- 0:00SPEAKER_01: Good morning and welcome to T-Mode Sports.
- 0:05SPEAKER_01: OneFan Hall Game Podcast number twenty-one.
- 0:13SPEAKER_10: Well, last week was week eight of the college football season.
- 0:24SPEAKER_01: Alabama played Texas AM was able to beat them 31-21 31-20.
- 0:32SPEAKER_01: And of course, the Buffaloes lost to Oklahoma State 57-24.
- 0:41SPEAKER_01: Quick recap of Alabama, Texas AM.
- 0:45SPEAKER_01: You know, this was this was a good game.
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: And it started off with a defensive touchdown for Alabama, and that's, you know, a good, a good way to start the game on a defensive score.
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: You know, you know, set the tone, set the tone on the for the for the offense.
- 1:01SPEAKER_01: You know, the opposing team offense.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: Hey, you know what?
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: This isn't gonna be an easy game.
- 1:04SPEAKER_01: You you give us a chance to get a turnover, we're gonna we're gonna make you pay for it and we're gonna get six points.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: Either we're gonna do it ourselves or our offense is gonna come out on a short field and and score a touchdown.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: And then they were able to get another passing touchdown late in the first quarter.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: You know, and then AM was able to tie it up in late in the first quarter with with a you know a touchdown pass of their own.
- 1:32SPEAKER_01: And then Alabama was able to get late in the third quarter in the first quarter, get a field goal go up ten to seven.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: And then early in the second quarter AM scores a rushing touchdown, they're up fourteen to ten.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: Alabama is able to respond and and after that touchdown and get another touchdown, passing by by themselves to go up seventeen to fourteen.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: AM is able to late in the second quarter, end of the first half to get a touchdown.
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: You know, there was a targeting penalty called.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: And you know, looking at the play, yeah, there were there were quite a bit of of the the rules and and what needed to be known as targeting was targeting, and and that's where that came from.
- 2:19SPEAKER_01: You know, Alabama was able to you know they weren't able to really do anything at the start of the second quarter, you know.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: Or the third quarter, second half, AM goes up twenty to seventeen.
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: And then from then on, pretty much Alabama that was the only score in the third quarter.
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: And pretty much in the fourth quarter, Alabama took over and you know played the played their dominating fourth quarter like they have all season.
- 2:45SPEAKER_01: But again, you know you got lucky you were able to dominate the the the fourth quarter, you were able to get a touchdown, passing touchdown, and then to get another passing touchdown.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: So you go up twenty-four twenty, thirty-one, twenty, and then you know, you're you're able to really play there you know, the the quarterback Marcel Reed for AM was fourteen of twenty-one for 153 yards, one touchdown, two INTs.
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: You know, and and that's tough, you know, to to to have more INTs than passing touchdown isn't isn't necessarily Keenan Russell for Alabama, 19 of 30, 311 yards, three TDs, one touchdown, one interception, you know, three to one a little more on the better side of of that.
- 3:36SPEAKER_01: And you know, then you know, the the evening game with Colorado and and Oklahoma State.
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: You know, the first quarter was, you know, was great for Colorado.
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: Fourteen, you know, up fourteen to seven, you know.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: Oklahoma gets, you know gets the ball first.
- 3:54SPEAKER_01: Three plays they score.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: Colorado was able to make a nice long drive after allowing a three-play drive and and get a score themselves, get the ball back pretty quickly late in the third quarter in the first quarter, you know, get get another touchdown pass and and go up fourteen to seven, you know, and then early in the second quarter, you know, allow a field goal fourteen to ten, you know, you're down, you go down late midway through the second quarter, you know, you're down seventeen to fourteen, you know, you get another you get the ball back, you rush for a touchdown, you go up, you know pretty pretty late in the first in the in the second quarter, you're up twenty-one seventeen.
- 4:34SPEAKER_01: Unfortunately, you allow a fuel goal fairly late in the third quarter with about four minutes or so left in the third in the second quarter.
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: And then, you know, you're able to get another fuel goal and go up twenty-four to twenty.
- 4:47SPEAKER_01: But then unfortunately late with nineteen seconds left in the third quarter, you allow another fuel goal.
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: You know, you're up by you're up by a touchdown going or one point going into going into halftime.
- 4:57SPEAKER_01: And you're getting the ball.
- 4:59SPEAKER_01: And again, same old story of CU.
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: You know, play good the first half, play good the second half, whatever it is, don't make the right necessary adjustments to to to win the game.
- 5:13SPEAKER_01: You know, the very first drive, very first play, the the this third quarter, you fumble the ball, they score, they're up you know, 30-24.
- 5:22SPEAKER_01: You know, they get the ball back fairly quickly, midway through the third they're up 37-24.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: You know, two quick touchdowns in the third quarter, you don't get anything, you get shut out.
- 5:32SPEAKER_01: You know.
- 5:33SPEAKER_01: Early in the thr in the fourth quarter, a field goal.
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: A little bit midway through the sec th fourth quarter, another touchdown.
- 5:40SPEAKER_01: Little pass midway the third quarter.
