning him over that stretch was
- 39:30wonderful. It was he.
- 39:32Was so kept you coming back right because I was like I was
- 39:35surprised you drafted him again this year after how brutal his
- 39:37start was last year. But then I'm like, oh, but most
- 39:39fresh in his mind was that second-half where he was
- 39:41absolutely unreal. So so it makes sense, but.
- 39:44Yeah, no. So I picked him in the second
- 39:46round. I mean, it probably going back
- 39:48in hindsight, I could have done things differently.
- 39:50Like it's not necessarily that I would do it again, but I still
- 39:52think he's like a mid to late second round pick.
- 39:55Yeah, so. Right now, he's not gonna keep.
- 39:58Right now, he's averaging .73 points per game on the season.
- 40:011.14 power play points. Remember also that Yoshi has
- 40:04been out like in the as I was saying that you should be like
- 40:06in and out of the line of best of the year.
- 40:07But fact is healthy now and you see was out for awhile and they
- 40:10were doing a whole mess of power play stuff.
- 40:11The coach, I don't know, he had no idea what to do without you
- 40:13see there they were splitting up the power play and all that.
- 40:16So there's a very clear indicator as to why that should
- 40:19turn around and he did. He literally did this last year.
- 40:21We started off terribly and then turned it around.
- 40:23So for me, my main, my main concern is actually the playoff
- 40:26schedule. But even that is not it's not
- 40:28the end of the world. So I'm still going to give the
- 40:31edge to forest. I think if you have brat, you
- 40:32can get force work plus and a lot of leaks and I think that's
- 40:35a. Really.
- 40:36Really. I think, I think Brad has more
- 40:38perceived value right now. Yeah, I think so.
- 40:40Wow, OK, yeah, to me, I guess. Look, I I have him on my team
- 40:46and I know what he can do. So if you can do that, if you're
- 40:49the brat owner, I would send it for Forsberg.
- 40:52And what would the plus be like Perfetti?
- 40:55Yeah, something like that, like a guy who's like on power play
- 40:57like has a lock on power play one, but hasn't necessarily been
- 40:59doing that much with it just yeah, but like you're not
- 41:01worried about the deployment. Like, yeah, I like that a lot.
- 41:03Would be elated with that. I'd be super happy.
- 41:06So Kevin chooses Brat Forsberg 2 to one.
- 41:09Yeah, exactly. OK, next we have the Vegas
- 41:13Golden Knights. Mitch Marner versus the Buffalo
- 41:17Sabres. Tage Thompson.
- 41:19Major stuff. Super spicy.
- 41:22So much alliteration. Wow.
- 41:25Yeah, these are both alliteration kings of their
- 41:28respective teams. Yes, and honestly, look, I don't
- 41:33want to be too Bilo sell high and fall into, you know how
- 41:36players have been doing this year, but I'm going with sage
- 41:39and I don't know about you, but for me, Marner is such a
- 41:42one-dimensional player. I mean this is similar to the
- 41:44last one, right where, but I feel like it's an even more
- 41:47extreme because at least Brad still like shoots and hits.
- 41:48You know, it's just that force brings a lot more elite at it
- 41:51for here. Tage is like the best one of the
- 41:53best shooters in the league and he's hitting this year and then
- 41:56Martin does literal zeros at Backus.
- 41:58So he's his whole thing is that he's supposed to be a lead at
- 42:02points and so far hasn't been. And there's also like big, you
- 42:06know, factors, right? He changed teams.
- 42:07He's not on a line with Michael because they decide to split
- 42:09them up. He'll he'll move back and forth
- 42:12anyways. I think that there's brighter
- 42:13days ahead for Mariner, but I think Tage is stealing is just
- 42:15so much higher or floor. I don't know the way you would
- 42:18look at it, but he's got the shots and hits there.
- 42:20And then he's also gonna like, he's not gonna get as many
- 42:22points as Martin, but I think it's gonna be a lot closer than
- 42:24people thought going into this season.
- 42:27I would say that this one to me, OK, so I think that I think that
- 42:36Marner is going to turn things around.
