- 0:00Speaker 1: You need this now because I know I stand until
- 0:06Speaker 1: this day, this day.
- 0:20Speaker 2: That oh right, what's going on? Everybody? I am the one,
- 0:24Speaker 2: the only, the w o o kay I e joined
- 0:26Speaker 2: here by the normal cast of misfits. We have the
- 0:29Speaker 2: eu Waukist of v walks Ewalk Jr.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Hello, Keith Ford community. Glad to be here in a
- 0:35Speaker 3: brand new year.
- 0:36Speaker 2: New Year, New das course, still the same old choke show.
- 0:39Speaker 2: We got the choke Show. Hey guys, happening new Year.
- 0:44Speaker 2: I had a wonderful holiday and the PhD of key Forge.
- 0:48Speaker 2: I want to give him like a letter like doctor
- 0:51Speaker 2: m Sheep. I don't know why I get.
- 0:55Speaker 4: I get a letter to six.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Yeah that's toy twenty five. Fix still twenty five.
- 1:02Speaker 4: Well then I can have a letter next year.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Oh okay, wait, but obviously we are back from the
- 1:10Speaker 2: holiday break that we normally take around this time of year. Boys,
- 1:15Speaker 2: did Chota bring you everything that was on your Christmas list? Ua? Choda? Definitely?
- 1:23Speaker 2: Joda brought me some of the fun stuff on my list,
- 1:26Speaker 2: So uh so it was good. Chota is fun funner
- 1:30Speaker 2: than Santah I agree, I agree. I got some some games,
- 1:36Speaker 2: got some uh uh some stuff for the bar. So
- 1:41Speaker 2: you know, see, that's why Chota is better than I
- 1:43Speaker 2: don't think Santa brings booze. Yeah, these are these were
- 1:47Speaker 2: not this was not bottles of alcohol. Oh actually no,
- 1:50Speaker 2: that's not true. I did get a bottle of alcohol
- 1:52Speaker 2: from my new boss, which was kind of cool. I
- 1:55Speaker 2: was like, oh, all right, wish my boss would give
- 1:58Speaker 2: me bottles of alcohol. I'll he gives you indigestion. Was good?
- 2:05Speaker 2: I mean it was, yeah, I mean I was. It was, uh,
- 2:09Speaker 2: the Woodford Reserve bourbon. So it is a good bottle,
- 2:15Speaker 2: you say, all my bosses gives me heartaches and gray hairs.
- 2:19Speaker 2: I would take I would take any bottle of boozy.
- 2:21Speaker 2: But it was like, oh here, here's your Sam's choice whiskey.
- 2:24Speaker 2: I'd be like, oh, well, thank you.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Could you turn it into Jepson's milort sausage.
- 2:29Speaker 2: I don't know about that. The only thing I know
- 2:33Speaker 2: about mylart is it is fished out of the Chicago River.
- 2:37Speaker 2: That is why it is yellow, because it is filled
- 2:39Speaker 2: with urine. Mm hmm. As sheep cracks one, I'm not
- 2:45Speaker 2: sure who's cracking the alert.
- 2:48Speaker 4: But.
- 2:54Speaker 2: OK, zero zero, I'm gonna say probably die of coke.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Mm hmm, it's eight thirty at night. Sheep's got a
- 3:01Speaker 2: new job where he's got to be in betty By
- 3:03Speaker 2: by a certain time, So we got to go. So
- 3:06Speaker 2: paddle to the battle. Ab R is still happening, guys,
- 3:09Speaker 2: key for it is still happening in twenty twenty five.
- 3:12Speaker 2: It's a Christmas miracle.
- 3:14Speaker 4: Yay.
- 3:16Speaker 2: So what's gone on over in the ABR land dras Corps? Well,
- 3:19Speaker 2: guess which team is currently in first place based on
- 3:23Speaker 2: all the losses this week that I haven't submitted yet?
- 3:25Speaker 2: Doctor Drasray? Uh wow, that was our doctor Drasray was
- 3:30Speaker 2: our Doctor x Ray and I team league team Probably
- 3:36Speaker 2: guess the amalgamation of three people on a team ever,
- 3:40Speaker 2: that's right, it was pretty good. Now this time it's
- 3:45Speaker 2: Team DRAZ Corps u as in dr Z Space CEO
- 3:54Speaker 2: r Ps Drazz cor Oh the DRAZ Corps like the
- 3:57Speaker 2: Marine Corps. Exactly get it? Okay, So that's what everybody
- 4:01Speaker 2: voted for. I was like, how I didn't vote for that? Well?
- 4:05Speaker 2: Did yeah? We did? You probably voted for Flaving Hobos
- 4:09Speaker 2: just to confuse everyone, did you actually vote?
- 4:12Speaker 4: She did not?
- 4:13Speaker 2: Yeah? That was definitely a top top voted one. What
- 4:17Speaker 2: did you vote for sheep or something clever? Something clever? Okay,
- 4:23Speaker 2: there's got a lot of votes, you know, bye week.
- 4:26Speaker 2: But we are not bad. We are yeah, we are.
- 4:32Speaker 3: Like okay, So for for soccer, there was a team
- 4:36Speaker 3: that when I hadn't submitted their their team name is
- 4:39Speaker 3: bye Week and yes, it really caused some issues when
- 4:42Speaker 3: you actually have a bye and then that's different from
- 4:46Speaker 3: bye week. So they got a lot of wins. It's
- 4:49Speaker 3: a lot of fun to play.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Good good strategy. We're currently in first place where this
- 4:56Speaker 2: week is the weirdest format ever, though I'm not I
- 5:01Speaker 2: wouldn't recommend it. It's an experiment. Well it's the Key
- 5:08Speaker 2: of Darkness week. Yeah, so yeah, every deck needs to
- 5:13Speaker 2: bring Key of Darkness and in order to win, you
- 5:18Speaker 2: have to forge a key with Key of Darkness, which
- 5:22Speaker 2: is probably the hardest key cheat to forge a key with.
- 5:27Speaker 2: And if in tc O you forge your third key
- 5:33Speaker 2: or you're about to forge your third key, you have
- 5:34Speaker 2: to manual mode to unforge a key so that you
- 5:38Speaker 2: can keep playing. The problem is, as we're finding eventually
- 5:43Speaker 2: in TCL, the cable just crashed because you've confused it
- 5:46Speaker 2: too much. So that happened to be on my first
- 5:49Speaker 2: the first attempt, and so then we had to play
- 5:52Speaker 2: again and I was lucky enough to to win the
- 5:57Speaker 2: second second one this week. But it's been a strange,
- 6:00Speaker 2: strange week. We always do a jank one. I don't
- 6:02Speaker 2: I don't know if this is what we'll do again.
- 6:05Speaker 3: I think that you should have just had access to
- 6:08Speaker 3: Key of Darkness twenty four to seven at least that
- 6:11Speaker 3: at any point you can go and pull it versus just.
- 6:15Speaker 4: Playing a deck without Key of Darkness and you can
- 6:17Speaker 4: just do it.
- 6:18Speaker 3: No, no, no, well no, I'm saying that it should be
- 6:22Speaker 3: in your deck. But if you can go ahead and
- 6:26Speaker 3: pull off Key of Darkness, you can go ahead and
- 6:27Speaker 3: pull off Key of Darkness, And I'm cool with that.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Sort of like the infinite or the yea artifact that
- 6:33Speaker 2: we did that was a really fun one. I liked
- 6:35Speaker 2: that format a lot, like for jank, not not you know,
- 6:40Speaker 2: not every not a huge tournament, not every week, but
- 6:44Speaker 2: like something different, something crazy. It's fun. We always do
- 6:48Speaker 2: do one weird week in ABR.
- 6:51Speaker 3: My uh, I felt bad for you when you're like, yeah,
- 6:55Speaker 3: so we went ahead and needed to go ahead and
- 6:59Speaker 3: I missed it by one. Amber because they calculated wrong
- 7:02Speaker 3: side to cycle back through my whole entire deck.
- 7:05Speaker 2: And that's yes, because I haven't played AOA and forever forever,
- 7:09Speaker 2: and I forgot sucker Punch was Alpha and and so
- 7:12Speaker 2: I'm like, I could get to twelve and I'm plagued
- 7:14Speaker 2: by cards and I'm like, why can't I play this card?