- 5:42SPEAKER_01: Fourth quarter, another touch another field goal.
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: Late, you know, one minute eighteen seconds, you allow a touchdown, and and you just you get blown out.
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: You know, Wilson was 19-27 for 280 yards, two and two.
- 5:58SPEAKER_01: Mastermaker Mastermaker was 386, 4 and 0.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: And you don't throw any interceptions, you know, yeah, you're you're gonna win a game.
- 6:08SPEAKER_01: And and it just it's it's I don't I don't understand how Colorado continues to struggle with with these games.
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: You you know, yeah, you you could have beaten Oklahoma State, you probably should have, but you you don't.
- 6:25SPEAKER_01: And then we had week week seven of the NFL.
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: And you know, it started out Thursday night with the Bears and Patriots.
- 6:37SPEAKER_01: Bears beat the Patriots 24 30 to 24.
- 6:42SPEAKER_01: Broncos beat the Cardinals 20 to 30 to 16, Steelers beat the Saints 16 to 10.
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: Colts beat the Vik or Vikings beat the Colts 16 to 10 Dolphins beat the Jets 28-25.
- 7:00SPEAKER_01: Uh Bengals beat the Ravens 35-13.
- 7:04SPEAKER_01: Browns win over the Titans 27-24.
- 7:08SPEAKER_01: Buccaneers beat the Panthers 43-4-13.
- 7:12SPEAKER_01: The 49ers lose to the Falcons 29-20, so they're no longer undefeated.
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: The Texans lose in overtime to the Giants, 27-21.
- 7:22SPEAKER_01: The Rams beat the Raiders 35-21.
- 7:26SPEAKER_01: Packers lose to the Lions 20-17.
- 7:29SPEAKER_01: Seahawks beat the pants off the Chiefs 20-3 20-3.
- 7:34SPEAKER_01: The Eagles lost to the Cowboys 38-21.
- 7:39SPEAKER_01: Buffalo was on a bye, Jacksonville was on a bye, the LA Chargers were on a bye, and the Washington Commanders were on a bye.
- 7:46SPEAKER_01: Broncos game.
- 7:47SPEAKER_01: Good game for the Broncos.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: Dominating dominating game, able to really keep Arizona Cardinals in check.
- 7:59SPEAKER_01: You know, no school you know, the Broncos get two fuel goals in the first quarter at 1105 mark, and then the 113 mark, you go up six to nothing.
- 8:09SPEAKER_01: You know, second quarter you allow a fuel goal.
- 8:12SPEAKER_01: Like kind of early in the second quarter you allow a fuel goal, you allow another fuel goal.
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: Fairly late in the second in the second quarter, you get a huge, huge run for 62 yards by Bonicks.
- 8:26SPEAKER_01: That that that run was unreal.
- 8:29SPEAKER_01: He he it was everybody flowed to one side, all the receivers were covered, they were man-to-man.
- 8:36SPEAKER_01: He pulled the ball down and just started running, and it looked like at one point he wanted a slide, but then he kind of figured, well, heck, I can make this and ran for 62 yards with 343 left in the second quarter, and were able to go up 13 to 6 at halftime.
- 8:55SPEAKER_01: Third quarter, get another another quick another long touchdown, a 52-yard pass to Harvey.
- 9:05SPEAKER_01: And that was just a little screen, and and Harvey was able to kind of dink and dunk and and and get out in the open and and score a touchdown and and really, you know, make it twenty to six.
- 9:15SPEAKER_01: You know, and then you know the the You know the Arizona was able to get a touchdown of themselves and you know, make it twenty to thirteen.
- 9:26SPEAKER_01: Broncos kind of took over from there.
- 9:27SPEAKER_01: Dobbins was able to score with no time left in the third quarter and go up twenty-seven-thirteen, and then about midway through the fourth quarter, you know, the the you know, Lutz was able to get a get another fuel goal to go thirty to thirteen.
- 9:42SPEAKER_01: And just a very good performance by the Broncos.
- 9:45SPEAKER_01: And and it was it was uh it was fun to see, and it was good to see him beat a team that they obviously everybody know they should have beaten.
- 9:52SPEAKER_01: And so we'll do a quick thing, quick game highlight of the Broncos and Cardinals, and then I'll play some prep press conferences of Bonics and Sean Payton after the Quinn.
- 11:50SPEAKER_02: Looking for Coleman.
- 11:52SPEAKER_02: On first down to set him back.
- 11:53SPEAKER_02: Coleman the back from the 29th to the front by the Cardinals.
- 11:56SPEAKER_02: They go underneath Coleman's second chance today.
- 11:58SPEAKER_02: First down, diving to the 40, brought down on the plane by Keaton Crawford.
- 12:05SPEAKER_02: Back to New York and at him.
- 12:07SPEAKER_02: Hitting in the kitchen.
- 12:08SPEAKER_02: Extra linemen in.
- 12:09SPEAKER_02: Running back is Coleman's back in a crumbling pocket, hitting down.
- 12:15SPEAKER_02: Coming through still's got him.
