- 1:00Speaker 1: I'm Rachel Yucatel. So happy Thursday, everybody. I just wanted
- 1:05Speaker 1: to start this episode by acknowledging the fact that the
- 1:10Speaker 1: world is feeling very heavy at the moment. And I
- 1:15Speaker 1: didn't want to not say anything. But you know, it's
- 1:20Speaker 1: hard to find the right words. for anybody, I think.
- 1:24Speaker 1: But I just wanted to acknowledge that what's going on
- 1:27Speaker 1: in the world is on my mind. It's on everyone's mind.
- 1:32Speaker 1: And I hesitated until now to say anything about it
- 1:39Speaker 1: because I just felt like, why would I share my opinion?
- 1:43Speaker 1: It doesn't really matter. But the reason why it does
- 1:45Speaker 1: matter is because I have been through something similar. I
- 1:49Speaker 1: lost my fiancee two terrorists. He was killed by terrorists.
- 1:54Speaker 1: And I know what it feels like to lose someone.
- 2:00Speaker 1: I know what it feels like to be scared. I
- 2:03Speaker 1: know what it feels like to hurt and just be
- 2:08Speaker 1: so frightened of what the future holds and what is
- 2:11Speaker 1: currently unfolding. And that unknown feeling is ever consuming. And
- 2:18Speaker 1: for the people that are actually going through that and
- 2:20Speaker 1: have loved ones who are They don't know where they
- 2:24Speaker 1: are right now. That is the worst feeling in the world.
- 2:27Speaker 1: I can attest to that. And, you know, I just,
- 2:32Speaker 1: I want to say that my heart is with everybody
- 2:35Speaker 1: and my thoughts are as well. And I just wanted
- 2:38Speaker 1: to take a moment to acknowledge what is going on because,
- 2:42Speaker 1: you know, as we all move on through everyday life
- 2:46Speaker 1: and do the things we normally do and put out
- 2:48Speaker 1: content like this, sometimes it doesn't feel right. Like we
- 2:54Speaker 1: are paying attention to the tone of the world. And
- 2:56Speaker 1: I just want you to know that I am and
- 2:58Speaker 1: I'm there. So anyways, I also wanted to thank everybody
- 3:03Speaker 1: for listening continuously to my podcast. It means so much
- 3:06Speaker 1: to me. You know, I book every guest myself. I
- 3:09Speaker 1: don't have a booker. I chase guests. You know, I
- 3:13Speaker 1: find a topic that means something to me. And I
- 3:16Speaker 1: go after that person personally. I try not to go
- 3:18Speaker 1: through their PR person because that never works. I try
- 3:21Speaker 1: and have a personal connection with them. And I take
- 3:25Speaker 1: this very seriously. I take my guests very seriously. I
- 3:28Speaker 1: want them to have a platform to be able to
- 3:29Speaker 1: tell their story. or talk about a topic that needs
- 3:33Speaker 1: to be reconsidered. And I love that you stay with
- 3:36Speaker 1: me every week. And if you've missed some episodes, I
- 3:38Speaker 1: know that people have told me privately on DMs that
- 3:41Speaker 1: they go back and listen to them. Every guest is
- 3:44Speaker 1: so different, and we will continue to bring you that
- 3:47Speaker 1: kind of content in the future. And I'm always open
- 3:50Speaker 1: to listening to suggestions of people that you want to
- 3:52Speaker 1: hear from, people who you think are misunderstood. That's always
- 3:57Speaker 1: helpful for me too, to know who you want to
- 3:59Speaker 1: hear from. And I also wanted to mention, it is
- 4:03Speaker 1: so helpful that if you are watching to subscribe to
- 4:06Speaker 1: the YouTube channel comments, we always appreciate them. I do
- 4:10Speaker 1: read everyone. And also if you are listening on your podcast,
- 4:14Speaker 1: if you could give us five stars, if you like
- 4:16Speaker 1: the episode and leave a review, it is helpful for
- 4:20Speaker 1: the algorithm, but not only that it's helpful for when
- 4:22Speaker 1: people are checking out what this podcast is about, they
- 4:25Speaker 1: know that there's some, credible content in it. So I
- 4:30Speaker 1: just wanted to, you know, kind of run down the
- 4:32Speaker 1: headlines of that for right now. And now let's talk
- 4:36Speaker 1: about who's going to be on today. So if you
- 4:40Speaker 1: have been watching Southern Charm, or if you know of it,
- 4:43Speaker 1: then you know all the characters in place. Shep Rose
- 4:48Speaker 1: is my guest today. I'm really excited to have him.
- 4:50Speaker 1: I've known Shep since before he got on Southern charm
- 4:54Speaker 1: and before he was famous. And I will say that
- 4:56Speaker 1: I can attest to the fact that he is the
- 4:58Speaker 1: same person he was when he was not famous as
- 5:01Speaker 1: he is now. And I think that he's never pretended
- 5:03Speaker 1: to be anyone else than himself. And that's why he
- 5:06Speaker 1: gets away with a lot of things. He may not
- 5:08Speaker 1: be the typical Prince charming, but he is definitely very charming.
- 5:13Speaker 1: We have watched today's guest charm his way out of
- 5:16Speaker 1: just about everything in the last 10 years. Shep Rose's
- 5:19Speaker 1: the perfect blend of charisma and snark has helped him
- 5:22Speaker 1: make Southern Charm a must watch. This season, Shep is
- 5:25Speaker 1: front and center when it comes to the drama. He
- 5:27Speaker 1: gives us the scoop on the questionable timeline between Taylor
- 5:31Speaker 1: and Austin and Olivia. And he opens up about the
- 5:35Speaker 1: significance of his relationship with his ex and what he's
- 5:38Speaker 1: looking for in the future. Kids, a trip to Saint-Tropez,
- 5:41Speaker 1: another book. The world is his oyster. Shep shares his
- 5:45Speaker 1: thoughts on Paige and Craig's long-distance relationship, Whitney's travels, what
- 5:50Speaker 1: cast member he would want to see come back, and
- 5:52Speaker 1: how stand-up comedy might just play a part in his future.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Shep is never at a loss for words. Please take
- 5:59Speaker 1: a listen to Shep Rose. Shepard, it's such an honor
- 6:34Speaker 1: and a pleasure to have you back in my life.
- 6:36Speaker 1: How are you, buddy?
- 6:38Speaker 2: Good, Rachel.
- 6:38Speaker 3: How are you?
- 6:39Speaker 1: I'm great. So, you and I know each other from
- 6:43Speaker 1: before you even did the show. I was wondering if you, like,
- 6:47Speaker 1: what your recollection is of how we, of our relationship
- 6:50Speaker 1: and how we met.
- 6:52Speaker 2: It was in Kansas City at a wedding. And you
- 6:56Speaker 2: were someone's date. And we just, we were.
- 7:01Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 7:01Speaker 2: We just started laughing at making fun of each other.
- 7:04Speaker 2: And your date got like a little butthurt, if I
- 7:08Speaker 2: remember correctly.
- 7:09Speaker 3: And not not not. I mean, he was just like, hey, man,
- 7:13Speaker 3: she's my date, which I understand.
- 7:15Speaker 2: By the way, I've definitely like had a date before.
- 7:18Speaker 2: And my friends are like having a little too much
- 7:21Speaker 2: fun laughing with my date. I'm like, guys, she's with me.
- 7:25Speaker 2: But I do remember hitting it off in a really
- 7:28Speaker 2: fun way.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I think you were sitting next to me. I
- 7:31Speaker 1: think you were there stag, right? I don't remember.
- 7:33Speaker 3: Totally, totally.
- 7:34Speaker 2: I would never go to Kansas City with a date.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Right, right. And I do remember, though, you showing up
- 7:41Speaker 1: at the pool with some other guy, and you were
- 7:44Speaker 1: both in speedos.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's our move. That was our move at
- 7:49Speaker 2: the time. He's now married with kids, and he's sober. Oh, wow. Right, right.
- 7:55Speaker 3: But I'm not. I went the other direction.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Right, right.
- 7:59Speaker 1: And speaking of sober, I don't drink beer. And that
- 8:02Speaker 1: was the first time. It was like really cool at
- 8:04Speaker 1: the time to ice someone. What was it where you
- 8:06Speaker 1: had to get down on your knee and drink?
- 8:08Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Yeah. That was sort of dorky in my opinion.
- 8:11Speaker 2: I don't like gimmicks. Just give me the goddamn beer
- 8:14Speaker 2: so I can drink it. Right.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Well, you peer pressured me into doing it and I
- 8:18Speaker 1: didn't know anyone there. I hardly knew the date I
- 8:21Speaker 1: was on.
- 8:22Speaker 2: I categorically deny icing you.
- 8:25Speaker 3: You did.
- 8:26Speaker 1: You iced me.
- 8:27Speaker 2: All right.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Well, I couldn't even drink it. I had never had
- 8:31Speaker 1: beer before. I was a total wimp. And so, you know,
- 8:35Speaker 1: it was dumb. But anyway, we had a great time.
- 8:37Speaker 2: I also won $ 3, 000 on the blackjack table at Harrah's
- 8:43Speaker 2: outside of Kansas City.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Oh, nice.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Okay.
- 8:46Speaker 1: So it was a great weekend for you.
- 8:48Speaker 2: That was okay.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Okay, and then later on, we kept in touch, and
- 8:54Speaker 1: you invited me. I can't really remember the details on
- 8:56Speaker 1: how this happened, but I was with a girlfriend of mine, Trudy.
- 9:00Speaker 1: She was visiting from San Francisco.
- 9:02Speaker 2: I love Trudy.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Yeah, and we met down. We came down to visit
- 9:06Speaker 1: you for the weekend, and it was the weekend you
- 9:08Speaker 1: were filming the pilot for Southern Charm. Do you remember that?
- 9:12Speaker 3: I don't. Was it the pilot?
