- Big Country: Welcome in this is episode I don't know what now of the Absolute Problems Podcast. I'm your host, Big Country, with my partner PB. It's been a long two week break, but happy birthday. It's big two five to both of us. but yeah, let's get straight into it. Let's talk some week six NFL slate. any takeaways you kinda had from week five though. PV: Yeah, I mean, you know, definitely a lot of a lot of shifting factors around the league. You know, the Patriots seem to have gotten a lot of their momentum under their feet. Drake May has gotten a lot of confidence back, which is big for him. that was a big win against the Raiders, who seem to be pretty legit throughout the year so far, but in that game they definitely got stomped on pretty bad. Broncos continue to win big big games definitely early in the year. obviously the Chargers now drop to 0-5, kind of putting a potential end to their season, you know. you can't really start 0-5 and hope for the best, but you know, it's not over over, but definitely a rough start for them. still some offensive struggles from the Broncos. Definitely didn't see much of a difference with Sean Payton taking the reins, but hopefully we see something develop the next couple weeks. And we do have the game tomorrow, so we'll have that. We'll get to see what's going on with that. Big Country: Yeah, certainly. I mean, before we get into like, you know, mainly on week six, I got to see Green Bay kinda dominate the Bears with their backup QB, which is always a good thing. You don't wanna, you know, play bad against a backup. kind of like what you were saying, we were mentioning with Broncos, you know, just starting slow. Offense didn't look great, but they got the job done. Nothing gets a bad Chargers team, looks like. And then Boy Rogers, bro, he's slinging that thing, bro. You know, he's he's not looking like he's forty two, which is nice to see. but yeah, let's get straight into it. Let's PV: Yeah, he's been hot. Big Country: talk Seahawks Broncos and we'll also make our picks for these as well will be good. but yeah, I mean you talk broncos better than me, so I'll let you take the reins on though. PV: Yeah, I think this is gonna be a tough one. a lot of injuries around the defense, which has been our biggest focus, obviously. I think Hufanga going down and looking like he's gonna miss multiple weeks is obviously a big deal. He's a big leader in that offense. Obviously, we're missing our two primary corners, Riley Moss and Pat Surtan already. So a lot of injuries going around. I do see that affecting us this week more than it did last week. I think we had an easier matchup last week. Honestly, I think with the Broncos and their offensive struggles, I do see us dropping this game. Unfortunately, it'll be the first one that we drop from home. I believe. I do think we'll be able to keep it relatively close. I think in the end we'll have some sort of a big spurt to make it look like a closer game than it does into being throughout the game, but I don't I don't see us I don't foresee us winning this one mostly just because of the injuries. Big Country: Yeah, de that definitely injuries being a big bug to you guys right now, you know. looks like it you could be both starting corners and you're starting safety and a team when you got the best receiver in football on the other side of the ball, man. That's not usually a recipe for success, I would say. And at a two and a half spread that you're already not even favored at home, I think that's where the book just like it it just kind of knows. So that being said, I am gonna take Seattle wise two and a half. PV: Yeah. Yeah, I would too. Big Country: Yeah. That's unfortunate to say as a fan, but you're not stupid, right? PV: Yeah, you know, I th I think I think given if we were at full power, it would be a different story, especially with this being at home. but you know, missing our primary corners and missing our strong our top safeties and going against the best wide receiver in the league, like you said, it's just a recipe for disaster. Big Country: Yeah, you're not going up against Justin Herbert and the ghosts he's seeing, bro. 'Cause some of the throws he was making some of the plays he was he's just trying to do too much, man. I I just sat there, I was like, What are we doing? PV: Gosh, yeah, that last pick that threw to Jade Barron. Yeah. I don't know what I don't know especially what he was doing on that last drive. That really confused me. That throw was just right to the corner. Like there was no reason to throw it there. Big Country: yeah. And then we got Texans at Jags. Jags four and one, Texans one and four, kind of the opposite, obviously. but at the same time, the Jags, you know, haven't faced a tough schedule. Texans have played faced somewhat of a tough schedule. Probably at least say they're the best one and fourteen like you were saying earlier. send out a two and a half point spread. This game is also gonna be in London. Jags have been in London for the past week. I have I mean, I feel like that's gotta play a factor, right? PV: Yeah, exactly. And that's what I was gonna mention is why that one feel this feel this one feels