- 0:00What is the key difference between people who are working on their dreams at this moment and the people who could be working on their dreams, but are not.
- 0:09People who are working on their dreams are able to hello, soul, sibling, hello sunshine, hello divine and magical being, welcome or welcome back to the soul salon, a soulful place, a feeling place, a healing place for the dreamers, for the healers.
- 0:27I am so grateful to have you back with me today and today we have a powerful question to start us off. What is the key difference between people who are working on their dreams at this moment and the people who could be working on their dreams, but are not.
- 0:43And let's bring it back to you. What is the key difference between the version of you that is diligently devotionally working on your dreams over a long period of time and the version of you that isn't.
- 0:58Let's leave that question on red for a little bit my loves because there's something we need to attend to first.
- 1:04Something that I cannot stop thinking about are the universal laws, these spiritual and physical laws that govern our reality, but that we're not always very conscious of or aware of.
- 1:15There are 12 of these universal laws or principles and the first one for example is the law of divine oneness, the idea that everything is connected.
- 1:24The law that you are probably most familiar with is the law of attraction that we attract what we are an energetic match for.
- 1:32And so we need to believe that something is possible, align our frequency to that possibility and then take aligned action in order to bring that manifestation into being.
- 1:40So all of these laws are interconnected just like everything in the universe, but the specific law that I simply cannot stop thinking about babes like I have been thinking about it so much recently and it keeps showing up in my field is the law of polarity.
- 1:55So excited to get into this with you. What is the law of polarity? Well, first of all, what is polarity? It's the notion of opposites north and south cold and hot day and night.
- 2:06And the law of polarity states that everything has its corresponding opposite, but more specifically embedded in the experience or phenomenon of anything is its opposite.
- 2:17Embedded in the concept of a day is the concept of both day and night, both light and darkness embedded in the concept of a deep relationship is both love and intimacy and connection and conflict and tension and difficulty.
- 2:35But there are aspects of this relationship we wouldn't have chosen, but there are also beautiful aspects that we couldn't have even known to choose sexy, wonderful divine.
- 2:44There's the polarity of pleasure and pain that it seems to be that in the experience of pleasure, especially when we become out of balance, we can then experience pain, we can experience addiction, which is really a form of a suffering.
- 2:57What does this have to do with the original question? The difference between people who work on their dreams, their dream to write a book, their dream to write a screenplay, to have a podcast, become fluent in a language, their dream to draw, their dream to dance, and people who think about those dreams, but don't work on them in a sustained way, even though they could.
- 3:15What we're talking about now you do have the ability to let's say work on it for 15 minutes a day, but you don't. What is the key difference is that people who are working on their dreams are able to hold the polarity of their dreams.
- 3:31This is very important.
- 3:33We think that our dreams and our desires are only one aspect, which is the positive aspect, the excitement and the joy and the purpose and the pleasure and the flow and the success, but embedded in the concept of the dream just as in the relationship just as in the day and night is also the fear, the resistance, the discomfort, the stress of the dream.
- 3:57So what we tend to do in our culture, especially because we have a culture that has been shaped by the notion of fantasy of illusion, selling a dream to us, we tend to over identify with the positive aspects of anything of a relationship, of a career, of a path of creativity and romanticize that thing and therefore live the illusion of what that thing is rather than allow ourselves to actually step into the reality.
- 4:22And what happens when we do that, if you are committed to a fantasy of what it's going to feel like to have a podcast, a fantasy of what it's going to feel like to be a YouTuber, a fantasy of what it's going to feel like to meet your dream person and then build a relationship with them.
- 4:34When you hit the reality and the messiness that is embedded in that experience, yes, you'll have the excitement, you'll have the flow, you'll have the joy, but what's going to happen when you feel the discomfort, when you feel the resistance, when you feel the conflict between you and your dream, what will you do then?
- 4:50And so often it's the people who are not willing to put up with that conflict intention that don't end up then working on the dream.
- 4:57So for me, when it comes to podcasting and YouTube, I can put up with I can handle the polarity of that experience that there are beautiful moments and then there is the nerves I feel before I felt so stressed before this episode.
- 5:09I felt like I wasn't going to be good enough, the resistance, the fear of being seen, all of these things are things that I've learned to put up with.