- 7:16Speaker 2: But I'm like, because it's Alpha, Yeah, it happens. Alpha
- 7:22Speaker 2: and Omega by possibly the worst mechanic ever introduced to Keithan,
- 7:30Speaker 2: you have a worst mechanic or you know, with a Tide. Yeah,
- 7:34Speaker 2: it's pretty bad, worst than Alpha Omega. I mean, Tide
- 7:38Speaker 2: is bad because they didn't make the upside up enough. Ye,
- 7:43Speaker 2: and the downside is just not that great, right, it
- 7:46Speaker 2: could have been interesting. I think Alpha and Omega are
- 7:50Speaker 2: just bad ideas.
- 7:51Speaker 4: Now people who like the Tide think tokens are the
- 7:54Speaker 4: worst mechanic ever.
- 7:57Speaker 2: They don't like good things. Yes, this is things that
- 8:00Speaker 2: are good. They're like, I want to struggle real hard
- 8:05Speaker 2: to make ever going.
- 8:06Speaker 4: To make key Forge better is if we just smashed
- 8:09Speaker 4: our fingers with a hammer and then played.
- 8:13Speaker 2: I don't know if they say that. I was more
- 8:16Speaker 2: going with the you know what would be the greatest
- 8:18Speaker 2: thing ever is of every game of KeyForge took a
- 8:21Speaker 2: full forty five minutes. Well, I played almost two forty five.
- 8:29Speaker 4: And we can just you know, extend it to an
- 8:31Speaker 4: hour long games after that.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Yeah, the big proponent of Heart of Forest. So yeah,
- 8:38Speaker 3: oh I'm puzzle aware this is coming.
- 8:40Speaker 2: I'm a big fan of Heart of the Forest. On
- 8:42Speaker 2: the opposite reason, right, So for all those like I
- 8:45Speaker 2: am a big proponent of KeyForge games taking like twenty
- 8:50Speaker 2: minutes ish, I'm only playing Heart of the Forest to
- 8:54Speaker 2: completely frustrate the person across the table from me.
- 8:58Speaker 3: I think I'm more at the lines of Wizard Random
- 9:01Speaker 3: and our our comments here. Alf and Omega aren't the
- 9:03Speaker 3: worst idea, and I do think it's intuitive. It's pretty
- 9:06Speaker 3: easy to actually come up with for game design. The
- 9:09Speaker 3: cards Alpha and Omega were applied to were pretty bad
- 9:12Speaker 3: though in general, so that I give credit to was
- 9:15Speaker 3: random on and.
- 9:15Speaker 2: I that's true. There needed to be a better like
- 9:18Speaker 2: if they were like really powerful, Yeah, I could I
- 9:22Speaker 2: could see them being like, yeah, okay, that's a thing
- 9:25Speaker 2: like Anta Scrapper. That's what I was thinking of, which
- 9:28Speaker 2: I did have for the deck I was playing.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Did you also forget to play that first.
- 9:36Speaker 2: I think one of the loops I did forget and
- 9:38Speaker 2: I was like, what, But it's not like I'm gonna
- 9:40Speaker 2: do any I'm just gonna discard them that he's five. Ever,
- 9:45Speaker 2: I'm like, I just gotta get the cards that I
- 9:48Speaker 2: want within the game, so discard play up doesn't matter.
- 9:51Speaker 2: I'm not gonna reap because then I'll have to get
- 9:54Speaker 2: back to five again. It was a weird. It was
- 9:59Speaker 2: a weird mm hmm.
- 10:02Speaker 3: Cheap. How are you playing in a bar?
- 10:05Speaker 4: I'm doing just fine. Having a little trouble getting my
- 10:07Speaker 4: game scheduled this week, but yeah, I'll figure it out.
- 10:12Speaker 4: But I think I only lost ones so far.
- 10:16Speaker 2: We can validate this hold on, doctor Sheep. You're three
- 10:20Speaker 2: and two.
- 10:23Speaker 3: Numbers in the New year. Boys, We're actually gonna have facts. Now.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Oh man, you lost let's be round four, round one,
- 10:33Speaker 2: so that means you lost what was that?
- 10:38Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, okay, So what what this What
- 10:41Speaker 3: this tells us Keyboards community is that you just have
- 10:44Speaker 3: to have a short term memory and forget your losses
- 10:48Speaker 3: and move on to all those victories, right sheep.
- 10:52Speaker 4: I mean like yeah, what I mean like it is
- 10:54Speaker 4: actually true keeping keeping yourself all tied up over the loss.
- 10:58Speaker 2: It happens, it's it's not worth it. Yeah, the the
- 11:03Speaker 2: old sor right, thanks to help him Pitch Yourself. I
- 11:08Speaker 2: got to relive my loss from gen Con thanks Sydney.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Oh oh, because of the help of Eat Yourself podcast
- 11:17Speaker 2: to drop. Yeah, yeah, that was a good episode. Yeah,
- 11:23Speaker 2: talking a battle is like, yeah, crush that wokie guy.
- 11:25Speaker 2: I loved it, all of it. It was great. But yeah,
- 11:31Speaker 2: the picture's amnesia. That is something that you should have,
- 11:35Speaker 2: right if you, uh, if you give up that home
- 11:38Speaker 2: run just you can't remember it, you gotta throw the
- 11:41Speaker 2: next pitch. Same thing, key Ford, you do something either
- 11:45Speaker 2: because you drew poorly or you played wrong or the
- 11:48Speaker 2: matchup was bad. Gotta have Arkan's amnesia go into the
- 11:53Speaker 2: next game.
- 11:55Speaker 3: Otherwise it'll lead to tilt, which was my first episode
- 11:58Speaker 3: many many many us ago. Hum hmm, speaking of eons ago,
- 12:05Speaker 3: boys and girls, prophetic visions, what's that? And game found
- 12:09Speaker 3: Pledge Manager is now live that we have finished, so
- 12:13Speaker 3: please go ahead and make sure you submit.
- 12:17Speaker 2: And make sure you do your home based stuff. Yeah,
- 12:21Speaker 2: a separate form home based and deck name. Go ahead,
- 12:27Speaker 2: you get it. Yeah, yeah, the deck name. Uh so,
- 12:32Speaker 2: if you got an order where you need to pick
- 12:34Speaker 2: an amazing deck name, go in and put Arcon's Corner
- 12:39Speaker 2: best podcast in that form field. Yeah, and uh you know,
- 12:46Speaker 2: or draw better. Maybe that's better. Just do draw better.
- 12:49Speaker 2: See let me draw better. Next we could have x
- 12:51Speaker 2: Ray sucks is always a classic. That is a classic.
- 12:55Speaker 3: You walk is my favorite podcast host. That's also pretty good.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Are you so? I think I own the only slow
- 13:00Speaker 2: walk slow deck right now. So you guys could all
- 13:03Speaker 2: go out and get slow walk slow decks. Mh but
- 13:07Speaker 2: then you might not have the best one in the
- 13:08Speaker 2: world anymore. Yeah's true. I think it's a ninety. It's pretty,
- 13:13Speaker 2: it's like almost good enough. It's it's almost just like everything.
- 13:20Speaker 5: But just like you know, so, I feel I feel
- 13:32Speaker 5: like that was a low, low vision to just to
- 13:36Speaker 5: just meash that pitch out of this park. It doesn't
- 13:43Speaker 5: you know what though, dress it doesn't matter this year
- 13:45Speaker 5: because for all of our vaults, first and second now
- 13:48Speaker 5: makes it in.
- 13:48Speaker 3: So we're good.
- 13:49Speaker 2: There you go, you're gonna do it.
- 13:51Speaker 3: Amnesia amnesia man, mm hmm.
- 13:55Speaker 4: So kryptonite my store is bad, so you can vote
- 14:01Speaker 4: for them. But I don't think I have any actual
- 14:04Speaker 4: local players to vote for me this time because.
- 14:09Speaker 2: The store we.