- 9:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:15Speaker 3: I don't remember. I definitely remember y'all being here. We
- 9:18Speaker 3: had a great time.
- 9:19Speaker 2: We were up at that rooftop apartment and we're carrying
- 9:25Speaker 2: on and doing what we do.
- 9:26Speaker 1: And, uh, It was the pilot or it was used
- 9:30Speaker 1: as the first episode, whatever it was.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. It was early. It was definitely early.
- 9:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:35Speaker 1: And I remember, well, first of all, I met everyone
- 9:38Speaker 1: and I thought everyone was so cool. I hung out
- 9:41Speaker 1: with obviously everybody thought Craig was like the hottest thing
- 9:43Speaker 1: they had ever seen.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Right.
- 9:45Speaker 1: So but Craig, you know, he saved in my phone
- 9:48Speaker 1: as Brooklyn because he told me the entire weekend his
- 9:50Speaker 1: name was Brooklyn. He never even told me his name
- 9:53Speaker 1: was Craig. So the first time I knew him as
- 9:55Speaker 1: Craig was when the show came on. But I remember
- 9:57Speaker 1: thinking at the end of the weekend, I said to Trudy,
- 10:00Speaker 1: how is this show going to go anywhere? This was
- 10:02Speaker 1: the most boring. Nothing happened. It was the most boring.
- 10:06Speaker 1: It was a fun weekend, but like nothing out of sorts.
- 10:08Speaker 2: Right.
- 10:09Speaker 1: So I was like, oh, poor chef, like they're not
- 10:11Speaker 1: going to have a show. And here you are. Look
- 10:14Speaker 1: at what they're able to do with a little bit
- 10:17Speaker 1: of editing.
- 10:19Speaker 2: Well, I think the show succeeded for the very facts
- 10:25Speaker 2: of what you just said. We didn't have any expectations.
- 10:30Speaker 2: We didn't know what the fuck we were doing. We
- 10:32Speaker 2: were just, we were normal people from nice, normal families.
- 10:38Speaker 2: And we did, we were like, I mean, at least
- 10:40Speaker 2: I can speak for myself. I was just like, I'll
- 10:43Speaker 2: try anything once. And I didn't think I was like,
- 10:46Speaker 2: this is going to go down in flames. I was
- 10:48Speaker 2: with you.
- 10:48Speaker 3: I like I didn't care.
- 10:51Speaker 2: I was. But I think what's made it what made
- 10:55Speaker 2: it successful, at least early on, was we're real. We
- 10:59Speaker 2: were absolutely real. We were absolutely genuine. We didn't have
- 11:03Speaker 2: any ulterior motives. We weren't trying to be actors or actresses.
- 11:08Speaker 2: or performers, we were just like trying to, and we
- 11:11Speaker 2: were meeting each other kind of for the first time, uh,
- 11:14Speaker 2: and getting to know each other. And then you add
- 11:16Speaker 2: in like, uh, Thomas Ravenel and, and Whitney and, and
- 11:21Speaker 2: all these characters and me and Craig Brooklyn, so to speak. Um,
- 11:26Speaker 2: you just, it was combustible. It was, um, a real
- 11:29Speaker 2: Testament to Whitney, uh, who put it all together. Whitney
- 11:33Speaker 2: created the show and, uh, He found us, he found
- 11:37Speaker 2: a cast of misfits and people started to pay attention.
- 11:42Speaker 1: But what you say is so true because everyone was
- 11:45Speaker 1: so authentic and real and no one, it didn't seem
- 11:49Speaker 1: that people.
- 11:50Speaker 4: They think you're done for the day, but they don't
- 11:53Speaker 4: know about the drawer. The drawer. Just the one square
- 11:58Speaker 4: before bed. Or two, you know. Nobody's watching. You deserve
- 12:05Speaker 4: a treat. With eight flavours to choose from, you can
- 12:11Speaker 4: choose the flavour you favour with Cadbury Dairy Milk.
- 12:20Speaker 1: People were like, oh yeah, I want to do this
- 12:21Speaker 1: show because I want to push a product or I
- 12:23Speaker 1: want to be famous. It really was a group of
- 12:26Speaker 1: real people who were all very beautiful, but like they
- 12:30Speaker 1: were all like so authentic. And that's, you can still
- 12:34Speaker 1: see that. And- The same thing with knowing you from beforehand.
- 12:37Speaker 1: You are the same person today as you were at
- 12:42Speaker 1: that wedding, way before someone should be talking to you
- 12:44Speaker 1: about doing a show. And that's what I love about you.
- 12:47Speaker 1: And I think that's why you've succeeded probably, even though
- 12:50Speaker 1: you're not someone who has necessarily been represented in the
- 12:55Speaker 1: best of ways sometimes. But people have a soft spot
- 12:57Speaker 1: for you. They forgive you because you're funny, you're authentic,
- 13:00Speaker 1: and you don't really... you really don't have a mean
- 13:02Speaker 1: bone in your body. So you might not make the
- 13:04Speaker 1: right decisions sometimes, but it's like, because you're learning as
- 13:08Speaker 1: you go on and you guys kind of grew up
- 13:09Speaker 1: on TV, even though you were a little older when
- 13:12Speaker 1: you started, but like you, you really have spent years
- 13:15Speaker 1: on television, figuring it out.
- 13:18Speaker 2: I was about to say that I have definitely, uh,
- 13:22Speaker 2: grown up a little bit. I mean, I was 33
- 13:24Speaker 2: when I started this shit and now I'm 44. And, uh,
- 13:29Speaker 2: I mean, by the way, like, so glad I didn't
- 13:31Speaker 2: start when I was 24, because that would have been disastrous. And,
- 13:37Speaker 2: you know, I do have, like, a newfound sympathy for
- 13:42Speaker 2: child actors or anybody like that.
- 13:45Speaker 3: Like, what a mindfuck, you know?
- 13:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:48Speaker 3: But, again, I mean, you know, I'm on a show
- 13:50Speaker 3: on Bravo.
- 13:51Speaker 2: It's not like I'm, you know, a movie star or anything.
- 13:56Speaker 3: But it's super cool. Everyone's super nice.
- 14:00Speaker 2: And it, but it takes some getting used to, and
- 14:02Speaker 2: I've definitely changed over the past 10 years, like a
- 14:05Speaker 2: hundred percent. I've been through so many different and, and
- 14:09Speaker 2: let me personally, as well as, you know, tied to
- 14:15Speaker 2: the show. I mean, and, and whatever you want to
- 14:16Speaker 2: call fame or whatever, like I've just been through different
- 14:20Speaker 2: phases and now I'm at this really good place where
- 14:22Speaker 2: I'm like very Zen and I'm just like, what a dream,
- 14:26Speaker 2: what a wonderful dream life is. and how lucky I am. And,
- 14:30Speaker 2: you know, like, say what you will about me. I
- 14:33Speaker 2: don't care. It's like, I know, I think that there's
- 14:37Speaker 2: this saying, um, character is what, or reputation is what
- 14:41Speaker 2: others think of you. Character is what the people who
- 14:45Speaker 2: know and love you think about you. And, uh, I
- 14:49Speaker 2: think I did that wrong. I think that that's a, um,
- 14:52Speaker 2: but you get the gist of it. Like, I don't
- 14:55Speaker 2: give a fuck what anyone else thinks at this point,
- 14:58Speaker 2: because you're right. I mean, look, I'm not trying to
- 15:00Speaker 2: be combative, but, um, I know who I am. I
- 15:05Speaker 2: am a nice person. I want everyone to succeed. I
- 15:08Speaker 2: don't root against anybody. If I've done something stupid, I'll
- 15:12Speaker 2: admit to it. But yeah, I feel good about myself
- 15:17Speaker 2: most of the time.
- 15:18Speaker 3: Not all the time, but most of the time.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. So how does it feel to get that
- 15:23Speaker 1: kind of recognition from being on a Bravo show? You
- 15:27Speaker 1: said you're not like an actor, but to some people,
- 15:30Speaker 1: you're more famous. than people in the movies, right? People
- 15:33Speaker 1: on Bravo TV are, it's a different kind of fame.
- 15:38Speaker 1: It's incredibly crazy and out there and everyone seems to
- 15:42Speaker 1: know you, right? So how does that feel when people
- 15:45Speaker 1: come up to you?
- 15:46Speaker 2: Well, look, I mean, the Bravo fans are like the
- 15:50Speaker 2: most loyal fans on the face of the earth.
- 15:53Speaker 3: So a testament to them and testament to the.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Channel for creating this ecosystem that we all live in.
- 16:02Speaker 2: And so I, but Rachel, like, you know, like I probably,
- 16:08Speaker 2: I definitely, before I even got into the television business
- 16:12Speaker 2: or what have you, like, which I was not trying
- 16:14Speaker 2: to do, this completely fell in my lap. I definitely
- 16:18Speaker 2: probably looked at, looked down my nose at reality TV or,
- 16:22Speaker 2: you know, and, you know, like, like art house movies
- 16:25Speaker 2: and stuff.
- 16:26Speaker 3: But what I found is.
- 16:29Speaker 2: Entertainment, helps people go through things in life, like, or
- 16:34Speaker 2: whether it be just a simple commute. I talked to fans.
- 16:38Speaker 2: They're like, I have a two hour commute. I have
- 16:40Speaker 2: two kids.
- 16:41Speaker 3: I worked two jobs.
- 16:43Speaker 2: And when I get home, I turn on your, your
- 16:45Speaker 2: show and it makes me forget about everything. And I've
- 16:48Speaker 2: also heard people say, my, my mom was sick with cancer.
- 16:51Speaker 2: We watched your show in the hospital and we laughed
- 16:54Speaker 2: and we, and we got, and we just loved it.
- 16:57Speaker 2: And it really helped us. I'm like, So I love
- 17:01Speaker 2: hearing that. It really puts it in perspective. If I
- 17:05Speaker 2: can help get people's mind off their troubles for even
- 17:09Speaker 2: two seconds, like, wow, that's beautiful.