like more like a lock for me with J with the Jags. not only they're playing better football, but they've already been in London for a week or and so they are already accumulated to the time, everything like that. They didn't have to travel. The Texans are going to have to travel, if not if they haven't already traveled, they might have already traveled. Regardless, it it it does have a factor. and so I think given that they're gonna be technically home with a stadium that typically is behind them and There are the better team in this instance. I'm taking the Jags to win in cover. Big Country: Yeah. I like it here a lot. I mean, I think, you know, say this is a neutral site, maybe it's different, but this is not really a neutral site for the Jags. They've played in I believe this is now their sixteenth London game or just international game in general. You know, they've been one of the more prominent teams to do that. And I feel like they have better preparation going into these games because of that. You know, and these teams were pretty evenly matched last year. we're seeing a little bit of a fall off with the Texans with the Jags or Hallman. And I obviously they kinda squeaked out a win in London against the Eagles, struggling Eagles. But I don't think that'll be the case and I think they cover as well. But Bears, Falcons, fuck the Falcons. It cost me 2.4 grand. PV: This guy didn't edge. Big Country: Always hedge your bets, ladies and gents. Always hedge your bets. never never think of you know, that you're right and just just hedge your bets. Just always. Anyways, Bears looked ugly against Green Bay last Sunday. Falcons, you know, controlled the majority of that game against the Raiders, but crumbled down their leg to finish it off. They're at home. I I don't really know I I don't know if Caleb is playing. It looks like he is considering their favorite on the road. At least the book thinks he's gonna be playing. And if that's the case, I this one's kinda hard, but that barefoot there's defense did not look good against Green Bay. I have a feeling that PV: Yeah, I think this one's kind of a tough one. Like you said, we don't know really for sure whether or not Caleb's gonna be playing, which will be the biggest factor here. I think that the Falcons have looked really good offensively. They really struggled last week in that game against the backup Tyler Huntley, but Big Country: Full shot. PV: they still have they still have plenty of offensive weapons to really light it up. I think I'm gonna take the Falcons to winning cover this one. I think even if Caleb does end up playing, it it's possible that he may not be a hundred percent. You won't see him scramble and move Big Country: I never say. PV: around quite as much. So I think it's I think I'm gonna go with the Falcons in this one. Big Country: You Kyle Kyler, you're just saying like he's not gonna be a hundred percent, like a hundred percent of what a Caleb's game is, is running outside the pocket, making those off balance throws, keeping him in the pocket. I don't think he he's accustomed to being that pocket passer. I feel like that Atlanta D can maybe, you know, go hunting after him. I'm not saying they're gonna be overly successful because the Bears usually have somewhat of a decent run game. but I can see the Bears losing this one on the road. PV: And also the mental part of it, you know. he he was crying coming off the field on the cart that last injury, so who knows if Big Country: What a pussy. PV: maybe now he's who knows if maybe now he's afraid to get injured s more seriously 'cause he feels like he got lucky that time, so Big Country: Yeah, he yeah, he might be a little timid, a hundred percent. You know, when you got Zadarius Smith bearing down on you, you know, you might be timid. yeah. Ravens at Browns, Ravens are five and a half point favorites. I'm not up to date on whether Lamar is going to be playing, do you? PV: not up to date on that, but I think regardless, I think I don't know. I think regardless the the the Ravens would probably still be favored with how they looked against the Falcons. Obviously they would be more favored if Lamaria does end up playing, but it I don't know, this one's kind of an interesting one because the Browns did just drop one, but they've also looked pretty good all year. I don't know, what do you think about this game? Big Country: I mean, he was a non participant in today's practice, just so you know. This is like one of those like I mean it's a north it's a north division game. It's gonna be gritty, you know. I I like the Browns to cover. I think five and a half is a lot. They played pretty tight defense. and I might take an upset here. Honestly, this feels like almost like a PV: You know what? Big Country: little bit of a trap game. PV: Yeah, I'm gonna agree with you here. I think the biggest difference is I really like the Browns D line. I think that their D line is really well ran rounded. and they have a they have some good coaching staff in how they set up that D line and trap the quarterback. And so I think that that's gonna be play a big factor in what it e whether it's Tyler Huntley or Lamar Jackson, I think