- 1:08Speaker 2: and Wendy, the best place to get that is on Patreon.
- 1:11Speaker 2: I was just listening to a podcast episode about the
- 1:14Speaker 2: ins and outs of podcasting, and one of the things
- 1:16Speaker 2: they said was out was, oh, garbage bonus content. I like,
- 1:21Speaker 2: don't create a Patreon and just upload your unedited episodes.
- 1:25Speaker 2: That's actually like a negative feature. Create something that stands alone,
- 1:28Speaker 2: and our patreon does fully stand alone. It's standalone content.
- 1:32Speaker 2: We create four episodes over there on a rotating monthly schedule.
- 1:38Speaker 2: This week our pop Culture Club episode, which is everything
- 1:41Speaker 2: we've been watching, reading and listening to for the past month,
- 1:44Speaker 2: went up. Just a little lighthearted fun over there at
- 1:48Speaker 2: patreon dot com slash Megan and Wendy, and you do
- 1:52Speaker 2: get a seven day free trial over there to check
- 1:54Speaker 2: out past episodes.
- 1:56Speaker 1: I would definitely not call it garbage content.
- 1:59Speaker 2: No, no, no, actually felt really I don't often feel good
- 2:02Speaker 2: when people make lists about what you should be doing when.
- 2:05Speaker 1: I'll say, hey, we're doing Patreon right. We're just doing
- 2:08Speaker 1: it right and so dang affordable. Truly check it out.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Do you have a synopsis for a Melbourne match? I do. Georgie,
- 2:18Speaker 1: a travel writer travels to Melbourne for an assignment where
- 2:22Speaker 1: she meets Zack, an ex Australian footballer who agrees to
- 2:26Speaker 1: be her tour guide and shows her that there's more
- 2:29Speaker 1: to life than work.
- 2:31Speaker 2: A Melbourn Match was directed by Colin Buds. He has
- 2:34Speaker 2: more than fifty directing credits, including Hallmark style projects like
- 2:37Speaker 2: Christmas Keepsake starring Daniel Lissing.
- 2:41Speaker 1: This one's written by Mallory Jansen, who also stars as Georgie.
- 2:45Speaker 1: According to her IMDb, it's her first writing credit. She
- 2:49Speaker 1: has twenty six acting credits and we last saw her
- 2:51Speaker 1: on Hallmark in The Royal Wei.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Ryan core Co stars as Zach. He has fifty three
- 2:58Speaker 2: acting credits and this marks his first appearance on Hallmark.
- 3:01Speaker 2: His previous work includes House of the Dragon and The
- 3:04Speaker 2: Secrets She Keeps.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Maybe is played by Elinta chinzi Oh sorry for the
- 3:10Speaker 1: name pronunciation. She's an Australian actress, singer and songwriter with
- 3:15Speaker 1: eight acting credits, and this marks her first time on Hallmark.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Guison Grantly appears as Scott.
- 3:20Speaker 2: He's an Australian actor, voice artist and theater performer with
- 3:23Speaker 2: fifty nine acting credits, making his Hallmark debut here.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Jessica Clark plays Emma. She has eighteen acting credits, including
- 3:31Speaker 1: appearances on the Australian series Neighbors and Home and Away.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Michael Logo plays Daza. He's a New Zealand actor with
- 3:38Speaker 2: twenty acting credits, and viewers might recognize him as Brett
- 3:42Speaker 2: from Colin from account you watch that show?
- 3:45Speaker 1: Right? I love that show? Did you recognize him? And
- 3:49Speaker 1: that doesn't mean amazing. This movie was previously titled her
- 3:53Speaker 1: Ozzy Romance.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Let's take a quick break and come back with our
- 3:57Speaker 2: first impressions. Hey, Wendy, what was your first impression of
- 4:09Speaker 2: a Melbourne match?
- 4:11Speaker 1: I thought I was so clever. Oh no, here I
- 4:14Speaker 1: am whipping up my notes, and my first impression is escapist, charming, elevated.