- 17:12Speaker 1: I love that. I love that. So you were just
- 17:14Speaker 1: talking before about how this all started for you. You
- 17:17Speaker 1: did not want to kind of get into reality TV.
- 17:20Speaker 1: And I know you said Whitney created this. So what
- 17:23Speaker 1: was the process? Because I know for a lot of people,
- 17:25Speaker 1: they have to go through all sorts of interview things.
- 17:28Speaker 1: Tell me how you got into it.
- 17:30Speaker 2: I was at a rooftop party at that same apartment
- 17:32Speaker 2: that we were at, but on the roof and at
- 17:36Speaker 2: New Year's Eve 2012, I think. And I met Thomas
- 17:42Speaker 2: Ravenel or I knew Thomas Ravenel. Our families knew each other.
- 17:45Speaker 2: I was like, what's up, Thomas? He's like, he goes,
- 17:48Speaker 2: you won't believe this. They're doing a show about Charleston
- 17:54Speaker 2: and they want me to be in it.
- 17:56Speaker 3: And I was like, OK, good for you, man.
- 17:57Speaker 2: Congratulations.
- 17:59Speaker 3: He goes, I want you to meet the creator.
- 18:01Speaker 2: His name's Whitney. Whitney came over.
- 18:03Speaker 3: We shook hands. And he was like, what's going on, dude?
- 18:08Speaker 3: I was like, nothing.
- 18:09Speaker 2: And so we kind of started laughing and hanging out
- 18:12Speaker 2: and talking to this person, that person. He's like, you know,
- 18:15Speaker 2: I'd like to talk to you about being on the show.
- 18:16Speaker 2: I think you'd be a good fit. I was like, yeah, man,
- 18:19Speaker 2: I'm not really. I was working on something else. But
- 18:23Speaker 2: I go, here's my card. And I had a business
- 18:26Speaker 2: card at the time that said, go fuck yourself. And
- 18:31Speaker 2: I gave it to him. And no number, no nothing.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Just go fuck yourself. And he laughed so hard. And
- 18:37Speaker 2: he goes, you have got to talk. Let me buy
- 18:40Speaker 2: you lunch tomorrow with my business partner. And the rest
- 18:44Speaker 2: is kind of history. We went and filmed a sizzle
- 18:47Speaker 2: reel at my family's farm with a bunch of whiskey
- 18:51Speaker 2: and oysters and steaks and shotguns. And six months later,
- 18:57Speaker 2: I get a call and it's on.
- 19:00Speaker 1: This episode is brought to you by HelloFresh. My schedule
- 19:04Speaker 1: is always packed. I'm running from taping a podcast to

- 20:05Speaker 1: They look at the recipe cards. And they pretend that
- 20:08Speaker 1: they're in a restaurant. It's adorable. And I'm not kidding.

- 20:31Speaker 1: number one meal kit. Wow. That must have been unbelievable.
- 20:37Speaker 3: Well, I didn't know what to expect. I didn't know
- 20:39Speaker 3: what to expect.
- 20:39Speaker 2: And I had half of my friends and family telling
- 20:41Speaker 2: me not to do it. I mean, they were like,
- 20:43Speaker 2: are you fucking nuts? Right.
- 20:44Speaker 1: I was going to ask you what they thought. They
- 20:46Speaker 1: probably were like, absolutely not.
- 20:50Speaker 3: Well, the deciding factor is my sweet mother.
- 20:52Speaker 2: And she, she said, She goes, son, you should have
- 20:56Speaker 2: been on TV years ago.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Well, that's pretty true. So I also remember meeting Corey,
- 21:04Speaker 1: who was, to me, seemed like a really big part
- 21:06Speaker 1: of the group back then. But he didn't really make
- 21:09Speaker 1: it on there, right? Or was he a friend of?
- 21:11Speaker 1: How did that work with Corey?
- 21:13Speaker 2: Oh, the Summer House?
- 21:15Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, but he was part of that group that
- 21:18Speaker 1: weekend that I met with you. So I thought he
- 21:19Speaker 1: was part of the cast.
- 21:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:22Speaker 2: To my knowledge, it was like Craig and Corey and Craig, whatever,
- 21:27Speaker 2: like shown through.
- 21:28Speaker 3: But I don't know, man. I don't make decisions like that.
- 21:31Speaker 2: You know?
- 21:34Speaker 1: And I remember thinking Cameron was the most beautiful girl
- 21:37Speaker 1: I had ever seen. I was like in awe of
- 21:40Speaker 1: her beauty.
- 21:42Speaker 3: Yeah, she's amazing.
- 21:43Speaker 2: I'm having lunch with her tomorrow. Oh, amazing.
- 21:45Speaker 1: I haven't seen her in forever.
- 21:47Speaker 2: I haven't seen her in forever. We talk on the
- 21:50Speaker 2: phone periodically. And I was like, let's have lunch tomorrow.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Thank you for minding me.
- 21:55Speaker 3: 1230, got it.
- 21:56Speaker 1: Good, you'll have to, please tell her I say hello.
- 21:59Speaker 1: But is there a past cast member that you would
- 22:01Speaker 1: love to see return?
- 22:07Speaker 3: You know, there was a girl, Jenna, in season one
- 22:10Speaker 3: who was.
- 22:13Speaker 2: Really outrageous. And funny as all get out. But when
- 22:18Speaker 2: that camera turned on, She was just she couldn't be herself.
- 22:24Speaker 3: And that's and that's.
- 22:27Speaker 2: That's something I can't describe to you. Like, it's not
- 22:32Speaker 2: a skill necessarily. It's just something that happens. I've seen
- 22:37Speaker 2: it happen to people that I really adore and I
- 22:40Speaker 2: think are hysterical and they can't do it when, you know,
- 22:45Speaker 2: when they need to kind of thing. Right. Right.
- 22:48Speaker 1: And you were talking about Thomas before and what a
- 22:50Speaker 1: big personality.
- 22:51Speaker 3: I mean, me, myself, I become, I like love it.
- 22:56Speaker 2: I'm total ADHD in me, you know, like when the
- 23:00Speaker 2: pressure's on, I, I prefer like, I, I, I cram
- 23:04Speaker 2: for the test.
- 23:04Speaker 3: Kind of thing, you know? Yeah.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Well, yeah, you come to play, like you're, you're good
- 23:09Speaker 1: in front of the camera, but you're no different in
- 23:10Speaker 1: front of the camera.
- 23:12Speaker 4: They think you're done for the day, but they don't
- 23:15Speaker 4: know about the drawer. The drawer. Just the one square
- 23:20Speaker 4: before bed. Or two, you know. Nobody's watching. You deserve
- 23:27Speaker 4: a treat. With eight flavours to choose from, you can
- 23:33Speaker 4: choose the flavour you favour with Cadbury Dairy Milk.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Than in real life. I think there are people that
- 23:45Speaker 1: really have a difficult time. They get, you know, just
- 23:48Speaker 1: shell-shocked kind of, and they just don't know how to react.
- 23:51Speaker 3: They think too much. They think too much. Just be yourself.
- 23:54Speaker 3: It always works. Unless you're like a terrible person, even
- 23:58Speaker 3: then you'll be a villain. It'll be great.
- 24:00Speaker 2: Right, right.
- 24:01Speaker 1: But so you were talking about Thomas before and how
- 24:04Speaker 1: he was such a big personality. I think he still is.
- 24:07Speaker 1: But he obviously we saw him in the arc of
- 24:09Speaker 1: his relationship with Catherine. How do you think being on
- 24:13Speaker 1: television affected them?
- 24:15Speaker 3: I mean, Thomas is just a real character, like.
- 24:25Speaker 2: And I still hear from people like, I mean, you know, he's,
- 24:28Speaker 2: he's flawed, no doubt, but I still hear from people who.
- 24:32Speaker 3: Are like that guy. And you couldn't write that character.
- 24:36Speaker 2: If you were a writer and you were like, I'm
- 24:38Speaker 2: going to sit down and write this character, you would
- 24:41Speaker 2: get laughed out of the writer's room. You know, you're like, no, no,
- 24:43Speaker 2: that person doesn't. He's straight out of a Pat Conroy novel, basically. And, um, um,
- 24:50Speaker 2: I mean, I can't believe that he had two children
- 24:52Speaker 2: with Catherine or Catherine had two children with him. Like
- 24:56Speaker 2: it's outrageous, but it just kind of like indicative of
- 25:00Speaker 2: the fact that our show just sort of is, there's
- 25:04Speaker 2: always something going on and it just, it just continues
- 25:07Speaker 2: to live and people love it.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Right.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Right. Okay.
- 25:11Speaker 1: We've seen you try on a bunch of different careers.
- 25:14Speaker 1: throughout your time on the show has anything stuck or
- 25:18Speaker 1: is there something if you weren't on this show that
- 25:20Speaker 1: you would be or even if you were that you
- 25:22Speaker 1: would really love to do.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Yes i've been thinking about this um i want to
- 25:29Speaker 2: own a boutique hotel in the.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Caribbean i do too okay all right.
- 25:36Speaker 2: All right, let's do it, Rachel. Let's do it.
- 25:39Speaker 3: I'll fuck half of it, and then you can do
- 25:41Speaker 3: the rest.
- 25:42Speaker 1: I can manage the whole thing. Remember, I was in
- 25:44Speaker 1: the hospitality business forever.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Oh, that's true. All right, well, what a serendipitous thing.
- 25:52Speaker 1: We're a good duo.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:55Speaker 1: But for real, is that something you would think of doing?
- 25:58Speaker 1: Do you want to have a project, or what do
- 26:00Speaker 1: you think you're going to do with your life? This
- 26:02Speaker 1: show can't go on forever.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Excuse me?
- 26:06Speaker 1: The show can't go on forever. So like what?
