- 0:04Speaker 1: to hear Mark Simone and all the wo R hosts
- 0:08Speaker 1: in an instead.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Now back to the Mark Simo show on w o R.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Well, whenever you see these poles, you read these poles.
- 0:17Speaker 1: These are these junk polls, these fake polls, these college poles.
- 0:20Speaker 1: They're very cheaply done. They're not very good. Now behind
- 0:24Speaker 1: the scenes, presidents and real candidates pay for the real,
- 0:28Speaker 1: serious polls, the deadly accurate, real polls. And the best
- 0:33Speaker 1: of the bunch is John McLaughlin, who's worked for many
- 0:36Speaker 1: presidents and prime ministers and senators and congressmen, and his
- 0:40Speaker 1: website is McLaughlin online dot com. McLachlan online dot com.
- 0:45Speaker 1: John McLaughlin, How you doing.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Oh, I'm doing well. Mark. Pleasure to be on the
- 0:50Speaker 2: phone with you again.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Great to have you on. So I don't even know
- 0:54Speaker 1: where to start. Let's take mom, Donnie, this crazy commie
- 0:57Speaker 1: and his wife who's clicking life on October seventh, awful
- 1:02Speaker 1: holocaust and things. How does this happen? We didn't have
- 1:07Speaker 1: this twenty years ago, with these kind of people could
- 1:08Speaker 1: get elected. What is out there in the population that's
- 1:11Speaker 1: getting these people elected.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Well, it's not necessarily the population as much as the
- 1:16Speaker 2: media coverage. Because you remember the first storm where eighteen
- 1:21Speaker 2: people died in the snow or whatever, you know, and
- 1:23Speaker 2: people were shoveling at their own streets. The media coverage
- 1:28Speaker 2: was not really negative. He did do a better job
- 1:30Speaker 2: maybe in the second snow, but you know the story
- 1:33Speaker 2: what you're talking about, where his wife might have liked
- 1:37Speaker 2: things that terroristed on October seventh in Israel. It really
- 1:41Speaker 2: hasn't been the big story. You know, it's among conservative
- 1:44Speaker 2: outlets that to talk about, right, Sarah. You might read
- 1:47Speaker 2: about the New York Post, you might hear about it
- 1:48Speaker 2: on Fox News, you talk about it, talk radio talks
- 1:51Speaker 2: about but the mainstream media is not carrying it. And
- 1:53Speaker 2: they're giving him a honeymoon and he's benefiting from that.
- 1:56Speaker 2: And what's more serious is you know, like over a
- 2:01Speaker 2: week ago, you know, some police officers got called to
- 2:05Speaker 2: was it Washington Park or something where because of the
- 2:08Speaker 2: snowball fight, and they attacked the police with snowballs and
- 2:11Speaker 2: ice in. One of them had to go to hospital,
- 2:13Speaker 2: and he said it was just a small snowball fight. Right,
- 2:16Speaker 2: And now you've got a situation this weekend where yeah,
- 2:20Speaker 2: there was a there was a guy who I'd never
- 2:22Speaker 2: heard of before, some some what they call influencer, conservative
- 2:26Speaker 2: influencer and social media was protesting outside of Gracie Manson
- 2:31Speaker 2: and then they had these quote unquote counter protesters come
- 2:35Speaker 2: and initially the mayor said that they threw a snow
- 2:39Speaker 2: a smoke bomb or something like that, and then media
- 2:43Speaker 2: on Saturday night was reporting them as counter protesters, but
- 2:46Speaker 2: they were really islam assists and of the two of
- 2:49Speaker 2: them got arrested because it seems they had they threw
- 2:52Speaker 2: makeshift bombs that didn't go off, and then god they
- 2:56Speaker 2: didn't go off because they were built where they could
- 2:58Speaker 2: have caused a lot of damage, had a lot of people,
- 3:00Speaker 2: including the police officers that tackle them to arrest them,
- 3:05Speaker 2: and the mayor was just smoke bombs, and his own
- 3:08Speaker 2: police commissioner was saying, this could have been really serious,
- 3:11Speaker 2: and uh you know, so uh So, what I'm saying
- 3:16Speaker 2: is the voters in New York City and New York
- 3:19Speaker 2: State and the New York City media market are not
- 3:21Speaker 2: getting the facts from the media, and they're giving Mondami
- 3:25Speaker 2: a honeymoon and through social media and and other you know,
- 3:29Speaker 2: cross pressures unconventional media. The truth is getting out and
- 3:33Speaker 2: people are getting concerned. They getting worried about it, and uh, I,
- 3:38Speaker 2: you know, it's going to create a problem for the
- 3:40Speaker 2: governor because she's up for uh, you know, reelection is year.