- 4:23Speaker 1: And then I open Instagram and I see Instagram account
- 4:27Speaker 1: Cozy romcom reviews and there says cozy cultural charming. So
- 4:35Speaker 1: not super impressed with myself right now, but that is
- 4:38Speaker 1: my first impression.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Because you used three adjectives to describe something.
- 4:43Speaker 1: I needed it to be like a tie back to
- 4:45Speaker 1: the movie where Georgie used adjectives to describe this city. Yeah,
- 4:51Speaker 1: that is real clever. Yeah, but I'm not the only
- 4:53Speaker 1: one who thought of it.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Okay, My first impression is perhaps the best thing that
- 4:59Speaker 2: this was. He did was make me want to book
- 5:01Speaker 2: a very long flight to Australia.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Oh, I want to talk about that. Actually, that's my
- 5:08Speaker 1: first Like, let's talk location, location, location. Yeah, loved it.
- 5:15Speaker 1: This felt like a kind of a commercial absolutely for
- 5:20Speaker 1: the beautiful country of Australia tourism promo. Yeah, and I
- 5:25Speaker 1: couldn't help, but like, watch it and go. They don't
- 5:28Speaker 1: have guns there. Guns are not allowed there. Like I
- 5:31Speaker 1: want to stroll along the bridge and eat some ice
- 5:33Speaker 1: cream too and not have to worry about the world
- 5:35Speaker 1: melting around me. It was beautiful. You know.
- 5:39Speaker 2: My neighbor is a pilot for an airline and he
- 5:44Speaker 2: the other day offered me a buddy pass on his
- 5:46Speaker 2: airline because my son's going to be studying abroad next year.
- 5:51Speaker 2: And they happened to fly directly to the city and
- 5:55Speaker 2: he's like, you can use one of our buddy passes,
- 5:58Speaker 2: and then he was naming all the other place is
- 6:00Speaker 2: that they fly and La to Sydney is.
- 6:02Speaker 1: One of the routes.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Oh wow, mused the buddy pass on and I was like,
- 6:06Speaker 2: forget that. I'm going to Australia.
- 6:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Really, I'm going to visit my kid. But I was like,
- 6:12Speaker 1: I want to go to Sydney.
- 6:13Speaker 2: And then he and my husband got into a whole
- 6:15Speaker 2: conversation about Australia and the wit Sundays and where's that.
- 6:20Speaker 2: It's a grouping of islands. Oh, there is an island there,
- 6:24Speaker 2: I believe called Hamilton Island that they went absolutely bananas
- 6:28Speaker 2: for and now when I go, I want to go
- 6:31Speaker 2: all over.
- 6:32Speaker 1: You know what is the turnoff for Australia for me
- 6:35Speaker 1: is the length of time it takes to get.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Me one hundred percent. I don't want to sit on
- 6:39Speaker 2: an airplane for fourteen to sixteen hours.
- 6:41Speaker 3: I don't.
- 6:41Speaker 1: I don't know if I could do it. I might
- 6:44Speaker 1: scratch my skin off, like I would need to be sedated.
- 6:46Speaker 1: I just don't know if I could do it. But
- 6:48Speaker 1: this movie made me go, Okay, maybe I do want
- 6:52Speaker 1: to do that. I thought. I was thinking because I've
- 6:57Speaker 1: seen some criticism that people don't love this Hallmark theme,
- 7:01Speaker 1: this winter escape theme. They want like snowy romances that
- 7:05Speaker 1: are not Christmas in January. Yeah, and I hear you,
- 7:09Speaker 1: But I thought if Homework School was a true winter escape,
- 7:14Speaker 1: I thought they nailed it with this movie. Well yeah,
- 7:17Speaker 1: and it is summer in January in Australia. Yeah, so
- 7:22Speaker 1: I agree.
- 7:23Speaker 2: I was thinking about that too, because we are also
- 7:26Speaker 2: talking about the movie People we Meet on Vacation.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Yes, later this week.
- 7:31Speaker 2: There was some criticism about the timing of that release
- 7:33Speaker 2: as well. Many people were like, why did Netflix not
- 7:36Speaker 2: release this in the summer, And I was thinking back
- 7:40Speaker 2: to our Hallmark series that we're in right now, And
- 7:44Speaker 2: I can see the argument for both ways, Like you
- 7:46Speaker 2: can create escapist content anytime of the year, but you
- 7:49Speaker 2: can really only promote snowy content in the winter, Like
- 7:54Speaker 2: nobody's watching that in June.