- 14:10Speaker 4: Play at has it. Chicago has them, so I won't
- 14:12Speaker 4: get to Chicago people like there's So if you're out
- 14:17Speaker 4: there you don't have a store vote for, you can
- 14:19Speaker 4: always vote for Kryptonite Collectibles of Janesville. Send me a
- 14:22Speaker 4: picture and when we actually know what we're getting, because
- 14:25Speaker 4: we don't know what having it this time even means help,
- 14:31Speaker 4: but it better be better than more just M plus anyway, Yeah,
- 14:39Speaker 4: put your vote over here by me, uh, and I
- 14:42Speaker 4: will be happy to hook you up with some of
- 14:44Speaker 4: whatever we get it what you know, whatever standard price
- 14:47Speaker 4: will be. So if you really got nowhere to vote for,
- 14:55Speaker 4: there's not store decks this time. Like the last two
- 14:59Speaker 4: ones you got store logo decks. It doesn't appear that
- 15:02Speaker 4: they're in the kits this year, so you're not going
- 15:03Speaker 4: to get store logo decks.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Wow, well you'll get so crucible clash. Right is the
- 15:08Speaker 2: uh is the thing? Right?
- 15:12Speaker 4: Is that the thing that's going to be based off
- 15:13Speaker 4: of votes.
- 15:15Speaker 2: While you get access to I don't know what you
- 15:17Speaker 2: get based off of votes. Question.
- 15:20Speaker 3: So all we can really go ahead and say is
- 15:23Speaker 3: a couple of things, one pledge manager for making sure
- 15:27Speaker 3: your shipping is up to date, adding any last minute
- 15:30Speaker 3: add ons, and home base is all due by Tuesday,
- 15:35Speaker 3: January twenty first at ten am Central time, so that
- 15:39Speaker 3: we do know as today's January ninth got a little
- 15:45Speaker 3: bit of time, but not a ton two, we know
- 15:49Speaker 3: that home base is not being taken care of by
- 15:53Speaker 3: the stores anymore. Correct, guys, unless I got that wrong.
- 15:58Speaker 3: The actual link it's self is on key forging dot
- 16:02Speaker 3: com and there is a spot for home base. It
- 16:06Speaker 3: has very very very little information if you back the
- 16:08Speaker 3: keyboardge Visions, uh Prophetic Visions game found campaign. Basically you're
- 16:14Speaker 3: going to fill in a couple of things and it
- 16:16Speaker 3: says for the same your name, email, your game pledge,
- 16:19Speaker 3: your game found pledge ID, and then the region and
- 16:24Speaker 3: from there then they have a whole listing kind of
- 16:27Speaker 3: by state, which for US and internationally there is different.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Uh you know, Australia, I can see what is there
- 16:36Speaker 3: for the game. Europe you can go ahead and see
- 16:38Speaker 3: the store. So I actually think the organization of that
- 16:41Speaker 3: is nice. It's a little sad for those stores that
- 16:44Speaker 3: didn't essentially sign up for it, but I feel the
- 16:52Speaker 3: process while it is bogged down in a little bit
- 16:55Speaker 3: cumbersome to get to hopefully it is us as is.
- 17:00Speaker 3: You know, people who've pledged, we can go out and
- 17:02Speaker 3: put that in pretty easily. So I know what's your thoughts?
- 17:05Speaker 2: Boys? Am I off? Yeah? I mean I am a
- 17:10Speaker 2: little like a little worried that it's uh going to
- 17:15Speaker 2: be forgotten a miss and because people are right, because
- 17:18Speaker 2: people are forgetting missing like I yeah, So hopefully hopefully
- 17:23Speaker 2: people are able to order their stuff, get get something
- 17:26Speaker 2: cool and and it'll be good.
- 17:30Speaker 3: As to what coolness it is, we have no idea. Yeah,
- 17:38Speaker 3: but tell us communicate, have that plan in place.
- 17:42Speaker 2: That's a good thing. That's next week, that's not this week.
- 17:46Speaker 3: That's right, because we did go ahead and get some
- 17:51Speaker 3: feedback that you know, we were way too positive and.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know, I don't know what episode that
- 17:56Speaker 2: was on. I mean maybe we were positive for a
- 17:58Speaker 2: little bit. Well, so there was a specific comment that
- 18:05Speaker 2: we weren't giving gg hard enough time about op support.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Just you wait till next week.
- 18:13Speaker 3: Well, when you set the bar so low that you
- 18:19Speaker 3: step over it instead of riding under it.
- 18:23Speaker 2: Yeah, sometimes in this game, I feel like I have
- 18:26Speaker 2: a little touch of the Stockholm syndrome, right, like you
- 18:31Speaker 2: start identifying with your captain already investment. We're just sticking
- 18:34Speaker 2: with it. I'm I'm just here to the wheels fall off.
- 18:40Speaker 2: It's any day now, I think.
- 18:43Speaker 3: No, no, there's there are some things and we have
- 18:45Speaker 3: our top five moments.
- 18:47Speaker 2: But we want to talk about the top five things,
- 18:51Speaker 2: not moments, top five things. He Ford related in twenty
- 18:56Speaker 2: twenty four. Well, moments is like fiky two Wookie took
- 19:01Speaker 2: uh second place at Nationals. Like that's a moment, right,
- 19:05Speaker 2: this is this is yeah, now, mind you, we connected eyes.
- 19:13Speaker 2: But mind you, these are no specific order. These are
- 19:17Speaker 2: just five things that we found to be extraordinarily positive
- 19:21Speaker 2: and uplifting and knowing this cast, I'm sure we'll find
- 19:25Speaker 2: a way to fuck it all up.
- 19:28Speaker 3: I think I think that we started this one that's
- 19:30Speaker 3: highlighted here with.
- 19:31Speaker 2: So speaking of home bases last year for US, the
- 19:35Speaker 2: home base program was a big positive for us. We
- 19:41Speaker 2: enjoyed it. I enjoyed the decks, I enjoyed the pins
- 19:44Speaker 2: on my mat. I like all the things about the
- 19:46Speaker 2: home base program. I guess we kind of had a
- 19:51Speaker 2: little extra because Sheep is a Sheep is a store,
- 19:56Speaker 2: but the Kryptio Collectibles that is what runs the event
- 20:03Speaker 2: that Sheep runs every Sunday. Yeah, come play with this online.
- 20:08Speaker 4: Well back when it had to be sponsored by a store, yes.
- 20:11Speaker 2: Right, why were you still the deck? If you come
- 20:14Speaker 2: and buy a deck, it's still through that right, So yeah, yes.
- 20:16Speaker 4: Yep, that is the retail account that buys the decks.
- 20:20Speaker 3: But I don't know, I think it goes a little
- 20:22Speaker 3: bit more beyond that though. Boys like the idea to
- 20:25Speaker 3: have pride in our stores. We see when we go
- 20:27Speaker 3: to vaults people representing different stores in different regions with
- 20:31Speaker 3: essentially jerseys or shirts that come from those stores, and
- 20:35Speaker 3: I like that Gigi actually leaned into it. I thought
- 20:38Speaker 3: the pins, that the home base pins were really snazzy.
- 20:41Speaker 3: I thought it was a really nice touch, and I
- 20:43Speaker 3: will tell you, I think that that actually brought people
- 20:47Speaker 3: into the game found campaign game found campaign for amber
- 20:52Speaker 3: Sky's where other game founds didn't have that. And frankly,
- 20:57Speaker 3: it wasn't always like there were reasons not to necessarily back,
- 21:01Speaker 3: and we've seen a decrease, but I do think the
- 21:04Speaker 3: home base process and kind of that implementation really really
- 21:09Speaker 3: was pretty cool. So I thought that they started off
- 21:11Speaker 3: in the right path, and I enjoyed that.
- 21:13Speaker 2: I did like that. You know, they were saying, effectively, hey,
- 21:17Speaker 2: we have to do game found but we know that
- 21:21Speaker 2: stories are important, so we're gonna do this thing. We're
- 21:24Speaker 2: going to try to make it cool. Now, how cool?
- 21:27Speaker 2: Was it?
- 21:27Speaker 3: Right?
- 21:27Speaker 4: You know?
- 21:28Speaker 2: But I did think it was. It was a thrust
- 21:33Speaker 2: in the right direction and some of the aspects of
- 21:36Speaker 2: it were cool. So hopefully it continues to improve. Hopefully.