- 26:09Speaker 3: No, it's funny. What are you, my mom and dad?
- 26:12Speaker 2: Sorry.
- 26:14Speaker 1: I am a little older. Yeah.
- 26:17Speaker 2: No, I, I don't know what's going to happen, but
- 26:22Speaker 2: I'm not worried about it even in the least. I,
- 26:26Speaker 2: like you said, I myself and I've got, and I've
- 26:29Speaker 2: got a lot of ideas and a lot of, unfortunately
- 26:33Speaker 2: I don't follow through on a lot of my ideas
- 26:35Speaker 2: cause that's my ADD working, but, um, I've got a
- 26:39Speaker 2: lot of them. And so I just, I always thought
- 26:43Speaker 2: that everything was going to work out.
- 26:44Speaker 3: And I'm lucky as fuck. I get it. But, um,
- 26:48Speaker 3: something will happen. Yeah.
- 26:50Speaker 1: I mean, I don't ask you because I'm trying to
- 26:52Speaker 1: give you pressure. I'm just curious if there's something that you,
- 26:55Speaker 1: that you want to do, but it does seem like
- 26:56Speaker 1: things work out for you and you, you have so
- 26:59Speaker 1: many different ideas. It's not like you're going to sit
- 27:01Speaker 1: around and do nothing.
- 27:03Speaker 2: You know, great. What I'll do is, is I'll, the
- 27:08Speaker 2: only job we have in this life, the only job,
- 27:11Speaker 2: my little pearl of wisdom is to keep a smile
- 27:13Speaker 2: on your face. Everything else is bullshit. If you're happy,
- 27:17Speaker 2: you did life right. I don't give a fuck about,
- 27:21Speaker 2: you know, oh, point to this, point to that. Keeping
- 27:24Speaker 2: up with the Joneses. Fuck the Joneses. I don't want
- 27:28Speaker 2: to keep up with them. I don't care about them.
- 27:30Speaker 2: I want to keep myself happy. And the things that
- 27:33Speaker 2: make me happy are fly fishing, surfing, golf, and hunting.
- 27:39Speaker 2: And that's the things that make me happy. And I'm
- 27:41Speaker 2: going to do those things. Maybe I'll do a show
- 27:43Speaker 2: about that. I pitched it. Well, I've written it up.
- 27:47Speaker 2: I've got a lot of ideas. Let's just put it
- 27:49Speaker 2: that way.
- 27:50Speaker 3: Okay, good.
- 27:50Speaker 1: I love that.
- 27:51Speaker 2: I think I'd be good on a travel show. Don't you? Yeah.
- 27:54Speaker 1: I think you'd be great on a travel show. People
- 27:56Speaker 1: would want to travel around with you and you're not
- 27:59Speaker 1: tied to anything like a wife or kids. So it's
- 28:02Speaker 1: like the perfect time for you to do it.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Well, I always loved Anthony Bourdain rest in peace because
- 28:08Speaker 2: of course I'm not a chef or anything and I
- 28:11Speaker 2: haven't written a, I did write a book, it's called
- 28:16Speaker 2: Average Expectations, you should read it.
- 28:19Speaker 3: But he wrote Kitchen Confidential, it was fantastic.
- 28:23Speaker 2: And then that show, but I really loved his show
- 28:26Speaker 2: because he kind of delved into the cultural and historical
- 28:30Speaker 2: aspects also while having beautiful meals and drinking nice wine.
- 28:36Speaker 2: And I think I, anyway, I'm not going to pitch
- 28:38Speaker 2: you the show, but I think I'd be good at it.
- 28:41Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I think you would be great at something
- 28:43Speaker 1: like that. And even if you went to different places
- 28:45Speaker 1: as a single guy, you know, checking them out. I
- 28:50Speaker 1: think that's good. Wait, you just brought up your book,
- 28:53Speaker 1: Average Expectations Lessons in Lowering the Bar. How did that
- 28:57Speaker 1: even come about? Did you write it?
- 29:01Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 29:02Speaker 2: I wrote every every word of it.
- 29:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:04Speaker 2: Wow. Yeah. I would never not write a book that
- 29:08Speaker 2: I wrote. Yeah, no. Um, so yeah, my agent was like,
- 29:15Speaker 2: I was always pontificating and at lunch around 30 rock
- 29:20Speaker 2: in New York and, you know, talking about this and I've,
- 29:24Speaker 2: I've strong opinions and, um, and a lot of interesting,
- 29:28Speaker 2: I think, uh, Confused about things. And it doesn't always
- 29:33Speaker 2: come across on TV, but maybe that's not what the
- 29:36Speaker 2: show is supposed to be about. But um my agent
- 29:39Speaker 2: was like you should write a book you should absolutely
- 29:41Speaker 2: write a book and and then uh covid happened and
- 29:43Speaker 2: i just i went to the.
- 29:45Speaker 3: Mount into the mountains and wrote a book in three months.
- 29:50Speaker 1: Well it's interesting that you say i mean first of
- 29:52Speaker 1: all that's amazing congratulations because most people have to get
- 29:54Speaker 1: a ghostwriter so i think that's pretty cool but um
- 29:58Speaker 1: I had.
- 29:58Speaker 2: A very, very cool editor and helper and shout out
- 30:02Speaker 2: to Dina.
- 30:03Speaker 1: Okay, so let's get into this season for a minute.
- 30:08Speaker 1: The whole arc of this season has really been about
- 30:11Speaker 1: this Austin Taylor kiss. The timeline, did it happen? Now
- 30:15Speaker 1: we know from the last viewing on Thursday night that
- 30:20Speaker 1: they did admit to the kiss. In the teaser coming
- 30:23Speaker 1: up for next week, Austin's mom asks if they slept
- 30:27Speaker 1: together you know whatever so like the whole thing you
- 30:32Speaker 1: haven't seen that.
- 30:34Speaker 2: No i think someone just emailed me the new episode
- 30:38Speaker 2: but i um yeah i mean without getting too into
- 30:43Speaker 2: it i mean i approach i know people are going
- 30:47Speaker 2: to be like are already like you know you're Do
- 30:51Speaker 2: you care? You don't seem like you care. Of course
- 30:53Speaker 2: I care. I never cared about anybody more in my
- 30:57Speaker 2: life than Taylor.
- 30:59Speaker 3: Ever.
- 30:59Speaker 2: It was the longest relationship I had. But what am
- 31:04Speaker 2: I going to do?
- 31:05Speaker 3: What am I going to do?
- 31:05Speaker 2: Burn down the house? That's not who I am. And
- 31:11Speaker 2: It's sort of like my mom used to say, and
- 31:14Speaker 2: all our moms used to say, I'm not mad, I'm disappointed.
- 31:18Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Which hurts even more. Right, right.
- 31:20Speaker 1: Oh, that's the worst.
- 31:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:23Speaker 2: So that's how I approach it. Now you're going to
- 31:26Speaker 2: watch this season and see different interactions that maybe don't
- 31:31Speaker 2: keep my cool all that much. But yeah, it's complicated
- 31:36Speaker 2: and it's upsetting, no doubt.
- 31:38Speaker 1: But I think for someone watching the show, I can
- 31:41Speaker 1: tell you that you do look upset. You do look
- 31:44Speaker 1: like you care. And I think that, you know, it
- 31:46Speaker 1: comes across, especially, you know, on the episode, I think
- 31:49Speaker 1: it was the last one where Taylor walks in and
- 31:52Speaker 1: sees little Craig. And I feel like that really affected
- 31:56Speaker 1: you because it was like your little threesome family was
- 31:59Speaker 1: together again. And it looked like, you know, that hit
- 32:02Speaker 1: your heart for a second.
- 32:05Speaker 2: I mean... Yeah, I mean, listen, for two and a
- 32:10Speaker 2: half years, we slept in the same bed, you know,
- 32:14Speaker 2: almost every night with little Craig. And in the morning,
- 32:18Speaker 2: she would wake up and kiss little Craig. on the
- 32:23Speaker 2: head and then kiss me on the head and then
- 32:25Speaker 2: go go to work and nobody else knows that in
- 32:28Speaker 2: the world you know only the three of us and
- 32:31Speaker 2: something beautiful about that you know and i remember all
- 32:35Speaker 2: that and um she used to she loved that dog
- 32:39Speaker 2: and and he loved her right back and it was
- 32:43Speaker 2: oh yeah of course i got emotional god you'd be
- 32:45Speaker 2: a monster if you didn't you know in my opinion Right.
- 32:49Speaker 1: Well, of course. So what's interesting about this season is
- 32:52Speaker 1: I feel like, you know, I guess this is the
- 32:55Speaker 1: Southern Charm version of Scandival, but like toned way down
- 32:59Speaker 1: to dial maybe two as opposed to 20.
- 33:01Speaker 2: Yeah, I've heard that. And, you know, well, the crazy
- 33:07Speaker 2: thing is, is the Scandival thing happened. Right. And what
- 33:12Speaker 2: let's call it last winter. And we had already filmed
- 33:17Speaker 2: the season.
- 33:17Speaker 3: So, yeah. People were like, oh, you guys are copying them.
- 33:20Speaker 2: We're like, wait a second. Technically, the shit that happened
- 33:23Speaker 2: to us was before that. I mean, technically, forget it.
- 33:27Speaker 2: It totally was.
- 33:31Speaker 3: But wow, yeah, that sort of made headlines.
- 33:34Speaker 2: Didn't it?
- 33:35Speaker 1: But were you guys nervous with this season coming out
- 33:38Speaker 1: that this was going to be such a scandal that
- 33:42Speaker 1: everyone was going to get shamed and canceled? I mean,
- 33:45Speaker 1: it obviously didn't happen that way. I think the difference...
- 33:48Speaker 1: as a viewer is that, um, you know, obviously no
- 33:53Speaker 1: one cheated. It was after the fact, but what is
- 33:56Speaker 1: very similar to me is, well, Hey.