- 3:44Speaker 2: In full disclosure, I worked for Bruce Blakeman, and Bruce's
- 3:47Speaker 2: got the potential to beat her. And I think because
- 3:51Speaker 2: Mandami has gotten this honeymoon in spite of the fact
- 3:56Speaker 2: that he wants to raise property taxes ten percent in
- 3:59Speaker 2: New York City, inspite the fact he's now talking about
- 4:02Speaker 2: they're floating the idea of uh charging everybody for parking
- 4:06Speaker 2: on the streets. So so if you if you're in
- 4:09Speaker 2: Queen's or Brooklyn or Style and and you have a
- 4:12Speaker 2: you want to park in front of your home, you
- 4:14Speaker 2: may get you know, they're floating the idea that they're
- 4:16Speaker 2: going to make you pay a parking toll or something
- 4:19Speaker 2: like that. And because he can't up until election day,
- 4:23Speaker 2: hulkals trying to resist his uh, his entreaties to her
- 4:28Speaker 2: to raise taxes because you know he wants to. They
- 4:31Speaker 2: want to raise TAXI Mondombie wants to pay for free
- 4:34Speaker 2: child care where it's going to cost what thirty six
- 4:36Speaker 2: thousand dollars for every two year old to go to daycare,
- 4:40Speaker 2: full daycare or whatever. You might as well send him
- 4:42Speaker 2: to Sunni or tune. He sent them to college for
- 4:45Speaker 2: that amount of money. It's cheaper in New York State. So, uh,
- 4:49Speaker 2: you know, there's a lot of things going wrong right now.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Well, Bruce, Bruce Blakeman would be a much better governor
- 4:57Speaker 1: than Kathy Okle. Bruce Blakeman common sense, and he's proven
- 5:01Speaker 1: himself as a governor of Nassau County. He's done a
- 5:03Speaker 1: brilliant job. So but what chance does he have poll wise,
- 5:08Speaker 1: electric wise?
- 5:09Speaker 2: Oh well, stay tuned, because I mean, Bruce, at this
- 5:14Speaker 2: point in time. In twenty twenty one, he was down
- 5:17Speaker 2: twenty four points to the incumbent Kent executive in Nassau County.
- 5:21Speaker 2: He ended up winning on a Mexa on a message
- 5:23Speaker 2: of fighting crime and lowering taxes. And if there's any
- 5:27Speaker 2: state that needs taxes lowered for affordability as New York state.
- 5:31Speaker 2: And over a week ago he ran a statewide campaign
- 5:35Speaker 2: about lowering the utility bills because he says he can
- 5:37Speaker 2: cut the utility bills in half because New York State
- 5:40Speaker 2: is getting destroyed with these mandates on the climate change
- 5:45Speaker 2: and other things where the government regulations have artificially increased
- 5:50Speaker 2: our utility bills and people, you know, it's been a
- 5:53Speaker 2: cold winter and people are getting tough utility bills. But
- 5:56Speaker 2: that's just one example of affordability. But the other is
- 5:59Speaker 2: the taxes in New York for the amount of government
- 6:02Speaker 2: spending they have. And now you've got doctor roz saying
- 6:05Speaker 2: he's going to investigate medicaid fraud in the state, and
- 6:08Speaker 2: uh it seems to be pretty significant. So uh so
- 6:12Speaker 2: it's it's there's ways to make New York State a
- 6:14Speaker 2: lot more affordable. And Bruce is the type of person
- 6:17Speaker 2: because he's proven his record, as you said, as Nasal
- 6:19Speaker 2: County Executive's he not only stopped tax increases, but he
- 6:22Speaker 2: cut taxes but when he took office and he hasn't
- 6:27Speaker 2: raised taxes since. And then uh and and uh he's
- 6:30Speaker 2: hired hundreds of law enforcement officers at in Nassau County. Uh,
- 6:34Speaker 2: unlike New York City where they're five thousand shorter ready,
- 6:38Speaker 2: and they're talking about, you know, not hiring more police
- 6:41Speaker 2: and uh the time where you know, now with what's
- 6:45Speaker 2: going on, and ran and overseas, you've got to be
- 6:47Speaker 2: concerned about terrorist activity.
- 6:49Speaker 1: So Bruce is a much much, much better debater. So
- 6:53Speaker 1: but how important, how crucial is the debate to winning?