- 5:15And I say yes to the fullness of the experience. And there's this beautiful quote from Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert, where she says, the question is not, what are you passionate about?
- 5:24The question is, what are you passionate about enough to withstand the aspects of it that you would not choose for yourself that you do not like?
- 5:33That's not a direct quote, but essentially that everything has, even if it seems glamorous from the outside, within the actual experience of that podcast who looks like they're in the perfect studio,
- 5:43within the actual experience of that writer who published three books in five years, the actual day to day experience, if you sat with them day by day and followed what they're actually doing, there are forms of discomfort that they are putting up with that you may not want to or choose to.
- 5:57And I think that's really, really important is if you imagine the dream as an energy in the universe.
- 6:03And let's say we empathize with this energy, this energy has feelings, this energy has desires for itself, this energy has standards.
- 6:11So it's not going to commit to someone who only wants it to be a fair way, the friend only wants it for the good times, only wants it for the sunshine, the dream.
- 6:20Once to commit to someone who is committed to it, just as you wouldn't partner with someone who only wanted you on your sunniest days to use that metaphor who only wanted you when you weren't feeling uneaseful in distress, feeling sick, you would want a partner who's like, oh, you're sick.
- 6:37Let me take care of you. Let me be with you in the experience of discomfort. Let me be with you in the experience of the wound that you are in because I want all of you.
- 6:46Okay, and the dream is just the same as an energy. It wants people who wants all of it, not the illusion of it.
- 6:52The dream doesn't want someone who only wants the dream to be convenient.
- 6:55So we all want to partner with those people that accept all of us and not only the aspects of us that they find easy or convenient.
- 7:05So when we really surrender to a creative project or path, we're surrendering to all of it.
- 7:11There's going to be magic and there's going to be beauty and there's going to be the sense of fulfillment and alignment like, wow, I'm doing my life's work.
- 7:18And then there's going to be moments of absolute confusion and even despair and a feeling like everything is going wrong.
- 7:25But the difference is when you are committed to a bigger vision, you are able to hold the polarity of that vision.
- 7:31You're able to say, okay, yes, I wouldn't have chosen on this Tuesday to be extremely lost and confused about whether I'm on the right path to begin with.
- 7:38But I'm living the dream. That is the dream.
- 7:41And if you have 15 minutes to write each day, that's what you have because you have a full time job that drains you.
- 7:47The dream knows your life and your constraints. So it's not awesome you to become someone you're not.
- 7:52It's saying, how can I fit into your life as you are? I accept you as you are. Will you accept me as I am?
- 7:59As in, if you dream of writing that novel, then the dream doesn't want you to suddenly write for eight hours a day when you have a job.
- 8:06It's saying, just make a little room for me. Save a little room for me in your day and your week. Whatever is feasible.
- 8:12Like I see you. So I see that you're scrolling for hours in the night. I see that the idea that you don't have time for me is not actually the radical truth.
- 8:21And I have compassion for you and I love you. But like I will show up for you. Will you show up for me?
- 8:25My love, get a free creative activation when you sign up on my website, I understood dot com.
- 8:32This is not the same as my sub stack where you get a free ebook. This is where you get a free creative activation, which is my soul's deepest, most loving offering truly I love this meditation album.
- 8:44It is for sale on my website and I truly love using these activations. I did one just before this episode to get into the flow, the frequency of creation of love of a more settled nervous system tapping into the parasympathetic nervous system,
- 9:00the wisdom and all the connection to love and soulfulness really exists for us. And so I really encourage you to check this offering out and if it speaks to you, it is with you for life.
- 9:12The offering is delivered through a private podcast feed so you can download it, take it on a walk with you, listen to it lying down in a meditation before creation.
- 9:21And I do whether it's writing or podcasting anything where I know the fear is speaking to me, the resistance is speaking to me, it gets me into this juicy and loving energy that feeling that whatever comes next, I'm worthy of creation, I'm worthy of trying and it's not about perfectionism, it's not about proving myself to someone else or even to myself.
- 9:40Now let's get back to today's soul session.
- 10:11So it's going to give you the fantasy version, the illusion version, the beautiful version that's perfect, but that's not because it's actually meant to be perfect, it's because that's the image and the vision you need in order to co create with that energy in the universe to bring about what you're here to bring about.