that the Browns are gonna do a good job of containing them a QB. So I could definitely see them for one covering. I think if Lamar plays The Ravens will probably squeak it out, but if Tyler Huntley plays, I could see the Browns winning this one by a lot. So I'll take the Browns. Big Country: plus five map. I PV: Yeah. Big Country: like it, I like it. I mean we can split you know, we could always, you know, not agree with each other, you know. PV: Yeah, I mean I don't know. I I wanna take the Ravens, but that's only if Lamar plays and with him being a non participant. Big Country: Yeah, if Wilmar plays fully, I get I feel more comfortable. But with Tyler Huntley, I mean, they were down the whole entire game. So. Texans at the Colts. Not Texans, Titans at the Colts. Cam Ward is ass. Titans are ass. I feel like this is pretty easy. I feel like the Colts will make it stupidly interesting with the seven point spread. but they should dominate this team. So I'm gonna take cold minus seven. PV: I'm gonna take the Colts to win but the Titans to cover. I think the Titans whenever they play tougher opponents for whatever reason, they actually end up having pretty good a pretty good game. And I think Carnell Tate, before you know, this last week he struggled, but before that he had a big step up in his connection with Cam Ward. I think that a lot of those factors I think Tony Pollard had a pretty solid has been pretty solid this year. Obviously it's hard to be get going with such a struggling offense, but I think that the c the Titans can cover, but I think the Colts will still win this one 'cause I don't think the Titans know how to win game. Big Country: No, they're young men and I check that you know, I was pretty high on Robert Saul going into the season. I like the coaches that he hired on the offensive side of the ball as well. It's just I don't know maybe maybe he doesn't have all the talent. I mean they don't have a running game. He doesn't online's not the greatest, you know. Maybe Cam Ward's just ass, or maybe he's just a young quarterback figuring it PV: I think Cam Ward Big Country: out. PV: I think Cam Ward is the he's figuring it out, obviously, but I think his demeanor and his attitude I feel like has changed a lot. and I think it I think it's the same thing with like that's happening with that happened with Drake May. I think he's just in his head a lot. I think if he has one big game, he can really switch around his mentality. Big Country: Yeah, maybe we're gonna I don't see it, man, but tight ends, you mean they're not looking good. PV: Yeah, I mean you you heard you heard it from Carnel Tate, you know, he he's never lost this much before, so it's it's shaking these guys up for sure. Big Country: Well, I would hope Carnell Tate wouldn't be losing at Ohio State that much. PV: Yeah. Big Country: I mean, a lot of these guys when they come into the NFL again, they don't lose a lot. They're very talented players on great teams in college. They dominate. You know, they're not like the scrubs in college. The the studs. but anyway. Jets, Patriots, Patriots at home, seven and a half point favorites. I mean the Jets squeaked out a win against the Browns, covered not covered, but I want to say they beat by five. I don't see them doing anything good against the Patriots. Patriots it looks like they found their way. back, like you were saying, Drake May's finally, you know, gotten back to being, you know, I don't know, Drake May. So I'm gonna take pictures to cover that game. PV: I'm gonna go the other way here. I think that the Patriots are very good at covering the or not the Patriots, sorry, the Jets are very good at covering the deep ball, and that's what Drake May is primarily known for, is throwing that deep ball. and I think given that it's a matchup in the division, I think it'll definitely be a close one. I'll probably still take the Patriots, but I'm gonna take the Jets to cover. Big Country: Yeah, I like it. I like it. Saints at Giants. Saints haven't really, you know, look good ever since that Ravens game. Giants found a way to tie. Given that. That's that is all I really could really say about the Giants right now. I mean PV: Their offense is clicking. Big Country: Hey, I will take any day where you're given my Blackman League gamers twenty targets in one game. That's insane. Is it sustainable? No. But you know, he's Jameis, you you're gonna get out of Jameis. You're gonna get some Flash and you're gonna get some ass. Simple as that. Giants aren't even favored at home. I don't really understand why, because the Saints haven't really been playing that well. So I'm gonna take Giants plus one. PV: I'm taking the Saints to win and to cover in this one. I'm gonna be on the opposite side. I think that the Saints just had a really tough matchup against Minnesota, and I think that they bounce back against what's a really shit defense, especially with their corners. I think Javon Holland's really the only saving grace in that secondary, but I don't think that he can cover the plethora of weapons that they do have at wide receiver right now, especially given how good Olave really is. they had a really tough matchup against