- 42:38And while I don't believe that the Vegas Golden Knights are
- 42:44gonna be like like that, he's gonna be this inconsistent, like
- 42:47he's gonna get the points. But to me, like the 1.26, the
- 42:50.95 points per game last year for both of them, that's like
- 42:53gonna be way more narrow. And Mitch Marner needs to have
- 42:59about like .2 more points per game.
- 43:01Last year was closer to .3 and I don't think that's gonna happen.
- 43:05So to me, I'm gonna go tage here as well, but but I I I do think
- 43:15Marner is like kind of a buy low.
- 43:17No, I I fully agree. I mean also keep in mind if he
- 43:20ever comes in back, Mark stone was killing it when he was
- 43:24healthy and making that entire the entire power play unit was
- 43:26just absurd. So that's something to keep an
- 43:29eye out on for sure. There's been no news about him.
- 43:31He I wouldn't be surprised if he comes back, you know, in a few
- 43:34weeks and then immediately gets injured again and is out for the
- 43:36season. This guy made a glass but so I
- 43:39wouldn't base all your hopes on him.
- 43:41But the fact is when he does come back, he makes that team so
- 43:43much better and Martin will definitely benefit from it.
- 43:46So that's something to keep in mind.
- 43:48But I just think the points difference isn't going to be big
- 43:50enough to justify the backhands difference.
- 43:53Yeah, yeah. OK.
- 43:55This one I have no idea who Kevin would use.
- 43:58I feel like he's more of a tage guy, but uh, I think he also
- 44:01definitely believes in Martinez Abilo so I'm not sure I'm gonna
- 44:04go teach. For him, alright, that's three.
- 44:07For Tage, yeah, the defenseman. Oh, OK, this is big.
- 44:14This is big. Both on the same team.
- 44:17No. I feel like I know what this is.
- 44:19Can I guess? I haven't looked yet.
- 44:21Is it going to be weaker versus Anderson?
- 44:23Yes, wow. Kenzie Weiger versus Rasmus
- 44:27Andersson. You, you guys really finish each
- 44:30other sandwiches on that one. Yeah, that is crazy.
- 44:33Wow, that's, that's extremely spicy.
- 44:38OK, this one to me, I, I'm, I'm like actively trying to buy
- 44:44Wigger from the owner and I and I don't even think I'm like, I'm
- 44:48trying to be super fair knowing that he's underperforming.
- 44:51But my objective analysis here is that Wigger is going to be
- 44:58better than he's been. He's had .17 points on the
- 45:02season. That's going to be more like
- 45:03.35. And with the back hats, it's
- 45:06nice. It's nice.
- 45:08It's unfortunately not, you know, fourth or fifth round pick
- 45:11like some of you may have made in your in your leagues, because
- 45:13last year he was a monster. Yeah.
- 45:15But what I'm thinking here, that's kind of interesting is
- 45:18that before the season, Backland had that quote about Rasmus
- 45:21Anderson getting traded. Like that's the team captain
- 45:25saying that, you know what I mean?
- 45:27And they're bad. And I feel like he's trying
- 45:29super hard because he wants to like be like, hey, guys, pick
- 45:33me, You know what I mean? Like, so if he leaves and then
- 45:36weigher gets a power play one, what's gonna happen is that I
- 45:39don't think we're Anderson's gonna be a lock on whichever
- 45:41team he goes to. He's going to go to a good team
- 45:43because that's usually what happens is that good players on
- 45:45bad teams go to good teams. Weird comes back.
- 45:49And then I'd rather from here to the end of the season.
- 45:53McKenzie bigger over Rasmus Anderson, but let's just pretend
- 45:57status quo things stay that they are as they are.
- 46:00That gap to me is way, way smaller than it is.
- 46:03And I'm going to go with Uyghur still because it's the tear that
- 46:10Anderson on is on right now. It's crazy.
- 46:13It's like not sustainable, whereas what we're doing is like
- 46:16there's nowhere to go but up. Yeah.
- 46:18So. Yeah, so.
- 46:20Yeah, I'm not sure. Like I think Anderson is the
- 46:23biggest sell high ever, so let me preface with that.
- 46:27But I don't know how much of A Wigger believer I am this year
- 46:31because even if Anderson gets traded and weaker gets back on
- 46:35power play 1, he wasn't doing anything with it to start the
- 46:38year for like a pretty big sample size.