- 21:48Speaker 2: I feel like we've taken a step back this year
- 21:50Speaker 2: in that area. But I mean, maybe it turns out
- 21:54Speaker 2: really really Maybe we don't know, but we we all
- 22:00Speaker 2: enjoyed the home Base program number four. I'm going out
- 22:05Speaker 2: on a limb here. Grim Reminders, Baby, Grimm Reminders, best set.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Grimm Reminders awesome, A Grimm Reminders fantastic. Everything about Grim
- 22:16Speaker 2: Reminders was absolutely awesome. This is the set. I'm just
- 22:21Speaker 2: gonna say it right here. After WHOA, I was pretty
- 22:23Speaker 2: down on key Forge as a whole. I wasn't enjoying
- 22:27Speaker 2: playing it anymore. I wasn't enjoying doing a lot of
- 22:30Speaker 2: things in the key Forge land with woe. Then Grimm
- 22:33Speaker 2: Reminders came out and I went Holy Banana Ramas and
- 22:36Speaker 2: knocked my socks off. I loved Grimm Reminders. We need
- 22:40Speaker 2: more of sets like that, sets where it makes me
- 22:44Speaker 2: feel like I have a chance even though I don't,
- 22:46Speaker 2: but make me feel like I have a chance, you know.
- 22:52Speaker 2: I mean the vast majority of the cards and everything
- 22:59Speaker 2: going on in Grim Reminders is a ton of fun
- 23:04Speaker 2: and there's there's a lot to like. Yes, there's a
- 23:11Speaker 2: couple of problematic things, which is probably what some of
- 23:14Speaker 2: you listening are are what, But I mean almost all
- 23:23Speaker 2: sealed experiences that I've had in gr have been great,
- 23:29Speaker 2: and I would say most of the ARCon experiences have
- 23:33Speaker 2: been great as well, So I mean that's that's pretty good.
- 23:36Speaker 2: I overall liked it. Astros.
- 23:40Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that Grim Reminders, for me, allowed individuals
- 23:44Speaker 3: to be able to enter the game and you had
- 23:47Speaker 3: a competitive deck at a much higher rate, and I
- 23:50Speaker 3: think that was important for I think it's important for GIG.
- 23:55Speaker 3: I think that there have been some decks that have
- 23:58Speaker 3: been carried along for very very very long period of time,
- 24:02Speaker 3: and I mean we saw it on the vault to
- 24:05Speaker 3: our scene. Groom Reminders just absolutely destroyed things that we
- 24:10Speaker 3: had seen Woe kind of taking over that you're talking about.
- 24:13Speaker 2: This is nothing new, like Woe did the same thing, right, No, No, but.
- 24:18Speaker 3: I'm saying what I'm saying before before that you hadn't
- 24:22Speaker 3: really seen a lot of our vaults, being a number
- 24:27Speaker 3: of the same decks continued to show up and so whoa,
- 24:31Speaker 3: there was that early transition. I mean, if we really
- 24:33Speaker 3: look at the Philly Vault tour, you still had people
- 24:37Speaker 3: kind of holding on to some of the older decks,
- 24:38Speaker 3: and as as the twenty twenty three season kind of
- 24:41Speaker 3: took over, you could see that WOA really increased and
- 24:45Speaker 3: increased and increased, and then when we got to twenty
- 24:49Speaker 3: twenty four, you're really looking at Grim Reminders saying, yeah,
- 24:53Speaker 3: what you have for Woe, we can go out and
- 24:55Speaker 3: up the ante. So I do appreciate that X had
- 25:00Speaker 3: a little bit more meaning you had a higher chance
- 25:02Speaker 3: at being able to pull something that was fire. And
- 25:04Speaker 3: that's that's that's interesting to me, and it was fun
- 25:07Speaker 3: to be able to play with. There was some interesting
- 25:11Speaker 3: ideas behind Grimm Reminders. I will say that it did
- 25:15Speaker 3: fall into a couple of different archetypes and they became
- 25:18Speaker 3: very repetitive and very easy to see and it did
- 25:21Speaker 3: become one dimensional in my opinion, But I hear what
- 25:25Speaker 3: you're saying for Grimm Reminders as a whole, to be
- 25:28Speaker 3: able to push.
- 25:28Speaker 2: Weird is the one dimensional that we were all heading into.
- 25:32Speaker 2: Like that's not even what one that's not even what
- 25:36Speaker 2: took it.
- 25:39Speaker 3: Just saying I mean playing playing a same like being
- 25:43Speaker 3: able to eliminate a house, so because that that's really
- 25:48Speaker 3: what we're we're at. If you can, if you can
- 25:50Speaker 3: go ahead and whittle down immediately to two houses instead
- 25:53Speaker 3: of three, that's a win.
- 25:55Speaker 2: Yes, But I feel like every card in Grimm Reminders
- 25:59Speaker 2: had a four are Like, it never felt like I
- 26:02Speaker 2: was playing like a dead card. I felt like every
- 26:06Speaker 2: card I played had an impact and had I had
- 26:09Speaker 2: a change on the game.
- 26:11Speaker 5: Very rare.
- 26:12Speaker 2: Did you play well besides Tutor Ben. If you're playing
- 26:15Speaker 2: Tutor Ben Rylo, you're you know, I would I would
- 26:21Speaker 2: tell you in your Life Choices if you're playing Tutor
- 26:24Speaker 2: Ben Rylo, Right, but I mean that's me. But you know,
- 26:29Speaker 2: very few cards in there was it like, oh, man,
- 26:32Speaker 2: like I'm just playing garbage for garbage sake, right, Yeah.
- 26:37Speaker 2: Most of the carpool was was good and enjoyable and
- 26:44Speaker 2: there was only a couple stinkers. You have to have
- 26:47Speaker 2: some stinkers, right, Yes, I don't in this game. Well
- 26:51Speaker 2: the bin Rylo was a little too bad, right, but
- 26:54Speaker 2: I don't know if you stayed good in certain moments.
- 26:58Speaker 2: I just I under I wonder right, because we talk
- 27:03Speaker 2: about the theory of card gaming and we're like, oh,
- 27:05Speaker 2: you got to have bad cards. Do you have to
- 27:07Speaker 2: have bad cards in the game where everything is procedurally generated?
- 27:15Speaker 3: Yes?
- 27:16Speaker 2: Why? Well, what is what is the game design philosophy
- 27:20Speaker 2: behind figuring out so not necessarily terrible cards, but cards
- 27:25Speaker 2: that are only good situationally. Figuring out how to take
- 27:28Speaker 2: great advantage of those situational cards is a lot of fun,
- 27:33Speaker 2: especially calling them.
- 27:36Speaker 3: But it shows the strategy that's there. And so what
- 27:42Speaker 3: we're trying to be able to show is that a
- 27:44Speaker 3: good player will rise to the top versus just having
- 27:48Speaker 3: good cards.
- 27:49Speaker 2: That's not how this game operates, no, it is it
- 27:51Speaker 2: is a good player just doesn't play the bad cards. Now, no, no, no,
- 27:57Speaker 2: because you cannot hand pick every card your deck, Like
- 28:01Speaker 2: even the best decks have some less than amazing cards
- 28:06Speaker 2: that that's still pretty interesting. Every single fraud is amazing.
- 28:12Speaker 2: I would say yes, if we didn't have Sealed the
- 28:15Speaker 2: Lions and that wasn't our main form of playing things. Now,
- 28:19Speaker 2: well that's the you know, if it was if it
- 28:22Speaker 2: was back to OG's Sealed right where you got to
- 28:25Speaker 2: pick a deck and like you had to choose it. Yeah, yeah,
- 28:29Speaker 2: now that that shows the player skill. But now it's
- 28:31Speaker 2: Sealed the Lions where you get three you can just
- 28:33Speaker 2: avoid Tutor Ben Rilo in the ILK all together. Yeah.
- 28:40Speaker 2: I'm not necessarily talking about Tutor beIN Rylo because I
- 28:42Speaker 2: think that's just a bad card. But cards like so,
- 28:49Speaker 2: the Sting has been a card that people have been
- 28:52Speaker 2: using this week in this the Key of Darkness matchup. Right,
- 28:56Speaker 2: The Sting is a very weird card that at can
- 29:01Speaker 2: actually can be very bad for you, but can be
- 29:02Speaker 2: very good for you. That is a lot of fun
- 29:05Speaker 2: to play, now, is it.
- 29:09Speaker 4: Favorite cards are bad cards?