what seems to be the best defense in the NFL currently, and so I think Shug has a good bounce back. I do think that they win this one. the Giants I think will probably make it tough. I'll give that. But I think that the Saints will squeak this one out. Big Country: You know, I I'm not gonna give the whole like the they're playing the best defense in the world 'cause truthfully the Vikings haven't played anyone yet. PV: The the Saids the Saids had the leading pass yard he was leading in pass yards before that game and then he threw like ninety seven. That's a that's a pretty big Yeah, but they did they're doing they're doing everything right. Big Country: Yeah. They blitz a lot. And if you're not ready for that, you're not ready for that. But let's also remember the Vikings have only played like five fucking teams and they've only allowed up the max was twenty two and that was against Green Bay when their offense was shit. I don't I don't believe in the Vikings five and out one bit. That was the first game of the season. That's the only thing they've given up. No. This PV: Yeah, that was a few weeks ago. Big Country: team has not played a single good team. I don't consider Green Bay great. I really don't. I mean, why would I? Let's be honest. They've been bad. PV: I I maybe they haven't played a good team, but the Saints are a good offense. You can't say the Saints are not a good offense. They had the number one leading receiver. Big Country: They don't have any run game though. PV: They had the number one leading receiver and the number one leading passer. Well it it does if you're successful. They were Big Country: It means you're losing a lot. PV: successful with their passes. What their offense their offense wasn't Big Country: Yeah, they're six they were successful, but like PV: the problem. Big Country: I I don't think they you know, the Eagles the Eagles, the Giants, I feel I feel like that's just you know, a game where it can be like kinda high scoring, but like Giants keep up and they make a play at end. I really do. But anyways. Yeah, yeah. PV: I'm gonna take the Saints to make the play at the end in this one. Big Country: Panthers at Eagles, Panthers coming off a bye, Eagles coming off that tough loss in London, not taking a bye week after London, kind of a strange thing. I feel like it's gonna affect him. You know, Panthers gonna be rested and they're gonna go into that game, you know, off that big victory off Sunday Night Football, man. I feel like they're they're gonna go in and route up route up the Eagles and the Eagles have not been looking good. PV: Yeah, I think that the Panthers are just playing better football. you know, the thing that struggles the most the Panthers struggle with the most is a run game, but thankfully for them, you know, the Eagles are unlike their fourth running back. So it's not gonna affect them much in this one. And I think their offense will be clicking and the Eagles offense is gonna has been struggling a lot. It'll probably continue. especially if Saquon can can can still not come back, and even if he does come back, it'll be on the witted snaps. So and yeah, like you mentioned, the London effect. So yeah, I'm gonna take the Panthers to win and cover as well. Big Country: For sure. And some forget that the Panthers I wouldn't say they shut down Jameer Gibbs against the Lions, but they didn't make him, you know, look good, you know. So PV: Yeah. Big Country: it's getting better. And that they also did that with their at their top two corners, going up against Amon Ra and J-Mo. So you know, props to the Panthers for getting that win. Steelers at Box. Box coming up a huge win on Thursday night last week. They kinda have that like little mini buy. you know, playing on that Thursday night. And Steelers, you know, coming off back to back wins. Well no, sorry, just a win. They lost against Browns a week prior. But I like what I'm saying out of the Steelers. I feel like the Steel this is a type of Steelers team that will get after a young quarterback like Jalen Daniels, you know, especially without you know Baker obviously being in there. and you're not playing the fucking Cowboys defense, you're playing the Steelers, you know. The Steelers have been known to have somewhat of a decent defense no matter what, and I feel like they might feast off a young quarterback like that. On the road as well. PV: Yeah, that's my thing as well, is I think that a lot of the Jalen Daniels hype is gonna it's gonna die down. A big reason why he was so successful is cause he went against such a bad defense and the Cowboys and Bucky Irving had such a big game. I don't think Bucky Irving finds that same success this week against the Steelers. and I don't think that offense will be able to keep up if the Steelers continue to drop twenty plus points a game. Big Country: Yeah, I mean, don't get me wrong, like Bucky had a great game. And I've seen the S Steelers Divens be susceptible to a good running back, you know, like you saw week one against with Bijan. But Bucky is no Bijan. So and PV: Yeah, I say that's B jump. Big Country: Jalen like you were saying, because you obviously have him in fantasy, but