- 12:18SPEAKER_02: How they defended is gonna be important as this game progresses.
- 12:21SPEAKER_02: Drum the eighth second down at eight, Algier in motion.
- 12:23SPEAKER_02: Ever set to the air, and he's got McBride at the 12.
- 12:27SPEAKER_02: Nice hit right there.
- 12:27SPEAKER_02: Stranad will get him.
- 12:29SPEAKER_02: There's gonna be a different mixture today in terms of he covers straight a grunt.
- 12:33SPEAKER_02: Alger the bat, third and three.
- 12:35SPEAKER_02: Hennessy was going down.
- 12:38SPEAKER_02: What plate pressure by Roach?

- 12:42SPEAKER_02: Bride continues.
- 12:43SPEAKER_02: Second down and eight.
- 12:44SPEAKER_02: Bowls a block and mixed to the air.
- 12:47SPEAKER_02: Nice catch by Waddle.
- 12:49SPEAKER_02: Wow, what a grab.
- 12:51SPEAKER_02: Clark was defending 24 of the Cardinals.
- 12:54SPEAKER_02: Well, they end up catching this off the soft corner.
- 12:58SPEAKER_11: Clark backpedals, and all it is is just a comeback to the outside.
- 13:02SPEAKER_02: Third and 16, they need the 14.
- 13:06SPEAKER_02: Powers the block.
- 13:07SPEAKER_02: Underneath they go.
- 13:08SPEAKER_02: Men is wrestled down by Simon.
- 13:12SPEAKER_02: Drilled a 48-yarder on the opening drive of the game.
- 13:14SPEAKER_02: This will be a 43-yard field goal drive.
- 13:20SPEAKER_02: Got it.
- 13:21SPEAKER_02: 6-0 Broncos.
- 13:24SPEAKER_02: After the kickoff by the Broncos and the 43-yard field goal, it's first and 10.
- 13:28SPEAKER_02: Bret to the air.
- 13:29SPEAKER_02: Got a block from his running back.
- 13:30SPEAKER_02: Knight.
- 13:31SPEAKER_02: He's going deep.
- 13:32SPEAKER_02: He's down.
- 13:32SPEAKER_02: Look at that.
- 13:34SPEAKER_02: Ross was downfield with the flags thrown.
- 13:37SPEAKER_02: And Michael Wilson was the target.
- 13:40SPEAKER_02: B on Denver.
- 13:41SPEAKER_02: That's an apple.
- 13:42SPEAKER_02: Defense is number 21.
- 13:45SPEAKER_02: Oh, Chris Lana.
- 13:46SPEAKER_02: On a cliff that's on the 45 of Denver.
- 13:50SPEAKER_02: Here's the handoff to band knight.
- 13:52SPEAKER_02: Big game against the wind.
- 13:53SPEAKER_02: Oh, look at him.
- 13:56SPEAKER_02: And the flat line is within an axe him out.
- 13:59SPEAKER_02: He saw like a flag thrown as he was working away down the sideline.
- 14:06SPEAKER_02: It's Jacobi Buschette.
- 14:08SPEAKER_02: Outside he goes to Higgins.
- 14:09SPEAKER_02: Looking for a block and avalanche defenders right there to get him led by Singleton.
- 14:17SPEAKER_02: Second down in goal.
- 14:19SPEAKER_02: This is night.
- 14:20SPEAKER_02: Pulling right here with Connor.
- 14:21SPEAKER_02: Red well.
- 14:22SPEAKER_02: Beautiful play.
- 14:23SPEAKER_02: Turned in.
- 14:25SPEAKER_02: Jones took off to the left where McBride was.
- 14:27SPEAKER_02: That's why we're set with that drive.
- 14:28SPEAKER_02: Lyland, 30-yard field goal to get on the board.
- 14:31SPEAKER_02: And it's a six to three game.
- 14:33SPEAKER_02: Nailing it.
- 14:35SPEAKER_02: Second down in 10.
- 14:38SPEAKER_02: Kicking 11.
- 14:39SPEAKER_02: Nice five.
- 14:40SPEAKER_02: Big hole.
- 14:41SPEAKER_02: Blocked by Pelchowski.
- 14:42SPEAKER_02: It is out to the 20s.
- 14:43SPEAKER_02: Some breathing space here.
- 14:45SPEAKER_02: Clark is not.
- 14:46SPEAKER_02: It's again a five for the morning.
- 14:57SPEAKER_02: It is going to be shiny.
- 15:29SPEAKER_02: We have the first and ten.
- 15:31SPEAKER_02: Around the edge they come.
- 15:32SPEAKER_02: Bruchette moves up and there's the catch.
- 15:34SPEAKER_02: And it's made there by Michael Wilson.
- 15:36SPEAKER_02: They just need better production in the red zone.
- 15:39SPEAKER_02: Algier on the move, second down in 10.
- 15:42SPEAKER_02: And they go to McBride.
- 15:45SPEAKER_02: Bruchette.
- 15:46SPEAKER_02: Caught.
- 15:48SPEAKER_02: And head over heels there.
- 15:49SPEAKER_02: McBride.