- 29:11Speaker 2: Well yeah, pester Grove and Pester Grove and Heart of
- 29:17Speaker 2: the Forest or cards they just you don't like, oh narp, Yeah,
- 29:24Speaker 2: is an inside joke and if you don't get it,
- 29:25Speaker 2: that's cool. Bro a bone saw right, well ready bone
- 29:31Speaker 2: saw is ready, like you know, I mean bad cards.
- 29:38Speaker 2: My favorite cards are all memes. What does people what
- 29:41Speaker 2: do people don't understand? Yeah, I think it's good. I
- 29:46Speaker 2: think we should have those cards.
- 29:48Speaker 3: So let me tackle this a little bit different, Tres.
- 29:52Speaker 3: If everything is an A plus card, then that means
- 29:57Speaker 3: that essentially you're negating your previous card or they're not
- 30:01Speaker 3: all A pluses, so they're comparatively being rated, and we
- 30:05Speaker 3: have to keep that in mind. And so that's what
- 30:07Speaker 3: he's talking about for the situational play, is that by
- 30:10Speaker 3: putting in some cards that have at different rarities a
- 30:14Speaker 3: higher occurrence of having a larger impact on the game.
- 30:18Speaker 3: That is what we like to be able to see,
- 30:20Speaker 3: so that the pilots or the person who's going ahead
- 30:23Speaker 3: and running the deck can show a better understanding. And
- 30:27Speaker 3: when you see someone who takes the same deck that
- 30:29Speaker 3: you've gone ahead and piloted, they can go ahead and
- 30:33Speaker 3: show you maybe something different or new. A number of
- 30:36Speaker 3: players really like that, others don't. But that has to
- 30:40Speaker 3: be kept in mind. Is there's something to be gained
- 30:42Speaker 3: by different experiences, different play styles and how people are
- 30:45Speaker 3: interpreting and using the cards.
- 30:51Speaker 2: There all right, Sheep wanted us to add this one
- 30:55Speaker 2: in the theory behind and sheep.
- 31:02Speaker 4: Yeah, as on the home base thing like that M
- 31:07Speaker 4: plus was going to be part of the home base,
- 31:10Speaker 4: and it got people to back and vote, and people
- 31:14Speaker 4: voted for some you know, like people voted for Kryptonite
- 31:20Speaker 4: although they don't plan it because they knew I would
- 31:22Speaker 4: sell them the M plus, right, because yeah, and the
- 31:27Speaker 4: so like. It did definitely bring people in, like I
- 31:30Speaker 4: back just so we'd have a vote. And what they
- 31:35Speaker 4: did there, the way they repackaged that in advertising was
- 31:41Speaker 4: very very popular. Right, that was a very good idea.
- 31:47Speaker 4: Next week we'll cover this again on the execution of that.
- 31:51Speaker 4: But the idea was amazing, Like, it was a fantastic idea.
- 31:57Speaker 4: It really did bring people and people were exc people
- 32:00Speaker 4: are interested. Uh, and that's you know what's this home base.
- 32:07Speaker 2: All right?
- 32:08Speaker 4: The theory of M plus the remix of a set,
- 32:12Speaker 4: not Discovery where where I'm not sure what kind of
- 32:17Speaker 4: remix we're getting, but yeah, like a lot of us
- 32:21Speaker 4: have talked her. I know we've talked about it on
- 32:23Speaker 4: the cast here before that you know, coder remastered would
- 32:27Speaker 4: be good and not getting rid of control of the
- 32:31Speaker 4: week and the good cards in it because they didn't
- 32:34Speaker 4: take anything out that we can tell with M plus
- 32:37Speaker 4: like they didn't go. Oh well, they don't need any
- 32:39Speaker 4: mark of distance furnaces. You can still get piles of
- 32:41Speaker 4: them and M plus, which is good.
- 32:45Speaker 2: Yep, alrighty uh. Next thing we have on our list
- 32:51Speaker 2: deck accolades and deck clones. I think everyone was in
- 32:55Speaker 2: agrance that this was a very happy time. We can accolade.
- 33:00Speaker 2: This is a really cool idea. Yeah, if you have
- 33:03Speaker 2: any I don't. Yeah, well, also I do wish, So
- 33:07Speaker 2: I think they should open it up a little more,
- 33:11Speaker 2: right if you made a top eight, you know, crack
- 33:16Speaker 2: that open, right, man.
- 33:20Speaker 4: The the extra cost of a taking the digital top
- 33:26Speaker 4: top two or whatever and then our top four and
- 33:30Speaker 4: then just changing it to an eight, right and attaching it,
- 33:34Speaker 4: like the cost of a digital image and tracking seems
- 33:38Speaker 4: super low. But the potential income from more reprints, Yeah,
- 33:44Speaker 4: I wonder. I wonder how much they actually make on
- 33:47Speaker 4: a reprint to know if it's worth them investing any
- 33:51Speaker 4: effort in it.
- 33:52Speaker 2: Wow, So I think it's there's there's probably a little
- 33:57Speaker 2: bit to be made, but not a massive amount. But
- 34:00Speaker 2: I think it could generate more excitement, right, if you
- 34:02Speaker 2: can generate more ways to generate those accolades. Right, so
- 34:08Speaker 2: once they actually in twenty twenty seven, once play style
- 34:11Speaker 2: is actually available for use, right is that a made
- 34:16Speaker 2: up number? Or yes? Is that the number that we're
- 34:20Speaker 2: going with? There? You go, so uh like, hey, if
- 34:27Speaker 2: you bring your deck to the store at least X
- 34:31Speaker 2: number of times you get some accolade, right, Like people
- 34:36Speaker 2: would go, I think, and bring that deck and play
- 34:39Speaker 2: it multiple times to get that accolade, like I think, like,
- 34:44Speaker 2: I think, so you then get that deck that you
- 34:46Speaker 2: really like. That says like, you know, played at whatever
- 34:51Speaker 2: the name of your store is.
- 34:52Speaker 4: Right now, that seems well, I guess if they can,
- 34:55Speaker 4: they'd have to have some way to almost ai that
- 34:58Speaker 4: or you know, well just.
- 34:59Speaker 2: Just it has to be a certain number of characters
- 35:01Speaker 2: and when you know, you set up the whatever in
- 35:03Speaker 2: play style, it has that number of characters, right, Like
- 35:06Speaker 2: you could programmatize that. Right, So it's worse that that
- 35:11Speaker 2: seems like a lot. I'm not gonna lie to that,
- 35:13Speaker 2: doesn't Like I think that if a deck wins a
- 35:21Speaker 2: Star Championship, I don't know if that was on there.
- 35:24Speaker 2: I don't think it was. But if it wins a
- 35:25Speaker 2: Star Championship, that would be a nice app Yeah it is.
- 35:29Speaker 4: The Star Championships give accolades.
- 35:31Speaker 2: They give accolades now, yeah, I didn't think they did
- 35:34Speaker 2: it originally, but you know.
- 35:36Speaker 4: They are supposed to this season.
- 35:39Speaker 2: Even like your local stuff, Like if you could get
- 35:42Speaker 2: an accolade with it, I think that'd be cool. Yeah,
- 35:47Speaker 2: like just generate more reasons for people to want to
- 35:52Speaker 2: reprint their decks with those cool things on it and
- 35:54Speaker 2: show them off. Absolutely, I mean I think also, you
- 36:01Speaker 2: know I have I have a deck that's a French
- 36:02Speaker 2: I now have two clones of it. Somehow I ordered two.
- 36:08Speaker 2: It's also did you get charge? I did? H Well,
- 36:14Speaker 2: all right, I have one for me and one for
- 36:16Speaker 2: e Wok because Ewok also wanted a copy, so now
- 36:18Speaker 2: I could share with a friend. There you go.
- 36:22Speaker 4: I'll say this was also like the top delivered promise
- 36:27Speaker 4: right for gig.
- 36:31Speaker 2: And the way they did it was pretty classy, right
- 36:34Speaker 2: like at the event being at KFC being like and
- 36:38Speaker 2: it works right now? Yeah, like heades, but here's here's
- 36:43Speaker 2: the deal. They had promised that the year previous too.
- 36:47Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, but but I I yeah, and it's available now,
- 36:55Speaker 2: Like that was good. That was good. That was a
- 36:57Speaker 2: good recovery.