like Jalen Warren has finally, you know, broken out not only in the rushing game, but in the passing game as well, and Rogers is fighting and Rogers is also just clicking too in that offense finally. you know, this is like three straight weeks where this dude's almost throwing three hundred yards passing, a couple tons each week. Man, this dude's humming. PV: Yeah, and Jalen Warren's really good at pass blocking. He's probably the best pass blocking running back in the NFL. So it's really easy to have him on the field for that for for that specific reason. And then not only that, but you can dump it off to him and have hit and he's had insane big playability this year. he's averaging over six yards a carry. He's had several big catches for a lot of yards. So he's been he's been an incredible running back and the type of running back that I think Aaron Rodgers absolutely loves to work with. Big Country: Yeah, certainly you know I'm hoping, you know, the Steelers obviously, you know, they obviously appreciate that, but don't take away, you know, the amount of success he's had on the field because he's almost been on the field for almost ninety percent of snaps. And it looks like Rigo Dattle is coming back this week. I'm hoping they don't, you know, shed the workload just because Rico's back. But our boy Jeremy Bernard, man, he looked at that wide receiver to spot for Rogers, man. Looked really good. last week I believe in nine targets, six catches, you know, really broke out in that spot for Michael Pittman. And without Roman Wilson going into this week, he's he's due for kinda like that big role in that offense that I mean he needs to step up to PV: Yeah. Big Country: so PV: Yeah, definitely. He was absorbing a lot of targets this last game. I could definitely see it continue. Rogers definitely likes to throw him the rock. Big Country: Yeah, GK, DK's a pussy. I d I like I don't know how many times I have to say, he gets so many targets, he's great and then he just he just doesn't do anything, you know. This is his first week without well at least five targets and which was kinda just weird because after the Cleveland game you saw him kinda break out with nine targets, get five catches, a hundred fifteen yards, you're just like, Okay, we finally got DK back, Rogers finally found him and then it was the exact opposite the next game. His season low in yards, season low in catches, and you're just like, All right, thanks. Anyways, Cardinals at Rams. Rams need to get back. I feel like twelve and a half is a lot of points to cover, especially with you know how susceptible their defense has looked over the past few weeks. but at the same time the Cardinals got fucking killed by the Lions last week. And the Lions had one of the worst defenses in all of football. So I feel like twelve and half, it's a lot, but I think they did cover. PV: Yeah, I agree. I think that the Rams defences you know, they've had their struggles, but they do still have really good a really good secondary and really good corners. I think that their only problem in this game is gonna be Trey McBride. I think they'll be able to lock up Michael Wilson pretty well with Trent McDuffie, but I do th I do see the Rams scoring a lot of points in this game. I really don't see anyone in the Cardinals that can hold either Puka or Devante, so I I'm gonna have the Rams win by a blowout as well. Big Country: Not a bad pick there at all. I mean, Rams need to win too. They're two and three. Not a lot of two and three teams usually win a Super Bowl. The odds are not really PV: Yeah. Big Country: for them to do that. anyways. All right. the Chargers are they're just in such a rough, like just it's just been bad for them, man. Going up against the Chiefs now, you know, it just feels like It never can get like that easy game. The easy games they do get early on in the season they obviously lose, you know, with or what's supposed to PV: Right. Big Country: be easy games, you know, leading into the schedule. PV: Yeah. Big Country: But Chargers at Chiefs. Chiefs are eight and a half point favorites at home. I almost want to say plus Chargers, you know, like give me give me the their spread. Because division game, they'll probably play them a little tighter. But after what I saw from Justin Herbert, that shit made me want throw up. That thing was quite horrible, yeah. So I like Chiefs to win, but I don't like them to cover eight and a half. I feel like that's a lot of points for me. PV: Yeah, I'm gonna take Chiefs to win, but not to cover. the Chiefs I feel like are always in close games regardless. I feel like for whatever reason they play down to their opponent's level, but they end up winning the game all the time, anyways. So I could see this being close. But I do think that they will should easily win this one. and yeah, the Chargers unfortunately will mo more likely than not drop to O and six, you know, maybe they can pull out a miracle. But The Chiefs should get away with the win in this one, even if it's close. Especially at home. Big Country: Yeah. I don't kinda ask you this because I asked Matt this, you know, shout out Matt. At what point do you, you know, consider the