- 46:40So I don't really believe in weaker points going up.
- 46:43I think you're kind of, I mean, not they're going to stay this
- 46:46low, but like I see his ceiling for points like .3 at this
- 46:49point. I don't see him going like
- 46:51higher than that. And I don't think it's gonna be
- 46:53much power play points. So it's really just a pure
- 46:55bangers guy and he's a lead at that, no question.
- 46:57But then you look at Anderson and like Anderson shoots more
- 47:00than weaker does. He gets pretty much the same
- 47:02blocks. The only difference is like a
- 47:04massive difference in hits obviously.
- 47:05And we will get you a few some more Pimms, but even that's not
- 47:08that crazy. Anderson gets Pimms.
- 47:10So again, as it stands right now, I don't see Anderson losing
- 47:13power play 1 to weaker. So I would go with Anderson and
- 47:16then I agree that he's inevitably getting traded.
- 47:18And I just feel like whoever trades for him, there's a chance
- 47:21that he can be there powerfully on defenseman.
- 47:23I don't know this that this situation hasn't shaped itself
- 47:26fully yet with like what's going on in the NHL.
- 47:28You know, like what happens if Tampa, you know, what happens if
- 47:31headwinds out for longer than we thought or like they just decide
- 47:34Hedman is not the guy we want on power play 1.
- 47:35You know, he's going to beat Darren Raddysh.
- 47:37You know, like, that's just off the top of my head.
- 47:39So I feel like, yeah, I mean, yeah.
- 47:42So there's like, I feel like if a team is acquiring Anderson,
- 47:46it's either to make him their power play 1 defenseman or like
- 47:49just to bolster their depth, just the two options.
- 47:51But I just think that Anderson actually has more upside than we
- 47:55do right now. And it just kind of sucks
- 47:57because I still believe Anderson is such a cell high.
- 47:59I don't think he's gonna be doing anywhere near this, but I
- 48:02think it's more of how low I am on weaker at this point.
- 48:04OK, OK, so the difference has been split it.
- 48:08Seems good job, Kevin. You're going, I understand
- 48:10you're. Going and I feel like Kevin's
- 48:12gonna go weaker. There you go, I Anderson.
- 48:16Oh, really? OK, yeah.
- 48:17Wow. He got the split, the double
- 48:19split. Yeah, that was crazy.
- 48:22That's so funny to me. It's it's more just Anderson.
- 48:27He's super like big on the lack of sustainability being a
- 48:32factor. So I like, it's super obvious to
- 48:35me, but yeah, I I that that's really spicy, especially they're
- 48:40on the same team. I love it.
- 48:42Yeah, this next one's really good too.
- 48:44I had to peek because I had to read it.
- 48:45Just saying. Yeah, following packages all the
- 48:49ways. This is like such a same
- 48:53archetype, but there's a twist and I know my answer already.
- 48:56Florida Panthers Antonio Lindell versus the Washington Capitals
- 49:01Line 1 Centre Dylan Strome. This is an interesting is
- 49:05really, really good, but I I think just looking into it a bit
- 49:13more, the back story is that Lundell has never had the
- 49:17opportunity to thrive with Barkov there.
- 49:20Barkov is one of the best pure centres like IRL and also
- 49:23amazing for fantasy. He now has this opportunity.
- 49:26He's running away with it there. Shots, faceoffs, hits are super
- 49:30similar except, sorry, shots of faceoffs are similar except
- 49:33Lundell hits now. That's only one per game.
- 49:36It's not that crazy. But yeah, but strong zero.
- 49:39And at that point, I feel like the points are going to be so
- 49:42similar that I crazy to say, but I'm actually gonna go Lindell.
- 49:45Wow, that's crazy. Yeah.
- 49:47And you like to mention Florida's not been super hot.
- 49:51That's the other one thing is that they they've been kind of
- 49:54all over the place and as of late they've been good.
- 49:56Same with Washington, Like it's the same story.
- 49:59It's just that I believe in the path.
- 50:01There's more than I believe in the capitals.
- 50:04That's fair. I think I'm going with Strom on
- 50:06this one. I just think that Strome, his
- 50:09line, one power play, one spot is cemented.