- 10:29So we're not going to dream of fear, we're not going to dream of resistance, we're not going to dream of procrastination when we think of our dreams, but then when we actually experience trying to do them, that's when we're going to face those things, but the dreams still exists, it just needs us to understand that there is now the other side of it, we've graduated into a deeper level of consciousness with the dream, just as when you meet someone, there's the illusion of who they are, then there's that moment in the relationship where you see a side of them that you're like, oh, do I choose this?
- 10:58This is something that I want in my life, and that's where you get to decide, no, I don't, or yes, I do, I choose this, I choose all of this, and that is radical acceptance, and that's going to allow us to actually live the reality of creation and not the illusion of it.
- 11:11That's going to allow us to not just have all these ideas for TikToks that we write down and we feel so good about ourselves after writing down, but they never actually create.
- 11:18That's going to allow ourselves to move past saving everything to drafts because it never feels good enough, because when we actually face finishing a project, what are we being asked to face, our own lack of perfection, our own inability to live up to the fantasy we had in our minds, and yet we're still worthy of creation.
- 11:34So I really wanted to share this message with you, my loves, that the version of you that is committedly working towards their dreams has broken up with the illusion of what that is supposed to feel, and breakups are hard.
- 11:46My darling breakups are difficult. I grieve what I thought this could be, and then I step into the reality of what this is, and I've seen myself do this in so many ways.
- 11:55The illusion I had of having a podcast would be that nothing would be wrong, nothing would be uncomfortable, nothing would be not easy, and then you have a podcast, and you think, oh, an episode a week, that's going to be like nothing, and then you actually do it and you're like, oh, my word.
- 12:09That somehow was such a big ask of me, and some weeks I don't do that. And similarly, you don't imagine the discomfort of editing.
- 12:16You don't imagine the feeling of counting down the minutes, because you just want it to end. You know what I mean?
- 12:21You don't imagine the feeling of your voice feeling strained or any of these things, but then the beauty comes in the commitment of like, I still choose this.
- 12:29I can't not choose this. This is me. This is us. You know what I mean? I must do this. And finding that must, I think it allows us to really understand the power of commitment as a frequency in the universe.
- 12:40Like when we are devoted to something, that is such a beautiful thing that I hope each of you get to experience or have experienced.
- 12:46It's so beautiful because so many of us are afraid that there are aspects of us that make us unlovable. And so I feel that when we are in this frequency of devotion towards our creativity towards someone in our life, it shows us what can be possible for us as well.
- 13:02Because when you're devoted to a project, even when it's really difficult, you're showing yourself that devotion as an energy exists and is also what you deserve from the people in your life.
- 13:11If not to say without boundaries and without making sure that everyone feels safe and loved and connected, I'm not saying just be with someone at all costs, of course, or they should with you.
- 13:20But it allows you to understand, ah, this is what devotion feels like.
- 13:23My podcast says taught me what it means to be devoted to something. And it's also taught me how much that energy gives back to you because I didn't even plan to be a YouTuber.
- 13:33I was devoted to my podcast as I still am and I just put the video on YouTube. And then now it's popping off on YouTube. That was truly a gift of the devotion because I was so devoted and I am so devoted to the project.
- 13:45But my goal was never to be a YouTuber. My devotion is to the soul salon. You know what I mean? My devotion is to a vision that I see unfolding over many years, many years.
- 13:54And the visionary is not just the one who has the vision, but the one who can devote themselves and commit themselves to a vision over time.
- 14:00And your visions are allowed to change. Your visions are allowed to shift. But I think it's so powerful in a culture that's so rooted in speed and disposability and cancelling and all of these things to say, I'm devoted to this.
- 14:11And so I just wanted to make sure that I shared this frequency with you. My babes break up with the illusion and remember people who love you will not let you live an illusion.
- 14:19People who love you are not going to listen to you say, I really want X like I really want to be a YouTuber for five years and not actually ask you, okay, babes, let's take the next step.
- 14:28Because then they're comfortable with you living an illusion, which is this gap between what you say you want and what you're actually willing to do.
- 14:35Because also sometimes we're lying to ourselves about what we want. That's the whole point of this as well. We're saying I want only the good parts of this. Then you don't want that.