- 15:50SPEAKER_02: And down he will keep it a short kid.
- 15:52SPEAKER_02: 26-yard field goal to tie for Lyland.
- 15:54SPEAKER_02: It was 6-6 last week and 2-2 today.
- 15:58SPEAKER_02: Second down and 7 from the 38.
- 16:01SPEAKER_02: McCullem back there.
- 16:02SPEAKER_02: McClinchy a blonde.
- 16:04SPEAKER_02: Frumbling pocket hits on the move.
- 16:06SPEAKER_02: He has a lot of mice, but he's got room to run.
- 16:09SPEAKER_09: And chase 10 5.
- 16:12SPEAKER_09: Touchdown.
- 16:18SPEAKER_09: 62 yard.
- 16:21SPEAKER_09: Touchdown.
- 16:24SPEAKER_09: But watch, they're gonna run four up the field.
- 16:28SPEAKER_11: And nobody, nobody is on Knicks.
- 16:31SPEAKER_11: So as he comes up the field, look at all these guys are locked up.
- 16:34SPEAKER_11: They're all locked up.
- 16:36SPEAKER_06: There's nobody assigned to Bo Knicks.
- 16:40SPEAKER_06: He's taking some criticism about not running enough, as he Algiro off Rub and Receptor the air.
- 16:48SPEAKER_02: Incomplete.
- 16:49SPEAKER_02: Nice coverage by Jones on the all-pro tight end, Trey McBride.
- 16:54SPEAKER_02: 205 right before the two-minute warning.
- 16:58SPEAKER_02: Harvey was in the backfield, Mitz.
- 17:00SPEAKER_02: Chased by Sweat.
- 17:01SPEAKER_02: Outside hits Cortland Sutton.
- 17:07SPEAKER_02: Harvey was the back and he gets the call and he gets a block from Sutton and Humphrey, and he's gonna be short of the first down.
- 17:13SPEAKER_02: Still have those two timeouts, but now they're past the two-minute warning, so trying to get themselves into scoring.
- 17:19SPEAKER_02: Knight was the bat.
- 17:20SPEAKER_02: First and ten up the middle to Kendrick Bourne.
- 17:22SPEAKER_02: Tackled by Singleton.
- 17:24SPEAKER_02: Shallow cross to the 39 on that completion to try and save some time if they stop him here on third.
- 17:30SPEAKER_02: Third down and four.
- 17:32SPEAKER_02: Park it in the town, and down he goes.
- 17:34SPEAKER_02: Roach.
- 17:36SPEAKER_02: Malcolm Roach with this jack.
- 17:40SPEAKER_02: First zap by Genders defense.
- 17:43SPEAKER_02: And by the way, this offensive line of the Cardinals did not allow a Rams.
- 17:54SPEAKER_02: Here's a fleet flicker.
- 17:55SPEAKER_02: Coleman to next downfield and quack a lot broken out.
- 18:00SPEAKER_02: Franklin had it broken up beautifully by Brooks.
- 18:02SPEAKER_10: Crowbars without.
- 18:08SPEAKER_10: And the quick handoff.
- 18:11SPEAKER_10: And it's R.J.
- 18:12SPEAKER_02: Harvey.
- 18:13SPEAKER_02: And brought down by Browning.
- 18:15SPEAKER_02: And half time is here with zeros on the clock.
- 18:17SPEAKER_02: Brissett much time in the pocket, and the run game has been has been tough to come by for the Cardinals.
- 18:22SPEAKER_02: Knight to back, second and eight.
- 18:24SPEAKER_02: Good cut for Bursett.
- 18:25SPEAKER_02: Going deep is long enough.
- 18:28SPEAKER_02: Broken up incomplete.
- 18:29SPEAKER_02: Coverage by Jones.
- 18:30SPEAKER_02: Never going for Brooks.
- 18:32SPEAKER_02: That was Devin Key back then as well, starting for Hafunga.
- 18:35SPEAKER_02: Third down and eight.
- 18:36SPEAKER_02: Hit as he throws by Benito in the pass caught by McBride.
- 18:40SPEAKER_02: Offensive nine for the Cardinals has allowed only one sack today.
- 18:43SPEAKER_02: None last week.
- 18:44SPEAKER_02: First down and ten.
- 18:45SPEAKER_02: And he'll go here.
- 18:46SPEAKER_02: Nice catch made.
- 18:48SPEAKER_02: Wow, McBride.
- 18:49SPEAKER_02: That was right in front of Jade Blan.
- 18:53SPEAKER_02: He was pretty fired up on the sideline.
- 18:55SPEAKER_11: There's no flag.
- 18:57SPEAKER_02: It is an incomplete pass.
- 18:58SPEAKER_11: Oh, wow.
- 19:01SPEAKER_11: That's a different link now, Calvin.
- 19:03SPEAKER_11: That's a different link.
- 19:04SPEAKER_02: And night for back.
- 19:05SPEAKER_02: Third down ten.
- 19:06SPEAKER_02: Going deep for sad and incomplete.
- 19:10SPEAKER_02: Moss covering.