- 6:56Speaker 2: I think it would be. I think it would be
- 6:57Speaker 2: a huge benefit to Bruce because he's done very a
- 7:00Speaker 2: good job. But we'll see. She's she's not going to
- 7:03Speaker 2: agree that she's trying to when Bruce was. She hasn't
- 7:08Speaker 2: agreed to anything yet about debating.
- 7:10Speaker 1: But you have to agree, don't you to a debate?
- 7:13Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I'm sure, I'm sure she I'm sure she'll
- 7:17Speaker 2: be pressed at some point to do that. But she
- 7:19Speaker 2: didn't respond to Bruce is talking about utility rates and
- 7:23Speaker 2: being able to cut them in hand. She didn't respond,
- 7:25Speaker 2: So she she's been ignoring it. And uh you know,
- 7:29Speaker 2: if anything, they're flowing the idea that some of their
- 7:31Speaker 2: climate change regulations have gone too long, gone of course
- 7:34Speaker 2: too much. So uh So I think I think you
- 7:37Speaker 2: know this. It's it's only just the beginning of March.
- 7:40Speaker 2: There's plenty of time, and New Yorkers know it. And
- 7:44Speaker 2: you know, you got one side that wants to raise taxes,
- 7:47Speaker 2: and how can you talk about affordability where you're talking
- 7:50Speaker 2: about raising corporate taxes that of course jobs to leave
- 7:52Speaker 2: New York and there's been enough of that recently. Or
- 7:55Speaker 2: you're talking about raising you know, a millionaire's tax. We'll
- 7:58Speaker 2: find out we're all wealthy at some point. And Mondomie's
- 8:01Speaker 2: putting the pressure on him because he wants to spend.
- 8:03Speaker 1: We're talking about corporate tax What that is is tariffs,
- 8:05Speaker 1: Democrat tariffs and companies. Hey, before we run out town,
- 8:09Speaker 1: we don't get a minute left. If I asked you
- 8:10Speaker 1: right now what Republican's chances are in the midterms, does
- 8:14Speaker 1: that mean anything, because it's going to be a whole
- 8:16Speaker 1: different world in four months, Well.
- 8:19Speaker 2: You know right now, again, be very honest. We put
- 8:23Speaker 2: out we put out polls in the end of September,
- 8:27Speaker 2: part of me the end of January. Last September, we
- 8:30Speaker 2: were ahead for most of the year the Republicans letting
- 8:32Speaker 2: the generic vote for Congress. You know, in October we
- 8:36Speaker 2: were head forty six forty four, but at some point
- 8:40Speaker 2: in November it went one point Democrat. And the poll
- 8:44Speaker 2: that we put out in uh late January early February
- 8:48Speaker 2: had the Democrats up by three on the generic ballot.
- 8:51Speaker 2: So the Republicans need to go play offense on the issues.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Just like the President's State of the Union was great. Yeah,
- 8:58Speaker 2: I mean he got the he elevated heroes, he gave medals,
- 9:03Speaker 2: he had people there. Democrats can bring themselves to applaud
- 9:06Speaker 2: for real American heroes. And at the same time, when
- 9:10Speaker 2: he asked them to stand up if you think, you know,
- 9:13Speaker 2: we should treat American citizens better than the legal aliens,
- 9:17Speaker 2: and the Democrats couldn't do that. And then he even
- 9:20Speaker 2: brought up the fact that when they voted against his
- 9:22Speaker 2: tax cuts, they voted for tax increases. So the Republicans
- 9:27Speaker 2: who need to have a contrast election need to point
- 9:31Speaker 2: out that Democrats are for raising taxes, Democrats are forgiving
- 9:34Speaker 2: their tax dollars to illegal immigrants. The Democrats are for
- 9:39Speaker 2: you know, I mean, this week, with what's going on,
- 9:41Speaker 2: I ran you think some of these media outlets and
- 9:44Speaker 2: some of the Democrats, you think they were almost rooting
- 9:47Speaker 2: for Iran. And it's like, we really need to make
- 9:50Speaker 2: sure they never get a nuclear weapon. And you know,
- 9:54Speaker 2: that's what President Trump's doing. And it's a difficult thing.
- 9:58Speaker 2: And God bless our men and women who there in
- 10:00Speaker 2: the Armed Service who are serving. Hopefully they're successful and
- 10:03Speaker 2: they come back safe.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Well, John McLaughlan, were out of time, but great stuff.