- 33:59Speaker 2: Hold on.
- 34:00Speaker 1: Okay.
- 34:00Speaker 2: Go ahead. You know, it remains to be seen what
- 34:03Speaker 2: Austin and Olivia's relationship was that status at the time
- 34:08Speaker 2: where this all went down. So true, true.
- 34:11Speaker 1: And will that come out on the season?
- 34:13Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, Olivia's, I don't think still is, is,
- 34:17Speaker 3: is gotten over it, but whatever.
- 34:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:20Speaker 1: Well, there's a, there's a lot of reasons for her
- 34:22Speaker 1: not to get over it. I mean, obviously we'll come
- 34:24Speaker 1: to find out if there was some cheating going on,
- 34:26Speaker 1: which it sounds like maybe there was because the timeline.
- 34:30Speaker 3: Textbook Austin. I mean, he.
- 34:34Speaker 4: They think you're done for the day, but they don't
- 34:37Speaker 4: know about the drawer. The drawer. Just the one square
- 34:42Speaker 4: before bed.
- 34:45Speaker 2: Or two.
- 34:46Speaker 4: You know, nobody's watching. You deserve a treat. With eight
- 34:53Speaker 4: flavors to choose from, you can choose the flavor you
- 34:56Speaker 4: favor with Cadbury Dairy Milk.
- 35:04Speaker 3: You know, it was one.
- 35:05Speaker 2: Foot in the door, you know, one foot in, one
- 35:07Speaker 2: foot out kind of thing. so I never, you know,
- 35:11Speaker 2: I can never describe any of his relationships, be it
- 35:14Speaker 2: with Madison or Olivia. I like, it just never, it
- 35:19Speaker 2: never made sense. And he never like fully jumped in
- 35:21Speaker 2: the pool basically. Um, so whatever that's, that's for him to,
- 35:26Speaker 2: to discuss, I suppose.
- 35:28Speaker 3: But, but yeah, right.
- 35:29Speaker 2: Okay.
- 35:30Speaker 3: So you're saying it's not like Scandival or whatever.
- 35:32Speaker 2: No, it's not.
- 35:33Speaker 1: But, um, But the similarities to me is that you
- 35:37Speaker 1: guys all date within your pool of friends kind of,
- 35:41Speaker 1: and then date someone who your friend, maybe date is
- 35:44Speaker 1: a strong word, but you guys are intimate with people
- 35:48Speaker 1: that have been recycled with all your friends. And with
- 35:51Speaker 1: the Vanderpump rules cast, their thing is that they're cheating.
- 35:56Speaker 1: Like everyone is a cheater, but then they all attack
- 35:59Speaker 1: the person with you guys saying, Cheating is like, I
- 36:02Speaker 1: don't know what the boundary is. It's a little muddy waters,
- 36:04Speaker 1: but it's really for you guys. You date someone who
- 36:06Speaker 1: has dated one of your friends. It just seems par
- 36:09Speaker 1: for the course.
- 36:11Speaker 2: Well, no, it's different. I mean, look, I, I started
- 36:16Speaker 2: dating Taylor and I, you know, I was like, I'm
- 36:20Speaker 2: on the TV show and like, I really like you, but,
- 36:24Speaker 2: and if you don't want any part of it, let
- 36:25Speaker 2: me know because I, I'm not going to sit here
- 36:29Speaker 2: and lie on camera. That's the big thing. People ask
- 36:33Speaker 2: about the show. I am saying and doing what I
- 36:36Speaker 2: would normally say and do with the people I want
- 36:39Speaker 2: to do it with. So I never want to hide
- 36:45Speaker 2: what I'm trying to do or anything like that.
- 36:48Speaker 3: So she agreed to be on the show or to join.
- 36:52Speaker 2: Me and basically... put our lives on camera, which turned
- 36:59Speaker 2: out to be, you know, maybe not the best idea,
- 37:01Speaker 2: but that's life.
- 37:04Speaker 1: And so wait on that, on that note, do you
- 37:07Speaker 1: think that if you dated off camera, it would have
- 37:09Speaker 1: had a different result?
- 37:13Speaker 3: I don't know. It's a good question.
- 37:15Speaker 2: It's a, it's a good question.
- 37:16Speaker 3: I mean, it's not easy. I'll say that. And the
- 37:20Speaker 3: problem is you're dating, right?
- 37:27Speaker 2: And everyone's talking about you. And you can feel that
- 37:32Speaker 2: sort of examination happening. Even though you're not in the room,
- 37:37Speaker 2: you know that people are talking about you. And then
- 37:40Speaker 2: the show comes out and you hear different people's opinions.
- 37:43Speaker 2: It's just stressful. It puts stress on a relationship, not
- 37:47Speaker 2: a doubt on the world on that.
- 37:49Speaker 1: Right, right. What do you think is holding you back
- 37:53Speaker 1: from settling down?
- 38:02Speaker 2: Monotony I just that scares the shit out of me
- 38:06Speaker 2: Groundhog Day like I don't want to do Groundhog Day
- 38:10Speaker 2: I want to be able to do whatever.
- 38:11Speaker 3: I want all the time but.
- 38:16Speaker 2: I don't know I mean I kind of had a
- 38:18Speaker 2: thing with Taylor during COVID where I was like this
- 38:22Speaker 2: isn't so bad so I had a nice little epiphany
- 38:26Speaker 2: and you know, we, I got as close with her
- 38:29Speaker 2: as anybody I ever have. So, um, you know, and
- 38:32Speaker 2: that's why I value her as a, uh, and her
- 38:37Speaker 2: family and all the people, um, in her life, because
- 38:41Speaker 2: it was, I consider it a very, her a very
- 38:46Speaker 2: important part of me.
- 38:47Speaker 3: And I always will.
- 38:49Speaker 1: And you guys did discuss marriage, right?
- 38:53Speaker 3: We did.
- 38:54Speaker 2: She told me to, uh, go to hell when I proposed.
- 39:00Speaker 2: I didn't propose, but I was like, what if we
- 39:02Speaker 2: do this? She's like, you can't do that. You don't
- 39:05Speaker 2: even know what the hell that means.
- 39:06Speaker 3: And I was like, okay, okay.
- 39:08Speaker 2: But what if I did this? She's like, oh, I
- 39:11Speaker 2: don't know. So I think girls sometimes kind of do that.
- 39:15Speaker 2: They kind of like play coy or just kind of
- 39:17Speaker 2: talk shit. Right.
- 39:19Speaker 1: And even though maybe they do want you to propose,
- 39:22Speaker 1: but they want to see what your reaction is and
- 39:25Speaker 1: push back.
- 39:26Speaker 3: Oh, but here we are talking about it.
- 39:28Speaker 2: Let's not talk about it. It's still.
- 39:31Speaker 1: Okay. Well, do you think that in your future you
- 39:33Speaker 1: want to ever get married and have kids?
- 39:36Speaker 3: I want kids.
- 39:38Speaker 2: Yes. Kids would be great because when you're old and
- 39:42Speaker 2: you're like 65 or 70 and You would love to
- 39:47Speaker 2: see someone exploring the world and kind of making the
- 39:52Speaker 2: same mistakes, hopefully not too many, that you made and
- 39:55Speaker 2: having the same laughs and joys and enthusiasms that you
- 40:00Speaker 2: can maybe instill in them. And I think that that
- 40:03Speaker 2: would be delightful.
- 40:06Speaker 1: You just don't feel the need to have a partner anymore.
- 40:09Speaker 1: to do it with or?
- 40:10Speaker 2: No, no, no, no.
- 40:11Speaker 3: I'm not saying that.
- 40:12Speaker 2: Um, I, I, you know, the Warren Beatty, George Clooney
- 40:16Speaker 2: and Andy Cohen track, you know, you wait until, I mean, honestly,
- 40:24Speaker 2: I want to like, I've got things I want to
- 40:26Speaker 2: do and they're not exactly, um, it's not exactly entails
- 40:30Speaker 2: sitting around and watching a baby, um, all day and night. I,
- 40:35Speaker 2: you know what I mean?
- 40:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 40:36Speaker 2: Right.
- 40:37Speaker 1: And I think that that's totally fair. I think you've
- 40:39Speaker 1: always been upfront and honest about who you were and
- 40:42Speaker 1: what you wanted. And I think for anyone to get
- 40:45Speaker 1: mad that you can't follow through with like a white
- 40:47Speaker 1: picket fence and a wedding, they really need to step
- 40:51Speaker 1: back because I don't think that that's ever who you
- 40:54Speaker 1: represented to be.
- 40:56Speaker 2: So, well, you know what they say, misery loves company. So, um, people, um,
- 41:02Speaker 2: I think people are generally miserable and they want you
- 41:05Speaker 2: to be miserable along with them.
- 41:07Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe.
- 41:08Speaker 3: All right.
- 41:09Speaker 1: So I want to get back to a couple of
- 41:11Speaker 1: things in the most recent episode. What I thought, again,
- 41:14Speaker 1: as a viewer, it was a little bit uncomfortable for
- 41:17Speaker 1: me watching JT and that scene in the bar with
- 41:21Speaker 1: you guys where he was like looking at you and
- 41:23Speaker 1: was like, why would you let her go? You should
- 41:26Speaker 1: marry her. Why didn't you marry her? And then but
- 41:29Speaker 1: at the same time you know he you know has
- 41:31Speaker 1: an issue with like bro code stuff because it was
- 41:34Speaker 1: clear that he was either saying he had a crush
- 41:36Speaker 1: on her what she was his ultimate girl right but
- 41:39Speaker 1: then got so upset that like this bro code had
- 41:42Speaker 1: been broken like what was up with JT in that
- 41:44Speaker 1: scene it was really uncomfortable to watch.
- 41:47Speaker 2: Yeah I mean he brought some different energy didn't he um.
- 41:52Speaker 3: And I mean, he was in love. I think he, look,
- 41:56Speaker 3: he doesn't know me anything.