- 19:11SPEAKER_02: No flag.
- 19:13SPEAKER_11: It appeared.
- 19:14SPEAKER_11: It appeared that uh that moss had uh interference on it.
- 19:17SPEAKER_09: Oh, the galaxy's blocked! Deflected! The ball of flutters! Coming through! What a terrific play! And it may have been Adam Prentice.
- 19:33SPEAKER_02: They had a couple guys bearing down on the punter Gillian, who has not had one blocked or deflected.
- 19:41SPEAKER_02: Big time, special team play.
- 19:43SPEAKER_02: That you got it.
- 19:45SPEAKER_02: RB is the back and the pistol.
- 19:53SPEAKER_02: Here it goes, Mark, oh no!
- 19:56SPEAKER_09: There he goes.
- 20:16SPEAKER_11: They overload the left.
- 20:19SPEAKER_11: You get three linemen out in space blocking one, and you get one of the fastest players you have on offense in a foot race.
- 20:30SPEAKER_02: It's night, and they quickly converge on him, hit by Benito the two-time Tobal line.
- 20:36SPEAKER_01: So, you know, you you can see right there that they're you know an another very dominating performance by the Broncos, and that's exactly what the Broncos I think needed.
- 20:47SPEAKER_01: You you see the big Bonex touchdown run, and it just it was able to to really be you know, really be what I think really helped the Broncos, you know, win that win that game.
- 21:02SPEAKER_01: You know, and and you know, you you really see you you really see that, you know, he you know, hear that and and see it.
- 21:17SPEAKER_01: And quick little press conference at Bonex after the the win in Arizona.
- 21:23SPEAKER_08: Well, you had told us that athletic, but you felt fine.
- 21:27SPEAKER_08: You believe me now?
- 21:28SPEAKER_07: I do now.
- 21:28SPEAKER_07: I'm a 10-year run.
- 21:30SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 21:30SPEAKER_07: Just what if I know that was unusual to have that kind of space at the NFL.
- 21:34SPEAKER_07: Just take me through that run and what that might have done for you as kind of the boost for this offense.
- 21:39SPEAKER_00: We uh had sort of a three level shot on the right, and they were playing man to it, and so they all ended up on the other side of the field.
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: And O line gave me a nice crease there, and then everybody else just sort of kept their guys occupied while I while I ran, and there was a lot of space, and I was just really hoping to get in the end zone.
- 21:55SPEAKER_07: Was there any way you weren't scoring on that?
- 21:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I guess if somebody came attacking me, but I was uh, you know, fortunate there was nobody there until the goal line and at that point I was I had to score.
- 22:05SPEAKER_05: Oh you you you know that you're healthy, Zach Allen just said they see your athleticism in practice every day.
- 22:10SPEAKER_05: Is it nice though to show the whole world that uh play?
- 22:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's it's really nice.
- 22:16SPEAKER_00: And you know, that's just part of it, I guess, until people see it.
- 22:19SPEAKER_00: They'll never really believe you.
- 22:21SPEAKER_00: But, you know, who knows, there'll still be people probably ask about it.
- 22:24SPEAKER_03: Do you feel a little vindicated though?
- 22:27SPEAKER_03: Was it just running that was throwing the ball down the middle, it was throwing the deep explosive play?
- 22:33SPEAKER_03: Kind of answered a lot of, you know, what they've been saying a package of it.
- 22:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I guess if you're listening to it, but I thought we played a a good game offensively.
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: Still several things that we would like to get better at.
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: You know, the several penalties that we we didn't love from some of the four minutes there at the end, we we didn't look very smooth and clean at.
- 22:53SPEAKER_00: But overall, we had a, you know, a big win over a tough team on the road.
- 22:58SPEAKER_00: And so it was really good for us.
- 22:59SPEAKER_00: And so we just got to keep improving and keep getting better and taking it one game, one game at a time, really.
- 23:05SPEAKER_03: Well long has it been since you had that much running final running.
- 23:09SPEAKER_00: It's been a while.
- 23:10SPEAKER_00: I had one similar against Stanford my first year at Oregon that was a little bit similar, but you know, you're y'all are right.
- 23:16SPEAKER_00: There's not a lot of times you get that much, you know, open space, unavoided running like that in the open field.
- 23:23SPEAKER_00: So that was that was really cool.
- 23:24SPEAKER_04: But when you when you score 30 and be 15 by 14, and yet have the third down numbers you had, or there's other areas to improve.
- 23:31SPEAKER_04: So what does that make watching a film this week feel like where you know they're still maybe beat on the bone?
- 23:36SPEAKER_00: It'll still be tough.
- 23:38SPEAKER_00: I think you know, we are in a position to be coach tough, and I think we have the team to do it.
- 23:43SPEAKER_00: So I hope we, you know, are coached tough.
- 23:45SPEAKER_00: I hope they they you know make it really important this week to find those details, and there's several things in the game that we can grow from, and it's an important week, and we know that, and we have to be really sharp and disciplined.
- 23:56SPEAKER_00: So we can carry the coaching from from this game on into this week.