- 7:56Speaker 1: So if you're not doing it now, you're not doing
- 7:58Speaker 1: it at all. But I loved this.
- 8:01Speaker 2: I thought it was just adorable. I say, the number
- 8:06Speaker 2: one adjective I used in my notes was cute.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Who the what? Thing? Like the beach scene and they're
- 8:15Speaker 1: splashing in the waves, yes, so cute. Yeah, the koala scene, yeah,
- 8:20Speaker 1: so cute. I was like, she got her face so
- 8:23Speaker 1: close to that koala, which made me uncomfortable.
- 8:25Speaker 2: But I was like, are they gonna let her hold
- 8:27Speaker 2: the koala because I've seen photos of that.
- 8:29Speaker 1: But did they not do that anymore? I don't that
- 8:31Speaker 1: stress the koala out? I don't know. I thought it
- 8:33Speaker 1: was very respectful of the Koala that she just like
- 8:36Speaker 1: existed in his space. I was like, how did she
- 8:38Speaker 1: not pet him? The ice cream and bikes scene.
- 8:42Speaker 2: Loved it adorable, Zach calling her Georgie girl, loved it
- 8:47Speaker 2: so cute. I think I might have been sold on
- 8:51Speaker 2: the romance in this movie more than Lost in Paradise.
- 8:54Speaker 1: So that is so interesting. You bring that up because
- 8:57Speaker 1: it has been discussed in our yeah Facebook, and I
- 9:01Speaker 1: held off my discussion. People are asking what did you
- 9:04Speaker 1: like better, Lost in Paradise or Melbourne Match, And to me,
- 9:08Speaker 1: I really liked both. Yeah, me too. However, they are
- 9:11Speaker 1: two totally different movies to me in tone, in storytelling,
- 9:19Speaker 1: in the way it looks. Kind of enjoyed it a
- 9:24Speaker 1: little bit more.
- 9:25Speaker 2: I think I did see well, and I think the
- 9:28Speaker 2: romance is a little more aspirational than Lost in Paradise.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Like Lost and Paradise is like a plane crash, shipwreck
- 9:36Speaker 1: trying to survive. This is a little more like I
- 9:39Speaker 1: want to do this. Yes ss.
- 9:42Speaker 2: That being said, I think Mallory and Ryan had a
- 9:45Speaker 2: fantastic connection, same chemistry, just sparking right off the screen.
- 9:51Speaker 2: And I really appreciate that they quickly moved past their
- 9:54Speaker 2: initial friction over the driver misunderstanding yes, and she was like,
- 9:58Speaker 2: I'm sorry, like just they just moved ba we're adults.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Yes, Yeah. Was that seems so funny when she was
- 10:04Speaker 1: like facetiming her sister and then her sister sees yes, Zach.
- 10:08Speaker 1: She's like, oh, I see what's happening here. I love that.
- 10:14Speaker 1: I really enjoyed Ryan core I you know, I don't.
- 10:18Speaker 1: I know a lot of people said, like thought he
- 10:20Speaker 1: was great too, and they're like, oh, more of him
- 10:22Speaker 1: on Homewark. I don't think he'll become a reilar Hamewark guy.
- 10:27Speaker 1: I think he could, but no, I don't think he will. Yeah,
- 10:29Speaker 1: because my understanding is I think this movie was I
- 10:32Speaker 1: don't know if it was like an actual acquisition, but
- 10:36Speaker 1: like it's made by completely totally different people. Malory Jansen
- 10:40Speaker 1: as a writer on it. It had a different title before.
- 10:45Speaker 1: I imagine he's I don't want to say, a regular actor,
- 10:49Speaker 1: but he's not going to be like the next Hallmark guy. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Do you know when I's doing other stuff, he's doing
- 10:54Speaker 1: other stuff. Yes, But I really liked him. He doesn't
- 10:58Speaker 1: check the Mark checkbox for me, because truth be told,
- 11:03Speaker 1: I saw he kind of got the Hallmark makeover on
- 11:07Speaker 1: the movie poster, and I was like, yeah, who's this dude? Right,
- 11:11Speaker 1: He's not the only one this month? Oh oh yes,
- 11:16Speaker 1: we will talk about it eventually. Maybe maybe we won't.