- 41:57Speaker 2: I know JT, you know, we're not, we're not like,
- 42:02Speaker 2: we play golf and I enjoy his company, but we're
- 42:04Speaker 2: not like tight. You know, we don't like go on
- 42:06Speaker 2: vacations together. So he doesn't owe me anything as far
- 42:11Speaker 2: as if, when Taylor and I was breaking up, when
- 42:14Speaker 2: we broke up, I had no illusions about the fact
- 42:16Speaker 2: that people were going to like her. I mean, she's amazing,
- 42:19Speaker 2: you know, for all the reasons I was in love
- 42:21Speaker 2: with her. So, um, I didn't feel anger towards him
- 42:28Speaker 2: at all. But I thought it was funny that she
- 42:31Speaker 2: rebuked his advances. And I think that's hilarious. But yeah,
- 42:37Speaker 2: and then he definitely.
- 42:40Speaker 3: Poked.
- 42:42Speaker 2: See, the thing with Austin and Craig and I, we're
- 42:46Speaker 2: so close and we've known each other... it's hard for
- 42:50Speaker 2: us to call each other out because everyone gets defensive
- 42:53Speaker 2: because we know too much. You know what I mean?
- 42:55Speaker 2: It's like, it's just, it's like a dead end road.
- 42:59Speaker 2: Like you just bang your head against the wall. But
- 43:01Speaker 2: JT came in and he didn't care. And he had no,
- 43:05Speaker 2: he didn't have the past that we had. And he
- 43:07Speaker 2: came in, shook the tree, so to speak. And so
- 43:12Speaker 2: I don't know what to think about it other than
- 43:14Speaker 2: the fact that I mean, I don't know.
- 43:16Speaker 3: Maybe maybe some secrets would still be secrets if it
- 43:20Speaker 3: weren't for JT.
- 43:21Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I guess that's true. Also, something that came
- 43:24Speaker 1: out was that Taylor had sent Whitney one or more
- 43:29Speaker 1: naked photos, one in particular that said, come one, come all.
- 43:32Speaker 1: I think there was some chatter that because of that
- 43:36Speaker 1: quote on it. And then later in the episode, you
- 43:38Speaker 1: use that one quote, come one, come all. People were like,
- 43:42Speaker 1: what does that mean? What are your thoughts on all that?
- 43:49Speaker 2: Look, I know Taylor. She can be quite a little
- 43:51Speaker 2: exhibitionist sometimes. So I don't have any anger. I know
- 43:57Speaker 2: that she and Whitney have a funny relationship, but I
- 44:00Speaker 2: know it's not romantic. I think she likes to shock sometimes,
- 44:05Speaker 2: and that's what she was doing. And I also know
- 44:08Speaker 2: that she blames Whitney for any problems we had in
- 44:14Speaker 2: our relationship. Because she's a bad influence on me. Okay.
- 44:22Speaker 1: Do you think that's true?
- 44:25Speaker 2: No, nobody's an influence on me. I'm my own person,
- 44:28Speaker 2: but I, you know, I look at Whitney and I
- 44:31Speaker 2: see someone who's lived a wonderful life. I mean, the
- 44:35Speaker 2: guys in San Tropez, Ibiza, London, I mean, you, you
- 44:43Speaker 2: name it. He's, and he lives a good life and he,
- 44:46Speaker 2: and I, I mean, you know, obviously his mother wants
- 44:49Speaker 2: a grandchild, but that's about it. You know, like I don't,
- 44:53Speaker 2: you know, he's, you'd have to ask him, but he's,
- 44:55Speaker 2: he doesn't seem like the marrying type at all. But
- 44:59Speaker 2: he'll tell you that maybe one day, you know, but
- 45:02Speaker 2: you know, and, and, and screw everybody who is like,
- 45:07Speaker 2: Oh God, How despicable. Despicable? How despicable is a fucking
- 45:13Speaker 2: villa in San Tropez with eating pasta with truffles on it? With,
- 45:21Speaker 2: you know, beautiful people walking around. Yeah, yeah, that sounds
- 45:24Speaker 2: real despicable. Give me the fucking PTA meeting in a
- 45:29Speaker 2: dingy fucking gym in suburban America. Well, you're, you know,
- 45:35Speaker 2: fuck that. I don't want to do that. I like
- 45:38Speaker 2: the center of pay.
- 45:40Speaker 1: I get it. I get it. You guys are funny.
- 45:42Speaker 2: All right.
- 45:43Speaker 1: You mentioned Craig before. Let's talk about your relationship with Craig.
- 45:45Speaker 1: It's been really fun to watch your friendship with my
- 45:48Speaker 1: boy Brooklyn over all these years. Would you ever have
- 45:51Speaker 1: believed that he has become this huge successful business?
- 45:56Speaker 4: They think you're done for the day, but they don't
- 45:59Speaker 4: know about the drawer. The drawer. Just the one square
- 46:04Speaker 4: before bed. Or two, you know. Nobody's watching. You deserve
- 46:11Speaker 4: a treat. With eight flavors to choose from, you can
- 46:17Speaker 4: choose the flavor you favor with Cadbury Dairy Milk.
- 46:28Speaker 2: I'm so happy for him. He's changed and evolved the most,
- 46:33Speaker 2: if you want to know the truth. I mean... When
- 46:36Speaker 2: you met him, I mean, he was emaciated. He was,
- 46:38Speaker 2: I mean, he'll tell you, he was addicted to Adderall.
- 46:41Speaker 2: He didn't eat. And he just, and his brain was scattered.
- 46:46Speaker 2: And I've just been very pleased to see his metamorphosis.
- 46:51Speaker 3: And I.
- 46:52Speaker 2: Can't, I, we've never been closer than right this moment.
- 46:57Speaker 2: We talk, we give each other advice. We talk. We
- 47:01Speaker 2: plan stuff. We talk about the stock market. I mean,
- 47:05Speaker 2: it's like real adult conversations. And boy, when we met
- 47:08Speaker 2: each other, it was nothing like that.
- 47:11Speaker 1: Do you have any of his pillows in your house,
- 47:14Speaker 1: which is now an Airbnb?
- 47:18Speaker 3: I think I do.
- 47:19Speaker 2: I think I do. Yeah. I mean, he gave me
- 47:22Speaker 2: a couple, but I mean, who knows? People probably stole
- 47:24Speaker 2: them from my Airbnb. Right.
- 47:26Speaker 1: Well, that's true. I would. What do you think of
- 47:29Speaker 1: Craig and Paige's long-distance relationship?
- 47:32Speaker 3: I like Paige a lot.
- 47:35Speaker 2: I don't know. Long-distance kind of sounds lovely, honestly. I mean,
- 47:43Speaker 2: I don't know. It's a brave new world out there,
- 47:46Speaker 2: isn't it, Rachel? Who are you seeing? Nobody. Zero.
- 47:50Speaker 1: Do you have anyone for me?
- 47:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 47:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 47:52Speaker 2: I'll set you up.
- 47:54Speaker 1: Oh, good. I would love that. Our relationship would come
- 47:56Speaker 1: full circle. I would really love that. But do you think,
- 48:00Speaker 1: I know you like Paige and I think a lot
- 48:01Speaker 1: of people really like Paige and obviously everybody likes Craig too.
- 48:04Speaker 1: Do you think that they will go the long haul?
- 48:07Speaker 1: I mean, they talk a lot in this season about
- 48:09Speaker 1: how it almost comes across that Craig is more interested
- 48:13Speaker 1: in the babies and the marriage and she's a little
- 48:16Speaker 1: more independent. Like, do you think that that will last?
- 48:21Speaker 2: Well, yeah, I mean, this is kind of, you know,
- 48:25Speaker 2: maybe one of the reasons I like her so much.
- 48:26Speaker 2: She's like a little bit like a guy, right? Or
- 48:31Speaker 2: she's like, nah, I got a good thing going. Like,
- 48:33Speaker 2: why do I want to pump the brakes? She's doing
- 48:36Speaker 2: well professionally. She loves New York city. It's like her place.
- 48:41Speaker 2: And she likes the fashion world. Why jump out of that?
- 48:47Speaker 2: Craig is pretty traditional, turns out. And I think it's funny,
- 48:53Speaker 2: that dichotomy. Yeah.
- 48:55Speaker 1: Well, I think most people really like them together. And
- 48:58Speaker 1: hopefully that will work out, whatever that means for them.
- 49:01Speaker 1: That doesn't have to end in marriage. But I think
- 49:03Speaker 1: that that relationship... I think marriage.
- 49:06Speaker 3: marriage is a dying institution, Rachel.
- 49:10Speaker 2: I think in 30 years, if we're around to see it,
- 49:13Speaker 2: maybe 40, people are like, you're, you were, people got married.
- 49:18Speaker 2: How stupid was everybody? Yeah. Like, and that's a testament
- 49:22Speaker 2: to like women and their empowerment and their careers. And
- 49:28Speaker 2: they're like, they're kicking that. I mean, they're smarter than men.
- 49:31Speaker 2: Most of them, at least that I've observed. And I
- 49:34Speaker 2: think it's wonderful. And I like, why, why have to,
- 49:37Speaker 2: Why sign a contract?
- 49:38Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 49:39Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 49:39Speaker 1: Well, I think that actually is an interesting topic of conversation. Listen,
- 49:43Speaker 1: I've been married twice. I was engaged to somebody who
- 49:47Speaker 1: was killed. Like I've not had a great, you know,
- 49:50Speaker 1: track record with men. I have a daughter who's 11,
- 49:54Speaker 1: who I love. I would love to find a partner
- 49:56Speaker 1: and like a witness to my life and someone to
- 49:58Speaker 1: share my life with. But does it have to end
- 50:01Speaker 1: in marriage? Like the fact that we're talking about this,
- 50:03Speaker 1: it's such a good question because it really is making
- 50:04Speaker 1: me think like, it doesn't affect my commitment. Like I'm monogamous.