- 24:00SPEAKER_07: What did you see on the shot to Marvin?
- 24:02SPEAKER_07: Because he the primary was Evan.
- 24:04SPEAKER_07: I mean, I'm watching in real time the shot down the sideline to Marvin.
- 24:07SPEAKER_07: What did you see on that to make that fight?
- 24:09SPEAKER_07: It would look like no hesitation.
- 24:12SPEAKER_00: We had a short out route by Evan and an outside release by Marv, and they had shown a little bit of trap coverage.
- 24:19SPEAKER_00: The corner would take the out.
- 24:20SPEAKER_00: And we had thrown a couple short passes leading up to that, and Marvin did a really good job of staying out by the sideline and in their coverage.
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: If you get an outbreaker by number two, the corner's gonna collapse and then the safety's got to get over the top.
- 24:32SPEAKER_00: And the way it happens real quick is Marvin didn't really get interrupted on his route, and so he got past the coverage pretty quickly.
- 24:40SPEAKER_00: And it was just one of those anticipatory throws that you see every once in a while on film.
- 24:44SPEAKER_00: And the way they were lined up in the mug package, I knew they were gonna play palms out of it if they dropped.
- 24:50SPEAKER_00: And Buddha had already shown some of that disguise to where he got to the middle.
- 24:53SPEAKER_00: It was two high zones.
- 24:54SPEAKER_00: So we knew it was a possibility, and we hadn't made that throw all week as just sort of a reaction.
- 24:59SPEAKER_00: But that was one of those fun throws where you, in my opinion, I know I'm seeing the game really well when I do so like that is that on modern three far.
- 25:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'd say that's a great way to put it.
- 25:10SPEAKER_00: I think it's just that rhythm, getting in that flow of the game, seeing the coverage really well, having the opportunities to throw those balls down the field, and you know, it's just something to to learn from still and then grow from.
- 25:23SPEAKER_03: As you broke the pocket and took off, was it the decision made on what you saw from the defensive backs, or is it just the open grass that you saw that you decided to pick?
- 25:32SPEAKER_00: So my read took me down because it was man-to-man, and then when my eyes got down, I had a nice crease in the pocket, and then once you start running, you sort of turn into, you know, a running back at that point, and you're worried about you know, get exposed to plays, maximize the plays, and at that point we had a great opportunity to run a long way.
- 25:52SPEAKER_00: So it was just a a covered man-to-man route that just took my eyes down to a run.
- 25:57SPEAKER_05: So it felt like there were like 50% of the fans here from this band, not more.
- 26:01SPEAKER_05: How did it have that feel for the offense?
- 26:03SPEAKER_00: It was it was great.
- 26:04SPEAKER_00: It felt really comfortable.
- 26:06SPEAKER_00: It was uh really nice to see our fans show up to an away game like this.
- 26:09SPEAKER_00: You know, a non-what do you call it, divisional is conference game.
- 26:14SPEAKER_00: And, you know, so it's just for a normal game in in Phoenix, it was really cool to see them show up and a lot of orange in the stands.
- 26:21SPEAKER_00: And I'm not, you know, never been a huge fan of red being an Auburn guy with Alabama and Georgia.
- 26:26SPEAKER_00: So it was nice to see a lot of orange in the stadium.
- 26:30SPEAKER_01: You know, and again, he he continues to say, you know, and in my opinion, the right things to the media.
- 26:35SPEAKER_01: You know, yeah, we still have things to improve, yeah, we won.
- 26:38SPEAKER_01: But you know, we gotta look at the game film.
- 26:39SPEAKER_01: We always always gotta be improved.
- 26:41SPEAKER_01: We like to be coached tough, we like to be, you know, pushed to to always always do our best.
- 26:47SPEAKER_01: And that's that's that's a good sign of a of a of a quarterback that's coming off of a little bit of a slump of a year and and saying, hey, we're gonna improve every game and I'm ready to go.
- 26:55SPEAKER_01: Sean Payton, um, his opinion on the win in Arizona.
- 27:04SPEAKER_11: Good win, obviously, on the road.
- 27:06SPEAKER_11: There'll be a number of things when we look at the tape that uh that we feel good about.
- 27:10SPEAKER_11: Obviously, there'll be things that we want to clean up.
- 27:12SPEAKER_11: Any questions?
- 27:13SPEAKER_04: I just acknowledge update a plays, John plays on those.
- 27:17SPEAKER_11: Yeah, like look, each week, different than last week's team.
- 27:21SPEAKER_11: You could see these opportunities potentially.
- 27:24SPEAKER_11: So we were gonna be aggressive and sometimes you call them and the ball goes somewhere else.
- 27:31SPEAKER_11: Fortunately, we had a fair amount of opportunities, you know, down the field.
- 27:36SPEAKER_08: Oh, I know that's unusual for a quarterback to see that.
- 27:38SPEAKER_08: Like what can that kind of do for him if he wanted it to climb the pot here?
- 27:42SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I I think it's more I think it answers our question.
- 27:46SPEAKER_11: Can he still run?