- 36:59Speaker 4: Yeah, they did.
- 37:00Speaker 2: They did.
- 37:00Speaker 4: Okay here, that's why it's on this list of the
- 37:02Speaker 4: top five things for for last year. No, because it
- 37:08Speaker 4: was that was well done. We'll see all fleshed out
- 37:13Speaker 4: it becomes, or if it is just kind of a
- 37:17Speaker 4: couple things here and.
- 37:18Speaker 2: There, interesting, we'll have to wait and see. Right. Yeah,
- 37:25Speaker 2: but one thing I think everyone can sit and say, yep,
- 37:30Speaker 2: that was on ten percent the best thing that Gigi
- 37:34Speaker 2: did in twenty twenty four, the Mars Civil War event.
- 37:39Speaker 2: I don't know who came up with fit at gig,
- 37:42Speaker 2: but bravo to whoever did it. That's off. I took
- 37:46Speaker 2: my hat to you because not only I mean that
- 37:48Speaker 2: brought people into the stores, it really did. That was
- 37:52Speaker 2: the first thing, the first time I can ever say
- 37:57Speaker 2: that somebody was like, I'm here to play key Forge
- 37:59Speaker 2: and we're like, who the hell are you? And they're like, well,
- 38:02Speaker 2: we've heard, we heard about this Civil War thing and
- 38:06Speaker 2: I found I went and I looked for a place
- 38:10Speaker 2: to play it and I found one and now now
- 38:12Speaker 2: I'm here.
- 38:14Speaker 3: Well, but part of it was new cards, well known
- 38:18Speaker 3: competition of the two different sides, you have an impact
- 38:21Speaker 3: on storyline coming forward, but also there was a game
- 38:25Speaker 3: store finder, Like, that's important if we want to find
- 38:30Speaker 3: a game that we are interested into play, I can
- 38:34Speaker 3: bug other people who are in the store. But if
- 38:37Speaker 3: there are people who can find the game, who see
- 38:40Speaker 3: it through any advertising from social media, from us, from
- 38:45Speaker 3: GG that game found, that game finder is extremely important
- 38:49Speaker 3: in my opinion.
- 38:51Speaker 2: And I think that could be fleshed out to just
- 38:53Speaker 2: local play. I don't. I don't see why that isn't
- 38:57Speaker 2: kind of taken care of. Why there isn't a gate,
- 38:59Speaker 2: Like didn't f f G used to have that, didn't
- 39:03Speaker 2: they They'd be like, hey, find out where to play?
- 39:06Speaker 2: They had they had a store like most most friends.
- 39:10Speaker 4: Have a store finder, and gigis multiple times done maps
- 39:16Speaker 4: for events and stores who have back things, so they
- 39:18Speaker 4: they have stuff.
- 39:19Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's not I mean, it's not as.
- 39:23Speaker 4: Fleshed out as just a simple storefinder click. But they
- 39:26Speaker 4: they have been making improvements towards that.
- 39:30Speaker 2: Baby steps, right, we got to walk before we can run, right.
- 39:34Speaker 3: But it was there for the Mars event, correct, correct?
- 39:38Speaker 2: I believe? So? Yes, No, not everybody at once.
- 39:46Speaker 4: I don't remember. Turns out I already know where I'm playing,
- 39:51Speaker 4: so I don't ever look.
- 39:53Speaker 2: I'm certainly it was, but I thought with uh, yeah,
- 40:00Speaker 2: nothing's changing in twenty twenty five, We're still going to
- 40:03Speaker 2: make things up. Who are you kidding? You can always
- 40:07Speaker 2: look for better, all right.
- 40:09Speaker 3: We made it a few minutes.
- 40:10Speaker 2: We need to just you know, get back in the
- 40:12Speaker 2: groove of things, right. But I thought that was one
- 40:16Speaker 2: of the biggest things I loved the Mars Civil War.
- 40:18Speaker 2: I had fun with it. I think, you know, I
- 40:20Speaker 2: attended multiple you know, we went all the way to
- 40:25Speaker 2: Sanctum Gaming down is that in Racine? Yep, yeah, man, Racine,
- 40:31Speaker 2: just to play some key Forge like total fun. I
- 40:34Speaker 2: had a blast. I hope we have it again this
- 40:36Speaker 2: year because it was it was worth it. Yeah.
- 40:40Speaker 3: I think it was fun because it was at There
- 40:43Speaker 3: are different sides that I could go out and play.
- 40:46Speaker 3: You could be passionate about one siding, you know, asked
- 40:49Speaker 3: to be able to play repeatedly. It's a little bit
- 40:53Speaker 3: of a bummer that the cards, because they're only part
- 40:57Speaker 3: of a deck, that you can't actually play them after words.
- 41:00Speaker 3: But that really didn't detract from me, and I think
- 41:03Speaker 3: that's what surprised me most. I this is like the
- 41:06Speaker 3: old store champs and kind of FFG days where you
- 41:10Speaker 3: went from store to store for more primes. It was
- 41:15Speaker 3: a lot of fun to be able to travel and
- 41:16Speaker 3: to spend time with people just playing keyboards and talking keyboards.
- 41:19Speaker 2: I missed those primes. Primes were a lot of fun.
- 41:22Speaker 3: Yeah, But I think that's what the event was similar to,
- 41:25Speaker 3: and so that's why I really think that it was
- 41:28Speaker 3: a blast for me.
- 41:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I can agree with that. But let's get into
- 41:33Speaker 2: I think we all kind of unanimously voted on this one.
- 41:36Speaker 2: Was the Vault Tours this year and the continuation of
- 41:39Speaker 2: Vault Tours. No money this year for Vault Tours. We'll
- 41:43Speaker 2: talk about that next week, but just the fact that
- 41:47Speaker 2: they were continue Yeah, prizes in general, but just the
- 41:51Speaker 2: fact that we continued with Vault Tours. I mean, they're
- 41:55Speaker 2: in game stores now. I don't knowder you put this
- 41:59Speaker 2: in here, you walk wise, I mean you put it
- 42:02Speaker 2: in like Vault Tours and game stores. I don't know
- 42:05Speaker 2: if I necessarily consider that a highlight. Oh yeah, a
- 42:10Speaker 2: low white. But what's your thought process there?
- 42:14Speaker 3: I think that Vaulteurs being at game stores this is
- 42:18Speaker 3: a this is a really important step for us to
- 42:20Speaker 3: have those connections. I think that instead of it being
- 42:24Speaker 3: at some of the major cons. This allows it to
- 42:28Speaker 3: be more of a keyboard centric event that's happening. And
- 42:32Speaker 3: when you go to a larger store and all of
- 42:36Speaker 3: a sudden, we have, you know, fifty seventy five, one
- 42:39Speaker 3: hundred people that are showing up for different items or
- 42:42Speaker 3: different events, all of a sudden, your ears kind of
- 42:45Speaker 3: peak up. And so I think that it draws from
- 42:48Speaker 3: the local community, which is what I was initially anticipating
- 42:51Speaker 3: seeing the game store idea, but it also gets others
- 42:56Speaker 3: who may not be ready to commit to something a
- 42:59Speaker 3: little bit larger merger, and it got people interested, so
- 43:03Speaker 3: you're kind of peeking over, oh, what's happening over there,
- 43:06Speaker 3: And I think the Mars event did that slightly, but
- 43:09Speaker 3: I think being in stores really helped to solidify it.
- 43:11Speaker 3: I think that you had individual flare from the different
- 43:15Speaker 3: vaults based on where they were, and there's a lot
- 43:17Speaker 3: of pride in the game stores. I also think that
- 43:20Speaker 3: it offers different options where you know, when we go
- 43:27Speaker 3: over to Roseville, you're restricted by a game center what
- 43:30Speaker 3: time we have to be able to get out, and
- 43:33Speaker 3: that's partially what we're seeing here for the game stores.
- 43:36Speaker 3: But it has I don't know, you get your sleeves there,
- 43:39Speaker 3: and there's just a different community vibe, and so I
- 43:43Speaker 3: thought it was really important that we were at game stores.
- 43:46Speaker 3: I like to build that long term. I thought this
- 43:48Speaker 3: was a huge step in the right direction for getting
- 43:51Speaker 3: out into more of a local organized play system versus
- 43:58Speaker 3: something that's a little bit larger. And that sounds weird
- 44:00Speaker 3: because it's vaults, right, that's not your local organized play.