- 11:20Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 11:20Speaker 1: I'm afraid anyway, I was like, who is this dude?
- 11:25Speaker 3: Right?
- 11:25Speaker 1: And then and then we see him and he's like
- 11:28Speaker 1: this rugged so hot. I'm I'm kind of into it, okay.
- 11:35Speaker 1: I love the conversation where they're like, oh, I love
- 11:36Speaker 1: your American accent. She's like, why does everybody say I
- 11:38Speaker 1: have an accent? Now? That's like super eth no center
- 11:40Speaker 1: to be like, I don't have any you have an accent?
- 11:43Speaker 2: Yea, but as a person who doesn't recognize my own
- 11:46Speaker 2: voice as an accent because.
- 11:47Speaker 1: I'm used to it. Look, the accents work for me.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Oh yeah, they do something for you. Please just call
- 11:55Speaker 1: me Georgia girl. I'll change my name. It's a great
- 12:00Speaker 1: you know. I loved I will skip ahead. I love
- 12:04Speaker 1: the Australian specifics we get in this movie, like the
- 12:07Speaker 1: nicknames and he explains it, the food, the customs, the stereotypes,
- 12:13Speaker 1: the vegem might, all that, the tim tams. I liked
- 12:17Speaker 1: all of that stuff. Yeah. It layered in like an
- 12:21Speaker 1: authentic we're not in Vancouver guys. Yes, yes, I enjoyed that.
- 12:27Speaker 2: When the boys approach him, yeah, and they're like, you
- 12:30Speaker 2: want to have a kick, And I was like, this
- 12:32Speaker 2: is the cutest thing I've ever seen like he didn't
- 12:36Speaker 2: feel put out by that.
- 12:38Speaker 1: He was just like so in his element. And I
- 12:40Speaker 1: was thinking, like that really happened. That would just make
- 12:42Speaker 1: those boys, Oh dang, wouldn't it give an athletes like
- 12:45Speaker 1: let's just kick the ball. Yeah totally. Oh, I just
- 12:48Speaker 1: thought I just loved it. It's like DeMar Hamlin calling
- 12:51Speaker 1: you on FaceTime, right, yes, exactly. Let's talk about the
- 12:57Speaker 1: writing here. This is a Mallory Antsen project. I thought
- 13:01Speaker 1: she was great. I was, to be honest, nervous, nervous
- 13:06Speaker 1: seem I enjoyed the script a lot. I thought the
- 13:10Speaker 1: dialogue felt modern and natural, people actually talking like people.
- 13:15Speaker 1: I thought it was great. It stayed in the hallmark
- 13:19Speaker 1: like sandbox, but totally it was something different about it.
- 13:23Speaker 1: I don't slightly elevated. I felt like the whole movie
- 13:27Speaker 1: was slightly elevated. I thought it was a true rom com. Yeah,
- 13:30Speaker 1: could have lifted this movie and dropped it on Netflix
- 13:33Speaker 1: one hundred thinking about it, maybe you would need to
- 13:36Speaker 1: spice it up a tiny bit, you know, thrown a
- 13:39Speaker 1: little bit of swearing and some light making out. But yeah,
- 13:42Speaker 1: but yeah, but yeah, I thought writing wise and production
- 13:48Speaker 1: value wise and their connection I thought it was great,
- 13:52Speaker 1: just a tiny like when she's on set at the
- 13:54Speaker 1: talk show they do a shot of the multiple camera angles. Yeah,
- 13:58Speaker 1: I've just loved it. Just felt like it added like
- 14:01Speaker 1: a little bit of authentic. You're making a face. I'm
- 14:05Speaker 1: making a feast because I just realized that we didn't
- 14:07Speaker 1: include Danny Minogue, who is actually like a real person, right,
- 14:11Speaker 1: Danny Minogue appears as herself. Yes, but yeah, they do
- 14:14Speaker 1: a shot just showing you the four camera angles. Yeah,
- 14:18Speaker 1: like the video village of it all, yes.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Which you know, not to making about us, but when
- 14:23Speaker 2: we were on set, mister Christmas, like they had that
- 14:26Speaker 2: wholes Yeah.