- 27:47SPEAKER_11: I mean, we got a match coverage, and so it just happened to be a route where we were pushing someone to the flat, someone on a deep corner, someone on a sail, the back going that way, and believe it or not, the the tight end.
- 28:01SPEAKER_11: If you if you watch the old 22, you're gonna see a point where he climbs and from the center over, I think all the eligibles are right.
- 28:10SPEAKER_11: And and it wasn't it was more of a match coverage, so it was good decision, big play.
- 28:17SPEAKER_11: Yeah, also the season high overall, and like always working well.
- 28:23SPEAKER_11: I thought we had a good plan, you know, relative to some of the gap schemes.
- 28:28SPEAKER_11: It's a pretty tough unit, like we wanted to be in a little bit more base personnel.
- 28:34SPEAKER_11: Someone asked last week about Adam Prentice and you know, just kind of like you know, we're leading into this game where we were gonna be in a little bit more 21 to keep them out of some of their nickel looks.
- 28:46SPEAKER_11: So that that was that was good.
- 28:50SPEAKER_06: It's a one of five in the red zombie.
- 28:53SPEAKER_11: That was big, it's a good it's a good, you know, the obviously the tight end's a threat, and uh that last uh four plays was pretty impressive.
- 29:05SPEAKER_11: Jersey looked really good.
- 29:07SPEAKER_11: Gotta get him more terrible touches definitely go ahead.
- 29:14SPEAKER_10: Listen, I think for our team offensively, all those things.
- 29:19SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 29:20SPEAKER_11: I mean the confidence inside the building relative to his abilities hadn't changed at all.
- 29:30SPEAKER_11: And I and I appreciate some guys sometimes you're answering questions about whether or not there's not one time where we were he's he's our guy.
- 29:39SPEAKER_11: And and it was good to see him play well.
- 29:41SPEAKER_11: And it was good to see his block well and and make some plays down the field.
- 29:48SPEAKER_04: The last couple weeks without without him.
- 29:51SPEAKER_11: Pretty impressive.
- 29:52SPEAKER_11: You know, you're you're just man thankful for the depth of those guys stepping up.
- 29:55SPEAKER_11: Taquan almost had a couple tonight.
- 29:58SPEAKER_11: You know, he he he he's got good ball skills and a lot of guys played well.
- 30:05SPEAKER_10: Yeah, uh they tried to put the ladder in.
- 30:08SPEAKER_11: Yeah, listen, we're we're we're in good position.
- 30:12SPEAKER_11: There were a lot of big plays that stood out.
- 30:14SPEAKER_11: You know, apprentice has the block punt in the third quarter, and I think it leads to the third touchdown.
- 30:20SPEAKER_11: It was one of our more complete games, the kicking game, you know.
- 30:23SPEAKER_11: We had a good kick return to start the game with Mims midfield.
- 30:29SPEAKER_11: Yeah, a lot of a lot of things I'm sure we'll look at in in in like Yeah, I saw it.
- 30:36SPEAKER_11: I wanted I'm never gonna criticize the officials.
- 30:39SPEAKER_11: You know, the the big play to RJ, I must be coaching it wrong.
- 30:44SPEAKER_11: You know, I mean that that's on me then.
- 30:46SPEAKER_11: You know, I want to see the tape.
- 30:49SPEAKER_11: At some point I said if you guys are doing your best to tune the TV audience out, you know, you're on a roll.
- 30:56SPEAKER_11: Um but fortunately we we didn't really look at that and we just kept playing.
- 31:02SPEAKER_11: Go ahead.
- 31:04SPEAKER_11: Um, I was just gonna do that.
- 31:08SPEAKER_11: You were thinking of one.
- 31:13SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I I yeah, and look, um, we knew we'd get a lot of zone pressures.
- 31:18SPEAKER_11: The fortune, the one thing we did was we stayed out of some third down because of first and second down explosives.
- 31:25SPEAKER_11: So all good.
- 31:26SPEAKER_06: Oh, so you can hear the excitement of the team.
- 31:29SPEAKER_11: It's always that way after a win.
- 31:31SPEAKER_11: You just we're just not that close.
- 31:34SPEAKER_11: It's always that way after a win.
- 31:36SPEAKER_11: That's it.
- 31:37SPEAKER_11: It's always that way after a win.
- 31:39SPEAKER_11: After every win, we're happy.
- 31:42SPEAKER_10: I just said it was a complete game.
- 31:44SPEAKER_10: Next question.
- 31:47SPEAKER_10: It's nice.
- 31:49SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 31:51SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 31:52SPEAKER_11: It was good.
- 31:52SPEAKER_11: Why didn't anybody ask me about the dumb reverse call?
- 31:56SPEAKER_11: That's what that would be one of the first calls.
- 31:58SPEAKER_11: All right.
- 31:59SPEAKER_11: I'm gonna answer everyone ask the question.
- 32:02SPEAKER_11: It was awful.
- 32:04SPEAKER_11: All right, I'm sorry.
- 32:05SPEAKER_11: And I I if you look it up in 2008, in a similar situation, even a more radical reverse, fumbled, Tampa Bay beat us.