like the little Phantom I L with Justin Herbert and just shut him down, you know what I Like say he's got something going on. Because like we get to a point where maybe we're like six, and six, maybe like two and seven, you know, in a few weeks or something. You're not making the playoffs. At what point do we just say, Alright, let's sell out for Jeremiah Jeremiah Smith? Why not? Right. I know a lot of other teams are worse than the Chargers, but they can't be that much worse right now. You know? I don't know. Would you? PV: Yeah, I don't know. I don't think I would. I think I would I think you have to figure out how to get Justin Herbert to work with Mike McDaniels and everyone else in that offense. it's it's just you know, you have you have a premier quarterback right now who has so much potential and he's still young and his time's running out. So I think you need to be able to figure something out. So I think even if your season's in the toilet, I would still push to try to make the team look a lot better than it has all year. Big Country: Yeah. you know, I'm probably you know giving too much hate towards the charges. They are six d significantly hurt. You know, no lad. you're relying on Q J, man, and QG I believe, didn't he get banged up? You know, you got eighth graders on your old line essentially, man. Like this team is just they're banged up and you're leaving it all to Herbert to fucking just throw some middle schoolers, man. Except for Trey Harris, I do the dog. So hopefully Herbert can turn it around. I don't mind watching him succeed, you know, for Matt's sake at least. yeah. Rough kill for him. PV: Yeah, it's definitely it hasn't looked good, you know, and there is a lot of blame that should be thrown on him, but you know, I still think that he has a lot of potential and a lot of talent. Big Country: Sure, for sure. Bills PV: Okay. Big Country: at Raiders. Bills are five and a half point favorites on the road. They're staying on the West Coast. They're not even going home. So I feel like that might help them a lot with like you know time difference and everything. And Raiders coming off like kind of like a big loss against New England, right? PV: Yeah, it was a pretty ugly loss to New England. Seventeen to forty five, I think. Big Country: I you know Raiders, I mean, I don't want to write them off yet, 'cause they've had played pretty well the start of the season. Their defense has been playing well. Had a couple rough rough couple games, you know. But I'm not saying they're gonna get get back in the wind column here by any means. But I feel like they do play better, but I think Buffalo's still Yeah. I think Buffalo wins no matter what. A little uneven under the spread. PV: Yeah, I mean I think that the Raiders had a rough matchup last week. I mentioned that the Patriots really love to throw the deep ball. I think that that's what the Raiders struggle with. we've mentioned all year that where they're strong is really in their linebacker core. Their secondary is solid too. but they have some they have some youngsters in that secondary and you know, if you if you figure something out you can beat them deep and so that's where I feel like they're weak and that's why they had such a rough game defensively. So I don't think that the Bills are necessarily a deep ball team, so I think that that's gonna help the Raiders a lot in this matchup. I think the Bills do still take this win, but honestly, I I'm gonna have that f the five point five is just such a weird number. Big Country: Yeah. If it's like six and a half, seven and half, that's where I'll be like, All right, PV: Yeah. Big Country: I like Vegas to cover. But I think PV: Yeah, I agree. Big Country: five and a half I I gotta go Bills. PV: Yeah, I'm gonna go Bills too. Five and a half is just too weird of a number. I would have taken them around six and a half, but five and a half doesn't feel right. I do feel like they'll lose by probably a like seven points, something like a touchdown. Big Country: That leads them to you know, where Carrie takes us home, Carrie Underwood, you know, Sunday night football, best time of the week, you know. Get to see Dak and company go up to Lambeau and play Green Bay after their big win. And Cowboys kinda got a little mini bye week to kind of reset after the loss against the Bucks at home too, which is kind of surprising. Green Bay is favored by a point and a half. I'll just tell you what, man. Take out your savings, go to the bank. Yeah, take it out and hammer Green Bay Bye. Jordan Love hammers this defense every time he's played him. He's averaged 44 points a game when he's played him in two games. His defense hasn't changed much. I don't see any different. In Green Bay, riding hot, Cowboys riding cold. I think it's a clear, obvious situation here. You know, Green Bay they I think they're simply better right now. PV: I don't think it's quite as obvious. I think it'll be a Big Country: Alright. Get the fuck out of here. PV: very much a shootout. like I could see it being something like a 34 38 type of game. both defenses I think will struggle. The Cowboys have a very, very, very good offense. but they have a horrible