- 50:12Whereas with Lundell, I just don't know what's going to
- 50:15happen when some of their injured guys come back,
- 50:17specifically when Ketchup comes back.
- 50:18I know he's not a centre, but when I got that comes back, it
- 50:21just shuffles up your higher, your entire kind of like top 9
- 50:24or top six at least. So I just think that his
- 50:27deployments not as secure as Strom.
- 50:30And right now even with the line on PowerPoint on deployment,
- 50:33Strome's averaging .13 more points per game than him.
- 50:37So I'm confident Strum's gonna end the season with more points
- 50:40per game. I think power play points right
- 50:42now it's almost dead even. I think Trump's gonna end up
- 50:45with more shots is negligible difference, face off wins,
- 50:49negligible negligible difference and then hits.
- 50:52Lindell has the edge, so for that reason I'm going with some.
- 50:57OK. It's it's a great, this is a
- 51:00great one. Yeah, this is like another
- 51:02really, really good one. And I agree with like a lot of
- 51:05what you said, by the way, like it makes sense to me.
- 51:07The caveat for me is that I think is just going to make him
- 51:12better. Like I think the whole team's
- 51:14gonna be better when the truck comes back.
- 51:16If it was a centre, by the way, there's a whole different.
- 51:18Call for sure, yeah. But like who gets shuffled here
- 51:23like I think it was? The power play one has been so
- 51:27like mixed up all year that I just not sure if I feel like
- 51:32Lundell's cemented the spot. Like in my mind, the obvious
- 51:34ones, you've got Jones, Reinhart, Kuchuk and, um, that's
- 51:40like the point. And Marshawn.
- 51:41Exactly. Yeah.
- 51:42So you have those four, like locked down and it's a fight
- 51:44over that last spot. It's not gonna be happy because
- 51:46they hate him. And Bennett has, you know, like
- 51:50I feel like Glendale has the edge over Bennett, but like,
- 51:52it's just not secure to me. Whereas Stromov 0 doubts in my
- 51:55mind that he's lying on power play on for the rest of the
- 51:57season. Yeah, I just I think, I think
- 52:00it's also like Landau's like lower floor by the way, like I
- 52:04do agree there, but like the expected value based on the fact
- 52:07that he has sure healing that's. Why?
- 52:09Yeah. But also another thing to note
- 52:11is if it's like, confirmed that Barkov's not back for playoffs
- 52:16this year, I wouldn't be surprised if Florida goes out
- 52:18and acquires a centre. Like, what if they get like
- 52:21Nazem Kadri just pulled that off the top of my, you know, head
- 52:24like a, you know, But like what? Now it's what happened.
- 52:27Right, like that just seems the type of thing they would do.
- 52:29I mean, it's tough because of his contract, obviously, so
- 52:31probably not. But that's just an example,
- 52:33right? What if they get a guy to come
- 52:34in centre and that guy can easily take Glendale spot on
- 52:37power play one. Obviously this is like such a,
- 52:39you know, like projection so far into the future and who knows?
- 52:43But just the fact that with Strum I don't have those doubts
- 52:45is what makes me lean with him. Yeah, yeah, it's definitely
- 52:49safer. Much.
- 52:50Yeah, I take some stroma safer. But Lundell, you can you can get
- 52:52the upside, too. That's spicy.
- 52:54I like. It alright, what's the last one?
- 52:56We have, unsurprisingly, the goalies.
- 53:00OK, here we go. Two fellow countrymen.
- 53:02We have Sergei Bobrovsky versus Ilya Sorokin.
- 53:07Wow, wow, wow, wow. That's crazy because Sorokin has
- 53:10been playing out of his mind. I know because I went up against
- 53:13him last week and it was brutal. Yeah, this is uh, so Bob to me
- 53:21when he plays should like have better averages I suppose.
- 53:26Like, I think you agree with me there.
- 53:28Yeah, right now stroking has better ones, but that's pretty
- 53:31close. Sorry.
- 53:33Right now Sorokin has the edge on that, but it's.
- 53:35Close. Is there a better there, a
- 53:37better team? But the Islanders are like not
- 53:40as bad as they were, not even close.
- 53:41They're like they're OK. This.
- 53:43Year, so that's kind of fun. I don't expect it to last.