- 14:27Speaker 1: And we have a shot of us when we're up there.
- 14:31Speaker 3: So I was like, hey, look at that.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Felt very familiar. Yeah, it's from all my time on
- 14:38Speaker 1: TV set. Speaking of familiar, I did find Georgie's career
- 14:42Speaker 1: anxiety to be very relatable. Oh yeah, when she when
- 14:47Speaker 1: she confesses that she should be further along in her
- 14:49Speaker 1: career by now, you know that kind of internal pressure
- 14:54Speaker 1: I thought was very real. Yeah, I did all these
- 14:59Speaker 1: other things before where I found the thing I was
- 15:01Speaker 1: meant to do and now I'm behind Yeah mm hmm.
- 15:05Speaker 1: That's it for me in my life mind too, let's
- 15:07Speaker 1: talk wishes. I have just a few. Yeah, same, I'm
- 15:12Speaker 1: curious if this is one of yours. At times, I
- 15:16Speaker 1: Georgie felt a little too helpless mmmmm, specifically when her
- 15:22Speaker 1: car is not at the airport when she first gets
- 15:24Speaker 1: to the airport and she's like waiting around for it,
- 15:27Speaker 1: an uber get in an uber Yeah. I'm like, you
- 15:31Speaker 1: know what, you're a travel writer.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Yeah, like you have your itinerary, you know how to
- 15:36Speaker 2: get around. I understand your car is not there, and
- 15:38Speaker 2: that's annoying, but you have the means to get yourself there.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Stuck there?
- 15:44Speaker 2: No, Yeah, I just that kind of stuff, was like yeah,
- 15:48Speaker 2: and calling your assistant in the States to be.
- 15:50Speaker 1: Like, can you fix this for me? Because yeah, come on, Yeah.
- 15:53Speaker 1: I was like, for someone who seems very capable, I
- 15:59Speaker 1: just thought she should have a little more agency over
- 16:03Speaker 1: herself in those moments. The other thing I had mentioned
- 16:08Speaker 1: it in my likes about relating to Georgie's work stress,
- 16:13Speaker 1: and I felt like it came way late in the
- 16:17Speaker 1: movie because there was all this conversation between Zach and
- 16:22Speaker 1: her about like he'd be like, why are you so rushed?
- 16:24Speaker 1: Why do you have this so much? He didn't say structure,
- 16:27Speaker 1: but why is there all this urgency right to do
- 16:31Speaker 1: all these things? And he was gently like trying to,
- 16:36Speaker 1: you know, tell her be present in the moment, right,
- 16:38Speaker 1: But we never get a full understanding. I just think
- 16:42Speaker 1: it would have been better the understanding that she was
- 16:45Speaker 1: like feeling pressure to achieve more in her career if
- 16:48Speaker 1: it came a.
- 16:49Speaker 2: Tiny bit earlier, because she just looks uptight the way
- 16:51Speaker 2: they have yes exactly checking her watch and exactly have
- 16:55Speaker 2: an understanding of why that is right.
- 16:58Speaker 1: And what was interesting is I had the thought again
- 17:02Speaker 1: to make it all about me.
- 17:03Speaker 2: When I'm on vacation, I sometimes feel like I'm the
- 17:07Speaker 2: taskmaster who's like, oh, we got to like stop what
- 17:09Speaker 2: we're doing here and get to the next thing, because
- 17:11Speaker 2: I'm the flow, right, And so I had that feeling
- 17:14Speaker 2: of like I understand where she's coming from. But then
- 17:16Speaker 2: I thought, no, like, he's got it. You don't need
- 17:19Speaker 2: to be the flow, like he's offering to me. You
- 17:21Speaker 2: can let go a little bit because he's clearly has it.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Hand, right. I hated that she got so mean when
- 17:29Speaker 1: she got stressed about appearing on Late Night television, and
- 17:33Speaker 1: I hated it because I can relate to that, like
- 17:36Speaker 1: I can get snappy too, sure, get stressed and frustrated.