- 44:03Speaker 3: But if I can connect with stores for going ahead
- 44:07Speaker 3: and setting up a larger event and we can house
- 44:09Speaker 3: that more appropriately than just in a hotel, I think
- 44:13Speaker 3: that it shows other stores that maybe I can go
- 44:17Speaker 3: ahead and connect over with my store in the future,
- 44:19Speaker 3: or maybe I can go ahead and pull my local
- 44:21Speaker 3: community in. So that's that's why I put it on.
- 44:24Speaker 3: I think that was really important.
- 44:26Speaker 2: Yeah, Wizard Random says that he agrees with you in
- 44:29Speaker 2: no US nationals in twenty twenty five is a good call.
- 44:35Speaker 2: I don't really I didn't really feel like one way
- 44:37Speaker 2: or the other on it. Not having a gen con
- 44:42Speaker 2: might have been even better, right, because I mean, at
- 44:46Speaker 2: that point it is just it's just sort of saying, hey,
- 44:48Speaker 2: we got vaults, and vaults are a lot of fun,
- 44:51Speaker 2: So I think I think that's fine, right, Like, yeah,
- 44:54Speaker 2: I mean we had a blast at Nationals. I don't
- 44:57Speaker 2: know about you guys. I had fun. I think, well,
- 44:59Speaker 2: E walk my not ahead fun, you've had fun.
- 45:03Speaker 3: I had fun. I guess my question really comes down
- 45:05Speaker 3: to when we look at what's the difference, what's the
- 45:09Speaker 3: difference that we're seeing a separation between nationals and vaults?
- 45:15Speaker 2: And I don't know if any of us could have
- 45:16Speaker 2: honestly answered that question.
- 45:19Speaker 4: Well, and I think that's exactly what they said. Their
- 45:21Speaker 4: thing is there isn't enough difference between nationals and vaults to.
- 45:28Speaker 3: Segregate them, right, And I think that that's really all
- 45:31Speaker 3: that needs to be stated, is it's just.
- 45:34Speaker 4: A little lower barrier for somebody who wants to run
- 45:37Speaker 4: an event to do it Nationals than a vault in
- 45:40Speaker 4: a foreign country. But having probably a significantly lower barrier
- 45:46Speaker 4: to run.
- 45:48Speaker 2: But having it at gen Con was kind of rough, right,
- 45:52Speaker 2: I mean saying lower barrier fine, but like for US nation.
- 45:57Speaker 4: Choice, Yeah, I think that was you know, as tradition
- 46:03Speaker 4: is basically what put it there, not you know, not
- 46:09Speaker 4: not logic.
- 46:11Speaker 2: Yeah, because I mean that that put a much bigger
- 46:13Speaker 2: barrier because of how much money it was costing to right, So,
- 46:21Speaker 2: I mean the only thing I could. I'm not even
- 46:23Speaker 2: gonna say that because I already know the answers. No,
- 46:25Speaker 2: So I don't even know why i'd like get my
- 46:26Speaker 2: hopes up. I was just saying Adeptacon, where it all
- 46:30Speaker 2: began so many years ago.
- 46:33Speaker 3: Well, a Deepticon actually is moving back, moving back to Milwaukee. Yeah,
- 46:36Speaker 3: they all grew their space.
- 46:39Speaker 2: Which is weird. They outgrew their space and then they
- 46:41Speaker 2: moved to Milwaukee as opposed Illinois.
- 46:46Speaker 3: Has. Milwaukee has a larger gaming space. You got a
- 46:50Speaker 3: picture that gen Con was was housed in before it
- 46:54Speaker 3: was in Indianapolis was a Midwest Express center for years,
- 46:58Speaker 3: and so with that we have this space. You also,
- 47:03Speaker 3: there's just a different cost for parking in hotels in
- 47:07Speaker 3: Milwaukee does offer that next step off.
- 47:09Speaker 2: But regardless, I kind of figured Chicago would offer the
- 47:13Speaker 2: next step up. But maybe they don't need something that big.
- 47:17Speaker 2: But yeah, maybe it was a price thing I couldn't
- 47:19Speaker 2: tell you. Yeah, let's see what else we got in
- 47:25Speaker 2: here and that. Oh so you guys put we did
- 47:29Speaker 2: talk a little bit about KFC that the KFC had
- 47:32Speaker 2: extended into more of an experience as well.
- 47:37Speaker 3: It's an extra day.
- 47:39Speaker 2: It's an extra day. But like, there were other things
- 47:41Speaker 2: to do, right. There were community led events, which is
- 47:44Speaker 2: something we didn't get to see before. I mean, we
- 47:47Speaker 2: had the podcasters panel, which is something that really wasn't
- 47:51Speaker 2: done before. I would have liked to see some of
- 47:54Speaker 2: these things put on a little bit grander of a
- 47:56Speaker 2: scale as opposed to like CITs were awesome. You know,
- 48:01Speaker 2: the creator cards are great. I had fun with those.
- 48:04Speaker 2: But I'm just saying, like, you know, if you're gonna run,
- 48:09Speaker 2: you know, we we had Shredder and we ended in
- 48:11Speaker 2: the last day, and you know, there was what was
- 48:15Speaker 2: else something related it down doing that, but like it
- 48:20Speaker 2: was all kind of a side note as opposed to
- 48:22Speaker 2: like part of the experience. I think maybe I don't
- 48:26Speaker 2: know a lot of people participated. I I like a
- 48:31Speaker 2: lot of people were doing a lot of stuff right,
- 48:32Speaker 2: So so I thought that they're pretty much everything that well.
- 48:41Speaker 2: I guess I don't know all the things. I guess
- 48:43Speaker 2: if there was stuff that wasn't well attended, I wasn't
- 48:45Speaker 2: aware of it. So I guess maybe I shouldn't say
- 48:47Speaker 2: everything was done. But there was definitely things going on
- 48:50Speaker 2: that a number of people went to right, so.
- 48:56Speaker 4: A more dedicated area with I don't know, somewhat clearer
- 49:05Speaker 4: signage because I mean it was in our it was
- 49:07Speaker 4: definitely in our pamphlet, handout, flyer program, whatever set.
- 49:13Speaker 2: Of words, but.
- 49:18Speaker 4: You didn't really realize it was going on unless you
- 49:21Speaker 4: went and looked for it.
- 49:23Speaker 3: I mean, for the podcast panel it was announced. I
- 49:27Speaker 3: went then back and shouted it out, and not everyone
- 49:30Speaker 3: is willing to be able to do that. I will say,
- 49:33Speaker 3: as I am presently in the process of running a
- 49:36Speaker 3: very large men's event. That's one of the big tricks, boys,
- 49:41Speaker 3: is where do we have space?
- 49:44Speaker 2: So if you look at the.
- 49:45Speaker 3: Game center, I do agree with you sheep, I think
- 49:48Speaker 3: signage could have been important. I think that would have helped.
- 49:51Speaker 3: But we were inside rooms. We were in the other room,
- 49:56Speaker 3: and there's still a gaming facility that others are attending
- 49:59Speaker 3: who aren't part of this event, and so that's where
- 50:03Speaker 3: it becomes. The trick is, okay, what rooms are actually available.
- 50:06Speaker 3: I think they did the best that they could, but
- 50:08Speaker 3: in regards to spacing and room size, I just don't
- 50:12Speaker 3: know where else we could really go unless you're outside
- 50:15Speaker 3: of Game Center. But I do like the idea of
- 50:18Speaker 3: adding on to that with signage like here's signage would
- 50:21Speaker 3: would help.
- 50:22Speaker 4: It was a little weird than losing half the the
- 50:26Speaker 4: one game space is dedicated to them.
- 50:31Speaker 3: That's pretty much took it over on Sunday.
- 50:34Speaker 4: Yeah, well we probably struck it over the whole weekend,
- 50:36Speaker 4: but it was not dedicated to us, and there were
- 50:38Speaker 4: other games and non keyboards people in the space.