- 14:44So sometimes I ask myself, do I want this or do I want the illusion of this? So sometimes if I get a pang of like creative envy.
- 14:50And I'm like, oh, look at this essay, this person wrote, I wish I wrote that. And then I'm like, girl, if you sat down and wrote that essay, you would have been uncomfortable the entire time.
- 14:59And then I'm like, I only want the illusion of it. Great. It just gives you far less people to envy. So it's just like know yourself, you know, your creativity is a deep invitation to know yourself on a deep level and understand your actual motivations, desires, intentions.
- 15:15And then also the ego just wants to grab at things like, what is your soul need? That's another thing I want to tell you.
- 15:20Your ego wants the fantasy part of your role on this earth is understand what is your soul need to feel like you are creating your soul's work.
- 15:27That is what speaking is for me. Could I not speak I would be in deep grief like that as a practice to myself to others. It's something that I must do and I'm willing to put up with the discomfort around doing it.
- 15:40But the feeling that this episode is not good enough, the feeling that my energy or my throat is really strained and my speaking too fast, the judgment, the fear that it's not as good as the last episode.
- 15:50All of that is part of it because I'm if you know when you say I'm living the dream and you think to yourself how that's going to feel and you only imagine the glamorous part of that.
- 15:58If you can get yourself to a place where you also imagine some of the challenges of that, that is I think truly living the dream.
- 16:05Because there's living the dream and there's living the dream and if I die I left my frequency on earth with the world.
- 16:11And I think that's really beautiful and generous and to me that's living the dream is when you say if I died at this exact moment will I have honored the truth of my soul.
- 16:19It doesn't have to be as a full-time job only you will know what's true for you because your dream exists in the context of your reality. It understands your job, it understands your constraints, it understands your emotions and like what you're able to give and what you're not, your mental health, all of it.
- 16:33It understands for me I always ask myself if I died at this moment will I be able to say I live my truth.
- 16:39You doesn't have to be full-time and yes I lived my truth and that is beautiful and divine and precious and that's also why I don't want you to live the illusion of anything.
- 16:46That's also why I think you're worthy of the fullness of the relationship, the fullness of the friendship, the fullness of the creation.
- 16:54You know what I mean?
- 16:56Lovely, so beautiful.
- 16:59You are not merely dreaming, the collective is dreaming through you, we're dreaming of your vibration, we're dreaming of your transmission, we're dreaming of your voice, we're dreaming of your message, we're dreaming of your art, your business, your magic, your coaching, whatever it may be, we are dreaming of you and through you.
- 17:14So please keep the faith and understand that even in that dream there is the both end of the aspects that we would choose for ourselves and the aspects that we wouldn't choose but that do help us grow, do help us heal, do help us live more truthfully, more radically and more authentically.
- 17:30Okay, I love you so much my darling, you are so divine and so magical and you also get to break up with the dreams that you don't want all of.
- 17:38That's perfectly okay and in fact it's going to save you so many years of thinking you want something and working towards it and then feeling I actually don't want this thing, you know what I mean?
- 17:47That's beautiful, we must all learn how to leave sooner, maybe all learn that, not wait for the relationship to be completely terrible before we do leave it because obviously this is a nuanced conversation.
- 17:56There are relationships we should leave, then there's a reality of just the challenges of even a healthy relationship and so if you're take away from this is actually you're right, I don't want the negative sides of this, then except you don't want it, you know what I mean?
- 18:09I think that's a profound shift, if you don't want all of it, you probably don't actually want it because the part that you want you can only access in your imaginary world and you could just play with that, you could stay there, I love imagining.
- 18:20You could just stay there and imagine yourself as a dancer, even though you don't want to practice dancing and then just accept let that be enough, let the illusion, the dream, be enough and be like, I love that in that reality where I was dreaming.
- 18:31That's okay, I don't need to bring it into the 3D plane, that's also being an artist of your life is understanding these things that you can do in your consciousness that you don't actually need to invite yourself to do in the real world.
- 18:41But then there are those things that your consciousness will never be at peace with unless you also do them in the material 3D plane, that's all the real world.
- 18:48Okay, I love you so much, my loves, I will see you on the next sole session, you are so divine, magical and precious and I'm so grateful to have you here.
- 18:56I love you, I hope some paradigms have been shifted for you in today's conversation.