- 17:39Speaker 1: I think that's a very human reaction, Yes, but it
- 17:42Speaker 1: just frustrated me that she was so mean to Zach
- 17:46Speaker 1: in that moment, like almost blaming him, when she was
- 17:50Speaker 1: the one who had wanted to stay. She was the
- 17:52Speaker 1: one who had pushed for them.
- 17:54Speaker 2: You know, she was so happy, right, and then this
- 17:57Speaker 2: wrench gets sot in her plans and she immediately.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Asked the blame elsewhere. Also kind of a stupid twist. God,
- 18:04Speaker 1: I hate Okay, it's my next Okay, I just do
- 18:09Speaker 1: not buy that Late night television is booking a travel
- 18:12Speaker 1: writer who is not Australian to talk about Melbourne.
- 18:16Speaker 3: They know.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Yeah, first of all, I don't buy that they're booking
- 18:19Speaker 2: a travel writer ever, unless it's like Anthony Bourdain or
- 18:24Speaker 2: someone that even freaking Rachel Ray forty dollars a day,
- 18:29Speaker 2: someone you know, But even if they were going to
- 18:34Speaker 2: book a travel writer or you know, she said, we
- 18:37Speaker 2: like to talk to the regular people. Side, you're going
- 18:39Speaker 2: to book an Australian travel writer who has gone places
- 18:43Speaker 2: who might have something interesting to tell you instead of
- 18:45Speaker 2: it's like me showing up and be like, hey, let's
- 18:47Speaker 2: talk about all the great things about Orange County.
- 18:49Speaker 1: Wendy. Yeah. I mean obviously she should have She should
- 18:52Speaker 1: have put two and two together of like, what's the
- 18:55Speaker 1: motivation of this late night show wanting me on? Yeah
- 19:00Speaker 1: and say no, yeah, if you're not comfortable doing that.
- 19:06Speaker 1: She was so tied up. I'm like, oh, is this
- 19:08Speaker 1: going to get me the promotion that I needed?
- 19:12Speaker 3: Let's talk?
- 19:12Speaker 1: Do you just see that? Look we talked about it
- 19:16Speaker 1: in our first impression and I'm going to say it here.
- 19:20Speaker 1: The word is Melbourne? Is it not? I don't know.
- 19:23Speaker 1: I say it because you said that. I think that's
- 19:25Speaker 1: just the way they say it with their accent. So
- 19:28Speaker 1: they never correct her. They never corrected her, which drove
- 19:31Speaker 1: me crazy because here's the backstory on it. My daughter
- 19:35Speaker 1: had a soccer coach who went to play professional football
- 19:40Speaker 1: soccer in Australia and she made all these tiktoks about
- 19:45Speaker 1: how the locals schooled her on how she would call
- 19:49Speaker 1: it Melbourne. And they're like, that is not how it's pronounced.
- 19:52Speaker 1: And so that is where I learned like, oh, it's
- 19:55Speaker 1: not pronounced Melbourne, and so it was like frustrating to
- 19:59Speaker 1: watch this.
- 20:00Speaker 3: Movie and maybe that's wrong.
- 20:01Speaker 1: And I would love if anybody is out there and
- 20:04Speaker 1: they're like, no, Wendy, you're a dummy. Megan's googling right now.
- 20:07Speaker 1: She's gonna get like a I'm just curious. She wants
- 20:11Speaker 1: to gloat, she wants to be like, it's pronounced Melbourne.
- 20:15Speaker 1: The AI overview is you pronounce Melbourne as Melbourne or
- 20:19Speaker 1: melboyn not Melbourne? So Melbourne melboyn not Melbourne. On Australia
- 20:25Speaker 1: Reddit Western Australian here, I say Melbourne. I guess I
- 20:29Speaker 1: say it kind of slow. It really bothers me when
- 20:32Speaker 1: people say Born. You know, we have a listener from
- 20:35Speaker 1: Australia named Shannon. I know she doesn't live in this
- 20:37Speaker 1: area because she emailed us after this movie, which she
- 20:42Speaker 1: was like so excited. She's never been to Melbourne herself.