- 50:44Speaker 2: This is true Saturday, I know, Saturday and Friday there's
- 50:47Speaker 2: there's plenty of non Keyfarde going on, so I mean,
- 50:51Speaker 2: it wasn't dedicants. Well, plus we had write the Scrubs
- 50:55Speaker 2: Revenge Party just all the partying, right, I was, I
- 50:58Speaker 2: was gonna get involved in that with all all of
- 51:01Speaker 2: the kind of the things you could do outside of
- 51:03Speaker 2: key Forge, right, Like, yeah, there was stuff to do
- 51:06Speaker 2: after key Forge too, when key Forge is all done,
- 51:09Speaker 2: like getting to meet other people and then being told
- 51:15Speaker 2: you're not you're not their favorite person of Arkans Corner
- 51:21Speaker 2: or that is okay, or or being told that you
- 51:25Speaker 2: didn't expect to be people's favorite one. I didn't, but
- 51:28Speaker 2: my favorite was still somebody telling me to my face
- 51:31Speaker 2: that the Wookie not not really their favorite member of
- 51:36Speaker 2: Arkans Corner. I'm like, oh, what was their favorite? I'm curious,
- 51:40Speaker 2: you know, I don't remember, but I was just kind
- 51:42Speaker 2: of like, oh, okay, and like just kind of playing
- 51:46Speaker 2: at cooy because you know, you're being told like, well,
- 51:50Speaker 2: not really my favorite. I'm like, you have no idea
- 51:52Speaker 2: who you're talking to right now, do you? This is
- 51:54Speaker 2: kind of great. They probably followed it up with my
- 51:56Speaker 2: favorite person at Arcot's Corner is s He Steel, Right,
- 51:59Speaker 2: that's I don't believe my favorite member Arcots Garner who Sydney. Yeah,
- 52:12Speaker 2: she's honorary local. Yeah. But the parties were definitely a
- 52:18Speaker 2: big thing, whether that was just sitting around playing skulls
- 52:22Speaker 2: or doing shots, or or talking to jazz Corps with
- 52:31Speaker 2: glazed over eyes not knowing if he really knows what
- 52:34Speaker 2: you're telling him or not. I remember nothing. Yeah, that
- 52:39Speaker 2: was my favorite part of of of KFC. And we
- 52:43Speaker 2: had good food, We went out food, we had the robin.
- 52:47Speaker 2: I mean, it's it wasn't for the community, ladies and gentlemen.
- 52:53Speaker 2: It wasn't for the community. This is this is one
- 52:55Speaker 2: of the better ones I've been involved in, the best,
- 52:59Speaker 2: the best number one. But tell us what your guys'
- 53:06Speaker 2: favorite part of twenty twenty four was. We're all we're
- 53:11Speaker 2: all ears, we're listening. Put it down in the comments
- 53:14Speaker 2: section down below. And with that being said, next week
- 53:20Speaker 2: we're going we're gonna go ahead and we're gonna flip
- 53:23Speaker 2: it and reverse it. Right, we're gonna be going over
- 53:25Speaker 2: the bottom five things of twenty twenty four. Are you
- 53:30Speaker 2: guys ready? I'm ready?
- 53:32Speaker 4: Pink jerseys that much?
- 53:33Speaker 2: You were bored? Ready? What was wrong with the pink jerseys?
- 53:36Speaker 2: They were fantastic? You know many compliments I've gotten on
- 53:40Speaker 2: those jerseys. I never got mine. Was it from ghost
- 53:44Speaker 2: because it's kid sized? Yeah? Yours? Yours is yours is
- 53:52Speaker 2: definitely a youth large wall all. It's actually in my bathroom.
- 53:59Speaker 2: It's I aimed, didn't put it on my wall in
- 54:01Speaker 2: my bathroom, but there was. It was a good time.
- 54:07Speaker 2: So let us know what your guys' favorite is. Next
- 54:10Speaker 2: week we'll be going over the bottom five. I can't
- 54:14Speaker 2: wait for that one. I think we're all ready to
- 54:17Speaker 2: maybe unleash and start healing a little bit. Yeah mm hmm,
- 54:23Speaker 2: all right, But with that being said, somebody has to
- 54:27Speaker 2: tuck doctor sheep in. Yes, yes, ewo.
- 54:31Speaker 3: I was gonna say, let's definitely keep it up though
- 54:34Speaker 3: be you know home Base, Let's keep that going. Let
- 54:37Speaker 3: people know have those sets, not just in theory, no,
- 54:41Speaker 3: but like keep pushing good good sets like reminders, important
- 54:46Speaker 3: deck accolades and reprints, the deck clones coming out. That's
- 54:49Speaker 3: awesome Mars event. So I'm looking forward to the event
- 54:51Speaker 3: this year and definitely organize play our Vault tours continuation
- 54:56Speaker 3: at game stores, extending cac There's there's a lot happening
- 54:59Speaker 3: in the vault, So there's a lot that we're thankful
- 55:03Speaker 3: for from last year and we're looking to build upon
- 55:05Speaker 3: it this year. We want the best for this game.
- 55:07Speaker 2: Yeah, it's halfway through January. You feel free to tell
- 55:09Speaker 2: us where the hell they are that we do know about? One?
- 55:13Speaker 2: We know about that a major step forward?
- 55:16Speaker 3: Is it? This is positive Wookie positive the right direction?
- 55:21Speaker 2: I think one this time last year. No, we didn't,
- 55:25Speaker 2: we didn't.
- 55:26Speaker 4: No, they.
- 55:29Speaker 2: They did say they were going to announce more in January,
- 55:32Speaker 2: so that would also be a positive step forward. Should
- 55:35Speaker 2: I check keithforging dot com? Or is it just going
- 55:37Speaker 2: to get released tomorrow just to spite us? I mean,
- 55:41Speaker 2: it's definitely not there now, I don't think, but okay,
- 55:43Speaker 2: go ahead, good now. Last update was December nineteenth, twenty
- 55:47Speaker 2: twenty four.
- 55:48Speaker 3: Hold on, did they forget to hit the submit button again?
- 55:52Speaker 2: Maybe I've done it. I think I think they're they're
- 55:55Speaker 2: they're working on it, right, They're they're calling every game
- 55:58Speaker 2: store in the country. Yep.
- 56:01Speaker 3: I was just I was just hoping that there there
- 56:05Speaker 3: was going to be a refresh button here, just despite us.
- 56:07Speaker 3: That would have been great.
- 56:08Speaker 2: M Yeah, all of a sudden, you refreshed is just there?
- 56:11Speaker 2: Oh set, you have no idea? We just start bottom
- 56:15Speaker 2: five right now. No, I feel like there's some new
- 56:19Speaker 2: art on these. I don't remember all this art here.
- 56:23Speaker 2: Some of these I definitely remember. Some of these I
- 56:25Speaker 2: don't remember at all, like the one on faith, prophecies
- 56:30Speaker 2: and Fates explored. I don't remember this. This shadow is
- 56:34Speaker 2: a specter gadget looking dude, I remember him. Where are
- 56:39Speaker 2: you looking this?
- 56:43Speaker 3: This is great. Radio Boys and Girls absolutely.
- 56:47Speaker 2: Is a podcast.
- 56:48Speaker 3: Nobody comes so they can't see what you're talking about.
- 56:52Speaker 2: Nobody they come here to listen to us complain. Somebody
- 56:58Speaker 2: was talking about the radio today at work. I was like,
- 57:00Speaker 2: what's the radio? The radio never heard of her?
- 57:06Speaker 4: Right?
- 57:08Speaker 3: I love you guys all. There's a lot happening around
- 57:10Speaker 3: the world, so if you're southern California, stay safe. If
- 57:14Speaker 3: you're involved in any of that.
- 57:16Speaker 2: Let me do there's folks down there.
- 57:19Speaker 3: So well, and that's wild the number of ABR friends
- 57:22Speaker 3: and uh plumbing for UK. There's a lot happening, So
- 57:26Speaker 3: I'll be safe playing key forge, keep smiling.
- 57:30Speaker 2: And with that being said, you walk past to tuck
- 57:33Speaker 2: doctor sheep in the bed and we'll see y'all next week.
- 57:41Speaker 3: May the porge be with you.
- 57:45Speaker 4: My hands so nothing got ah, we make same mistake.
- 58:02Speaker 2: Spell my hot boy.
- 58:07Speaker 1: Until the day I died, my heart by until the
- 58:19Speaker 1: day I die. Spell that hot boy until the day