- 53:47And Florida is going to get better.
- 53:49This the addition of the chalk, like we were saying with
- 53:51Lundell, it's kind of sauce. But like, the team's gonna get
- 53:54better. And when the teams get better,
- 53:55the goal is to get better, so. A bunch of like defensemen
- 53:58injuries like Florida. So it's not just like they have
- 54:01a lot of guys who when they come back, it should bolster the
- 54:03team. Yeah, that being said, I just
- 54:06think the talent's gonna win out here and Sorokin's currently
- 54:09talent wise also top three in the league.
- 54:12He's there with Hella Buck. So I think I'm going to go
- 54:15Sorokin because you're going to get the volume to.
- 54:18Yeah, I'd say my biggest kind of question for my deciding factor
- 54:25is how much are wins valued in your league?
- 54:27Because if wins is just another category that's the same value
- 54:31as like, you know, goals against, average save
- 54:32percentage, saves, all that stuff, then I'd go with Sorokin.
- 54:36But if when a lot of leagues like points leagues especially,
- 54:38they have wins being worth like 3-4 points, something like that,
- 54:41then I'm going with Bob because I think he's going to get a
- 54:43decent amount more wins than Sorokin.
- 54:45Yeah, you know what? I'm gonna points league and I'm
- 54:47actually just gonna check out who's done better so far this
- 54:51year, because to me, I I'd be surprised if it was Sorokin even
- 54:58with the volume, you know, But actually it is Drumroll, please,
- 55:05Which we already realized. It doesn't actually.
- 55:09It is Sorokin. Sorokin's been better.
- 55:11Yeah, season total, not season average.
- 55:14It's still. And I think that that's mainly a
- 55:16function of saves being pretty valuable in this league as
- 55:19opposed to wins. So it's really down to the wire,
- 55:21I guess like the fact that, OK, Kevin killed it today by.
- 55:25The way I. Can't believe we don't have him
- 55:27as a tie breaker. You're going.
- 55:29Crazy. You think I'm going?
- 55:31I'm going, Bob. Yeah.
- 55:32So we've been split like crazy down the middle today and we
- 55:36don't have any tie breaker. This is cruelty.
- 55:39Actually, I know honestly OK though the day he decides to
- 55:43like kill it the most and split it down the middle is when he's
- 55:45not here to like, you know, break the tie breaker.
- 55:48It doesn't get much better than this honestly.
- 55:49Like this is absolutely amazing. So I have, I have 0 conviction
- 55:55in this choice though. Like I'm much more confident in
- 55:57Lundell versus Stroman. Even that one, I'm like, it's
- 56:00pretty up in the air. Yeah, now these are great ones.
- 56:03The fact is, teams don't wanna not do well.
- 56:07We talk all about tanking. Theoretically, no.
- 56:10Actually, though, like even Chicago this year, nobody
- 56:14thought they'd be decent. Like they're doing.
- 56:16They're doing their thing out there.
- 56:18Like, yeah, kind of fun because we don't really know who's going
- 56:22to be, like an absolute horrible team yet.
- 56:26Like a lot of teams that are really bad now, Like, Calgary
- 56:30was close to the playoffs last year, you know what I mean?
- 56:32Chicago was nowhere to be seen, and now they're trying.
- 56:34And yeah, the Islanders, like, I still don't think they're very
- 56:37good, but Schafer is a great player, it seems.
- 56:41Been a resurgence? Yeah, Bo Horvat's been awesome.
- 56:44So, you know, it's not impossible.
- 56:47Also that, like, the team doesn't end up making the
- 56:49playoffs, but they're making a push and Sorokin's gonna play
- 56:52all the time and they're gonna have close games even like this
- 56:56is the best team. I think, if I remember
- 56:59correctly, that Sorokin's ever had in front of him.
- 57:01So. Yeah, I feel like just having
- 57:02Shafer makes it the best team, so and.
- 57:04This is the worst the Panthers have been in front of Bob
- 57:08because of the injury. And so yeah, I'm gonna stick
- 57:11with Sorokin here, but. Yeah, I agree, Kevin.
- 57:14I don't have the strongest conviction on this one either.
- 57:16Yeah, OK. Thank you to everybody for