defense, which is where I think Green Bay has the advantage here. home field advantage. Big Country: I mean, Green Bay's defense is nothing crazy, I'll be honest with you. I think it's just the fact that Love has been playing dominantly, you PV: But they're going against one of the best offenses in the league. Big Country: know, against any defense that's really gone up against the past few weeks, and he's looked really good. Not to mention, Packers are gonna get up there for having like maybe the best wide receiver duo in the league right now. Golden and Watson are playing extremely well. They're both top ten in yards right now. That's kinda just crazy to even say. I mean golden golden's golden. PV: Yeah, but that's that's where the cowboys could easily be as well. Big Country: Yeah, but fuck the cowboys, right? PV: Cowboys just actually have a good run game, so they're able to run it more. Big Country: That's all it is, bro. I swear. You know, Marshawn Lloyd, you know, he has the greatest vision in the world, you know, that's why he averages like three yards per carry. PV: I think I'm gonna take the Cowboys to win this one. Big Country: Honestly, in in like true retrospect, I just I could see obviously a shootout in this game. you know, the Cowboys offense has historically you know, put can't they can put up points against Green Bay. I just don't like the spot the Cowboys are in, you know, lately. You know, they just haven't looked the greatest. you know, and Green Bay looked really good last week. You know? They f I think they finally figured something out. Air that motherfucker out to Christian Watson and he'll be down there to catch it eventually. PV: Yeah, I mean he should Big Country: Okay. PV: be, but I don't know. I think that this one will be a shootout, will be close, but I'm gonna take the Cowboys to win it just 'cause I feel like when it comes to shootouts, Jordan Love doesn't typically end up winning the game. Big Country: 'Cause we don't get into shootouts, man. We just win. PV: And lose. Big Country: No no no. I mean, the last time they played in Jerry's world it ended forty forty. So you didn't lose that. PV: Fair enough. Big Country: Not. I mean and he could like and then the time before that he played them, he he put up forty two not PV: I was gonna say, was it the last time you guys played in the playoffs? Big Country: forty yeah, he played put up forty eight and Dallas lost forty eight to thirty two. Remember that, you know? PV: What didn't you guys just lose to them at the playoffs the last time you met? Big Country: no, we haven't lost to Dallas ever in the playoffs. PV: When was it that Micah Parsons got that sack on Dak Prescott last year? That Big Country: That was last year. It was just a tie. PV: was the tie? Gotcha, okay. Big Country: Yeah. Green Bay h has never lost in Jerry's world. PV: Interesting. Big Country: Coincidentally that's when we we all we also won a Super Bowl in their own stadium. PV: They're not in Jerry's world this time though. Big Country: Yeah, they also haven't lost in Green Bay in a very long time. PV: You're telling me they I was gonna say you're telling me they've never lost to the cowboys. Big Country: We own the Cowboys, man. I don't think this is a this is this is just something we do, man. We win. PV: History history could be different if Des Bryant was given the right call. Big Country: We haven't lost the to the Cowboys since twenty sixteen. We have their number. We know how to beat them. Last time we lost them PV: Yeah, I guess we shall see. Big Country: was Dax Rookie Year. And you remember what happened after Dak during the playoffs in Dax Rookie Year? Aaron Rodgers took a dump on his face. You know, remember Jerry Cook on the sideline cut? Anyways, so you like you like Dallas to cover and to win. I like Green Bay to cover and to win. well leads us into our Monday night game. Forty Niners host the Commanders. I like what I saw at Jaden Daniels last week, just in like what how he ended the game. I honestly think they could easily I don't not easily. They I think they could cover this spread, but I don't think they're gonna win it. San Francisco's just looking really good. But I feel like you know the Commanders could put up a fight at their end and just cover by like barely by the inches of their dick. PV: I'm gonna take the Niners to win and a cover in this one. I think that the Niners defense is a huge step up from the Cat from the Giants defense. and I think that Jaden Daniels will definitely struggle a bit more this week. you know, getting a hundred rush yards and two touchdowns as a quarterback is pretty outlandish. I don't know if he's gonna be able to repeat that performance, and that was where the majority of his yards came from. So he's gonna at least need to start throwing the ball this game because the Niners definitely know how to contain. You gotta be scared of Fred Warner out there. Dre Greenlaw being out definitely sucks, but I think they'll be okay without him. I mean to take the Niners to cover and to win. Yeah. Big Country: It's a fucking crazy man, dude. Dude, it's just crazy. Is Diggs looks like he's questionable this week. If they you know, we