- 50:08Speaker 1: I would love to be with just one person, but
- 50:11Speaker 1: it does.
- 50:12Speaker 2: You're right.
- 50:12Speaker 1: Like marriage does not have to be this like thing
- 50:15Speaker 1: that like defines who we are. So I think that's
- 50:18Speaker 1: an important thing for people to think about.
- 50:21Speaker 2: I think so too. I really believe it.
- 50:23Speaker 3: Like, you know, girls are freezing their eggs.
- 50:26Speaker 2: And stuff like that. I mean, this is, it's a
- 50:28Speaker 2: brave new world and it's not going to change. It's
- 50:30Speaker 2: not going to go, you know, No matter how much
- 50:34Speaker 2: the GOP wants everything to go back to the 1950s,
- 50:37Speaker 2: it's over. The genie is out of the bottle and
- 50:41Speaker 2: things are changing rapidly and we're going to have to
- 50:44Speaker 2: figure it out. And, you know, the traditionalists are going
- 50:48Speaker 2: to have clutch their pearls and holler, but it's over, man.
- 50:54Speaker 2: Things are changing.
- 50:55Speaker 1: Well, I do also remember I was working at Bloomberg
- 50:57Speaker 1: in my 20s, Bloomberg TV, and like all the women
- 51:01Speaker 1: were like, thinking about when they were going to get
- 51:03Speaker 1: proposed to or married because that's when they thought their
- 51:06Speaker 1: life would start and they could quit their job. And
- 51:09Speaker 1: what I've realized now in my 40s is like, I
- 51:12Speaker 1: love having a job. I love having a project. I
- 51:14Speaker 1: love having something that makes me stand out and that
- 51:17Speaker 1: keeps me financially independent and that I have something to
- 51:21Speaker 1: talk about, right? And I think so many women forget
- 51:24Speaker 1: that and not all anymore. But like it was a
- 51:27Speaker 1: thing that you thought your life started when you were
- 51:31Speaker 1: in a partnership with someone and you got married. And
- 51:33Speaker 1: that just is not the way it is anymore or
- 51:35Speaker 1: shouldn't be. I think you're much more valuable as a
- 51:37Speaker 1: person when you're when you have something going on.
- 51:40Speaker 2: There is nothing sexier than an independent woman.
- 51:43Speaker 3: Nothing on it. Yeah.
- 51:45Speaker 1: I love that you say that because I don't think
- 51:47Speaker 1: enough women know that.
- 51:49Speaker 2: All right.
- 51:49Speaker 1: Let's talk about your relationship with Austin right now. How
- 51:52Speaker 1: was it?
- 51:54Speaker 2: We're good, man. I mean, I certainly, you know, was disappointed,
- 52:01Speaker 2: as I said earlier. And sort of, you know, you
- 52:05Speaker 2: learn things about people and hopefully they learn things about
- 52:12Speaker 2: themselves and try to change. But we've had a lot
- 52:16Speaker 2: of good times together. I'm not going to, and we
- 52:18Speaker 2: continue to. So, I'm not going to, what am I
- 52:21Speaker 2: going to do? What am I going to do? What
- 52:23Speaker 2: would you do? I mean, I know women are different
- 52:26Speaker 2: than men in their relationships, but I'm not going to, what,
- 52:30Speaker 2: like throw a tantrum or never talk to him again.
- 52:34Speaker 2: I'm just, that's just not who I am.
- 52:36Speaker 1: No, and I get that about you, too, that I
- 52:38Speaker 1: think you really value your relationship with your with your friends.
- 52:41Speaker 1: And I mean, it's very hard because I do think that,
- 52:46Speaker 1: you know, yes, there is this code. Same thing that listen,
- 52:49Speaker 1: I get the anger that that Olivia feels towards Taylor,
- 52:54Speaker 1: because I think she felt really betrayed with maybe not
- 52:58Speaker 1: even that it happened so much as the lie is
- 53:01Speaker 1: that went around it and the coverup kind of, it
- 53:04Speaker 1: just made it seem like so much more of a
- 53:06Speaker 1: big deal. And for you, like you asked my opinion
- 53:09Speaker 1: on how you should handle it. I think a conversation
- 53:12Speaker 1: of like, dude, that was the one girl I may
- 53:15Speaker 1: have loved. Like that might've been the love of my life,
- 53:17Speaker 1: so to speak, because I didn't know anything like that.
- 53:21Speaker 1: And that was, you stepped on some boundaries that like
- 53:24Speaker 1: really bothered me. But do I think you should end
- 53:26Speaker 1: a friendship over it? No. I think that you have
- 53:29Speaker 1: a good relationship from what it seems like in the
- 53:32Speaker 1: show so far, you are able to still have that
- 53:36Speaker 1: love and connection with Taylor. And if you have that
- 53:39Speaker 1: love and connection with Austin, he's kind of a little
- 53:42Speaker 1: bit of a Peter Pan, so he might not understand
- 53:44Speaker 1: it until he gets older, but he will understand it
- 53:46Speaker 1: affects you and will not want to hurt you eventually,
- 53:49Speaker 1: you know?
- 53:49Speaker 2: Yeah, it's complicated, isn't it?
- 53:53Speaker 3: Yeah, it is.
- 53:55Speaker 2: But, you know.
- 53:56Speaker 3: You.
- 53:57Speaker 2: Know, I mean, if he doesn't have... the self-awareness to know.
- 54:02Speaker 2: And he's suffering, I'm sure on a lot of levels
- 54:07Speaker 2: while this season unfolds. I mean, I can't imagine he
- 54:11Speaker 2: gets much positive feedback out there in the world from
- 54:15Speaker 2: fans and whatnot or, or viewers.
- 54:18Speaker 1: It seems like he's taking the brunt of the blame
- 54:21Speaker 1: for sure. Women are not liking him. Even men are
- 54:23Speaker 1: not liking him, you know? So I think he he'll definitely,
- 54:26Speaker 1: maybe he'll learn a lesson.
- 54:28Speaker 3: You make your bed, you got to lay in it.
- 54:29Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 54:31Speaker 2: And I'm very big on not, I would never revel
- 54:38Speaker 2: in his misery or even though he did it to
- 54:41Speaker 2: himself and I'm involved, you know, you just hope that,
- 54:47Speaker 2: you know, you make I don't know, man. I don't know.
- 54:50Speaker 2: It's complicated, isn't it?
- 54:51Speaker 1: Well, I know that I have a question because I
- 54:52Speaker 1: know this was filmed, you said, like a year ago.
- 54:55Speaker 1: But how is it watching it back? Like, are you
- 54:57Speaker 1: guys all still friendly? Do you talk like are you
- 54:59Speaker 1: calling Olivia and being like, oh, my God, did you
- 55:01Speaker 1: see that episode last night?
- 55:03Speaker 3: We talk a little bit. And it's funny.
- 55:07Speaker 2: Yeah. Like after a particularly rough episode, like maybe there'll
- 55:12Speaker 2: be radio silence, but it doesn't last very long.
- 55:15Speaker 3: We've been doing this a long time, you know, and
- 55:17Speaker 3: I've got a lot of.
- 55:18Speaker 2: Love for everybody and I want to support everybody. And
- 55:23Speaker 2: so you'll never, I'll never ghost you. I'll always return your,
- 55:28Speaker 2: your message and I'll try to give support wherever I can.
- 55:33Speaker 3: Right.
- 55:33Speaker 1: I love that about you. All right. Other questions that
- 55:37Speaker 1: don't have anything to do with that. Who's okay. Have
- 55:39Speaker 1: you ever slid into someone's DMS to get a date?
- 55:45Speaker 3: Fuck yeah.
- 55:45Speaker 2: Are you crazy?
- 55:48Speaker 1: Did it ever work? No, I'm talking about like a
- 55:49Speaker 1: famous person that we would all know. Not some girl
- 55:52Speaker 1: that you think is hot.
- 55:55Speaker 3: I don't know. Look, my DMs are fucking, you know, crazy.
- 56:02Speaker 2: I try not to look at them, honestly.
- 56:05Speaker 1: You mean messages from women?
- 56:07Speaker 2: Yeah. Yes. Wild. Oh, wow. I really try not to
- 56:11Speaker 2: look at them, but... Because it's just silly. But if
- 56:15Speaker 2: I'm like bored, I'll be like, what is going on here?
- 56:19Speaker 3: But no, yeah. I mean, you know, in the past,
- 56:24Speaker 3: I'm sure I have. I'm sure I have.
- 56:26Speaker 2: I'm not sure what became of it. I like maybe
- 56:31Speaker 2: send an actress a message. But I'm pretty, I'm not
- 56:36Speaker 2: very salacious. So if anything, it was probably like, I
- 56:40Speaker 2: really love your work. think you're amazing, just want to
- 56:44Speaker 2: say that. You know what I mean? Right.
- 56:46Speaker 1: It wasn't like, I'd love to meet you in between
- 56:49Speaker 1: and meet you at a hotel room.
- 56:51Speaker 2: Yeah, nothing like that. Nope.
- 56:53Speaker 1: Okay, boring. All right. So would we be surprised about
- 56:57Speaker 1: anyone who slid into your DMs?
- 57:02Speaker 2: Yeah, you would.
- 57:03Speaker 1: Are you going to give me a name or no?
- 57:06Speaker 3: Oh, no.
- 57:08Speaker 2: You wouldn't probably know the names, but like, I don't know.
- 57:11Speaker 2: It's pretty wild.
- 57:12Speaker 1: The only reason I bring this up is because, you know,
- 57:14Speaker 1: some of these questions are from people that wanted me
- 57:16Speaker 1: to ask you questions, right? Because we all heard that
- 57:19Speaker 1: Madison and Alex Rodriguez had originally been talking in DMs,
- 57:24Speaker 1: and so I was bringing that.