- 20:46Speaker 1: She's a Sydney gal, so I am dying to know,
- 20:49Speaker 1: like she's from this country. How is it pronounced? Please?
- 20:52Speaker 1: Oh my god, please call us if you can even
- 20:56Speaker 1: you can. And here's the thing.
- 20:57Speaker 2: You have to also factor in the accent. Sure person
- 21:00Speaker 2: is saying I reckon mel Dash b u r N
- 21:03Speaker 2: as you wrote, it is bang on of course with
- 21:06Speaker 2: an Australian accident. The R is silent but still sounds
- 21:09Speaker 2: like burn or b RN or b U r N
- 21:11Speaker 2: without the R Melbourne Melbourne, but I think your rate
- 21:14Speaker 2: it's not Melbourne.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Right anyway, Shannon. If you want to call us, our
- 21:18Speaker 1: number is nine four nine three two nine eight zero
- 21:20Speaker 1: nine zero. This is just like a Google voice mail number.
- 21:23Speaker 1: You can just call and leave a message. If that
- 21:27Speaker 1: number does not work for you, please send us like
- 21:29Speaker 1: a voice note or memo and just dm us because
- 21:33Speaker 1: I'm dying to now. Yes, Jan Moore, did you see
- 21:36Speaker 1: that just one the breakfast scene? They go out to breakfast. Yeah,
- 21:42Speaker 1: breakfast arrives, she's absolutely scarfing it down. He tries to
- 21:45Speaker 1: get her to eat vegemite. He gets recognized and asks
- 21:48Speaker 1: for a photo. And then they bolt, Yeah, holy leaving
- 21:52Speaker 1: their breakfast and do not pay. Yes, you're right, they
- 21:55Speaker 1: don't pay.
- 21:56Speaker 2: And in that scene, like as you said, he's like,
- 22:00Speaker 2: you need to slow down and enjoy it, and then
- 22:01Speaker 2: they leave.
- 22:03Speaker 1: I was like, she didn't, you didn't. He didn't even
- 22:05Speaker 1: hear me anything like he he buttered and vegamited his
- 22:09Speaker 1: toe right. Yeah, I was like, you just loved all
- 22:12Speaker 1: that food. I mean, I understand them. He wanted to
- 22:15Speaker 1: get out of there because he was like getting recognized,
- 22:18Speaker 1: But what what do you have?
- 22:22Speaker 2: Georgie's co worker, his name is Eric. The actor's name
- 22:25Speaker 2: is Remy Ashton. In the beginning, he says something about
- 22:28Speaker 2: the nineties icon group Salt and Pepper. Yeah, he says
- 22:34Speaker 2: salt and pepper. Oh really, I was like, oh, he
- 22:37Speaker 2: he doesn't know who they are.
- 22:39Speaker 1: Honest, he's too young. He's too young.
- 22:43Speaker 2: And I rewound it and listened and I heard he
- 22:46Speaker 2: says salt and pepper.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Oh boy, Peppa, her name's Peppa. I laughed out loud
- 22:52Speaker 1: of the line, what do you call this look? Team's chic?
- 22:54Speaker 1: When her sisters wearing loved it, laughed out loud on
- 22:58Speaker 1: the bottom. So funny. And finally in the lobby of
- 23:01Speaker 1: the hotel, I noticed it at the end when Zach
- 23:05Speaker 1: is waiting for Georgie after they've had their fight, but
- 23:08Speaker 1: he still shows up to take her to her late
- 23:11Speaker 1: night situation. There are giant what appear to be skincare
- 23:16Speaker 1: bottles as like art pieces in the hallway. Oh weird,
- 23:20Speaker 1: it's bizarre. Some sort of art installation at the hotel.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Oh weird. What did you rate a Melbourne match? I
- 23:29Speaker 1: gave it four point two five stars? Can it four
- 23:32Speaker 1: and a half stars? I really liked it? You know
- 23:35Speaker 1: it's solid start to January. Yep, I'm not looking forward
- 23:40Speaker 1: to this weekend though.