can get back on the field could certainly help Jaden Daniels out as well. Am I wrong? he was in, he was in, he was PV: No, I don't think Terry was out. Big Country: in. I'm wrong. yeah, it kinda wraps up for week six picks at least. let's get into our like you know our little donos of the week, of course. You know, time to donate as we do best. I don't think we had a single bet. in the first five weeks, right? Or have you? PV: I've yeah, I'm three for five. Big Country: Well, ha I'm not. I believe everyone would have lost a coin if you took a big country's pick, so that's damn sure. So here's this week's picks for me. As we were saying, Dallas hasn't looked great. Their pass defense looked terrible against Jalen Daniels. Same with the rushing game. But Jordan Love has looked amazing against these bad pass defenses, man. So I like these over in two hundred sixty nine and a half. one of the things I kind of saw in that Green Bay game was that. Bears secondary getting fucking torched on the deep all. And I think Michael Penix and Drake London has been amazing since the first three weeks that he's been back. I like his over 89 and half. And then, like we kind of say with Rogers, needs that wider two to step up. J. Bernard, forty and a half yards. I feel like he could easily crush this line. Parlay this up to plus five sixty one on FanDuel, maybe throw a little boost. Put some units, man. Probably not gonna hit 'cause I put it out there. But not a bad probably in my opinion. What do you think? PV: Yeah, I mean I like all of them. I don't know about Drake London. That's pretty high line. I think Chicago before Big Country: It is a little odd. PV: this Green Bay game, they were pretty doing pretty good against wide receivers. I do think that Drake London, obviously being the premier receiver there, should hit this line, but I do think that's going to be the trickiest one. I think my favorite line here is definitely Jeremy Bernard stepping up into that wide receiver two spot, even with the injuries just mid-game. He already stepped in, got a bunch of targets, so I could see him easily hitting that. Big Country: Yeah, yeah, I appreciate that. Appreciate that. And that goes into PV's battle of the week and like you take it away. PV: Yeah, so we've got Olave this week going up against I've been mentioning all all's podcasts, the weak giant secondary. So I think with how productive that passing offense is, you know, they had a rough week last week against what I would consider the top defense in the NFL at the moment. Chug had a struggle, a little bit of a struggle, but before that he was number one in pass yards in the NFL and Chris Olave was also I don't know if he I think he was number two actually in receiving yards. but regardless, we should see them step back into their step back into the fire that they were giving us. And I do see another big game for Olave here. I don't see a corner on that second in that secondary that can guard him. so that one should be easy for him. And then Brock Bowers, you know, he's been absolutely frying defenses as of late. He's going up against the Bills defense this week and their secondary has been pretty soft, pretty banged up. CJ Gardner Johnson went down with an injury last week. So I could see Brock Bowers easily covering another six and a half seven catches for for the game. you know, being as productive as he has been and being their leading receiver. And then I mentioned it earlier, I think that this Jags money line should be a really easy one for them to hit. You know, already having spent a week in London going up against a one and four team. I think that they're just the better football team in this instance. So I'm gonna take their money line for the parlay, put all those together, it comes up to four seventy-nine. Big Country: I don't I don't mind that at all. I like the Bowers pick, especially in this one. He's been very dominant since coming back from the injury. Kirkho's been throwing his way a ton, just giving him lot of attention and doesn't even seem like the defense is, you know, paying that much attention to him 'cause he's literally the only playmaker that can catch the ball for the Raiders. At least PV: Yeah, exactly. Big Country: like great playmakers. You always have some guys, but like nothing like him. like you were saying. Giants defense. Horrible. Love that line. And then Jags. That kinda wraps it up for our week six, episode what? Nineteen? Maybe six maybe eighteen? I don't even know at this point. PV: Yeah, I think it's nineteen. No, I think we did eighteen already. I think this is nineteen. Big Country: Either way. Either way, back to the weekly uploads. it's been a great session day. AP to the moon, right? PV: Yep, and happy late birthday to the two of us. Big Country: Yes, sir. Day two five, as my my father always asked me, you feel a year older? PV: I guess I do. Big Country: Dude, I dad asked him this I told him I was like, Yes, my joints hurt. Anyways. PV: Yeah. Big Country: I hope you guys have a great week, and hope you guys tail these lines and hopefully we win. But that is that is it for the Altitude Problems Podcast. See you guys next week. PV: my god.