- 32:14SPEAKER_11: I know better, and every once in a while you fall in love with the play.
- 32:19SPEAKER_01: And so you know, and again, he he's happy they won.
- 32:26SPEAKER_01: But again, you can you can still hear in his voice to where it's we got to improve, we got to improve, we got to improve.
- 32:31SPEAKER_01: You know, you you have a very tough game against the division leading, you know, Kansas City Chiefs that are coming off their first loss of the season.
- 32:40SPEAKER_01: You know, your your one of your two losses is to, you know, the Chiefs, and your other one is to, you know, in the AF NFC West, the the San Francisco 49ers.
- 32:50SPEAKER_01: You now are officially done with everybody in the NFC West.
- 32:52SPEAKER_01: You've played all four teams.
- 32:54SPEAKER_01: You went three and one, you are five and five and two, you know, this, you know, after you know, after week seven, you know, week eight, and you got the Chiefs at home.
- 33:05SPEAKER_01: You're almost done with the Chiefs.
- 33:06SPEAKER_01: You know, you gotta split this series, you've got to be able to beat the Chiefs a second time.
- 33:10SPEAKER_01: I just I just feel that if you lose to the Chiefs, you're gonna put yourself in a bind in a position to where you're gonna unfortunately have to be a a wild card team, and and I think the Chiefs can can still have a very good chance of winning the division.
- 33:22SPEAKER_01: If you would have told me at the beginning of the season that where the the Chargers would have been at 0-6, I would have told you you're nuts.
- 33:27SPEAKER_01: You know, we know the Raiders are gonna be struggling, you know, we know they're in you know they're in third place in the AFC West.
- 33:34SPEAKER_01: You know, you would have told me that at the beginning of the season again.
- 33:36SPEAKER_01: I would have told you you're crazy.
- 33:37SPEAKER_01: I said no, that would have been the Raiders that were 0-6.
- 33:40SPEAKER_01: But it it's it's a good it's a good game.
- 33:43SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be a good game this week, and and the Broncos need to be focused and ready to go to beat the to beat the Chiefs.
- 33:50SPEAKER_01: You know, we do know Alabama plays on Saturday, Colorado plays on Saturday in week nine of you know, week eight starts tomorrow in of of the NFL.
- 34:04SPEAKER_01: Panthers, Packers on Thursday night.
- 34:06SPEAKER_01: Broncos, Chiefs at 2.25.
- 34:08SPEAKER_01: That may be flexed, but we'll have to see, maybe not.
- 34:11SPEAKER_01: Colts, Jaguars, Titans, Bengals, Browns, Steelers, Vikings, Lions, back-to-back divisional game for the Lions.
- 34:19SPEAKER_01: That's that's always always tough.
- 34:21SPEAKER_01: Falcons, Buccaneers, Cow Cowgirls, I mean Cowboys, Cardinals, Raiders, Jets, Ravens, Bills, Chargers, Rams.
- 34:31SPEAKER_01: Interesting, both teams will be playing at home basically.
- 34:33SPEAKER_01: Patriots versus the Dolphins, Eagles and the Commanders, and then Monday night are the Bears and Seahawks, the teams on bye for week eight.
- 34:42SPEAKER_01: The Houston Texans, the New Orleans Saints, the New York Giants, and the San Francisco 49ers.
- 34:47SPEAKER_01: The Sunday night game is.
- 35:06SPEAKER_01: Both teams are there and and and struggling.
- 35:09SPEAKER_01: Week nine for college football starts tonight.
- 35:17SPEAKER_01: The Colorado will play Kansas State in Den in Colorado in Boulder.
- 35:23SPEAKER_01: My wife and my son are gonna go to the game.
- 35:25SPEAKER_01: He does not know he's going to the game, so they should have fun there.
- 35:28SPEAKER_01: And Alabama is off this week.
- 35:30SPEAKER_01: They have a bye, they have two weeks to pair for LSU, a very tough SEC game coming up for Alabama.
- 35:37SPEAKER_01: But if Alabama can win that, then I still think they have a shot to be in the SEC championship game and and and potentially still be in the playoffs.
- 35:45SPEAKER_01: Tomorrow we'll do another podcast here where we'll talk about the Denver Nuggets having kind of a bit of a rough start.
- 35:55SPEAKER_01: They are one and two going on for the season, and then we'll talk some more about the Aves.
- 35:58SPEAKER_01: The Aves do play tomorrow night.
- 36:02SPEAKER_01: Or they play tonight.
- 36:03SPEAKER_01: The World Series.
- 36:04SPEAKER_01: The Milwaukee Brewers are up three games to one.
- 36:08SPEAKER_01: They lost last night in the 12th inning, so they did not sweep.
- 36:11SPEAKER_01: We'll do a little bit on that.
- 36:14SPEAKER_01: But as always, Scobuffs, Roll Tide, Go Broncos, Go Nuggets, Go Aves.
- 36:20SPEAKER_01: Thank you for listening to T Bone Sports One Fan All Game Podcast 21.