- 57:25Speaker 2: Back to you. No, like, not some crazy pop star
- 57:30Speaker 2: has ever.
- 57:31Speaker 3: DMed me, but I met some.
- 57:35Speaker 2: uh, an act, a cool actress at a guns and
- 57:38Speaker 2: roses concert in LA. And we still stay in touch.
- 57:41Speaker 2: We've never, nothing's there. Again, I'm pretty benign. I'm like,
- 57:45Speaker 2: I'm just, I'm not trying to be, and I certainly
- 57:48Speaker 2: don't want to be in the news cycle. Like I
- 57:49Speaker 2: don't want, I, it's horrifying to me to have like,
- 57:55Speaker 2: I'm sorry. Look who I'm talking to, to be on
- 57:57Speaker 2: the front page of magazines and stuff. Yeah. I don't
- 58:00Speaker 2: want that. I don't, that again, that's not what I want. Um,
- 58:04Speaker 2: and you know, some people, you know, say any press
- 58:07Speaker 2: is good press. Well, I don't agree with that.
- 58:10Speaker 1: I don't agree with that either. So we're on the
- 58:13Speaker 1: same page there. Um, speaking of the Madison thing, when
- 58:17Speaker 1: that was all going down, what did you think of that?
- 58:21Speaker 2: Oh my God, that was crazy. I mean, I wasn't, she's,
- 58:25Speaker 2: she's something else. And she, but, um, Yeah, I mean,
- 58:29Speaker 2: I don't know, you know, it was.
- 58:31Speaker 1: Like when that was unfolding in real time. Were you
- 58:34Speaker 1: guys all aware of it? Was she telling you guys
- 58:37Speaker 1: all about it?
- 58:39Speaker 2: She told some people about it. I didn't I didn't
- 58:41Speaker 2: know what to believe. And I don't I really don't care.
- 58:43Speaker 2: I mean, right.
- 58:46Speaker 3: But I thought it was funny, like how it all unfolded.
- 58:49Speaker 2: And it was a story, wasn't it? I mean, so. Yeah,
- 58:56Speaker 2: I mean, I don't even know what. what anyone thought
- 58:58Speaker 2: about it, but I don't really care, honestly.
- 59:00Speaker 1: Okay. Are you looking forward to BravoCon?
- 59:05Speaker 2: Yes, of course.
- 59:07Speaker 1: Is there anyone you're interested in meeting?
- 59:11Speaker 2: Everybody is so nice i mean rachel it's you feel
- 59:14Speaker 2: the love like none other it's so it's like affirmation
- 59:19Speaker 2: on on you know spiked in your veins honestly it's
- 59:24Speaker 2: so cool um everybody's so supportive and happy to meet you.
- 59:30Speaker 2: And you're, you feel like you're a beetle. You got
- 59:34Speaker 2: a hard day's night or something. It's that easy. So
- 59:39Speaker 2: I can't wait to see everybody and mingle and stuff.
- 59:43Speaker 2: Is there anybody I want to meet at Bravo? No,
- 59:45Speaker 2: I think I know everybody at this point. But, you know,
- 59:51Speaker 2: everybody has their own deal. You know, that's, it's funny.
- 59:53Speaker 2: Craig and I were talking about BravoCon. because it's going
- 59:57Speaker 2: to be Paige's birthday there.
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: One of the nights.
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: And I was like, I was like, well, let's, let's
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: go out. And I was like, who should we invite?
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: He's like, that's the thing. Isn't it weird? Like everybody
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: has their own deal. You know, we all have our deal,
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: our own preferences, our own little stigmatisms and whatnot. And
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: so who knows who will show up to that party,
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: but I'm going to have fun with Paige and Craig.
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: That's for sure.
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: Okay, good. It's in Vegas this year, right?
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: Yeah, fucking Vegas.
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: Don't get me started.
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: Well, which reminds me afterwards, I'm going to text you.
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: I used to live there and work there, so I
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: know everyone there. So if you guys want to be
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: hooked up at a restaurant, anything you want, I'll give
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: you all those people's numbers.
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: Oh, cool. Go away.
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: We've got our friend at the towel group.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: Oh, Mike?
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: No, Rich Thomas.
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, of course.
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: Okay. Rich is a good friend. Yep.
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: So I used to work with Rich.
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: I like Rich. Okay.
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: So obviously people have been talking about how you have
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: been DMing with Brynn. She was just on Watch What
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: Happens Live and said that. Maybe you said that. I
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: don't know. By the way, you guys haven't switched to
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: text at this point. Why are you still DMing?
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: We're not DMing at all.
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: She said what she said and I thought it was
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: funny and everybody sent it to me and she was very,
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: you know, sweet and all that. And I just sent
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: her a nice message again.
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: I I'm sorry.
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: I wish I, I wish I was more scandalous, but
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: I was like, thank you for your kind words. Like
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: look forward to meeting you in Las Vegas. Um, And
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: then she was like, cool, cool. If you're ever in
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: New York, let me know. I was like, you know,
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: I was like, where do you live in New York?
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: She's like, you know, West Village. I was like, oh,
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: I love the West. You know, it was, it was
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: just completely, I am not.
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: So it wasn't like, I can't wait to ravage you
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: in Las Vegas.
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: I would never type that. That's, that's tacky in my opinion. Yeah.
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: No, I get it. Okay.
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: Unless I was.
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: Out meeting someone.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: Say that again?
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: Unless I was like with somebody and like, you know,
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: we were being naughty, whatever, but like, I say that
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: to someone I've never even shook hands with.
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: No, I get it. I get it.
- 1:02:08Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: So we've heard recently that Taylor is dating someone. She's
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: been dating a guy for around a year. His name
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: is Gaston. Do you know him?
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: I don't know him. He's.
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: Is that a real thing that she's dating someone named Gaston?
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: That's such a weird name. I, I wish her all
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: the best.
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: Um, you know, I've still, I'm still tight with her, her, uh, family,
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: her sister, mom and dad.
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: So, um, but you don't talk to her.
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: I do talk to her. I talk to her a lot, um,
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: quite regularly. So we don't talk about her relationship. I
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: don't really care. I mean, I, I want her to
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: be happy.
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: That's it.
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: That's it. And I'll be, um, available if she's ever
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: needs anything for the rest of my life. Okay.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: I love that. Um, Are you dating anyone right now?
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: It doesn't sound like it, but.
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: No, nothing serious. I mean, but I have a few
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: people I get excited about, you know, if I see
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: a text or maybe try to plan a meeting or
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: something like that.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: Oh, okay. I love that.
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: Well, good luck.
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: I love, I love, I really, I just, I just
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: like meeting new people.
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: I really do. It's not about promiscuity necessarily. I just
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: love being able to meet somebody. Now, they could end
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: up being a total disaster. But I just love the process.
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: I'm a social animal. And it gets me into trouble
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: if I'm in a relationship because it doesn't look good.
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: And sometimes it can lead to things you don't want
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: to do or you shouldn't do. But I enjoy being
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: able to not answer to anybody.
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: It's a wonderful feeling for me personally.
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: At the moment.
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I get it. I understand that. All right.
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: So what can people expect from either something going on
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: the rest of the season? I know you can't give
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: any spoilers, but what can people expect? Is it just
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: more of was it more than a kiss? Should we
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: be mad? Who's speaking to who? Is that kind of
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: the rest of the season?
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: I can't tell you. I don't know. I'm just, I'm
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: a fan just like you, Rachel.
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: Oh, I love that. Okay. Well, where can people find you?
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: What can people expect to see you doing next?
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: Good question.
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: I don't know. I mean, I'm a relationship on Instagram.
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: I've got Twitter.
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: For the time being.
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: I'm just like, oh, what a wasteland. And I'm happier
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: because of it. I'm going to keep doing stand-up comedy.
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: I've done stand-up. Did you know that?
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: I did not know that. How's that going?
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: It went great. I did three. I did Charlotte, Raleigh,
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: and Atlanta.
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: Wait, just like regular comedians? You just were put in
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: the set?
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: I did an hour. What? Off the top of my head.
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: I mean, I wrote down some things, of course. And
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: I had like note cards that I put on the
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: stage or whatever that I could glance at.
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: But I did.
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: Of like topics to follow?
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: Yeah, it was different. Yeah. I really liked it.
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: And it went well?
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought so.
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: I thought so.
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: My brother and sister came in Charlotte and And I,
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: what a good feeling. I came off the stage and
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: my brother gave me like the biggest hug he's ever
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: given me. He was like, I'm so proud of you.
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: Oh, that's so nice, Shep. Did anyone from the show
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: comment to you?
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: No, of course not.
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: But here's the thing. Craig and Austin are doing their little,
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: you know, podcast. They do it live sometimes. And I'm
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: going to start doing stand-up, and then they're going to
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: do their thing, and then we're all going to come
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: on stage. So that's something to look forward to. I
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: think that's a great idea.
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: Yeah, me too.
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: And I'm going to keep writing, and I'm going to
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: keep doing the things that make me happy. I don't
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: know what they are, but I don't even know. My
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: life is planned at the moment up to December 16th weekend.
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: After that, I have no plan. And that's how I
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: like it.
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: Well, maybe that's the next like book, something like flying
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: by the seat of your pants or whatever, and how
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: to live life, you know, just pushing through and without
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: any plan and see where it takes you.
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I wanted to name my original book. You
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: can't lasso a zebra. And that's what maybe I'll call
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: the next one.
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: Okay. Well, I look forward to reading that. And I'm
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: so happy we reconnected. And yeah, we're going to text
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: after this and you're going to set me up with
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: some lovely Southern gentlemen. And we'll see where that goes.
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: Okay. You got a plan.
- 1:07:12Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: Shep, you're the best. I wish you the best. I
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: think you're doing so great. I'm really proud of you.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: And I love you. I think you're terrific. So good
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: luck with the rest of the season and good luck
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: with all things you do in the future.
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: I appreciate you. Thank you, Rachel.
